Jane is writing a research paper on food cultures around the world. As part of her research she is
testing various international recipes.
She wants to give her topic a really intriguing introduction because she loved her topic.
She would like for her readers to enjoy reading about her culinary adventures. For her introduction she
will engage the reader with questions.
A couple of these questions are, have you ever eaten food from another country? and how adventurous
is your palate?
The next part of her introduction will briefly mention some key details she will discuss. In this case, it
will be unique foods from three different countries.
The first food is blackeye pea fritters from the country of Cameroon. It uses common ingredients that

In order to elaborate on her topic of international foods, Jane is going to write about specific details of
her experience with these foods.
She spoke in detail about how making the blackeye pea fritters was easy and only required blackeye
peas, onion, and oil.
Injera bread was the opposite, literally taking two days to ferment the dough. Once the dough was
prepared, making the bread on a flat pan was simple.
Jane also elaborated on how many different flavors you can come up with by making homemade
curries using Indian spices.

I T Feasibility Study
The Feasibility Study
The Feasibility study is an analysis of possible alternative solutions to a problem and a
recommendation on the best alternative. It can decide whether a process be carried out by a new
system more efficiently than the existing one.
The feasibility study should examine three main areas; market issues, technical and organizational
requirements, financial overview. The results of this study are used to make a decision whether to
proceed with the project, or table it. If it indeed leads to a project being approved, it will before the
real work of the proposed project starts be used to ascertain the likelihood of the project s success.
• A feasibility study should provide management with enough information ... Show more content on

Examples of things to consider:
• Hardware/software selection
• How to convince management to develop the new system
• Selection among alternative financing arrangements (rent/lease/purchase)
Difficulties discovering and assessing benefits and costs; they can both be intangible, hidden and/or
hard to estimate, it s also hard to rank multi criteria alternatives
Examples of particular benefits: cost reductions, error reductions, increased flexibility of operation,
improved operation, better (e.g., more accurate) and more timely information.
Benefits may be classified into one of the following categories:
• Monetary : when $ values can be calculated e.g. Increased sales through increased production.
• Tangible (Quantified) : when benefits can be quantified, but $ values can t be calculated e.g.
cost/error reductions, increased throughput/efficiency, increased margin on sales, more effective use of
staff
• Intangible: when neither of the above applies, it is difficult to quantify, but maybe more important!
business analysts help estimate $ values. e.g., increased flexibility of operation, higher quality
products/services, better customer relations, improved staff morale.
The analyst report will also show how will the benefits accrue, when and over what timescale and how
to identify benefits. (Benefits are identified at organizational level (operational, lower/middle/higher
management) and by department

I Want To Join 2XU Essay
Brian,
I believe in being honest and forthright even when it is a tough conversation.
2XU is a small office and during the week, Chris Sinkovich had conversations that were sadly, were
easily over heard. I am aware you re considering a plan to terminate my employment with 2XU and
make other changes with the company structure.
You and I haven t had a chance to spend a great deal of time together thus far and allow us to fully
connect and see each s skills and experience which is a shame. I came to 2XU wanting to share the
marketing knowledge and work ethic I have and help drive the U.S. market for this company. During

have at a bigger company greater ownership to make an impact. I also believe in the strong growth
potential 2XU has in the U.S. market and I m excited to be a part of that.
I believed that 2XU was equally devoted to me being a long term part of the company, so I committed
to becoming part of the company.
Now that I m likely going to be terminated, I would like to have an open and honest conversation to
understand what is the basses for that. I would also like to know what level of severance I will receive.
Additionally, in my employment agreement, there was in inclusion of a 20% bonus based on meeting
performance goals. A formal review of my performance was never done with Anthony.
I understand in you re coming to 2XU that you see areas that you want make improvements. In our
various conversations, you and have agreed on many of those key areas and I thought we would have
been able to tackle them.
In regards to outstanding projects I ve been working on, many of these are with people I ve established

The War Of The Nineteenth Century
Tsar Alexander II was assassinated during the midst of a reformation movement in Russia toward the
end of the nineteenth century. At this time, the Russian lower class blamed Jews for their poor living
conditions. When Tsar Alexander III came into power he was paranoid of being a target of an
assassination. So he created a secret police to suppress civil and revolutionary outbreaks, and also
introduced anti Semitic legislations to satisfy the enraged lower class. Government officials managed
to use Jews as scapegoats, often saying that Jews exploited the population, especially the
impoverished classes. This anti Semitic movement led to unity in the lower class, and from this unity,
anti Semitic nationalism increased in late nineteenth century Russia.
During the end of the eighteenth century, there were approximately two million Jews scattered
throughout Europe. But, by 1914, the number of Jews in Europe had grown to over nine million. In
the nineteenth century, Jewish communities could be found in England, France, the Netherlands, Italy,
and other Western European countries, but the central Jewish population was located in the Russian
Empire with about five million Jews. This large Jewish Russian population was caused by a large
numbers of Jews emigrating from countries, like England, France, or Spain, which had created an
expulsion of Jews during medieval conflicts. These Jews migrated eastward and began to inhabit
Eastern Europe. Initially, Jews were welcome in Russian

Extinction Of The Houston Toad
The most effective way to prevent them from going through extinction is to restore and augment their
environment. One of the greatest causes for their endangerment is the shrinking of the Houston toad s
habitat, either through fires or urbanization. Their main home, Bastrop State Park, was devastated by
an immense fire, greatly decreasing their numbers. By fixing the burned forest, it gives the toad more
land to live which will leave them in a vulnerable status. In other words, the more the habitat there is,
the more Houston toads there will be. Many organizations such as the U.S Fish and Wildlife Services
and Houston zoo have joined the fight to help these creatures. To begin with, funding is necessary to
accomplish the revamping of the land.

The Existence Of Diabetes Mellitus
The existence of diabetes mellitus was first recognized by the ancient Egyptians and Greeks when
individuals showed signs of excessive urination, rapid weight loss, and sweet tasting urine. Diagnosis
was, therefore, made by designated water tasters, who drank the urine of potential diabetes patients
searching for a sweet taste. Because diabetes patients are drained of fluids, the Greek philosopher
Apollonius coined the term diabetes for the disease, which means to siphon or to pass through. The
name mellitus originated from Latin and was later added to the term diabetes. (9) For thousands of
years, little information was known about diabetes. The remedies used at the time were largely
ineffective, and many individuals died from diabetes after short life spans. In 1776, Matthew Dobson
discovered that the urine of diabetes patients contained increased concentrations of glucose. In 1797,
John Rollo recognized a link between diet and treatment of diabetes. In 1812, the disease was
clinically recognized in the New England Journal of Medicine and Surgery, and the first laboratory
tests were developed to measure the presence of sugar in urine. (9) During the following two hundred
years, the scientific community gained a greater understanding of diabetes and its pathology,
prevention, and treatment. In 1869, Paul Langerhans identified various types of pancreatic cells. In the
early 1900 s, a pancreatic substance was extracted and termed insulin. In the 1920 s,

Handicap Each to His Ability
Kurt Vonnegut paints a picture of American society 120 years past 1961. Society has made a gradual
change, but it is a drastic one nonetheless. After nearly two hundred amendments to the constitution,
everyone is supposed to be equal in every way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was
better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. (232 Vonnegut).
In this landscape Vonnegut shows that people will never be completely equal, and trying to force
equality through controlling individuals will only create a new class system. In the sixties, as today,
equality was a frequent topic of debate. The Civil Rights movement was rapidly gaining support, as
was equal pay for women, protections of voting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cunning part is how the mask naturally will cause unhandicapped people to either fear her or be
repulsed by her. In effect, dehumanizing the one being oppressed. Additionally, they show a ruthless
efficiency in enforcing the handicap laws. When Glampers kills Harrison and his ballerina, it is done
with cameras rolling. The television remains on until after the musicians resume wearing their
handicaps. Her message could not be more clear; the penalty for open defiance is death. Hazel and the
announcer represent the two classes who believe themselves to be benefiting from this quasi utopian
society. The announcer shows no apparent awareness of the burden forced equality has put on others.
Hazel, however, briefly does when she sees Harrison killed. Hazel s feelings ought to be a continued,
placid satisfaction that all is well. But deep within her the sympathetic individual cannot be stifled
(Mowery). Fortunately, for the H G men she is of average intelligence and quickly forgets. The
average intelligence class is aware, George shows this when he thinks to himself, [the ballerinas]

has stagnated, but he lacks the will to do anything about it. he has accept his handicaps, they are just a
part of him. Harrison is the opposite, maybe his youth is the reason, but he cannot withstand the
torture of being limited and vilified. He has a natural hunger to reach his full

The attack also made Sirius Star the largest craft ever to be hijacked. It is approximate that for the
pirates to reach Sirius Star, they must have voyaged south for four to five days. At the time of the

Problems Associated With The Researcher
concerns (Todres, 2007). Todres (2007) and McCormick (2010) suggest the researcher can remedy this
by staying in connection with his or her own felt sense . On the other hand, words can work between
the researcher and the participant in a shared way. Just as words are a bodily experience for the
participant, they are for the researcher as well. When words work for the participant, they also work
for the researcher not only in deepening the researcher s understanding, but in becoming aware of the
lived sense of his or her situation (Todres, 2007). In embodied inquiry, the researcher s task is to be
open to the process in him or herself in which the words do not just make logical sense, but which
open up the possibility of seeing something together (Todres, 2007, p. 39), a sense the researcher
understands in an embodied way. Embodied understanding does not mean that the researcher has the
same experience, but it means that the words show the researcher something more that involves a
bodily sense of being present to the whole situation (Todres, 2007, p. 39). Another dimension of inter
embodied understanding is that it seems to help the participant s ongoing ability to bring his or her
sense to language. New meanings can be experienced as making sense by the participant and the
researcher. There are possibly new meanings to be expressed from a situation and the process of sense
making allows these new meanings to appear. According to Todres (2007), languaging

Delaney In The Classroom
Throughout the course of the semester I had the chance to connect with Delaney in the CHAMP lab.
She is eight years old and she is also in third grade. Her favorite sports to do are gymnastics and
soccer. Her favorite movies are finding Nemo and finding Dori. Her favorite foods are pizza, carrots,
grapes, raspberries, l and chicken curry. Her favorite things to drink is milk, hot chocolate, orange,
grape, and apple juice. Her favorite thing to do outside in the wintertime is to go sledding with her
friends. Her least favorite things are spinach, onions, and spicy foods. Delaney was a great student to

When I had her throw to me she had her shoulders facing towards me in a vertical wind up. Then she
performed a contralateral and she had a limited spinal rotation. What she needs to work on for
overhand throwing to get into the mature stage is to stand sideways and practice the segmented
rotation then following through. What I would do to help her is I would put a resistance band with
handles on the goal post on the turf. then I would have her grab the handle and stand sideways. Then I
would have her step and rotate with the band in a throwing motion. This would help her get the
concept of the rotation part. Then I would give her a towel then I would have grab and folding chair. I
would have her non dominant leg sit on the chair and then she would have to snap the towel on the
ground to get the concept of the follow through. This would be the way how I would fix her overhand
throwing. What I could see Delaney in the future in sports is soccer and basketball. The way she can
dribble in kick and pass on the turf when we play soccer she shows signs that she has a lot of potential
of being a soccer player. I can also can see her playing basketball, even though I have never seen her
shoot a basketball, but guessing by how well she could dribble and slide and how good of a mover she
is I believe it could translate on the basketball

Question 4
Explain how both positive and negative attitudes toward a brand like Porsche develop. How might
Porsche change consumer attitudes toward the brand?
There s obviously the group of people that can afford a Porsche, and a group of people that can t
afford a Porsche, people can take a specific attitude towards Porsche that could be negative, because
they can t afford a Porsche. And these specific people can irritate themselves about the people that can
afford a Porsche, just to show off or use it as a reflection of their self image Porsche makes cars that
are obviously not for everyone, they are very expensive. Porsche focuses itself on a specific market.
Rich people. But, Porsche can change consumer attitudes towards the brand. In the 1970s came
Porsche 914, this car was a lot cheaper than the 911 and that meant that a Porsche could also be
affordable for a different class of people, what meant that their attitude towards the brand could
change. Porsche did a couple of years ago exactly the same. But then this affordable version was
called the cayman ( which cost 67.049), it was also a very nice sports car, but a little bit tinier, and less
faster than the 911(which cost 112.000) or the carrera (which cost 122.300) . But

because she was an American child. You see Jeng mei s mother did not take into consideration her
child being an American was probably not going to be as obedient as other Chinese girls were. Jeng
mei s mother reason for coming to America was to take advantage of all America had to offer but I
don t think Amy s mother realized that America gave her daughter her own mind. In conclusion we see
through the rest of the story that there was more conflict with the two. Jeng mei s mother buys a piano
for her daughter to learn how to play and become a prodigy at the piano. Mrs. Tan traded cleaning
house with Mr. Chong their deaf neighbor who used to teach music. Amy starts to slack because her
music teacher was deaf and not able to truly hear what Amy was playing. This was reflected in the
recital and utterly bombed in front her parent, family, and friends. Amy s mother was disappointed but
when Jeng mei felt that this would be her escape and her mother would not bother her about this
prodigy thing she was sadly mistaken Jeng mei s mother did not waver from this way of thinking. Jeng
mei then has a fit and becomes like a typical American child and becomes very disrespectful toward

However, a study of mortality trends in the NT found that life expectancy at birth among Indigenous
Australians in the NT has risen considerably between 1967 and 2006, increasing from 52.5 years for
males and 53.9 years for females to around 60.2 years for males and 69.8 years for females. Over the
same period, the gap between life expectancy for NT Indigenous females and NT non Indigenous
females narrowed due to a rapid improvement in the life expectancy of NT Indigenous females, while
the gap between NT Indigenous males and NT non Indigenous males widened due to the slow

Latin American Spanish And Peninsular Spanish
The difference between Latin American Spanish (LAS) and Peninsular Spanish (PS) is something that
is increasingly prominent in the global Hispanic society. These differences lie in the grammatical,
lexical and phonological features of the two variations of both the variant and the original form of the
language. Latin American Spanish, spoken in countries such as Mexico, Panama, Chile and Honduras
all adopted the Spanish language in the late 15th century and have since made Latin American Spanish
one of the most widely spoken variations of the Spanish language in the world. The difference of the
phonological features between Latin American Spanish and Peninsular Spanish is a prime example, as
the sounds of the vowels can differ depending on the form of the language that is being spoken.
Throughout the course of this investigation, the main distinctions between the two forms of the
language will be discussed in further detail, centring on the grammatical, lexical and phonological
features. It is also worth noting that in Spain there are four different co official languages within Spain
itself, these signifying the four different regions; Basque, Catalan, Galician and Basque . Therefore, it
is clear that even within Spain there is a variance in the form of the language.
Latin American Spanish and Peninsular Spanish are quite different, especially when we look closer at
some of the key features of the language s grammatical, lexical and phonological properties. It is not

An Interdisciplinary Degree With The Cognates Of...
I made a choice to pursue an interdisciplinary degree with the cognates of leadership and teaching. My
career choice is aimed at obtaining appropriate knowledge as a teacher and the desired skills in
leading people. However, while the cognate seems much different from what most people would
consider, being a professional teacher and a leader who gets in touch with young people, men, and
women are important in developing my Gospel ministry.
As a teacher who often interacts with students, some of whom have never had the opportunity to be

Secondly, my study leadership option gives me the advantage of leading all the people who I

The answer is simple: development of the ministry is based on meeting new people who might not
have heard the Gospel just like I meet several new souls almost every day, while grocery shopping.
Teaching skills that I acquire will enable me to minister the Gospel successfully. My interdisciplinary
degree is, therefore, important in developing my ministry. Leaders and leadership entail many
temptations. It is often believed that leaders are not holy and are far from practicing ethics in their
respective duties. Leadership is considered to be bound by corruption, but from a biblical perspective,
Deborah was a leader and a judge who was trusted. The Bible notes that Deborah carried out her
duties both as a prophet and judge. It is clearly indicated that she exercised complete religious and
political leadership while leading the people of Israel.
At the same time, Deborah also practiced judicial duties and militaristic leadership upon the
individuals she was in charge. Deborah became the most important person amongst the Israelites. She
became Israel s commander in chief. The Bible notes that she was said to issue to issue her judgments
and ruling under a palm in the hills of Ephraim.

Metaphors, Forms Of Human Communication And Erapeutic Uses
Metaphors, forms of symbolic language, have been used as teaching and healing tools in stories for
centuries, cite Mills and Crowley (2014). PTUK course book (2017) also cites that research by Levin
and Modell has proven that more brain cells light up in response to metaphor than any other form of
human communication forming new neural pathways. In this essay I will be looking at the theory
behind using a therapeutic story and relating it to my process of using one with my client. Sunderland
(2000) states that stories can be an important part of therapeutic tool kit, as a vehicle, through which a
child can process troubled feelings. Sunderland (2000) adds that children can often find it difficult to
put their feelings into words, as their natural communication method is through images and
metaphors. A therapeutic story can express those feelings in child s language and help the child to
build trust that her feelings are understood, which then will help the child to share her own feelings.
Sunderland (2002) also advises that there are four ways a therapeutic story can work; It can present
the child options that she can use when coming across an obstacle, it can present new ways and
solutions of dealing with problems that might have felt unsolvable, it can show ways of coping with
emotional problems, and it can provide options for new ways of being. Ericson (1991) cites that the
therapist should encourage learning through experience, as this is more beneficial than learning

Galls are important because they reflect the condition of plant health and abundance in a specific
ecosystem. Gall inducing species are excellent models for ecological studies due to their abundance,

allow species diversity comparisons among different habitats (Fernandes, 1988). Gall inducers and
galls are part of multi trophic level ladders that include plants, insects, birds, and other animals. They
are a demonstration of co adaptation and evolution between commensal participants the gall inducer,
the gall, other gall occupants and the plant. Galls are found globally there are 14,700 species
documented. (Mani, 1962). Humans also have commercial uses for galls. They have been used to
manufacture ink, and they have tannins for dying wool and skins. They have astringent properties, and
can be used in medicine. A few have served as food, and some as lamp fuel. (Felt, 1917).

As, stated before, galls are nonmoving, so they are easier to inventory than a moving insect. Gall

animals appear in the gall community, with many different means of coexisting they may be parasites

Growing Up In Poverty In The United States
Poverty is the condition of being without adequate food or money. American Psychological
Association (MLA): Poverty is not having enough money to have the basic necessities in life. It is an
issue within the United States and the world. There are many children that grow up in poverty and the
effects can last throughout the life. When growing up in poverty there can be high risk of teen
pregnancy, poor heath, crime, Drug use and a lack of education. (Boyden)
Poverty and poor health worldwide are inseparably related. Poor health is a direct effect of growing up
in poverty; as children living in low economic families may not have access to adequate medical
health coverage. Which means the child will not have proper immunization and checkup that they
need to ensure good health. Studies show when a child grows up in poverty the child can be
underweight (Boyden). Poor under lined illness may also lead to issues throughout a lifespan. Poverty
increases neglect of health issues. That causes more health problems which ends in death. Statistics
also show that living in poor rule areas, with low quality schools. Even if the parents are highly

People who live in low economic and rule areas with less social standings are those who are
considered to be in poverty. Someone who is suffering from poverty may have to live in cramped,

areas are more likely to have unstable family life, broken relationships, with less involvement in their
community, and low aspirations with alcoholism and drug addiction. We assume poverty is unlikely
the cause of high crime in rule areas and for drug and alcohol addiction. But studies show people that

As part of the Education Amendments of 1972, Title lX states that, No person in the United States
shall, on the basis of sex, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of, or be subjected
to discrimination under any education program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance. This
act has been one the most controversial and most scrutinized amendments to be passed in years and it
has never been re evaluated. It has done a lot during its years by increasing womens sports at all levels

If say you have a division 3 school, with 5500 students, 3000 men and 2500 women. The idea that the
school is going to be able to have at least 75% of those students show or give interest towards a
certain sport or a certain inter mural game, is very hard to actually accomplish. The idea that also, the
underrepresented gender must have the ability to play the game is also very difficult to judge. I guess
if a team can not win a game all season but has double the amount of interest than spots available on
the team, maybe that would or would not require equal funding. I think this prong test of compliance
needs to be re evaluated. Another issue that I think needs to be taken into effect is football. There is no
sport or club, male or female, that can equal the same amount of funding needed for a football team
and even created by a football team. Some smaller division 2 and 3 schools will even have a JV and
Freshman football team along with their traveling varsity program. The amount of money that division
1 football programs bring in for the school is amazing. Just the amount of men that it takes to fill up a
football roster will keep prong 2 alive. As long as there is a big football program, women will need to
have continual expansion of sports, or the teams already in place, which will in turn, have the loss of
smaller, not as popular, men s sports being dropped. There has been over 300 men s

Analysis Of The Celebrated Jumping Frog From Calaveras County
Is Mark Twain trying to be funny by the contrasting cultures or is there something deeper? Samuel
Langhorne Clemens, a famous author and publisher who is mostly known by his pen name of Mark
Twain. He was born in Florida, Missouri in November of 1835 to parents Jane and John Clemens. His
father died when he was 13 and Samuel left school and became a printer s apprentice and throughout
the next several years moved up to become an editorial assistant. In 1858 he became a river pilot
which is where he got his name of Mark Twain meaning safe to navigate. In 1865, Twain was first
published in the New York Saturday Press for his writing of The Celebrated Jumping Frog from
Calaveras County . This short story made him well known and was the first of many writings to lead
the way for him to become known as America s famous literary writer. Mark Twain was married, had
four children and passed away on April 21, 1910. His short story, The Celebrated Jumping Frog from
Calaveras County shows Twains ability to tell two stories in one. What starts as a story of an innocent
search for a friend and later graduates into a frog race full of satire. Mark Twain in The Celebrated
Jumping Frog from Calaveras County shows cultural clash by using diction, irony, deception and
contrast between the cultures.

How Do Political And Social Standards Influence US...
2. It is very difficult for political and social goals to not influence US accounting standard setting.
According to Solomons (1978, p. 65) quoting Charles Horngren, the setting of accounting standards is
as much a product of political action as of flawless logic or empirical findings. Why? Because the
setting of standards is a social decision. Standards place restrictions on behavior; therefore, they must
be accepted by the affected parties...getting acceptance is an exceedingly complicated process that
requires skillful marketing in a political arena. When a person or group of people see an issue that they
feel needs to be addressed, they are going to want it handled in the way most desirable to them and

Why Is Tap Water Better Than Bottled Water
You never know the worth of water until the well runs dry (Sky drop). Many people tell themselves
this when they leave their water unattended. Tap water contributes to our daily life in vary ways. Tap
water is better than bottled water because it s safer, cheaper, and versatile to the people. First off, tap
water is safer than bottled water by any mean. According to The Truth About Tap by Andrew Postman.
Postman states, Tap water in big cities must be disinfected, filtered, and removed of pathogens ...

Today, this is done without too much stress and strain on either side; usually this takes place in
meeting rooms in a very civilized manner with management, employees, and union negotiators. Deals
and concessions are made on both sides and once the final contract is agreed on, business continues
on. By paying dues and certifying affiliations, union employees gain the power in numbers needed to
ensure a better quality of life for themselves and their families. In most cases relationships between
management and employees continue on with mutual respect, and the business continues to make a
profit. It wasn t always this easy. In the beginning, the union was initially considered a dangerous
criminal act against businesses and instead of deals and concession the negotiations consisted of
murders and vandalism. In an early colonial America, as society wrestled with massive economic and
social changes, labor problems arose. Low wages, long hours, as in dangerous work, and abusive
supervisory practices led to high employee turnover. This resulted in violent strikes and threats of
social instability. John R. Commons founded and created the first academic industrial relations
program at the University of Wisconsin in 1920. He received financial support from John D.

Tacitus On The Germans Summary
Tacitus in his writing characterizes the Germanics as a stable, civilized community as well as a
barbaric tribe, compared to Marcellinus who viewed them as savages when Priscus had a first hand
account of the Germanics and thought of them as very well mannered people. Tacitus writes about
how the Germanics are civilized, yet barbaric by stating that no other nation compares to the
Germanics in entertainment and hospitality as well as writing how their children are naked and filthy
(Tacitus). Tacitus, being alive in the reign of the five good emperors writes truths about the
Germanics, but he is not in the time period when the Germanics are wreaking havoc on the empire.

On the other hand Marcellinus sees the Germanics as barbaric and abnormally savage while also
writing how they are inflicting tremendous slaughter (Marcellinus). Marcellinus was writing in the
fourth century when the Germanics were attacking, so he did not base his writings off pure facts.
Instead he used stereotyping and appealed to the people s point of view of how the Germanics looked
and acted. Marcellinus writes about the Germanics as barbarians and describes them as crazed foolish
men. By doing so he forces fear upon the empire. Priscus writes about the hospitality of the
Germanics, and how they gave him a luxurious meal not only does he say their hospitality his superb
but he talks about their clothing and how it is only to be clean (Priscus). Priscus was an ambassador of
the Roman Empire and Attila treats him with respect in order to have favorable recognition by the
Emperor. In order to do so he conveys an exceedingly ceremonial dinner for the ambassador, and

It Bears No Doubt That Coates Isn t Not So Much With The...
It bears no doubt that Coates builds quite a cumulative, comprehensive and legible claim, as to the
reparations due to the minority community that befell a multitude of misery at the hands of white folk.
However, the problem that I wish to bring to light, lies not so much with the point(s) brought forth, but
rather with the issue of the practicality and feasibility of the implementation of reparations. Moreover,
I would also like to dwell with the future repercussions of going forth with such an idea. Even so, I
wish to provide for a framework under which such circumstances, though not justifiable, can easily be
explained, as far as their occurrence and the remnants of which occur in today s society (is in
concern.)
First and foremost, Coates in his article barely touches upon ways of going about said reparations.
Although he does state or at least imply that the primary point (or aim) of his article, is to enumerate
the list of injustices faced by the blacks at the hands of the white populace, and not to advocate any
particular means of reparations; such an article without any means or ways of ensuing actions to
resolve, defeats the purpose of presenting one in the first place. This he further concedes by hinting at
the fact that teams of scholars, such as the HR 40, after heated debates and discussions, might find that
America may never be able to repay the African American Community. The idea of reparations is
frightening not simply because we might lack the ability to

A Raisin In The Sun Assimilation Essay
Assimilation or the refusal to assimilate was and has been present throughout the United States and
examples of such can be seen in plays like, Los Vendidos and A Raisin In The Sun . Assimilation is
defined by dictionary.com as: the process of adapting or adjusting to the culture of a group or nation.
Lorraine Hansberry was against assimilation and instead wanted to introduce integration, being a part
of the routines and traditions, but maintaining heritage, by writing A Raisin in the Sun , she wanted to
show her stance for the African Americans to take pride in their heritage and to not assimilate to all the
views of white Americans. Los Vendidos tries to portray a similar theme by using satirical humor and
symbolism. Every country faces the issue of assimilating new people into new places, but many think
only immigrants have this issue. However, many who have already migrated into society are deeply
rooted in their heritage have the same issue because they want to hold on to the traditions that give
respect to their ancestors. The line between assimilation and integration is and was a huge debate
especially during the time A Raisin in the Sun was written, 1950s, and as each decade passes ... Show

The Pearl By John Steinbeck
The Pearl A pearl...is it worth $1,000, $100,000, or the risk of the death of your valuable family s
lives? John Steinbeck answers this question with the novella, The Pearl. Kino was an impecunious
man. He lived with his wife Juana, and his very young son Coyotito. Together, they lived buoyantly as
a family. One day, he uncovered a small yet bijou pearl that affected the whole family and even the
entire town! Will the pearl eventually bring wealth and happiness to his family, or will it make the
family feel miserable and targeted?
In the beginning of the novella, the only people that were of importance to Kino were his precious
family. Sometimes it rose to an aching chord that caught the throat, saying This is safety, this is
warmth, this is the Whole. (Steinbeck 3) He listened to the Family Song throughout the novella. With
his family he felt secure,, cared for them very deeply, and made an effort to do everything he possibly
could to please them. He was compassionate about his boat. He touched the boat tenderly as he always
did. (Steinbeck pg.15) Juana, Coyotito, and Kino were all able to be fed with the help of his boat. The
boat assisted him to overlook daily struggles. He was content in life with the things that he had. He did
not need anything else, because he had his family and his special boat.
After Kino discovered the pearl, the things that were of importance to him changed to wealth and
Coyotito s education. The author brought out, After all, 1,000

Going Through Changes Analysis
Music has been an important part of my life. Music has been my best friend in ups and downs of my
life and to get me where I am currently in life. Music has helped me control my anger issues. One
song, which has helped me stabilize is Marshall Mather s aka Eminem s Going through changes which
was released in June 2010. That song is important to me, because I would listen to that song whether I
would be angry or content.
Back in the day, when I was in elementary school, I would see myself as little chubby rage monster. I

  • 3. I T Feasibility Study The Feasibility Study The Feasibility study is an analysis of possible alternative solutions to a problem and a recommendation on the best alternative. It can decide whether a process be carried out by a new system more efficiently than the existing one. The feasibility study should examine three main areas; market issues, technical and organizational requirements, financial overview. The results of this study are used to make a decision whether to proceed with the project, or table it. • 5. The War Of The Nineteenth Century Tsar Alexander II was assassinated during the midst of a reformation movement in Russia toward the end of the nineteenth century. At this time, the Russian lower class blamed Jews for their poor living conditions. When Tsar Alexander III came into power he was paranoid of being a target of an assassination. So he created a secret police to suppress civil and revolutionary outbreaks, and also introduced anti Semitic legislations to satisfy the enraged lower class. Government officials managed to use Jews as scapegoats, often saying that Jews exploited the population, especially the impoverished classes. This anti Semitic movement led to unity in the lower class, and from this unity, anti Semitic nationalism increased in late nineteenth century Russia. During the end of the eighteenth century, there were approximately two million Jews scattered throughout Europe. But, by 1914, the number of Jews in Europe had grown to over nine million. In the nineteenth century, Jewish communities could be found in England, France, the Netherlands, Italy, and other Western European countries, but the central Jewish population was located in the Russian Empire with about five million Jews. This large Jewish Russian population was caused by a large numbers of Jews emigrating from countries, like England, France, or Spain, which had created an expulsion of Jews during medieval conflicts. These Jews migrated eastward and began to inhabit Eastern Europe. Initially, Jews were welcome in Russian ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Extinction Of The Houston Toad The most effective way to prevent them from going through extinction is to restore and augment their environment. One of the greatest causes for their endangerment is the shrinking of the Houston toad s habitat, either through fires or urbanization. Their main home, Bastrop State Park, was devastated by an immense fire, greatly decreasing their numbers. By fixing the burned forest, it gives the toad more land to live which will leave them in a vulnerable status. In other words, the more the habitat there is, the more Houston toads there will be. Many organizations such as the U.S Fish and Wildlife Services and Houston zoo have joined the fight to help these creatures. To begin with, funding is necessary to accomplish the revamping of the land. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. The Existence Of Diabetes Mellitus The existence of diabetes mellitus was first recognized by the ancient Egyptians and Greeks when individuals showed signs of excessive urination, rapid weight loss, and sweet tasting urine. Diagnosis was, therefore, made by designated water tasters, who drank the urine of potential diabetes patients searching for a sweet taste. Because diabetes patients are drained of fluids, the Greek philosopher Apollonius coined the term diabetes for the disease, which means to siphon or to pass through. The name mellitus originated from Latin and was later added to the term diabetes. (9) For thousands of years, little information was known about diabetes. The remedies used at the time were largely ineffective, and many individuals died from diabetes after short life spans. In 1776, Matthew Dobson discovered that the urine of diabetes patients contained increased concentrations of glucose. In 1797, John Rollo recognized a link between diet and treatment of diabetes. In 1812, the disease was clinically recognized in the New England Journal of Medicine and Surgery, and the first laboratory tests were developed to measure the presence of sugar in urine. (9) During the following two hundred years, the scientific community gained a greater understanding of diabetes and its pathology, prevention, and treatment. In 1869, Paul Langerhans identified various types of pancreatic cells. In the early 1900 s, a pancreatic substance was extracted and termed insulin. In the 1920 s, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 9. Handicap Each to His Ability Kurt Vonnegut paints a picture of American society 120 years past 1961. Society has made a gradual change, but it is a drastic one nonetheless. After nearly two hundred amendments to the constitution, everyone is supposed to be equal in every way. Nobody was smarter than anybody else. Nobody was better looking than anybody else. Nobody was stronger or quicker than anybody else. (232 Vonnegut). In this landscape Vonnegut shows that people will never be completely equal, and trying to force equality through controlling individuals will only create a new class system. In the sixties, as today, equality was a frequent topic of debate. The Civil Rights movement was rapidly gaining support, as was equal pay for women, protections of voting ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cunning part is how the mask naturally will cause unhandicapped people to either fear her or be repulsed by her. In effect, dehumanizing the one being oppressed. Additionally, they show a ruthless efficiency in enforcing the handicap laws. When Glampers kills Harrison and his ballerina, it is done with cameras rolling. The television remains on until after the musicians resume wearing their handicaps. Her message could not be more clear; the penalty for open defiance is death. Hazel and the announcer represent the two classes who believe themselves to be benefiting from this quasi utopian society. • 11. Problems Associated With The Researcher concerns (Todres, 2007). Todres (2007) and McCormick (2010) suggest the researcher can remedy this by staying in connection with his or her own felt sense . On the other hand, words can work between the researcher and the participant in a shared way. Just as words are a bodily experience for the participant, they are for the researcher as well. When words work for the participant, they also work for the researcher not only in deepening the researcher s understanding, but in becoming aware of the lived sense of his or her situation (Todres, 2007). In embodied inquiry, the researcher s task is to be open to the process in him or herself in which the words do not just make logical sense, but which open up the possibility of seeing something together (Todres, 2007, p. 39), a sense the researcher understands in an embodied way. Embodied understanding does not mean that the researcher has the same experience, but it means that the words show the researcher something more that involves a bodily sense of being present to the whole situation (Todres, 2007, p. 39). Another dimension of inter embodied understanding is that it seems to help the participant s ongoing ability to bring his or her sense to language. New meanings can be experienced as making sense by the participant and the researcher. There are possibly new meanings to be expressed from a situation and the process of sense making allows these new meanings to appear. According to Todres (2007), languaging ... Latin American Spanish And Peninsular Spanish The difference between Latin American Spanish (LAS) and Peninsular Spanish (PS) is something that is increasingly prominent in the global Hispanic society. These differences lie in the grammatical, lexical and phonological features of the two variations of both the variant and the original form of the language. Latin American Spanish, spoken in countries such as Mexico, Panama, Chile and Honduras all adopted the Spanish language in the late 15th century and have since made Latin American Spanish one of the most widely spoken variations of the Spanish language in the world. The difference of the phonological features between Latin American Spanish and Peninsular Spanish is a prime example, as the sounds of the vowels can differ depending on the form of the language that is being spoken. Throughout the course of this investigation, the main distinctions between the two forms of the language will be discussed in further detail, centring on the grammatical, lexical and phonological features. It is also worth noting that in Spain there are four different co official languages within Spain itself, these signifying the four different regions; Basque, Catalan, Galician and Basque . In this essay I will be looking at the theory behind using a therapeutic story and relating it to my process of using one with my client. Sunderland (2000) states that stories can be an important part of therapeutic tool kit, as a vehicle, through which a child can process troubled feelings. Sunderland (2000) adds that children can often find it difficult to put their feelings into words, as their natural communication method is through images and metaphors. A therapeutic story can express those feelings in child s language and help the child to build trust that her feelings are understood, which then will help the child to share her own feelings. Sunderland (2002) also advises that there are four ways a therapeutic story can work; It can present the child options that she can use when coming across an obstacle, it can present new ways and solutions of dealing with problems that might have felt unsolvable, it can show ways of coping with emotional problems, and it can provide options for new ways of being. • 33. It Bears No Doubt That Coates Isn t Not So Much With The... It bears no doubt that Coates builds quite a cumulative, comprehensive and legible claim, as to the reparations due to the minority community that befell a multitude of misery at the hands of white folk. However, the problem that I wish to bring to light, lies not so much with the point(s) brought forth, but rather with the issue of the practicality and feasibility of the implementation of reparations. Moreover, I would also like to dwell with the future repercussions of going forth with such an idea. Even so, I wish to provide for a framework under which such circumstances, though not justifiable, can easily be explained, as far as their occurrence and the remnants of which occur in today s society (is in concern.) First and foremost, Coates in his article barely touches upon ways of going about said reparations. Although he does state or at least imply that the primary point (or aim) of his article, is to enumerate the list of injustices faced by the blacks at the hands of the white populace, and not to advocate any particular means of reparations; such an article without any means or ways of ensuing actions to resolve, defeats the purpose of presenting one in the first place. This he further concedes by hinting at the fact that teams of scholars, such as the HR 40, after heated debates and discussions, might find that America may never be able to repay the African American Community. The idea of reparations is frightening not simply because we might lack the ability to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

John Steinbeck answers this question with the novella, The Pearl. Kino was an impecunious man. He lived with his wife Juana, and his very young son Coyotito. Together, they lived buoyantly as a family. One day, he uncovered a small yet bijou pearl that affected the whole family and even the entire town! Will the pearl eventually bring wealth and happiness to his family, or will it make the family feel miserable and targeted? In the beginning of the novella, the only people that were of importance to Kino were his precious family. Sometimes it rose to an aching chord that caught the throat, saying This is safety, this is warmth, this is the Whole. (Steinbeck 3) He listened to the Family Song throughout the novella. With his family he felt secure,, cared for them very deeply, and made an effort to do everything he possibly could to please them. He was compassionate about his boat. He touched the boat tenderly as he always did. (Steinbeck pg.15) Juana, Coyotito, and Kino were all able to be fed with the help of his boat. The boat assisted him to overlook daily struggles. He was content in life with the things that he had. He did not need anything else, because he had his family and his special boat.
