Frida Kahlo Healing Style
The process of healing can be long and torturous; therefore, a person has to determine the best way of
healing. Frida Kahlo was a painter, who used multiple moments in her life to influence her style of
painting. She was disabled as a child after being diagnosed with polio. She was also crippled at the
young age of 19 after a traffic accident and suffered permanent injuries. As a child, she learned that
physical activity was a way to heal from an illness. However, this was not an option for her due to her
injuries. She was able to find another outlet, such as art, to allow her body to heal. Frida Kahlo did not
let her injuries hinder her ability to heal and express herself.

What Is Vendor Performance Analysis
Introduction Vendor Performance analysis is the formal process of running supplier dealings,
measuring performance and driving continuous improvement with a company s strategic suppliers.
This tool was developed in order to measure, analyze, and manage an organizations performance with
effort to improve the relationships with suppliers, reduce cost, alleviate risk and drive continuous
improvement.
1.1 Need for the study The companies can get good quality of raw materials on time with a nominal
price by evaluating the vendors. The study is expected to help the companies to improve its output in
terms of quality, delivery time and cost in Vendor Management.

The Mortality Rate Of Sex Workers Essay
Regarding the mortality rate of sex workers, One study found that workplace murder risk is 51 times
greater [for prostitutes] than for the next most dangerous profession which is operating a liquor store
(Dir. J. K. Wasson and J. Wells). Because prostitution is ultimately seen as a consensual profession,
some may interpret this information with indifference, believing that the sex workers were willing
participants. More often than not, however, sex workers are being coerced into the industry by some
form of force; leading them to be exploited for physical and economic gain. In order to convince
someone that the prostitution industry influences the victimization of women, I would need to
counteract the notions endowed onto us by society that lead people to believe that prostitution is a fair
system. Ethnomethodology, Symbolic interaction, and conflict theory have contributed to the the false
impression of sex workers endorsed by the mainstream.
Ethnomethodology is the study of everyday actions of people as an expression of their reality. Every
reality contains five features that describe how one s perspective is maintained and occasionally
transformed. In order to change the reality of people who believe that sex workers are independently
engaging in prostitution, I would need to address the five features of reality. The first feature,
reflexivity, states that reality is maintained by the process of absorbing interactions and bending them
to fit one s incorrigible

An Internet Address For Example Essay
An Internet address (for example, http://sju.com/men/), usually consisting of the access protocol
(HTTP), the domain name(sju.com), and optionally the path to a file or resource residing on the server
where the domain name resides (nest). A common way to get to a Web site is to enter the URL of its
home page file in your Web browser s address line. However, any file within that Web site can also be
specified with a URL. Such a file might be any Web (HTML) page other than the home page, an
image file, or a program such as a common gateway interface application or Java applet. The URL
contains the name of the protocol to be used to access the file resource, a domain name that identifies
a specific computer on the Internet, and a pathname, a hierarchical description that specifies the
location of a file on that computer.
Importance of URLs for analysts: URLs are fundamental to the internet. And, while websites are
having their digital dominance chipped away by social media and mobile apps, URLs remain a core
component of the Language of Digital. The information generated by the cookie about your use of our
website including the IP address will be transmitted to and stored on servers. Analysts will use this
information for the purpose of evaluating your use of our website, compiling reports on website

Reasons For Fuzzy Sets
1 Introduction
1.1 Definition
With the development of culture, communication has become more and more important. In order to
understand each other , most people focus on how to express themselves efficiently, they use language
which is clear and certain. It seems that in this way the meaning can be expressed accurately, while
fuzzy words must be avoided. But a lot of facts have proved that the uses of fuzzy words is very
common in our daily communication.
There are a lot of scholars and linguists try to find out the definition of fuzziness. In 1965,the
American scientist L.A.Zadeh published his famous article Fuzzy Sets on the Information and Control
Magazine . He is the first to raise the theory of fuzzy sets , with the help of this theory, he studied the
fuzzy problems of different aspects. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are different reasons for fuzzy language, but most linguists can not search for the consensus. In
communications, we have to admit that the reasons for fuzzy language are complicated.
1.3.1 Objective Reasons
In objective world , different things, phenomena and features compose the continuum, it is hard to
have a clear borderlines. Since the nature has fuzzy phenomena, language can also be fuzzy. For
example, color and time in nature are continua, people have to divide them into several stages, in the
small hours , morning , noon , afternoon , dusk , evening , night and so on, there is a transition area
between two stages, which leads to the uncertainty of borderline. These words that can express this
category is also fuzzy.
This world is full of mysteries, which makes thoughts complicated and language fuzzy.
1.3.2 Subjective Reasons
People s cognition is based on the partition of things. Nationality s partition of things is related with
the features, cognition and the demand of communication. Different nationality have different way to
know and divide things, such as semantic field about

The Tragic Tragedy Of Yugoslavia
The Tragedy in Yugoslavia Imagine being in the middle of a bloody, tragic war; your relatives are
dying and your city being completely destroyed and reduced to rubble. This is what it was like for the
citizens living in Yugoslavia from 1992 to 1995 during the atrocious Yugoslav Genocide (Bosnian
Genocide). During this war for independence, over two hundred thousand people died and around two
million people fled from the region (Civil War). The Republic of Bosnia Herzegovina was the main
place of battle after they declared independence in 1992 (Blackburn). Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia
Herzegovina was where the worst fighting took place. The Yugoslav Genocide was mainly caused by
the political unease that had been rising in Yugoslavia. Although these political strains were the
primary cause for the mass genocide, they were not the only factor. Long standing rivalries between
three religions and an economic crisis that had been growing in Yugoslavia also played prominent
roles in inducing the war. Over time, numerous political tensions between the Serbians, Croatians and
Muslims generated violence, which negatively provoked different ethnic groups and eventually led to
a war. These three groups made up the majority of the Yugoslavian population. They had long
standing rivalries and tensions the had been steadily increasing over time. After World War I, the three
ethnic groups were forced together in the Kingdom of Serbs, Muslims, and Croats. The new kingdom
was renamed the

3. Male leaders put tasks before relationships Men are considered to set tasks before relationships,
while women on the other hand are more people oriented and focus more on establishing interpersonal
relationships. They are warmer and softer compared to their male counterparts.
4. Male leaders are more inclined to an authoritative style
Male leaders more frequently operate in mediums bound by hierarchy, status, rules and orders. In
contrast, women normally function with connectivity and closeness as paramount. For women, status
and hierarchy are not key and women are not predisposed to giving orders, but rather express
preferences and suggestions which are likely accepted.
5. Male leaders communicate to the point
Male leaders usually keep it short and sweet. No personal talk, just down to business and go. Female
leaders on the other hand talk on a more personal note while addressing subordinates.
According to Rolf Granér there are general scattered attitudes which make men and women function
differently (Granér, 1994). Those attitudes are the following:
Male properties | Female properties | Result oriented | Relation oriented | Logical | Intuitive |
Independent | Dependent | Focused on competition | Cooperativeness | Restrained | Emotional |
Investigating | Caring | Selfish | Understanding | Powerful | Soft | Bold | Careful |

The Economic Problem In The Film Blood Diamond
Every nation has a responsibility to its citizens to improve the economic, political and social well
being of its people. However, in the film Blood Diamond it is made clear that there is an exploitation
of the people in Sierra Leone. This economic problem is fueled by three main concepts; poverty,
production/resources and demand/supply. Through the analysis of the three main concepts it will be
shown how the economic problem was the result of each sub concept.
In Blood Diamond we see examples of both the working poor Solomon Vandy, and the absolute poor
those living in utter destitution. Vandy worked two jobs as a fisherman and a doorman, and even with
two jobs, it can be seen by his living situation that he has to work just to make ... Show more content

The process of producing the diamonds so they could be sold on the market involved many steps
which were illustrated in the movie, Blood Diamond. Smugglers like Archer would supply the RUF
with guns. The guns would be used by the RUF to intimidate the people of Sierra Leone into working
as laborers for them, we see this with Solomon and his son. These men would be forced to dig in the
water mines for hours a day searching for diamonds of all sizes. Then the diamonds are mixed with
other diamonds all around the world, mixing the illegal ones with the legal ones; this was explained in
the movie by Archer to Maggie. When the diamonds are mixed in with the others, no one can
determine for certainty where each originated from. It is then distributed to nations where they are
made into necklaces and bracelets, and no questions are asked. We see clearly in the movie how the
factors of production is used: land, labour, and entrepreneurship. Land is the resource where diamonds
are found, and in Blood Diamond we see how the RUF uses a form of alluvial mining and open pit
mining on the land. The men would find the diamonds by digging and shoveling in rocks that are
eroded by rivers and streams. The result of this is disastrous to the land because of the enormous
amount of soil that is removed to obtain the diamond. Also wasted rocks from the mining can leak
harmful substances back into the water. Blood Diamond did an admirable job at depicting the realities

Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion
This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general
formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined
through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate
complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to
Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice: 2Fe2+
(aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution.
The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on

Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox
titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron oxalate
salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis
by measuring the volume of titrant.
Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III)
oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and
Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part 1.
Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage
of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of
determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known
concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs.
concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part
3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was graphed
came out to be linear with an equation of:
Absorbance = 5.395 x 10^3(Fe^+2 Bipy) 0.0014.
The empirical formula that was determined was different from that of the true compound mentioned.
The empirical formula determined was:
K3[Fe(C2O4^ 2)3] 3 H2O
If had there been a better alternate method to determining the iron

Photo Observation
I think this photo is a good representation of space because the small hill in the bottom middle leads
your eye back and everything gets smaller towards the back. I dropped the horizon because I liked
how the skies take up almost half of the top because it shows movement and distance from one side of
the photo to the next. Originally, the photo was very dark so I increased the brightness and contrast at
different levels for the sky and the trees/houses respectively. I added a sepia photo filter to give a
warm effect, and dodged and burned the parts that were hit by the light and shadowed by it.

I wanted to make the blue gradient in the sky more noticeable so I fixed the hue and saturation of the
sky. I also dodged and burned the skies to make them stand out more. I added an orange photo filter
near where the sunlight diffused around the tree.
This picture best represents rule of thirds because the leaves are not in the middle of the picture, but
rather in the bottom right corner. I like how the leaves frame the sky on the bottom without covering
too much of it. I made the blue in the sky more contrasted and brighter. I also made the leaves redder
and with a paintbrush went over some parts with red to make them a bit brighter.
For this photograph, I had my mom stand under the tree because I really liked how the leaves
contrasted against her and the trees and house in the background. I made her skin softer and added a
layer mask to the leaves and her eyes so they stood out more clearly. I really liked how the couple
leaves in the front were so clear and I liked how the light hit them so I did not change anything about
them. Her pose in this photo gave off a very relaxed vibe. You can tell that she is thinking of
something but her neutral expression makes the photo even more

The Political Economy of South Korea
The Political Economy of South Korea:
A Necessary Transformation
I. Introduction:
In this paper, I will discuss the measures that the Republic of Korea s (addressed as South Korea from
here on out) government took in trying accomplishing economic development despite its several
economic and political upheavals. I will, specifically, review the economic growth and institutions
established in South Korea beginning in the 1950s, the process of democratization in South Korea, and
the effects that the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 had on South Korea. With the background
information of these factors, I will then delve into the importance of South Korea becoming an
economic power and the impact it has had on the United States of ... Show more content on

During the transition of forming a democratic nation, South Korea was not immediately successful in
creating economic growth. In order to achieve positive changes in the economy, democratization must
be institutionalized. It was difficult for the economy to stabilize since mature institutions that could
guarantee growth were not created. Rather, the government tried to characterize the economy through
fast changes and rapid economic growth, when the government should have taken the time to
institutionalize political and economic systems. It is the building of mature institutions that have
proven to be crucial in policy making and implementing a strong government that can maintain a
consistent economic growth rate. IV. The effects of the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 on South Korea:
The era of economic growth in South Korea came to a halt in 1997 due to the Asian Financial Crisis
that started in Thailand. By 1997, South Korean banks reached 24 percent of the gross national
product (GNP) in foreign debt; 58.1 percent of the total debt was short term debt. A number of the
chaebol conglomerates were not only bankrupt, but also collected an average debt equity ratio of
almost 400 percent.
There were several reasons to why the financial crisis hit South Korea so hard causing its worst
economic fall since the Korean War.

others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals. Now there are many different
communities I could fit in with. I could have done this on the Hispanic community, the Huntsville

teachers, mentors, friends, volunteers, and role models. East is a very large United States organization
that stands for Environmental and Spatial Technology. I have been in this program for a while now

Burgos is Hispanic city in the Land of Castles in Castile Leon in Spain. Its location, along the
Arlanzón River, was founded in 884 BC by Diego Rodríguez Porcelos. He was Count of Castillie after
the death of his father, Rodrigo Porcelos. He faced an Arab army in order to protect the border of Ebro

Salvation Military Research Paper
There are many opportunities to give back to people every day. It could be the time you give someone
or something they need to sustain them, and keep them going. The fundamentals of giving back are
often seen through charity work or even so much as donating a few items of clothing. I, however,
decided to devote my time to feeding the homeless through the Salvation Army. One day, while sitting
in church listening to our Pastor give a sermon about helping others I felt something inside me that
made me talk to my friend and her husband about something we could do to help others. While doing

Morality, Moral, And Morality
Introduction As part of leadership, morality has been seen as a fundamental part. Among the
leadership traits, morality is has been defined as a very significant reality in how the leaders would
interact. By extension, various definitions have been brought forward in the attempts to understand
morality. However, moral relativism has been defined as a theoretical approach under which what is
right and what is wrong is effectively studied, (Sergiovanni, 2013). Therefore, it is very difficult to
distinguish ethics from morality. Ethics and morality seem to augment each other in emphasizing the
guiding principles of life. Clearly, morality encompasses almost all aspects of the human life starting
from an individual level and extending to the societal level. In the same light, there is no agreed
definition of leadership. Gini (2011) in the article, Moral Leadership: An Overview, asserts that
leadership entails numerous points of view that seem to all be centered on the fact that a leader will
prioritize efforts so as to realize positive results for others. Thus, leadership is a social process that
involves positive influence between a leader and their followers (Gini, 2011). The fact that leaders
would have to be in touch with their followers; emphasizes should be morality. Moral leadership
entails a leader who is concerned with their principles regarding rightness or wrongness of their
human character (Sergiovanni, 2013). Moral leadership is important since its

Character Comparison Between Elaine Young And Keith Watson
Smith s use of costume and character change which juxtaposes the interviewees stories, aims to
elevate the disparities between their stories. The way in which she changes and switches characters
changes depending on the change that she s making, but for the most part the transitions are seamless.
One transition that is incredibly stark is the transition between Elaine Young and Henry Keith Watson.
Young s story of hiding from the riots in the Beverley Hills Hotel with a group of other people and the
reaction that she got from someone who saw her talk about it on tv read as disconnected from the story
because of the way that Young isolated herself from the realities of her surroundings. This contrasts
with Watson s ruminations on how it could have been him who was killed instead of Rodney King,
which Smith recounts while she throws things around the room. ... Show more content on

The stark contrast between these disparate experiences of the event is elevated by the differences in
Smith portrayals and the transition between, but what is unclear is whether or not the two portrayals
are entirely true to life. There is a certain element of fiction that is woven into Waston s narrative
because of the way in which the transition disrupts the previous narrative and ends in Waston falling
on the mattress and laughing.
The transition not only contrasts the disparate experiences, but also allows the movement and
performative violence of the second narrative to disrupt the stillness of the first. This disruption is
clearly symbolic of the disruption of the lives of people like Elaine Young and the function of Los
Angeles during those

Victor, Cornelius Agrippa, And Mary Shelly s Frankenstein...
In the book Frankenstein by Mary Shelly, Victor, Cornelius Agrippa, and M. Waldman influenced
Victor to follow a path in life full of science and experiment. Victor influenced himself to follow a
path in life full of science and experiment. At the beginning of the book, he wrote letters to his sister
explaining his journey and what he did for the past year. He discussed what he did on the ship. Victor
wrote, I voluntarily endured cold, famine, thirst, and want of sleep:... and devoted my nights to the
study of mathematics, the theory of medicine, and those branches of physical science from which a
naval adventure might derive the great practical advantage (2 3). Victor influenced himself to study
the branches of science and mathematics. He spent many hours searching and learning and then
applying that knowledge. Cornelius Agrippa also influenced victor yo follow a path in life full of
science and experiment. Victor was explaining how he went on a trip it was a stormy day so he spent
the day indoors. He found a book written by Cornelius Agrippa and he read it. Victor pointed out, I
opened it with apathy; the theory which he attempts to demonstrate, and the wonderful facts which he
relates soon changed this feeling into enthusiasm (20). Cornelius helped guide Victor to follow a path
in life with experiments. Finally, M. Waldman influenced Victor to follow a path in life full of science
and experiment. Victor had just started college and attended lectures from professor

To What Extent To Different Concentrations Of Eucalyptus
To what extent to different concentrations of Eucalyptus microcorys (E. microcorys) at 0g/mL,
0.25g/mL, 0.5g/mL, 0.75g/mL and 1g/mL have an allelopathic effect on the germination of Raphanus
sativus (R. sativus) seeds as measured by the number of seeds germinated within seven days? Ecology
has been the study of different interactions amongst organisms with the abiotic environment (Pimm
and Smith, 2007), examining how ecosystems have thrived upon these relations. Ecosystems have
depended on the continued availability of energy supplied ultimately by plants through the process of
photosynthesis. Plants have lived in association with each other from having occupied the same niche
in nature (Khan and Hussain, 1999). Numerous plants have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Although not every plant has contained allelopathic tendencies, these toxins can be located anywhere
on plants inclusive of roots, stems, bark, leaves, flowers and bearing fruits (Ferguson,
Rathinasabapathi and Chase, 2016). Nevertheless, there have been variations in allelochemical
concentrations within different parts of plants. For instance, eucalyptus foliar litter leachates have
been assessed to have been more toxic than bark leachates (Ferguson, Rathinasabapathi and Chase,
2016). Because of its invasive nature, there have been various applications of allelopathy within
horticultural practices. Particularly in the agriculture industry, specific allelopathic plants have been
researched to become potential natural, biodegradable herbicides against weeds, cultivators in crops
and growth regulators in large scale agroforestry manufacturing (Reza, 2016). A popular example of
this form of chemical warfare has been shown by the Black Walnut, a species native to eastern North
America. Conversely, in Australia, there have been numerous eucalyptus species have been
experimentally evaluated to have shown allelopathic behaviour towards other plant species, ordinarily
in volatilisation with shrouded vapourised volatile chemicals called terpenoids released within remote
outback bushlands (Külheim, Padovan, Hefer, Krause, Köllner, Myburg and Foley, 2015). Even from
a discernible observation, it has been evident in urbanised cities or municipalities that eucalyptus

Textual Analysis Of Dante s Inferno
Textual Analysis
After crossing the Phlegethon, Dante the Pilgrim and Virgil cross into a dark forest where there are no
green leaves, but rather black in color, no smooth branches, but twisted and entangled, no fruit, but
thorns of poison bloomed instead (Dante, Inferno 186). The forest is depicted this way to give a
picture of the barren nature of suicide. Dante sees the Harpies nesting and tearing at the trees
surrounding them, ....in Greek mythology the Harpies are storm winds which act as ministers of
Divine vengeance, mysteriously snatching offenders away out of the visible world (Dartmouth). The
Harpies are a depiction of how those who commit suicide snatch themselves away from the visible
world. He hears wails of torment within the woods all around him and Dante is confused by the noise
and its origin. He first thinks that the yelling comes from individuals hiding behind the trees, but
learns the truth once prompted by Virgil to break a branch. Dante tears off a piece of a great
thornbush. The emphasis on the size of the bush may be a way to signify the importance of the man
entrapped inside it, possibly like Medieval art in which artists stress the importance of a specific
character by making it larger (Dartmouth). To Dante s surprise, blood began to spew out of the branch,
and the tree starts to speak directly to the Pilgrim. This tree, named Pier, committed suicide after being
accused of treason. Pier continues to swear on the new roots of this tree that

Journalistic Dishonesty In Dante s Inferno
In her popular translation of Dante s Inferno, English writer Dorothy Sayers explains that Bolgia 9 in
the eighth circle of hell is reserved for sowers of discord, those who are ready to rip up the whole
fabric of society to gratify a sectional egotism. If Dante had assigned fraudulent journalists a place in
hell melodramatic as it is to think about he probably would have put them in Bolgia 9. Any intentional
inaccuracy in a story is a betrayal of the public s trust and is inexcusable for a professional whose job
it is to report the truth; as Walter Lippmann once affirmed, There can be no higher law in journalism
than to tell the truth and to shame the devil. But just as Dante recognized in concocting his orderly
progression of torment that there are shades of wrongness, so too are some fraudulent stories are more
deserving of condemnation than others. Below, I will examine five cases of journalistic dishonesty
Janet Cooke s Jimmy s World in The Washington Post ( The Post ), Jayson Blair s reporting for The
New York Times ( The Times ), Mike Daisey s feature on This American Life ( TAL ), Sabrina Erdely
s A Rape on Campus in Rolling Stone Magazine (Rolling Stone), and Stephen Glass s stories for The
New Republic and argue that the offences in each vary in pervasiveness, level of duplicity, and impact
on society. I will then scrutinize the responses of each publisher, evaluating the timeliness and
approach of each.

Over two centuries ago, a document was written that announced the independence of the thirteen
colonies from Great Britain. That document, The Declaration of Independence, indicated that a new
country was born, oppression in the New World would come to an end and new found individual
freedoms for citizens of America would become a reality. Thomas Jefferson ideals expressed in The
Declaration of Independence was a stepping stone to the foundation of America. Many of Jefferson s

shortly thereafter. The 21st century would bring a new surge towards equal rights for women. Issues
such as abortion and reproductive rights, wage rights and discrimination based on gender, are just a
few of the issues women are facing in the 21st century. The National Organization for Women reports
women should have access reproductive health and family planning services, including abortion.
Abolishing the ability for women to access those health services violates a fundamental human right

contraceptive products leads to an estimated 76 million unplanned pregnancies worldwide, according
to the U.N. Population Fund (2005). Not granting these services to women leaves them at a huge risk.

RELIGIOUS ASPECT OF PURITANISM In Mrs. Mary Rowlandson s Narrative of the Captivity and
Restoration of Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, religious aspects of puritanism are evident in a number of
instances throughout the narrative. Puritanism in this case refers to the strong beliefs that are evident
in the narration pertaining to religion. The narrator, Mrs. Mary Rowlandson, has strong religious
beliefs. A good example of a religious aspect of puritanism is Mrs. Mary Rowlandson s belief in the
power of God to protect. She argues out that in every single happening, God is concerned and He is
the one who shields his people from any form of evil or danger. In the third remove, she says that the

The Himalayas region is located between the plains of the Indian subcontinent and the Tibetan
Plateau. This region is the home to the highest peak on Earth, Mt. Everest, including a series of peaks
that is above 8,000 meters in altitude. Making the Himalayas one of the most popular regions for
tourist activities. The surrounding countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bhutan, China, India and
Nepal benefit from the tourist activities in the Himalayas. For example, the tourism industry alone in
Nepal contributes 9.4% to the total gross domestic product (GDP) in 2012, and the sector employs
8.2% of total employment, which is approximately 1.25 millions of jobs (World Travel Tourism
Council 2013).

The Issue Of Capital Punishment
Rough Draft Essay Gaven D. Crosby Pennsylvania College of Technology In this paper, I will write
on the topic of capital punishment, more specifically what to do if someone has been wrongfully
executed. I will speak about what circumstances I feel should warrant a case be reopened and how to
make it right, if it is determined that someone has been wrongfully put to death for a crime they did
not commit. I will also discuss reparations for the families of the wrongfully executed. I will also
discuss who I feel should be handling these types of cases. Have you ever heard about someone being
wrongfully executed? You probably haven t. It doesn t happen often and if it does, it is usually not
highly publicized. There have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Some examples of wrongful execution cases are Leo Jones, Timothy Evans, Claude Jones, Larry
Griffin, David Spence, and these are just a few. All of these people were put to death because of either
hastiness, lack of technology, lack of will to find the truth, corruption and politics, or general human
error. While only the defendant was killed in these cases, it hurt many others. The parents of the
convicted, the spouses of the convicted, the children of the convicted, the friends of the convicted and
in all the reputation of the family of the convicted. This is why we need to ensure that we have 100%
accuracy and know all of the facts before putting someone to death. While I do feel that we need to
put a lot of effort into ensuring accuracy prior to death, I do not feel as though the same amount
should be applied to cases after execution. I believe that if we make sure we are convicting the right
person before we execute them, then we shouldn t have to put as much effort into re opening cases of
the executed. I do however feel that there are certain cases that warrant a case be re opened. I feel that
cases where there is a suspicion that the wrong person was executed, should be opened. To elaborate
on that if police are ever unsure that the correct person was executed, there case needs to be re opened.
This can include cases where new evidence is discovered; cases where

  • 4. The Mortality Rate Of Sex Workers Essay Regarding the mortality rate of sex workers, One study found that workplace murder risk is 51 times greater [for prostitutes] than for the next most dangerous profession which is operating a liquor store (Dir. J. K. Wasson and J. Wells). Because prostitution is ultimately seen as a consensual profession, some may interpret this information with indifference, believing that the sex workers were willing participants. More often than not, however, sex workers are being coerced into the industry by some form of force; leading them to be exploited for physical and economic gain. In order to convince someone that the prostitution industry influences the victimization of women, I would need to counteract the notions endowed onto us by society that lead people to believe that prostitution is a fair system. Ethnomethodology, Symbolic interaction, and conflict theory have contributed to the the false impression of sex workers endorsed by the mainstream. Ethnomethodology is the study of everyday actions of people as an expression of their reality. Every reality contains five features that describe how one s perspective is maintained and occasionally transformed. In order to change the reality of people who believe that sex workers are independently engaging in prostitution, I would need to address the five features of reality. The first feature, reflexivity, states that reality is maintained by the process of absorbing interactions and bending them to fit one s incorrigible ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

An Internet Address For Example Essay An Internet address (for example, http://sju.com/men/), usually consisting of the access protocol (HTTP), the domain name(sju.com), and optionally the path to a file or resource residing on the server where the domain name resides (nest). A common way to get to a Web site is to enter the URL of its home page file in your Web browser s address line. However, any file within that Web site can also be specified with a URL. Such a file might be any Web (HTML) page other than the home page, an image file, or a program such as a common gateway interface application or Java applet. The URL contains the name of the protocol to be used to access the file resource, a domain name that identifies a specific computer on the Internet, and a pathname, a hierarchical description that specifies the location of a file on that computer. Importance of URLs for analysts: URLs are fundamental to the internet. In order to understand each other , most people focus on how to express themselves efficiently, they use language which is clear and certain. It seems that in this way the meaning can be expressed accurately, while fuzzy words must be avoided. But a lot of facts have proved that the uses of fuzzy words is very common in our daily communication. There are a lot of scholars and linguists try to find out the definition of fuzziness. In 1965,the American scientist L.A.Zadeh published his famous article Fuzzy Sets on the Information and Control Magazine . In communications, we have to admit that the reasons for fuzzy language are complicated. 1.3.1 Objective Reasons In objective world , different things, phenomena and features compose the continuum, it is hard to have a clear borderlines. Since the nature has fuzzy phenomena, language can also be fuzzy. For example, color and time in nature are continua, people have to divide them into several stages, in the small hours , morning , noon , afternoon , dusk , evening , night and so on, there is a transition area between two stages, which leads to the uncertainty of borderline. These words that can express this category is also fuzzy. This world is full of mysteries, which makes thoughts complicated and language fuzzy. 1.3.2 Subjective Reasons People s cognition is based on the partition of things. The Tragic Tragedy Of Yugoslavia The Tragedy in Yugoslavia Imagine being in the middle of a bloody, tragic war; your relatives are dying and your city being completely destroyed and reduced to rubble. This is what it was like for the citizens living in Yugoslavia from 1992 to 1995 during the atrocious Yugoslav Genocide (Bosnian Genocide). During this war for independence, over two hundred thousand people died and around two million people fled from the region (Civil War). The Republic of Bosnia Herzegovina was the main place of battle after they declared independence in 1992 (Blackburn). Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia Herzegovina was where the worst fighting took place. The Yugoslav Genocide was mainly caused by the political unease that had been rising in Yugoslavia. Although these political strains were the primary cause for the mass genocide, they were not the only factor. Long standing rivalries between three religions and an economic crisis that had been growing in Yugoslavia also played prominent roles in inducing the war. Over time, numerous political tensions between the Serbians, Croatians and Muslims generated violence, which negatively provoked different ethnic groups and eventually led to a war. These three groups made up the majority of the Yugoslavian population. They had long standing rivalries and tensions the had been steadily increasing over time. Male leaders are more inclined to an authoritative style Male leaders more frequently operate in mediums bound by hierarchy, status, rules and orders. In contrast, women normally function with connectivity and closeness as paramount. For women, status and hierarchy are not key and women are not predisposed to giving orders, but rather express preferences and suggestions which are likely accepted. 5. Male leaders communicate to the point Male leaders usually keep it short and sweet. No personal talk, just down to business and go. This economic problem is fueled by three main concepts; poverty, production/resources and demand/supply. Through the analysis of the three main concepts it will be shown how the economic problem was the result of each sub concept. In Blood Diamond we see examples of both the working poor Solomon Vandy, and the absolute poor those living in utter destitution. The process of producing the diamonds so they could be sold on the market involved many steps which were illustrated in the movie, Blood Diamond. Smugglers like Archer would supply the RUF with guns. The guns would be used by the RUF to intimidate the people of Sierra Leone into working as laborers for them, we see this with Solomon and his son. These men would be forced to dig in the water mines for hours a day searching for diamonds of all sizes. Then the diamonds are mixed with other diamonds all around the world, mixing the illegal ones with the legal ones; this was explained in the movie by Archer to Maggie. When the diamonds are mixed in with the others, no one can determine for certainty where each originated from. It is then distributed to nations where they are made into necklaces and bracelets, and no questions are asked. We see clearly in the movie how the factors of production is used: land, labour, and entrepreneurship. Land is the resource where diamonds are found, and in Blood Diamond we see how the RUF uses a form of alluvial mining and open pit mining on the land. The men would find the diamonds by digging and shoveling in rocks that are eroded by rivers and streams. The result of this is disastrous to the land because of the enormous amount of soil that is removed to obtain the diamond. Also wasted rocks from the mining can leak harmful substances back into the water. Blood Diamond did an admirable job at depicting the realities of how ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Oxalate Lab Essay Dr. Hjorth Gustin Chemistry 201 Lab November 8th, 2010 Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice: 2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution. The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III) oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part 1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs. concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part 3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was graphed

In order to achieve positive changes in the economy, democratization must be institutionalized. It was difficult for the economy to stabilize since mature institutions that could guarantee growth were not created. Rather, the government tried to characterize the economy through fast changes and rapid economic growth, when the government should have taken the time to institutionalize political and economic systems. It is the building of mature institutions that have proven to be crucial in policy making and implementing a strong government that can maintain a consistent economic growth rate. IV. The effects of the Asian Financial Crisis of 1997 on South Korea: The era of economic growth in South Korea came to a halt in 1997 due to the Asian Financial Crisis that started in Thailand. • 21. Morality, Moral, And Morality Introduction As part of leadership, morality has been seen as a fundamental part. Among the leadership traits, morality is has been defined as a very significant reality in how the leaders would interact. By extension, various definitions have been brought forward in the attempts to understand morality. However, moral relativism has been defined as a theoretical approach under which what is right and what is wrong is effectively studied, (Sergiovanni, 2013). Therefore, it is very difficult to distinguish ethics from morality. Ethics and morality seem to augment each other in emphasizing the guiding principles of life. Clearly, morality encompasses almost all aspects of the human life starting from an individual level and extending to the societal level. In the same light, there is no agreed definition of leadership. Gini (2011) in the article, Moral Leadership: An Overview, asserts that leadership entails numerous points of view that seem to all be centered on the fact that a leader will prioritize efforts so as to realize positive results for others. Thus, leadership is a social process that involves positive influence between a leader and their followers (Gini, 2011). The fact that leaders would have to be in touch with their followers; emphasizes should be morality. Moral leadership entails a leader who is concerned with their principles regarding rightness or wrongness of their human character (Sergiovanni, 2013). Moral leadership is important since its ... At the beginning of the book, he wrote letters to his sister explaining his journey and what he did for the past year. He discussed what he did on the ship. Victor wrote, I voluntarily endured cold, famine, thirst, and want of sleep:... and devoted my nights to the study of mathematics, the theory of medicine, and those branches of physical science from which a naval adventure might derive the great practical advantage (2 3). Victor influenced himself to study the branches of science and mathematics. He spent many hours searching and learning and then applying that knowledge. Cornelius Agrippa also influenced victor yo follow a path in life full of science and experiment. Victor was explaining how he went on a trip it was a stormy day so he spent the day indoors. He found a book written by Cornelius Agrippa and he read it. Victor pointed out, I opened it with apathy; the theory which he attempts to demonstrate, and the wonderful facts which he relates soon changed this feeling into enthusiasm (20). Cornelius helped guide Victor to follow a path in life with experiments. Finally, M. Waldman influenced Victor to follow a path in life full of science and experiment. • 25. To What Extent To Different Concentrations Of Eucalyptus To what extent to different concentrations of Eucalyptus microcorys (E. microcorys) at 0g/mL, 0.25g/mL, 0.5g/mL, 0.75g/mL and 1g/mL have an allelopathic effect on the germination of Raphanus sativus (R. sativus) seeds as measured by the number of seeds germinated within seven days? Ecology has been the study of different interactions amongst organisms with the abiotic environment (Pimm and Smith, 2007), examining how ecosystems have thrived upon these relations. Ecosystems have depended on the continued availability of energy supplied ultimately by plants through the process of photosynthesis. Plants have lived in association with each other from having occupied the same niche in nature (Khan and Hussain, 1999). Numerous plants have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although not every plant has contained allelopathic tendencies, these toxins can be located anywhere on plants inclusive of roots, stems, bark, leaves, flowers and bearing fruits (Ferguson, Rathinasabapathi and Chase, 2016). Nevertheless, there have been variations in allelochemical concentrations within different parts of plants. For instance, eucalyptus foliar litter leachates have been assessed to have been more toxic than bark leachates (Ferguson, Rathinasabapathi and Chase, 2016). Because of its invasive nature, there have been various applications of allelopathy within horticultural practices. Particularly in the agriculture industry, specific allelopathic plants have been researched to become potential natural, biodegradable herbicides against weeds, cultivators in crops and growth regulators in large scale agroforestry manufacturing (Reza, 2016). A popular example of this form of chemical warfare has been shown by the Black Walnut, a species native to eastern North America. Conversely, in Australia, there have been numerous eucalyptus species have been experimentally evaluated to have shown allelopathic behaviour towards other plant species, ordinarily in volatilisation with shrouded vapourised volatile chemicals called terpenoids released within remote outback bushlands (Külheim, Padovan, Hefer, Krause, Köllner, Myburg and Foley, 2015). Even from a discernible observation, it has been evident in urbanised cities or municipalities that eucalyptus ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Textual Analysis Of Dante s Inferno Textual Analysis After crossing the Phlegethon, Dante the Pilgrim and Virgil cross into a dark forest where there are no green leaves, but rather black in color, no smooth branches, but twisted and entangled, no fruit, but thorns of poison bloomed instead (Dante, Inferno 186). The forest is depicted this way to give a picture of the barren nature of suicide. Dante sees the Harpies nesting and tearing at the trees surrounding them, ....in Greek mythology the Harpies are storm winds which act as ministers of Divine vengeance, mysteriously snatching offenders away out of the visible world (Dartmouth). The Harpies are a depiction of how those who commit suicide snatch themselves away from the visible world. He hears wails of torment within the woods all around him and Dante is confused by the noise and its origin. He first thinks that the yelling comes from individuals hiding behind the trees, but learns the truth once prompted by Virgil to break a branch. Dante tears off a piece of a great thornbush. The emphasis on the size of the bush may be a way to signify the importance of the man entrapped inside it, possibly like Medieval art in which artists stress the importance of a specific character by making it larger (Dartmouth). To Dante s surprise, blood began to spew out of the branch, and the tree starts to speak directly to the Pilgrim. This tree, named Pier, committed suicide after being accused of treason. Pier continues to swear on the new roots of this tree that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Journalistic Dishonesty In Dante s Inferno In her popular translation of Dante s Inferno, English writer Dorothy Sayers explains that Bolgia 9 in the eighth circle of hell is reserved for sowers of discord, those who are ready to rip up the whole fabric of society to gratify a sectional egotism. If Dante had assigned fraudulent journalists a place in hell melodramatic as it is to think about he probably would have put them in Bolgia 9. Any intentional inaccuracy in a story is a betrayal of the public s trust and is inexcusable for a professional whose job it is to report the truth; as Walter Lippmann once affirmed, There can be no higher law in journalism than to tell the truth and to shame the devil. But just as Dante recognized in concocting his orderly progression of torment that there are shades of wrongness, so too are some fraudulent stories are more deserving of condemnation than others. Below, I will examine five cases of journalistic dishonesty Janet Cooke s Jimmy s World in The Washington Post ( The Post ), Jayson Blair s reporting for The New York Times ( The Times ), Mike Daisey s feature on This American Life ( TAL ), Sabrina Erdely s A Rape on Campus in Rolling Stone Magazine (Rolling Stone), and Stephen Glass s stories for The New Republic and argue that the offences in each vary in pervasiveness, level of duplicity, and impact on society. I will then scrutinize the responses of each publisher, evaluating the timeliness and approach of each. The Journalists Although a one case of fraud is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 32. The Issue Of Capital Punishment Rough Draft Essay Gaven D. Crosby Pennsylvania College of Technology In this paper, I will write on the topic of capital punishment, more specifically what to do if someone has been wrongfully executed. I will speak about what circumstances I feel should warrant a case be reopened and how to make it right, if it is determined that someone has been wrongfully put to death for a crime they did not commit. I will also discuss reparations for the families of the wrongfully executed. I will also discuss who I feel should be handling these types of cases. Have you ever heard about someone being wrongfully executed? You probably haven t. It doesn t happen often and if it does, it is usually not highly publicized. There have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Some examples of wrongful execution cases are Leo Jones, Timothy Evans, Claude Jones, Larry Griffin, David Spence, and these are just a few. All of these people were put to death because of either hastiness, lack of technology, lack of will to find the truth, corruption and politics, or general human error. While only the defendant was killed in these cases, it hurt many others. The parents of the convicted, the spouses of the convicted, the children of the convicted, the friends of the convicted and in all the reputation of the family of the convicted. This is why we need to ensure that we have 100% accuracy and know all of the facts before putting someone to death. While I do feel that we need to put a lot of effort into ensuring accuracy prior to death, I do not feel as though the same amount should be applied to cases after execution. I believe that if we make sure we are convicting the right person before we execute them, then we shouldn t have to put as much effort into re opening cases of the executed. I do however feel that there are certain cases that warrant a case be re opened. I feel that cases where there is a suspicion that the wrong person was executed, should be opened. To elaborate on that if police are ever unsure that the correct person was executed, there case needs to be re opened. This can include cases where new evidence is discovered; cases where ...
