The Toronto Transit System And Municipal Transit Agency
Over the past several years, Toronto has struggled to find new dedicated streams of revenue to fund its
regional transit system, all while Metrolinx, the provincial transit agency is developing the province s
Big Move plan in hopes of connecting the Greater Toronto and
Hamilton Area transportation system. The province stopped funding the TTC s operating funds in
1996 and since then, the City of Toronto has relied on a subsidy from the city and fares to balance this.
Later in 2006, Metrolinx was created by the Province of Ontario as the first
Regional Transportation Agency for the GTHA and in 2016, Move the GTHA reveals a $30 billion
funding gap which begs the questions of who should fund the regional transit system and by what
mechanisms? It is very hard for a city as large as Toronto to keep up with its funding for regional
transit without much efforts from the provincial or federal government. The Toronto Transit
Commission (TTC) is falling behind on a massive deficit when funding its Operating Budget.
Only two thirds of the TTC s Operating Budget are covered by fares. These fares generate about $1.1
billion of the TTC s $1.6 billion operating budget. The rest primarily comes from a city subsidy, which
is $428 million, up from $411 million in 2013 according to Jennifer Palisoc
(Palisoc, 2014). With the continuous struggle of efforts to get Toronto s transit system back up on its
feet again, the Province of Ontario created Metrolinx; an organization

Factors Affecting The Best For Watering Plants With Water
In my science experiment, I am trying to see which liquid works the best for watering plants with
Water, Milk, Pepsi, Kool Aid, Vinegar, and Propel(Sports Drink).
HYPOTHESIS:
If the plants with water, milk, pepsi, vinegar, propel, and kool aid are watered every other day and
given the equal amount of sunlight, the growing plant with water will grow the tallest, because
anybody with at least a fourth grade education know that plants are mostly watered with water. Water
should be the best liquid solution.
VARIABLES:
The independent variable in my experiment is watering my bean plants with different type of liquids.
The dependent variable in my experiment is the plants height measured using a centimeter ruler. The
control variables in my ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Water helps the plant stand tall by delivering nutrients to it. This is why a plant drops over when it s
dying of thirst. A liquid with the right amount of nutrients will help the plant grow.
Water can split up into the two things it s made up of hydrogen and oxygen.
Other liquids are not nessecerally made up of hydrogen and oxygen, so the effect on plant growth will
change.
Cellular respiration is something a plant uses as help for growing. It is glucose combines with oxygen,
making carbon dioxcide and water, which releases energy: the energy helps the plant grow.
MATERIALS:
To preform my experiment, I will need...
Plastic Bowls (6)
Green Bean Seeds (24)
Supply of Water
Supply of Milk
Supply of Kool Aid
Supply of Vinegar
Supply f Pepsi
Supply of Propel
1/3 cup measuring cup
Labels
Paper and pen (to record data)

PROCEDURE:
The steps for my project are...
1. Plant the beans, take the bean seed and plant as directed on the package.
2. Label, stick the labels onto the cups and label Milk, Water, Vinegar, Kool Aid, Sports Drink, an
Pepsi.
3. Water, water plant A with ¼ cup of water. Water plant B with ¼ cup of milk. Water plant C with ¼

Interest Groups and Policy Making
The involvement of civil society and interests in policy making is a constructive way to involve
representative groups in the policy process and is conducive to economic growth Discuss whether you
agree with this statement, with reference to Olson s critique of interest groups.
Introduction
The aim of this assignment is to look at the effect civil society and interest groups have on policy
making and how in turn these are either conducive or not to the economy. Olson s critique of interest
groups will also be examined.
What are interest groups?
Interest groups are non profit, non violent associations of individuals or other organisations that are
independent of governments that aggregate interests and inject them into the policy ... Show more

He goes on to explain how the law when finally passed is unlikely to mirror their exact interest, as
when it moved through the legislative process other interest groups asserted their influence to modify
it in ways to accommodate their interest. This gives us a simple but clear idea of the effect interest
groups have on policy making and makes one wonder the conduciveness of such actions to the
economy if politics are to pamper to the interests of interest groups. Murphy (2010) also outlined that
interest groups do not only effect government but they also exercise their influence on policy through
public and private channels both directly and indirectly.
Social Partnership
Since 1987 Ireland has conducted public policy by means of social partnership between the state and
economic and social interests. The National Economic and Social Council (NESC) is an advisory
body which employers, trade unions, farmers and civil servants analyse policy issues and seek
consensus on policy directions. This was then replaced by the National Economic and Social Forum
(NESF) to include members of the Oireachtas, the traditional social partners and others form the
unemployed sectors and women s organisation. Partnership (2000) was negotiated by this wider set of
ogranisations. In the 1996 report on Strategy into the 21st Century , the NESC outlined a variety of

Netflix and Internet Television
Netflix s main goal is to be the first company to expand internet television. They believe that Internet
TV is the future of the television industry and will soon replace linear TV. The portability, flexibility
and personal aspect of Internet TV is the future and Netflix s goal is to be the first to get there. They
believe that if they can dominate this industry then they will have achieved their goals. They do this
by sticking to what they have always done: they do not have advertisements, they have their low
monthly fee, and their few original shows. Their strategy is to quickly expand into all aspects that are
possible, while remaining profitable globally. One big challenge that Netflix will have to tackle, is
dealing with bootleg websites. These websites provide more popular shows and movies for free. These
websites also offer quicker access to these shows and movies than Netflix. Netflix takes longer to add
shows and movies to the website. Most subscribers are satisfied with Netflix s services when they
become members, but the one main complaint is that there are not a lot of popular options and they
feel like there should be since they are paying for this service. Another reason that is tricky, is because
the legality of the content may be compromised. That is one of the biggest factors as to why Netflix
has not expanded their content. Running into legal issues makes them no different than their illegal
counterparts. They will also have to address the fact that

Essay On The Causes Of The Civil War
Civil War noun a war between political factions or regions within the same country. The regions in the
Civil War of 1860 that took place in 1860 1864 were the North and the South. They had different
beliefs that eventually sent them into war. The 3 main causes of this civil war were: states rights,
economy, and most importantly, slavery.
The first of the three main causes is states rights. The south believed they had the right to take their
slaves to the new states being admitted into the Union. In the secession document written by the State
of Virginia, it says, Powers granted under the said Constitution were derived from the people and To

From the article, Economics and the civil war Schulman points out, Southern planters were concerned
that high tariffs might make their European trading partner, primarily the British, raise prices on
manufactured goods imported by the south in order to maintain a profit on trade. The south were
afraid of high tariffs since they could hurt them financially in business (Schulman). Also from the
article 1828 Tariff of Abominations Alchin says The South, who had once favored Henry Clay s Tariff
1816 and his American System which financed the construction of new roads into the west, now
opposed both. To explain, The south were originally for the Tariff and American System but now did
not like either since they help them and only hurt them (Alchin).
The view on tariffs was much different in the north though, they viewed them as good and helpful
since the tariffs did not really affect them other than help. In the article, Economics and the Civil War ,
Schulman states In the North, however, high tariffs were viewed favorably because such tariffs would
make imported goods more expensive. Tariffs that were high would promote American goods by
making European goods seem more expensive (Schulman). The article 1828 Tariff of

The Treaty Of The Old Testament
In the days of the Old Testament, if you wanted to make a deal with someone, you could either make a
promise, or make a covenant with them. However, an important distinction needs to be made here. A
promise can be broken without severe consequence. To the people of the Ancient Near East, a
covenant closely resembled a Suzerainty Treaty; this was a legal bond between two parties, one being
the Suzerain with power, and another being the Vassal, that is agreeing to help from the Suzerain. The
treaty describes blessings that will occur from Suzerain to Vassal if the treaty is upheld, and cursings if
it is not. This document would be accompanied by a ceremony that involved the cutting of animals
into halves, laying the halves into a path, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sign of the covenant is a rainbow, mentioned in Gen. 9:13. Following such a devastating scale of
destruction by water, God wanted His bow to be a sign whenever clouds appeared that He would be
faithful to His covenant with all flesh on earth. The character of God described through this covenant
is His great care for every aspect of His creation. Through Genesis 9:9 11, God describes in great
detail who and what shall benefit from the covenant He makes with Noah. He not only mentions Noah
s immediate family (which in turn is the peoples of the earth), but even goes as far to describe His care
for the beasts of the earth. Busenlitz says The reason for such detail is to make the divine concern for
even the least of the creatures strongly apparent (p 184). God s incredible care for His people carries
over into the next covenant, with assurances of not only earthly glories, but heavenly also. Abrahamic
Covenant The Abrahamic covenant is God s assurance to make Abraham s name great, but eventually
make His name greater. The main promises associated with the Abrahamic covenant are I will give all
these lands , I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky , and through your
offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed (Niehaus, 251 52). This covenant was significant

Benefits Of Avocado
2.2 Health and Medicinal Benefits of Avocado
Avocado has several medicinal and health benefits (Irvine, 1961 and Pamplona and Roger, 1998). The
skin of the avocado is used as an antibiotic, for ridding the intestinal tract of parasites, and as a remedy
for dysentery. The seeds are roasted and pulverized for the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery. In the
powdered form, the seeds have been used as a dandruff treatment. Pieces of avocado seed are placed
in tooth cavities as a toothache palliative. It is recorded that Amazonian natives used avocado to treat
gout. When the pulp of the avocado fruit is added to the diet it helps to reduce cholesterol levels
(Pamplona and Roger, 1998).
Various studies have confirmed that apart from being a source ... Show more content on

However, because of the need to utilize surpluses and imperfect fruits, it has been of interest to
process the fruit for extended shelf life time and marketability. Unfortunately, avocado is very
sensitive to heating or freezing. The fruit develop off flavours (Bates, 1970) and discoloration (Golan
et al., 1977) even after the minimal thermal treatment needed to destroy spoilage microorganisms and
deactivate enzymes (Cruess et al., 1951; Brown, 1972; Gracia et al., 1976). Compounds involved in
off flavour and bitterness vary in polarity between neutral lipids to phospholipids (Bates, 1970) and
include 1 acetoxy 2, 4 dihydroxy n heptadeca 16 ene and 1, 2, 4 trihydroxy n heptadeca 16 ene (Ben
Et et al., 1973). Likewise freezing is detrimental to texture and flavor of whole avocado. Although
rapid freezing of avocado slices by liquid Freon (Smith and Winter,1970) or liquid nitrogen with
proper treatment with ascorbic and malic acids (Hanson, 1976) were claimed to produce an acceptable
product, these producers still wait for large scale implementation. In practice, since the available
mechanical equipment separates mashed pulp from the peel after manual removal of the seed, only
mashed avocado can serve as a raw material for processing. Indeed, a frozen puree known as
guacamole salad is the only avocado product of commercial relevance. This product can be stored for
weeks frozen at 18°c (Hester and Stephens, 1970; Salomon et

Workplace Observation Essay
In the workplace there are many different aspects of the organization. Some of the aspects or culture
of an organization are organizational diversity, dress and language, how communication flows, and
organizational policies. Below I will discuss several aspects of the company I work for and define
what the different cultures are.
How Communication Flows
As we know today there are many ways how to communicate. There is email, verbal, Internet,
intranet, etc? However, there is only two ways communications flows. There is upward
communication defined as ?communication from an employee to supervisor, supervisor to department
head, department head to vice president, and so on.? (Abbott 2005) The other flow is downward
communication, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In my organization all the different departments of the company contribute to the Policies manual. The
policy is reviewed yearly, and addendums are made. The IT dept which is the department I am in, add
to the policy?s about Internet Usage, Email usage, storage sizes of the mailboxes etc.. We clearly state
that anything, is done on the company?s computer is subject to monitoring. In many cases mangers
advise that they want a specific employee?s Internet monitored, or email monitored. We then report
back to the manger that requested it, and they take it up with Human Resources. Our rule is that a
county manager has to request it, and has to be good reasoning. Other departments, like the legal
counsel talk about arbitration, before going to any courts. The accounting dept talks about fraud, the
human resource department talks about attendance, and leave of absences, benefits etc? you get the
idea. As you can see this easily answers many question when a new employee comes on board.
Dress and Language
The Dress code is usually defined in the policy handbook to clearly state what is expected of the
employee. There is no standard set, however, in a business environment it?s expected that women and
men dress in a formal manner shirts, slacks, ties, etc? In a restaurant they may have a uniform, at the
mall it may be that stores clothing in

The Psychological Disorder Of The American Psychiatric...
Reaction Paper

Xiaoying Zhang
Prepared for:
Dr. Chapman
Introduction
The fifth edition released by the American Psychiatric Association concerning the Diagnostic and
Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM 5) was announced in May of 2013. This version differs
because DSM 5 combines two disorders that have been previously identified in DSM 4, which are
alcohol abuse and alcohol dependence, into one type of disorder. DSM 5 labels this as alcohol use
disorder, or AUD, which is then further subdivided into three classifications: mild, moderate, and
severe (Alcohol Use Disorder, 2015, p. 1). In this paper, I will discuss the psychological disorder of

28). This gives credence to AUD as a psychological disorder due to the attitudinal changes that can be
evidenced as a result to consumption of alcohol.
I have witnessed the effects of AUD firsthand in the person of Mr. Lee, who is my uncle s neighbor
and who lives in the same block where our family resides. He works at a local canning factory as a
supervisor in the production area for more than three decades, and is generally always seen in the
company of other Asians likewise employed in the said factory. Most probably in his middle forties,
Lee is married and has three children aged 12, 8, and 4, who are all studying at a community school
not far from our places of residence. Lee s wife works as a janitress at a nearby small arcade that sells
imported herbal goods, Asian massage services, an acupuncture clinic, and thrift shop. Generally, it is
easy to perceive Lee as a normal family man belonging to the lower middle class whose only concern
is in providing for the everyday needs of his wife and children, in terms of food, shelter and education.
I can say that I know Lee quite closely because I often see him in the street or in one of his friends
front lawn every time I go visit my uncle, which is only about 20 minute walk from my house. More
so, my perception of Lee is supplemented by the stories my uncle tells me, which despite of somewhat
being amusing for my uncle, is a bit unnerving on my part. In this respect, it had been mentioned in

The Relationship Between Cigarette Smoking And Novel Risk...
Relationship Between Cigarette Smoking and Novel Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease In The
United States
In a study of the general population of the United States, over 17,000 individuals were examined on
the relationship between cigarette smoking and the levels of homocysteine, fibrinogen, and serum C
reactive protein. Cigarette smoking and cardiovascular disease have been linked and the topic has not
been studied much. Cardiovascular disease was the cause of death in 40% of the United States in
1999. Stroke, congestive heart failure, coronary heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease can also
result from cigarette smoking. In the study, there were 4,187 current smokers, 4,791 former smokers,
and 8,375 never smokers eighteen or older participating from the years 1988 and 1994. Three
thousand people were excluded from the study because their C reactive proteins had little information.
This left 16,596 people in the study for C reactive proteins. In the analysis for fibrinogen, 2,000
people lacked the information for fibrinogen. Because the participants in the fibrinogen analysis had to
be over 40 years of age, 9350 were left for this analysis. Between 1991 and 1994 (phase 2 of the
study), homocysteine levels were measured. Close to 1,500 were missing homocysteine values, so
7,458 were examined.
The data for the study was collected through home interviews and clinical examinations. Patients had
their blood pressure measured six times total (three in the home

The Jilting Of Granny Weatherall Rhetorical Analysis
This article discusses both the deeper meanings of the story as well as the stylistic methods Porter uses
to tell the story. The great insights offered by The Jilting of Granny Weatherall , are the sanctity of the
human heart and the existential loneliness of the human condition (Blake 3). The story shows how,
though Granny had a quite wholesome life having married well, bore children and successfully
operated a farm for years after her husband s death her being jilted by George left her with a lasting
wound that she was forced to hide from all of her loved ones. This shows humans fragility and how
people, once harmed, are never quite the same. Also, discussed by the essay s author is how Porter
contrasted simple diction and the stream of consciousness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The conclusion of this story suggests the ultimate loneliness for a devout Catholic, the absence of
God; the impact of this event should have been further scrutinized and explored to convey
understanding of its implications. In the section of the text dedicated to stylistic exploration, the author
provides a competent analysis of the diction and methods used in the story that show understanding of
the text. Blake describes the effect of the stream of conscience technique in this writing by equating
the reader s experience to one who is able to enter Granny Weatherall s mind, to share her memories,
and to experience the pain of her rejection (3). Analysis that is also of interest is Blake s point of view
on the use of floating images that are replaced by images of falling towards the end of the story.
Granny goes from float[ing] around in her skin to being curled down within herself (Porter).
Furthermore, his insight into this aspect of Porter s writing and its effect on the conveyance of the
story s message are illuminating and well supported. Overall, this article is well written and insightful
in reference to stylistic analysis, showing understanding of the text, but lacks perspicacity into the the
theme as it relates to the end of the

He further states that this type of learning procedure is more reassuring for children who wants to
know what is taking place in an activity, task or routine.
Consequently, research carried out by Ahissar, (2004) has also suggested that many children learn
better when they have pictures to help them. This is as a lot of children are visual learners, which
means they learn by seeing things rather than listening. This resource hence assists children who may
suffer from anxiety which is mostly due to them being new to the setting or them not being able to
understand routines. Lewalter, (2003) has stated that a visual routine is required as many children
learn better when they are supported with photographic images, this is as they tend to mainly be visual
learners. Therefore, visual routine can maximise a child s strengths to develop in areas that they find
more difficult.
This resource as a result links to the Early Years Foundation Stage, (EYFS) (2008). The area of the
EYFS that this creative resource address is Communication and Language development. as it supports
and encourages children to develop literacy and language skills. Furthermore, it is widely supported
by Gandin, (1995) who has also specified that children are seen as naturally visual learners, and

Experimental And Analytical Studies Have Increased...
Introduction 1: Over the past quarter century, the number of both experimental and analytical studies
have increased dramatically on the monotonic axial behavior of FRP confined concrete columns, and
as a result, many uniaxial stress strain models have been generally developed; however, most of these
studies have focused largely on FRP confined circular plain (unreinforced) concrete cylinders
numerous authors tested (e.g., Mirmiran and Shahawy 1997;Mirmiran et al.1998; Xiao and Wu 2000;

However, the number of studies on the axial stress strain behavior of FRP confined RC columns
subjected to a cyclic axial compression loading has been going up slowly, particularly for noncircular
RC columns. A better understanding of the latter and a sufficient summary of laboratory testing results
can lead to the development of well informed and calibrated cyclic uniaxial stress strain model. In fact
, Research is more limited on the cyclic axial stress strain behavior of FRP confined rectangular
reinforced concrete columns of large scale, unlike several cited articles that previously explored the
influence of the cyclic axial loading on the behavior of FRP confined unreinforced concrete specimens
including cylinders and noncircular specimens of small size many researchers tested (e.g., Shao et al.

are canceled most of the time because she is either not at home, or is not able to function that day. This
child has decided not to have any treatment for the cervical cancer as this would prevent her from
being able to become pregnant in the future. She has also decided to have the baby. Apparently she
does not understand the ramifications involved if she does not have the cancer surgery/treatment with
regard to the safety and health of the child she is carrying as well as her own. There have been
numerous professional people involved in the ongoing care of this child. Various doctors,
psychiatrists, Social Services, Child Protective Advocates, the courts, a mentor and school councilors
have been looking out for the welfare of this child for at least 3 years. In spite of the fact that she has a
history of drugs and alcohol, and has anger management issues and suicide attempts, nobody has taken
these red flags seriously enough to protect her from herself. The parents of this child are divorced.
They are also dysfunctional. Problems have existed in this family from the beginning. An

Monologue Of Tamburlaine
The play opens in the court of the feeble Persian king Mycetes, where Tamburlaine is reported as a
daring thief who is said to have foolish dreams of empire. Tamburlaine appears first in the next scene,
accompanied by Zenocrate and her attendants whom he has captured, and by his lieutenants. He is
confident of his powers and his future conquests. When Zenocrate addresses him hesitantly, My lord
for so you do import he replies, I am a lord, for so my deeds shall prove (p.9) thus announcing his
conviction that nobility is a matter of acquirement and not of birth. The whole speech expresses
vaguely Tamburlaine s sense of the grandeur and dignity of his ambitions. Toward the end of the first
act he demonstrates his growing sense of personal ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Tamburlaine does not see the gods as the defenders of the innocent or as the guardians of honour and
blessed majesty prayed to by his incapable enemies. Instead, they are the archetypes of the restless
passion for achievement which he represents. Tamburlaine believes that such an aspiration is imposed
on man by his very constitution:
Nature that framed us of four elements
Warring within our breasts for regiment,
Doth teach us all to have aspiring minds. (p.26)
The elements are fighting in man and the allusions to the forces of nature in violent conflict are
representative of this idea. The use of such images seems to be that man conforms to the order of
nature. For instance, Tamburlaine s description of the action of his army:
Even as when windy exhalations,
Fighting for passage, tilt within the earth. (p.9)
Keeping his kingly body in a cage,
That roofs of gold and sun bright palaces
Should have prepar d to entertain his grace?

Whose feet the kings of Africa have kiss d? (p.34)

My Statement Of Purpose For Electronics And Communication...
Albert Einstein once said that The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious the
fundamental emotion which stands at the cradle of true art and true science . This is the feeling I
experienced when I had started observing and analyzing things around me as a kid. Every query
answered urged me to know more and to broaden my horizons the first steps perhaps towards
research.
Electronics and Communication is an industry that has changed the way we live to a large extent. It is
the industry that is going to shape our lives for many more years to come. My decision for choosing
the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering as my major was not a hasty one, it was a
field that had always fascinated me since I was a kid. The way the light in the refrigerator
automatically switches on/off as it s door is opened or closed; how the channels of a television can be
tuned just by clicking a button on the remote control; how we can talk to people who live at the
opposite end of the world through a telephone; every small mystery fascinated me but the answers
were nor completely conceivable to me and egged me on to know more and expand my knowledge.
Thus I decided to enter the cave of Electronics.

Research Paper On The Five People You Meet In Heaven
The Five People You Meet in Heaven The Five People You Meet in Heaven is an amazing book that
shows how every life is connected, and that every life matters. The Five People You Meet in Heaven is
a book about an older man named Eddie who is a maintenance worker for an amusement park called
Ruby Pier where he works all of his life and his dad before him. Ruby Pier was built some seventy
five years ago and has changed immensely since it was built. The Five People You Meet in Heaven
describes heaven as meeting five people who impacted your life or you impacted theirs and teach you
a lesson. The first person Eddie meets is a man named Joseph Corvelzchik better known as the Blue
Man Eddie did not know the Blue Man very well but Eddie killed him accidentally and Eddie had no
idea he killed him. When Eddie was younger his brother and him were playing catch and Joe, Eddie s
brother, threw the ball over Eddie s and Eddie instinctively turned to go get the ball and was almost hit
by a car who swerved out of the way to avoid hitting Eddie. The man driving the car was the Blue
Man who swerved around Eddie and swerved around another car eventually swerving down an
alleyway and dying of a heart attack. The Blue Man is a great example of how every life is connected

Montessori Cultural Competence
Cultural competence methods involved materials related to the arts, science, and social science.
Montessori cultural activities have an important language component. Teaching different cultures to
children are important. It helps them to have an appreciation for other nationalities, cultural
backgrounds, spiritual beliefs, languages, and act. Dr. Maria Montessori would create classrooms that
were filled with many different objects that are associated with other parts of the country. Each student
will take part of the activity that involves the paths of culture. As children learn different aspects of
culture this allows the children to understand how each culture differs and hopefully become a
participating and contributing member of society. Montessori education for young children helps to
increase their independency to adult hood. Children are allowed to learn at their own pace, rather than
learn at another child pace. This learning concept helps to develop long term experiences that the child
will carry on into adulthood. It focusses on less dependency on a teacher for guidance. It allows a
child to make decisions based on their way of learning. The teachers are present during the learning
phases. However, the child is responsible to think strategic and come to realistic conclusions. In
return, the child will succeed because the child is learning at his/her own pace. Lev Vygotsky was a

Since Canada has been founded by European settlers and constituted as a country, there has been
victimization against First Nations people by the Canadian government. There are three problems that
will be addressed, First off, the government has been taking away and in some cases polluting the First
Nations land (Lukacs, M, 2015). Secondly, to this day the Canadian government pays less attention to
missing aboriginal women. (Still thinking about the second point) Finally, in the past, there has been
serious discrimination toward the First Nations people from residential schools (News, C, 2016). With
each problem, there can also be a solution. As each point will be discussed, the best solution will be

Literature Review of Celebrity Endorsement
Running head: A LITERARY REVIEW OF CELEBRITY ENDORSEMENT
Celebrity Endorsement in Mass Media Advertising Brands Celebrity endorsement in mass media
advertising has become a very beneficial phenomenon for many countries and has significantly
increased in the past decade, and should be the main principle of brand communications since it is the
key to marketing success. Any product that is displayed in a television commercial or magazine
advertisement by a corporation that uses a celebrity or well known public figure to give a testimonial
or information about the product, is practicing celebrity endorsement. Although commonly thought of
starting in the United States, celebrity endorsement began in India during the 80s but has since ...

She was dropped from her endorsements from large companies Burberry, H M, and Chanel, when
photographs of her snorting cocaine surfaced in magazines and websites. Companies using a celebrity
endorser take into account the serious consequences (loss of revenue, bad image) of putting a tainted
face to their product since as stated above, the brand s whole personality is often dependent on the
celebrity endorser.
Another aspect that is taken into account pertaining to the effectiveness of the celebrity endorser is to
directly measure the degree that the consumers evaluate the celebrity as genuinely liking the product
that they are endorsing. According to Gilbert and Malone (1995), these evaluations are recognizable
under a type of judgment called
correspondent inferences. Correspondent inferences generally refer to a judgment that consumers
observe the endorser s behavior in the advertisement to then infer consistent character in the endorser.
For example, the consumer would observe an athlete saying he loves the breakfast cereal Wheaties,
and then the consumer would infer that the athlete really does, in fact, like Wheaties. Adding to this
study, McCracken (1986) suggests that a celebrity that best represents the appropriate symbolic
properties of the product should be selected, thus, highlighting the importance of the cultural
meanings of celebrities in the endorsement process. Culturally speaking,

In order to achieve this end, they resorted to low intensity asymmetrical warfare, utilizing guerrilla
tactics that the British Army was wholly ill equipped to counter. By 1921, in fact, the British had
realized that it was politically impossible for them to win the war. Victory, for the British, would have
required an even more heavy handed implementation of martial law than what they had already
implemented, which undoubtedly would have been noticed on the other side of the Atlantic. The
United Kingdom needed the support of the United States for various vital strategic agendas in Asia

such that Éamon de Valera had already raised $5.5 million from American supporters of the Irish

which would have derailed the possibility of American support for the United Kingdom s agendas in
the Far East. Upon making this realization, the Government of Prime Minister David Lloyd George

Relationship Between Scottie And Stephanie In Veertigo
Alfred Hitchcock s 1958 drama Vertigo explores the mystery and relationship through ex detective
Scottie and elusive Madeleine. Although some see it as a love story hidden within a psychological
thriller, it is also a critique of cinema, gender, and the sexist issues of the time. The dynamics between
Scottie and Midge and Scottie and Madeleine/Judy demonstrate these issues. Hitchcock uses Scotties
character to portray the uncomfortable male centric viewpoint of most films through plot, mise en
scene, and character blocking. From the beginning of the film, the power in the relationship between
Scottie and Midge illustrates Scottie s struggle with masculinity. Midge is an independent, working,
capable woman who broke off her and Scottie s engagement. ... Show more content on

Once Scottie believes he has lost Madeleine, his perfect, elusive woman, he becomes obsessed with
the familiarity he finds in Judy. He expresses no interest in knowing Judy herself, as the film does not
capture any of this. Instead, it captures his insatiable desire to once again discover Madeleine, the
dream woman that will solve his insecurities within his masculinity. This desire is explained through
his literal makeover of Judy, buying her new clothes, having her hair dyed, having it done a certain
way, etc. When trying on suits an employee in the store comments that Scottie knows exactly what he
wants, the disturbing problem in that being that anything less than his illusion of Madeleine will be
unacceptable to him. Another way Scottie consumes Judy is through positioning in shots. Whereas
Midge is seen as above Scottie, often literally as in their primary scene, Hitchcock uses the kissing
scene between Judy and Scottie to show him progressively becoming literally above and on top of her,
crushing and smothering her beneath him. Furthermore, Judy s character becomes more and more
corpse like as the film progresses. When she is finally transformed into Madeleine, she is depicted in
green and foggy light, making her appear both haunting and ghostly. Even when she is being made
over, when her hair is being died, she looks like a body being prepared for her funeral. The kissing
scene mentioned earlier acts in the same way, her being crushed by him makes her appear lifeless.
Whether she is dead or alive, Hitchcock shows the viewer that it does not matter to Scottie. The
deepening of this throughout the film, culminating in Judy being actually dead and destroyed beneath
Scottie from the window, exposes the overwhelming and unhealthy nature in his seemingly
affectionate feelings towards

Literary Analysis Of John Keats s Ode To Autumn
Analysis of John Keats Ode to Autumn
My initial reaction to this work evoked a taste of wanting to taste the fruit of season. The poem, Ode
to Autumn, also reverted me back to my years of early reading when I read The Secret Garden . I am
enamored by the way Keats almost makes me see the fruit and vines. Reading about the symbionic
relationship that takes place between the sun and the changing season is awe inspiring; as it relates to
the reaction or the beauty that is created based on that relationship.

His friend Hunt introduced him to many well known people in the Liberal movement. The Romantic
period was wrought with people questioning things through scientific expansion, rationalism and
individualism which helped people to understand the God in things but also wanted to know more
about the science of it all. Which can explain Keats desire to become a surgeon and then to progress to
become a poet gives credit to how Romantics were interested in nature but also in the science that can
explain its splendor (Keats, 1936).
Stylistic Characteristics Keats poem Ode to Autumn is part of series of poems. This particular poem
was the most popular for its contrasting simplicity. He makes you see the relationship of nature by
describing the relationships and reactions. For example the in the first stanza he speaks of the arrival
of autumn and the way the sun works to develop the rest of his surroundings such as the grapes,
gourds and vines. In the poem he references the music of the summer and how the music of the
welcoming of autumn is heard in the gnats, crickets, robins and swallows (Keats, 1936). It is a very
natural way to see the world from Keats perspective. Until now no one has ever given the subjective
experience of surroundings.

Child And Teen Beauty Pageants
It is not easy to be in the public s eye and constantly being watched can take a toll on a person.
Hundreds of child stars have grown up to be consumed with depression, eating disorders, drug and
alcohol addiction, and severe self esteem issues. So why would children that perform in child and teen
beauty pageants be any different? They are constantly being judged by their looks, their actions, their
poise and posture, their attitude and behaviors, the list goes on and on. That could severely affect the
way these children see themselves as they get older. When a child is constantly being watched and
criticized in every aspect, they develop a complex and a need to be perfect, when in fact perfection
does not exist. This is when their depression or drug addictions might seep in, when they realize they
can never live up to the standards that others have set on them. This is a very dangerous place to be,
and no child or teenager should have to suffer through such a time as this. Childhood should be full of
playing outside with friends, going to the pool or amusement park, visiting the beach or the mountains
with family. It shouldn t consist of maintaining perfection with all the fakeness day in and day out, or
there could be some very real consequences that might follow. Although there are massive amounts of
negatives that go along with child beauty pageants, there are also some positive aspects to them. Some
women have gained a great deal of success from entering into beauty

Sexuality In Dracula
After decades of cheesy horror movies, the image of vampires has been misconstrued as sparkly,
angsty teenage boys or handsome men that lure in girls for the fresh blood of a virgin. Many of these
stereotypical vampires are influenced by the story of Dracula, held in the Victorian era. Yet, many of
the stories published about vampires diverge from the message that Bram Stoker is trying to make.
During the Victorian period, sexuality is repressed by society, as sexual behaviors from women are
viewed as unacceptable. In the Gothic horror novel Dracula, Bram Stoker uses the traumatic
experience of Jonathan Harker at Count Dracula s castle and the invasion of vampires in Great Britain
to create a social commentary on the sexual repression occurring in this era and its detrimental effect
on the men.
Throughout the entire novel, Stoker hints at sexual references, based on the characters actions. In
every encounter with female vampires, there is a perverse tone in the wordings of the passage. For
example, during Jonathan Harker s visit to Count Dracula s castle, he encounters three vampire sisters
after he disobeys Dracula s order to not leave his room. Harker s heart has a wicked, burning desire
(Stoker 32) that the three sisters would kiss him. He shows carnal desires as he is approached by these
vampires, unable to refuse their advances on to him, despite his loyalty to Mina. This reveals that the
men of the Victorian era cannot refuse and maybe even fear the unknown sexual

anything from microns to light years across in size which are important and should be consistent with
all the elements in the project so the layers of lines are built up to the patches and that creates the

series of still images that shows how the elements will move and interact with each other. This process
is important to the animator because it helps decide what movements need to be assigned to objects in
the animation. The animator must also have key points of movements for each object in the scene.
This helps the computer to produce motion for each object in a frame by frame sequence. The final
product when put together, gives the look of fluid movement which when the modeler is formed, the
animator provides motion. These designs and elements are nothing but empty or hollow forms

Positive Aspects Of Being An American

The Women s Rights Movement
With the advancement of suffrage to equal pay, over the last century, women s rights have progressed
immensely. Through historic marches and demonstrations across the United States, women protested
for their equal place in politics and social progress. Despite the fear mongering components used in
achieving these rights, women s rights are still thoroughly debated within society today. Over the last
century, incredible and unreachable goals have been fulfilled for women, such as the right to vote and
a sense of equal state in the Free World, and can only improve in the years to come. July 13, 1848
marked the beginning of a movement that would shape the beliefs and rights of today s society. It was
on this day that the fight for social and political equality among America s women began to develop.
This renowned movement, the Women s Rights Movement, had many goals in which mighty powerful
women would achieve with a mind set to push them through any barrier or obstacle obstructing their
path to equality. Lasting until 1920, the Women s Rights Movement had a target towards changing
how women were treated and looked upon within their stereotypical societies. Women advocated their
rights through organizations and campaigns, as well as educating others of the unfair justice. With the
help of the Women s Rights Movement and the brave, fearless women who supported this
reformation, the fight for women s liberation was on the move towards success. This historic

The Negative Effects Of Technology And Its Effects On The...
With all of the technological advances that have been made over the last decade, it is amazing that a

technology only makes our lives more difficult. In doing so it changes the way things used to be done,
it causes a huge lack of communication and lastly, technology is great, until it breaks.
Technology has changed the way that the world does many things. Looking back one of the things that
I miss the most was getting birthday calls or cards. Now all my birthday wishes come on a Facebook
wall. These wishes come from all over the world but most of them are from people I never talk to.
How do they remember my birthday? Is it because I am important to them. Nope! It is because
Facebook has an app that tells them it is my birthday and they feel obligated to wish me a happy
birthday because we are friends on Facebook. While it makes me feel special to know that 683 people
wished me happy birthday on my special day. How many of them would know who I was if I ran into
them at the store? Not many of them would and while it might make us feel good for the moment, it is
not reality. It is technology. It has even changed how we get mail. It used to be that we would have to

  • 2. The Toronto Transit System And Municipal Transit Agency Over the past several years, Toronto has struggled to find new dedicated streams of revenue to fund its regional transit system, all while Metrolinx, the provincial transit agency is developing the province s Big Move plan in hopes of connecting the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area transportation system. The province stopped funding the TTC s operating funds in 1996 and since then, the City of Toronto has relied on a subsidy from the city and fares to balance this. Later in 2006, Metrolinx was created by the Province of Ontario as the first Regional Transportation Agency for the GTHA and in 2016, Move the GTHA reveals a $30 billion funding gap which begs the questions of who should fund the regional transit system and by what mechanisms? It is very hard for a city as large as Toronto to keep up with its funding for regional transit without much efforts from the provincial or federal government. The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is falling behind on a massive deficit when funding its Operating Budget. Only two thirds of the TTC s Operating Budget are covered by fares. These fares generate about $1.1 billion of the TTC s $1.6 billion operating budget. The rest primarily comes from a city subsidy, which is $428 million, up from $411 million in 2013 according to Jennifer Palisoc (Palisoc, 2014). With the continuous struggle of efforts to get Toronto s transit system back up on its feet again, the Province of Ontario created Metrolinx; an organization ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

HYPOTHESIS: If the plants with water, milk, pepsi, vinegar, propel, and kool aid are watered every other day and given the equal amount of sunlight, the growing plant with water will grow the tallest, because anybody with at least a fourth grade education know that plants are mostly watered with water. Interest Groups and Policy Making The involvement of civil society and interests in policy making is a constructive way to involve representative groups in the policy process and is conducive to economic growth Discuss whether you agree with this statement, with reference to Olson s critique of interest groups. Introduction The aim of this assignment is to look at the effect civil society and interest groups have on policy making and how in turn these are either conducive or not to the economy. He goes on to explain how the law when finally passed is unlikely to mirror their exact interest, as when it moved through the legislative process other interest groups asserted their influence to modify it in ways to accommodate their interest. This gives us a simple but clear idea of the effect interest groups have on policy making and makes one wonder the conduciveness of such actions to the economy if politics are to pamper to the interests of interest groups. Murphy (2010) also outlined that interest groups do not only effect government but they also exercise their influence on policy through public and private channels both directly and indirectly. Social Partnership Since 1987 Ireland has conducted public policy by means of social partnership between the state and economic and social interests. The National Economic and Social Council (NESC) is an advisory body which employers, trade unions, farmers and civil servants analyse policy issues and seek consensus on policy directions. This was then replaced by the National Economic and Social Forum (NESF) to include members of the Oireachtas, the traditional social partners and others form the unemployed sectors and women s organisation. • 8. Netflix and Internet Television Netflix s main goal is to be the first company to expand internet television. They believe that Internet TV is the future of the television industry and will soon replace linear TV. The portability, flexibility and personal aspect of Internet TV is the future and Netflix s goal is to be the first to get there. They believe that if they can dominate this industry then they will have achieved their goals. They do this by sticking to what they have always done: they do not have advertisements, they have their low monthly fee, and their few original shows. Their strategy is to quickly expand into all aspects that are possible, while remaining profitable globally. One big challenge that Netflix will have to tackle, is dealing with bootleg websites. These websites provide more popular shows and movies for free. These websites also offer quicker access to these shows and movies than Netflix. Netflix takes longer to add shows and movies to the website. Most subscribers are satisfied with Netflix s services when they become members, but the one main complaint is that there are not a lot of popular options and they feel like there should be since they are paying for this service. Another reason that is tricky, is because the legality of the content may be compromised. That is one of the biggest factors as to why Netflix has not expanded their content. The regions in the Civil War of 1860 that took place in 1860 1864 were the North and the South. They had different beliefs that eventually sent them into war. The 3 main causes of this civil war were: states rights, economy, and most importantly, slavery. The first of the three main causes is states rights. The south believed they had the right to take their slaves to the new states being admitted into the Union. Also from the article 1828 Tariff of Abominations Alchin says The South, who had once favored Henry Clay s Tariff 1816 and his American System which financed the construction of new roads into the west, now opposed both. To explain, The south were originally for the Tariff and American System but now did not like either since they help them and only hurt them (Alchin). The view on tariffs was much different in the north though, they viewed them as good and helpful since the tariffs did not really affect them other than help. In the article, Economics and the Civil War , Schulman states In the North, however, high tariffs were viewed favorably because such tariffs would make imported goods more expensive. Tariffs that were high would promote American goods by making European goods seem more expensive (Schulman). The article 1828 Tariff of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, an important distinction needs to be made here. A promise can be broken without severe consequence. To the people of the Ancient Near East, a covenant closely resembled a Suzerainty Treaty; this was a legal bond between two parties, one being the Suzerain with power, and another being the Vassal, that is agreeing to help from the Suzerain. The sign of the covenant is a rainbow, mentioned in Gen. 9:13. Following such a devastating scale of destruction by water, God wanted His bow to be a sign whenever clouds appeared that He would be faithful to His covenant with all flesh on earth. The character of God described through this covenant is His great care for every aspect of His creation. Through Genesis 9:9 11, God describes in great detail who and what shall benefit from the covenant He makes with Noah. He not only mentions Noah s immediate family (which in turn is the peoples of the earth), but even goes as far to describe His care for the beasts of the earth. Busenlitz says The reason for such detail is to make the divine concern for even the least of the creatures strongly apparent (p 184). God s incredible care for His people carries over into the next covenant, with assurances of not only earthly glories, but heavenly also. • 11. Benefits Of Avocado 2.2 Health and Medicinal Benefits of Avocado Avocado has several medicinal and health benefits (Irvine, 1961 and Pamplona and Roger, 1998). The skin of the avocado is used as an antibiotic, for ridding the intestinal tract of parasites, and as a remedy for dysentery. The seeds are roasted and pulverized for the treatment of diarrhoea and dysentery. In the powdered form, the seeds have been used as a dandruff treatment. Pieces of avocado seed are placed in tooth cavities as a toothache palliative. It is recorded that Amazonian natives used avocado to treat gout. The fruit develop off flavours (Bates, 1970) and discoloration (Golan et al., 1977) even after the minimal thermal treatment needed to destroy spoilage microorganisms and deactivate enzymes (Cruess et al., 1951; Brown, 1972; Gracia et al., 1976). Compounds involved in off flavour and bitterness vary in polarity between neutral lipids to phospholipids (Bates, 1970) and include 1 acetoxy 2, 4 dihydroxy n heptadeca 16 ene and 1, 2, 4 trihydroxy n heptadeca 16 ene (Ben Et et al., 1973). Likewise freezing is detrimental to texture and flavor of whole avocado. Although rapid freezing of avocado slices by liquid Freon (Smith and Winter,1970) or liquid nitrogen with proper treatment with ascorbic and malic acids (Hanson, 1976) were claimed to produce an acceptable product, these producers still wait for large scale implementation. In practice, since the available mechanical equipment separates mashed pulp from the peel after manual removal of the seed, only mashed avocado can serve as a raw material for processing. DSM 5 labels this as alcohol use disorder, or AUD, which is then further subdivided into three classifications: mild, moderate, and severe (Alcohol Use Disorder, 2015, p. 1). He works at a local canning factory as a supervisor in the production area for more than three decades, and is generally always seen in the company of other Asians likewise employed in the said factory. Most probably in his middle forties, Lee is married and has three children aged 12, 8, and 4, who are all studying at a community school not far from our places of residence. Relationship Between Cigarette Smoking and Novel Risk Factors for Cardiovascular Disease In The United States In a study of the general population of the United States, over 17,000 individuals were examined on the relationship between cigarette smoking and the levels of homocysteine, fibrinogen, and serum C reactive protein. Cigarette smoking and cardiovascular disease have been linked and the topic has not been studied much. Cardiovascular disease was the cause of death in 40% of the United States in 1999. Stroke, congestive heart failure, coronary heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease can also result from cigarette smoking. In the study, there were 4,187 current smokers, 4,791 former smokers, and 8,375 never smokers eighteen or older participating from the years 1988 and 1994. Three thousand people were excluded from the study because their C reactive proteins had little information. This left 16,596 people in the study for C reactive proteins. In the analysis for fibrinogen, 2,000 people lacked the information for fibrinogen. Because the participants in the fibrinogen analysis had to be over 40 years of age, 9350 were left for this analysis. Between 1991 and 1994 (phase 2 of the study), homocysteine levels were measured. Close to 1,500 were missing homocysteine values, so 7,458 were examined. The data for the study was collected through home interviews and clinical examinations. The story shows how, though Granny had a quite wholesome life having married well, bore children and successfully operated a farm for years after her husband s death her being jilted by George left her with a lasting wound that she was forced to hide from all of her loved ones. This shows humans fragility and how people, once harmed, are never quite the same. Also, discussed by the essay s author is how Porter contrasted simple diction and the stream of consciousness ... Blake describes the effect of the stream of conscience technique in this writing by equating the reader s experience to one who is able to enter Granny Weatherall s mind, to share her memories, and to experience the pain of her rejection (3). Analysis that is also of interest is Blake s point of view on the use of floating images that are replaced by images of falling towards the end of the story. Another aspect that is taken into account pertaining to the effectiveness of the celebrity endorser is to directly measure the degree that the consumers evaluate the celebrity as genuinely liking the product that they are endorsing. According to Gilbert and Malone (1995), these evaluations are recognizable under a type of judgment called correspondent inferences. But the Irish cause already had immense support among the American population, such that Éamon de Valera had already raised $5.5 million from American supporters of the Irish cause. The American people were very unlikely to be happy if the British resorted to such tactics, which would have derailed the possibility of American support for the United Kingdom s agendas in the Far East. Upon making this realization, the Government of Prime Minister David Lloyd George offered a truce to some very confused Irish ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Relationship Between Scottie And Stephanie In Veertigo Alfred Hitchcock s 1958 drama Vertigo explores the mystery and relationship through ex detective Scottie and elusive Madeleine. Although some see it as a love story hidden within a psychological thriller, it is also a critique of cinema, gender, and the sexist issues of the time. The dynamics between Scottie and Midge and Scottie and Madeleine/Judy demonstrate these issues. Hitchcock uses Scotties character to portray the uncomfortable male centric viewpoint of most films through plot, mise en scene, and character blocking. From the beginning of the film, the power in the relationship between Scottie and Midge illustrates Scottie s struggle with masculinity. Midge is an independent, working, capable woman who broke off her and Scottie s engagement. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Once Scottie believes he has lost Madeleine, his perfect, elusive woman, he becomes obsessed with the familiarity he finds in Judy. He expresses no interest in knowing Judy herself, as the film does not capture any of this. Instead, it captures his insatiable desire to once again discover Madeleine, the dream woman that will solve his insecurities within his masculinity. This desire is explained through his literal makeover of Judy, buying her new clothes, having her hair dyed, having it done a certain way, etc. When trying on suits an employee in the store comments that Scottie knows exactly what he wants, the disturbing problem in that being that anything less than his illusion of Madeleine will be unacceptable to him. Another way Scottie consumes Judy is through positioning in shots. Whereas Midge is seen as above Scottie, often literally as in their primary scene, Hitchcock uses the kissing scene between Judy and Scottie to show him progressively becoming literally above and on top of her, crushing and smothering her beneath him. Furthermore, Judy s character becomes more and more corpse like as the film progresses. When she is finally transformed into Madeleine, she is depicted in green and foggy light, making her appear both haunting and ghostly. Even when she is being made over, when her hair is being died, she looks like a body being prepared for her funeral. The kissing scene mentioned earlier acts in the same way, her being crushed by him makes her appear lifeless. Whether she is dead or alive, Hitchcock shows the viewer that it does not matter to Scottie. The deepening of this throughout the film, culminating in Judy being actually dead and destroyed beneath Scottie from the window, exposes the overwhelming and unhealthy nature in his seemingly affectionate feelings towards ... According to Thompson, Today s tools make it easier for us to find connections between ideas, pictures, people, bits of news that were previously invisible (p.349). • 31. Literary Analysis Of John Keats s Ode To Autumn Analysis of John Keats Ode to Autumn My initial reaction to this work evoked a taste of wanting to taste the fruit of season. The poem, Ode to Autumn, also reverted me back to my years of early reading when I read The Secret Garden . I am enamored by the way Keats almost makes me see the fruit and vines. Reading about the symbionic relationship that takes place between the sun and the changing season is awe inspiring; as it relates to the reaction or the beauty that is created based on that relationship. Hundreds of child stars have grown up to be consumed with depression, eating disorders, drug and alcohol addiction, and severe self esteem issues. So why would children that perform in child and teen beauty pageants be any different? They are constantly being judged by their looks, their actions, their poise and posture, their attitude and behaviors, the list goes on and on. That could severely affect the way these children see themselves as they get older. When a child is constantly being watched and criticized in every aspect, they develop a complex and a need to be perfect, when in fact perfection does not exist. This is when their depression or drug addictions might seep in, when they realize they can never live up to the standards that others have set on them. This is a very dangerous place to be, and no child or teenager should have to suffer through such a time as this. Childhood should be full of playing outside with friends, going to the pool or amusement park, visiting the beach or the mountains with family. It shouldn t consist of maintaining perfection with all the fakeness day in and day out, or there could be some very real consequences that might follow. • 33. Sexuality In Dracula After decades of cheesy horror movies, the image of vampires has been misconstrued as sparkly, angsty teenage boys or handsome men that lure in girls for the fresh blood of a virgin. Many of these stereotypical vampires are influenced by the story of Dracula, held in the Victorian era. Yet, many of the stories published about vampires diverge from the message that Bram Stoker is trying to make. During the Victorian period, sexuality is repressed by society, as sexual behaviors from women are viewed as unacceptable. In the Gothic horror novel Dracula, Bram Stoker uses the traumatic experience of Jonathan Harker at Count Dracula s castle and the invasion of vampires in Great Britain to create a social commentary on the sexual repression occurring in this era and its detrimental effect on the men. Throughout the entire novel, Stoker hints at sexual references, based on the characters actions. In every encounter with female vampires, there is a perverse tone in the wordings of the passage. For example, during Jonathan Harker s visit to Count Dracula s castle, he encounters three vampire sisters after he disobeys Dracula s order to not leave his room. Harker s heart has a wicked, burning desire (Stoker 32) that the three sisters would kiss him. He shows carnal desires as he is approached by these vampires, unable to refuse their advances on to him, despite his loyalty to Mina. This reveals that the men of the Victorian era cannot refuse and maybe even fear the unknown sexual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A storyboard is a series of still images that shows how the elements will move and interact with each other. This process is important to the animator because it helps decide what movements need to be assigned to objects in the animation. The animator must also have key points of movements for each object in the scene. This helps the computer to produce motion for each object in a frame by frame sequence. The final product when put together, gives the look of fluid movement which when the modeler is formed, the animator provides motion. In doing so it changes the way things used to be done, it causes a huge lack of communication and lastly, technology is great, until it breaks. Technology has changed the way that the world does many things. Looking back one of the things that I miss the most was getting birthday calls or cards. Now all my birthday wishes come on a Facebook wall. These wishes come from all over the world but most of them are from people I never talk to. How do they remember my birthday? Is it because I am important to them. Nope! It is because Facebook has an app that tells them it is my birthday and they feel obligated to wish me a happy birthday because we are friends on Facebook. While it makes me feel special to know that 683 people wished me happy birthday on my special day. How many of them would know who I was if I ran into them at the store? Not many of them would and while it might make us feel good for the moment, it is not reality. It is technology. It has even changed how we get mail.
