2. Canadian United States Foreign Policy
Canadian United States Foreign Policy, Consistent and Thriving I hypothesize that the current US
policy with Canada makes sense and is beneficial to both countries. Our current foreign policies with
Canada include, working in partnerships within, at, and away from our borders to achieve enhanced
security and accelerate the legitimate flow of people, goods, and services between our two countries.
Our relationship with Canada, I would consider to be strong. The fact that we have a very large,
extensive border between our countries, a solid relationship is almost a necessity. Eve with outr
differences with regards to boundaries and oil reserve rights, the communications between our country
are strong and I would classify the United States relationship with Canada and strong and thriving, but
ore so consistent. The relationship between the US and Canada actually thrives off of each other, for
example, Canada, absorbs 43% of U.S. exports, and half of their energy imports come from the
Western Hemisphere. (US Dept. of State 2013) With this, I would also go to say that sharing a border
with shared values and beliefs in our economic structure are key to successful foreign relations. With
strong relations with our neighboring country, we can rely on each other in times of crisis and in
peace. For example, Canada is the US s largest foreign supplier of energy, including oil, gas, uranium,
and electric power. (CIA Factbook) Without these natural resources being imported,

Interview Skills, Resumes, and Cover Letters
We discussed resume and cover letter tips and the importance of proofreading and modifying resumes
and cover letters before submitting them to an employer. We also discussed how to prepare for an
interview. Interviewees need to think of answers to commonly asked questions, work on maintaining
confidence and clarity when speaking, and prepare questions for the interviewer. I learned that my
resume is my first opportunity to introduce myself to a potential employer. Before an employer ever
meets me in person for an interview, the employer or a human resource personnel person dissects
everything that I state on my resume to form an opinion about who I am or what I can offer. Therefore,

Younger versus Older Workers
In class, we discussed the rift that exists between younger and older workers in the workforce.
Employers are hiring more young workers that possess fresh ideas and technical skills that older
workers lack. Older workers often are content and are reluctant to learn new practices or skills.
I learned that employers also employ younger workers because employers can pay younger workers
less than older workers. Although there is rift between two generations of workers in the workforce
both generations of workers have knowledge beneficial to the other generation. Young workers are
needed to share their technical knowledge while older workers are needed to share their tried and true
knowledge of the industry.

4. The Tort Of Negligence By Percy L Winfield
In order to establish a claim in the tort of negligence, according to Percy H Winfield[1] Tortious
liability arises from the breach of a duty primarily fixed by the law: such duty is towards persons
generally and its breach is redressible by an action for liquidated damages . It is for Grace as the
claimant where falls the burden of proof, to demonstrate that the negligence of her physical injury was
due to the tortious liability of the Police, Ambulance Service, CURO and the Heath Authority as the
defendants in order to claim damages. Furthermore will look at whether tortious liability can arise
towards Brian as an occupier for his negligence which resulted in the firemen s deaths.
In negligence the defendant is only liable when they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Likewise police had no duty to arrive sooner after Brian made the call in order to respond to the
potential threat of an intruder.
In comparison to Police and fire services, Lord Woolf suggested in Kent v Griffiths[9] arguments
based on public policy are much weaker in the case of ambulance service than they are in the case of
police or the fire service . Leading case which portrays the duty of care for the ambulance services
towards a patient in their care, as they accepted the claimants call they become a patient which means
they have a duty to them at that moment. Although ambulance owes a duty of care towards Grace
needs to determine if delay was breach of failure to take reasonable care. In the judgment Mr Justice
Turner said: In the absence of any reasonable excuse for this delay I am driven to conclude that the
delay was culpable breached duty as no reasonable excuse for the delay. However from Lord Woolf s
judgement also in kent:[10] ... resources, whether in the provision of sufficient drivers or attendants,
different situations would apply . The ambulance has no duty if not enough resources at their disposal
during accident, due to high demand for ambulances at that time during Grace s accident means that
they are not liable. A precedent establishing dual duty of care towards hospital

5. Live Migration Is The Process Of Moving A Running Virtual...
INTRODUCTION Live migration is the process of moving a running virtual machine or an
application between different physical machines without disconnecting the client/application.
Memory, storage and network connectivity of the virtual machine is transferred from the original to
the destination host machine.
VM Memory migration
The Two techniques for moving the memory state of virtual machine from the source to destination
are: 1.pre copy memory migration and 2.post copy memory migration.
Pre copy memory migration
Warm up phase
The Hypervisor copies all the memory pages from source to destination while the VM is still running
on the source. If some memory pages change or become dirty when the process is going on, they will
be re copied until the rate of re copied pages is not less than page dirtying rate.
Stop and copy phase
After the warm up phase, the VM will be stopped on the original host and the remaining dirty pages
will be copied to the destination, and the VM will be resumed on the destination. The time between
stopping the VM on the original host and resuming it on destination is called down time ,which ranges
from a few milliseconds to seconds according to the memory size and applications running on the
VM.
Post copy memory migration
Post copy VM migration is done by suspending the VM at the source and a minimal subset of the
execution state of the VM (CPU state, registers and non pageable memory) is transferred to the target.
. The project will make

Growing up on the family farm, riding with Dad or Grandpa in the combine, tractors, and trucks was
my brothers and my favorite thing to do. We thought, the only thing that could get better is if we could
operate the equipment just like them. When I was twelve years old, I was given the job of chopping
corn stalks on a farm that wasn t next to home. Stalk chopping (or shredding) is similar to mowing the
lawn, used for breaking down corn stalk residue, using a full size tractor with a PTO driven mower
attachment. All went well until one afternoon when an accident occurred. The farm I was stalk
chopping is one hundred and eighteen acres about ten miles directly east of our home farm. These

mistake. I continued where I left off on the south forty while Jake used the disk and cultivated
everything I had finished ahead of him. Without further incident, I finished the farm that Sunday night,
leaving the tractor and flail chopper at the entrance of the field to be moved to the next farm in the
morning. Farming certainly has some exciting moments, and an accident is sometimes waiting around

10. Devices Should Be Taught In Schools Essay
Would the teachers of SJNCS rather have their students learn in a creative and fun way or have them
falling asleep in class? The best way and most effective way is having us the students bring our own
devices to school. We can learn and still have fun using our phones, tablets, laptops, and even kindles.
The students of St. John Neumann Catholic School should be able to bring their own devices to
school.
First of all, students can read on their devices. Using ebooks we get so much more options to choose
from ranges of academic and popular books. Having so many options we can read for A.R easily.
Every 4 weeks the students have to get 10 or more points, and sometimes it s hard finding the right
book in the school library. Also most times we can t even go to the library because it s either not open,
we have class, or we have too much to do in study to be able to go. In other words, our devices let us
have more varied book options and an easier access to books. Another way we can use our devices to
read is using our devices to read book assignments that the teachers assign. Recently, we have been
given short stories to read in our textbook, but most times these short stories are actually long. ...

The Key to a Healthier Country
Sin taxes are defined as an excise tax placed on any good or behavior deemed to be detrimental to
individuals and society. These include taxes on tobacco, alcohol, gambling, lotteries, prostitution, and
pornography. Recently this list has been expanded to include unhealthy foods, beverages and legalized
drug use. The author of Resolution: Sin Taxes are Just, Scott Pettit states that,
In the United States, they were first introduced during the Civil War, not as a way to deter sinful
behavior but as a way to raise revenue for the war effort. This strategy was used raise additional
revenue in subsequent wars, always being repealed after the war had ended. This changed after World
War II, when the Federal Government, in addition to individual states, saw sin taxes as a great way to
raise revenue. The public message was changed from temporary taxes to sin deterrence. Many
governments around the world have used this strategy (1).

12. Pros And Cons Of Human Trafficking
Human trafficking has become one and the same with prostitution and sex work. However human
trafficking engulfs other types such as labor trafficking which involves the obtaining, harboring,
recruitment, and transportation of people for labor or services. These are the two types most thought of
but there are eight classifications of human trafficking, and they include: forced labor, sex trafficking,
bonded labor, debt bondage among migrants, involuntary domestic servitude, forced child soldiers,
and child sex trafficking (Dalton, 2013). These types of human trafficking are modern day slavery and
they are not an isolated problem, it occurs all over the world and generates billions of dollars in
revenue. Over the past decade the internet has given growth and expansion to this issue of human
trafficking through websites such as Backpage and Craigslist. These are just a few of the sites used in
the solicitation of humans.
The issue has become whether we can hold these third parties criminally liable in these cases. The
Communication Decency Act attempts to regulate indecent and obscene material on the internet but
Section 230 of this Act states that operators of internet service cannot be held liable for the words third
parties the utilize their services. This has only been denied when the website actually had a part in the
design and publication of the advertisements used in human trafficking. Organizations have banned

Willy Loman as Tragic Hero in Death of a Salesman
Willy Loman, the troubled father and husband in Arthur Miller s Death of a Salesman, can be
classified as a tragic hero, as defined by Aristotle in his work, Poetics.
In Aristotle s Poetics, a tragic hero was defined as one who falls from grace into a state of extreme
despair. Willy, as we are introduced to him, becomes increasingly miserable as he progresses from a
dedicated, loving father, though not without flaws, into a suicidal, delusional man. The definition of a
tragic hero, as stated in Poetics, also describes a person who is influential and is of significance to
others. Though, in actuality, Willy Loman may not possess these characteristics, he perceives himself

Willy s relationship with Biff and Happy also becomes strained throughout their lives. Since Biff was
the older son and football star he made his father proud, and Happy was left without the praise that he
needed and deserved, as he was always second best. Biff also was the one who caught his father
having an affair with a woman in Boston, causing friction between himself and Willy. More
importantly, Biff is extremely disturbed by his father s later behavior, including participating in
imaginary conversations and reacting to his memories as though they were happening in the present.
Willy s job also falls apart from the beginning of the play towards the end. Willy had been making
enough money to support his family, but his unwillingness to learn new sales techniques or utilize
modern technology resulted in lackluster sales and the loss of his job. Willy s house had a mortgage
until his death, implying that the family was not even secure in their own home. Finally, the family
car, a symbol of pride within the Loman household, was destroyed when Willy committed suicide.
This was the last example of Willy s destruction of all that was once important to him. Willy Loman,
in this regard, follows Aristotle s suggestion that the tragic hero has ...a change of fortune... from
prosperity to misfortune.... (Aristotle,1303)

ABSTRACT
Invasive procedures including chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis in sex linked diseases
increase the risk of fetal loss. Therefore, Noninvasive fetal gender determination using cell free fetal
DNA (cffDNA) in maternal plasma may be promising. Fifty pregnant women with gestational age
between sixth to tenth weeks were included. cffDNA were extracted from maternal plasma and
amplified by real time PCR and conventional PCR for detection of SRY, DYS14 and DAZ genes as
specific genetic markers for male bearing pregnancies. In general, sensitivity and specificity of real
time PCR was better than conventional PCR. However, sensitivity of DYS14 gene and specificity of
SRY gene by real time PCR was equal to those of conventional PCR. Sensitivity of DYS14 gene was
the highest and sensitivity of SRY gene was the lowest. However, combination of the three Y
chromosome sequences in the diagnosis increased the test accuracy, which is suitable for clinical
application.

21. Characteristics Of Naloxone Hydrochloride
Naloxone Hydrochloride (Narcan, Evzio, Nalone, Narcanti, Narcotan, Prenoxad Injection,)
Classification and Pharmacodynamics. Naloxone is a competitive narcotic receptor antagonist that is
used to prevent or promptly reverse the adverse effects of narcotics in overdose including sedation,
hypotension, euphoria, peripheral vasodilation, but most importantly, respiratory depression. It is also
used to correct some of the dysphoric and psychotomimetic effects of mixed opioid agonist antagonist
analgesics (i.e. Pentazocine, Nalbuphine or Buprenorphine). It´s an opioid antagonist called pure
because does not possess the agonistic effects characteristic of other narcotic antagonists, in other
words, it won t produce respiratory depression, psychotomimetic effects, pupillary constriction or
dependence. This is essentially why it´s considered a safe drug. Naloxone works by competing for
opioid receptors in the central nervous system (CNS), displaces opioid molecules from them and
finally binds to them. Primarily, naloxone targets the mu receptors (which are primarily responsible
for analgesic effects, as well as respiratory depression and opioid dependence) but it also blocks kappa
and gamma receptors, even though it has a lower affinity for them. Naloxone exhibits no functional
pharmacological effects when administered to patients who did not use opioids. On the other hand, it
could precipitate acute withdrawal symptoms in chronic opioid users, provoking, in many cases, a

22. My High School Experience
I live in a small town named Tawau in the Malaysian state of Sabah but I spent most of my high
school years in the state capital Kota Kinabalu (KK). My high school experience had been a total
mess. Partly because my family moved from one city after another and partly because all three of my
high school practices the same kind of education system.
Like all Malaysian , I took the national high school entry exam Pentaksiran Tingkatan Tiga (PT3
examination). In addition, I am required to take an additional exam the Unified Examination
Certificate (UEC) because I went to an academically rigorous Chinese Independent School in KK. The
purpose of these two examinations is to divide student into two large groups Science and Art.
Competition among peers began, only those students who are in the top 20% can enter the Science
class. I scored well in both examination and managed to get into the Science class. However, my dad
was not satisfied with the current situation. He decided that he is going to race with time and push me
and my sister, Grace one year ahead of others. His word was Now, money can buy time . It stands to
reason of his actions because he knew that college tuition fee is increasing every year. He overheard
from one of my relatives that a private school run by a famous Chinese tutor Mr. Lim could put his
plan into work despite paying a more expensive school fee.

b) People: people refers to human resource. Sustainable business ensures that fair practices are
practiced in the organization towards employees. This can be done by providing fair wages to
employees, providing job security, providing safe environment to work etc.
c) Profit: every business main motto is to make profit. Company also should make sure that profits are
earned in compliance with people and planet. This would fetch more profit for the company in long
run.
Company is not only measured in the terms of profit but also measured environmentally and socially.
Triple bottom line concept is not just limited to shareholders, it also gives importance to stakeholders
or members of the organization. Not only financial needs, triple bottom line concept also takes
environmental and social requirements into consideration. The old and traditional model just focuses
only on profit and benefits for the company but triple bottom line concept proves that by just focusing
on the profits company becomes unsustainable and gradually starts losing its profits over the period of
time. Therefore, triple bottom line concept justifies that if the company aims at satisfying its

24. Paul Modrich And The Dna Mismatch Repair System Essay
Claire Wisener
Paul Modrich and the DNA Mismatch Repair System
On December 10, 2015, three profound individuals received the Nobel Prize in chemistry for their
work on DNA repair systems. Paul Modrich, Thomas Lindahl, and Aziz Sancar studied how the cell
repairs and protects the information held in its DNA; specifically, Paul Modrich focused on DNA
mismatch repair. Since DNA constantly replicates, damage and incorrect pairings are expected, but
enzymes watch over DNA as it replicates and repair any errors that occur. In the mismatch repair
system, enzymes find the mismatch in the copy of DNA, cut the incorrect section out, and replace it
with the correct sequence. Paul Modrich s study of the mismatch repair system has provided the
medical field with important information regarding cancer growth and the possibility of a cure. Paul
Modrich was born June 13, 1946. Growing up in the small town of Raton in northern New Mexico
caused Modrich to have an interest in science since childhood (HHMI). The large amount of
biodiversity surrounding him sparked his interest in biology and DNA, and his father, the biology
teacher at the local high school, encouraged Modrich to pursue his interests in DNA. After graduating
from Raton High School, Modrich went on to receive his bachelor s degree in biology at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1968 and later went to Stanford University to get his PhD in
biochemistry in 1973 (Duke University School of Medicine). In the late 1970s,

26. The Use Of Stereotypes In The 1967 Film Guess Who s Coming...
In the 1967 film, Guess Who s Coming to Dinner, the main characters bring home controversy when
they surprise their parents and friends with the news of their soon to be interracial marriage. Each
character brings a unique perspectives to the film, which in turn brings to light several different issues.
Throughout the film, there are many different ways in which communication is ineffective and could
have been improved. First, this paper will discuss examples of stereotypes presented in the film. Next,
it will explain complications in listening styles and how it affects communication between characters.
Finally, this paper will analyze process of conflict and how the prior points influence the process.
According to the textbook, stereotyping is attributing a set of qualities to a person because of his or
her membership to some category (Beebe, Beebe, Redmond, 2011, 74). This can be seen throughout
the beginning of the film when John and Joey first interact with Mrs. Drayton and again with Mr.
Drayton. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In both cases, the accusers took a small amount of information as if they were a highly representative
factor. As a result, Mr. Drayton drew prejudicial conclusions about John and his capabilities. As for
Tillie, she overgeneralized and drew inaccurate conclusions about John and his intentions with Joey.
Although these are two specific examples of stereotyping in the film, they are not the only instances.
However, they are not pertinent to the purposes of this paper and will not be listed. Each of these
instances of stereotyping cut off the chance of successful communication by letting the preconceived
notions keep them from being open minded towards John. Towards the end of the movie, John is
talking to his father and says, You think of yourself as a colored man, but I just think of myself as a
man . This statement does a great job of exemplifying the difference in stereotyping and not

ABSTRACT:
Bioplastic is a form of plastic synthesized from renewable resources such as plant starch and microbial
species. Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) is a carbon reserve and biodegradable polyesters which are
synthesized by many bacteria. Marine organisms have strategies to produce novel compounds like
PHB due to the unique environment they survive. They are accumulated intracellularly as carbon and
energy reserves under certain conditions like, in the presence of excess carbon source.

31. Defining Modernism Essay
Defining Modernism
Modernism described as movement in arts would best be described as a movement that was used to
unit America after a period of crisis, it did this by it being centered on explorations into the spiritual
nature of men and the value of his society and institutions. In a way it was like realism they too
focused on the changes on society. The modernistic writers always wrote in a very formal defined
form.
Modernism also played a very important role as a movement in poetry. The way modernism did this
was it brought so much more opportunity to the poet as a way of writing. The poet is now able to
express themselves in new ways. If it was not for modernism who knows if we would be talking about
the works of Emily ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Modernists like realists both wanted to paint an unbiased, accurate picture of society by confronting
the problems of the individual and of the society. The only difference in the two is the difference in
societies. These principles could be called the tenents of Modernism.
My working definition of modernism would be a movement in American Literature that allowed
writers to be able to express themselves but at the same time be able to celebrate the changes that are
accruing around them. This movement also allowed poets to write about anything that they saw which
was thought to be modern. In short I guess it is somewhat safe to say that their writings reflect
ongoing changes that are occurring in their society.
As far representative themes go my definition ties into that. In nineteen thirty Hart Crane made a
visionary pilgrimage though America s geographical and emotional space. Around this time Crane
published his epic poem The Bridge, which celebrates the Brooklyn Bridge as both an architectural
achievement and a symbol of American modernity. Because of the type of descriptive writing that was
being used the voice in the writings were in deep detail and strong emphasis on words were also used
to help get the point across.
This time in American Literature is a very important one. Without this strong movement we today
would not have the please of being

32. Using Compact And High Performance Wireless Communication...
Chapter 1
Introduction
The patch antenna plays a very important role in today s world of wireless communication systems
.There is always a large demand for high performance ,small size and low cost wireless
communication systems .in order to get these requirements ,planar patch antenna is preferred because
of their various advantages such as light weight ,low volume ,low cost and ease for fabrication
.although the microstrip patch antenna has various advantages it has various disadvantages which are
low gain ,narrow bandwidth and low efficiency .These disadvantages can be overcome by
constructing many patch antennas in array configuration. Recently there has been increasing demand
in the use of DGSs for performance enhancement of microstrip patch antennas and planar array
antennas .there are basically two types of structures which are used for the design of compact and high
performance wireless communication systems named as defected ground structures (DGS) and
electromagnetic band gap structures (EBG) which is also known as photonic band gap structure(PBG).
These structures have been used to obtain the functions such as unwanted frequency rejection and
circuit size reduction. Recently defected ground structures have been introduced; DGSs are realized
by simply etching off simple shape (called as defect) from the ground plane .Depending upon the
shape and the dimensions of the defects ,the current distribution in the ground plane is disturbed and

discussing the relationship between forensic science and crime (Smith, 2005).
In 1984, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire residents suffered sleepless nights with fear and terror in

with a non diegetic electric guitar playing in the wake of his sail to accentuate his skillful movements.
The guitar leads into a full blown heroic sounding orchestral piece, halted by a cutscene where we see
Jim being essentially arrested for trespassing. This pairs the electric guitar with Jim further
establishing his rebellious nature, the opposite of what we would expect with the exposition of Jim s
character being a kind, curious, and slightly impatient child. Whenever an electric guitar is heard after
this scene, it is because Jim is doing something reclass but substantial. The next time we learn about
Jim and his background it is to the backing soundtrack of a song written by The Goo Goo Dolls, an
American rock band. With multiple themes consistently at play, if not for the intervening of

38. Female Characters In A Lesson Before Dying
The fictional town of Bayonne in A Lesson Before Dying is based on a plantation where the author
Ernest J. Gaines was born. This novel took place in the late 1940s a time when radical discrimination
was a major problem, and the Jim Crow laws validated segregation and discrimination. Although the
major personalities are males, there are three female characters that influence the males to solve the
difficulties in their life they would usually ignore. Each female character persuades and motivates
Jefferson and Grant from running away from their responsibilities. Tante Lou and Miss Emma
convince Grant to make Jefferson die like a man and not a hog, and Vivian makes Grant stay in the
quarter and not run away from his purpose in his life.
One of the first female characters introduced is Miss Emma, Jefferson s godmother. The first
description of Miss Emma is in the courtroom where she is described as a heavy set woman weighing
approximately two hundred pounds. We know she is a caring woman because while in the courtroom
she never got up to use the bathroom or get a glass of water. Even though she may not be strong
enough to sway the juries mind or protect Jefferson of the unfair sentencing of death by electrocution.

41. Comparing The Iroquois Constitution And The Crahan Family
In both the Iroquois Constitution and the Crahan Family, abiding by the rules is crucial to maintaining
a happy family or confederacy. These rules are set in place to keep peace and happiness amongst
everyone. These rules are enforced by my parents, and followed by my two brothers and I. For
example, if I infringe on being respectful, I will get grounded. Similar to the Crahan family, the
Iroquois Constitution has important rules or ways of life as well. These morals of life consist of peace,
honesty, justice, faith and gratitude. The Iroquois Constitution s faith relates to Joseph Campbell, a
renowned mythologist, and his four functions of myth through their relationship with God. The
Iroquois Constitution includes the Mohawk, Oneida, Onondaga, Cayuga, and Seneca tribes. If others
desire to join the confederacy, they must exercise those morals and their hearts shall be filled with
peace and goodwill (Iroquois, 29). Similar to the Iroquois Constitution, the Crahan family has rules
you should follow; such as being respectful, owning up to our actions, and trying our best in all our
endeavors. First, as a part of the Crahan family we must be respectful to our family and others in order
to maintain a positive environment around us. A part of being respectful is owning up to our actions by
