First thing been identified about IKEA is that it is not just a furniture trader but provides solutions to
lot of people for an affordable price. Here the affordable price does not mean low quality product but
it originates lower cost products. So the first strategy in IKEA is the Overall Cost Leadership. They
maintain their cost in a lower level without destroying to its quality. IKEA as a prominent furniture
franchiser it faces for an enormous demand in every day. According to the volume they have hefty
show room which has adjusted capacity distribution. Thus, they are sustaining a restaurant chain along
with their store with their occupant and also cultural foods. They have used the strategy of Developing
Complementary Services in managing their demand. IKEA started in Sweden but now it has blow out
to 40 countries with 330 stores. It is a comprehensive company it has expands the company to every
country. IKEA been identified as Globalization Strategy and the influences they used in entering to
these countries. Before they decide in entering to a country it conducts a research on the viability and
sustainability of it. For an example they have once tried to enter to the New Zealand market but
according to the investigation finding there will be an enormous traffic jam in Auckland if they open a
store so they give up the idea. As the conclusion of the strategies of IKEA they used 3 main strategies
to become successful in shorter time period. They are; Overall Cost Leadership Developing

Too Much Power In George Orwell s 1984
There are some aspects that I think are most important to the book that connects to our everyday lives.
Power is the controlling of someone s actions by the government. Freedom is being able to do what
you want, how you want to do it. Privacy is having the ability to not have someone look through your
stuff without someone asking. These aspects connected more with the world because people are going
through difficulties with these things. Orwell s 1984 is relevant in the year 2016 because The United
States government and the Oceania government are similar in their use of freedom, restricted power,
and privacy for the citizens. The Oceanian government and the United States government use power to
have control over what people say, do and think. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only recognized purpose of the marriage was to beget children for the service of the Party (Orwell
65). This explains that the only way for them to get married to one another is of they go to the
government and the government has to approve of it. This shows that the government has power of
their relationships. If the government don t like the relationship, then those people can t be together.
They had to have a purpose for getting married and the only real purpose was the children they would
make. The gay marriage paradox: Begging the government for a license to marry isn t freedom; it s
enslavement to Big Brother (Adams). On June 26, 2015, the United States of America legalized gay
marriage. You shouldn t have to knock on the door for you to get freedom. Based on John Locke s
idea, people should be inherited with natural rights and by restricting gay marriage limits those rights.
This shows that American and English societies are based on the same thing. The government treats
everybody the same when it comes to certain things. When the government did this, they had the
power to say who can marry who and what can marry what. It s enslavement to Big

overwintering hibernacula Hope Lindsey Jordan Biology 4080/4081 Professor Burton April 11, 2017
ABSTRACT Hibernaculum are places where creatures seek refuge and most hibernacula and summer
dens are found beside old fallen logs (73%)(. Hibernacula and Summer Den Sites of Pine Snakes
(Pituophis melanoleucus) in the New Jersey Pine Barrens). Snakes have hibernaculum, which are like

conditions, social opportunities, and contain basking sites, which important in thermoregulation

It is hypothesized that snakes are capable of leaving pheromone trails for themselves or their offspring
to locate hibernacula because the hibernacula keep them from freezing in the winter[cite conspecific
trailing behavior of red sided garter snakes] To contrary belief, snakes are not solitary animals when it
comes to hibernacula.Snakes are often highly selective in the choice of sites for hibernation, and
suitable sites can potentially be a limiting resource(.Pine Snake (Pituophis Ruthveni and Pituophis
Melanoleucus Lodingi) Hibernacula D. C. Rudolph, R. R. Schaefer, S. J. Burgdorf, M. Duran, and R.
N. Conner) Snakes colonize together and use hibernaculum to escape frigid winters (Macartney et al.
1989; Sexton et al. 1992) and are likely to overwinter to avoid freezing temperatures (Mathies T. and
Martin. J.D 2008) in order to regulate physiological processes after spring emergence for basking
(Gregory 1984). Given the benefits of hibernaculum, in the off chance snakes do not locate
hibernacula is it more like for that snake to run the risk of not surviving. The high fidelity that snakes
display towards specific hibernacula suggests that hibernacula have unique characteristics which allow
them to be repeatedly relocated and features which may be critical in allowing overwinter survival

Analysis Of American Dance
My favorite dance was the contemporary routine with Derek, Jaja, and Alexia. The choreographer,
Stacey Tookey, explained that the piece was about bravery in different forms: Derek played a veteran,
Jaja was portraying a woman leaving an abusive relationship, and Alexia took on the role of a single
mother. I really enjoyed the dance because of the story it was trying to convey; each dancer dove into
character and brought out complex emotions through their movements. The dancers connected deeply
with each of their stories, even though they were completely different people. They were portraying
things that they had never personally experienced in their lives before. They showed the strengths of
the characters along with their weaknesses, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I believe that the routine was not well put together. A necessary component in the piece was an overly
cocky, in your face attitude. The piece was set to Whuteva by Remy Ma, which reflects this attitude.
The dancers however, did not deliver. They weren t exuding the confidence that the piece demanded
from them and because of this, the music overshadowed the performers. I also disliked this piece
because of the costumes. Keeping in mind that this piece was supposed to have a loud, aggressive vibe
to it, the costumes did not really portray that for me. Instead, they were sloppy and distracting. They
also got in the way of some of the steps, such as when the dancers had to put their arms up in the air;
their hoodies were flying all over the place. At some points in the piece, some of the dancers visibly
push up their sleeves or adjust their clothing. The costumes did not elevate the performance, they were
a poor choice and detracted from the

How Drugs Affect The Brain And Nervous System
Drugs have been present in history since the master cultures until today in our daily life. In this essay I
will discuss how different drugs affect the brain as well as our nervous system. There are two types of
drugs therapeutic which used for health problems(i.e ibuprofen used for inflammation) and
recreational drugs which are illegal used for the pleasure of the individual(marijuana). Bio
psychologists are interested in drugs that affect the brain and the nervous system. The nervous system
is a network of tissues of ectodermal origin. Its primary function is to capture and process the signals

Difference Between Chino And Ana Code Of Ethics
Part1
The Czech Code of Ethics and the ANA Code of Ethics did indeed have a similarity between the two
of them. Both code of ethics focused and emphasized on nurses making their patients a priority. In
making their patient a priority in both codes of ethics. In making their patients a priority each patient
is to be approached with a holistic approach. An approach where each patient is treated as an
individual by a cases by case bases. In making their patient a priority both codes of ethics focused on

Why Blonsky Is My Favorite Villain
Villain There are many villains that are in many movies and shows. A villain is someone who is the
bad guy who tries to destroy or hurt the hero of the story. Villains can come in many different shapes
and sizes, race and ethnicities. This one villain that catches my eyes is Abomination. The reason to
why he is my favorite villain is because he starts off by hating the hulk. Before the abomination turns
to what it was Blonsky. As they are fighting, Blonsky stands up to hulk as he is still in human for
which I think takes a lot of guts to do because hulk is a huge guy. Blonsky has a way to get hulk to
chase him to get hulk to go into a trap. Blonsky shows a great amount of speed to run away for the
gigantic hulk that is trying to kill him.

What Makes King Arthur An Intriguing Person
Everybody has their Great Qualities
In Analysis: What Made King Arthur an Intriguing Person
What are your qualities? Just like everyone King Arthur has his good and bad qualities. King Arthur s
good qualities is what makes him an intriguing person. King Arthur was a legendary ruler of Britain
whose life and deeds became the basis for a collection of tales known as the Arthurian legends. As the
leading figure in British mythology, King Arthur is a national hero and a symbol of Britain s heroic
heritage. But his appeal is not limited to Britain. The Arthurian story, with its elements of mystery,
magic, love, war, adventure, betrayal, chivalry, and fate, has touched the popular imagination and has
become part of the world s shared mythology. King Arthur was born somewhere in the misty region
where history and imagination meet (Gale Student Resources). The legend of King Arthur may have
been based on the life of one or more Celtic warriors who fought the Anglo Saxon invaders of
England in the late fifth and early sixth centuries. The Britons, the island s ... Show more content on

very end. After King Arthur got struck by lightning he never gave up hope that his knights would

France at the insistence of his nephew, Gawain, to besiege his former friend and knight, Lancelot, for
his involvement with Queen Guinevere. However, the king s attempts to punish Lancelot are
halfhearted, and he is soon forced to abandon them altogether when he learns that his illegitimate son,
Mordred, has seized control of England. Arthur leads his forces back to England, and Mordred attacks
then upon their landing. Gawain is killed in the fighting, but before he dies, he manages to send word

For all of the tests conducted, the same apparatus was used, and the sample materials in the system
were not altered between any of the tests. Seeing as the same apparatus was used for all tests, the inner
chamber diameter of 2 inches remained constant for all tests. Additionally, the apparatus was purged
with nitrogen immediately before the start of each trial to ensure that diffusion did not begin before
the start of the timer. The information that was recorded for each test included the elapsed time, the
weight of the condenser both before and after collecting the vapors, and the distance from the point of
collection to the gas liquid interface. In addition, the room temperature and pressure was recorded
each day due to the role of these measurements in calculating the predicted values. For the testing of
acetone, data was gathered at half hour intervals ranging from 30 minutes to 90 minutes. During these
trials, the room temperature was recorded at 22.5℃ and the room pressure was 29.18 inches Hg. Raw

Analysis Of Cormac Mccarthy s Suttree Essay
Throughout Cormac McCarthy s Suttree, the title character is constantly evolving throughout
adulthood. We first meet Suttree while he is in prison, a place where he has major conflicts with his
inner self. By the end of his journey, Suttree is more unified and has found inner peace. Carl Jung is an
analytical psychologist who has many theories based on the human unconscious. Jung s premier
psychological theory of archetypes where every person falls into different archetypes help to identify
Suttree. Suttree falls into three different archetypes: the seeker archetype, the innocent archetype, and
by the end of the novel the self archetype. Most of these characteristics are seen through his decisions
while interacting with others, but his time spent alone also helps to prove that Suttree has these
archetypes more than any others. Also, since he shows to be these three archetypes, it is easier to
sympathize with Suttree, instead of declaring him as a solipsistic being. Another one of Carl Jung s
most popular psychological theories is the belief of multiple layers of consciousness. His most
popularized belief is the idea of the collective unconscious. In Suttree, the collective unconsciousness
is represented through the descriptions of the Reese family. The collective unconscious represents the
primitive nature of humans, and the Reese family is McCarthy s way of showing his feelings towards
the collective mind.
Carl Jung s psychology has been used throughout the years to analyze

Enduring Love In Wuthering Heights
Wuthering Heights: An Ever Lasting Love Emily Bronte takes romance to a darker side in her gothic
novel Wuthering Heights. She develops a relationship between the characters and the setting which
further reveal her central themes and conveys her idea. Bronte s work of art makes an attempt to argue
that social class has the power to be a deciding factor in who one chooses to love. This is seen and
conveyed through her characterization, the setting, and revealed through central themes. In Wuthering
Heights complex characters are created to further emphasize how fatal attraction can lead to major
conflicts. Bronte s gothic spin begins with Heathcliff s character who arrives to Wuthering Heights
when Mr. Earnshaw returns from Liverpool. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is instantly recognized what the difference between the two settings is. Wuthering Heights is viewed
in a darker light whereas Thrushcross Grange is bright and more inviting. After the incident Catherine
is then ordered to stay at the Grange with the Linton s for a couple weeks. During this time, she
transforms from a wild savage girl (Baba) into a lady. Heathcliff recalls Catherine s superb treatment
at the Lintons, Afterwards, they dried and combed her beautiful hair, and gave her a pair of enormous
slippers, and wheeled her to the fire; as merry as she could be (Bronte) Catherine s treatment contrasts
the way Mr. Lockwood was greeted at Wuthering Heights. It is evident that the two manors are as
different as the people in them. A transformation is made in Catherine s appearance and character
when she marries Edgar and moves over to Grange where she experiences life being spoiled and
pampered as she pleases. When she is welcomed back to the Heights Heathcliff greets her and in
return is insulted when she laughs to find him dirty (55) Evidently, this supports that her
transformation is not only physical but also spiritual for her comparison between them two. Also
adding to the fact that the two manors are better understood as two different worlds. Even though
Catherine grew up in Heathcliff s world, her move has caused her to change making their love
impossible to pursue. Since then, she comes to spend more time with Edgar while cutting time to be
with Heathcliff. She explains to Nelly her reasons for taking Edgars hand in marriage the ground
under his feet, and the air over his head, and every thing he touches, and every word he says I love all
his looks, and all his actions, and him entirely, and altogether (Bronte) It is undeniable that her love
for Edgar is based off his prestige and not entirely for who he is. She is seduced by his wealth and
civilized life at the

Zoroastrianism Essay examples
Zoroastrianism
Zoroastrianism is one of the oldest monotheistic religions in the world today. Its adherents number
250,000, but thousands of years ago it was the state religion of the mighty Persian Empire and one of
the most powerful religions in the world. In this paper I will tell you about the history of
Zoroastrianism and its founder, Zoroaster, also known as Zarathushtra. I will discuss their scripture,
doctrines, and end by examining in detail the commonalities in both doctrine and legend which will
illustrate the influence that Zoroastrianism has had on more modern monotheistic religions.

(BBC, 2005) Today in India there still exists a large number of these Parsis.
Zoroastrian Scripture
Zoroastrian scripture is called the Avesta and was passed down orally generation after generation by
priests. As time passed, the language of the people changed in such a way that the meaning of the
teachings of Zarathushtra became difficult to understand, perhaps not unlike old English has evolved
into the modernized American version we used in the United States today. Because of this, the oral
tradition of the Avesta became more of an explanation in more plain terms of the ancient script.
(Skjaervo, 2005)
There two different parts to the Avesta. The old Avesta contains the Gathas written by Zarathushtra
which consists of 17 poems, or hymns, written for Ahura Mazda and are designed to encourage people
to live their lives as directed by God. The religious view of the Gathas in the world is that we live in as
a theater of conflict between two diametrically opposed moral spirits (mainyus), they stand for mental
attitudes in the psychological domain, and also opposing moral vectors in all of creation. They are the
Spirit of Goodness (Spenta Mainyu), and the Spirit of Evil. (CAIS, 2006).
The other section of the Avesta includes:
• The Yasna: Recited during the fire ritual.
• The Videvdad: This discusses the duality of the earth.

DEN 302 Applied Aerodynamics
SURFACE PRESSURE MEASUREMENTS ON AN AEROFOIL IN TRANSONIC FLOW
Abstract
The objective of this exercise is to measure the pressure distribution across the surface on an aerofoil
in a wind tunnel. The aerofoil is tested under several different Mach numbers from subsonic to
supercritical. The purpose of measuring the pressure distributions is to assess the validity of the
Prandtl Glauert law and to discuss the changing chracteristics of the flow as the Mach number
increases from subsonic to transonic.
As a result of the experiment and computation of data, the aerofoil was found to have a critical Mach
number of M=0.732. Below this freestream Mach number the Prandtl Glauert law predicted results

Jessica Vs. Amber
Although people generate a separate profile for each individual they meet, sometimes the profiles are
incredibly different. In high school everyone befriends many persons of different races, personalities,
as well as social groups, yet we tend to befriend remarkably similar individuals. Rarely do we realize,
some people are actually more different than we know. Freshman year, I entered into a world all
different than what I was used to, but yet I made two amazing friends. Jessica and Amber both loved
school, friends, and doing art outside of school. Although between them are many differences, but a
few stand out from the others. College and work ethic, their personalities, and talents differ greatly.
Work and education bring forward some attributes in people that are extremely different from others.
Jessica and Amber are extremely different, especially in this way. Jessica loves to learn in general but

Bacterial Vaginosis Case Studies
Bacterial Vaginosis
Last year I experience for the first time a bacterial vaginosis. It was horrible; a long month of intense
itch, soreness and burning whenever I urinated or had intercourse. My mother recommended I try
some over the counter antifungal cream, I purchase Monistat 7 ( Miconazole Nitrate 2%) and it
worked great. I have not had reoccurrence of bacterial vaginosis but I have heard it is very common to
experience a relapse.
Occurs when there is disequilibrium of normal vaginal flora where Lactobacilli decreases in

spokesperson. But then, things changed as got they got to heaven. The tortoise told the officials that
his name was All of you, so when all the foods and gifts came, the officials said this is for all of you,
and the tortoise claimed everything for himself. The birds got so angry they all left him stranded in
heaven except for the Parrot. The tortoise sent a message through the Parrot to his family to bring out
all the soft things in his house so he could land on them, but the Parrot still enraged told his family
otherwise. All the hard things were brought out and the tortoise landed on them, which is the reason
why the tortoise has a broken shell today. I was told this story over and over again growing up, and I

Essay about Ideologies, Narrative, Stereotypes and Discourses
According to French sociologist Pierre Bourdieu, a habitus is referring to a person s way of thinking,
acting, and behaving. A habitus is a structure that helps a person comprehend and deal with society. It
can be simply seen as a merger of society and the individual. (Wysocka, Paulina, 2013). Habitus is
both a structured structure the effect of the actions of, and our interactions with, others and a
structuring structure it suggests and constrains our future actions (Bourdieu, 1992). In other words,
habitus is both the embodiment of our social location (i.e., class, ethnicity, race, sexuality, gender,
generation, and nationality) (Noble amp; Watkins, 2003) and the structure of social relations that

of fairness and harmony (Lane, Dr.Karen, 2013) This plainly brings into question human agency and

Mary Warren Character Analysis
Mystery of Mary Warren
Everything is not what it seems, while this lyric may seem trite, it holds great truth. People, places,
activities, each can be viewed in more than one way depending on the circumstances. From these
viewpoints spring complexities and mystery in the shape of differing facades.
Mary Warren, a young woman living in Massachusetts during the Salem witch trials, shows no
exception to differing viewpoints. Throughout The Crucible, in which Mary Warren is a character, the
very children whom the town considers holy, appear also to perpetrate the vicious crime of murder
through false allegations of witchcraft. Unable to recognize the children s crime because of their
innocent appearance, citizens of Salem conduct dozens of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The sudden change in Mary s opinion of both the girls and John Proctor, exhibits her apparent
inability to stand firm against the manipulative powers of Abigail. While this trait could seem
negative, passed off as fickle, Mary was able to keep her true identity a mystery to Salem.
Through turning against John, Mary deceived not only him, but indirectly Abigail too. After Mary had
sided with Abigail and the other girls, she accused John of personifying . . . the devil s man (524),
meaning a wizard. Previously, Abigail and John Proctor were involved, a relationship in which Mary
knew of. By accusing John of wizardry, Mary hurt the only person in Salem Abigail had strong,
positive feelings towards, likely knowing the consequences of her accusation. While the accusation of
John could have been simply the opportunity of the moment, it is likely Mary used her personal
knowledge of Abigail to get revenge after being accused of witchcraft. A facade of innocence allowed
Mary to deceive those around her, often without their knowledge.
Along with giving the impression of manipulability, Mary shows apparent genuine concern for those
who appear to control her. When the governor visited the Proctors home to arrest Elizabeth, Mary was
there working as a servant and was asked about the court s main piece of evidence, the poppet , or
doll. Mary also answered Reverend Hale, who asked about the needle in the poppet, insisting she
meant no harm

The NCBE appealed the injunction on the basis that Enyart was unlikely to succeed on merits, that she
had now shown irreparable harm from not having the accommodations, and that the injunction is not
in the public s favor. Enyart argued that the inability to use her preferred accommodation caused her
increased eyestrain and nausea that led to her inability to complete the questions in the allotted time.
This meant that her disability had severe impact on her performance on the exam. Despite being
named the prevailing party and the District Court issuing a primary injunction, Enyart had not yet
received her preferred accommodations on the NCBE administered sections of the Multistate Bar
Exam. The NCBE puts forth the claim that the plaintiff, Enyart has not shown that she is likely to
succeed on merit with the accommodations. They also state that Enyart has not shown proof of
irreparable harm having occurred due to not having her preferred accommodations. Furthermore, they
claim that they have provided satisfactory alternate accommodations other than TextZoom and JAWS
by providing access to a reader, audio tapes, braille version of the exam, and CCTV footage all of
which Enyart has used previously as accommodations. Enyart denies these claims under the basis that
she has proven likely to succeed on merit already in district court and that by not having the necessary
accommodations she endured unneeded harm and thus inability to complete the exam. She also

By predicting behavior, psychologists try to determine if a person is likely to make healthy or
unhealthy decisions when confronted with certain situations. Most psychologist use experiments to
make predictions.
Part of what I learned in psychology is about Psychological science and when it was born . Also, some
of psychology s first graduate students studied the atoms of the mind by conducting experiments in
Leipzig, Germany in 1879. American philosopher William James wrote an important 1890 psychology
textbook. Mary Calkins, James s student, became the APA s first female president.
Psychology has taught me other ways to look at science. It has taught me that science is a discipline
that demonstrates an organized body of knowledge. The scientific method is observing phenomena,
formulating hypothesis. A hypothesis is a tentative explanation that can be tested and then accepted or
rejected. Psychology has taught me other ways to look at science and different ways to define the
terms.
What does a psychologist do? A psychologist is basically a scientist conducting research and testing
hypotheses. Science practitioners are clinical or counseling psychologists. Psychology s past and

In your judgment is Intel a monopoly ? Did Intel use monopoly like power, in other words, did Intel
achieve its objectives by relying on power that it had due to its control of a large portion of the
market? Explain your answers.
In my judgment Intel did react like a monopoly. Pure monopoly exists when a single firm is the sole
producer of a product for which there are no close substitutes. The characteristics of a monopoly are a
single seller, unique product no substitutions, the firm is the price maker and entry and exits are
blocked. In this case study there were several evidence that Intel attempted to create a monopoly. First,

In your view, did Intel violate either of the two key sections of the Sherman Antitrust Act?
The Sherman Antitrust Act is a competition law passed by Congress in 1890. It prohibits certain
business activities that reduce competition in the marketplace, and requires the United States federal
government to investigate and pursue trusts, companies, and organizations suspected of being in
violation. It was the first Federal statute to limit cartels and monopolies, and today still forms the basis
for most antitrust litigation by the United States federal government. Section 1 states contract,
combination or conspiracy, in restraint of trade or commerce among the several states, or foreign
nations is hereby declared illegal. Intel did not break Section 1 of the Sherman Act because the
company did not prohibit competing companies from making agreements to fix prices, to divide up
territories or customers, or to restrict the quantity of goods they bring to the market. Section 2 of the
Sherman Act states every person who shall monopolize or attempt to monopolize or combine or
conspire with any other person or persons to monopolize any part of the trade or commerce among the
several states, or with foreign nations, shall be deemed guilty of a felony. Intel did violate Section2 of

Iago Is Evil Essay
In the play Othello, Iago is automatically labelled as evil for being the villain, but what if he is
something more? A psychopath is defined as someone who lacks a sense of morality with an antisocial
personality disorder, such as one that has established into a corrupt and/or criminal character (The
American Heritage). In the Bible, manipulation is defined as an evil characteristic trait (Marx 24 25);
meaning Iago has some evil but is he pure evil? What if he is just a man driven by power to gain more
than just the lieutenant position or he is a mixture of all these? The class of characters Iago belongs to
is common to Shakespeare, they have great intellectual activity and seem to misperceive the practical
distinctions of right and wrong (Bloom 432). Throughout the play Iago manipulates everyone into

However power can change someone for better or for worse, in Iago s case it would be for worse.
When someone realizes their own capabilities they get a surge of power, too much power can lead to
doing more than intended just because that person has the authourity to do as much as they want. Iago
learned how much in control he was in Act I, Scene iii, The Moor is open and straightforward. He
thinks any man who seems honest is honest. People like that are easy to manipulate. So it s all
decided. I ve worked it out. With a little help from the devil, I ll bring this monstrous plan to success.

Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban
Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest
places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around
them. Even Muggles feel their presence, though they can t see them (Rowling 187). A major factor
driving the action and theme of J.K. Rowling s third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban,
is the element of fear represented by the dementors upon the magical community and the terror felt
when witches and wizards were threatened by the Dementor s horrific Kiss. In the scene (246 248)
where Harry Potter and Professor Lupin are having a drink at the Three Broomsticks tavern, Harry
decides to ask about the dementors and the Dementor s Kiss. This scene is important because it ties
together all the previous information about the dementors, and emphasizes how negatively they
epitomize the forces of evil in the magical community, in which Harry Potter and other witches and
wizards live. Harry says to Professor Lupin What is under the dementor s hood? (Rowling 246), the
professor s answer is both truthful and frightening. Professor Lupin mentions that the dementors are so
evil that even the Muggle community fears their presence, but cannot see them or know what kind of
creatures they really are, and therefore, the Muggle community is only aware of the strange cold
feeling that makes them afraid of unseen entities. However, the wizarding community whose ability to

Dionysian Spirit Research Paper
Three reasons why it s possible to exist as Dionysian spirit: 1. It s where we came from our first
actions, as evidenced in infancy, are Dionysian; all needs of survival are expressed and met through
emotional expression and reciprocation only and instinctively. It is for this reason as well that music,
often the purest expression of emotion outside of a human her/himself, is a child s first non human
connection and stimulus. Children don t need to be taught how to dance; the compulsion to move one
s body in sync with rhythms/emotions is innate. There is a solace afforded by instinctual indulgence,

any other medium and consequently makes such ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Life is impossible. Yet like a flower sprouting through our great cement art, persists life does, deep
inside the holes from which everything is encountered, as all eyes are empty in the middle. There is no
object without a subject. Thus, although not necessarily dependent on, all is indivisible from
subjectivity, existing merely as representation, as Schoepenhauer (one of Nietzsche s influencers)

Slumdog Millionaire Sociology
Media plays a significant role in our society. It is all around us, from the music we listen to on the
radio, the shows we watch on the television, to the articles that we read from the internet. Its main job
is to entertain, inform and educate society about what is going on in the world. Without it, the world
would be a dull place and people wouldn t know what is going on in the society. Listening to songs or
watching movies can be both delightful and relaxing, but this entertainment could possibly have a
negative effect; For instance, it could shift your behavior. While media can be very useful, it can also

As a matter of fact, it can shape people s attitude in a positive way. Let s take Slumdog millionaire,
directed by Danny Boyle, as an example. This movie is about Jamal, an 18 year old orphan from the
slums of Mumbai and a former street child, who is a contestant on Who Wants to Be Millionaire and is
one question away from the grand prize. But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on
suspicion of cheating because of the impossibility of a simple Slumdog with very little education
knowing all the answers. Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum
where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road. Long story short, Jamal
manage to answer the last question correctly and wins the grand prize. This movie shows that people
should not judge others from their origins. I used to think that people from the slums were ignorant
before watching this movie. It certainly change my perspective and the way I view people from the
slums. Another thing that I learned from this movie is that if you have determination and perseverance
to pursue your goals, you will eventually reach them. Jamal works very hard to work his way up from
the slum to winning the grand prize. Overall, this movie inspires me to work harder and don t give up

Watching Tv Essay
Imagine a world where the freedom to binge watch seven, eight, or fifteen episodes of your favorite
TV shows is nonexistent. This thought alone surely would evoke a unique terror in the hearts of many
children, teenagers, and, funnily enough, adults as well. However, with the glorious invention of
Netflix, people have been able to watch their favorite movies and television shows whenever they d
like, at whatever pace they d like.
Ever since Netflix was purchased in my household, I have been blessed with the opportunity to watch
each season of Friends, The Office, Gossip Girl, and One Tree Hill. And even better, I was able to
zoom through hours of episodes whenever I had a free moment to spare. Each show was at mercy of
my remote. I could command my television to play any episode I wished, from any show that I
wished, and within the next 60 seconds I would be watching it. My friends, with Netflix we now have
the freedom to be kings and queens of our television sets, an authority we didn t even know that we
needed so desperately.
There s a sense of demand surrounding our world today. When we want something, we expect to
receive it as quickly as possible, and when things don t come to us as promptly as we d like we get
angry. It s the way we ve all been inclined to feel. Although we all know the world obviously doesn t

The Transition Between Classical And Romantic Styles
Franz Joseph Haydn was a kind, simple man whose eyes beamed with benevolence (Dies), and he
never forgot his humble origin. His string quartet known as The Lark embodies the Romantic and
Neoclassical styles of its time and is a well represented example of the Apollonian Order aesthetic. He
was an important aspect in the transition between the Classical and Romantic styles as well as an
excellent model for the music of his time.
Joseph Haydn was born March 31, 1732, in the marshy town of Rohrau, Lower Austria. Born as one
of six surviving children of Maria and Mathias Haydn, he began his education in music at a young age
and, upon maturity, began his work as a freelance musician. He quickly started to acquire aristocratic
patronage, and in 1761 gained a music director (or Kappelmeister) position at the Esterháza Palace in
Austria working for Prince Nicolaus I. His composition of the six string quartets comprising Opus 64
was completed in 1790 after nearly thirty years of experiment. Opus 64 was one of two sets of six
string quartets commissioned by and written for Johann Tost, a violinist in Prince Nicolaus Esterhazy s
orchestra. The quartets were said to be encouraged by the Prince s housekeeper, Maria Anna von
Jerlischek (or Fräulein Nanette as referred to by Haydn in his letters to Maria Anna von Genzinger),
who would later become Tost s wife. The period during which the quartet was written occurred on the
cusp of Romanticism, in the midst of the American

My Childhood Speech
I always ask myself this question. Was I really that annoying when I was small? Every time I see my
sister acting out of control. She runs and screams that give you a great big headache. Since I can
barely remember things I did when I was small I asked my parent s many questions. Now let get
started with this chapter that talks about my childhood. Let us start with mom s story. When I first
started school I was really excited. When I first arrived in the classroom, I didn t cry. I was really
surprised when she said that. She told me that my little sister and I were the only children who didn t
cry. My brothers did cry when they first started school. She really didn t know what I did in school
because she wasn t there but she remembers that every time she went to pick me up I always had a
smile on my face. Now it s dad s story time. His story takes place at home. My dad worked so he didn
t really have time to spend with us but when he did he said that I used to make the biggest disasters
that took lots of cleaning up. One time I had baby powder and I accidentally spilled some powder.
Some of the powder fell on my hand, so I blew it off. When I blew it off it created a big cloud of
powder. It was cool to see a cloud of powder fly in the air so I poured all the powder in my hands and
threw it in the air. It was like snow in the hot summer. When my parents found out what I was doing

Looking Down At The Bottom Looking Up
Looking Down Standing at the bottom looking up, there seems to be countless stairs which seem
impossible to overcome. Yet, knowing the long trip that is ahead will be worth the breathtaking site
which awaits at the top. So you set out, determined to climb the top of this magnificent hill. Walking
up the stairs is like walking up the stairways to heaven, a long trip but beautiful once you arrive. Once
passing the six flights of stairs, you still do not arrive. There is still a long path ahead of you. Hiking at
a sixty degree angle all the way to the top stepping over countless rocks and pipes up the dusty trail.
The nature around reminds you that fall is on its way. With dying plants and grass all around, and the
leaves on the trees starting to change color. As you push yourself higher and higher up the hill, the
temperature slowly continues to drop. Slowly the beautiful sight you have in store starts to become
visible. Once finally arriving to the top from the trip that seemed to have taken so much longer then
have thought, stretched before you is a sight so beautiful, it takes one s breath away. Once to the top
there is no one around. The few people that are visible are just the cars and people walking down
sidewalks far below. The only sounds are the faint sounds of the city; dogs barking, cars traveling past,
birds chirping, and the chiming of the hour of the large clock on campus. The mind is instantly cleared
and it feels as though there are no worries in the world.

I don t where their hands been, how do I know they washed after taking a dump?Mind in fact, how do
you know they wiped their ass after they were done. People be nasty these days, you don t even know
to trust anymore. I glared at the empty beer bottle that has thousands no millions of germs on them.
I m not touching that bottle.
Izzy just spin it, your hands don t even have to stay on it for more than five seconds.
I.am.not.spinning.the.bottle. I said empathizing every word.
Like anyone would want to kiss you. Tristen s said for everyone to hear.
I glared at the stupid brunette, her voice is so annoying. I hate her guts, she thinks she s high and
mighty, but she s just human like every else. But her annoying comment was what made me spin the
bottle, telling her I am not scared of rejection. Cuttesa watch an anteeseption the bottle spinning which
made me a little worried. I shouldn t of spinned it, I should ve of just gotten up and burn this whole
place down and run home. They ll just say some drunk person bruned down the house and if anyone

Analysis Of I Am A Farmer By Aika Yamashiro
Aiko Yamashiro is a poet, English major, and the author of Values of Hawai i 2: Ancestral Roots,
Oceanic Views which she published on May 10th, 2017. She compiled stories relating to the values of
Hawaii, including the poem I am a Farmer by U ilani Hideko Kalawe O Kou Ola Ana Kokaua Pulama
Arasato. Arasato writes I am a farmer in the first person perspective; You should stop and listen, the
aina is trying to speak. Reinforces that Arasato is explaining a situation to everyone about the lands of
Hawaii. Arasato s purpose in I am a Farmer is to illustrate events that influenced Hawai i land. From
ancient Hawaiian times, during the time the Ali i ruled, to modern day Hawaii, the land in which
generations were promised, slowly disappeared as hungry real estate people bought it up. Infuriating,
feeling betrayed, and being voided of their land brings darkness to the farmers and the reason why
Arasato creates this poem to explain the history of farmers suffering. I agree with Arasato s claim that
the farming land was wrongfully taken and deserves to be given back to those who rightfully own
them because Hawaii is a place of fertility and where farmers thrive to grow food for its people. It s
been a heritage for generations and if people take care of the land, the land will surely provide back.
Therefore, the poem I am a Farmer explains the history of farming in Hawaii by relating to the past,
explaining the challenges faced, and what the future of farming can be if the

Grade Inflation And High Grades Inflation
Grade inflation, the idea that students are receiving grades that they have not worked for and therefore
don t deserve them. But what s so wrong about grade inflation? When learning about this subject we
also open the doors to learning about the multitude of other problems plaguing our educational system
that could use our attention much more than grade inflation does. Through grade inflation we re able
to understand problems often forgotten about and looked over. In the past colleges like Princeton and
Wellesley have tried to adopt policies to help curb grade inflation. Even though it lowered the
percentages of high grades, effectively lowering the amount of grade inflation, it came with the cost of
unforeseen consequences that affected the students and staff. In his article Rojstaczer describes the
policy that Princeton tried to adopt in which they ...limit[ed]ing A s on average to 35 percent of
students in a class. ( grade inflation gone wild , 75). This policy is extremely unfair on the students,
telling them that only a small percent of them will actually be able to get and A no matter how hard
they work. It is putting a limit on the students education and ruining their motivation to keep their
grades up if they know that there is a high percent chance that they won t make an A despite their hard
work. These attempts to fix the inflation has only in turn limited a student s education and potential,
causing greater issues. Since attempting to fight grade

Social Contract And The Civil Society
The social contract and the push for individuals to enter it rely on some conception of a state of nature.
Whilst the expected behaviour of persons in the state of nature differs among the social contract
theorists, the classical writings all share one common feature, a generalised potential for threat from
other persons (Dicus 2015, p. 105). However, the nature of this threat in the hypothetical state of
nature is not verifiable, as is the transition to civil society. The signing of the social contract is also not
literal, and none of the societies that the social contract theorists write from have entered into such an
agreement. The most comparable circumstance to agreeing to enter into a social contract is the period
of rebuilding society after revolution, but this relies on members of the society having the freedom to
remain an individual or join (Gough 1957). The killing of dissenting persons also suggests that
comparison is ineffective. Even so, social contract remains a popular justification of the state, albeit
declining in popularity since the 17th and 18th century, despite its hypothetical nature. Rawls attempts
to justify it by arguing that the demands of the hypothetical contract with equal and frees individuals
are the closest theorists can come to being a voluntary scheme of obedience to the law (Simmons
1999). On the other hand, William Paley (cited in Gough 1957, p.197) argues that a non factual
contract cannot be used as a foundation for any theory and

Descriptive Narrative Essay
It s hard to explain, the feelings and thoughts I had that day. Immense joy, and yet towering fear. So
many words come to mind, looking back on it now. I felt alienated, yet accepted. I felt accepted, with
the other women standing by me. I felt alienated by the immense amount of mens eyes on us. A
penetrating stare, as though we didn t belong. Anxious, yet eager. It s nerve wracking being the first,
being a leader. But I knew this was my place. Superior, yet inferior. Superior, with that crisp uniform
upon my body. Inferior, the mens eyes. June 28, 1976. The bus moves along, ascending into the
mountains of colorado springs. Every bump makes my stomach tie into a knot even tighter than
before. There is chatter, the sound of what we are. Teenage girls. I drift from the talk and find myself
thinking back to what my father said so me so long before this day. They will rip you of all of your
rights and hand them back to you one by one. I am prepared for it. I know that I am strong enough for
the future coming my way. The Air Force Academy is my future. A particularly jostling bump brings
my back into my seat. I join into the conversations as the bus continues its constant low hum and
swaying motion. The girl across the aisle from me turns to me, Nervous, much? Taken aback, I ask her
what she means. Your face, it looks a bit uh uneasy. Yeah, a little bit, I guess. And you aren t? I never
said that I wasn t. She answered, a look of knowing seemed to shine in her

  • 3. Too Much Power In George Orwell s 1984 There are some aspects that I think are most important to the book that connects to our everyday lives. Power is the controlling of someone s actions by the government. Freedom is being able to do what you want, how you want to do it. Privacy is having the ability to not have someone look through your stuff without someone asking. These aspects connected more with the world because people are going through difficulties with these things. Orwell s 1984 is relevant in the year 2016 because The United States government and the Oceania government are similar in their use of freedom, restricted power, and privacy for the citizens. The Oceanian government and the United States government use power to have control over what people say, do and think. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The only recognized purpose of the marriage was to beget children for the service of the Party (Orwell 65). This explains that the only way for them to get married to one another is of they go to the government and the government has to approve of it. This shows that the government has power of their relationships. If the government don t like the relationship, then those people can t be together. They had to have a purpose for getting married and the only real purpose was the children they would make. The gay marriage paradox: Begging the government for a license to marry isn t freedom; it s enslavement to Big Brother (Adams). On June 26, 2015, the United States of America legalized gay marriage. You shouldn t have to knock on the door for you to get freedom. Based on John Locke s idea, people should be inherited with natural rights and by restricting gay marriage limits those rights. This shows that American and English societies are based on the same thing. The government treats everybody the same when it comes to certain things. When the government did this, they had the power to say who can marry who and what can marry what. It s enslavement to Big ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Northern Pacific Rattlesnakes (Crotalus oreganus) use thermal and structural cues to choose overwintering hibernacula Hope Lindsey Jordan Biology 4080/4081 Professor Burton April 11, 2017 ABSTRACT Hibernaculum are places where creatures seek refuge and most hibernacula and summer dens are found beside old fallen logs (73%)(. Hibernacula and Summer Den Sites of Pine Snakes (Pituophis melanoleucus) in the New Jersey Pine Barrens). Snakes have hibernaculum, which are like dens and these dens can provide multiple benefits to snakes including shelter from lethal overwinter conditions, social opportunities, and contain basking sites, which important in thermoregulation (Gienger CM, Beck DD. 2011). It is hypothesized that snakes are capable of leaving pheromone trails for themselves or their offspring to locate hibernacula because the hibernacula keep them from freezing in the winter[cite conspecific trailing behavior of red sided garter snakes] To contrary belief, snakes are not solitary animals when it comes to hibernacula.Snakes are often highly selective in the choice of sites for hibernation, and suitable sites can potentially be a limiting resource(.Pine Snake (Pituophis Ruthveni and Pituophis Melanoleucus Lodingi) Hibernacula D. C. Rudolph, R. R. Schaefer, S. J. Burgdorf, M. Duran, and R. N. Given the benefits of hibernaculum, in the off chance snakes do not locate hibernacula is it more like for that snake to run the risk of not surviving. The high fidelity that snakes display towards specific hibernacula suggests that hibernacula have unique characteristics which allow them to be repeatedly relocated and features which may be critical in allowing overwinter survival (Burger et al. 1988; ... • 5. Analysis Of American Dance My favorite dance was the contemporary routine with Derek, Jaja, and Alexia. The choreographer, Stacey Tookey, explained that the piece was about bravery in different forms: Derek played a veteran, Jaja was portraying a woman leaving an abusive relationship, and Alexia took on the role of a single mother. I really enjoyed the dance because of the story it was trying to convey; each dancer dove into character and brought out complex emotions through their movements. The dancers connected deeply with each of their stories, even though they were completely different people. They were portraying things that they had never personally experienced in their lives before. They showed the strengths of the characters along with their weaknesses, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I believe that the routine was not well put together. A necessary component in the piece was an overly cocky, in your face attitude. The piece was set to Whuteva by Remy Ma, which reflects this attitude. The dancers however, did not deliver. They weren t exuding the confidence that the piece demanded from them and because of this, the music overshadowed the performers. I also disliked this piece because of the costumes. Keeping in mind that this piece was supposed to have a loud, aggressive vibe to it, the costumes did not really portray that for me. Instead, they were sloppy and distracting. They also got in the way of some of the steps, such as when the dancers had to put their arms up in the air; their hoodies were flying all over the place. At some points in the piece, some of the dancers visibly push up their sleeves or adjust their clothing. The costumes did not elevate the performance, they were a poor choice and detracted from the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. Analysis Of Cormac Mccarthy s Suttree Essay Throughout Cormac McCarthy s Suttree, the title character is constantly evolving throughout adulthood. We first meet Suttree while he is in prison, a place where he has major conflicts with his inner self. By the end of his journey, Suttree is more unified and has found inner peace. Carl Jung is an analytical psychologist who has many theories based on the human unconscious. Jung s premier psychological theory of archetypes where every person falls into different archetypes help to identify Suttree. Suttree falls into three different archetypes: the seeker archetype, the innocent archetype, and by the end of the novel the self archetype. Most of these characteristics are seen through his decisions while interacting with others, but his time spent alone also helps to prove that Suttree has these archetypes more than any others. Also, since he shows to be these three archetypes, it is easier to sympathize with Suttree, instead of declaring him as a solipsistic being. Another one of Carl Jung s most popular psychological theories is the belief of multiple layers of consciousness. His most popularized belief is the idea of the collective unconscious. In Suttree, the collective unconsciousness is represented through the descriptions of the Reese family. The collective unconscious represents the primitive nature of humans, and the Reese family is McCarthy s way of showing his feelings towards the collective mind. She develops a relationship between the characters and the setting which further reveal her central themes and conveys her idea. Bronte s work of art makes an attempt to argue that social class has the power to be a deciding factor in who one chooses to love. This is seen and conveyed through her characterization, the setting, and revealed through central themes. In Wuthering Heights complex characters are created to further emphasize how fatal attraction can lead to major conflicts. It is instantly recognized what the difference between the two settings is. Wuthering Heights is viewed in a darker light whereas Thrushcross Grange is bright and more inviting. After the incident Catherine is then ordered to stay at the Grange with the Linton s for a couple weeks. During this time, she transforms from a wild savage girl (Baba) into a lady. Heathcliff recalls Catherine s superb treatment at the Lintons, Afterwards, they dried and combed her beautiful hair, and gave her a pair of enormous slippers, and wheeled her to the fire; as merry as she could be (Bronte) Catherine s treatment contrasts the way Mr. Lockwood was greeted at Wuthering Heights. It is evident that the two manors are as different as the people in them. A transformation is made in Catherine s appearance and character when she marries Edgar and moves over to Grange where she experiences life being spoiled and pampered as she pleases. When she is welcomed back to the Heights Heathcliff greets her and in return is insulted when she laughs to find him dirty (55) Evidently, this supports that her transformation is not only physical but also spiritual for her comparison between them two. Also adding to the fact that the two manors are better understood as two different worlds. Even though Catherine grew up in Heathcliff s world, her move has caused her to change making their love impossible to pursue. Since then, she comes to spend more time with Edgar while cutting time to be with Heathcliff. Zoroastrian Scripture Zoroastrian scripture is called the Avesta and was passed down orally generation after generation by priests. As time passed, the language of the people changed in such a way that the meaning of the teachings of Zarathushtra became difficult to understand, perhaps not unlike old English has evolved into the modernized American version we used in the United States today. Because of this, the oral tradition of the Avesta became more of an explanation in more plain terms of the ancient script. (Skjaervo, 2005) There two different parts to the Avesta. The old Avesta contains the Gathas written by Zarathushtra which consists of 17 poems, or hymns, written for Ahura Mazda and are designed to encourage people to live their lives as directed by God. The religious view of the Gathas in the world is that we live in as a theater of conflict between two diametrically opposed moral spirits (mainyus), they stand for mental attitudes in the psychological domain, and also opposing moral vectors in all of creation. They are the Spirit of Goodness (Spenta Mainyu), and the Spirit of Evil. (CAIS, 2006). • 29. Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban Dementors are among the foulest creatures that walk this earth. They infest the darkest, filthiest places, they glory in decay and despair, they drain peace, hope, and happiness out of the air around them. Even Muggles feel their presence, though they can t see them (Rowling 187). A major factor driving the action and theme of J.K. Rowling s third book, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, is the element of fear represented by the dementors upon the magical community and the terror felt when witches and wizards were threatened by the Dementor s horrific Kiss. In the scene (246 248) where Harry Potter and Professor Lupin are having a drink at the Three Broomsticks tavern, Harry decides to ask about the dementors and the Dementor s Kiss. This scene is important because it ties together all the previous information about the dementors, and emphasizes how negatively they epitomize the forces of evil in the magical community, in which Harry Potter and other witches and wizards live. Harry says to Professor Lupin What is under the dementor s hood? (Rowling 246), the professor s answer is both truthful and frightening. Professor Lupin mentions that the dementors are so evil that even the Muggle community fears their presence, but cannot see them or know what kind of creatures they really are, and therefore, the Muggle community is only aware of the strange cold feeling that makes them afraid of unseen entities. However, the wizarding community whose ability to use magic ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It s where we came from our first actions, as evidenced in infancy, are Dionysian; all needs of survival are expressed and met through emotional expression and reciprocation only and instinctively. It is for this reason as well that music, often the purest expression of emotion outside of a human her/himself, is a child s first non human connection and stimulus. • 32. Slumdog Millionaire Sociology Media plays a significant role in our society. It is all around us, from the music we listen to on the radio, the shows we watch on the television, to the articles that we read from the internet. Its main job is to entertain, inform and educate society about what is going on in the world. Without it, the world would be a dull place and people wouldn t know what is going on in the society. Listening to songs or watching movies can be both delightful and relaxing, but this entertainment could possibly have a negative effect; For instance, it could shift your behavior. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As a matter of fact, it can shape people s attitude in a positive way. Let s take Slumdog millionaire, directed by Danny Boyle, as an example. This movie is about Jamal, an 18 year old orphan from the slums of Mumbai and a former street child, who is a contestant on Who Wants to Be Millionaire and is one question away from the grand prize. But when the show breaks for the night, police arrest him on suspicion of cheating because of the impossibility of a simple Slumdog with very little education knowing all the answers. Desperate to prove his innocence, Jamal tells the story of his life in the slum where he and his brother grew up, of their adventures together on the road. Long story short, Jamal manage to answer the last question correctly and wins the grand prize. This movie shows that people should not judge others from their origins. I used to think that people from the slums were ignorant before watching this movie. It certainly change my perspective and the way I view people from the slums. Another thing that I learned from this movie is that if you have determination and perseverance to pursue your goals, you will eventually reach them. However, with the glorious invention of Netflix, people have been able to watch their favorite movies and television shows whenever they d like, at whatever pace they d like. Ever since Netflix was purchased in my household, I have been blessed with the opportunity to watch each season of Friends, The Office, Gossip Girl, and One Tree Hill. • 34. The Transition Between Classical And Romantic Styles Franz Joseph Haydn was a kind, simple man whose eyes beamed with benevolence (Dies), and he never forgot his humble origin. His string quartet known as The Lark embodies the Romantic and Neoclassical styles of its time and is a well represented example of the Apollonian Order aesthetic. He was an important aspect in the transition between the Classical and Romantic styles as well as an excellent model for the music of his time. Joseph Haydn was born March 31, 1732, in the marshy town of Rohrau, Lower Austria. Born as one of six surviving children of Maria and Mathias Haydn, he began his education in music at a young age and, upon maturity, began his work as a freelance musician. He quickly started to acquire aristocratic patronage, and in 1761 gained a music director (or Kappelmeister) position at the Esterháza Palace in Austria working for Prince Nicolaus I. His composition of the six string quartets comprising Opus 64 was completed in 1790 after nearly thirty years of experiment. Opus 64 was one of two sets of six string quartets commissioned by and written for Johann Tost, a violinist in Prince Nicolaus Esterhazy s orchestra. The quartets were said to be encouraged by the Prince s housekeeper, Maria Anna von Jerlischek (or Fräulein Nanette as referred to by Haydn in his letters to Maria Anna von Genzinger), who would later become Tost s wife. Now let get started with this chapter that talks about my childhood. Let us start with mom s story. When I first started school I was really excited. When I first arrived in the classroom, I didn t cry. I was really surprised when she said that. She told me that my little sister and I were the only children who didn t cry. One time I had baby powder and I accidentally spilled some powder. Some of the powder fell on my hand, so I blew it off. When I blew it off it created a big cloud of powder. It was cool to see a cloud of powder fly in the air so I poured all the powder in my hands and threw it in the air. It was like snow in the hot summer. Once finally arriving to the top from the trip that seemed to have taken so much longer then have thought, stretched before you is a sight so beautiful, it takes one s breath away. Analysis Of I Am A Farmer By Aika Yamashiro Aiko Yamashiro is a poet, English major, and the author of Values of Hawai i 2: Ancestral Roots, Oceanic Views which she published on May 10th, 2017. She compiled stories relating to the values of Hawaii, including the poem I am a Farmer by U ilani Hideko Kalawe O Kou Ola Ana Kokaua Pulama Arasato. Arasato writes I am a farmer in the first person perspective; You should stop and listen, the aina is trying to speak. Reinforces that Arasato is explaining a situation to everyone about the lands of Hawaii. Arasato s purpose in I am a Farmer is to illustrate events that influenced Hawai i land. From ancient Hawaiian times, during the time the Ali i ruled, to modern day Hawaii, the land in which generations were promised, slowly disappeared as hungry real estate people bought it up. Infuriating, feeling betrayed, and being voided of their land brings darkness to the farmers and the reason why Arasato creates this poem to explain the history of farmers suffering. I agree with Arasato s claim that the farming land was wrongfully taken and deserves to be given back to those who rightfully own them because Hawaii is a place of fertility and where farmers thrive to grow food for its people. It s been a heritage for generations and if people take care of the land, the land will surely provide back. Therefore, the poem I am a Farmer explains the history of farming in Hawaii by relating to the past, explaining the challenges faced, and what the future of farming can be if the ... But what s so wrong about grade inflation? When learning about this subject we also open the doors to learning about the multitude of other problems plaguing our educational system that could use our attention much more than grade inflation does. Through grade inflation we re able to understand problems often forgotten about and looked over. In the past colleges like Princeton and Wellesley have tried to adopt policies to help curb grade inflation. Even though it lowered the percentages of high grades, effectively lowering the amount of grade inflation, it came with the cost of unforeseen consequences that affected the students and staff. In his article Rojstaczer describes the policy that Princeton tried to adopt in which they ...limit[ed]ing A s on average to 35 percent of students in a class. ( grade inflation gone wild , 75). This policy is extremely unfair on the students, telling them that only a small percent of them will actually be able to get and A no matter how hard they work. It is putting a limit on the students education and ruining their motivation to keep their grades up if they know that there is a high percent chance that they won t make an A despite their hard work. • 43. Social Contract And The Civil Society The social contract and the push for individuals to enter it rely on some conception of a state of nature. Whilst the expected behaviour of persons in the state of nature differs among the social contract theorists, the classical writings all share one common feature, a generalised potential for threat from other persons (Dicus 2015, p. 105). However, the nature of this threat in the hypothetical state of nature is not verifiable, as is the transition to civil society. The signing of the social contract is also not literal, and none of the societies that the social contract theorists write from have entered into such an agreement. The most comparable circumstance to agreeing to enter into a social contract is the period of rebuilding society after revolution, but this relies on members of the society having the freedom to remain an individual or join (Gough 1957). The killing of dissenting persons also suggests that comparison is ineffective. Even so, social contract remains a popular justification of the state, albeit declining in popularity since the 17th and 18th century, despite its hypothetical nature. Rawls attempts to justify it by arguing that the demands of the hypothetical contract with equal and frees individuals are the closest theorists can come to being a voluntary scheme of obedience to the law (Simmons 1999). On the other hand, William Paley (cited in Gough 1957, p.197) argues that a non factual contract cannot be used as a foundation for any theory and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
