Rocky Blboa Persuasive Speech
Summary Despite having never seen this movie, I have seen this scene hundreds upon hundreds of
times. I listen to this speech before every game I play. This is an all around great pre game pump up
speech. The coach talks to his team before a big game. He is telling them that the difference between
winning and losing (living and dying) is just inches. In football, they may literally be fighting for
inches, but in reality, it s not about the inches. It s about the effort. Having both played and coached
sports, I appreciate the message the coach is sharing. Overall, I just really love this speech.
Credibility The speaker established his credibility by showing his character. The speaker (coach)
seemed to care about his players and their success. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The speaker sounded so strong and sincere which made him feel relatable. This ultimately made me
want to support him and listen to what he had to say.
Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2
Summary I ve never seen Harry Potter so I m not entirely sure what happened to lead up to this speech
being given. A guy named Neville Longbottom is standing up to the bad guy without a nose. At first it
appeared that Harry Potter was dead, and Neville was talking about death and how great of a person
Harry was, then Harry woke up and a fight broke out.
Credibility I have no idea what type of person Neville Longbottom is, but based on the way he talked
about Harry Potter he seemed like a nice and sincere guy. I m pretty sure Harry Potter was well liked,
so it should have been pretty easy to get people to rally together to support something in Harrys honor.
I believe that Neville established his credibility by using his character.
Reasoning Neville uses reasoning from principle. He states that people die every day. Therefore,
Harry Potter s death should not be the end of the world. He uses this reasoning to try and convince the
audience that Harry s death will not stop

Financial Ratios Of Pepsico Inc Essay
The calculation of ratios is the calculation technique for analyzing a company s financial performance
that divides or standardize one accounting measure by another economically relevant measure.
Financial ratios can be used as a tool to demonstrate financial statement users for making valid
comparisons of firm operating performance, over time for the same firm and between comparable
companies. External investors are mostly interested in gaining insights about a firm s profitability,
asset management, liquidity, and solvency. Table 1, below, will show financial ratios of PepsiCo Inc.
The table consists of 5 major elements. Profitability refers to how much income was generated by
PepsiCo Inc. Then, asset management refers to how effectively the invested assets were used in the
business by PepsiCo s management team. Liquidity and solvency are the related conception of
analyzing financial risk. Liquidity refers to the ability of PepsiCo Inc. to generate cash and is often
considered a good indication of the company s ability to pay its short term obligations; while,
solvency generally refers to the ability of company to repay its outstanding long term obligation.
Lastly, ROE Model Framework is the return on equity and reveals that a firm s ROE can be
decomposed into the three component ratios of return on sales, asset turnover, and financial leverage
which will be used for sustainable growth rate later. Google s financial ratios are showed in table 2.
The table also has the

The Government Is A System Of The Dual Federalism
Federalism has numerous levels of government in which each of them have their own self governing
authority over some of the policy areas. It helps in balancing the power between the national and
subunit governments. Various forms of the government are being observed internationally, including
the confederation and unitary government. The Confederal government was the very first form of
government the United States had that is held under the Articles of Confederation; in which the states
hold the authority over a limited national government. The most common form of government
throughout the world is the unitary government in which the national and centralized government
holds the ultimate authority. If there was no form of federal government, each individual state would
face problems that may affect multiple states. This would lead a central government to come up with a
mutual solution that would be beneficial to all the states across the nation or to the ones that need it
most. Some scholars believe that the American government is a system of the dual federalism. This
simply means that the national and state governments have control over unique spheres of policy.
Others believe it to be a shared or cooperative federalism in which means that both the governments
work together in all areas of the policy, or supply their services to the citizens. The balance of power
between the states and the federal government of the United States constantly shifts back and forth

The Pleasures Of Antiquity By Jonathan Scott Summary
About Grand Tour In the document The Pleasures of Antiquity by Jonathan Scott, the author talks
about Englishmen during period of Grand Tour. He goes in more dept about Charles Townley, who
was one of the representative of the Grand Tour era and devoted to antique art works. Jonathan Scott
explains the details about what Charles Townley bought and whom he bought them from, stories about
relationships between the sellers and Townley, and what he did to his collection of art works. Then he
talks broadly about Grand Tour of upper class Englishmen after Townley s death and Napoleon
conquering Rome. After death of Townley and conquering of Napoleon of Rome, many Englishmen
collected Antique art works without caring about the details of the works nor prices of the works, but

The author states about how Townley had certain standards like he did not desire the statues made of
marbles to be grind to make the statues look smooth or damaged (Scott 200). Unlike Townley, those
Englishmen, who were connoisseurs during Napoleonic era, bought any art works that were called or
claimed antique even if the prices were ridiculously high. Moreover, Townley made museum like
homes to share his interest of antique arts with other citizens and fellow enlightened men. Also, he
carefully planned and placed art works/statues in his house to make them look more aesthetically
pleasing and balanced. On the other hand, British connoisseurs did not care about the placement of the
statues, but only cared to have the statues to show that they are upper class or connoisseurs who
collect valuable antique art works (Scott 209). Author expresses the contrasts of the collecting antique
between Townley and his fellow friends to the British connoisseurs, after death of these enlightened

Elizabeth Garrett Anderson
Elizabeth Garrett Anderson is often considered to be one of the most significant women in the history
of medicine and society, her work is often considered to be a turning point in history. She refused to
accept a domestic role and who fought to change the prevalent Victorian attitude that women and men
could not be equal. She was the first female doctor in Britain, helped to establish the women s suffrage
movement, and provided inspiration to her contemporaries and to those who followed in her footsteps.

Eventually, she enrolled as a nurse at Middlesex Hospital and attended lectures given to the male
student doctors. This lasted only a few months, as the students complained about her attendance when
she started to outshine them in lectures. However, they didn t stop her, she continued to persevere.
This is an example of the attitude barriers that Garrett Anderson had to overcome in order to achieve
her goal, as women, again as stated before, were often held back due to the arrangement in society.
Elizabeth worked extremely hard to work through all the negative aspect that came along with
achieving this profession; it was her drive and ambition that sailed her through.
She turned to private study and was taught anatomy at the London Hospital and general medicine
under the tuition of professors at St Andrews University and Edinburgh University Extra Mural
School (Brooks 13 15). None of this would have been possible without the continued financial and
moral support of her father. In order to practice medicine, Garrett had to gain a qualifying diploma.
London University, the Royal Colleges of Physicians and Surgeons and other examining bodies
refused to allow her to sit their examinations, but she discovered that the Society of Apothecaries did
not specifically ban women from taking their exams. In 1865 Elizabeth went on to pass the

Setting Boundaries And Ethical Considerations With Clients...
Setting Boundaries and Ethical Considerations with Clients in Treatment Groups
As a social worker and facilitator of a treatment group, you off handedly remarked that you were
going to give away a bunch of clothes that you have had stored and haven t worn. A treatment group
member hears this and asks that you give the clothes to him or her. Do you give them to her or him?
Why or why not? Which NASW Code of Ethics does this situation relate to? If the client is in need of
the clothes then I do not think it would be violating any codes because they need them because they do
not have clothes or need something to wear to say a job interview, however, because this could be
taken out of context such as having a dual relationship with a client. I would ask the agency that I
work for if it is alright to give the clothes to a client that needs them and if not then I would donate
them. Giving a client clothes may be seen as having both a professional relationship and social
relationship with the client, however, it is not because the clothes were offered because the client had
an immediate need. Boundary issues need to be looked at closely because all of them are not always
unethical such as running into clients at the grocery store or sporting events as one example.
Code 1.06 Conflicts of Interest
C. Social workers should not engage in dual or multiple relationships with clients or former clients in
which there is a risk of exploitation or potential harm to

What Is Aladdin Ascribed Status
Aladdin is known as a street rat because of how he appears , not because of what he has done. The
character Aladdin has an ascribed status because he was born into poverty . Because of this he is
treated very poorly.Due to his status people treat him the way they do because of the status symbols
they do see for example his clothes and the way he speaks. Due to these things he is always targeted
and shunned. Another scene in the movie shows a prince on his way to meet Princess Jasmine to take
her hand in marriage. On the way, he almost runs over two small children that are playing with his
horse. Instead of being concerned for nearly killing the children, the prince takes out his whip to
punish them for being in his path. Aladdin sees what

Arrow Of God District 9 Comparison
Arrow of God written by Chinua Achebe is set in the 1920 s located in Nigeria. The book focuses on
the main character Ezeulu, the Igbo people s chief priest. Throughout the text we see Ezeulu have
conflicts with other tribes and with Christian missionaries, get sent to prison for denying a position
from the British, and Ezeulu having difficulties within his own tribe and their yam harvest (Achebe).
All the events that happened in Arrow of God lead to a much deeper meaning. If we take a look at a
look at the very complex film District 9 produced by Peter Jackson, we see a very different but similar
story. This is a mockumentary type film that explores the life of a MNU executive, an alien and his
son, the Nigerian gang, and a mercenary soldier employed by MNU (IMDb). In both stories, Arrow of
God and District 9, there are very blunt patterns of fiction, distinct archetypes, and prominent
philosophies used. The stories above are two different types of media, with similar content. Both book
and movie shows a tribe being pushed out of their home, in almost the same way. In both stories we
see patterns of fiction, which is when a reader is introduced to a character and some event or a
challenge occurs. In Arrow of God, Ezeulu is faced with a difficult decision towards the end of the
story. We call this The Choice. Ezeulu is faced with the decision to allow his tribe to participate in the
New Yam Feast, but instead tells them not to and famine strikes the

Mia s Journey In The Epic Of Beowulf
The Gulf Mia had been sailing in the water with her family for as long as she could remember. In fact,
she was positive that she had learned to sail long before she had even learned to walk. As an early
birthday gift, she had inherited her uncle s 50ft sailboat and she was ready to take it into the gulf.
Weather reports suggested clear skies for the next few days and Mia was eager to finally take control
of the reigns and sail a boat on her own. Of course, her favorite person in the world would be
accompanying her on this trip. Evelyn came around the corner of the dock, wearing an old pair of
overalls and dragging a large duffel bag behind her. Evelyn was Mia s best friend. They had known
each other since elementary school, and now they were about to graduate high school. Although
Evelyn had a fear of the gulf, the thought of Mia sailing alone for a few days terrified her much more.
So now using their combined strength, the two girls loaded their supplies onto the boat, and Mia
proceeded to release the sailboat from its chains. Since it was her first time alone in the water, without
the assistance of her father or uncle, Mia had made sure to map out the area that the girls would ...

failed as the sailboat was jerked around by the strong currents and in a moments time, was sent
through a sharp boulder peeking from beneath the gulf. Evelyn let out a shrill scream and held onto
the walls of the bunker. Mia was flung into the rails of the boat, and she realized that she no longer

Fahrenheit 451 Unit 9 Final Project
The mid August heat is blazing as crews break down the temporary stage from last night s concert.
The stage was set in what looks to be almost a half mile long and football field wide dry river bed. I
can see the appeal of placing a stage here with the Aventine and Palatine Hills on each side to
accommodate hundreds of thousands of spectators who would be able to see the stage. Once the stage
is broken down this prime real estate in the middle of Rome, Italy will serve as a large park, but it was
not always this way, the same reasons this park is used for concerts today is why the Circus Maximus
was constructed here in the Valley of Murcia, Rome. The Circus Maximus began with the Valley of
Murcia being used much as it is today. A small stream which ran off the Tiber river would dry enough
to race around the banks. The natural rise of the land on the sides of the valley allowed spectators to
sit. It was not until King Romulus created the first raised wooden seating that the Circus Maximus as

were its biggest opposition requiring constant reconstruction. It is believed that the threat of fire
caused Emperor Trajan to rebuild the Circus in the newly discovered concrete, marble, stone, and only
the top section in wood. It was he who had the spina built connecting the two metae to represent the
broken spine of the enemies of Rome with the obelisk placed by Emperor Augustus as the center

fabrics to fashion designers around the world, including Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Italy, although the
major market is still in the U.S. They are looking to expand the production aspect of their business
into china as it low operating costs, sits in a free trade zone and has more relaxed rules on chemicals
used and imported in the region.
Helen Martin founder and creator of L.A. Silks tasks George Liscomb with reaching out to the
Chinese government and considering setting up a factory there. Eventually Liscomb gets in contact
with Li Fuming a director in the Buildings Department in the Shenzhen District Government. This is
the point at which the commutations struggles begin. This is the point in the case study in which is
clearly becomes an example to look at a completely unrealistic to how something would happen in the
real world. Liscomb s first letter is a short one page letter with very little explanation of exactly what
he needs or what his intentions are. Before this letter would have even been drafted there are so many
people who he could have reached out to for more information. He could have contacted other

Summary Of C. S. Lewis The Screwtape Letters
Do you ever tire of reading stories were the good guys always win? If so, The Screwtape Letters is the
book to read. C.S. Lewis portrays his good guy as a demon named Screwtape who has a young
apprentice named Wormwood. In the story, Wormwood has the task of tempting The Patient and
making sure that he goes to Hell. Throughout the book, Screwtape tries to advise Wormwood on how
to tempt successfully. All is going well for Wormwood until The Patient becomes a Christian and turns
his life over to the Enemy . Screwtape initially tells Wormwood that all will be okay and explains to
him that it can be a simple fix. Unfortunately for Wormwood, things do not turn out to be so simple
and ultimately Wormwood fails to ensure The Patient s eternal damnation. The punishment for the
apprentice was to become Screwtape s dinner. Although one can be distracted by the intriguing
plotline, there are many things that can be found throughout the story. To name some extracurricular
items that can be found: Anthropology, bibliology, Christology, theology, and soteriology. ... Show

Anthropology can be simply defined as the study of human beings. How does the study of human
beings play into The Screwtape Letters? Throughout the Screwtape Letters there is a great deal of
craftiness on the part of Wormwood and Screwtape. Much of this craftiness is geared toward their
assumptions of human nature. Screwtape believes that by exploiting the weaknesses of humans they
can lead anyone to Hell. This turns out to be quite true in most cases. The only struggle that Screwtape
faces is the Enemy . The Enemy empowers The Patient to resist the temptations laid before him by
Screwtape and Wormwood. Though The Patient does resist the temptations presented to him he is not
perfect. The Patient does mess up but then is forgiven by the Enemy and returns even stronger. As it is
seen, anthropology is a key factor in the story of The

Semantic Changes And Its Effects On Class Conflict
It has been noted that while considering changing word meanings is vital to the diachronic study of
language, the notion and practice of studying them has been historically belittled as an intellectual
pursuit. Semantic change is often irregular and arbitrary as a concept, as its causes are wide ranging
and multi faceted. However, critics such as Willem B. Hollmann now give weight and notoriety to
studying semantics synchronically . By considering individual cases, one can explain some word
changes and apply common rules. These often occur intra linguistically or through common social or
political changes, especially surrounding class conflict. However, although we can catalogue the
semantic change of similar or groups of words, word ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Originally from the Germanic fōt, and used to describe the lowest extremity of the human form, the
link was made around the 1300s to describe imagined feet of objects such as the foot of the hill . This
can also be shown in words of a similar lexical field, such as head, linking to head of the table
etcetera. The fact these words are related and their new meanings are linked would have been
significant to Stephen Ullmann. Whilst several scholars have attempted to theorise the nature of
semantics, it is Ulmann s structuralism approach (1957, 1962) that is most recently notable. His belief
was that words can be divided into semantic fields and if a word fell into the same field as one whose
meaning had changed, the former word s change could be predicted to be similar . Whilst there are
flaws in Ulmann s theory (such as it is difficult to differentiate between why a word changes and how
it changes in a lexical field), it can be applied to situations where the metaphorical link exists over an
extended period of time. A key established example of a semantic field cited by George Walkden is
that of time as money . In this case a stimulus the saying time is money has prompted growth of
multiple meanings of cost, spend and borrow in recent years, relating not only to financial transactions
but also gains and losses in time. A further example is the word wit. Whilst it stemmed from the Old
English gewit(t), it was centered around the

Thermo catalytic Degradation of Waste Polythene into lubricants using Zeolite
Mr. Amol Vagad Department of Instrumentation Engineering,

Mumbai, India amolvagad@gmail.com ABSTRACT: Waste polythene primarily in the form of used
polythene bags, comprises of most of the plastic pollution caused in India. Many processes have been
developed to combat this issue which includes pyrolysis and catalytic cracking. This paper states an
experiment that was carried out using catalytic cracking using Zeolite (ZSM 5). The catalyst in
presence of heat helped to break down the polymer molecules. The experiment gave a product which
consisted of 80% grease. The obtained product can be used for various industrial and domestic
applications where lubrication is required. The recyclable nature of the catalyst makes this process
efficient, affordable as well as environment friendly.

Too much Tolerance Essay
Too much Tolerance
Dogmatic Tolerance = Hypocritical
Tolerance. It is a word synonymous with peace, good will, brotherly love, acceptance and forgiveness.
It is a virtue that is essential in a world filled with racial and religious discrimination. But at the same
time tolerance, or, more specifically, the modern, politically correct definition of tolerance, holds some
very dangerous pitfalls which, if our government, and we, as a people are not careful of, could be
crippling to the individualism, and the religious diversity of Canada, and the world.
The dictionary definition of tolerance is: The capacity for, or the practice of recognizing and
respecting the beliefs or practices of others , but the definition has become much, ... Show more

But incompatibility will be wiped away, and anything that is sure, or real will be snuffed out as narrow
mindedness.
You see, complete tolerance is impossible. By being so dogmatically tolerant as to state that there is
no complete truth, is to, because of the nature of that statement, exclude, or be intolerant towards those
whose beliefs state otherwise. Complete tolerance is an oxymoron, and is incompatible with many
religious beliefs including Christianities, whose bible clearly states that it is the only true religion . In
that case, total tolerance is not only impossible, it also limits the ability of many to worship fully in
their religion. The government is passing through various bills and amendments that are pushed
through in the name of tolerance, but, in fact, according to the true definition if it is still permissible to
say such a thing these bills are decreasing the amount of tolerance that our government has towards
groups whose ideas qualify as hate literature.
That is why we need to act. Tolerance is good, but tolerance under the label that society has given it
will become harmful to the public, and to the church. Racism is horrible, yes. Religious discrimination
is illegitimate, of course. Words and names such as Apartheid , the Catholic Crusades and Bloody
Mary will not be forgotten or missed, but if our path continues down the road it is traveling, tolerance
will be grouped into a section of the English language that

A Comprehensive Analysis behind the Law and Ethics of the Shelf Life Extension Program
Background
Within the last two decades, the United States has witnessed a dramatic increase in bioterrorism,
including Sarin gas attacks in Tokyo, the anthrax attacks post September 11th (Bodas, et al., 2012). To
prepare for a potential bioterrorism attack, or large scale national emergency, large supplies of
pharmaceuticals and medical supplies are stockpiled (Lyon, Taylor, Porter, Prasanna, Hussain, 2006).
This stockpiling of medical supplies is a crucial aspect of the Medical Readiness Strategic Plan,
established under the Department of Defense Health Affairs and the Military Medical Departments
(Lyon, Taylor, Porter, Prasanna, Hussain, 2006) MORE
Contrariwise to national preparedness, preserving large quantities of medical supplies and medications
can be costly, and frequent replacement of resources due to manufacturer shelf life expiration dates
has proven to be a great challenge.
Historical Perspective
In 1981, the United States Military began stockpiling large quantities of critical pharmaceuticals and
medical supplies (Khan, et al., 2014). Following an audit of the stockpile in 1985, the Government
Accountability Office found that $9 million of medications were about to reach their labeled
expiration date, and would need to be discarded (Khan, et al., 2014). This audit exposed the
extraordinary costs associated with the replacement of expired medications, and in an effort to

Monologue In The Messenger
Markus Zusak s, The Messenger features the protagonist Ed Kennedy, and how he completed each
mission of aces; diamonds, clubs, spades and hearts. The suit of spades was symbolic to Ed s overall
mission as Ed had to dig through truths about himself. Before the suit of spades Ed s thought of
himself was that he was worth nothing, evident through the narration of Ed s monologue. The suit of
spades saw Ed wanting more for his life, evident through the characterisation of Ed, the changes in his
monologue. The start of the novel Ed s narration and dialogue of himself showed that Ed believed he
did not deserve happiness, to be better, to love that he would amount to nothing. The very first
introduction of what how Ed saw himself was when he ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That if he wanted to be better, happy and loved he first would have to see himself in a happy, loved
and better light. Each mission saw Ed bring something to someone else but spades was the final trial I
need to dig myself out of (282). Therefore spades was symbolic as it saw Ed change his opinion on
himself, recognising that he had to do something, if he wanted to be more than nothing. I d rather
chase the sun than wait for it (306), and If I ever leave this place... I ll make sure I m better here first
(307). Both these quotes show how Ed s mind frame has shifted from accepting that he was nobody to
wanting to be something. The use of the pronoun I emphasises the fact that Ed accepts that he has to

1. a) What is the rationale of founders of (product) Red?
Their main reason for creating Product Red was to raise awareness and money for the Global Fund by
teaming up with the world s most iconic brands to products that would be sold. A percentage of each
product sold would be donated to the Global Fund to help women and children affected by pandemics
such HIV/AIDS and malaria. A basket of consumer goods were launched to this effect which included

The author also raises the point that despite numerous charitable efforts towards Africa in the last five
decades, Africa has gone from poor to poorer. This gives the impression that social responsibility, as it
were, is not being done ethically. The author is also of the thought that a free market capitalism on its
own has done far much better in alleviating poverty in the developing world/countries if it is left to act
on its own without marketing forces and humanitarian groups working in counter parallelism.
The author is also of the thought that the two initiatives (that is, Product Red and Red Gap) are
deviating from their main mission of company profitability maximization which compromises
shareholder value, as these companies are now against the idea of capitalism which they view as
immoral and they hence believe a profit making end should be expiated by an occasional show of real
goodness (donating to charity).
Campaigns as Product Red according to the author, accommodate the belief that globalization is an
evil business practice, of which the author thinks to the contrary.
The author also highlights that it s not private companies prerogative to pursue charitable causes at the
expense of shareholder value maximization, as this is

Lesson 3 Essay Questions
Lesson 3 Essay Questions: 1. Compare and contrast directional selection and disruptive selection and
provide an example of each. Both directional and disruptive selection is a type of natural selection.
Natural selection is the differential survival and/or reproduction of organisms as a function of their
physical attributes. (phenotype) This results in evolution over many generations. Each mode of
selection alters the mean or variance of a phenotypic trait in a population or species. These
distributions can be represented in bell curves. Both selection processes can be influenced by human
interaction. Directional Selection occurs when an extreme phenotype at one end of a population
distribution is favored over all other ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jaws are believed to evolved from the first pair of gill arches. The presence of jaws permits a
predatory lifestyle. Early bony fishes or lobed finned fishes had lungs. Amphibians were the first
group to have jointed appendages and to invade land. Amphibian means living both on land and in
water. Besides the jointed limbs they have other features that are not seen in the fishes. Eyelids that
keep the eye moist, sound producing larynx, and ears adapted to pick up sound waves. Amphibians
have a great variety of reproductive strategies. This variety as well as the adaptations noted above
made them successful colonizers of the land environment. Reptile are the next step in the evolutionary
tree of chordates. The most outstanding adaptation of reptiles is that they have a means of
reproduction suitable to a land existence, Fertilization is internal and the female lays leathery , flexible
shelled eggs. The amniotic egg made development on land possible and eliminated the need for a
water environment during development. Birds are considered feathered reptiles. They share a common
ancestor with the crocodile. Nearly every anatomical feature of a bird can be related to its ability to
fly. Birds lay a hard shelled amniotic egg rather than the leathery egg of other reptiles. Mammals are
amniotes as well and share a common ancestor with the reptiles. However they represent a

Reflection Of A Play Amadeus
On November 30, 2017, I viewed a play called Amadeus, from the comfort of my home. Didn t think I
would like it seeing that this would be my first time ever seeing a play like this one. I was thinking to
myself am I going to like it, will I be able to sit through the whole play without being bored.
Within the first couple of seconds, I was amazed at how the characters from the start of the play really
drew me in with their chanting and the two characters going on and on about the tale of Antonio
Salieri. I liked how they went back and forth about what they heard and who they heard it from. Those
two in my opinion really set the play in motion and gave just enough insight on Salieri to have you on
your toes. In my mind I m asking the same questions, did Salieri really poison Mozart and if so why to
tell it now? I m really into it now just from the first couple minutes.
There wasn t a lot of props which I thought was a great idea, seeing that too many props couple draw
the attention away from the characters. The play had it s really dark moments, like when Salieri first
came on he seems very depressed and angry. My thoughts on Salieri is that he seemed very bitter and
insane but the actor playing Salieri really brought this character to life. He never lost my attention and
seemed very live throughout the entire scene. All the characters did an amazing job and the costumes
really set the time frame. I just have one question, did the men in those times really wear a lot of

Introduction
Deciding on a career is an important life decision. In order to make an educated decision, reflection on
what you want your life to be like is necessary. I would like a job where I can utilize my interest in
math and science, have the opportunity to research, create, and develop revolutionary ideas and

life outside of my job, which would mean I need a structured schedule that is not susceptible to

Essay On The Adjustment Bureau
The Adjustment Bureau, directed by George Nolfi, depicts an interesting idea of how the world works.
The story follows congressmen David Norris (Matt Damon) as he runs for office but also chases after
the love of his life. However, in this world free will does not exist. The adjustment bureau and the
chairman have a carefully written plan for every individual person on earth so that no catastrophes
erupt. David has to fight the bureau in order to get them to change his life course so that he can be
with Elise. This movie creates many complex questions about free will. If every movement and
interaction in our life is already planned out, but it isn t what you want, how can you fix it? Few
situations would give me the courage, determination, and endurance in order to convince the bureau to
change my life course. Love and situations that put others in danger are the only two conditions that

The North American Industry Classification System Essay
The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is the standard used by Federal
statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and
publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy. (North American Industry
Classification System, n.d.). NAICS is a 2 through 6 digit hierarchical classification system, offering
five levels of detail. Each digit in the code is part of a series of progressively narrower categories, and
the more digits in the code signify greater classification detail. The first two digits name the economic
sector, the third digit designates the subsector, the fourth digit designates the industry group, the fifth
digit designates the NAICS industry, and the sixth digit designates the national industry. The 5 digit
NAICS code is the level at which there is comparability in code and definitions for most of the
NAICS sectors across the three countries participating in NAICS (the United States, Canada, and
Mexico). The 6 digit level allows for the United States, Canada, and Mexico each to have country
specific detail. A complete and valid NAICS code has six digits (North American Industry
Classification System, n.d.).

The Effects Of Adaptation In Cell Diseases
Resistance induced via mutation in the DNA: Mutation in the genes that alters the activity of the drug,
resulting in cell survival increases resistance among previously susceptible populations (Jose et al.,
2015). Since, mutations in the genes may lead to an overall decreased in the fitness of the cells, these
mutations only occur in the presence of antimicrobial agents and are not frequent (Jose et al, 2015).
There are two types of mutations observed among two different population of Gram negative
including cocci and Bacillus. Recent studies have shown that the source of mutations in Gram
negative cocci is usually associated with the amino acid substitution in the PBPs sequences. The
substitutions mutation results in acquisition or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Conjugation is another mechanism through which bacteria transfer resistance genes among each other.
Conjugation uses mobile genetic elements (MGEs) such as plasmids and transposons as vehicles to
share valuable genetic information (Manson et al., 2010). Lastly, the use of integrons allows bacteria
to accumulate multiple resistance genes on their chromosomes (Jose et al., 2015). Integrons are site
specific recombination systems that recruit open reading frames in the form of mobile gene cassettes.
These mobile gene cassettes are then incorporated into the host chromosomes, resulting in the addition
of new genes along with appropriate machinery to ensure that the new genes are expressed adequately
in the host cell (Jose et al., 2015; Thomas et al., 2005).
Resistance via modification of the anti microbial compounds: Bacterial pathogens have evolved
strategies to chemically modify the antibiotics via the production of enzymes that adds specific
moieties to the compounds, inhibiting their therapeutic effects (Jose at al., 2015). These enzymes exert
their action through the process acetylation, phosphorylation and or adenylation to sterically hinder
the compound so it is no longer able to bind its target. Due to these biochemical reactions, the drug is
unable to bind its target sites and thus results in increased resistance and higher MICs among bacterial
populations (Wilson, 2014;

America Needs Censorship Essay
Being frustrated is disagreeable, but the real disasters in life begin when you get what you want. For
almost a century now, a great many intelligent, well meaning and articulate people have argued
eloquently against any kind of censorship of art and entertainment. Within the past twenty years,
courts and legislatures have found these arguments so persuasive that censorship is now a relative
rarity in most states.
Is there triumphant exhilaration in the land? Hardly. Somehow, things have not worked out as they
were supposed to, and many civil libertarians have said this was not what they meant. They wanted a
world in which Eugene O Neill s Desire under the Elms could be produced, or James Joyce s Ulysses
published, without interference. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That those who certainly know this are moved to deny it merely indicates how a dogmatic resistance
to the idea of censorship can result in a mindless insistence on the absurd.
For the plain fact is that we all believe that there is a point at which the public authorities ought to step
in to limit the self expression of an individual or a group. A theatrical director might find someone
willing to commit suicide on the stage. We would not allow that. And I know of no one who argues
that we ought to permit public gladiatorial contests, even between consenting adults.
No society can be utterly indifferent to the ways its citizens publicly entertain themselves. Bearbaiting
and cockfighting are prohibited only in part out of compassion for the animals; the main reason is that
such spectacles, were felt to debase and brutalize the citizenry who flocked to witness them. The
question with regard to pornography and obscenity is whether they will brutalize and debase our
citizenry. We are, after all, not dealing with one book or one movie. We are dealing with a general
tendency that is suffusing our entire culture.
Pornography s whole purpose, it seems to me, is to treat human beings obscenely, to deprive them of
their specifically human dimension. Imagine a well known man in a hospital ward, dying an agonizing
death. His bladder and bowels empty themselves of their own accord. His consciousness is

Chicanos And The Liberal Agenda
Chicanos and the Liberal Agenda In the early sixties, when times were of segregation, racism and
discrimination, Chicanos often suffered the most. It was a dark time for Mexican Americans, who
were negatively referred as Chicanos . Chicanos did not always have the empowered meaning it has
today. In the early sixties, Chicano was often used to refer to Mexican Americans as lower class,
ignorant and as a derogatory racial identification. Furthermore, racism, exploitation, inequality,
conformity and assimilation were all main factors of the early sixties liberal agenda. Chicanos often
faced numerous struggles as Mexican Americans were often exploited profoundly in the workplace.
Along with being exploited, Chicanos often face new threats like being fired, pay cuts, and ultimately
deportation due racism. Anglo societies were advanced due to the inequalities Chicanos faced from
education system and workplace. In addition, Chicanos who were proud to be brown or embraced
their culture, and practice their norms were often seen as outcast. The sixties main focus of the liberal
agenda was to conform the Mexican American. The liberal agenda attempt to make Chicanos deny
their culture and assimilate to the Anglo culture. However, Chicanos often did not assimilate and
conform. Chicanos often displayed their pride by dressing in their zoot zoot attires, speaking their

enhances in greater rate compared to biopolymer coagulant. The trend line of the graph also showed
the turbidity removal of alum increases as the increases the initial turbidity of lake water. This
distinctive shows that coagulation performance using alum as coagulant was greatly improved in lake
water. The reason for the effectiveness of alum coagulant was when alum molecules dissociate in

number of negatively charged suspended particles that present in high turbid water. Therefore, the
flocs will aggregate in the formation of bigger and denser flocs as can be seen in Figure

Essay about Eugenics
Taken from the Greek word eugenes meaning good in stock the term eugenics was coined in 1883 By
Francis Galton (1822 1911). Today it is defined by the OED as Pertaining or adapted to the production
of fine offspring, esp. in the human race. We will attempt to explain what eugenics was within in the
context of its time and how it was to be applied to humans. We will also attempt to identify who its
supporters were and the many different reasons why the eugenic doctrine appealed to them.

If this could be made to happen, there would be a golden age of eugenics in which the arts, politics,
science and society would flourish. He also believed that if his ideas were not taken up, the British
would degenerate. Galton named his system of eugenics practical Darwinism.
Studies showed that the underclass was breeding at a rapid rate. Encouraging the nations finest men
and women to reproduce with one another was not enough. To achieve the dream of a golden age of
eugenics, the fecund, beer sodden, work shy poor must be actively discouraged from procreating. In
an attempt to achieve their objective, eugenicists proposed a system: encouraging better stocks to
breed, choosing a mate by rational criteria and state sponsored motherhood. This was termed Positive
Eugenics. The tactics of discouraging the unfit from breeding by use of contraceptives, voluntary or
compulsory sterilization, institutionalisation, and the end of sentimental charity were components of
Negative Eugenics.
Eugenics offered a solution to the class issues and the problem of the urban poor, which had come to
dominate British thinking. It could provide a scientific way of dealing with the dangerous classes
whose inferiority could now be condemned as an inbred fault which could only be remedied by

A New Superintendent Of An Urban School District Essay
1. Issue
A new superintendent in an urban school district believes educators are trained to run schools and
should do so with the least amount of interference possible. For this reason, an ethical crisis arises
when the district decides whether or not to close a local high school. While public relations officers
want district administration to be as transparent as possible to remain honest and open, the
superintendent and other schoolboard members want to hold meetings with no media present. This
facts of this case will become clear through explication.
2. Relevant Facts:
This scenario takes place in a school district with 40 schools and 35,000 students. Its superintendent
accepted a state level position and was subsequently replaced. As families move to the suburbs, the
district financially struggles to keep all four of its high schools open and considers closing one. The
schoolboard approached the idea previously but faced backlash. Thus, administrators now try to
resolve the problem behind closed doors. The superintendent and the schoolboard s members has held
more than one meeting about closing the school without media or members of the public present.
During one of these meetings, the superintendent stated, If any reporters show up, I will change the
subject. Although a public relations officer was appalled, at this point he said nothing.

3) As the wetted perimeter increases, river velocity decreases.
4) The further from the source the stones deposited become smaller, smoother and more rounded.

Snickers Vs Twix Research Paper
Throughout many years there has been a debate between whether Snickers or Twix is the best candy
bar overall. When discussed, people have disputed on whether the flavors in the candy bars are tastier,
which candy bar is healthier, and which has more appeal in advertising.Even though Snickers and
Twix bars are made by the same company (Mars) they are very different. Snickers fans might say that
Snickers bars are the best because they have peanuts in the bar, this might be true for the majority
people, but not those with allergies. This evidence proves that Twix is the best candy bar.
One of the reasons that people think that Twix is the best candy bar is its overall appeal. Furthermore,

The Role Of Eugenics In The Twentieth Century
In the twentieth century, the eugenics movement assembled a powerful coalition of progressives,
intellectuals, and professionals to advocate an agenda of eugenic legal reform. This agenda centered
on the belief that many undesirable traits are hereditary and that the government should be permitted
to remove those traits from the racial stock. Those who were mentally disabled or ill, or belonged to
socially disadvantaged groups were the main targets for the movement. C.W. Saleeby once stated The
feeble minded, and the alcoholic, and the insane, and those afflicted with venereal disease, must be so
guarded and treated in the future that they shall not become parents at all. This disgusting and ignorant
way of thinking was how many eugenicists felt. Sadly, our government allowed these people to guard

The scary part is that many of them perceived their agenda of separating the classes as following the
objective logic of science. They were unable to see that their white privilege and economic privilege

permitting criminals and weaklings to reproduce. All over the country today we have enormous insane
asylums and similar institutions where we nourish the unfit and criminal instead of exterminating
them (Luther Burbank), however, both genetics and reality are far more complicated than that.
Brilliant parents do not produce brilliant children and criminals do not produce criminals. Eugenicists
also failed to realize that social conditions such as poverty and lack of access to education and health
care are much more likely to cause negative social outcomes than genetics. A couple questions I asked
myself was What s fair? and Who decides? Who determines what is desirable? One s color, education,

Special Education Inclusion
Parents never want to hear that their child has a life altering disability that will require additional
assistance with special services. Roughly thirteen percent of public school students are receiving
special education services. Barbara Boroson, a Scholastic author on Autism Spectrum Disorder, asks
the special education inclusion population, How has education evolved from exclusion to inclusion
(Boroson, 2017). The issues with special education inclusion have been going unnoticed for many
years and now is the time for a change. Special education inclusion is an issue because it bears against
social and educational values. People all around the world have tried to fix these issues, but their
attempts have been unsuccessful. They have tried making amendments to include special needs
students in general classrooms. They have also tried to create ways to individualize criteria for each
student. These attempted solutions have not created a final answer but led us to find the perfect way to
solve inclusion s problem.
The problem with special education inclusion is involved in the amount of education each student is
receiving. Putting students with special needs into a general education classroom is minimizing how
much they are actually learning. Distractions that come with special needs kids are not allowing other
students to fully participate and listen in class. Teachers can only do so much with what their school
districts allow, which leads to another problem.

The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas By Ursula Le Guin
In The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula Le Guin, the informally speaking narrator
depicts a cookie cutter utopia with perpetually happy citizens that sing and dance in the music filled
streets during the Festival of Summer. However, under one of the beautiful public buildings lays a
child, no older than ten years old, who lays in its own excrement. Although the citizens know the
emancipated child is there, they refuse to act upon the child s suffering, for their happiness depends
entirely on the child s abominable misery. Through ethos, the narrator illustrates this utopian society
with a casual tone and frequently asks the audience for their input. Le Guin s fairy tale introduction of
the story establishes her credibility through her extensive knowledge and understanding of the people
of Omelas. Le Guin utilizes logos through the narrator s second person point of view which incites the
audience to draw their own conclusions about the city of Omelas and question their own justifications
of the child s existence. The concept of the happiness of many relying on the necessary suffering of
one forces the reader to question their own morals and their justifications for the child s physical and
mental condition. Through ethos, logos, and pathos, Le Guin presents the contrast and divide between
the citizens of Omelas and the child in the cellar in order to challenge the reader s capacity for moral
self conception. The narrator, utilizing ethos, illustrates a fairy tale

arriving in America Ben was faced with several different obstacles, such as being faced with different
cultural backgrounds, different religious practices, and an all around different approach to life in
general. It is now 2016 and Ben is well on his way to success with his degree and is on his path
graduate school in pursuing his masters after Bluefield state. Recently, in an interview I was able to
talk with Ben and discuss his time here in America, some of the obstacles he was faced with upon
arriving here and how it has affected him during his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While interviewing Ben I also found many fascinating facts about Belgium and how their citizens live
their everyday lives. I had no idea how similar two countries could be to one another. As children, Ben
and I shared similar activates such as riding bicycles and playing play stations. He would play in
treehouses and I played in my play house out back. We also wore the same brands of clothes and had
IPhones. Childhood in Belgium sounds very much to the childhood I experienced in America. Ben
mention how in his school there was more competition in Belgium than in America. I understand fully
what he meant about American high schools, however, when I was in high school taking honor classes
made me completive about school. I do remember in high school going to school with students who
did not much care for their grades. Ben and I both competed with our grades even though both
countries were different with their views about academics. Considering the two different cultures we
both shared quite similar lives growing

He even takes a drink of their beer hoping he can become one of them. He shows his strength in
attempt to get accepted by his peers. His family is more than willing to accept him no matter how
weak or strong he is. The symbols in the novel help make the importance of family an evident theme.
Although the narrators were naive in their perspectives, the Jade Peony shows the life of a Chinese
family in Canada during the depression. They are faced with discrimination and conflict which help
create a compelling story. The important themes in the story are created using the symbols and settings
written about in the Jade Peony. The families struggle in Canada and their ability to stay unified and
enforce themes makes the Jade Peony by Wayson Choy a must read for

  • 2. Rocky Blboa Persuasive Speech Summary Despite having never seen this movie, I have seen this scene hundreds upon hundreds of times. I listen to this speech before every game I play. This is an all around great pre game pump up speech. The coach talks to his team before a big game. He is telling them that the difference between winning and losing (living and dying) is just inches. In football, they may literally be fighting for inches, but in reality, it s not about the inches. It s about the effort. Having both played and coached sports, I appreciate the message the coach is sharing. Overall, I just really love this speech. Credibility The speaker established his credibility by showing his character. The speaker (coach) seemed to care about his players and their success. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The speaker sounded so strong and sincere which made him feel relatable. This ultimately made me want to support him and listen to what he had to say. Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 2 Summary I ve never seen Harry Potter so I m not entirely sure what happened to lead up to this speech being given. A guy named Neville Longbottom is standing up to the bad guy without a nose. At first it appeared that Harry Potter was dead, and Neville was talking about death and how great of a person Harry was, then Harry woke up and a fight broke out. Credibility I have no idea what type of person Neville Longbottom is, but based on the way he talked about Harry Potter he seemed like a nice and sincere guy. • 4. The Government Is A System Of The Dual Federalism Federalism has numerous levels of government in which each of them have their own self governing authority over some of the policy areas. It helps in balancing the power between the national and subunit governments. Various forms of the government are being observed internationally, including the confederation and unitary government. The Confederal government was the very first form of government the United States had that is held under the Articles of Confederation; in which the states hold the authority over a limited national government. The most common form of government throughout the world is the unitary government in which the national and centralized government holds the ultimate authority. If there was no form of federal government, each individual state would face problems that may affect multiple states. This would lead a central government to come up with a mutual solution that would be beneficial to all the states across the nation or to the ones that need it most. Some scholars believe that the American government is a system of the dual federalism. This simply means that the national and state governments have control over unique spheres of policy. Others believe it to be a shared or cooperative federalism in which means that both the governments work together in all areas of the policy, or supply their services to the citizens. Setting Boundaries and Ethical Considerations with Clients in Treatment Groups As a social worker and facilitator of a treatment group, you off handedly remarked that you were going to give away a bunch of clothes that you have had stored and haven t worn. A treatment group member hears this and asks that you give the clothes to him or her. Do you give them to her or him? Why or why not? Which NASW Code of Ethics does this situation relate to? If the client is in need of the clothes then I do not think it would be violating any codes because they need them because they do not have clothes or need something to wear to say a job interview, however, because this could be taken out of context such as having a dual relationship with a client. I would ask the agency that I work for if it is alright to give the clothes to a client that needs them and if not then I would donate them. Giving a client clothes may be seen as having both a professional relationship and social relationship with the client, however, it is not because the clothes were offered because the client had an immediate need. Boundary issues need to be looked at closely because all of them are not always unethical such as running into clients at the grocery store or sporting events as one example. Semantic change is often irregular and arbitrary as a concept, as its causes are wide ranging and multi faceted. However, critics such as Willem B. Hollmann now give weight and notoriety to studying semantics synchronically . By considering individual cases, one can explain some word changes and apply common rules. This can also be shown in words of a similar lexical field, such as head, linking to head of the table etcetera. The fact these words are related and their new meanings are linked would have been significant to Stephen Ullmann. Whilst several scholars have attempted to theorise the nature of semantics, it is Ulmann s structuralism approach (1957, 1962) that is most recently notable. His belief was that words can be divided into semantic fields and if a word fell into the same field as one whose meaning had changed, the former word s change could be predicted to be similar . Whilst there are flaws in Ulmann s theory (such as it is difficult to differentiate between why a word changes and how it changes in a lexical field), it can be applied to situations where the metaphorical link exists over an extended period of time. A key established example of a semantic field cited by George Walkden is that of time as money . In this case a stimulus the saying time is money has prompted growth of multiple meanings of cost, spend and borrow in recent years, relating not only to financial transactions but also gains and losses in time. Many processes have been developed to combat this issue which includes pyrolysis and catalytic cracking. This paper states an experiment that was carried out using catalytic cracking using Zeolite (ZSM 5). The catalyst in presence of heat helped to break down the polymer molecules. The experiment gave a product which consisted of 80% grease. The obtained product can be used for various industrial and domestic applications where lubrication is required. It is a virtue that is essential in a world filled with racial and religious discrimination. Complete tolerance is an oxymoron, and is incompatible with many religious beliefs including Christianities, whose bible clearly states that it is the only true religion . In that case, total tolerance is not only impossible, it also limits the ability of many to worship fully in their religion. The government is passing through various bills and amendments that are pushed through in the name of tolerance, but, in fact, according to the true definition if it is still permissible to say such a thing these bills are decreasing the amount of tolerance that our government has towards groups whose ideas qualify as hate literature. A Comprehensive Analysis behind the Law and Ethics of the Shelf Life Extension Program Background Within the last two decades, the United States has witnessed a dramatic increase in bioterrorism, including Sarin gas attacks in Tokyo, the anthrax attacks post September 11th (Bodas, et al., 2012). To prepare for a potential bioterrorism attack, or large scale national emergency, large supplies of pharmaceuticals and medical supplies are stockpiled (Lyon, Taylor, Porter, Prasanna, Hussain, 2006). This stockpiling of medical supplies is a crucial aspect of the Medical Readiness Strategic Plan, established under the Department of Defense Health Affairs and the Military Medical Departments (Lyon, Taylor, Porter, Prasanna, Hussain, 2006) MORE Contrariwise to national preparedness, preserving large quantities of medical supplies and medications can be costly, and frequent replacement of resources due to manufacturer shelf life expiration dates has proven to be a great challenge. Historical Perspective In 1981, the United States Military began stockpiling large quantities of critical pharmaceuticals and medical supplies (Khan, et al., 2014). • 23. Reflection Of A Play Amadeus On November 30, 2017, I viewed a play called Amadeus, from the comfort of my home. Didn t think I would like it seeing that this would be my first time ever seeing a play like this one. I was thinking to myself am I going to like it, will I be able to sit through the whole play without being bored. Within the first couple of seconds, I was amazed at how the characters from the start of the play really drew me in with their chanting and the two characters going on and on about the tale of Antonio Salieri. I liked how they went back and forth about what they heard and who they heard it from. Those two in my opinion really set the play in motion and gave just enough insight on Salieri to have you on your toes. In my mind I m asking the same questions, did Salieri really poison Mozart and if so why to tell it now? I m really into it now just from the first couple minutes. There wasn t a lot of props which I thought was a great idea, seeing that too many props couple draw the attention away from the characters. The play had it s really dark moments, like when Salieri first came on he seems very depressed and angry. My thoughts on Salieri is that he seemed very bitter and insane but the actor playing Salieri really brought this character to life. He never lost my attention and seemed very live throughout the entire scene. All the characters did an amazing job and the costumes really set the time frame. I just have one question, did the men in those times really wear a lot of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The story follows congressmen David Norris (Matt Damon) as he runs for office but also chases after the love of his life. However, in this world free will does not exist. The adjustment bureau and the chairman have a carefully written plan for every individual person on earth so that no catastrophes erupt. The North American Industry Classification System Essay The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) is the standard used by Federal statistical agencies in classifying business establishments for the purpose of collecting, analyzing, and publishing statistical data related to the U.S. business economy. (North American Industry Classification System, n.d.). NAICS is a 2 through 6 digit hierarchical classification system, offering five levels of detail. Each digit in the code is part of a series of progressively narrower categories, and the more digits in the code signify greater classification detail. The first two digits name the economic sector, the third digit designates the subsector, the fourth digit designates the industry group, the fifth digit designates the NAICS industry, and the sixth digit designates the national industry. The 5 digit NAICS code is the level at which there is comparability in code and definitions for most of the NAICS sectors across the three countries participating in NAICS (the United States, Canada, and Mexico). Conjugation uses mobile genetic elements (MGEs) such as plasmids and transposons as vehicles to share valuable genetic information (Manson et al., 2010). Lastly, the use of integrons allows bacteria to accumulate multiple resistance genes on their chromosomes (Jose et al., 2015). Integrons are site specific recombination systems that recruit open reading frames in the form of mobile gene cassettes. These mobile gene cassettes are then incorporated into the host chromosomes, resulting in the addition of new genes along with appropriate machinery to ensure that the new genes are expressed adequately in the host cell (Jose et al., 2015; Thomas et al., 2005). Resistance via modification of the anti microbial compounds: Bacterial pathogens have evolved strategies to chemically modify the antibiotics via the production of enzymes that adds specific moieties to the compounds, inhibiting their therapeutic effects (Jose at al., 2015). These enzymes exert their action through the process acetylation, phosphorylation and or adenylation to sterically hinder the compound so it is no longer able to bind its target. Due to these biochemical reactions, the drug is unable to bind its target sites and thus results in increased resistance and higher MICs among bacterial populations (Wilson, 2014; ... For almost a century now, a great many intelligent, well meaning and articulate people have argued eloquently against any kind of censorship of art and entertainment. Within the past twenty years, courts and legislatures have found these arguments so persuasive that censorship is now a relative rarity in most states. Is there triumphant exhilaration in the land? Hardly. Somehow, things have not worked out as they were supposed to, and many civil libertarians have said this was not what they meant. That those who certainly know this are moved to deny it merely indicates how a dogmatic resistance to the idea of censorship can result in a mindless insistence on the absurd. For the plain fact is that we all believe that there is a point at which the public authorities ought to step in to limit the self expression of an individual or a group. A theatrical director might find someone willing to commit suicide on the stage. We would not allow that. And I know of no one who argues that we ought to permit public gladiatorial contests, even between consenting adults. No society can be utterly indifferent to the ways its citizens publicly entertain themselves. Bearbaiting and cockfighting are prohibited only in part out of compassion for the animals; the main reason is that such spectacles, were felt to debase and brutalize the citizenry who flocked to witness them. The question with regard to pornography and obscenity is whether they will brutalize and debase our citizenry. We are, after all, not dealing with one book or one movie. We are dealing with a general tendency that is suffusing our entire culture. The issues with special education inclusion have been going unnoticed for many years and now is the time for a change. Special education inclusion is an issue because it bears against social and educational values. People all around the world have tried to fix these issues, but their attempts have been unsuccessful. They have tried making amendments to include special needs students in general classrooms. They have also tried to create ways to individualize criteria for each student. These attempted solutions have not created a final answer but led us to find the perfect way to solve inclusion s problem. The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas By Ursula Le Guin In The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas by Ursula Le Guin, the informally speaking narrator depicts a cookie cutter utopia with perpetually happy citizens that sing and dance in the music filled streets during the Festival of Summer. However, under one of the beautiful public buildings lays a child, no older than ten years old, who lays in its own excrement. Although the citizens know the emancipated child is there, they refuse to act upon the child s suffering, for their happiness depends entirely on the child s abominable misery. Through ethos, the narrator illustrates this utopian society with a casual tone and frequently asks the audience for their input. Le Guin s fairy tale introduction of the story establishes her credibility through her extensive knowledge and understanding of the people of Omelas. Le Guin utilizes logos through the narrator s second person point of view which incites the audience to draw their own conclusions about the city of Omelas and question their own justifications of the child s existence. The concept of the happiness of many relying on the necessary suffering of one forces the reader to question their own morals and their justifications for the child s physical and mental condition.
