Flat Tax Policy
People have said for years that the only two things inevitable in this world are death and taxes.
Indeed, any legitimate national government has the power to tax its people in some fashion. It is a
complicated issue that experts continue to debate to this day. Higher taxes do not necessarily mean
a prosperous economy. In fact, more times than not, high taxes hurt the economy. The United States
should implement a flat taxpolicy that is based on biblical principles, because it is fair for all
across the board, because it will increase revenue by discouraging tax evasion, and because the flat
tax form is much simpler to understand. Taxation has been an important facet of civilization
throughout history. Many rulers have taken advantage of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the Church, each Christian is commanded by God to give ten percent of his income back to
the church. In the Old Testament, Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 12:6, And thither ye shall bring
your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes. Furthermore, the tithe was based on
income. King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 3:9, Honour the Lord with thy substance and with the
firstfruits of all thine increase. What made the tithe fair for Christians was the concept of
proportionality, or the quality of corresponding in size to something else. In the same way, the
flat tax is based on biblical principles because it is based on proportionality and is revenue
neutral. As Dr. Ben Carson said, You make $10 billion, you pay a billion, you make ten dollars,
you pay one (dollar). (Julia Limitone) The Bible has one interpretation but many applications and
mankind can certainly apply the principles of tithing to tax

Machiavelli Virtue Analysis

December 14th 2016
Considering Virtue Niccolo Machiavelli s thought on virtue has been analyzed in many ways, but
no one has ever got the right answer to what Machiavelli himself meant. According to Machiavelli
virtue is defined as generosity and compassion that are praised by others. Few have analyzed on the
writings of Machiavelli s concept; this assignment is hard to understand because its not clear what
Machiavelli means. Virtue has many meanings, but one of the main points in philosophy is that
virtue is a part of good life. Politically sometimes virtue can be used as skill and strength either as
force or potential. Virtue is mostly linked with understanding and controlling the world. In this
essay I will be discussing what Machiavelli thinks that a prince should do and what they shouldn t
do in order to become a successful ruler. Machiavelli chose harsh over generous and hard over soft.
Although not every ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is something that even Plato would agree with, because as they said anything from life
comes from the truth in it. Machiavelli s main advice here for the princes are that they should be
hard and real rather than being soft with the people, because the ones that stay true will last
longer as a ruler rather than those who are generous. People hate the truth most of the times,
because everyone knows that the truth is also hard to take. Some like being lied as long as the
news is good, because they are weak and they do not know how to overcome their own

Military Draft
While many people believe that an all volunteer service could be more efficient, the United States
government should institute a combination of a draft and volunteer service as its military service
profile. An all volunteer service is one which derives its manpower from volunteers rather than
conscription or mandatory service. Conscription(or drafting) is the compulsory enlistment of people
in some sort of national service, such as militaryservice. Many arguments are presented in support
of both the draft and the all volunteer force. These arguments are analyzed in the following
categories: military effectiveness; cost and other economic considerations; and morality. Even
though the United Stateschanged to an all volunteer service in 1973, the country reserves the right
to renew conscription in the event of an emergency.
The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is clear that the country would not have nothing to lose having a combination of those two,
instead, would benefit the United States in every way possible. Since depending on an all
volunteer force has meant that the military cannot always recruit and retain enough personnel for
its needs, a draft would provide the people that the military needs, but also would decrease their
overall cost every year since they would not have to offer attractive pay and benefits through
military recruitment to attract volunteers. In the other hand, volunteer would also be a big hit to
the military because since retention rates have improved and initial enlistment periods have
become longer in the AVF, experience levels have increased. Women in the military could be the
best fit. Since women, under a draft, are likely to fall because of the military Selective Service
System, women can enlist voluntarily. Those advantages would help the best for a better of the

Louis Xiv s Absolutism
When it come to which leader was the most absolute I would say that Louis XiV of France.
While his earlier policies were a bit heavy handed and were unpopular enough to cause rebellion
he quickly learned from his mistakes. He then took a much subtler approach to absolute rule and
by the end of his rule France had expanded greatly and the crown had a stranglehold on both
domestic and foreign policies. The first of his many great decisions was that he appointed no Chief
minister that way no noble could simply challenge a single man, they had to challenge the entire
crown. He had also made many of the people who would form his councils those who had just
begin to rise in the social structure. This tactical move ensured their loyalty and competence

Introduction The 19th century developments of firstly the telegraph, and later the telephone,
opened a gateway to a new, closer, more interdependent world. For a country as large as the United
States, with a population now scattered from east to west, the implications were tremendous. The
infamous tyranny of time and distance had been conquered. Widespread acceptance and
appreciation, however, were not immediate. Both inventions met with initial scepticism, ridicule,
and even elements of fear. The wisdom of twenty first century hindsight makes such reticence seem
incredible and somewhat amusing, but the very magnitude of instantaneous communication was the
source of anxiety in the first recipients as much as of excitement. In an era when... Show more

The son of a Reverend, Samuel was born in 1791 in Charlestown, Massachusetts. His studies at
Yale refined his primary passion for art, but Morse was also fascinated by the sciences,
particularly the new theories of electricity. The studies he enjoyed at this time fostered his
continued interest and attention to developments in the field, and were to form the basis of his
discoveries decades later. For despite the concentrated efforts of others from the 1820s to create
an electromagnetic telegraph, Morse did not appear to have been aware of these developments and
he worked, in the main, independently. Throughout Morse s financially insecure career as an artist,
his studies, both in America and Europe led him into contact with other men of scientific interests.
In 1827 Morse s role as founder and president of the National Academy of the Arts and Design in
New York provided opportunity to attend lectures on electricity and electromagnetism by James
Freeman Dana. A friendship developed based on their mutual interest which furthered Morse s
knowledge in the area. Years later, Morse was to have a critical chance encounter with a fellow

According to the social marketing conceptual framework, there are three categories of products:
actual products, core products, and augmented products. Actual products, in this instance, are the
colorectal screenings marketed to adenomatous positive patients and their family members.
Benefits of colonoscopy participation (core products) include decreased risk of developing
cancer, life, and the added benefit (augmented product) of saving loved ones from cancer
diagnoses. With respect to colonoscopies, the price is a perceived loss of dignity, embarrassment,
and pride (Mikocla Walus, 2012). Post recovery, adenomatous positive patients viewed an

the recovery room; and The Computer Based Education Program and the one paged, personalized,

The Labor Force In Mr. Wonka s Charlie And The Chocolate...
The publication of the 1964 storyline of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory associates to the
politics and history of the United Kingdom. During this time, the labor force in the story directly
relates to the labor anxieties expressed in the UK. According to Robert Miles and Annie
Phizacklea, the British Nationality Act of 1948 released the labor market and British citizenship to
the New Commonwealth, men and women from the Caribbean and the Indian sub continent who
came to sell their labor power for a wage in British factories (Miles Phizacklea 1984). Once these
men and women arrived, they were instantaneously assumed as low grade, separated from the white
and there human appearance was questioned. Therefore, the men and women were later called the
domestic class in the British Empire, within the primary fragments of the slave trade. This relates
to the story that Grandpa Joe tells in the 1964 book. He states then one day, all of a sudden, Mr.
Wonka had to ask every single one of them to leave, to go home, never to come back (Dahl 19).
Grandpa Joe then says, the factory opened again however, nobody...ever...comes...out and
nobody...ever... goes... (Dahl 17). He explains the rising and falling of the factory and how Wonka
fires his entire staff, rebuilds his chocolate factory with hidden workers, the Oompa Loompas.
Wonka explains his compassionate reasoning for containing a population of 3000 black men,
women and children, when telling the tale of the Oompa Loompas. By using a

How Is Teddy Alike
Will Langas
There s Something About Teddy On June 5th, 1944, 156,000 soldiers took part in the largest
amphibious invasion in history. One of these soldiers, known as Jerry Salinger to his friends,
stormed the beach alongside his fellow Americans, carrying in his backpack the first six chapters
to the story that would later be known as The Catcher in the Rye. Selling around 250,000 copies
each year, Jerome David Salinger s novel pushed him into the spotlight, and two years later he
published the short story Teddy, under the name J.D. Salinger, in his collection of brief tales, Nine
Stories. According to Americans, the main characterTeddy would be seen as a troubled figure,
however, Hindus would consider him to be spiritually mature. Teddy would be regarded as
spiritually enlightened because he is not affected by his emotions, he is aware of the ultimate

However, in the Hindu world view, Teddy is viewed more spiritually mature because of this trait.
In fact, Teddy is actually considered different, in a beneficial way to not only himself, but others
alike. Teddy s ability to block out his emotions is shown early into his discussion with Bob
Nicholson, when after being asked about his emotions, he responds saying, I don t remember
when I ever used them...I don t see what they re good for (Salinger 77). Teddy s view of emotions
displays his spiritual progress in the terms of the purusharthas. While most people are concerned
with the purusharthas of wealth and pleasure, Artha and Kama, Teddy has developed past these
emotionally concerned goals, and in the process has become concerned with what all humans
should strive to achieve, the purushartha of Moksha, or liberation.

Sleepy Hollow Duality
In the town of Sleepy Hollow, we find Ichabod Crane, the protagonist, who begins to notice the
daughter of the richest man in town, Katrina. He decides to pursue a relationship with Katrina.
However, this decision starts trouble with Katrina s other suitor, Abraham Brom Van Brunt. There
is a party at Katrina s house later, she breaks up with Ichabod. Heartbroken Ichabod makes his way
home when he is interrupted by the Headless Horseman. The next day, Ichabod has disappeared and
no one knows what happened to him. Washington Irvings The Legend of Sleepy Hollowis a

However, the story does play in favor of its audience. Due to the fact, The Adventures of Ichabod
and Mr. Toad is meant for children the storyline is heavily playful and light hearted. For
example, in a scene in the film, the audience can see Ichabod dancing on top of a pumpkin while
his rival, Brom, is being squeezed and chased by an unwanted dance partner. In Disney s telling
of the story, every character s personality traits are heavily played into. For instance, Katrina is
supposed to be a flirt and we see the townsmen follow and obey her every whim. Another
example would be Ichabod s gluttonous characteristic. This can be seen where Ichabod is
punishing a child but stops because there is a lot of food in the boy s basket. Although, Disney
does not stray from the original telling he does add a few musical numbers to the story which is
a common theme in Disney movies. Another difference that Disney s telling has from the original
work is that he heavily suggests two things. First, the possibility that Katrina is using Ichabod to
make Brom jealous. Lastly, the disappearance of Ichabod is focused on the Headless Horseman
as the accused. Disney s translation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is an example of the story

Soylent Persuasive Essay
Can you imagine living in a world with no family time around the dining table, no more passing
the salt to add more flavor to the mashed potatoes, nor savoring in the different textures of baked
lasagna, crispy fried shrimp, and creamy broccoli cheddar soup? Neither can I. Now imagine
drinking a glass of flavorless, watered down oatmeal gunk for the rest of your life? Me niether.
But for those who can, Soylent seems to be the perfect choice. Soylent is a nutritional substitute for
solid food. In other words, it is a tasteless, unpalatable smoothie that is compatible for people
who have no time to cook a simple meal. The main reason why products like Soylent are created
is because many people devalue the time spent with their family and don t truly appreciate the
simple pleasures of life like savoring home cooked meals, going out to restaurants with your
friends, or even eatingpopcorn while watching a movie. How have we possibly made a... Show

Psalm 23 Analysis
Psalm 23 The Holy Bible, NIV, (1996) explains that David authored Psalm 23 and that his
writing reveals the need for us to turn to God as our shepherd for all of our needs. He begins the
Psalm with The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need. He lets me rest in green meadows;
he leads me beside peaceful streams. He renews my strength. He guides me along right paths,
bringing honor to his name (Psalm 23: 1 3). Immediately, two important corresponding elements
appear, which include green meadows and peaceful streams . Davidis explaining the difference
between a sinful life and one that allows the lord to guide it. Life has an abundance of difficulty,
however if we obey and allow Godto direct it we will find that contentment much easier (Bullock,

The Psalm is written to thank the Lord for all that he does Even when I walk through the dark
valley of death, I will not be afraid, for you are close beside me. Your rod and your staff protect and

the Lord has done for him. You prepare a feast for me in the presence of my enemies. You welcome
me as a guest, anointing my head with oil. My cup overflows with blessings (Psalm 23: 5). David
does not appear to be calling for help or turning to God in need, but only to express his immense
gratitude for the blessings that have been bestowed on him (Bullock, 2004). Surely your goodness
and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the Lord
forever (Psalm 23: 6). David expresses his endless love for God in this Psalm and illustrates to the
reader that if we remain faithful God will deliver. If God is obeyed he will continue to be a loving

The Success Of The Doomsday Machine
In Diplomacy, authored by Henry Kissinger, the lack of respect to the differing the balance of
power principles in separate countries of europe Europe, the bullying strategies by Germany, the
poor diplomatic alliances of Germany, Austria, France, Britain and Russia, and the lack of
understanding of differing Military policies by Germany all lead to the Doomsday Machine. The
Doomsday Machine was made up of all the actions that resulted in the ripping apart of the
diplomatic alliances, with each alliance having too much at stake to permit the Concert of Europe
diplomacyto function. Instead, the Concert of Europe and its ideas about the balance of power
were abolished. Kissinger mainly discusses the multiple diplomatic alliances that led to the
inevitable breakout of war. Most of the conflicts could have been avoided, but many of the leaders
of the European countries, mainly Germany and Russia, seemed not to consider the long term
implications of their decisions. Germany s actions started diplomatic disputes with France, Britain,
and Russia. The three countries inherently formed an alliance with each other and isolated
Germany in Europe. On the part of Russia, their main objective seemed to start a war instead of
look for peace or seek a compromise. The leaders were often unwilling to politically negotiate
because they had much of their own land and activities on the Eastern front, and therefore almost
nothing to lose. The Territorial problems presented in the Treaty of

Hair Investigation
Discussion:
The purpose for this investigation was to measure the diameter of the human hair using the
knowledge of physics of diffraction and interference and the way light waves travel through a
medium. The measurements made in this experiment were done using a ruler, a measuring tape and
the wavelength of the laser beam used. The measuring tape was used to measure the distance from
the hair to the wall. The ruler was used to measure the distance from the centre of the bright band
to the center of the first dark spot which is called the order of minimas. The increasing number of
minima corresponds to the centre of the second dark spot which are arranged numerically in order,
such as, minima 1, minima 2 and so on.

These answers can portray the high measure of precision in these results. The calculations above

There are varying factors for the strand of hair such as different people have different hair
structures and different genes which causes the diameter of the hair to differ from that of other
people. Another factor is the age of the person as children are more likely to have sensitive and
finer hair, whereas, adults have more thicker and stronger hair as well as the closer to the root of

But no one has made any definite moves yet. CP s 6% pop reflects just how excited people are
at the idea of a merger, even if there isn t anything set in stone. If CP and NSC were to

connectivity between the U.S. and Canada and pandering to the increased production of oil and
demand for other consumer goods. A merger would bring together the East coast footprint of
Norfolk Southern and the West coast footprint of Canadian Pacific, which happens to be backed
by activist hedge fund manager Bill Ackman. Overall, such a deal would send a positive
message about the future of the economy. CP has fallen over 8% in the past month, so it s hard

As previously mentioned, Renzetti and Curran, make several claims about the kind of gendered
messages that we as a society receive via our favorite television shows. I selected three other
claims to see whether or not they held true for Malcolm in the Middle. The first claim is that female
characters are more likely than men to use sex or romantic charm to get what they want. Men, in
contrast, are more likely than women to use physical force. I recorded each instance of use or
threat of physical force and whether it was a man or woman who did so. Each instance of sex or
romantic charm was also recorded according to which sex used that technique. Another claim
was only 28% of women are shown on the job compared to 41% of male characters. I kept a tally
of characters that were shown on the job or made any reference to their jobs. The last claim I
chose to analyze was that men on television are rarely shown doing housework (one to three
percent compared to twenty to twenty seven percent of women). I kept a tally of each instance
that a household chore was done and whether it was a man or woman who took care of the task.
The first claim that I analyzed was that women are more likely to use charm and men are more

cerebral palsy. A survey was conducted in England and Wales to compare birthweight specific
cerebral palsy and to analyze was there a connection between cerebral palsy and like sex and unlike
sex twins, also did the death of a twinsibling increase the chances of the surviving twin having
cerebral palsy. The birth weight was a factor in the survey due to a higher occurrence of preterm
births in twins. If a child is born pre mature, he or she is at a higher risk of hypoxic ischaemic
cerebral impairment. Data was gathered on all the registered twins born in 1994 and 1995. The
twins where one died and the other survived was part of the sample. Also part of the sample
group was whether the twins were of like or unlike sex. Two different national surveys were
completed to analyze any significance between the surviving twin being diagnosed with cerebral
palsy, and if the twins were the same sex. One of the surveys was completed by the general
practitioner inquiring whether the surviving twin had cerebral... Show more content on

One of the results from the surveys is that if a surviving twin is the same sex, then the chances of
the survivor being diagnosed with cerebral palsy are greatly increased. However, that was
questioned in the article if there was enough of a difference to statistically verify this statement.
There is a connection between low birth weight and multiple pregnancies; both are a risk factor
in cerebral palsy. If one of the twins died, there was a higher occurrence of cerebral palsy for twins
that were like sex than unlike sex. Same sex twins that were born with a low birth rate were at a
higher rate of being diagnosed with cerebral

Rousseau s Influence On America
We all know the story of America. British citizens irritated with their overbearing government left
Europe for North America on the Mayflower, where they met the natives, learned how to grow corn
thanks to the natives, celebrated the first Thanksgiving, threw some tea into the ocean that once
guided them to solace, eventually cut ties with England, and wrote the documents that solidified the
country we know and love today, nearly 300 years later. But most Americans do not know the
influence Europehad on America s beginnings, particularly works of the philosophes. It is more
fiction than fact that James Madison was the sole mover of the Constitution; Jean Jacques
Rousseau was the true great weaver of webs. If Madison and Adams were the Framers,... Show

After dividing religion into three forms, the religion of man, which is personal, the religion of the
citizen, which is public, and the third, including Christianity, which he criticizes, has two competing
systems of laws, namely state and religion. The concept of a separation between church and state is
a hallmark of American government. This theory obviously inspired the first Amendment, which
details the freedom of expression, whether it be religious preference, dissent, sexual preference, and
so on. The right of practicing any religion and the separation of church and state is protected in this
Amendment to the Constitution and explicitly detailed in this quotation. Rousseau then continues
to outline the dogmas of civil religion, which ought to be few, simple, and exactly worded, without
explanation or commentary (73). This truly applies to the American translation of Congress shall

Adversity In Harrison Bergeron
Is adversity important in society? Harrison Bergeron is a short story written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr.
It is about a dystopian future that is overly exaggerated as a future for it s ridiculous methods of
equality, such as handicapping someone so they are like everyone else. In The Giver everyone is
similar or transpires to be; competition isn t infatuated for, so no one strives for it. Adversity really
isn t considered a pleasant quality; it more makes you an outcast than anything else; however,
adversity influences the human essence of creativity, improvement, and competition, which all
prosper enjoyment. Jonas, the main character of The Giver, becomes different by being an
intellectual (pg. 127). He knows more than most and therefore feels

Tar Baby by Toni Morrison 7. What is the symbolic function of the African woman who spits at
Jadine? Tar Baby Toni Morrison s novel might for some be a novel of cultural awakening. One
also might at their first reading and perhaps also by reading the different studies made on Tar Baby,
restricted to an interpretation that sees Jadine, Morrison s protagonist, as woman who has,
consciously or unconsciously, lost her ancient properties (305) and internalized the values of a
white culture. Jadine has totally disconnected herself from her racial identity and cultural heritage.
This reading is supported by the fact that Jadine has got her education in Europe with the financial

Jadine refute Ondine s views of black womanhood when she tells her some of the things that are
expected of her from society Jadine tells Ondine that: I don t want to learn how to be the kind of
woman you re talking about because I don t want to be that kind of woman (282). This,
according to Rayson (1998), might be interpreted as Jadine s rejecting the roles of mother,
daughter, and woman to stay the tar baby (Rayson, 95), however it marks her becoming aware
of what kind of woman she is by the end of the novel. Jadine s inclination toward upward social
mobility leads to her separation from the Afro American roots and the tar quality that Morrison
advocates. This kind of flaw in Jadine effectively disqualifies her as a black woman capable of
nurturing a family and by large the community. Jadine s perception of an ancestral relationship
from which she is estranged occurs when she sees an African woman in a Parisian bakery. When
she is celebrating her success as model evidenced in her appearance on the cover of Elle, Jadine
becomes nervous or perhaps uncomfortable by the African woman in yellow attire. She triggers an
identity crisis in Jadine at the moment when she should have felt more secure with her professional
achievement assured by beauty and education. In his African woman, Jadine catches a glimpse of

Category I is the basis of CPT codes. Category II is used for tracing information. Category III is
short term codes for collection of services rendered and procedures. There are 15 appendices that
are used as guides. Modifiers help report situations. Locating codes are done by finding the main

great economy without a significant population shift into cities. According to United Nations
databases, the proportion of the 2014 world population living in urban areas was 54 per cent,
heading for 66 per cent by 2050. Urbanization is necessary to keep up growth in developing
countries, and it yields other benefits as well. But it is not pain less or always welcomed by
policymakers or the general public. Managing urbanization is an important part of nurturing
growth; neglecting cities even in countries in which the level of urbanization is low can impose
heavy costs. Historically, urban infrastructures have materialized as a response to emergent issues,
natural disasters are just an example of them. In the more distant past, construction has been a
driven by localized issues such as sanitation, flooding or fire. The reaction has been to engineer
systems (under the powers of centralized, state led planning and public funding) that solve a single

The Czechs weren t invited to take part in the Munich Conference because they didn t want to

his advisers his plans to gain control over Czechoslovakia and Austria known as the Third Reich

Germany. Despite the prohibition, many Austrians supported unity with Germany and in March
of 1938, Hitler sent his army to Austria and annexed it. France and Britain ignored their pledge to

Why Is Pulp Fiction Popular
Since 1994, the year of its release, Quentin TarantinoВґs movie, Pulp Fiction has been hailed as a
game changing and cinema redefining movie. The film s release would revive or kick start the
careers of several actors, including John Travolta, Uma Thurman, Samuel L. Jackson and Bruce
Willis (Seal). The movie would spawn dozens of knock offs and copycats all of them attempting to
capture the films style of storytelling, clever dialogue or more importantly its box office returns
(Labrecque). The filmhas also served as an inspiration for film buffs, students of film and other
indie film directors who may hope to make it big in the same way that Tarantino did. But what is

If one were to describe the very base plot of Pulp Fiction, to another person, the film would
perhaps seem somewhat unremarkable. The movie follows the exploits of several characters
around mid 1990s Los Angeles all of whom are in some way related to criminal activities (Pulp
Fiction). While this may seem like a fairly typical though potentially promising story it is what
Tarantino does with it that makes Pulp Fiction unique. The plot of the film is told out of

The Characteristics Of Ed Gein And The Leatherface
In 1974, director Tobe Hooper revolutionized horror with his film inspired by a true story, THE
TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. Almost immediately after the film s release, rumors began
to circulate that there was an actual chainsaw wielding madman living with his deranged family
in the town of Poth, Texas. The inspired events were also said to have taken place on August
18th, 1973. However, a quick check of that date reveals that the film had just wrapped four days
prior, making it fairly difficult to base a film on an actual event that had yet to occur. Despite this,
there was an actual skin wearing maniac that was the film s inspiration.
He may not have had a chainsaw, but serial killer Ed Gein was a key inspiration for the infamous
Leatherface. Born in 1906 in Plainfield, Wisconsin, Ed Gein lived most of his life as a reclusive
loner. Born to an alcoholic father, George, and a fanatically religious mother, Augusta, Ed Gein
suffered heavy psychological and physical abuse at the hands of his parents. Classmates remember
Ed as being reclusive with strange habits. One of his most unnerving habits was to randomly laugh
out loud as though someone had told a joke that only he could hear.

Four Tips to Help a Small Business Owner Spot Fake $10 and $20 Bills
If you own a retail business that takes cash, it is important that you train your cashiers to spot fake
currency. For many businesses, it is a basic strategy to simply refuse bills over twenty dollars, but
you still have to deal with the problem of counterfeit $10 and $20 bills. The following are a few
things you and your cashiers should know to spot fake money in you store.
Look for the watermark
This is an image that can be seen when you hold the bill up to the light. The watermark will be a

If you look closely when holding up the note to the light, you can see this thread. It is not printed,
but is a thread that is embedded in the bill. In addition, there is printing on the thread. For the $10
and $20 bills, there will be the letters USA. After this will be the word ten or twenty, depending
upon the denomination.
Using a counterfeit money detection pen
These pens are easy to use and are an important weapon in detecting counterfeit bills. Basically,
you make a mark on the bill the same way you would when using a felt pen. If the mark changes to
a color indicated by the manufacturer of the pen, then the bill is fake. These pens are checking for
certain common chemicals that are used when criminals produce fake money.
Check for the feel of the note and the printing
If you are still unsure after the above three checks, you can take a bill that is known to be
authentic and compare this to the suspicious bill. The first thing to compare is the feel of the bill.
Fake bills may have a thinner texture to them. A better comparison is with the printing. Authentic
bills have small and detailed printing that is produced from metal plates. When a bill is a forgery,
the details on a bill are often blurry. A magnifying glass is best used to detect these

The same health regeneration ability of Wolverinewas given to Deadpool. However, unlike
Wolverine, Deadpool s health regeneration is quick enough that he is quite literally immortal. In
the Marvel comic, Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe #1 , Sue of the Fantastic Four uses her
powers to blow up Deadpool s head. As she turns away, Deadpool was able to regrow his head
and stab her from behind (Bunn). Also, in the Marvel comic, Deadpool: Suicide Kings , the
Punisher is able to cut off both of Deadpool s arms and even decapitate him. Right as Daredevil
and Spider man jump in to stop the Punisher, Deadpool was able to escape the scene regenerated
of any injuries (Barbieri, Benson, Crystal). Deadpool was able to regenerate all limbs and
organs in a matter of seconds to save his life. This nails the idea that Deadpool is in fact,
immortal. Some of the most strategic heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe have not been
successful in killing Deadpool. Deathstroke, on the other hand, can regenerate health, but it does
not allow him to regrow limbs unlike the far superior capabilities of Deadpool. As seen on the
television show Arrow, Deathstroke was shot in the eye with Green Arrow s Arrow. Later on in
the seasons, Deathstroke never regrows that eye and uses an eye patch (CW). If any serious
injuries are inflicted on Deathstroke s limbs or organs, it could mean the end of his life. One quick
stab to the heart with Deadpool s sword would kill Deathstroke. This further concludes that in a
deathmatch involving Deadpool vs. Deathstroke, the one to survive would be

pick an answer due to being swayed by both sides of the preferences, but following the advice on

When comparing my own self perception to my MBTI, I agree on the majority of the results. I

However, I feel I have some introverted characteristics such as, thinking and reflecting first before I

communication and relationships. [3]
I agree with the test about my way of understanding being based around sensing. I feel I use my

possibilities. [3]

Stakeholders: farmers and residents living around and downstream of Spring Grove Dam.
Effects: how this dam will affect the water availability to residents and farmers in the area. The
effects will address the quantity and quality of the water. How it effects/impacts them: It effects
them in the way that many have lost their homes, or they have a lower water supply. They have
also been effected by a change in weather conditions in the area which could affect crops or
cattle, this has been caused by a large water mass having been built in the area that was not there
before. Farmers downstream may find it difficult to pump water as their water supply may be
affected. As the Midlands has a growing population, a decrease or change in the flow patterns of
the Mooi River and a decrease of water to those that live downstream is not ideal for the
population of the area. Economic Impact: how the building of the dam has affected the area

in labour skills. Social Impact: how the building of Spring Grove Dam has affected the Midlands in
any social form, for example an increase of visitors or if the dam is privately owned. REVIEW OF
LITERATURE: Several articles were read and analysed. All were in relation towards my topic.
Some aspects of the reviews supported my topic, other aspects contradicted. The literature was read

Parasympathetic And Sympathetic Nervous System Analysis
INTRODUCTION
Within vertebrates, heart rate is established by the sinoatrial (SA) node of the heart. This is
achieved through a series of action potentials which drives excitation of cardiac muscles and
establishes a rhythmic pace (Fritz et al., 2011). However, there are numerous factors that can affect
the SA nodes impact on heart rate, which are primarily related to the autonomic nervous system.
The autonomic nervous system is responsible for the regulation of involuntary functions, and is
broken up into the parasympathetic (PSNS) and sympathetic nervous systems (SNS). The SNS is
most commonly referred to as an organism s fight or flight response, in which its activation is
generally in response to stress, and results in a preparation

Human Resources Management Foundations
March 10, 2014
Material Requirements Planning (MRP) is a production planning and inventory control system
used to manage the manufacturing process. Most MRP systems are software based. However, it
is possible to conduct MRP by hand as well. The intent of a MRP system is to simultaneously
meet three objectives; (1) Ensure materials are available for production and products are available
for delivery to customers; (2) Maintain the lowest possible level of inventory; and (3) Plan
manufacturing activities, delivery schedules, and purchasing activities.
As expected, there are certain functions of human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These employees should perform business processes and change management. However, they
should not perform administrative activities. By separating transactional and administrative
functions from strategic improvement responsibilities, an organizational development group can
help accelerate operational changes (Power, 2012).
Although the human resources department does not typically lead the change and process
improvement initiatives, nonetheless, the skills potentially found within employees drawn to the
field present a clear opportunity (Power, 2012). Human resources employees should be considered
fundamental members of the MRP implementation team.
Based on the planned growth of the organization with the implementation of a MRP system, three
factors that might impact the organization s ability to hire new employees that possess the
technical skills needed to perform a job include forecasting, goal setting and strategic planning, and
the program implementation and evaluation (Noe et al., 2014, p. 131).
The first step is forecasting is for human resources to determine the demand for specific job skills
area. After this area has been identified, then a determination for the demand for each area of
skill. This can be done using statistical methods or trend analysis, which measures the labor
demand for a certain period or range of time (Noe et al., 2014, p. 131).
Secondly is the need for setting goals and strategic planning. This is

Number of circuits and approaches are used for aeronautical billing and statistical purposes.
A major point to bear in mind with the way is that the airlines/handling agents are also being
updated on estimates of arrival and departure. Therefore it has to be agreed by all the party s
concerned on who will be responsible for the updating the information.
Airlines and handling agents know of new flight information and if both parties have the ability to
create new flights then a minute difference in time can create two flights instead of the one.
ATC information can be used to create mandatory statistics required by some Government agencies
such as the National Air traffic Service (NATS) who use the information for planning purposes and
in some case for airspace usage.

A Psychodynamic Therapist May Also Be Willing To Help Steven
A psychodynamic therapist may also be willing to help Steven explore these dynamic, internal
forces that have determine the trajectories of his life, thus far, since coming into contact with, or
being influenced by, his past experiences. Taken together, the overarching goal of a psychodynamic
therapist is to listen attentively to what the client is sharing, looking for abnormalities that the
individual finds hard to cope with, which give rise to the stated conflict amongst these forces,
subsequently leading to the presenting negative effects. In Steven s situation, we know that his
childhood was spent looking out for his two younger brothers because his parents were alcoholics
and disinterested in us kids. Thus, Steven s chronic worry... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Considering some common features and characteristics of psychodynamic psychotherapies, we can
also encompass a focus on Steven s affect and emotional expression, self experience and relatedness,
maladaptive relationship patterns, transference and countertransference, exploration of unconscious
motives and fantasies, and relate his current experiences to his past experiences (Friederich, Zeeck
Herzog, 2015).
Altogether, Steven s ego defense mechanism has failed to control his unacceptable id impulses,
which lead to his chronic worry and negative ruminations. Insofar, his childhood experiences
coupled with both his parents being alcoholics, has conflicted with Steven s unconscious forces,
since becoming aware that he is expecting his first child. Or perhaps, his fixation on the actions of
his parents could have impacted him. Irrespective of both, they are all important in helping us to
understand Steven s presenting concerns and allowing him to gain a deepened understanding of
self and others, recognize his strengths and challenges and develop or increase his capacities to
cope more effectively (Borden, 2000; Cortina, 2010).

Honor In Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing
In Shakespeare s Much Ado About Nothing, the theme of honor is what ultimately directs this
play. The main plot deals with suspected infidelity between Claudio and his soon to be bride,
Hero. In the time that this play is set, a woman s virginity defined her worth and sustained a man
s honor. Claudio s supposed honor and social status would be ruined if he were to marry a
woman who was impure. The honor of a woman is appears to be almost solely based on their
purity and loyalty to their husbands, while a man s honor seems to be not based on their behavior,
but rather the behavior of those around them. A man s honor rarely depends on his physical actions,
but more so his military or occupational standing and friendships. Because Claudio... Show more

This principle is seen predominantly when Hero s worth is completely diminished when her
fiance is tricked into thinking she is cheating on him. At the wedding, Claudio humiliates Hero
by accusing her of infidelity. Claudio says, Give not this rotten orange to your friend; / She s but
the sign and semblance of her honour. / Behold how like a maid she blushes here! (IV.I. 31 33).
In this quote, Claudio is explaining to Leonato that he is giving away his impure daughter to
him, and that he is almost offended that he would be offered such a terrible gift. Claudio even
goes so far to declare that he would never marry her by saying, Not to knit my soul to an
approved wanton meaning that there is no way he would even been seen with Hero because of
her infidelities. Unfortunately, Hero is actually a virgin throughout the whole play, but because
she is thought to have had relations with another man, her fiance denounces her, and she is
publically shamed for all of her actions, ultimately leading to her to have to fake her own death
just in order to prove she is actually a virgin. All of this unnecessary heartache that Hero went
through was because of how high society held, and to an extent, still holds a woman s innocence
and sexual purity. While this high standard is set for women to be their purist self in order to keep

The Constitution Is Revered For Both Its Age And Its Brevity
The U.S Constitution is revered for both its age and its brevity. The Constitution is a short and
concise document has been able to stand the test of time and it has remained the ultimate guide of
principles for law creation and enforcement. With that being said, the words of the Constitution are
unclear in many respects. Politicians have debates over the Constitutiondue to the reason that it is
difficult to figure out what the Framers meant when they originally wrote the Constitution.
According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the authority to decide if a law passed by
Congress is Constitutional. However, the vagueness of the Constitution allows for the Supreme
Court to interpret the Constitution differently since they have to figure out how to apply it to the
twenty first century.
The vagueness of constitution, while enabling the country to progress, has also been the source of
conflict among the individuals in government office. In terms of the Supreme Court, there is a
fundamental philosophical debate on how the vagueness of the constitution should be interpreted.
Both sides adhere strictly to the written words of the Constitution there is no debate about that. But
much of the constitutional rhetoric is open for interpretation, creating two schools of thought. The
first thought, originalism argues that the Supreme Court should interpret the constitution solely to
reflect the original views of the framers. Not only should the exact text be considered, but

The Sunflower: On the Possibilities and Limits of Forgiveness
The Holocaust will always be remembered by the world as a period where human evil was most
prevalent, and where millions of innocent lives were taken in cold blood. It doesn t matter
whether your ancestors were involved, or if you were around to experience it, you only have to
be human in order to feel for all of the people who were affected. Over the years studies like
Milgram s Obedience Experiment, and Zimbardo s Stanford Prison Study have shed light on some
of the basic roots of human evil, but these roots are not enough to pave the way for forgiveness of
the events that occurred. Simon Wiesenthal s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Depriving this child of a life based on what ethnicity they were born is an inhumane act of
cruelty. Whether or not it is driven by fear, the trigger is pulled, and his moral decision is made.
The children had not yet experienced the pleasures in life that so many others were given the
chance to before being brought to their end by SS soldiers.
To become a member of the Hitler Youth or the German SS, one must willfully sign up and sign
their lives over to the cause. In order to give forgiveness one must ask the question of what the
initial intent of the harmful action was, and if there is something that could have been done to
avoid it. At 6:10 in the Milgram Obedience Study video, the authority figure tells the teacher you
have no other choice teacher to which the teacher responds Oh I have a lot of choices, my
number one choice is that I wouldn t go on if I thought he was being harmed . While he found
many people willing to defy their conscience and go with authority, 40% actually walked away
willingly from the experiment with no problem at all. In this case we have Karl, who was a good
church boy, who signed up to the army in knowing of the situation that was going to unfold. The
following events may not have been as bad as he presumed, but Hitler s motives were pretty clear
and hateful in their ways while recruiting. Had he been courageous enough to remove himself from
the situation, it could have been more lives that were saved.

The Importance Of Oral Reading Assessment
Throughout this process of giving assessments, I came to the conclusion that some assessments are
more time efficient than others, while other assessments that take more time provide more useful
information that allow a teacher to provide individualized instruction for each student. The
assessment that took the most time was the Informal PhonicsSurvey, which required nearly twenty
minutes for an individual child to take the assessment; however, because of the time commitment
for each individual child, this assessment would not be an ideal source of information for an entire
class. In contrast, the DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency assessment only required ten minutes to
assess an individual child, and this assessment would be ideal for testing an entire class. I also
realized that the Informal Phonics Survey provides more detailed information than the DIBELS
Oral Reading Fluency assessment does, and although the IPS takes more time to administer, the
information gives a teacher more insight into the specific strengths and weaknesses of each child in
their classroom by breaking the test into smaller sections (letters, sounds, initial/final consonants,
blends and digraphs, long and short vowels, closed syllables, soft c/g generalization, open
syllables, special vowels, syllabication, and common syllables). This breakdown of the assessment
allows the teacher to see the phonics skills each student is struggling with and allows for
individualized instruction. The DIBELS assessment,

The Legacy Of The Ford Motor Company
On June 17, 1903 the Ford Motor Company was organized. The date is the day the deal started
for Henry Ford not because the company had his name, the day all his hard work would start to
payoff. To look at the deal from just one day would not do justice to the brilliant way and
intertwined ways Henry Ford took the world by storm. From the start in Ford s garage to the
offices of lawyers, and then on to control of the largest automotive companies in the world one
can see the deal was just a key to Mr. Ford s future. To start, Henry Fordwas born on a family farm
during the Civil War. This is what would drive Mr. Ford; not wanting to be a farmer and wanting
to work on machinery. Unsatisfied with farm work, Ford left home the following year, at the
age of 16, to take an apprenticeship as a machinist in Detroit. In the years that followed, he
would learn to skillfully operate and service steam engines, and would also study bookkeeping.
Later Henry Ford would work for the Edison Lighting Company as an engineer, later Ford would
become chief engineer. Ford got a chance to meet Thomas Edison and showed Edison his plans
for his first horseless carriage. This meeting would lead to a friendship that would help Ford
when designing his assembly line. Another account of Ford s early years says, In 1879 he left the
farm to become an apprentice at the Michigan Car Company, a manufacturer of railroad cars in
Detroit. Over the next two and one half years he held several similar jobs,

Application For A Management Job
In this case I am about to apply for a management job. One of the requirements for the job is that
I have to be proficient in CAD, but at the time of the application I m only taking classes for
CAD. So the question is, do I still apply knowing that I am not fully qualified for the job. To
answer this, we first need to weigh the facts. First I am more than qualified for the job besides the
slight fact that I am not yet proficient in CAD. So, what s the problem? Well it comes down to ethics
. In this situation the primary stakeholder is the company I am applying for, and that forces me
look at the situation and make a decision. I got two options one lie and say I am proficient in cad,
or tell the truth. I know it sounds like the answer is simple enough right? Just tell the truth right?
Well not necessarily. Even though I am not proficient in CAD, I am still much qualified for the
job. So I would still apply for the job, because I m in the class so I would be ready for the job once
I get it. I know the ethical thing to do is turn down the opportunity for the job, but the question is
what would I do. So that why I would choose to apply for the job. Case 2:
In case 2 I am a supervisor on a design project. I am well aware of the NCEES code rule, which
states that every component of the design project has to be signed and sealed by the engineer
who created it. I as the supervisor have been very overwhelmed with the work load, and began
approving everyone s plans. I have in

Efficiency Increasing System
EFFICIENCY INCREASING SYSTEM BY USING PREHEATING METHOD
METHODOLOGY
The concept of increasing the fuel efficiency of a petrol engine in this project, is to pre heat the
intake air which is flowing through the carburetor. The humidity in the atmospheric air affects the
petrol vapourisation in the carburettor. Therefore, by pre heating the inlet air to the carburettor for
a considerable amount, the vapourisation can be ease and in turn complete combustion is achieved.
Moreover by reducing the water vapour to the engine, the steam formation in the engine can be
reduced pitting of the engine cylinder, piston and exhaust pipe.
The pre heating of inlet air to the engine can be achieved by fixing a heat exchanger inside the
exhaust ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The air fuel ratio must change depending when maximum Economy or maximum power is
required. Also required air fuel ratio must be provided for transient conditions like starting, warm
up, and acceleration. Further in all conditions the consideration of minimum exhaust emission
should be kept in mind.
For automotive Engines there are three main areas of steady state operation requiring different air
fuel ratios.
1. Idling and Low Load
The no load running made of the Engine is called idling. During idling the air supply is
restricted by the nearly closed throttle and the suction pressure is very low. This condition of
low pressure gives rise to back flow of exhaust gases and air leakage from the various parts of the
Engine intake system. At idling and during part load operation back flow during the valve overlap
period occurs since the exhaust pressure is higher than the intake pressure. This increases the
amount of residual gases. The problem of dilution by residual gases becomes more pronounced at
low loads and idling because the exhaust temperature reduces with decreasing load, i.e., the density
and hence mass of the residual gases increase.
The amount of fresh charge brought in during idling is much less than that during full throttle
operation. The presence of exhaust gas tends to obstruct the contact of fuel and air particles a
requirement necessary for satisfactory combustion. The richening of mixtures increases

  • 2. Flat Tax Policy People have said for years that the only two things inevitable in this world are death and taxes. Indeed, any legitimate national government has the power to tax its people in some fashion. It is a complicated issue that experts continue to debate to this day. Higher taxes do not necessarily mean a prosperous economy. In fact, more times than not, high taxes hurt the economy. The United States should implement a flat taxpolicy that is based on biblical principles, because it is fair for all across the board, because it will increase revenue by discouraging tax evasion, and because the flat tax form is much simpler to understand. Taxation has been an important facet of civilization throughout history. Many rulers have taken advantage of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the Church, each Christian is commanded by God to give ten percent of his income back to the church. In the Old Testament, Moses wrote in Deuteronomy 12:6, And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes. Furthermore, the tithe was based on income. King Solomon wrote in Proverbs 3:9, Honour the Lord with thy substance and with the firstfruits of all thine increase. What made the tithe fair for Christians was the concept of proportionality, or the quality of corresponding in size to something else. In the same way, the flat tax is based on biblical principles because it is based on proportionality and is revenue neutral. As Dr. Ben Carson said, You make $10 billion, you pay a billion, you make ten dollars, you pay one (dollar). (Julia Limitone) The Bible has one interpretation but many applications and mankind can certainly apply the principles of tithing to tax ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Machiavelli Virtue Analysis Razhan Khalid Prof. Frederick Monsma Pol 303 December 14th 2016 Considering Virtue Niccolo Machiavelli s thought on virtue has been analyzed in many ways, but no one has ever got the right answer to what Machiavelli himself meant. According to Machiavelli virtue is defined as generosity and compassion that are praised by others. Few have analyzed on the writings of Machiavelli s concept; this assignment is hard to understand because its not clear what Machiavelli means. Virtue has many meanings, but one of the main points in philosophy is that virtue is a part of good life. Politically sometimes virtue can be used as skill and strength either as force or potential. Virtue is mostly linked with understanding and controlling the world. In this essay I will be discussing what Machiavelli thinks that a prince should do and what they shouldn t do in order to become a successful ruler. Machiavelli s main advice here for the princes are that they should be hard and real rather than being soft with the people, because the ones that stay true will last longer as a ruler rather than those who are generous. People hate the truth most of the times, because everyone knows that the truth is also hard to take. • 6. Military Draft While many people believe that an all volunteer service could be more efficient, the United States government should institute a combination of a draft and volunteer service as its military service profile. An all volunteer service is one which derives its manpower from volunteers rather than conscription or mandatory service. Conscription(or drafting) is the compulsory enlistment of people in some sort of national service, such as militaryservice. Many arguments are presented in support of both the draft and the all volunteer force. These arguments are analyzed in the following categories: military effectiveness; cost and other economic considerations; and morality. Even though the United Stateschanged to an all volunteer service in 1973, the country reserves the right to renew conscription in the event of an emergency. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is clear that the country would not have nothing to lose having a combination of those two, instead, would benefit the United States in every way possible. Since depending on an all volunteer force has meant that the military cannot always recruit and retain enough personnel for its needs, a draft would provide the people that the military needs, but also would decrease their overall cost every year since they would not have to offer attractive pay and benefits through military recruitment to attract volunteers. In the other hand, volunteer would also be a big hit to the military because since retention rates have improved and initial enlistment periods have become longer in the AVF, experience levels have increased. Women in the military could be the best fit. Since women, under a draft, are likely to fall because of the military Selective Service System, women can enlist voluntarily. Those advantages would help the best for a better of the United ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While his earlier policies were a bit heavy handed and were unpopular enough to cause rebellion he quickly learned from his mistakes. He then took a much subtler approach to absolute rule and by the end of his rule France had expanded greatly and the crown had a stranglehold on both domestic and foreign policies. The first of his many great decisions was that he appointed no Chief minister that way no noble could simply challenge a single man, they had to challenge the entire crown. Introduction The 19th century developments of firstly the telegraph, and later the telephone, opened a gateway to a new, closer, more interdependent world. For a country as large as the United States, with a population now scattered from east to west, the implications were tremendous. The infamous tyranny of time and distance had been conquered. Widespread acceptance and appreciation, however, were not immediate. Both inventions met with initial scepticism, ridicule, and even elements of fear. The wisdom of twenty first century hindsight makes such reticence seem incredible and somewhat amusing, but the very magnitude of instantaneous communication was the source of anxiety in the first recipients as much as of excitement. His studies at Yale refined his primary passion for art, but Morse was also fascinated by the sciences, particularly the new theories of electricity. For despite the concentrated efforts of others from the 1820s to create an electromagnetic telegraph, Morse did not appear to have been aware of these developments and he worked, in the main, independently. Throughout Morse s financially insecure career as an artist, his studies, both in America and Europe led him into contact with other men of scientific interests. In 1827 Morse s role as founder and president of the National Academy of the Arts and Design in New York provided opportunity to attend lectures on electricity and electromagnetism by James Freeman Dana. • 10. The Labor Force In Mr. Wonka s Charlie And The Chocolate... The publication of the 1964 storyline of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory associates to the politics and history of the United Kingdom. During this time, the labor force in the story directly relates to the labor anxieties expressed in the UK. According to Robert Miles and Annie Phizacklea, the British Nationality Act of 1948 released the labor market and British citizenship to the New Commonwealth, men and women from the Caribbean and the Indian sub continent who came to sell their labor power for a wage in British factories (Miles Phizacklea 1984). Once these men and women arrived, they were instantaneously assumed as low grade, separated from the white and there human appearance was questioned. Therefore, the men and women were later called the domestic class in the British Empire, within the primary fragments of the slave trade. This relates to the story that Grandpa Joe tells in the 1964 book. He states then one day, all of a sudden, Mr. Wonka had to ask every single one of them to leave, to go home, never to come back (Dahl 19). Grandpa Joe then says, the factory opened again however, nobody...ever...comes...out and nobody...ever... goes... (Dahl 17). He explains the rising and falling of the factory and how Wonka fires his entire staff, rebuilds his chocolate factory with hidden workers, the Oompa Loompas. Selling around 250,000 copies each year, Jerome David Salinger s novel pushed him into the spotlight, and two years later he published the short story Teddy, under the name J.D. However, the story does play in favor of its audience. Due to the fact, The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad is meant for children the storyline is heavily playful and light hearted. For example, in a scene in the film, the audience can see Ichabod dancing on top of a pumpkin while his rival, Brom, is being squeezed and chased by an unwanted dance partner. In Disney s telling of the story, every character s personality traits are heavily played into. For instance, Katrina is supposed to be a flirt and we see the townsmen follow and obey her every whim. Another example would be Ichabod s gluttonous characteristic. This can be seen where Ichabod is punishing a child but stops because there is a lot of food in the boy s basket. Although, Disney does not stray from the original telling he does add a few musical numbers to the story which is a common theme in Disney movies. Another difference that Disney s telling has from the original work is that he heavily suggests two things. First, the possibility that Katrina is using Ichabod to make Brom jealous. Lastly, the disappearance of Ichabod is focused on the Headless Horseman as the accused. Disney s translation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow is an example of the story being ... Soylent Persuasive Essay Can you imagine living in a world with no family time around the dining table, no more passing the salt to add more flavor to the mashed potatoes, nor savoring in the different textures of baked lasagna, crispy fried shrimp, and creamy broccoli cheddar soup? Neither can I. Now imagine drinking a glass of flavorless, watered down oatmeal gunk for the rest of your life? Me niether. But for those who can, Soylent seems to be the perfect choice. Soylent is a nutritional substitute for solid food. In other words, it is a tasteless, unpalatable smoothie that is compatible for people who have no time to cook a simple meal. The main reason why products like Soylent are created is because many people devalue the time spent with their family and don t truly appreciate the simple pleasures of life like savoring home cooked meals, going out to restaurants with your friends, or even eatingpopcorn while watching a movie. The Success Of The Doomsday Machine In Diplomacy, authored by Henry Kissinger, the lack of respect to the differing the balance of power principles in separate countries of europe Europe, the bullying strategies by Germany, the poor diplomatic alliances of Germany, Austria, France, Britain and Russia, and the lack of understanding of differing Military policies by Germany all lead to the Doomsday Machine. The Doomsday Machine was made up of all the actions that resulted in the ripping apart of the diplomatic alliances, with each alliance having too much at stake to permit the Concert of Europe diplomacyto function. Instead, the Concert of Europe and its ideas about the balance of power were abolished. Kissinger mainly discusses the multiple diplomatic alliances that led to the inevitable breakout of war. Most of the conflicts could have been avoided, but many of the leaders of the European countries, mainly Germany and Russia, seemed not to consider the long term implications of their decisions. Germany s actions started diplomatic disputes with France, Britain, and Russia. The three countries inherently formed an alliance with each other and isolated Germany in Europe. On the part of Russia, their main objective seemed to start a war instead of look for peace or seek a compromise. The leaders were often unwilling to politically negotiate because they had much of their own land and activities on the Eastern front, and therefore almost nothing to lose. Hair Investigation Discussion: The purpose for this investigation was to measure the diameter of the human hair using the knowledge of physics of diffraction and interference and the way light waves travel through a medium. The measurements made in this experiment were done using a ruler, a measuring tape and the wavelength of the laser beam used. The measuring tape was used to measure the distance from the hair to the wall. The ruler was used to measure the distance from the centre of the bright band to the center of the first dark spot which is called the order of minimas. The increasing number of minima corresponds to the centre of the second dark spot which are arranged numerically in order, such as, minima 1, minima 2 and so on. This, according to Rayson (1998), might be interpreted as Jadine s rejecting the roles of mother, daughter, and woman to stay the tar baby (Rayson, 95), however it marks her becoming aware of what kind of woman she is by the end of the novel. Deathstroke, on the other hand, can regenerate health, but it does not allow him to regrow limbs unlike the far superior capabilities of Deadpool. As seen on the television show Arrow, Deathstroke was shot in the eye with Green Arrow s Arrow. Later on in the seasons, Deathstroke never regrows that eye and uses an eye patch (CW). If any serious injuries are inflicted on Deathstroke s limbs or organs, it could mean the end of his life. One quick stab to the heart with Deadpool s sword would kill Deathstroke. The main plot deals with suspected infidelity between Claudio and his soon to be bride, Hero. In the time that this play is set, a woman s virginity defined her worth and sustained a man s honor. Claudio s supposed honor and social status would be ruined if he were to marry a woman who was impure. The honor of a woman is appears to be almost solely based on their purity and loyalty to their husbands, while a man s honor seems to be not based on their behavior, but rather the behavior of those around them. The Constitution is a short and concise document has been able to stand the test of time and it has remained the ultimate guide of principles for law creation and enforcement. With that being said, the words of the Constitution are unclear in many respects. Politicians have debates over the Constitutiondue to the reason that it is difficult to figure out what the Framers meant when they originally wrote the Constitution. According to the Constitution, the Supreme Court has the authority to decide if a law passed by Congress is Constitutional. However, the vagueness of the Constitution allows for the Supreme Court to interpret the Constitution differently since they have to figure out how to apply it to the twenty first century. The vagueness of constitution, while enabling the country to progress, has also been the source of conflict among the individuals in government office. In terms of the Supreme Court, there is a fundamental philosophical debate on how the vagueness of the constitution should be interpreted. Both sides adhere strictly to the written words of the Constitution there is no debate about that. But much of the constitutional rhetoric is open for interpretation, creating two schools of thought. The Importance Of Oral Reading Assessment Throughout this process of giving assessments, I came to the conclusion that some assessments are more time efficient than others, while other assessments that take more time provide more useful information that allow a teacher to provide individualized instruction for each student. The assessment that took the most time was the Informal PhonicsSurvey, which required nearly twenty minutes for an individual child to take the assessment; however, because of the time commitment for each individual child, this assessment would not be an ideal source of information for an entire class. In contrast, the DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency assessment only required ten minutes to assess an individual child, and this assessment would be ideal for testing an entire class. I also realized that the Informal Phonics Survey provides more detailed information than the DIBELS Oral Reading Fluency assessment does, and although the IPS takes more time to administer, the information gives a teacher more insight into the specific strengths and weaknesses of each child in their classroom by breaking the test into smaller sections (letters, sounds, initial/final consonants, blends and digraphs, long and short vowels, closed syllables, soft c/g generalization, open syllables, special vowels, syllabication, and common syllables). To look at the deal from just one day would not do justice to the brilliant way and intertwined ways Henry Ford took the world by storm. From the start in Ford s garage to the offices of lawyers, and then on to control of the largest automotive companies in the world one can see the deal was just a key to Mr. Ford s future. To start, Henry Fordwas born on a family farm during the Civil War. This is what would drive Mr. Ford; not wanting to be a farmer and wanting to work on machinery. Unsatisfied with farm work, Ford left home the following year, at the age of 16, to take an apprenticeship as a machinist in Detroit. In the years that followed, he would learn to skillfully operate and service steam engines, and would also study bookkeeping. Later Henry Ford would work for the Edison Lighting Company as an engineer, later Ford would become chief engineer. Ford got a chance to meet Thomas Edison and showed Edison his plans for his first horseless carriage. This meeting would lead to a friendship that would help Ford when designing his assembly line. One of the requirements for the job is that I have to be proficient in CAD, but at the time of the application I m only taking classes for CAD. In this situation the primary stakeholder is the company I am applying for, and that forces me look at the situation and make a decision. Efficiency Increasing System EFFICIENCY INCREASING SYSTEM BY USING PREHEATING METHOD METHODOLOGY The concept of increasing the fuel efficiency of a petrol engine in this project, is to pre heat the intake air which is flowing through the carburetor. The humidity in the atmospheric air affects the petrol vapourisation in the carburettor. Therefore, by pre heating the inlet air to the carburettor for a considerable amount, the vapourisation can be ease and in turn complete combustion is achieved. Moreover by reducing the water vapour to the engine, the steam formation in the engine can be reduced pitting of the engine cylinder, piston and exhaust pipe. The air fuel ratio must change depending when maximum Economy or maximum power is required. Also required air fuel ratio must be provided for transient conditions like starting, warm up, and acceleration. Further in all conditions the consideration of minimum exhaust emission should be kept in mind. For automotive Engines there are three main areas of steady state operation requiring different air fuel ratios. 1. Idling and Low Load The no load running made of the Engine is called idling. During idling the air supply is restricted by the nearly closed throttle and the suction pressure is very low. This condition of low pressure gives rise to back flow of exhaust gases and air leakage from the various parts of the Engine intake system. At idling and during part load operation back flow during the valve overlap period occurs since the exhaust pressure is higher than the intake pressure. This increases the amount of residual gases. The problem of dilution by residual gases becomes more pronounced at low loads and idling because the exhaust temperature reduces with decreasing load, i.e., the density and hence mass of the residual gases increase. The amount of fresh charge brought in during idling is much less than that during full throttle operation. The presence of exhaust gas tends to obstruct the contact of fuel and air particles a requirement necessary for satisfactory combustion. The richening of mixtures increases ...
