Summary Of Summer Reading Packet
Kassidy Neely Ms. Moya English Language Arts 1 2 Honors July 31, 2014 Summer Reading Packet
1) Scout admires Miss Maudie for her kindness, honesty and patient understanding of her, Jem and
Dill. She sees the brighter side of things like when her house burned down, she said how she had
always wanted to downsize; and how there was more room for her azaleas now that her garden was
gone. She was only worried about her neighbors during this whole incident. 2) Atticus accepted the
job to defend Tom Robinson because he supports equality more than anyone in the town of Maycomb.
3) The kids at school make fun of Scout and Jem because of her dad defending Tom Robinson and her
dad being all for equality. 4) Aunt Alexandra disapproves of Scout because she believes that she isn t
ladylike enough. 5) Uncle Jack realizes later that he should always hear both sides of a story before he
jumps to conclusions and issues punishments. 6) Calpurnia scolds scout for questioning Walter s
eating habits. 7) Miss Caroline tells Scout to stop reading with her father. 8) Miss Maudie s house
catches on fire. 9) Jem s pants were folded and all of the wholes in them were sewn up. 10) Atticus
can shoot, which shocks the kids. 11) The concluding sentence of chapter says, but I never figured out
how Atticus knew I was listening, and it was not until many years later that I realized that he wanted
me to hear every word he said. Uncle Jack and Atticus were having a conversation about the Tom
Robinson case

Explain What It Means To Me A Different Means Of Health
Health means to me a person s physical, mental/emotional and social well being. At the beginning of
the summer health meant to me a person who is not ill or injured. What has changed from the my
definition at the beginning of the summer to now is that I have taken into account more than the
physical factor of someone s health. Mental/emotional health and social health are also key factors. All
these factors make up a person s wellness and that is the overlying thing that is important. My physical
health has improved drastically throughout this course. I started eating healthier and having fruits for
breakfast instead of my usual stack of waffles. On top of this I started to workout with friends. This is
great, but my goal for the future is to continue like this. I fear that once school starts again I will have
more available excuses as to why I am not able to keep up these healthy habits. One thing that I really
took away from our physical unit was that improving your physical health may take away from your
mental/emotional or social health. With this in mind I came up with a way that I can improve my
physical health, but at the same time stay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I would say however that I am more aware of it. What I mean by this is that when I do something I
now think about how it may affect my mental/emotional health or when I see someone else do
something I think about their health. My future goal is to be conscious of an action may affect my
mental/emotional health without having to think about it. This may seem like an odd thing, but I
believe that if I am aware of it than I will make choices than only improve it. Something that I learned
about mental/emotional health is that your self esteem falls under this category. At first I thought only
mental disorders and personality fall into mental/emotional health, but it is also how you think about
yourself and if it is in a positive or negative

Trisomy 21 Hypothesis
Trisomy 21 also called Down syndrome, is an abnormality at a chromosome level and is believed to
be the most prevalent genetic impairment (Bukato Daehler, 2012, p. 89). Compared to other children
with related mental development, a child with Down syndrome has academic impairment such as
language and memory, their physical development is considered slow, and they possess unique traits.
Some of these traits consist of almond shaped eyes, a flattened facial feature, broad hands, and an
unusual crease in the center of the palm. Physical development is considered slow which results in
being short in stature, height, and poor muscle tone. This syndrome causes poor vision including
cataracts and other eye problem, immune system deficiencies. Forty percent ... Show more content on

The preposition of cells seems to exhibit the severity of trisomy. The age of the parents seems to
increase the contributing aspect to Down syndrome. Women thirty five and older have given birth to
sixteen percent of babies, which over half were born with Down syndrome. Expects have conducted
different experiments to try and explain this, the first being the older egg hypothesis. With age the ova
either changes due to time or for the reason of increased exposure to potentially hazardous biological
and environmental conditions (p89). During ovulation the egg cells being released in later
childbearing aged women are more susceptible to chromosomal errors as most are undergoing the last
stages of meiosis. Other expects have a hypothesis of the relaxed selection , which shows older
mothers, contrary to younger mothers, are less likely to unconsciously terminate the fetus with trisomy
21 chromosomes. Another view is egg cells with the extra chromosomes are less likely to be selected
but as the women ages more egg cells with extra chromosomes are present and there are more to
choose from. The age of the father can also be a

The For Efficient Distribution Of The European Commission...
1) Briefly summarise the main points of the case
Verboven s (2009) discusses vertical restraints, concluding their necessity for efficient distribution,
discussing how the European Commission has altered its interpretation of Article 81 overtime. Three
types of restraint are highlighted: Selective distribution, Exclusive distribution and Exclusive dealing,
and that restraint adoption depended on current levels of regulation. Verboven (2009) explains that
vertical restraints became subjected to EU Competition Laws and due to cumulative anti competitive
effects were reformed, becoming stricter. By 2002, new block exemptions aimed to increase flexibility
on acceptable agreements and that only Selective or Exclusive distribution can be applied, not both.
Black clauses including Retail Price Maintenance (RPM) and passive selling outside of territories
were listed. Nevertheless, post 2002 manufacturers were now allowed to make certain vertical
agreements (excluding black clauses), assuring their market share was within the newly defined
thresholds (in general 30%).
Overall, Verboven (2009) emphasised three main issues. Firstly, double marginalisation occurring
when both manufacturer and dealer apply separate profit incentivised mark ups. Secondly, vertical
externalities result in dealers having no incentive to provide sale and after sale services, as the dealer
ultimately provides the manufacturer with increased profits. Finally, competing dealerships may
freeride on

Eva Perón Research Paper
One of Argentina s most popular political figures was Eva Perón. She was loved and hated by many
people throughout the country. She was most appreciated by the poorer working class in the country.
The working class championed behind Eva Perón not necessarily because of who she was, but what
she represented. Eva was born an illegitimate, poor child. Her father died, leaving her and her siblings
to be raised by their mother, his mistress. He left no assets, only an allowance to use his last name.
Eva ran away from home at 15 to go to Buenos Aires. Here she managed to rise to the top by carefully
selecting her company, working hard, and believing in herself. This rise from poverty was the goal of
all of the working class, so they admired Eva s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Perón argued for women s rights, got a suffragist bill passed, and formed the Female Peronist Party.
Because of her actions, women were gained access to higher education and were able to be elected.
This caused many women to support her and her efforts. Eva was excellent at swaying the public
opinion in her direction. She would go on huge tours across Europe where she would wear extravagant
outfits, give speeches, and even hand out money. A majority of Europe reacted negatively to this
ridiculous showmanship, but it raised a lot of support in her home country of Argentina, which was
her real goal. However she was not loved by all. The country s military leaders hated this young
actress who they saw as silly and flamboyant. To think that she would try to become vice president, so
close to a high military position, was unthinkable for them. While the people loved her, she really had
no authority in higher classes and in government. The Argentinian military had huge sway in the
government and in voters, so she wasn t able to rise to the level she would like to have achieved. And
while she put on a show, many critics didn t believe in her ability to actually form and express strong
political ideas and saw her as rather

Enron s Business Risks Is When They Entered Into A Number...
Enron s business risks is when they entered into a number of aggressive transactions involving special
purpose entities SPEs. The underlying account was questionable and/or fraudulent. Some of the
transactions essentially involved Enron receiving borrowed funds without recording the liabilities on
the company s balance sheet. Instead, the inflow of funds were made to look like it came from the sale
of assets. This risk made the liabilities on the financial misleading to investors and customers because
it made Enron look like they were making more than what they actually were making in profit.
SPEs are separate legal entities set up to accomplish specific company objective. They become a
synonymous with Enron s collapse because these entities were at the center of Enron s aggressive
accounting methods. SPEs were used by Enron to sell off assets. The SPE would pay for the
contributed assets through a new debt or equity issuance. SPEs can serve as a legitimate business
purpose, it is apparent the Enron used a large network of SPEs, with complicated speculations and
hedges all conceal in heavy legal language to keep an massive amount of debt off the company s
balance sheet. Enron had hundreds of SPEs. Three of the Enron s SPEs were made prominent
throughout the legal process. Chewco, LJM2, and Whitewing. Chewco was established in 1997 by
Enron executives in connection with a complicated investment in another Enron partnership with
interest in natural gas pipelines. The LJM2

The Hershey Milk Chocolate Bar
For over one hundred years, there has been only one company that has been on top of the candy
industry in North America; Hershey. With over 14,000 employees, serving 70 countries worldwide
and net sales of $6.6 billon, Hershey has come out on top. The Hershey company began in 1894 by
Milton Hershey. The company has over 8 factories, but their main headquarters resides in
Pennsylvania. The beloved Hershey milk chocolate bar has been a favorite by many, but would it still
be if more people knew how it came to be that? One of chocolates main ingredients is cocoa. Cocoa,
or cocoa beans come from tropical areas around the world, but is mostly found on the Ivory Coast in
West Africa. Hershey, along with Mars and Nestle are the three major companies that buy their cocoa
from West Africa, but with further investigation, it has been known that over 4,400 children work on
those cocoa farms that they buy from. Hershey has bought and produced tons of chocolate for over 50
years that has had the blood, sweat and tears of the not only the children on the Ivory Coast, but the
adults as well. The way that Hershey has been able to sell to their consumers with very low prices on
all their products is because they buy from the cocoa farms that have child slaves. Many of which
were taken from their homes, sold or needed to provide for their families. They would come work for
cocoa farmers and get paid little to nothing. Children who work on the Ivory Coast usually are
between ages 12 and 16,

Raising The Retirement Age
In an effort the make healthcare affordable some economists and political scientists in academics
formulated a scheme to force all taxpayers and residents to purchase insurance under penalty of law.
In his haste, President Obama pushed through executive legislation during a recess of congress to

brought to the supreme court where in a surprising move the ordinary justice agreed with the lawyers
that the affordable care act was a law that could be issued on the Americans.

The Trenches Of World War I
Introduction:
World War 1 changed the world around it. More men fought than one could comprehend. World War 1
almost destroyed an entire generation of men. The battlefield for Australians were lined with trenches
filled with disease, pests and the fallen where they had medical aid. They experienced traumas not yet
known commonly at all. The war was not embellished for its inhumanity in its time but as we see now
the men and women who helped with the war effort lived with fear of death, disease and infection.
What Were the Trenches? Why was a System of Trenches Employed?

Were Men from all Armies Involved in Trench Warfare? At Which Battle Sites Were Trenches Dug?
The Allies consisted of Serbia, Russia, France (Raymond Poincarѐ), Romania, Belgium, British
Empire (David Lloyd George/George V), United States (Woodrow Wilson), Italy (Vittorio Emanuele
III/Vittorio Orlando), Brazil, Greece, Japan, Liberia, Montenegro, Portugal, Romania, Australia.
The Central Powers consisted of Germany, Austria Hungary, Bulgaria, Ottoman Empire. These powers
and allies fought each other on the Western Front, Eastern front, in Gallipoli, and France. The Western
Front, Eastern Front and Gallipoli had trenches protecting them.
What Were the Conditions Like for the Soldiers in the Trenches?
Trenches were infested with rats, disease and mud. Rats infested the trenches. There were two kinds of
rats black and brown. Brown rats were the most feared as they gorged on more human flesh and could
grow to the size of a small dogs. This quote describes rats perfectly Great, sleek, corpse fed rats ran in
squads between our legs and over our feet as we stood. Their obscene squeaking could be heard at all
times. Some men conceived an unmeasured hatred of these loathsome things, and were always trying
to slaughter them. I wondered, as I stood, did they picture themselves as those scattered corpses a prey
to these. Imagination is decidedly not good for a soldier. It is one of the things Kipling forgot to tell us

Starry Night And Van Gogh Analysis
The Starry Night (fig.1), painted by Vincent van Gogh in 1889, and Fountain (fig. 2), created by
Marcel Duchamp in 1914, are generally known as Modern Art. The professor Nalini Rao always
taught her students about the importance of analyzing artworks by various viewpoints in order to
appreciate underlying purposes of each artwork and how artworks are created, and The Starry Night
and Fountain actually have both similarities and differences. While both Vincent van Gogh and Marcel
Duchamp used new methods for depicting and reinterpreting the world, they differ in their reasons
why they used new techniques. Duchamp is the pioneer of Modern Art because his artwork is more
related to modern society than Van Gogh s. One similarity between Vincent van Gogh and Marcel
Duchamp is that both sought new approaches to depicting the world. The Starry Night has distortions
of nature by expressive use of colors. For example, Van Gogh depicted a moon and star filled night
sky, but the crescent moon is as bright as the sun, and eleven stars painted by green, yellow, white, and
pink are similar to jewels. Moreover, the Milky Way that looks a large swirling cloud gives individuals
strong and powerful impressions of Van Gogh s uniqueness. As shown above, Van Gogh distorted
nature by using various colors, and no one before Van Gogh depicted landscape energetically through
colors according to Nathalia Brodskaïa (88). In a similar way to Van Gogh s new approaches to art
making, Marcel Duchamp used

Case Study Of Foetal Leydig Cells
The foetal Leydig Cell population arises shortly after testicular differentiation around 7 weeks in a
human after gestation by the Human Chorionic Gonadotropin (hcG), this is known as the first wave
(45). These cells function, mainly to produce androgens which are essential for masculinization of the
foetus as well as in the descent of the testes in the scrotum, these androgens subsequently act as
paracrine factors within the seminiferous tubules, testosterone, is only first detected around 6 7 weeks
of gestation and peaks around 13 14 weeks (45). In cases where Leydig cells fail to develop or fail to
produce androgens, pseudohermaphrodism occurs (46). The androgen produced ensures the Wolffian
duct is maintained and there is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Postnatal differentiation of human Leydig cells involves a variety of cellular cascades resulting in
mature Leydig cells. When the second wave occurs after 2 3 months of birth there is a gradual
increase in testosterone levels, the neonatal cell population during this time frame is a mix of mature
well developed Leydig cells and smaller ones (52). These cells possess well developed steroidogenic
machinery expressing both the LH receptor and key steroidogenic enzymes such as 3βHSD, P450scc,
P450c17 required for androgen synthesis (53). The neonatal androgen surge is believed to play a role
in imprinting various cell types in the prostate, hypothalamus, genetalia and kidney, in such a way
they respond appropriately to androgen stimulation during adulthood (54). The Leydig cells then
regress and testis remain dormant until puberty (55). Following a prolonged childhood period of
steroidogenic quiescence, the hypothalamus generates a pulse of GnRH around the 12th year (56). The
onset GnRH typically occurs at night and is due in part to the gradual decline in nocturnal melatonin
secretion from the pineal gland (56). This GnRH triggers release of the pituitary gonadotropin LH that
ultimately stimulates the Leydig cells to grow in number and size, whilst also maturing and
differentiating to

Persuasive Essay On Child Pregnancy
The pregnancy for nine months had been completely normal and healthy. The parents chose not to
have prenatal genetic testing done. When Noah was born, he was rushed away for hours. The
pediatrician came and broke the news to the parents. They wailed and cried for their boy when the
words Down syndrome were spoken. This was a complete shock; no one was prepared. The second
Noah was brought into the room, however, love and excitement completely filled the room. The
parents were expecting a beautiful little boy, and that is what they received. Their journey would be
different from a normal, healthy child, but still amazing. They still celebrated and loved this new life
which they had brought into the world ( Noah s Birth Story ). Another mother, Chloe, did not have
genetic testing done in her first pregnancy because she told herself there would be no point because
abortion was not an option. The second pregnancy, however, something was different. Chloe had been
gaining extra weight, and there were small signs of Down syndrome. Her midwife suggested that she

Chloe nor her partner wanted their unborn son Tommy to live with any disabilities or struggles. Due to
the diagnosis and after much consideration, they made the decision to terminate the pregnancy at

Happiness In Fahrenheit 451 And A Clean Well-Lighted Place
Happiness differentiates for every individual. Faking happiness can occur as well. Humans can be
materialistic and hard to please because of their need to want more. Some people can be content with a
poor lifestyle because of their supporting family. Some may even appear to have everything in the
world, but can be suffering inside. This could be due to loneliness, pain, illness, depression, or even
loss of loved ones. Many characters from Fahrenheit 451 and A clean Well Lighted place were
unhappy, while some were actually happy.
Montag s wife from Fahrenheit 451 was an example of someone who was unhappy. As soon as
Montag got home from a long day at work She kept telling him to buy a new interactive tv set. She
already had a new TV set, house, friends, and etc. She was called to be in the Family show that
everyone watches. Montag knew she wasn t the only Mildred to be called that day, but his wife
insisted that she was special. All Mildred cared about was fitting in. She hated being different. When
Montag was bringing out his books she kept telling him to put them away and to act normal. She did
nothing but hate his books even though she wouldn t try to read it. She had already attempted to
commit suicide before by overdosing on pills. This shows that something was eating at her even
though she had everything .
The younger waiter from A Clean Well Lighted Place would be labeled as happy. Even though he
works minimum wage as a waiter he has something to look forward to.

Wrestling As A Social Phenomenon
Professional Wrestling is a world renowned topic that has universally shaped the lives of many
individuals around the world. There is no denying that professional wrestling is firmly entrenched as a
part of modern culture. Wrestling has become a multimillion dollar industry with a very long history
dating back hundreds of years. I have decided to write about and discuss the lack of explanation
sociologists have when describing wrestling as a social phenomenon. The reason I have decided to
write about this topic is because as a child I was fascinated by pro wrestling, more specifically, World
Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). I feel that wrestling has played an important role in my
development socially, emotionally, and physically. To begin, it is important to understand that
wrestling is above and beyond a spectacle as described by Roland Barthes. Wrestling is an investment
in one s self. It is an accumulation of countless hours spent on the wrestling mat, in the gym, and in
the studio. It is a display of hegemonic masculinity to its highest degree, wrestlers understand this.
Professional Wrestlers understand that the nature of the sport is tough, unforgiving, and requires a
superhero attitude. The common goals shared amongst the wrestling culture have a distinct impact on
how wrestlers identify themselves to society. Socially, wrestling has not been analyzed as closely as it
should be. Subconsciously, individuals who attend or express an interest in professional

The Importance Of Cursive Writing
Should cursive writing still be taught in school? In the fifth century, cursive writing was established by
the Romans Empire in Europe. Because before they don t have phone or computer with them to get

important. Cursive writing should taught in school because it s helps kids to write fast, helps kids
brian make more storage, kids will be able to read when other people write cursive. Cursive writing
connects student to the past. William said children may teach to read more sasaki especially dyslexia
(William 2013). They read cursive writing and would be able to read historical documents. We should
be focusing on keyboarding skills and other computer based communication (Cindi 2014). Many
teacher have increased in class writing assignments and these essays must be legible. People also say
that print is easier to read that cursive, but again graham say the research isn t definitive on this either.
Cursive writing is a faster way of writing than printing. Because kids brain involved in thinking
language and working memory (William 2014). It is important that student writer at a speed that will
enable them to finish their lask. Copying text like a poem helps kids to internalize (Cindi, 2014). It can
improve if they write what they are reading addition to them learning. There s also some research that

How Important has Nationalism been in Shaping the modern...
How important has nationalism been in shaping our modern world? Do you believe that the appeal of
nationalism will diminish in the future?
Nationalism has been extremely important and influential in shaping the modern world we see today,
causing revolutions, rebellions and the constant reshaping of world maps continuing even today. Its
appeal is something that I don t believe will diminish in the future. Many theologians and political

Modernist philosophers agree that modernism is only possible in a developed industrial society, where
a strong economy provides a strong backbone for the nation s development, there is a presence of a
centralized authority and the nation is connected through a single common language in which
everyone can communicate with each other4. Although not known as a nationalist, the father of
communism Karl Marx described nationalism has being the transformation from feudalism to
capitalism, and saw nationalism as nothing more than a trend which would soon pass5. However this
was not the case, the industrial revolution stirred up patriotic sentiments throughout Europe, especially
Germany, France and Great Britain, which lead to an arms race powered by industry, this played a
major role in the lead up into WWI. Modernism continues to shape the modern world even today, a
form of modernism much like the one seen during the industrial revolution can be seen in places such
as India and China, who are currently experiencing their own version of the industrial revolution. It
can also be seen in the middle east where political movements such as the Muslim brotherhood have
stepped into power in places such as Egypt after a revolt against the former dictator President

Upon A Wasp Chilled With Cold Edward Taylor Analysis
Upon a Wasp Chilled with Cold, written by Edward Taylor, tells of a very interesting story in which a
wasp warms itself up in preparation for a journey. Edwards word choice is very vivid and one may
describe his diction as passionate. He seems to use rhyme and an array of poetic devices as a means to
convey his passion. As an orthodox Puritan he truly captures their mentality and desire for God. In the
poem Edward envisions himself as this little wasp basking in Gods warmth and divinity, he imparts
with his readers his desire to reach a state of clarity in which his misted sight would be unblemished
and ready to gaze upon God. Edward Taylor employs rhyming couplets in a majority of his stanza s in

Essay on Understanding Tay-Sachs Disease
Introduction
When presented with this assignment, Tay Sachs disease was one of the first choices that came to
mind since it is one of many diseases associated with Ashkenazi Jews (Jews of Eastern European
descent). Tay Sachs is a deadly heritable disease caused by the absence or mutation of Hex A, an
enzyme that breaks down complex fats called gangliosides found in nervous tissue. Without Hex A,
there is a buildup of gangliosides in the cells of the brain, causing major damage to the cells (
Learning About Tay Sachs Disease ). Tay Sachs is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder, which
means that both parents must be a carrier of the diseased allele for the children to be at risk. The
interesting thing about autosomal recessive disease ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Within a year of the examination, two of the three children died. A few years later, one of the children
s parents brought a newly born sibling with the same symptoms to Tay s clinic; leading Tay to believe
whatever the disorder was, quite possibly was hereditary (Cowan 133).
Around the same time as Tay s discovery, a young physician in New York named Bernard Sachs
examined a baby girl with very similar symptoms. Sachs reported that since the first time the child had
been examined, she never attempted any voluntary movements nor did it seem as if there were any
signs of increasing mental development. In addition, by this time, she was completely blind. The child
died just before her second birthday and her parents sent her body to Sachs for postmortem
examination. It was during this examination that Dr. Sachs saw that the cerebrum was abnormal and
took a sample of tissue taken from the cerebral cortex. This too Sachs found to be profoundly
abnormal in appearance. Dr. Sachs also noticed a detritus like buildup in the cell walls (Cowan 133
135). Sachs continued to examine children with the same symptoms and postmortem results over the
next decade. He also began reading similar case reports including that of Tay s in medical literature.

1991 Report
In 2004, the Commission set to evaluate the effects of the Guidelines as part of its congressionally
mandated 15 year review of federal sentencing practice. The 1991 Report was a short term impact
review that only evaluated data once the Guidelines were full implementation in 1990. The 2004
Report picks up where the 1991 Report left off by focusing on three primary areas of assessments:
Guidelines impact on transparency and rationality of sentencing and severity of punishment, impact of
Guidelines on inter judge and regional disparity, and research on racial, ethnic, and gender disparities
in sentencing today (Fifteen Years of Guidelines, 2004). According to the Commission 15 year review,
sentencing reform achieved its goal of increasing the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Congress sought to reform the sentencing system by designing sentencing Guideline rules that were
uniformly to control disparity. In order to reform the sentencing system, Congress created the
Sentencing Commission in charge of designing a new sentencing system using multiple sources to
evaluate the means to control the source of disparity (Bowman, 1996; Fifteen Years of Guidelines,
2004). Once the Guidelines were created and implemented, studies conducted by the Commission
reports that it has increased drastically especially for drug offenses due to different adaptations to the
Guidelines and the different types of offenses prosecuted in different regions (Fifteen Years of
Guidelines, 2004). The variation in sentence lengths is analyzed based on the data evidence shows 73
percent of differences in federal sentence length causing unwarranted disparity (Fifteen Years of
Guidelines, 2004). The cause of unwarranted disparity is influenced by policies promulgated by
Congress that were supposedly designed to amend the effects of uneven charging and plea bargaining
decisions. With prosecutors in control of determining an offenders sentencing, they can impose several
enhancement to depart from the Guidelines to provide leniency. However, such enhancement resulted
in sentences disproportional to the appropriate serious of the offense that would be otherwise applied
to the case (Fifteen Years of Guidelines, 2004). The Commission reports there is little empirical
research in exploring why prosecutors use its discretion to apply enhanced penalties and depart from
the Guidelines (Tonry, 1996; Fifteen Years of Guidelines,

Essay on Epic of Gilgamesh
Title: Gilgamesh Type: Epic Author: Anonymous Theme: The central idea of Gilgamesh was the greed
that he had to receive eternal life. Gilgamesh was a selfish person who was half god and half man and
wanted to keep his youth after seeing Enkidu die. Gilgamesh knew his destiny was not to receive
eternal life because he was half man. He decided to go against the odds to fight against not having
eternal life searching for the secret despite what the Gods told him. Exposition: The story dates
between 2500 1500 B.C. Gilgamesh ruled in Uruk, a city in ancient Mesopotamia. Protagonist: The
epic is centered on Gilgamesh because he is the main character and ruler of Uruk who in the
beginning is rude and arrogant and has a journey ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Crisis: Death is the crisis for Gilgamesh and the fact he is half man is preventing him from living
forever. He decides to ignore the advice given to the gods and goes on a quest to find the boatman
Utnapishtim for eternal life. Climax: Gilgamesh goes on his journey for everlasting life and find the
boat man Utnapishtim for everlasting life. First, Gilgamesh is challenged to stay awake for 6 days and
7 nights, but he fails at the task. Secondly, he tells Gilgamesh that a prickly plant has the answer for
his eternal life and if he is able to capture it he will hold in his hands the answer for his youth. As
Gilgamesh goes to cleanse him self, a serpent takes his plant and Gilgamesh is saddened because this
now means death is in his path. He decides to make plans to take the plant to the elderly men to renew
their youth which shows leadership as a king is suppose to be. Resolution or Denouement: In the
beginning of the epic Gilgamesh the people of Uruk saw Gilgamesh as a lousy, obnoxious, arrogant
ruler. After his journeys to find everlasting life his heart began to soften and see a different perspective
of life. It was revealed long after Gilgamesh s death that he was actually considered a god. This helps
explain his fear towards death. Gilgamesh wanted to physically be a great warrior until the end of time
opposed to just another historic memory. Although it was not actually death he was afraid of,

The Theme Of Immorality In A Clockwork Orange
Imagine every night being the blackest of nights, where even the police do not stop the criminals
lurking in the corners. This is the world in Anthony Burgess s A Clockwork Orange, where a
dystopian society in which juvenile delinquents roam free to terrorize the night is chronicled. Your
Humble Narrator, Alex DeLarge, is a member of this appalling culture of teenagers. Over the course of
the novel, he performs unspeakable acts of ultraviolence with his droogs, which land him behind bars
in Staja, the state jail, for a prescribed fourteen years. After failing to reform, Alex receives an
experimental corrective cure called Ludovico s Technique, which induces a vicious physical reaction
to acts of violence. When finally healed of his violent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
While Alex DeLarge displays immorality through flagrant acts of evil, the Minister of the Interior
takes a more subtle approach with his wrongdoings. The curing of delinquents by Ludovico s
Technique is the primary action that presents the Minister s immorality. Although the citizens in the
dystopia believe the new method will aid in criminals reform, it is clearly only a tactic for the Minister
of the Interior to regain his position in the government by netting public support. The reform is so
heavily advertised that Alex refers to the newspaper as the Government paper. While reading he sees
the policy for what it really is, which is portrayed by, ...it was this Minister of Inferior or Interior. It
seemed that he had been doing a bit of boasting, looking forward to a nice crime free era... (Burgess

morality. The fake guise put on to fool the public into support is a clear example of The Minister of
the Interior s immorality. Between Alex s heinous acts and the Governments clear lies, human
immorality is an obvious theme in this novel. The theme of fate also makes an indistinguishable
appearance in A Clockwork Orange, which is brought to life by the outcomes of Alex DeLarge s
raucous life. The first demonstration of fate is the result Alex s criminal

College Tuition Benefit Analysis
Imagine somebody having just graduated from high school, and they are trying to get into a college,
but they don t have to much say as to which college they go to because many students cannot afford to
go to a nice college let alone a cheap college. For some people it s harder to imagine, but for others
that is the life that they are living right now. According to the College Board of Education tuition has
increased by 8.6% since 2012, meanwhile average household incomes have only increased by 2.23%.
The following tuition increase trend is becoming a serious threat to American society, and must be
slowed down. At this rate families will soon have no hope of ever paying for college debt. Many
people want to blame the government to contributing greatly to the recent increase in tuition by saying
there used to be a plethora of public funding opportunities for colleges, but that they were then all
slashed. This is not even close to the reality of the situation. While people did use to be able to pay

Three Career In Nursing

careers in particular. Reason why I choose Human Resource Manager is that I m currently pursuing
Human Resource Development major at Northeastern Illinois University. My second career choice is
Registered Nurse because nursing was my first major straight out of high school. Dietician is my third
career choice because I always had a passion to learn about eating healthy. First career researched I

that dietician doesn t have as much opportunity as nurses and Human Resource Managers. I have a
lack in few skills (critical thinking skills, detail oriented, emotional stability) to become a nurse or
dietician. I have all the necessary skills to become an HR such as decision making skills, leadership
skills, speaking skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. Two of my career values are
helping others and to influence others. I believe all the careers had a value of helping others and
influencing others. Nurses help patients. Dietician helps clients to make informed food choices, about
the foods they eat. My most important need is work life balance and stability. Work life balance is
having a job that allows time for family and work. Stability is having a job that won t change over a
long period of time. This is important to me because I care spending time with my family and friends.
I want stability because I value staying in one facility longer than moving around to other facilities.

Organic Vs Organic Food
The Right Choice It happens all too often a consumer goes to the supermarket on a run for the
necessities: milk, eggs, bread, meat, fruit, vegetables and possibly more. Seems quite simple, however
there are choices to make when it comes to the food you purchase. Some obvious decisions to be made
could be the brand, size of package, or even the amount of each item to buy. There is one slightly
more obscure choice to be made, though. Consumers have the power to choose the origin from which
their food comes, prior to hitting the grocery shelves. Conventional or organic? An origin of pesticides
and chemicals, or an origin of naturally nutrient rich soil. This appears to be an easy verdict when it is
put into those brief terms; however, when price, clever marketing, and overall confusion of the subject
are factored in, it becomes quite the predicament. Many consumers experience a dilemma when
deciding what type of foods to feed themselves and their families. Consumers should purchase organic
foods because of the additional health benefits they provide without the toxins that are evident in
conventionally produced foods. What is organic? Organic is a government dealt certification that
products, mostly foods, can obtain by neglecting to use pesticides, genetic modifications, chemical
fertilizers, or hormones in their production (Morin 3). Organic food and conventional food only differ
in the way they are produced, yet the more natural production of organic foods tend to yield

Observing Adolescents Through Adolescent Males And Females
OBSERVING ADOLESCENTS IN THIER NATURAL HABITAIT EMINA SEHOVIC
Do you remember adolescence ? The awkwardness, the pimples, the first crush, the first kiss? Wasn t
it the best? Don t you wish you could go back? I don t. Like most people I hated adolescence it was a
strange and confusing time. Looking back at my adolescents I sometimes wonder why I acted the way
I did. During this observation I couldn t help but think I really hope I wasn t this bad back then, but
lets face it I probably was.
Introduction
My group observed adolescents, we were looking for variations in behavior between males and
females. We theorized that in public places adolescent males and females would act differently
according to the environment they were in. We also predicted that their behavior would be influenced
by who they were around, peers or parents. O Koon, J. (1997), did a study looking at adolescents
relationships to parents and peers. In his study he found that females had a much stronger attachment
to their peers than males, attachment to parents was strong for both. In our observations we saw some
similar results.
Methods
For our research project we split our group and divided up the observation tasks. One part of the group
went to the mall, another went to a high school football game and a high school volleyball game. I
went to the mall for my observation, more specifically I went to the most popular adolescent stores
stores such as Forever 21, American Eagle, Dicks

Cause And Effect Of Burmese Pythons
The Burmese python (Python bivittatus) is one of the largest snakes in the world, measuring up to 5.74
meters long and weighing up to 182.8 kilograms. The species is native to southeast Asia and in its
native habitat, consumes a wide array of prey including many different mammal, amphibian, lizard,
snake, bird, and fish species (Snow et al. 2007). In southern Florida, pythons have established
themselves across thousands of square kilometers including all of Everglades National Park (Boback
et al. 2016). Research points to multiple instances of pet release to be the cause of their introduction to
the Everglades as a foreign species (Snow et al. 2007). Python populations have significantly
increased in both abundance and geographic range in the Everglades since their introduction, preying
on a wide variety of native mammals and birds, posing a serious problem as an invasive species and
apex predator (Dorcas et al. 2012). As an invasive species, the Burmese python has an immense
impact on the native populations of the Everglades. In the last 20 years, observations of mammals in
the Everglades have declined by 95% while the number of non native Burmese pythons in the park has
significantly increased (Sovie et al. 2016). Data from game cameras used in a study by Willson
support this observation, showing the spatial pattern of mammal abundance being inversely correlated
with spatial expansion of Burmese pythons in the Everglades (Willson 2017). Burmese pythons have

Dean Hammond can implement JIT techniques that seek to eliminate the significant amount of waste
that exists in his current operational processes. Basically, there are seven wastes to be considered as
obstacles in the lean system. It consists of over production, wasting time, transportation, process,
inventory, motion, and defectives. As a result of implementing this concept, it will arrange a better

These same individuals could also be responsible for delivering these pieces to various stations,
eliminating the need for the station workers to do so.
By creating a staircase cell in their factory, B B can realize efficiencies that would allow them to
eliminate waste and be more competitive in the areas of price and lead time. This would eventually
reduce their order backlog, making their production more in line with estimates.
2.) What are likely to be the main categories of costs and benefits in establishing the cell? Are there
any non financial benefits which should be taken into account?
B B may face some initial outlay costs in creating specific staircase stations. Additionally, there may
be costs associated with training, as they ensure that their joiners can function as experts in their
respective areas. This might even require a short period of inactivity or even a halt in production as
they seek to get workers up to speed. However, the benefits seem to outweigh these initial costs. B B
would be in a position to handle more volume and could make far better use of their existing
resources. Orders would have a better chance of being completed on time and the elimination of waste
would allow for more competitive quotes. Ultimately, this would put B B in a more competitive
position to win business and become more profitable.
3.) At what stage, and how, should Dean sell his idea to the Joinery Manager and the workers?

Why Is Imperialism A Bully
I believe that imperialism is mostly being a bully and just a little bit of being a friend for three reasons.
First how we treated the Panamanians, then how we intimidated Japan, and finally to spread our
culture. I mainly think it is being a bully because when we were getting the Panama Canal built we
treated the people of Panama very poorly, and we allowed many of them to die. We forced them to
work in Malaria infested forests, horrendous terrain, deplorable living conditions. I also believe this
because of the danger. They were dealing with dynamite a highly unstable material that could blow up
at any moment. I also believe that United States imperialism is being a bully because it s not morally
right to take over another country and subjugate

Eric Erikson s Theory Of Psychosocial Development
Developmental psychology is a study of the growth and the maturation of a person over time. How the
individual grows psychically, cognitively and how they are socially over time. All of these factors
shape us into the person new become. I have decided to study in and focus on Erik Erikson s theory of
psychosocial development. He takes a closer look on the choices that we are forced to deal with and
the conflicts they make during different parts of their life. His theory has eight theories, there are
different types of problems and conflicts with each stage that an individual will encounter and have to
resolve. It s important to deal with these conflicts that are presented to the individual during the stages,
because if they are not taking care of the individual will end up struggling with them later on in life.
Erikson has a developmental process that explains the development between infancy to adulthood. He
explains this within 8 stages; during these stages the individual experiences crisis which could have a
positive or a negative outcome on the person s personality. Erikson is known as an ego psychologist
focusing on culture and society and the conflicts that can take place with someone s ego (McLeod, S).
The first stage is trust vs. mistrust this occurs during the first year of life where the infant is uncertain
about the world and they have to develop feelings. The infant finds hope in trusting someone, and has
to figure out who they will choose not to trust. The

Analyzing The Studio System In Hollywood In The 1920 s
The studio system was an arrangement of craft services and talent that made movies dictated by
contractual terms. Through this system, studios could easily move from project to project, producing
like that of a factory. Creating movies in this arrangement eliminated the need to raise money or
finances; directors usually created movies in the style of the studio which lessened artistic creativity
(Lewis, p 104). The studio system was dominant in Hollywood through the 1920 s well into the 1950
s. Analyzing the studio system simplistically we see basic capitalism. In the 1920 s movies became
more popular, so fulfilling the rules of basic supply and demand, studios were formed to profit from

At the beginning of the period during the Medieval Times, the Catholic Church had power and

because they were not exposed to any other formal education and anyone that spoke against the

the Irish Sports Council. This has a huge consequence on the Irish Sports Council and it restricts the
development of the programmes they intend to start to increase participation in sport. Lack of funding
means that the Irish Sports Council can only use a limited amount of resources and provide a limited
amount of programmes to ensure that they remain within the budget provided. Similarly, the lowered
budget means that less people can be employed to grow the programmes and raise awareness of the
initiatives of the Irish Sports Council. The implementation of the strategic plans the Irish Sports
Council has set out will encounter many difficulties. One difficulty they will encounter will be trying
to get feedback from all of the Local Sports Partnerships and from people who participate in the
programmes provided. It will be difficult to gather all the feedback and process all of it as there will be
large volumes and with a reduced budget there may be less people to analyse the

Conference Reflection Paper
During the week of May 25, I had the privilege to attend a conference in Washington D.C. called
NCORE, the National Conference on Race and Ethnicity. Conference topics ranged from police
brutality, mass incarceration, Ferguson to moving towards identity after liberation. Since I am an
African American, I felt that it was expected of me to attend conferences that only relate to my people
and my identity. To stray away from the expected , I decided to dedicate one day to learning about
different cultures. That morning, I attended a conference on the education of Asian Americans in the
United States. I went into this conference not expecting to take away anything since our culture has
conditioned us to believe that Asian Americans are the model ... Show more content on

Before we go into this, we have to understand the difference between the foreigner and the American.
When Muslims immigrate to the US, they are faced with the constant stares of onlookers who are
confused of what they are, where they come from, and when are they leaving. As you can tell,
Americans have always seen Muslims as the other , but tensions intensified after the 9/11 attacks. The
9/11 attacks brought Muslim culture to the forefront. Many people started performing hate crimes
against Muslims and Islamic nations. The American government has sanctioned surveillance and
investigations into Islamic nations in order to prevent another 9/11 attack. The government has
perpetuated this hatred towards Muslims on the basis that since all terrorists are Muslims, all Muslims
must be terrorists. Furthermore, Americans have this idea that Muslims should apologize for the 9/11
attacks. The entire Muslim culture was not responsible for 9/11. Although it seems to be easy to point
the finger at one group of people, it becomes difficult when you are blaming a group of people on one
person s actions. If Americans expect an apology for Muslims, all whites should be prepared to
apologize to blacks for slavery. The apology concept is complete ludicrous. If you believe that all
Muslims are terrorists, this judgment makes the statement that all blacks are criminals true. If either
one are true, how do we explain Barack Obama and Farah Pandith. In addition, airport customs have
used the 9/11 attacks as an excuse for random security checks of Muslims. This promotes an almost
majority rule of widespread racial profiling of Muslims. On the airport, there are numerous customs
checkpoints for Homeland Security that takes a minimum of 2 hours to catch your plane. Americans
even have this fear of terror

Carl Lewis Views On Track And Field
Carl Lewis said the trials on the road to world harmony are no greater than the courage of those who
accept the challenge . Track and field is a sport which includes athletics in running, jumping, and
throwing. The Smithsonian Museum has a lot of different artifacts, but it holds a very important track
jersey: Carl Lewis . Because of crushing records and maintaining determination, Carl Lewis made an
impact on history when he became one of the best track stars.
Carl worked hard everyday even through the rough time to have success in track and field. A little boy
he took a tape measure and put it in his backyard wondering how could a person jump so far (AAseng,
1985). Even though he just a kid athlete have to work hard everyday and use what they got. Since he
was eight he ran around playing with his family ( Carl Lewis, 2017). As a matter of fact he would
jump and play in sandpit (Jacobs, 2017). He spend long hour running in the yard and jumping around.
Although his parents both were track coaches they build their own track club (Jacobs, 2017). Also
they were Carl Lewis first coaches (Jacobs, 2017). Eventually this gave Carl Lewis lots of time to
practice running and jumping. At first Carl Lewis would always lose one day he when up to his dad
and said I am tired of losing (AAseng, 2017). His dad respond and say either work harder or quit
(AAseng, 2017). Although he was always getting frustrated he never give up and work will hard be to
good. This was start of Carl Lewis

  • 2. Summary Of Summer Reading Packet Kassidy Neely Ms. Moya English Language Arts 1 2 Honors July 31, 2014 Summer Reading Packet 1) Scout admires Miss Maudie for her kindness, honesty and patient understanding of her, Jem and Dill. She sees the brighter side of things like when her house burned down, she said how she had always wanted to downsize; and how there was more room for her azaleas now that her garden was gone. She was only worried about her neighbors during this whole incident. 2) Atticus accepted the job to defend Tom Robinson because he supports equality more than anyone in the town of Maycomb. 3) The kids at school make fun of Scout and Jem because of her dad defending Tom Robinson and her dad being all for equality. 4) Aunt Alexandra disapproves of Scout because she believes that she isn t ladylike enough. 5) Uncle Jack realizes later that he should always hear both sides of a story before he jumps to conclusions and issues punishments. 6) Calpurnia scolds scout for questioning Walter s eating habits. 7) Miss Caroline tells Scout to stop reading with her father. 8) Miss Maudie s house catches on fire. 9) Jem s pants were folded and all of the wholes in them were sewn up. 10) Atticus can shoot, which shocks the kids. 11) The concluding sentence of chapter says, but I never figured out how Atticus knew I was listening, and it was not until many years later that I realized that he wanted me to hear every word he said. • 3. Explain What It Means To Me A Different Means Of Health Health means to me a person s physical, mental/emotional and social well being. At the beginning of the summer health meant to me a person who is not ill or injured. What has changed from the my definition at the beginning of the summer to now is that I have taken into account more than the physical factor of someone s health. Mental/emotional health and social health are also key factors. All these factors make up a person s wellness and that is the overlying thing that is important. My physical health has improved drastically throughout this course. I started eating healthier and having fruits for breakfast instead of my usual stack of waffles. On top of this I started to workout with friends. This is great, but my goal for the future is to continue like this. I fear that once school starts again I will have more available excuses as to why I am not able to keep up these healthy habits. One thing that I really took away from our physical unit was that improving your physical health may take away from your mental/emotional or social health. With this in mind I came up with a way that I can improve my physical health, but at the same time stay ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I would say however that I am more aware of it. What I mean by this is that when I do something I now think about how it may affect my mental/emotional health or when I see someone else do something I think about their health. My future goal is to be conscious of an action may affect my mental/emotional health without having to think about it. This may seem like an odd thing, but I believe that if I am aware of it than I will make choices than only improve it. Something that I learned about mental/emotional health is that your self esteem falls under this category. At first I thought only mental disorders and personality fall into mental/emotional health, but it is also how you think about yourself and if it is in a positive or negative ... • 4. Trisomy 21 Hypothesis Trisomy 21 also called Down syndrome, is an abnormality at a chromosome level and is believed to be the most prevalent genetic impairment (Bukato Daehler, 2012, p. 89). Compared to other children with related mental development, a child with Down syndrome has academic impairment such as language and memory, their physical development is considered slow, and they possess unique traits. Some of these traits consist of almond shaped eyes, a flattened facial feature, broad hands, and an unusual crease in the center of the palm. Physical development is considered slow which results in being short in stature, height, and poor muscle tone. This syndrome causes poor vision including cataracts and other eye problem, immune system deficiencies. Forty percent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The preposition of cells seems to exhibit the severity of trisomy. The age of the parents seems to increase the contributing aspect to Down syndrome. Women thirty five and older have given birth to sixteen percent of babies, which over half were born with Down syndrome. Expects have conducted different experiments to try and explain this, the first being the older egg hypothesis. With age the ova either changes due to time or for the reason of increased exposure to potentially hazardous biological and environmental conditions (p89). During ovulation the egg cells being released in later childbearing aged women are more susceptible to chromosomal errors as most are undergoing the last stages of meiosis. Other expects have a hypothesis of the relaxed selection , which shows older mothers, contrary to younger mothers, are less likely to unconsciously terminate the fetus with trisomy 21 chromosomes. Another view is egg cells with the extra chromosomes are less likely to be selected but as the women ages more egg cells with extra chromosomes are present and there are more to choose from. The For Efficient Distribution Of The European Commission... 1) Briefly summarise the main points of the case Verboven s (2009) discusses vertical restraints, concluding their necessity for efficient distribution, discussing how the European Commission has altered its interpretation of Article 81 overtime. Three types of restraint are highlighted: Selective distribution, Exclusive distribution and Exclusive dealing, and that restraint adoption depended on current levels of regulation. Verboven (2009) explains that vertical restraints became subjected to EU Competition Laws and due to cumulative anti competitive effects were reformed, becoming stricter. By 2002, new block exemptions aimed to increase flexibility on acceptable agreements and that only Selective or Exclusive distribution can be applied, not both. Black clauses including Retail Price Maintenance (RPM) and passive selling outside of territories were listed. Nevertheless, post 2002 manufacturers were now allowed to make certain vertical agreements (excluding black clauses), assuring their market share was within the newly defined thresholds (in general 30%). Overall, Verboven (2009) emphasised three main issues. Firstly, double marginalisation occurring when both manufacturer and dealer apply separate profit incentivised mark ups. Secondly, vertical externalities result in dealers having no incentive to provide sale and after sale services, as the dealer ultimately provides the manufacturer with increased profits. Finally, competing dealerships may freeride on ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She was most appreciated by the poorer working class in the country. The working class championed behind Eva Perón not necessarily because of who she was, but what she represented. Eva was born an illegitimate, poor child. Her father died, leaving her and her siblings to be raised by their mother, his mistress. He left no assets, only an allowance to use his last name. She would go on huge tours across Europe where she would wear extravagant outfits, give speeches, and even hand out money. A majority of Europe reacted negatively to this ridiculous showmanship, but it raised a lot of support in her home country of Argentina, which was her real goal. However she was not loved by all. The country s military leaders hated this young actress who they saw as silly and flamboyant. To think that she would try to become vice president, so close to a high military position, was unthinkable for them. While the people loved her, she really had no authority in higher classes and in government. The professor Nalini Rao always taught her students about the importance of analyzing artworks by various viewpoints in order to appreciate underlying purposes of each artwork and how artworks are created, and The Starry Night and Fountain actually have both similarities and differences. While both Vincent van Gogh and Marcel Duchamp used new methods for depicting and reinterpreting the world, they differ in their reasons why they used new techniques. Duchamp is the pioneer of Modern Art because his artwork is more related to modern society than Van Gogh s. One similarity between Vincent van Gogh and Marcel Duchamp is that both sought new approaches to depicting the world. The Starry Night has distortions of nature by expressive use of colors. For example, Van Gogh depicted a moon and star filled night sky, but the crescent moon is as bright as the sun, and eleven stars painted by green, yellow, white, and pink are similar to jewels. Moreover, the Milky Way that looks a large swirling cloud gives individuals strong and powerful impressions of Van Gogh s uniqueness. As shown above, Van Gogh distorted nature by using various colors, and no one before Van Gogh depicted landscape energetically through colors according to Nathalia Brodskaïa (88). When the second wave occurs after 2 3 months of birth there is a gradual increase in testosterone levels, the neonatal cell population during this time frame is a mix of mature well developed Leydig cells and smaller ones (52). These cells possess well developed steroidogenic machinery expressing both the LH receptor and key steroidogenic enzymes such as 3βHSD, P450scc, P450c17 required for androgen synthesis (53). The neonatal androgen surge is believed to play a role in imprinting various cell types in the prostate, hypothalamus, genetalia and kidney, in such a way they respond appropriately to androgen stimulation during adulthood (54). The Leydig cells then regress and testis remain dormant until puberty (55). Following a prolonged childhood period of steroidogenic quiescence, the hypothalamus generates a pulse of GnRH around the 12th year (56). The onset GnRH typically occurs at night and is due in part to the gradual decline in nocturnal melatonin secretion from the pineal gland (56). There is no denying that professional wrestling is firmly entrenched as a part of modern culture. Wrestling has become a multimillion dollar industry with a very long history dating back hundreds of years. I have decided to write about and discuss the lack of explanation sociologists have when describing wrestling as a social phenomenon. The reason I have decided to write about this topic is because as a child I was fascinated by pro wrestling, more specifically, World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). I feel that wrestling has played an important role in my development socially, emotionally, and physically. To begin, it is important to understand that wrestling is above and beyond a spectacle as described by Roland Barthes. Wrestling is an investment in one s self. It is an accumulation of countless hours spent on the wrestling mat, in the gym, and in the studio. It is a display of hegemonic masculinity to its highest degree, wrestlers understand this. Professional Wrestlers understand that the nature of the sport is tough, unforgiving, and requires a superhero attitude. • 26. College Tuition Benefit Analysis Imagine somebody having just graduated from high school, and they are trying to get into a college, but they don t have to much say as to which college they go to because many students cannot afford to go to a nice college let alone a cheap college. For some people it s harder to imagine, but for others that is the life that they are living right now. According to the College Board of Education tuition has increased by 8.6% since 2012, meanwhile average household incomes have only increased by 2.23%. The following tuition increase trend is becoming a serious threat to American society, and must be slowed down. At this rate families will soon have no hope of ever paying for college debt. Many people want to blame the government to contributing greatly to the recent increase in tuition by saying there used to be a plethora of public funding opportunities for colleges, but that they were then all slashed. This is not even close to the reality of the situation. While people did use to be able to pay tuition out of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Reason why I choose Human Resource Manager is that I m currently pursuing Human Resource Development major at Northeastern Illinois University. I realize that dietician doesn t have as much opportunity as nurses and Human Resource Managers. I have a lack in few skills (critical thinking skills, detail oriented, emotional stability) to become a nurse or dietician. I have all the necessary skills to become an HR such as decision making skills, leadership skills, speaking skills, organizational skills, and interpersonal skills. Two of my career values are helping others and to influence others. I believe all the careers had a value of helping others and influencing others. Nurses help patients. Dietician helps clients to make informed food choices, about the foods they eat. My most important need is work life balance and stability. Work life balance is having a job that allows time for family and work. Stability is having a job that won t change over a long period of time. • 28. Organic Vs Organic Food The Right Choice It happens all too often a consumer goes to the supermarket on a run for the necessities: milk, eggs, bread, meat, fruit, vegetables and possibly more. Seems quite simple, however there are choices to make when it comes to the food you purchase. Some obvious decisions to be made could be the brand, size of package, or even the amount of each item to buy. There is one slightly more obscure choice to be made, though. Consumers have the power to choose the origin from which their food comes, prior to hitting the grocery shelves. Conventional or organic? An origin of pesticides and chemicals, or an origin of naturally nutrient rich soil. This appears to be an easy verdict when it is put into those brief terms; however, when price, clever marketing, and overall confusion of the subject are factored in, it becomes quite the predicament. Many consumers experience a dilemma when deciding what type of foods to feed themselves and their families. Consumers should purchase organic foods because of the additional health benefits they provide without the toxins that are evident in conventionally produced foods. What is organic? Organic is a government dealt certification that products, mostly foods, can obtain by neglecting to use pesticides, genetic modifications, chemical fertilizers, or hormones in their production (Morin 3). Organic food and conventional food only differ in the way they are produced, yet the more natural production of organic foods tend to yield ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The awkwardness, the pimples, the first crush, the first kiss? Wasn t it the best? Don t you wish you could go back? I don t. Like most people I hated adolescence it was a strange and confusing time. Looking back at my adolescents I sometimes wonder why I acted the way I did. During this observation I couldn t help but think I really hope I wasn t this bad back then, but lets face it I probably was. Introduction My group observed adolescents, we were looking for variations in behavior between males and females. We theorized that in public places adolescent males and females would act differently according to the environment they were in. We also predicted that their behavior would be influenced by who they were around, peers or parents. O Koon, J. (1997), did a study looking at adolescents relationships to parents and peers. In his study he found that females had a much stronger attachment to their peers than males, attachment to parents was strong for both. In our observations we saw some similar results. Methods For our research project we split our group and divided up the observation tasks. • 31. Cause And Effect Of Burmese Pythons The Burmese python (Python bivittatus) is one of the largest snakes in the world, measuring up to 5.74 meters long and weighing up to 182.8 kilograms. The species is native to southeast Asia and in its native habitat, consumes a wide array of prey including many different mammal, amphibian, lizard, snake, bird, and fish species (Snow et al. 2007). In southern Florida, pythons have established themselves across thousands of square kilometers including all of Everglades National Park (Boback et al. 2016). Research points to multiple instances of pet release to be the cause of their introduction to the Everglades as a foreign species (Snow et al. 2007). Python populations have significantly increased in both abundance and geographic range in the Everglades since their introduction, preying on a wide variety of native mammals and birds, posing a serious problem as an invasive species and apex predator (Dorcas et al. 2012). As an invasive species, the Burmese python has an immense impact on the native populations of the Everglades. In the last 20 years, observations of mammals in the Everglades have declined by 95% while the number of non native Burmese pythons in the park has significantly increased (Sovie et al. 2016). Data from game cameras used in a study by Willson support this observation, showing the spatial pattern of mammal abundance being inversely correlated with spatial expansion of Burmese pythons in the Everglades (Willson 2017). These same individuals could also be responsible for delivering these pieces to various stations, eliminating the need for the station workers to do so. By creating a staircase cell in their factory, B B can realize efficiencies that would allow them to eliminate waste and be more competitive in the areas of price and lead time. This would eventually reduce their order backlog, making their production more in line with estimates. 2.) What are likely to be the main categories of costs and benefits in establishing the cell? Are there any non financial benefits which should be taken into account? B B may face some initial outlay costs in creating specific staircase stations. Additionally, there may be costs associated with training, as they ensure that their joiners can function as experts in their respective areas. This might even require a short period of inactivity or even a halt in production as they seek to get workers up to speed. However, the benefits seem to outweigh these initial costs. B B would be in a position to handle more volume and could make far better use of their existing resources. Orders would have a better chance of being completed on time and the elimination of waste would allow for more competitive quotes. Ultimately, this would put B B in a more competitive position to win business and become more profitable. 3.) At what stage, and how, should Dean sell his idea to the Joinery Manager and the workers? How the individual grows psychically, cognitively and how they are socially over time. All of these factors shape us into the person new become. I have decided to study in and focus on Erik Erikson s theory of psychosocial development. He takes a closer look on the choices that we are forced to deal with and the conflicts they make during different parts of their life. His theory has eight theories, there are different types of problems and conflicts with each stage that an individual will encounter and have to resolve. It s important to deal with these conflicts that are presented to the individual during the stages, because if they are not taking care of the individual will end up struggling with them later on in life. Erikson has a developmental process that explains the development between infancy to adulthood. He explains this within 8 stages; during these stages the individual experiences crisis which could have a positive or a negative outcome on the person s personality. Erikson is known as an ego psychologist focusing on culture and society and the conflicts that can take place with someone s ego (McLeod, S). The first stage is trust vs. mistrust this occurs during the first year of life where the infant is uncertain about the world and they have to develop feelings. The infant finds hope in trusting someone, and has to figure out who they will choose not to trust. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
