My Soccer Career
As soon as I step on the field with my team, the crowd roaring, I know my job is to entertain others
and that is where my soccer career comes in play. I have experienced a lot in my soccer career, I know
this is what I want to do with my life because I get to entertain a lot of people and I have a passion for
the game. One day I was watching a Real Madrid game vs Athletico Madrid in the Champions League
final. A guy named Cristiano Ronaldo was playing, I had a passion for soccer before that game but I
did research on Cristiano Ronaldo, I learned very quickly that I wanted to be just like him. The game
of soccer has a lot of emotion to it and I am a very emotional person, that s why my personality fits
one of the greatest soccer players ever said I learned all about life with a ball at my feet (Ronaldinho).
This career is one of the only ways I will try so hard in life, it is my #1 priority to play soccer, that is
what draws me to this career. My other career is a video editor, because without movies and other
entertaining things would not be around. Soccer inspired me to make soccer video edits. I have been
doing that for 2 years, I fit for this job because I am very good with editing software and I am
motivated by it. For both of these careers no special clothing is required, except in soccer I have to
wear athletic clothing. The lifestyle of a video editor is easy for the most part. All they have to do is
make video edits for any company they are a part of. According

Optimal Currency Area
Discuss whether the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is an optimal currency
area.
To give an opinion on whether or not the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is
an optimal currency area, first an optimal currency area must be defined. An optimal currency area
was defined by Pilbeam (2013) as A region for which it is optimal to have a common currency and a
common monetary policy . For the ECOWAS to qualify as an optimal currency area it must fulfil
certain criteria, it is unlikely to fulfil all of the criteria entirely, but to be deemed an optimal currency
area it must score reasonably. The factors are also not necessarily equally weighted, while they are all
important some may be more crucial than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Financial Integration
This concerns a country s ability to gain external financing. If a country has a high level of financial
integration with the countries surrounding it then it would be able to finance its deficits without the
need to alter the exchange rate and its monetary policy. Therefore an economic community with a high
level of financial integration would be well suited to a monetary union. In the ECOWAS there are
signs of progress towards a higher level of financial integration. This can be seen through the
establishment of the single banking commission (Commission Bancaire de l UMOA) that was created
in 1990 to strengthen regional banking supervision. A regional commercial legal framework
(Organisation pour l Harmonisation du Droit des Affaires en Afrique OHADA) was put in place in
1996. And cross border restrictions have been lifted on banking and other financial services excluding
insurance. (Amadou, 2006)
Degree of Openness
The more open countries within an economic community are to trading with each other the more they
would benefit from a common currency. From the view of small companies looking to trade

The Many Characteristics, Factors, And Style Features That...
There are many characteristics, factors, and style features that are considered when building or adding
additions to a college. Mid nineteenth century many colleges were attacked by educators, politicians,
and writers, stating that the traditional college was irrelevant to contemporary needs (Turner Campus,
An American Planning Tradition, 129). It was established that the traditional colleges were out of date
and with a democratic reform there would be changes to the traditional college that would lead to a
new method of collegiate learning and open doors for higher education.
The traditional college was built for professional men; their purpose was not to educate millions, there
soon became a call for democratic reform. Overtime the public wanted training from these institutions,
and there was a call for a People s College (Turner, 129). During this time agricultural colleges were
having trouble attracting students and deciding what an agricultural college should be, they were
struggling with their identity and reverting to more traditional forms of education. Wabash Manual
Labor College in Indiana dropped the Manual Labor from it s name, as a result the college erected
large and impressive buildings in the fashionable styles of the day such as Italianate (Turner, 131). At
the same time scientific and technical schools were making better progress. At these early stages of
agricultural and scientific education, the appropriate architecture was decided, it was to

Eminent Domain Essay example
Eminent Domain is the government s right under the Fifth Amendment to acquire privately owned
property for public use to build a road, a school or a courthouse. Under eminent domain, the
government buys your property, paying you what s determined to be fair market value. In recent years,
there has been much debate over the appropriateness of eminent domain, and further its legality in
specific instances. The government is allowed to seize personal property for private use if they can
prove that doing it will serve what s called the public good . There have been many cases brought up
against the government in attempt to regulate the government s power in seizing private property.
There is a political push for reform to the eminent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
ft for homes in a specific neighborhood. In an area with older houses, many of these qualifications
may not be met, which would in turn classify certain houses as blighted. This does not imply that the
homeowners have failed to maintain there property properly, but infers that the area can be used for a
higher and better use.
Amongst topics of conversation regarding eminent domain, one will find regulatory usage of land,
seizing of land for public use, and the most controversial of late, the seizing of land from a private
owner and giving it to a more economically beneficial, often politically connected private owner. Kelo
v New London (US 2005), has prompted dozens of proposals to reform eminent domain practices
legislatively. Most of these proposals would restrict the use of eminent domain to transfer property
from one private individual to another. It is one thing to have a city claim property to further the
development of the city by building roads, schools, etc. It is another thing altogether for the
government to seize a property so as to gain money from higher taxation. For many years, however,
courts have read the public use restraint broadly, enabling governments to take property from one
owner, often small and powerless, and transfer it to another, often large and politically connected, all
in the name of economic development, urban renewal, or job creation.
With the media s focus on cases like Kelo v New London, the public is

What Caused The Seven Year War
The Seven Year War going from 1756 to 1763, was the first global war, which starts in North America
and spreads to Europe and all around the world. It begins when Britain declares war on France.
Imperial rivals, France and Britain struggled for supremacy. Early in the war, The French (helped by
Canadian militia and Aboriginal allies) defeated a number of British attacks and captured several
British forts. This war laid the bicultural foundations of modern Canada.
The Seven Year War was caused by ongoing tension between Great Britain and France. Also, Russian
and Austrian fears of Prussia s growing power in Europe. It ended up to further colonial supremacy for
Great Britain and much acknowledgment of Prussia as a major European power. Prussia

Explain How To Repair Your Own Faucet
Repairing your own faucet may seem intimidating, but once you learn the fundamentals, today s
faucets are not that hard to fix. In fact, usually the most difficult step is finding the correct replacement
parts. The necessary tools will vary a bit depending on the type of faucet you re repairing. An Allen
wrench will probably be needed to remove the handle. With a small set of small Allen wrenches, you
ll be ready for any faucet. Most repairs also require large slip joint pliers and screwdrivers.
For all faucet repairs, make sure to examine the faucet closely, before you begin, to determine the
source of the leak. Leaks originating from near the base of the spout will require a different repair than
a leak from the end.
Next, turn off the water supply to the faucet. The shutoff valves are probably located under the sink. If
the valves don t work or if you don t have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
You could record each step with a digital camera or video camera so you don t forget. Set the parts
aside in the order you removed them, to make putting it back together easier on yourself. When you ve
got all the parts out, check the interior of the valve for loose bits and mineral deposits. Use a cloth or a
pad to clean the surface. Soaking mineral deposits in vinegar will loosen them right up.
Slow water flow? That can be caused by plugged holes in the faucet body. A small screwdriver or
penknife can be used to clean them out. Before you replace worn parts and put the faucet back
together, hold a rag over the faucet and open the water shutoff valve slightly to flush out debris that
may have accumulated during the cleaning.
Once the faucet is reassembled, open the faucet and slowly open the shutoff valves to turn on the
water. Keep the faucet open until water is flowing freely and the air is out of the pipes. If the water
flow is slow through the faucet, the aerator may be plugged. Unscrew the aerator and clean it

African Art Research Paper
African life has a big impact on African art. Many art pieces are inspired by a story of a culture and
how they lived and what inspired them to create some of the works. These art pieces can come in
many forms such as painting, sculpture, and dancing and they each convey the cycle of life with the
importance of pregnancies, beauty and youth and afterlife. These three things are represented in so
many African art pieces.
Before I begin talking about these three ways that African art forms convey the cycle of life I should
talk a little about African Art and the life cycle. African art comes in many different forms and sizes
throughout Africa. These artworks usually symbolize something bigger, they tell us a story. Not
everyone can create a meaningful African art piece with a story behind it, those that can usually put in

Women get pregnant to they are able to reproduce and keep the cycle going. When it comes to
pregnancy in Africa, it might be treated differently as you move around the countries in Africa. A lot
of African artworks usually show a mother and her child, however, there are some that show just the
woman but we are still able to tell that the piece refers to pregnancy. When a sculpture of women is
made, they do not usually cover the boobs, if a female status books are more pulled down it means
that they have given birth before. Another way we can tell that a piece of art symbolizes pregnancy is
that some woman may have a scar on their stomach.
Youth and beauty, everyone wants to stay young and beautiful forever. The words youth and beauty
changes as you go around the world. Some cultures may find flawless skin beautiful and women under
a certain age to be younger. In some African culture scars symbolize beauty, the more you have the
more beautiful you are. There are so many pieces of art/sculpture that we have looked at in class and
outside of class that has a lot of scars carved on

The Human Rights Act By Viscount Sankey Essay
Decades before the implementation of the Human Rights Act , Viscount Sankey s prose in
Woolmington v DPP alluded to the presumption of innocence as the one golden thread which runs
through the web of English criminal law . He essentially establishes that the legal burden of proving
the defendant s guilt lies with the prosecution . This principle is arguably underlying in every
jurisdiction that respects ones right to a fair trial and is the foundation of the criminal law. There are
two important themes that must be discussed relating to the principles set out in Woolmington: Firstly,
in this case it was acknowledged that there can be instances where a reverse burden of proof is applied
and that in fact, the onus is on the defendant to prove his innocence rather than for the prosecution to
prove his guilt. Secondly, despite some departure from the Woolmington principle, it does not
inevitably necessitate that the law has been unfaithful to its underlying rationale. A common deduction
of the Woolmington principle is that Sankey, in his judgement, is ambiguous and left too much open to
interpretation. Furthermore, it has been argued by Adrian Zuckerman that the way in which something
is written can in fact lead to a justified imposition of a legal burden on the defendant and that the
accused will only have to prove their innocence by disclosing an onerous burden in situations where
legislation expressly commands them to. Article 6(2) of the ECHR states: Everyone

jazz s growing popularity sparked a grave controversy, with many viewing the appeal of jazz as either

Twenties about jazz s growing popularity be viewed as an annoyance or threat? c. Jazz s growing
popularity in the United States in a time known as the Roaring Twenties, was a dramatic turning point
in the American life. The growing of this musical industry meant jazz would be thrived in adversity

Not all whom listened to the music, will agree. The statement whereas jazz was a moral disaster to
young girls is inaccurate because teenagers will choose to do whatever they want if it is morally
wrong as a result of growing up and experiencing life. Regardless of what kind of music is playing,
young teens will go as they please. As for the origins issue, people need to stop believing everything
they hear. That issue was developed by a music critic of the New York Herald Tribune. How can
everyone be so sure what that critic is saying is entirely true? III. Conclusion d. Both arguments of this
catastrophic impact that jazz has had on all American people are very strong. Unfortunately, one side
being stronger than the other. Opponents that opposed this argument had some valid points. Their
strongest being a moral disaster on young women. When they say young girls and guys have been
spiraling out of their bodie s sexual or emotional control, they are correct. The love of the genre might
be pulling all types of different people together, that including of boys and girls. A girl and a boy find
that they both have the same interest in jazz music, so they might get to know each other and so on.
But, is that argument really an entire convincing explanation as to jazz being an annoyance or threat to
the American people? This time period being the Great Depression, people struggle

The world s history has been tainted by many instances of violence targeted at specific groups of
people due to either their ethnicity or beliefs. This paper will discuss the characteristics of the Rwanda
Genocide and the Jewish Holocaust. The Rwanda Genocide targeted the Tutsis because of their
ethnicity, while the Holocaust targeted the Jews because of their ethnicity and religion.
To really understand the Rwandan Genocide and the Final Solution, one must understand the
background of the two exterminated peoples. The Tutsis are an ethnic group that resides in the African

(Hitler s Book Mein Kampf ) The Nazis claimed that the Jewish people and religion was the source of
their downfall, and the genocide of the Jewish people was their only option.
Propaganda for the Rwanda Genocide began when the RPF (Rwandan Patriotic Front) invaded
Rwanda in 1990. Thus, the Hutu Power Movement began. A group of government officers and
officials began a magazine called Kangura , which spread anti Tutsi propaganda. The Hutu Ten
Commandments, which were published in the Kangura, was an example of racist guidelines for the
Hutus if they ever came into contact with a Tutsi. By 1990, the Rwandan army began arming its
civilians with swords and clubs under the pretense of self defense. These weapons became the main
tools used in the genocide. After the ceasefire between the Rwanda government and the RPF in 1992,
Hutu extremists in the Rwandan government and the army began to plot against the President in fear
of allowing the Tutsis to participate in governmental issues. The extremists began a new radios station
named Radio Télévision Libre des Mille Collines (RTLMC), which broadcasted racist propaganda
against Tutsis. Hutu extremist leaders also staged or reported false events to convince the Hutu
population that the Tutsis were accomplices of the RPF. (Propaganda and Practice) The Holocaust, on
the other hand, utilized many more ways of propaganda.

The Great Artists Of The Conceptual Art Movement
When one thinks of Art the most popular image is of great works, famous for their visually pleasing
and intellectually rousing qualities. These works, aside from being visually and intellectually
stimulating, have been used to challenge and encourage an audience to think about what it s
representing in flexible and open minded ways, this is usually done by shocking the audience out of
their complacency when viewing artworks. The great artists of the Conceptual Art movement
especially emphasised this by focusing more on the concept behind a piece than the art itself. Three
particular artists that are famous for challenging audiences with their work include Marcel Duchamp
(1887 1968), Jenny Holzer (1950 present) and Ai WeiWei (1957 present). Even though these three
artists are part of different times, countries, political and cultural movements, they all use their works
to confront and challenge every part of their audience including critics, the media and the general
public.
Marcel Duchamp is widely considered as one of the most influential artists of the 20th century, his
early works saw him in the Post Impressionist movement however his want for art to be in the service
of the mind saw his move away from that style of art. He was a French, sculptor, painter and writer
whose work is associated Dada and with being the precursor to conceptual art. Duchamp spent nearly
his whole art career challenging his audiences to think about what art really is. His critical

Hafu Essay
Hafu is the term used in Japan to describe children of half Japanese descent. This term is derived from
the English
Half which, when used in the Japanese language, indicates that a person is only half of the Japanese
culture. According to Hafu Japanese the term Hafu originated in the 1970s and is now the most
commonly used label for half Japanese children (Hafu Japanese, 2010). Being called half might seem
like an insult to some people, in Japan it is not really meant this way. In a YouTube video Japanese got
asked about what image they have about Hafu, most of them answered that they wanted to be a Hafu
as well. Almost all the answers to this question were positive; they are pretty, they have long legs, they
have the best of both worlds. The majority of the Japanese seem to have positive views on what it is
like to be a Hafu, but they might not have a proper understanding of what it is like to be Hafu. So
despite the positive image the Japanese have, life in Japan is not easy for people with mixed roots

Observation And Experimentation Of Observation
Observation is both an act and a remark made about an issue of interest. It is the process of close
monitoring of an occurrence for some given reasons, scientific or not. It is also the information
gathered from the monitoring process. In any scientific study, certain steps have to be followed. There
has to be observation/experimentation for any hypothesis to be formed and tested. It all starts from the
experimentation stage where close observations are made. Scientists rely mostly on observation in its
many forms in order to gain evidence during their studies. Nevertheless, the observational evidence is
majorly theory laden. The anticipation is based on past theories such that their aim is to agree with a
learnt theory or to reject it. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If In any cases the observations are laden in any way, then there is a threat to science. Studies have
shown that perception can be influenced by theories. The theories can therefore control the
observation from the initial stages up to the end. Once the perception is theory based rather than the
real observation at hand, the attention to the process, how the observer comprehend the process and
later interpret the results has an effect to the scientific process(science). The findings could be
interpreted in the right and best way possible but their credibility depend on how the observations
were collected. If they were biased, then their credibility is low and unreliable.
Observation mainly involve seeing . Certain theories need observational support to be scientifically
accepted. Observational support is further applied when comparing two theories that might closely
explain a similar topic. Scientists make conclusions based on what they see which is further
influenced by on their beliefs. Despite that two people observing the same thing, their conclusions
might vary. This makes it hard when deciding which theory is better, observation technique isn t the
better way. Its dependence on the observers perspective stand in the way of making the right choice.
Certain observation statements are laden. Most of them are theory laden for instance ice melts in the
sun . When

An Open Campus Lunch Program Essay
An open campus lunch program is when, during the lunch period, students are permitted to leave
campus and get lunch from local businesses or even home. At Urbana High School we currently have
four lunch shifts, during which students pack or buy lunches. I believe Frederick County Public
Schools should start an open campus lunch program for seniors because the school lunches are not
healthy enough or appealing and do not have enough lunch options. The benefits that could come from
this program go beyond the happiness of the seniors, they will reach the classrooms, staff members,
and community.
The lunches served in Frederick County Schools, and Urbana High School in particular lack
nutritional value and are unappetizing. When interviewing Casey Ballow (a student who buys lunch
everyday) about whether the school lunches are nutrional she said The majority of students walk out
[of the lunch line] without the most nutritional part of their lunch . FCPS has made snacks whole
grain, which usually makes them less tasty. Packing a lunch is a hassle because it is both time
consuming and expensive, not to mention you cannot bring any warm foods. When asked why Casey
chooses to buy a lunch, despite getting soggy chicken patties and burnt french fries she said Buying a
lunch saves me time in morning . There is not a wide enough selection of lunch foods for students.

Addiction And Model Of Addiction
There are many different theories about addiction and model. I clearly understand that I have to write
at least two hundred fifty words. They described the mental part of the disease of alcoholism as having
to do with the obsession. Is it about the distorted thinking that makes the need to drink the most
important aspect of our life?
The disease of addiction is a three, fold it affect you physically, mental, spiritually and I would have to
say emotional. This disease can manifest in anyone of these area at different time individual life.
The physical part of the disease involves the idea of compulsion. That is the phenomenon of
continuing to drink after taking that first drink is the inability to control or set and keep limits on our

First Political Cartoon Of Hillary Clinton
The next political cartoon that I observed has many similarities to the first one. It portrays Hillary
Clinton lying down in a bed, covered by a blanket that states, Seal of The President of The United
States. Above her is a description that states, 3 AM Phone Call, 2017. She is talking on the phone with
someone and is telling them, You know the drill; stand down, blame a video, and send the details to
my personal server. Similar to that of the first political cartoon, Hillary is still concealing her criminal
behavior from the public s eye, and making excuses in order to avoid public scrutiny. Beyond the main
details, there are a few small ones, such as the note from Bill Clinton that reads, Be back later tonight.
Bill. It provides for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Both Political Cartoons portray Hillary as being dishonest and trying to escape to blame for her
criminal like actions. Yet, even though both may be similar, there are certain aspects that divide the
two and give them an individuality apart from their original message. To elaborate further on this, the
second image uses ethos to the degree in which Hillary is making unethical decisions in office, in
order to keep herself in office. It s similar to the first political cartoon, running on a theme of criminal
like behavior, but differs from the first one because in the second cartoon, she has a certain amount of
power in order to carry through with it. The political cartoons are also similar in the way that the
conversations that take place over the phone, are held in some sort of a secret matter. However the
second one differs from the first when it comes down to the subject criteria that is being discussed.
The conversation in the first one is a series of questions, while the second one is on a more demanding
basis. The tones in both images take a similar stance, setting up a very mysterious scene in both
political cartoons. Hillary s face in the cartoons has a very distinctive appearance about it, giving the
viewer the perception that she is up to no good. The only noticeable differences are the style she is
wearing, as well as the style of cartooning, however the overall message is that she has the look that
she knows what she did was wrong and it applies a very mysterious tone to what is taking place within
the cartoons scene. Finally, the last given similarity touches along the lines of both pathos and logos.
Each cartoon applies different small items to the scene, in order to breach the reader s emotional
appeal through the use of a message. For example, in the first image, Hillary has a computer server
next to her with all

The Biomass Energy Conversion Technologies
4.3 Biomass Energy Conversion Technologies
Biomass materials can be converted to various useful forms of energy such as heat, electricity and
liquid fuels. The technologies used to convert biomass into energy ranged widely from the simple
combustion of biomass used for cooking and heating in developing countries to a variety of
technologies to generate modern energy carriers electricity, gas, and liquid bio fuels. Canada is using
various materials including waste and residuals to generate electricity, heat and, bio liquid fuels (bio
ethanol and biodiesel) (Defra UK et al. 2007). Biomass energy can be used at the household ( 10 kW),
community ( 100 kW), or industrial ( MW) scale. Key biomass energy conversion technologies
include thermal and thermochemical, and biological and biochemical.
Thermal and Thermochemical Technologies o Combustion convert forestry, agricultural and municipal
residues into heat and power under environmentally sound conditions o Gasification convert forestry,
agricultural and municipal residues into syngas o Pyrolysis convert forestry and agricultural residues
into bio oils and value added products o Thermal and Catalytic Processing convert a variety of new

The Relationship Between Katherine and Bianca in The...
The Relationship Between Katherine and Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew
William Shakespeare is considered the greatest playwright of all time. His gift for developing
characters is one major aspect that accounts for this lofty acknowledgement. Shakespeare created
various characters from drunks and fools to kings and generals. The characters are so human and so
real that the audience can see aspects of their own personalities represented on stage for better or
worse. Inadvertently, Shakespeare s ability to characterize any type of person demonstrates his holistic
education and knowledge of everything from military strategy and open sea sailing to music and
religion. As a result of Shakespeare s true to life ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Additionally, in a general sense, the common rivalry between siblings is also often manifested in
physical violence. In fact, one contemporary study collaborates the motivation sibling rivalry before
reporting that 82 percent of all families with more than one child reported that siblings had carried out
some form of physical violence amongst themselves (Newman 120). This is portrayed in a specific
sense in the play in Act II, scene I, wherein the cruel Katherine has bound Bianca s hands and is
questioning her about the suitor she favors in Baptista s home. There, when Bianca promises
Katherine that she will plead Katherine s case to Hortensio, Katherine surmises that Biance likes
Gremio. However, when Biance laughs at Katherine s idea, as in so many contemporary families, the
older sister hits her sibling.
Finally, at the end of the story, a switching of personalities occurs, as the reader becomes aware that
there is more to the girls relationship than initially appears. A close introspection actually reveals
neither the interpretation of Katherine, the shrew, as an irritable and hateful woman, nor Bianca, the
universally sweet daughter with a mild

Former linebacker and now alumni of the Missouri tigers Michael Sam also expressed his opinion on

Michael Sam s statement is true and sports played a very big role in bringing the help and attention to
the campus to try and put a stop to the racism that was going on. Not only should football players not
go through this but normal students as well. Students should not have to pay thousands of dollars for
an education to get treated any kind of way. The football team makes millions of dollars every year for
the university and the players don t get paid. Most of the African American football players have been
awarded a scholarship and work hard every day to maintain the scholarship they have earned, so
they shouldn t have to face racism and got through some of the things they went through. In my
opinion I would not send my child to the university of Missouri because of the conflicts and because
people just ignore the conflicts on campus. If I were a parent I would want my child to be in a safe
environment and I would want to know that my child is getting what I paid for. In my opinion it

Theme Of Social Class In The Outsiders
In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, there are many important themes, including recognizing the
importance of family, understanding how social class can mold who you are as a person, and facing
challenges. The main characters in the novel faced challenges due to their circumstances and social
class. Through these challenges, they learned the importance of family and friends and had to make
mature decisions. By the end of the novel, Ponyboy especially, had grown up staggeringly. Although
Ponyboy has dealt with problems in his family and because of his low social class he matured
throughout the novel. The main theme of The Outsiders centers around the importance of family.
Ponyboy and his brothers made sacrifices for their family. Darry, the eldest brother, had a chance to go
to college and be successful, but he chose to take care of his two brothers, Ponyboy and Sodapop.
Family doesn t have to be blood. Johnny s parents abused him, so he felt like the Greasers were more
of family to him than his parents. The Greasers supported, protected, and looked out for Johnny. The
Socs, who are the Greasers biggest enemies, turned to their gang for family too because the parents of
the Socs only gave their children money and didn t take care of them. Society and class was another
big theme in The Outsiders. Ponyboy was born into a low social class. His parents died, so he had to
rely on his brothers and the Greasers. They were poor and had to work to get basic needs like food and
water. Since the Greasers had a low social class they were looked down upon as trouble makers even
when they were being helpful. When Ponyboy and Johnny saved children out of a burning church, it
was written in the paper that juvenile delinquents had turned heros. The Socs on the other hand had
money. They fancy cars like Mustangs and Corvairs and wore nice clothes. They were considered
heroes even though they didn t do anything heroic. They caused trouble in the neighborhood by
throwing beer blasts and jumping Greasers. Society overlooked character due to social class. Social
classes limit people too. Darry, a Greaser and Paul, a Soc had the same qualities to be successful and
go to college. Darry however, was held back because

The Different Types of Anemometers
Anemometers are meteorological devices sed to measure wind speeds and can commonly be found in
weather stations. They get their name from the Greek word for wind; anemos. Not only instruments
used in meteorology but also in aerodynamics instruments that take airspeed measurements are
described as anemometers. The first known description of an anemometer is said to be around 1450.
Measurements of wind can be taken in two different forms, the speed of the wind and the pressure.
However, there is a connection between these two. Anemometers can be divided into two different
classes, measuring the speed of the wind or the pressure. As there is a connection between wind speed
and pressure, an anemometer measuring the speed for example would still be able to provide
information on the pressure of the wind. There are several different designs of anemometers that exist
in the industry today, each using different methods to measure the speed or pressure of the wind.
Types of Anemometers
Cup Anemometers
Also known as rotational anemometers, cup anemometers are the simplest types of anemometers and
have been around for a very long time. The make up of these meters consists of a vertical central pole
and four horizontal arms at the top that have a cup attached to each of them. As wind presses against
these cups, the arms at the top rotate around the central pole. The speed of the rotation would
determine the speed of the wind. The speed of the wind is usually observed through digital

Pros And Cons Of Human Genetic Engineering
Why are humans stuck how they are? Why do some have lethal flaws? Why do theses flaws exist?
The correct answer is they don t have to: Human genetic engineering can solve some of theses lethal
issues now and can solve more in the future. It can help the next generation experience what everyone
strives to achieve. Human genetic engineering research should continue because it can save people s
lives, improve human s lives and improve the lives of the next generation of children. Human genetic
engineering can save people s lives now and could save more in the future. According to a New
Scientist article (Le Page, 2015), Layla was three months when she was diagnosed with acute
lymphoblastic leukaemia, a kind of cancer in the bone marrow. She underwent other treatments like
chemotherapy, but those failed so she underwent gene therapy by using the TALEN protein to edit her
genes to produce a cancer fighting T cell called UCRAT19; She survived and thrived (Le Page 2015).
Saving someone s life through human genetic engineering doesn t even have to be as complicated as
altering genes. According to TIME Health (Park, 2014), Mya Burkhart was six months old when her
parents started to look for a cure to her rare mutation in the gene for citrate. This mutation prevented
certain parts of her from getting enough energy, causing breathing and development problems, and
after having no luck with any other diagnosis, a genetic scan figured out what the issue was and gave
her citrate supplements (Alice Park, 2014). Both Layla s and Mya s lives were saved because of
human genetic engineering. Layla was cured of cancer because of human genetic engineering, which
is one toughest diseases for humans to cure right now, while Layla s cancer was cured, but Mya s
condition was only treated so maybe if human genetic engineering could continue a cure could be
developed to improve her life. Human genetic engineering is not only useful for people in terminal
situations it s also useful for the average person. Evan Dashevsky describes this in an article he wrote
about his experience with human genetic engineering (Dashevsky, 2017). He had a severe back
problem that prevented him from running and had to walk with a cane, while only in his

Essay on The Choosing Of A Landfill Site
The Choosing of a Landfill Site
There is currently much debate on the desirability of landfilling particular wastes, the practicability of
alternatives such as waste minimisation or pre treatment, the extent of waste pre treatment required,
and of the most appropriate landfilling strategies for the final residues. This debate is likely to
stimulate significant developments in landfilling methods during the next decade. Current and
proposed landfill techniques are described in this information sheet.
Types of landfill
Landfill techniques are dependent upon both the type of waste and the landfill management strategy. A
commonly used classification of landfills, according to waste type only, is described below, together
with a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This strategy is the most commonly used for nuclear wastes and hazardous wastes. It is also used in
some countries for MSW and other non hazardous but polluting wastes.
B) Containment and collection of leachate
Inflow of water is controlled but not prevented entirely, and leakage is minimised or prevented, by a
low permeability basal liner and by removal of leachate. This is the most common strategy currently
for MSW landfills in developed countries. The duration of a pollution risk is dependent on the rate of
water flow through the wastes. Because it requires active leachate management there is currently
much interest in accelerated leaching to shorten this timescale from what could be centuries to just a
few decades.
C) Controlled contaminant release
The top cover and basal liner are designed and constructed to allow generation and leakage of leachate
at a calculated, controlled rate. An environmental assessment is always necessary to that the impact of
the emitted leachate is acceptable. No active leachate control measures are used. Such sites are only
suitable in certain locations and for certain wastes. A typical example would be a landfill in a coastal
location, receiving an inorganic waste such as bottom ash from MSW incineration.
D) Unrestricted contaminant release
No control is exerted over either the inflow or the outflow of water.

Health Care Issues
One of the great gifts we receive as Americans is freedom; something we must thank all of the men
and women who serve in the various armed forces for protecting. The unfortunate reality is that these
men and women often don t receive proper care when returning home from overseas especially when
it comes to health care. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) has spent a lot of time in local and
national headlines after many veterans suffered serious illness and even death as a result of unresolved
issues in the system. Two of the VA s spotlight issues include the long wait for service and the image
of non caring employees. The combination of these issues was blamed for multiple veteran s deaths in
2012 and is a large talking point for the current ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the VA scandal that took place a few years ago centered around patient deaths after
manipulated waiting lists and lack of timely care resulted in the firing of only three low level
employees (Miller, 2015). There was not one person in an upper management position who confessed
in knowing about or partaking in the scandal. This is where the importance of a board of directors
comes in because with all of the protecting laws and regulations it is nearly impossible to fire a
government employee but if a board of directs was put into place with the power of firing an
employee on proper grounds then there would be a domino effect of positive outcomes (Miller, 2015).
In response to the lack of repercussion for those involved in the scandal Representative Jeff Miller
stated, Perhaps what s really making it hard to attract top talent to VA is its notorious aversion to
accountability (Miller, 2015). If corrupt behavior was removed from the VA health care system then
more talents physicians, nurses, and other employees would be interested to work for the department
improving the overall care of our country s protectors. With the improvement in staffing and care the
negative image surrounding the department s treatment of patients would be lightened and eventually

Eighteen months of doing the unthinkable : working full time, studying full time, and raising a six

Fueled by an interest in research, I received a scholarship for Ph.D. studies after medical school. Life
events interrupted this journey, making it necessary to move from cities, and even countries. I made an

Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Essay
Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Nowadays, stereotypes seem to be the way we justify
and categorize society. It can also be said that stereotypes are one way in which we define the world in
order to see it. Because, if the world isn t defined, then how can we as people, grasp the concept of it?
How do we justify our action, and those of others? People often, prejudge others or objects by
grouping them into categories or styles they are familiar with, and then treat them by their experiences
or just follow what other people usually do, without questioning their actions and motives. That causes
miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are
usually formed based on an individual s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people.
The appearance of a person in general is one of the most important causes of stereotypes. People
usually tend to stereotype a person from what they see and think. In Brent Staples Just Walk On By: A
Black Man Ponders His Power to Alter Public Space, he experienced a certain stereotype from a white
woman because of his appearance. He explained, To her, the youngish black man a broad six feet two
inches with a bread and billowing hair, both hands shoved into the pockets of a bulky military jacket
seemed menacing close (Staples 394). That white woman labeled Staples as a dangerous person who
might hurt her, so she ran away as soon as she could. In other words, people

Administration of Corrective Labor Camps and Labor Settlements. This agency was then referred to
as the acronym for this title Gulag and eventually the whole camp system was known as the Gulag
(Applebaum viii). The Gulags were the Soviet s penal system and Stalin s administration used the

I have experienced a lot in my soccer career, I know this is what I want to do with my life because I get to entertain a lot of people and I have a passion for the game. One day I was watching a Real Madrid game vs Athletico Madrid in the Champions League final. A guy named Cristiano Ronaldo was playing, I had a passion for soccer before that game but I did research on Cristiano Ronaldo, I learned very quickly that I wanted to be just like him. The game of soccer has a lot of emotion to it and I am a very emotional person, that s why my personality fits one of the greatest soccer players ever said I learned all about life with a ball at my feet (Ronaldinho). This career is one of the only ways I will try so hard in life, it is my #1 priority to play soccer, that is what draws me to this career. My other career is a video editor, because without movies and other entertaining things would not be around. Soccer inspired me to make soccer video edits. I have been doing that for 2 years, I fit for this job because I am very good with editing software and I am motivated by it. To give an opinion on whether or not the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) is an optimal currency area, first an optimal currency area must be defined. An optimal currency area was defined by Pilbeam (2013) as A region for which it is optimal to have a common currency and a common monetary policy . For the ECOWAS to qualify as an optimal currency area it must fulfil certain criteria, it is unlikely to fulfil all of the criteria entirely, but to be deemed an optimal currency area it must score reasonably. If a country has a high level of financial integration with the countries surrounding it then it would be able to finance its deficits without the need to alter the exchange rate and its monetary policy. Therefore an economic community with a high level of financial integration would be well suited to a monetary union. In the ECOWAS there are signs of progress towards a higher level of financial integration. This can be seen through the establishment of the single banking commission (Commission Bancaire de l UMOA) that was created in 1990 to strengthen regional banking supervision. A regional commercial legal framework (Organisation pour l Harmonisation du Droit des Affaires en Afrique OHADA) was put in place in 1996. And cross border restrictions have been lifted on banking and other financial services excluding insurance. • 4. The Many Characteristics, Factors, And Style Features That... There are many characteristics, factors, and style features that are considered when building or adding additions to a college. Mid nineteenth century many colleges were attacked by educators, politicians, and writers, stating that the traditional college was irrelevant to contemporary needs (Turner Campus, An American Planning Tradition, 129). It was established that the traditional colleges were out of date and with a democratic reform there would be changes to the traditional college that would lead to a new method of collegiate learning and open doors for higher education. The traditional college was built for professional men; their purpose was not to educate millions, there soon became a call for democratic reform. Overtime the public wanted training from these institutions, and there was a call for a People s College (Turner, 129). During this time agricultural colleges were having trouble attracting students and deciding what an agricultural college should be, they were struggling with their identity and reverting to more traditional forms of education. Wabash Manual Labor College in Indiana dropped the Manual Labor from it s name, as a result the college erected large and impressive buildings in the fashionable styles of the day such as Italianate (Turner, 131). At the same time scientific and technical schools were making better progress. At these early stages of agricultural and scientific education, the appropriate architecture was decided, it was to ... Under eminent domain, the government buys your property, paying you what s determined to be fair market value. In recent years, there has been much debate over the appropriateness of eminent domain, and further its legality in specific instances. The government is allowed to seize personal property for private use if they can prove that doing it will serve what s called the public good . In an area with older houses, many of these qualifications may not be met, which would in turn classify certain houses as blighted. This does not imply that the homeowners have failed to maintain there property properly, but infers that the area can be used for a higher and better use. Amongst topics of conversation regarding eminent domain, one will find regulatory usage of land, seizing of land for public use, and the most controversial of late, the seizing of land from a private owner and giving it to a more economically beneficial, often politically connected private owner. Kelo v New London (US 2005), has prompted dozens of proposals to reform eminent domain practices legislatively. Most of these proposals would restrict the use of eminent domain to transfer property from one private individual to another. It is one thing to have a city claim property to further the development of the city by building roads, schools, etc. It is another thing altogether for the government to seize a property so as to gain money from higher taxation. For many years, however, courts have read the public use restraint broadly, enabling governments to take property from one owner, often small and powerless, and transfer it to another, often large and politically connected, all in the name of economic development, urban renewal, or job creation. In fact, usually the most difficult step is finding the correct replacement parts. The necessary tools will vary a bit depending on the type of faucet you re repairing. An Allen wrench will probably be needed to remove the handle. With a small set of small Allen wrenches, you ll be ready for any faucet. Most repairs also require large slip joint pliers and screwdrivers. For all faucet repairs, make sure to examine the faucet closely, before you begin, to determine the source of the leak. Many art pieces are inspired by a story of a culture and how they lived and what inspired them to create some of the works. • 9. The Human Rights Act By Viscount Sankey Essay Decades before the implementation of the Human Rights Act , Viscount Sankey s prose in Woolmington v DPP alluded to the presumption of innocence as the one golden thread which runs through the web of English criminal law . He essentially establishes that the legal burden of proving the defendant s guilt lies with the prosecution . This principle is arguably underlying in every jurisdiction that respects ones right to a fair trial and is the foundation of the criminal law. There are two important themes that must be discussed relating to the principles set out in Woolmington: Firstly, in this case it was acknowledged that there can be instances where a reverse burden of proof is applied and that in fact, the onus is on the defendant to prove his innocence rather than for the prosecution to prove his guilt. Secondly, despite some departure from the Woolmington principle, it does not inevitably necessitate that the law has been unfaithful to its underlying rationale. A common deduction of the Woolmington principle is that Sankey, in his judgement, is ambiguous and left too much open to interpretation. Furthermore, it has been argued by Adrian Zuckerman that the way in which something is written can in fact lead to a justified imposition of a legal burden on the defendant and that the accused will only have to prove their innocence by disclosing an onerous burden in situations where legislation expressly commands them to. A group of government officers and officials began a magazine called Kangura , which spread anti Tutsi propaganda. The Hutu Ten Commandments, which were published in the Kangura, was an example of racist guidelines for the Hutus if they ever came into contact with a Tutsi. By 1990, the Rwandan army began arming its civilians with swords and clubs under the pretense of self defense. These weapons became the main tools used in the genocide. After the ceasefire between the Rwanda government and the RPF in 1992, Hutu extremists in the Rwandan government and the army began to plot against the President in fear of allowing the Tutsis to participate in governmental issues. This term is derived from the English Half which, when used in the Japanese language, indicates that a person is only half of the Japanese culture. According to Hafu Japanese the term Hafu originated in the 1970s and is now the most commonly used label for half Japanese children (Hafu Japanese, 2010). It portrays Hillary Clinton lying down in a bed, covered by a blanket that states, Seal of The President of The United States. Above her is a description that states, 3 AM Phone Call, 2017. She is talking on the phone with someone and is telling them, You know the drill; stand down, blame a video, and send the details to my personal server. Similar to that of the first political cartoon, Hillary is still concealing her criminal behavior from the public s eye, and making excuses in order to avoid public scrutiny. Both Political Cartoons portray Hillary as being dishonest and trying to escape to blame for her criminal like actions. Yet, even though both may be similar, there are certain aspects that divide the two and give them an individuality apart from their original message. To elaborate further on this, the second image uses ethos to the degree in which Hillary is making unethical decisions in office, in order to keep herself in office. It s similar to the first political cartoon, running on a theme of criminal like behavior, but differs from the first one because in the second cartoon, she has a certain amount of power in order to carry through with it. The political cartoons are also similar in the way that the conversations that take place over the phone, are held in some sort of a secret matter. However the second one differs from the first when it comes down to the subject criteria that is being discussed. The conversation in the first one is a series of questions, while the second one is on a more demanding basis. The tones in both images take a similar stance, setting up a very mysterious scene in both political cartoons. Hillary s face in the cartoons has a very distinctive appearance about it, giving the viewer the perception that she is up to no good. The only noticeable differences are the style she is wearing, as well as the style of cartooning, however the overall message is that she has the look that she knows what she did was wrong and it applies a very mysterious tone to what is taking place within the cartoons scene. Finally, the last given similarity touches along the lines of both pathos and logos. Each cartoon applies different small items to the scene, in order to breach the reader s emotional appeal through the use of a message. The Relationship Between Katherine and Bianca in The Taming of the Shrew William Shakespeare is considered the greatest playwright of all time. His gift for developing characters is one major aspect that accounts for this lofty acknowledgement. Shakespeare created various characters from drunks and fools to kings and generals. The characters are so human and so real that the audience can see aspects of their own personalities represented on stage for better or worse. There, when Bianca promises Katherine that she will plead Katherine s case to Hortensio, Katherine surmises that Biance likes Gremio. • 33. Theme Of Social Class In The Outsiders In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, there are many important themes, including recognizing the importance of family, understanding how social class can mold who you are as a person, and facing challenges. The main characters in the novel faced challenges due to their circumstances and social class. Through these challenges, they learned the importance of family and friends and had to make mature decisions. By the end of the novel, Ponyboy especially, had grown up staggeringly. Although Ponyboy has dealt with problems in his family and because of his low social class he matured throughout the novel. The main theme of The Outsiders centers around the importance of family. Ponyboy and his brothers made sacrifices for their family. Darry, the eldest brother, had a chance to go to college and be successful, but he chose to take care of his two brothers, Ponyboy and Sodapop. Family doesn t have to be blood. Johnny s parents abused him, so he felt like the Greasers were more of family to him than his parents. The Greasers supported, protected, and looked out for Johnny. The Socs, who are the Greasers biggest enemies, turned to their gang for family too because the parents of the Socs only gave their children money and didn t take care of them. Society and class was another big theme in The Outsiders. Ponyboy was born into a low social class. His parents died, so he had to rely on his brothers and the Greasers. They were poor and had to work to get basic needs like food and water. Since the Greasers had a low social class they were looked down upon as trouble makers even when they were being helpful. When Ponyboy and Johnny saved children out of a burning church, it was written in the paper that juvenile delinquents had turned heros. The Socs on the other hand had money. They fancy cars like Mustangs and Corvairs and wore nice clothes. They were considered heroes even though they didn t do anything heroic. They caused trouble in the neighborhood by throwing beer blasts and jumping Greasers. Society overlooked character due to social class. Social classes limit people too. • 35. The Different Types of Anemometers Anemometers are meteorological devices sed to measure wind speeds and can commonly be found in weather stations. They get their name from the Greek word for wind; anemos. Not only instruments used in meteorology but also in aerodynamics instruments that take airspeed measurements are described as anemometers. The first known description of an anemometer is said to be around 1450. Measurements of wind can be taken in two different forms, the speed of the wind and the pressure. However, there is a connection between these two. Anemometers can be divided into two different classes, measuring the speed of the wind or the pressure. As there is a connection between wind speed and pressure, an anemometer measuring the speed for example would still be able to provide information on the pressure of the wind. There are several different designs of anemometers that exist in the industry today, each using different methods to measure the speed or pressure of the wind. Types of Anemometers Cup Anemometers Also known as rotational anemometers, cup anemometers are the simplest types of anemometers and have been around for a very long time. The make up of these meters consists of a vertical central pole and four horizontal arms at the top that have a cup attached to each of them. As wind presses against these cups, the arms at the top rotate around the central pole. The speed of the rotation would determine the speed of the wind. • 37. Pros And Cons Of Human Genetic Engineering Why are humans stuck how they are? Why do some have lethal flaws? Why do theses flaws exist? The correct answer is they don t have to: Human genetic engineering can solve some of theses lethal issues now and can solve more in the future. It can help the next generation experience what everyone strives to achieve. Human genetic engineering research should continue because it can save people s lives, improve human s lives and improve the lives of the next generation of children. Human genetic engineering can save people s lives now and could save more in the future. According to a New Scientist article (Le Page, 2015), Layla was three months when she was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a kind of cancer in the bone marrow. She underwent other treatments like chemotherapy, but those failed so she underwent gene therapy by using the TALEN protein to edit her genes to produce a cancer fighting T cell called UCRAT19; She survived and thrived (Le Page 2015). Saving someone s life through human genetic engineering doesn t even have to be as complicated as altering genes. According to TIME Health (Park, 2014), Mya Burkhart was six months old when her parents started to look for a cure to her rare mutation in the gene for citrate. This mutation prevented certain parts of her from getting enough energy, causing breathing and development problems, and after having no luck with any other diagnosis, a genetic scan figured out what the issue was and gave her citrate supplements (Alice Park, 2014). Both Layla s and Mya s lives were saved because of human genetic engineering. Layla was cured of cancer because of human genetic engineering, which is one toughest diseases for humans to cure right now, while Layla s cancer was cured, but Mya s condition was only treated so maybe if human genetic engineering could continue a cure could be developed to improve her life. Human genetic engineering is not only useful for people in terminal situations it s also useful for the average person. This strategy is the most commonly used for nuclear wastes and hazardous wastes. It is also used in some countries for MSW and other non hazardous but polluting wastes. B) Containment and collection of leachate Inflow of water is controlled but not prevented entirely, and leakage is minimised or prevented, by a low permeability basal liner and by removal of leachate. This is the most common strategy currently for MSW landfills in developed countries. The duration of a pollution risk is dependent on the rate of water flow through the wastes. Because it requires active leachate management there is currently much interest in accelerated leaching to shorten this timescale from what could be centuries to just a few decades. C) Controlled contaminant release The top cover and basal liner are designed and constructed to allow generation and leakage of leachate at a calculated, controlled rate. An environmental assessment is always necessary to that the impact of the emitted leachate is acceptable. No active leachate control measures are used. Such sites are only suitable in certain locations and for certain wastes. A typical example would be a landfill in a coastal location, receiving an inorganic waste such as bottom ash from MSW incineration. • 42. Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Essay Do Not Assume Who I Am By My Appearance Nowadays, stereotypes seem to be the way we justify and categorize society. It can also be said that stereotypes are one way in which we define the world in order to see it. Because, if the world isn t defined, then how can we as people, grasp the concept of it? How do we justify our action, and those of others? People often, prejudge others or objects by grouping them into categories or styles they are familiar with, and then treat them by their experiences or just follow what other people usually do, without questioning their actions and motives. That causes miscommunication, argument or losing opportunities to broaden the life experience. Stereotypes are usually formed based on an individual s appearance, race, and gender that would put labels on people. The appearance of a person in general is one of the most important causes of stereotypes. People usually tend to stereotype a person from what they see and think.
