The American Dream For A Long Time Essay
House, a shelter for people, which is one of a basic requirement for human survival in today s world.
According to Andriotis (2014) and Shlay (2006), homeownership is regarded as an aspect of the
American dream for a long time (p.1) (p.527). The American dream, a pursuit that a large number of
US citizens seek, require individuals work hard to achieve it. In other words, owing a property has
long been a gateway to the American dream. Individuals have possession of the house if they have
enough money to afford the payment on a home and be willing to purchase it. Otherwise, people need
to rent a house to guarantee that they have a relatively fixed shelter. However, there are the limited
rights for the tenants, and thus they have to depend on the decision of owners, whereas the landlords
have the power to make a decision on the property since they have the housing ownership. Hence,
whether to buy or rent have become a fundamental problem that plagues the individuals. Elsinga and
Hoekstra (2005) point that the homeownership not only in favor of personal, but also benefit the
community (p.403). Therefore, buying a house is over than renting since it brings tremendous benefits
to individuals. Specifically, purchasing a property is a desirable option that generates tax benefit, build
self confidence for owners, and profits the construction of the community harmony rather than renting
a house. While it is true that owning a house generates numbers of undeniable benefits,

National Flood Insurance Program
What is the National Flood Insurance Program and What is it Doing for Me The National Flood
Insurance Program (NFIP) was create by Congress through the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968,
and now resides underneath the cognizance of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
I would analyze, that a majority of the homeowners insurance policies do not cover flood, thus, the
need for the NFIP, supplemental insurance. The need of flood insurance, the reasons for having
supplemental flood insurance , what the government is doing to protect the citizens against flood and

flood risk areas are broken down into High risk, Moderate and Low risk areas with many layered
categories of all three levels. After re reading my Preferred Risk Policy/Flood Policy Declaration, for
my houses in Hawaii and Colorado, they both fell under Flood Risk Zone X, which is classified as a
moderate flood hazard area. For example, my home in Colorado, the flood map area is 08041C0575F,
and since it is not classified for risk for floods, it was classified as an X. Through the Flood Insurance
Rates Map (FIRM), which is the The official map of a community on which FEMA has delineated
both the special hazard areas and the risk premium zones applicable to the community. (fema.gov) So
with a $20,000 coverage for the building and $8,000 coverage for personal belongings, both with a
$1,000 deductible, our yearly premium is $417.00. I thought this was an acceptable premium
considering the unknown risk, but I should be more cognizant in my community to get an actual
assessment, and hopefully get a reduced premium, by providing affordable insurance for property
owners and by encouraging communities to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations.
(fema.gov) Some of things I think off the top of my head that the communities can do in order for
their residents to be eligible are to install proper water run offs in the streets, have some sort of green
plan for the area, Furthermore, my Colorado address is shown on the FIRM, and are the areas between
the limits of the base flood and the 0.2 percent annual chance (or 500 year) flood (fema.gov) meaning

Explain The Two Step Flow Theory
The Two Step Flow theory dates back to the 1940s where Paul Lazarsfeld, Bernard Berelson and
Hazel Gaudet wrote a book called People s Choice that summarized the analysis of the November
1940 Presidential elections. The research revealed that people are more likely to be influenced by
other people rather than the mass media. They called these other people; opinion leaders. (Scannel,
2007). The theory is a key theory in understanding people s decision making processes, in this case
being the voting behaviours. The theory suggests that firstly, opinion leaders pay close attention to
mass media and then they pass on their interpretation of media messages to the public, influencing
their decisions. Unlike the hypodermic needle theory, the two step flow theory acknowledges that
audiences are active participants in the communication process and are seen as a part of the society.
Having the theory defined, the question that the paper aims to dissects is how relevant is this theory in
the world of modern communications today? In a paper presented in the 20th Annual Worldwide Web
Conferencing in 2011, researchers who focussed on the social ... Show more content on

technology and social media phenomena to politics, advertising, marketing and so on. The two step
flow theory led to multi step flow model referred to as Diffusion of Innovation which is defined as the
social process of how innovations become known and are spread throughout a social system over time
. (Severin and Tankard, 2001). The two step flow theory is hence a key theory in not only
understanding and analysing decision making and interpersonal communication but helps put
perspective in understanding mass communication and its various other

Optimism In Romeo And Juliet
Being optimistic is being hopeful and having a positive attitude about the future. One can be
optimistic in any situations with any emotions, it depends on the view and personality of the person in
mind. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, two individuals from different worlds find a way to
come together even in the face of their families altercations to find true love. The play, Romeo and
Juliet, expresses a rather optimistic view of life. In the play, the two lovers try to keep their lives
positive despite what is going on in their personal lives. Juliet is in disbelief when she learns that her
love Romeo is a montague and she is not allowed with him. While at the feast in the Capulet house,
Juliet talks to the nurse after meeting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Nurse acts like a messenger for Juliet and is out of breath from having to walk through Verona.
After receiving good news from Romeo the Nurse heads back to the Capulet home and says to Juliet, I
am aweary. Give me leave awhile. Fie, how my bones ache! What a jaunt have I! (2.5.25). This
represents that the Nurse has become tired and needs to relax after Juliet s requests for her to speak
with Romeo. Though the nurse feels weak and needs some time to settle down a bit but instead she
explains all of what happened to Juliet. This is an example of staying calm and happy when you are
stressed or down. Romeo s new love interest brings a sense of distress to the Friar. As Romeo tells
Friar Lawrence he is in love with the forbidden the Friar says, But come, young waverer, come, go
with me, In one respect I ll thy assistant be, For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your
households rancor to pure love (2.3.85). The Friar is aware of the feud between the families, but
instead of becoming worried about this situation the Friar although feeling stressed agrees to marry the
two. The Friar has hope that the marriage could reunite the Capulet and Montague. He always keeps
his hope throughout the play. The Friar acts as a friend to Juliet when Romeo was exiled. When Friar
Lawrence hears the news that Romeo has been exiled he comes up with a plan for Juliet and says,
Hold. Get you gone. Be strong and prosperous In this resolve (4.1.126). The Friars only son like figure
has been sent away indefinitely and still instead of being full of anger he simply helps Juliet without a
thought of his own feelings. Friar Lawrence sees only the good in every situation and figures out way
to make it better, like giving Juliet the potion in hopes of bringing Romeo back so they can run away.

Pros And Cons Of Public Transportation
I m sure everyone, at least once in their life, has found themselves in a situation, deciding on whether
they should drive or opt to take a public transit. Like many other subjects, there has been and most
likely always will be long lived debates over which method of transportation is truly the best choice.
Naturally, most people are constantly looking for the smartest and cheapest option as well as the most
popular option, but that isn t always the easiest decision. Some factors such as cost, convenience,
impact on the environment, safety can weigh in on the choice between the driving or public transit. I
want to present an argument both for and against each option of transportation for others to take into
consideration for their choices. In the factual sense of this debate, the better choice leans more
obviously towards the public transit, but for some people, like myself, the vote of driving your own
car may present itself as the most popular choice for many of its own reasons. So, this brings me to
my simple question: which do you prefer taking the bus or driving yourself?
For those of you who choose public transit as their preferred method of transportation, the pros and
cons may seem like an endless mountain to sort through. Let s start with the pros.
Toner 2
Cost is obviously one of the biggest reasons people take the bus because the expenses that can build
up due to insurance, repairs, and other maintenance costs are not the passenger s responsibility. Stress
may seem to melt away at the fact that while on a bus you aren t worried about being the one driving
through traffic jams, as well as at the fact that you can freely and safely occupy yourself with things
such as reading, texting, watching the passing scenery, or even sleeping until you reach your
destination. Another pro could be that, assuming you re not socially awkward, you would most
definitely meet some interesting characters riding along with you and may even be invited into some
fun conversations.
On the other hand, you may very well be that socially awkward person who is uncomfortable when
people invade your personal bubble uninvited. Therefore, interaction with other human beings in such
a confined space could also be deemed a con

The Fountainhead and Dead Poets Society
Qualifications of a Proud Man Pride, then, seems to be a sort of crown of the virtues; for it makes
them greater, and it is not found without them. Therefore it is hard to be truly proud; for it is
impossible without nobility and goodness of character (ARISTOTLE) writes Aristotle in chapter 3 of
his Nichomachean Ethics. In this excerpt, Aristotle describes the pride and characteristics of a proud
man or great souled man. Considering the characters of Howard Roark and John Keating, the two
seem to be exemplary examples of Aristotle s proud man. Although different in many ways, these two
men qualify greatly for the role of a proud man because of their similar basic beliefs of not aiming at
things commonly held in honour, to ask for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mr. Keating on the other hand asked one of his students to read an excerpt to the class in order to
express his feelings on life. The excerpt read, To put to route all that was not life; and not, when I had
come to die, discover I had not lived. Keating stressed to his students the importance of living your
life to the fullest. He taught them that if they aren t doing what they love to do then life wasn t worth
living. Neil Perry, a student of Mr. Keating, took this lesson to heart and took his own life when his
father forbid him from doing what he loved. He felt that his life should not be lived if he could not
pursue his love for acting. Concluding, by doing what he loved, Mr. Keating taught the boys to do
what they love in their life and to seize the day. Howard Roark risked his own life because he couldn t
live if his principles were going to be compromised. Overall, Roark and Keating are extraordinary
characters of a proud man in the way that they live their life to the fullest potential. To conclude, pride
is concerned with honour on the grand scale, as has been said by Aristotle. Howard Roark and John
Keating qualify as examples to be Aristotle s proud man or great souled man because of their
undeniably similar characteristics. The two men excel in which other people mainly do not. They are
men of few deeds but great and notable ones. Roark and Keating have the generous

Relationship Marketing Approaches in Services Marketing

Over the last years the focus of marketing has changed from transactional to relationship marketing
because companies realized that is cheaper to keep old customers rather than attracting new ones. Also
this shift has occurred because of the intense rivalry that can be noticed in every industry. Besides its
main goal of retaining customers and encouraging repeats, relationship marketing also creates value
through relationships between buyers and sellers as well inside the organisation, or external with
competitors, suppliers and distributors. A develop definition of relationship marketing by Christian

Improving customer satisfaction and longevity, providing a competitive edge and reducing marketing
expenses are just relationship marketing strategies that have a great impact on a company. By adopting
this marketing pattern, there are created benefits, not only for the service firm but also for its loyal
customers, such as lower marketing expenditures, stability, new barriers for new competitors and
reduced uncertainty. A big advantage for the relationship marketing approach is that it lowers the
operating costs. Having loyal customers means that the company gets to know its buyers more and
more with each transaction. Being based on a relationship approach, a company requires less
information about the customer because with each encounter with him, the firm adds new information
to the customer database. Strategically, a company based on the relationship marketing, has long term
customers increasing their profits. Having more advantages for the customers than a traditional
transactional marketing based company, a relationship marketing approach confers the company the
possibility of charging more for their services without affecting the number of customers. A good
example is the medical industry where a known individual might be willing to pay more for a doctor
they know rather than choosing a cheaper competitor. In the services market a company may even
charge more their premium customers for

(40) The authors also note that failure to address the bullying behavior can lead to adverse
consequences for the consumer, the organization, and the profession. (40)
This article looks at challenging behavior in the clinical setting, and gives advice on how to develop
an Action Plan for Education and Training. The author looks at challenging behavior from more of an
interactional viewpoint instead of a judgmental viewpoint. The goal is to understand what instigated
the behavior, and why certain reactions caused the situation to escalate. The key to handling
challenging behavior is education and training. The training should include different ways to deal with
the staff s response to the challenging behavior as well as the environmental influences that might
influence the behavior. Through increased education and training, the staff will gain a better
understanding about how the behavior affects them personally, how the situation could have provoked
the behavior, and how to prevent environmental influences from provoking a challenging behavioral
response.
The study confirms the fact that there has to be a planned educated approach to manage any difficult
employee or patient situation. Taking an educated approach instead of a judgmental approach will help
promote solutions that are more effective, communication, and actions.

Responding to Wii Essay
Responding to the Wii Group Case Writeup

In the Harvard Business Review case Responding to the Wii, Kazuo Hirai was faced with an
interesting dilemma. Hirai, the chief executive of Sony Computer Entertainment Inc. faced pressure
due to Sony s Playstation 3 video game console losing market share to the Nintendo Wii. Hirai faced a
major business decision in deciding how Sony should respond to the cheaper, more interactive, family
oriented Nintendo Wii.

This is especially prevalent within the companies that own the majority of the market share. While
continuous improvement is necessary on current products, it is also crucial to be bold and thinking
outside of the box.
As mentioned, the common theme across the video game industry has been creating an innovative
product and then simply improving the system over time. While that has been proven to work in
instances in the past, there is a lot to learn from the creation of Nintendo s Wii. Nintendo, like the rest
of the company s used the same ideology of continuing improvements to an already developed product
until they took a bold move of introducing a whole new game console. When Nintendo introduced the
Wii, they took a risk because it was not similar to their previous game consoles. They saw an
opportunity to bring something new to the video game industry that could create value to not only the
originally targeted market, but also a much larger market.
The Nintendo Wii is a prime example of how a company can serve their already targeted market and
also see the opportunity to expand into additional segments. Much of Wii s success was due to the fact
that it appealed to a large audience. Nintendo gained a market advantage as first movers in this new
era of technological and conceptual change in the video game industry. The now enabled users to be
more active and engaged which revolutionized the way consumers thought about gaming systems.

Emotional Child Abuse
Emotional Child Abuse
By: Goddess Johnson
The term emotional child abuse didn t even exist when I was growing up. But that didn t change the
devastating outcome the effects were severe, ever present, and followed me into adulthood. Emotional
abuse is the cornerstone of all the abuses because emotional abuse is always present during physical
child abuse, child neglect, and sexual child abuse, and it is the only abuse that can stand on its own. It
does not have to accompany any of the other abuses.
What Is Emotional Abuse?

Somewhere Between Jim Crow By Lawrence Bobo Analysis
Somewhere Between Jim Crow Post racialism
In the article Somewhere between Jim Crow Post racialism the author Lawrence Bobo reflects on the
racial justice struggle from the mid 1960 s in the South. Post racialism in America was hoped to
collapse after the election of the first African American President Barack Obama of the United States
in 2008. Post racialism is defined to signal signs of racial change of a hopeful trajectory for events and
social trends (Bobo, 2006, p.93). Three key questions discussed were racial boundaries, the degree of
racial economic inequality, and what is known about changes in racial attitudes from the 1960 s in the
United States to 2017.
Racial boundaries have changed in the way it presents itself but it has not collapsed (Finsterbusch,
2016, p. 94). The Census is now designing and acknowledging the mixture and heterogeneity in
America s difference of a racial background due to sexual relations. Post racialism is defined by Paul
as a set of discussions that remain unconvinced of the efficacy of race (Paul, 2014, p. 702). Paul also

The Negative Impacts Of Integrity In Society
Brené Brown once said, Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what
is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them. Integrity
is threatened everyday by three major combatants: cheating, lying, and plagiarizing. Many do not
realize the extent of their actions. Life is like the domino effect: an action always affects someone
else. When a person lacking integrity makes a decision, the people affected are often wounded in the
process. A lack of integrity leads to a life of negative impacts with the three main threats to integrity
being cheating, lying, and plagiarizing. Cheating is universal, and it is very similar worldwide.
According to the LA Times, Teachers say that hiding cheat sheets in socks, copying neighbors answers
and scribbling notes on walls are the most common tactics. Test papers routinely are leaked as well,
often by low level school employees who sell them for the equivalent of a few dollars, and sometimes
by teachers or administrators whose professional standing rises if students perform well (Shashank
Bengali 3). This shows that children were not only ones benefitting from cheating. The children
themselves benefitted by passing the tests, but the others benefitted in monetary and social standings.
Although children benefit immediately from cheating, there are negative impacts in the long run. In an
article by Bengali, Madhukar Yadhav says, ...they are used to

Mississippi Burning History
Mississippi Burning was directed by Alan Parker and written by Chris Gerolmo, their aim for this

lead actors Alan Ward (Willem Dafoe) and , Rupert Anderson( Gene Hackman), Mississippi at that
time was known for extreme racism and efforts to segregate blacks and whites in every way possible.

The plot was entertaining while being very educational. What stood out to me was how relevant this
movie is even today. A black church in Mississippi was set on fire in 2015 as a result of a hate crime,
this goes back to the strategies used in the 50s and 60s to invoke fear simmon from Nydaily news
states. Even today we can learn from the actions taken during that time and reflect on the issues of
today as they have not gone away completely. The director s accurate references which showed though
the characters actions and word choice shed light on what was dark and ugly time in history, the
injustices that African Americans had to face were displayed fairly in spite of the additional drama . I
was able to empathise and grow a deeper interest for this particular time period because the movie was
so moving and emotion for me as a young black person. Although there were a couple exaggerations
when it came to some events, I felt that it added to to the movie rather than taking away credibility.

strength and hero soul incomparable to any individual. The decisions he had built affected his
potential. These decisions took play in the end of the story. Throughout Beowulf s life he engages in
threats that many individuals cannot even accept. He lives by honor and glory and desires power in
anyone thing he accomplishes. The most abundant respect to Beowulf was to sacrifice his life in a
chivalrous attack. He fought with brutality, unconcerned if he lives or dies. Behavior that is admired is
the path to power among people everywhere (line 25). Admiration of Beowulf s victory has reached
throughout all territories, and the public admired him everywhere. These great successful battles he
has been through won him strong attention, and also made him have plenty of pride, which made him
very confident. Good and evil walk besides every human being. They are two aspects of life argued by
many but implied be several. The epic Beowulf illustrates both sides of these manners. The attempts
Beowulf experienced analyzes his honor and his power to act upon darker forces. Many demons and
monsters interfere with Beowulf, which causes the reader to involve into the battle. Through imagery
and symbolism, Beowulf presents a differentiation between good and evil, showing that good will

Analysis Of The Love Potion
The love potion will produce all the effects of idealized romantic love.
Diana does not love Alan the way he wants her to, so Alan goes to visit the old man and he says,
however gay and giddy she is, she will change altogether. She will want nothing but solitude and you.
(24) With Alan giving Diana the potion it will turn her into Alan s expectation of love. When Alan
gives her the potion the old man begins to explain how she will change. She will want to know all you
do, the old man continues to say, All that has happened to you during the day. Every word of it. She
will want to know what you are thinking about, why you smile suddenly, why you are looking sad.
(32) That sort of love, including the physical part of it, is very appealing for a while. However, giving
Diana this potion will begin to make her devoted. The old man explains, How carefully she will look
after you! She will never allow you to be tired, to sit in a draught, to neglect your food. If you are an
hour late, she will be terrified. She will think that you are killed, or that s some siren had caught you.
(34) These two lovers will not be able to get enough of each other. Alan s love for Diana is an illusion,
many people call this the honeymoon phase.
Alan comes looking for a love potion but will later be looking for a death potion. Love is cheap but
death is not. Alan and the old man are having a conversation, the old man begins to say, That is just a
dollar (42) He is implying that he

Shema Yisrael Summary
At the beginning of the movement, the mezzo soprano soloist sings the text from the Shema Yisrael,
an ancient prayer from Deuteronomy Chapter 6. The Shema Yisrael is considered by many to be the
most essential prayer of all of Judaism, and is an affirmation of God s singularity and kingship. It is
not only recited daily by traditional observing Jews, but also, according to the My Jewish Learning
website at the climactic moment of the final prayer of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement and
considered the holiest day of the year, and traditionally as the last words before death.
The words for the beginning portion of the prayer that Ešenvalds uses for the pieces are as follows;
Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai echad. The translation is, Hear, O Israel, The Lord our God,
the Lord is One. To hear how the Shema Yisrael might be sung at Jewish religious gathering, click

Basically, Ešenvalds employs every tone between E and B. I think the employment of this dissonance,
especially with the interval of a major or minor second, is Ešenvalds building upon the theme of
consonant and dissonant intervals to describe a world in conflict. I believe Jesus, in the words
paradise, may be using a slightly dissonant chord because he acknowledges the present suffering, the
pain he and the other thieves are experiencing on the cross.. However, the glimmer in the chord that
the second gives, a technique often used by composers such as Lauridsen, harkens to a beauty and
light in heaven. Also, Em/B with added second and fourth Jesus is not ignoring the suffering that is
currently taking place, but there is beauty and comfort to the

Tennessee Williams Presentation Of Desire In A Streetcar...
Explore Tennessee Williams presentation of desire.
Desire is hinted at in the play s title, A Streetcar Named Desire , it became the moving force and
central to the play s development. Desire ultimately carries Blanche to her fate in scene 5. Tennessee
Williams presents desire in many forms but the most prominent and notable being sexual desire lust.
Lust is the main form of desire among the main characters.
Blanche is the character that is mostly associated with desire as she rode a streetcar named Desire then
one called cemeteries . By this Williams is possibly saying that death is the inevitable destinations for
those who allow their worldly desires to lead them. Blanche s experimental sexual desires were ma de
a taboo by her upbringing and culture resulting in her suppressing her desires. Her then denial of these
desires caused her to be driven out of her home town and throw herself at younger boys. We also learn
later in the play that desire is one of her ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although they are speaking metaphorically it is clear what each of them are referring to. Her face is
serene , the apology sex Stella and Stanley have leaves the glow on her face. Her attitude implies that
she has completely forgotten about the abuse the night before. Stella s own sexual desires blind her
from seeing the truth about her husband, an abusive animal. A sky of summer brilliance , the pathetic
fallacy in the scene reflects Stella s blushing mood which only reinforces how her lust has made her to
forget the cruelty she induced. Almost narcotized tranquillity this metaphor of her appearance suggest
that her sexual desire is like a drug. The comparison of drugs and sex is made again when Blanche
says your fix is worse than mine which shows how sexual desire is like an addiction for both sisters.
The force of desire drives Stella to abandon herself and her integrity to her passion for

Global Flow of Silver Dbq Essays
The global flow of silver managed to redefine the social structure in many societies, as well as
dramatically altered the basis of the economy in many European and Asian countries. Despite the
economic change that came from the mass production of silver and its use as a standard currency, the
growth of the silver industry brought as much change socially and culturally as it brought economic
transformation. Many people viewed the conversion to silver being the standardized currency as a
huge hindrance to their daily lives, but the silver industry brought wealth to many societies and
became a necessity in trade. On one side of things, the flow of silver throughout the world brought a
wave of economic change, as mentioned in documents 3,5,6, ... Show more content on

Documents 3,5,6, 7 and 8 all mention how the economy changed dramatically due to the arrival and
growth of silver as a currency. In document 3, a Ming dynasty court official writes about how the
silver coin is hard to come by because the government is hoarding all of it. They take silver for taxes
but do not redistribute it to the people. He is writing this because he is trying to convince the emperor
to distribute the silver more appropriately to the people, and because his family is obviously not doing
well financially. He is a court official who most likely has small influence in the government and
writes in hopes of getting the emperor to consider spreading the wealth to the lower classes of China,
to save his family, and other families like his. Document 5 expresses a different, but somewhat related
view about how silver has become a hindrance to regular business interactions, because customers can
no longer trade items of their own to purchase goods, they have to go through a lengthy process to pay
everything in silver. Document 6 shows a counter point of view about the wealth that the mining of
silver has brought to Spain. Document 7 is a report written to convince the emperor of China that there
is much wealth to be found in foreign trade, because of how much silver some countries will pay for
Chinese goods. Finally, document 8 examines how European countries are able to purchase Asian
commodities freely because of their immense supply

Is Children’s Development a Universal Staged Process or a...
Is Children s development a universal staged process or a social and cultural process?
There are three main approaches to child development, the scientific, the social constructionist and the
applied approach. Each of these approaches look at children s development from a different stand
point. I will go on to explore each approach in turn and how they can help us answer the above
question.
The scientific approach to child development seeks to explain the facts about child development. It
does this by devising theories which are then tested through observations and experiments. A classic
example of this is Jean Piaget (1896 1890) who was one of the most influential theorists in child
development. Piaget built up a theory about how ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Different cultures, religions and social economic conditions have different expectations and beliefs
around childhood. These have also been different throughout history. For example in Victorian Britain,
children were expected to work in the home, field, streets or in factories. However in modern Britain
we expect our children to spend much of their childhood learning at school. Another example is, Maya
s (U212 Video 1, band 1) experiences of childhood in the poor area Chittagong being different to the
twins Yasir and Yamin s experiences in middle class Chittagong. Each have different expectations of
their roles within society according to their social boundaries, gender, family and beliefs.
Central to the social constructionist approach is the concept of competing discourses of childhood. A
discourse is a particular way of thinking or a particular view point that is influenced by our gender,
language, history, beliefs, experiences and social boundaries. There are numerous discourses but a
romantic discourse sees children as inherently good; a child would only do terrible things if damaged
in some way. Contrary to this is the puritanical discourse which sees the child as inherently evil, doing
evil things because they are wicked and need punishing. Using the social constructionist view allows
us to recognise that a child who is a killer can be seen through these two very

Individuality versus sociality in learning capabilities...
Over the centuries, wild animals have always fascinated humans. As a result, wild animals have been
put on display, but the logistics of these displays have changed throughout the years to resemble zoos
humans now visit (Rutledge et al, 2014). Enclosures were once very small and did not provide the
opportunity for stimulation that the animals need. There has been a shift from small, sterile enclosures
to larger, more natural enclosures (Shepherdson, 1998). This change in the care of captive animals was
caused by an interest in studying the animals (Shepherdson, 1998). Studies have revealed the
importance of providing captive animals with an environment in which behaviors typical of the
captive species, when in the wild, can be exercised in the enclosures in which they are housed
(Shepherdson, 1998). By mimicking a natural habitat, scientists are able to observe more natural
behavior. If enrichment is not provided, stereotypic behavior such as pacing, aggression, and abnormal
behavior, may occur. In order to discourage these stereotypic behaviors, zoologists have begun
implementing enrichment programs to stimulate the captive animals to exhibit more natural behaviors
(Swaisgood and Shepherdson, 2005). Enrichment works to diminish stereotypic behavior and increase
the natural behavior of animals by sculpting the environment of captive animals to provide them with
an environment more similar to that of their wild habitat. Additionally, it provides different

The proposed sale of Hershey Foods Corporation (HFC) during the summer of 2002 captured
headlines and imaginations. After all, Hershey was an American icon, and when the company s largest
shareholder, the Hershey Trust Company (HSY), asked HFC management to explore a sale, the story
drew national and international attention. The company s unusual governance structure put the
Hershey Trust s board in the difficult position of making both an economic and a governance decision.
On the one hand, the board faced a challenging economic decision that centered on determining
whether the solicited bids provided a fair premium for HFC ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

To facilitate the valuation aspect of the analysis, free cash flow forecasts are provided in case Exhibit
10 for Hershey as a stand alone entity. Most students should find it easy to calculate a value for
Hershey using the discounted cash flow (DCF) method and industry comparable multiples, which also
are provided. As with any valuation case, students must make judgments about the appropriate capital
structure, the weighted average cost of capital (WACC), sales growth, and the terminal growth rate.
Once students have explored the value drivers for Hershey though sensitivity analysis, they may then
evaluate the bids from both Nestlé S.A. Cadbury Schweppes PLC (NCS) and the Wm. Wrigley Jr.
Company. They will want to examine whether the bids are fair from the perspective of HFC
shareholders and whether the synergies assumed by the bidders in their offer prices are reasonable.
The instructor may vary the emphasis on different issues by altering the study questions and by the
choice of video clips. The case is well suited for courses and classes concerning corporate governance,
valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate social responsibility. The following objectives of
the case allow students to:

French Revolution Turning Point Essay
This was a turning point in the revolution, when the government lost most of its control over the
population. Rights of Man and Citizen was also adopted to forestall the violence, as work on a
Constitution slowly began. August 27, 1789, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was
adopted by the National Constituent Assembly (History.com). These Enlightenment ideas such as
freedom of speech were radical at that time. The declaration professed its commitment to discard the
archaic ancien regime with a new order. This new government would be established on freedom of

War was declared on Austria and Prussia in 1972 by the new legislative Assembly (History.com). They
believed that French emigres were arranging regressive counter revolutionary alliances. By declaring
war they also hoped to spread their ideals across Europe, forcibly (History.com). This was a glimpse
of the insanity that the new government was going to bring to France. In the heart of France the revolt
had gripped the nation, as the political disaster took an extreme turn. This occurred when a rising
group of insurgents, led by a radical group called the Jacobins, attacked the royal residence at the
Tuileries Palace (History.com). They seized the king and his family on August 10,1792 during this
raid. During the following month, Parisians revolutionaries murdered hundreds of accused counter
revolutionaries, during a surge of violence. At this stage the old government had lost all power of
command and they were simply trying to save themselves from the mess they had made. The
legislative Assembly was replaced by a new institution that commanded the abolition of the monarchy
and the formation of the French Republic. This organization was named the National

John Keats And John Keats
Keats Keatsian or even the Keats are some of the names used to refer to the poet John Keats. The
reason for this are profound and without question. He is and was a great poet and literary influence of
the nineteenth century. I have will be terming him as the greatest poet of all time. However before we
get into the story of John Keats the poet, and literary visionary. I first want to take you back to the
man. His life and his ascension to greatness. John Keats was born to Frances Jennings and Thomas
Keats s on October thirty first seventeen ninety five. His parents had only been married one year when
Keats was born. They had been given a livery stable called Swan and Hoop by John s fraternal
grandparents. Meaning In this time period this was a family of more than adequate means to provide
such a marriage gift. John was followed by three brothers and one sister over the next eight years of
his young life.
His brother George was born February twenty eighth seventeen ninety seven. Then his brother
Thomas was born two years later in November. His last brother Edward was born on April twenty
eighth eighteen hundred and one and died shortly later. His only sister Frances Mary was born on June
third eighteen hundred and three. Out of all the children it was said that John was most like his mother
in physical appearance which is evident in the soft features he was noted in having as a young man.

Fool King Lear
In this world, people have this natural desire to protect the people they love and care for in their lives.
This need can manifest in many ways, at times it comes across as the harsh criticism of a parent and
other times it is the helping hand of a best friend or lover. In Shakespeare s King Lear, the Fool plays
as the protective role toward his master Lear. The Fool uses humour and sarcasm to try and push Lear
to make the smart decision and the Fool acts as his voice of reason, although Lear tends not to fully
comprehend his lessons. Not only does the Fool offer a sense of comic relief for the audience, but his
witty lines have a more protective and caring attitude underlying them. The Western society has an

These fools tended to be quite intelligent and despite their crude humour and sarcastic lines, they
could be very philosophical at times. In King Lear, by Shakespeare, the audience meets the Fool who
plays a wise role toward Lear, even though he was supposed to be the more foolish of the two. In
between his jokes and jabs, the Fool shows how much he cares for Lear and does whatever he can to
try and bring Lear back from insanity. Not only is the Fool in the play for the need of a few witty
lines, but he also proves to be one of the most loyal and protective of Lear s subjects. He does not
have a large amount of lines in the play, and when Cordelia comes back, he disappears completely. It
is a possibility that the Fool represents Lear s rational mind or that Lear creates him out of need for
that mothering, protective figure. His past and future is never touched on, instead he just simply exists
in the play until he is not needed any further. He is fated never to have been or to become anything or
anyone other than what he eternally is. The Fool incarnates the stasis of Being impervious to the flux
of Becoming. (Seiden,

Frankenstein Commentary
In order to make the found poem as close to the original as possible, I intended to add in very few
words that were not in chapter five, the chapter I chose to use as the source for my poem. I also
intended to include Gothic elements which were included in the first few lines when I wrote: It was a
dreary night, Dismal and wet, The rain poured from a black and comfortless sky. I had worked hard. A
dark stormy night is a Gothic element as it exhibits the metonymy of gloom and horror that was
present throughout the chapter. The inclusion of this Gothic element is insightful because it sets the
stage for a dark gloomy event soon to occur. The poem was intended to side with Victor Frankenstein
and paint a scary picture of the monster. While I was compiling the words for the poem from the
chapter, I noticed that Victor Frankenstein used so many words to negatively describe the creature.
The words used to for the monster were perfect so I decided to side against the monster. I had the
preconception that in order to advocate for Victor, I had to use the harshest words to attack the
monster. I wrote It became a thing such as even Dante could not have conceived, the demoniacal
corpse to which I had created. Using harsh words impressed upon the reader a negative view on the
monster. Towards the end of the poem I decided to integrate some drama, suspense, and fear. For
example, I wrote: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

The Financial Crisis Of Greece
Over the 15 years the German has been widely viewed as the economic catalyst and stabilizer for its
fellow European Union states. Even following the Financial Crisis in 2008, the German economy was
able to bounce back quicker than neighboring Eurozone states the source of German success points to
a high export led growth economy with a competitive manufacturing sector, lower unemployment,
balanced budget, and low costs to borrow. With most economic indicators pointing to strong future
growth, it remains to be seen whether a spillover effect occurs to the rest of the EU. Despite a number
of reforms, EU countries continue to suffer due to lack of global competitiveness. In dire straits,
Greece continues to leverage the support of the European Central Bank and Eurozone states to avoid
another financial collapse. In support of Greece, Germany itself lent the country €56 billion, however
Germany has begun to lose patience over Greece s attempts to renegotiate terms of its bailout. As the
German economy has persevered through economic turmoil, while Eurozone has struggled, Germany
continues to be a shining light of prosperity in the European Union.
Profile of German Economy As the largest economy in Europe, Germany has rebounded from the
global crisis unlike any other country. Germany s success stems from a strong export sector, low
unemployment, strong housing and manufacturing sectors and a balanced budget. Prior to the crisis,
Germany implemented a set of structural reforms

  • 2. The American Dream For A Long Time Essay House, a shelter for people, which is one of a basic requirement for human survival in today s world. According to Andriotis (2014) and Shlay (2006), homeownership is regarded as an aspect of the American dream for a long time (p.1) (p.527). The American dream, a pursuit that a large number of US citizens seek, require individuals work hard to achieve it. In other words, owing a property has long been a gateway to the American dream. Individuals have possession of the house if they have enough money to afford the payment on a home and be willing to purchase it. Otherwise, people need to rent a house to guarantee that they have a relatively fixed shelter. However, there are the limited rights for the tenants, and thus they have to depend on the decision of owners, whereas the landlords have the power to make a decision on the property since they have the housing ownership. Hence, whether to buy or rent have become a fundamental problem that plagues the individuals. Elsinga and Hoekstra (2005) point that the homeownership not only in favor of personal, but also benefit the community (p.403). Therefore, buying a house is over than renting since it brings tremendous benefits to individuals. National Flood Insurance Program What is the National Flood Insurance Program and What is it Doing for Me The National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) was create by Congress through the National Flood Insurance Act of 1968, and now resides underneath the cognizance of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). I would analyze, that a majority of the homeowners insurance policies do not cover flood, thus, the need for the NFIP, supplemental insurance. The need of flood insurance, the reasons for having supplemental flood insurance , what the government is doing to protect the citizens against flood and insurance agencies, all the while understanding how to reduce the effects of flood and managing them to reduce rates in your area and even more so, your own premium. ... After re reading my Preferred Risk Policy/Flood Policy Declaration, for my houses in Hawaii and Colorado, they both fell under Flood Risk Zone X, which is classified as a moderate flood hazard area. For example, my home in Colorado, the flood map area is 08041C0575F, and since it is not classified for risk for floods, it was classified as an X. Through the Flood Insurance Rates Map (FIRM), which is the The official map of a community on which FEMA has delineated both the special hazard areas and the risk premium zones applicable to the community. I thought this was an acceptable premium considering the unknown risk, but I should be more cognizant in my community to get an actual assessment, and hopefully get a reduced premium, by providing affordable insurance for property owners and by encouraging communities to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations. (fema.gov) Some of things I think off the top of my head that the communities can do in order for their residents to be eligible are to install proper water run offs in the streets, have some sort of green plan for the area, Furthermore, my Colorado address is shown on the FIRM, and are the areas between the limits of the base flood and the 0.2 percent annual chance (or 500 year) flood (fema.gov) meaning low to moderate level of severe ... • 6. Explain The Two Step Flow Theory The Two Step Flow theory dates back to the 1940s where Paul Lazarsfeld, Bernard Berelson and Hazel Gaudet wrote a book called People s Choice that summarized the analysis of the November 1940 Presidential elections. The research revealed that people are more likely to be influenced by other people rather than the mass media. They called these other people; opinion leaders. (Scannel, 2007). The theory is a key theory in understanding people s decision making processes, in this case being the voting behaviours. The theory suggests that firstly, opinion leaders pay close attention to mass media and then they pass on their interpretation of media messages to the public, influencing their decisions. Unlike the hypodermic needle theory, the two step flow theory acknowledges that audiences are active participants in the communication process and are seen as a part of the society. Having the theory defined, the question that the paper aims to dissects is how relevant is this theory in the world of modern communications today? • 8. Optimism In Romeo And Juliet Being optimistic is being hopeful and having a positive attitude about the future. One can be optimistic in any situations with any emotions, it depends on the view and personality of the person in mind. In William Shakespeare s Romeo and Juliet, two individuals from different worlds find a way to come together even in the face of their families altercations to find true love. The play, Romeo and Juliet, expresses a rather optimistic view of life. In the play, the two lovers try to keep their lives positive despite what is going on in their personal lives. Juliet is in disbelief when she learns that her love Romeo is a montague and she is not allowed with him. While at the feast in the Capulet house, Juliet talks to the nurse after meeting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Nurse acts like a messenger for Juliet and is out of breath from having to walk through Verona. After receiving good news from Romeo the Nurse heads back to the Capulet home and says to Juliet, I am aweary. Give me leave awhile. Fie, how my bones ache! What a jaunt have I! (2.5.25). This represents that the Nurse has become tired and needs to relax after Juliet s requests for her to speak with Romeo. Though the nurse feels weak and needs some time to settle down a bit but instead she explains all of what happened to Juliet. This is an example of staying calm and happy when you are stressed or down. Romeo s new love interest brings a sense of distress to the Friar. As Romeo tells Friar Lawrence he is in love with the forbidden the Friar says, But come, young waverer, come, go with me, In one respect I ll thy assistant be, For this alliance may so happy prove To turn your households rancor to pure love (2.3.85). The Friar is aware of the feud between the families, but instead of becoming worried about this situation the Friar although feeling stressed agrees to marry the two. The Friar has hope that the marriage could reunite the Capulet and Montague. He always keeps his hope throughout the play. The Friar acts as a friend to Juliet when Romeo was exiled. When Friar Lawrence hears the news that Romeo has been exiled he comes up with a plan for Juliet and says, Hold. Get you gone. Be strong and prosperous In this resolve (4.1.126). • 9. Pros And Cons Of Public Transportation I m sure everyone, at least once in their life, has found themselves in a situation, deciding on whether they should drive or opt to take a public transit. Like many other subjects, there has been and most likely always will be long lived debates over which method of transportation is truly the best choice. Naturally, most people are constantly looking for the smartest and cheapest option as well as the most popular option, but that isn t always the easiest decision. Some factors such as cost, convenience, impact on the environment, safety can weigh in on the choice between the driving or public transit. I want to present an argument both for and against each option of transportation for others to take into consideration for their choices. In the factual sense of this debate, the better choice leans more obviously towards the public transit, but for some people, like myself, the vote of driving your own car may present itself as the most popular choice for many of its own reasons. So, this brings me to my simple question: which do you prefer taking the bus or driving yourself? For those of you who choose public transit as their preferred method of transportation, the pros and cons may seem like an endless mountain to sort through. Let s start with the pros. Toner 2 Cost is obviously one of the biggest reasons people take the bus because the expenses that can build up due to insurance, repairs, and other maintenance costs are not the passenger s responsibility. Stress may seem to melt away at the fact that while on a bus you aren t worried about being the one driving through traffic jams, as well as at the fact that you can freely and safely occupy yourself with things such as reading, texting, watching the passing scenery, or even sleeping until you reach your destination. Another pro could be that, assuming you re not socially awkward, you would most definitely meet some interesting characters riding along with you and may even be invited into some fun conversations. On the other hand, you may very well be that socially awkward person who is uncomfortable when people invade your personal bubble uninvited. Therefore, interaction with other human beings in such a confined space could also be deemed a con ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. The Fountainhead and Dead Poets Society Qualifications of a Proud Man Pride, then, seems to be a sort of crown of the virtues; for it makes them greater, and it is not found without them. Therefore it is hard to be truly proud; for it is impossible without nobility and goodness of character (ARISTOTLE) writes Aristotle in chapter 3 of his Nichomachean Ethics. In this excerpt, Aristotle describes the pride and characteristics of a proud man or great souled man. Considering the characters of Howard Roark and John Keating, the two seem to be exemplary examples of Aristotle s proud man. Although different in many ways, these two men qualify greatly for the role of a proud man because of their similar basic beliefs of not aiming at things commonly held in honour, to ask for ... The excerpt read, To put to route all that was not life; and not, when I had come to die, discover I had not lived. Keating stressed to his students the importance of living your life to the fullest. He taught them that if they aren t doing what they love to do then life wasn t worth living. Neil Perry, a student of Mr. Keating, took this lesson to heart and took his own life when his father forbid him from doing what he loved. He felt that his life should not be lived if he could not pursue his love for acting. Concluding, by doing what he loved, Mr. Keating taught the boys to do what they love in their life and to seize the day. Howard Roark risked his own life because he couldn t live if his principles were going to be compromised. Overall, Roark and Keating are extraordinary characters of a proud man in the way that they live their life to the fullest potential. To conclude, pride is concerned with honour on the grand scale, as has been said by Aristotle. Howard Roark and John Keating qualify as examples to be Aristotle s proud man or great souled man because of their undeniably similar characteristics. A big advantage for the relationship marketing approach is that it lowers the operating costs. The Negative Impacts Of Integrity In Society Brené Brown once said, Integrity is choosing courage over comfort; choosing what is right over what is fun, fast, or easy; and choosing to practice our values rather than simply professing them. Integrity is threatened everyday by three major combatants: cheating, lying, and plagiarizing. Many do not realize the extent of their actions. Life is like the domino effect: an action always affects someone else. When a person lacking integrity makes a decision, the people affected are often wounded in the process. A lack of integrity leads to a life of negative impacts with the three main threats to integrity being cheating, lying, and plagiarizing. Cheating is universal, and it is very similar worldwide. According to the LA Times, Teachers say that hiding cheat sheets in socks, copying neighbors answers and scribbling notes on walls are the most common tactics. Test papers routinely are leaked as well, often by low level school employees who sell them for the equivalent of a few dollars, and sometimes by teachers or administrators whose professional standing rises if students perform well (Shashank Bengali 3). Another example is, Maya s (U212 Video 1, band 1) experiences of childhood in the poor area Chittagong being different to the twins Yasir and Yamin s experiences in middle class Chittagong. Each have different expectations of their roles within society according to their social boundaries, gender, family and beliefs. Central to the social constructionist approach is the concept of competing discourses of childhood. A discourse is a particular way of thinking or a particular view point that is influenced by our gender, language, history, beliefs, experiences and social boundaries. There are numerous discourses but a romantic discourse sees children as inherently good; a child would only do terrible things if damaged in some way. Contrary to this is the puritanical discourse which sees the child as inherently evil, doing evil things because they are wicked and need punishing. Using the social constructionist view allows us to recognise that a child who is a killer can be seen through these two very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Individuality versus sociality in learning capabilities... Over the centuries, wild animals have always fascinated humans. As a result, wild animals have been put on display, but the logistics of these displays have changed throughout the years to resemble zoos humans now visit (Rutledge et al, 2014). Enclosures were once very small and did not provide the opportunity for stimulation that the animals need. There has been a shift from small, sterile enclosures to larger, more natural enclosures (Shepherdson, 1998). This change in the care of captive animals was caused by an interest in studying the animals (Shepherdson, 1998). Studies have revealed the importance of providing captive animals with an environment in which behaviors typical of the captive species, when in the wild, can be exercised in the enclosures in which they are housed (Shepherdson, 1998). By mimicking a natural habitat, scientists are able to observe more natural behavior. If enrichment is not provided, stereotypic behavior such as pacing, aggression, and abnormal behavior, may occur. In order to discourage these stereotypic behaviors, zoologists have begun implementing enrichment programs to stimulate the captive animals to exhibit more natural behaviors (Swaisgood and Shepherdson, 2005). Enrichment works to diminish stereotypic behavior and increase the natural behavior of animals by sculpting the environment of captive animals to provide them with an environment more similar to that of their wild habitat. Additionally, it provides different ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hershey Food Corporation HERSHEY FOODS CORPORATION: BITTER TIMES IN A SWEET PLACE Teaching Note Synopsis and Objectives The proposed sale of Hershey Foods Corporation (HFC) during the summer of 2002 captured headlines and imaginations. After all, Hershey was an American icon, and when the company s largest shareholder, the Hershey Trust Company (HSY), asked HFC management to explore a sale, the story drew national and international attention. To facilitate the valuation aspect of the analysis, free cash flow forecasts are provided in case Exhibit 10 for Hershey as a stand alone entity. Most students should find it easy to calculate a value for Hershey using the discounted cash flow (DCF) method and industry comparable multiples, which also are provided. As with any valuation case, students must make judgments about the appropriate capital structure, the weighted average cost of capital (WACC), sales growth, and the terminal growth rate. Once students have explored the value drivers for Hershey though sensitivity analysis, they may then evaluate the bids from both Nestlé S.A. Cadbury Schweppes PLC (NCS) and the Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company. They will want to examine whether the bids are fair from the perspective of HFC shareholders and whether the synergies assumed by the bidders in their offer prices are reasonable. The instructor may vary the emphasis on different issues by altering the study questions and by the choice of video clips. The case is well suited for courses and classes concerning corporate governance, valuation, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate social responsibility. • 32. French Revolution Turning Point Essay This was a turning point in the revolution, when the government lost most of its control over the population. Rights of Man and Citizen was also adopted to forestall the violence, as work on a Constitution slowly began. August 27, 1789, the Declaration of the Rights of Man and Citizen was adopted by the National Constituent Assembly (History.com). These Enlightenment ideas such as freedom of speech were radical at that time. The declaration professed its commitment to discard the archaic ancien regime with a new order. They believed that French emigres were arranging regressive counter revolutionary alliances. By declaring war they also hoped to spread their ideals across Europe, forcibly (History.com). This was a glimpse of the insanity that the new government was going to bring to France. In the heart of France the revolt had gripped the nation, as the political disaster took an extreme turn. This occurred when a rising group of insurgents, led by a radical group called the Jacobins, attacked the royal residence at the Tuileries Palace (History.com). They seized the king and his family on August 10,1792 during this raid. During the following month, Parisians revolutionaries murdered hundreds of accused counter revolutionaries, during a surge of violence. At this stage the old government had lost all power of command and they were simply trying to save themselves from the mess they had made. • 34. Fool King Lear In this world, people have this natural desire to protect the people they love and care for in their lives. This need can manifest in many ways, at times it comes across as the harsh criticism of a parent and other times it is the helping hand of a best friend or lover. In Shakespeare s King Lear, the Fool plays as the protective role toward his master Lear. The Fool uses humour and sarcasm to try and push Lear to make the smart decision and the Fool acts as his voice of reason, although Lear tends not to fully comprehend his lessons. Not only does the Fool offer a sense of comic relief for the audience, but his witty lines have a more protective and caring attitude underlying them. The Western society has an innate tendency to let their ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... These fools tended to be quite intelligent and despite their crude humour and sarcastic lines, they could be very philosophical at times. In King Lear, by Shakespeare, the audience meets the Fool who plays a wise role toward Lear, even though he was supposed to be the more foolish of the two. In between his jokes and jabs, the Fool shows how much he cares for Lear and does whatever he can to try and bring Lear back from insanity. Not only is the Fool in the play for the need of a few witty lines, but he also proves to be one of the most loyal and protective of Lear s subjects. He does not have a large amount of lines in the play, and when Cordelia comes back, he disappears completely. It is a possibility that the Fool represents Lear s rational mind or that Lear creates him out of need for that mothering, protective figure. His past and future is never touched on, instead he just simply exists in the play until he is not needed any further. He is fated never to have been or to become anything or anyone other than what he eternally is. The Fool incarnates the stasis of Being impervious to the flux of Becoming. (Seiden, ... • 35. Frankenstein Commentary In order to make the found poem as close to the original as possible, I intended to add in very few words that were not in chapter five, the chapter I chose to use as the source for my poem. I also intended to include Gothic elements which were included in the first few lines when I wrote: It was a dreary night, Dismal and wet, The rain poured from a black and comfortless sky. I had worked hard. A dark stormy night is a Gothic element as it exhibits the metonymy of gloom and horror that was present throughout the chapter. The inclusion of this Gothic element is insightful because it sets the stage for a dark gloomy event soon to occur. The poem was intended to side with Victor Frankenstein and paint a scary picture of the monster. While I was compiling the words for the poem from the chapter, I noticed that Victor Frankenstein used so many words to negatively describe the creature. The words used to for the monster were perfect so I decided to side against the monster. I had the preconception that in order to advocate for Victor, I had to use the harshest words to attack the monster. I wrote It became a thing such as even Dante could not have conceived, the demoniacal corpse to which I had created. Using harsh words impressed upon the reader a negative view on the monster. Towards the end of the poem I decided to integrate some drama, suspense, and fear. For example, I wrote: ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... With most economic indicators pointing to strong future growth, it remains to be seen whether a spillover effect occurs to the rest of the EU. Despite a number of reforms, EU countries continue to suffer due to lack of global competitiveness. In dire straits, Greece continues to leverage the support of the European Central Bank and Eurozone states to avoid another financial collapse. In support of Greece, Germany itself lent the country €56 billion, however Germany has begun to lose patience over Greece s attempts to renegotiate terms of its bailout.
