BLOG: ECONOMIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROS AND CONS OF NUCLEAR
POWERSTATION IN UK HARTLEPOOL
A nuclear debate on the fuel cycle to the key economic and environmental advantages and
disadvantages of nuclear power was held on the 3rd of March 2016 in Coventry University 212GED
oil gas students. My acting role as EdF Witness local employee from Sizewell Nuclear Power Station
was to stand in favor of Pro nuclear .
The debate was to discuss why the committee should agree to deploy a nuclear power station in
Heartlepool. Our main concern about the generation of energy by nuclear is the radioactive natural
waste, the worry about its health and safety. It frightens the public as it being looked as a mas
destruction or perhaps a nuclear weapons and this makes it hard for one to easily adopt to the benefit
of nuclear energy but just a few realize the changes it bring to our lives over fewer years.
Nuclear plant uses Uranium atoms238. These are split in a process called fission, which releases
energy that is used to make steam, and used to power a turbine to generate electricity. True the fuel is
very radioactive and the harm to health could be cancer and for military security it could be use as a
war weapon. (EDF Energy, 2016)
Another concern Dealing with, is the decommissioning of a nuclear plant and the challenges that are
likely to occur during the cleaning of the material waste such as air and water pollution which harms
the community, the devastating story, Fukushima

The Bicycle Thief is a deeply moving neo realist films of the 1940 s focused on the state of Italy in the
aftermath of WWII, which depicts one man s loss of faith and his struggle to maintain personal dignity
in poverty and bureaucratic indifference. The director use neorealism in this film to show the working
class life, set in the culture of poverty, and with the implicit message that in a better society wealth
would be more evenly distributed. The majority of the movie is focused around the bicycle. The main
character Antonio Ricci is having a hard time finding a job but all of that changes after he own a

4. Women During The World War
The 1950s is an era remembered for the Cold War, communism, and June Cleaver. Most historians, if
asked about this period, will mention the Red Scare and the fight to stop the pervasive reach of
communism in post war America. Most feminists will recall the iconic image of June Cleaver and the
detrimental effect this perfect housewife had on the women s movement after the massive employment
of women during the Second World War. Often forgotten and missing from the pages of history are the
millions of women who were ostracized and subjected to discrimination based upon their sexuality.
These women lost federal jobs, their military careers came to a halt, and, in some cases, were
blacklisted from applying for civilian jobs. Not only were these women forced to overcome gender
inequality in order to support themselves in the workforce, they were also ostracized by society and
endured unending discrimination from the government and police on the basis of their sexuality. In the
face of this tremendous cultural pressure these women carved their own communities and lives out on
the edges of the social order. The pervasive fear of homosexuals in the 1950s bred an era of anti gay
legislation that greatly contributed to the horrific discrimination against lesbians and the development
of a lesbian subculture. This fear, known as the Lavender Scare, led to a severe climate of oppression
for the emerging lesbian subculture following the Second World War. As a result of medical

5. Urban India vs. Rural India
Globalization has had an astonishing impact on the modern world. It has allowed nations to connect
with other nations through mediums such as the internet, fax machines, music and television.
Globalization has also encouraged companies to take advantage of the knowledge and talents of
people all over the world. Outsourcing has created thousands of job opportunities for developing
nations. The flow of income into developing countries has allowed people to increase their standard of
living (Friedman, 126 150).

For centuries artist along with society have placed an emphasis on meaning in a piece of art. Art has
always consisted of subject matters, motifs and other pre concieved ideas or thoughts about what one
should use as their focal point in a work of art. The very definition of art though, is an appealing or
attractive object created through any of the fine arts. Nowhere does it say that a work of art must have
a concentration point. Not until the advent of abstract expressionism was the idea of painting from the
unconscious, 1 brought into the art scene.

Pollock s influence upon my work runs strictly in the process itself. Being an athlete, action is the key
to a performance. Whether its throwing a ball or swinging a bat, the relationship in the physical nature
of Pollock s process holds many similarities to the physical aspect of a sport. This relationship is what
s so appealing to me. Other forms of art confine you to standing in front of an easle or sitting at a
desk. Pollock s process on the other hand, allowed him to freely move around the painting while
gracefully and sometimes rigorously applying his paint. Just like in sports, you have a general idea of
how you want to perform but you don t always have control over the results. Abstract expressionism
allows the creator the ability to have a general notion of what he or she wants to create but the final
product may come out altered from the original idea.
In my work the similarities to the works of Pollock run in the process itself. I worked from all angles
of the page, spattering ink from an inkwell. This allowed me to control the flow of the ink, along with
the placement of it upon the page. The differences in my piece are what it mainly possesses. Scale is
probably the most noticeable. Pollock worked on a much larger scale, usually nearing the ten feet
mark. Another big difference

8. The Truth About the Music Industry Essay
Music is universally known as an expression of emotion, rebellion against the man, a way of life, a
random collection of sounds, an annoying thing kids listen to, or even a vacation from everything, but
in reality music is free of all definition. The industry involved in buying, selling and recording of
music has grown so old, treacherous, and ignorant that it can not figure out the steps it needs to evolve
with the rapidly expanding music industry. Musicians and fans alike are screaming about the dire need
of some modern day innovation in the market. Sadly the monstrous corporations that dominate the
market have put a lid on the competitive edge, stopped the innovative changes any smaller companies
can make.

As a band we have done some research of studio time and what it costs to have a record published and
sold in stores. I understand that music is hard to make a living off of because its hard enough to just
pay for the things your band needs and that record labels lose a lot of money in trying to finance an
album that has such a high chance of failure. But major Record labels are creating a monopoly of the
music industry which limits the innovation and advancement other minor labels or musicians could
provide by taking away competition. The market is dominated by the Big Three (Sony, Warner Music
Group, and Universal Music Group) who continuously buy out competition and all have many smaller
companies who have front names to cover up the fact that they are owned by the larger corporation.
Ten years ago there were five major companies that controlled the market place, in the beginning of
2005 Sony and BMG, Bertelsmann Music Group, decided to form a 50/50 partnership that would
spread worldwide. Together they controlled a vast majority of American music and the only place in
the world that was not apart of this corporation was Japan because the business would be affected too
much. Then in 2008 BMG announced that they were not going to renew the contract because of falling
sales which would have been really bad for Sony financially, so they decided to buy BM s portion of
the company for 1.2 billion, which included all of BMG s record

9. Kim As A Presentation Of The Issue
CHAPTER 3: KIM AS A PRESENTATION OF THE ISSUE
Kim is as unique in Kipling s life and career as it is in English literature. It was first serialised in
America, in McClure s Magazine, December, 1900 to October 1901; in England, in Cassell s
Magazine, January to November 1901. Kipling s works aimed at a broad base for an audience, both
McClure s and Cassell s were known as late century publications which incorporated techniques of the
new journalism like muckraking, as well as sensationalism and pulp in the stories to attract larger
audiences. Both the magazines published the work digestibly as one chapter at a time.
Kim s first book edition by Doubleday, Page Co., New York, 1 October 1901, the first English edition,
by Macmillan and Co. Ltd., 17 October 1901. In 1998, Kim was ranked on No.78 on his list of the 100
best English language novels of the 20th century by the Modern Library.
Kim is considered as Kipling s masterpiece. The scenery behind the story of Kim is The Great Game,
the political conflict between Russia and Britain in Central Asia. It is set probably in the period 1893
98, after the Second Afghan war, which ended in 1881 but before the Third. The novel is interesting
for its description of representation of the people, culture, languages and different religions of India.
The book presents a vivid picture of India, its teeming population, religions and superstitions, and the
life of the bazaars and the roads .

10. The Movie The Brothers Grimm
Tangled does a really good job making sure they don t make Repunzel look weak and giving her a lot
of power, but they totally forget about the male of the story Flynn Ryder. The Brothers Grimm on the
other hand manage to have no masculine stereotypes for the prince but they make Repunzel look like a
helpless lamb.
In the original Brothers Grimm fairytale Repunzel just agrees to marry a total stranger and has no
second thoughts about such a plan. In Tangled she ties him up and hits him over the head with a frying
pan. When he tries to smoochz her she hits him again. These opposite reactions have to do with the
time period. If disney had come out with something with as bad of a message as the original Brothers
Grimm everyone would have been really upset at the poor influence it had on young woman. It would
have betrayed the out of date gender role that women are just waiting around to be acknowledged by
the male. Tangled also couldn t have gotten away with making Repunzel as, let s say naive, as in the
original. I mean seriously this girl is not smart. Since this is a bit of a bold claim here are some
damning examples, when you come, bring each time a silken rope and i will make a ladder, and when
it is quite ready I will get down by it and out of the tower you know what else works Repunzel? one

11. Dr Strangelove Analysis
The movie Dr. Strangelove is a comedic movie but the issius it brings to light were very serious at the
time and issues concerning nuclear war are still very present in our lives today. The cold war was a
scary time for the world people and it s speculated to be the closest humankind has ever come to
becoming obsolete. There was lots of fear and suspension expression in the movie and that was similar
to how it was in real life during the cold war. Although there are some ridiculous aspects of the film
Dr. Strangelove it underlines something that could have happened extremely easily during this time. In
Dr. Strangelove the world is at the brink of becoming completely decimated by the USSR s and the
United states nuclear arsenals. When watching the movie you may find some parts of it ridiculous but
most of the movie is accurate to what was going on in our military and government at this time just
made more dramatic. At this time the lives of millions were in the hands of just a few men high up in
the military and government. Any wrong action or statement by them could end up starting a nuclear
war. It s not crazy to think that one rouge commander under all the stress and suspicion going on from
the red scare would order an attack on the USSR during this time. There was a lot of conspiracies
going around about communist schemes to infect the united states such as the one that putting fluoride
in the water was a way the communists were attacking the USA. With conspiracies

For the assignment, attend a cultural event, I choose to visit a mosque. I have been extremely intrigued
by the Arabic cultures. However, I have never spoken to a Muslim woman. Therefore, I was very
exited to visit a mosque and to attend a meeting with females who are giving a lecture about; the
woman and their Hijab. The woman who gave the tour of the mosque was a Sunni Muslim. What is
the larger culture within the Islam. The Muslim religion was very negatively in the media the last
years, and a lot of people bias and stereotype in seconds when they see a Muslim woman wearing a

The mosque I visited was the one closest to ASU, in 1960 the first Muslims started to go to college

prayers. The facility did grow rapidly and in 1984. They build the mosque. The building is a copy of
the dome of the rock in Jerusalem, and the community is self sustaining. 2500 people from every
continent visit the mosque regularly.
A Muslim has to pray five times a day, the first one when the sun during sunset and the last prayer is
during sunrise. If they feel the need, they can do extra prayers. The average prayer takes about 10
minutes, and is in Arabic. The prayer is the connection to God; you can also compare it with

Lord of the Flies Red Tape All this I meant to say. Now I ve said it. You voted me for chief. Now you

had no adults, rules, or order they decided to recreate a similar society they were living in by
appointing Ralph leader simply because he was the one who blew the conch and was the most
handsome out of all of them. Later we see how the democracy they chose to mimic doesn t quite work

that the boys, as young as they are and the innocence we associate them with, know more than we give
them credit for. After figuring out they were on an island that had no adults in sight the boys decided,
just like in the society they live in, without teamwork and cooperation staying alive might not be

materials. The first pig builds his house with straw; the second builds his house sticks and the third
with bricks. A wolf comes along seeking to blow down the pig s houses and eat them. Subsequently,
pig one and two are eaten, but the wolf is unsuccessful in blowing the third pig s house down. He
attempts to lure the pig out of his house to three locations: Mr. Smith s field, Merry Garden, and
Shanklin. However, the pig is clever and leaves an hour earlier than the wolf. After the third time of
being outsmarted the wolf becomes angry and climbs down the pig s chimney. Again, the pig is clever
so he places a boiling pot of water under the chimney that the wolf falls into. In the end, the pig eats

Going back to the issue, is it right to abolish pork barrel? Following are some of the arguments
presented that support the abolition of PDAF. Legislators concede that the PDAF is corruptible and

the transaction between the President who is dominant in budget making and implementation and the
congress in general legislation by using the PDAF to meet both party s needs. Also, in the districts
themselves, the PDAF is political. Congressmen have become the charitable beacons to their
followers, in spite of the legitimate needs of others. The worst manifestation of this is when personal

Jealousy is the central theme in the play Othello by William Shakespeare. It is the most famous
literary work that focuses on the dangers of jealousy. The play is a study of how jealousy can ruin
lives even with only the most circumstantial evidence of guilt. The play opens in Venice and revolves
mainly around a man called Othello. It s his actions and thoughts which makes the play interesting and
suspenseful. Themes such as love, jealousy, betrayal, honesty and vengeance are all important and

we will realise that jealousy is ultimately the most important theme of them all. It is the fundamental

His lack of experience brought upon his ruin. Jealousy is described throughout the play as a monstrous
emotion or more specifically, a green eyed monster . This becomes increasingly more destructive and
intense. However, it s at the end of the play that Othello commits extreme actions because his jealousy
has caused him to believe everything is true. Jealousy here is harnessed as a weapon, a weapon made
so lethal because its victim ultimately destroys himself and others around him. It is interesting that
Iago uses jealousy against Othello, as jealousy is likely the source of Iago s hatred in the first place. In
Othello, jealousy takes many forms, from sexual suspicion to professional competition, but it is, in all
cases, destructive. However, this jealousy was not originally prominent Othello, but was rather
developed through Iago s numerous plans of destruction, which is understood through Othello s
change in personality and actions taken.
By studying the text Othello by William Shakespeare, we are able to understand that jealousy is a
powerful emotion, one that can destroy relationships, and consume the mind. Whether sexual or
platonic, once the seed of jealousy is planted it can lead to devastating consequences, as seen in the
play. Jealousy can easily turn into anger, and overwhelm it s victim making them obsessed with the
notion. In the play Othello, many of the characters fall victim to

22. The Road Not Taken Psychoanalytic Approach
Now, as I said previously, I ll analyze Frost s poem The Road Not Taken through the psychoanalytical
approach. Robert Frost is known as one of the most powerful and passionate poets. He uses
philosophy and psychology throughout his poems and most of his poems were derived from his
personal experiences. As I have read from various sources; Frost wrote this poem to gently mock his
friend whose name was Edward Thomas and his indecisions he has shown on their many walks
together. These (which deeply roots in the poem) road walks has influenced his work, as the poem
consists choice of roads (directions we take as individuals) and makes us wonder why and how we
choose and when we do not choose, why we did not, what was the reason that prevented ... Show

But is it essential to point out that the author does not point out that this event is of any great
significance. Every day we are faced with simple diverging of roads in our lives and we make a
choice, whether it is which road to take to work or what to prioritize in our daily lives. The author is
stuck in the sense of choosing a path. Most of us make the best choice we are capable of and move on.
In the poem, the leaves are changing their colour and this deep down means that life dies. The first
stanza exposes the truth of decision which the poet is making is a difficult one. In the continuation of
the poem, the poet says grassy and wanted wear . Grassy means plain green grass, and here we can
smell in literary way that there is a breath of life. When we compare yellow and green, we can notice a
big difference. Therefore, the imaginary of the poem tells how the decision impacts his life. Also, I
would like to say that when we make decisions, we make them consciously, because as we know, we
don t want to make a mistake and take the wrong path, just as we mentioned the term consciousness is
introduced by Sigmund Freud. In the second stanza, the poet has chosen the road which was less
traveled and he realized that the both roads were the same. Next, the poet describes the road that he
has taken and how he wishes to travel

Road to El Dorado
The movie I watched was the Road to El Dorado. The directors of this movie are Eric Bibo Bergeron,
Don Paul, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Will Finn, and David Silverman. The top three actors of this film are
Kevin Kline as Tulio, Kenneth Branagh as Miguel, and Rosie Perez who plays the voice of Chel. Road
to El Dorado was produced in 2000 by Dreamworks Animation. It includes subtitles and is in color.
The movie is also now available to watch on Netflix which is where I watched it. Two con artist Tulio
and Miguel leave Spain as stowaways on Cortes s ship in 1519 that is headed to Mexico with a special
map. The map is supposed to lead to a city of gold, but when they reach the city things aren t what
they expect. While the two convince the people that they are gods they meet a girl name Chel who
knows their true identity and helps with with their con for a share of their gold. However, Chel
becomes more than an accomplice to Tulio, and Miguel is, you know, Miguel. Then things start to get
messy when Tzekel Kan tries to expose who the are to the people of El Dorado. As the men try to stop
him by impressing the crowd they also ask if the people can build them a boat home. Things work out

Instead of going to the march, the mother sends her innocent child to church instead thinking that she
would be safer there than in Birmingham. What are the odds that her daughter died in church and not
at the march? Nothing bad could happen, right? The single most key element that shapes the entire
meaning on the poem is the irony in the situation that actually took place in 1963. Though she begged
but, mother, I won t be alone, / other children will go with me (Randall 9 10), the girl s mother would
not allow her child to be put in the face of danger. The freedom marches were anything but pleasant

In this particular experiment, level 10 indicates a scrawny male whilst 100 represent an extremely

inverted body orientation, which were randomly presented throughout the experiment.
Results
A dependent t test was conducted to measure the JND, and PSE for the different body orientations.
Three outliers were eliminated from the experiment to maintain reliability since these participants
were recognised for randomly selecting z or m without accurately identifying whether the body was
indeed muscular or scrawny. Therefore, the analysis was performed on the remaining participants.
The JND (M =21.44, SD = 13.05), in the inverted condition was greater compared to the upright
condition (M= 19.18, SD = 11.46) refer to table 1. However, the PSE in the inverted condition was
