This document discusses the social interactions observed during fieldwork at two bowling leagues. The author found that bowling attracts people of various ages and genders, not just older men as commonly believed. Bowlers' social status depends on their average score, the type and weight of the ball they use. Small groups of teammates also interact socially. Some men use their ball's weight or quality to boast or poke fun at other men's masculinity. Overall, the document examines the unique social hierarchies and interactions among bowlers.
