The Importance of Being Earnest Essay
AThe Importance of Being Earnest a play written by Oscar Wilde is set in England in the late
Victorian era. Wilde uses obvious situational and dramatic irony within the play to satirize his time
period. According to Roger Sale in Being Ernest the title has a double meaning to it and is certainly
another example of satire used by Wilde. With a comedic approach, Wilde ridicules the absurdities of
the character s courtship rituals, their false faces, and their secrets. (Sale, 478) In the Victorian era,
courtship rituals were slightly different from modern time courtships. It started with couples speaking
first, going out together, and finally they would keep each other company after mutual attraction was
confirmed. The character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Pardon me, you are not engaged to anyone. When you do become engaged to someone, I, or your
father, should his health permit him, will inform you of the fact. An engagement should come on a
young girl as a surprise, pleasant or unpleasant, as the case may be. It is hardly a matter that she could
be allowed to arrange for herself (Wilde, 622). Lady Bracknell s harsh criticism and stubborn ways are
customary of upper class mothers in the era. Ironically enough, Algernon later develops a kind of
forbidden love. The object of his affection is young and being taught to be unimaginative and serious.
One thing that Jack and Algernon have in common is that they both have these false faces. Algernon s
alter ego Bunbury is a version of himself used in the country but he uses Ernest to marry Cecily. The
story deals with Ernest, this immorally imaginary man that both Cecily and Gwendolyn become
engaged to, it exemplifies the irony within the name. Most of the irony comes from this character. One
of Wilde s satiric targets is romantic and sentimental love, which he ridicules by having the women
fall in love with a man because of his name rather than more personal attributes. Gwendolyn said No,
there is very little music in the name Jack, if any at all, indeed. It does not thrill. It produces

Moral Courage In Roger Rosenblatt s The Man In The Water
People have moral courage whether they realized it or not. It is in our everyday lives and we used it.
Moral courage could be something small or big in different cases. The Man in the Water is a Formal
essay written by Roger Rosenblatt. It is about a plane crash in Washington D.C. and an unknown man
risked his life to save others. In The Man in the Water , Roger Rosenblatt: moral courage is developed
through the use of symbolism and conflict. Moral Courage is developed through conflict which the
main character goes against the opposing force. When the plane crashed in the water, there were only
a few survivors. Several people were surrounding the plane crash site with news reporters and the
police. The rescue helicopter came and tried to save other people in the plane. When the helicopter
came, the unknown man went around trying to save the survivors. He came back in forth rescuing one
people at a time knowing that he risked his life. Every time they lowered a lifeline and flotation ring to
him, he passed it on to another of passengers (Rosenblatt). The man in the water fought against nature
to save the people and he put his fear a side. His enemy was nature and nature tried to took the
survivor s lives away. He put nature into a hold for a long moment to save other people. Near the end,
he saved all of the people except himself. He purposely sacrifice himself which he knew from the
start. He knew that he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Optimization Of Water And Nano Fluid
Constructal optimization of water and nano fluid flow for micro channel heat sinks with rectangular
cross section
Abstract
In this paper, three dimensional water and Al2O3 water nano fluid flow and heat transfer is optimized
geometrically using constructal theory. A numerical code based on the finite volume method and
SIMPLER algorithm is developed to solve the governing equations. The code is carefully validated by
comparing numerical predictions with experimental data. In this study we consider aspect ratio,
number of channels in the heat sink and solid fraction factor as degrees of freedom. Given a specific
volume and axial length of the micro channel heat sinks and a fixed pressure drop, we want to find out
the best possible number of channels in the system, and geometry of each channel that maximizes the
global thermal conductance. Furthermore we investigate the effect of different pressure drops. The
results show that the geometric parameters have a strong effect on the performance of micro channel
heat sink. Comparison of the results of water and Al2O3 water nano fluid indicate that neither Re nor
pressure drop along the channel are good parameters to compare the thermal performance of nano
fluid and water.
Key words: micro channel heat sink, nano fluid, Constructal theory, finite volume method, Pressure

For Years, Fifa Has Been The Center Of Allegations Involving
For years, FIFA has been the center of allegations involving scandal, corruption, and general
unhealthy management. The negativity surrounding the leadership of FIFA has caused the organization
and the sport to spiral into questions of fairness, responsibility, and accountability. Football players
and fans alike have lost a great deal of trust and respect for the organization that has promised to
maintain the sanctity of their sport. As a task force, we have been assigned to revitalize the FIFA
organization and bring all of its actions to light. Our vision is a fair, clean sport that is enhanced by a
just governing body. We want to bring justice to the sport and its fans who relentlessly support it. We
will condone honest actions taken by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
FIFA must lead by example, they need to become more active in demonstrating the core value of
leadership. How can we expect the football world to make the right decisions and to be honest in their
ways of business if the main organization of football isn t doing so themselves? Lastly, we believe
FIFA needs to master the core value of maturity. If we are expecting maturity when it comes to how
players handle a bad call on the field, then we should also expect it of the largest organization of the
sport itself, FIFA. If something were to go wrong in the future, whether it is with a player, board
member, vice president, etc., FIFA should be mature about the situation and handle it properly and
correct it. They should not let it slide or look the other away. In light of recent events that put the
reputation of FIFA into question, our goal is to bring reforms that will restore FIFA as an organization
built on honesty and friendly competition.
In order to combat the alleged corruption throughout FIFA, our first objective is to create a
decentralized system of authority. To do this, we first want to create a complete separation between the
management that deals with the commercial aspect of FIFA and those who make executive decisions
within FIFA. By doing this we believe that the temptation and occurrence of corruption will be
decreased because those who work to create commercial deals and handle the bidding

Presentation Of A Super Bowl Viewing Party
Introduction:
This fall our class collaborated with Big Brother Big Sister of the Ocean State. Their issue that they
brought to Bryant is that they were in desperate need of more male Bigs to satisfy the huge number of

The Experience:
By no means did this project move smoothly from start to finish. During my brief time, here at Bryant
University I have worked and lead in various group projects, this group was by far the most efficient
and well rounded group I have been apart of. However, we did not even come close to our potential.

After about twenty minutes of comparing schedules, we finally found a time, in which we could set
our weekly meeting (Wednesdays at 7:00 P.M.). On several occasions when we had to meet outside
this time, we would have to miss a team member during the meeting due to the major scheduling issue
we faced all semester. As a team, we faced another issue; one group member seems to be negligent to
the team and fails to complete quality/timely work as well as a non active group member during
meetings. Being the group leader, I feel personally responsible for the lack of motivation this group
member has so in order to try to resurrect their motivation I attempted to talk individually with the
person and send individual reminders numerous times before deadlines and lend a helping hand if
needed. Unfortunately, my attempts can be considered a failure due to the regression in this person s
work as well as mental/physical attendance during meeting hours. Going off my group leader blunders
also throughout the Service Learning Project I failed to implement the Dashboard and Gantt Chart into

Salem Witch Trials Essay
The Salem Witch Trials was a very dark period in our history that occurred in the colony of Salem,
Massachusetts. These trials began in February 1692 and ended in May of 1693. There were over two
hundred individuals who were accused of practicing witchcraft. Of those two hundred accused, nearly
twenty innocent souls were lost. This was one of the most severe cases of mass hysteria in recorded
history. There was a great effort exhorted by the Massachusetts General Court to declare a guilty
verdict, that the framers of the United States Constitution went to great lengths to never let this type of
tragedy occur again; commonly known as the eighth amendment. Remarkably so, some may argue
that there were similarities in Salem and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
What would be considered mental disorders in today s society, no clear medical diagnosis could be
deduced. Partly due to fear and also not being able to diagnose these fits, members of the community
suspected witchcraft to be the culprit. Little did the community know what was about to transpire in
their town over the next year.
The Salem Witch Trials officially began in February 1692 when the afflicted girls accused Tituba, Ms.
Good and Ms. Osborne of witchcraft. Tituba confessed to witchcraft. Not only did she confess, she
also said there were many others who were working for Satan. This triggered the beginning and that is
when the fears of the Salem colonists were realized.
These girls did not all show symptoms at one time. The first girl to start experiencing symptoms was
Betty Parris. She was followed by Abigail Williams, Ann Putnam Jr., Mary Walcott and Mercy Lewis
(History of Massachusetts). These girls were throwing tantrums, hiding under furniture and contorting
to pain. Since panic and fear set in, witchcraft was the easy choice to make. In today s medical
science, these girls would have been diagnosed with boredom or epilepsy. Although at the time the
cause was unknown, these symptoms were probably brought on from eating rye infected with fungus.
The three victims were not the only ones accused. There were numerous cases of scapegoating
running prevalent.
Since Tituba confessed, there was little legal ground she

Harry S Truman Dbq
Harry S. Truman
On 8th of January 1947, at Harry S. Truman s first economic report as president to the congress of the
United Sates, he said, America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination
and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand , but little did Truman know that these beliefs of
his would become misunderstood and critiqued by the masses in coming times.
When Harry S. Truman left the presidency in January 1953, he was one of the most unpopular
politicians in the United States. However, this is unjustified as he was a real democrat for the people
and was an honest president. Furthermore, he did not make many poor discussions nor was he
inadequate leader, yet he got undeserved and bias criticism by the people of the United States. Truman
continually faced tough challenges and had to pick up from where Franklin D. Roosevelt s
unanticipated death left the nation in a mess. He was the Commander in Chief of the United States
military during the final months of World War II. Under his command, the U.S. dropped two atomic
bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, effectively ending the war. For many Americans, Truman s
legacy as the nation s leader centres on these controversial decisions. He had courage, imagination and
an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand, yet he was branded as a bad president during his
time. In spite of that, he has overcome his challenges and had stayed strong even after he returned to

Ordinary Men Summary
Book Review: Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning Ordinary Men by Christopher Browning is
subtitled Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the Final Solution in Poland. This title is a perfect
overview of the subject of the book. Browning discussed Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the part it
played in the World War II during the Holocaust, especially in the Final Solution , which was the
attempted eradication of Jews. Not only does Browning discuss Battalion 101, but he uses them as an
example of how ordinary people can commit atrocities such as mass murder. Christopher Browning is
a professor of history at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He is considered an
expert on the Holocaust and has written several acclaimed books covering this subject (Christopher R.
Browning). To write this his book Ordinary Men, he relies on a collection of indictments and
judgements that took place from 1962 to 1972 (Browning xvii). These cases that Browning studied are
full of testimonies from Battalion 101 members. He writes Ordinary Men completely based on these
testimonies and the conclusions that can be drawn from them. ... Show more content on

Failure to manage a payroll effectively may cause many problems for the company and its employees.
It could mean loss of money, integrity, and trust between both parties.
Oftentimes, it takes many hours of work and manpower to get the job done. In certain cases, effective
payroll management is compromised by the lack of an effective system. Most companies may have
enough manpower and resources. However, with an effective information technology, managing a
payroll will be simpler, cost effective, timely and reliable.
One of the companies that use manual payroll system is the Arias Garments. It was established last
September 18, 1994 at #88 Bargy. Latag, Lipa City, under the management of Mr. Alex Arias together
with his wife Mrs. Anita Carol Katigbak. It started with only forty machines and ten employees. The
capital of Arias Garments is Php 500,000.00. By 1996, Arias Garments became the subcontractor of
Champan Garments. Champan Garments produce and transport products like Gap, Banana Republic,
Old Navy, Tommy, and Hilfinger.
As of now, Arias Garments have 176 machines and 100 employees (40 regular and 60 contractual).
8:00AM is the time in of employees, 4:00PM is the time out, and they consider 8:15AM as late.
Employees who are late or either log out earlier than 4:00PM will have a deduction on their wages

Islamism, as a basic feature of Muslim and especially Arab politics, and has played a major role in
Iraqi politics. There are two branches of Islam present in Iraq, the Shiites (Or Shia) and Sunni. Similar
to Iran and Bahrain, Iraq has a Shiites majority. This majority has, however, not been able to exercise
much political power until the 2000 s, with the removal of President Saddam Hussein and his Sunni
elite. Modern Iraq has a strong affinity between religious devotion and politics.

The primary grievances of most Iraqi Sunnis include the integration of Shi a militias into the Iraqi
Security Forces (ISF), attacks by the ISF in Sunni civilian areas, and political exclusion in Baghdad.
A huge moral and ideological vacuum had emerged in Iraq after Saddam Hussein, and Islam was ideal
to provide a new moral compass to the people. Neighboring states were already moving quickly where
possible to establish centers of influence within Iraq to prepare for the day when U.S. power departs.
Iran supported Islamist movements among the Shia while Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States sought
bolster Sunni forces in Iraq.
The Islamists Shia and Sunni were not automatically hostile to the U.S. presence, especially since both
gained from the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. But they were determined to retain the Muslim
character of Iraq, especially in the face of non Muslim occupation, and cannot long support the U.S.
presence. Islamist power inside Iraq has diminished to the extent there is freedom enjoyed by other
political and religious parties within the country to rival the Islamists. However, as nearly everywhere,

Developing a learning tool to encourage education in a stem subject
Introduction
The aim for this project as has been mentioned is to develop a learning tool to encourage education in
a stem subject, I narrowed this down to developing a game that would help a student learn maths
specifically. Since then I have narrowed this further and have specified that this would be for around
the academic year 7 so around the age of 11 but would still be appropriate for 10 or 12 year olds. To
achieve this aim the objectives will be for one to train in game development as well doing research to
help establish the game mechanics or gamification elements wanted in the game.

The Role Of Social Media On Healthcare
INTRODUCTION The healthcare industry is slowly embracing and recognizing the importance and
power of social media. Millions of people of all ages go online each day, to seek information, do
online research, share photos, write blogs, watch videos, play online games, and so much more. Many
healthcare businesses have already, or are starting, to create an online presence to capture the millions
of people that go online every day. Social media can help healthcare professionals and organizations to
promote and advertise their products and services locally and globally. Different healthcare social
media sites make it easier for consumers to locate the products and/or services they want to find.
Successful healthcare social media sites are designed to be engaging, interactive and to create positive
relationships with existing consumers. Then, potential new clients can make better purchasing
decisions based on the first hand experience from others who have personal knowledge of the product
or service. ROLE OF HEALTHCARE SOCIAL MEDIA The role of social media in healthcare
follows the same principles as most other industries in terms of mass communication, global reach,
engagement, and instantaneous feedback from and to a relevant group of people. In short, the
healthcare social media platform is an effective, low cost method to share information, create
communities, and maintain relationships with key groups. The Executive Director of Deloitte

Essay On Populism
There are, of course, other definitions of populism that are worth at least exploring. One particularly
popular book has been What is Populism by Princeton professor Jan Werner Müller. His definition
asserts that Populism is a moralistic imagination of politics that is anti pluralist and claims exclusive
representation of the people. (Müller 2016, Pg. 20) Ironically, he uses Wallace s Segregation forever
comment to support this claim. We actually argue that this moment was the attaching of populism to
nativist ideology in order to build a winning coalition (as is attested by Wallace himself), not an actual
expression of populism itself (Rowan 1991). We reject his definition on several grounds. The first is
the premise that populists must necessarily be anti pluralist. There is no ground in which this must be
the case. In fact, populist voting populations must be pluralistic in and of themselves, because as he
makes clear, there is no such thing as a homogenous people in existence. The only sense in which they
are not plural is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
3). Under this conceptualization the oft used term silent majority makes little sense in the reality of
populism, if populist believe that they speak with the authority of everyone. This seems to be a
convenient theoretical position, not an actual description of populism in the real world. This ironically,
leads to him excluding the original American Populist party of the 1890 s from his own definition of
Populism. Additionally, right wing populism surely differentiates between the elites themselves and
those they view as below them. (See diadic [left wing] vs. triadic [right wing] populism.) Populism is
about a claim to the volonte generale (general will), not the absolute will of the people. (Mudde and

Essay on A Fictional Account of Early Iceland
A Fictional Account of Early Iceland
The origin and evolution of saga writing in Iceland are largely matters for speculation. A common
pastime on Icelandic farms, from the 12th century down to modern times, was the reading aloud of
stories to entertain the household, known as sagnaskemmtun ( saga entertainment ). It seems to have
replaced the traditional art of storytelling (Hermann Palsson, pg. 1). Njal s Saga uses Old Icelandic
writing convention and historical data to give a fictional account of a generation s lifestyle and
struggles.
Icelandic literature has become very valuable because historians have realized the great amount of
truth that can be found in each saga. According to one historian, the sagas have proven to be ... Show

1). Animal products provided the mainstay of the Icelandic diet. An emphasis on dairy cattle and
sheep meant that lamb and beef and dairy products such as cheese and whey were relatively plentiful,
especially following good seasons (Gary Martin, pg. 2)
Despite the abundance of food, as more settlers came, the resources were slowly depleted:
The following episode from Grettir s Saga is likely to have been typical: as soon as Eirik knew that
Onund had arrived he offered to give him anything he wanted, and added that there was not much land
still unclaimed. Onund said he would like first to see what land was available. So they went south
across the fjords, and when they reached Ofaera, Eirik said, Now you can have a look at it. From here
on the land is unclaimed up to Bjorn s settlement. (Gary Martin, p.2). Clearly this famine was a
historical, recorded event since there are also reports of a shortage of foodstuffs in Njal s Saga. This
was a time of great famine in Iceland, and all over the country people were going short of hay and
food (Njal s Saga, Ch. 47). So it is clear that Njal s Saga includes some factual information, yet still
remains a fictional narrative.
Instead of creating a form of law enforcement, the Icelanders usually took matters into their own
hands. This is can be seen in the many killings that occur in Njal s Saga. The Icelandic people had
developed a feud system,

Power Electronics Essay
Power electronics circuits convert electric power from one form to other using electronic devices. By
using semiconductor devices as switches power electronics circuits function, thereby controlling or
modifying a voltage or current.Power electronics application range from high power conversion
equipment such as dc power transmission to everyday appliances, such as cell phone chargers,
cordless screwdrivers, power supplies for computers, and hybrid automobiles. Power electronics
includes applications in which circuits process miliwatts or megawatts.Power electronics include
conversion of an unregulated dc voltage to a regulated dc voltage conversion of ac to dc, conversion
of dc to ac, and conversion of an ac power source from one amplitude and frequency to another
amplitude and frequency. These power converters are classified as rectifiers, AC voltage controllers,
DC choppers and inverters, which covers wide area of residential, commercial and industrial
applications, including computers, transportation and power utilizes [1].
Power electronic converters, especially DC/AC inverters have been extending their range of use in
industrial application because they provide better system efficiency, reduced energy consumption and
improved quality of power. The output voltage of inverter could be fixed or variable at a fixed or
variable frequency and output waveforms are therefore made up of discrete values, producing fast
transition rather than smooth ones [2]. The ability to

world. Cole Matthews has been in trouble with the law for half of his life. An example from the text is
(page five) ...who has been in trouble with the law half his life. Many people in the story think that he
should get tried as an adult and spend some time in jail so he doesn t hurt anyone else. For example,
on page forty six, Peter s lawyer says, That boy is dangerous, she said. Next time he might kill
someone. This Circle Justice has it s place, but I oppose any plan that does not isolate Cole Matthews.
Many characters in the book think that Cole should have all the things that he s done to happen to him.
In the book, Touching Spirit Bear, on page fifty, Peter says, I think someone should smash Cole s head
against a sidewalk so he knows how it feels. In conclusion, Cole is not afraid to hurt people who aren t
afraid of him. Cole is not polite to anyone around him, even if they are a figure of importance. For
example, on page four Edwin says, Go put your clothes on inside out, he ordered. Get real, old man.
Many characters in the book Touching Spirit Bear view Cole as a nuisance and pain in the rear.
According to the text, on page twenty one Garvey states, I don t invest time in losers.

Argumentative Essay On Deep Brain Stimulators
There are many illnesses, pertaining to both medical and psychological, that affect the health and
wellbeing of countless other people. Some examples of these types of diseases would be Parkinson s
disease and obsessive compulsive disorder. While the effects of the disease can be suppressed by
pharmaceutical means, there comes a point when medicine is simply not enough. This in turn led to
the usage of deep brain stimulators to help ameliorate problems that medicine could not. Although
implementing deep brain stimulators is a new procedure that has been in practice since over twenty
years ago, many experts agree that using them is not a panacea because there can be many problems
from them. Since deep brain stimulators are recently new in the medical field, there are positive and
negative effects still being discovered. To begin with, according to an article written by Lyons, MD,

There are two specific sites inside the brain have been most commonly targeted for deep brain
stimulation in Parkinson s disease are the subthalamic nucleus and the internal segment of the globus
pallidus (Okun 2012). Both are nuclei in the basal ganglia, where a majority of degenerative change in
Parkinson s disease occurs (Okun 2012). There are many adverse effects from having deep brain
stimulators implanted; the two that stand out are infection and intracranial hemorrhage. These are a
major problem as they can be the reason why deep brain stimulators are removed. While deep brain
stimulators can be very helpful, the safeness and outcome are not set in stone and one should be

Brennan, Deane, Dawson and Gaudron JJ concluded that the appeal should be allowed and a retrial
ordered.
Issues: Whether an ordinary person could have regained the self control in the time between the first
and second stage events?
Why did the trial judge not direct the jury to the option of provocation as a defence from the jury s
consideration during the second stage of the event?
Was there a miscarriage of justice?
Decision: Appeal Allowed
Retrial Ordered.
Ratio: The trial judge inadvertently or not, effectively withdrew from the jury s consideration the issue
of provocation at the second stage of events and since the appellant s loss of self control may have
continued to that stage, there cannot be said to be no miscarriage of justice.
Obiter: That a reasonable jury could conclude the appellant was acting under provocation. Upon the
evidence it was open to a jury, properly directed as to the law, to reach that conclusion.

The case of Masciantonio v The Queen (1995) 183 CLR 58 ( Masciantonio ) is a High Court of
Australia decision from 1995 that deals with jury direction and provocation and whether the original
trial judge caused a miscarriage of justice when he inadvertently or not, effectively withdrew from the
jury s consideration the issue of provocation or whether provocation ought not to have been left to the
jury at all.

Narwhal Poem
Narwhal
The ocean was still and smooth, like a black mirror reflecting ivory clouds and cyan shadows. In it, a
pale blue whale of immense size surfaced and swam gently, like a dropping tear on a cheek.
All the misery from around the world was drawn to the sea and formed its ripples. The whale
swallowed the grief silently, from the northeast to the southwest, and the world was quiet and
peaceful.
Over time, the whale could no longer bear and hold the sorrows inside his body. The pain transformed
and twisted into a long, grey tooth; it pierced through his forehead like a unicorn s horn.
One day, people saw this anguished whale from the shore. They were amazed by a creature they had
never seen before. They gazed at his splendid horn, and a strong greed grew inside of their hearts.
People took boats, wood, and anything that could let them float. They surrounded the whale and
trapped him, but the whale was too huge to be carried. So, they used thick ropes to hitch his head, ...

The ocean was angry. It continued to move restlessly; it swept and devoured numerous lives. Humans,
however, were ignorant of the change.
Now, the horn hung in the centre of the city. People took pride in it and cheered, never knowing that it
was the pain of the whale.
Time passed by. A sailor was drowning in the fierce ocean from shipwreck. He struggled and tried to
stay afloat, but desperation and death were stronger than him. When he was ready to give, he saw an
island a short distance away. With his last ounce of strength, he swam to the island and pulled himself
onto the beach. He lay prone on the sand, and couldn t believe that he was still alive.
When he lifted his head up, the forest soughed in the breeze. The subtle comfort slowed his breath and
brought him an inner peace he had never felt before.
The sailor didn t know that the magnificent whale s body had floated up from the bottom of the sea
and transformed, creating the island that was now his

Thomas Stearns Eliot, Or T.S. Eliot, Was Born In 1888 On
Thomas Stearns Eliot, or T.S. Eliot, was born in 1888 on the Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri.
Throughout his life, Eliot wrote and published several pieces of writing that are highly regarded and
still studied in the world of literature today. Eliot was an American British author, critic, playwright,
and poet. After attending Smith Academy, and Milton Academy, he went on to graduate in just 3 years
at Harvard University. He also got his masters and did doctoral work. He attended Oxford, but
ultimately left for England after a short amount of time. The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock attracted
the most attention out of all of Eliot s poems. Just some of the many techniques used throughout the
whole passage are dramatic monologue ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Eliot also uses figures of speech in this passage to establish the theme of death. Eliot described the
afternoon as spread out against the sky like a patient etherized upon a table. (Eliot 2) in the beginning
of the passage, he is describing the sky as a patient on an operating table under anesthesia. Again, in a
later stanza, he says it sleeps so peacefully! Smoothed by long fingers, asleep ... tired ... or it
malingers, stretched on the floor. (Eliot 75 78). This metaphor is being echoed through the passage,
presenting an eerie and dark setting. This relates directly back to the reoccurring theme of death and
isolation with his use of fearsome imagery. He obscures the long description of the sky using
fragmentation, breaking up the different images into smaller parts and placing them in different
stanzas in the passage. Another figure of speech used is personification. The yellow fog that rubs its
back upon the window panes. (Eliot 15) Eliot uses personification to turn the yellow fog into a fearful
and timid cat, which represents the fear in Prufrock, and helps indicate the theme of doubt that we see
frequently when he tries to make decisions. A technique that frequently

The Importance Of The Elgin Marbles
Around the year of 440 BC, a cultural monument was constructed in Athens Greece in dedication to
the city s patron Greek goddess Athena. This monument is known as the Parthenon which not only
served as a temple for the athenian people, but also is home to a collection of marble sculptures which
we know now as the famous Elgin Marbles. These marbles now sit in the British Museum of London
thousands of years after their construction, thousands of miles away from the original location in
Athens Greece. The Elgin Marbles are a collection of sculptures that were taken from their place of
origin, Athens, Greece by Lord Elgin to London in1803. The controversy that has surfaced over the
past one hundred plus years deals with the the reasoning behind the removal of the marbles. The two
sides of the argument as indicated by Juan Pablo Sanchez in an issue of National Geographic s are
whether the marbles were salvaged or stolen. In order to understand why this argument stands, one
must gain knowledge of what the marbles are, look into both sides of the argument, and finally search
for the reasoning behind both sides.
The three different types of sculptures known as the Elgin Marbles are the pediments, metopes, and
the frieze. The pediments of the Parthenon are triangular niches on the upper parts of the temple, one
which is located on the East, the other on the West. The greek goddess Athena s tale of her birth is
depicted in images carved into the East pediment The East pediment

A Brief Biography of Jane Austen
Jane Austen was truly a woman of her time. Not only did her level of education soar over most women
of her time, she truly cared about the people around her. Austen s passion for her family was just as
strong as her passion for reading and writing. Austen strived to learn more everyday. She was one of
the most widely read writers in English Literature. (Biography of Jane Austen 1) Jane Austen was born
December 16, 1775 in Steventon, Village in Hampshire.
Austen received a better education then most women of her time. (Collins, K.K. 1) Jane Austen was
taught mostly by her father and her five brothers whom expected Austen to have a stellar education.
Austen also learned from the impressive library her father had in their home. Fortunately, Austen had
a better education than most women. The earliest writing recovered was when she only eleven years
old. Her family always strived for her to have the best education. Austen and her sister Cassandra were
always going to different boarding schools. After Austen caught typhus and almost died, she mostly
was educated at home. Austen s parents decided to send her and her sister Cassandra to boarding
school again after she recovered from her illness. After a year in boarding school both sisters returned
to home because the family could not afford it any longer. Austen continued her education by reading
books. Her father George and her brothers James and Henry guided her in her education to keep her
on track. George Austen

Essay on Steroids in Baseball
Steroids in Baseball
Today in the United States, millions and millions of kids, teens, and adults watch and play in the sport
of baseball. It is probably the number one sport looked upon and what is happening to it is a bit
discouraging. Players have started cheating by using steroids to help them play stronger and better.
They are in league where you have to be the best at what you do to play, and if your using drugs to
cheat your way in, then it ruins the ethics of the game of baseball.
Baseball first started in the mid 1800 s as game for people to play and have fun in. From then until a
few years ago it has continued that way until drugs ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The MLB is just a giant business. How can you see it otherwise? Steroids in baseball have changed
dramatically over the past ten years and a major factor impacting the changes may be players use of
performance enhancing drugs. Do these players not realize that they are cheating? They are putting a
drug into their bodies to make them better then everyone else. In less than four years Babe Ruth s
single season record of 60 home runs has been broken by Sammy Sosa, Mark McGwire and Barry
Bonds. These were three of the players who were faced with a charge of using steroids and notice how
they are three of the top hitters. McGwire just retired too, I think steroid use, and people finding out
had a smidge to do with it. All these players aren t losers, they are all stars and looked upon from all
over and know are being accused of cheating. (Kingsbury)
Today s players are bigger and stronger than the baseball heroes of yesterday and many sports writers
and baseball analysts suspect the reason involves the use of anabolic androgenic steroids. U.S.
lawmakers are considering a national anti steroid policy to discourage players from using illegal
performance enhancing drugs. (Miga) Anabolic androgenic steroids are man made substances related
to male sex hormones. These steroids are used by athletes to artificially raise testosterone levels in the
body. Raising testosterone levels allows the user to train longer and harder, increase

The Power Of The Familial Bond In Cormac Mccarthy s The Road
Cormac McCarthy s The Road is, essentially, a love story between father and son, in which the
companionship of each other is their only salvation. Scavenging alone in a dystopian word, the father
and son rely on one another to maintain any sense of purpose. The father is determined to protect his
son, causing them to travel towards the coast, attempting to find the other good guy . The son clings to
his father and relies on him to provide food, safety, and comfort, even in th form of lies. This theme of
the strength and power of the familial bond layered heavily into the story line. In the first pages, the
father and son are described as each the other s world entire since they are each other s only
companions (McCarthy 6). Since the boy s mother s suicide, the two have traveled alone, and despite
many run ins and altercations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, the father shows his love through small acts of comfort. He is constantly attempting to
make a better life for his child, regardless of the hopelessness of their situation. He allow the boy to
keep the lamp on when scared. He always attempts to give the boy more food or water. He scavenges
for better clothes and shoes. Most importantly, the father prevents to shield his son from the horridness
of their reality, even if he has to lie. The boy often asks if they are going to die, but the father tells him
they won t, even if they are starving. Also, the father attempts to physically shield his son from
evidence of death, cannibalism, and the bad guys . Most prominently, the father shoots a man who
grabbed his son in the woods. He has revolved his entire world around the safety of his son. This love
between them may be the only reason the father, unlike his wife, did not chose to commit suicide. To
him, the boy was the all that stood between him and death, and he was unable to abandon him or
watch him die. (McCarthy

Innovative Thinking Essay: Product Service System
It was amid a midyear break when the inverter at my place required an overhauling which was
expected by organization s arrangement. In any case, the organization lost a track of its past records
that demonstrated the third due administration. After a great deal of bothers and protests the issue was
settled. Notwithstanding, this occurrence made me end with that organization and joining another. A
large number of companies are unable to keep up the track of their administrations which causes them
a big time loss.
Each business plans to build its deal breaking its past records. Furthermore, the best way to do it is to
draw in new clients as well as to keep up them after deals. An organization that prioritizes its
customers will always be referred. The primary purpose behind the decrease of offers in an
organization is its absence of duty to give appropriate administrations to its clients. An enlisted
grumbling is here and there which is sometimes not attended by the organization which prompts
expanded grievances among the shoppers prompting decrease in the sales. Sometimes the organization
is not ready to keep up the record of the administrations of a client which prompts a more prominent
perplexity in the association. Another issue related to less customer satisfaction is the inability to solve
the problem on time.
One solution to this problem is to

Speech On Chicken Pox
1 Avoid Chicken Pox
The only foolproof way of not getting chicken pox is to avoid being in contact with absolutely anyone
who you suspect has it. However, if you are reading this, it means that you are not a complete
germaphobe, hypochondriac, or you are a devoted mother, father, wife, husband, or even brother or
sister. I don t know about that last one. If my brother had the chicken pox, and I hadn t already been
through that, of course, I don t think I d go anywhere near him!
2 Anyway, so what really is this thing we call the chicken pox?
The culprit is a virus belonging to the Alphaherpesviridae, which is what the herpes viruses belong to;
the specific cause is the varicella zoster virus.[2] Which really shouldn t make any sense to you, other

6 Special Considerations
Here are some things to keep in mind when dealing the chicken pox. If you are pregnant and are not
immune to varicella, do not attempt to care for your sick child, husband, sister, brother, or whomever
it is. This disease can be extremely dangerous for you and your unborn child!
The danger really depends on timing. If you are in your first trimester or in the middle of your second,
your baby has a chance of developing what is called congenital varicella syndrome. This is
characterized by a group of rare birth defects which according to the mayo clinic may include[6]:
Scars on the skin
Low birth weight
Problems affecting the arms, legs, brain and eyes

  • 2. The Importance of Being Earnest Essay AThe Importance of Being Earnest a play written by Oscar Wilde is set in England in the late Victorian era. Wilde uses obvious situational and dramatic irony within the play to satirize his time period. According to Roger Sale in Being Ernest the title has a double meaning to it and is certainly another example of satire used by Wilde. With a comedic approach, Wilde ridicules the absurdities of the character s courtship rituals, their false faces, and their secrets. (Sale, 478) In the Victorian era, courtship rituals were slightly different from modern time courtships. It started with couples speaking first, going out together, and finally they would keep each other company after mutual attraction was confirmed. The character ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Pardon me, you are not engaged to anyone. When you do become engaged to someone, I, or your father, should his health permit him, will inform you of the fact. An engagement should come on a young girl as a surprise, pleasant or unpleasant, as the case may be. It is hardly a matter that she could be allowed to arrange for herself (Wilde, 622). Lady Bracknell s harsh criticism and stubborn ways are customary of upper class mothers in the era. Ironically enough, Algernon later develops a kind of forbidden love. The object of his affection is young and being taught to be unimaginative and serious. One thing that Jack and Algernon have in common is that they both have these false faces. Algernon s alter ego Bunbury is a version of himself used in the country but he uses Ernest to marry Cecily. The story deals with Ernest, this immorally imaginary man that both Cecily and Gwendolyn become engaged to, it exemplifies the irony within the name. Most of the irony comes from this character. One of Wilde s satiric targets is romantic and sentimental love, which he ridicules by having the women fall in love with a man because of his name rather than more personal attributes. Gwendolyn said No, there is very little music in the name Jack, if any at all, indeed. It does not thrill. It produces ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Moral Courage In Roger Rosenblatt s The Man In The Water People have moral courage whether they realized it or not. It is in our everyday lives and we used it. Moral courage could be something small or big in different cases. The Man in the Water is a Formal essay written by Roger Rosenblatt. It is about a plane crash in Washington D.C. and an unknown man risked his life to save others. In The Man in the Water , Roger Rosenblatt: moral courage is developed through the use of symbolism and conflict. Moral Courage is developed through conflict which the main character goes against the opposing force. When the plane crashed in the water, there were only a few survivors. Several people were surrounding the plane crash site with news reporters and the police. The rescue helicopter came and tried to save other people in the plane. When the helicopter came, the unknown man went around trying to save the survivors. He came back in forth rescuing one people at a time knowing that he risked his life. Every time they lowered a lifeline and flotation ring to him, he passed it on to another of passengers (Rosenblatt). The man in the water fought against nature to save the people and he put his fear a side. His enemy was nature and nature tried to took the survivor s lives away. He put nature into a hold for a long moment to save other people. Near the end, he saved all of the people except himself. He purposely sacrifice himself which he knew from the start. • 4. Optimization Of Water And Nano Fluid Constructal optimization of water and nano fluid flow for micro channel heat sinks with rectangular cross section Abstract In this paper, three dimensional water and Al2O3 water nano fluid flow and heat transfer is optimized geometrically using constructal theory. A numerical code based on the finite volume method and SIMPLER algorithm is developed to solve the governing equations. The code is carefully validated by comparing numerical predictions with experimental data. In this study we consider aspect ratio, number of channels in the heat sink and solid fraction factor as degrees of freedom. Given a specific volume and axial length of the micro channel heat sinks and a fixed pressure drop, we want to find out the best possible number of channels in the system, and geometry of each channel that maximizes the global thermal conductance. Furthermore we investigate the effect of different pressure drops. The results show that the geometric parameters have a strong effect on the performance of micro channel heat sink. Comparison of the results of water and Al2O3 water nano fluid indicate that neither Re nor pressure drop along the channel are good parameters to compare the thermal performance of nano fluid and water. Key words: micro channel heat sink, nano fluid, Constructal theory, finite volume method, Pressure boundary condition Introduction Continued miniaturization of electronic systems has accentuated the need for highly effective compact cooling technologies. • 5. For Years, Fifa Has Been The Center Of Allegations Involving For years, FIFA has been the center of allegations involving scandal, corruption, and general unhealthy management. The negativity surrounding the leadership of FIFA has caused the organization and the sport to spiral into questions of fairness, responsibility, and accountability. Football players and fans alike have lost a great deal of trust and respect for the organization that has promised to maintain the sanctity of their sport. As a task force, we have been assigned to revitalize the FIFA organization and bring all of its actions to light. Our vision is a fair, clean sport that is enhanced by a just governing body. We want to bring justice to the sport and its fans who relentlessly support it. We will condone honest actions taken by ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... FIFA must lead by example, they need to become more active in demonstrating the core value of leadership. How can we expect the football world to make the right decisions and to be honest in their ways of business if the main organization of football isn t doing so themselves? Lastly, we believe FIFA needs to master the core value of maturity. If we are expecting maturity when it comes to how players handle a bad call on the field, then we should also expect it of the largest organization of the sport itself, FIFA. If something were to go wrong in the future, whether it is with a player, board member, vice president, etc., FIFA should be mature about the situation and handle it properly and correct it. They should not let it slide or look the other away. In light of recent events that put the reputation of FIFA into question, our goal is to bring reforms that will restore FIFA as an organization built on honesty and friendly competition. In order to combat the alleged corruption throughout FIFA, our first objective is to create a decentralized system of authority. To do this, we first want to create a complete separation between the management that deals with the commercial aspect of FIFA and those who make executive decisions within FIFA. By doing this we believe that the temptation and occurrence of corruption will be decreased because those who work to create commercial deals and handle the bidding ... Their issue that they brought to Bryant is that they were in desperate need of more male Bigs to satisfy the huge number of boy Littles without a Big. The Experience: By no means did this project move smoothly from start to finish. During my brief time, here at Bryant University I have worked and lead in various group projects, this group was by far the most efficient and well rounded group I have been apart of. After about twenty minutes of comparing schedules, we finally found a time, in which we could set our weekly meeting (Wednesdays at 7:00 P.M.). On several occasions when we had to meet outside this time, we would have to miss a team member during the meeting due to the major scheduling issue we faced all semester. As a team, we faced another issue; one group member seems to be negligent to the team and fails to complete quality/timely work as well as a non active group member during meetings. Being the group leader, I feel personally responsible for the lack of motivation this group member has so in order to try to resurrect their motivation I attempted to talk individually with the person and send individual reminders numerous times before deadlines and lend a helping hand if needed. Unfortunately, my attempts can be considered a failure due to the regression in this person s work as well as mental/physical attendance during meeting hours. Going off my group leader blunders also throughout the Service Learning Project I failed to implement the Dashboard and Gantt Chart into my team s daily life. Without these management maintenance and planning tools our team seemed to be semi chaotic and unorganized at times, which lead to minor quality of work issues ultimately taking away from our outcomes as a team. • 7. Salem Witch Trials Essay The Salem Witch Trials was a very dark period in our history that occurred in the colony of Salem, Massachusetts. These trials began in February 1692 and ended in May of 1693. There were over two hundred individuals who were accused of practicing witchcraft. Of those two hundred accused, nearly twenty innocent souls were lost. This was one of the most severe cases of mass hysteria in recorded history. There was a great effort exhorted by the Massachusetts General Court to declare a guilty verdict, that the framers of the United States Constitution went to great lengths to never let this type of tragedy occur again; commonly known as the eighth amendment. Remarkably so, some may argue that there were similarities in Salem and the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... What would be considered mental disorders in today s society, no clear medical diagnosis could be deduced. Partly due to fear and also not being able to diagnose these fits, members of the community suspected witchcraft to be the culprit. Little did the community know what was about to transpire in their town over the next year. The Salem Witch Trials officially began in February 1692 when the afflicted girls accused Tituba, Ms. Good and Ms. Osborne of witchcraft. Tituba confessed to witchcraft. Not only did she confess, she also said there were many others who were working for Satan. This triggered the beginning and that is when the fears of the Salem colonists were realized. These girls did not all show symptoms at one time. The first girl to start experiencing symptoms was Betty Parris. She was followed by Abigail Williams, Ann Putnam Jr., Mary Walcott and Mercy Lewis (History of Massachusetts). These girls were throwing tantrums, hiding under furniture and contorting to pain. Since panic and fear set in, witchcraft was the easy choice to make. In today s medical science, these girls would have been diagnosed with boredom or epilepsy. Although at the time the cause was unknown, these symptoms were probably brought on from eating rye infected with fungus. The three victims were not the only ones accused. • 8. Harry S Truman Dbq Harry S. Truman On 8th of January 1947, at Harry S. Truman s first economic report as president to the congress of the United Sates, he said, America was not built on fear. America was built on courage, on imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand , but little did Truman know that these beliefs of his would become misunderstood and critiqued by the masses in coming times. When Harry S. Truman left the presidency in January 1953, he was one of the most unpopular politicians in the United States. However, this is unjustified as he was a real democrat for the people and was an honest president. Furthermore, he did not make many poor discussions nor was he inadequate leader, yet he got undeserved and bias criticism by the people of the United States. Truman continually faced tough challenges and had to pick up from where Franklin D. Roosevelt s unanticipated death left the nation in a mess. He was the Commander in Chief of the United States military during the final months of World War II. Under his command, the U.S. dropped two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan, effectively ending the war. For many Americans, Truman s legacy as the nation s leader centres on these controversial decisions. He had courage, imagination and an unbeatable determination to do the job at hand, yet he was branded as a bad president during his time. This title is a perfect overview of the subject of the book. Browning discussed Reserve Police Battalion 101 and the part it played in the World War II during the Holocaust, especially in the Final Solution , which was the attempted eradication of Jews. Not only does Browning discuss Battalion 101, but he uses them as an example of how ordinary people can commit atrocities such as mass murder. Christopher Browning is a professor of history at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma, Washington. He is considered an expert on the Holocaust and has written several acclaimed books covering this subject (Christopher R. Browning). To write this his book Ordinary Men, he relies on a collection of indictments and judgements that took place from 1962 to 1972 (Browning xvii). These cases that Browning studied are full of testimonies from Battalion 101 members. He writes Ordinary Men completely based on these testimonies and the conclusions that can be drawn from them. ... Islamism, as a basic feature of Muslim and especially Arab politics, and has played a major role in Iraqi politics. There are two branches of Islam present in Iraq, the Shiites (Or Shia) and Sunni. Similar to Iran and Bahrain, Iraq has a Shiites majority. This majority has, however, not been able to exercise much political power until the 2000 s, with the removal of President Saddam Hussein and his Sunni elite. Modern Iraq has a strong affinity between religious devotion and politics. Neighboring states were already moving quickly where possible to establish centers of influence within Iraq to prepare for the day when U.S. power departs. Iran supported Islamist movements among the Shia while Saudi Arabia and the Gulf States sought bolster Sunni forces in Iraq. The Islamists Shia and Sunni were not automatically hostile to the U.S. presence, especially since both gained from the overthrow of Saddam Hussein. But they were determined to retain the Muslim character of Iraq, especially in the face of non Muslim occupation, and cannot long support the U.S. presence. Since then I have narrowed this further and have specified that this would be for around the academic year 7 so around the age of 11 but would still be appropriate for 10 or 12 year olds. To achieve this aim the objectives will be for one to train in game development as well doing research to help establish the game mechanics or gamification elements wanted in the game. Different healthcare social media sites make it easier for consumers to locate the products and/or services they want to find. Successful healthcare social media sites are designed to be engaging, interactive and to create positive relationships with existing consumers. Then, potential new clients can make better purchasing decisions based on the first hand experience from others who have personal knowledge of the product or service. ROLE OF HEALTHCARE SOCIAL MEDIA The role of social media in healthcare follows the same principles as most other industries in terms of mass communication, global reach, engagement, and instantaneous feedback from and to a relevant group of people. • 19. Essay On Populism There are, of course, other definitions of populism that are worth at least exploring. One particularly popular book has been What is Populism by Princeton professor Jan Werner Müller. His definition asserts that Populism is a moralistic imagination of politics that is anti pluralist and claims exclusive representation of the people. (Müller 2016, Pg. 20) Ironically, he uses Wallace s Segregation forever comment to support this claim. We actually argue that this moment was the attaching of populism to nativist ideology in order to build a winning coalition (as is attested by Wallace himself), not an actual expression of populism itself (Rowan 1991). We reject his definition on several grounds. The first is the premise that populists must necessarily be anti pluralist. There is no ground in which this must be the case. In fact, populist voting populations must be pluralistic in and of themselves, because as he makes clear, there is no such thing as a homogenous people in existence. The only sense in which they are not plural is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... 3). Under this conceptualization the oft used term silent majority makes little sense in the reality of populism, if populist believe that they speak with the authority of everyone. This seems to be a convenient theoretical position, not an actual description of populism in the real world. This ironically, leads to him excluding the original American Populist party of the 1890 s from his own definition of Populism. Additionally, right wing populism surely differentiates between the elites themselves and those they view as below them. (See diadic [left wing] vs. triadic [right wing] populism.) Populism is about a claim to the volonte generale (general will), not the absolute will of the people. (Mudde and Kaltwasser 2017, pg. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 20. Essay on A Fictional Account of Early Iceland A Fictional Account of Early Iceland The origin and evolution of saga writing in Iceland are largely matters for speculation. A common pastime on Icelandic farms, from the 12th century down to modern times, was the reading aloud of stories to entertain the household, known as sagnaskemmtun ( saga entertainment ). It seems to have replaced the traditional art of storytelling (Hermann Palsson, pg. 1). Njal s Saga uses Old Icelandic writing convention and historical data to give a fictional account of a generation s lifestyle and struggles. Icelandic literature has become very valuable because historians have realized the great amount of truth that can be found in each saga. According to one historian, the sagas have proven to be ... An emphasis on dairy cattle and sheep meant that lamb and beef and dairy products such as cheese and whey were relatively plentiful, especially following good seasons (Gary Martin, pg. 2) Despite the abundance of food, as more settlers came, the resources were slowly depleted: The following episode from Grettir s Saga is likely to have been typical: as soon as Eirik knew that Onund had arrived he offered to give him anything he wanted, and added that there was not much land still unclaimed. Onund said he would like first to see what land was available. So they went south across the fjords, and when they reached Ofaera, Eirik said, Now you can have a look at it. From here on the land is unclaimed up to Bjorn s settlement. (Gary Martin, p.2). Clearly this famine was a historical, recorded event since there are also reports of a shortage of foodstuffs in Njal s Saga. This was a time of great famine in Iceland, and all over the country people were going short of hay and food (Njal s Saga, Ch. 47). So it is clear that Njal s Saga includes some factual information, yet still remains a fictional narrative. Instead of creating a form of law enforcement, the Icelanders usually took matters into their own hands. This is can be seen in the many killings that occur in Njal s Saga. By using semiconductor devices as switches power electronics circuits function, thereby controlling or modifying a voltage or current.Power electronics application range from high power conversion equipment such as dc power transmission to everyday appliances, such as cell phone chargers, cordless screwdrivers, power supplies for computers, and hybrid automobiles. These power converters are classified as rectifiers, AC voltage controllers, DC choppers and inverters, which covers wide area of residential, commercial and industrial applications, including computers, transportation and power utilizes [1]. Power electronic converters, especially DC/AC inverters have been extending their range of use in industrial application because they provide better system efficiency, reduced energy consumption and improved quality of power. In it, a pale blue whale of immense size surfaced and swam gently, like a dropping tear on a cheek. All the misery from around the world was drawn to the sea and formed its ripples. The whale swallowed the grief silently, from the northeast to the southwest, and the world was quiet and peaceful. Over time, the whale could no longer bear and hold the sorrows inside his body. The pain transformed and twisted into a long, grey tooth; it pierced through his forehead like a unicorn s horn. One day, people saw this anguished whale from the shore. They were amazed by a creature they had never seen before. They gazed at his splendid horn, and a strong greed grew inside of their hearts. Smoothed by long fingers, asleep ... tired ... or it malingers, stretched on the floor. (Eliot 75 78). This metaphor is being echoed through the passage, presenting an eerie and dark setting. This relates directly back to the reoccurring theme of death and isolation with his use of fearsome imagery. He obscures the long description of the sky using fragmentation, breaking up the different images into smaller parts and placing them in different stanzas in the passage. Another figure of speech used is personification. The yellow fog that rubs its back upon the window panes.
