Plurality And Pluralism In Islam
Based upon my further observation as a scholar and a Muslim, I find a lot of incompatibility about
your interpretation of Islam with the Qur an. The Qur an implies that all religions shall be more
emphasis on pluralism (diversity and tolerance), and I do believe in it. According to my understanding
on pluralism in Islam, it emphasizes more to the religious tolerance, and does not view Islam as the
only religion to be recognized in the world. Pluralism I meant here also can simply be recognized as a
major foundation in maintaining the state and the society because basically people are diverse one
another. As a true pluralism means acknowledging that all members of society have a right to be able
to embrace the religion in which accordance with their beliefs and everyone is obliged to respect and
honor them (as cited by Munawar, 32). Not only Islam, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female; and We have made you into tribes and
subtribes that you may recognize one another. Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of
Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you. Surely, Allah is All knowing, All Aware [49:14] .
This verse explains that as human beings, we are not only taught to get to know each other, but also
have to respect each other and receive a plurality of the society such as religion. Do not get me wrong.
Once again, Pluralism I meant here is respect and tolerance between individuals in religions. We are
all created differently, but is equal in the eyes of Allah; therefore, we should all be able to respect and
tolerate all the differences that exist. In the Qur an itself, Allah also explained as the following verse:
Say, O ye disbelievers! . I worship not that which you worship . Nor worship you what I worship .
And I am not going to worship that which you worship . Nor will you worship what I worship . For
you your religion, and for me my religion [109:

Review Of Joyce Oates Where Are You Going, Where Have You...
After reading Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? , I was quite disturbed as to why
anybody would write a story about a young girl being stalked and possibly raped and murdered. I
wondered what had happened in Joyce Oates life that had caused her to have the desire to use her
literary skills to craft such a story. It seemed senseless to me until I read through the discussion prompt
for this post and saw the link about Charles Schmid. After reading the article and doing some more
research on Charles Schmid, I found that it is widely known that Oates wrote this short story as a
response to reading a Time magazine article about him and the three young girls that he killed. The
headlines in the nation focused on the depravity of American

4G Long Term Evolution Case Analysis
Abstract
Telecommunication technologies have evolved rapidly over the past decades, a situation which led to
the arrival of the 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) to provide faster data speed better than the legacy
3G EVDO data technology. Certainly, LTE has been of great benefit to both individuals and
corporations across the globe. However, operators are often faced with challenges such us Capacity
constraints, slow throughput due to increased numbers of usage, interference from other wireless
equipment, as well as poor coverage issues.
Over the years, telecommunication operators have been adopting strategies to mitigate all these
challenges in order to improve user experience. This research focused specifically on the optimization
of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is also believed that the common issues that occur in the LTE network could be reduced drastically
if attention if given to certain engineering practices. The research revealed and discussed some of
those factors.
Furthermore, to understand the concept of LTE optimization in the practical sense, a case study was
done with drive test data collected on Nex tech wireless network and a detailed analysis was made and
some issues were identified and rectified in the network.
By and large, the findings from the research and the deductions from the case study only proved that
there is a tremendous benefit in adopting a quality optimization strategy in any LTE network. More so,
not only do the subscribers get great quality of service but the operators also make maximum financial
gains.
Introduction
LTE network optimization remains an integral part of the LTE network. The main objective of
optimizing the LTE network is to ensure that (Ue) has good service which translates to good user
experience such as high data speed. The LTE optimization approach usually follows a process.
Optimization engineers follow this process to find out where the problems in the network are as well
as identifying what the problems are and then subsequently proposing ways to resolving them.
The first stage of the process is data collection where very sophisticated tools and

Get Out Film Analysis
Jordan Peele s directorial debut, Get Out, radiates brilliance. It is a fearless, ambitious, bold
psychological suspense/horror film that balances deft comedy flourishes with palpable intensity,
moments of honest psychological horror and great suspense. Quite simply, he has delivered one of the
finest debut films of recent memory.
The buzz grew massive in January when Get Out debuted at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival. People
raved about it and Universal Pictures responded accordingly, rushing it into theaters to capitalize on
the buzz with what is essentially a soft weekend for new movies. You have to understand, the movie

Ethical Issues Essay
Ethical Issues
Ethical issues are moral challenges facing the health care profession (Stanhope Lancaster, 2012, p.
127). Ethical issues is a major concern in the healthcare field because healthcare providers observe
ethical issues every day and have to make ethical decisions. Advance directives are written documents
that addressed an individual s medical care preferences. These documents usually take effect when
patients no longer can make informed health care decisions for themselves. While these documents are
helpful to loved ones and health care providers, there are a number of ethical considerations that can
make the development and execution of advance directives difficult (Llama, 2014). This author is a

How Social Reformers Influenced Edward Bellamy, Henry...
How did social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceive
of liberty and freedom differently than the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like
Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie? Which of these groups was successful in imposing their
vision on the larger society in the years before the turn of the century? Why?
Introduction
Liberty and freedom was conceived differently by the social reformers and the proponents of the
liberty of contract and laissez faire. The difference actually emanated in the manner in which the two
groups interpreted the suitability of the operation of the economy. While the economy can operate on
the basis of capitalism where individualism and private property are the basis of creating wealth, it can
also operate on the basis of collectivity, where communism and pooling of the labor and output
together forms the basis of wealth accumulation for the society. In this respect, the social reformers
such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceived the freedom and liberty
to entail the rights of the laborers to earn better wages, work for a few hours and have a legal tender
mechanism from the government that was not under the control of the banks . On the other hand, the
proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie
conceived the liberty and freedom to entail individualism and private property ownership as the basis

Women s Views On Women
People in Afghanistan tend to think women should not have a voice. Women s opinions are not
considered to be important which is not right. I believe that women s opinions should be heard.
Women s rights have been exploited by different groups for political gain and sometimes for the so
called well being of the country in the last fifty years. Afghanistan has been stuck in a state of war for
over three decades now. The different types of groups that have been coming into the country to fight
have made a huge impact on the people of Afghanistan. This essay will state the type of struggles the
Afghan women are facing on a daily base and are in fact enduring the pain silently. I believe that
women should be treated more equally in education, society and workplace.
Women are not treated the same as men in Afghanistan. The people in Afghanistan tend to believe that
equality should not be given to women because women are only born to serve men and fulfil their
wishes and commands. The disturbing fact is that not only men think this way but most women have
the same thoughts too. Afghanistan is one of the most challenging places for women to live. Their
lifestyle is enormously different from a female s lifestyle in Great Britain. Beginning from the time
they are born to the end of their lifetime, they are facing troubles on a daily basis. Girls are usually
married off at a very young age because parents cannot afford to keep them. Once they are married

What Is The Timeline Of The Big Bang Theory
Timeline of The Big Bang
The broadly accepted philosophy for the evolution of our universe is the Big Bang theory, which states
that the universe began as an incredibly hot and dense point roughly 13.7 billion years ago before
expanding into a large, unexplored cosmos; home to an unknown amount of planets and systems.
The universe is said to have begun with a cataclysm that generated space and time, as well as all of the
matter and energy that the universe will ever hold. For an incomprehensibly tiny fraction of a second,
the universe is theoretically an infinitely dense fireball. At 10 35 to 10 33 seconds, a runaway process
called inflation is said to have caused a vast expansion of space filled with energy. The inflationary
period is stopped only when this has converted into the matter and energy we know of today.
After inflation, one millionth of a second after the Big Bang, the universe supposedly continues to
expand, but not nearly as quickly. The most basic forces in nature become distinct: first gravity, then
the strong force of which holds atoms together, followed by electromagnetic forces. By the first
second, the universe is made up of fundamental particles and energy: from electrons, photons, to less
familiar types. These particles merge together to form protons and neutrons which will combine to
form the nuclei of simple elements such as hydrogen, helium and lithium.
The first major creation of the universe was radiation different wavelengths of light,

After the brief moment of sobriety in American history called prohibition, beer companies reached out
to MLB franchises asking to endorse their teams. Many of these brewing companies were regional.
The New York Mets, for example, went into an advertising partnership with the regional
Knickerbocker beer. The introduction of beer endorsements paved the way for advertisements in every
nook and cranny of the ballpark. During the prohibition era, MLB teams began to have their games
broadcasted over radio, but after the 21st amendment was created, baseball broadcasters began to have
their beer endorsements advertise on their broadcast. Furthermore, brewing companies used TV to
broadcast advertisements once baseball teams began a widespread use of it. Many brewing companies
even used former players to advertise. A Miller Lite commercial used retired players like Boog Powell
to advertise their brand. Thus, once prohibition was over brewing companies began an aggressive
advertising campaign across the MLB. In addition, some brewing companies cut out the middleman
and bought teams themselves. There is a long history of brewing company owned baseball teams. The
creator of the AA and owner of the St. Louis Browns, Chris Von Der Are, owned

Internment of Japanese Americans in World War II Essay
On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan attacked the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor,
bringing the United States into World War II (Prange et al., 1981: p.174). On February 19, 1942,
United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 authorizing the Secretary
of War and Military Commanders to prescribe areas of land as excludable military zones (Roosevelt,
1942). Effectively, this order sanctioned the identification, deportation, and internment of innocent
Japanese Americans in War Relocation Camps across the western half of the United States. During the
spring and summer of 1942, it is estimated that almost 120,000 Japanese Americans were relocated

officials eventually began to recruit these internees into the American army. Not only was WWII a war
about political alliances and geographical sovereignty, but it was also a war about race and racial
superiority throughout the world. Propagating this idea, Dower (1986) argues, World War Two
contributed immeasurably not only to a sharpened awareness of racism within the United States, but
also to more radical demands and militant tactics on the part of the victims of discrimination (War
Without Mercy: p.5). In elucidating the racial motivations and fallout from WWII, Dower helps one
realize the critical role that race and racial politics played during the war and are still at play in our
contemporary world. An analysis of this internment process reveals how the ultimate goal of the U.S.
internment of Japanese Americans and the United States subsequent occupation of Japan was to
essentially brainwash the Japanese race into demonstrating allegiance to America. Startled by the
surprise attack on their naval base at Pearl Harbor and anxious about a full fledged Japanese attack on
the United States West Coast, American government officials targeted all people of Japanese descent,
regardless of their citizenship status, occupation, or demonstrated loyalty to the US. As my
grandfather Frank Matsuura, a nisei born in Los Angeles, California and interned in the Granada War

Confession Session
Elie Wiesel is a young, teenage, Jewish boy involuntarily placed in Nazi concentration camps. The
concentration camps tested Elie s sincerity of his faith. All of the inhumane events, destruction, and
absent childhood, forced a method of non belief on Elie and his fellow beings. In Elie Wiesel s Night,
faith is seen as a controversial topic, and challenged throughout the beginning, middle, and end of the
story.
For the first time, I felt anger rising within me. Why should I sanctify His name. The Almighty, the
eternal and terrible Master of the universe, chose to be silent. What was there to thank him for?

The boy struggled due to the non strategically placed rope. This sight caused confusion and fear
among the prisoners. After Elie witnessed the awful hanging of his fellow peers, he lost all belief in
the god he once worshipped. And in spite of myself, a prayer formed inside me, a prayer to god in
whom I no longer believed. (Wiesel,67)
At this point in the story, Elie rarely showed the slightest glimpse or belief in a higher power. He
started to decline in hope and questioned every move of his father and all of the prisoners he gazed
upon. An example of this rare occasion is when they are running in chapter six and seven. Elie
witnessed a split of father and son without realizing that the son intentionally left his father in the dust.
He later met a Rabbi who lost his son while they were running. Rabbi Eliahou fathered the son that
Elie watched disappear into the group. Rabbi Eliahou did not realize that his son gave up on him and
continued on without him. Elie vowed that he would never leave his father in the way that Rabbi
Eliahou s son left him. Oh god, Master of the Universe, give me the strength never to do what Rabbi
Eliahou s son has done ( Wiesel,87 ). Elie did not realize that with that statement he planted a seed of
religion in his garden. It may seem acute but this monumental part caused the reaction of the

A Paper On The Genus Hominins Essay
This is going to be a paper on the genus Hominins. Hominins are early human ancestors the first being
Sahelanthropus Tchadensis and ends with Homo Sapiens. A specie is a group of similar animals, or
plants and in our case homo, paranthropus and australopithecus that can interbreed between each other
and have a direct connection in lineage.A genus is a grouping of alike and related species that all share
in many traits. It is an overview of species that are different enough to be put in one group but similar
to be put under an umbrella term. In this paper it will take about the later half of the hominin genus,
from Homo rudolfensis to Homo sapiens. We will be taking a look into how they are connected if they
are, why I did not connect others and the culture behind it all.
Homo rudolfensis was found in 1986 by V.P. Alexeev . 2.4 1.8 Million years ago. Rudolfensis maybe
one of the first Homo Species and can maybe be traced back to kenyanthropus platyops. Many
believed at first glance Homo erectus was close to Homo habilis because they shared many of the
same features, were found near each other and dated to around the same time to 2.4 to 1.8 million
years ago for habilis 2.3 to 1.5 million years ago for rudolfensis. Both are put under scrutiny because
many believe that due to the case of them having longer faces and bigger molars that they are from
Australopithecus and should be placed with them.Making them an australopithecus would mean that it

The Cultural Expectations And Rules
Norms
A norm is something that is standard in society. Within sociology, it is specifically the cultural
expectations and rules that a person within the culture is supposed to uphold. Norms tell an individual
how they should behave within a certain situation. According to Saul McLeod of Simply Psychology
(2008), people are expected to behave in a way that is not random. Norms are social standards that are
agreed upon by a society so that members of a culture do not deviate into areas that others would
consider abnormal and wrong. Also norms vary by culture, so one culture that has an agreed upon and
socially practiced norm may vary from another culture that does not do the same thing and instead has
different norms. Each culture s norms differ based on beliefs and customs.
Norms are a general category of social rules. Taboos, laws, mores, and folkways are all norms. A
taboo is something that a culture forbids. Laws are strictly enforced formal rules by the government or
social powers within a culture. A more is a norm related to morals; what is deemed right or not within
a particular society. Also folkways are customs that are socially accepted, but are not strictly enforced.
Following norms are important because an individual is only socially accepted if they follow the set
norms.

Consequently, low cost carriers (LCCs) recorded growth during the review period.
The growing popularity of LCCs has led many full service airlines to launch subsidiaries offering
flight options with limited services. For example, China Eastern Airlines announced the launch of
China United Airlines in July 2014 and in July 2013, Air Canada launched its LCC, Air Canada
Rogue.
The North American airline market recorded slow growth during the review period (2009−2013) in
comparison to the developing Asia Pacific and Latin American markets. According to the International
Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the region s air traffic increased at rate of 1.3% in 2012 and 2.1%
in 2013. Growth is expected to continue at a rate of 2.7% in 2014. The IATA expects the profit of
airlines in North America to increase from US$7.0 billion in 2013 to US$9.2 billion in 2014.
Boeing s Current Market Outlook 2014 report stated that North America holds a 27% share and Latin
America held a 33% share of the total seat capacity of LCCs in 2013.
One of the key reasons for high growth rate of LCCs in the Asia Pacific region is the emergence of a
rapidly expanding middle class population and greater levels of disposable income. Another factor is
the establishment of LCC subsidiaries by full service airlines.

demonstrates how an institution can enable a person s ability to make decisions upon themselves.
Overtime they believe this type of authority is needed to survive, as Dale Harding explains to a new

necessary requirement of their being is soley based on one powerful individual providing them with a
list of rules. By not believing in your individuality prevents someone from discovering their own true

The Risk and Benefits of Estrogen Hormone Therapy for...
There is a lack of collective focus regarding the recommendation of estrogen hormone therapy (ET)

to inform their clients experiencing menopause of the risks and benefits of hormone therapy use. In
the United States, breast cancer is the second leading cause of female death behind cardiovascular
disease and its etiology is recently becoming more fully defined (Eccles, 2013). Breast cancer is
exacerbated by the number of years clients use hormone therapy as well as each client s lifestyle

It is necessary to offer full disclosure to all clients if they continue combined hormone therapy,
especially when related to increased risk of breast cancer. Further clarification is essential regarding
the use of menopausal hormone therapy when teaching our clients. Primarily due to the fact that there
are misperceptions about the risks and benefits of hormonal therapy, APRNs carry the role of teaching
not only their own clients, but of teaching other nurses, new nurses, physicians and the public in
general. APRNs must weigh the risks alongside of the benefits when prescribing ET or EPT to any of
their clients having severe symptomology in order to promote short term medication for symptom
relief, but also, long term relief from the potential threat of breast cancer (NAMS, 2012). The focal
point of the standard of care is to manage menopausal symptoms, educate on possible potential risks
in the future, and advocate for patients based on the latest evidence based practice. The APRN wants
to continuously implement prevention by promoting mammograms, clinical breast exams, and breast
self awareness. Yearly breast checks by a primary care provider, promotion of appropriate vitamin and
mineral supplementation intake, low fat diet, and regular weight bearing exercise, are needed when the
client is prescribed hormone therapy (Beckmann, 2014). Cultural variables and individual health
considerations must be factored when promoting self care of

broke the elevator norm. Our setting took place at Miami Beach Community Health Center North
(Address: 11645 Biscayne Blvd, Miami, FL 33181) and the number of observers was about twenty.
The observers aged between 20 plus through 70 plus, we had observers from a pregnant woman to an
old man in a wheelchair, and from nurses to a security guard. Most of our spectators were women and
few were men, and race of the observers was among Hispanics and African Americans, if I m not
mistaken, I think there was an Indian/Bangladeshi woman. I think most of the observers are middle
class and most of the observers mood was nervous and quite because they were waiting for a checkup
or since it was a hospital. When my partner and I arrived at the health center, I was nervous since I
don t know how other people would react when I am facing them in the elevator. On the first try, I did
not say anything, nor I look at them because I got nervous. When the time arrived for actually
breaking the norm, I was scared since I don t know what the other person s reaction would be. As I am
facing the people on the elevator, I started to see the awkward look coming from the people and I was
feeling uncomfortable. There were some people who would just look at their phone or look the other
way as I make eye contact with them. The reason I felt uncomfortable because no one usually make

I Am Different From Those Who Surround Me Essay
I am different from those who surround me. I am a creature that cannot survive without drinking blood
and could live for many centuries. Many people call my species different names such as Aswangs (the
Philippines), Upyrs (Russia), Dakhanavars (Armenia), or how Americans call us Vampires. Our
appearances are not that different from humans. However, we have an accent that can be quite
distinguishable.
Us, vampires, used to speak a language known as Malencian. It is unlike any other language, but many
humans say it is like Russian but when we speak we emit an overwhelming voice that brings fear to
others hearts.
Unlike a few centuries before, humans no longer fear us since we no longer need to drink human
blood and now live shorter lives. We have evolved to drink animal blood. Human blood can make us
stronger and is much more delicious. Still, most vampires decide to drink animal blood so that they
can continue to coexist with humans.
In human society, they see us as monsters, and there are many countermeasures against us. It is very
hard for us to get a job since it is almost impossible to hide our accents. Although few humans are
kind to us, the majority still dislike us due to our dark history. Some even become vampire hunters,
that hunt vampires no matter if they are innocent or not. Thus, creating a major conflict between the
vampires and humans.

Live in Myths
This excerpt from Live in Myths, written by Ellen Goodman is a fabulous example of all the different
kinds of relationships and their participants who have an excellent sustainability to spend their lives
living their own myths. A very evident character that the author uses to bring out the true meaning of
this piece is her friend. Her friend is continuously apologizing for her husbands unapologetic behavior,
saying, He is not really like that, when he most definitely has been this way since the time they first
started dating. The woman uses the word cranky is order to describe her husband and his actions. But
the author uses more serious and much heavier words like, erratic outbursts of anger , which helps us

All these unanswered questions bring out a lot of possibilities because it is not everyday that we see
someone like the woman. It must be so difficult for her to be living with her myth as well as her man .
Here the author personifies her myth as if it is another person altogether with different personalities. In
this excerpt the myth is usually what the person actually wants. Therefore they believe the opposite
person is like that in order to save him or herself of getting disappointed over and over again. I know
of a couple where a woman believes that her husband never cheats on her. After finding text messages
and e mails from the other woman, she yet prefers to believe that her husband could never do such a
thing. She is yet living with the man, though the man has made it very clear that he is not in love with
her anymore and would want her to move out. But she refuses. She believes she could make him fall
in love with her all over again and then things would get better. It makes me sad every time my mother
and I go to meet her. Her hope for the future gives me the strength to endure all the difficulties in my
life the way she did. But at the same time it baffles me how she could be so blind to her husband s
character and yet believe that she could bring about a change in a man who doesn t even love her

but with my research that I did, I find out that For many centuries, French was the official language of
culture, and a knowledge acquired study, research, and learning. It was the language of diplomacy and

The bill itself seems harmless, but attorneys argued that the bill would make it difficult to challenge
the validity of foreclosure records when reports of improperly foreclosed homes were increasing. To
ensure that the unintended effects of the bill wouldn t harm consumers, President Obama vetoed it and
sent it back to Congress. This is where the system of checks and balances is used. When the president
disagrees with a legislation passed by Congress, he has the right to veto the bill as the executive
branches check and balance against the power of the legislative branch. President Obama s actions
showed how the executive branch can check the legislative branch by vetoing bills that could
potentially harm the public welfare of the nation.
Of course, Congress could have overturned President Obama s veto with a 2/3 vote in both houses.
While the executive branch can veto legislations passed by the legislative branch, the legislative
branch can also check the executive branch by overriding the presidential veto. Ambition must be
made to counteract ambition. The system of checks and balances is one branch counteracting the
influences of another, creating a stalemate as exemplified above. None of the three branches can exert
any source of power over the others without being counterbalanced by the powers of another branch.
For example, President Obama nominated Elena Kagan for the Supreme Court

Male Privilege Analysis
2. Privilege can mean different things depending on whom you ask. So, with its various associations,
should we be using the word privilege in feminist discussions of WGS? After careful consideration, I
would argue that, yes, it should. In fact, rather than a new word, we need further education about the
feminist definition of privilege.
In her piece White Privilege and Male Privilege Peggy, McIntosh defines white privilege as an
invisible package of unearned assets that I can count on cashing in each day, but about which I was
meant to remain oblivious...like an invisible weightless knapsack of special provisions . In using the
term privilege as WGS scholars define it, one then begins to realize and look for the invisible
instances of exercised privilege in one s own life. McIntosh does this in her article, metaphorically
unpacking the [invisible knapsack] ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is essential because it is through unpacking these individual acts and experiences that we can
begin to realize the larger institutionalized systems of power that are at play, a major advantage of the
word privilege and its meaning. For instance, McIntosh observes, I can, if I wish, arrange to be in the
company of people of my race most of the time. This specific realization then implies that there are
people who cannot make such arrangements, who do not have this specific unearned asset . In turn, we
can begin to see the inherent relationship between privilege and oppression, another advantage of the
term privilege and its meaning. Indeed, Launius and Hassel define privilege as benefits, advantages,
and power that accrue to members of a dominant group as a result of the oppression of the
marginalized group. If WGS scholars were to define privilege without acknowledging oppression,
they would be

Analysis Of The Book A History Of The World
Synthesis Essay In the book A History of the World in Six Glasses by Tom Standage it is explained
how the Mesopotamians saw beer and bread as a way to distinguish those who are civilized and those
who are savages. Standage explains how beer had a great role if the Mesopotamian culture and how in
many cases it was told in their stories and legends. The Egyptians were not far off the infatuation with
beer either. The Egyptians also cherished beer greatly and was a great deal of importance to them
especially because it was used as an offering to their gods. In both cases beer holds an important value
to both societies. Tom Standage explains the similarities between the Mesopotamian and Egyptian
views and values of beer, and how it affected their religion and culture. Tom Standage describes how
beer was greatly engraved in both Mesopotamian and Egyptian culture. Standage explains that in
Egyptian culture the phrases to make a beer hall and to sit in the beer hall were very popular
expressions that meant to have a good time It is explained how beer was a staple food which was
necessary in order to complete a beer. This especially came true with the Mesopotamians. The
expression pouring of beer meant the Mesopotamians were about to have a banquet or celebratory

Benefits Of Teaching Foreign Languages In Schools
The second reason that children should be taught foreign languages at a younger age is the academic
benefits while learning the language. Multiple researchers have studied the advantages that children
have if they have studied a language in the past. Almost all the findings have concluded that people
that learn a language at young do better academically. In Blue Linder s discussion on the importance
of teaching foreign language in schools, she states that Children gain a deeper understanding of
English as they learn the structure and vocabulary of other languages. This understanding translates
into more confidence in English and a greater command of the language. Furthermore, learning a
second language fosters a flexibility of thinking that translates into math, creativity, and problem
solving. Here Linder is talking about the fact that children who learn a second language can expand
their minds and the ways that they think. Seeing the differences in a language and how they connect to
their native language enables them to see different patterns and correlations. Children are then able to
apply this way of seeing connections to other areas of school. If all students were to learn languages in
their early school years, it is believed that schools would see a major increase in the academic success
of the students. This success would give students many opportunities they did not previously have.
Not only is it beneficial to learn a second language, it is even more rewarding

The Process Of Learning For Read Can Be Difficult For...
The process of learning to read can be difficult for young children. Teachers require knowledge and
understanding of the reading process as well as skills to teach children skills and strategies to become
a successful reader. Using a balanced approach to teaching children reading skills and strategies,
teachers start with explicit instruction before gradually giving students responsibility and
independence in using these strategies for reading. Teachers must understand the importance of oral
language, vocabulary, concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics and comprehension within the
reading process to ensure that children are well equipped with these elements prior to learning to read.
Knowledge and understanding of these concepts give teachers the skills to teach children to read.
One of the most language rich experiences young children have is through play. When children play
they are exploring their environment, using their imagination or imitating scenarios they may have
seen in playing shop, schools or mums and dads. These experiences provide children with engaging
opportunities for literacy development when exposed to language experiences that allow them to learn
new words, talk about what they can see with peers and adults, tell stories and ask questions. Konza
(2011), states early oral language and literacy experiences help them tune into the sounds of their
language and prepare them for learning to read. (p. 2) Play encourages children to experiment with

1 Eddrick Runnels6/7/2018Casey At The BatCasey At The Bat, written by Ernest Lawrence Thayer, is
a poem about a baseball player from Mudville who apparently played a great game of baseball. In this
essay, I will talk about baseball being the theme of the poem as well as the two key elements in which
the author also speaks about. Not only does he speak about Casey but he also speaks of his teammates,
Cooney, Burrows, Flynn, and Blake, as well as the crowd. At the beginning of the poem, the author
explains how it didn t appear as if Casey would get to bat because his teammate Cooney and Burrows
both had gotten out in the last inning with the score 2 to 4. He also had Flynn and Blake who would
come to bat before him but to the wonderment of it all, Flynn hit a single and Blake tore the cover off

How Did The Crusades Affect The World
The crusades were a series of wars mainly between the Christians and Muslims over the holy city of
Jerusalem. The Crusades lasted some 200 years. The two religions didn t see eye to eye, the Christians
saw the Islamic religion as a threat to Christianity. In the year 1095 Pope Urban II charged a crusade
against the muslims in Jerusalem. Many people went on a crusade for different reasons. Many were
strictly religious, while others were money related, some even went to avoid imprisonment. The
Crusades still impact the world we live in today. There are many lasting effects that the crusades had
on that part of the world and some even worldwide.
The crusades are important because they were the first time that peoples religion caused them to go to
war. People were brainwashed into thinking that what they were doing was God s will. People were
driven to do things that were one hundred percent contradictory to their religions teachings, the bible
says thou shall not kill . The holy city of Jerusalem is an important place for multiple religions. Two of
the larger ones are Christianity and Islam. These two have many things in common, their differences
are quite minimal compared to other religions. One Pope declared the crusade to regain the city for
Christianity, and it caused not only 200 years of blood battles and crimes, but issues still arise today. ...

Motif In Invisible Man
In Invisible Man, Ralph Ellison, demonstrates a common theme/motif of invisibility, to show the
conflicting role of African Americans in a white society, throughout his literature. In particular, it
starts off with an unnamed narrator battling with in internal conflict between his identity and what
others tell him what his identity should be, which causes doubt and even self contradictory. All my life
I had been looking for something, and everywhere I turned someone tried to tell me what it was. I
accepted their answers too, though they were often in contradiction and even self contradictory. I was
looking for myself and asking everyone except myself questions which I, and only I, could answer.
(Ellison 12) Many people can relate to this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before Ellison became a writer, he was studying symphonic and classical music in the hopes of
becoming a composer. Evidently, he tends to refer back to music and jazz styles in his writing.
According to Overview of Ralph (Waldo) Ellison, The novel is a fugue of cultural fragments echoes of
Homer, Joyce, Eliot, and Hemingway join forces with the sounds of spirituals, blues, jazz, and nursery
rhymes. Also, his use of syntax, a southern slang and simple sentences helps date and set the time and
place that the story takes place to help the readers better understand Ralph Ellison s purpose for
writing Invisible Man. Up to these here hard times I did very well, considering that i m a man whose
health is not too good. ( Ellison 300) Instead of saying something for instance, I did well considering i
m a man with bad health during these hard times, he structures his sentences in way that s easier to
understand. To tell a story, even educate others, about a message that could easily relate to present day
about the invisibility to certain individuals based on color. The time period that the author wrote
Invisible man was around 1952, a year after World War 2 ending. Pre civil rights era, it was still not a
good place for individuals who were of a darker complexion or different from others. This explains
the perspective and point of view that the narrator demonstrated in

and values in the following stories: The Moose and The Sparrow by Hugh Garner, The Yellow
Sweater by Hugh Garner, The Necklace by Guy de Maupassant, The Painted Door by Sinclair Ross,

If Mathilde Loisel chose to tell Mme. Forester that she lost the necklace in the first place, Mme. and
M. Loisel wouldn t have faced as many hardships to replace the necklace. This reflects back to
honesty being the best policy. In the story The Painted Door John chose to leave Ann at home with a
snow storm on its way so that he could walk five miles to his fathers house to make sure he would be
warm and to help with the chores. John knew that Ann would be lonely, so he also chose to walk an

  • 2. Plurality And Pluralism In Islam Based upon my further observation as a scholar and a Muslim, I find a lot of incompatibility about your interpretation of Islam with the Qur an. The Qur an implies that all religions shall be more emphasis on pluralism (diversity and tolerance), and I do believe in it. According to my understanding on pluralism in Islam, it emphasizes more to the religious tolerance, and does not view Islam as the only religion to be recognized in the world. Pluralism I meant here also can simply be recognized as a major foundation in maintaining the state and the society because basically people are diverse one another. As a true pluralism means acknowledging that all members of society have a right to be able to embrace the religion in which accordance with their beliefs and everyone is obliged to respect and honor them (as cited by Munawar, 32). O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female; and We have made you into tribes and subtribes that you may recognize one another. Verily, the most honourable among you, in the sight of Allah, is he who is the most righteous among you. Surely, Allah is All knowing, All Aware [49:14] . This verse explains that as human beings, we are not only taught to get to know each other, but also have to respect each other and receive a plurality of the society such as religion. Do not get me wrong. Once again, Pluralism I meant here is respect and tolerance between individuals in religions. We are all created differently, but is equal in the eyes of Allah; therefore, we should all be able to respect and tolerate all the differences that exist. In the Qur an itself, Allah also explained as the following verse: Say, O ye disbelievers! . I worship not that which you worship . Nor worship you what I worship . And I am not going to worship that which you worship . Nor will you worship what I worship . For you your religion, and for me my religion [109: ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Review Of Joyce Oates Where Are You Going, Where Have You... After reading Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? , I was quite disturbed as to why anybody would write a story about a young girl being stalked and possibly raped and murdered. I wondered what had happened in Joyce Oates life that had caused her to have the desire to use her literary skills to craft such a story. It seemed senseless to me until I read through the discussion prompt for this post and saw the link about Charles Schmid. After reading the article and doing some more research on Charles Schmid, I found that it is widely known that Oates wrote this short story as a response to reading a Time magazine article about him and the three young girls that he killed. It is also believed that the common issues that occur in the LTE network could be reduced drastically if attention if given to certain engineering practices. The research revealed and discussed some of those factors. Furthermore, to understand the concept of LTE optimization in the practical sense, a case study was done with drive test data collected on Nex tech wireless network and a detailed analysis was made and some issues were identified and rectified in the network. By and large, the findings from the research and the deductions from the case study only proved that there is a tremendous benefit in adopting a quality optimization strategy in any LTE network. More so, not only do the subscribers get great quality of service but the operators also make maximum financial gains. Introduction LTE network optimization remains an integral part of the LTE network. The main objective of optimizing the LTE network is to ensure that (Ue) has good service which translates to good user experience such as high data speed. The LTE optimization approach usually follows a process. Optimization engineers follow this process to find out where the problems in the network are as well as identifying what the problems are and then subsequently proposing ways to resolving them. • 9. How Social Reformers Influenced Edward Bellamy, Henry... How did social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceive of liberty and freedom differently than the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie? Which of these groups was successful in imposing their vision on the larger society in the years before the turn of the century? Why? Introduction Liberty and freedom was conceived differently by the social reformers and the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire. The difference actually emanated in the manner in which the two groups interpreted the suitability of the operation of the economy. While the economy can operate on the basis of capitalism where individualism and private property are the basis of creating wealth, it can also operate on the basis of collectivity, where communism and pooling of the labor and output together forms the basis of wealth accumulation for the society. In this respect, the social reformers such as Edward Bellamy, Henry George, and the Knights of Labor conceived the freedom and liberty to entail the rights of the laborers to earn better wages, work for a few hours and have a legal tender mechanism from the government that was not under the control of the banks . On the other hand, the proponents of the liberty of contract and laissez faire like Herbert Spencer and Andrew Carnegie conceived the liberty and freedom to entail individualism and private property ownership as the basis of ... I believe that women s opinions should be heard. Women s rights have been exploited by different groups for political gain and sometimes for the so called well being of the country in the last fifty years. Afghanistan has been stuck in a state of war for over three decades now. The different types of groups that have been coming into the country to fight have made a huge impact on the people of Afghanistan. This essay will state the type of struggles the Afghan women are facing on a daily base and are in fact enduring the pain silently. I believe that women should be treated more equally in education, society and workplace. Women are not treated the same as men in Afghanistan. The people in Afghanistan tend to believe that equality should not be given to women because women are only born to serve men and fulfil their wishes and commands. The disturbing fact is that not only men think this way but most women have the same thoughts too. Afghanistan is one of the most challenging places for women to live. Their lifestyle is enormously different from a female s lifestyle in Great Britain. Beginning from the time they are born to the end of their lifetime, they are facing troubles on a daily basis. • 13. What Is The Timeline Of The Big Bang Theory Timeline of The Big Bang The broadly accepted philosophy for the evolution of our universe is the Big Bang theory, which states that the universe began as an incredibly hot and dense point roughly 13.7 billion years ago before expanding into a large, unexplored cosmos; home to an unknown amount of planets and systems. The universe is said to have begun with a cataclysm that generated space and time, as well as all of the matter and energy that the universe will ever hold. For an incomprehensibly tiny fraction of a second, the universe is theoretically an infinitely dense fireball. At 10 35 to 10 33 seconds, a runaway process called inflation is said to have caused a vast expansion of space filled with energy. The inflationary period is stopped only when this has converted into the matter and energy we know of today. After inflation, one millionth of a second after the Big Bang, the universe supposedly continues to expand, but not nearly as quickly. The most basic forces in nature become distinct: first gravity, then the strong force of which holds atoms together, followed by electromagnetic forces. By the first second, the universe is made up of fundamental particles and energy: from electrons, photons, to less familiar types. These particles merge together to form protons and neutrons which will combine to form the nuclei of simple elements such as hydrogen, helium and lithium. After the brief moment of sobriety in American history called prohibition, beer companies reached out to MLB franchises asking to endorse their teams. Many of these brewing companies were regional. The New York Mets, for example, went into an advertising partnership with the regional Knickerbocker beer. The introduction of beer endorsements paved the way for advertisements in every nook and cranny of the ballpark. During the prohibition era, MLB teams began to have their games broadcasted over radio, but after the 21st amendment was created, baseball broadcasters began to have their beer endorsements advertise on their broadcast. Furthermore, brewing companies used TV to broadcast advertisements once baseball teams began a widespread use of it. Many brewing companies even used former players to advertise. A Miller Lite commercial used retired players like Boog Powell to advertise their brand. Thus, once prohibition was over brewing companies began an aggressive advertising campaign across the MLB. Internment of Japanese Americans in World War II Essay On December 7, 1941, the Empire of Japan attacked the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, bringing the United States into World War II (Prange et al., 1981: p.174). On February 19, 1942, United States President Franklin D. Roosevelt issued Executive Order 9066 authorizing the Secretary of War and Military Commanders to prescribe areas of land as excludable military zones (Roosevelt, 1942). Effectively, this order sanctioned the identification, deportation, and internment of innocent Japanese Americans in War Relocation Camps across the western half of the United States. During the spring and summer of 1942, it is estimated that almost 120,000 Japanese Americans were relocated from their homes along the West Coast and in Hawaii and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... officials eventually began to recruit these internees into the American army. Not only was WWII a war about political alliances and geographical sovereignty, but it was also a war about race and racial superiority throughout the world. Propagating this idea, Dower (1986) argues, World War Two contributed immeasurably not only to a sharpened awareness of racism within the United States, but also to more radical demands and militant tactics on the part of the victims of discrimination (War Without Mercy: p.5). In elucidating the racial motivations and fallout from WWII, Dower helps one realize the critical role that race and racial politics played during the war and are still at play in our contemporary world. An analysis of this internment process reveals how the ultimate goal of the U.S. internment of Japanese Americans and the United States subsequent occupation of Japan was to essentially brainwash the Japanese race into demonstrating allegiance to America. Startled by the surprise attack on their naval base at Pearl Harbor and anxious about a full fledged Japanese attack on the United States West Coast, American government officials targeted all people of Japanese descent, regardless of their citizenship status, occupation, or demonstrated loyalty to the US. The concentration camps tested Elie s sincerity of his faith. All of the inhumane events, destruction, and absent childhood, forced a method of non belief on Elie and his fellow beings. In Elie Wiesel s Night, faith is seen as a controversial topic, and challenged throughout the beginning, middle, and end of the story. For the first time, I felt anger rising within me. (Wiesel,67) At this point in the story, Elie rarely showed the slightest glimpse or belief in a higher power. He started to decline in hope and questioned every move of his father and all of the prisoners he gazed upon. An example of this rare occasion is when they are running in chapter six and seven. Elie witnessed a split of father and son without realizing that the son intentionally left his father in the dust. He later met a Rabbi who lost his son while they were running. Rabbi Eliahou fathered the son that Elie watched disappear into the group. Rabbi Eliahou did not realize that his son gave up on him and continued on without him. Elie vowed that he would never leave his father in the way that Rabbi Eliahou s son left him. Oh god, Master of the Universe, give me the strength never to do what Rabbi Eliahou s son has done ( Wiesel,87 ). A specie is a group of similar animals, or plants and in our case homo, paranthropus and australopithecus that can interbreed between each other and have a direct connection in lineage.A genus is a grouping of alike and related species that all share in many traits. It is an overview of species that are different enough to be put in one group but similar to be put under an umbrella term. In this paper it will take about the later half of the hominin genus, from Homo rudolfensis to Homo sapiens. We will be taking a look into how they are connected if they are, why I did not connect others and the culture behind it all. Homo rudolfensis was found in 1986 by V.P. Alexeev . 2.4 1.8 Million years ago. Rudolfensis maybe one of the first Homo Species and can maybe be traced back to kenyanthropus platyops. • 20. The Cultural Expectations And Rules Norms A norm is something that is standard in society. Within sociology, it is specifically the cultural expectations and rules that a person within the culture is supposed to uphold. Norms tell an individual how they should behave within a certain situation. According to Saul McLeod of Simply Psychology (2008), people are expected to behave in a way that is not random. Norms are social standards that are agreed upon by a society so that members of a culture do not deviate into areas that others would consider abnormal and wrong. Also norms vary by culture, so one culture that has an agreed upon and socially practiced norm may vary from another culture that does not do the same thing and instead has different norms. Each culture s norms differ based on beliefs and customs. Norms are a general category of social rules. Taboos, laws, mores, and folkways are all norms. A taboo is something that a culture forbids. Laws are strictly enforced formal rules by the government or social powers within a culture. A more is a norm related to morals; what is deemed right or not within a particular society. Also folkways are customs that are socially accepted, but are not strictly enforced. Following norms are important because an individual is only socially accepted if they follow the set norms. When the president disagrees with a legislation passed by Congress, he has the right to veto the bill as the executive branches check and balance against the power of the legislative branch. President Obama s actions showed how the executive branch can check the legislative branch by vetoing bills that could potentially harm the public welfare of the nation. Prior to Hesselsons s owning it, it had been a moving and storage company that went out of business in 92 so it sat vacant for a few years. • 36. Male Privilege Analysis 2. Privilege can mean different things depending on whom you ask. So, with its various associations, should we be using the word privilege in feminist discussions of WGS? After careful consideration, I would argue that, yes, it should. In fact, rather than a new word, we need further education about the feminist definition of privilege. In her piece White Privilege and Male Privilege Peggy, McIntosh defines white privilege as an invisible package of unearned assets that I can count on cashing in each day, but about which I was meant to remain oblivious...like an invisible weightless knapsack of special provisions . In using the term privilege as WGS scholars define it, one then begins to realize and look for the invisible instances of exercised privilege in one s own life. This is essential because it is through unpacking these individual acts and experiences that we can begin to realize the larger institutionalized systems of power that are at play, a major advantage of the word privilege and its meaning. For instance, McIntosh observes, I can, if I wish, arrange to be in the company of people of my race most of the time. This specific realization then implies that there are people who cannot make such arrangements, who do not have this specific unearned asset . In turn, we can begin to see the inherent relationship between privilege and oppression, another advantage of the term privilege and its meaning. Indeed, Launius and Hassel define privilege as benefits, advantages, and power that accrue to members of a dominant group as a result of the oppression of the marginalized group. • 41. Benefits Of Teaching Foreign Languages In Schools The second reason that children should be taught foreign languages at a younger age is the academic benefits while learning the language. Multiple researchers have studied the advantages that children have if they have studied a language in the past. Almost all the findings have concluded that people that learn a language at young do better academically. In Blue Linder s discussion on the importance of teaching foreign language in schools, she states that Children gain a deeper understanding of English as they learn the structure and vocabulary of other languages. This understanding translates into more confidence in English and a greater command of the language. Furthermore, learning a second language fosters a flexibility of thinking that translates into math, creativity, and problem solving. Here Linder is talking about the fact that children who learn a second language can expand their minds and the ways that they think. Seeing the differences in a language and how they connect to their native language enables them to see different patterns and correlations. Children are then able to apply this way of seeing connections to other areas of school. If all students were to learn languages in their early school years, it is believed that schools would see a major increase in the academic success of the students. This success would give students many opportunities they did not previously have. Not only is it beneficial to learn a second language, it is even more rewarding ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 42. The Process Of Learning For Read Can Be Difficult For... The process of learning to read can be difficult for young children. Teachers require knowledge and understanding of the reading process as well as skills to teach children skills and strategies to become a successful reader. Using a balanced approach to teaching children reading skills and strategies, teachers start with explicit instruction before gradually giving students responsibility and independence in using these strategies for reading. Teachers must understand the importance of oral language, vocabulary, concepts of print, phonemic awareness, phonics and comprehension within the reading process to ensure that children are well equipped with these elements prior to learning to read. Knowledge and understanding of these concepts give teachers the skills to teach children to read. One of the most language rich experiences young children have is through play. When children play they are exploring their environment, using their imagination or imitating scenarios they may have seen in playing shop, schools or mums and dads. These experiences provide children with engaging opportunities for literacy development when exposed to language experiences that allow them to learn new words, talk about what they can see with peers and adults, tell stories and ask questions. Konza (2011), states early oral language and literacy experiences help them tune into the sounds of their language and prepare them for learning to read.
