1. Conventions of a DigiPak
What is a DigiPak?
A digipak is a CD/DVD packaging which is used the
hold contents a digipak may contain information
on the artist or pictures of the artist. These
became essentially popular with record labels and
consumers within the early 2000s, when things
such as streaming and pirate downloading wasn’t
as easily accessible.
Plastic and card would be generally used to create
these digipak.
Music companies tend to prioritise the front and
back of the digipak this is due to the fact that this
would help draw consumers into buying the
product in the first place. However, the inside of
the would contain a booklet which potentially
gave insight into the artist which would cause ‘die-
hard’ fans to buy on impulse.
DigiPak may come in different styles some may
have a lot of images that show of the artist off
and some have much more writing that give a lot
of information on the artist,
Conclusion
All digipak come in different shapes
And sizes and some of them have much more
content then others however the typical
convention that all digipak should follow is to
convoy the artist feelings throughout the album
which is being displayed.
