Colour Scheme
In this album cover we can see that
they is 3 main colours which are used.
These colours are black, grey and
white. This is the main colour scheme
used. This is effective due to the fact
that it is simple and sometimes simple
is better due to the fact it allows you
to focus on what is going on in the
actual image.
Improvement
The main improvement I would
make to this album cover is the
colour scheme this is due to the
fact that I believe it is quite dull and
doesn’t give of the excellence of
the artist.
Fonts
In the album we can see that the both fonts
are the same however they’re both different
sizes this is because one piece of writing has
more importance and also so the audience
can pay attention to one more than the other
.
Main Image
Beyoncé is the centre of attention in
this album cover and she is positioned
to be directly in the middle of the
focal line. This is because it gives the
audience the idea of how important
she is as the artist. The image of
Beyoncé shows her paying direct
address at whoever is looking at the
album cover. This can give the
audience a sense of happiness as they
may feel welcoming to know one of
they favourite artist are peering at
them.
In this image Beyoncé is seen to be
wearing no clothes. Beyoncé appeals
to the male gaze theory as she is seen
as a beautiful women. The fact that
she appears naked enhances the
interest of the male audience to the
album cover.
Strengths
I believe that the position of the
font is perfect. This is because with
an artist as great as Beyoncé you
wont really need the name to
identify her as she is a big idol she
has her own brand recognition just
from her face.
Weakness
A great weakness with this album cover is
that this album cover is quite dull and
boring. Even though it may appeal to the
male gaze theory, overall it doesn’t look very
appealing at all. In a range of different album
covers which tend to have colour and
excitement it will not stand out among the
others.
Summary
I believe that the point of this album cover
was to show the importance of Beyoncé. This
is shown from the fact that she is the centre
image therefore she is the first thing which
catches the audience also the fact they is
barely writing at all also support my point of
her importance as the artist.
