Acute Treatment Of Acute Kidney Injury
Acute kidney injury (AKI, previously referred to as acute renal failure) is a common and serious
condition particularly among hospitalized patients with acute illness and those undergoing major
surgery. It can be life threatening but it can also be reversible. Clinically AKI is characterized by abrupt
loss of kidney function resulting in a rapid decline in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR),water and
electrolytes imbalance, and accumulation of nitrogenous wastes such as blood urea nitrogen and
creatinine.
Epidemiology of AKI
The mortality rate of AKI is very high (up to 80% mortality in critically ill children and adults). The
incidence rate of AKI has increased in hospitalized patients gradually from 4.9% in 1983 [1] to 20% in
2012 [2].There are more than 35 definitions of AKI [3] which makes the incidence rate varies greatly
due to the lack of a standard and Definition. The Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative (ADQI) published
(RIFLE) criteria (Risk, Injury, Failure, Loss, End Stag) in 2004 (table1).
Pathophysiology:
In order to study a biomarker of AKI, It is very important to understand the early response mechanism
of the kidney to acute injury. AKI results from multiple causative factors which are classified as pre
renal (ischemia, hypovalemia), renal(toxins, drugs, infection and inflammation of the kidney e.g
glomerulonephritis and acute tubular necrosis) and post renal (obstruction e.g Acute obstructive
uropathy, benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stone). This

What Is Humanitarian Work Psychology
At the moment, there are different trends that psychology is at and will progress to regarding
demographics, technology, and innovation of ideas. An article by the Monitor of Psychology
demonstrates through a survey of health providers the reality of the demographic they are reaching out
to. It also addresses the different ways that practitioners are treating clients. According to the study,
thirty nine percent of respondents shared electronic medical records with other professionals. And
while only 19 percent saw patients alongside other professionals, 36 percent participated in
multidisciplinary team meetings and 33 percent reported integrated treatment plans (Clay 2016). This
is showing an integration and community within the circle of therapists. ... Show more content on

Being bilingual, Hispanic, Christian, and my general passion for psychology will propel me in my
ambitions. I have much to offer but also have a lot to do before I can work in the field. Namely, I must
assess my own opinions and challenge them as they will be challenged in the future by future
colleagues, church members, and by the community I am around. This is necessary because of my
own biases, dogmatism in certain areas, and because of the progress of man. The views of my faith,
the people I am influenced by, and the reason I care must all be challenged. They may be warped and
feeding something inside of me or they be good to some extent; at the moment, I am not currently
aware of that. The progress of psychology is exciting nonetheless and will continue to be an area in
which I will be developed by and

Blink-182 Character Traits
Some good character traits are being smart and talented. The reason for this is you have to be smart
with the music and words you use in the music. Also you have to have talent to be able to perform. I
believe Blink 182 has these character traits. Have the talents and the smarts. They have written the
most amazing music and have changed music history. They have put real problems into song. They
put the problems in a teen life in music. This band started with three guys who went through a lot.
Mark Hoppus was the bassist and vocalist. His parents got a divorce when he was in 3rd grade. In 5th

Essay On Ellen Degeneres
It was around the same time she was honored with the best female comedian award that she began
starring in television series and appearing in a few sitcoms. In 1994, after the second season of These
Friends of Mine, starring DeGeneres as a bookstore employee, a few moderations were made to the
show; one being the change of title to Ellen. As the reviews and ratings of the show started to improve,
so did the connection between a mast number of viewers and DeGeneres eccentric, witty persona. This
eventually led to consistent nominations for Emmy awards and winning the prestigious Peabody
Award in 1997 for all her diligent work. Becoming the first person to have their character come out as

To me those are traditional values. Ellen DeGeneres. Although DeGeneres felt she was shoved back an
endless number of miles, she continued to be herself and persevere. Not only did she struggle
professionally, but personally as well. DeGeneres once told People magazine, I went through a phase,
whether it was true or not, where my perception was, Everyone hates me now, and it felt horrible.
With hopeful emotions, she continued to appear in many films. However, none of these led to her
being a successful film actress. Amongst the dismay, a significant positive note struck her professional
life, giving her career a second act, as some described. Shortly after the terroristic attack of 9/11, the
entertainment industry was clueless as how to give laughter to its audiences. An offering to host the
prime time Emmy awards, that was set aside twice due to the tragedy, was being reoffered to her.
According to Entertainment Weekly, DeGeneres impressed her fellow actors and millions of viewers
with what Fonesca described as a witty, respectful, and wise performance. DeGeneres has found her

Speech On Physical Fitness
Physical fitness plays an important role in one s life, with the growing needs of people, tension,
anxiety and stress have become one of the most common problems in modern life. Many people suffer
from potentially debilitating symptoms of stress and stress related health issues at some point in their
lives and surprisingly people are often unaware that they are suffering from stress related health
issues. Studies have shown that people who are stressed are more likely to eat unhealthy food and
hence land in complications such as diabetes, obesity and other joint related problems such as arthritis.
High levels of stress in pregnant women may also trigger dangerous changes in their children, which
include behavioral and developmental issues. Effectively coping with stress, managing it and finding
ways to reduce unnecessary, unhealthy levels of stress are important skills of life. When you look at a

There are different venues and strategies you can use to make walking an enjoyable and social part of
your lifestyle. Introduce your body to fitness walking that is gradual in nature. How much walking
you need to do depends on your age and fitness level, if you ve been inactive for a while, have an
existing medical condition or are pregnant, then talk to your doctor or Physical therapist before
beginning any walking or exercise program.
To begin walking, Start with slow 10 minute walks on a plane surface with proper shoes on, then
gradually increase the distance of your walks. Professionals suggest increasing the length of your walk
by 10 to 20% every few weeks and working up to a goal of 20 to 40 minute walks per day shows
improvement in your fitness levels. Once you re comfortable with the length of your walk, then you
can try increasing your speed and resistance by walking

The Brain Drain and Revolution in the Late 19th and Early...
Introduction
By the end of the 19th century, Chinese officials were beginning to realize that their country s
educational infrastructure was becoming increasingly anachronistic. Traditional education largely
ignored technology considered it low class, even and students instead focused on cultivating a sense of
moral righteousness. Yet, the Confucian centered examination system was beginning to prove
ineffective in a world where modern militaries predominated in international relations. China learned
this painful lesson during a succession of lost wars, eventually entering a long period of introspection,
quite notably, by first looking outward. Foreign education systems were of particular interest to this
nation in transition. Foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In fact, the late Qing Empire s encounter with Western civilization was necessarily heralded by guns,
warships, and other new instruments of Western military might. The narrative of China s dynastic
glory was replaced with a newer, less flattering image of China as the sick man of Asia (Holcombe
193). Fears of the encroaching imperial powers were only heightened after China lost in the 1865 60
Opium War, as were fears of increasing internal disorder, as evinced by the 1851 64 Taiping Rebellion
(Bary 661; Rhoads 1 2). China would later suffer yet another humiliating defeat in the Sino Japanese
War of 1894 5, but they first instituted a series of reforms in an attempt to curtail foreign dominance,
particularly in the military sphere. China thus entered a period of so called self strengthening, a
government led restoration that spanned the years between 1961 and 1895. This movement was
largely a response to these early military defeats and the nation s perceived sense of inferiority
(Rhoads 1 2; Holcombe 201). In a phrase, the goal of self strengthening projects and the larger
Tongzhi Restoration (1862 74) was to emulate the Western countries and master their technical skills
(Holcombe 201; Rhoads 9). In order to do this, China first had to open its borders to Western
influence; the late Qing first allowed

Prince William Forest Park has flourished to what it is today but it carries historical events that not
only made a serious impact on history today but also on the national park. As one of their historical
events such as the Civil War, it established a huge impact on the park today and has continued to be a
part of the parks history. It all revolved around the Civil War dating back to 1861 1865 where Prince
William Forest Park was the town of Dumfries. The American Civil War had such a huge impact on
Prince William Forest Park due to the events of the Confederate Blockade and the Dumfries Raid with

The discovery of Fools Gold is what led to the enriched and powerful development of the mining
company. A Baltimore native John Detrick managed to hike along the Quantico Creek and discovered
something shiny in the water which just so happened to be pyrite, also known as Iron Sulfide. With
this discovery there came three shafts that lived pyrite. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine was the only
pyrite mine in the area and really helped out the locals by boosting the economy and providing jobs
for farmers who worked as laborers for the mine and then went home to tend to their farm after
working. The company was such a big success that by 1917, Virginia produced more pyrite than any
other state and continued to provide profitable income to families and businesses located in the area.
This would be Batestown and Hickory Ridge at the time in history. With a booming economy, the
mining company was able to rake in even more of a profit when World War I struck due to the fact
that it was able to produce gunpowder during the mid nineteenth century. The Cabin Branch Mining
Company not only produced an income for the locals by pyrite carrying the main ingredient sulfur that
was necessary to produce products like gunpowder, bleach, textiles, soap, medicine, etc. but it also
contributed to the remarkable advantages the park would make with its preservation of the mine

The Dutch Republic Downfall Essay
Within 1650 to 1713 the Dutch Republic underwent a formidable transformation, which changed its
status as a major influence in Europe. The Dutch Republic was a political union of seven provinces
that was not only an impressive banking and commercial capital, but the Dutch also had a great navy
as well. Additionally, the center of flourishment in the Dutch Republic was Amsterdam, which was the
foremost trading and banking center in all of Europe. The changing environment of the late
seventeenth and early eighteenth centuries forced the Dutch Republic into a position of conflict and
unbalance, which proved detrimental to their country as a whole. One of the first challenges to the
Dutch Republic dealt with military and how countries, such as ... Show more content on

Additionally, another major conflict of militaristic means was against the English, in which
approximately 2,000 to 2,700 Dutch ships were seized by the English in the three Anglo Dutch Wars,
(Doc. 3). This document primarily showed that Dutch had major troubles with their security to other
foreign nations. England was the main competitors of the Dutch for trade during this time period, and
these seizing of ships made perfect sense if the English wanted to come out on top. For example, these
conflicts are shown on a map of the naval battles between the English and Dutch, during the years
1652 1674, (Doc. 1). On the map the most battles occurred between the Dutch trade route that went
through waters close to England, which ended up being one of the biggest challenges to the Dutch
republic militarily. Marquis de Pamponne, French ambassador to the Dutch Republic, reported to the
French government that the wars between the English and Dutch were primarily over trade and
obtaining trade routes, (Doc. 11). This document was written by a foreign opinion to the French
government because the French were obviously curious about these conflicts that were occurring.
More importantly, this document showed trade routes were a major cause of challenges on the military
on the Dutch, which caused an increase

Marketing Strategy Of The Tti Generic Business Strategy...
When looking at the TTI generic business strategy for their tax preparation business, the firm
originally operated and competed as a cost leader that also had a first mover advantage. When it first
opened, the company saw the advantage of offering cheaper tax services than the CPAs. To achieve
the cheaper price, the company made the conscious decision of hiring inexperienced employees, who
they could then train, instead of CPAs. This ensured that their costs would be much lower than the
average CPA firm, since CPAs are likely paid more. When it was just them in the market, they were
the only players in tax preparation that was offering a cheaper service and TTI was able to pass that
cost savings off to their customers. The company chose to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

for this firm is their ability to reduce the amount of time people are waiting in line at their offices. In
general, this is because of the technology that the company has invested in such as the integration of
their software with the government s servers. Marketing and Sales is the next primary activity, which
for TTI is their action in building out their brand and national marketing campaigns. The company

Diatomite
DIATOMITE
Diatomite is a sedimentary rock, that is white and yellowish in color. It is composed of fossilized
skeletons of one celled algae like plants called diatoms. It is accumulated in marine areas. The
Honeycomb sillia structure is useful because of its high absorptive capacity and surface area. It is also
very chemically stable. Its principal use is filtration.
This substance of diatomite is extracted from many countries around the world. Out of 30 world
countries the largest suppliers are the United States, China, Denmark, and Japan. China supplies about
350 thousand metric tons, Denmark extracts 375 thousand metric tons, and Japan, 190 thousand metric
tons. About 725 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One environmental specification of color is put on diatomite, because it is a calcine product. It has to
be of a light whitish color or it is not available to be mined. This helps environmentally because the
color determines a standard for what companies can and cannot mine.
I think one way for lessening the impact on the environment, would be to work harder at developing
recycling methods for diatomite cake. If recycling could be put into use not as much diatomite would
need to be mined. To excavate diatomite, different combinations of rippers, dozers, scrapers, front end
loaders, power shovels, and dump trucks are used. Underground mining is not too uncommon outside
the United States. Usually, room and pillar methods are used, often with equipment similar to that
used in open pits; in the smallest mines, hand tools are used. Dredging is used to recover
diatomaceous mud from the bottom of lakes. Since all these methods are used in excavation, I think
the best idea would be to choose the method with the least impact environmentally.
Sixty four percent of the diatomite mined is used in filtration.
Fourteen percent is used for absorbents, and twelve percent used in fillers. While two percent used for
insulation, and

Perception Of Authority

Perception of Authority
An instance of travel on the most elementary level is a journey to another location. In Home and
Harem, Inderpal Grewal identifies travel as an institution of England. The voyage to new territories
had sparked a new era filled with new opportunities and ideals in the European continent. Most
importantly travel became an agent of English nationalism and was a key aspect in rise of imperialism.
To expand England s domain of influence became a collective journey and eventually being a subject
of England was equivalent to being imperialist. For people that could not travel, the guidebook acted
as the object of mediation between authority and those it was imposed on (105). At the Metropolitan
Museum, the Egyptian exhibit is also represented under a certain niche monitored by authority. The
spectator culture may vary based on prior knowledge, but the carefully fabricated environment
showcases how the controller authorizes representation within their domains.
There is an unsettled discussion on the pertinence of imperialism to all classes in England. While
some consider it just a concern of the nobility others link it to the manifestation of newborn
nationalism and patriotism in all classes beginning from the mid 19th century. John Mackenzie in
Propaganda and Empire and Imperialism and Pop Culture introduces the concept of generalized
imperial vision as a counterview to the discussion. He sees classes as formations that are
predetermined.

School Counselors
I believe the next important ingredient for multicultural competence is cultural skills. A skilled
counselor utilizes the interventions that are client based and which serve clients needs. A positive
reaction would be to be connected to those different cultures communication is the key. In
multicultural counseling the counselor needs to be more aware his or her limitations in counseling
skills. I feel it s vital to have cultural skills in order to serve multicultural populations in the most
productive way to facilitate. By being culturally aware and recognizing how culture will affect the
counseling process, this cultural awareness will support the counselor in developing an empathic

School Counselors job isn t to teach students moral rules and values or to prevent students from
making their own choices based on their values. Admittedly, it can be a fine line to walk between not
imposing our values yet helping students develop social skills and self understanding that will enhance
their efforts to become successful adults. In the leadership role it s not up to the counselor to fix all
problems. All through the years the role the school counselors play in using information uniquely
available to them to examine and change current policy and practice. Whether it be course taking
patterns, student placements, or student success and failure rates, school counselors are poised to be
key change agents within the school. That is a big job that I feel school counselors don t get credit for
enough. Many times, school counselors are told what to do by administrators who fail to understand
the contribution the school counselor can make to the school. If anything that I feel I disagree is that
credit that the counselors don t get. Some of the duties that have historically been assigned to the

Analysis Of The Book Coretta The Story Of Coretta...
Summary of the Text: The biography of Coretta: The Story of Coretta Scott King, was the first
biography made depicting Coretta s life, goals, and success. The book was written by a close friend of
hers whose name is Octavia Vivian. The story tells how Coretta, as a young woman, had grown up in
Alabama. She later went to Antioch College, and later found out that she, as a colored young woman,
would not be allowed to teach, mix, or mingle with the whites in the state of Ohio. She later explored
a musical career in Boston where she was to meet her future husband Martin Luther King, Jr (Vivian).
Coretta was born to her parents, whose names were Bernice McMurry and Obadiah Scott, and grew
up and was raised on her parent s farm located in Heiberger, Alabama. Since she grew up during the
time and era of segregation, she, as a child, attended a one room school house and later graduated
from Lincoln Normal School from a town close by called Marion, Alabama. Vivian also mentions that
Coretta s mother was a school bus driver for all the colored children to be able to attend that particular
school (Vivian). Later in the 1940s, Coretta attended Antioch College, located in Yellow Springs,
Ohio. She studied music education and sang in the school choirs and the local churches. In her senior
year she went through the issue of not being able to teach since Yellow Springs would not allow her to
interact and mix, as a colored woman and teacher, with the whites at their schools. Higher

Student Loan Debt And High Cost Of Education
AMERICAN INNOVATION, TOO EXPENSIVE TO EARN Although millions of college students
graduate each year, many of them are not successful after their education. Many jump in without
knowing what they want to do and at the end once they have their degree they realize that it wasn t
what they wanted. Now they have thousands of dollars in debt and a degree they dislike or a degree so
common it earns them but a dollar or two more than a high school diploma would. Some can t even
find job, yet they have the burden to pay back student loans, but what if we as students did not have
the burden of debt? Would that make a difference? Could pursing a second degree be more feasible
without the burden of expanding your debt? Student loan debt and high cost of education has become
a huge issue in this country, they are deterring individuals from pursuing a degree, at times prolongs
their education time frame and more often than not we are left with a huge debt to pay. I believe this
deterrent is gradually affecting the number of innovators in our country. How can we fix this?
With interest rates as high as 9.37% through SallieMae one of the leaders in financing education,
student loan debt has become a big business at the expense of the American people that want to better
themselves. The national student loan debt surpassed 1 trillion dollars with the average individual debt
being thirty thousand dollars. It is obvious why giving an education is more a business than a service.

Symbolism In The Story Of An Hour By Kate Chopin
The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin is an immaculate illustration of how a short story can have the
ability to make a considerable impact on an entire nation. Chopin manipulates her writing effectively
with her outstanding applications of certain literary techniques. Moreover, these techniques such as
pathos, irony and symbolism, amplify the intensity and overall impact women oppression had on
Chopin and many other women during the late nineteenth century. In addition, the story overshadows
the protagonist, Mrs. Mallard, and her persevering fight to overcome the mournful news regarding the
death of her husband. She was informed about her husband s death by her sister Josephine, who told
her in a rather gentle fashion which ultimately caused Mrs. Mallard to go to the hospital with an
unfortunate affliction of heart trouble. Initially, Mrs. Mallard rhapsodically struggled in trying to cope
with this news as it left her in a paralyzed state of sorrow but she then realized that she gained a great
deal of freedom due to to her husband s death. Furthermore, Chopin leaves out many details within her
text, which obligates the reader to fill in the gaps within Chopin s iceberg imagery like writing and
gain a perception of women s mistreatment during the mid 1800 s. Kate Chopin inserts many
applications of pathos within her writing.
There stood, facing the open window, a comfortable, roomy armchair. Into this she sank, pressed

When investing in a term deposit, the individual must invest a minimum of $5000. This sum of money
can be kept in a term deposit for as little as 1 month or as long as 5 years. A term deposit has a low
rate of risk, so the invested money is guaranteed to earn interest over a period of time. However, since
it is a fixed rate, investment returns are likely to be minimal. This negative is counterbalanced by the
absolute security of this investment contract. Returns will be comparable to those from non fixed rates
depending on the economic environment. Additionally, this investment is a suitable option for young
people as it allows them to redraw the money after the maturity date. With the expenses that typically
arise when starting a home or family, it is likely that the ability to access this fund after the investment
has ceased would provide a major financial benefit. This money cannot be accessed throughout the
investment period, ensuring that the sum cannot be spent. Interest on a term deposit is compounded
every 4 weeks, 6 months or yearly, depending on the preference of the individual. The individual must
also decide on a plan for interest returns, which can either be deposited into a personal bank account
or added to the rem deposit sum. This latter option is financially preferable, as the larger the funds in
the deposit, the greater the interest returns. 2.3 Aggressive Option Shares

The Coffee Crisis
| |
2/5/2012
2/5/2012
Tamara Young
To begin, The Coffee Crisis is about an acute coffee crisis and how it threatens millions of small
coffee farmers around the world and is putting economic growth, as well as social and political
stability, at risk in scores of coffee producing countries in Central and South America, Africa and Asia.
In 2004, the governments of coffee producing countries were considering how to respond to the
dramatic decline in coffee prices caused in part by a large increase in coffee production in Brazil and
Vietnam. Coffee was the main source of income for roughly 25 million farmers, mostly small land
holders, in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Coffee prices had hit 40 year lows in 2001 and had

The crisis in the coffee sector continues. Its impact cannot be understated, since coffee constitutes the
livelihood of an estimated 25 million families around the world. In world trade, coffee is the second
leading commodity, after petroleum. The worldwide coffee market spans some 71 countries, of which
51 are significant producers and 20 are key consumers. Prices have not kept up with production costs
to the extent needed to make participation in the coffee business profitable for most producers, even
though the crop year 2003 2004 witnessed a worldwide decrease in production. (Central America The
Coffee Crisis: Effects and Strategies for Moving Forward, 1992) In coffee producing countries, which
account for over 26% of world consumption, the situation is more diverse. In some countries, prices of
coffee have fallen in local currency and consumption may therefore be stimulated. In Brazil, the
largest coffee market among producing countries, the devaluation of the real has maintained prices of
green coffee at pre crisis levels. As a whole, consumption in these markets is not expected to suffer
any major negative impact. The root cause of the coffee crisis can be linked to three factors: over
production; under consumption; and market oligopoly. In short, these are all problems associated with
the economics of coffee farming. Without resolution, they will lead to both social and environmental
breakdowns. (Central America The

As being a proud representative of the AAA Safety Patrol program I was taught the value of patience.
For instance, when someone needed help I would listen and provide my insight. In few instances when
a school bus would arrive after the students were let out of school I would patiently wait with the
students in order to ensure their safety and assist the younger students who were unaware of where
their bus was and direct them where to go. I apply the value of patience in my everyday life because I
often volunteer in first grade or kindergarten classrooms and in order to assist the students requires an
immense amount of patience. The program has also taught me the value of commitment because every
day I would ensure safety before and after school and as a group the safety patrollers would frequently
meet at least once a month to check up with our advisor. I have applied the value of commitment to
my life because I am in many clubs, sports, and organizations that require commitment in order to
participate, including Student Council, Drug Free Trader Card Seniors, National Honor Society, and
etc. Finally, I emphasized the making the right choices in the classroom and while I was patrolling
because I was not only representing myself but the AAA School Safety Patrol program. As being a

Are We Witnessing the Demise of the Westminster Model in...
One of the most celebrated forms of democracy, the Westminster model has been a defining feature of
the British political system for the past century. Coined after the location where the Houses of
Parliament stand, the system is also sometimes referred to as the majoritarian model, in that majority
rule is a central attribute of the model. The characterising factors of the model have been present
throughout modern British political history, but more apparent in some years than others. The years
1945 1970 symbolise a strong alignment with the main features of the model, in which bare majority
cabinets and the concentration of executive power in one party delineated the British political system.
The 1970s on the other hand saw a deviation ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An important factor in the decline for Labour support was the Iraq war of 2003, and yet the only one
of the three main parties to have been totally opposed to the war, the Liberal Democrats, still could not
get enough seats to become the official opposition. Despite earning 22.1% of the national vote, the
Liberal Democrats won only 62 seats. All the elections since 1979, and particularly the 2005 election,
all re enforce the argument that the UK is still very much a majoritarian model construct – large
parliamentary majorities are achieved with under half the popular vote. Despite pledges by New
Labour in the run up to the 1997 elections to seriously think about reforming the electoral system,
which would have been a significant step away from the Westminster model, this has failed to
materialise, and in practice is very unlikely to. The party in power often owe the plurality method in
some part for granting them more power than their share of votes would have constituted under a PR
system, and so, with their majority in parliament, a change to the constitution in the form of electoral
system change is unthinkable. As Graham Wilson rightly states: they (party in power) back away from
changes such as electoral reform which would work to their disadvantage . The highly disproportional
results during UK general elections are proof that as long as the UK continues to use

Human Consumption Of Silkworm Pupae
4. Safety/ Regulations
4.1. Safety Evaluation with Respect to Formulations, Functionality, and Processing.
Human consumption of silkworm pupae is prevalent in many countries such as China, Japan, and
Thailand. It can be traced back to a thousand years ago in many African and Asian cultures 24. The
utilization of silkworm pupae in food is still a traditional practice25. Research shows that there are no
toxic effects, mutagenicity and abnormal effects related to silkworm pupae and they are safe for
human consumption26. Foodborne pathogens are one of the major public health concerns in
developing countries. In our target region, foodborne illnesses are common due to poor general
hygiene, lack of professional equipment and inadequate food handling at home27. In Ethiopia, the
average annual incidence level of foodborne illnesses is 5.8% and average death associated with
diarrhea, the major symptoms caused by food related diseases, is 45%28. Common pathogens related
with animal origin food products are Salmonella spp. and Escherichia coli O157:H727.
4.2. Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) and Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs)
In order to assure food safety, Nu Stew would be produced in standardized GMP facilities. The

Case Analysis of ZARA: Fast Fashion
Challenges
a. Limitations of Vertical Integration
Vertical integration, a distinctive feature of Zara s business model, has allowed the company to
successfully develop a strong merchandising strategy. This strategy has led Zara to create a climate of
scarcity and opportunity as well as a fast fashion system. However, Zara s strategy creates some
weaknesses. Their vertical integration has more advantages than drawbacks but it is important to
recognize its limitations. Vertical integration often leads to the inability to acquire economies of scale,
which means Zara cannot gain the advantages of producing large quantities of goods for a discounted
rate. Higher costs are then incurred for the Inditex ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The close proximity of the distribution center to the American market will allow Zara to effectively
interpret the particular American fashion.
The increased cost of product variety will increase cost due to possible changeover of production
techniques to create different apparel lines but this cost is warranted since the monetary gain is much
greater than the cost. Central distribution centers, however, will help cut some the cost of quick, high
fashion since it can help streamline some of the processes and techniques used to create different
apparel as they vary from country to country.
Implementations
To expand globally, Zara should focus on one country at a time. Our team concludes that United States
should be Zara s current focus on international expansion. United States is an open trade market with
well formed trade regulations. This provides a safer business environment as compared to Asia
countries. During the globalization process, Zara should maintain short lead time, quick inventory
turnover, leading fashion brand and low advertising cost as its competitive advantage. Regional
distribution center, vertical integration, outsourcing, eye catching window displays are the key
elements for Zara to continue to re invent and innovate themselves to stay fresh in the apparel
industry. Below you may find the implementation details for United States region:

Slavery And The American Dream
Slaves they are products of a lost mind and irresponsible love. Now when I say a slave I am not
talking about someone who is the property of someone else that must obey his or her every command.
I am talking about the slavery of the mind that has run like wild fire among the black community.
However sad it may be, our own kind are making their children into slaves. There are few things that
have had such an impact on making slaves as the topics that I am about to mention. Which all will
take place within a child s first five years of life So when the new media talks about all the mystics
about how blacks are thug and criminals what else do they aspect. You have taught a person to hate
every aspect of them and to shun other with like features and to strive for the American dream, by the
way the American dream is white. So there is no place for a black colored skin person too belong in
the American dream. Not allowing someone to have any place in this world forces them to come
crashing into life.
Because at the end of the day it is up to you and you only to make sure you don t die and survive. So
now that theory are not only slave black people in this world there are also educated blacks that are
compared to these and are given no hope by society, because of a person of the same skin type has all
ready ruined the image of their face to be positive. So when you ask a black person where his place is

Why Cats Are Better Than Dogs
Have you ever been bitten by a dog or scratched by a cat? I have before and I would take a scratch
before another dog bite any day. And thats why I m telling you these reason why cats are better pets
than dogs. Many families become interested in a family pet. For a new family with kids an animal that
takes up a lot of time wouldn t be ideal. Dogs are that kind of pet, they take up a lot of time and need a
lot of care. Cats on the other hand are very independent and can do most things on there own. Cats can
be left alone for long periods of time. So for example say you were on vacation and you can t bring
any animals. A cat would be an easy animal to kiss and say goodbye to but a dog has many
responsibilities and can t be left alone. With a dog you ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All dogs good or bad have that gross wet dog smell and need baths often. However cats are way more
efficient, they clean themselves. And that helps with many things. LIke how a dog needs a groomer to
cut his hair every 6 months which can get pricey But cats are low cost when it comes
grooming/bathing. Another example is that many cats are bug repellents. Yes bugs are a cats own
chew toy that flies around with no batteries. Cats are a clean, independant animal that helps with
insect problems I would say that cats are a way better animal and pet. We all can relate when it comes
to funny cat videos. Whether they involve cats bouncing off the walls or just running into them we can
easily say that cats are very comical animals even if they don t know it. A cat is comical but not as
destructive as other pets. They are very agile and can easily regain balance before crashing into your
furniture. Finally when it comes to laser pointers and cats, it is hands down hilarious and best of all
with a cat all of this funny attributes is free entertainment. After a long day we all could use some

Athletic Trainer Case Summary
Terrell did retire to a really nice retirement community. His decision to retire from his work as an
Athletic Trainer was largely based on his deteriorating health. His job had high physical demands,
whether it was carrying injured athletes off the field and always carrying heavy medical kits.
Especially with his arthiritis worsening, even performing simple tasks has become very difficult. He
was also facing some pressure to retire and he believed it was due to ageism, discrimination based on
age (pg. 412). His employers had less confidence in his competence and ability to carry out his job
considering he was very old. Eventhough, as people age their muscle fibers shrink thereby decreasing
strength, he exercised daily and was on healthy diet, which would slow down the decline (pg. 415). He
was very proactive in maintaining his shape and strength which was a requirement of his job, but his
health problems were dampening his efforts. Furthermore, he wanted to spend more time with his son
and grandchildren, who were just entering adolescence. And after, his wife s death, he has been unable

Terrorism And The Effect Of Terrorism
Fox News is not a credible source for viewers to watch because they racial profile and scrutinize
minority groups including Muslims. When a white men commit an act of terror, why are they are
never called terrorist? Why does the word terrorist only apply to Muslims? Who can be a terrorist? Is
labeling something an act of terrorism only applied to someone who commits an act of terror? Or is it
only directed towards a specific group of people such as Muslims or brown people who look Muslim?
According to Lydia O Connor, Muslims have faced discrimination and hate for their identity since the
tragic 9/11 terrorist attack. Muslims are specifically targeted because of how the media such as Fox
News defines terrorists . In America, Fox News is one of the largest cable channels in mainstream
media. Millions of viewers are exposed to the redefinition and reframing of terrorism and the labeling
of the word terrorist. Fox News lack of accountability for their misuse of the word terrorist
consequentially contributes to the bias label only applied to Muslims and most brown individuals.
Nearly sixteen years later, Islamophobia has only progressed and the word terrorist became a word
that is only applicable to people of a particular racial or religious identity. The word terrorist is only
used to identify alleged Muslim terrorist not all individuals who commit acts of terror. The term
terrorism has become politicized because it has inspired political action, laws, and

Using Pen And Paper Becoming A Classroom Of Diverse...
As each semester passes, I am growing in how to assess my students, and use it to build on future
more effective lesson plans that corporate a classroom of diverse students that benefits all learners. I
learned in my methods and severe courses that my lesson plans need to focus on one or two items
only. This can be achieved by concentrating, and being specific in the scope and goal of what you
want the students to achieve. I am now comfortable in knowing there are multiple ways of confirming
understanding of the lesson taught without using pen and paper or a worksheet all the time. Objects,
games, conversation, drawings, one on one, self guided or independent assigned tasks, interactions,
acting, listening, teamwork or working with a buddy are only a few ways to determine knowledge,
knowledge gained, and capability. I learned that the pen and paper becomes necessary with an exit
ticket, when a document is needed to confirm the success of the learners. I learned what an exit ticket
was and how to utilize them in severe and methods. An exit ticket is a good way to document the
learner s success while during the lesson, the students can enjoy the hands on activities that enable
them to be a successful learner without worksheets or test or even realizing they are learning. Students

Summary Of Beverly Tatum s Argument
Beverly Tatum s Argument Beverly Tatum s argument about the multiple identities and how many
people define their self is one of the most notorious articles I ve ever read. She s arguing how the areas
where a person is a member of the dominant or advantaged social group, the category is usually not
mentioned. That element of their identity is so taken for granted by them that it goes without
comment. For example she talks about when she asked her students of color to complete the sentence I
am .... how many of them mention their race, I am Black, Puerto Rican, and Korean American . But,
when she asked white students to complete the sentence they rarely bring up their race. Some may ask
why is it that the white students didn t bring up their race? That s because through out the world and

She uses her examples perfectly, and backed it up very well, they fall right into what she s trying to

set the parameters within which the subordinates operate. The dominant group holds the power and
authority in society relative to the subordinates and determines how that power and authority may be
acceptably used. Miller points out that dominant groups generally do not like to be reminded of the
existence of inequality. Because rationalizations have been created to justify the social arrangements,
it is easy to believe everything is as it should be (Tatum 3). Subordinates groups often find their selves

but this project will connect the two parts of this city that have never had a direct route to the other.
Not only will these bridges join together two parts of Dallas, but it will also help to ease traffic along
the busy highways of this city. The river will also be transformed into an area where different
recreational activities will be held. The West Dallas Lake is long enough that boating, both
competitive and recreational, can be held there for all people. The West Dallas Lake amphitheater will

A Commodity Sign
A commodity sign invests symbolic meaning in products or services as a signifier with an image as
signified. In recent times, consumer culture is driven by our desire for superfluous wants, causing the
production and consumption of commodity signs to become more specialised according to the notion
of capital. Capitalism is characterised by economies that are based on open markets and the ethos of
individuality over community. French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (Distinction 1984) introduced the
schema of subcultural capital, which confers status on its owner in the eyes of the relevant beholder
(Thorton, 2006: 100). Therefore people have the idea that they can buy subcultural capital, as it is seen
as self revealing, in order to impress people or become someone else (Frith, 1996: 5). Thus advertising
was developed as a strategy in generating demand in a contemporary consumer culture. Mass
marketing has split the unity of signifiers and signified into a language of appearances and images of
which we realise as either visible, physical connections or indirect connotations to that which they
represent.
This essay will be addressing ideologies of consumer fetishism and pseudo individuality through
examining the commodity signs found in the mass marketing and advertising of designer cosmetics,
particularly Chanel.
Commodity signs are assembled through advertisements, using already existent meanings and turning
them into modified meanings to suit their purpose. As consumers we

Complications of IVF
About 16% of heterosexual couples ages 18 44 are experiencing infertility. Indeed, it is seen in
previous studies that the older the woman the higher the rate of infertility, but recent studies have
indicated that couples ages 19 29 the rate of infertility has increased in a range from 7% to 13.7%. In
addition, infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after a whole year of intercourse without the
use of contraception. Infertility has a very high emotional impact on couples. According to Sher, Davis
and Stoess (2005) When asked what they considered to be a primary problem in their lives, almost 80
percent of the couples replied that it was their inability to conceive. It usually causes emotional pain
amongst couples. Some methods usually used to treat infertility include counseling, surgery to repair
any anatomical damage and drugs to help with ovulation and sperm function. (Sher et al., 2005)The
last poplar method usually used in North America is known as in vitro fertilization (IVF). IVF is a
process whereas the egg(s) are fertilized outside of a woman s body. When the procedure is successful,
the zygote(s) are placed in the uterus. IVF does have its advantages for woman under the maternal age

A Comparison Of Sin City And Good Will Hunting
Every Film is placed in a category that is apart of formalism, Realism, and Classicism. I believe that
the movies Sin City, Troll Hunter, and Good Will Hunting all fall into one of these categories. Sin City
represents Classicism because it focuses on the storytelling; Troll Hunter represents Realism because
it focuses on the way the filmmaker is making the film and Good Will Hunting represents Formalism
because the filmmaker is drawing attention to self and the film. Even though each film is represented
in different categories, these films still have some similarities. These three films show many
similarities. Sin City focuses on three stories throughout the movie. It shows a misanthrope named
Marv, who s on a mission to seek revenge for the death of a prostitute named Goldie that he s obsessed
with. The next story about Dwight who s in love with Gail, the leader of the ladies of Sin City and

The National Park Service Organic Act Essay
The National Park Service Organic Act: A Contradictory Mandate
I. Introduction and Background The national parks of the United States are a part of the few remaining
regions in the country where nature is relatively untouched and natural beauty can be observed. For
over a century, national parks been popular vacation destinations for citizens and international tourists
alike. Regulation and conservation of these areas is necessary to allow for continued visitation and
enjoyment. The National Parks Service of the Department of the Interior was created with The
National Park Service Organic Act ( The Organic Act ) to maintain the nation s parks and ensure
preservation of the land while encouraging use by the general public. Whether or not conservation and
recreational use are independent of each has been argued within the government as well as among the
general public for decades. Vague language used by The Organic Act s authors has allowed for
manipulation of the phrasing of the fundamental mission statement of the National Park Service to
support or oppose a variety of decisions that will environmentally impact the parks. Personal opinions
and conflicting priorities lead to much ambiguity in the long term implementation of the National Park
Service Organic Act. In 1872, Yellowstone was officially declared the first national park of the United
States of America. In the decades that would follow, many more areas would be set aside as national

Relationship Between Surface Area and Rate Of Reaction Essay
An Experiment To Investigate The Relationship Between Surface Area and Rate Of Reaction
Introduction
The rate of reaction (reaction velocity) may be defined as the rate of change of concentration of a
stated reactant or product. The rate of a reaction is found by measuring the amount of a reactant used
up per unit of time or the amount of a product produced per unit of time. A reaction can be made to go
faster or slower by changing a number of factors. In order for a reaction to occur certain things are
necessary: particles must collide with each other and the collision must have enough energy for the
reaction to occur. If this happens the original bonds are broken and new bonds are formed so that new
products are formed. Successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also when a collision occurs they have more energy and so are more likely to be successful in
breaking and reforming bonds than when they have less energy and are moving more slowly.
Therefore the rate of the reaction will increase. As a rule of thumb when the temperature increases by
10C, the rate of the reaction roughly doubles.
The concentration of the acid The more concentrated the solution, the more particles of reactant are
present in a given volume and the greater the chance of a collision occurring. In dilute acids, with
fewer particles the chance of collisions occurring is reduced.
Therefore if concentration is increased, the reaction rate also increases. This also applies in reactions
between two gases when increasing the pressure has the same effect as increasing the concentration.
The presence of a catalyst A catalyst increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself being used
up. Catalysts are usually transition metals. In the presence of a catalyst, less energy is needed by a
collision in order to be successful. Therefore there are relatively more successful collisions and so the
reaction rate increases. I have decided to investigate how a change in surface area will affect the rate
of the reaction between calcium carbonate (marble chips) and hydrochloric acid. The word equation
for this reaction is:
Calcium + Hydrochloric Carbon + Water + Calcium
Carbonate Acid Dioxide Chloride
CaCO3(s) + 2HCL(aq) = CO2(G) + H2O(l) +

Analysis Of Elizabeth Browning s Sonnets
Elizabeth Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese was published during the Victorian Era, which was
an intense time where poetry was governed by male poets and writers. Women were to remain silent in
poetry, pursue their education, and be controlled by the desires of their father or other male
authoritative figure. The sonnets, at this time, were a form often used for poetry where the men would
address a maiden as an object and subject of love. Elizabeth s sonnets was a representation of her
response to the society s tradition, which brought about a challenge to modern concepts of gender
equality. They not only relate a courtship between a man and a woman, but also a transformation of a
woman to a poet. This shows the proto feminist side of the speaker, but she does not solely focus on
this matter throughout the sonnet, instead she focuses solely on the equality that men and women
achieve through love. In Sonnets from the Portuguese, the speaker frees herself from being both the
object and subject of love and poetic thought by addressing a man as an object and controlling her
own voice and desires to obtain equality. During the Victorian Era, women were controlled by their
father or other authoritative figure and what he desired. Addressing the Sonnets from the Portuguese,
the speaker reflects on her past life, stating, The sweet, sad years, the melancholy years, / Those of my
own life (7 8). This is a reference to the speaker s difficult early life, which was caused from

Essay on Alphonse Scarface Capone
Alphonse amp;#8220;Scarface ; Capone
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Alphonse Capone was born on January 17, 1899. He grew up in rough neighborhood in Brooklyn, NY
where he would attend school only up to the sixth grade, when dropped out. Capone got his nickname

Capone joined his first gang when he became part of the James Street Gang, headed by the well

even be saved by the four million dollar bribe offered by Capone amp;#8217;s attorneys.
In 1934 Capone was transferred to Alcatraz, and in 1939 he was paroled. Suffering from syphilis that
had begun to drive him insane, Capone knew he could no longer run his Chicago empire, so he retired
to his Miami Beach mansion. The exact place where on January 25, 1947 Alphonse

IMPORTANCE IN THE TWENTIES
In 1920 when prohibition became law, a large portion of the population still wanted alcohol. But not
many were willing to put themselves at risk to sell it to others. Some did take advantage of
prohibition, but none more than Al Capone. With the rise of the telephone, the increase of
automobiles, the invention of the Thompson machine guns Capone was able to create an illegal
empire like no other.

Antidepressants are psychiatric medications that are given to patients with depressive disorders to
alleviate symptoms (1). Examples include bupropion (Wellbutrin), fluoxetine (Prozac), paroxetine
(Paxil), and sertraline (Zoloft) (2). They can help fix chemical imbalances of neurotransmitters in the
brain which cause changes in mood and behaviour. Antidepressants can be used for a wide range of

Persuasive Essay On Spanking Your Children
Spanking your children
The intentions of any responsible and loving parent is giving their child the best education possible
and the best values that the child may receive. It is evident that the love of a parent lies not only in
indulgence and giving the child the best, but also in raising a complete, mindful, and balanced
personality. Discipline is the cornerstone of the decent education, and it sometimes requires
challenging measures, one of which is corporal punishment, namely, spanking. Many parents today
feel that it is perfectly fine to use spanking as a form of discipline for their children. There is a huge
debate about this topic all over the world. The use of corporal punishment as child discipline is both
ethical and effective. Spanking a child can teach them right from wrong. It is effective to explain to
the child why their behavior was wrong so that they may understand why the spanking was enforced,
however, only implied in a mindful aim for a strong reason.
Spanking as a discipline measure is only effective when resorted to in a right situation. Spanking itself
is bearing a person with moderate physical effort in order to cause the unpleasant feeling or pain.
Clearly, the technical aim of corporate punishment is painful, however, the measure of pain is
supposed to be reasonable. This is the questionable point, how much of the effort the educator or the
parent is supposed to make in order for the punishment to be effective and not to make the negative on
the child s psyche (Straus, 1991, p.142). The controversy of the corporal punishment also lies in the
question whether it is right or wrong. The benefits of spanking is a clear understanding of the child if
he or she breaks the discipline and that is a prevention measure for the repetition of the same kind of
misbehavior. The standpoint, from which spanking is wrong is that it is considered as, in fact, an act of
violence against the child. Spanking is only wrong when the parent or an educator does not mind the
strength of the spanks, which may cause the child to feel intense pain (Lenta, 2015, p.81). Corporal
punishment is only wrong when it goes beyond the reason and grows into domestic violence. The
disciplinary methods, obviously, depend on

Ip Subnet Design
IP Subnet Design Project
Executive Summary The acronym subnet refers to sub networking. This is the process of logically
dividing an IP network into various divisions or sections within a network. Therefore, sub netting is
the technique and practice of dividing a network into two or more logical networks (Narten,
Nordmark, Simpson Soliman 2007). Within a subnet, all computers connected to it are identifiable by
their almost identical IP addresses. The use of IP addresses is in order to identify uniquely computers
in a subnet by the use of a router or network IP prefix followed by a host or rest field identifier. This
IP address composition makes it easy to trace the network within which the sub network is ... Show

Hence, there is a reduction of recipients at each sub network the sub networks through using sub
networks. This, therefore, speeds up the performance of the network (Mogul Postel, 1985). CBCS
Technical IP Sub netting
Problem
CBCS has Wide Area Networks in place in its new locations, in the Houston region. It also has two
other regions: San Francisco and Denver. CBCS has an issue with the IP addressing infrastructure in
place. The current infrastructure makes use of static IP addresses, which in truth, causes a lot of
overheads in terms of network management and traffic. There is the lack of a VLAN structure in place
to manage and isolate any broadcast traffic that the CBCS network utilizes. On the same note, the
Wide Area Network traffic that CBCS makes use of has also been noted to be struggling to handle the
traffic of the CBCS network. Under CBCS, there are four main departments: Human Resources,
Finance, Sales, and Research and Development.
IP Sub netting Solution IP sub netting will be the best solution to take into account for CBCS.
Through sub netting, it is possible to divide logically the CBCS network into four main sub networks
that can be sub netted, again, to form sub sub networks within them, accordingly (Pummill Manning,
1995). The procedure of sub netting entails the separation and differentiation of the main CBCS
network and the CBCS subnet portion of an IP address from the host IP identifier. A bit wise AND

Contributions To The 14th Amendment
Robinson 1 Robinson 4
Robinson 3 Anthony Robinson Mrs Sharifian Govt 2305 28 July 2017 14TH Amendment To be
considered an American means you were born on US soil. For majority of Americans this is similar
thanks to the 14th Amendment which allows any person born in our territories to be granted
citizenship. But this law is quickly being taking advantage of by foreigners who seek to rack the
benefits of the citizenship illegally. Therefore, it is important that the 14th Amendment is updated to
have striker laws against any person seeking to enter this country legally or unlawfully to fit our
current situations in America.
Immigration is now at the forefront of problems in America. One of the main contributions to that
problem is Birth Tourism when an immigrant couple come to America legally to give birth to their
child in the states so that the child will be considered a US citizen (Sheehan, 2015). Birth Tourism is a
controversial matter because people who enter the country on visas are technically given permission
from the united states government to enter the country lawfully. Law makers are calling for stricter
laws to slow the growth rate or cute the numbers in half. The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868
which is still early in our countries history considering that at the time the fathers could not predict the
massive immigration problem the country is having (Will, 2010). Areas like California, and New York
are experiencing large tourist groups from China on visas

Uncle Willie By Maya Angelou Essay
The character that I choosed is Uncle Willie. The reason why I choosed him is that he has this life that
is different than the other characters in the book. What that means is he doesn t have kids or a wife.
Like Maya Angelou has parents and Uncle Willie has no one, only a few people that he knows. His
background is that he tries to hide his feelings and he is not the only one. Like Maya Angelou hid her
feelings about something when she was 7 or 8 years old. Also that he has been crippled when he was A
little kid. Uncle Willie looks like he is poor but really isn t. When he sits he looks like a giant black Z.
He sits like this because he has been crippled. Also the left side of his face is pulled down. He also has

Learning Theory And Its Impact On Education
Learning is essential in today s society as education becomes significant as economy advances. How
each learns varies, and there are different approaches used for learning. Learning leads to enduring
change in a person, and it is quite a dynamic process where the knowledge and skills to the learner are
different after the learning.
Learning theories as the conceptual frameworks that describe ways in which information gets
absorbed, processed as well as retained in a learning process. Getting an understanding of knowledge
development enables the teacher define methodology; to ensure effective teaching, attending to how
the learner learns ensures that the practices used by the teacher are enhanced.

The Darwinian thinking was also incorporated by Brunner in his basic assumptions on learning. He
supposed that prime evolution and human culture were necessary for understanding growth and
development. Individual differences and lack of standard sequence is also a basis for thinking. He
implements the concept that culture moulds mind and gives a raw material for constricting the world
and self conception (Bruner, 2009).
The characteristics of the Bruner s theory include;
Predisposition to learn that states that experience moves the learner towards the desire of learning.
The structure of knowledge; knowledge allows learner to be able to grasp ready information. The
structures vary, and preferences also vary.
The modes of representations in learning are words, visuals, and symbols
Effective sequencing; there is no specific sequence that will fit every learner. Sequencing can ease
making learning cumbersome.
The constructivist view learning as a means for mental construction through combination of already
existing knowledge with fresh information to create a meaning. The theorist gave a proposal the
learning is active, involves contextual process, social activity geared on getting a meaning and the
learner becomes a responsible agent contextualize what is perceived and understood in the
surrounding. The learner gets to interact with the immediate environment to conceptualize.

The Impact Of Slavery On Black Families Today
Before I started to read this article, I thought of many ways and experiences of how slavery affected
black families to still have an impact on us today. I feel that, slavery impacted black families strongly.
Some ways slavery impacted black families is by, the way we cook and prepare food, while slaves we
had to find ways to cook food for our family, some other ways slavery has impacted black families
today is also by, bringing black families close together by, giving us the urge to want to know about
our people and where we came from, slavery today has given us independence to work and get our
own, also, one of the most important ways I feel slavery has impacted black families today is by,
bringing us closer to God.

Spanking As A Form Of Punishment
Every parent has had to face the question: how do I punish my child when they misbehave? Since
parenting does not come with a guidebook or set of rules, it is ultimately up to the parent to see that
bad behavior in their children is dealt with accordingly. For centuries, spanking has been the ultimate
choice of child punishment. However, there are many arguments against it today. Some say corporal
punishment of children can affect their personalities later on in life. Some people view physical
punishment child abuse. Where does the line lay between abuse and punishment? Other arguments say
that physical punishment of a child has no effect at all to the child; it teaches them neither right nor
wrong. Spanking is seen as a form of punishment ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Spanking is okay, in moderation, and only when done in a loving matter. Spanking must be done only
for a means of discipline, not abuse because, discipline is instilled to have self control,... whereas
abuse is acting without any control in behavior (Prabhat). Now, to ensure that spanking is done
effectively and not to excess, people must be in control of their own emotions and not caught up in a
bout of anger. The point of spanking is to teach, not let off steam. According to an article in Focus on
the Family, The most effective approach to spanking children is using these seven steps: Give the
child a clear warning beforehand, make evident the child s responsibility for his/her misbehavior,
avoid embarrassing the child at all costs, let the child know your disappointment as a parent, only swat
with a flick of the wrist to avoid too much force (Ingram). All of this can be accomplished with a
healthy parent child relationship where authority is established in a healthy manner. Incorporating
different forms of punishment can also be useful in developing that parent child relationship. Also, the
punishment must be proportionate to the wrong doings of the child; less naughty offenses should come
with lighter consequences, while more unruly behavior should come with harsher

Elon Musk Life As Innovator
Elon Musk
Musk s Motivation
Elon Musk grew up in South Africa. His father was an engineer and his mother was a model. Maybe
his passion for engineering and design came from him. Elon was a smart kid and read everything that
he could get his hands on. As kid he was already busy with programming his own space game, Blaster.
After he went to America he studied at Stanford. He asked the school for the permission to start an
own business, but if it would fail that he still could go back to Stanford. This was the moment that
Elon Musk life as innovator started. He started his own business with an idea that it would change the
world. This Idea was to take the newspapers online. His idea worked but before it became as big as he
wanted he sold the company for 307 million and his share was 22 million.
After living a few months from his money he wanted to go on because he still needed something that
would change the world and that was his biggest motivation. He wanted people to believe in his ideas.
So he went on with is developing and started the business that became Paypal to make electronic cash
transverse go faster. This innovation transformed the financial industry, which we still use today. The
company was sold to eBay for 1,5 billion and Musk received 165 million. He could buy anything with

The Importance Of Creating A Comfortable Context
1) I take responsibility for creating a comfortable context in which to communicate. I arrange for the
client s comfort. Within the role play session of providing drop in counselling to a client I took
responsibility of the setting. Prior to when the client arrived to the session, I as the counsellor took the
time to prepare the space which was set to be intimate, personal, comforting, inviting, and non
distracting. To create this type of space I provided large chairs for the clients comfort with a proper
amount of distance between the chairs to be intimate and personal without infringing on a personal
boundary. The chairs were purposely situated to be facing each other for easier communication, and
sight to watch for emotions, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I showed my client I was genuinely interested and authentic by explaining to her my role at the
resource center and how I was there to sit and speak with her regarding herself. I was genuine by not
using authority over the client and creating a power struggle however instead was attentive and
responsive to the needs that benefited the client. Furthermore I am an empathic person and presented
that to the client throughout the session. Empathy was presented by understanding the client s
thoughts, feelings and meaning of their own experiences and perspectives. It was further shown with
genuineness by checking I fully understood the client s experiences and perspectives and was not
wrong in that understanding, showing counselor wanted to be able to have the shared understanding
and empathetic approach with the client. By doing this and showing the client that I wanted to
perceive the world from their point of view I showed with empathy that her view had value and that I
was accepting of her.
3) I focus my attention by filtering out my own noise (physiological and psychological) and tuning in
to the client. Counsellor focused attention onto client by filtering out noise which is a disruption or
distraction that could have interfered with the transmission and interpretation of information during
the communication processes. Physiological noise that had to be filtered out as a counsellor during
this session was a

  • 2. Acute Treatment Of Acute Kidney Injury Acute kidney injury (AKI, previously referred to as acute renal failure) is a common and serious condition particularly among hospitalized patients with acute illness and those undergoing major surgery. It can be life threatening but it can also be reversible. Clinically AKI is characterized by abrupt loss of kidney function resulting in a rapid decline in the glomerular filtration rate (GFR),water and electrolytes imbalance, and accumulation of nitrogenous wastes such as blood urea nitrogen and creatinine. Epidemiology of AKI The mortality rate of AKI is very high (up to 80% mortality in critically ill children and adults). The incidence rate of AKI has increased in hospitalized patients gradually from 4.9% in 1983 [1] to 20% in 2012 [2].There are more than 35 definitions of AKI [3] which makes the incidence rate varies greatly due to the lack of a standard and Definition. The Acute Dialysis Quality Initiative (ADQI) published (RIFLE) criteria (Risk, Injury, Failure, Loss, End Stag) in 2004 (table1). Pathophysiology: In order to study a biomarker of AKI, It is very important to understand the early response mechanism of the kidney to acute injury. AKI results from multiple causative factors which are classified as pre renal (ischemia, hypovalemia), renal(toxins, drugs, infection and inflammation of the kidney e.g glomerulonephritis and acute tubular necrosis) and post renal (obstruction e.g Acute obstructive uropathy, benign prostatic hyperplasia and kidney stone). This ... An article by the Monitor of Psychology demonstrates through a survey of health providers the reality of the demographic they are reaching out to. It also addresses the different ways that practitioners are treating clients. According to the study, thirty nine percent of respondents shared electronic medical records with other professionals. And while only 19 percent saw patients alongside other professionals, 36 percent participated in multidisciplinary team meetings and 33 percent reported integrated treatment plans (Clay 2016). Being bilingual, Hispanic, Christian, and my general passion for psychology will propel me in my ambitions. I have much to offer but also have a lot to do before I can work in the field. Namely, I must assess my own opinions and challenge them as they will be challenged in the future by future colleagues, church members, and by the community I am around. This is necessary because of my own biases, dogmatism in certain areas, and because of the progress of man. The views of my faith, the people I am influenced by, and the reason I care must all be challenged. They may be warped and feeding something inside of me or they be good to some extent; at the moment, I am not currently aware of that. • 5. Essay On Ellen Degeneres It was around the same time she was honored with the best female comedian award that she began starring in television series and appearing in a few sitcoms. In 1994, after the second season of These Friends of Mine, starring DeGeneres as a bookstore employee, a few moderations were made to the show; one being the change of title to Ellen. As the reviews and ratings of the show started to improve, so did the connection between a mast number of viewers and DeGeneres eccentric, witty persona. This eventually led to consistent nominations for Emmy awards and winning the prestigious Peabody Award in 1997 for all her diligent work. Ellen DeGeneres. Although DeGeneres felt she was shoved back an endless number of miles, she continued to be herself and persevere. Not only did she struggle professionally, but personally as well. DeGeneres once told People magazine, I went through a phase, whether it was true or not, where my perception was, Everyone hates me now, and it felt horrible. With hopeful emotions, she continued to appear in many films. However, none of these led to her being a successful film actress. Amongst the dismay, a significant positive note struck her professional life, giving her career a second act, as some described. Shortly after the terroristic attack of 9/11, the entertainment industry was clueless as how to give laughter to its audiences. An offering to host the prime time Emmy awards, that was set aside twice due to the tragedy, was being reoffered to her. According to Entertainment Weekly, DeGeneres impressed her fellow actors and millions of viewers with what Fonesca described as a witty, respectful, and wise performance. Speech On Physical Fitness Physical fitness plays an important role in one s life, with the growing needs of people, tension, anxiety and stress have become one of the most common problems in modern life. Many people suffer from potentially debilitating symptoms of stress and stress related health issues at some point in their lives and surprisingly people are often unaware that they are suffering from stress related health issues. Studies have shown that people who are stressed are more likely to eat unhealthy food and hence land in complications such as diabetes, obesity and other joint related problems such as arthritis. High levels of stress in pregnant women may also trigger dangerous changes in their children, which include behavioral and developmental issues. • 7. The Brain Drain and Revolution in the Late 19th and Early... Introduction By the end of the 19th century, Chinese officials were beginning to realize that their country s educational infrastructure was becoming increasingly anachronistic. Traditional education largely ignored technology considered it low class, even and students instead focused on cultivating a sense of moral righteousness. Yet, the Confucian centered examination system was beginning to prove ineffective in a world where modern militaries predominated in international relations. China learned this painful lesson during a succession of lost wars, eventually entering a long period of introspection, quite notably, by first looking outward. Foreign education systems were of particular interest to this nation in transition. Foreign ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In fact, the late Qing Empire s encounter with Western civilization was necessarily heralded by guns, warships, and other new instruments of Western military might. The narrative of China s dynastic glory was replaced with a newer, less flattering image of China as the sick man of Asia (Holcombe 193). Fears of the encroaching imperial powers were only heightened after China lost in the 1865 60 Opium War, as were fears of increasing internal disorder, as evinced by the 1851 64 Taiping Rebellion (Bary 661; Rhoads 1 2). China would later suffer yet another humiliating defeat in the Sino Japanese War of 1894 5, but they first instituted a series of reforms in an attempt to curtail foreign dominance, particularly in the military sphere. China thus entered a period of so called self strengthening, a government led restoration that spanned the years between 1961 and 1895. This movement was largely a response to these early military defeats and the nation s perceived sense of inferiority (Rhoads 1 2; Holcombe 201). In a phrase, the goal of self strengthening projects and the larger Tongzhi Restoration (1862 74) was to emulate the Western countries and master their technical skills (Holcombe 201; Rhoads 9). In order to do this, China first had to open its borders to Western influence; the late Qing first allowed ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It all revolved around the Civil War dating back to 1861 1865 where Prince William Forest Park was the town of Dumfries. A Baltimore native John Detrick managed to hike along the Quantico Creek and discovered something shiny in the water which just so happened to be pyrite, also known as Iron Sulfide. With this discovery there came three shafts that lived pyrite. The Cabin Branch Pyrite Mine was the only pyrite mine in the area and really helped out the locals by boosting the economy and providing jobs for farmers who worked as laborers for the mine and then went home to tend to their farm after working. The company was such a big success that by 1917, Virginia produced more pyrite than any other state and continued to provide profitable income to families and businesses located in the area. This would be Batestown and Hickory Ridge at the time in history. With a booming economy, the mining company was able to rake in even more of a profit when World War I struck due to the fact that it was able to produce gunpowder during the mid nineteenth century. Additionally, the center of flourishment in the Dutch Republic was Amsterdam, which was the foremost trading and banking center in all of Europe. Additionally, another major conflict of militaristic means was against the English, in which approximately 2,000 to 2,700 Dutch ships were seized by the English in the three Anglo Dutch Wars, (Doc. 3). This document primarily showed that Dutch had major troubles with their security to other foreign nations. England was the main competitors of the Dutch for trade during this time period, and these seizing of ships made perfect sense if the English wanted to come out on top. For example, these conflicts are shown on a map of the naval battles between the English and Dutch, during the years 1652 1674, (Doc. 1). On the map the most battles occurred between the Dutch trade route that went through waters close to England, which ended up being one of the biggest challenges to the Dutch republic militarily. Marquis de Pamponne, French ambassador to the Dutch Republic, reported to the French government that the wars between the English and Dutch were primarily over trade and obtaining trade routes, (Doc. 11). When looking at the TTI generic business strategy for their tax preparation business, the firm originally operated and competed as a cost leader that also had a first mover advantage. When it first opened, the company saw the advantage of offering cheaper tax services than the CPAs. To achieve the cheaper price, the company made the conscious decision of hiring inexperienced employees, who they could then train, instead of CPAs. This ensured that their costs would be much lower than the average CPA firm, since CPAs are likely paid more. It is accumulated in marine areas. The Honeycomb sillia structure is useful because of its high absorptive capacity and surface area. It is also very chemically stable. Its principal use is filtration. This substance of diatomite is extracted from many countries around the world. One environmental specification of color is put on diatomite, because it is a calcine product. It has to be of a light whitish color or it is not available to be mined. This helps environmentally because the color determines a standard for what companies can and cannot mine. I think one way for lessening the impact on the environment, would be to work harder at developing recycling methods for diatomite cake. If recycling could be put into use not as much diatomite would need to be mined. To excavate diatomite, different combinations of rippers, dozers, scrapers, front end loaders, power shovels, and dump trucks are used. Underground mining is not too uncommon outside the United States. Usually, room and pillar methods are used, often with equipment similar to that used in open pits; in the smallest mines, hand tools are used. Dredging is used to recover diatomaceous mud from the bottom of lakes. Since all these methods are used in excavation, I think the best idea would be to choose the method with the least impact environmentally. Sixty four percent of the diatomite mined is used in filtration. Fourteen percent is used for absorbents, and twelve percent used in fillers. While two percent used for insulation, and ... • 13. Perception Of Authority Nil Patel Perception of Authority An instance of travel on the most elementary level is a journey to another location. In Home and Harem, Inderpal Grewal identifies travel as an institution of England. The voyage to new territories had sparked a new era filled with new opportunities and ideals in the European continent. Most importantly travel became an agent of English nationalism and was a key aspect in rise of imperialism. To expand England s domain of influence became a collective journey and eventually being a subject of England was equivalent to being imperialist. For people that could not travel, the guidebook acted as the object of mediation between authority and those it was imposed on (105). At the Metropolitan Museum, the Egyptian exhibit is also represented under a certain niche monitored by authority. The spectator culture may vary based on prior knowledge, but the carefully fabricated environment showcases how the controller authorizes representation within their domains. There is an unsettled discussion on the pertinence of imperialism to all classes in England. While some consider it just a concern of the nobility others link it to the manifestation of newborn nationalism and patriotism in all classes beginning from the mid 19th century. John Mackenzie in Propaganda and Empire and Imperialism and Pop Culture introduces the concept of generalized imperial vision as a counterview to the discussion. He sees classes as formations that are predetermined. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In the leadership role it s not up to the counselor to fix all problems. All through the years the role the school counselors play in using information uniquely available to them to examine and change current policy and practice. Whether it be course taking patterns, student placements, or student success and failure rates, school counselors are poised to be key change agents within the school. That is a big job that I feel school counselors don t get credit for enough. Many times, school counselors are told what to do by administrators who fail to understand the contribution the school counselor can make to the school. The book was written by a close friend of hers whose name is Octavia Vivian. The story tells how Coretta, as a young woman, had grown up in Alabama. She later went to Antioch College, and later found out that she, as a colored young woman, would not be allowed to teach, mix, or mingle with the whites in the state of Ohio. She later explored a musical career in Boston where she was to meet her future husband Martin Luther King, Jr (Vivian). Coretta was born to her parents, whose names were Bernice McMurry and Obadiah Scott, and grew up and was raised on her parent s farm located in Heiberger, Alabama. Since she grew up during the time and era of segregation, she, as a child, attended a one room school house and later graduated from Lincoln Normal School from a town close by called Marion, Alabama. Vivian also mentions that Coretta s mother was a school bus driver for all the colored children to be able to attend that particular school (Vivian). Later in the 1940s, Coretta attended Antioch College, located in Yellow Springs, Ohio. She studied music education and sang in the school choirs and the local churches. In her senior year she went through the issue of not being able to teach since Yellow Springs would not allow her to interact and mix, as a colored woman and teacher, with the whites at their schools. • 16. Student Loan Debt And High Cost Of Education AMERICAN INNOVATION, TOO EXPENSIVE TO EARN Although millions of college students graduate each year, many of them are not successful after their education. Many jump in without knowing what they want to do and at the end once they have their degree they realize that it wasn t what they wanted. Now they have thousands of dollars in debt and a degree they dislike or a degree so common it earns them but a dollar or two more than a high school diploma would. Some can t even find job, yet they have the burden to pay back student loans, but what if we as students did not have the burden of debt? Would that make a difference? Could pursing a second degree be more feasible without the burden of expanding your debt? Student loan debt and high cost of education has become a huge issue in this country, they are deterring individuals from pursuing a degree, at times prolongs their education time frame and more often than not we are left with a huge debt to pay. I believe this deterrent is gradually affecting the number of innovators in our country. How can we fix this? With interest rates as high as 9.37% through SallieMae one of the leaders in financing education, student loan debt has become a big business at the expense of the American people that want to better themselves. The national student loan debt surpassed 1 trillion dollars with the average individual debt being thirty thousand dollars. • 17. Symbolism In The Story Of An Hour By Kate Chopin The Story of an Hour by Kate Chopin is an immaculate illustration of how a short story can have the ability to make a considerable impact on an entire nation. Chopin manipulates her writing effectively with her outstanding applications of certain literary techniques. Moreover, these techniques such as pathos, irony and symbolism, amplify the intensity and overall impact women oppression had on Chopin and many other women during the late nineteenth century. In addition, the story overshadows the protagonist, Mrs. Mallard, and her persevering fight to overcome the mournful news regarding the death of her husband. She was informed about her husband s death by her sister Josephine, who told her in a rather gentle fashion which ultimately caused Mrs. Mallard to go to the hospital with an unfortunate affliction of heart trouble. Initially, Mrs. Mallard rhapsodically struggled in trying to cope with this news as it left her in a paralyzed state of sorrow but she then realized that she gained a great deal of freedom due to to her husband s death. Furthermore, Chopin leaves out many details within her text, which obligates the reader to fill in the gaps within Chopin s iceberg imagery like writing and gain a perception of women s mistreatment during the mid 1800 s. Kate Chopin inserts many applications of pathos within her writing. There stood, facing the open window, a comfortable, roomy armchair. When investing in a term deposit, the individual must invest a minimum of $5000. This sum of money can be kept in a term deposit for as little as 1 month or as long as 5 years. A term deposit has a low rate of risk, so the invested money is guaranteed to earn interest over a period of time. However, since it is a fixed rate, investment returns are likely to be minimal. This negative is counterbalanced by the absolute security of this investment contract. Returns will be comparable to those from non fixed rates depending on the economic environment. Additionally, this investment is a suitable option for young people as it allows them to redraw the money after the maturity date. With the expenses that typically arise when starting a home or family, it is likely that the ability to access this fund after the investment has ceased would provide a major financial benefit. This money cannot be accessed throughout the investment period, ensuring that the sum cannot be spent. Interest on a term deposit is compounded every 4 weeks, 6 months or yearly, depending on the preference of the individual. The Coffee Crisis | | 2/5/2012 2/5/2012 Tamara Young To begin, The Coffee Crisis is about an acute coffee crisis and how it threatens millions of small coffee farmers around the world and is putting economic growth, as well as social and political stability, at risk in scores of coffee producing countries in Central and South America, Africa and Asia. In 2004, the governments of coffee producing countries were considering how to respond to the dramatic decline in coffee prices caused in part by a large increase in coffee production in Brazil and Vietnam. Coffee was the main source of income for roughly 25 million farmers, mostly small land holders, in Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Coffee prices had hit 40 year lows in 2001 and had remained ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The crisis in the coffee sector continues. Its impact cannot be understated, since coffee constitutes the livelihood of an estimated 25 million families around the world. In world trade, coffee is the second leading commodity, after petroleum. The worldwide coffee market spans some 71 countries, of which 51 are significant producers and 20 are key consumers. Prices have not kept up with production costs to the extent needed to make participation in the coffee business profitable for most producers, even though the crop year 2003 2004 witnessed a worldwide decrease in production. (Central America The Coffee Crisis: Effects and Strategies for Moving Forward, 1992) In coffee producing countries, which account for over 26% of world consumption, the situation is more diverse. In some countries, prices of coffee have fallen in local currency and consumption may therefore be stimulated. In Brazil, the largest coffee market among producing countries, the devaluation of the real has maintained prices of green coffee at pre crisis levels. As a whole, consumption in these markets is not expected to suffer any major negative impact. The root cause of the coffee crisis can be linked to three factors: over production; under consumption; and market oligopoly. In short, these are all problems associated with the economics of coffee farming. Without resolution, they will lead to both social and environmental breakdowns. (Central America The ... One of the most celebrated forms of democracy, the Westminster model has been a defining feature of the British political system for the past century. Coined after the location where the Houses of Parliament stand, the system is also sometimes referred to as the majoritarian model, in that majority rule is a central attribute of the model. The characterising factors of the model have been present throughout modern British political history, but more apparent in some years than others. Despite earning 22.1% of the national vote, the Liberal Democrats won only 62 seats. All the elections since 1979, and particularly the 2005 election, all re enforce the argument that the UK is still very much a majoritarian model construct – large parliamentary majorities are achieved with under half the popular vote. Despite pledges by New Labour in the run up to the 1997 elections to seriously think about reforming the electoral system, which would have been a significant step away from the Westminster model, this has failed to materialise, and in practice is very unlikely to. The party in power often owe the plurality method in some part for granting them more power than their share of votes would have constituted under a PR system, and so, with their majority in parliament, a change to the constitution in the form of electoral system change is unthinkable. • 32. A Commodity Sign A commodity sign invests symbolic meaning in products or services as a signifier with an image as signified. In recent times, consumer culture is driven by our desire for superfluous wants, causing the production and consumption of commodity signs to become more specialised according to the notion of capital. Capitalism is characterised by economies that are based on open markets and the ethos of individuality over community. French Sociologist Pierre Bourdieu (Distinction 1984) introduced the schema of subcultural capital, which confers status on its owner in the eyes of the relevant beholder (Thorton, 2006: 100). Therefore people have the idea that they can buy subcultural capital, as it is seen as self revealing, in order to impress people or become someone else (Frith, 1996: 5). Thus advertising was developed as a strategy in generating demand in a contemporary consumer culture. Mass marketing has split the unity of signifiers and signified into a language of appearances and images of which we realise as either visible, physical connections or indirect connotations to that which they represent. This essay will be addressing ideologies of consumer fetishism and pseudo individuality through examining the commodity signs found in the mass marketing and advertising of designer cosmetics, particularly Chanel. • 37. Relationship Between Surface Area and Rate Of Reaction Essay An Experiment To Investigate The Relationship Between Surface Area and Rate Of Reaction Introduction The rate of reaction (reaction velocity) may be defined as the rate of change of concentration of a stated reactant or product. The rate of a reaction is found by measuring the amount of a reactant used up per unit of time or the amount of a product produced per unit of time. A reaction can be made to go faster or slower by changing a number of factors. In order for a reaction to occur certain things are necessary: particles must collide with each other and the collision must have enough energy for the reaction to occur. If this happens the original bonds are broken and new bonds are formed so that new products are formed. Successful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also when a collision occurs they have more energy and so are more likely to be successful in breaking and reforming bonds than when they have less energy and are moving more slowly. Therefore the rate of the reaction will increase. As a rule of thumb when the temperature increases by 10C, the rate of the reaction roughly doubles. The concentration of the acid The more concentrated the solution, the more particles of reactant are present in a given volume and the greater the chance of a collision occurring. In dilute acids, with fewer particles the chance of collisions occurring is reduced. Therefore if concentration is increased, the reaction rate also increases. This also applies in reactions between two gases when increasing the pressure has the same effect as increasing the concentration. The presence of a catalyst A catalyst increases the rate of a chemical reaction without itself being used up. Catalysts are usually transition metals. In the presence of a catalyst, less energy is needed by a collision in order to be successful. Therefore there are relatively more successful collisions and so the reaction rate increases. I have decided to investigate how a change in surface area will affect the rate of the reaction between calcium carbonate (marble chips) and hydrochloric acid. The word equation for this reaction is: Calcium + Hydrochloric Carbon + Water + Calcium Carbonate Acid Dioxide Chloride CaCO3(s) + 2HCL(aq) = CO2(G) + H2O(l) + ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 38. Analysis Of Elizabeth Browning s Sonnets Elizabeth Browning s Sonnets from the Portuguese was published during the Victorian Era, which was an intense time where poetry was governed by male poets and writers. Women were to remain silent in poetry, pursue their education, and be controlled by the desires of their father or other male authoritative figure. The sonnets, at this time, were a form often used for poetry where the men would address a maiden as an object and subject of love. Elizabeth s sonnets was a representation of her response to the society s tradition, which brought about a challenge to modern concepts of gender equality. They not only relate a courtship between a man and a woman, but also a transformation of a woman to a poet. This shows the proto feminist side of the speaker, but she does not solely focus on this matter throughout the sonnet, instead she focuses solely on the equality that men and women achieve through love. In Sonnets from the Portuguese, the speaker frees herself from being both the object and subject of love and poetic thought by addressing a man as an object and controlling her own voice and desires to obtain equality. During the Victorian Era, women were controlled by their father or other authoritative figure and what he desired. Addressing the Sonnets from the Portuguese, the speaker reflects on her past life, stating, The sweet, sad years, the melancholy years, / Those of my own life (7 8). This is a reference to the speaker s difficult early life, which was caused from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 41. Persuasive Essay On Spanking Your Children Spanking your children The intentions of any responsible and loving parent is giving their child the best education possible and the best values that the child may receive. It is evident that the love of a parent lies not only in indulgence and giving the child the best, but also in raising a complete, mindful, and balanced personality. Discipline is the cornerstone of the decent education, and it sometimes requires challenging measures, one of which is corporal punishment, namely, spanking. Many parents today feel that it is perfectly fine to use spanking as a form of discipline for their children. There is a huge debate about this topic all over the world. The use of corporal punishment as child discipline is both ethical and effective. Spanking a child can teach them right from wrong. It is effective to explain to the child why their behavior was wrong so that they may understand why the spanking was enforced, however, only implied in a mindful aim for a strong reason. Spanking as a discipline measure is only effective when resorted to in a right situation. Spanking itself is bearing a person with moderate physical effort in order to cause the unpleasant feeling or pain. Clearly, the technical aim of corporate punishment is painful, however, the measure of pain is supposed to be reasonable. This is the questionable point, how much of the effort the educator or the parent is supposed to make in order for the punishment to be effective and not to make the negative on the child s psyche (Straus, 1991, p.142). The controversy of the corporal punishment also lies in the question whether it is right or wrong. The benefits of spanking is a clear understanding of the child if he or she breaks the discipline and that is a prevention measure for the repetition of the same kind of misbehavior. The standpoint, from which spanking is wrong is that it is considered as, in fact, an act of violence against the child. Spanking is only wrong when the parent or an educator does not mind the strength of the spanks, which may cause the child to feel intense pain (Lenta, 2015, p.81). Corporal punishment is only wrong when it goes beyond the reason and grows into domestic violence. The disciplinary methods, obviously, depend on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is the process of logically dividing an IP network into various divisions or sections within a network. Therefore, sub netting is the technique and practice of dividing a network into two or more logical networks (Narten, Nordmark, Simpson Soliman 2007). Within a subnet, all computers connected to it are identifiable by their almost identical IP addresses. The use of IP addresses is in order to identify uniquely computers in a subnet by the use of a router or network IP prefix followed by a host or rest field identifier. Hence, there is a reduction of recipients at each sub network the sub networks through using sub networks. This, therefore, speeds up the performance of the network (Mogul Postel, 1985). CBCS Technical IP Sub netting Problem CBCS has Wide Area Networks in place in its new locations, in the Houston region. It also has two other regions: San Francisco and Denver. CBCS has an issue with the IP addressing infrastructure in place. The current infrastructure makes use of static IP addresses, which in truth, causes a lot of overheads in terms of network management and traffic. There is the lack of a VLAN structure in place to manage and isolate any broadcast traffic that the CBCS network utilizes. On the same note, the Wide Area Network traffic that CBCS makes use of has also been noted to be struggling to handle the traffic of the CBCS network. Under CBCS, there are four main departments: Human Resources, Finance, Sales, and Research and Development. IP Sub netting Solution IP sub netting will be the best solution to take into account for CBCS. Through sub netting, it is possible to divide logically the CBCS network into four main sub networks that can be sub netted, again, to form sub sub networks within them, accordingly (Pummill Manning, 1995). The procedure of sub netting entails the separation and differentiation of the main CBCS network and the CBCS subnet portion of an IP address from the host IP identifier. For majority of Americans this is similar thanks to the 14th Amendment which allows any person born in our territories to be granted citizenship. But this law is quickly being taking advantage of by foreigners who seek to rack the benefits of the citizenship illegally. Therefore, it is important that the 14th Amendment is updated to have striker laws against any person seeking to enter this country legally or unlawfully to fit our current situations in America. Immigration is now at the forefront of problems in America. One of the main contributions to that problem is Birth Tourism when an immigrant couple come to America legally to give birth to their child in the states so that the child will be considered a US citizen (Sheehan, 2015). Birth Tourism is a controversial matter because people who enter the country on visas are technically given permission from the united states government to enter the country lawfully. Law makers are calling for stricter laws to slow the growth rate or cute the numbers in half. The 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868 which is still early in our countries history considering that at the time the fathers could not predict the massive immigration problem the country is having (Will, 2010). Since parenting does not come with a guidebook or set of rules, it is ultimately up to the parent to see that bad behavior in their children is dealt with accordingly. For centuries, spanking has been the ultimate choice of child punishment. However, there are many arguments against it today. Some say corporal punishment of children can affect their personalities later on in life. Some people view physical punishment child abuse. Where does the line lay between abuse and punishment? Spanking must be done only for a means of discipline, not abuse because, discipline is instilled to have self control,... whereas abuse is acting without any control in behavior (Prabhat). Now, to ensure that spanking is done effectively and not to excess, people must be in control of their own emotions and not caught up in a bout of anger. The point of spanking is to teach, not let off steam. According to an article in Focus on the Family, The most effective approach to spanking children is using these seven steps: Give the child a clear warning beforehand, make evident the child s responsibility for his/her misbehavior, avoid embarrassing the child at all costs, let the child know your disappointment as a parent, only swat with a flick of the wrist to avoid too much force (Ingram). All of this can be accomplished with a healthy parent child relationship where authority is established in a healthy manner. Incorporating different forms of punishment can also be useful in developing that parent child relationship.
