CEP55 Essay
CEP55 plays a critical role for precise midbody assembly as CEP55 depleted cells exhibited an
abnormal midbody structure that lacked visible midbody under light microscope [220]. They also
demonstrated the interaction of CEP55 with an orchestra of structural and regulatory proteins essential
for accomplishment of cytokinesis. These proteins include Aurora B, MKLP2, PRC1, ECT2, Anillin
and Syntaxin 2 which are recruited to the midbody thus implying the importance of CEP55 being
indispensable for midbody structure maintenance [220]. Carlton et al. and Morita et al. have
independently demonstrated that CEP55 coordinates the final stage of cell abscission. They have
showed that at midbody, CEP55 recruits proteins involved in vesicular fission ... Show more content

Further characterization is required to discriminate the role of CEP55 being direct (facilitates actual
abscission) or indirect (regulates recruitment of vesicular trafficking proteins) in cytokinesis.
1.7.4 The structure of CEP55 and ESCRT complex at the midbody
As discussed previously, CEP55 forms a complex with ALIX and TSG101 at the midbody to recruit
ESCRT machinery to the midbody for facilitating membrane fission events required to assist
separation of two daughter cells [212, 223]. Among many other ESCRT complexes (such as 0, I, II
and III), ESCRT III plays critical role in regulating cytokinesis as it forms long filamentous structures
to allow construction of constriction site [195, 212, 223]. In context to CEP55, ALIX enables
recruitment of ESCRT III whereas TSG101 allows conscription of ESCRT I initially which in turn
recruits ESCRT III (Figure 1.11B) [212, 223]. CEP55, like other centrosomal proteins is a highly
coiled coil protein and is known to exist as a homodimer [218]. Initially, Morita et al. demonstrated
that CEP55 is comprised of two coiled coil region joined by a hinge region that enabled binding of
ALIX and TSG101 [223]. However, Lee et al. demonstrated that the hinge region is part of the coiled
coil region with the probability of being a continuation of N terminal domain (Figure 1.11B) [196]. In
addition, Lee et al. also demonstrated that each homodimer of CEP55 binds only one copy of either
ALIX or TSG101

Voyeurism And Themes Of Hitchcock
Voyeurism Sexuality
Hitchcock often created film masterpieces, these films always have similar themes that Hitchcock
himself was personally fascinated with. Two of these themes happen to be his most notable are the
theme of voyeurism and the theme of sexuaily. Hitchcock has always created his films to reflect his
own ideas of how he has perceived these ideas, these themes were almost seemly an obsession to him
as they are so prevalent. Voyeurism is the one theme that people associate him with the most, as it is
Hitchcock s film techniques that bring it to life to the audience, Sexuaily, is something that Hitchcock
almost always adds in his films because they bring the characters together and he draws on that aspect
to fulfill a set ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Women were often seen as the weaker sex, this was a way for Hitchcock to put them up as a strong
independent being who was in charge of her own fate. These are the type of women, that men are
often warned about and Hitchcock also uses that idea with his male main characters, as they either
embrace that aspect of the women or are fearful of her. It s a way to play with the dynamics between
two characters by giving them a relationship that can be used in the plot, to create a turmoil at some
point. Sex is a powerful thing and Hitchcock never shies away from that idea, he embraces it within
his films.
Rear Window, has always one of my personal favorite movie by Hitchcock because it has everything I
want in a movie. A plot full of a possible murder, wonderful character dynamics, interesting
characters, the music and the way it was filmed. All speak to me, personally in a way that makes me
adore this film. It s how it was filmed however that really drew me into the movie as a whole, because
every scene is so well connected with each and the techniques used were incredible creative. It also
had some personal value, as it was one of the first films by Hitchcock that I saw growing up. Rear
Window is also particularly known for the themes of voyeurism and sexuality, as it seen in the movie
as a plot device due to the nature of the character and the situations they find themselves in. These two
themes were brought in so they could complete the film

The Philip Defanco Show
For a week I chose to watch and compare The Rachel Maddow Show and The Philip DeFranco Show.
I had chosen to compare the two because they are both personality driven news shows, with the
similar format of one presenter and a skew towards a liberal political stance. These similarities will
allow me to more clearly see a difference in how I consume the content. The format of the show
hosted by Maddow, a cable news show on MSNBC, has remained for the most part, static, it could
have been produced 30 years ago to the same effect through television. Whereas, DeFranco s show on
YouTube would never have been able to exist in its capacity if it were not for the internet. Clearly
marking the distinction between old and new media to me.
I firstly noted that the news stories which were covering by the two sources were mainly different.
While DeFranco skewed more towards pop culture, Maddow was more focused on governmental
events. Both however, covered American politics and events. One intersecting story which occurred
during the week was that of Elizabeth Warren, the senator who was silenced during a debate on the
nomination of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
YouTube uses a similar model as television, advertisements, but in a completely different form.
Creators on YouTube are payed based on views, as the more people watch the content the more
advertisers are interested in investing, but this model is fluctuating and unreliable. To build a more
sustainable model, many creators turn to alternative forms of revenue. Philip DeFranco, for example,
has built a business model on selling merchandise, acquiring his own sponsors and working with a
larger multimedia company, Discovery Network. Therefore, in a sense new media is still very much
financially reliant on old media. Television shows such as The Rachel Maddow Show has more
stability, with advertisers trusting the reliability of

Charlie and Tommo are the main characters of the novel Private Peaceful, written by Michael
Morpurgo. The boys head off in search of their great adventure, spending time training in the
Salisbury Plains, England and in Etaples, France. Life in the training camps was a complete new
experience from their normal day to day life in rural England. The training camps are very strict, they
are run by Sergeant Hanley. Everything in the training camps was in lines, straight and organised. We
see this when Tommo explains that we lived every moment of every day together, and usually in lines.
We lined up together for shaves, for food, for inspections. Even when we dug trenches, they had to be

The Functions Of Financial Institutions Within A Financial...
Discuss the functions of financial institutions within a financial system and give examples of financial
services and products that are traded by these institutions.
A financial institution is something that has been established that contains financial trades for example
investments, getting a loan or putting a deposit (ABP, 2001). Financial institutions get dealt with on
day to day so almost everyone deals with it. Majority of the depositing, borrowing money, exchanging
money contains and must be done through financial institutions.
The functions in financial system contains:
Investment Banks
Commercial banks
Insurance Companies
Investments companies
One of the functions of the financial institutions is Commercial Banks. Commercial banks will accept
deposits and provide very good security and make it suitable for their customers. This is just a normal
role for the bank to give their customers money safe so that their customers don t have to physically
keep their belonging in their home or on them (APB, 2001). With having commercial banks there is no
need to keep large amount of money in hand because the banks can handle it such as online banking,
checks, debit card or credit card.
Another one is insurance companies, insurance companies protect themselves or their properties such
as your phone, your vehicle or your house anything that you feel should be insured. Insurance use

The 1960 s in the United States Essay
The 1960 s in the United States
To some people the 1960s were the best of times, to others it was a period where many things went
wrong in society. Why do people have such different ideas about the 1960s?
Many people who lived through the 60s decade feel it was revolutionary; a swinging period after years
of austerity and gloom with the young people commanding the army of change.
This view however, has been challenged. Some think that the 60s have a misguided view. Instead of
the sixties transforming life for the better, it actually made life worse.
For young people during the sixties, life had freedom and freedom had opportunities. Education
became more efficient and opportunistic, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Whilst there were big achievements nationally and internationally like England winning the world cup
and man landing on the moon, there were also damaging political events. The building of the Berlin
wall officially began a cold war between superpowers, which left the world with anticipation of not
knowing what was going to happen. The Cuban Missile Crisis threatened nuclear war. In America,
there was the assassination of President Kennedy and the Vietnam War. Both were destructive and sad
events. Locally in England, there was the profumo affair where a British politician had an affair with a
Russian who was considered an enemy because of the cold war. This struck chaos into political values
in England.
During the sixties, there were many changes to the legal system in England. The death penalty became
abolished. Many people thought this would encourage crime and make the legal system look weak.
This was a debated decision as was the legalisation of abortion. Some thought and still think that
abortion is killing a living creature and therefore, it is murder. Others believe abortion should be
allowed to prevent unwanted pregnancy. Even nowadays, both decisions are countered.
In the 1960s, Homosexuality was legalised. As the numbers of homosexuals increased, this decision
gave granted freedom to many people who never had it before.

Composite Structure And Its Effect On Weight And Hardness...
Wonder composite materials, with a power and universal lightweight relative to weight and hardness

largely on the characteristics of its constituent materials, the distribution and the interaction between
them. In general, filler is the main load bearing Members, while the matrix keeps them in the desired

environmental damage. The composite characteristics may be part of the total volume of the
characteristics of components or the ingredients may interact cooperatively resulting in improved or

of two or more different constituents that can be physically distinguished, resulting in a final product
that has better performance than each individual constituent does. Composite materials consist of a
matrix (polymer, metal or ceramic) and one or more reinforcing phases (fibers, particles, flakes or

August Wilson Fences Analysis
Fences by August Wilson
August Wilson is ranked as one of the critical voices in American theatre. His plays are a revelation of
remarkable talent that mentions on the African American lifestyle and experience and simultaneously
creates a global appeal. Fences, one of his plays is a reflection of his rhetorical aims of using art in
changing the existing relationship between the blacks and society as proof that the African American
culture is fit for offering sustenance.
Fences by August Wilson gets its title from the main character, Troy. In the beginning, he builds a
fence for his wife as he engages in a conversation with Bono, his friend. The fence is completed by the
end of Act 1 and Bono, and his wife had previously placed a bet that he would buy her a new
refrigerator if the fence would be successfully built. Set up in Pittsburgh, PA on an African American
section between the late 1950s and 1960s, the play rotates around father and son conflict. Troy is a
garbage collector of African American origin and was once a famous ballplayer within the Negro
Leagues before inclusion of the blacks in the American leagues. His son Cory has a talent for athletics
sports and targets to win a college scholarship from football.
Cory pleads with his father to allow him to quit his job at the grocery store to be fully involved in
football. Nevertheless, his father does not accept which bars Cory from joining the high school team.
This shows that Troy is not sensitive to Cory s wish, but on the contrary, he has the will to fight for his
rights which sees him rise to become a garbage truck driver in the city. It is sad that he denies his son
the opportunity of becoming a sportsperson. To make matters worse, Troy cheats on his wife Rose but
show compassion to his brother Gabriel who is mentally disturbed. Gabriel got a head wound when he
took part in the World War II, and his friendship with Bono is firm.
Troy has a mistress, Alberta who unfortunately passes on while giving birth and the mistreated Rose
takes in the child. However, Rose refuses ever to obey Troy again. The commitment of Gabriela to
asylum leaves Troy and Cory entirely apart after Cory mentions that Gabriel s government considers

The Issue Of Revitalization In Newark
Newark is going through a time of revitalization, not gentrification. These new companies create new
job opportunities for the thousands of unemployed residents. There are also many empty acres of land
to construct buildings on, so there won t be a problem about displacement. However, in some parts of
Newark, the issue of racial tension is rising. The upgrading that s taking place in Newark is to support
the need of the residents and decrease many issues occurring in our society. Up to 2000 Newark

Some may object that the changes occurring in Newark are signs of gentrification, and not
revitalization. Gentrification is merely the act of changing the society and sometimes even displacing
residents, resulting in isolation and depression. The reason why some people believe that
gentrification is taking place in Newark is because of the racial tension. In the article A Revival in
Newark, but some worry it Not For Us , it is written that Newark s new chapter also has a racial tinge:
The city has been dominated by its large African American population after decades of white residents
leaving for the suburbs, but many of the people drawn by the city s resurgence are white. Although
most of Newark is populated by African Americans, many whites are appealed by our city s renewal
by making our community better. This statement may include how different races/ethnicities are

society. Because of this important detail, it makes a clear difference that Newark is going through

Analysis Of Helen Keller In The Chosen By Chaim Potok
Helen Keller was deaf and blind and even mute girl when she first came into the world. Despite the
fact, that she had several disabilities, she grew as one of the most respectable author, political activist,
and lecturer in the history. She grew well mainly because of the guidance and care of Anne Sullivan

to people and individuals. In Chaim Potok s book The Chosen, Mr. Malter s wise advice to Danny,
Reb Saunders s strong will, and Mr. Galanter s heart for Reuven prove that the three characters are
excellent leaders. The characteristics that three men revealed in the story helped those who were under
their guidance.
First, Mr. Malter s wisdom to give appropriate advice in right circumstances demonstrates his

Descriptive Essay About Paris
Paris is like no other place on earth, its beauty is indescribable, the amount of famous structures is

It all started with the most exhilarating train ride ever. It was about four hours long, and we were
going so fast that the world around me seemed non existent. The trees were whizzing by so quick that
I could hardly see what color they were. The food that was served melted in my mouth making me
want more with every bite. Although I never wanted the train to stop, nothing could ever compare to
what was awaiting my family and I when we stepped off the train. The aroma of the different types of
food from a variety of places coming together to make my mouth water. Seeing the bustling streets of
Paris filled with people as amazed as we were trying to take in the scenery that was so vast, it seemed
like years before we could visit it all. I was so excited to see what awaited us in the days to come.
Our first stop was the Eiffel Tower, standing next to such an amazing piece of art was a privilege as
well as intimidating. The Eiffel Tower is 1,063 feet tall making everything else around it seem

Future SoC will be implemented with the latest arbitration scheme. CDMA is the latest arbitration
scheme for those SoC. CDMA arbiter has better channel isolation and better channel continuity when
compared to other arbitration schemes in SoC. CDMA arbiter for a multimaster SoC system is
proposed. This proposed CDMA arbiter overcomes various SoC demands. This interconnect scheme
meet the latency requirement when compared to the existing CDMA based arbitration scheme. 1.
INTRODUCTION Future SoC consists of many different components. Main demand faced by this
SoC is rapid transfer of data between these components. Since it depends on rapid transfer of data
latency becomes the main parameter. If the delay associated with SoC increases it prohibits the
scalability of a multimaster design. There is a diminishing performance as more masters are
interconnected. A high performance SoC should handle numerous data transaction simultaneously. To
achieve this high performance we go for CDMA based arbitration scheme. CDMA based arbitration

realness, or congruence. The more the therapist is him or herself in the relationship, putting up no
professional front or personal facade, the greater is the likelihood that the client will change and grow
in a constructive manner. The second attitude of importance in creating a climate for change is
acceptance, or caring or prizing unconditional positive regard. It means that when the therapist is
experiencing a positive, nonjudgmental, accepting attitude toward whatever the client is at that
moment, therapeutic movement or change is more likely. . . . The third facilitative aspect of the
relationship is empathic understanding. This means that the therapist senses accurately the feelings
and personal meanings that are being experienced by the client and communicates this acceptant
understanding to the client. (Rogers, 1986). Additional assumptions, beliefs and hypotheses that are
central to the person centered approach are the following: 1. Belief that human nature is basically
constructive. 2. Belief that human nature is basically social. 2 3. Belief that self regard is a basic
human need and that self regard, autonomy and individual

Blockade Of Virginia Essay
On the morning of march 8 1862 the confederate ironclad CSS. Virginia steamed out of its port at
Norfolk Virginia and towards the union blockade. The goal of the Virginia s commander Franklin
Buchanan was to break the blockade of Norfolk Harbor which held one of the largest naval bases in
the Americas. At about 2 pm she spotted the USS Cumberland. Buchanan ordered the ship to ram the
Cumberland with its 1500 pound ram which lodged itself in the cumberlands bow completely
shredding it s hull. The cumberland began to sink rapidly with the virginia still logged in its bow. The
Virginia managed to pull herself free but in the process the iron ram broke off and sank. Not knowing
this the nearby USS congress a nearby frigate attempted to take the fight to shallow water but in the
process ran herself aground. The now helpless congress came under fire from the virginia s 9 inch
guns which ripped the frigate apart. The congress then raised a white flag and the Virginias captain
came above deck to accept but a musket ball from shore hit him in the arm. The now angry Captain
Buchanan ordered the Virginia to fire anti crew shots at the now barely afloat Congress. At around
4pm on march 8 the Virginia which was low on ammunition. Returned to port after about 2 hours ...

I do not wish women to have power over men but over themselves.(Mary Shelley) Women are just as

passive and disposable to emphasize their vulnerability. Firstly, female characters are portrayed as
weak to emphasize their vulnerability. Elizabeth s portrayed as a weak female, as shes referred to as

Maos Last Dancer
The 2003 autobiography Mao s Last Dancer , by Li Cunxin, is a book that is open to interpretation.
Overall, it is an interesting book that presents many different ideas and themes, including traditional
Chinese culture and the comparison between East and West ideology. Mao s Last Dancer tells the tale
of Li Cunxin, a Chinese dancer in the Houston Ballet, and his adventures. The book also includes
various members of Li s family, his dance teachers at his ballet academy and the friends he makes as
he travels to the U.S.A. At the age of 11, Li was taken from a poor Chinese village by Madame Mao s
cultural delegates and taken to Beijing to study ballet. In 1979, during a cultural exchange trip to

The first part of the book is based around Li s childhood, being set in his small village in rural China.
The second part of the book is about Li s travelling to Beijing and how he starts and continues to train
at a ballet academy. The final part of the book is set in Houston, and follows Li s professional ballet
career. This part also outlines the relationships Li falls into and explains his struggle in defecting to
the United States. This book touches upon many themes and ideas, and is particularly good at
presenting these themes from the perspective of a person that cannot change them. For instance,
Communism as an idea is explored thorough the novel with some detail, and the story helps us to see
how helpless the sufferers of the ideology cannot change their struggle. The writing style and the story
itself really puts us into an over the shoulder perspective when reading the text. It makes you feel like
you are in a dream watching Li perform his tasks and live out his life. The way it is written does not
tell us what Li is like, it lets us make our own judgment of him, letting us decide on our own if he is
deserving of the extraordinary feats he accomplished. The links between the different ages of Li are
seamless and are barely noticed. Its transitions between the days passed and even the years rolling
over seem to go without a hitch. The story and tale itself has a really smooth, flowing timeline. The

Essay On Irish Immigration To America
The mid late 1800 s, immigration is rampant within the United States, approximately 12,000,000
foreigners are attempting to enter the country, searching for a second chance or a fresh start ( Rise of
Industrial America, 1876 1900 ). Among the many nationalities immigrating were the Irish, coming to
the Land of The Free in an attempt to escape the famine, disease, and poverty that lingered from the
Great Potato Famine. The potential for a clean slate was so tempting that between 1820 and 1930, as
many as 4.5 million Irish came to America ( Irish Catholic Immigration to America ). However,

The answer can be simplified down to racism. Racism is a problem, it has always been a problem, it
will most likely always be a problem. The Irish dealt with extreme prejudice and hatred when the
arrived here, today the target of abuse are the Mexicans and Muslims. Two peoples that merely did as
everyone else did, they came to America looking for a second chance. While yes, there is validity to
the notion that terrorist attacks in the country have been caused by Muslims, and that there are
multitudes of illegal Mexican immigrants, that does not sanction being able to discriminate against an
entire population for the acts of some. To truly learn from the heinous ways of one s predecessors, one
must must go back and see what was wrong and really make an effort to prevent it from happening

learn, and be more tolerant and kind to those around us, not judging based on race, culture, or
ethnicity. We must learn to accept

Considering other theorists who studied subcultures was Richard Cloward and Lloyd Ohlin. Cloward

Lloyd Ohlin was an American sociologist and criminologist who taught at Harvard law school,
Columbia University and the university of Chicago. Over his career he studied the causes and effects
of crime and punishment, especially as it related to youthful offenders and delinquents. This is seen as
a functional perspective of subcultural behavior. Many working class youths who cannot gain status
legitimately, become frustrated and therefore try to gain status through illegitimate. They create their
own subculture and reject the norms and values of mainstream society. Richard Clowen in 1961 said,
The boy who joins a gang isn t in a rut. He has aspirations, but no place to go with them . Both
theorists argue that delinquency resulted from the irresponsibility of youths as a symptom of poverty
and the lack of alternative opportunities caused by poverty. The conditions underlying delinquency
could be resolved through social programs in local communities that will help address the

Aquinas Five Proof Essay
Disproving Aquinas Fifth Proof Saint Thomas Aquinas is famous for his five intellectual proofs
describing the existence of God. Aquinas five proofs are famous amongst Catholics and are widely
viewed as evidence of Gods existence. The basis of Aquinas fifth proof is that all things work towards
a final cause, and act in a manner that is generally harmonious. An entity must direct this universal
harmony, and that entity is God. Aquinas fifth proof from Intellectual design , specifically fails to
definitively prove the existence of God based on lack of scientific proof, as well as overall logic.

Darwinism is a theory of biological evolution; put simply, it means that all living things originated
from one common ancestor and the strongest survive while the weak eventually die off. For years this
theory has been scientifically proven. There is solid evidence that humans today have similar features
to Neanderthals, who have similar features to monkeys and gorillas. Thus proving, that humans
descended from a different organism. As for plants and animals, there is evidence that many animals
and plants evolve from animals and plants that are already extinct. For example, reptiles, such as
lizards, birds, and crocodiles are all descendants of dinosaurs. Also, this proves Darwin s idea that the
weak eventually die off. Animals and plants today still show traits of animals and plants that existed
millions of years ago because that species died off in order for the new species that exists now to be
created. It is a scientific cycle where we, as organisms, slowly become stronger species as time goes
on. This being said, it does not make any logical sense that there is some greater being who makes
everything happen, when it is clear that everything is scientific and has a logical

Disadvantages Of Examination Malpractice
Examination has been identified as the most objective method of assessing an individual s capability
and achievements and the effectiveness of educational programs. It is also used to determine the
effectiveness of a teacher or that of a teaching method. It is therefore a very important aspect of the

This assumption has all the evidence it needs to be upheld. Though millions of Catholics were
brainwashed by higher ranking church officials through cynical, selfish teachings, the reformation of
the Catholic Church saved an immeasurable amount of lives by gaining religious freedom in Europe.
To hit the tip of the iceberg, high ranking church officials would brainwash regular citizens. Though
not the type of brainwashing seen in movies, church officials found an even more efficient way to
make sure their followers stayed put. Officials forced people to work for the church ( The Roman
Catholic Church in 1500 ). Though it seems that Catholics could have chosen not work for the church,
that is how they were always taught. These rogue teachings were frequently taught to young, ignorant
people so that a priest would have to ability to remain in power ( The Roman Catholic Church in 1500
). According to Wongoo Shim, the Catholic Church also used relics as revenue which could be bought
by the people. These relics pardoned sins and granted access to heaven (Shim). Rich families would
often buy their way into a higher ranking church position. Separately, peasants were left desperate
after having to pay for christenings, marriages, burials, and anything else that required help from the
church ( The Roman Catholic Church in 1500 ). There was no other legal alternative for people. The
Catholic Church did not tolerate any deviance from its teachings.

Philosophy and Ethics on the Field
Philosophy and Ethics
My coaching philosophy will be based on athlete safety regardless off or on the field, player
development not just in sport, but in themselves as a person and through education, and well being of
the athlete such as their responsibility if you were to play sport.
When you are playing sport is the same thing as learning in school, you must have a positive behavior
to everyone in your team and classroom. Also, if you are to play sport for the school you must do well
in school so therefore you can participate in sport. When you play a sport you listen to the coaches
giving out examples and then you go out to the field and executed. You must do the same thing in life
with your parents when they need help from you; you must listen and then go executed like in sport.
Example: As an athlete your responsibility is to come to practice, practice hard, develop skill, and win
games. As a student you have to do your homework, study for your exam, and do well in school. For a
son or daughter you have to help your parents cook, clean, and do chore around the house and get
ready to go to school again. Everyone has their own responsibility to take care if you want to become
an athlete, students, and a good child you must grow up.

Summary And Symbolism In John Collier s Annunciation
Christian artwork is used to represent and symbolise the Gospel and important figures. Not all
individuals could read and write, therefore images were very important in delivering messages and
teachings. One artwork chosen is Annunciation by John Collier created in 2003. This modern artwork
shows Gabriel asking Mary if she would become the mother of Jesus. The other one is the Holy Night
Nativity Scene by Antonio Correggio created in 1530, which focuses on and sets the scene of Jesus
birth.
The Annunciation displays the moment Gabriel was sent by God to tell Mary she would become
pregnant. This is present in the passage God sent angel Gabriel to a virgin and he said to Mary God
has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus (Luke
1:26 33).
The artwork depicts Mary as a very young and innocent women, which is aided by her modern school
inspired dress.
In the background, there are houses of a 21st century style of living in the suburbs, making the setting
familiar and relatable and allows the audience to feel connected to Mary. Therefore, the emotions and

The Effects Of Lead On Human Population
The effects of lead in the human population have been an issue since the early civilizations because
lead was found in almost every item used for eating and cooking. In the 1950 s, houses were built and
the first choice for plumbing pipes was made of lead. The paint used to cover the interiors was lead

some glassware; however, the government has banned the use of lead in the rest. Lead can be

Meaning And Meaning Of Diaspora
The word Diaspora derives from the Greek Diasperien i.e. dia (through) and sperien (to scatter).
According to Webster s dictionary, Diaspora refers to dispersion so we can say that the word
represents a centre called home from where the dispersion occurs. In addition to it the dictionary also
associates the meaning with the dispersion of the Jews after the Babylonian exile. Thus we get two
meanings of the word Diaspora as a spread of population and a forcible dispersal. Though it suggests a
movement from one place to another, but it s not a nomadic existence as it is somewhere a journey but
that also does not mean all journey can be understood as that of a Diaspora. As in Diaspora does not
mean causal travel, even though diasporic journeys are mainly about settling down and about having
roots elsewhere. Thus, the concept of Diaspora has different meanings to different people according to
their different circumstances. For instance, when the Jews were exiled from the Babylon, they were
uprooted from their own homes and they had to rebuild their community and culture all over again, for
them the diaspora had different meaning since it was forced. But today the meaning of Diaspora could
be limited to any community of a particular nation outside its own country, sharing some common
bonds that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Government, Regulation Business Ethics
Government, Regulation amp; Business Ethics
The issue of business relations with government has increasingly become a key issue of business
ethics. Some of the many questions raised are * Is it acceptable for corporations to use their
considerable power tp shape government policy? * Is the government jeopardizing its role in
protecting the public interest when politicians sit on the board of corporations?
The government has a crucial role to play in establishing the rules of the game by which we judge
business ethics.
When we talk about the government, we know that the government is involved in issuing laws related
to business practices. Business ethics tend to begin where the law ends. This means that the
governments establish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He, as the owner of Italy s 3 major television stations and largest publishing house, has been able
tovirtually dominate the meida and thereby, marginalize any criticism of his government. The ethics of
occupying a dual role in business amp; ethics is somewhat questionable. On one hand, one could
argue that it has certain advantagesif politicians have had the experience of the business world and
vice versa. On the other hand, there are also quite significant ethical problems linked to the close
amalgamation of business and politics. Eg. German ex chancellor Gerhard Schroeder was criticized
for taking up an appointment as Chair of the Germa Russian company, in charge of the new gas
pipeling through the Baltic Sea. This deal was negotiated in th final months of his term in office. It
makes obvious the problems that can arise when we have politcians who are entitled to set the rules of
the economic game also acting as players in the game.
4] State Capture by Business direct payment of bribes to govt officials by businesses. Where it is

Gender Discrimination And Patriarchal Oppression In Mahesh

The doctor was persuaded by giving some acres of land in Bangalore by Bharati s MLA father. This
conspiracy needs to be commented upon in the light of what happens to the girl child in Indian society.
Mr. Patel is also not devoid of fault. He continuously and doggedly favours Chandan when it comes to
giving him higher education abroad, and a career. He appears to be more concerned about the future of
Chandan than Tara. Bharati s excessive love for Tara results from her past guilt. She feels the pangs of
her past guilt. She, allied with her father, did great injustice to Tara. Now she wants to give more and
more love and comforts to Tara. It is because of this that she wants to give her own kidney to Tara
when there is another donator available. She wants to give part of herself and craves satisfaction out of
this. The play also can be deemed as the tragedy of human self. Dan realizes wretchedness and misery
of his existence which is the outcome of the crime done to Tara. There is an unprecedented
development in the field of science and technology. It has blessed mankind with speed, pleasure and
perfection. If we look at the other side of coin, we shall come to know that it is also used to cause
suffering and pain in the lives of many people. After all, it is the man who operates the machine for his
own motives and desires. The play Tara shows us how technologically enhanced equipments are used
to subjugate the woman. The play also

Why Is Frederick Banting Successful
Sir Frederick Banting is undoubtedly the greatest Canadian. His dedication, bravery and genius led to
the discovery of insulin and a significant advance in research related to silicosis, cancer and aviation
medicine. He saved millions of lives, demanding nothing in return. He did, however, receive various
awards, such as the Military Cross for distinguished and meritorious services in time of war and the
1923 Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine. Not born in a particularly wealthy family, everything
he accomplished was the result of hard work, commitment, and passion. He dedicated his whole life to
helping people not only in Canada, but in the rest of the world as well. Banting did not just talk about
making a difference like most people do. He actually got up, faced the challenge and managed to
change the fate of millions.
Frederick Banting s main success was becoming the co discoverer of insulin, but it was not his first
major accomplishment. During the first world war, a heroic sacrifice earned him the Military Cross.
As a student, Banting enlisted in the Canadian Army Medical Corps and after graduation, was sent to
Europe to serve as a medical officer. In the last days of the war, seriously injured and ... Show more

Apart from showing remarkable courage, talent and intelligence, he was also very selfless and modest.
He did not do anything for money or fame, but for people. He did not want to accept the millions of
dollars that were offered to him for the patent of insulin, because he believed that the discovery
belonged to the world and not to him. He sold the rights to produce insulin to The University of
Toronto for only one dollar, and shared half of the money from his Nobel Prize with his assistant.
Frederick Banting did not chase after money or recognition. Everything he did, he did for the well
being of others, and after years of hard work, he died serving his country

  • 2. CEP55 Essay CEP55 plays a critical role for precise midbody assembly as CEP55 depleted cells exhibited an abnormal midbody structure that lacked visible midbody under light microscope [220]. They also demonstrated the interaction of CEP55 with an orchestra of structural and regulatory proteins essential for accomplishment of cytokinesis. These proteins include Aurora B, MKLP2, PRC1, ECT2, Anillin and Syntaxin 2 which are recruited to the midbody thus implying the importance of CEP55 being indispensable for midbody structure maintenance [220]. Carlton et al. and Morita et al. have independently demonstrated that CEP55 coordinates the final stage of cell abscission. They have showed that at midbody, CEP55 recruits proteins involved in vesicular fission ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Further characterization is required to discriminate the role of CEP55 being direct (facilitates actual abscission) or indirect (regulates recruitment of vesicular trafficking proteins) in cytokinesis. 1.7.4 The structure of CEP55 and ESCRT complex at the midbody As discussed previously, CEP55 forms a complex with ALIX and TSG101 at the midbody to recruit ESCRT machinery to the midbody for facilitating membrane fission events required to assist separation of two daughter cells [212, 223]. Among many other ESCRT complexes (such as 0, I, II and III), ESCRT III plays critical role in regulating cytokinesis as it forms long filamentous structures to allow construction of constriction site [195, 212, 223]. In context to CEP55, ALIX enables recruitment of ESCRT III whereas TSG101 allows conscription of ESCRT I initially which in turn recruits ESCRT III (Figure 1.11B) [212, 223]. CEP55, like other centrosomal proteins is a highly coiled coil protein and is known to exist as a homodimer [218]. Initially, Morita et al. demonstrated that CEP55 is comprised of two coiled coil region joined by a hinge region that enabled binding of ALIX and TSG101 [223]. However, Lee et al. demonstrated that the hinge region is part of the coiled coil region with the probability of being a continuation of N terminal domain (Figure 1.11B) [196]. In addition, Lee et al. also demonstrated that each homodimer of CEP55 binds only one copy of either ALIX or TSG101 ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. Voyeurism And Themes Of Hitchcock Voyeurism Sexuality Hitchcock often created film masterpieces, these films always have similar themes that Hitchcock himself was personally fascinated with. Two of these themes happen to be his most notable are the theme of voyeurism and the theme of sexuaily. Hitchcock has always created his films to reflect his own ideas of how he has perceived these ideas, these themes were almost seemly an obsession to him as they are so prevalent. Voyeurism is the one theme that people associate him with the most, as it is Hitchcock s film techniques that bring it to life to the audience, Sexuaily, is something that Hitchcock almost always adds in his films because they bring the characters together and he draws on that aspect to fulfill a set ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Women were often seen as the weaker sex, this was a way for Hitchcock to put them up as a strong independent being who was in charge of her own fate. These are the type of women, that men are often warned about and Hitchcock also uses that idea with his male main characters, as they either embrace that aspect of the women or are fearful of her. It s a way to play with the dynamics between two characters by giving them a relationship that can be used in the plot, to create a turmoil at some point. Sex is a powerful thing and Hitchcock never shies away from that idea, he embraces it within his films. Rear Window, has always one of my personal favorite movie by Hitchcock because it has everything I want in a movie. A plot full of a possible murder, wonderful character dynamics, interesting characters, the music and the way it was filmed. All speak to me, personally in a way that makes me adore this film. It s how it was filmed however that really drew me into the movie as a whole, because every scene is so well connected with each and the techniques used were incredible creative. It also had some personal value, as it was one of the first films by Hitchcock that I saw growing up. Rear Window is also particularly known for the themes of voyeurism and sexuality, as it seen in the movie as a plot device due to the nature of the character and the situations they find themselves in. • 6. The Philip Defanco Show For a week I chose to watch and compare The Rachel Maddow Show and The Philip DeFranco Show. I had chosen to compare the two because they are both personality driven news shows, with the similar format of one presenter and a skew towards a liberal political stance. These similarities will allow me to more clearly see a difference in how I consume the content. The format of the show hosted by Maddow, a cable news show on MSNBC, has remained for the most part, static, it could have been produced 30 years ago to the same effect through television. Whereas, DeFranco s show on YouTube would never have been able to exist in its capacity if it were not for the internet. Clearly marking the distinction between old and new media to me. I firstly noted that the news stories which were covering by the two sources were mainly different. While DeFranco skewed more towards pop culture, Maddow was more focused on governmental events. Both however, covered American politics and events. One intersecting story which occurred during the week was that of Elizabeth Warren, the senator who was silenced during a debate on the nomination of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Philip DeFranco, for example, has built a business model on selling merchandise, acquiring his own sponsors and working with a larger multimedia company, Discovery Network. This is seen as a functional perspective of subcultural behavior. Many working class youths who cannot gain status legitimately, become frustrated and therefore try to gain status through illegitimate. They create their own subculture and reject the norms and values of mainstream society. Richard Clowen in 1961 said, The boy who joins a gang isn t in a rut. Aquinas five proofs are famous amongst Catholics and are widely viewed as evidence of Gods existence. The basis of Aquinas fifth proof is that all things work towards a final cause, and act in a manner that is generally harmonious. An entity must direct this universal harmony, and that entity is God. Darwinism is a theory of biological evolution; put simply, it means that all living things originated from one common ancestor and the strongest survive while the weak eventually die off. For years this theory has been scientifically proven. There is solid evidence that humans today have similar features to Neanderthals, who have similar features to monkeys and gorillas. Thus proving, that humans descended from a different organism. As for plants and animals, there is evidence that many animals and plants evolve from animals and plants that are already extinct. For example, reptiles, such as lizards, birds, and crocodiles are all descendants of dinosaurs. Also, this proves Darwin s idea that the weak eventually die off. Animals and plants today still show traits of animals and plants that existed millions of years ago because that species died off in order for the new species that exists now to be created. It is a scientific cycle where we, as organisms, slowly become stronger species as time goes on.
