Form Of Land Constraliation In The Australian Common Law...
Under the Australian common law system, the form of land ownership adopted is that only the Crown
can own land. A person living on the land can only an estate of the land. This means that a person
could never fully own land. Only the Crown has full ownership of land. This form of ownership is
known as the doctrine of estates. The Crown having full ownership means that land without an owner
did not exist. The first form of land ownership used in Australia was the doctrine of tenure. Which
originated from English common law, upon the British settlement.
The feudal system adopted in England at medieval times provided a system that was economic and it
provided a geographic map for the people living in the country. The purpose of the feudal system was
to give power to the Crown, who owned all the land. In return, the Crown decided how they would
grant land. The doctrine of tenure was implemented in Australia was not suited to the structure of the
country. There was no need to adopt the English version of tenure. The structure of Australia provided
a great opportunity to create a new kind of tenure that was unique to Australia. The reason for not
creating a new version of tenure was due to the settlers already having precedents they needed to
follow.
The doctrine of tenure originates from English common law. It forms the structure of Land Law in
Australia. There were different types of tenure in the English system. The form of tenure used in
Australia was free and common

Advantages And Disadvantages Of E-Payment In Nigeria
E PAYMENT; CHALLENGES AND EXPECTATIONS IN NIGERIA PUBLIC SECTOR
INTRODUTION
Trade generally involves the exchange of goods and services for corresponding abstract value like
money. [1] Money is been used as an abstract way to represent value and a system for making
payments. Development brought about new abstract ways to represent value, [2] this progressive trend
started from the barter through bank notes, payment order, cheques and later on credit cards which
climaxed to the electronic payment system. A payment system is one used for the transfer of money.
The emergence of computers and information systems brought about other alternate electronic
payment systems such as debit cards, credit cards, Internet banking and e commerce payments. ...

The Human Dimensions Of Natural Resource Management
The human dimensions of natural resource management are very important to the successful
management of any natural resource. In order for any natural resource to be successfully managed
their must be ample funding and public support and interest; two key aspects that are often not
throughly considered but are vital to the success of good resource management. These two aspects
also go hand in hand, for example, if the public is connected and involved with there natural resources
they will be more likely to support them and work to protect them. If the public is not involved or not
informed on there natural resources they will likely take them for granted and have little to no interest
on their management. I see this happen very often in state parks on holidays, people from the city
come into the park and leave trash everywhere because they only go there a few times a year and don t
understand the ecological consequences of this behavior because they are not there often enough to
understand. Integrating human dimensions into natural resource management means to carefully
consider and include the publics beliefs and values while managing any public natural resource
(Jacobson and McDuff 265). The human dimensions aspect of natural resource management is
complex and involves many different aspects that all play a vital role in the publics interest and
contribution to natural resources. As demonstrated in Integrating Social Science into the Long Term

Summary Of Steven Dunber s Freakomoics
Freakomoics and Identity
The book, Freakomonics A Rogue Economist Explores The Hidden Side of Everything is the
storytelling of Crime, numbers and people. Steven D. Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner speak the numbers
of economics in stories of real people living under their real circumstances. Since 1997, Levitt is a
Professor of Economics at the University of Chicago who is recognized by Time Magazine as one of
the top 100 People Who Shape Our World. Dunber is an author of award winning books and a radio

The accuracy of the data seems sound and reliable, some questions emerged. The data used in the

Socialization Process In Society
The socialization process can be described as the process one undergoes to learn the acceptable way to
behave in society. From a young age, people are taught how to behave, what to think, and how to look.
These variables create rules or norms in society today. Examples of a social norm would be gender
rules today. Zimbardo used the example of a man being interested in ballet being seen as unusual and
being criticized because of his interests (Zimbardo 144). This is a perfect example of socialization
because in society we are groomed to believe that ballet is girly or feminine. While there is nothing
about dance itself that is feminine, humanity has created an association with ballet and females. This
association is a behavior that is learned during the socialization process. Another example of the
socialization process common in today s society would be the gender rule that women are to be
submissive in the relationship. Traditionally women stay home, take care of the kids, and cook meals.
While none of these acts in them self are submissive an association with these acts and submission
from a wife to a husband has formed. This was a perfect example of the socialization process for
young girls growing up with the goal to have a family, a husband, and kids, only to perform wifely
duties as the perfect life. This socialization though has now been broken with more women going into
the workforce and some becoming the breadwinner of the family. Fathers staying home

The Causes Of Valley Forge
Imagine living under brutal conditions in a rundown, secluded fort, far away from home and knowing
that you could die at any minute. What would you do? During the winter of 1777 to 1778, George
Washington s Continental Army set up their post at Valley Forge, a military camp 18 miles northwest
of Philadelphia. It was not big enough to be called a village it only had a few fieldstone houses and a
mill for forging iron. The Quaker farms in the area offered good food and support for Washington s
men, so they accepted. However, as the days went by, they realized that maybe that hadn t been such a
good idea. The soldiers in the Continental Army should have left Valley Forge because of death and
illness, living conditions in camp (lack of food and clothing), and resentment towards Congress.
Although Thomas Paine s words of encouragement in the American Crisis were inspirational, this didn
t change the fact that the soldiers were suffering due to the extreme conditions in the camp. To begin,
the soldiers should have left Valley Forge because there were many soldiers who began dying of death
and illnesses that spread across camp. Noel F. Busch states that, by February 1, 1778, 3,989 out of
8,000 soldiers were sick , which was approximately 50% of the total population (Busch, 1974).
According to researchers, the low estimate of soldiers who were dying in that year (1778) was 1,800
out of 8,000 people, which was roughly 1 person dead for every 2 soldiers (10%). Finally, at the end

In the novel, Passing Time, Ehrhart experiences change....
In the novel, Passing Time, Ehrhart experiences change. For instance, Ehrhart begins to realize that the
war was a huge mistake on the government s behalf. Ehrhart believed that the government shouldn t
have taken part in the Vietnamese war due to the innocent deaths that developed over the years. Many
of the soldiers, including Ehrhart, were traumatized by the killings during the war. Ehrhart often
questions the events that take place during the war. For example, when Ehrhart witnessed innocent
civilians being killed from both Korea and America. In war, Ehrhart, was taking part in some of the

The police treated the protest as if it was a riot. The police didn t give a reasonable warning, but
insisted on beating civilians to death because the police didn t agree with the anti war members
protest. For instance, Ehrhart describes that one woman was being beaten to death by a police officer
and Ehrhart tackled the police officer to the ground (Ehrhart 166). A man had to help Ehrhart drag the
woman to safety after the woman was saved from being beaten to death. Another event that showed
the effects of the anti war movement well after Ehrhart returned from the war was when Ehrhart was
at another anti war protest. Ehrhart was explaining to the public why he decided to go against the war.
Ehrhart explained that he couldn t support something so pointless (Ehrhart 177). Ehrhart believed the
government had made the people believe that they were trying to stop the vast spread of communism.
Ehrhart believed that the government was lying and that President Nixon wanted to start and win
another war (Ehrhart 169). Ehrhart often expressed his anti war movement views to his crew mate,
Roger. When talking to Roger, Ehrhart explains his theory on why he feels lied to by the government.
Ehrhart explained to Roger that Vietnam is nothing but a way for the United States to express their
dominance and control. For example Ehrhart says, what we want is freedom to do business on our
own terms and as much of the damned pie we can grab (Ehrhart 181).

Deviance And Violence In Sports Analysis
After reading both chapters, I found the constructionist approach on deviance important as it allows
for diversity within sports. It would be extremely boring if individuals in a particular sport had the
same style of playing. The games would suffer due to a lack of excitement and possible funding that
are generated from sold tickets and merchandise. Because of its raw nature and physical violence, I
think sports such as Mixed martial arts are a great example of how deviance and violence fall into
sports. Numerous individuals including myself find these sports interesting as the athletes withhold a
sport ethic that shows deviant overconformity. In MMA matches, mixed martial artists can be seen
with bloody faces and visible bruises, yet they still continue to fight in order to gain distinction for
their fighting skills. Their skills still from the type of violence called brutal body contact where they
are encouraged by coaches to use forceful physical contact to hurt their opponent and render them
incapable of fighting back. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

that the guerrillas snuck in weakly disguised as athletes armed with a cache of weapons in duffle bags.
These men, as a diagram of the Olympic Village shows, did not have to go far to find the Israelis after
easily entering the compound. Red Smith, sports editorialist, was livid at Olympic Organizers for their
lack of attention to detail, and due to the fact that the Games continues until 4:00 PM on the day of the

very first citizens and it was made with pride. Before the constitution came to life the United States

the country that the constitution freed us from, did not think the United States was going to make it

something to help it along. They needed the constitution. Because of this strong link between the
constitution and the survival of the United States, many patriots, including Shepherd, have an
emotional attachment to the constitution. Because of that link many patriots perceive attacks on the

questions Rumson s national pride by saying that Rumson doesn t support the Constitution. What true

Existentialism, Nihilism, And Objectivism
From the beginning of time people have pondered existence and what it means to truly Be , indeed the
most important questions that one can ask are those of a metaphysical nature. The deeper questions
that seek to explain the reason we re here in the first place, if for any reason at all. It s easy to get lost
in the many differing theories proposed from Determinism to Rationalism to Solipsism to Absurdism
the possible theories one can ascribe as correct are endless. But the ones that try to answer those big
questions in the most general of terms are the ones that seem to hold the most verisimilitude.
Existentialism, Nihilism, and Objectivism are the most general, and although quite different they are
also quite similar. But existentialism seems to be the one which offers the most hope for optimism or
any concern for altruism and personal growth.
To begin with it should be taken into consideration the circumstances in which humanity found itself
in when these sort philosophical musings of ontology became so prevalent among the society of
thinkers and intellectuals. With the turbulence and constant change of the late 19th and 20th century it
only makes sense that people would begin to wonder what it all really means. With wars, genocide,
and poverty contrasted against the unprecedented industrial and technological advances of the time not
to mention the exponential growth in some populations, it became easier and easier to lose one s

The Qualities Of Myself That Stand Out
Everyone in the world has many different characteristics that stand out, but one of the characteristics
about myself that stand out is my generosity and my love for others. All of my life I put others
problems on myself, and though it may not be a healthy thing to do. I always do it because of my love
for people. I have always been willing to put my problems aside to make others happy. By making
others happy I please myself.
I have always wonder why I was given this trait. I just figured it always genetic and yes your traits are
a mixture of your mother and father traits, but that does not explain the other reasons for it. I believe
that there are many scientists that have worked to discover how this is true. We tend to base our
characteristics off of the theories such as behaviorist, humanistic, psychoanalytic, biological, and
cognitive. Behaviorism is founded in the premise of behaviors that can be described scientifically
using facets of philosophy and methodology but also suggesting that theory and not physiological
constraints explain the behaviors of humanity. Moore suggests that radical behaviorism is not
biological but philosophical in its origin. Moore also contends that virtually all American
psychologists are now at least in part, behavioral psychologists (Moore, 2011). Therefore, despite my
own tendencies to believe otherwise, perhaps my nature is at least in part defined by behaviorist
theory. Behaviorism should be an objective science that studies behavior

caused Kate to distort Helen s differentiation between right and wrong, and Annie realizes that being

thinks that this love and pity from Kate is Helen s worst handicap because it prevents her from

repeatedly dropping her napkin, Kate tries to make excuses for her and supposes, Will once hurt so

that she can get away with misbehaving, now that she is reunited with her family, she will revert back

Annie is able to teach Helen how to act and behave like a seeing child, and begin to break through

Two Types Of Solar Eclipses In Greek History
An eclipse is an astronomical event that happens when a celestial object such as a moon or a planet
moves into the shadow of another celestial body and there are two types of the eclipse on Earth named
solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. A solar eclipse happens when the moon s shadow falls somewhere on
the surface of the earth and a lunar eclipse is the opposite of solar eclipse which happens when the
earth s shadow falls on the moon. There are two sections of the shadow, the dark umbra, and the
partially shaded penumbra, their placement determines the type of eclipse that can be seen on earth
though placement sun. According to Greek history, the person who predicted the first eclipse was a
Greek mathematician, Thales of Miletus. On May 28, 585 BC, the Lydians, and Medes were engaged
in fierce fighting and this was the six year of war between them. Each was from a different side of
Anatolia which is modern day Turkey. As the battle stretched on into the evening, both armies were
surprised to see the Sun suddenly darkening and they believed that it was a message from the gods
that they were displeased by the strife. But the Lydians and Medes laid down their arms. They swore
to end the long war and solidified the peace by giving a Lydian princess to marry the king of the
Medes. This is one of the earliest events in recorded history to which we can set an exact date as we
can calculate when that eclipse took place. The eclipses are valuable to the historian as they give us an
event that we can use to correctly date ancient chronologies. Ancient historians recorded that his
eclipse that stopped the war was actually predicted by Thales. Through thousands of year, patiently
watching the movements of the Sun and Moon in the sky, ancient astronomers realized eclipses
happen when the moon passed directly in front of the Sun. For the solar eclipse to work though, of
course, the moon has to be big enough to block out the sun. In reality, the moon is 400 times smaller
than the Sun but in a fantastic cosmic. However, from our point of view, the moon is almost exactly
the same size as the sun in the sky and this means it will line up and it will completely block the disc
of the sun. If the moon is the smaller or any further

Review of Magnetotactic Bacteria and Magnetosomes
Magnetotactic bacteria are a group of prokaryotes of varying morphologies. The morphologies include
coccoid, helical, multicellular, rod shaped, and vibriod1. Magnetotactic bacteria were first discovered
by Salvatore Bellini in 1963 2. The commonality of all members of magnetotactic bacteria is that they
passively orient and swim along the geomagnetic field by means of a method called magnetotaxis.
The ability to swim along the geomagnetic field is made possible by an organelle that all
magnetotactic bacteria have, called the magnetosome 3. Other commonalities that magnetotactic
bacteria share is that they are all gram negative bacteria, are motile by means of flagella, exhibit
negative growth responses to atmospheric oxygen, and metabolize substrates via respiration 4. All
magnetotactic bacteria are either microaerophiles anaerobes, or facultatively anaerobic aerophiles 3.
This paper is designed to provide a summary of the structure, synthesis, function, distribution, and
potential uses of magnetosomes, as well as discuss current issues facing magnetosome research and
application.
Structure
Magnetotactic bacteria typically mineralize iron oxide or iron sulphide magnetosomes. The iron oxide
magnetosomes contain crystals of magnetite (Fe3O4) 5 and the iron sulphide magnetosomes are
composed of crystals of greigite (Fe3S4) 6. Of note, magnetite is the more studied form of

Difference Between A Leader And A Boss
The hardest element while being an entrepreneur is leading a team. Take special notice of what was
said there; lead and team. As one goes about life trying to climb the ladder within a workplace, he/she
will often lose sight of what is genuinely important: attitude and servitude. One will become so caught
up in the success that he/she will become a boss figure; except when this happens, the person is not
successful. This alters one s future and relationships, not only in the workplace but also in the home
life, in essence affecting the community as a whole. Leaders and bosses run communities, but there is
a definite difference between the two styles. In today s society, a boss must work to become a great
leader.
So the question is, what is the difference between a leader and a boss? The answer is easy; it s the way
they think. If one searched Leader vs. Boss on the internet, the person would probably find the quote
Bosses push while leaders pull by Dave Ramsey. What that means is that a boss will tell a team what
to do while a leader will do it with them. This is because he/she will participate in the workload and
take the fall for them if something goes wrong. Andy Stanley s tells in his podcast that someone
should always try to never over complicate situations. He says, One must aspire to be the dumbest
person in the room . This will push the person to surround himself/herself with smarter people; this
will help the person grow because one can never be finished.

The Death Of An Idol. A Day Like Any Other, A High School
The Death of an Idol
A day like any other, a high school student, Karissa Rider, tried to catch up on some much needed
sleep before her first period began. Too groggy to realize the effect of this event, she overheard the
gossip of the day. The previous day April 5, 1994, something happened that would change the life of
every music fan alive. Kurt Cobain, lead singer of the popular grunge band, Nirvana, had overdosed
on heroin and shot himself.
Cobain was only twenty seven when he committed suicide(Johnson). Frontman of Nirvana, what most
consider to be the greatest grunge band of all time, Cobain was a very important figure in the music
industry in the nineties and onward. He made several strides to push music further and change the ...

As a child Karissa was very into music as most children are. Although she did not very much care for
Cobain at the time she cites Prince as one of her biggest idols in the musical field, comparing him to
Cobain in several ways. As an adult she sees many similarities between both great artists. She states
that both were widely recognized artists who changed the industry with their different stunning styles
that captured the hearts of many. Prince s recent death had affected Karissa similar to the way Cobain
might have if she was a bigger fan at the time of his death. The effect of Cobain s death truly set in
Karissa s mind thanks to a coworker who cared very much for the singer. A young high schoolkid,
Karissa valued having money so, during her junior year she worked a two jobs at the same time. Her
first job at a nursing home and her second at Jack In the Box, this is where she would finally realize
Cobain was more than just a regular old singer, although she would not fully appreciate his art and
abilities for years to come.
Rider describes a boy named Robert. Robert was one of her co workers at Jack In the Box, the only
difference, this boy was in love with Kurt Cobain. At the time Rider did not care much for Cobain and
could not truly see the effect he had until she saw Robert. Robert was so devastated by Cobain s death

The Purpose Of Equality In Langston Hughes s Democracy
The equality in our world is not working, we always try to make it equal for every and each person,
but as we can see it still unequal. The Langston Hughes in his poem Democracy trying to say that
everyone is equal in this world and everyone should have equal laws. The poem has written when
African Americans were getting to slavery and he was trying to make the world equal for everyone. A
lot of us would ask, why did this happen? what was the purpose? it doesn t have any explanation or
any right. We all are living in this land and we would make it equal for everyone and does not let
things go as they want to.
We are the one who should make this world equal for everyone. The world itself is unequal so people
should try to make the communities equal to balance this. As Langston Hughes says in his poem
Democracy , I have as much right / As the other fellow has / To stand / On my two feet / And own the
land. (line 5 9) In this stanza the writer uses simile to explain that he is equal to everyone in this world
and he can be a president, he can be an athlete, and we should not make a difference based on people s
religion, or nationality, or language, and everyone is the same. The world is divided into two parts
people who want to change something and people who just say let things happen. So our future is
under the question, and we would not know how a thing can turn good to bad or bad to good. Hughes
was the one who wanted to change the world, to make it equal, and as we can see in his poem
Democracy , I tire of hearing people say, / Let things take their course. / Tomorrow is another day. / I
do not need my freedom when I m dead. He was telling us that people should not wait for something
to happen because it might not happen in your lifetime, so why not try while you have the opportunity
to. People around him was telling him to wait to let things go, and he was not angry because his idea
was that we don t know what would happen tomorrow, so we need to do it today. So overall he was
trying to make a change make the world equal in his lifetime, and be an owner in this land.
As long as people think that something will change it is not going to happen because we are the one
who would change it if we seat and

The War Of 1812 Was A Great Deal Of Curiosity
History has the tendency to cause a great deal of curiosity. For instance, someone may wonder what
the War of 1812 was and what difficulties the United States had in waging the War of 1812. They also
might ponder about why the War of 1812 was widely viewed as a victory for the United States or how
the war lead to an increasing pattern of diplomatic cooperation between the United States and Britain.
Our very own seventh president, Andrew Jackson, has meant a great deal in our history and some may
ask what it was about his presidency that distinguished him compared to his predecessors, or how he
refined the role of the president. Last but not least, there remains the important question about what
factors lead to the increasing production of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Before getting to that point, we must first discuss the events that led to increasing tensions between
the United States and Britain. One of the difficulties that led to the War of 1812 was because of the
failure of economic sanctions. In 1810, congress had replaced the Nonintercourse Act with Macon s
Bill No. 2 in hopes of creating easier trading throughout the nations. Through this time, and with the
replacement of the Nonintercourse Act with Macon s Bill No. 2, Napoleon had promised to withdraw
decrees against U.S. shipping on the condition that if Britain should not follow suit, Madison would
have to force Britain to respect U.S. rights. Unfortunately, French seizures of U.S. ships continued and
by the time Napoleon s requests were clear, he had worsened Anglo American tensions. In November
of 1810, Madison had reimposed Nonintercourse against Britain which only caused the two nations to
have more conflicts. Another difficulty leading to the decision of war in 1812 was due to the frontier
and Indian resistance. Madison was also pushed toward a war against Britain because of mounting
frustrations in the South and West. Farm prices plunged when Jefferson s embargo shut off exports,
but stayed low after the embargo was lifted. Much of the blame for persistent agricultural depression
focused on the British and their hold on overseas trade after 1808. As we can see, Britain and the U.S.
had not been on good sides of the other. In fact, western

Climate Change Reflection
After watching the move How To Let Go and Love All The Things Climate Can t Change, my
perception of our world completely changed. With the overwhelming facts to the heartfelt stories Josh
Fox exposes viewers to the damage that is yet to come. This movie was so effective as opposed to
other climate documentaries because Fox explains the human aspects of climate change. Traveling to
twelve countries on six continents he explains how ocean warming, sea level rise, and air quality are
already negatively affecting people in their everyday lives. People don t connect with facts, people
connect with people. This is something I am realizing is critical in getting others on board with
sustainability initiatives and to re think the role we play as consumers. After graduating I want to work
as a sustainability director for a large company. At the start of my sustainability journey I am
discovering that the most essential part of a sustainability director s job is to be personable. People
will be more likely to implement change when they realize how it benefits or affects them and their
organization. Without effective communication, projects will never be funded, ideas will not be
considered, and it is less likely that your impact will be as substantial as it could. As a sustainability
advocate, it will be my job to promote and implement initiatives that will help us now, but also
generations to come will feel those effects. Josh Fox shows it is the grassroot groups and people
stepping up to protect our planet because they know it is necessary. I have developed the mindset, if
not me than who? Out of all ten of the things that climate can t change, I believe that the most
important one is resilience. As sustainability professionals, it is a fact of life that you will be told no.
But the key is moving on from that. You can not get yourself worked up just because things didn t play
out how we want. We can also not let getting told no beat us down, not everyone understands or wants
to understand the environmental catastrophes that are upon us. With this in mind, we should use
getting told no to drive us forward and work even harder on the next project we have. Resilience stood
out to me in the movie when the Samoa tribe

Henry V Act 1 Scene 5 Summary
I. The play takes place in early fifteenth century England after the death of King Henry IV, when his
son, King Henry V, claimed the throne. In order to gain respect from the English people, Henry must
move on from his wild and adventurous adolescent past of befriending thieves and drunkards. He
decides to lay claim on come areas of France; however, when the young prince of France responds to
these claims in a very cruel manner, henry plots to invade France. As he gathers troops for the war,
many of his old friends decide to depart from their homes and families to join him. Before his fleet
sets sail, the King discoverers three traitors, including a former friend, conspiring to murder him. He
responds by having all three executed. Finally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are several themes displayed in Henry V; however, the main one is the character of a good king.
Being a good leader, intelligent, focused, and inspiring to his men, Henry represents the ideal king.
The play also hints that the qualities that make one a good king are not necessarily the same qualities a
good person possesses. For example, before Henry invaded France, he commanded his troops to
refrain from taking things from the French churches. However, ignoring this command, Henry s
friend, Bardolph, robbed a church. Fluellen explained to Henry, [there is] one that is to be executed for
robbing a church, one Bardolph, if your majesty know the man: his face is all bubukles, and whelks,
and knobs, and flames o fire (Henry V, 3.5.1565 1659). Henry said to him in response, We would have
all such offenders so cut off: and we give express charge, that in our marches through the , there be
nothing compelled from the villages, nothing taken but paid for, none of the French upbraided or
abused in disdainful language; (3.5.572 1576). Although Burdolph is Henry s friend, Henry knows
that those who disobey the law must be punished without exception, so he allows his friend to be
hanged. This demonstrates how being ruthless is actually an important quality for kings to have. Being
strong, determined, and adhesive to the law, Henry V models the character qualities of a good

Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Revelations
Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who was later also known as Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, was born in 1840 in
Russia. He was the first Russian who got an international fame due to his music in the classical
repertoire. Regarding our essay, we have chosen the song which is originally composed by
Tchaikovsky and then later in 1895, Ivanov along with Petipa revised the Swan Lake.
The choreography of Swan lake The Kirov Ballet basically focuses on is the Revelations and
Bacchanale. Revelation is the dance that I like the most, however, Baccanale is my least favorite
dance. To me, the dance symbolizes the parson s socialization in western civilization concerning roles
of gender. In the past era, there was a gesture that was separated from full embodiment and emotion,
but with the passage of time, those gestures become more recognizable and meaningful. People move
with the rhythm of the music, which is known as Dance. It is also known as art performance that
contains organized and selected movements of the human body. There are several kinds of dance such
as informal, professional performance, and ritual performance. The dance involves several moves of
the body with the music in the specific space to express emotions, feelings of joy or an idea to get
delighted by the body movements and also with the purpose to release energy.
Revelations
Revelations is my most favorite dance and it was first performed by the Alvin Ailey in American
Dance Theatre and is known as three section dance. The reason why it fascinates me a lot is that each
section of this dance focus and display distinct factors that the people (Africans Americans) affected
since the era of slavery and it is still present to fight for their rights. The theme of this dance is a unity
that is showcased in every piece that was controversial in America because of racial discrimination.
Pilgrim of Sorrow is the first section of this dance that is opened with a group of dancers. The dancers
are in harmony using their arms in alegato tempo to create angular shapes. The dancers constantly
moved and separated separately, but in the other step they would come back as one unit and become
coordinated where they extended their long arms upwards. Their hands in the air seem

Roman Polanski s Repulsion Essays
Roman Polanski s Repulsion
Analysis of an aspect of visual form in the film Repulsion In the 1964/65 film Repulsion by Roman
Polanski, the story is about the conflict between reality and fantasy or sanity and insanity inside the
main character s mind Carol played by Catherine Deneuve. Therefore the narrative technique of
symbolism is used to display visually to the film s audience what happens to Carol s mind. In this
particular instance, the degeneration of Carol s state of mind is symbolised.
Carol s state of mind degenerates, or breaks down because of her repulsion of masculinity in a sexual
context. Through Carol s eyes, we see masculinity as being aggressive, obsessive, crude/sexually
suggestive, rapacious and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obviously the camera then pans to see this but it can hold onto the shot for longer than Carol looks at
it, giving the audience a chance to understand why Carol might look at it. As her state of mind being
like it is, what it symbolises only needs a casual look or glance at it from Carol. As a symbol itself, the
empty hut represents a pathway or tunnel to a dark kind of life one filled with despair, depression,
anxiety, anger, fear, hate, and/or any other types of negative human qualities. Near the end of the film,
this dark image is shown again, just after Carol kills the landlord with the cut throat razor. Her face is
kept in shadow an oval of near black and is framed by her hair, which enhances this image further
because it is blond.
As I have implied before, Carol s understanding of life around her is distorted. She frequently sees
cracks appearing in walls which can be read as cracks in her mind. In one instance, Carol sees a crack
in the pavement on her way to work. She becomes engrossed by it, and sits down on a bench by it to
simply look at it. The shot of the crack taken over her right shoulder shows that the crack runs
between her feet. It then splits into two cracks, making the entire crack look like a Y . This suggests
that it is used as a symbol to show two paths in life to take: the first being the good, realistic or sane
path; the other being the bad, fantastic or insane path. Her boyfriend then finds her claiming

Abraham Harold Maslow and Self Actualization
Abraham Harold Maslow was born on April 1, 1908 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the oldest of
seven children born to his parents, who were uneducated Jewish immigrants from Russia. His parents,
wanting the best for their children in the new world , pushed him hard in his academic studies. He was
smart but shy, and remembered his childhood as being lonely and rather unhappy. He sought refuge in
his books and studies. His father hoped he would study as a lawyer, and Maslow enrolled in the City
College of New York. After three semesters at CCNY, he transferred to Cornell and then back to
CCNY again. He married his first cousin Bertha, against his parent s wishes and moved to Wisconsin,

Maslow became the leader of the humanistic school of psychology that emerged in the 1950 s and
1960 s, which he referred to as the third force , beyond Freudian theory and behaviorism. Also during
this period of his life, he came into contact with the many European intellectuals that were
immigrating to the United States, Brooklyn in particular, people like Adler, Fromm, Horney, as well as
several Gestalt and Freudian psychologists. In 1951, Maslow served as the chair of the psychology
department at Brandeis for 10 years, where he met Kurt Goldstein, who introduced him to the idea of
self actualization, and helped him begin his own theoretical work. It was also here that he began his
crusade for a humanistic psychology, something ultimately much more important to him than his own
theorizing. In, 1969 he became a resident fellow of the Laughlin Institute in California. A year later
after several years of ill health he died of a heart attack on June 8th. One of the many interesting
things that Maslow noticed, while early in his career working with monkeys, was that some needs take
precedence over others. For example, if you are hungry and thirsty, you will tend to try and take care
of the thirst first. After all, you can live without food for several weeks, but you can only live a few
days without water. Maslow took

Overfishing the World Big Fish Population
Over Fishing the World Big Fish Population

Axia College of University of Phoenix
The overfishing of our world s oceans is causing a depletion of some prize fish, such as tuna and
swordfish, to the point that some scientists believe that 90% of these big fish populations have been
fished out. Jeremy Jackson of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography published a study in 2001 in
which he asserts that overfishing is more destructive than toxic pollution or degrading water quality
(University of Phoenix, 2007). Dr. Daniel Pauly, Professor and Director of the University of British
Columbia s Fisheries Centre, describes it as follow on The Overfishing.org (2007) website: The big

By putting this plan into practice, we will also resolve the other problems created by over fishing, as it
effects not only the depleted fish population, but also the animals for which those fish are food of
choice. Whales are turning to sea otters for food, rather than the sea lions and seals on which they
normally feed, as those populations also decline. Over fishing has also caused the use, as stated earlier,
of smaller mesh nets, increasing the amount of by catch that is caught in the nets. By catch is the
seabirds, dolphins, sea turtles, and even whales that are also caught in the net as they drag it in, and
are usually dumped back into the ocean, dead or dying. A drastic reduction in the amount of by catch
will subsequently occur with the reinstating of the larger mesh nets.
The management plan may cause fishermen to have to look into a second source of income for the
first five to ten years, as the most severe restrictions are put into place, giving the fish populations can
breed and repopulate, and a reassessment to be done by the scientific community charged with
monitoring the big fish groups. Governments might be forced to subsidize the industry for this initial
period, to help prevent illegal poaching by some fishermen who saw poaching as their only economic
alternative. Consumers would have to reduce their use of fish, and would have to pay more for the fish
they did purchase at the market during this period of

International Trade Shaped The Economy, Culture And...
First of all, I agree with the statement that, International trade shaped the economy, culture and

term International trade literally means the exchange of goods between different countries in the
world. On the other hand, the aim of the international trade is to spread the culture and absorb the new
culture and things in in order to make a better society. The Silk Road was the first step that starts to

coincidence; the reason is that the Mongol Empire ruled the Eurasia during that period. On the other

A person living on the land can only an estate of the land. This means that a person could never fully own land. Only the Crown has full ownership of land. This form of ownership is known as the doctrine of estates. The Crown having full ownership means that land without an owner did not exist. The first form of land ownership used in Australia was the doctrine of tenure. Which originated from English common law, upon the British settlement. The feudal system adopted in England at medieval times provided a system that was economic and it provided a geographic map for the people living in the country. The purpose of the feudal system was to give power to the Crown, who owned all the land. In return, the Crown decided how they would grant land. The doctrine of tenure was implemented in Australia was not suited to the structure of the country. There was no need to adopt the English version of tenure. The structure of Australia provided a great opportunity to create a new kind of tenure that was unique to Australia. The reason for not creating a new version of tenure was due to the settlers already having precedents they needed to follow. The doctrine of tenure originates from English common law. • 5. The Human Dimensions Of Natural Resource Management The human dimensions of natural resource management are very important to the successful management of any natural resource. In order for any natural resource to be successfully managed their must be ample funding and public support and interest; two key aspects that are often not throughly considered but are vital to the success of good resource management. These two aspects also go hand in hand, for example, if the public is connected and involved with there natural resources they will be more likely to support them and work to protect them. If the public is not involved or not informed on there natural resources they will likely take them for granted and have little to no interest on their management. I see this happen very often in state parks on holidays, people from the city come into the park and leave trash everywhere because they only go there a few times a year and don t understand the ecological consequences of this behavior because they are not there often enough to understand. Integrating human dimensions into natural resource management means to carefully consider and include the publics beliefs and values while managing any public natural resource (Jacobson and McDuff 265). The human dimensions aspect of natural resource management is complex and involves many different aspects that all play a vital role in the publics interest and contribution to natural resources. • 7. Socialization Process In Society The socialization process can be described as the process one undergoes to learn the acceptable way to behave in society. From a young age, people are taught how to behave, what to think, and how to look. These variables create rules or norms in society today. Examples of a social norm would be gender rules today. Zimbardo used the example of a man being interested in ballet being seen as unusual and being criticized because of his interests (Zimbardo 144). This is a perfect example of socialization because in society we are groomed to believe that ballet is girly or feminine. While there is nothing about dance itself that is feminine, humanity has created an association with ballet and females. This association is a behavior that is learned during the socialization process. Another example of the socialization process common in today s society would be the gender rule that women are to be submissive in the relationship. Traditionally women stay home, take care of the kids, and cook meals. While none of these acts in them self are submissive an association with these acts and submission from a wife to a husband has formed. This was a perfect example of the socialization process for young girls growing up with the goal to have a family, a husband, and kids, only to perform wifely duties as the perfect life. This socialization though has now been broken with more women going into the workforce and some becoming the breadwinner of the family. Fathers staying home ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. The Causes Of Valley Forge Imagine living under brutal conditions in a rundown, secluded fort, far away from home and knowing that you could die at any minute. What would you do? During the winter of 1777 to 1778, George Washington s Continental Army set up their post at Valley Forge, a military camp 18 miles northwest of Philadelphia. It was not big enough to be called a village it only had a few fieldstone houses and a mill for forging iron. The Quaker farms in the area offered good food and support for Washington s men, so they accepted. However, as the days went by, they realized that maybe that hadn t been such a good idea. The soldiers in the Continental Army should have left Valley Forge because of death and illness, living conditions in camp (lack of food and clothing), and resentment towards Congress. Although Thomas Paine s words of encouragement in the American Crisis were inspirational, this didn t change the fact that the soldiers were suffering due to the extreme conditions in the camp. To begin, the soldiers should have left Valley Forge because there were many soldiers who began dying of death and illnesses that spread across camp. Noel F. Busch states that, by February 1, 1778, 3,989 out of 8,000 soldiers were sick , which was approximately 50% of the total population (Busch, 1974). According to researchers, the low estimate of soldiers who were dying in that year (1778) was 1,800 out of 8,000 people, which was roughly 1 person dead for every 2 soldiers (10%). It would be extremely boring if individuals in a particular sport had the same style of playing. • 24. Two Types Of Solar Eclipses In Greek History An eclipse is an astronomical event that happens when a celestial object such as a moon or a planet moves into the shadow of another celestial body and there are two types of the eclipse on Earth named solar eclipse and lunar eclipse. A solar eclipse happens when the moon s shadow falls somewhere on the surface of the earth and a lunar eclipse is the opposite of solar eclipse which happens when the earth s shadow falls on the moon. There are two sections of the shadow, the dark umbra, and the partially shaded penumbra, their placement determines the type of eclipse that can be seen on earth though placement sun. According to Greek history, the person who predicted the first eclipse was a Greek mathematician, Thales of Miletus. On May 28, 585 BC, the Lydians, and Medes were engaged in fierce fighting and this was the six year of war between them. Each was from a different side of Anatolia which is modern day Turkey. As the battle stretched on into the evening, both armies were surprised to see the Sun suddenly darkening and they believed that it was a message from the gods that they were displeased by the strife. But the Lydians and Medes laid down their arms. They swore to end the long war and solidified the peace by giving a Lydian princess to marry the king of the Medes. This is one of the earliest events in recorded history to which we can set an exact date as we can calculate when that eclipse took place. The eclipses are valuable to the historian as they give us an event that we can use to correctly date ancient chronologies. Ancient historians recorded that his eclipse that stopped the war was actually predicted by Thales. Through thousands of year, patiently watching the movements of the Sun and Moon in the sky, ancient astronomers realized eclipses happen when the moon passed directly in front of the Sun. For the solar eclipse to work though, of course, the moon has to be big enough to block out the sun. In reality, the moon is 400 times smaller than the Sun but in a fantastic cosmic. • 25. Review Of Magnetotactic Bacteria And Magnetosomes Christian Ramirez Bionanotechnology 12/18/14 Review of Magnetotactic Bacteria and Magnetosomes Magnetotactic bacteria are a group of prokaryotes of varying morphologies. The morphologies include coccoid, helical, multicellular, rod shaped, and vibriod1. Magnetotactic bacteria were first discovered by Salvatore Bellini in 1963 2. The commonality of all members of magnetotactic bacteria is that they passively orient and swim along the geomagnetic field by means of a method called magnetotaxis. The ability to swim along the geomagnetic field is made possible by an organelle that all magnetotactic bacteria have, called the magnetosome 3. Other commonalities that magnetotactic bacteria share is that they are all gram negative bacteria, are motile by means of flagella, exhibit negative growth responses to atmospheric oxygen, and metabolize substrates via respiration 4. All magnetotactic bacteria are either microaerophiles anaerobes, or facultatively anaerobic aerophiles 3. This paper is designed to provide a summary of the structure, synthesis, function, distribution, and potential uses of magnetosomes, as well as discuss current issues facing magnetosome research and application. As one goes about life trying to climb the ladder within a workplace, he/she will often lose sight of what is genuinely important: attitude and servitude. One will become so caught up in the success that he/she will become a boss figure; except when this happens, the person is not successful. This alters one s future and relationships, not only in the workplace but also in the home life, in essence affecting the community as a whole. Leaders and bosses run communities, but there is a definite difference between the two styles. In today s society, a boss must work to become a great leader. So the question is, what is the difference between a leader and a boss? The answer is easy; it s the way they think. If one searched Leader vs. Boss on the internet, the person would probably find the quote Bosses push while leaders pull by Dave Ramsey. What that means is that a boss will tell a team what to do while a leader will do it with them. This is because he/she will participate in the workload and take the fall for them if something goes wrong. • 28. The Purpose Of Equality In Langston Hughes s Democracy The equality in our world is not working, we always try to make it equal for every and each person, but as we can see it still unequal. The Langston Hughes in his poem Democracy trying to say that everyone is equal in this world and everyone should have equal laws. The poem has written when African Americans were getting to slavery and he was trying to make the world equal for everyone. A lot of us would ask, why did this happen? what was the purpose? it doesn t have any explanation or any right. We all are living in this land and we would make it equal for everyone and does not let things go as they want to. We are the one who should make this world equal for everyone. The world itself is unequal so people should try to make the communities equal to balance this. As Langston Hughes says in his poem Democracy , I have as much right / As the other fellow has / To stand / On my two feet / And own the land. (line 5 9) In this stanza the writer uses simile to explain that he is equal to everyone in this world and he can be a president, he can be an athlete, and we should not make a difference based on people s religion, or nationality, or language, and everyone is the same. The world is divided into two parts people who want to change something and people who just say let things happen. So our future is under the question, and we would not know how a thing can turn good to bad or bad to good. Hughes was the one who wanted to change the world, to make it equal, and as we can see in his poem Democracy , I tire of hearing people say, / Let things take their course. / Tomorrow is another day. / I do not need my freedom when I m dead. He was telling us that people should not wait for something to happen because it might not happen in your lifetime, so why not try while you have the opportunity to. • 29. The War Of 1812 Was A Great Deal Of Curiosity History has the tendency to cause a great deal of curiosity. For instance, someone may wonder what the War of 1812 was and what difficulties the United States had in waging the War of 1812. They also might ponder about why the War of 1812 was widely viewed as a victory for the United States or how the war lead to an increasing pattern of diplomatic cooperation between the United States and Britain. Our very own seventh president, Andrew Jackson, has meant a great deal in our history and some may ask what it was about his presidency that distinguished him compared to his predecessors, or how he refined the role of the president. Last but not least, there remains the important question about what factors lead to the increasing production of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before getting to that point, we must first discuss the events that led to increasing tensions between the United States and Britain. One of the difficulties that led to the War of 1812 was because of the failure of economic sanctions. In 1810, congress had replaced the Nonintercourse Act with Macon s Bill No. 2 in hopes of creating easier trading throughout the nations. Through this time, and with the replacement of the Nonintercourse Act with Macon s Bill No. 2, Napoleon had promised to withdraw decrees against U.S. shipping on the condition that if Britain should not follow suit, Madison would have to force Britain to respect U.S. rights. Unfortunately, French seizures of U.S. ships continued and by the time Napoleon s requests were clear, he had worsened Anglo American tensions. In November of 1810, Madison had reimposed Nonintercourse against Britain which only caused the two nations to have more conflicts. Another difficulty leading to the decision of war in 1812 was due to the frontier and Indian resistance. Madison was also pushed toward a war against Britain because of mounting frustrations in the South and West. Farm prices plunged when Jefferson s embargo shut off exports, but stayed low after the embargo was lifted. Much of the blame for persistent agricultural depression focused on the British and their hold on overseas trade after 1808. As we can see, Britain and the U.S. had not been on good sides of the other. In fact, western ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 30. Climate Change Reflection After watching the move How To Let Go and Love All The Things Climate Can t Change, my perception of our world completely changed. With the overwhelming facts to the heartfelt stories Josh Fox exposes viewers to the damage that is yet to come. This movie was so effective as opposed to other climate documentaries because Fox explains the human aspects of climate change. Traveling to twelve countries on six continents he explains how ocean warming, sea level rise, and air quality are already negatively affecting people in their everyday lives. People don t connect with facts, people connect with people. This is something I am realizing is critical in getting others on board with sustainability initiatives and to re think the role we play as consumers. After graduating I want to work as a sustainability director for a large company. At the start of my sustainability journey I am discovering that the most essential part of a sustainability director s job is to be personable. People will be more likely to implement change when they realize how it benefits or affects them and their organization. Without effective communication, projects will never be funded, ideas will not be considered, and it is less likely that your impact will be as substantial as it could. As a sustainability advocate, it will be my job to promote and implement initiatives that will help us now, but also generations to come will feel those effects. Josh Fox shows it is the grassroot groups and people stepping up to protect our planet because they know it is necessary. I have developed the mindset, if not me than who? Out of all ten of the things that climate can t change, I believe that the most important one is resilience. As sustainability professionals, it is a fact of life that you will be told no. But the key is moving on from that. You can not get yourself worked up just because things didn t play out how we want. We can also not let getting told no beat us down, not everyone understands or wants to understand the environmental catastrophes that are upon us. With this in mind, we should use getting told no to drive us forward and work even harder on the next project we have. Resilience stood out to me in the movie when the Samoa tribe ... • 31. Henry V Act 1 Scene 5 Summary I. The play takes place in early fifteenth century England after the death of King Henry IV, when his son, King Henry V, claimed the throne. In order to gain respect from the English people, Henry must move on from his wild and adventurous adolescent past of befriending thieves and drunkards. He decides to lay claim on come areas of France; however, when the young prince of France responds to these claims in a very cruel manner, henry plots to invade France. As he gathers troops for the war, many of his old friends decide to depart from their homes and families to join him. Before his fleet sets sail, the King discoverers three traitors, including a former friend, conspiring to murder him. He responds by having all three executed. Finally, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There are several themes displayed in Henry V; however, the main one is the character of a good king. Being a good leader, intelligent, focused, and inspiring to his men, Henry represents the ideal king. The play also hints that the qualities that make one a good king are not necessarily the same qualities a good person possesses. For example, before Henry invaded France, he commanded his troops to refrain from taking things from the French churches. However, ignoring this command, Henry s friend, Bardolph, robbed a church. Fluellen explained to Henry, [there is] one that is to be executed for robbing a church, one Bardolph, if your majesty know the man: his face is all bubukles, and whelks, and knobs, and flames o fire (Henry V, 3.5.1565 1659). Henry said to him in response, We would have all such offenders so cut off: and we give express charge, that in our marches through the , there be nothing compelled from the villages, nothing taken but paid for, none of the French upbraided or abused in disdainful language; (3.5.572 1576). Although Burdolph is Henry s friend, Henry knows that those who disobey the law must be punished without exception, so he allows his friend to be hanged. This demonstrates how being ruthless is actually an important quality for kings to have. Being strong, determined, and adhesive to the law, Henry V models the character qualities of a good ... • 32. Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky Revelations Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, who was later also known as Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, was born in 1840 in Russia. He was the first Russian who got an international fame due to his music in the classical repertoire. Regarding our essay, we have chosen the song which is originally composed by Tchaikovsky and then later in 1895, Ivanov along with Petipa revised the Swan Lake. The choreography of Swan lake The Kirov Ballet basically focuses on is the Revelations and Bacchanale. Revelation is the dance that I like the most, however, Baccanale is my least favorite dance. To me, the dance symbolizes the parson s socialization in western civilization concerning roles of gender. In the past era, there was a gesture that was separated from full embodiment and emotion, but with the passage of time, those gestures become more recognizable and meaningful. People move with the rhythm of the music, which is known as Dance. It is also known as art performance that contains organized and selected movements of the human body. There are several kinds of dance such as informal, professional performance, and ritual performance. The dance involves several moves of the body with the music in the specific space to express emotions, feelings of joy or an idea to get delighted by the body movements and also with the purpose to release energy. Revelations Revelations is my most favorite dance and it was first performed by the Alvin Ailey in American Dance Theatre and is known as three section dance. The reason why it fascinates me a lot is that each section of this dance focus and display distinct factors that the people (Africans Americans) affected since the era of slavery and it is still present to fight for their rights. The theme of this dance is a unity that is showcased in every piece that was controversial in America because of racial discrimination. Pilgrim of Sorrow is the first section of this dance that is opened with a group of dancers. The dancers are in harmony using their arms in alegato tempo to create angular shapes. The dancers constantly moved and separated separately, but in the other step they would come back as one unit and become coordinated where they extended their long arms upwards. • 34. Roman Polanski s Repulsion Essays Roman Polanski s Repulsion Analysis of an aspect of visual form in the film Repulsion In the 1964/65 film Repulsion by Roman Polanski, the story is about the conflict between reality and fantasy or sanity and insanity inside the main character s mind Carol played by Catherine Deneuve. Therefore the narrative technique of symbolism is used to display visually to the film s audience what happens to Carol s mind. In this particular instance, the degeneration of Carol s state of mind is symbolised. Carol s state of mind degenerates, or breaks down because of her repulsion of masculinity in a sexual context. Through Carol s eyes, we see masculinity as being aggressive, obsessive, crude/sexually suggestive, rapacious and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obviously the camera then pans to see this but it can hold onto the shot for longer than Carol looks at it, giving the audience a chance to understand why Carol might look at it. As her state of mind being like it is, what it symbolises only needs a casual look or glance at it from Carol. As a symbol itself, the empty hut represents a pathway or tunnel to a dark kind of life one filled with despair, depression, anxiety, anger, fear, hate, and/or any other types of negative human qualities. Near the end of the film, this dark image is shown again, just after Carol kills the landlord with the cut throat razor. Her face is kept in shadow an oval of near black and is framed by her hair, which enhances this image further because it is blond. As I have implied before, Carol s understanding of life around her is distorted. She frequently sees cracks appearing in walls which can be read as cracks in her mind. In one instance, Carol sees a crack in the pavement on her way to work. She becomes engrossed by it, and sits down on a bench by it to simply look at it. The shot of the crack taken over her right shoulder shows that the crack runs between her feet. It then splits into two cracks, making the entire crack look like a Y . This suggests that it is used as a symbol to show two paths in life to take: the first being the good, realistic or sane path; the other being the bad, fantastic or insane path. Her boyfriend then finds her claiming ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 35. Abraham Harold Maslow and Self-Actualization Essay Abraham Harold Maslow and Self Actualization Abraham Harold Maslow was born on April 1, 1908 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the oldest of seven children born to his parents, who were uneducated Jewish immigrants from Russia. His parents, wanting the best for their children in the new world , pushed him hard in his academic studies. He was smart but shy, and remembered his childhood as being lonely and rather unhappy. He sought refuge in his books and studies. His father hoped he would study as a lawyer, and Maslow enrolled in the City College of New York. After three semesters at CCNY, he transferred to Cornell and then back to CCNY again. He married his first cousin Bertha, against his parent s wishes and moved to Wisconsin, where ... Maslow became the leader of the humanistic school of psychology that emerged in the 1950 s and 1960 s, which he referred to as the third force , beyond Freudian theory and behaviorism. Also during this period of his life, he came into contact with the many European intellectuals that were immigrating to the United States, Brooklyn in particular, people like Adler, Fromm, Horney, as well as several Gestalt and Freudian psychologists. In 1951, Maslow served as the chair of the psychology department at Brandeis for 10 years, where he met Kurt Goldstein, who introduced him to the idea of self actualization, and helped him begin his own theoretical work. It was also here that he began his crusade for a humanistic psychology, something ultimately much more important to him than his own theorizing. In, 1969 he became a resident fellow of the Laughlin Institute in California. A year later after several years of ill health he died of a heart attack on June 8th. One of the many interesting things that Maslow noticed, while early in his career working with monkeys, was that some needs take precedence over others. For example, if you are hungry and thirsty, you will tend to try and take care of the thirst first. After all, you can live without food for several weeks, but you can only live a few days without water. Maslow took ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Overfishing the World Big Fish Population Over Fishing the World Big Fish Population Insert your Name Here SCI275 Axia College of University of Phoenix The overfishing of our world s oceans is causing a depletion of some prize fish, such as tuna and swordfish, to the point that some scientists believe that 90% of these big fish populations have been fished out. Jeremy Jackson of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography published a study in 2001 in which he asserts that overfishing is more destructive than toxic pollution or degrading water quality (University of Phoenix, 2007). Dr. Daniel Pauly, Professor and Director of the University of British Columbia s Fisheries Centre, describes it as follow on The Overfishing.org (2007) website: The big fish, the bill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By putting this plan into practice, we will also resolve the other problems created by over fishing, as it effects not only the depleted fish population, but also the animals for which those fish are food of choice. Whales are turning to sea otters for food, rather than the sea lions and seals on which they normally feed, as those populations also decline. Over fishing has also caused the use, as stated earlier, of smaller mesh nets, increasing the amount of by catch that is caught in the nets. By catch is the seabirds, dolphins, sea turtles, and even whales that are also caught in the net as they drag it in, and are usually dumped back into the ocean, dead or dying. A drastic reduction in the amount of by catch will subsequently occur with the reinstating of the larger mesh nets. The management plan may cause fishermen to have to look into a second source of income for the first five to ten years, as the most severe restrictions are put into place, giving the fish populations can breed and repopulate, and a reassessment to be done by the scientific community charged with monitoring the big fish groups. Governments might be forced to subsidize the industry for this initial period, to help prevent illegal poaching by some fishermen who saw poaching as their only economic alternative. Consumers would have to reduce their use of fish, and would have to pay more for the fish they did purchase at the market during this period of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
