Difficulties In The Outsiders
Many teens today face many difficulties similar to the teens in the novel The Outsiders in their
everyday life. It can be very hard for teens and some adults don t do enough to help them. Three of the
many difficulties teens today and teens in The Outsiders are lack of sleep, mental abuse, and
relationships. Every teenager have problems, not just one and adults aren t doing enough to help these
teens to get through them. Many teens struggle with lack of sleep due to having a tremendous amount
of homework. Homework is one of the main things that lead to teenage stress. It keeps kids from
doing what they enjoy and what interests them, they end up staying up all night trying to finish.
Various teens also have to do sports or after school activities. Although, these activities are fun it takes
up a lot of their time. While combining homework and sports leaves no time for friends to come over
and hangout. Now the last thing is texting with friends or also known as gossip. Teens love to gossip
so after they get all of their homework done they go to bed and txt and before they know it its

Kid s everyday get bullied, made fun of, and teased. Being bullied is not a good feeling, it takes away
your self esteem and often leads to depression. Sometimes it goes far enough that kids choose take
their own life because of the things that are happening at school. Another thing is their body image or
reputation, some care to much about how they look and what people think of them. They get into
binge eating, weight loss pills, and many other harmful things to their bodies. Finally, there is peer
pressure, friends persuade people to do things they normally wouldn t do. They are easy to be
manipulated because of the friendship the two have. Peer pressure can really hurt yourself and others.
The result can be drugs, alcohol, or even sexual

2.1 Solution Design
Proposed Approach addresses the above gaps and gives the LM the visibility to select the best talent.
We would require the following code changes to change the URL(Content Server) for the each
document.
For LM the each document link is coming from the Content server and the same link we are passing to
open the attachments and while saving the documents, filename is taking as system id. To over ride
this functionality we used the Link to Action UI element for the attachments.
We created one custom method for the on action button ON_CLICK_ATTACH.
ON_CLICK_ATTACH Method:
1) In this method first we are reading the selected attachment content details and mime types from the

Causes Of Antisocial Personality
Symptom and factors: Focus on the current event that seems like the violence activities became more
and more common in our dairy life. What caused our personalities changed compared with past 50
years, I believe that 50 years ago, only few people heard about antisocial, since the technology started
to developed that our brain function also evoluted became more flexible, meanwhile it brought more
potential danger. The most common symptoms for antisocial personality are: dishonest and disloyal;
lacking in guilt; habitually breaks social rules; often in trouble with the public laws. As it was
mentioned on textbook that antisocial personality belonged to cluster B which meaning characterized
by dramatic, emotional, or erratic behaviors. Antisocial is the derivative that came from the word
psychopath it was used to describe those people who were willing to hurt others by no reasons; lack of
empathy is the most dangerous factor. They only care about themselves, do whatever they want, they
believe they are not belong to any groups. There is one thing that we could not denied those people
who have antisocial behavior, they are the masters of language, why I m saying this because they may
display a glib, superficial charm and can be quite voluble and verbally facile ( they will use their
tongue to persuade you to follow them) ex: Adolf Hitler who launched the World War II that caused
millions of people dead and homeless, he was the most Representative figure, as a

The Controversy Of Brutus In Julius Caesar
In the play Julius Caesar, the author Shakespeare depicts a persistent controversy between Caesar and
his conspirators that turned against Caesar. Brutus remained a great friendship with Caesar for a very
long time until he became a disguised rival that was joined by many other conspirators which involved
Cassius. Through many struggles and schemes, they achieved their goal to bring Caesar down and
assassinated him when the chance was given. E Tu Brute? were the last words of Caesar that left a
mark even in today s history because Brutus turning against Caesar depicts that not everyone can be
fully trusted for what they portray to be. But, this play highlights also the importance of real friends
such as Antony that tried to bring the best ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He uses the technique of ethos for the citizens to be convinced that what Brutus had done was for the
good of the citizens. In the speech, Brutus quotes Believe me for mine honor, and have respect to mine
honor that you may believe(III.II. 15 16) , he uses his credibility to provide evidence to the crowd. He
plays a significant role in the Senate, which he is honored. Using this advantage, he persuades people
to believe him that what he does is for their own good and that he would not lie as he is known to be
an honored man. Using ethos, people fell into the trap of believing Brutus and his reasoning very
quickly. However, Antony uses ethos to get the audience s support and it was a very dangerous
moment for Antony as he had to indirectly attack Brutus. Antony uses ethos by supporting Brutus so
that the citizens will believe Antony and his credibility will be able to bring the audience to understand
that what Brutus had done was just part of the conspiracy. In the quote Which all the while ran blood,
great Caesar fell. O, what a fall was there, my countrymen!(III.II. 201 202) , Antony uses the name of
Julius Caesar as a way to bring together the people of Rome. He uses the authority of Caesar to raise
his values and commemorate him and his great leadership he owned. The word fall used in this quote
has two meaning; the first being that he fell as he was assassinated and the second meaning used in
this quote by Antony is the falling of Caesar into the scheme of conspiracy and through this, Antony
strikes an enraged emotion from the

Fredrik s Influence On Conflict
Everyone brings emotions to work, these agents are not exceptional. They have emotions, including
traits, personalities, moods, and these affective experiences and expressions influence others.
Emotional contagion, _____. The way Fredrik behaves, whether during the co listing or the lunch
meeting, affects how Michael thinks and proceeds to his act where he feels the need to pull out on the
listing. This classifies Fredrik under high conflict people as he gets overtly emotional during conflict,
and sometimes uses emotional manipulation to hurt others. As they encounter through this stage, it is
very likely that they experience short lived emotions and long lasting feelings. Discrete, short lived
emotions, such as anxiety and anger as they find ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A power usually brings about a reduction of other parties options by limiting the moves they can
make, eliminating a possible resolution to the conflict, or restricting their ability to employ
countervailing power (Folger, Poole, Stutman, 1997). Fredrik and Michael are both overly emotionally
and mentally involved in the situation where it prevents them from having the ability to think
objectively. As they become more aggressive and engaged, they tend to fall under the high conflicting
people category and emphasize on the person instead of the conflicting issue itself. This is when
mediator and third party come into play. Third parties enter a conflict relationship in which the
disputants have different expectations, goals, coasts, and rewards, and where they experience
pressures and stresses stemming from an uncertain situation (Bercovitch; 1984). Instead of helping
Fredrik and Michael resolve their conflict, this mediator helps facilitate and soothe the relationship by
generating discussion for the two of them, in the hope of conciliating the conflict. Fredrik and
Michael, in this case, may hire a lawyer or a mutual friend of theirs. It is the triad for a third party to
cause others to act differently (Bercovitch; 1984). A mutual friend of Fredrik and Michael definitely
does the job in serving as a neutral and unbiased position. According to Thompson and Nadler, they
argue that cognitive biases and different levels of perception people have on a conflict often intervene
with whether or not they can come up with a resolution. Negotiators are often unaware of such biases,
instead blaming blocked resolutions processes on party intransigence or self interest (Deutsch; 2000).
Coming from a neutral and outsider perspective, this mutual friend of theirs is able to find a middle
ground in simplifying the conflict situation as he sees the whole situation

you must be a natural born citizen of the United States, you must be 35 years old, and have been a

approval from Congress. These directives are used to manage federal government operations, adapt

Pros And Cons Of Firefighting

Firefighting, 2 Con s, 1 Pro Firefighting is a profession that can weigh heavily on a person s emotional
and mental well being, as well as their physical health, yet be rewarding at the same time.
The first ever city fire department in the world was started in Edinburgh, Scotland,in 1824. It was
called the Edinburgh Fire Engine Company and led by James Braidwood. The London Fire Engine
Company was the next one established in London, England in 1832. On January 27, 1678 the first fire
engine company was put into service in Boston under the direction of Captain Thomas Atkins. This
company took the place of bucket brigades which had previously been used to control fires. In 1736 at

As of 2014, there were around 1,134,400 firefighters serving in 27,198 fire departments nationwide
and responding to emergencies from 58,150 fire stations. Out of the 1,134,400 firefighters, 31 percent
of them were professional firefighters and 69 percent of them were volunteers. Firefighters generally
work long shifts that include weekends and holidays. The two most common types of shifts for
firefighters are 24 hours on duty followed by 48 hours off duty, or 48 hours on duty with 96 hours off
duty. On a daily basis, firefighters work with heavy, loud and dangerous tools such as axes,
sledgehammers, chainsaws, k12 saws, the jaws of life, fire engines, SCBA (self contained breathing
apparatus), hoses, water nozzles, among many other tools and apparatus. The Personal Breathing
Apparatus (air pack) provides the firefighter with clean oxygen. It is made up of a high pressure tank,
a pressure regulator, and an air mask.
To become a completely trained firefighter it can take up to 2 years if you decide to, or have to have
your paramedic certification. The full paramedic training takes up to 10 times as long as basic EMT or
Emergency Management Technician training, which can be between one and two thousand hours of
training. Some paramedic training can take up to 2 years to complete. The average fire academy
program takes about 12 to 14 weeks to complete. That training totaling up to 600 hours or more of

USI As A Biofeedback Tool For Training Of AHE Training
Discussion
This review assessed the quality of six studies to examine the effectiveness of using USI as a
biofeedback tool for training of the abdominal muscles. All six reviews are of moderate to good
methodological quality as shown using the MDB checklist, however, caution still needs to be applied
in the interpretation of results. The results show that there is some evidence for the use of USI in
increasing effectiveness of AHE training, however, there are still many varying factors in the studies
included that need to be considered. Lee et al. (2016) and Park and Lee (2011) both reported that USI
helps to facilitate the activation of abdominal muscle during AHE training as opposed to the control
group. Although a statistically ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These two studies are of good methodological quality, they are moderate in external validity and
moderate to high in internal validity. Blinding of the assessors occurred in both of these studies and
this helps to reduce the chance of bias occurring. A good description is given for the subject selection
process in the studies by Herlocker et al. (2014) and Teyhen et al. (2005). Teyhen et al. (2005) selected
the subjects from two military medical centres, whereas Herlocker et al. (2014) selected the subjects
from a university campus and the surrounding community. Once again, there is an increased chance of
selection bias occurring due to the sample unlikely being a true representation of the general
population especially in the study by Teyhen et al. (2005). Both studies once again gave a good
description of instructions for AHE training and this means the same protocol is likely to have been
used in each test retest situation. In studies by Henry and Westervelt (2005) and Worth et al. (2007),
they both reported that a statistically significant benefit is seen with the utilisation of USI to decrease
the number of trials required for the consistent correct performance of AHE. At follow up, there is no
longer a difference in between the groups. This may be explained by two possible causes. Firstly, all
subjects involved in a trial by Worth et al. (2007) are given instruction to practice the exercise at
home. It has been shown that practising enhances motor

Plate Tectonics Theory
The good thing about science is that it s true whether you believe in it or not, stated Neil Degrasse
Tyson. The Theory of Plate Tectonics is accredited to most of the creations of mountain ranges, the
Centennial Drifting Theory, earthquakes, and other landforms nature has made.
The idea of plate tectonics was formulated in the 1960s (Andel). Plate tectonics explains the origin of
Earth s surface features ( Plate Tectonics BrainPop). Alfred Wegner was just guessing about the way
plate tectonics were formed and no one believed him (Plate Tectonics). Scientists thought all hills and
uneven ground was due to the Earth shrinking. Scientists later found out that plates move about 5 to
10 cm. per year. During the late 20th and early 21st centuries, researchers found out that plate
tectonics had influenced the composition of Earth s atmosphere and the oceans. After Wegner died, his
Theory of Pangea was proven correct due to further research on plate tectonics (Kratochvil). Plate
tectonics is also a prime cause of long term climate change (Andel). Plate tectonics also give the rock
cycle the ability to keep continuing. ( Plate Tectonics BrainPop)
Plates tectonics are very complex, they have many steps that make them work like they do. Plates float
on top of the mantle, it is the part of the earth between the core. The mantle starts to churn in circular
convection currents as they drag the tectonic plates along ( Plate Tectonics BrainPop). The Earth s
crust is split into

What Is The Events That Justified The United States Entry...
When World War 1 started in 1914, United States president Woodrow Wilson promised non
participation of his country. The conflict appeared characteristic of the rottenness of old Europe, which
favored the neutrality position of majority of American citizens. However, a series of implacable
events dragged the United States into the war. This paper will discuss the events that justified the
United States entry into World War 1 while exploring the roles which public opinion should play when
making such decisions in comparison to expert policy makers opinions. In addition, other available
options that should have been put into consideration will be explored.

These incidents combined with dwindling diplomatic relations between Germany and the United
States increased anti German feelings in America.
Another factor that majorly influenced American public opinion was stories run by British press
regarding invasion of neutral Belgium by Germany. Allegations of small towns being eliminated and
innocent civilians being killed angered and stunned the Americans. Although some of these stories
were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of prompting a strong anti
German sentiment.
The protection of its economic interests was also a major factor, which influenced the decision for
America to participate in World War 1. American businesspersons such as J.P. Morgan who were
interested in victory of the alliance funded French and British wars. These funds, roughly 3 billion US
Dollars were mainly in form of loans and bond purchases. This led to the fear that incase Central
Powers (Germany, Bulgaria, Austria Hungary and the Ottoman Empire) emerged victorious; the Allies
(France, Britain and Italy) would be unable to repay these debts. As a measure to counter this risk,
these businessmen united to support a campaign movement; Preparedness Movement , which pushed
for America to intervene in the war and support the Allied forces.

Income Smoothing Methods
Introduction How do you explain to an intelligent public that it is possible for two companies in the
same industry to follow entirely different accounting principles and both get a true and fair audit
report? M. Lafferty Nowadays, as our economy is facing possible everyday crises, managers undergo
an increasing pressure in order to keep their company s earnings stable. Shareholders and analysts
expect companies to meet forecasted goals and not to deviate from these. Especially, reliable
companies are to report positive results and shall not present any surprises . Managers therefore often
turn to their accounting departments for help, whose job it then is to improve the bottom line by
changing the information shown in financial ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, many companies also amortize so called one time expenses by listing them as a capital
expense (on C/F) and paying the cost by amortization, hence improving the company s net income.
The Classification Method This method defines whether or not a transaction is classified as operating
income or non operating income. The Matching Book Method The Matching Book Method allows
managers to decide in which period transactions are to be recorded. Thus, this method is the most
powerful method in income smoothing. The Channel Stuffing Method The Channel Stuffing Method
is a tool used to inflate sales within a company by selling goods to customers that did not order them
in first place. This leads to more positive sales figures at first (which can then be stated) but has
several disadvantages in the long run. Conclusion Smoothing of income is an undeniable practice used
by accountants to favour the companies current needs, therefore it can be showing rather higher or
lower earnings than the actual latter. There are several methods through which this practice is applied
depending on the preferences as well as on the requirements of the people interested in the financial
statements. Approaching income smoothing from the legality perspective, one would surely come by
not only examples of both legal and illegal aspects, but also by a gray area, where it

Essay on Vaccination and Tetanus
Tetanus Tetanus is a very serious disease and is frequently called lockjaw (National Coalition for
Adult Immunization). It was first discovered by a Japanese researcher, Kitasato, in 1889(Family health
and family guide). This disease effects the nervous system and is caused by bacteria. It is contracted
through a cut or wound that becomes infected. This bacteria is called Clostridium tatani (The doctors

manure or the intestines of human beings (National Coalition for Adult Immunization). Tetanus is
most common in warm climates and in highly cultivated rural areas ( Wyngaarden, James 1390). The

Tetanus booster shots are recommended every ten years (The Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention). There are some cases in which you should not get the vaccine, such as people who have
problems breathing resulting from a dose of tetanus. These people should not take anymore doses of
the vaccine. If there is a reason to think that a reaction might happen due to the vaccine, skin testing
may be done to find out whether or not to continue with the tetanus vaccine or not to. People who
have enlargement of the covering of the brain, (encephalitis), within seven days of DTP immunization
should not take additional immunizations containing the vaccine (The doctors from medicine net

and a cranky attitude for a day or two after getting the shot. Half of them will have a sore spot and
some swelling where the shot was given. Occasionally, a child will have a more serious side effect.
For every 330 DTP shots given, one child will get a fever of 105 degrees or more. About once in 1,750
shots a child will have convulsions or become limp or pale afterwards. The side effects of a DPT shot
do not last long and have not been known to cause any permanent harm (The Centers for Disease

Birth Weight Is An Essential Organ Known For Synthesising...
Introduction
The placenta is an essential organ known for synthesising growth factors and angiogenic factors for its
own growth and fetal development throughout gestation. The placenta is made up of two
morphologically and functionally distinct zonal layers, the junctional (JZ) and labyrinth zone (LZ).
The JZ is made up of trophohoblasts and maternal blood vessels but no fetal vessel, and is the major
site for the production of hormones (Choi et al. 2005). The LZ on the other hand is too made up of
trophoblast cells but also both maternal and fetal vessels and is thus, the major site for maternal fetal

Biomes In North America Essay
North America is home to a wide variety of different biomes, ranging from blistering desert to frozen
tundra. This range in climate provides inhabitants of North America with not only options of where to
live, but also pride in where they come from and how they were raised. Different states or provinces
are known for their weather patterns and their ensuing biomes. Although there has been a lot of talk
recently about how humans are shaping their environment, today we hope to show you how the
environment we live in has played a pivotal role in shaping who we are and how we live.
Biomes in North America are contained within the land of the United States, Canada, Mexico, and
countries in Central America. This large area has a broad range of temperature and precipitation which
results in nine separate biomes ranging from tropical rainforest, deciduous forest, boreal forest, tundra,
temperate forest, grasslands, deserts, and chaparral woodlands. A biome is a specific area of the world

North America is home to many different biomes, and although I try to describe North American
biomes based on their significance, the truth is that within each state and/or province, you will find
many different biomes. For example in the state of Washington, you have both kinds of forests, the
alpine and subalpine biomes, wetlands, sand dunes, grasslands, and even desert. This variety is
consistent across most provinces and states, and is partially responsible for the proud nature of North
American inhabitants, in relation to their

Why Is Thomas Aquinas Important
In Thomas Aquinas Summa Theologica, St. Thomas enters into multiple discussions on the essence
and nature of humans, God, and everything else in between. Thomas explores questions that are seen
by others as too arduous to explore due to complicated sophistication and/or various complex thought
experiments. Nonetheless, Thomas tackles such difficulties and breaks it down in his own style with
help from others who have embarked on the same treacherous journey. With a lot of help from
Aristotle, specifically, Thomas equates many of his ideas about life to Aristotle s previous works.
Thomas even gives multiple commentaries on Aristotle s work, not something that most people can
put on their résumé. It s quite simple to see how brilliant Thomas ... Show more content on

The objector suggests that the law itself directs man in his actions, which to the objector, seems to be
concerned only with particular matters. It is then concluded that the law is directed to some particular
good, not the common good. Following that argument, I would explain to the objector that particular
goods are involved in striving toward a larger goal. For instance, if my goal is to eat food, I may
occupy myself with the particular medium of cooking for myself, venturing to a restaurant, mooching
off of my friend, or whatever else seems to fit the mood at that moment. Just because the end goal is
concerned with a particular doesn t mean the subject s mindset is contained to those individual
particulars. Particulars in every circumstance do in fact strive for an end of some sort. To break this
down further, let us take for example the basic law to not kill. In the United States, the law is that
people drive on the right side of the road. In other countries, it may be on the left side. This specific
law is aimed at the end of not killing, which in turn promotes human flourishing. Thus, we can
conclude that rules for driving on the opposite sides of the road is aimed at the end of a common good.
The objector is saying that laws are concerned only with a particular matter or a particular good.
Following that logic

DC1 Brooks came to CSER3 and asked if I was in the space. My guys told him I was working on the
training jackets for CM division s DITS. He came over to me to tell me that CICO was looking for me
to do a spot check. He did not inform me that any training was being held that same day and he knew I
was helping my division with DITS. ER09 has never done weekly training during the five months that
I have been DCPO until now. I miss quarters every day because I am the off going watch section. I go

Why Trophies Can Be Successful
Neil Patel once said, WInning provides happiness and losing provides wisdom. This is relevant
because in today s age we focus too much on winning and not what you gain when you lose. Today
participation trophies and prizes are almost given (Ashley Merryman.) Trophies can be a great way to
help motivate kids, but giving trophies out after a loss will misconscrew a their thought process.
Trophies were once rare things (Ashley Merryman.) When you were younger only the best out of the
best got trophies now as long you show you get a trophy. Competitiveness has dwindled down to
nothing because coaches feel everyone deserves a trophy. In Southern California, a regional branch of
the American Youth Soccer Organization hands out roughly 3,500 awards

Marijuana In America Research Paper
In the United States of America it is illegal to sell, possess or use marijuana. In the United States of

both. The subject of marijuana is a current widespread, ever evolving hot topic of debate with

The theory looks at how nurses will take care of patients as individuals along with the individual
needs for their illness. Using the highest quality while taking care of the patient s individual needs.
When nurses put a care plan together they are saying how they will take care of the patient and what
they will do in order to make sure that the patient gets better. By making the care plan for an
individual the nurse can see that person for themselves and know what helps them or makes them
worse. Not all people are alike, and they need to be treated as an individual. Callista says that by
treating people as individual s nurses are able to take better care of them. If they are treated as a group

Large Events Of Philadelphia
Liabilities of Large Events
Philadelphia consistently ranks among one of the most popular cities in the United States, both in
terms of visitation and in terms of global recognition. This ranking is driven by prominent events in
the past, and 2016 will be no different. Events such as the papal visit and the democratic nomination
convention will inevitably influence Philadelphia s economy, and it has long been an accepted notion
that these events cause a positive impact. However, recent studies have begun to erode this
misconception. The disastrous papal visit proved the economic harm of large scale events, and in
events such as the upcoming Democratic national convention, Philadelphia shouldn t expect any
significant economic windfall. The large influx of tourists coming to city for large events repels local
citizens who consume from local businesses, resulting in local businesses being forced to fall behind
schedule.
The Papal visit was projected to generate 400 million dollars for the city, but instead exemplifies the
way in which super events can go awry (Debree 2). Pope Francis visited the city of Philadelphia from
September 26th through the 27th, and predictably paranoia ensued. Hundreds of thousands of people
flooded the city for the opportunity to watch the pope speak. The damage was assessed weeks later.
City controller Alan Butkovitz published an analysis in October of 2015 detailing the Papal visit s
economic impact and his conclusions were undeniably grim.

Compare And Contrast Mental Vs Mental Health
Physical vs Mental: My thoughts
People tend to be more concerned with physical illnesses rather than mental illnesses. They think and
seem to relate to it in a more positive way. So if I broke my leg or had the flu or cancer even I would
get more support with that than having a mental health condition. I would receive get well cards or
flowers and visitors. I would have time off work to recover and many other types of support would be
given. People cannot and still refuse to show compassion when the illness is a mental health one and
this is still a taboo subject for people to talk about and one that they will shy away from.

The Drummer Boy Of Shiloh Literary Analysis
The 1860s was a time where young boys were stripped away their youth and innocence and force to
grow up way too fast. Many battles were fought during this time period, fields were scattered with
lifeless bodies of young boys who never got to experience life. An historical fiction titled, The
Drummer Boy of Shiloh , by Ray Bradbury gives us a clear insight of a confused young boy whose
youth was ripped away from him. The story evolves around an adolescent male named Joby, who
questions his purpose and bravery the night before a big battle. He believes that except from his drum,
he has no one else. It s not until his General comes along that night does he truly gain his confidence.

To show just how unprepared for the war boys like Joby are the author uses wild horses as a symbol.
Well, when you got a bunch of wild horses on a loose rein somewhere (pg 171) The wild horses are
interpreted as the young boys in the army. Because wild horses in real life are disorganized and
confused, the author compares the young boys dragged into the war as disorganized and confused. The
symbolization of wild and confused relates to my life due to the fact that, there are definitely times
when certain aspects adults understand are misinterpreted to me differently. An equally important
symbol recognized in this section of the book is on page 170, The General stopped and made a little
pile of winter leaves and twigs in the darkness. Twigs and leaves can be used to make a fire. Fire can
symbolize both joy regarding its brightness, but also danger and war. The twigs and leaves can act as
light leading the soldiers out of the darkness of the battle they re about to embark upon. The battle of
Shiloh, in which both Joby and the General are about participate in can go both ways just like the
twigs and leaves. It can result in extreme destruction and danger, or can be marked as a triumphant
battle for them. Certainly, the symbolization of fire often comes in my life. The reason why is that
every choice in your life can impact your life one way or the other. It can result in something bright
and joyful or something frightening and

Literature Review On 3p Service
2. Literature Review
In recent years, Third Party Logistics (3PL) service providers play a very important role in a supply
chain of an organization. A brief literature review is given in this section of the paper. Tate (1996)
identified seven factors (compatibility, deep understanding of a partner s business needs, open
communications, commitment, fairness, flexibility, and trust) that improved long term relationship
between 3PL and their customers. Logan (2000) used agency theory to help in bonding 3PL/customers
relationships. It is postulated that, cost reduction and services improvement criteria are most expected
by clients to avoid conflicts with their 3PL. Fawcett and Smith (1995) identified five criteria s to

Disadvantage and advantages of technology in communication Yanghear Suy
CamEd Business School Abstract
Technology has revolutionized almost every aspect of human life. This research is focused only the
communication based technology. This masterpiece of human innovation works like magic in term of
connecting people from one place to other. It provides huge benefits to people. However, side effects
are always behind the benefit.
This assignment will provide some information about the positive impacts that technology has

technology that poses some major concern to the society along with some personal comment
regarding the overall topics.
Disadvantage and advantages of technology in communication The human being has engaged with the

The Economic And Social Cost Of Illiteracy
The World Literacy Foundation released a report on illiteracy in 2012 sharing this devastating news,
Shockingly, more than 796 million people in the world cannot read or write. About 67 million children
do not have access to a primary school education and another 72 million miss out on secondary school
education (Melbourne, The Economic Social Cost of Illiteracy ). Complete illiteracy is defined as, a
person who cannot read or write at all (Melbourne, The Economic Social Cost of Illiteracy ).
However, there is another kind of illiteracy. This illiteracy is commonly known as functional illiteracy.
Function illiteracy, means an individual may have basic reading, writing and numerical skills but
cannot apply them to accomplish tasks that are necessary to make informed choices and participate
fully in everyday life (Melbourne, The Economic Social Cost of Illiteracy ). Illiteracy brings multiple
negative effects to an individual and his or her family. The effects of illiteracy include: life threatening
health issues, lower incomes and inability to succeed in his or her career, and it increases crime rates.
First, illiteracy carries life threatening health issues. If someone is illiterate, he or she will be unable to
comprehend medical records and assessments. Thus, never fully understanding their diagnosis, or their
treatment plan options. Erin N. Marcus, M.D. writes, There is also a growing body of research on

New Media In The Turn Within By Susan J. Douglas
New media is a less traditional version of media resulting from the digitization of almost everything.
Compared to its predecessor, new media is instantaneous, interactive, and universally accessible. The
largest aspect of new media is social media. It s role in today s media environment presents an
interesting paradox. On one hand, social media is rather limiting. It is incredibly easy to tailor one s
online experience to their personal beliefs and perspective. At the same time, social media presents the
opportunity to connect with the world at large. To say that new media allows for one but the not the
other would be incorrect. Today s society is one that both reveres and fears social media, leaving
people in an interesting position. In her essay The Turn Within , Susan J. Douglas discusses how
communications technologies have led to an inward, narcissistic scope instead of creating a global
village in which the world is bound together. There are oftentimes calls for a return to old media due
to (somewhat unfounded) fears of newer media making people anti social and self absorbed. But how
exactly is someone communicating by way of more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is true that when given the chance to participate in the world s changing social and political
landscape through social media, many people choose to cling to their own opinions and ignore the
perspectives of others. But the relationship between this narcissism and social media is not one that is
always clear or necessarily true. There are a number of people use social media for things other than
sharing pictures. In fact, people are capable of rational thought with and without the aid of social
media, despite the prevailing attitude that says opposite. While there is surely room for improvement,
today s media environment is certainly capable of helping us make sense of the world if we really

Guilt In Maus II By Art Spiegelman
In Maus II, Art Spiegelman emphasizes the effect that guilt has on him and his father. This guilt is the
product of Vladek and Art s relationship with the Holocaust as a whole. In Maus II, the relationship
between the past and the present is relatively important. In the very beginning of chapter one, we see
how Art reflects on this idea of guilt in detail. When Art and Francoise are driving to Catskills, he
states that he wishes that he would [have] been in Auschwitz with [his] parents so [he] could really
know what they lived through! where he comments that it is some form of guilt about having an easier
life than they did (Spiegelman II, 14). This form of guilt stems from never having to live through the

The Causes Of Crime
Crime can never be eliminated in the world and it would be abnormal if it ever did happen in society.
Perhaps, a society without crime is a spiral of our own imagination. Crime can be related to intra class
struggles because it still makes an impact in America. In today s society crime is a norm for many
cities in America. According to Forbes, St. Louis is the most dangerous city in America in 2017. Why
are there increasing rates of crime over the last decade? What are the reasons for crime? The reasons
of crime can stem from poverty, unemployment, politics, drug abuse, and recurring individuals in and
out of prison. In past history, former Mayor Richard J. Daley was involved in a corruption scandal.
There is a history of corruption by officials in Chicago because they would use the political machine
to gain political support to win in office. This machine is produced by a boss or group that demands
the support of other officials through scandalous control. Daley allowed the poor to suffer and the
richer get wealthier. The purpose is to gain control over a particular area. In today s society, the
machine is still seen today in Chicago s Police Department. Durkheim argues that crime makes society
functions as a whole. He states that crime is normal because it generates the collective sentiment.
Collective sentiments reinforce the values and ethical standards that society has brought forth to
follow. The rules that are broken are established

The NFL Lockout Essay
Business deals happen every day; Contracts expire, renew, and are negotiated without the public
knowing for many large corporations and even sporting leagues. However, some contract changes
cannot escape the media s attention. The National Football League (NFL) is facing an expiration of its
Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) (NFL Lockout Now One Month Old). Currently, the
agreement has expired and NFL team owners have selfishly chosen to lock the players out. The term
lockout means that the players are essentially not allowed to participate in any team activities or duties
until the owner s rescind this lockout. While many believe this is simply a battle between team owners
and a player union, it can only appear to most as a selfish ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Never the less, we need to look deeper into the negotiations to see what is really being argues and who
is genuinely at fault. One of the bigger arguing points of the expiration and creation of the new
Collective Bargaining Agreement was the expansion of the football season from 16 games to 18
games. While, at the surface this may seem as though it is simple two games , it would be a dramatic
change to many season aspects. Firstly, this would reduce the number of pre season games from four
to two. This lessens the team s real life preparation time. Which gives both players and coaches real
scenarios to base decisions about who to play, what players to release from the team and generally
how to plan for their seasons. Another great thing about preseason is it gives fans a chance to see their
teams in a cheaper setting, as these games normally do not have full price tickets. Additionally, there
was great concern from players about health reasoning, as a 16 game season is already cruel to a
football player s body. Many players are often on the sideline for at least a small portion of the season
with some sort of injury. Adding two more games only increases the chances for injury, which is
accelerated with the short preparation time in a shorter preseason. You may ask at this point, what the
owner s standpoint may be. Unfortunately, it is most simply as being stated to recuperate more income
from potential income losses. Obviously, the owners only see money in the

When the economy is strong, companies can lapse into sloppy cash management practices (Jill
Andresky Fraser, 1998). Two types of sweep accounts are available for the decision of the fees that
can be charged. Controlled investment accounts are more profitable of the sweep accounts,
maintaining enough funds to cover checks while the other funds are placed into overnight investments.
End of day sweep accounts are safer for the small business owners, but offer a late hour cutoff with
controlled investments. When the firm has excess cash, it will invest in marketable securities, and
when it needs cash for current assets, it will usually either sell marketable securities or borrow funds

California Is Going On A Four Year Drought
California is going on a four year drought, having many devastating implications that are being felt by
everyone in the state. The population hit the hardest has been the farmers of California. California,
being economically driven by its agricultural production, is losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every
year due to the lack of water. Farmers use 80% of water the state produces, directly influencing their
production (Mieszkowski, 2014). The country heavily relies on California for much of its produce
such as tomatoes, nuts, avocados, strawberries, broccoli, grapes and various others (Cooley et al.
2015). In 2014, harvested acreage was 6.9 million acres, the lowest it has been for the past 15 years.
Farmers are now being forced to use significantly less land then before, but also ditch old irrigation
techniques and implement new techniques to better conserve water; maximizing production as much
as possible in order to combat the drought.
California is the leading state in agricultural production; however, the state has taken a blow from this
four year drought. Farmers have been forced to re evaluate their irrigation systems and make
necessary changes to conserve water. In order to judge the agricultural water use efficiency, scientists
are using a ratio of evapotranspiration of the crop grown to the water applied to the crop.
Evapotranspiration is the total evaporation and plant transpiration from land surface to the atmosphere

The Man That Was Used Up By Edgar Allan Poe
The concept of a man machine mixture was widespread in science fiction before World War II. As
early as 1843, Edgar Allan Poe described a man with extensive prostheses in the short story The Man
That Was Used Up . In 1911, Jean de la Hire introduced the Nyctalope, a science fiction hero who was
perhaps the first literary cyborg, in Le Mystère des XV (later translated as The Nyctalope on Mars).[7]
[8][9] Edmond Hamilton presented space explorers with a mixture of organic and machine parts in his
novel The Comet Doom in 1928. He later featured the talking, living brain of an old scientist, Simon
Wright, floating around in a transparent case, in all the adventures of his famous hero, Captain Future.
He uses the term explicitly in the 1962 short story, After a Judgment Day, to describe the mechanical
analogs called Charlies, explaining that [c]yborgs, they had been called from the first one in the
1960s...cybernetic organisms. In the short story No Woman Born in 1944, C. L. Moore wrote of
Deirdre, a dancer, whose body was burned completely and whose brain was placed in a faceless but
beautiful and supple mechanical body.
The term was coined by Manfred E. Clynes and Nathan S. Kline in 1960 to refer to their conception of
an enhanced human being who could survive in extraterrestrial environments:
For the exogenously extended organizational complex functioning as an integrated homeostatic
system unconsciously, we propose the term Cyborg . Manfred E. Clynes and

Governments are designed to serve the people. Government are uniquely build upon the cultural,
traditional, political, sociological, etc background of the country. Each one one keeping in mind that
people have their own perspective of a government. That they each envision a benefiting system for
the population. Therefore regimes such as the parliamentary regime, presidential regime, semi
presidential regime, bicameral regime, and unicameral regime exist.
Parliamentary systems usually have the head of government and the head of state, with the head of
government being the prime minister or premier, and the head of state often being a figurehead, often
a hereditary monarch (often in a constitutional monarchy). Countries that have this type of
government are the United Kingdom, Sweden and Japan. These countries have a administrations that
are virtually always the outcome of parties coalitions, they inclined to be varied and represent an
extensive swath of common opinion. In a parliamentary system, the chief executive (the prime
minister) is chosen from the parliament by his peers after each parliamentary election. Consequently,
he serves as the leader of both the executive branch and the legislative branch, a scenario

But for others, they have invested large sums of money and lost it all. An example of growth investing
would be for an investor to invest in some sort of new technology. There is a certain method that
growth investors use, there are five different methods that value investors should spend time on. But
even though these methods are pretty much set in stone like a mathematical equation, the investor
must also compensate for the company s current situation. This meaning that they cannot just follow
this exact process and expect the outcome to be perfect, the investor will have to make some

Revenue Control, in short this is finding out how management is maintaining margins and controlling
costs and revenues by comparing the company s current profit margins to its past margins and its
competition s profit margins. Next is ROE(return of investment), this states that using your assets

Symbolism In We Were Lias
In the book We Were Liars , symbolism is a big part of the story, Symbolism is the use of symbols to
represent other ideas. I chose the rose to symbolize heartbreak but also betrayal from the beginning of
the story when Gat was putting a rose in an envelope for his New York girlfriend. I also chose the tire
swing because it symbolizes old memories from Clairmont. The last thing i chose to include was fire,
it demonstrates cleanliness. In the following paragraphs, I will explain symbolism in a few different
ways from the book. The roses were a important part in the story. Cady was in love with Gat.She
thought that the rose he was putting in the envelope was hers. As i stood there, staring, he put the rose
in an envelope. He searched for a pen, banging drawers open and shut, found one in his own pocket
and wrote .(Lockhart 15,16) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There was an envelope in the tire swing that Cady saw. The new swing looks strong. The knots are
tied carefully.Inside the tire swing is an envelope. Gats handwriting, for Cady. I open the envelope
more and more than a dozen dried roses come out. (Lockhart 156)The importance of the tire swing is
that the envelope was from Gat which held dried beach roses. Like the one Gat and I kisses on in the
middle of the night , this quote brings back old memories. There was also the fire that symbolizes
cleanliness. Clairmont was burned to the ground. It was burned down by Cady and the liars. They
wanted to cleanse Clairmont and start off new. They took the matches from hero and they struck
them. The which watched their beauty burn. .(Lockhart 198) Cady and the liars wanted to burn their
families sins away, they did that by burning down Clairmont. Also, there was a quote in the book that
explains more about the fire. We burned not a home, but a symbol. To the liars, Clairmont was more of
a symbol of their family than a

The most common symptoms for antisocial personality are: dishonest and disloyal; lacking in guilt; habitually breaks social rules; often in trouble with the public laws. As it was mentioned on textbook that antisocial personality belonged to cluster B which meaning characterized by dramatic, emotional, or erratic behaviors. Antisocial is the derivative that came from the word psychopath it was used to describe those people who were willing to hurt others by no reasons; lack of empathy is the most dangerous factor. They only care about themselves, do whatever they want, they believe they are not belong to any groups. There is one thing that we could not denied those people who have antisocial behavior, they are the masters of language, why I m saying this because they may display a glib, superficial charm and can be quite voluble and verbally facile ( they will use their tongue to persuade you to follow them) ex: Adolf Hitler who launched the World War II that caused millions of people dead and homeless, he was the most Representative figure, as a ... Through many struggles and schemes, they achieved their goal to bring Caesar down and assassinated him when the chance was given. He plays a significant role in the Senate, which he is honored. A power usually brings about a reduction of other parties options by limiting the moves they can make, eliminating a possible resolution to the conflict, or restricting their ability to employ countervailing power (Folger, Poole, Stutman, 1997). Fredrik and Michael are both overly emotionally and mentally involved in the situation where it prevents them from having the ability to think objectively. As they become more aggressive and engaged, they tend to fall under the high conflicting people category and emphasize on the person instead of the conflicting issue itself. This is when mediator and third party come into play. Third parties enter a conflict relationship in which the disputants have different expectations, goals, coasts, and rewards, and where they experience pressures and stresses stemming from an uncertain situation (Bercovitch; 1984). Instead of helping Fredrik and Michael resolve their conflict, this mediator helps facilitate and soothe the relationship by generating discussion for the two of them, in the hope of conciliating the conflict. Fredrik and Michael, in this case, may hire a lawyer or a mutual friend of theirs. It is the triad for a third party to cause others to act differently (Bercovitch; 1984). A mutual friend of Fredrik and Michael definitely does the job in serving as a neutral and unbiased position. According to Thompson and Nadler, they argue that cognitive biases and different levels of perception people have on a conflict often intervene with whether or not they can come up with a resolution. Negotiators are often unaware of such biases, instead blaming blocked resolutions processes on party intransigence or self interest (Deutsch; 2000). All six reviews are of moderate to good methodological quality as shown using the MDB checklist, however, caution still needs to be applied in the interpretation of results. The results show that there is some evidence for the use of USI in increasing effectiveness of AHE training, however, there are still many varying factors in the studies included that need to be considered. (2005) selected the subjects from two military medical centres, whereas Herlocker et al. (2014) selected the subjects from a university campus and the surrounding community. Once again, there is an increased chance of selection bias occurring due to the sample unlikely being a true representation of the general population especially in the study by Teyhen et al. (2005). Both studies once again gave a good description of instructions for AHE training and this means the same protocol is likely to have been used in each test retest situation. The Theory of Plate Tectonics is accredited to most of the creations of mountain ranges, the Centennial Drifting Theory, earthquakes, and other landforms nature has made. The idea of plate tectonics was formulated in the 1960s (Andel). Plate tectonics explains the origin of Earth s surface features ( Plate Tectonics BrainPop). Alfred Wegner was just guessing about the way plate tectonics were formed and no one believed him (Plate Tectonics). Scientists thought all hills and uneven ground was due to the Earth shrinking. Scientists later found out that plates move about 5 to 10 cm. per year. During the late 20th and early 21st centuries, researchers found out that plate tectonics had influenced the composition of Earth s atmosphere and the oceans. After Wegner died, his Theory of Pangea was proven correct due to further research on plate tectonics (Kratochvil). Plate tectonics is also a prime cause of long term climate change (Andel). Plate tectonics also give the rock cycle the ability to keep continuing. ( Plate Tectonics BrainPop) Plates tectonics are very complex, they have many steps that make them work like they do. Although some of these stories were fabricated to serve as British propaganda, they served their purpose of prompting a strong anti German sentiment. The Matching Book Method The Matching Book Method allows managers to decide in which period transactions are to be recorded. Thus, this method is the most powerful method in income smoothing. It is then concluded that the law is directed to some particular good, not the common good. For instance, if my goal is to eat food, I may occupy myself with the particular medium of cooking for myself, venturing to a restaurant, mooching off of my friend, or whatever else seems to fit the mood at that moment. Just because the end goal is concerned with a particular doesn t mean the subject s mindset is contained to those individual particulars. Particulars in every circumstance do in fact strive for an end of some sort. To break this down further, let us take for example the basic law to not kill. In the United States, the law is that people drive on the right side of the road. In other countries, it may be on the left side. This specific law is aimed at the end of not killing, which in turn promotes human flourishing. Large Events Of Philadelphia Liabilities of Large Events Philadelphia consistently ranks among one of the most popular cities in the United States, both in terms of visitation and in terms of global recognition. This ranking is driven by prominent events in the past, and 2016 will be no different. Events such as the papal visit and the democratic nomination convention will inevitably influence Philadelphia s economy, and it has long been an accepted notion that these events cause a positive impact. However, recent studies have begun to erode this misconception. The disastrous papal visit proved the economic harm of large scale events, and in events such as the upcoming Democratic national convention, Philadelphia shouldn t expect any significant economic windfall. The large influx of tourists coming to city for large events repels local citizens who consume from local businesses, resulting in local businesses being forced to fall behind schedule. The Papal visit was projected to generate 400 million dollars for the city, but instead exemplifies the way in which super events can go awry (Debree 2). Pope Francis visited the city of Philadelphia from September 26th through the 27th, and predictably paranoia ensued. Hundreds of thousands of people flooded the city for the opportunity to watch the pope speak. The damage was assessed weeks later. City controller Alan Butkovitz published an analysis in October of 2015 detailing the Papal visit s economic impact and his conclusions were undeniably grim. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Many battles were fought during this time period, fields were scattered with lifeless bodies of young boys who never got to experience life. An historical fiction titled, The Drummer Boy of Shiloh , by Ray Bradbury gives us a clear insight of a confused young boy whose youth was ripped away from him. The story evolves around an adolescent male named Joby, who questions his purpose and bravery the night before a big battle. He believes that except from his drum, he has no one else. To show just how unprepared for the war boys like Joby are the author uses wild horses as a symbol. Well, when you got a bunch of wild horses on a loose rein somewhere (pg 171) The wild horses are interpreted as the young boys in the army. Because wild horses in real life are disorganized and confused, the author compares the young boys dragged into the war as disorganized and confused. The symbolization of wild and confused relates to my life due to the fact that, there are definitely times when certain aspects adults understand are misinterpreted to me differently. An equally important symbol recognized in this section of the book is on page 170, The General stopped and made a little pile of winter leaves and twigs in the darkness. Twigs and leaves can be used to make a fire. Fire can symbolize both joy regarding its brightness, but also danger and war. The twigs and leaves can act as light leading the soldiers out of the darkness of the battle they re about to embark upon. The battle of Shiloh, in which both Joby and the General are about participate in can go both ways just like the twigs and leaves. It can result in extreme destruction and danger, or can be marked as a triumphant battle for them. Certainly, the symbolization of fire often comes in my life. Compared to its predecessor, new media is instantaneous, interactive, and universally accessible. The largest aspect of new media is social media. It s role in today s media environment presents an interesting paradox. On one hand, social media is rather limiting. It is incredibly easy to tailor one s online experience to their personal beliefs and perspective. At the same time, social media presents the opportunity to connect with the world at large. To say that new media allows for one but the not the other would be incorrect. Today s society is one that both reveres and fears social media, leaving people in an interesting position. In her essay The Turn Within , Susan J. Douglas discusses how communications technologies have led to an inward, narcissistic scope instead of creating a global village in which the world is bound together. Crime can be related to intra class struggles because it still makes an impact in America. In today s society crime is a norm for many cities in America. According to Forbes, St. Louis is the most dangerous city in America in 2017. Why are there increasing rates of crime over the last decade? What are the reasons for crime? The reasons of crime can stem from poverty, unemployment, politics, drug abuse, and recurring individuals in and out of prison. In past history, former Mayor Richard J. Daley was involved in a corruption scandal. There is a history of corruption by officials in Chicago because they would use the political machine to gain political support to win in office. This machine is produced by a boss or group that demands the support of other officials through scandalous control. Daley allowed the poor to suffer and the richer get wealthier. The purpose is to gain control over a particular area. In today s society, the machine is still seen today in Chicago s Police Department. Never the less, we need to look deeper into the negotiations to see what is really being argues and who is genuinely at fault. One of the bigger arguing points of the expiration and creation of the new Collective Bargaining Agreement was the expansion of the football season from 16 games to 18 games. While, at the surface this may seem as though it is simple two games , it would be a dramatic change to many season aspects. Firstly, this would reduce the number of pre season games from four to two. This lessens the team s real life preparation time. Which gives both players and coaches real scenarios to base decisions about who to play, what players to release from the team and generally how to plan for their seasons. Another great thing about preseason is it gives fans a chance to see their teams in a cheaper setting, as these games normally do not have full price tickets. Additionally, there was great concern from players about health reasoning, as a 16 game season is already cruel to a football player s body. Many players are often on the sideline for at least a small portion of the season with some sort of injury. Adding two more games only increases the chances for injury, which is accelerated with the short preparation time in a shorter preseason. The population hit the hardest has been the farmers of California. California, being economically driven by its agricultural production, is losing hundreds of thousands of jobs every year due to the lack of water. Farmers use 80% of water the state produces, directly influencing their production (Mieszkowski, 2014). The country heavily relies on California for much of its produce such as tomatoes, nuts, avocados, strawberries, broccoli, grapes and various others (Cooley et al. 2015). In 2014, harvested acreage was 6.9 million acres, the lowest it has been for the past 15 years. California is the leading state in agricultural production; however, the state has taken a blow from this four year drought. Farmers have been forced to re evaluate their irrigation systems and make necessary changes to conserve water. As early as 1843, Edgar Allan Poe described a man with extensive prostheses in the short story The Man That Was Used Up . In 1911, Jean de la Hire introduced the Nyctalope, a science fiction hero who was perhaps the first literary cyborg, in Le Mystère des XV (later translated as The Nyctalope on Mars).[7] [8][9] Edmond Hamilton presented space explorers with a mixture of organic and machine parts in his novel The Comet Doom in 1928. He later featured the talking, living brain of an old scientist, Simon Wright, floating around in a transparent case, in all the adventures of his famous hero, Captain Future.
