Noels Article Summary
Noels article, talks about the comparison of the Haudenosaunee to the Anglo Americans, as well as
the Dutch and the French women to the Anglo Americans women. His main points were about the
power that is behind their voices, when it came to political and economic opinions. Noel article
main thesis states that these entrepreneurs were accepted figures among the Dutch and French of
North America a minority to be sure, but not an insignificant one. In vastly larger numbers, ordinary
women traded their produces and handiwork at local markets . Noel also states that compared to

idea of how the Haudenoseunee had man address the man and women address the the women.
Where is the European society men were seen as addressing both the men and women . In terms
of the French and the Dutch women had some power that was given to them by there husband
weather it was written or given verbally. Noel also states that men were either for or against
women having a say. French women were normally seen as influential , yet many men still
complained. In one account of Madame Vaudreuil ingratiated herself with the marine. Crinent

her protection, she threatens to use her influences Noel added she causes great fear and imposes
silence on most of those who could speak against her husband . Yet these complaints still did not

Nt1110 Memory Lab Report
In computer organization and architecture, memory is the most important part of a computer.
Every computer must have its own memory. Memory represents two stable or semi stable states
that are representing 1 and 0. It is capable of being written to at least once and read multiple
times. In this lab, we will learn briefly on two parts of memory only, which are RAM and ROM.
As we know that a memory can either be non volatile (as seen in a read only memory) or volatile
(used in random access memory).
There are several types of semiconductor memory, such as Random Access Memory (RAM), Read
Only Memory (ROM), Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM), Erasable Programmable Read
Only Memory (EPROM), Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM)
and Flash Memory. There are many types of RAM, such as Static RAM (SRAM), Dynamic RAM
(DRAM), Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) and Double Data Rate SDRAM (DDR SDRAM). In
order to catch up with the increasing speed of processors, the RAM is needed to be ... Show more

ROM is a form of semiconductor that can be written to. It was used to store the programs called
firmware that a computer executes when switched on. ROM is still used in systems with
constant functionalities. PROM is similar to ROM but allows the users to write their own
programs and data. However, it needs a special PROM writing equipment. For EPROM, we can
erase the data of the chips and rewrite with new information. It is normally used to store the boot
program of a computer (firmware), which is known as Basic I/O System (BIOS). EEPROM
supports updates to individual bytes whereas EPROM updates the whole memory. FLASH
memory is a cheaper type of EEPROM where updates can only be carried out on the blocks of
memory but not on individual bytes. It is found in USB sticks, flash cards and typically range
from 1 GB to 32

How Did the Consolidation of the British Empire and Its...
1. Introduction I assume that the time period to focus predominantly on in answering this question
is the circa fifteen years from when Britain in 1760 emerged victorious from the French and
Indian War, and up to the events of the early 1770s that in the end led to the decisions at the
Continental Congress in 1774; skirmishes between colonial minutemen and British troops in early
1775; and the declaration of independence in 1776. However, I would contend that throughout the
gradual colonial expansion of the English and later (from 1707) British Empire at least up until
the era discussed here there was a fluctuation between more or less centralized control, and more or
less efforts to centralize control, on behalf of either Crown or... Show more content on

Further, the relative power of the British compared with other nations was never decisive, and other
colonial powers were interested both in challenging British claims, and in opening their exploits
further into unchartered territories to especially the west and north west of the British territory. To
avoid new alliances between Indian nations and competing European states, and generally to avoid
further aggravating the most influential of the Indian nations west of the Appalachian mountain
range, a proclamation line was made, forbidding further westward expansion by the colonial
settlers, and securing Indian claims to the land west of the mountains. And third, the continuing
economic and political power struggle between European powers at the time, especially between
France and Britain and their respective allies, was also costly, and in part sought financed by the
colonies. 4. Effects on the American colonist s way of life The effects on the colonies of these
policies were manifold. First, a ban on further expansion aggravated the colonials, especially the
ones who had ventured to a continent they thought of as having an unlimited access to land and
opportunity. Moreover, to maintain territorial control, the British left troops in the colonies; these
were perceived by the colonials as something akin to a standing army, and thus a threat to their
independence. Second, the introduction of several taxes, albeit never

Respect Of A Child In The South During The Late 1800 s
Imagine a child in the south, during the late 1800 s. There was certain manners and values that a
child would have been raised with. One of the most important of these values was to respect one s
elders. A child raised in these values would listen to an adult and think that they re right no matter
the circumstance because they are older. Also, a child would have been raised to accept certain
social injustices like slavery. This was mainly because the adults said it was alright. Mark Twain
wanted people to realize the immorality of society during the 1800s. Mark Twain first shows this
with the Widow Douglas and Ms. Watson. Huck listens to Ms. Watson and Widow Douglas
because they are civilized in his elders. He doesn t question the fact

growing global technology leader focused on improving the way people connect with information,
and its trading stockprice is remained really high and still on the rise.

With the cost of equity capital and effective cost of debt capital, we can calculated WACC using
formula E*re/V+D*rd/V, which is 98.36%*9.254%+1.64*2.776%=9.15% (Appendix D). After
getting long run growth rate and WACC, we can find the terminal value: Vn=40365*(1+2%)9.15%

Then, the present value of free cash flows can be calculated based on the discount rate (Appendix
B). According to Appendix E, the market value of equity is $484,185 million and the stock price is
$1,183.04, while its intrinsic value of stock is $1,440.81.
I choose the mean of TEV/EBITDA and the median of TEV/Revenue as multiples to estimate
Google s stock price (Appendix F). By applying the mean value of TEV/EBITDA to find
enterprise value, we can get a corresponding intrinsic value per share of $1,248.06. By applying
the median value of TEV/Revenue, we get the corresponding intrinsic value per share of
$1,231.04 (Appendix F). Both of the value calculated by using multiples are a little bit lower than
the one from Part 1. Many completed variable involved in two different ways of obtaining the
stock price, which will in turn cause differences in result for sure.
I believe the way which using DCF method to get the total enterprise value and then to find the
corresponding stock price give the best estimate of Google s stock price. By reaching that, I first

Why Did The Samurai Attack Dbq
The sly and flexible samurai prepares to unleash his katana while opponent, the knight rides
courteously on his horse ready to pull out his sword that lies within a compartment built in his
armor. Who will win this deadly battle? The samurai, of course thanks to his agility as well as
being ready to attack whenever threatened. This essay will discuss the advantages that the samurai
has against the knight, if the two were to ever come in contact on the battlefield. One of the ways
that Samurais have an advantage against knights is due to their armor. In document D, written
by Terry Bennett, it says The helmet bowl (of a samurai) was made of 8 12 iron plates. The
samurai very much needed this because it was said and proven to be true that a knight s sword
could slice through one s head and only be stopped by the teeth of a human. Another piece of
evidence that supports my claim is in document D as well. The text states Samurai did not wear
armor on their right arm so they could easily draw their bow. This was a major advantage to the
samurai because they needed to have the ability to draw back their bow and aim at their target...

In document C1, written by PBS, the text states The young warriors studied Kendo, the art of
fencing with bamboo sticks. Warriors in their youth studied Kendo, which might ve been a factor
in allowing samurais to be flexible and quick moving. The knight could ve possibly tried to strike
at the samurai and due to the samurai s specialized training, they could easily dodge it. Another
piece of evidence that supports my claim is found in document C1, as well. The text states In their
schooling, they had physical training and learned poetry and spiritual discipline. Samurais were not
only apparently skilled physically but mentally as well. Thanks to the training they had, they most
likely had a clear mind and were full of

Gatsby Essay- the Pursued, Pursuing Busy and Tired
There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy and the tired To what extent does this sum up the
novel?
In The Great Gatsby , Fitzgerald made all his characters with four predominate behaviours; the
pursued, the pursuing, the busy, and the tired . Some may fall under only one of these groups,
where as the others may belong in all of them. This is not only a good summary of the novel but
also of people s life in general during the 1920s. Throughout the novel, there are characters who
are being chased after, and also individuals who has established that they are in pursuit, whether it
is of wealth, love, a person or an ideal such as the American Dream . However it is the pursuers
that endure the most, as for the most part they are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, those are extreme cases and will not likely to occur, therefore it is mostly the pursuers
that are eventful and exhausted. This is best represented by George, who spent his whole life in
an effort to achieve success, however in the end was unable to do so. As result he is only left
with a run down garage and living an exhausted life. When Myrtle, the love of George s life and
probably the last thing holding him together was killed, George was left with nothing despair.
For this George was determined to pursue for the avenge his wife and Gatsby became pursued
for revenge. In the due course, George kills Gatsby and ends his own life as well. Moreover, even
Tom who was achieve almost everything he desired, was eventually tired of his life, and decided to
chase after Myrtle which made him busy once again. Thus, the pursued may be troubled at times,
but for the most part it is the pursuing that suffers.
In contrast to other characters, Nick seemed exempt from being either pursued or pursuing. Being
the narrator of the novel, Nick is very voyeuristic and passive. Therefore instead of being caught
up in everyone else s business, he was very analytical, which provided him with experience for
good decision making. Therefore Nick wasn t an exhausted, nor a very busy man, however it is
evident that he still sought after bits

As a surgeon at the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care Services (NMVAHCS or

leader in particular, exhibits exceptional leadership skills which carried over to other areas of the
facility as he ascended the administrative ladder to his current station, Chief of Staff. Dr. James

Additionally, we function on a daily basis, constantly monitored by metrics, one of which looks at
wait times for initial consult appointments, and our system cannot differentiate between an initial
visit and a follow up visit. So, some middle management person in primary care, took it upon
themselves to make a unilateral decision to put patients on waiting lists. Many of these patients
suffered from cancer.
The nature of cancer requires clinical evaluation in a timely manner. The standard of care for
cancer patients always cycle towards improving care in every way possible. While we currently
deal with an archaic EMR for our scheduling, we remain tasked with caring for our Veterans in a
timely fashion, in accordance with the standards set by cancer accrediting societies in the nation. In
order to accomplish this, we need to maintain the ability to rise to the challenge of constant change.
We also live fiscally limited by decreased funding and staffing to accomplish these steep goals.

time injuries. He also learned about great loss of life and how it impacts one s psyche. He
remained resilient. He worked in private practice for many years, until he

The Administration Of Civil Law
The Administration of Civil Law
In 1996 Lord Woolf reconstructed his review on Civil Justice which led to the Access to Justice
Act 1999. There were a number of criticisms within the system and Lord Woolf s aim was to
reduce cost, delay and complexity within the system and increase access to justice. (Elliot Quinn,
2015).
There are currently 216 county courts that are solely concerned with civil work. Around 170 of
them are divorce county courts and have jurisdiction to hear undefended divorce and adoption or
guardianship cases. In the High Court, civil work, divorce and family matters still remain, though
there is a separate Family Court which was introduced in April 2014. Next is the court of Appeal,
followed by the Supreme Court. (i.b.i.d).
Question One:
Before a trial or case management begins, a case must first be allocated to one of the three tracks;
small claims, fast track or multi track. This will determine the future conduct of proceedings. In
order to determine which track would be the most appropriate the court gives questionnaires to each
party. The answers to the questionnaires will help to determine in which track the case would be
dealt with best.
If Harriet were to claim a value of ВЈ10,000 or less then this would be the small claims track. In
this procedure she would be advised to contact an experienced adviser, such as a Citizens Advice
Bureau, usually one close to her. In the outcome of most cases the court would not order for the

Martin Luther wanted to reform the catholic church, he was not planning on creating his own

the Catholic church. Learning of this bothered me the most. Martin Luther came up with 95
complaints, called the 95 theses. These complaints were flaws that Martin Luther noticed in the

I was raised in the Catholic Church for seventeen years and now I hear of the truth of the

They seem to fit the norms. However, in private, their couple is really different. Ellen actually
never managed to have a sexual relationship with her husband. She simply could not bear it, since
her, the sexual act is a brutal experience incompatible with marriage. And against all expectations,
her husband understood her refusal by accepting her love (p.459)[1]. This acceptance of lack of
sexual intimacy is really unusual in the nineteenth century; it was a woman s duty to make love
with her husband even though she was not supposed to enjoy it. Most men probably expected
their wives to do their duty, and would not endure any privation of that kind. Ash seems to live

it should not be forgotten that at that time any other alternative would have been unacceptable in

In Where Have All the Exploiters Gone? Co Management of the Maine Lobster Industry , author
James M. Acheson validates Garret Hardin s logic in Tragedy of the Commons that property rights
do in fact help conserve resources. Acheson also refutes basic principles set forth by Hardin that
users of open access resources have no vested interest in preserving resources over the long term
and are unable to generate regulating mechanisms.

The fisherman strongly believed that the notching process during culling, which made the sexually
proven females off limits and illegal to harvest in the future, helped in the conservation efforts and
ensured those proven breeding females would be returned to the waters. There they would be
legally protected to continue breeding without danger of being harvested in the future. Studies
validated the local fishermen s theory that females in the population showing spawned eggs were
statistically more likely to breed again and consequently would increase the egg stock in the waters
and health of the lobster populations. The Department of Marine Resources felt that the notching of
the females created conditions for infection of the females at the notch location. However, the
Department yielded at the insistence of the fishermen. There was evidence provided that the
practice was in fact helping the conservation effort. In addition, there was much discussion between
the groups of the effectiveness of conservation efforts such as minimum harvest size, trap limits,
licenses and escape vents on traps. The lobster fishermen actively participated in the decision
making process and worked through their own lobbying efforts to guide and shape legislation for
the Maine lobster industry that both reflected their own conservation

White People And Native Americans
During history, white settlers and the U.S. government did not always have the best of
relationships. Many wars were fought, and many lives were lost from both sites. The U.S.
government and white settlers has had negative attitudes toward the Native Americans. Native
Americans were not seen as equal to white people, so white settlers and U.S. government did not
treat them fairly. The United Statesgovernment also tried assimilation as a solution to their Native
American problem.
The relationship of the Americans and the Native Americans at the beginning were rocky. Many
Americans thought that they had a God given right to spread their culture to the whole world.
Native Americans would receive negative effects from this idea of many Americans had. Native
Americans had a very different culture to Americans, this made the Americans think Native
Americans were not civilized and that they were savages. It also didn t help that during the gold
rush, a way to get to the goldfield of California (459) and many places with gold was to get
through the land of Native Americans. That adds another factor to the equation of reasons to
oppress the Native Americans. So the theories of racial superiority (459) of many Americans and
the land Native Americans had that white settlers feel like they should own, is a recipe for the
growing tensions of the United States government with the Native Americans. This would soon
lead with many wars between the two sides.

The Importance Of The Dreyfus Affair
Throughout history, journalism has impacted in both the history and the politics of a country. In
1894, a man named Alfred Dreyfus, who was a Jewish military officer in the French army, was
used as a scapegoat by being wrongfully accused of sharing French military defense secrets to
Germany. Alfred Dreyfus is importance lies in the strong antisemitismmovement in France that
erupted after (Fischel 119). The Affair began in September 1894 when The French Army
Intelligence Bureau intercepted a letter supposedly written by Alfred Dreyfus. Alfred Dreyfus was
court martialed for treason and revealing military secrets to the Germans in his letter. This false
accusation was easily accomplished given the antisemitism of the time, combined with the... Show

Like many innocent people, the letters from Alfred are filled with the questions on the verdict and
claims of innocence. He used these questions once sentenced to restore his honor by acquittal.
These positive thoughts of acquittal prevented his suicide on Devil s Island (Dreyfus 138).
Although Alfred Dreyfus was not directly advocating for political, economic, cultural, social, or
military change, his attempts to advocate for his innocence led to a political and cultural divide in
France. The Dreyfus Affairwas a main cause of the tremendous unrest in France. It unleased a
strong anti Semitism movement in France because of a perceived failure of the justice system
(Fischel 119). It deeply divided France in politics, religion, and national identity. The acquittal of
Alfred Dreyfus gave justice to him and marked a turning point in history, in which it was a
magnificent step forward in an era of progress for ideas of liberty, of justice, and of social solidarity
(Dreyfus 241).
Although Alfred Dreyfus was not directly advocating for political, economic, cultural, social, or
military change, the primary source, an open letter by Emile Zola J accuse advocated for these

Capital Markets And Strategic Issues Essay
Capital Markets and Strategic Issues in Fund Raising A Answer Role of VCs in the company VC
is a type of private equity also a financing provided by firms to nascent stage, emerging firms that
are promising, show high growth potential (in terms of number of employees, annual revenue, or
both). VC firms invest in these mentioned companies in exchange of ownership stake. VCs take
on the risk of financing risky start ups thinking that some of the firms will be successful who they
pursue. Start ups are usually based on an innovative technology/business model and they are
usually from the high technology industries, such as information technology (IT), social media or
biotechnology. In exchange for high risk that venture capitalists assume by investing in smaller
/startup companies, VCs usually get significant control over company s management decisions,
with companies ownership and value. Obtaining VC is different from raising a loan. Lenders
have a legal right to interest payment of the principal irrespective of the business success/failure.
VC is invested for an equity stake in the business. The return of the VC as a shareholder depends
on business growth /profit. Return is earned when the venture capitalist exits . VCs are selective in
deciding where to invest in; as a result, firms are looking for the extremely rare yet sought after
qualities such as innovative technology, potential for rapid growth, a well developed business
model and an impressive management team. Of

Most Likely Diagnosis Essay
Most Likely Diagnosis
The first most likely diagnosis would be acute gastroenteritis. According to Aftab and Churgay
(2012), the patient has acute gastroenteritis is often defined as the onset of diarrhea in the
absence of chronic disease, with or without abdominal pain, fever, nausea, or vomiting . This 18
month year old patient has had 6 episodes of diarrhea and 4 episodes of vomiting per day that
occurred for two days. The patient also has no history of having a chronic disease.
Confirm Diagnosis
To begin, there would be several different ways to diagnosis acute gastroenteritis. Aftab and
Churgay (2012) discuss how they would define diarrhea as having three or more water or loose
stools in a 24 hour period, which is seen in this patient. Then the diarrhea would be
noninflammatory due to it not having any blood or mucus in it along with having no fever present.
Aftab and Churgay (2012) would include history such as how often the child is urinating and
having bowel movements, whether vomiting is interfering with the child s ability to keep down
fluids and solid food, the duration of illness, the nature of the stools (e.g., whether ... Show more

According to Hockenberry, Rodgers, and Wilson (2017), the possible cause of this is prolong
and repetitive contact with some kind of irritant. In this case, it would be the six episodes of
diarrhea in the last two days. The biggest signs is eruptions in the convex surfaces of buttocks,
inner thighs, mons pubis, and scrotum, which is seen on the picture. Interventions focus on
reducing wetness, pH, and fecal irritants. How this is accomplished is by keeping the skin dry,
applying ointment, and avoiding over washing the skin. Keeping the skin dry by using
superabsorbent diapers, chaing diapers as soon as they are soiled, and exposing the body to the air
to dry completely. Ointment that can be applied is zinc oxide or petrolatum. (Hockenberry,

Cultural Memory, The Mgr Murder Trial
Cultural Memory and the Sri Lankan Civil War in Shobaskthi s short story, The MGR Murder Trial
By
Dr Preetha Vasan .
Abstract : This paper looks at the intersection of cultural memory, war and literary narrative in
the specific context of the civil wars that raged Sri Lanka. It would consider the dynamics of
cultural memory of an ethnic minority group during a civil war. To achieve this , the paper would
attempt a close study of Shobasakthi , the Tamil Eelam writer s titular short story The MGR
Murder Trial from his short story anthology. The use of a popular cultural icon is deliberate in the
story. The paper would consider the symbolism of this usage and thereby arrive at the author s
response to the civil war Assmann and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
War has many fall outs. Like the Nigerian poet John Pepper Clark Bekederemo states The
casualties are not only those who are dead . Literary writings have represented many facets of
war ranging from the great epics like The Mahabharatha to our postcolonial postmodern writings
on terrorism, genocide and exile. In order to understand the context of the narrative of
Shobasakthi s story , it is necessary to briefly consider the many trajectories of the Sri Lankan
civil war. Sometimes called the pearl of the Indian Ocean, meaning resplendent in Sinhala, once
described by travellers as a paradise and named by Arab seafarers as Serendib, Sri Lanka was what
an Eighteenth Century writer had in mind when he coined the word serendipity .However the
nation s gruesome and protracted civil wars have reduced these myriad nomenclatures to the
poignant Tear drop in the Indian Ocean. In the Sri Lankan context multiple historicisations, various
narratives of the same history occur since the nation is marked by a diversity of ethnic, religious
and linguistic identities. These include Sinhalese, Sri Lankan Tamils, Indian Tamils, Muslim
moors, Tamil Christians, and the Eurasian Burghers. Historians, political science scholars
Richardson, Stokke and others have located different reasons for the civil strife in Sri Lanka to
understand why and how simmering ethnic differences escalated into a full scale insurgency

Boss s Poem The World Is In Pencil

ENGL 102 75A
December 8, 2014
Three Years of Permanent Ink I struggle with opening up my emotions when reading a story or
poem. I stay bottled up because if I feel something for it, it just makes me think of a time when I
felt worthless. The poem The World Is in Pencil, by Todd Boss opened me up and allowed me to
feel vulnerable. Its length is only sixteen short lines, but those lines mean a great deal. This poem
is about being in control of your life and symbolically writing your life in pencil, so that nothing is
ever permanent. The pencil stands for the control you have over your life and the ability to write
your own existence. There were a few years of my life where I didn t make my own decisions and I

I often felt that I would never be in control because they almost completely broke me as a human
being. My spirit was crushed. The part that kept me going was graduation. Graduation day was one
of the happiest days of my life because despite everyone s criticism, I eventually achieved
something I wanted. I got to walk the stage with my friends and receive my diploma. When I shook
the hand of the Board of Education President, I felt freedom. I looked down at the people who
terrorized me and I smiled. Not only did I receive a diploma that day, but I received a pencil, the
most freeing utensil I ever held. Todd Boss says it best in his poem by saying, I ll bet it felt good in
the hand the o of the ocean, and the and and the and of the land (12 16). Boss is saying that when
we write our lives and worlds out in pencil, we are free to explore vast areas and open ranges of

A major strength of this assessment is that this assessment has a Nonverbal Index. This is beneficial
for students who are not yet proficient in the English language or struggle with language.
Administering the Nonverbal Index allows the administrator to gain a better understanding of the
child s abilities because their language issues are not working against them with this test. Also, this
assessment has two theories of intelligence that can be tested: the Luria neurological processing
theory and Cattell Horn Carroll (CHC) theory of intelligence. With the Luria Model, you will obtain
the Mental Processing Index of Learning Ability, Sequential Processing, Simultaneous Processing,
and Planning Ability. With the Cattell Horn Carroll model, you will obtain the Fluid Crystallized
Index with the areas of long term storage and retrieval, short term memory, visual processing, fluid
reasoning, and crystallized ability. This assessment is also more child friendly because of the
visuals throughout the test. A weakness of this assessment is the administrator will not be able to
obtain a score for auditory processing and processing speed with this assessment, requiring the
administrator to utilize another intelligence assessment. This assessment has two intelligence
theories options to choose from: the Luria

The History And Forms Of Roman Art And Architecture
Introduction
The Romans wanted their art and architecture to be useful. So, they planned their cities; built
structures such as bridges, public baths, marketplaces, apartment houses and harbors. When a
Roman official ordered sculpture for a public square, he had a purpose that it should tell the future
generations about the greatness of Rome.
Rome also is also known for it s unique cultural achievements which include the invention of the
dome and the developments of groin wall and concrete and European wide network of roads and
bridges.
Origin Association with the Greek
Rome was initially ruled by Etruscan kings who possessed a variety of Etruscan Art for their
tombs. It was also used to decorate their palaces by showing the victories in military. Upon
founding the Roman Republic in 500 BCE, the Etruscan influence in art declined and with the
interaction between Romans and Greeks, they fell into the influence of Greek art. This process was

Forms of Roman Art
1.Architecture
Architectural design was one of the greatest contribution made by Rome in the history of art.
During the age of Emperor Trajan (98 117 CE) and Emperor Hadrian (117 138 CE) Rome reached
to the peak of its architectural grandeur which was attained through construction of several
buildings like monuments, baths, canals, palaces, temples and mausoleums.
Domes Arches
In the age of the Republic, Roman architecture discovered the curved arch and round temple.
However, they didn t invent the arch. It was used in Greek architecture and wasn t well known.
Romans were the first to master the use of multiple arches or vaults. After the turn of the
millennium, Roman architects developed several tactical techniques for urban building on massive

The Development Of Gifted Education
Historical roots School students involvement in research projects is a new demand of 21st century
due to some factors: globalization trend, development of human capital, implementation of the
reform on the support and development of schools for gifted students and the poor results of
Kazakhstani students in PISA. Since this paper is focused on research projects in the framework of
gifted education, it is essential to determine the concepts of children as researchers and gifted
educationby answering the question What and then, discuss the reasons of Why . The historical
roots of the concept of children as researchers started being popular because of the change of
children s status in society ( Hallet and Prout 2003; Alderson and Morrow, 2004). The United
Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC, 1989) designated children as social
actors in their own rights. Specifically, children should be enlightened and engaged about all
solutions that influence their lives (as cited in Kellett, 2005, p.4). According to some scholars
(Kirby and Bryson, 2002; Johnson et al., 1998), since that time the growth of children as
participants as well as co researchers is apparently seen. Initially, children were involved in some
data collections, thus most of research projects are still being manipulated by adults and children
are not considered as potential partners (Kellett, 2005, p.5). Nevertheless, the definition of

Lake s Assertion Of Religious Conflict
Lake s assertion that religious conflict in early Stuart England was the result of a pursuit of
traditional conformity by the Puritans holds true to a large extent. In the earlier half of the 17th
Century, the Puritans have consistently sought for reforms to make changes to the English Church,
with an unfaltering insistence of removing any perceived popish practices to create church in the
model of a more traditional Calvinism. He should not, however, go as far as to proclaim that there
was no rise of Arminianismas there was indeed an ostensible influx of Arminianism during the
reign of Charles I. Arminianism did burgeoned steadily, especially under the quasi Catholic
policies of Charles I and innovations that William Laud brought to the Church. However, with or
without the antagonistic ideological differences of Arminianism and Calvinism, there was always
the constant seeking of reforms by the Puritans, to move as far away from Catholicism as
possible. The introduction of Arminianism merely created a politically assertive Puritanism . The
fear that Arminian practices would force the English Church towards a more Catholic liked system
invoked fear amongst the Puritans resulting in a call for more sweeping changes . The Puritans
wanted change before any major form of Arminianism took shape and with the latter s increasing
influence from the 1620s, puritans simply became more aggressive in seeking reforms. The
accession of James I in 1603 saw the Millenary

Difference Between Modern And Modern Civilization
The most important aspect of society organization is civilization. Civilization in which we live
today has been developing over the decades from ancient world through medieval times until the
modern world. Without a doubt, some heritage came from the past as customs and traditions.
However, more importantly that modern world differ in many ways with both ancient and medieval
times. People can see the differences and similarities between these times by reading relevant texts
of that particular time. Every single time period had alike understanding of what is good and what
is bed, how the God looks like, how people should chose and respect their leader and each other.
Different times have alike understandings of family structure, behavior, or humanities. Therefore,
organization of society, that forms civilization itself, was varying from ancient world until
nowadays, developing constantly. Considering organization of society as an evolving model of
civilization, it would include such subunits as religion, law and justice, arts along with literature
and music, politics, manners, and ethics. Moreover, looking on world development at each period
of time out of three, it becomes clear that every unit like law or religion has been changing
persistently. Thus, all of the units were at variance from cultureto culture. For example, in one
culture religion was over the law, while in other culture it was opposite. People can argue forever on
what was the most significant unit that

Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain
Acid rain, simply put, is a mixture of rainwater and a few specific chemicals that are emitted both
naturally and non naturally. The process occurs in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, the
troposphere. When compounds such as sulfuric dioxide(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NO, NO2), are
transported to this layer and react with the other parts of the troposphere(water, oxygen, carbon
dioxide). Acid rain was first discovered in Sweden in 1872, but has been seen as a more prevalent
problem in modern times. Although research had been conducted for many years on acid rain, it
did not become an issue for society until around the 1980 s. Acid rain s effects were vast, harming
natural environments, architecture, and even the public s health. Regulation of chemical emissions
have lessened the threat of acid rain, yet it remains a problem to this day. A
As previously mentioned, acid rain is caused by the mixture of chemical emissions with the
elements of the troposphere. It s very important to note that water has a natural acidity, it s the
excess of oxides that cause the problem. But how did those emissions and oxides make it there?
Naturally, compounds like carbon dioxide(CO2), nitric oxide(NO), and sulfur dioxide(SO2), are
released through just a few processes: decomposition of organic matter, electric discharge(reactions
with lightning and the ozone), as well as release of gasses in volcanic eruptions. However, these
only contribute to the natural acidity of water. Human

Noblest Character In Julius Caesar
I think the noblest character is Antony himself. He always supported Cesar even if it did not
seem like it. He took the side of the murders to survive but never forgot what they had done. An
example of this is at Cesar s funeral he speaks up against Brutus and everyone else because he
was smart he knew everyone there was a supporter of him and Cesar. H was very well with
words he managed to turn supporters of the murders against them and he was very ambitious
because he didn t let anyone else in on it besides octaves. The main reason Antony is the noblest
in my book is he had respect for Brutus even though he killed his friend because he understood that
a man is noble to fight for what he believes in. Those are the reasons that I chose

Federal Budget Dbq
The Preamble and Federal Budget: Are we slicing the pie correctly? The federal budget is the
yearly plan for how the US government will spend the money it takes from taxes and borrowing.
After thoroughly analyzing the federal budget from 2012, it is unquestionably evident that a
majority of the money is being put into a few major categories, leaving room for the rest of the
smaller categories to be financially neglected. Is this fair? It seems that the money could be more
fairly distributed, and that there is room for cuts in some of the larger categories, to improve the
littler ones. In each of the three budget clusters, the US Government should make adjustments in the
way it is distributing money; changes involving the big five, the middle... Show more content on

This category includes: Natural Resources and Environment, NASA, Energy, FBI, and National
Park Service. National resources and environment, energy, and the FBI all play a vast role in
supporting the nation s preamble by ensuring the general welfare of the people and providing
common defense. That leaves NASA and the National Park Service, and seeing as the national
park service receives the smallest amount out of all the categories as is, it seems illogical that
any money be taken from there. It is rather alarming; however, that NASA is receiving the
second largest amount of money of the five in the little guys. As cool as NASA is, it isn t a
necessity for the country, and the money could probably be way better spent. The changes I would
make to the little guys would be to cut NASA s budget and either give the money to the FBI or the

Vitamin D plays an integral role in multiple systems in...
Vitamin D plays an integral role in multiple systems in the human body, from its function in
Calcium and Phosphorus metabolism, to modulation of the immune and reducing the risk of
cardiovascular diseases (Grober et al. 2013). Unfortunately, factors such as diet, geographic
position, and skin pigmentation are contributing to an increase of prevalence of Vitamin D
deficiency around the world, consequently leading to a higher rate of associated illnesses.
Namely, Cardiovascular Diseases such as Coronary Artery Disease (CAD), Hypertensive Vascular
Disease, and Myocardial Infarction have been shown to be more common in people with lower
levels of Vitamin D in their system (Lavie, Lee Milani 2011).

2013).Calcitriol inhibits the production of the Parathyroid Hormone (PTH) a hormone which plays
a role in stimulating Calcitriol synthesis in the kidneys (Zittermann 2006). Calcidiol and Calcitriol
are both catabolised to inactive metabolites to also regulate the amount of 1,2(OH)2D (Reid
Bolland 2012).
During Vitamin D deficiency, PTH still attempts to maintain a relatively similar concentration of
Calcitriol compared to original levels, which would require an increase in PTH (Grober et al.
2013). Hence, the better indicator of Vitamin D status and deficiency is Calcidiol (Zittermann 2006).

The Importance of Stress Management Essay
The Importance of Stress Management
Stress today can be described as that which disturbs a person s mental and physical well being
(Morrison 1). Common symptoms of stress include chronic fatigue, changes in appetite, drug and
/or alcohol abuse, difficulty sleeping, body aches, and changes in emotions (Cooper 1 2). And
although stress is something that is inevitable, it can be controlled. Just about everything we do
today creates stress, both good and bad. In the face paced and technological world we live in, stress
management is key to survival as well as sanity.
Stress can be caused from numerous things for example, a death in the family, divorce, or loss of a
job. But stress is also attributed to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stress is not only affecting individuals, but also affects how are businesses function and how our
society operates (Morrison 1).
Stress can cause many things that affect a healthy body. Stress causes quick yet shallow
breathing in which case, the body s cells are being deprived of oxygen. Stress will increase
cholesterol levels and can also cause indigestion, heartburn, a decreased sex drive, and also
arteriosclerosis (the hardening of the arteries). While these symptoms may seem minimal, stress
can decrease the activity of white blood cells. Since the white blood cells fight off sicknesses and
diseases, the immune system is affected by stress and can make the body more susceptible to
colds, viruses, flues, and diseases (Morrison 2).
Stress can affect all aspects of one s mind and body. Behaviorally, stress can cause anger, excessive
crying, depression, apprehension, increased alcohol use, mood swings, and even suicide. It can
cause problems physically as well. Anorexia, fatigue, trembling, loss of appetite, and headaches are
just a few of the symptoms that overly stressed individuals may experience (Morrison 2).
It is critical to understand important stress management skills. If stress is not dealt with, it can result
in a burnout, or perhaps worse, People who experience high levels of anxiety are four to five times
more likely to die of a heart attack or stroke (Morrison

The Jamestown massacre was a huge mass suicide in the United States. The people involved were
in the religious group, led by Jim Jones. Jims Jones was a charismatic leader. This man was very
influential and knew how to persuasive people. His following grew and that made his religious
movement grow. Jim Joneswas a strong leader and a charismatic leader. A charismatic leader is a
person that is a hero to others. They have great leadershipskills and have a persona that stands out
from others. A charismatic leader can be good or evil. The frightening part is that they can earn a
following quickly because of their persona.
Charisma is just a trait and means to have a vibrant persona. The difference between a charismatic
leader and a normal leader is that a charismatic leader is more charming and is usually more
persuasive than a regular leader.
Jim Jones gave the people what they wanted to hear. He would help them try and find their better
self. That is why he had such a rapid following. Many at the moment thought that the government
were not taking care of them so he made them felt like they were going to be take care of. Also
he made them feel like they had a community that they were not alone. He would manipulate
people by using jesus name. That jesus wanted them to be a certain way or do certain things. His
followers are usually vunerable people. Like for example people with addictions and the elderly. He

How Has Physical Theatre Changed Over Time Essay
How has physical theatre developed over time?
Physical theatre is a form of performance where movement and physicality of the body has the
main part within a performance. There are several quite distinct traditions of performance which all
describe themselves using the term physical theatre , which has led to a lot of confusion as to what
the definition of physical theatre actually is. The term physical theatre has been applied to
performances consisting mainly of mime, contemporary dance, theatrical clowning and other
physical comedy (such as slapstick), puppetry and mask work and theatrical acrobatics and lifts.
One of the early practitioners of physical theatre was Artaud. His ideas included total theatre,

The development of English pantomime was strongly influenced by commedia dell arte. This was
a comedy of professional artists travelling from province to province in Italy and then France, who
improvised and told comic stories that held lessons for the crowd, changing the main character
depending on where they were performing. Pantomime mainly incorperated song, dance,
buffoonery, slapstick, cross dressing, in jokes, topical references, audience participation, and mild
sexual innuendo. The general movement within Pantomime creates physical theatre as the storyline
is presented to the audience mainly through lifts, dance and slapstick, although performers also use
their voice throughout.
The Theatre of the Absurd is the name for particular plays of absurdist fiction written by a
number of primarily European playwrights in the late 1950s, as well as one for the style of
theatre which has evolved from their work. Their work expressed what happens when human
existence has no meaning or purpose and therefore all communication breaks down, alerting their
audiences to pursue the opposite. The Absurd in these plays takes the form of man s reaction to a
world apparently without meaning, and/or man as a puppet controlled or menaced by invisible
outside forces. Theatre of the Absurd consisted of horrific or tragic images; characters caught in

Persuasive Essay On Drinking In College
Miley Cyrus sings, Red cups and sweaty bodies everywhere, hands in the air like we don t care,
cause we came to have so much fun now. (as cited in Davis et al, 2013). As such an influential
role model for many college students, Miley promotes carless drinking in her hit song We Can t
Stop . The rates of students who drink in college are very high and are leading to further
problems. As found on College Drinking Prevention.gov, According to the 2015 NSDUH, 58.0
percent of full time college students ages 18 22 drank alcohol in the past month compared with
48.2 percent of other persons of the same age (par. 1). College drinking in the United Statesis
leading to an increase in alcohol related deaths, suicides, and academic issues. To decrease the rate
of unhealthy college drinking in the United States, the legal drinking ageshould either be lowered,
or the professors in the colleges and universities should make their students workloads heavier.
Unhealthy and irresponsible drinking taking place by college students is causing further issues in
their lives. According to the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism
, the use of alcohol
in a campus setting is a ritual that the students consider an initiation to the start of their college
careers. (par. 2). College drinking leads to other health and social problems including deaths,
suicides, academic issues, drug use. Studies by the National Council on Alcoholism and Drug
Dependence (2015) show that each year, more than 600,000 students between the ages of 18 and
24 are assaulted by another student who has been drinking, 95% of all violent crime on college
campuses involves the use of alcohol by the assailant, victim or both, and 90% of acquaintance
rape and sexual assault on college campuses involves the use of alcohol by the assailant, victim or
both. (Par. 16). College students, especially the ones consuming alcohol, are the main stakeholders
in this situation. Whether they are participating in the use of alcohol or not, it still affects them
one way or another. Friends and family members are affected because if something happens to
their loved one using alcohol they will be directly affected. Possible outcomes of careless drinking

National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) launched two similar twin robotic rovers
which were Spirit and Opportunity toward Mars on 10 June and 7 July 2003 (NASA 2012). Spirit
and Opportunity landed in Gusev Crater on 4 January 2004 and in Meridiani Planum on 25
January 2004 respectively (NASA2012). Opportunity is still operating and roving after 10 years
on the Martian surface while final communication of Spirit to the Earth took place on 22 March
2010, which is around six years into its mission (NASA 2012). The rovers were thought to last 20
times longer as compared to its original design. As part of NASA s MarsExploration Program, the
Mars Exploration Rovermission is a continuous multi mission effort to study Mars as a possible
habitation for past or present life and to look for signs of life as well as to prepare for human
exploration. Primary objective of the Mars Exploration Rover mission is to explore and
characterize a wide range of soils and rocks that possess clues or evidences to past water activity on
Mars (NASA 2012).
It is hard to get to Mars and it is even harder to land on Mars, thus Spirit and Opportunity had to
overcome numerous challenges in order to land on Mars and to carry out their missions. These
two rovers were required to fly through approximately 483 million kilometers of deep space and a
very precise landing spot had to be targeted (Jet Propulsion Laboratory 2011). Although their flight
paths can be adjusted along the way,

Why Is Lacrosse Important
Lacrosse
Got your help!!!!!! That s what lacrosse players say the majority of the time when playing
lacrosse. They say this when they are open for a pass or want the ball. The sport of lacrosse
should be in the olympics. To support my position I will Give you a description of the game, the
popularity of the game and finally a counterarguement that I will fight.
In this paragraph I will give you a desription of the game of lacrosse. First according to the article
named lacrosse the sport is played on a field 60 70 yards x 110 yards. This proves useful because
it means it can be played on a soccer field that is already made. All you would have to do would
be to add 5 yard extensions to each end of the field. The next reason is based on the time length
of the game. According to the article titled NCAA Rules for Men s Lacrosse there is four 15
minute quarters and a 10 minute halftime with 2 minutes in between every quarter. It also has a
overtime of 4 minutes but can go on longer if there is still a tie. That means it has a total time of 78
minutes including everything except the time after the overtime. That is shorter than a soccer game
in the olympics. So basically it would nt take up much time. ... Show more content on

The Tragedy Of Vladimir Lenin And The Rise Of Joseph Stalin
Some of the most tragic moments in Russian history occurred during the tumultuous period
between the death of Vladimir Lenin and the rise of Joseph Stalin during the 1930s. This was a
time of massive devastation during which almost 5 million peasants died of starvation due to the
failures of collective farming. Thousands of men and women were also falsely accused of anti
patriotism and sent to Siberian labor camps in which they experienced rampant disease, physical
and emotional abuse, and often execution. Vasily Grossman endeavors to discern who is to blame
for these injustices through his novel Everything Flows . Grossman s main character, Ivan, has just
been released from almost a thirty year imprisonment following the death of Stalin. Through Ivan s
recollections of camp life and assimilation into Post Stalinist Russia, Grossman reveals the forces
he believes are at fault. However, his understanding of this guilt is far more complex as revealed
through the means by which he evaluates the culpable factors. Grossman uses a method of
assessment similar to a bottom up analysis by beginning with the individual elements of the
Communist Party and progressing to a larger holistic view of Russian civilization. This method
allows for multiple factors to bear some of the blame without undue bias holding one entirely
accountable. Thus, Grossman is arguing that the slave identity embedded in Russian history was
responsible for the development of certain characteristics in Lenin s

Understanding Polycystic Kidney Disease Is A Health Condition
Topic: Understanding Polycystic Kidney Disease Jess C Brandt

Understanding Polycystic Kidney Disease Polycystic Kidney Disease is a health condition that
primarily involves the kidneys, and it is genetic. It is distinguished by the growth of multiple cysts
in these organs that ultimately slowly impair the normal kidney function. These cysts are non
cancerous circular sacs that contain a fluid like substance and have the ability to increase in size
as more fluid is accumulated. While the condition mostly affects the kidneys, it is not uncommon
for the cysts to grow in other body parts, for example, the liver. This disease poses serious
complications that can be fatal. The primary cause of this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

In rare cases, the disease may be due to a gene mutation that happens spontaneously. So as to
diagnose this disease, the doctors may use several tests to determine the quantity and size of the
cysts. These tests are also used to identify the number of healthy kidney tissues that an individual
has. The most commonly used tests is the ultrasound scans where a transducer is placed on the
body and is used to emit muffled sound waves that a computer translates into a picture of the
kidneys. A second test are the computerized tomography scan that utilizes thin x ray beams to
allow the doctor view a cross sectional image of each kidney. The third medical test that can be
carried out is magnetic resonance imaging where a cross sectional view of the organs is projected
using magnetic fields. Once diagnosed, the management of polycystic kidney disease entails the
medical handling of the symptoms from an early stage. Achieving this thus calls for the regulation
of blood pressure using angiotensin converting enzyme drugs so as to stop further degradation of
the kidneys. Painkillers are also used to control the pain, and antibiotics used to cure any kidney
and bladder infections. In severe cases where the cysts inhibit the functioning of the kidneys,
kidney dialysis is done. If the disease is unmanaged, it causes several complications that can be
fatal. One of those is hypertension, which, if not

  • 2. Noels Article Summary Noels article, talks about the comparison of the Haudenosaunee to the Anglo Americans, as well as the Dutch and the French women to the Anglo Americans women. His main points were about the power that is behind their voices, when it came to political and economic opinions. Noel article main thesis states that these entrepreneurs were accepted figures among the Dutch and French of North America a minority to be sure, but not an insignificant one. In vastly larger numbers, ordinary women traded their produces and handiwork at local markets . • 3. Nt1110 Memory Lab Report In computer organization and architecture, memory is the most important part of a computer. Every computer must have its own memory. Memory represents two stable or semi stable states that are representing 1 and 0. It is capable of being written to at least once and read multiple times. In this lab, we will learn briefly on two parts of memory only, which are RAM and ROM. As we know that a memory can either be non volatile (as seen in a read only memory) or volatile (used in random access memory). There are several types of semiconductor memory, such as Random Access Memory (RAM), Read Only Memory (ROM), Programmable Read Only Memory (PROM), Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EPROM), Electronically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (EEPROM) and Flash Memory. There are many types of RAM, such as Static RAM (SRAM), Dynamic RAM (DRAM), Synchronous DRAM (SDRAM) and Double Data Rate SDRAM (DDR SDRAM). In order to catch up with the increasing speed of processors, the RAM is needed to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... ROM is a form of semiconductor that can be written to. It was used to store the programs called firmware that a computer executes when switched on. ROM is still used in systems with constant functionalities. PROM is similar to ROM but allows the users to write their own programs and data. However, it needs a special PROM writing equipment. For EPROM, we can erase the data of the chips and rewrite with new information. It is normally used to store the boot program of a computer (firmware), which is known as Basic I/O System (BIOS). EEPROM supports updates to individual bytes whereas EPROM updates the whole memory. FLASH memory is a cheaper type of EEPROM where updates can only be carried out on the blocks of memory but not on individual bytes. It is found in USB sticks, flash cards and typically range from 1 GB to 32 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How Did the Consolidation of the British Empire and Its... 1. Introduction I assume that the time period to focus predominantly on in answering this question is the circa fifteen years from when Britain in 1760 emerged victorious from the French and Indian War, and up to the events of the early 1770s that in the end led to the decisions at the Continental Congress in 1774; skirmishes between colonial minutemen and British troops in early 1775; and the declaration of independence in 1776. However, I would contend that throughout the gradual colonial expansion of the English and later (from 1707) British Empire at least up until the era discussed here there was a fluctuation between more or less centralized control, and more or less efforts to centralize control, on behalf of either Crown or... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Further, the relative power of the British compared with other nations was never decisive, and other colonial powers were interested both in challenging British claims, and in opening their exploits further into unchartered territories to especially the west and north west of the British territory. To avoid new alliances between Indian nations and competing European states, and generally to avoid further aggravating the most influential of the Indian nations west of the Appalachian mountain range, a proclamation line was made, forbidding further westward expansion by the colonial settlers, and securing Indian claims to the land west of the mountains. And third, the continuing economic and political power struggle between European powers at the time, especially between France and Britain and their respective allies, was also costly, and in part sought financed by the colonies. 4. Effects on the American colonist s way of life The effects on the colonies of these policies were manifold. First, a ban on further expansion aggravated the colonials, especially the ones who had ventured to a continent they thought of as having an unlimited access to land and opportunity. Moreover, to maintain territorial control, the British left troops in the colonies; these were perceived by the colonials as something akin to a standing army, and thus a threat to their independence. Second, the introduction of several taxes, albeit never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Respect Of A Child In The South During The Late 1800 s Imagine a child in the south, during the late 1800 s. There was certain manners and values that a child would have been raised with. One of the most important of these values was to respect one s elders. A child raised in these values would listen to an adult and think that they re right no matter the circumstance because they are older. Also, a child would have been raised to accept certain social injustices like slavery. This was mainly because the adults said it was alright. Mark Twain wanted people to realize the immorality of society during the 1800s. Mark Twain first shows this with the Widow Douglas and Ms. Watson. According to Appendix E, the market value of equity is $484,185 million and the stock price is $1,183.04, while its intrinsic value of stock is $1,440.81. I choose the mean of TEV/EBITDA and the median of TEV/Revenue as multiples to estimate Google s stock price (Appendix F). By applying the mean value of TEV/EBITDA to find enterprise value, we can get a corresponding intrinsic value per share of $1,248.06. By applying the median value of TEV/Revenue, we get the corresponding intrinsic value per share of $1,231.04 (Appendix F). • 7. Why Did The Samurai Attack Dbq The sly and flexible samurai prepares to unleash his katana while opponent, the knight rides courteously on his horse ready to pull out his sword that lies within a compartment built in his armor. Who will win this deadly battle? The samurai, of course thanks to his agility as well as being ready to attack whenever threatened. This essay will discuss the advantages that the samurai has against the knight, if the two were to ever come in contact on the battlefield. One of the ways that Samurais have an advantage against knights is due to their armor. In document D, written by Terry Bennett, it says The helmet bowl (of a samurai) was made of 8 12 iron plates. The samurai very much needed this because it was said and proven to be true that a knight s sword could slice through one s head and only be stopped by the teeth of a human. Another piece of evidence that supports my claim is in document D as well. The text states Samurai did not wear armor on their right arm so they could easily draw their bow. The knight could ve possibly tried to strike at the samurai and due to the samurai s specialized training, they could easily dodge it. Another piece of evidence that supports my claim is found in document C1, as well. The text states In their schooling, they had physical training and learned poetry and spiritual discipline. • 9. Gatsby Essay- the Pursued, Pursuing Busy and Tired There are only the pursued, the pursuing, the busy and the tired To what extent does this sum up the novel? In The Great Gatsby , Fitzgerald made all his characters with four predominate behaviours; the pursued, the pursuing, the busy, and the tired . Some may fall under only one of these groups, where as the others may belong in all of them. This is not only a good summary of the novel but also of people s life in general during the 1920s. Throughout the novel, there are characters who are being chased after, and also individuals who has established that they are in pursuit, whether it is of wealth, love, a person or an ideal such as the American Dream . This is best represented by George, who spent his whole life in an effort to achieve success, however in the end was unable to do so. As result he is only left with a run down garage and living an exhausted life. When Myrtle, the love of George s life and probably the last thing holding him together was killed, George was left with nothing despair. For this George was determined to pursue for the avenge his wife and Gatsby became pursued for revenge. In the due course, George kills Gatsby and ends his own life as well. Moreover, even Tom who was achieve almost everything he desired, was eventually tired of his life, and decided to chase after Myrtle which made him busy once again. Thus, the pursued may be troubled at times, but for the most part it is the pursuing that suffers. In contrast to other characters, Nick seemed exempt from being either pursued or pursuing. Being the narrator of the novel, Nick is very voyeuristic and passive. Therefore instead of being caught up in everyone else s business, he was very analytical, which provided him with experience for good decision making. Change Leadership Essay Change Leadership: An Evaluation of Change in Cancer Care Treatment and Surveillance at the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care Services As a surgeon at the New Mexico Veterans Administration Health Care Services (NMVAHCS or VA), I witnessed and experienced many leadership styles by many leaders, during my tenure. One leader in particular, exhibits exceptional leadership skills which carried over to other areas of the facility as he ascended the administrative ladder to his current station, Chief of Staff. Additionally, we function on a daily basis, constantly monitored by metrics, one of which looks at wait times for initial consult appointments, and our system cannot differentiate between an initial visit and a follow up visit. So, some middle management person in primary care, took it upon themselves to make a unilateral decision to put patients on waiting lists. Many of these patients suffered from cancer. The nature of cancer requires clinical evaluation in a timely manner. The standard of care for cancer patients always cycle towards improving care in every way possible. While we currently deal with an archaic EMR for our scheduling, we remain tasked with caring for our Veterans in a timely fashion, in accordance with the standards set by cancer accrediting societies in the nation. In order to accomplish this, we need to maintain the ability to rise to the challenge of constant change. We also live fiscally limited by decreased funding and staffing to accomplish these steep goals. Our Change Leader Dr. Goff exhibited the skills of a leader long before he joined the NMVAHCS team. • 11. The Administration Of Civil Law The Administration of Civil Law In 1996 Lord Woolf reconstructed his review on Civil Justice which led to the Access to Justice Act 1999. There were a number of criticisms within the system and Lord Woolf s aim was to reduce cost, delay and complexity within the system and increase access to justice. (Elliot Quinn, 2015). There are currently 216 county courts that are solely concerned with civil work. Around 170 of them are divorce county courts and have jurisdiction to hear undefended divorce and adoption or guardianship cases. In the High Court, civil work, divorce and family matters still remain, though there is a separate Family Court which was introduced in April 2014. Next is the court of Appeal, followed by the Supreme Court. (i.b.i.d). Question One: Before a trial or case management begins, a case must first be allocated to one of the three tracks; small claims, fast track or multi track. This will determine the future conduct of proceedings. In order to determine which track would be the most appropriate the court gives questionnaires to each party. The answers to the questionnaires will help to determine in which track the case would be dealt with best. If Harriet were to claim a value of ВЈ10,000 or less then this would be the small claims track. In this procedure she would be advised to contact an experienced adviser, such as a Citizens Advice Bureau, usually one close to her. The Department of Marine Resources felt that the notching of the females created conditions for infection of the females at the notch location. • 36. Lake s Assertion Of Religious Conflict Lake s assertion that religious conflict in early Stuart England was the result of a pursuit of traditional conformity by the Puritans holds true to a large extent. In the earlier half of the 17th Century, the Puritans have consistently sought for reforms to make changes to the English Church, with an unfaltering insistence of removing any perceived popish practices to create church in the model of a more traditional Calvinism. He should not, however, go as far as to proclaim that there was no rise of Arminianismas there was indeed an ostensible influx of Arminianism during the reign of Charles I. Arminianism did burgeoned steadily, especially under the quasi Catholic policies of Charles I and innovations that William Laud brought to the Church. However, with or without the antagonistic ideological differences of Arminianism and Calvinism, there was always the constant seeking of reforms by the Puritans, to move as far away from Catholicism as possible. The introduction of Arminianism merely created a politically assertive Puritanism . The fear that Arminian practices would force the English Church towards a more Catholic liked system invoked fear amongst the Puritans resulting in a call for more sweeping changes . The Puritans wanted change before any major form of Arminianism took shape and with the latter s increasing influence from the 1620s, puritans simply became more aggressive in seeking reforms. Civilization in which we live today has been developing over the decades from ancient world through medieval times until the modern world. Without a doubt, some heritage came from the past as customs and traditions. However, more importantly that modern world differ in many ways with both ancient and medieval times. People can see the differences and similarities between these times by reading relevant texts of that particular time. Every single time period had alike understanding of what is good and what is bed, how the God looks like, how people should chose and respect their leader and each other. Different times have alike understandings of family structure, behavior, or humanities. Therefore, organization of society, that forms civilization itself, was varying from ancient world until nowadays, developing constantly. Considering organization of society as an evolving model of civilization, it would include such subunits as religion, law and justice, arts along with literature and music, politics, manners, and ethics. Moreover, looking on world development at each period of time out of three, it becomes clear that every unit like law or religion has been changing persistently. • 39. Environmental Effects Of Acid Rain Acid rain, simply put, is a mixture of rainwater and a few specific chemicals that are emitted both naturally and non naturally. The process occurs in the lowest layer of the atmosphere, the troposphere. When compounds such as sulfuric dioxide(SO2) and nitrogen oxides(NO, NO2), are transported to this layer and react with the other parts of the troposphere(water, oxygen, carbon dioxide). Acid rain was first discovered in Sweden in 1872, but has been seen as a more prevalent problem in modern times. Although research had been conducted for many years on acid rain, it did not become an issue for society until around the 1980 s. Acid rain s effects were vast, harming natural environments, architecture, and even the public s health. Regulation of chemical emissions have lessened the threat of acid rain, yet it remains a problem to this day. A As previously mentioned, acid rain is caused by the mixture of chemical emissions with the elements of the troposphere. It s very important to note that water has a natural acidity, it s the excess of oxides that cause the problem. But how did those emissions and oxides make it there? Naturally, compounds like carbon dioxide(CO2), nitric oxide(NO), and sulfur dioxide(SO2), are released through just a few processes: decomposition of organic matter, electric discharge(reactions with lightning and the ozone), as well as release of gasses in volcanic eruptions. However, these only contribute to the natural acidity of water. Human ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Tragedy Of Vladimir Lenin And The Rise Of Joseph Stalin Some of the most tragic moments in Russian history occurred during the tumultuous period between the death of Vladimir Lenin and the rise of Joseph Stalin during the 1930s. This was a time of massive devastation during which almost 5 million peasants died of starvation due to the failures of collective farming. Thousands of men and women were also falsely accused of anti patriotism and sent to Siberian labor camps in which they experienced rampant disease, physical and emotional abuse, and often execution. Vasily Grossman endeavors to discern who is to blame for these injustices through his novel Everything Flows . Grossman s main character, Ivan, has just been released from almost a thirty year imprisonment following the death of Stalin. Through Ivan s recollections of camp life and assimilation into Post Stalinist Russia, Grossman reveals the forces he believes are at fault. However, his understanding of this guilt is far more complex as revealed through the means by which he evaluates the culpable factors. Grossman uses a method of assessment similar to a bottom up analysis by beginning with the individual elements of the Communist Party and progressing to a larger holistic view of Russian civilization. This method allows for multiple factors to bear some of the blame without undue bias holding one entirely accountable.
