The Five Social Classes In America
The five social or economic classes in America are based on the large disparity of income gaps in the
American class system. The naming of the different class systems may have different names
depending on the author, but the American social class system has a wide income gap between the
richest to the poorest in the nation. According to the article, Who We Are written by Emily Barone, the
income gap is wider than ever before in America. The income gap is wider than ever. Climbing out of
poverty is increasingly difficult. (Barone, 2014, p. 1) The richest are receiving record high incomes,
while the poorest in the nation are finding it ever harder to rise above the poverty line. The author Ms.
Barone divides and names the five social classes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, not many studies have made it clear as to how wide is the gap between CEO pay here in
America compared to the minimum wage worker and how does this gap compare to other countries.
There is an article called CEOs Get Paid Too Much, According to Pretty Much Everyone in the World
by Ms. Gavett. The article is interesting to point out the differences in CEO pay gaps according to the
minimum wages around the world. The article also gives what many people perceive as an ideal pay
gap between the wealthy and poor around the world. I was not surprised to see that the America CEO
pay gap is the highest in the world and by a large margin. The ideal pay gap for America according to
the study should be around 6.7 to 1 in America. For example, the largest desired ratio difference
Australia at 8.3 to 1 would be hypothetically making over $500,000 a year. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) While
most Americans feel that CEO pay gap is larger at around 30 to 1. However, Americans would be
stunned to know America s real wage gap related to CEO to the worker. America s real pay gap is the
highest in the world at 350 to 1. Many of the heated debates about whether CEO pay should be capped
or the minimum wage increased are debates based on an extreme lack of knowledge about the true
state of affairs. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) Judging by the actual current pay gap figures, I suggest placing a

Baroque and High Renaissance
Baroque and High Renaissance are two very important periods in art history, during that time a lot of
different forms of art were created which include architecture, painting, and music. Baroque is just
another word for having flashy symmetrical decoration. It s a style that started around the 1600s in
Italy and with its popularity it quickly spread around Europe. High Renaissance artist displaces the
importance of draftsmanship, structured, and often centralized compositions. Many artists quickly rise
to stardom during these eras. This paper compares and contrasts these two art periods with the works
created by great artists such as Marcantonio Franceschini who lived during the Baroque period and
Mariotto Albertinelli who lived during the High Renaissance period.
Baroque style of art was not always popular it has had a bad reputation since 18th century
Neoclassicism as irregular, strange, or otherwise departing from conventional rules and sizes. Baroque
come form the Portuguese word barroco which means imperfectly shaped pearl. It implemented a
propagandistic stance in which art was to serve as a means of prolonging and rousing the public s trust
in the Catholic Counter Reformation Church; it quickly became the official art of the Church. The
artworks produced in the Baroque era were both sensuous and spiritual, while the true to life treatment
made the religious image more available to the average churchgoer. Baroque artworks have seven

Superhero Be Real Essay
How Can a Superhero be Real? In the book MORE THAN NORMAL, BUT BELIEVABLE Stan Lee
cites specific characteristics and skills that a Superhero should have in other to be considered one. So
in order to be a superhero, you need a power that is more exceptional than any power a normal human
being could possess, and you need to use that power to accomplish good deeds. (115). Some of those
skills cited by him appears on the character of Jetboy Wild Cards. One of the first time we see a
connection with Stan Lee description of superheroes is on the THIRTY MINUTES OVER
BROADWAY history about Jetboy. First, it mentions the colorful clothes A boy dressed in red pants,
white shirt and blue helmet and googles steppe out of the cockpit and onto the drop ladder on the left
side. (14). Which Stan Lee refers on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

street and he was also affected by the virus but got cured by Doctor Tachyon. Even though Bentley got
cured, he still helps Croyd a lot when he is going through all those crazy changes on his body.
For enclose, I believe Wild Cards can make a hero been seen as a real when based on Stan Lee words.
Jetboy was a perfect example of that, mostly on THE SLEEPR history in my option, where he has
super powers and have also friends, family and a normal life. On the first history he was a hero for
sure, but he had an ability that maybe any human being if trained would also acquire, different on

Toyota Production System Theory Essay
Just in time is also referred to as just in time production. It is a method in which projected mainly at
reducing flow times within production system of an organization as well as response times from
suppliers and to customers. The major advantage of utilizing this theory is that it moderates materials
usage as well as raw material wastage. This approach aids in customizing the vehicle as per the
demand of the client and expectation. The main disadvantage of applying just in time is that the clients
may have certain expectations and they are unsure of how the appearance of the final product will
look like. This theory makes the customer wait for the final product to be delivered hence cannot be
certain if the final product will be liked by the client (Schmidt, Simchi Levi, 2013).
The Toyota Production System (TPS) theory is defined as an original manufacturing philosophy
whose main aim is to eliminate waste and achieve the best possible efficiency in an organization.
Advantages of TPS is that this production system helps to improve the quality of the product at every
stage of the assembly line. The disadvantage of using TPS is that this process can be time consuming,

The primary objective of lean is to produce more value for customers with fewer resources. The
advantage of lean production is it helps in reducing the cost of production by eliminating unnecessary
materials used in production. Disadvantages of lean production are that it depends on the inventory the
supplier keeps in his hand of which the suppliers often prefer in keeping a small amount of stock
which is not acceptable in a lean production system. The material supply can delay being delivered to
the production house due to unavoidable circumstances that may include transportation breakdown,
suppliers strike or specific product not available (Theory of Constraints

The Role Of European Imperialism In Africa
Ever heard the saying big bank take little bank ? That s basically what imperialism is. Imperialism is a
policy which a strong nation take complete control over other countries . This is exactly what the
Europeans did in several different parts of Africa . Not only did the Europeans divided and colonized
Africa but they took everything away ,from their culture to their independence. Why take all this away
? It s simple , the Europeans nations was competing against each other and they thought they were
superior. They noticed Africa had many raw materials and resources they could use and benefit from.
The driving force for imperialism in Africa was economics , competition , and politics. In order for the
European nation to be advance

Lizzie Borden Investigation
The research paper I am conducting is on Lizzie Borden who was accused of murdering her father and
stepmother in 1892 with a hatchet. Due to failed investigation and lack of technology at the time,
Lizzie was released and acquitted of all charges. In this paper I will point out what the police did not
do properly during the investigation, as well as what I would have done differently. Lizzie Borden s
story had red flags that police and investigation should have caught on to. The first being, that when
police interviewed Lizzie about what had happened that day she gave inconsistent stories. Second
being, that she said I heard a groan or a scraping noise before entering the house . Later she changed
to say she heard nothing and entered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Andrew Borden estate was worth $300,000 dollars, which as of 2016 would be $7,901,111. This was a
lot of money during the late 1800 s. Lizzie was reported to have arguments with her father regarding a
property settlement over the divorce between Andrew and Mrs. Borden. If the investigation was in my
hands, I would have thoroughly questioned Lizzie, and requested a full physiological evaluation. I
would have also tried to submit the hatchet into evidence, proving that the split in the skull could
match that of a hatchet. The repetitive Hatchet blows to the back of Abby Borden s head shows it was
killing out of rage. The only person to have shown signs of animosity towards these individuals was
Lizzie Borden. The dispute over property of a wealthy man as Andrew Borden, the dislike people had
for him, the divorce Lizzie went through, and her father killing her pet birds leads me to believe there
was a motive. The double murder of Andrew and Abby Borden still remains unsolved. The police
could have done a better job investigating and the evidence showing Lizzie being linked should have
been enough to charge her but this is a period of time when forensics was at its infancy and if there
was no weapon there was no crime. The money involved could have brought rise to Lizzie to plot the
death for inheritance. We will never

Boston Tea Party During The American Revolution
Boston tea party During the American Revolution
The Boston Tea Party refers to the political protest initiated by the Sons of Liberty on 16th December,
1773 in Boston (Savelle Labaree, 1966). The protestors, disguised often as American Indians, dumped
the entire tea shipment into the Boston Harbor sent by East India Company into the water. This protest
was in reaction and showing the noncooperation towards the Tea Act enacted on 10th May, 1773. In
reaction to this event, the British government showed a harsh response and this escalated the
American Revolution. The Boston Tea Party has become an iconic episode of the American history,
and some other political and governmental protests for instance the Tea Party movements after 2010
overtly refer to the event.
Throughout out the British America, Colonists protested against the Tea Act, and the reason for their
objection was grounded on the belief that such act violated the rights of Englishmen as they believed
on No taxation without representation, which meant that they could only be taxed by their own
nominated representatives rather than the British parliament (Carp, 2012). Protesters had effectively
prevented the taxed tea unloading in other three colonies. However in Boston, Thomas Hutchinson the
royal governor refused the return of tea shipment to the Britain.
The Boston Tea Party has significant impact on the history of American Revolution. In 1774,
Parliament responded with the Intolerable Acts or Coercive Acts,

Football Is A Popular Sport Essay
Football is a game that has a major impact on the fans, cities, and history of multiple teams and
organizations. Many can connect to the game on an emotional basis and that is why football is such a
popular sport today. There have been a lot of people that have contributed to this sport from the
beginning to today s time. They have helped create a basis for the game (rules, field length, field goal
size, etc.), decide how to crown a champion, and start organizations to help athletes. There have also
been multiple coaches that have played major roles in leading their team and progressing the game to
what it is today. While coaches play an important role, there are also individual games that have
shaped the way the game is played along with the rules. Each of these things have been key and
instrumental in progressing the game through time while building one of the most beloved and popular
sports of today s time, and Football is a game that will have a long future ahead of it. Before talking
about where football came from one must first look at what sport it evolved from. When the sport first
began it was similar to rugby, which had been around for quite some time at that point. Football began
to evolve through time to an extent that it is being played in public schools across the country and also
gaining a worthy following. Then came along Walter Camp, the football coach at Yale from 1888 1892
and Stanford from 1892 1894. While Camp attended Yale he actually played

Vygotsky s Theory On Cognitive Development Essay
⅓ of a page on vygotsky
Lev Semionovich Vygotsky was a Russian psychologist and constructivist learning theorist who was
known for arguing against the theories of psychologist Jean Piaget. Piaget believed that in order for
any learning to occur there had to development within the individual first, but Vygotsky argued the
contrary. He argued that in order for development to occur, the individual would first have to have
learning take place through instruction and example in a given appropriate environment. Vygotsky s
theory on cognitive development is centralized on two key ideas known as scaffolding and the zone of
proximal development which will be explored in this essay and how they contribute to the classroom.
½ scaffolding Scaffolding is defined by Educational Psychology, 8th edition as: Support for learning
and problem solving; might include clues, reminders, encouragement, breaking the problem down into
steps, providing an example, or anything else that allows the student to grow in independence as a
learner (45). The key concepts of scaffolding in the zone of proximal development is how Vygotsky
believed the most learning can take place as the students are amongst peers whose private speech can
be discussed among one another to come to new conclusions. (aka learning.) private speech Children s
self talk, which guides their thinking and action; eventually internalized as silent inner speech. For
example, a teacher could introduce a concept requiring prompting,

Analysis Of The Book From The Brain By Tobias Wolff
Perhaps we do not realize the impact of the petty things we have experienced when life itself flashes
before our eyes. Even though our lives are composed of countless moments to remember, sometimes
we do not understand how they slowly shape who we are and how we see the world. This is what
Tobias Wolff suggests in his short story, Bullet in the Brain . The story focuses on the internal journey
of a man named Anders when his life comes to a close. A well crafted look into the memories of
Anders gives readers distaste for all he takes for granted and demonstrates his lack of sympathy. The
story begins with Anders in line at a bank. After one of the tellers closes her line and all the patrons
become impatient, two bank robbers with guns enter the bank. The robbers cuff the security guard and
begin demanding money from the tellers. Anders makes too many sarcastic and critical comments, and
as a consequence, one of the bank robbers shoots him in the head with a pistol. The entire second part
of the short story focuses on the thoughts Anders experiences as the bullet travels through his brain.
The narrator begins to discuss many seemingly irrelevant memories from his life, and surfaces how he
does not think about or remember any of those moments as his life comes to a close. Instead, the
narrator ends the story with Anders recalling a time from his childhood where him and his friends
were playing baseball, and tells how a particular phrase his friend uses makes him feel aroused.

Pros And Cons Of Senior Care Texas And Companionship
Senior Care Texas and Companionship
As we age, there are many positive events that happen in our lives. We get to witness the marriage of
our children, the birth of our grandchildren or great grandchildren, and hopefully enjoy the fruits of
our labor during retirement. There are some negative parts to aging as well. Friends and family pass
on or move away, the excitement of the workforce is replaced with endless numbers of unscheduled
days, and even your closest allies, such as a spouse, may move on in divorce or death. The result of
these changes, despite the many positives, is loneliness.

The University of Rochester Medical Center found that social interaction is important for health, and
loneliness leads to medical problems. One study found fewer colds, lower blood pressure, and lower
heart rates in seniors with strong social ties. Statistics show that marriage, perhaps the strongest tie,
adds years to life expectancy. And suicide, mental illness and alcoholism rates are much lower when
people feel a sense of belonging.
Studies at UC San Francisco support the Rochester findings. They found that seniors over 60 who
experience prolonged bouts of loneliness have a 45 percent increase in their risk of death. They were
also nearly 60 percent more likely to have mental and physical problems develop as a result of the
loneliness.
Supporting the idea that more people does not necessarily resolve loneliness, Dr. T. Byram Karasu
Albert Einstein College of Medicine s chair of psychiatry and behavioral sciences found that Even
when they re being taken care of by family caregivers, there is often little attention paid to deep,
engaging communication between a senior and the rest of the family. The result is a feeling of being

Should Athletes Be Paid For College Athletes
Thousands of 18 21 year olds slave away for 60 hours or more every week. They are expected to work
tirelessly hard to pass classes but at the same time dedicate most of their time to athletics. College
athletes are used to create a billion dollar business, industries rely on them constantly working away
and receive little to no compensation. College athletes should be compensated for being the working
force behind a multi billion dollar industry and receive little to no payment for their time, while at the
same time have to pass college classes. The student athletes will endure life long effects of playing
physically demanding sports. Injuries can saddle them with years of medical bills. (Majerol). Athletes
are there to make the college sports better, schools see them as only someone to help make them profit
by making the sports program better. As soon as they leave the sports program they no longer care
about the physical trauma, and mental trauma the athlete has to deal with the rest of their life. less than
2 percent of college athletes ever compete professionally. (Zissou). This mean 2 percent of the athletes
will proffesional medical care, while the other 98 percent have to pay out of pocket for the rest of their

Private Student Loans
When starting the journey of going to college we have to answer one big question: How do I pay for
it? When looking at this issue you know of some options, but do you know about budgeting. You need
to budget the amount of money you borrow. Once you borrow the money, you need to estimate how
much food or a meal plan, rent or dorm boarding, textbooks, school supplies, gas, or insurance. You
have to be able to figure out how to spend your money the proper way.
Students have many options for paying for college one being getting a student loan. There are two
types of loans that students can get a Federal and Private student loan. The Department of Education
offers a Federal Student Loan. The loan is awarded to qualified students going for their undergraduate
or graduate degree. Eligibility depends on multiple things including the student s financial need. At
accredited undergraduate schools you can borrow up to $16,500 per year. Graduate students may
borrow up to $28,500 in federal loans. That loan is considered unsubsidized, which means students
must pay interest while in school.
The other type of loan is Private Student Loans are nonfederal loans that are awarded by financial and

Who Is Willy Loman s Blind Faith In Death Of A Salesman
Why racism pretends to be an issue when it s not? In Death of a Salesman by Arthur miller, Willy
Loman s blind faith in his stunted version of the American Dream leads to his rapid psychological
debility when he is unable to accept the disparity between the Dream and his own life. Miller explains
that Lorman killed himself to provide a better a life for his family cause of his mistakes chasing the
unknown dream. He also mentions how he refused to accept failure and demanded the appearance of
utmost confidence in his household. First I m going to talk about why the play of Death of a Salesman
is universal, and second about why I think every culture can relate to the story.
The play is universal and non racial. According to John Lahr s review Hard Sell , the play of death of a

of a play is a senseless idea for a black during that time. He explains that ... Show more content on

Malaria Research Paper
Malaria is a serious disease caused by a parasite. Infected mosquitoes spread it. Malaria is very
common throughout the world. In the United States, the main risk is to persons traveling to tropical
and subtropical countries where malaria is a problem. There are four different types of malaria caused
by four related parasites. The most deadly type occurs in Africa south of the Sahara Desert. The
symptoms characteristic of malaria include fever, chills, muscle aches, and headache. Cycles of chills,
fever, and sweating that recur every 1, 2 or 3 days are typical. There can sometimes be vomiting,
diarrhoea, coughing and yellowing (jaundice) of the skin and whites of the eyes. The treatment for
malaria depends upon the geographic area where a person has been infected with the disease. Different
areas of the world have malaria types that are resistant to certain medications.
Malaria is a disease which can be transmitted to people of all ages. It is caused by parasites of the

Biological And Psychological Theories
Biological and Psychological Theories
The most important issues that are faced by biological and psychological theorists when it comes to
explaining criminal behaviors are. Psychological (1) Society determines behavioral norms (2) crimes
are a result of abnormal or inappropriate irregularities within the mental progressions of a person. (3)
psychological theories focus on the individual, (4) behavior is motivated by personality (5) there are
many reasons why a person could have flawed mental processes which can result in them committing
crimes (Raine, 2013, pgs. 12 14). The fact is there are many reasons criminal behavior, but many
people who are criminals show signs of having an antisocial personality disorder, such as psychology

The Heart Of Evil In Shakespeare s King Lear
Shakespeare s King Lear
In The Tragedy of King Lear, Shakespeare depicts a knot of characters, each of whom is intent on
achieving his or her aims by any means necessary. The main protagonist King Lear is at the heart of
evil in the play, as David Beauregard asserts (204). Lear irresponsibly divides his kingdom, gives it
away to emerging chaos, and behaves as a tyrant throughout the play. In Lear, Shakespeare creates a
complex character, which deserves the misfortunes that he brings upon himself. However, Edmond,
the illegitimate son of the Earl of Gloucester, is an outright villain. His misdeeds are the cunningly
planned crimes, unlike Lear s impertinent mistreatment of the people. Beauregard further defines the
injustice described in King Lear as the result of human evil (217). This play s tragedy is not in Lear s
pitiful position, but in the malign state of mind of people who manipulate others, as Lear and Edmond.
In the first scene of the play, Gloucester introduces Edmond to the Earl of Kent as his favorite son
(1.1.15 16). Still, Edmond is not content with his father s love and recognition. Meredith Skura
describes Edmond as this play s villain who maims and murders, defies religion and family bonds
(127). Edmond openly claims that he wants his legitimate brother s property and status (1.2.15 18).
This villain constructs a plot to slander his brother Edgar in front of his father to gain Edgar lands and
status.

Narrative-Highway Creative Writing
At the end of every work week, I looked forward to cruising Interstate Twenty. Just me, the highway,
and some banging tunes to listen to along the way. I really enjoyed the fact of not having to deal with
the stressful environment my job created. Little did I know, this particular
Friday night in November, danger lied ahead. It was an experience that I would never forget.
It was another week completed of work, and it was my turn to punch out at the time machine. I
quickly stamped my card and placed it back into the holder. Without saying goodbye to my co
workers, I did not hesitate to crank my car and speed up the main highway. As the image of the factory
disappeared in the rear view, I screamed Interstate Twenty here I come. It felt good ... Show more

After a minute of gazing forward, I noticed that the light had vanished. This puzzled me as I pulled
back into the highway.
Thirty more minutes passed and the voice spoke again. Immediately after trucks appeared stopped
directly in my line of travel. I lifted my emergency brakes and began to scream aloud.
Everything happened so quickly. Clouds of smoke filled the sky and my vehicle was turned
Horton 3 sideways. In total shock, I exited my vehicle to locate the other trucks. After a five minute
search, no vehicles were spotted in the area. What was this I exclaimed. I was frighten knowing that I
had seen something and could not find it.
Then the voice spoke again. It was clearly understandable to the ear! The words spoken were very
touching and uplifting. Do not be afraid, because I am with you was stated. The thought came to me
that it was the voice of an angel. Immediately I began to praise and shout new songs for I knew that
my encounter was genuine. That night I began a new journey. Such a one, that it would take me farther
than my favorite two hour joy ride. Presently I drive with caution and continue to tell others about this

Comparing Men And Women In Shakespeare s Othello
Women are looked over in Othello but end up being the downfall of their male counterparts; It was
Desdemona that was Othello s greatest weakness and Emilia was Iago s. This is alluding to
Shakespeare being incredibly progressive in a time where women were widely renowned as objects of
men. By analyzing and comparing aspects of both Emilia and Desdemona in the William Shakespeare
play Othello This is illustrated in Othello by comparing the difference in the opinions between Emilia
s and Desdemona s on taking and following orders from men, the double standard between men and
women when it comes to human impulses and urges, and how hard a fight they will put up against a
man. Emilia exhibits the traits of a modern feminist for her time.

Desdemona is oblivious to Othello s plans until he begins to enact them on her. She insists her
innocence during the entire process. Emilia enters Desdemona s chamber unknowing of what had
occurred to find her mistress wailing o falsely, falsely murdered (5.2.144) and a guiltless death I die
(5.2.150). As Emily realizes what had happened she is sent into a rage of defending Desdemona s
faithfulness and pieces together Iago s role in the planting of the idea. Emilia calls guards and screams
at Othello, defending Desdemona. She continually insists Desdemona could and would never have
cheated on Othello and responds to Othello s accusation of Desdemona being unfaithful by saying o,
the more angle she, and you the blacker devil! (5.2.161). Emilia not only draws on Desdemona s
angelic presence, but also Othello s biggest insecurity; his ethnicity. The action of her referring him to
a blacker devil not only associates Othello with the embodiment of all evil but also stripps him of his
accomplishments by taking away his name and only speaking to his skin color. Iago rushes into the
chamber and in an argument between them, kills Emilia because she exposed his role in the entire
thing. Emilia s last dying wish was to die next to her honorable mistress, proving Emilia s complete

Teotihuacan Research Paper
Teotihuacan is an interesting tourist destination, as it also doubles as an archaeological site that gives
the tourist a view into the past of Mexican civilization. Considering Latin America as a whole is
relatively new to the tourism industry, and taking into account that tourism plays such a huge role in
Mexico s annual income, it is imperative that all implications of tourism be considered. That being
said, the implications of Teotihuacan s changing landscape should also be considered through the
archaeological lens. As Margarita Díaz Andreu puts it, archaeological tourism and ethics are often two
separate fields that are not considered to go hand in hand by many scholars (Díaz Andreu, 225). Yet,
the role of archaeologists in shaping the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Millions of people go up and down its steps, some of them knowing their past, others taking pictures
in it while knowing little of the cultural importance. The landscape itself is a city, and should not be
forgotten. A city welcomes people, and allows for many cultures to be living together in one location.
In the case of Teotihuacan, it is not enough to debate who owns it, the debate should entertain ways
people could work together to conserve the site, and allow everyone to have a similar knowledge of
what each step means. The indigenous should not be pushed away, and the tourists should still be
encouraged to visit. After all, the indigenous economy also depends on tourist activity, and the sale of
their art and work to a curious other. Much like this symbiosis on the grounds of the site, the
cooperation of all parties should be promoted on a facilitative level. The government knows the ins
and outs of efficiently running the tourist site, yet the indigenous have alternative knowledge to offer
the visitors. Whether their participation comes in the form of workshops, culturally immersive tours or
seats at the administrative table, the indigenous should be welcomed into playing a more active role in
the tourism that takes place at Teotihuacan, to ensure the wellbeing of the site. The tourist still seeks
what is authentic, and the actions taken by the indigenous will allow for Teotihuacan to once again be

Gerry Cahill Case Summary
Carnival s president and CEO, Gerry Cahill responded quickly to address the situation, and chose the
direct communication approach. He began with an apology, and acknowledgement of the passengers
challenging situation. In cases where the company was clearly in the wrong, this is proven to be very
effective (Guffey, Loewy). His message then stated that safety is their highest concern, and concluded
with the commitment to get them home as quickly as possible. Emphasizing safety, undoubtedly
supported the company from a litigation standpoint, while relaying a reason why they may be taking
longer than expected. Mr. Cahill won praise from the media. Therefore, I believe, we can conclude
that his message was deemed sincere. Utilizing multiple social

Psychodynamic Psychotherapy And Person Centered Psychology...
The counseling profession has a broad spectrum of possibilities when it comes to choosing which
psychological approach to take. The field of counseling takes many forms and offers many career
options, from school counseling to marriage and family therapy. As there are numerous styles in
existence, it is important to be aware of the many approaches available to take. For my research two
psychological approaches, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Person Centered Psychology, will be
critically analyzed and discussed in depth in order to compare the techniques as well as effectiveness
of each.
Foundation of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy
Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy was developed by Sigmund Freud during the Victorian
Era in Vienna, Austria. Sigmund Freud s psychological works set the base for the profession of
psychology as well as the practice of modern psychotherapy. Freud believed human behavior was
motivated by intrapsychic conflict stemming from the three areas of the subconscious: id, ego, and
superego (Murdock, 2009).
Freud s psychoanalytic approach to therapy had more of a negative view of human nature that Carl
Rogers view. Freud thought human dysfunction developed as a result of poor genetic make up, as well
as deficits (fixations) caused by missed psychosexual developmental stages. In short, human conflict
came about as a result of struggles between the id (primal, instinctual urges), ego (role of self in
reality) and superego (conscience/critic), manifested in the

Magnetic Refrigeration
MAGNETIC MAGNETIC REFRIGERATION a fruitful approach to reduce environmental
pollution...
ABSTRACT :
The objective of this effort is to determine the feasibility of designing, fabricating and testing a sensor
cooler, which uses solid materials as the refrigerant. These materials demonstrate the unique property
known as the magneto caloric effect, which means that they increase and decrease in temperature
when magnetized/demagnetized. This effect has been observed for many years and was used for
cooling near absolute zero. Recently, materials are being developed which have sufficient temperature
and entropy change to make them useful for a wide range of temperature applications. The proposed
effort includes magneto caloric effect material ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This allows it to absorb more unwanted heat, and the cycle begins again.
Producing very low temperature through the process of adiabatic demagnetization can do
refrigeration. The paramagnetic salt is suspended by a thread in a tube containing a low pressure of
gaseous helium to provide thermal communication with the surrounding bath of pumped helium. In
operation the liquid helium bath is cooled by pumping to the lowest practical pressure, usually
achieving a temperature in the neighborhood of 1oK. The temperature of the paramagnetic salt
approaches that of the helium bath by conduction through the exchange gas.
Next the magnetic field is turned on, causing heating of the salt and a decrease in entropy of the
magnetic ions by virtue of their partial alignment in the direction of the applied field. The heat
produced is conducted to the surrounding bath of liquid helium so that the temperature again
approaches 1oK. If the magnetic field is increased slowly the heat can flow out, as it is generated the
magnetization being almost isothermal. Next the exchange gas surrounding the sample is removed by
pumping, and now, with the salt thermally isolated, the magnetic field is turned off. The temperature
of the sample decreases markedly as a consequence of the adiabatic demagnetization, which allows
the magnetic ions to regain some of their entropy at the

Analysis Of Tim Burton Creative Style
Tim Burton, a producer, director, screenwriter, and author, known for his distinctive style of horror
and fantasy blended with reality, created two of the most critically acclaimed films in our generation.
His creative style even led to the invention of a new word, Burtonesque (Renee). Known for
illustrating stories with an eccentric or gothic twist, such as his reinterpretation of Roald Dahl s
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Edward Scissorhands, he manipulates various literary and
cinematic techniques to display his perspective of fantasy, typically emphasizing the negative
elements. The films he produces visualize stories about isolated and atypical characters. Straying from
society s status quo for movies, his unorthodox outlook connects with the inner vulnerability of
humans, therefore making his projects box office successes. In his works, he manages to incorporate
themes of human depravity and overall horror into supposedly happy fairy tales. In his movies, Tim
Burton explores dark and disturbing visuals, an assortment of lighting effects, an unconventional
sequence of events, and different styles of music, to demonstrate the negative aspects of society and
the treatment of individuals society recognizes as inferior or abnormal.
Certain colors correspond with specific emotions or feelings ( Color Meanings, Color Symbolism,
Meaning of Colors ). For example, red possibly represents anger, passion, and love, and blue
represents sadness, serenity, and despair

Impact Of The Spanish Empires On The Aztecs
Aliki Daviotis
Paper #2
December 2nd, 2017
Extending along the valley of Mexico, with Tenochtitlan as its capital; the Aztec Empire resided. The
Aztecs had significant wealth from trading and heavy payments of tribute from the conquered natives.
From the years 1200 1520, the Aztecs prospered and expanded their empire immensely. However, all
of this was going to change when the Spanish landed on the Yucatan Peninsula in 1519. Following
Christopher Columbus foundation of permanent settlement in the Caribbean, the Spanish were seeking
conquest, expedition and colonization of new territory. Although there were multiple factors that
contributed to the remarkable victory by the Spanish in the sixteenth century such as religion; it was
the indigenous alliances, technological superiority, and disease that was most impactful. The Spanish
conquistadors were not your typical farmers or craftsmen they were soldiers, travelers, and
mercenaries in search of wealth. In their quests for fortune and land, they invaded and enslaved native
communities and looted gold, silver, and other treasures that were up for grabs. The two prosperous
conquests were those of the Aztec empire in Mexico by Hernan Cortes and the Inca empire in Peru by
Francisco Pizarro. They both had unpretentious forces that were far outnumbered by the warriors of
the empires they conquered. A vital element of their success was their progressed weaponry and
durable armor. Spanish conquistadors

The Pros And Cons Of Virtual Communities
The internet and generally the web, have an increased interest in studying communities. It seems that
it is important how they act, what is their purpose and how companies can take benefit of them.
Software companies have tried to create groups of users which have been tested with new programs
and experimentations. These experimentations have led to the creation of online or virtual
communities in the early years of the internet. Online communities have been characterized in the first
place as spontaneous events that provided community members with knowledge, opinions and
experiences with other users. The increase in computers and the access to the internet have led to the
creation of the first formats of communities that were news groups, chat rooms, newsletters and multi
user domains. The feeling of belonging made communities to work like social entities that unite users
that were looking for support and to exchange information. Dholakia, Bagozzi, and Pearo (2004)
recognized some of the main features of virtual communities. The human desire for connection has
created online or virtual communities. There is a main difference from physical communities in that in

Everyone in her town knew her as the sadly single woman who would never leave her house. They
often went on to say Poor Emily whenever anything happened to her (Faulkner 82). What I believe to
happen is that she never learned to cope with the death of her father then when she found someone to
replace her father with she never wanted him to leave. To find out some ways that the normal human
copes with the loss of a close family member I looked at the American Psychological Association.
According to the APA the normal human copes by talking the death of a family member out with
family and reaching out to help others (American Psychological Association). I believe that she dealt
with the death of her father by reaching out to fill the void with another being. The obsession that is
spoken about in this story is mainly the obsession of love and the past. Emily has caring family that
passes and then has a man who deserted her (Faulkner 83). She always wanted to feel loved but would
always lose that love. The house she was in represented the love that her father showed. When Homer

The Ottawa Light Rail Transit
The Ottawa Light Rail Transit Project
Introduction:
The roadways of Ottawa, Ontario have been become battered and congested due to the poor
infrastructure of public transit. There have been many proposed temporary short term solutions for the
issue such as toll roads, public transit route optimization and rapid road rehabilitation. But ultimately,
the plan is to implement an expansion to the Ottawa Light Rail Transit (OLRT) system and widen
Highway 417. There are many requirements in order to achieve such a task so, this report will outline
the guidelines of the procurement processes after issuing the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the
OLRT project from the City of Ottawa.
The City of Ottawa s first RFP was published October 27, 2011 [XX11]. The report stated that a
private sector team began preliminary research for the expansion of the OLRT system in September of
2010 following the approval of Federal and Provincial government funding before the initial
procurement process was issued. The project adopts a Design, Build, Finance, and Maintenance
(DBFM) model which allows multiple companies to place a bid on the RFP. With many options the
city is then open to make a choice the contract which will be reported on in the upcoming (sections).
Following the RFP, the City of Ottawa must choose a contract for the post. The RFP outlines the the
procurement process and states that the purchase of construction services must be in accordance to the

Occupy Wall Street Equality
Three years after the 2008 financial crisis, the U.S. economy remained a mess, leaving millions
unemployed. The housing market was struggling to recover three years after the financial crisis,
increasing foreclosures. Occupy Wall Street arose in response to the middle class people who are
getting battered by economic forces beyond their control, while elites in the private and public sector
prospered. In this paper, I will examine Occupy Wall Street s confrontation on the U.S. wealth
inequality and its protest in New York, participants and its attempt to encourage equality. Occupy Wall
Street (OWS) is a leaderless resistance movement. People had joined the movement and participated,
no matter what the gender, ethnicity, age, politics, income, occupation and education degree they had.
The majority of the protesters are young people under 30 and many of them are unemployed or
underemployed. They are frustrated that the hard working middle class is getting poor, yet Wall Street
stays wealthy. In response to the frustration, Occupy Wall Street was initiated on September 17, 2011

Branding is your reputation. Branding is about building a name for yourself, showcasing what sets you
apart from others, and describing the added value you bring to a situation.
Most job seekers are not proactive in establishing and building their career brand, letting their actions
speak for them when seeking promotions or new jobs. But why not take the time to master some very
basic tactics that can help build your career brand and make you a much more attractive employee or
job seeker? Remember, if you don t brand yourself, others will for you. And while you may be happy
and secure in your job now, you really never know when that will change.
Management guru Tom Peters, writing in his book The Brand You50 (Reinventing Work): Fifty Ways
to Transform Yourself from an Employee into a Brand That Shouts Distinction, Commitment, and

  • 2. The Five Social Classes In America The five social or economic classes in America are based on the large disparity of income gaps in the American class system. The naming of the different class systems may have different names depending on the author, but the American social class system has a wide income gap between the richest to the poorest in the nation. According to the article, Who We Are written by Emily Barone, the income gap is wider than ever before in America. The income gap is wider than ever. Climbing out of poverty is increasingly difficult. (Barone, 2014, p. 1) The richest are receiving record high incomes, while the poorest in the nation are finding it ever harder to rise above the poverty line. The author Ms. Barone divides and names the five social classes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, not many studies have made it clear as to how wide is the gap between CEO pay here in America compared to the minimum wage worker and how does this gap compare to other countries. There is an article called CEOs Get Paid Too Much, According to Pretty Much Everyone in the World by Ms. Gavett. The article is interesting to point out the differences in CEO pay gaps according to the minimum wages around the world. The article also gives what many people perceive as an ideal pay gap between the wealthy and poor around the world. I was not surprised to see that the America CEO pay gap is the highest in the world and by a large margin. The ideal pay gap for America according to the study should be around 6.7 to 1 in America. For example, the largest desired ratio difference Australia at 8.3 to 1 would be hypothetically making over $500,000 a year. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) While most Americans feel that CEO pay gap is larger at around 30 to 1. However, Americans would be stunned to know America s real wage gap related to CEO to the worker. America s real pay gap is the highest in the world at 350 to 1. Many of the heated debates about whether CEO pay should be capped or the minimum wage increased are debates based on an extreme lack of knowledge about the true state of affairs. (Gavett, 2014, p. 1) Judging by the actual current pay gap figures, I suggest placing a national ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Baroque and High Renaissance Baroque and High Renaissance are two very important periods in art history, during that time a lot of different forms of art were created which include architecture, painting, and music. Baroque is just another word for having flashy symmetrical decoration. It s a style that started around the 1600s in Italy and with its popularity it quickly spread around Europe. High Renaissance artist displaces the importance of draftsmanship, structured, and often centralized compositions. Many artists quickly rise to stardom during these eras. This paper compares and contrasts these two art periods with the works created by great artists such as Marcantonio Franceschini who lived during the Baroque period and Mariotto Albertinelli who lived during the High Renaissance period. Baroque style of art was not always popular it has had a bad reputation since 18th century Neoclassicism as irregular, strange, or otherwise departing from conventional rules and sizes. Baroque come form the Portuguese word barroco which means imperfectly shaped pearl. It implemented a propagandistic stance in which art was to serve as a means of prolonging and rousing the public s trust in the Catholic Counter Reformation Church; it quickly became the official art of the Church. The artworks produced in the Baroque era were both sensuous and spiritual, while the true to life treatment made the religious image more available to the average churchgoer. • 4. Superhero Be Real Essay How Can a Superhero be Real? In the book MORE THAN NORMAL, BUT BELIEVABLE Stan Lee cites specific characteristics and skills that a Superhero should have in other to be considered one. So in order to be a superhero, you need a power that is more exceptional than any power a normal human being could possess, and you need to use that power to accomplish good deeds. (115). Some of those skills cited by him appears on the character of Jetboy Wild Cards. One of the first time we see a connection with Stan Lee description of superheroes is on the THIRTY MINUTES OVER BROADWAY history about Jetboy. First, it mentions the colorful clothes A boy dressed in red pants, white shirt and blue helmet and googles steppe out of the cockpit and onto the drop ladder on the left side. (14). Bentley is one very close friend of him, they met on the street and he was also affected by the virus but got cured by Doctor Tachyon. Even though Bentley got cured, he still helps Croyd a lot when he is going through all those crazy changes on his body. For enclose, I believe Wild Cards can make a hero been seen as a real when based on Stan Lee words. Jetboy was a perfect example of that, mostly on THE SLEEPR history in my option, where he has super powers and have also friends, family and a normal life. On the first history he was a hero for sure, but he had an ability that maybe any human being if trained would also acquire, different on THE SLEEPER, where he was affected and was lucky enough to be alive and have super ... • 5. Toyota Production System Theory Essay Just in time is also referred to as just in time production. It is a method in which projected mainly at reducing flow times within production system of an organization as well as response times from suppliers and to customers. The major advantage of utilizing this theory is that it moderates materials usage as well as raw material wastage. This approach aids in customizing the vehicle as per the demand of the client and expectation. The main disadvantage of applying just in time is that the clients may have certain expectations and they are unsure of how the appearance of the final product will look like. This theory makes the customer wait for the final product to be delivered hence cannot be certain if the final product will be liked by the client (Schmidt, Simchi Levi, 2013). The Toyota Production System (TPS) theory is defined as an original manufacturing philosophy whose main aim is to eliminate waste and achieve the best possible efficiency in an organization. Advantages of TPS is that this production system helps to improve the quality of the product at every stage of the assembly line. The disadvantage of using TPS is that this process can be time consuming, and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 7. Lizzie Borden Investigation The research paper I am conducting is on Lizzie Borden who was accused of murdering her father and stepmother in 1892 with a hatchet. Due to failed investigation and lack of technology at the time, Lizzie was released and acquitted of all charges. In this paper I will point out what the police did not do properly during the investigation, as well as what I would have done differently. Lizzie Borden s story had red flags that police and investigation should have caught on to. The first being, that when police interviewed Lizzie about what had happened that day she gave inconsistent stories. Second being, that she said I heard a groan or a scraping noise before entering the house . Later she changed to say she heard nothing and entered the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Andrew Borden estate was worth $300,000 dollars, which as of 2016 would be $7,901,111. This was a lot of money during the late 1800 s. Lizzie was reported to have arguments with her father regarding a property settlement over the divorce between Andrew and Mrs. Borden. If the investigation was in my hands, I would have thoroughly questioned Lizzie, and requested a full physiological evaluation. I would have also tried to submit the hatchet into evidence, proving that the split in the skull could match that of a hatchet. The repetitive Hatchet blows to the back of Abby Borden s head shows it was killing out of rage. The only person to have shown signs of animosity towards these individuals was Lizzie Borden. The dispute over property of a wealthy man as Andrew Borden, the dislike people had for him, the divorce Lizzie went through, and her father killing her pet birds leads me to believe there was a motive. The double murder of Andrew and Abby Borden still remains unsolved. The police could have done a better job investigating and the evidence showing Lizzie being linked should have been enough to charge her but this is a period of time when forensics was at its infancy and if there was no weapon there was no crime. The money involved could have brought rise to Lizzie to plot the death for inheritance. We will never ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Boston Tea Party During The American Revolution Boston tea party During the American Revolution The Boston Tea Party refers to the political protest initiated by the Sons of Liberty on 16th December, 1773 in Boston (Savelle Labaree, 1966). The protestors, disguised often as American Indians, dumped the entire tea shipment into the Boston Harbor sent by East India Company into the water. This protest was in reaction and showing the noncooperation towards the Tea Act enacted on 10th May, 1773. In reaction to this event, the British government showed a harsh response and this escalated the American Revolution. The Boston Tea Party has become an iconic episode of the American history, and some other political and governmental protests for instance the Tea Party movements after 2010 overtly refer to the event. Throughout out the British America, Colonists protested against the Tea Act, and the reason for their objection was grounded on the belief that such act violated the rights of Englishmen as they believed on No taxation without representation, which meant that they could only be taxed by their own nominated representatives rather than the British parliament (Carp, 2012). Protesters had effectively prevented the taxed tea unloading in other three colonies. However in Boston, Thomas Hutchinson the royal governor refused the return of tea shipment to the Britain. • 9. Football Is A Popular Sport Essay Football is a game that has a major impact on the fans, cities, and history of multiple teams and organizations. Many can connect to the game on an emotional basis and that is why football is such a popular sport today. There have been a lot of people that have contributed to this sport from the beginning to today s time. They have helped create a basis for the game (rules, field length, field goal size, etc.), decide how to crown a champion, and start organizations to help athletes. There have also been multiple coaches that have played major roles in leading their team and progressing the game to what it is today. While coaches play an important role, there are also individual games that have shaped the way the game is played along with the rules. Each of these things have been key and instrumental in progressing the game through time while building one of the most beloved and popular sports of today s time, and Football is a game that will have a long future ahead of it. Before talking about where football came from one must first look at what sport it evolved from. When the sport first began it was similar to rugby, which had been around for quite some time at that point. Football began to evolve through time to an extent that it is being played in public schools across the country and also gaining a worthy following. Then came along Walter Camp, the football coach at Yale from 1888 1892 and Stanford from 1892 1894. While Camp attended Yale he actually played ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Vygotsky s Theory On Cognitive Development Essay ⅓ of a page on vygotsky Lev Semionovich Vygotsky was a Russian psychologist and constructivist learning theorist who was known for arguing against the theories of psychologist Jean Piaget. Piaget believed that in order for any learning to occur there had to development within the individual first, but Vygotsky argued the contrary. He argued that in order for development to occur, the individual would first have to have learning take place through instruction and example in a given appropriate environment. Vygotsky s theory on cognitive development is centralized on two key ideas known as scaffolding and the zone of proximal development which will be explored in this essay and how they contribute to the classroom. ½ scaffolding Scaffolding is defined by Educational Psychology, 8th edition as: Support for learning and problem solving; might include clues, reminders, encouragement, breaking the problem down into steps, providing an example, or anything else that allows the student to grow in independence as a learner (45). The key concepts of scaffolding in the zone of proximal development is how Vygotsky believed the most learning can take place as the students are amongst peers whose private speech can be discussed among one another to come to new conclusions. • 12. Analysis Of The Book From The Brain By Tobias Wolff Perhaps we do not realize the impact of the petty things we have experienced when life itself flashes before our eyes. Even though our lives are composed of countless moments to remember, sometimes we do not understand how they slowly shape who we are and how we see the world. This is what Tobias Wolff suggests in his short story, Bullet in the Brain . The story focuses on the internal journey of a man named Anders when his life comes to a close. A well crafted look into the memories of Anders gives readers distaste for all he takes for granted and demonstrates his lack of sympathy. The story begins with Anders in line at a bank. After one of the tellers closes her line and all the patrons become impatient, two bank robbers with guns enter the bank. The robbers cuff the security guard and begin demanding money from the tellers. Anders makes too many sarcastic and critical comments, and as a consequence, one of the bank robbers shoots him in the head with a pistol. The entire second part of the short story focuses on the thoughts Anders experiences as the bullet travels through his brain. The narrator begins to discuss many seemingly irrelevant memories from his life, and surfaces how he does not think about or remember any of those moments as his life comes to a close. Instead, the narrator ends the story with Anders recalling a time from his childhood where him and his friends were playing baseball, and tells how a particular phrase his friend uses makes him feel aroused. ... We get to witness the marriage of our children, the birth of our grandchildren or great grandchildren, and hopefully enjoy the fruits of our labor during retirement. There are some negative parts to aging as well. Friends and family pass on or move away, the excitement of the workforce is replaced with endless numbers of unscheduled days, and even your closest allies, such as a spouse, may move on in divorce or death. The Heart Of Evil In Shakespeare s King Lear Shakespeare s King Lear In The Tragedy of King Lear, Shakespeare depicts a knot of characters, each of whom is intent on achieving his or her aims by any means necessary. The main protagonist King Lear is at the heart of evil in the play, as David Beauregard asserts (204). Lear irresponsibly divides his kingdom, gives it away to emerging chaos, and behaves as a tyrant throughout the play. In Lear, Shakespeare creates a complex character, which deserves the misfortunes that he brings upon himself. However, Edmond, the illegitimate son of the Earl of Gloucester, is an outright villain. His misdeeds are the cunningly planned crimes, unlike Lear s impertinent mistreatment of the people. Beauregard further defines the injustice described in King Lear as the result of human evil (217). This play s tragedy is not in Lear s pitiful position, but in the malign state of mind of people who manipulate others, as Lear and Edmond. In the first scene of the play, Gloucester introduces Edmond to the Earl of Kent as his favorite son (1.1.15 16). Still, Edmond is not content with his father s love and recognition. The field of counseling takes many forms and offers many career options, from school counseling to marriage and family therapy. For my research two psychological approaches, Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and Person Centered Psychology, will be critically analyzed and discussed in depth in order to compare the techniques as well as effectiveness of each. Foundation of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy was developed by Sigmund Freud during the Victorian Era in Vienna, Austria. Sigmund Freud s psychological works set the base for the profession of psychology as well as the practice of modern psychotherapy. Freud believed human behavior was motivated by intrapsychic conflict stemming from the three areas of the subconscious: id, ego, and superego (Murdock, 2009). Freud s psychoanalytic approach to therapy had more of a negative view of human nature that Carl Rogers view. Freud thought human dysfunction developed as a result of poor genetic make up, as well as deficits (fixations) caused by missed psychosexual developmental stages. The paramagnetic salt is suspended by a thread in a tube containing a low pressure of gaseous helium to provide thermal communication with the surrounding bath of pumped helium. In operation the liquid helium bath is cooled by pumping to the lowest practical pressure, usually achieving a temperature in the neighborhood of 1oK. The temperature of the paramagnetic salt approaches that of the helium bath by conduction through the exchange gas. Next the magnetic field is turned on, causing heating of the salt and a decrease in entropy of the magnetic ions by virtue of their partial alignment in the direction of the applied field. The heat produced is conducted to the surrounding bath of liquid helium so that the temperature again approaches 1oK. If the magnetic field is increased slowly the heat can flow out, as it is generated the magnetization being almost isothermal. Next the exchange gas surrounding the sample is removed by pumping, and now, with the salt thermally isolated, the magnetic field is turned off. The temperature of the sample decreases markedly as a consequence of the adiabatic demagnetization, which allows the magnetic ions to regain some of their entropy at the ... Could this story s setting be changed to modern day Savannah or another small town in America and still have the same life that A Rose for Emily gives to the readers? This story must take place at this time because of the changing from a broken Nation to a new unified United States. What I believe to happen is that she never learned to cope with the death of her father then when she found someone to replace her father with she never wanted him to leave. To find out some ways that the normal human copes with the loss of a close family member I looked at the American Psychological Association. According to the APA the normal human copes by talking the death of a family member out with family and reaching out to help others (American Psychological Association). I believe that she dealt with the death of her father by reaching out to fill the void with another being. The obsession that is spoken about in this story is mainly the obsession of love and the past. Emily has caring family that passes and then has a man who deserted her (Faulkner 83). She always wanted to feel loved but would always lose that love. The house she was in represented the love that her father showed. When Homer Barron tries to leave Miss Emily it is implied that she buys the Arsenic from the druggist to kill him. When the druggist asks her what it is for and she simply looked back at him, erect with her face like a strained flag ; it is clear that she was not using it ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The first rule is to think before you do things. A lot of people in horror movies scream while running away, but that just helps the killer find you. Not a lot of people call the police when there is a killer watching them. There are perfectly working phones right next to them, but they never use them. The housing market was struggling to recover three years after the financial crisis, increasing foreclosures. Occupy Wall Street arose in response to the middle class people who are getting battered by economic forces beyond their control, while elites in the private and public sector prospered.
