Adventures in Odyssey was entertaining and funny, with engaging characters and high quality
production and story editing. I enjoyed listening to the adventures and getting to know the
characters. It was only later in life that I began to sort out the potentially damaging messages

During lab, we put the metal copper under different circumstances so that we could gain a better
understanding as to what goes on in the copper cycle. Throughout each stage of the copper cycle,
we deduced what type of chemical reaction took place based on observation, made observations
about the state of the metal and what type of environment it was subjected to, and determined what
the net ionic equation was for each stage. Following the experiment, we calculated what the percent
yield was and compared the changes in mass from the initial stage to the final stage.
Materials and Methods:
First, we assembled a fume hood by using a ring stand, a hot plate, a 50 ml beaker, an iron ring
to secure the beaker, and a plastic funnel hooked up to rubber tubing and an aspirator. A hose
from the sink was then connected to the aspirator and the pressure that the water created allowed
the fume hood to remove whatever excess gas was given off during the experiment. In cycle
step one, we placed approximately 250 mg of copper into the 50 ml beaker then added 6 ml of
HNO_3. We then heated the plate to 10В° C until the reaction took place to save time. We would
recommend heating the plate initially at 20 C in order to speed up the experiment. The solution

Berry Gordy s Accomplishments
Berry Gordy founded Motown records in 1959, and created one of the most famous recording
companies to ever produce music. Motown had crossover success that helped promote the music of
African Americans. Motown records helped the civil rights movement and helped the blacks in
their fight for their rights. Berry Gordyreally helped out the African American community by
creating Motownrecords and showing the world that blacks could really make quality music.
On January 12, 1959 a young man by the name of Berry Gordy founded Motown record. Berry
had gotten a loan of $800 from his family to start up his new company. Berry lived in Detroit
Michigan so he came up with the name Motown records from the nickname for Detroit Motor City

He set a system up of quality control to ensure that only the best product was being released.
Gordy would hold a meeting every friday morning where the producers would submit their work
and they would all be voted on. Everyone was able to talk honestly about the work and what they
could work on to make it better. The best song that was there would be released so it made the
competition very stiff so the writers and composers would have to work very hard and produce the
best that they could.
Motown also had success not only music but in crossing over with white listeners. Motown was
the sound of young America, and had a way of getting everyone to listen to their music. Their
music was distinctive and was upbeat. The music brought together pop and soul, old and young,
and black and white together. Regardless of race or social background people came together to
