An Anonymous Identity Through Online Social Media...
MDIA 103 Final Essay Name: Fiona Jessup
Student Number: 300355186
Tutor: Richard Shepherd
Due Date: June 15, 2015
Word Count: 2257 Research Question: Why are people, particularly college and high school students,
so attracted to the idea of constructing an anonymous identity through online social media platforms,
like Yik Yak? Online social networks have become increasingly populated arenas for much of today s
population, especially with regards to high school and college students. Networks such as Facebook,
Tumblr, Instagram, Vine, Twitter, etc., enable users to create an identity and present it to others by
allowing them to share various aspects of their lives. Because individuals select their own content, the
resulting representation can be either a true or imaginative reflection of the user. The attitudes,
perspectives, behaviours and actions each individual chooses to present, shape their identity within the
social media universe. Like most other web based content, the pursuit of authenticity is assumed to be
at the heart of these social media networks, playing an important role in our online interactions and
our decisions about what web content we believe to be reliable. But, what about when the network
structure allows users to create, post, and interact with anonymous identities? Anonymity eliminates
the need decipher authenticity, however, it creates an issue by protecting the negative actions of
empowered users.
Why are people, particularly college and high

Friends Stereotypes
Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry are just a few of the many stars in the hit
television series Friends, that strives to bring awareness to the hardships of adulthood, while also
exposing stereotypes. The show features six adults with an unbreakable friendship, who live in an
apartment building in Manhattan, New York City.
In each episode of this show, a new and unexpected event occurs to each one of the characters, that
will keep you guessing and dying to know what s going to happen next. Each episode is its own story,
and is not based off one another, so the worry of getting behind on this series is non existent. There are
a fair share of laughs, cries, and different emotions running through your head in every episode, and ...

First off, you have Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), a businessman with a sarcastic attitude. Then, you
have the siblings, Ross (David Schwimmer) and Monica Geller (Courtney Cox), who have a love hate
relationship. Ross is a Paleontologist, with an introverted personality and Monica is a chef, with a very
competitive attitude towards everything, and is also a neat freak. Then, there s the open and brutally
honest character, Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow). Phoebe is a massage therapist and an aspiring singer,
who would rather live each day to the fullest than have regrets. The fifth main character is the
fashionable, selfish, and confused Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston). Rachel s job is at Ralph Lauren,
and she is heavily dependant on her wealthy father. Finally, there s the actor Joey Tribbiani (Matt
Leblanc), who is a very social and humorous character, who never settles down in relationships.
These six friends formed a friendship right from the start despite their diverse personalities and
aspirations in life. This has a positive impact on society, by showing that you can be friends with
whoever you want, no matter what, and you shouldn t be characterized to who you should hang out
with. The characters in Friends are constantly hugging and thanking each other, and showing what true
friends are. In fact, Rachel said to her friend Monica, None of the amazing things that happened to me

Consequences Facing Assault Charges
As was discussed in a previous post, you could face assault charges in Colorado if you accidentally,
negligently or intentionally cause bodily injury to another person. The penalties you may face if
convicted of these charges vary depending on the type of assault you are charged with. Third degree,
second degree and first degree assault are different level charges, each carrying separate
consequences.
According to the Boulder County Bar Association, assault in the third degree is a class one
misdemeanor charge. A conviction of this charge could result in a prison sentence of up to two years.
Factors, including your criminal record, may affect the duration of your sentence. If, however, you
injure someone who is considered at risk, then the

Canon Of Police Ethics
According to Robert Peel, the London Police was a complete replica of military standards. They were
later given a nickname, known as bobbies or peelers named after Peel. Peel expected the officers to
prevent crime not by force but by a preventive patrol of the community (Bohm Haley, 2014, p. 141).
The twelve standards of policing (As noted on p. 141 of Introduction to Criminal Justice). When it
comes to policing Peel suggests officers should be stable, efficient, and organized in military lines. To
be stable and efficient as an officer one must have integrity, passion, and be proficient when
performing job description. The government asks that they remain under government control, the

The validity of psychological tests has been an issue for multiple decades. Psychologists are often
reluctant to rate with any specificity the police candidates they evaluate (Bohm Haley, 2014, p. 233).
It is difficult to validate one s claims of stress when it is used very loosely. The perceived stress scale
is dependent on how it affected them. A stress questionnaire will be given and put on file. The officers
will then visit a professional person such as doctors or therapists within five business days. Doctors
will measure the health aspect and therapists will get a feel of the stressors. Upon results filtering the

Spruce Goose Research Paper
When you think of aircraft, most likely you think of jets, helicopters, and maybe UFOs. The history of
flight has produced many varied designs because people did not know how to fly and there were
numerous ideas on how to make flight work. We are used to seeing jets and helicopters now, but in the
beginning, there were a variety of prototypes based on the needs at the time. There has actually been
fierce competition during the invention phases of planes. One thing that you will notice is that the
Hughes H4 Hercules, or Spruce Goose, as it was commonly known, is not included here. That is not to
say that it was not an amazine aircraft with an interesting history, and its story is actually similar to
many described here. However, the ones chosen are very peculiar looking by any standards, while the

the aircraft was intentionally stalled in the air to show that the parasol could act as a parachute and it

All About the Brake-Assist System Essay
The Brake Assisted System
The purpose of the brake assisted system
The purpose of the brake assisted system is assist when the user applies force to the brake pedal that is
not sufficient enough to stop the vehicle. Based on the speed and force to which the brake pedal is
pressed, the brake assisted system will detect if an emergency is taking place or could have taken
place. The brake assist system increases the brake pressure until the ABS regulation intervenes to
prevent the wheels from locking. This way the greatest possible braking effect can be achieved and the
brake path can be shortened significantly.
There are two types of brake assist system which are as follows:
1. The hydraulic brake assist system
2. The mechanical brake ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The trigger threshold is presented in the graph. In the green area above this trigger threshold, the brake
assist system is active. 1. Calculate the benefits of using brake assisted system.
Using brake assisted system can prevent your brakes and wheel from locking and furthermore causing
an accident to occur. In situation where the vehicle in front of you stop suddenly; the function of the
brake assisted system is to prevent you from losing control.
2. How much actually exert in the brake when using manual braking system?
If we were to take a look at a situation where the piston in the master cylinder is pushes 40mm with
10N force. It is understood that the slave piston will then move 10mm with a force of 40N. Now, that
force can be further increased by inserting a lever connected between piston, pedal and pivot point.
Note that, if the distance from the pedal to the pivot is 3 times the distance from the pivot to the
connected piston, then it multiplies the pedal force by a factor of 3, as the user is pushing down on the
pedal.
In case of a user who pushes pedal 120mm down with 10N force, 30N force will be applied to the
master piston and slave piston move the brake pad by 10mm of a force of 120N.
3. How much actually exert in the brake when using power system?

The Genovese Crime Family was formed in 1892 in the Bronx and East Harlem. Originally named the
107th Street gang it was founded by Guiseppe Morello and Ignazio the Wolf Lupo. The gang became
formally known as the Morello Gang, which took part in extortion, kidnappings, and robberies. The
gang had worked closely with the Camorra for years, but because of territory issues they soon
separated. When Morello and Lupo went to jail for extortion in 1909 the Camorra decided to kill off
any Morello members. Camorra had lost the war, but the Morello gang had lost the new boss Nicholas

The Common Characteristics Of Christianity And Christianity
One may argue that all religions are the same at the core, however different religions advances very
different teachings of the most important subject. That subject is how to achieve the goal of where you
will remain in the afterlife. Islam is one of the oldest religions practiced today. Zoroya (2015), Islam is
projected to grow more than twice as fast as any other major religion over the next half century
because of a higher fertility rate, While Christianity will remain a dominant global religion (para. 2).
Although there are many religions we will compare Islam with the common characteristics of other
major religions.
Common Characteristics
Muslims are people who submit to God and their religion is called Islam. Islam has a monotheism
faith believing in one God denouncing any other messiah or deity. Muslims often refer to God as
Allah, which is considered the universal God not be mistaken of a God of only the Islam faith. Islam is
based on one faith that God or Allah is the creator of the universe and his greatness cannot be
compared with his creation. God is the only one to be praised and only one deserving of worship.
Muslims believe God created man for one purpose, to worship him. Muslims refer to the Quran for
direction of how to live, worship, and carry out assignment to fulfill the requirements of life. This may
sound familiar to the Christian faith because according to Luke 4:8 in the Holy Bible, Jesus tells

Essay On Astrocytic Hamartomas
Astrocytic hamartomas are an abnormal proliferation of the macroglial astrocytic cells of the retinal
nerve fiber layer and are considered benign lesions1. They can be located anywhere within the retina,
however are often found at the optic nerve head2. Retinal astrocytic hamartomas are associated with a
variety of diseases, but may also be singular and idiopathic. The age of onset plays a crucial role in
differentiating the lesions and the course of treatment following diagnosis. Visual symptoms can range
from being asymptomatic, to mild visual disturbances, to enucleation in the worst cases which are
associated with systemic conditions. The appearance of astrocytic hamartomas are comparable to a

Retinal astrocytic hamartomas typically appear in the first or second decade of life5. Their appearance
is often white with a calcified appearance4 that can vary in size, with smaller lesions typically being
less defined and a translucent white color5. Larger nodules may have more opaque coloring and white
nodules in the inner retina; another common description for astrocytic hamartomas that are larger is
white mulberry appearance5. The age of onset and diseases associated allow prediction of
transformation5. Larger lesions with a later onset typically remain stable, especially if the subject is
over 25 years old5. It s expected that if the lesion is recorded at a young age, it may go under small
changes and enlarge5. Retinal astrocytic hamartomas can be a congenital or acquired finding. It is a
common finding with a systemic diseases such as tuberous sclerosis, retinitis pigmentosa, or
neurofibromatosis1. Systemic disorders will typically result in bilateral and multiple astrocytic
hamartomas ,whereas idiopathic findings in a normal person will often result in unilateral and single

Benefits Of Being A Radiologist
A radiologist is someone who looks at medical images (such as X Rays, Computerized Tomography
scans, ultrasounds, and Magnetic Resonance Imaging) and uses it to detect medical problems. Some of
the duties that radiologists perform include: diagnosing illnesses and treating patients using medical
radiation. A radiologist can work at a public or private hospital or set up their own clinic. Working
conditions for a radiologist who is employed at a hospital will not differ much from a clinic. You will
not have to work not shifts or weekends just like a clinic. Residents usually take care of those shifts.
Some of the skills that are essential for becoming a radiologist include being good following
directions, taking the time to be precise in your measurements and having good communication skills.
I am really good at following directions as I am always scared of the outcome of messing up. I also
take the time to measure things out very carefully unless I am positive that tweaking things a little bit
might result in a better outcome. I do have good communication skills when I am talking directly to a
person in front of me but when I am writing an email I don t seem to describe things in as much detail
as I should. One of the ways to work on this is to ask myself the five W s (Who, What, When, Where,
Why) when writing my email to someone. To become a radiologist one of the first steps that you must
take is to attend college and obtain a bachelor degree in biology or physics. After

Exercise two is the study of the arrival of a small pack of wolves to Isle Royal after a frozen portion of
lake superior allowed them to cross from Canada. Like in Exercise one, a simulation is done again

Merger and alliances to create new routes from Gatwick.
2.1 BRITISH MERGER AND ALLIANCES
The new group will combine the two companies in the UK and Spain and will enhance their presence
in the international long haul markets while retaining the individual brands and current positions of
each airline. British Airways and Iberia hope their new company International Airlines Group,
International Airlines Group, will position the pair for further consolidation in the global airline sector
as it emerges from a prolonged industry downturn and hope to compete with multinational rivals Air
France KLM and Lufthansa.
From a personal analysis it seems that the merger is likely to be more strategic for both companies as
Iberia is more dominant in South American destinations and British Airways flies to only three South
American destinations. The key benefit of the merger to BA would be the access to South America.
Similarly, Iberia will gain from BA s more extensive North American operations, with the two carriers
able to share information on fares, schedules and routes. They have identified Latin America as a
growth market, one where BA is under represented.
Willie Walsh has drawn a list of 12 possible airlines BA could merge with once the America airlines
and Iberia tie ups are completed. The choice of merging is positive in a sense that it will increase the
market share and BA has promised cheaper fares and even more jobs as part of a route sharing deal

Contradictions In The Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
Coleridge s Brilliant Views of Life
In Coleridge s The Rime of the Ancient Mariner the audience will be indulged into an enduring tale.
As old as the poem is, it can be surprising that the popularity has withheld if not risen. The
contradictions that detailed throughout the poem lead the audience through a series of the supernatural
and large disbelief. Thus, Without someone to explain these accounts in person, the interpretation is
left up to the audience. One might be caught in the same thoughts as the wedding guest when reading
the poem, such as amazement, horror, and incredulity. Like this wedding guest was seemingly
hypnotized from listening, the reader was confounded to continue reading. The reader will be affected

These personifications used by Coleridge are not unheard of; however, they act as a guideline to
describe the inanimate and animate. An Albatross is a truly living creature in comparison to an
inanimate object such as a rock. The ancient mariner destroys this contradiction in his act of killing the
Albatross. Coleridge masterfully pushes the boundaries of what is actually living and the supernatural,
by granting life to the inanimate and death to the animate. Shortly, after the death of the Albatross the
extraordinary bad luck of the sailors changes for the better, and they now capable of navigating
themselves out of the treacherous ice caps towards the equator. Once at the equator the men are now
under new drastic circumstances, while on calm seas, they are completely out of drinking water.
Coleridge continues to personify the sea, The very deep did rot: O Christ!/... / Upon the slimy sea./

details the ocean and the living creatures that live inside, and in doing so he is

Liar Liar Pants On Fire Analysis
Liar Liar, Pants on Fire my kindergarten friends used to tease. I liked the phrase, though. Not because
it stopped people from lying, but because I knew that lying wouldn t set my pants on fire, so I could
lie all that I wanted with no repercussions. The way that we perceive lying is pretty funny. Everyone
knows that it s a bad thing to do, and yet, we justify it with the concept of white lies . And maybe it s
this notion that there exists a form of lying that isn t bad that alleviates the stigma on lying for me.
Perhaps that s what makes Huck feel so justified when he lies too.
And this notion that lying is acceptable is terribly toxic. Because of one or two instances in which
there may be a benefit to lying, this acts as a gateway to widespread lying. And that poisons one s self

temptation will surround me in ways in which I don t even realize, and that attempting to fight back is

country estate. He is a man, who uses his own experiences of war to compose poems, poems reflecting
his thoughts and emotions of the horror and futility towards war.
The two poems The Hero and Does It Matter? best represent the horror and futility or the war. The two
poems show Siegfried Sassoon s view on war and how useless it is and also displays the consequences
of war for the ones who made it back home. The poems aim to make the audience feel guilt and

impressed me about the class was her easy rapport with the students. Mrs. Sandoval explained to me
that a goal she sets for herself as an educator is to build the student teacher interrelationship,

respond better. She feels that it creates a more comfortable learning environment. As per her students,

First recorded in 1931 by Oswald George Nelson, known as Ozzie Nelson, with his orchestra, Dream
a Little Dream of Me came into existence. Two days later, after Ozzie Nelson had recorded Dream a

The music composers of Dream a Little Dream of Me , were Fabian Andre and Wilber Schwandt.
Where and when Andre and Schwandt composed the song has caused some confusion. At one time
Schwandt recalled composing the tune during a short 10 minute break where their band was touring in
Paw Paw, Michigan. Another time Schwandt said it was composed when they were in Milwaukee.
Gus s son Donald speaks about the music in an interview and credits Andre and Schwandt for their
musical ability and discusses the bridge in the Dream a Little Dream of Me song where it goes to a
whole new unusual key.
The Performer(s):
There are a variety of performers of the song Dream a Little Dream of Me . However, the bestselling
and one that brought the song to popularity in the 1960 s was Cass Elliott of the well known group
called The Mamas and The Papa s. The band sang manly a mixture of folk and pop genre in the 1960s.
The voice of the group that stands out and was used for many solos was Cass Elliott otherwise known
as Mama Cass. The group consisted of John Phillips, who was the leader of the band and his wife

Fitness is determined by the ability of an organism to survive, grow, and reproduce in a particular
habitat. You have probably heard the term survival of the ļ¬ttest, but if an organism is not able to also
grow and reproduce, it will not be able to pass any of its alleles (genetic information) on to its
oļ¬€spring. An organism that has high ļ¬tness does well in its habitat and passes those favorable alleles
onto its oļ¬€spring when it reproduces.
Go back and review the habitats you described in Exercise ļ™„ and think about the factors that would be
important for plant ļ¬tness. Then list the ecological diļ¬€erences between North Carolina and Minnesota
that might aļ¬€ect the ļ¬tness of each variant. In other words which factors might increase plant growth,

During the performance evaluation before his supposed promotion to the managing director or partner
of the firm, Parson is credited for his good marketing skills, knowledge of the market and product,
aggressiveness in making the deals with clients, his ability to cross sell products to the clients. But he
also got some very negative comments for being judgmental, not being a team player, not being
professional at times. Nasr, though, defended that Parson is still young in MG and needed time to
align himself with the firm s values. Problem Definition Nasr is staring down the barrel on whether to
promote Parson as a Managing Director/Partner of the firm or give him more time. He also did not
want to lose Parson who might leave the firm if he did not get the promotion. Options Nasr has three
ways of coming out of this quagmire: a. Promote Parson and assume that he will get better with time.

Lego As A Plastic Injection Machine For Toy Production Essay
We all know the classic Legos bricks, but Lego has not always been this well loved toy. Originally
Lego was a carpentry business in 1932. It created wooden toys such as a wooden duck. It s first
construction toy was the Kirk s Sandgame (Lego, 2012).
By 1946 Lego was creating wooden bricks with decorations such as letters and figures. Following
World War II plastics became available in Denmark (Wikipedia, 2016). This same year Lego Group
purchased its first plastic injection molding machine for toy production (Hansen, 1982). The machine
did not arrive until a year later (Lego, 2012). With the machine Lego started building items such as a
plastic fish, a plastic sailor, and the game Tiddlywinks (Lego, 2012). One of the first modular toys to
be produced was a truck that could be taken apart and re assembled (Wikipedia, 2016). With the new
machine Lego received several sample parts showing its capabilities. Among these samples were
Hilary Fisher Page s Kiddicraft Self Locking Building Brick (The Automatic Binding Brick, n.d.).
From those samples Lego created its first Automatic Binding Brick with four and eight studs (Lego,
2012). They had taken the Kiddicraft brick and modified it by straightening the round corners and
converting inches to cm and mm. The studs on the bricks were also flattened on top (The Automatic
Binding Brick, n.d.). The Automatic Binding Bricks were 2 Ɨ 2 and 2 Ɨ 4 bricks with 2 side slits and 2

Using Brute Force Algorithm For The Quality Of Ultrasound...
Abstract: In general, the main problem in ultrasound images is reduction of noise and problem is more
severe when the noise is multiplicative in nature. In this paper, we present a novel method to combine
different filter using brute force algorithm to enhance the quality of ultra sound image. This method is
divided into two parts i.e. pre processing and brute force algorithm. In pre processing median filter
,fuzzy filter which will evaluate the different characteristics as noisy, homogeneous, and edge and
Savitzky golay method were applied which gives smooth image while preserving shape and height of
the Ultrasound image. Secondly, Savitzky golay filtered image and fuzzy filtered image were
decomposed into different wavelet sub bands using directional dependent mask and finding out the
better threshold value of each band by using brute force algorithm. Evaluation of the method based on
different parameters show that proposed method can improve the quality of Ultrasound image. Key
Terms: Directional dependent mask, non decimated wavelet transform, fuzzy filter, Savitzky Golay
filter.

Comparison Of Sympathy And Caged Bird
There have been many injustices throughout history, like slavery and discrimination; this is the time
where two poems take place; Sympathy and Caged Bird . Maya Angelou and Paul Laurence Dunbar
describe how it is like to be discriminated and separated, through their poems Sympathy and Caged
Bird . However, they did not convene to generate these poems. Dunbar innovated the metaphor of a
caged bird and discrimination. In her poem Caged Bird debuted in 1969, Maya Angelou writes about a
character that is a caged bird who cannot fly and is separated from other birds. Paul Laurence Dunbar
also writes of the struggle of a caged bird, who cannot become free even after eating the bars of his
cage, in his poem Sympathy broached in 1889. Both writers explain the situations of caged birds and
their desires to be free. In the poems Sympathy and Caged Bird , caged birds both sing for freedom,
however, one is more confined than the other; Caged Bird is more meaningful, because the bird is
unable to fly, and is emotionally affected by that.

The bird in Sympathy is able to fly. I know why the caged bird beats his wing/...for he must fly back
to his perch and cling (8, 10). The caged bird has enough freedom to be able to fly and try to break
down his cage. Therefore, the bird has more freedom. In conflict, the bird in Caged Bird has less
freedom and is more confined in his cage. But a bird that stalks/ down his narrow cage/ can seldom
see through his bars of rage (8 11). The bird cannot fly in his very small cage; this makes attacking his
cage very difficult. On the contrary, the caged bird in Sympathy can fight his cage, while the bird in
Caged Bird is diffident and doesn t have enough space to do so. The bird in Sympathy is able to fly
and fight the bars of misery; while the bird in Caged Bird cannot do because his cage is

Queen Elizabeth As A Ruler For England
Even today, there are many who doubt the capability of a woman in a position of authority. When
Elizabeth was appointed the Queen of England in a Constitutional Monarchy, many subjects of the
English state did not respect her. This was in part due to her sister Mary s previous failings as a ruler
for England, as well as misogynistic assumptions about a woman s ability to rule that were especially
prevalent at this time in Western Europe. Throughout her 50 years of reign, Elizabeth not only
managed to assert herself as a cunning and capable leader and Queen, but also gained the love of the
English people. It was through the way Elizabeth saw herself as a religious figure that she
accomplished this feat. Although Queen Elizabeth used masculine traits to assert dominance, she saw
that it was her femininity that gave her the real advantage by creating her image after the Virgin Mary.
Since she began her reign, Queen Elizabeth was highly aware that portraying aspects of masculinity
would be beneficial to gaining the respect of her subjects. When England was awaiting a possible
invasion by the Spanish Armada, the state of England s defenses was poor and the outlook was grim.
In spite of this, Elizabeth personally delivered an inspiring speech to the troops, and in the process
took on a masculine role by doing so. I myself will take up arms, I myself will be your general, judge,
and rewarder ( Speech to the Troops at Tillbury ). She tells her warriors that when they need her the

Emperor Claudius Essay
Introduction
Tiberius Claudius Nero Germanicus (b. 10 BC, d. 54 A.D.; emperor, 41 54 A.D.) was the third
emperor of the Julio Claudian dynasty. His reign represents a turning point in the history of the
Principate for a number of reasons, not the least for the manner of his accession and the implications it
carried for the nature of the office. During his reign he promoted administrators who did not belong to
the senatorial or equestrian classes, and was later vilified by authors who did. He followed Caesar in
carrying Roman arms across the English Channel into Britain but, unlike his predecessor, he initiated
the full scale annexation of Britain as a province, which remains today the most closely studied corner
of the Roman Empire. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nevertheless, Claudius spent his entire childhood and youth in almost complete seclusion. The normal
tasks of an imperial prince came and went without official notice, and Claudius received no summons
to public office or orders to command troops on the frontiers
How he spent the voluminous free time of his youth is revealed by his later character: he read
voraciously. He became a scholar of considerable ability and composed works on all subjects in the
liberal arts, especially history; he was the last person known of who could read Etruscan. These skills,
and the knowledge of governmental institutions he acquired from studying history, were to stand him
in good stead when he came to power.
His father died on campaign when Claudius was only one year old, and his brother, Germanicus,
succumbed under suspicious circumstances in AD 19. His only other sibling to reach adulthood,
Livilla, became involved with Sejanus and fell from grace in AD 31. Through all this turmoil Claudius
survived, primarily through being ignored as an embarrassment and an idiot.
Claudius s fortunes changed somewhat when his unstable nephew, Gaius (Caligula), came to power in
the spring of 37 A.D. Gaius, it seems, liked to use his bookish, frail uncle as the butt of cruel jokes
and, in keeping with this pattern of behavior, promoted him to a consulship on 1 July 37 A.D. At 46
years of age, it was Claudius s first public office. Despite this sortie into public life, he seemed

Eating Meat: Biological Necessity, or Choice? The first article I chose to use for my research paper, is
from the scientific journal American Scientist, called Meat Eating Among the Earliest Humans,
written by Briana Pobiner who is a paleoanthropologist at the Smithsonian s National Museum of
Natural History. In this article, Pobiner discusses the biological evolution of humans, how human meat
consumption evolved over time to facilitate the growth of human brain size to become the intelligent
and sentient beings we are today, and whether or not we still need to eat meat as our ancestors did.
Pobiner references many other scientists observations and discoveries. For example, she uses the
observations of a Mister Sherwood Washburn from the University of California at Berkeley to
expound upon how early findings of human meat consumptions may have been wrong. According to
Washburn, most current carnivores leave the skull and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

humanity of eating meat into the equation. So as my research essay moves from the human biological
need, or lack thereof, to consume meat, this article will help me bridge the gap because of the wide
variety of opinions and facts that are presented within it. It will help my research paper immensely
that Yount took the time to ask questions often posed to vegetarians, omnivores, and so on, so as to not

Boy Scouts Expectations
When I was in the sixth grade I decided to join the boy scouts, my reasoning was simple. I thought it
would be beneficial when I would apply to High Schools and it would look paramount on my resume.
I also thought that it would be a great opportunity to learn and develop more qualities within myself. I
learned numerous life skills and procedures that will play an important role in specific scenarios that
will occur throughout my life time. Gaining all this excess knowledge will only expand my mindset
and create a better version of me. Currently I am in the eighth grade and my reasoning has changed
dramatically. While some of my peers have made the choice to leave the boy scouts, I have remained
steadfast in my quest to become and eagle scout.

How Does Dory Use Humor In Finding Nemo
Hi, I m Dory, and I suffer from short term memory loss. Former audience of the movie Finding Nemo
will not be unfamiliar towards Dory the bubbly, helplessly forgetful comic relief of the movie.
Thirteen years after the release of Finding Nemo, Dory gets her own movie Finding Dory. Just like its
predecessor, Finding Dory serves as a wonderful family movie. Viewers take an adventure through the
vast marine world through the movie, learning facts about sea creatures while following the movie s
exciting plot. People definitely should not give Finding Dory a miss as its touching storyline shows
ties of kinship and friendship between the characters, teaches audience about the underwater world,
and comes with a load of humor. First, the characters of Finding Dory reflect kinship and friendship
among one another. Sometime after Finding Nemo, Dory recalls memories about her own family. She
then convinces her clownfish friends Marlin and Nemo, whom she befriended in the prequel, into
accompanying her across the ocean to find her parents. Subsequently, as she grows closer to finding
her family, she meets other friends, both new and old. For example, an octopus who provides her
transport when she is on land; and a whale shark, her childhood friend who gives her information on

As such, creators of the movie took the opportunity to expose the watchers to interesting facts about

have three hearts, and the beluga whale s ability to use echolocation provides it with the most
powerful pair of glasses. These are just two of the many facts about sea creatures mentioned.
Therefore, Finding Dory is a worthwhile movie to watch because of the educational purpose it

Reflection Of Les Christes
Les Choristes was first released in 2004; directed by Christophe Barratier. Produced in Germany,
Switzerland, and France. A French film that includes the battle between troubled children, and the
headmaster Rachin. And others involved whom reside within the building known as the Bottom of the
Pond. Between all chaos and resentment; something inside the children sparks a passion for music
thanks to a new supervisor named Clemente Mathieu. By far my favorite scene in the film I watched
on June 22, 2017; will be when Clemente Mathieu focuses his attention on one particular child named
Pierre Morhange. I found the song Vois Sur Ton Chemin ; sung by Pierre Morhange, and the rest of
the choir in the film Les Choristes breath taking. I was simply fascinated due to the discovery of a
troubled child who possesses such talent buried within him (p.4).
One reason I found Vois Sur Ton Chemin fascinating was that the sounds of the chorus were soothing
and melodic. It made my heart feel a burst of happiness listening to a chorus sung with so much
passion. The passion that is looked upon the troubled children s face such as Pierre, and the rest of the
children in the choir. Troubled and impatient the children remain, but as soon as they aligned into their
position and sung along; a drastic change is immediately taken that conveys each s talent throughout
their distinctive vocal cords.

The Emotions And Perceptions Of Our Mind
When we consider the sensations and perceptions of our mind we find that there are a lot of
connections. The pathways that connect our eyes, our nose, and our ears to our brain are very
complicated. Therefor I have explained them to you in the following paragraphs. We then moved on to
advertisements and how they connect to our sensations.
The rods of the eye connect with the bipolar cells. The bipolar cells connect to the ganglion cells. The
ganglion cells connect to the optic nerve. the ganglion cell and the optic nerve together form the blind
spot. Then everything heads out to the optic chiasm and into the brain where it splits into two parts
and then reconnects at the back of the brain in the Occipital Lobe.
Sound can be found in waves. These waves travel from the outer ear to the eardrum. There are three
bones inside of the eardrum: the hammer, the anvil, and the stirrup. The sound waves then travel
through towards the inner ear. The stirrup is connected to the membrane known as the oval window.
The sound vibrations travel through the oval window to the structure called the cochlea. The cochlea
is divided by the basilar membrane. The organ of Corti can be found on top of the basilar membrane.
There are fibers located through the inner ear and when the sound vibrations enter the ear the fibers
begin to vibrate and send the signal to the auditory nerve. Thus producing sound that is interpreted in
the brain.
When we take breath through our nose we take in twelve million

The Importance Of Being A Physical Therapist
1. A couple of years ago, I have decided that being a physical therapist was what I wanted to do for my

to put what I am doing down and go over there and help them.I have always wanted to find a way to
help out the community and I figured becoming a physical therapist what right for me. I have always
wanted to become one but I never could decide when I was younger. My mom told me that I could

Essay On Tiananmen Square Incident
Furthermore, Capitalism with Chinese characteristics demonstrates the implications that Tiananmen
Square incident of 1989 had on shaping china s domestic policies, which are closely linked to shaping
their foreign policies. Over the course of this class we have seen the heightened tensions in relations
between China and the international community. In the early 1990s, China began diplomacy with
neighboring countries, beginning by normalizing diplomatic relations. This trend would continuously
develop in the late 1990s. It can be seen as a reaction to China s escape from its international isolation
that followed the hostile international environment shaped by the Western nations criticism and
sanctions following the Tiananmen Square incident ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Furthermore, the argument that china experienced opportunity costs as a result of the urban state
centric growth model remains convincing, as the Chinese economy and society deteriorated as a result
of these reforms. Some of the greatest costs endured were stagnant household income, increased
illiteracy and collapse of health care systems which Huang clearly rests the blame on the1990s
reforms. On the other hand, I feel that Huang does not explore the nature of why the Chinese
government employed economic reforms that shifted more focus on urban areas. The decentralized
policies pursued in the 1980s led to a decrease in government revenue and periods of increased
inflation, which caused major urban demonstrations. The reforms of the 1990s were a reaction to
consequences of the 1980s, the Chinese government almost had to employ these new reforms in order
to mitigate demonstrators, solve the economic problems brought on by the 1980s and legitimize its
power. Huang place too much focus on the leadership change post Tiananmen as reason for increased
urban shift. In addition, I am not fully convinced after reading Huang s Capitalism with Chinese
characteristics that China could have continued the course of the 1980s, as a country s economy grows
it is expected that there will be a shift

Nucleophilic Substitution Lab Report
Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution is the substitution of one functional group for another functional
group. The substitution is made at a saturated carbon atom. A saturated carbon is a carbon atom that is
sp3 hybridized. For a compound to be considered a nucleophile they must possess certain properties.
Nucleophiles must contain at least one pair of non bonding electrons and be neutral or have a negative
charge. Through nucleophilic substitution the non bonding electrons are donated to the electrophile.
The leaving group can also be either neutral or have a negative charge. Said leaving group must also
accept a pair of bonding electrons from the carbon atom that the leaving group was attached to (1).
The electrons are pulled as the bond between the carbon atom and the leaving group breaks. Some
leaving groups are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

It is understood that the slave piston will then move 10mm with a force of 40N. Now, that force can be further increased by inserting a lever connected between piston, pedal and pivot point. Note that, if the distance from the pedal to the pivot is 3 times the distance from the pivot to the connected piston, then it multiplies the pedal force by a factor of 3, as the user is pushing down on the pedal. In case of a user who pushes pedal 120mm down with 10N force, 30N force will be applied to the master piston and slave piston move the brake pad by 10mm of a force of 120N. 3. Some of the duties that radiologists perform include: diagnosing illnesses and treating patients using medical radiation. A radiologist can work at a public or private hospital or set up their own clinic. Working conditions for a radiologist who is employed at a hospital will not differ much from a clinic. You will not have to work not shifts or weekends just like a clinic. Residents usually take care of those shifts. Some of the skills that are essential for becoming a radiologist include being good following directions, taking the time to be precise in your measurements and having good communication skills. I am really good at following directions as I am always scared of the outcome of messing up. I also take the time to measure things out very carefully unless I am positive that tweaking things a little bit might result in a better outcome. I do have good communication skills when I am talking directly to a person in front of me but when I am writing an email I don t seem to describe things in as much detail as I should. One of the ways to work on this is to ask myself the five W s (Who, What, When, Where, Why) when writing my email to someone. Abstract: In general, the main problem in ultrasound images is reduction of noise and problem is more severe when the noise is multiplicative in nature. In this paper, we present a novel method to combine different filter using brute force algorithm to enhance the quality of ultra sound image. This method is divided into two parts i.e. pre processing and brute force algorithm. In pre processing median filter ,fuzzy filter which will evaluate the different characteristics as noisy, homogeneous, and edge and Savitzky golay method were applied which gives smooth image while preserving shape and height of the Ultrasound image. Secondly, Savitzky golay filtered image and fuzzy filtered image were decomposed into different wavelet sub bands using directional dependent mask and finding out the better threshold value of each band by using brute force algorithm. Evaluation of the method based on different parameters show that proposed method can improve the quality of Ultrasound image. When Elizabeth was appointed the Queen of England in a Constitutional Monarchy, many subjects of the English state did not respect her. This was in part due to her sister Mary s previous failings as a ruler for England, as well as misogynistic assumptions about a woman s ability to rule that were especially prevalent at this time in Western Europe. Throughout her 50 years of reign, Elizabeth not only managed to assert herself as a cunning and capable leader and Queen, but also gained the love of the English people. It was through the way Elizabeth saw herself as a religious figure that she accomplished this feat. Although Queen Elizabeth used masculine traits to assert dominance, she saw that it was her femininity that gave her the real advantage by creating her image after the Virgin Mary. Since she began her reign, Queen Elizabeth was highly aware that portraying aspects of masculinity would be beneficial to gaining the respect of her subjects. When England was awaiting a possible invasion by the Spanish Armada, the state of England s defenses was poor and the outlook was grim. In spite of this, Elizabeth personally delivered an inspiring speech to the troops, and in the process took on a masculine role by doing so. He became a scholar of considerable ability and composed works on all subjects in the liberal arts, especially history; he was the last person known of who could read Etruscan. These skills, and the knowledge of governmental institutions he acquired from studying history, were to stand him in good stead when he came to power. Gaining all this excess knowledge will only expand my mindset and create a better version of me. Currently I am in the eighth grade and my reasoning has changed dramatically. While some of my peers have made the choice to leave the boy scouts, I have remained steadfast in my quest to become and eagle scout. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. How Does Dory Use Humor In Finding Nemo Hi, I m Dory, and I suffer from short term memory loss. Former audience of the movie Finding Nemo will not be unfamiliar towards Dory the bubbly, helplessly forgetful comic relief of the movie. Thirteen years after the release of Finding Nemo, Dory gets her own movie Finding Dory. Just like its predecessor, Finding Dory serves as a wonderful family movie. Viewers take an adventure through the vast marine world through the movie, learning facts about sea creatures while following the movie s exciting plot. People definitely should not give Finding Dory a miss as its touching storyline shows ties of kinship and friendship between the characters, teaches audience about the underwater world, and comes with a load of humor. First, the characters of Finding Dory reflect kinship and friendship among one another. Sometime after Finding Nemo, Dory recalls memories about her own family. She then convinces her clownfish friends Marlin and Nemo, whom she befriended in the prequel, into accompanying her across the ocean to find her parents. Subsequently, as she grows closer to finding her family, she meets other friends, both new and old. For example, an octopus who provides her transport when she is on land; and a whale shark, her childhood friend who gives her information on what ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 33. Reflection Of Les Christes Les Choristes was first released in 2004; directed by Christophe Barratier. Produced in Germany, Switzerland, and France. A French film that includes the battle between troubled children, and the headmaster Rachin. And others involved whom reside within the building known as the Bottom of the Pond. Between all chaos and resentment; something inside the children sparks a passion for music thanks to a new supervisor named Clemente Mathieu. By far my favorite scene in the film I watched on June 22, 2017; will be when Clemente Mathieu focuses his attention on one particular child named Pierre Morhange. I found the song Vois Sur Ton Chemin ; sung by Pierre Morhange, and the rest of the choir in the film Les Choristes breath taking. I was simply fascinated due to the discovery of a troubled child who possesses such talent buried within him (p.4). One reason I found Vois Sur Ton Chemin fascinating was that the sounds of the chorus were soothing and melodic. It made my heart feel a burst of happiness listening to a chorus sung with so much passion. The passion that is looked upon the troubled children s face such as Pierre, and the rest of the children in the choir. Troubled and impatient the children remain, but as soon as they aligned into their position and sung along; a drastic change is immediately taken that conveys each s talent throughout their distinctive vocal cords. Clemente Mathieu is a new supervisor; who replaced a previous teacher. He is a middle aged man trying ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. The Emotions And Perceptions Of Our Mind When we consider the sensations and perceptions of our mind we find that there are a lot of connections. The pathways that connect our eyes, our nose, and our ears to our brain are very complicated. Therefor I have explained them to you in the following paragraphs. We then moved on to advertisements and how they connect to our sensations. The rods of the eye connect with the bipolar cells. The bipolar cells connect to the ganglion cells. The ganglion cells connect to the optic nerve. the ganglion cell and the optic nerve together form the blind spot. Then everything heads out to the optic chiasm and into the brain where it splits into two parts and then reconnects at the back of the brain in the Occipital Lobe. Sound can be found in waves. These waves travel from the outer ear to the eardrum. There are three bones inside of the eardrum: the hammer, the anvil, and the stirrup. The sound waves then travel through towards the inner ear. The stirrup is connected to the membrane known as the oval window. The sound vibrations travel through the oval window to the structure called the cochlea. The cochlea is divided by the basilar membrane. The organ of Corti can be found on top of the basilar membrane. There are fibers located through the inner ear and when the sound vibrations enter the ear the fibers begin to vibrate and send the signal to the auditory nerve. Thus producing sound that is interpreted in the brain. When we take breath through our nose we take in twelve million ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. The Importance Of Being A Physical Therapist 1. A couple of years ago, I have decided that being a physical therapist was what I wanted to do for my profession in the future. I have always wanted to become one but I never could decide when I was younger. My mom told me that I could become if I just put my mind to it and never give up. Some physical therapists work normal business hours, 8 a.m. 5 p.m., but also some may work in the evenings or even on the weekends. I would prefer the normal business hours and some hours on the weekend just because if someone had missed their appointment during the week and they cannot make it up, they can come on the weekend. 8. Essay On Tiananmen Square Incident Furthermore, Capitalism with Chinese characteristics demonstrates the implications that Tiananmen Square incident of 1989 had on shaping china s domestic policies, which are closely linked to shaping their foreign policies. Over the course of this class we have seen the heightened tensions in relations between China and the international community. In the early 1990s, China began diplomacy with neighboring countries, beginning by normalizing diplomatic relations. This trend would continuously develop in the late 1990s. It can be seen as a reaction to China s escape from its international isolation that followed the hostile international environment shaped by the Western nations criticism and sanctions following the Tiananmen Square incident ... Furthermore, the argument that china experienced opportunity costs as a result of the urban state centric growth model remains convincing, as the Chinese economy and society deteriorated as a result of these reforms. Some of the greatest costs endured were stagnant household income, increased illiteracy and collapse of health care systems which Huang clearly rests the blame on the1990s reforms. On the other hand, I feel that Huang does not explore the nature of why the Chinese government employed economic reforms that shifted more focus on urban areas. The decentralized policies pursued in the 1980s led to a decrease in government revenue and periods of increased inflation, which caused major urban demonstrations. The reforms of the 1990s were a reaction to consequences of the 1980s, the Chinese government almost had to employ these new reforms in order to mitigate demonstrators, solve the economic problems brought on by the 1980s and legitimize its power. Huang place too much focus on the leadership change post Tiananmen as reason for increased urban shift. In addition, I am not fully convinced after reading Huang s Capitalism with Chinese characteristics that China could have continued the course of the 1980s, as a country s economy grows it is expected that there will be a shift ... • 37. Nucleophilic Substitution Lab Report Nucleophilic aliphatic substitution is the substitution of one functional group for another functional group. The substitution is made at a saturated carbon atom. A saturated carbon is a carbon atom that is sp3 hybridized. For a compound to be considered a nucleophile they must possess certain properties. Nucleophiles must contain at least one pair of non bonding electrons and be neutral or have a negative charge. Through nucleophilic substitution the non bonding electrons are donated to the electrophile. The leaving group can also be either neutral or have a negative charge. Said leaving group must also accept a pair of bonding electrons from the carbon atom that the leaving group was attached to (1). The electrons are pulled as the bond between the carbon atom and the leaving group breaks. Some leaving groups are ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Safety is a priority. If sulfuric acid is spilled and comes in contact with skin, the area should be washed with cold water and then with a dilute sodium bicarbonate solution. The original solution once the 1 butanol, hydrobromic acid, and sulfuric acid were added was yellow orange in color. After distilling the distillate was clear then became partially cloudy. The calculated yield of the product was approximately 5.41%. The calculated yield was low due to a fluctuating temperature during the reaction and possible impurities formed. The presence of tertiary alcohols creates an increase in the competitive elimination reaction when treated with phosphorus trihalides. To produce a decent yield of tertiary alkyl halides the tertiary alcohols should be treated with concentrated hydrogen halides (1).
