The World Is Too Much With Us Figurative Language
Throughout the poems The World Is Too Much With Us, by William Wordsworth, and God s
Grandeur, written by Gerard Manley Hopkins, figurative language is used in order to share a view of
modern nature and society. Poetic devices such as imagery, parallel structure, and alliteration are a few
materials that both compare and contrast these two works. By incorporating these, each individual
author enhances the overall meaning through the idea of adding depth to the writing. Wordsworth, the
creator of The World Is Too Much With Us, uses his poem to serve as a reference to his beliefs on the
malicious, cruel world around us, and how people are growing apart from nature. Along with this,
Gerard Manley Hopkins words help build upon the beauty and importance of nature, and how God
above keeps its well being preserved. Due to all of this, each poem is given unique qualities that relate
their meanings to one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In William Wordsworth s poem, he uses biblical allusions; for example in the quote, It moves us not.
Great God, (Wordswood 9) the author uses a biblical character, God, to enhance the words around it
and in Gerard Manley Hopkins writing, he states The world is charged with the grandeur of God
(Hopkins 1), in which is used for the same purpose. Along with this, both poets uses imagery in order
to influence the attractiveness of nature and the world around, including the line And are up gathered
now like sleeping flowers, (Wordswood 7) which instills the picture of flowers in a quiet setting. Here
in Hopkins poem, imagery is embedded in the line, Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs
, to help construct emphasis on the beauty in the world. In both poems, each author, Wordswood and
Hopkins, points at a direct opinion on society and its pros and

Racial Barriers
United States of America is a country that has a foundation of diverse social, economic and political
factors that have been constantly changing over the last few centuries and have shaped the way in
which races and various ethnic groups relate, align, and participate in political processes (Holloway,
2013). The 19th and 20th centuries are seen as the most definitive years which the fate of people of
color and other ethnic minorities was determined. The magnitude of social issues and legislations that
were enacted during these years ranging from civil right movements, women suffrage, to voting rights
were of great significance and most of them are still binding in the current American society (Tyson,
2016). These socio economic and political manifestations in the country have also shaped the race
perceptions and some people believe it is the period in history that defined race relations to date.
The most volatile issue over the years has been the right to vote irrespective of diversities such as
color, income, race, ethnic groups, immigration status, among other factors. People of color have
always been on the receiving end of laws that prevent them from voting and exercising their
constitutional right of freely electing leaders (Schuit Rogowski, 2016). Despite such laws being
abolished over the years through federal and state legislations that aim at bringing equality, the turnout
of people of color still remains low to date. This paper aims at examining the possible

Roles Of Men And Women
When you think of the roles for men and women in a relationship, what do you think of? Do you see
both men and women working full time jobs or do you only see the man working and the wife staying
at home? Roles are continuing to change in many ways. People can choose to either get married young
or wait until they are older. We get this picture in our head of how our love lives are supposed to be
from the media. Some people consider their jobs to be just as important as their relationships.
Expectations of relationship roles of men and women have changed greatly from in the past. Katherine
Davis stated, Wilson and I are fortunate to have a relationship that allows us to be as committed to our
professions as we are to each other (Davis 257). I believe that is the way it is now in the world, both
the men and women focusing on their careers. In the past, men were expected to go to work and
provide for their families. The women were expected to stay home and take care of the house and the
children if they had any. Some people take the same route that Katherine Davis took. She was not
necessarily looking for love and she was focused on her career. She then met her fiancé at her summer
internship. Back in the day, women were expected to find husbands and have kids as soon as possible.
They were unable to just sit around and wait while being occupied by their jobs. Love can be
perceived in many different ways. Part of the reason for that is the way the media has changed our

Essay on Poverty and Child Development
From the very second I was born, until this very day, I had understood life to be a certain way. Life
had taken its course and my family, as well as myself, have suffered ups and downs. We ve been
through times which were good and which were the worst of the worst all families do. What I didn t
know is that regardless of the good and the bad, that the life I lived was sheltered to the point where I
couldn t fathom the idea that all people had not lived a life similar to ours. Sure, I understand that
some were more fortunate and some were less fortunate, but to which extent? Within my circle of
influence, our friends and family, there was a certain level at which we enjoyed our lives in a
comfortable sense. We d occasionally see a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is very true that although some families are born into poverty, other have fallen into this
classification due to various circumstances they endured during the course of life s twists and turns.
According to a conservative remark by Thomas J. Surgrue as noted in American Families by
Stephanie Coontz, the wages of two underemployed workers barely pull families above the poverty
line (Surgrue, p. 245 Coontz). With this in mind, it makes us wonder if there is any hope to rely on for
those who live in this area, whether it s two underemployed parents or just a single mother or father.
There is barely a difference between those who are suffering because they are unemployed and so it
seems that s it even worse for those who are working two dead end jobs and still not breaching the
poverty line. Jonathan Kozol speaks of a local high school in the South Bronx when he says that
Morris High School is, after all, one of the most beleaguered, segregated, and decrepit secondary
schools in United states (Kozol). I understand the argument that they are uneducated and do not have a
great ability to apply for numerous jobs, but what I don t understand is if they even find a minimum
wage job, they are better off that where they are currently. In addition, there are numerous programs

Domestic And International Asian Students
Table 3 shows that no significant difference was observed between the overall scores of adjustment in
domestic and international Asian students. This finding is different from previous studies that showed
East Asian students to have difficulty understanding the academic content resulting in poor adjustment
success (Lee, Farruggia, Brown, 2013). To test our main hypothesis, JASP was used to generate data
through descriptive statistics, ANOVA and further post hoc analyses. Initially, we generated
descriptive statistics to show the raw means. Table 4 displays this descriptive data indicating that
international students performed better than domestic students on university adjustment (M = 34.60,
SD = 2.60) and social interaction (M = 15.20, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
To test the second hypothesis, further sampled t test comparisons were conducted. Table 3 shows a
strong significance between the different categories of adjustment, F(2, 81) = 197.09, p .001, η² =
.813; however, the significance was ambiguous. To see where the difference happened, we conducted t
test comparisons. When comparing local university adjustment with international university
adjustment (t[4] = 1.990, p .05, d = .890), local social interaction with international social interaction
(t[4] = 0.732, p .05, d = .328) and local academic achievement with international academic
achievement (t[4] = .793, p .05, d = .355) no significance was found. In addition, the significant values
were found when academic achievement was compared with university adjustment in domestic and
international students. This was a potential error of key score differences between the categories
(Table 2). Table 5 provides the complete list of all the comparisons and displays where the results
showed significance. Through this statistical analysis, our second hypothesis failed to be true as well.
Interestingly, an interaction was found to be significant for social interaction and academic
achievement. Figure 2 provides a visual representation of this result.
Discussion
The purpose of this study was to find the underlying differences between international and domestic
students. We used Asian students specifically for data to see whether they differ from one another

National Symbols Of Guatemala And Its Effect On The...
corn, bananas, coffee, beans, and chickens (The World Fact book, Economy). In the past few years
Guatemala is experiencing drought and it is affecting the country s farming capabilities. Recent
statistics gathered by VoaNews estimate about 900,000 individuals are troubled by this issue. Like
many matters, this has caused a chain reaction resulting in an increase of unemployment. Although a
challenge, I envision a possible business opportunity to alter this effect. A strategy that came into mind
was a tool utilized to decrease the amount of water irrigated. There is currently a watering system used
for a similar purpose called the Tree T Pee (Tree T Pee Site). It would be a great approach to invest
and incorporate a modification that can be used in lands abroad like Guatemala. It could also increase
the employment rate and create new jobs. Despite the downfalls, Guatemala continues to be well
known for its beauty and culture that comes from the indigenous people. For example, one of the most
important national symbols in Guatemala is the Quetzal. Studies (Standford University, Para. 6) based
on the national bird stated that the Mayan people viewed this bird as a symbol of love, light, and
happiness. Another great symbol is Guatemala s national hero (Stanford University site, para. 7). The

Sickle Cell Infertility
Sickle cell anemia is a disease that is found in about seventy thousand to one hundred thousand people
in a year here in the United States, most commonly found in African Americans. This disease occurs
in the blood where the hemoglobin attaches itself to the oxygen in the lungs and then carried all
throughout the body. When this occurs the red blood cell is changed to rigid and the shape turns to a C
(A.K.A. Sickle) which is where the disease got its name. The C like cell may get stuck and block
blood flow to vital organs which can cause a stroke, acute chest syndrome, organ damage, and other

Social Injustice in Roundhouse
Lives for Native Americans on reservations have never quite been easy. There are many struggles that
most outsiders are completely oblivious about. In her book The Roundhouse, Louise Erdrich brings
those problems to light. She gives her readers a feel of what it is like to be Native American by
illustrating the struggles through the life of Joe, a 13 year old Native American boy living on a North
Dakota reservation. This book explores an avenue of advocacy against social injustices. The most
observable plight Joe suffers is figuring out how to deal with the injustice acted against his mother,

Because he is too young to fully understand all the factors of the situation, Joe teeters between taking

In addition to the issues within the family, the crime committed against mother has cause inner turmoil

Langston Hughes Poem Cubes
Langston Hughes poem Cubes concerns itself with the idea of young men bringing disease back from
France to Senegal. The layout of this poem is based on the French motto of liberté, égalité, fraternité
(or liberty, equality, fraternity) which is mentioned in the third stanza of the poem. The first two
stanzas of the poem refer to the lack of liberty for the people being discussed. The second stanza then
goes on to talk about the many ways equality is missing from the lives of the Senegalese in France.
Finally, the third stanza is about the fraternity that is present when they return to Senegal. The poem
shows that despite it being the French motto, these three things are not present in their society. In fact,
they are more present in Senegal. Liberty: freedom from captivity, confinement, or physical restraint .
In the first stanza, we hear about characters who do not have liberty. They are not free from these
things; instead, they are held back by them. Hughes says that the men are a little too drunk to sing ...

In the fourth stanza, Hughes s narrative returns to Senegal. Here we are introduced to
brotherhood/sisterhood felt between these people. He refers to a collective group of them as the back
girls in the palm huts (34). He indicates a sense of community between the men returning and the
women who have remained there. However, this stanza also largely refers to the spread of disease
from the men who have been in France to the people who never left Senegal. While they are sharing
(which is a brotherly act in and of itself), they are sharing something from the French that is wholly
not something that is wanted. Though the men gained disease through negative relationship with the
French people, they go on to spread it to the Senegalese people through positive interactions. It starts

Compare And Contrast The New England And Massachusetts...
Although the New England and Chesapeake colonies were settled by people of English origin, by
1700 they were two distinct societies. What accounts for these differences? Basically, the motives, the
geography and the values of the people in the colonies were combined to form two very separate
societies in Massachusetts and Virginia. Of course both societies contain settlers from Britain.
However, the motives and the values in each society were drastically different from each other. Most
people who went to Massachusetts have done so because they hope to create an utopia for their
religious beliefs. Most people to Virginia, look for economic opportunity in many different ways.
People who have gone to Virginia were seeking economic opportunity. Some were there to look for
gold, but others came to work as indentured servants for a few years. Additionally, there were people
sent to serve as wives for the men already there. In return for their service as servants, they should
have acquired passage to America, shelter, food, and clothes (Indenture Agreement Between Richard

Emperor Justinian Research Paper
EMPEROR
JUSTINIAN
Justinian, whose name was Petrus Sabbatius, was born in 483 C.E. to farmers in the Roman province
of Illyria. He may have been in his teens when he came to Constantinople. Under the sponsorship of
his mother s brother, Justin, Petrus acquired a superior education. However, thanks to his Latin
background, he evidently always spoke Greek with a notable accent. At this time, Justin was a highly
ranked military commander, and Petrus was his favorite nephew. The younger man climbed the social
ladder with a hand up from the older, and he held several important offices. Justinian arranged to
marry Theodora, thereby acquiring an important helpmate and also giving his age one of its most
striking personalities. The reign of Justinian was significant in many ways.
Justinian tried to restore the empire to match the size that it was at the time of the Roman Empire.

By the time, Justinian s plague had run its course in AD 590, it had killed as many as 100 million

famines and subsequent inflation that followed put the empire in trouble financially which also

Analysis Of William Wordsworth s Poetry
As this question states, William Wordsworth s poetry demonstrates nature poet, real language of men,
spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings, and emotion recollected in tranquility. The first is the
easiest to indemnify. In Wordsworth s poem Ode: Intimations of Immortality from Recollections of
Early Childhood , there are several lines that depict nature. An example is the line, The Rainbow
comes and goes, / And lovely is the Rose. (Wordsworth 10 11). In the preface to Lyrical Ballads,
Wordsworth defines real language of men as a line or a sequence of lines that are written in the
language of prose rather than the poetic metre normally associated with poetry (Preface to Lyrical
Ballads n.d.). An example of this would be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second symbol is the death fires (Coleridge 128). In the footnotes, death fires are said to be an

An Analysis of the Wto Communication
An analysis of the WTO communication
ABSTRACT
Habermas has defined the relationship between public sphere and public opinion as network for
communicating information and points of view . . . the streams of communication are, in the process,
filtered and synthesized in such a way that they coalesce into bundles of topically specified public
opinions. The report, based on Habermas s theory of public sphere and public opinion, and with the

World Trade Organization (WTO), including the target, content, form of the WTO communication,

In its communication, the WTO disseminates specific messages and information, at the same time
presents its public image. Then I will provide further explanations of the communication forms in
these two circumstances.
4.1 Internal communication
By internal communication, I refer to the communication carried on between the WTO inside and its
members. The WTO internal communication takes place mainly by means of conferences or meetings
of different levels in various specialized working groups, councils and committees.
* Ministerial conference
The governing body of the WTO, responsible for all the decision making, composed of international
trade ministers from all member countries. Meets every two years, and the decisions are generally
taken by consensus (Alana Mann, 2012). * General Council
The WTO s highest level decision making body, meeting regularly to carry out the functions of the
WTO. It has the authority to act on behalf of the ministerial conference. The General Council also
meets, under different rules, as the Dispute Settlement Body (WTO, 2012). * Dispute Settlement Body
Created in the Uruguay Round agreements for resolving trade quarrels and enforcing the rules and
therefore for ensuring that trade flows smoothly (WTO, 2012). * Green Room Refers to meetings of
20 40 delegations, usually at the level of heads of delegations. These meetings can take place

Essay on Alice Walker s Everyday Use
Alice Walker s Everyday Use
In the short story Everyday Use by Alice Walker, the author portrays opposing ideas about one s
heritage. Through the eyes of two daughters, Dee and Maggie, who have chosen to live their lives in
very different manners, the reader can choose which character to identify most with by judging what is
really important in one s life. In Dee s case, she goes out to make all that can of herself while leaving
her past behind, in comparison to Maggie, who stays back with her roots and makes the most out of
the surroundings that she has been placed in. Through the use of symbolism, the tangible object of a
family heirloom quilt brings out these issues relating to heritage to Mama, and she is able to

Obviously, Dee s family is not who is actually oppressing her. Dee oppresses herself in many ways by
the limitations that she puts on herself with her family and new lifestyle. All of the choices she
decides, to make herself a more well rounded person, to better fit into society, end up making her a
deplorable person because of the harm that it has on her family. Literary critic Mary Helen
Washington believes Dee is an example of a stereotypical assimilated women who alienates them self
from their roots, and cuts them self off from real contact with their own people and their inner self
(22). This concept explains why Dee rarely makes trips home, and shows that she is really disowning
a part of herself by not accepting her family and past.
On the other hand, the younger of the daughters, Maggie, is portrayed as a more homely and loyal
daughter who is deeply in touch with her heritage. On a personal level, Maggie does not contain the
strong willed personality of her sister, but is very content with her family s past, and the direction that
her life is taking. Maggie is so accustomed to her strong family ties and the family history that
surrounds her everyday in the house, that it is not a priority to have the quilts passed along to her. She
does not need a tangible object to hold on to as her past. Mama knew that it was Grandma Dee and
Big Dee who taught her how to quilt herself ,

Pride And Prejudice By Joe Wright
The stories about the football player falling in love with the shy girl, the prince falling in love with a

books. These stories all present issue about how divided social classes are. Focus Pictures version of
the famous Jane Austen s Pride and Prejudice directed by Joe Wright and won numerous awards for
best actress, production design, best motion picture, and many more. The trailer for Pride and
Prejudice made it seem as though this was just going to be a love story between a rich man named
Darcy, played by Matthew MacFadyen and a poor girl named Elizabeth Bennet, played by Keira
Knightley, but overall it wasn t just that. Under that story lies an overwhelming amount of social
conflict, ideas spreading from the feminist theory, to marriage, to most importantly social class. The
story looks into the Bennet family and their situation. They are about to lose all their land, and society
in their time is patriarchal based in that only eldest son receives entailment to their real estate.
However, the real problem comes from the fact that Mr. Bennett has five daughters! Mr. and Mrs.
Bennett marry their daughters off to men with power and money so they can ensure that they are
financially secured. In this era women had no choice but to marry young, dues to the face they didn t
have as many job opportunities. On top of that if they hadn t been married they would have been
mocked.

Project financing discipline includes understanding the rationale for project financing, preparation of
the financial plan, assessment of the risks, designing the financing mix, and raising the funds. In
addition, one must understand the cogent analyses of why some project financing plans have
succeeded while others have failed. A knowledge base is required regarding the design of contractual
arrangements to support project financing; issues like the host of legislative provisions, government
and administrative constrains, public and private infrastructure partnerships, public and private
financing structures; credit requirements of lenders, how to determine the project s borrowing
capacity; how to prepare cash flow projections and use them to measure expected rates of return; tax

Without getting too far into the science of how an electric car works, battery power is a much more
efficient use of energy. One of the biggest reasons is because it conserves gasoline. The conservation
of gasoline is a great concern for many reasons, one of which is that the amount of money spent on
refining oil to produce the fuel is great. The oil industry plays a large role in the auto industry. Oil
currently hovers above $100 per barrel. Oil is a necessity for operating machinery, enabling a car to
function, and manufacturing gasoline. According to the California Energy Commission, as of March
10, 2014, the price of crude oil was $2.55. Ten years before that, the price was $.84, and in March
1999, the price was $.29. These prices reflect the daily market price for crude oil from the Alaska
North Slope (California Energy Commission, 2014). These figures show that oil is getting
increasingly expensive to produce, and that is reflected at the pump. Hybrids have the ability to use
battery and gas power, and electric cars use no gasoline at all. For this reason, electric cars are on their
way to becoming more and more appealing to consumers. Another reason that battery power is a
superior source of energy over gasoline is that electric cars produce little to no pollution. Cars that use
electricity to operate produce no tailpipe emissions. In a society where pollution control is becoming

The Invention Of Alexander Graham Bell
Alexander Graham Bell was not an American born inventor. He was born in Edinburgh Scotland
March 3, 1947. His father was a formal speech teacher. This might account for his early interest in
speech and sound. As a boy he was so intrigued with sound he taught himself to play the piano. When
he was a teenager his mother began to lose her hearing, and this further perpetuated his entrance and
desire to explore sound. Bell was a very smart young man. At age 12 he invented a machine to take
the husks off grains of wheat. This became a very important invention at this time, because processing
wheat by hand was very time consuming. People began to notice that he was a very innovative child.
His friend s father who owned the grain mill appreciated his invention so much that he gave him a
small shop to work on his inventions. Alexander Graham Bell was home schooled by his mother early
in his childhood. As a child he received only three years of formal education. He was only a mediocre
student, but showed an amazing ability for problem solving. This was around 1859 about the time his
mother started to lose her hearing. In 1863, Bell first heard a machine designed by a German scientist,
that imitated the sound of the human voice. He was very intrigued with this machine, and it probably
provided the seed that led to the invention of the telephone. He and his brother obtain the book written
by the scientists, translated it from German, and learn how the machine worked.

This study examined the effects of speed pressure on working memory during mental arithmetic tasks.
392 undergraduate students working memory capacities were measured and participants were divided
into high and low working memory groups. They were then randomly assigned into the fast or slow

According to Beilock et al., (2004), explicit monitoring and the Distraction Theory are reasons as to
why skills may fail under pressure. Explicit monitoring, or self focus, causes the disruption of
automatic processes as individuals force conscious control over the task, causing poorer performance
despite the extra effort and attention (Beilock et al., 2004). In contrast, the Distraction Theory claims
that pressures fill the WM with worries and concerns over performance and task content which in
consequence competes with the resources which are normally utilised for execution (Beilock et al.,

The Benefits of Introducing at-Home Testing for HIV in...
The growth of HIV cases in Indonesia is one of the most rapid ones among the countries in Asia
(UNAIDS 2013). Indonesia s Ministry of Health estimates that more than 500.000 people in Indonesia
will become infected with HIV in 2014 unless there is an acceleration of HIV prevention programs
(UNICEF Indonesia 2012). In Indonesia, the testing of HIV currently is done in voluntary counseling
and testing (VCT) clinics in selected hospitals. The patients are required to visit the clinic to do the
testing and counseling. VCT has been shown to have a role in both HIV prevention and as an entry
point to treatment (UNAIDS 2000). This program has been one of the most important parts of national
strategic plan to prevent and control HIV in Indonesia ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Indeed, Wright and Katz (2006) announced that the amounts of suicide cases in the USA were not
increased after the approval of home testing kits by FDA in 1996. On the other hand, some people
feared that notification of negative result in home testing would diminish the chances to educate at
risk individuals to understand their risky behavior. Meanwhile, in VCT setting there are less concerns
about this problem because it has face to face counseling for patients with any results. However, it is
believed that direct counseling services currently provided in clinic based testing are ineffective
because they are too brief and inadequate (Harris 2005). Moreover, according to a study that
interviewed at risk individuals, most of them supported the argument that current face to face
counseling services were not necessarily optimal and also supported the introduction of new
counseling methods like brochures, magazine, and telephone counseling (Spielberg et al. as cited in
Whellams 2008). In fact, it has been demonstrated in a study by Frank et al. (1997) that pre test and
post test telephone counseling provided in anonymous HIV home collection kits offered a safe and
effective substitute to traditional VCT method.
Another drawback of at home testing kit especially OraQuick In Home Test is that it is not as accurate
as HIV blood tests currently used in the clinical setting. Its sensitivity is inferior to standard HIV
blood tests, especially the

Watches In The Military
Egyptian and Babylonian astronomers used the sundial as a primitive form of today s smart watch.
Train conductors have utilized pocket watches to maintain a tight and precise schedule due to their
accurate time keeping. Watches in the military have components such as tachometers, barometers, and
atomic timekeepers that aid in more than just timekeeping. Wall Street uses watches to coordinate
trades and exchanges in stock. Watches are depended upon all over the world without being thought of
as much. When a wristwatch is used every day continually its value doubles not only in sentimental
value, but the rarity of the timepiece increases.
Continuing its groundbreaking technological advancements in recent days, according to Dave Paresh

placed on the subdial. The subdial is the main display seen on any watch, on the subdial, there can be

These parts are protected by the case, lug, and bezel. The device is secured to the wearer s wrist with a
band made from a variety of materials such as steel, leather, and silicon. But the key feature of the
mechanical watch is the crown as it is used to wind and power the watch with coils storing tension and
releasing it ever so slightly. Patek Phillipe, Audemars Piquet, Panerai, and, Rolex are just some of the
most renowned mechanical watch makers in the world. These companies have been the pioneers of

The Simulation Design Score Affects The Participant...
Vanessa Schott Written Comprehensive Exam 1.???????What is the goal of ordinary least squares
(OLS) regression? (OLS is the formal name of the typical kind of regression analysis) The goal of
ordinary least squares (OLS) regression is to best predict one variable?s behavior against another. For
example, I would like to predict a participant?s Clinical Judgment Score against the simulation?s
Simulation Design Score. My research question is Does the Simulation Design Score affect the
participant Clinical Judgment Score? My hypothesis is that as the Simulation Design Score increases
the participant?s Clinical Judgment Score will also increase. Therefore concluding the better the
design of the simulation experience the better the participant will learn clinical judgement skills. If the
variables are positively correlated, as the Simulation Design Scores increases the participants? Clinical
Judgment Scores will increase. If the variables are negatively correlated, as the Simulation Design
Scores increase the participants? Clinical Judgment Scores would decrease. If Clinical Judgment
Scores do not react consistently in relation to Simulation Design Scores, they are either non linear or
are not correlated. 2.???????How does regression work (statistically, what happens when you perform
a regression)? To continue my hypothetical research question: I would run a simulation and afterwards
each participant would evaluate the simulation using the Simulation Design Scale. Next

The Sexual Dysfunction Problem for Men
Premature ejaculation (PE) is a frequent and under treated problem for males and their sexual partners.
PE is the most common sexual dysfunction problem for men, with an estimated 14 30% of males ages
18 years and older reporting PE globally. However, the prevalence of PE is difficult to determine
because of the ambiguity surrounding the definition of clinically relevant PE as well as the reluctance
of sufferers to report their condition . Yet, most previously published clinical trials use the DSM IV
TR definition of PE, defined as : A. Persistent or recurrent pattern of ejaculation occurring during
partnered sexual activity within approximately 1 minute following vaginal penetration and before the
individual wishes it (Note: Although the diagnosis of PE may apply to individuals engaged in non
vaginal sexual activities, specific duration criteria have not been established for these activities) B.
The symptom in Criterion A must have been present for at least 6 months and must be experienced on
almost all or (approximately 75% 100%) all occasions of sexual activity (in identified situational
contexts or, if generalized, in all contexts) C. The symptom in Criteria A causes clinically significant
distress in the individual. D. The sexual dysfunction is not better explained by a nonsexual mental
disorder or as a consequence of severe relationship distress or other significant stressors and is not
attributable to the effects of a substance/medication or another medical

Factors Behind Unionization

Ladies Garment Workers Union, formally request the return of previously striking employees.
Domsey wholesale used clothing from its warehouse in Brooklyn, New York. On January 30, 1990,

The owner uses this judgment as an example for his management s behavior, that they must follow the
existing laws of the employees rights to unionize, and understand that no one is over the law. Final
Analysis: The fact that the business management s are in opposition to unionization for a long time is
measured as a disincentive to the expansion of private sector unions. Normally, the challenges of
impeding unions of starting organizing, consist of carrots and sticks accessible to employees of the
company. Sticks on hand of the management to impede possible unionization efforts, consisting of
captive meetings of verbal communication by administrators, persecution of potential union influential
employees, lay of the union leaders, and failing to bargain honestly over primary agreements. Carrots
offered to employees as an ingredient of the effort to stop organizing forces from happening, including
a salary increase, employee participation programs, and supplementary category of monetary
contribution in the earnings of the company. Likewise, unions provide to the workforce a
representation in government and on the collective policy matter, with the purpose of more elevated
causes than its unhelpful effects on the provision of wealth of the members. The unions fight for
public policy concerns from social security reform to health and safety, encompass a

  • 2. The World Is Too Much With Us Figurative Language Throughout the poems The World Is Too Much With Us, by William Wordsworth, and God s Grandeur, written by Gerard Manley Hopkins, figurative language is used in order to share a view of modern nature and society. Poetic devices such as imagery, parallel structure, and alliteration are a few materials that both compare and contrast these two works. By incorporating these, each individual author enhances the overall meaning through the idea of adding depth to the writing. Wordsworth, the creator of The World Is Too Much With Us, uses his poem to serve as a reference to his beliefs on the malicious, cruel world around us, and how people are growing apart from nature. Along with this, Gerard Manley Hopkins words help build upon the beauty and importance of nature, and how God above keeps its well being preserved. Due to all of this, each poem is given unique qualities that relate their meanings to one another. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In William Wordsworth s poem, he uses biblical allusions; for example in the quote, It moves us not. Great God, (Wordswood 9) the author uses a biblical character, God, to enhance the words around it and in Gerard Manley Hopkins writing, he states The world is charged with the grandeur of God (Hopkins 1), in which is used for the same purpose. Along with this, both poets uses imagery in order to influence the attractiveness of nature and the world around, including the line And are up gathered now like sleeping flowers, (Wordswood 7) which instills the picture of flowers in a quiet setting. Here in Hopkins poem, imagery is embedded in the line, Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs , to help construct emphasis on the beauty in the world. In both poems, each author, Wordswood and Hopkins, points at a direct opinion on society and its pros and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Racial Barriers United States of America is a country that has a foundation of diverse social, economic and political factors that have been constantly changing over the last few centuries and have shaped the way in which races and various ethnic groups relate, align, and participate in political processes (Holloway, 2013). The 19th and 20th centuries are seen as the most definitive years which the fate of people of color and other ethnic minorities was determined. The magnitude of social issues and legislations that were enacted during these years ranging from civil right movements, women suffrage, to voting rights were of great significance and most of them are still binding in the current American society (Tyson, 2016). These socio economic and political manifestations in the country have also shaped the race perceptions and some people believe it is the period in history that defined race relations to date. The most volatile issue over the years has been the right to vote irrespective of diversities such as color, income, race, ethnic groups, immigration status, among other factors. People of color have always been on the receiving end of laws that prevent them from voting and exercising their constitutional right of freely electing leaders (Schuit Rogowski, 2016). Despite such laws being abolished over the years through federal and state legislations that aim at bringing equality, the turnout of people of color still remains low to date. This paper aims at examining the possible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Roles Of Men And Women When you think of the roles for men and women in a relationship, what do you think of? Do you see both men and women working full time jobs or do you only see the man working and the wife staying at home? Roles are continuing to change in many ways. People can choose to either get married young or wait until they are older. We get this picture in our head of how our love lives are supposed to be from the media. Some people consider their jobs to be just as important as their relationships. Expectations of relationship roles of men and women have changed greatly from in the past. Katherine Davis stated, Wilson and I are fortunate to have a relationship that allows us to be as committed to our professions as we are to each other (Davis 257). I believe that is the way it is now in the world, both the men and women focusing on their careers. In the past, men were expected to go to work and provide for their families. The women were expected to stay home and take care of the house and the children if they had any. Some people take the same route that Katherine Davis took. She was not necessarily looking for love and she was focused on her career. She then met her fiancé at her summer internship. Back in the day, women were expected to find husbands and have kids as soon as possible. They were unable to just sit around and wait while being occupied by their jobs. Love can be perceived in many different ways. Part of the reason for that is the way the media has changed our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What I didn t know is that regardless of the good and the bad, that the life I lived was sheltered to the point where I couldn t fathom the idea that all people had not lived a life similar to ours. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is very true that although some families are born into poverty, other have fallen into this classification due to various circumstances they endured during the course of life s twists and turns. According to a conservative remark by Thomas J. Surgrue as noted in American Families by Stephanie Coontz, the wages of two underemployed workers barely pull families above the poverty line (Surgrue, p. 245 Coontz). With this in mind, it makes us wonder if there is any hope to rely on for those who live in this area, whether it s two underemployed parents or just a single mother or father. There is barely a difference between those who are suffering because they are unemployed and so it seems that s it even worse for those who are working two dead end jobs and still not breaching the poverty line. Jonathan Kozol speaks of a local high school in the South Bronx when he says that Morris High School is, after all, one of the most beleaguered, segregated, and decrepit secondary schools in United states (Kozol). This finding is different from previous studies that showed East Asian students to have difficulty understanding the academic content resulting in poor adjustment success (Lee, Farruggia, Brown, 2013). To test our main hypothesis, JASP was used to generate data through descriptive statistics, ANOVA and further post hoc analyses. Initially, we generated descriptive statistics to show the raw means. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To test the second hypothesis, further sampled t test comparisons were conducted. Table 3 shows a strong significance between the different categories of adjustment, F(2, 81) = 197.09, p .001, η² = .813; however, the significance was ambiguous. To see where the difference happened, we conducted t test comparisons. When comparing local university adjustment with international university adjustment (t[4] = 1.990, p .05, d = .890), local social interaction with international social interaction (t[4] = 0.732, p .05, d = .328) and local academic achievement with international academic achievement (t[4] = .793, p .05, d = .355) no significance was found. In addition, the significant values were found when academic achievement was compared with university adjustment in domestic and international students. This was a potential error of key score differences between the categories (Table 2). Table 5 provides the complete list of all the comparisons and displays where the results showed significance. Through this statistical analysis, our second hypothesis failed to be true as well. Interestingly, an interaction was found to be significant for social interaction and academic achievement. In the past few years Guatemala is experiencing drought and it is affecting the country s farming capabilities. Recent statistics gathered by VoaNews estimate about 900,000 individuals are troubled by this issue. Like many matters, this has caused a chain reaction resulting in an increase of unemployment. Although a challenge, I envision a possible business opportunity to alter this effect. A strategy that came into mind was a tool utilized to decrease the amount of water irrigated. There is currently a watering system used for a similar purpose called the Tree T Pee (Tree T Pee Site). It would be a great approach to invest and incorporate a modification that can be used in lands abroad like Guatemala. It could also increase the employment rate and create new jobs. Despite the downfalls, Guatemala continues to be well known for its beauty and culture that comes from the indigenous people. For example, one of the most important national symbols in Guatemala is the Quetzal. The layout of this poem is based on the French motto of liberté, égalité, fraternité (or liberty, equality, fraternity) which is mentioned in the third stanza of the poem. The first two stanzas of the poem refer to the lack of liberty for the people being discussed. The second stanza then goes on to talk about the many ways equality is missing from the lives of the Senegalese in France. Finally, the third stanza is about the fraternity that is present when they return to Senegal. The poem shows that despite it being the French motto, these three things are not present in their society. In fact, they are more present in Senegal. In Dee s case, she goes out to make all that can of herself while leaving her past behind, in comparison to Maggie, who stays back with her roots and makes the most out of the surroundings that she has been placed in. Dee oppresses herself in many ways by the limitations that she puts on herself with her family and new lifestyle. All of the choices she decides, to make herself a more well rounded person, to better fit into society, end up making her a deplorable person because of the harm that it has on her family. Literary critic Mary Helen Washington believes Dee is an example of a stereotypical assimilated women who alienates them self from their roots, and cuts them self off from real contact with their own people and their inner self (22). This concept explains why Dee rarely makes trips home, and shows that she is really disowning a part of herself by not accepting her family and past. On a personal level, Maggie does not contain the strong willed personality of her sister, but is very content with her family s past, and the direction that her life is taking. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without getting too far into the science of how an electric car works, battery power is a much more efficient use of energy. One of the biggest reasons is because it conserves gasoline. The conservation of gasoline is a great concern for many reasons, one of which is that the amount of money spent on refining oil to produce the fuel is great. The oil industry plays a large role in the auto industry. Oil currently hovers above $100 per barrel. Oil is a necessity for operating machinery, enabling a car to function, and manufacturing gasoline. According to the California Energy Commission, as of March 10, 2014, the price of crude oil was $2.55. Ten years before that, the price was $.84, and in March 1999, the price was $.29. These prices reflect the daily market price for crude oil from the Alaska North Slope (California Energy Commission, 2014). These figures show that oil is getting increasingly expensive to produce, and that is reflected at the pump. Hybrids have the ability to use battery and gas power, and electric cars use no gasoline at all. For this reason, electric cars are on their way to becoming more and more appealing to consumers.
