The Economy Of Honours
Demosthenes claimed that the economy of honours was democratic because it allowed the population to reward
individuals for helping to preserve democracy through philanthropy. Benefactors or euergetes were encouraged to
donate to their city by being rewarded with various honours. The orator opposed Leptines law, which made no one
exempt from liturgies as he believed that exemptions were one way of honouring men who had helped to preserve
democracy (Demosthenes Against Leptines, 17). One such figure was Leucon, the King of the Bosphorus, who had
provided Athens with grain out of his own generosity (Demosthenes 31). Demosthenes also disapproved of Leptines
law because it diminished the sovereignty of the demos, removing their freedom to show their appreciation to
whoever they chose(Demosthenes 15). In the fourth century BC, especially after the social war, the economy of
Athens had significantly decreased in wealth and power since the Periclean golden age and could no longer afford
such gestures as paying people to participate in the assembly, aiming to increase political egalitarianism (Finley,
Chatto and Windus 1981, p.86). One attempt to increase revenue involved granting honours to people who donated
to the state in order to encourage more benefactions. In order to increase wealth the state needed to compromise
some of it s political equality, allowing individuals to distinguish themselves more so than previously (Veyne 1976,
p.90 91). This inevitable paradox

Questions On The Cavity Wall Insulation
Cavity Wall Insulation could be a remedy for the energy poverty undergone by many homes in Ireland. Available
statistics show over 60,000 low income and 160,000 other homes suffer from energy poverty. This invariably affects
their health, indoor comforts while causing huge wastage of limited earnings. Insulation In general and cavity wall
insulation in particular will help you if you are one of the above house holders.
SEAI offers special grants for up to Euro 400 to meet your home improvements by cavity wall insulation. The
installations have to be carried out by qualified installers as special tools are required to carry this out. Under no
circumstance this is a DIY job even for a person good with their hands.
Cavity walls
A cavity wall can be a construction of two walls with an air gap in between or a wall constructed of hollow
blocks. The air gap in this manner should be continuous for any effective cavity wall insulation to be carried out.
How are the Cavity walls insulated?
The cavity wall insulation is applied in several ways depending on the type and construction of wall, type of
insulation selected etc. What ever the material selected the idea is to cut off heat transfer by cutting off the heat
transfer primarily, by conduction (ie. by physical contact) and convection (ie. by the movement of hot air
(molecules) due to air currents). Naturally unless there is a continuous cavity this process has limited detrimental
affect as the heat by air movement is limited to

Space Engineering Personal Statement
Four years from now, I will be headed towards my goal of entering the engineering community. After I assert myself
into the field, and establish myself with a solid foundation in this field after graduation. I plan on entering an
engineering firm while working towards my Doctorate. I will vigorously pursue my PhD. and goal of achieving and
becoming a prominent member of the space engineering community.
In my life, I have had many goals achieved. I have successfully and aptly defended our country in times of war. My
military service has given me many tools in life. My two most valuable skills: adaptability and discipline, I credit the
US Army. I have successfully climbed my way up to the top of my current position as a commercial oil field ... Show

I have continuously self educated myself as an adult. I gained a very deep understanding of formulating equations for
advanced explosive techniques at the age of eighteen. This involved ignition systems and placement of demolitions,
using multiple chemical mediums. As a twenty year old, I gained an understanding of passive infrared technology. I
improvised a solution by removing heat signature problems. I used an understanding of basic thermal dynamics,
scientific method and basic mechanical engineering to apply a solution to remove a specific heat signature. I took
interest in clean energy development during my mid to late twenties. I tested myself by creating my own solar panels
and improved solar cell efficiency. I implemented mirrors for efficiency as well as developing a cooling system to
prevent solar cell decay. I recently designed a theoretical improvement to modern day alternators. By developing a
magnetic belt drive, I eliminated key friction points to increase efficiency in the electrical output of the alternator.
My interest then progressed to HHO generators, which expanded into the hypothetical development of a hydrogen
motor. In my late twenties, I became involved in developing a clean solution to growing sustainable food. I have
recently designed and tested my own aquaponics system, free from polluting the land or food

Time Value of Money Paper
Time Value of Money Paper In order to understand how to deal with money the important idea to know is the time
value of money. Time Value of Money (TVM) is the simple concept that a dollar that someone has now is worth
more than the dollar that person will receive in the future, this is because the money that the person holds today is
worth more because it can be invested and earn interest (Web Finance, Inc., 2007). The following paper will explain
how annuities affect TVM problems and investment outcomes. The issues that impact TCM will also be discussed:
Interest rates and compounding (with two problems), present value, future value, opportunity cost, annuities and the
rule of 72. The idea of TVM allows managers or investors the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Opportunity cost is another important concept in making financial decisions. For example, if an asset such as capital
is used for one purpose, the opportunity cost is the value of the next best purpose the asset could have been used for
(Web Finance, Inc., 2007). Opportunity cost can also be referred to as rate of return. A rate of return is the total
income per period per dollar invested (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). To do this the formula i = ( FV / PV) (1/n) 1
can be used (Getobjects.com, 2004). Opportunity cost is the benefit or cash flow forgone as a result of an action
(Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). An annuity is a sequence of equally spaced levels of cash flows (Brealey, Myers
Marcus, 2003). Some examples are car payments, loans, mortgages, or utilities. Annuities can be set monthly, bi
monthly, weekly, quarterly or annually. The payments or receipts occur at the end of each period for an ordinary
annuity while they occur at the beginning of each period for an annuity due (Getobjects.com, 2004). There are two
places that annuities fall under, present and future. The present value of an ordinary annuity is the value of equally
spaced payments in the future (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). Which can be calculated as PVoa = PMT [(1 (1 / (1 +
i)n)) / i] PVoa = Present Value of an Ordinary Annuity, PMT = Amount of each payment, i = Discount Rate per
Period, and n = Number of Periods (Getobjects.com, 2004). The present value of an annuity

North Dakota Pipeline Analysis
In North Dakota, oil is a great source of revenue. Since the oil boom, transporting that oil has been done through
pipelines as well as rail cars. Recently, the Dakota Access pipeline has attracted attention from celebrities and other
civilians that are not even residents of the Dakotas, such as Shailene Woodley, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jane Fonda, and
Mark Ruffalo. Pipelines can be both efficient and dangerous. The efficiency can be read in the ability to transport the
oil to other states, while the danger can be read in the environmental damage of an oil spill in a river that people
depend on for water in the case the Dakota Access pipeline could damage the Missouri River. No matter all the perks
of a pipeline such as Dakota Access, it can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those for the pipeline say that it will help the economy, and that it will be much safer than transporting crude oil
through rail cars. North Dakota oil producers will also get more revenue as a result. However, those against the
pipeline say that even though it may be swell for the economy, it will not be swell for the environment. The gases
that will be released from burning those gases from cars and other sources will help advance climate change, and is
ultimately bad for the environment. If the United States just went to completely renewable energy, we could slow
down the process. Also, it was planned that the pipeline be built and crossing under the Missouri River, which is the
main water source for millions of people. Native Americans of the area Sioux mainly also have sacred grounds
through where the pipeline was supposed to go through. The land was technically theirs in the treaty from the 1800s,
but through deceit over the years, it has been taken from them. If the pipeline needs to be built, then it needs to be
rerouted in order to protect the rights and environment of the

Arguments on Spanking Essay
Three reasons why people do not believe in spanking are spanking can cause harmful side effects, spanking is no
more effective than other punishments, and spanking promotes violence in children. Some harmful side effects that
could possibly be caused by spanking are children suffering from depression, being inferior in their school
performance, or having problems later on in life. It is impossible to see side effects because they are not usually
revealed immediately. People also believe that spanking cannot be proven to be more effective than any other
punishment. They think parents can use other positive and nonviolent punishments to show children their actions
were wrong without subjecting the children to the detrimental effects of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They believe the studies that prove spanking can be helpful, think spanking is not always wrong, or believe that
harmful effects could be caused by personality differences. Marjorie Gunnoe, a psychology professor, did a study
that found that people who could recall being spanked as a child had performed better in school and showed more
optimistic qualities than people who were not spanked. The research completely contradicted the studies that showed
spanking to be harmful. (3) Some experts take note that 50 years ago the majority of children were spanked by their
parents and today there is a significant decline in the amount of children being spanked; but today more children are
shown to be aggressive than in the past. There is also a possibility that the bad effects in spanked children could have
been caused by the child s personality or the behavioral differences that warranted the spankings. (4)
I think the second argument is stronger because it takes in account that all spankings might not be bad or harmful.
Many studies against spanking do not differentiate the intensity of a spanking; a simple spanking is a world of
difference from child abuse. (4) It was also be concluded by both sides of the argument that children from the ages of
two to six can benefit from spanking. (2 4)
Authoritarian parents are most likely to spank their children, because they generally command respect and have more
inflexible rules for children.

October Sky Character Analysis
October Sky: Emotions Everyone s done it. Said something that was meant to sound like something, but then
sounded like they were saying it another way. Well I ve found a way to train yourself into knowing how they meant
to say it, you read a book and you try to identify the emotions of the characters. In the memoir October Sky, the
character, Homer Hickam, shows lots of different emotions. The true story was published in1998, it s about a boy
and his friends who build and launch off their own rockets in their hometown Coalwood, West Virginia. In this story
Homer s biggest change is his emotions. Three examples would be: when he gets Mr. Bykovski resigned to a
different job and killed, when Ms. Riley gave him a rocket science book, and when he launches off his final rocket in
Coalwood. Wouldn t you feel guilty if you accidentally got someone reassigned from their job, and then killed? Well
Homer knows how that feels. When he was first starting out in the rocket business he went to a friendly welder
named Mr. Bykovski, Mr. Bykovski agreed to help Homer. Homer s dad didn t approve of his rocket building
activities, and he claimed that Mr. Bykovski helped Homer steal, which earned Mr. Bykovski a promotion to title as
coal loader: He [Mr. Bykovski] smiled a sad smile. Anyways, perhaps it is a good thing he has done I will make
more money loading coal (114). Mr. Bykovski got in trouble for doing something nice for Homer, making Homer
felt real guilty. But wait, there s

Jean Henri Merle D Aubigné s The Triumph Of Truth
Throughout the history of the world, there have been thousands of historical figures that have risen in opposition of
political and religious tyranny, in order to bring about a specific change or divert the masses from what might have
begun to be accepted as a cultural norm. This is precisely the position that was taken by a German friar Martin
Luther, the frontrunner for the Protestant Reformation, throughout author Jean Henri Merle d Aubigné s book The
Triumph of Truth: A Life of Martin Luther. Martin Luther took an adamant stand against not only the Pope, but the
entirety of Roman Catholicism. Perhaps his most famous endeavor was his stand against indulgences, and the
posting of his Ninety Five Theses to the door of the Roman Catholic ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Luther had no intention of mass producing his work, but only a couple months later, thousands of copies had been
distributed throughout Leipzig. This widespread distribution came about by a few bishop s and prince s support of
Luther s Theses; however, as expected, the majority of the bishops were less than enthralled about the early
introduction of a reformation. The most adamant disapprobation came from none other than Johann Tetzel. Tetzel
rejected Luther s Theses and labeled him a heretical follower of Jan Hus (or in English, John Huss ). The bishops
that did not support Luther s new work presented his ideas to the Pope, referring to him as an insane rebel. These
bishops, although quite blatant on their disapproval of Luther s actions, desired for the issue to be ended as quietly
and peacefully as possible. They made contact with Luther s direct authority, and encouraged him to take action in
reconciling Luther to his Catholic

A New Phase of Japan’s Immigration Policy Essay
In 2000, the United Nations reported that an average of 609,000 immigrants per year from 1995 through 2050 is
needed for Japan in order to maintain its workforce at the 1995 level (U. N. Population Division 53). The news
surprised many people in Japan, and they were forced to face the immigration issue sincerely. This controversial
issue has been discussed for last 150 years. Facing today s low birth rate and ageing population, Japan should now
accept more immigrants and become a multi ethnic country in the future. On the other hand, there are strong
oppositions against accepting immigrants for economic and cultural reasons. To clarify the points, first the issue
regarding foreign workers is examined from the economic point of view in a ... Show more content on

Workers mainly from developing countries can learn technical skills as an intern and can be a skillful worker at last.
Another program for encouraging skilled foreign workers to come to Japan has just started few years ago under the
Economic Partnership Agreement with the Philippines and Indonesia. Foreign nurses and care workers are now
accepted in hospitals and nursing homes in Japan. Through these programs, Japan is trying to meet the demands of
the labor force in particular industries. However, there are many reasons from the opposite side to restrict foreign
workers coming to Japan from the economic point of view. The strongest opposition is that there are enough women
and retired workers who are ready to work. Mainly because of the tax system and insufficient public supports for
them, Japanese women are not likely to return to their previous jobs after their first maternity leaves (Only 32.5% of
them returned in 2008) (Jinkoukozou Kenkyubu). Most of them have job experience and can adjust new jobs
immediately with less financial support than foreign workers need. Regarding the programs for foreigners that the
government promotes, they totally failed. The policy of the Industrial Training and Technical Internship Program is
to train unskilled foreign workers to become skilled human resources for the countries where they came from, but the

The Current International System As A Global Power
The current international system is fragmenting rapidly since the end of the Cold War. A lot of regions in the world
are still trying to find the balance of power in the international system, which the U.S. often intervenes to provide its
brand of global leadership . Some countries like China are emerging as a global power since a few years ago.
Subsequently, this will lead to a major threat to the U.S. status as a global major power. The rise of power by China
in the international scene signifies the unpredictable nature of the international system. I would argue that the three
most critical challenges for the U.S. arising out of this environment are the future world globalization that will cause
a conflict between its domestic and foreign policy, the rise of China as a global power, and the ever globalization of
terrorism. I believe that the U.S. should be pragmatic in handling its foreign policy and handle each situation
independently without a fix doctrine in order to minimize the unintended consequences produced by the
globalization of the world. Firstly, the future world globalization provides a challenge in U.S. foreign policy in
striking a balance between its domestic need and foreign policy. This conflict is visible in its aspiration to be energy
independent while at the same time working with other countries to mitigate the effect of climate change. The U.S.
has been dependent on the middle for its source of oil; about 17 percent of U.S. oil imports come from

The Impact Of Internet On The Level Of Competition
The ways in which the internet will affect the level of competition in this industry and for this case include the
following;
Cost Reduction
In the previous years, the film industry in Japan used to make use of many employees in the production process. That
means that the company spends a lot of money in paying for labor. With the availability of the internet, there are
animated pictures that are found on the internet and can be used for the film production industry. That means that the
number of employees who are used in production will be reduced. The company will also be able to work in a fast
way. That means that the wages that were paid to the drawer over the three months of production will be drastically
reduced (Gardner, and Howard, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Availability of High Skilled Staff
With the availability of the internet, the companies in the film production industry will be able to advertise for job
vacancies via the internet. Internet adverts usually go wide and broad. That means that the companies will have a
wide variety of staff to select. That means they will get the best skills from all over the world. Availability of skilled
labor will lead to more innovations in the company, and that will result in company efficiency. Availability of
efficient staff usually leads to increased efficiency that cuts on the costs of the company (Bartlett, Ghoshal, 140).
From the above advantages of the use of the internet, then to is evident that it will be the next big thing that brings
about competition. Companies should invest in technology so that they can benefit from the advantages that accrue
from the use of technology. With a rapidly growing technological environment, it is advisable for companies to
invest more in technology and that will be their biggest source of competitive advantage (Due, 56).
Strategies That Can Be Adopted
Every organization should have laid down strategies that will help in the achievement of the goals of a company. The
first thing for a company is to set up its goals. The goals will help in determining the strategy that will be used in a
company. A company

Instrumental Aggression Research Paper
ESP Topic : Kid Sisters and Serial Killers !
Aggression comes in two main forms; hostile aggression and instrumental aggression. Hostile aggression is
aggression stemming from feelings of anger and aimed at inflicting pain or injury (Aronson, Wilson, Arkert, 2013, p.
453). So simply put, hostile aggression is being violent and hurting someone because we are angry. According to our
textbook, instrumental aggression is defined as aggression as a means to some goal other than causing pain
(Aronson, Wilson, Arkert, 2013, p. 454). Instrumental Aggression is basically harming someone in service of some
other goal and not to just hurt them. When thinking of hostile aggression, think of serial killers; people who commits
a series of murders usually with no apparent motive. When it comes to instrumental ... Show more content on

Christopher Columbus actually observed something unusual while sailing on his first voyage through the Bermuda

the Bermuda Triangle causes disappearances. History.com stated, He reported a great flame of fire (probably a

was because of the Gulf Stream. The Gulf stream a warm ocean current flowing from the Gulf of Mexico around

Live Coding Musical Instrument
The live coding musical instrument
I dream of instruments obedient to my thought and which with their contribution of a whole new world of
unsuspected sounds, will lend themselves to the exigencies of my inner rhythm (Edgard Varèse 1937)
Live coding engages with a new concept of musical instrument, and with it, engages also with new instrumental
practices. Most live coding instruments consist of a laptop, speakers to hear the music and a projector, to display the
code to the audience. These instruments are far from uniform. Some live coders use synthesisers and even controllers
as an extension of the laptop. Other use instead of a laptop, a Raspberry Pi with a keyboard and monitor attached.
Some use audio interfaces, other use only their mini jack port. Even for someone who uses the same laptop in every
performance, each venue completes the instrument in a different way, with different sound systems and projections.
And even if two live coders use the same programming language, they don t use it in the same way. The software and
its use determine the shape of this instrument that varies for each artist.
The embodiment of the instrument for live coding is very different from the one of the acoustic musical instruments.
Therefore the codes and even the body ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

A cardiac monitor is essential in continuous monitoring of the patient, but a 12 lead EKG has the benefit of being
able to better pinpoint the specific areas of the heart that are affected or damaged.
Blood sugar can be obtained from a drop of blood with a glucometer such as One Touch, or it may be obtained along
with the serum chemistry and electrolyte analyses from the lab. A glucometer is a quick and easy way of determining
the blood glucose level. Mrs. Baker is a diabetic, and is on an antidiabetic drug, Metformin. Her change in mental
status could be due to low blood sugar. This would be easily diagnosed with a glucometer, and easily treated with IV
glucose, so it should be one of the first assessments made. A glucometer has the benefit of being a quicker and easier
way to obtain a blood sugar level, while a serum glucose may be more accurate at extremely high or low levels.
Pulse oximetry can be done with a dedicated pulse oximeter, or it may also be built in to the capabilities of the
cardiac monitor. Since Mrs. Baker is suffering from respiratory difficulty, it is essential to find out her blood oxygen
saturation level.
An arterial blood gas would not only be helpful in giving a more precise measurement of arterial oxygen and carbon

Dichotomy In Do The Right Thing

doing the right thing actually means. New York City in 1989 was filled with issues of race and class. Crime rates
were high and one of the highest recorded in history only second to the preceding year of 1990. Cases like the central
park five where african american youths and other minorities were falsely accused of crimes, caused for unjust views
of the justice system designed to protect these people as opposed to persecuting the innocent in the most blatant and

one of peace and assembly. This film uses those contrasting community pillars to once again beg the question of
what the right thing is in a situation that asks an individual to choose. This major subtext part of the film are prime
examples of duality and dichotomy. Malcolm X is known for his radical and violent views during the racist culture
during the time of the civil rights movement until he died. His philosophy never forgotten and was often still

In fact, according to researcher Lilian Prest depending upon the hospital and region, pain medication rates are as
high as 90 percent, with the vast majority of women choosing an epidural. The fact is that most women try to find
ways to avoid the pain of labor without knowing the risk, associated with pain free labor. This is because many
women are terrified of the labor pain and never even considered delivering naturally. The fear of labor pain is just
too strong to allow most to consider natural birth. There are many benefits of natural birth, such as, the mother being
in control of her body and seeing what is happening to her and baby. Women have been delivering babies naturally
for centuries. It is what their bodies are designed to do. Even though expectant women go through a lot of labor pain,
they should still consider natural birth. Expectant mothers should educate themselves more about natural birth. This
is because there are many consequences and high risk associated with drug intake to release pain and caesarean
delivery. This is because if more women are aware about the facts involved with using these medications, they will
correctly choose what is best for their own bodies and the health of their babies. III. RISK FACTORS ASSOCIATED

Eating The Pepper Monologue
Eat it! Eat it! I dropped it in my mouth without a second thought, which probably wasn t wise but hey, I was ten and
then the war of spice and flavor began. That wasn t so bad I announced But it turns out I spoke too soon, the burning
sensation spreading like the plague in my mouth. The delicious burn of a really good spice or curry, that fiery
goodness that makes you sweat and gives you a great tingling sensation, is for many people one of life s greatest
pleasures. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people. So imagine my surprise when its scaly skin grazes my tongue

Do you want one? replied Jimmy. My brother tried one, he took the pepper and put the whole thing in his mouth, but
it didn t seem like it was hot to him. I guess when you re in our family you re use to spices. So everyone else tried
one but. I was debating with myself if I should try one. Eating the pepper woud most certainly result in a heck of a
lot discomfort but i would certainly walk away from thr experience with an amazing story to tell and it s not pften
that you get a chance to eat one of the hottest peppers in the world. Andrew tried one he seems fine, and I had spicy
stuff before. But just because I had it doesn t mean I like spice and I don t, unless its spices from America. Can I
have one i say finnally mustering up the courage. Everyone started staring at me. Then one by one they started
chanting eat it! Eat it! I first smelled it the smell stinging my nostrils and sinuses this pepper was hot enough to
inflict a burning sensation with out me even touching it I stood there wondering how I would be able to handle
digesting the whole thing staring at the pepper I thought about every possible outcome and about everything that
could go wrong with unlikely and foolish scenarios coming to mind because of my child like imagination eventually
I told myself there was only one way to know what the experience would bring as a result i took a deep breath
grabbed the ghost pepper by the stem and raised it to my mouth with my head cocked backward slightly And then
Without hesitation i dropped the whole pepper in my mouth and let it rest on my tongue for a moment , initially the
taste of the pepper as it rolled around in my mouth was so sweet and flavorful in fact it was actually one of the most
delicious peppers I have ever tasted... until i bit down then the heat set in after a few seconds of delay, a rush of
intense heat swelled through my taste buds resting directly beneath the pepper. the heat was sharp and prolonged to

Analysis Of Suggestions For The Future Of Social Work
Introduction
Technological advancements can seem overwhelming today. Most everyone would agree that technological progress
can be a good thing, but only when it brings solutions to problems. For instance, it makes us more productive, or it
gives us more information more quickly than in the past. Unfortunately, there can be unintended consequences of
technology that are detrimental to us. The thing that most concerns me is that we may be losing the concept of the
importance of human relationships. When we bury ourselves in technology and cannot live a day, hour or even a
minute without it, we can easily lose sight of interpersonal connections. Email and texting are convenient, but we
sacrifice other forms of communication like body language, a tone of voice and facial expressions. An interpersonal

We are privileged to be invited into someone s life. We should do everything necessary to protect boundaries and
protect the therapeutic relationship. Secondly, we must be diligent not to exploit the vulnerable populations we serve.
The enduring challenge in social work is to locate and walk what can be a fine line between valuable innovation that
has therapeutic benefits and harmful, possibly exploitative treatment of vulnerable clients (Reamer, 2013; p. 171).
We are encouraged to be creative in finding new models and methods of meeting the needs of our clients. We must
also be critical thinkers in evaluating our efforts. Good communication is essential for developing and maintaining
positive relationships. We must be diligent to develop therapeutic working relationships with our clients, and we
should listen in order to identify how best to serve them. Technology can make communication quick and easy, but
we must exercise caution. We must always remember the importance of relationships that human touch and
interaction are mechanisms for

Henry s Speeches in William Shakespeare s Henry V Essay
Henry s Speeches in William Shakespeare s Henry V
I will be writing about how Henry V wins the hearts of his men. Using, five main speeches that Henry V makes. I
think that Henry won the hearts of his men by persuasion. Beforehand, I would like to apologize because I may talk
about what Henry says but I truly know this is what Shakespeare wrote.
In the first speech the Dauphin presented Henry V with a set of tennis balls as a joke and insult. He was suggesting
that Henry was a child and not fit for being a king. I expected Henry V to be angry and yell with frustration but I
noticed a sudden silence before Henry started his speech; it ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Repetition is also used in the second and fifth speech.
In the second main speech in which Henry exposes the traitors, I think he plays with the traitors before he tells the
traitors that he knows about their, sin. Henry loves defeating people at their own game as we saw in the last speech
as well. Shakespeare often makes speeches easier to understand by using comparison. In almost all of the speeches,
Shakespeare uses examples of objects, which everyone can relate to, or at least can imagine. In this speech he
compares the traitors to monsters. Shakespeare also uses comparison greatly in the third speech. The traitors are
guilty and we all know that but Henry puts the situation in such words, which makes them appear unforgivable,
cruel, Ingrateful, savage, and inhuman creature. Comparing once again, ...coined me into gold, he says it as though
Lord Scroop had put a price on their friendship, their extremely deep friendship, That knew st the very bottom of my
soul. How can one not differentiate between black and white, Henry uses comparison yet again. Another example of
such technique is, the voice in hell for excellence, he refers the traitor s act as sheer excellence even in hell . I think
asking a rhetorical question seems to be very

Fairness Is Equality, And Equality Is Perfection
Distribution Day Fairness is equality, and equality is perfection. The cold of winter had finally given way to gentle
temperateness, and the spring sun shone over the massive, perfectly manicured lawn, dappling its light through the
leafy branches of the grand, towering oak tree. Elana Steinbach sat peacefully thereunder, sipping cool, sweet
lemonade for the first time in months as she perused a book. The leaves danced in the cool breeze; the whole
environment was quite tranquil. There was nothing like the first day of true spring, when one could at last escape the
stale, heated air and enclosing confines of the indoors.

Evan Klein was among those whom Elana had adjudged unlikely to contribute to society. Growing up, his parents
had received a modest amount of rations. While his family was never among the elite, Evan rarely wanted for much
(though this could also be attributed to his selfless attitude). They had lived in a quaint but roomy house, an older
style stucco abode with a black, shingled roof. Their neighborhood, in the outskirts of the city, was what Evan used
to refer to as a Godilocks neighborhood a happy medium of not too crowded and not too empty.
In contrast to Elana s apparent opinion, Evan considered himself rather a bright man. His scores in school had been
on par with his peers and he had exhibited a propensity for economics; he could have performed quite well in any
number of entrepreneurial endeavors. Instead, his knowledge of economics had led him to idealism: he believed
wholeheartedly in the value of the free market, and saw no good reason for society s system of market strangulating
quasi capitalism through the assessment of people s worth and artificial allotment of resources thereby. In old times,
merits were judged not by the government, but by employers, in true free markets. To question the ways of society
was tantamount to the sacrilege of which people spoke in the era of religion, but Evan nonetheless felt that only the
stupid could possibly be duped into thinking that the system under which he lived constituted economic

Rio Grande And South Padre Island Case Study
I am pessimistic about the human race because it is too ingenious for its own good. Our approach to nature is to beat
it into submission. We would stand a better chance of survival if we accommodated ourselves to this planet and
viewed it appreciatively, instead of skeptically and dictatorially. ― E.B. White. In accommodation to the
environment, the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plants that are being planned to be built in between Brownsville and
Port Isabel should be cancelled to keep the Rio Grande and South Padre Island a highly admired tourist site.
Liquefied natural gas is natural gas in a liquid form, produced by cooling the gas to 259°F through a process called
liquefaction. Even though there is a low percentage (5% 15%) LNG will catch a fire, the LNG s vapor can explode

Differences In Blue Penguin By Dr. Seuss And Blue Penguins
Discrimination has been present in society since ancient times. Discrimination is the theme of the books, The
Sneetches and Other Stories by Dr. Seuss and Blue Penguin by Petr Horáček. These two books with a difference of
more than fifty years show us, as some of its characters, Blue Penguin from the book Blue penguin , and a group of
plain belly Sneetches from the book The Sneetches and Other Stories are similarly discriminated, but they face the
situation differently. Blue penguin accepts himself and the plain belly Sneetches, unlike the blue penguin, try to be
like the star belly Sneetches.
The story of the Sneetches and the story of the Blue penguin are both charming. One was written in 1961 and the
other in 2015. Both stories with their wonderful characters teach us about the influence of discrimination. The
sneetches made a mistake trying to change their appearances to fit in the society in which they lived but in the end,
both stories showed that it is never too late to change and begin to accept others and more important to accept
ourselves. On the other hand, there is the story of the blue penguin who was a strong penguin but he was constantly
discriminated by the other penguins to the point of wanting to leave the South Pole. Blue Penguin never wanted to
change its appearance or its way of being, unlike the sneetches he always accepted himself. as a result, the other
penguins had to accept him the way he was.

Critical Analysis Of Lapis Lazuli
Lapis Lazuli is a kind of a precious blue stone. (Marc 1998) Lapis Lazuli referred to in this poem was given to Yeats
on his seventieth birthday (as a present) by Mr. Harry Clifton. In this essay I am going to critically analyse this poem
in relation to its context. This means that in relation to time and place. I will then conclude by commenting on the
language aspects and give an account as to why he chose to use certain conventions and words.
In discussing the relationship between art and politics For everybody knows or else should know that if nothing
drastic is done, aeroplane and zeppelin will come out. Pitch like king billy bomb balls in until the town lie beaten flat
Marc (1998) articulates that this poem opens up with a description of the fear of war, and panic that caught Europe
during the period 1935 1939. He further observed that this was the time of deep despair. This means that one grew up
for the foreknowledge that war more dangerous than the first one was possible. Lines of extreme fear and violence
were growing and people were shaking with fear of air raids, and raining incendiary bombs in cities and citizens.

Speech Distracting Essay
In the informative speech, I didn t many things that were admired and distracting during the speech, and I hope to
improve on those distracting interrupting acts on my next speech. During the speech, I did some items that were a
little distracting through the speech. As I watched my speech I noticed I had some awkward pauses, bad transitions,
some um s, and a little stuttering throughout the speech. If you look at the speech I tend to stutter which is a little
distracting. Talking about the festival Diwali I talk about Rangoli and its colored pattern I stutter and forget what I
am explaining. Another thing I could improve on is my transitions when hearing the speech, the transitions are a little
rough and not as smooth. During the transition when I switch from talking about the celebrations to the language I
say, with all these celebrations it tends to bring many religions and languages together doesn t really make sense and
could be spoken a little smoother. Stuttering is also a part of the speech I did during the speech which distracting.
Throughout the speech, I stutter during different parts and one of those parts being when I am talking about the
different traditions when eating Indian food. I say, some of the traditions when people eat in India are well we all we
eat on our hands, which is a little annoying. During the speech, I also said um s during the speech. When citing my
source on languages I said some ums, repeating the citation from the notecard. During the speech I had a little tough
time with stuttering at moments, saying some um s, bad transitions, and some pauses in the future I tend to improve
it for the next speech. During the speech, I was also a good speaker in many ways. I had a good voice projection, my
hand moment was consistent, I was always facing the audience and held eye contact, and had facial expressions to
emphasize the importance of a topic. Right off the bat when I was explaining my citation saying According to the
U.S Census Bureau there are alone 5.7% Asian s in the United States, I was pointing my hands to make sure
everyone was paying attention to the numbers. Another thing I did well during the speech was, that I kept eye contact
with everyone during the speech

Kiss And Run Fusion
Kiss and Run vs Full Fusion cell cycling at small hippocampal neurons
The highly important transmission of neurotransmitter at chemical synapses was found to be within small vesicles
(Katz, 1969) that fuse to the presynaptic membrane and then get recycled back into the neuron. However, the
methods of fusion and recycling are still being debated today, particularly at the locality of small hippocampal
neurons which typically contain around 30 functional vesicles (A. M. Aravanis1, n.d.). The full collapse fusion
method (reese, n.d.) is widely accepted and describes the full collapse of the vesicle membrane into the plasma
membrane and the clathrin mediated endocytosis that follows. However the existence and importance of the Kiss and

which allows us to measure the endocytic rate of individual vesicles at these synapses with good time resolution. In
this study they use a pH sensor of exocytosis and endocytosis, a fluorescent protein that reports fusion and retrieval
of vesicles synaptophluorin. developed by meisenbock and colleagues. This provides a fluoresces signal when the
lumen of the vesicle is exposed to the external medium. The results showed firstly that whatever the fate of the
vesicle, the quantal size for retrieval remains unchanged. They suggest that there are three modes of vesicle retrieval
from their findings; firstly, the fast kiss and run method with a selective fusion pore, a slow (8 21 s) compensatory
mode; and a stranded mode of recycling, in which a vesicle is left on the cell surface until a nerve impulse triggers its
retrieval. We have also observed that, in response to a nerve impulse, synapses with low release probability primarily
use the kiss and run mode, whereas high release probability terminals predominantly use the compensatory mode of
vesicle retrieval. Further work with the use of synaptophlourin emerged with the combining of pH sensitive GFP
(MEISENBOCK, n.d.)to synaptophysin a synaptic vesicle protein to from syPhy (lagnado, n.d.) however, during
these experiments, they found only one

Examples Of Closed-Mindedness In The Water Is Wide
The novel, The Water is Wide , by Pat Conroy, tells a story about a man who seeks to do the right thing for his
students and is stopped at every turn by the closed mindedness of the very people he s trying to help. The people who
live on the island of Yamacraw exist within their own personal bubble, and this bubble provides comfort and
community to all those within it, but it is all a lie. Throughout the novel, we are shown the results of being closed
minded upon the people who are ensnared by its grasp, and they clearly show how the illusion of safety and
happiness that being closed minded provides is one of the greatest betrayals in all of human history.
There are two major examples of how closed mindedness is harmful to people In the beginning of the novel, and the
first of which would have to be the author s childhood because, as a child, Conroy was an innocent racist who
indulged in the torment of the black children who live near him. He is never taught that such acts are wrong and
would surely have grown up to become another racist, southern stereotype if it weren t for one thing: college.
College, and more importantly, the people he meets there, is what sets him on the path he takes for the rest of his life
because it is there that his mind is opened to new ways of thinking that he never would have otherwise experienced
through his interaction with others from outside his cultural bubble. In this fresh environment, his newfound slew of

An Essay About Travelling
I try to get away as often as possible because travelling is the most awesome thing to do in this world. Travel is a
powerful tool for personality development. It can teach us a lot about other countries and about ourselves. You can
experience the happiest moments through your limited travels. Travelling introduces us with several ups and downs
of life.
If you are less fortunate to travel, you might feel little strange about what I am discussing. How can travel help me
know the place I already belong? Well we all take things for granted to a certain limit, which includes things like
electricity, transport, food, water and safety. Travelling to a country where these basic things are unavailable will
open your eyes.
If you visit places where people are struggling for basic necessities of life you will realize how much you took things
for granted. Comparing yourself with those people will ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wanted to learn a lot about that language but I was surprised, I learnt things about myself. Travelling helps a lot to
understand yourself better. We live in a busy routine life, which makes it difficult to know about ourselves. It is
necessary to take time in looking at yourself and understand your strengths and weaknesses.
Once you step into a new environment you will be surprised to notice things about yourself, you may find that you
are more confident and open minded, or more extrovert or shy than you have ever thought. In my case I have learnt
that I am more impulsive and knowing this has helped me a lot in developing my personality.
Traveling not only helps us in realizing our own problems but it also helps us to deal with problems while travelling
which helps in building our confidence level. It makes us try new things that we don t usually do in our daily lives. It
helps us to overcome our fears. Travelling makes us happy and enjoy life for what it is and not makes us sad for what

Renewable Energy Is Our Future Energy Sources
Current Events Essay: Renewable Resources Are Our Future Energy Sources
Renewable energy resources are our future energy sources and great strides are being made by using these energy
applications to improve the environmental impact towards protecting Earth. Hossain, K.A. writes in The Journal of
Fundamental Renewable Energy and Applications that there are basically three sources of energy: fossil fuel, nuclear
fuel, and renewable fuel sources (Hossain). Fossil fuels are being used up, nuclear fuel must be created, but
renewable fuel can be regenerated. Renewable energy includes select natural resources, recyclable materials,
alternative fuels, bio refineries, solid biomass, and innovative clean energy (Maczulak). Sources of renewable energy
are being used to convert wind, geothermal, hydropower, ocean, biomass, and solar energy into electricity that can be
used to power our world. Renewable energy is constantly being replenished (Hossain). Renewable energy is
available in plenty and by far most the cleanest sources of energy available on this planet (Hossain). Progress is
being made in each of the areas of renewable energy to improve it and make it usable and accessible to the general
public.
Undoubtedly, the study of natural energy and renewable energy has been around for centuries, nevertheless we are
currently seeing tremendous growth in innovations and availability of renewable energy. The discovery of electricity
dates back to Benjamin Franklin, however

one hand, US employers have added an average of 230,000 jobs per month in 2014, as the unemployment rate has
fallen to a more than six year low. On the other hand, overall wage growth has run stagnant and workforce
participation is at multi decade lows. This likely means demand for discount goods will remain steady for the

Professional Athletes Should Be Allowed At The Olympic Games
With the multi billions of dollars that the Olympics earn and spend, it s certainly is in the best interest of the
International Olympic Committee (IOC) to remain under the circumstances of keeping sport open to professional
athletes, not only financially, but as well as the majority of their viewers. In this position statement, I will use historic
International Olympic Committee guidelines (1964) and official IOC reports as a basis for proving that professional
athletes should be allowed to participate in the Olympic Games.
To successfully understand what differentiates a professional athlete from an amateur athlete, and the issues that
arise from it, we must understand how the International Olympic Committee defines a professional and amateur
athlete. According to the Eligibility Rules of the International Olympic Committee published in 1964,
a person was only eligible to participate in the Olympic games if they were an advocate for sport, without material
gain of any kind. He does not qualify:
a) If he has not a basic occupation designed to insure his insure his present and future livelihood;
b) If he receives or has received remuneration for participation in sport ;
c) If he does not comply with the Rules of the International Federation concerned, and the official interpretations of
this Rule number 26 . (Eligibility Rules of the International Olympic Committee,1964. p. 5)

Theories of Karl Marx
INTRODUCTION
Karl Marx, also a philosopher was popularly known for his theories that best explained society, its social structure, as
well as the social relationships. Karl Marx placed so much emphasis on the economic structure and how it influenced
the rest of the social structure from a materialistic point of view. Human societies progress through a dialectic of
class struggle, this means that the three aspects that make up the dialectic come into play, which are the thesis,
antithesis and the synthesis (Avineri, 1980: 66 69). As a result of these, Marx suggests that in order for change to
come about, a class struggle has to first take place. That is, the struggle between the proletariat and the capitalist
class, the class that controls ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Carver, 1992: 55).
During the industrialisation era, the factories were now in desperate need of a minimally educated workforce as a
result, mandatory and free educational systems were put into place. This is clear example that shows that the
economy was indeed the base for all other structures in the society. The relations of production shapes the
superstructure as it consists of the bourgeoisie exploiting the proletariat. The base of the superstructure shapes the
superstructure (education, family, religion, mass media, politics etc.) and the superstructure itself legitimizes the
base. Law facilitates the need of those who are in power and own the means of production, eg. Apartheid, Group
areas act. The society was governed by rules that were made to suit the upper class.
The model formulated by Karl Marx may also face a lot of criticism. It puts a lot of weight, concentration on the
economy as a whole and pays so little attention to other very influential structures such as religion, politics,
education etc.

Essay about Scholarly Articles vs. Non-Scholarly Articles
When I first started my writing courses, I learned about the difference between scholarly articles and non scholarly
articles. Both Articles have the same information about Alcohol. The difference between the two articles shows if the
article is real as well as which quotes are from other people that relates to the articles. The two articles that I will be
using are from WebMD and Journal of American College Health. Both of the articles were about the differences of
college students typical drinking and celebrating drinking. Typical drinking is when a person has no reason for
drinking and celebrating drinking is when a person drinks for a special occasions. The two articles have many similar
topics; however, the two articles have different ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A non scholarly article also doesn t have a conclusion because it is not an experiment in any way. For instance, the
last line in the article states, The new educational campaign based on this survey will focus on helping students
watch out for each other and teaching students to recognize the warning signs of high risk drinking (WebMD). This
article is probably written by an editor or a free lance writer. The second article is a scholarly article because most
scholarly articles are journal articles. The second article is from Journal of American College Health. This article was
very strong because of evidence towards the information that is given in the article. The second article has an
abstract as well as a conclusion that introduce the situation as well as the results. An example of an abstract is the
purpose of the study was to determine whether students consume alcohol in greater quantities when drinking in
celebration of an event or holiday versus typical drinking use. Celebratory occasions include tailgating during
football games, holidays, and the beginning and ending of academic semesters (Woodyard 533). The abstract of this
article shows the objective other known as abstract which explains what the experiment consist of, participant in the
experiment, the methods that they use and the results of the experiment. The example for conclusion for a scholarly

Each of the children did very well with identifying concepts of a book the first child that we will look at is 6 years
old. She goes to kindergarten all day and has grown up with many books around. She was able to hold the book right
side up for me, show me the front cover, and show me the back cover. She was also able to show me the title page of
the book. Lastly she was able to show me the first page of the text. Although she did do a good job of pointing out
some main parts of the book she did struggle with a couple others. She wasn t able to turn some of the pages of the

oftens varies based on the duration of the treatment and the circumstances surrounding the abuse. In Incidents in the

Power Of Attorneys

I had a conversation with my father, stepmom, and sister about advanced directives and Medical Power of Attorneys.
I first brought up advanced directives and medical power of attorneys by explaining what they are. I then let them
tell me their opinions about them such as its relevance and importance to various situations. My father began
describing his position on advanced directives and Medical Power of Attorneys by stating that he currently doesn t
have either of those documents. He realized that it makes sense for some people to have those documents. Advanced

An automotive business is quite specialized and involves significant upfront capital required for purchase factory
facilities and machine equipment, materials for building the engines, vehicle parts, as well as costs for hiring and
marketing. Because of these high exit barriers, car manufacturer can t just close down their business as it will not be
easy to sell off an automobile facility and equipment to buyers in a different industry.
Economies of scale and experience
These are important barriers of entry especially in current global automotive industry. In order to achieve that,
meaning an automobile company must have the ability to mass produce and sell a large volume of cars to sell in
order to breakeven. Established automotive leaders probably have an advantage over a new entrant in achieving cost
efficiency as they may have overcome this barrier either through strategic partnerships or mergers as sharing of
manufacturing facilities and technology (know how) will help to minimize overhead costs of production.

There Will Come Soft Rains Essay
There Will Come Soft Rains Essay A true piece of writing is a dangerous thing, it can change your life. There Will
Come Soft Rains by Ray Bradbury, 1950 is an exceptional example of A true piece of writing. Therefore, it must be
thoroughly developed and ingeniously provocative; furthermore, the text shows real emotive language to describe its
realistic and stylistic themes which can potentially change the readers mind state on the topic of the text. There Will
Come Soft Rains may seem to be about a house and how everything is automated but that is just a shell holding a
larger scale meaning, a meaning true to the real world. Nuclear devastation within There Will Come Soft Rains is
based upon the tragedy in Japan in 1945 which was the first exposure to nuclear power the world had ever seen, and
this piece of writing captures the destruction of homes and lives in the truest possible way. The reason the nuclear
threat is so true is because in this time its all around us many countries have the power to wipe each other out and
there s always tension. The powerful language describing the house, its contents and its surroundings is ... Show

The nuclear devastation cleared everything other than the house and its contents which somehow survived, all the
contents of the house are machines and are fully automated. The machines within the house carry on the daily routine
of their past masters even though they can t interact with them anymore. The way the machines continue with
tradition and other unique situations makes the environment alien and strange. The introduction of the dying dog is
also very provocative because it symbolises the hopelessness of survival in the entire story and that in this alternate
reality everything living will die. The way everything must come to an end is very true to real life and is completely
lost in some stories where you can easily lose sight of this

Languages and Dialects of Spain
Spain: Languages and Dialects
With a population of approximately 45 million Spaniards and 3.5 million immigrants, Spain is a country of contrasts
where the richness of its culture blends it up with the variety of languages and dialects used. Being one of the largest
economies worldwide, and the second largest country in Europe, Spain is a very appealing destination for tourists as
well as for immigrants from around the globe. Almost all Spaniards are used to speaking at least two different
languages, but protecting and preserving that right has not been easy for them; Spaniards have had to struggle with
war, ignorance, criticism and the governments, in order to preserve and defend what identifies them, and deal with
the consequences ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thanks to those efforts Catalans can be proud to acknowledge that their languages and dialects are the most well
kept, normalized and preserved in the country, their continuous fight since the very end of war and their pride about
using their language has giving them the courage to embrace and protect both, their language and their identity in
such way that, in Catalonia, Castilian is limited to those who are foreigners and Catalan to natives.
Unfortunately, a very different thing has happened in Galicia and Basque Country; since, by the end of war, the
governments of both regions were more concerned about political affairs than preserving languages. In Basque
Country, the reason for these lack of protectionism towards language was the persecution Basques suffer during the
Civil War, they were accused of terrorism whenever they spoke in their own language; they were hunted and killed
for this reason, and all of these actions made them a little afraid of protecting language even years after the end of
war. Something similar happened in Galicia, where there were no efforts to maintain language after the war. It was
years later that governments started to make efforts to preserve and rescue the language and to normalize it and make
it mandatory in each school around the region, but the accurate and pure versions of them got lost with time and
what new generations speak today is a mixture of old and new words adapted from the

Presidential Election Vs. Presidential Elections
As we approach the final day of the US election, polls show vantage for Clinton, the representative of the democrat
party over Trump, the representative of the republic party so far. FiveThirtyEight, Nate Silver s predictions and
polling data for the 2016 presidential election between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, tells, 49.2% of the
popular vote goes for Clinton and 44.5% of the popular vote goes for Trump. These popular votes conducted in
November 2, 2016. Clinton and Trump are the only candidates who remained in the race in the final stages
representing their parties after the other candidates lost chances in competition. They have completed all the three
presidential election debates and they are about 1 week away from the final day of the US election. There are few
states remained undecided about the future president. The undecided and changing states are the ones which will
determine the wining candidate in the final day of the elections. My prediction for the US election result is that
Clinton is going to win the race. The factors shape the election results are the campaign events, tactics and the media
influence. In this paper, I am going to discuss how these two factors are contributing in Clinton campaign then I will
propose a strategy for Trump to help him wining the race. Both candidates had different career route and political
life. ( Hillary ... ) Clinton earned a low degree. She served as a first lady of the United States from 1993 to 2001. She

The Opinion Of Justice Binderoff
The opinion of Justice BINDEROFF: According to Article I, Section 8(3) of the United States Constitution,
Congress is granted the power to regulate commerce with foreign countries, as well as among the several states...;
this enumerated power is what the Commerce Clause describes. This Article has been used to justify many instances
in which Congress has exercised its power to regulate commerce, especially among states. In this regard, there has
been a myriad of instances in which such exercise of this congressional power has been challenged. The first
instance, was in the case of Gibbons v Ogden (1984), where two men who had been given exclusive licenses by the
state of New York to carry passengers to Elizabeth Town from New York, filed a suit in court to block another
steamship operator, Gibbons, who had been newly granted a license to carry passengers on that very route, from
competing with them. In this case, the Chief Justice found out that Congress was right within its powers granted by
the Commerce Clause to grant the ferrying license to Mr. Gibbons. The Chief Justice, Marshal, argued that
commerce was more than just the selling and purchase of goods, but included other parts of the commercial
intercourse between states, such as transport. The argument by the Chief Justice in this context is important in
understanding the extent of commerce that falls under the Commerce Clause as intended by the framers. In order to
understand why Congress was within its powers

  • 2. The Economy Of Honours Demosthenes claimed that the economy of honours was democratic because it allowed the population to reward individuals for helping to preserve democracy through philanthropy. Benefactors or euergetes were encouraged to donate to their city by being rewarded with various honours. The orator opposed Leptines law, which made no one exempt from liturgies as he believed that exemptions were one way of honouring men who had helped to preserve democracy (Demosthenes Against Leptines, 17). One such figure was Leucon, the King of the Bosphorus, who had provided Athens with grain out of his own generosity (Demosthenes 31). Demosthenes also disapproved of Leptines law because it diminished the sovereignty of the demos, removing their freedom to show their appreciation to whoever they chose(Demosthenes 15). In the fourth century BC, especially after the social war, the economy of Athens had significantly decreased in wealth and power since the Periclean golden age and could no longer afford such gestures as paying people to participate in the assembly, aiming to increase political egalitarianism (Finley, Chatto and Windus 1981, p.86). One attempt to increase revenue involved granting honours to people who donated to the state in order to encourage more benefactions. • 3. Questions On The Cavity Wall Insulation Cavity Wall Insulation could be a remedy for the energy poverty undergone by many homes in Ireland. Available statistics show over 60,000 low income and 160,000 other homes suffer from energy poverty. This invariably affects their health, indoor comforts while causing huge wastage of limited earnings. Insulation In general and cavity wall insulation in particular will help you if you are one of the above house holders. SEAI offers special grants for up to Euro 400 to meet your home improvements by cavity wall insulation. The installations have to be carried out by qualified installers as special tools are required to carry this out. Under no circumstance this is a DIY job even for a person good with their hands. Cavity walls A cavity wall can be a construction of two walls with an air gap in between or a wall constructed of hollow blocks. The air gap in this manner should be continuous for any effective cavity wall insulation to be carried out. How are the Cavity walls insulated? The cavity wall insulation is applied in several ways depending on the type and construction of wall, type of insulation selected etc. What ever the material selected the idea is to cut off heat transfer by cutting off the heat transfer primarily, by conduction (ie. by physical contact) and convection (ie. by the movement of hot air (molecules) due to air currents). Naturally unless there is a continuous cavity this process has limited detrimental affect as the heat by air movement is limited to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Time Value of Money (TVM) is the simple concept that a dollar that someone has now is worth more than the dollar that person will receive in the future, this is because the money that the person holds today is worth more because it can be invested and earn interest (Web Finance, Inc., 2007). The following paper will explain how annuities affect TVM problems and investment outcomes. For example, if an asset such as capital is used for one purpose, the opportunity cost is the value of the next best purpose the asset could have been used for (Web Finance, Inc., 2007). Opportunity cost can also be referred to as rate of return. A rate of return is the total income per period per dollar invested (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). To do this the formula i = ( FV / PV) (1/n) 1 can be used (Getobjects.com, 2004). Opportunity cost is the benefit or cash flow forgone as a result of an action (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). An annuity is a sequence of equally spaced levels of cash flows (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). Some examples are car payments, loans, mortgages, or utilities. Annuities can be set monthly, bi monthly, weekly, quarterly or annually. The payments or receipts occur at the end of each period for an ordinary annuity while they occur at the beginning of each period for an annuity due (Getobjects.com, 2004). There are two places that annuities fall under, present and future. The present value of an ordinary annuity is the value of equally spaced payments in the future (Brealey, Myers Marcus, 2003). Which can be calculated as PVoa = PMT [(1 (1 / (1 + i)n)) / i] PVoa = Present Value of an Ordinary Annuity, PMT = Amount of each payment, i = Discount Rate per Period, and n = Number of Periods (Getobjects.com, 2004). Recently, the Dakota Access pipeline has attracted attention from celebrities and other civilians that are not even residents of the Dakotas, such as Shailene Woodley, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jane Fonda, and Mark Ruffalo. Pipelines can be both efficient and dangerous. The efficiency can be read in the ability to transport the oil to other states, while the danger can be read in the environmental damage of an oil spill in a river that people depend on for water in the case the Dakota Access pipeline could damage the Missouri River. The research completely contradicted the studies that showed spanking to be harmful. (3) Some experts take note that 50 years ago the majority of children were spanked by their parents and today there is a significant decline in the amount of children being spanked; but today more children are shown to be aggressive than in the past. There is also a possibility that the bad effects in spanked children could have been caused by the child s personality or the behavioral differences that warranted the spankings. (4) I think the second argument is stronger because it takes in account that all spankings might not be bad or harmful. Many studies against spanking do not differentiate the intensity of a spanking; a simple spanking is a world of difference from child abuse. A lot of regions in the world are still trying to find the balance of power in the international system, which the U.S. often intervenes to provide its brand of global leadership . Some countries like China are emerging as a global power since a few years ago. Subsequently, this will lead to a major threat to the U.S. status as a global major power. The rise of power by China in the international scene signifies the unpredictable nature of the international system. I would argue that the three most critical challenges for the U.S. arising out of this environment are the future world globalization that will cause a conflict between its domestic and foreign policy, the rise of China as a global power, and the ever globalization of terrorism. I believe that the U.S. should be pragmatic in handling its foreign policy and handle each situation independently without a fix doctrine in order to minimize the unintended consequences produced by the globalization of the world. Firstly, the future world globalization provides a challenge in U.S. foreign policy in striking a balance between its domestic need and foreign policy. • 22. Analysis Of Suggestions For The Future Of Social Work Introduction Technological advancements can seem overwhelming today. Most everyone would agree that technological progress can be a good thing, but only when it brings solutions to problems. For instance, it makes us more productive, or it gives us more information more quickly than in the past. Unfortunately, there can be unintended consequences of technology that are detrimental to us. The thing that most concerns me is that we may be losing the concept of the importance of human relationships. When we bury ourselves in technology and cannot live a day, hour or even a minute without it, we can easily lose sight of interpersonal connections. Email and texting are convenient, but we sacrifice other forms of communication like body language, a tone of voice and facial expressions. An interpersonal ... Secondly, we must be diligent not to exploit the vulnerable populations we serve. The enduring challenge in social work is to locate and walk what can be a fine line between valuable innovation that has therapeutic benefits and harmful, possibly exploitative treatment of vulnerable clients (Reamer, 2013; p. 171). We are encouraged to be creative in finding new models and methods of meeting the needs of our clients. We must also be critical thinkers in evaluating our efforts. Good communication is essential for developing and maintaining positive relationships. We must be diligent to develop therapeutic working relationships with our clients, and we should listen in order to identify how best to serve them. Technology can make communication quick and easy, but we must exercise caution. We must always remember the importance of relationships that human touch and interaction are mechanisms for ... Using, five main speeches that Henry V makes. I think that Henry won the hearts of his men by persuasion. Beforehand, I would like to apologize because I may talk about what Henry says but I truly know this is what Shakespeare wrote. In the first speech the Dauphin presented Henry V with a set of tennis balls as a joke and insult. He was suggesting that Henry was a child and not fit for being a king. Repetition is also used in the second and fifth speech. In the second main speech in which Henry exposes the traitors, I think he plays with the traitors before he tells the traitors that he knows about their, sin. Henry loves defeating people at their own game as we saw in the last speech as well. Shakespeare often makes speeches easier to understand by using comparison. In almost all of the speeches, Shakespeare uses examples of objects, which everyone can relate to, or at least can imagine. In this speech he compares the traitors to monsters. Shakespeare also uses comparison greatly in the third speech. The traitors are guilty and we all know that but Henry puts the situation in such words, which makes them appear unforgivable, cruel, Ingrateful, savage, and inhuman creature. Comparing once again, ...coined me into gold, he says it as though Lord Scroop had put a price on their friendship, their extremely deep friendship, That knew st the very bottom of my soul. The cold of winter had finally given way to gentle temperateness, and the spring sun shone over the massive, perfectly manicured lawn, dappling its light through the leafy branches of the grand, towering oak tree. Elana Steinbach sat peacefully thereunder, sipping cool, sweet lemonade for the first time in months as she perused a book. The leaves danced in the cool breeze; the whole environment was quite tranquil. They had lived in a quaint but roomy house, an older style stucco abode with a black, shingled roof. Their neighborhood, in the outskirts of the city, was what Evan used to refer to as a Godilocks neighborhood a happy medium of not too crowded and not too empty. In contrast to Elana s apparent opinion, Evan considered himself rather a bright man. His scores in school had been on par with his peers and he had exhibited a propensity for economics; he could have performed quite well in any number of entrepreneurial endeavors. Instead, his knowledge of economics had led him to idealism: he believed wholeheartedly in the value of the free market, and saw no good reason for society s system of market strangulating quasi capitalism through the assessment of people s worth and artificial allotment of resources thereby. In old times, merits were judged not by the government, but by employers, in true free markets. To question the ways of society was tantamount to the sacrilege of which people spoke in the era of religion, but Evan nonetheless felt that only the stupid could possibly be duped into thinking that the system under which he lived constituted economic ... We would stand a better chance of survival if we accommodated ourselves to this planet and viewed it appreciatively, instead of skeptically and dictatorially. ― E.B. White. These two books with a difference of more than fifty years show us, as some of its characters, Blue Penguin from the book Blue penguin , and a group of plain belly Sneetches from the book The Sneetches and Other Stories are similarly discriminated, but they face the situation differently. Blue penguin accepts himself and the plain belly Sneetches, unlike the blue penguin, try to be like the star belly Sneetches. The story of the Sneetches and the story of the Blue penguin are both charming. One was written in 1961 and the other in 2015. Both stories with their wonderful characters teach us about the influence of discrimination. The sneetches made a mistake trying to change their appearances to fit in the society in which they lived but in the end, both stories showed that it is never too late to change and begin to accept others and more important to accept ourselves. On the other hand, there is the story of the blue penguin who was a strong penguin but he was constantly discriminated by the other penguins to the point of wanting to leave the South Pole. Speech Distracting Essay In the informative speech, I didn t many things that were admired and distracting during the speech, and I hope to improve on those distracting interrupting acts on my next speech. During the speech, I did some items that were a little distracting through the speech. As I watched my speech I noticed I had some awkward pauses, bad transitions, some um s, and a little stuttering throughout the speech. If you look at the speech I tend to stutter which is a little distracting. Talking about the festival Diwali I talk about Rangoli and its colored pattern I stutter and forget what I am explaining. Another thing I could improve on is my transitions when hearing the speech, the transitions are a little rough and not as smooth. During the transition when I switch from talking about the celebrations to the language I say, with all these celebrations it tends to bring many religions and languages together doesn t really make sense and could be spoken a little smoother. Stuttering is also a part of the speech I did during the speech which distracting. Throughout the speech, I stutter during different parts and one of those parts being when I am talking about the different traditions when eating Indian food. I say, some of the traditions when people eat in India are well we all we eat on our hands, which is a little annoying. During the speech, I also said um s during the speech. When citing my source on languages I said some ums, repeating the citation from the notecard. During the speech I had a little tough time with stuttering at moments, saying some um s, bad transitions, and some pauses in the future I tend to improve it for the next speech. During the speech, I was also a good speaker in many ways. I had a good voice projection, my hand moment was consistent, I was always facing the audience and held eye contact, and had facial expressions to emphasize the importance of a topic. Right off the bat when I was explaining my citation saying According to the U.S Census Bureau there are alone 5.7% Asian s in the United States, I was pointing my hands to make sure everyone was paying attention to the numbers. Kiss And Run Fusion Kiss and Run vs Full Fusion cell cycling at small hippocampal neurons The highly important transmission of neurotransmitter at chemical synapses was found to be within small vesicles (Katz, 1969) that fuse to the presynaptic membrane and then get recycled back into the neuron. However, the methods of fusion and recycling are still being debated today, particularly at the locality of small hippocampal neurons which typically contain around 30 functional vesicles (A. M. Aravanis1, n.d.). The full collapse fusion method (reese, n.d.) is widely accepted and describes the full collapse of the vesicle membrane into the plasma membrane and the clathrin mediated endocytosis that follows. However the existence and importance of the Kiss and Run method ... In this study they use a pH sensor of exocytosis and endocytosis, a fluorescent protein that reports fusion and retrieval of vesicles synaptophluorin. developed by meisenbock and colleagues. This provides a fluoresces signal when the lumen of the vesicle is exposed to the external medium. The results showed firstly that whatever the fate of the vesicle, the quantal size for retrieval remains unchanged. They suggest that there are three modes of vesicle retrieval from their findings; firstly, the fast kiss and run method with a selective fusion pore, a slow (8 21 s) compensatory mode; and a stranded mode of recycling, in which a vesicle is left on the cell surface until a nerve impulse triggers its retrieval. We have also observed that, in response to a nerve impulse, synapses with low release probability primarily use the kiss and run mode, whereas high release probability terminals predominantly use the compensatory mode of vesicle retrieval. Further work with the use of synaptophlourin emerged with the combining of pH sensitive GFP (MEISENBOCK, n.d.)to synaptophysin a synaptic vesicle protein to from syPhy (lagnado, n.d.) however, during these experiments, they found only one ... The people who live on the island of Yamacraw exist within their own personal bubble, and this bubble provides comfort and community to all those within it, but it is all a lie. Throughout the novel, we are shown the results of being closed minded upon the people who are ensnared by its grasp, and they clearly show how the illusion of safety and happiness that being closed minded provides is one of the greatest betrayals in all of human history. There are two major examples of how closed mindedness is harmful to people In the beginning of the novel, and the first of which would have to be the author s childhood because, as a child, Conroy was an innocent racist who indulged in the torment of the black children who live near him. Hossain, K.A. writes in The Journal of Fundamental Renewable Energy and Applications that there are basically three sources of energy: fossil fuel, nuclear fuel, and renewable fuel sources (Hossain). Fossil fuels are being used up, nuclear fuel must be created, but renewable fuel can be regenerated. Renewable energy includes select natural resources, recyclable materials, alternative fuels, bio refineries, solid biomass, and innovative clean energy (Maczulak). Karl Marx placed so much emphasis on the economic structure and how it influenced the rest of the social structure from a materialistic point of view. Human societies progress through a dialectic of class struggle, this means that the three aspects that make up the dialectic come into play, which are the thesis, antithesis and the synthesis (Avineri, 1980: 66 69). During the industrialisation era, the factories were now in desperate need of a minimally educated workforce as a result, mandatory and free educational systems were put into place. The relations of production shapes the superstructure as it consists of the bourgeoisie exploiting the proletariat. The base of the superstructure shapes the superstructure (education, family, religion, mass media, politics etc.) and the superstructure itself legitimizes the base. Law facilitates the need of those who are in power and own the means of production, eg. Apartheid, Group areas act. The society was governed by rules that were made to suit the upper class. There Will Come Soft Rains may seem to be about a house and how everything is automated but that is just a shell holding a larger scale meaning, a meaning true to the real world. Nuclear devastation within There Will Come Soft Rains is based upon the tragedy in Japan in 1945 which was the first exposure to nuclear power the world had ever seen, and this piece of writing captures the destruction of homes and lives in the truest possible way. Thanks to those efforts Catalans can be proud to acknowledge that their languages and dialects are the most well kept, normalized and preserved in the country, their continuous fight since the very end of war and their pride about using their language has giving them the courage to embrace and protect both, their language and their identity in such way that, in Catalonia, Castilian is limited to those who are foreigners and Catalan to natives. Unfortunately, a very different thing has happened in Galicia and Basque Country; since, by the end of war, the governments of both regions were more concerned about political affairs than preserving languages. In Basque Country, the reason for these lack of protectionism towards language was the persecution Basques suffer during the Civil War, they were accused of terrorism whenever they spoke in their own language; they were hunted and killed for this reason, and all of these actions made them a little afraid of protecting language even years after the end of war. Something similar happened in Galicia, where there were no efforts to maintain language after the war. It was years later that governments started to make efforts to preserve and rescue the language and to normalize it and make it mandatory in each school around the region, but the accurate and pure versions of them got lost with time and what new generations speak today is a mixture of old and new words adapted from the ... The Opinion Of Justice Binderoff The opinion of Justice BINDEROFF: According to Article I, Section 8(3) of the United States Constitution, Congress is granted the power to regulate commerce with foreign countries, as well as among the several states...; this enumerated power is what the Commerce Clause describes. This Article has been used to justify many instances in which Congress has exercised its power to regulate commerce, especially among states. In this regard, there has been a myriad of instances in which such exercise of this congressional power has been challenged. The first instance, was in the case of Gibbons v Ogden (1984), where two men who had been given exclusive licenses by the state of New York to carry passengers to Elizabeth Town from New York, filed a suit in court to block another steamship operator, Gibbons, who had been newly granted a license to carry passengers on that very route, from competing with them. In this case, the Chief Justice found out that Congress was right within its powers granted by the Commerce Clause to grant the ferrying license to Mr. Gibbons. The Chief Justice, Marshal, argued that commerce was more than just the selling and purchase of goods, but included other parts of the commercial intercourse between states, such as transport. The argument by the Chief Justice in this context is important in understanding the extent of commerce that falls under the Commerce Clause as intended by the framers.
