An Analysis Of Hitler s Operation Barbarossa
The wartime relationship between the Soviet Union and the United States, tenuously compromised
and founded upon the necessity of the immediate pragmatism instigated by Hitler s Operation
Barbarossa, was doomed to inevitably disintegrate once both parties ceased to confront a common
belligerent. There are two significant factors within the breakdown of United States Soviet relations
following World War II. First is the ideological incongruence within the communist capitalist
dichotomy. Evangelical in nature, both powers aspired toward the proliferation of their political model
(Class Lecture, Slide 2). Similarly, Stalin s narrative of the bourgeoisie s desire to undermine Soviet
progress only furthered the rift between the two systems ( Comrades , ... Show more content on

The first was the Yalta Conference. The Big 3 met at Yalta to frame the military strategy for the
remainder of the war in Europe, devise plans for post war occupation, continue the continue to build

Pacific theater (Judge Langdon, 22 25). However, Stalin viewed the outcome of the conference as a
significant advantage, and believed he had carte blanche not only to act as he pleased in Poland, but
also to advance as far to the west as possible while Germany collapsed in an effort to attain as much
territory as possible (Judge Langdon, 27). The final turning point was the American decision to
employ nuclear weapons in anger against a foe. The apocalyptic actions, regardless of intent specific
to World War II, expanded the scope of the American Soviet rivalry, while reducing the margin for
error (Judge Langdon,

Journey Through Slavery Summary
There have been many works in media and through novels describing slavery in Early America. Some
focused on gloomy tales of the Middle Passage others about life on the plantation, day by day. Roots
is a story and follows the life of Kunta Kinte from when he was born, to the abduction into slavery and
then his life on the plantation. When his life ended his story persevered through generations that
became rooster fighters to a foot soldier in the midst of a war. Through centuries, Kunta s lineage
leads to Alex Haley who is betrothed by his family s intriguing and certainly impressive history.
Therefore he wrote a book to share his discovery, which later developed into a mini series watched by
5.3 million people. My second documentary is an older one called Journey Through Slavery: Terrible

After overpopulation the Barbados Colony had to choose to expand into another territory due to an

of as much of a cash crop. Leading slaves coming from certain rice growing areas much more

Voltaire And Martin s Use Of Optimism In Candide
Candide, a novel based on its author s sardonic view of the philosophy rich 18th century Europe,
illustrates unwavering optimism. Ultimately, Voltaire only disputes living in the best of all possible
worlds when one does not go work in the garden, (Voltaire 144). He believes one has to work and put
forth effort in order for everything to be for the best.
Voltaire created Pangloss to be an optimistic and abstract philosopher that epitomizes the idle thinkers
of the time that he deemed utterly ridiculous; he despised philosophers arguing without understanding
the outside world. Pangloss s ceaseless preaching about everything being for the best keeps himself as
well as Candide from participating in the realm around them. For example, rather than saving the
Anabaptist s life, Candide prioritizes Pangloss s outlook on his death s convenience. It is proved, he
used to say, that things cannot be other than they are, for since everything was made for a purpose, it
follows that everything is made for the best purpose, (Voltaire 20). Thus, it is not until they leave the
castle that they learn anything different. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

time he goes to McDonalds is to use the bathroom he also mentioned that if you have to take your kids
there blind fold them something that might not sit too well with the American people . But his theory
and concept states that it s very hard to avoid Mcdonaldization because it has taken over the American
society and has become part of our life s simply what he calls the Iron Cage
(http://www.learningace.com) . Through his research which states that by simply neglecting the
variety and diversity of consumer practices in different regions and parts of the world and the various
uses to which consumers can put McDonaldization, using its products and procedures to serve their
own needs. There are many ways Mcdonaldization can be resisted in: social institution, education, the
economy, family, as well as religion and military that our society can reverse the effects on the way we
live. Take for instance the schools and classrooms across the world. In Virginia Beach the school
system are based on the SOL(Standards of Learning) testing that has taken control and prevents our
children from getting a good education, this is designed to solely grade the school on how many kids
move up to next level it is not the importance of teaching and educating. We as parents should be more

Diaspora By James Clifford Summary
In the article Diasporas , historian and anthropologist James Clifford explores the issues that can arise
when trying to concretely define diaspora, a traveling term, in changing global conditions . Clifford
explains, the concept of diaspora was used in the study of Jewish and later Greek and Armenian
displaced groups. However, since the 1950s it has been commonly evoked in reference to African
forced migration and is now used to describe a variety of peoples and relocation experiences. In
addition to diaspora , other terms are also being used quite heavily in discussions of the movement of
people, including border , and Clifford explores the differences and similarities between people living
in a state of border versus a state of diaspora while both suggest connections and multilocalities of
people borders implies a politically and geographically defined line, where as a diaspora connotates a
further distance of separation, and possibly a sense of exile. Clifford discuses these connections and ...

He especially focuses on the juxtaposition of diaspora against concepts of the nation state and on the
flip side, against ideas of indigenous people. He feels that the term diaspora is a signifier, not simply
of transnationality and movement, but of political struggles to define the local, as distinctive
community, in historical contexts of displacement . His examination of the use of diasporic language
in the context of tribal and indigenous people is especially interesting, since as he is clear to point out,
tribal cultures are not diasporas; their sense of rootedness in the land is precisely what diasporic
peoples have lost , however when the discussion is about indigenous peoples who have been
displaced, which is often the case, much of this language and framework used to discuss diasporas is

Kanye West, Matisyahu and Lupe Fiasco
In 21st century North America, there is a strange, seemingly unanimous idea that, to fit the norm, one
must be white, Christian and male. While, over the course of the latter 20th century and in the past
decade, this has changed, the norm is very much still Christian and male; African Americans now fit
into the All American stereotype, for the most part. However, there are, of course, outliers deviants
from the standard norm; these outliers make one wonder what the norm truly is, why it is so, how did
it get to be that way, and what the norm will be in the future. Kanye West s 2004 single titled Jesus
Walks is written as a ode to Jesus helping him and every other Christian through hard times in their
life. Sampling ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main theme of King Without a Crown is that, in order to truly worship God, people need to leave
their egos on the wayside and realize there is something better in life that can only be found with God.
While Jesus Walks was more of a persuasive song, attempting to turn atheists into Christians, this is
not seen in King Without a Crown. Matisyahu is only praising God; he says, without [God] there s no
me, you re the air that I breathe, for example. Matisyahu describes his relationship with God as one
that is like the relationship one has with food, for nourishment. He also says that he no longer has the
need for drugs, sinesemilla, for it would only bring [him] down. The most notable portion of the music
video is at the very end; Matisyahu is walking down a street and, as he turns around a corner, meets a
boy. Matisyahu touches the boy on the shoulder and, it is as though the boy has reached a sort of
enlightenment. This is symbolized by the immortalization of the boy s portrait on the high, wooden
fence behind them, which had previously shown a video of Matisyahu performing the song. Finally is
Lupe Fiasco s Muhammad Walks, which is a direct sample of Jesus Walks. Everything is the same
minus the lyrics, which are rapped by Lupe and is about Islam and its prophets comparable to Jesus
Walks, but from a Muslim perspective. The most notable aspect of the song is how Jesus

The Problem Of Suffering Is Not Limited
The problem of suffering is not limited to human society. The awareness of evils, present not only in
human society but also in the physical and biological levels, is raised among scientists and theologians
who participate in theology science dialogue. Not only animals but also plants experience sufferings
and pains to a certain extent. On the physical level, the increase of entropy according to the 2nd law of
thermodynamics is regarded as analogous to the notion of evil on the physical level. Even though the
prevalence of evil in the world raises a question as to the goodness of a god in any religion, The
problem is particularly pressing for Abrahamic faiths that insist on God s fairness, love, and goodness.
In that vein, Veli Matti Kärkkäinen appositely and acutely points out, Rampant suffering and acts of
evil in the world, both in relation to humanity (moral evil) and to nature (natural evil), constitute a
major atheistic challenge concerning the existence of God. In this paper, rather than presenting a full
scale theodicy, I engage with the problem of theodicy through careful comparative study between
Wolfhart Pannenberg s and Catherine Keller s theodical arguments in the context of their dialogue
with modern physics and biology. Pannenberg sees that theology and natural science are to be placed
in hypothetical consonance , whereas Keller takes an assimilationist approach to theology science
dialogue. The divergence of their interdisciplinary

Pay and reward systems exist in the form of pay, bonuses and benefits, financial and non financial and
designed to improve performance, increase motivation, staff retention and increase profitability.
Appreciation and gratitude is widely received as reward and the opportunity for training and
development for career progression. A good culture encompassing strong values, vision, morale s and
beliefs and behaviours expressed by employers and employees of an organisation can be the driver of
the overall performance of a company. A good culture can help support the implementation of changes
and new initiatives and are likely to be supported by those involved. 2 External factors and there
impacts: The economic climate surrounding a company can determine many things and can have
financial implications as well as affecting the levels productivity. Economic growth can lead to a lack
of employees available to fill positions because the labor market is saturated with jobs. A company
will look to offer higher wages, more benefits and incentive programs to entice potential candidates
and will invest in current employees with training and development to help retain the staff and
promote succession planning throughout the company. A downturn in economic growth can have the
opposite effect. Companies have a tendency to cut the workforce to maintain profit margins, thus
applying extra pressure to the remaining employees, causing extra work loads, poor morale and a high

London s Delusive Visionary, Banksy
London s delusive visionary, Banksy has made waves of controversy. His artwork started in London
and have made their way to Los Angeles, Syria, and Brooklyn but he is known all over the world for
mocking our society and people seem to be drawn to it, including myself. Even though graffiti is not
known for making an impact to society, Street art can reflect a feeling because all art has some
meaning and the artist has a reason for painting it for the public to see.
The British graffiti artist started off as a freehand graffiti artist, one of three his his crew in the 1990 s.
Banksy later on was influenced by Inky, Nicky Walker, and 3D who were other graffiti artists native to

Essay on New Albany Shale
Illinois Basin Structure
The Illinois Basin lies across Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky, and it has a oval like structural
depression in southeastern Illinois. The Illinois Basin is classified as an intracratonic basin (Bois and
Pelet 1982). The Illinois Basin began as a rift complex which eventually failed, the New Madrid fault
is associated with this rifting (Hasenmueller and Comer 1994). The depositional thickness of the New
Albany Shale was strongly affected by the regional down warping in southeastern Illinois (Lineback
1980). The Illinois basin is separated from the Michigan basin by the Kankakee arch, which is located
primarily in Indiana (Nelson 1995). To the South East lies the Cincinnati arch (Nelson 1995). In

this can be seen by the thinning across the structure while there is no thinning on older strata
(Hasenmueller and Comer 1994). The Mount Carmel Fault is a normal fault that trends northwest and
has seismic data that indicates it reaches the basement (Hasenmueller and Comer 1994).

Revenge And Adultery In Le Morte D Arthur
Important reoccurring themes in Le Morte d Arthur are adultery, fate, revenge, people hiding their true
identity, (unanswered) love, quests and chivalry HIER OOK. In Le Morte d Arthur adultery is one of
the most important themes and Arthur has a lot to do with it. First of all he was born because of
adultery between his mother Igraine, who was actually married to the duke of Tintagil, and his father
King Uther Pendragon. Secondly he commits adultery himself with his sister, King Lot s wife. Their
child Mordred will destroy him at the end of the book and so he is punished for his sin. Thirdly Arthur
s wife Guenever commits adultery with one of his knights, Launcelot. Fate is a very eminent theme as
well, as the future is often known ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, when Arthur sleeps with his sister Morgause and gets her pregnant with Mordred, he
dreams about serpents and dragons that wound him. Right before he gets killed by Mordred, he
dreams about them again, but this time they destroy him. Dragons and serpents, in this case, symbolise
destruction and the death of Arthur (Noodén 1992). The white brachet that ran in court with a lady on
a palfrey and a hart is one of these symbols as well. In medieval times, the brachet was a symbol for
love, which is why Tor is sent to fetch the brachet rather than Gawaine or Pellinore, as they are not
capable of loving the way Tor is (Dagg 1969). Finally the Questing Beast is an important animal
symbol, symbolising a meaningless quest. Sir Pellinore has to hunt it down, but it seems quite a
useless thing to do. This symbolises the way he does other quests, like when he has to find the lady of
the hart and brachet and refuses to help another lady in need. The quest he is doing is made useless
because of that, as he is not being chivalrous. In this case the Questing Beast is a reflection of
Pellinore s personality (Dagg

On Dumpster Diving Summary And Response
Summary and Response Essay
On Dumpster Diving In the essay On Dumpster Diving Lars Eighner describes the wastefulness of
Americans, how they view the poor, and how to stay safe while living the life of a scavenger. As he
travels the streets with his companion Lizbeth he scavenges through dumpsters in search of the
necessities of life. There are many people that are homeless in need of food. The poor do not have the
money to get food. In some cases the higher class poor are is one of the supporters of the homeless.
The rich people themselves also support the poor because they give back to charities and
organizations. These concepts are discussed effectively. This an effective essay because it explains

In the essay it talks about how people are wasting food and items for no reason. Eighner explains that
concept as he travels into dumpsters every day in search of necessities. In one of his routinely visits to
a dumpster he visits a pizza shop. He said it was his conveyer belt to get food. When a call is not
confirmed by a customer the pizza is thrown away into the dumpster. After a while the pizza place
catches on that someone is taking their pizza from the trash. The next time he visits the pizzas have
jalapeños on them. It was intentionally done because he was taking the pizzas. That didn t matter
though because he still ate the pizza and the jalapeños on them. Yes Americans are wasteful because
we know how good we have it and quite frankly we don t care. We waste because we can do it without
harm. People waste food for no reason at all. I am guilty for it I have done it ever since I can
remember. I did not consider how much I waist, but my views have completely changed towards the
way I waste materials. We all waist somehow but yet there is poor people out there that do not have

Marisol s Case Study Answers
Interviews Parent 1: Marisol Marisol s son Jason had been recommended for services for almost seven
months by school teacher and supporting staff. Throughout his year in Pre K, his teacher documented
several incidents which lead her to believe he needed to be evaluated for special education. He was

Marisol delayed the evaluation process by not submitting necessary consent and paper promptly.

did not feel well informed on the process of evaluation and allocation of services when asked about
what would help calm her fears. Marisol explained that she just needed a meeting where every

Arthur, through his bravery, dedication andcommitment, has earned himself legendary status. I have
often asked myself whypeople still remember such heroes and adore them. Through my research, I
foundthe answer to my question. Firstly, because victors of great battles are alwaysremembered and
secondly, people long for inspirational leadership, leadership thatwill raise their national pride, their
work ethics or more generally, would makethem feel important, appreciated and as an irreplaceable
part of something biggerthan themselves. This is exactly what Arthur achieved. He made
peopleunderstand that a leader is nothing without his people as well as that the peopleare nothing
without their leader. Inspiring people solely through words just doesnot suffice. Courage, cooperation,
determination, bravery, optimism, and honestyare the things that people will cherish and admire in a
hero. Arthur stands as animage of an ideal hero and human being who, like a messianic figure,
willinglyfaces danger, defeats evil, forgives injustice and helps people in their darkest
hour.Consequently, he perfectly fits the warrior archetype.Warriors live by a personal code that
prioritizes self sacrificialservice. They defend the weak while exercising personal restraint. They are

bank that they had chosen. Siegel went to the bank, and hated it he claimed it was too easy to rob and
a few weeks later Siegel robbed the very same bank for eight thousand dollars (Carter 180). This
relationship practically created Las Vegas, and eventually led to the death of Bugsy Siegel. After a few
years of working together the three mobsters began to spread their business westward towards Los
Angeles, and who better to run the operations than the suave Siegel? Luciano asked Siegel to go to
L.A. and keep watch over their businesses there (Bugsy Siegel Encyclopaedia par. 3). It was here that
Siegel began to have many mistresses, including Virginia Hill, even after his wife Estelle Krakower,
married since 1929, bore him two girls (Carter 187, 180; PBS par. 5). When in L.A. Siegel met up
with one of his childhood friends George Raft (PBS par. 6). It was also through Raft that Siegel met
Jean Harlow, Siegel s soon to be daughter s godmother (PBS par. 6). While in L.A. Siegel began to
dream of a gambling oasis in the desert. Siegel found the little town

Generally Accepted Auditing Standards
Generally Accepted Auditing Standards

Generally Accepted Auditing Standards Generally Accepted Auditing Standards or GAAS is a set of
systematic guidelines used by auditors when conducting audits on companies finances, ensuring the
accuracy, consistency and verifiability of auditors actions and reports (Lexico Publishing Group,
2008). The following paper will explain the elements of GAAS and how GAAS is applied to audits.
GAAS has three elements that must be used during every audit. They are general standards, standards
of field work, and standards of reporting. Each of the three standards has their own set of rules that
must be complied with during every audit. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are three main types of audits, financial, operational, and compliance. First a financial statement
audit involves obtaining and evaluating evidence about an entity s presentation of its financial
position, results of operations, and cash flows for the purpose of expressing an opinion on whether
they are presented fairly in conformity with established criteria (Boynton Johnson, 2006). Next an
operational audit involves obtaining and evaluating evidence about the efficiency and effectiveness of
an entity s operating activities in relation to specified objectives (Boynton Johnson, 2006). Last a
compliance audit involves obtaining and evaluating evidence to determine whether certain financial or
operating activities of an entity conform to specified conditions, rules, or regulations (Boynton
Johnson, 2006). The standards of GAAS apply to all three types of audits in more ways than one. First
the general standards must all be adhered before any auditor can perform an audit in any entity. The
standards of field work also must be followed while in the entity performing the audit. When reporting
the results of the audit the standards of reporting must be followed. The Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002
changed the world of auditing in many ways. The act put provisions into place that an auditor can no
longer perform certain services. It also placed increased penalties on managers of public companies
who try to report incorrect data

Essay on The International Military Tribunal for the Far East
The International Military Tribunal for the Far East
Before assembling here today the Members of the Tribunal signed a joint affirmation to administer
justice according to law, without fear, favor or affection.
We fully appreciate the great responsibility resting upon us. There has been no more important
criminal trial in all history. Certainly we are not a Senate or a House of Peers met for the impeachment
of a Verrus or a Hastings, but a court of our respective countries. On the other hand the accused before
us were no mere provincial governors, but for more than a decade were the leaders of Japan at the
height of her power and prosperity. They include former prime ministers, foreign ministers, finance
ministers, chiefs of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The prosecution team was made up of justices from eleven Allied nations: Australia, Canada, China,
France, Great Britain, India, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the Philippines, the Soviet Union and the
United States of America.(See Affirmation). The Tokyo trials lasted two and a half years, from May
1946 to November 1948. Other war criminals were tried in the respective victim countries. Lastly, the
war crime trials were held at ten different locations in China.
The International Military Tribunal for the Far East (IMTFE) consisted of a large variety of different
persons representing different countries. The Tribunal s sheer size and complexity is an example of an
un needed redundancy that among today s standards is unfathomable. When compared to its
counterpart at Nuremberg, one can determine the seemingly comprehensive and complete proceedings
as oddly overbearing. The Tokyo Trials lasted three times longer than the Trial of the Major German
War Criminals. It involved at least 230 translators and 237 Prosecution and Defense lawyers. The
hypocritical aspects involve the methods and procedures in which the IMTFE operated. It was
established in order to prosecute war criminals, allowing for the justice system to take on its role. Yet
the IMTFE has set its own rules and standards, decided what evidence , however crucial, may or may
not be entered as exhibits. The lack of a complete and fair trial existed not only in the admittance or

human body. For years, it was believed that saturated fats cause many problems to people. Health
officials promote that saturated fats are unhealthy and cause problems like cholesterol, heart disease,
and even obesity. Saturated fats are believed to have many calories and lipoproteins in it. Recent
studies published in the journal Annals of Internal Medicine1 proved that saturated fats are not
different that unsaturated fats and the chances of a person having heart disease, cholesterol, or obesity

Sexual Orientations Essay
Being sexual and romantic is the norm. Even now when other sexualities are more widely accepted
you don t hear about romantic orientations. You don t hear that your romantic orientation can be
different from your sexual orientation. You don t hear that there are romantic orientations, each just as
diverse and varied as sexual orientations. You particularly do not hear about the lack of these
seemingly intrinsic human traits. If you do hear about them they tend to be caused by a health issue, or
past trauma, abuse or a bad relationship. One of the only times I have seen an asexual couple on TV

For years I believed that. I tried to fit, knew I wasn t interested remotely in men so I assumed I was
gay. I got into a relationship which ended rather abruptly after our first kiss. Aren t kisses supposed to
make your heart pound, make butterflies swim in your stomach? Well, this one did but for all the
wrong reasons. I felt nothing, maybe even vaguely repulsed at the sensations of someone else s lips on
mine. In a panic I distanced myself from her in a panic. I spent years not even letting myself think
about sex, about relationships. I watched friends years younger than me make their first attempts at
dating, and helped them through those first break ups, first heart breaks. I never had that drive to date,
when I pictured myself in a relationship I felt nothing but a mix of boredom and vague distaste.
Romantic movies bored me, the sex scenes nauseated me, perfectly good movies would be ruined for
me when romance or a love interest was brought in. Everything I saw told me I should be interested
by these, seek them out even, build a large part of my life around finding and thinking about them.

Literary Themes In The Hunger Games
Misfortunate At It s Finest Imagine living in a world, where one s basic freedom s no longer persist.
One cannot speak one s mind freely, without fear of consequence. Due to the fact that one s words
could have one s self gravely beaten, or even killed. Imagine living in a world, where being hungry is
habitual. Where having food on the table is nonexistent and hunger bellies is persistent. Imagine living
in a world, where your son or daughter has to fight to the death to become a victor. This is the reality
for those who inhabit the twelve districts. They suffer the consequences of those before them, and as a
result they must endure the Hunger Games. The following is an analysis of the plot and of a dystopian

Katniss decided to not play their game with Rue s burial; riots resulted in eleven. The game leaders

us to question can love conquer all battles? Katniss Peeta love won the battle of the capital. They
managed to outsmart the game rulers. At the end of the day, the capital must have a victor; they

Essay On Cell Phone Distraction
Running Head:CELL PHONE DISTRACTION 3 Cell Phone Distractions Cell phones and technology
in general has advanced a lot over the last ten years. Allowing students to be able to take their phones
or devices wherever they want in today s society. Thus bringing forward the issue of cell phone
distraction in the classroom. Concerns about cell phones in the classrooms are also grounded in what
we know about teenage brains, including the inability to concentrate while multi tasking and possibly
long term effects on overall health (12) Multitasking is hard enough and if teens are doing this in the
classroom that means that kids are not learning enough while staring at their phones while the teacher
is teaching. Having said this a study from Pew research center stated that 78 percent of teens check
their devices hourly , this is insane. If that is true that means on average a student will at least look at
her/his device once per class period. As being a student in high school i find this to be very true.
Another study from Pew Research center stated that 50% of teens 13 18 feel addicted to their phones ,
this means that means separating from their phones will be tough. The reason i am writing about this
topic is to inform people about this epidemic and i am stating why this needs to be fixed. Unlike other
technologies there is something very specific about smartphones it represents life, entertainment,
social Running Head:CELL PHONE DISTRACTION 4 media, and gaming (12) the reason for this is
because of apps such as Netflix, Hulu, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and gaming apps. Phones being
allowed in the classroom are tempting for students. Students feel a vibration in their pockets and feel
the need to check their phones. Apps for example snapchat will flash the camera light when the
student receives a snap from someone. A research from Pew Research center asked a teacher what her
thoughts were on the issue. It s just too tempting for a student. Once that phone is brought out, most
can t resist texting a friend or begin playing a game. (12) Schools are allowing this epidemic to spread

Two Forms Of Power Compare And Contrast Butler And Zinn
There are two forms of power, mental and physical. Within these two forms are values which can be
altered to change the remembered outcome of the past, the present, and the future. While having
power in the present is important, true power comes from what is remembered from history. Although
the past cannot be altered, Butler and Zinn both intensify the description of the pain, sacrifices, and
trauma that slaves and Native Americans went through in order to make the present aware of and
understand the details of their stories to prevent their horrors from happening again. Zinn uses his
writing as a tool to give slaves, Native Americans, and other repressed people a voice in history so
they can claim the power of how history is remembered. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After Rufus threatens to kill Dana and Kevin, Dana returns to her house in California. She comes to a
realization that Butler wants the reader to relate to: I felt as though I were losing my place here in my
own time. Rufus s time was a sharper, stronger reality...Rufus s time demanded things of me that had
never need demanded before... That was a stark, powerful reality that the gentle conveniences and
luxuries of this house, of now, could not touch. (191) Through deep description of Dana and her most
inner thoughts, Butler wants her readers to focus on Dana and make her story a reality. Butler does not
want the truths of slavery to be left untold or de emphasized, she feels that it is her duty to enlighten
people today about history so its negatives are not repeated or elongated. Zinn puts Butler s sense of
duty into words: The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you don t listen to it, you will never
know what justice is. (Zinn 6) Too often history is only told from the victor s side or view. In this
view, details are often left out as we have learned to bury them in a mass of other facts, as radioactive
wastes are buried in containers in the earth. (5) Writers most often choose not to judge or accuse
heroes or those in power. With their writing, Butler and Zinn challenge powerful

The Contingency And The Resource Dependence Paradigms Play...
Both the Contingency and the Resource Dependence Paradigms play a vital role in business. Though
they have similarities, the also have differences. The following essay will describe these components.
First, the contingency paradigm, a closed system, considers uncertainty and how changes in the
environment affect the internal aspect of the firm (Tolbert Hall, 2009, p. 162). The elements can
include items such as size and technology, as it relates to customer demand to name a few. Another
example might be that a small firm would function better in a centralized fashion verses a large firm
that would benefit more from a decentralized method, whereas, fast paced environments may require
high technology and slow paced industries do not. The point here is that there is not one best practice
for leading or structuring a firm, hence, the company should fit within the environment depending on
internal and external factors (Long, 2014). It is important to note, hhowever, coordination can become
problematic in this theory. For illustration, let s say some environmental factor cause a company to
change structure from a simple structure to a more complex one. Problems with coordination in the
separate departments could present itself as communication and interaction is vastly different. The key
here is for the firm to adapt to the environment, as well as, integrate the activity to make a seamless
whole and reduce uncertainty. In fact, the best way to organize should be contingent upon

Volcanic and Seismic Events as Proof of Plate Tectonic Theory
Volcanic and Seismic events are major pieces of evidence towards proving that plate tectonics theory
is valid.
A seismic event is the transient motion and release of kinetic energy caused by sudden failure of the
earth s crust, usually felt as shaking or tremors in the rock mass. Seismic events range in size from
barely perceptible tremors to major earthquakes. Volcanic events occur when there is a release of
magma, gas and ash from the Earth s crust.
The entire outer surface of the planet is divided into these plate formations with approximately 30 in
total. These different plates vary in size from over 100,000,000 square miles, for example The Pacific
Plate, to the Galapagos micro plate at 12,000 square miles. Fault lines separate each ... Show more

New Basaltic magma rises to the surface, cools and pushes the plates apart. The convection currents
also help drag the plates apart and then pull them down at convergent boundaries. This can be seen at
the mid ocean ridges. Eruptions are non violent with the exceptions of the East African Rift Valley
where the recent eruption in 2002 in the Republic of Congo had a devastating effect on the local
population, and where the ocean ridges rise up out of the sea such as in Iceland.
The theory of plate tectonics also explains the formation of destructive plate boundaries which
account for creating 80% of the world s active volcanoes. The melting crust at Subduction Zones
(oceanic oceanic or continental oceanic) are due to differences in density between oceanic and
continental lithospheres, where the less dense plate is pushed beneath the more dense plate, and
becomes part of the asthenosphere forming magma that is andesitic in its nature. This creates the most
violent volcanic activity. Island Arc volcanoes such as Pinatubo and Fold Mountain Volcanoes such as
Nevado Del Ruiz (Andes) are very destructive.
The evidence for deep, hot, convective currents combined with plate movement (and concurrent
continental drift) also explained the mid plate hot spot formation of volcanic island chains for example
the Hawaiian Islands and the formation of rift valleys such as The Rift Valley of Africa. Mid plate
earthquakes, such as the powerful New Madrid

Bloods Vs Crips
Gang violence in America is a plague which ends the lives of thousands of youth. The two most
notorious gangs, mostly located near Los Angeles, California, are are the Bloods and the Crips. Many
things will be covered concerning these specific gangs to understand the basics of these two rival
gangs, one must understand how they gain members, what actions they take to mark their territory,
and what symbols they use to identify themselves.
The history of the Bloods starts in Rikers Island Prison. Omar Original Gangster (OG) Mack Portee
and Leonard Dead Eye McKenzie formed the gang to protect African American inmates from other
gangs. Multiple sets formed from this also known as groups that branched off from the gang. There is

The Themes Of Marvel Comics And DC Comics
Marvel Comics and DC Comics were both founded in the 1930 s as, naturally, comic book publishers.
Today they form 70% of the comic book market. By 2016, that market as a whole had hit a record
high of $1.085B in both physical and digital comic book sales (Johnston, 2016) (Comichron, 2016).
Some of the highest selling comic series currently in print have strong NCC themes. These include DC
s Batman and Marvel s The Punisher series.
Batman or Bruce Wayne, is a bat themed vigilante that carries out what he considers to be justice
within the corrupt, crime infested Gotham City. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016) (DC Comics, 2017). Bruce
Wayne is the billionaire owner of Wayne Enterprises and inherited his wealth and desire to fight crime
after witnessing his parents being mugged and then murdered. DC describes him as both a leader and
a hero. (DC Comics, 2017). In the typical Batman comic however, Batman is being hunted by the
police, mostly due to his violent solutions to crime. [He] distrusts the police and willingly breaks the
law in order to enforce his own values of what he considers justice. An interesting example occurs in
the very first Batman comic: Batman No.1 1940, in which Batman executes a mental patient by
hanging him from his Batplane. Using a toxic serum, an evil scientist had mutated the mental patient
into a very strong, enraged monster, locked him in a truck, and was planning to use him to rob a bank.
Batman kills the truck driver with the Batplane s mounted machine gun, then makes a noose with his
Batrope, lowers it down, and hangs the monster while he s attempting to crawl out of the truck
wreckage. The monster s corpse is casually dragged along behind the Batplane, and Batman remarks,
He s probably better off this way. (Cracked, 2012). Interestingly enough, Batman had created and used
an antidote to this serum just a few pages earlier, but did not attempt, or even think to use the antidote
on the monster. Despite this, Batman is considered a superhero and is often compared to Superman,
who by stark contrast, is willing to fight alongside the law, and has faith in the American criminal
justice system. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016)
Somewhat similar to Batman is the Punisher. Also known as

Gothic Architecture And Its Impact On The Modern World
Technology, culture, architecture, and all other aspects of Earth are on an ever evolving cycle,
reaching closer and closer to perfection at each tick of the clock. Witnessing these developments is
like candy to our eyes, as we dwell in the research and creation of new models. Imagine the base
model of all development as a Romanesque style of architecture, and the more improved model as
gothic. Because gothic architecture was formed over a span of 5 centuries later than that of the
romans, it is an obvious factor that more profound techniques were formed and better structures were
built. Today I am going to take you on a visual tour of the two most well known cathedrals in
Medieval times. The first, Le Puy Cathedral, is centered on volcanic rock looking over Le Puy,
France. It features an entirely Romanesque architectural design, and follows just about every common
rule of roman architecture. The second cathedral you will journey through is the Exeter Cathedral,
which demonstrates an entirely opposite design. The gothic architecture of this building is depicted on
all sides, and can be seen on even the smallest of items within the cathedral. Both of these complex
structures feature distinct designs, each with their own intended purpose. These visual walkthroughs
will touch on the buildings architectural aspects and why they were selected to impress their visitors.

Q A Case Study
3.a. Brands cannot be expected to last forever versus there is no reason for a brand to ever become
obsolete. In reality brands can exist forever if they are managed to stay in step with their target
customers unmet needs, preferences, wants and strive to exceed their expectations. Brand familiarity
and execution are key to the longevity of any marketing strategy, and to attain this over time brand
marketers must stay agile enough to shift with customer s needs, both actual and planned (Palmer,
2010). Consider Proctor Gamble and their approach to branding soap over the last one hundred years,
where the product itself was changing and continually improving yet the brand equity accumulated
over decades of consistent execution (Srivastava, 2009). The ability of a brand to stay agile and take
risks is also predicated on how much trust it has created and keeps fueling over time with its customer
bases as well (Urde, 1994). A brand can survive over a very long time by concentrating on the
customer first and their needs, making those the galvanizing force of the entire branding network
(Sarkar, Singh, 2005). Brands can continue on in perpetuity if they also stay true to the unique and
most differentiation aspects of the businesses they work to represent. Brands in many cases will drive
an entire company to revolutionize key processes, systems, and roles of key people in the organization
to stay more in step with customer needs (Sarkar, Singh, 2005). Given the focus on

The Sexual Identity Of Homosexual People
Ten percent of the human population is homosexual. In Greek it is pronounced ὁμός, meaning same ,
and sex derives from the term sexus in Latin. In Ancient Greece, sexuality was not questioned, and it
was something that was rejoiced. Today, people all over the world question the sexual identity of
homosexual people, because it goes against their religion, social standards, morals, and intellect. As
humans, we must comprehend the fact that being gay is nothing more than love between two humans.
As humans, we must come to the realization that we are all equal, and that you are born gay;
furthermore, you don t have a choice. In the past few hundred years homosexuality has been seen as
not being a matter of choice. In the 1960 s the term homophobia arose as a term that meant a fear of
homosexuality. During this decade, new forms of love and thinking came into play, which also
encouraged homosexual people to freely love as well. But when the summer of love ended, articles
began to appear in the paper about how this expression of love this way was wrong because of verses
that were in the bible, Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination.
(Version, Leviticus) Religion has always been the leading reason of homophobia, but some churches
have adopted the fact that you cannot change something that you have no control over. In the 1970 s
gay churches began to accumulate near coastal areas. People that attended, these churches were taught
that the Bible was

Years of aggressive oil drilling and then the 2239 C.E. great war over the little oil that remained, leaving a nuclear husk of the once blue planet. He looked thoughtfully out the window where he saw flames as the ship plummeted through the atmosphere and then thought about the next year. The mission was to successfully colonize Mars, so the United Nations with their remaining power made the plan to make five colony ships which would land at different points around the world where, for the first year they would live out of the ships and then eventually they would build structures from the materials on the planet which would withstand the harsh Martian ... • 4. An Analysis Of Hitler s Operation Barbarossa The wartime relationship between the Soviet Union and the United States, tenuously compromised and founded upon the necessity of the immediate pragmatism instigated by Hitler s Operation Barbarossa, was doomed to inevitably disintegrate once both parties ceased to confront a common belligerent. There are two significant factors within the breakdown of United States Soviet relations following World War II. First is the ideological incongruence within the communist capitalist dichotomy. Evangelical in nature, both powers aspired toward the proliferation of their political model (Class Lecture, Slide 2). Similarly, Stalin s narrative of the bourgeoisie s desire to undermine Soviet progress only furthered the rift between the two systems ( Comrades , ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Big 3 met at Yalta to frame the military strategy for the remainder of the war in Europe, devise plans for post war occupation, continue the continue to build foundation of the United Nations, confirm the borders of Poland, and ensure Soviet entry into the Pacific theater (Judge Langdon, 22 25). However, Stalin viewed the outcome of the conference as a significant advantage, and believed he had carte blanche not only to act as he pleased in Poland, but also to advance as far to the west as possible while Germany collapsed in an effort to attain as much territory as possible (Judge Langdon, 27). • 5. Journey Through Slavery Summary There have been many works in media and through novels describing slavery in Early America. Some focused on gloomy tales of the Middle Passage others about life on the plantation, day by day. Roots is a story and follows the life of Kunta Kinte from when he was born, to the abduction into slavery and then his life on the plantation. When his life ended his story persevered through generations that became rooster fighters to a foot soldier in the midst of a war. Through centuries, Kunta s lineage leads to Alex Haley who is betrothed by his family s intriguing and certainly impressive history. Therefore he wrote a book to share his discovery, which later developed into a mini series watched by 5.3 million people. My second documentary is an older one called Journey Through Slavery: Terrible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After overpopulation the Barbados Colony had to choose to expand into another territory due to an increasing need for land and they had their eyes set on South Carolina. There was then a decision needed, which cash crop to use and interestingly they chose Rice, which I would have never thought of as much of a cash crop. • 6. Voltaire And Martin s Use Of Optimism In Candide Candide, a novel based on its author s sardonic view of the philosophy rich 18th century Europe, illustrates unwavering optimism. Ultimately, Voltaire only disputes living in the best of all possible worlds when one does not go work in the garden, (Voltaire 144). He believes one has to work and put forth effort in order for everything to be for the best. Voltaire created Pangloss to be an optimistic and abstract philosopher that epitomizes the idle thinkers of the time that he deemed utterly ridiculous; he despised philosophers arguing without understanding the outside world. Pangloss s ceaseless preaching about everything being for the best keeps himself as well as Candide from participating in the realm around them. For example, rather than saving the Anabaptist s life, Candide prioritizes Pangloss s outlook on his death s convenience. It is proved, he used to say, that things cannot be other than they are, for since everything was made for a purpose, it follows that everything is made for the best purpose, (Voltaire 20). Thus, it is not until they leave the castle that they learn anything different. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Through his research which states that by simply neglecting the variety and diversity of consumer practices in different regions and parts of the world and the various uses to which consumers can put McDonaldization, using its products and procedures to serve their own needs. There are many ways Mcdonaldization can be resisted in: social institution, education, the economy, family, as well as religion and military that our society can reverse the effects on the way we live. Take for instance the schools and classrooms across the world. • 8. Diaspora By James Clifford Summary In the article Diasporas , historian and anthropologist James Clifford explores the issues that can arise when trying to concretely define diaspora, a traveling term, in changing global conditions . Clifford explains, the concept of diaspora was used in the study of Jewish and later Greek and Armenian displaced groups. However, since the 1950s it has been commonly evoked in reference to African forced migration and is now used to describe a variety of peoples and relocation experiences. In addition to diaspora , other terms are also being used quite heavily in discussions of the movement of people, including border , and Clifford explores the differences and similarities between people living in a state of border versus a state of diaspora while both suggest connections and multilocalities of people borders implies a politically and geographically defined line, where as a diaspora connotates a further distance of separation, and possibly a sense of exile. Clifford discuses these connections and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He especially focuses on the juxtaposition of diaspora against concepts of the nation state and on the flip side, against ideas of indigenous people. He feels that the term diaspora is a signifier, not simply of transnationality and movement, but of political struggles to define the local, as distinctive community, in historical contexts of displacement . His examination of the use of diasporic language in the context of tribal and indigenous people is especially interesting, since as he is clear to point out, tribal cultures are not diasporas; their sense of rootedness in the land is precisely what diasporic peoples have lost , however when the discussion is about indigenous peoples who have been displaced, which is often the case, much of this language and framework used to discuss diasporas is readily ... While, over the course of the latter 20th century and in the past decade, this has changed, the norm is very much still Christian and male; African Americans now fit into the All American stereotype, for the most part. However, there are, of course, outliers deviants from the standard norm; these outliers make one wonder what the norm truly is, why it is so, how did it get to be that way, and what the norm will be in the future. The main theme of King Without a Crown is that, in order to truly worship God, people need to leave their egos on the wayside and realize there is something better in life that can only be found with God. While Jesus Walks was more of a persuasive song, attempting to turn atheists into Christians, this is not seen in King Without a Crown. Matisyahu is only praising God; he says, without [God] there s no me, you re the air that I breathe, for example. Matisyahu describes his relationship with God as one that is like the relationship one has with food, for nourishment. He also says that he no longer has the need for drugs, sinesemilla, for it would only bring [him] down. The most notable portion of the music video is at the very end; Matisyahu is walking down a street and, as he turns around a corner, meets a boy. Matisyahu touches the boy on the shoulder and, it is as though the boy has reached a sort of enlightenment. This is symbolized by the immortalization of the boy s portrait on the high, wooden fence behind them, which had previously shown a video of Matisyahu performing the song. Finally is Lupe Fiasco s Muhammad Walks, which is a direct sample of Jesus Walks. Everything is the same minus the lyrics, which are rapped by Lupe and is about Islam and its prophets comparable to Jesus Walks, but from a Muslim perspective. The awareness of evils, present not only in human society but also in the physical and biological levels, is raised among scientists and theologians who participate in theology science dialogue. Not only animals but also plants experience sufferings and pains to a certain extent. On the physical level, the increase of entropy according to the 2nd law of thermodynamics is regarded as analogous to the notion of evil on the physical level. Even though the prevalence of evil in the world raises a question as to the goodness of a god in any religion, The problem is particularly pressing for Abrahamic faiths that insist on God s fairness, love, and goodness. In that vein, Veli Matti Kärkkäinen appositely and acutely points out, Rampant suffering and acts of evil in the world, both in relation to humanity (moral evil) and to nature (natural evil), constitute a major atheistic challenge concerning the existence of God. In this paper, rather than presenting a full scale theodicy, I engage with the problem of theodicy through careful comparative study between Wolfhart Pannenberg s and Catherine Keller s theodical arguments in the context of their dialogue with modern physics and biology. Pannenberg sees that theology and natural science are to be placed in hypothetical consonance , whereas Keller takes an assimilationist approach to theology science dialogue. In Le Morte d Arthur adultery is one of the most important themes and Arthur has a lot to do with it. First of all he was born because of adultery between his mother Igraine, who was actually married to the duke of Tintagil, and his father King Uther Pendragon. Secondly he commits adultery himself with his sister, King Lot s wife. Their child Mordred will destroy him at the end of the book and so he is punished for his sin. For example, when Arthur sleeps with his sister Morgause and gets her pregnant with Mordred, he dreams about serpents and dragons that wound him. Right before he gets killed by Mordred, he dreams about them again, but this time they destroy him. Dragons and serpents, in this case, symbolise destruction and the death of Arthur (Noodén 1992). The white brachet that ran in court with a lady on a palfrey and a hart is one of these symbols as well. In medieval times, the brachet was a symbol for love, which is why Tor is sent to fetch the brachet rather than Gawaine or Pellinore, as they are not capable of loving the way Tor is (Dagg 1969). Finally the Questing Beast is an important animal symbol, symbolising a meaningless quest. Sir Pellinore has to hunt it down, but it seems quite a useless thing to do. This symbolises the way he does other quests, like when he has to find the lady of the hart and brachet and refuses to help another lady in need. The quest he is doing is made useless because of that, as he is not being chivalrous. In this case the Questing Beast is a reflection of Pellinore s personality (Dagg ... • 27. Two Forms Of Power Compare And Contrast Butler And Zinn There are two forms of power, mental and physical. Within these two forms are values which can be altered to change the remembered outcome of the past, the present, and the future. While having power in the present is important, true power comes from what is remembered from history. Although the past cannot be altered, Butler and Zinn both intensify the description of the pain, sacrifices, and trauma that slaves and Native Americans went through in order to make the present aware of and understand the details of their stories to prevent their horrors from happening again. Zinn uses his writing as a tool to give slaves, Native Americans, and other repressed people a voice in history so they can claim the power of how history is remembered. ... She comes to a realization that Butler wants the reader to relate to: I felt as though I were losing my place here in my own time. Rufus s time was a sharper, stronger reality...Rufus s time demanded things of me that had never need demanded before... That was a stark, powerful reality that the gentle conveniences and luxuries of this house, of now, could not touch. (191) Through deep description of Dana and her most inner thoughts, Butler wants her readers to focus on Dana and make her story a reality. Butler does not want the truths of slavery to be left untold or de emphasized, she feels that it is her duty to enlighten people today about history so its negatives are not repeated or elongated. Zinn puts Butler s sense of duty into words: The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you don t listen to it, you will never know what justice is. (Zinn 6) Too often history is only told from the victor s side or view. In this view, details are often left out as we have learned to bury them in a mass of other facts, as radioactive wastes are buried in containers in the earth. • 28. The Contingency And The Resource Dependence Paradigms Play... Both the Contingency and the Resource Dependence Paradigms play a vital role in business. Though they have similarities, the also have differences. The following essay will describe these components. First, the contingency paradigm, a closed system, considers uncertainty and how changes in the environment affect the internal aspect of the firm (Tolbert Hall, 2009, p. 162). The elements can include items such as size and technology, as it relates to customer demand to name a few. Another example might be that a small firm would function better in a centralized fashion verses a large firm that would benefit more from a decentralized method, whereas, fast paced environments may require high technology and slow paced industries do not. The point here is that there is not one best practice for leading or structuring a firm, hence, the company should fit within the environment depending on internal and external factors (Long, 2014). It is important to note, hhowever, coordination can become problematic in this theory. For illustration, let s say some environmental factor cause a company to change structure from a simple structure to a more complex one. Problems with coordination in the separate departments could present itself as communication and interaction is vastly different. The key here is for the firm to adapt to the environment, as well as, integrate the activity to make a seamless whole and reduce uncertainty. In fact, the best way to organize should be contingent upon ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Volcanic and Seismic Events as Proof of Plate Tectonic Theory Volcanic and Seismic events are major pieces of evidence towards proving that plate tectonics theory is valid. A seismic event is the transient motion and release of kinetic energy caused by sudden failure of the earth s crust, usually felt as shaking or tremors in the rock mass. Seismic events range in size from barely perceptible tremors to major earthquakes. Volcanic events occur when there is a release of magma, gas and ash from the Earth s crust. The entire outer surface of the planet is divided into these plate formations with approximately 30 in total. These different plates vary in size from over 100,000,000 square miles, for example The Pacific Plate, to the Galapagos micro plate at 12,000 square miles. Fault lines separate each ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... New Basaltic magma rises to the surface, cools and pushes the plates apart. The convection currents also help drag the plates apart and then pull them down at convergent boundaries. This can be seen at the mid ocean ridges. Eruptions are non violent with the exceptions of the East African Rift Valley where the recent eruption in 2002 in the Republic of Congo had a devastating effect on the local population, and where the ocean ridges rise up out of the sea such as in Iceland. The theory of plate tectonics also explains the formation of destructive plate boundaries which account for creating 80% of the world s active volcanoes. The melting crust at Subduction Zones (oceanic oceanic or continental oceanic) are due to differences in density between oceanic and continental lithospheres, where the less dense plate is pushed beneath the more dense plate, and becomes part of the asthenosphere forming magma that is andesitic in its nature. This creates the most violent volcanic activity. Island Arc volcanoes such as Pinatubo and Fold Mountain Volcanoes such as Nevado Del Ruiz (Andes) are very destructive. The evidence for deep, hot, convective currents combined with plate movement (and concurrent continental drift) also explained the mid plate hot spot formation of volcanic island chains for example the Hawaiian Islands and the formation of rift valleys such as The Rift Valley of Africa. Mid plate earthquakes, such as the powerful New Madrid ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Themes Of Marvel Comics And DC Comics Marvel Comics and DC Comics were both founded in the 1930 s as, naturally, comic book publishers. Today they form 70% of the comic book market. By 2016, that market as a whole had hit a record high of $1.085B in both physical and digital comic book sales (Johnston, 2016) (Comichron, 2016). Some of the highest selling comic series currently in print have strong NCC themes. These include DC s Batman and Marvel s The Punisher series. Batman or Bruce Wayne, is a bat themed vigilante that carries out what he considers to be justice within the corrupt, crime infested Gotham City. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016) (DC Comics, 2017). Bruce Wayne is the billionaire owner of Wayne Enterprises and inherited his wealth and desire to fight crime after witnessing his parents being mugged and then murdered. DC describes him as both a leader and a hero. (DC Comics, 2017). In the typical Batman comic however, Batman is being hunted by the police, mostly due to his violent solutions to crime. [He] distrusts the police and willingly breaks the law in order to enforce his own values of what he considers justice. An interesting example occurs in the very first Batman comic: Batman No.1 1940, in which Batman executes a mental patient by hanging him from his Batplane. Using a toxic serum, an evil scientist had mutated the mental patient into a very strong, enraged monster, locked him in a truck, and was planning to use him to rob a bank. Batman kills the truck driver with the Batplane s mounted machine gun, then makes a noose with his Batrope, lowers it down, and hangs the monster while he s attempting to crawl out of the truck wreckage. The monster s corpse is casually dragged along behind the Batplane, and Batman remarks, He s probably better off this way. (Cracked, 2012). Interestingly enough, Batman had created and used an antidote to this serum just a few pages earlier, but did not attempt, or even think to use the antidote on the monster. Despite this, Batman is considered a superhero and is often compared to Superman, who by stark contrast, is willing to fight alongside the law, and has faith in the American criminal justice system. (Halevy and Cooper, 2016) Somewhat similar to Batman is the Punisher. Also known as ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Gothic Architecture And Its Impact On The Modern World Technology, culture, architecture, and all other aspects of Earth are on an ever evolving cycle, reaching closer and closer to perfection at each tick of the clock. Witnessing these developments is like candy to our eyes, as we dwell in the research and creation of new models. Imagine the base model of all development as a Romanesque style of architecture, and the more improved model as gothic. Because gothic architecture was formed over a span of 5 centuries later than that of the romans, it is an obvious factor that more profound techniques were formed and better structures were built. Today I am going to take you on a visual tour of the two most well known cathedrals in Medieval times. The first, Le Puy Cathedral, is centered on volcanic rock looking over Le Puy, France. It features an entirely Romanesque architectural design, and follows just about every common rule of roman architecture. The second cathedral you will journey through is the Exeter Cathedral, which demonstrates an entirely opposite design. The gothic architecture of this building is depicted on all sides, and can be seen on even the smallest of items within the cathedral. Both of these complex structures feature distinct designs, each with their own intended purpose. These visual walkthroughs will touch on the buildings architectural aspects and why they were selected to impress their visitors. • 34. Q A Case Study 3.a. Brands cannot be expected to last forever versus there is no reason for a brand to ever become obsolete. In reality brands can exist forever if they are managed to stay in step with their target customers unmet needs, preferences, wants and strive to exceed their expectations. Brand familiarity and execution are key to the longevity of any marketing strategy, and to attain this over time brand marketers must stay agile enough to shift with customer s needs, both actual and planned (Palmer, 2010). Consider Proctor Gamble and their approach to branding soap over the last one hundred years, where the product itself was changing and continually improving yet the brand equity accumulated over decades of consistent execution (Srivastava, 2009). The ability of a brand to stay agile and take risks is also predicated on how much trust it has created and keeps fueling over time with its customer bases as well (Urde, 1994). A brand can survive over a very long time by concentrating on the customer first and their needs, making those the galvanizing force of the entire branding network (Sarkar, Singh, 2005). Brands can continue on in perpetuity if they also stay true to the unique and most differentiation aspects of the businesses they work to represent. Brands in many cases will drive an entire company to revolutionize key processes, systems, and roles of key people in the organization to stay more in step with customer needs (Sarkar, Singh, 2005). • 35. The Sexual Identity Of Homosexual People Ten percent of the human population is homosexual. In Greek it is pronounced ὁμός, meaning same , and sex derives from the term sexus in Latin. In Ancient Greece, sexuality was not questioned, and it was something that was rejoiced. Today, people all over the world question the sexual identity of homosexual people, because it goes against their religion, social standards, morals, and intellect. As humans, we must comprehend the fact that being gay is nothing more than love between two humans. As humans, we must come to the realization that we are all equal, and that you are born gay; furthermore, you don t have a choice. In the past few hundred years homosexuality has been seen as not being a matter of choice. In the 1960 s the term homophobia arose as a term that meant a fear of homosexuality. During this decade, new forms of love and thinking came into play, which also encouraged homosexual people to freely love as well. But when the summer of love ended, articles began to appear in the paper about how this expression of love this way was wrong because of verses that were in the bible, Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is abomination. (Version, Leviticus) Religion has always been the leading reason of homophobia, but some churches have adopted the fact that you cannot change something that you have no control over. In the 1970 s gay churches began to accumulate near coastal areas. People that attended, these churches were taught that the Bible was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
