The Never-Ending Financial Crisis of 2008
Since it began in 2008, the US has faced what is being called the great recession. It is 2013, and it is
clear apparent that it is a recession longing to be cured. Through the works of Putnam, Sum et. al.,
Wisman, and Colander, we can better understand this crisis and look for the best way to get out of it.
To begin, Robert Putnam describes what has occurred in the U.S. over the past several decades. He
states that over the past several decades the U.S. has been subject to [an] economic and cultural
[entanglement] a mixture of government, private sector, community and personal failings (Putnam
2013, III).
Putnam believes that this financial crisis occurred as a result of layoffs, and many closings of
businesses (Putnam 2013, 2).
We can further this understanding by turning to Sum, et. al., who believed that the crisis occurred due
to the blue collar workers who have lost their jobs, and might never see those jobs again (Sum, et. al.
2010, 6).
Our next economist to turn to is John D. Wisman. In his article he describes what he believes to be the
cause of the crisis. He states that this recession occurred centered upon inadequate regulation
stemming from laissez faire ideology, and low interest rates (Wisman 2013, 921). He further points
out that an underlying effect of wage stagnation and dramatically increasing inequality in the US over
the past 35 years may also be a cause.
Now to the guy who wrote our current textbook, Macroeconomics 9th Edition, who

Differences Between The Bodhisattva In The Davis Museum
Another more obvious difference between the Bodhisattva in the Davis Museum is the coloring of
each. Unfortunately, time has worn away most of the paint on these heads, but the left Bodhisattva
shows more remnants of the original painting, including a small wavy mustache. Red paint can still be
seen in the headdress, the urna and the lines of the neck. Both heads have dark paint outlining the
eyebrows and the eyes, offering the viewer a look into Gandharan culture. One can see the hair was
once painted black based on the left Bodhisattva s hair which still contains some of the dark pigment.
While most of the paint has worn away, the naturalistic sculpting style allows the life of the
Bodhisattvas to remain intact without the added color. The sculptures appear dynamic due to the use
of lines and shadows in order to further one s sense of naturalism. The eye sockets are set deep into
each head which causes a shadow to fall over the eyes due to the brow ... Show more content on

The stucco heads are examples of the novel art that was formed when art from different countries was
allowed to influence each other. This is visibly illustrated by the Davis Museum placing the
Gandharan heads between the South Asian and Mediterranean exhibits, symbolizing the mixing of the
various art forms. While the informational cards about the Bodhisattvas are helpful tools, they must be
taken with a grain of salt. Whatever is printed on the informational cards must be questioned and
analyzed instead of believed to be the truth. The museum controls the informational cards and thus,
controls the narrative that the audience will learn about each piece. Nonetheless, it is critical to be
curious about the circumstances surrounding museums and their collections so in the future, such
questionable practices won t be tolerated and important cultural pieces will no longer be taken from
their origin

As “Jean Piaget” Once Said, “Knowledge Arises Neither From
As Jean Piaget once said, Knowledge arises neither from objects nor child, but from interactions
between the child and those objects. (EDUC 16800, Professor Steve Sellarajah,PowerPoint, 2017). To
acquire this knowledge and to learn, children play. In this fast pacing world we are so inclined to teach
our children different concepts that we seem to forget that children learn from their play and its is also
their basic right. The importance of play can be evaluated on the basis that Article 31 of the UN
convention on the rights of the child stated that Every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage
in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child. ( Dietze Kashin, 2012, Pg. 6 ). As

When they reach the school age they are usually more engaged in cooperative play and play with
rules. As their world of fantasy expands by playing with other children they quickly learn that they
belong in a group which is an important step for their wellbeing. School going children with their set
rules expresses a message that they are aware of the consequences of breaking or implementing rules
which reflect their cognitive development. By allowing children, a choice to decide their activities and
playing partners we are teaching them the strategies to build relationships not only in child care
settings, but in a society later in their lives.Furthermore, they also learn if they can or cannot use
familiar materials in different ways, For example, in our in class workshop we randomly selected
straws and connectors and animal characters. We had a choice to select anything.(intrinsic motivation)
This opportunity made us to think what kind of materials we wanted to play with, without any adult
interfering (exploration) not only we were motivated as we wanted to make something, but once we
gathered our material we were engaged in a discussion about how to make a building out of it.(social
interaction) Everyone in our group were proposing different ideas, but finally we decided to make a
zoo.(intellectual development). During play a conflict arose between two players regarding sharing the
straws and they

Volunteer Marking Essay
Volunteer Marking and Recording the names of Veterans at the Independence Cemetary For one of my
friends Eagle project, we went around the cemetary and recorded all the information given about
veterans. These records would be put down online so that anyone serching for a specific person could
find where they are buried. It was actually a fun job, we got to see all the awards given to some of
these vets and compare them. It was interesting to see just how much some people had done to serve
our country. I both helped decipher eroded gravestones and and took pictures of what we were doing.
This experience allowed me to gain a deeper understanding and respect for those who have served. 4

S Vs Std s Case Study
Section one:
STD s vs. STI s
Sexually Transmitted Infection:
When someone is infected with a sexually transmitted infection signs and symptoms of the illness will
go unnoticed until the infection develops into a disease. A person must get tested in order to conclude
if they have been infected. STI s occur when a bacteria or a virus has infected the inside of a person s
body. Depending on what virus or bacteria the person has been infected with will determine the
different type of symptoms that will develop in the future.
Sexually Transmitted Disease:
As oppose to sexually transmitted infections at this stage the infection has developed into a disease.

How do STD s Spread?
Sexual contact:
These diseases can spread to people who engage in sexual activities with partners of the same sex or
the opposite sex. People can be infected if they participate in sexual intercourse, anal sex or oral
genital sex with another person.
Other routes of transmission:
Other disease such as HIV, gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis and genital herpes can be transferred to a
baby while the mother is pregnant or while giving birth. If the mother has HIV she risks spreading it
to the baby through breastfeeding. Sharing contaminated needles with others also puts people at risk
of becoming infected with HIV. Another form of becoming infected could be through a blood
transfusion if it s not done safely. Sexually transmitted diseases such as genital herpes, syphilis and
chancroid create sores on the skin thus increasing the chances of spreading it to others if the sores
come into contact with another person s skin. Treating the sores can lower the risk of spreading HIV to
others that later can develop into

Exploring Relationships In The Film Tomboy
There are many relationships formed in our lives. In the movie Tomboy the parents have a healthy
loving relationship with each other as well as with their children. Though the parents have good
relationships with their kids it seems though as they might not be as in tune with the kids as they just
moved, they have a baby on the way and the dad is working often. Both parents seem to be supportive
of the tomboyish ways of their eldest daughter, but the mother wants her daughter to display more
defined female behaviors such as showing positive regard towards Laure making a female friend and
wearing make up. The dad picks up that something is upsetting Laure when he notices her sucking her
thumb, but doesn t delve into it. Laure s mother slaps her when she finds out she was pretending to be
a boy and drug her younger sister into her deceptive ways. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The Ira s Failure Of The Irish Civil War
While the War of Independence was the first time Ireland would be separated from England in over
100 years, Ireland and England have had a parallel history for far longer than that. Since the Act for
the Union of Great Britain and Ireland passed in the parliaments of both England and Ireland in 1800,
Ireland has been considered a legal part of the United Kingdom. Prior to this unification by law,
Ireland had been under some sort of British control since the feudal rule under the King of Britain
started in 1177. Feudal rule was brought to a close by proclamation of Henry VIII, in which he
became King of Ireland. The Irish rebellion of 1641 brought a slight bump to this rule, but the re
conquest of Ireland by Parliamentary forces led by Oliver ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unlike in the War of Independence the IRA did not have the backing of many Irish Americans.
Probably the major problem with finding backing amongst their former allies was the fact that they all
almost universally welcomed the signing of the Treat. Even Irish strongholds like the city of Boston
were pro treaty, with one James Phelan telegramming the Lord Mayor of Dublin that he loved the
treaty saying he expressed the feeling(s) of all true friends of Ireland and England the world over .
Even the Catholic church in America refused to help the IRA. Former allies in Scotland were also of
little help as most were loyal to Joseph Vize, who was a member of President Collins inner circle.
With their assets in the United States frozen by Congress, the IRA had little chance of securing enough
money to buy firearms. In addition to this the lack of support of the Irish in the United States meant
that they would be unable to receive any substantial sum of money nor be able to secure weapons
shipments. Additionally, unlike in the previous war they were unable to obtain arms and explosives
from sympathizers in Scotland in large part thanks to Collin s influence over this area. The IRA
repeated a mistake they made during the earliest inkling of revolution, as in the Easter Rebellion they
were reliant on outside forces acting on their

Core Concepts Of Euroscepticism
RESULTS
WHAT IS EUROSCEPTICISM?
According to Leconte (2010):
Euroscepticism is a rather recent term. [...] However, some of the core concepts of Eurosceptic
discourse already existed, such as Eurocrat a term which appeared in French dictionaries in the mid
1960s (during the Gaulle era) and which conveys the idea of a gap between European elites and the
average citizen. (p.3).
Later on, Leconte (2010) mentions that the first link to the word Euroscepticism was mentioned in a
specific context in a British public debate on the European Community in the mid 1980 s. It indicated
to the anti marketeers , who consisted most of the Labour party and an outer edge of the
Conservatives. Then, it got more popular when Margaret Thatcher told her Bruges speech in 1988.
The word became more or a catch all term for any objection or struggle towards the EU. Another view
on this term is that it varies over time, and changes in correspondence with the rate of successfulness
of the EU. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is not an ideology: it does not express a single, stable set of ideas, putting forward a comprehensive
worldview. (p.4)
But, Euroscepticism does not particularly mean being hostile in relation to European Integration.
Nonetheless, in contemporary politics, it has become to be associated with distinctive forms of
resistance to European Integration. (Leconte, 2012, p.5)
The term Euroscepticism is often being used as a term for all criticism on Europe. But, to be clear, the
use of Euroscepticism in this context will only mean the opposition against the EU. (Vollaard,

Essay on Pro-Choice Abortion
Abortion Abortion is one of the most personal, widely discussed, and controversial topics in American
culture today. In most cases, people on both sides of the argument take worthy and moral positions.
Who can blame someone who wishes to prevent the termination of a teen pregnancy to save the life of
an unborn child? On the other hand, who can blame anyone who advocates the soon to be mother s
right to make such a personal, heartbreaking choice? No matter what she chooses to do, should anyone
have the legal right to force her to bear an unwanted child? Most people in the US are pro choice, and
believe that abortion should be a legal, confidential decision that only a woman can make for herself.
However, some are against the idea of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A large number of women have suffered from the detrimental effects of unsanitary operations, and
even attempts at the most dangerous form of abortion: self abortion. The Roe vs. Wade decision won
women the right to have an abortion. This legalization was a public health victory for women with its
preceding introduction of antibiotics and antiseptics for use in abortions. Roe vs. Wade is considered
today, to be an avant garde decision, exemplifying ?judicial activism?. One important topic debated by
many pro choice and pro lifers, is: at what point does a fetus become human? This is one of the
determining factors of the controversy surrounding abortion. Pro life activists claim that life begins at
conception, stressing the idea that a human embryo is self developing. And since it cannot become
anything other than human, it is a living human. Albeit a fetus may technically of human origin, it
does not have the ability to conduct a conscious thought. At that point, the biological qualities of an
embryo are equivalent to a sesame seed, or an egg. Can we really say that every time we eat an egg, it
is like eating an unborn child? According to pro lifers, yes, and they are technically correct. An egg is
a completely fertilized, undeveloped infant. Yet the average American eats them on a weekly basis.
How can that be justified by the pro life campaign? It cannot. For one to truly LOSE a life, one must
be aware he or she is alive. Thought and emotion are

DISTRIBUTED MANUFACTURING AND CAPACITY PLANNING
DEFINITION: It is a decentralized manufacturing practiced by an organization using a geographically

The historical development of nursing from ancient times to the present For everyone knows that

their ecology.
It is important to note that snakes have undergone adaptive measures since their origin. They have

The Connection Between Weather And Voter Habit
The connection between weather and voter habit has become a well established theme among media
outlets, political figures, and academics. However, until Brad T. Gomez, Thomas G. Hansford, and
George A. Krause s study, there was not substantial research to neither endorse nor refute this
embraced the concept. In The Republicans Should Pray for Rain: Weather, Turnout, and Voting in U.S.
Presidential Elections the authors sought to answer a two part research question. The first part of this
question asks: Is voter participation affected by precipitation (be it in the form of rain or snow)? The
second half addresses the influence weather has on a voter s ballot selection. In their study the
dependent variable is voter turnout and selection, which they choose to measure at a county level; the
independent variable is the amount of rain or snow on Election Day.
The causal theory maintains if there is a change in meteorological conditions from the average, then
voter turnout will increase or decline accordingly and the selection an individual will cast on the
ballot. The hypothesis, therefore, asserts that as the precipitation is greater than the average rain or
snowfall in a certain county, then voter turnout will decrease; this decrease in turnout benefits the
Republican Party, and they tend to rise in the popular vote. The study finds that their hypothesis and
the country s maxim are true; stating the relationship is not only statistically significant, but

Research Report On Elon Musk Cofounded Tesla Motors Essay
Elon Musk cofounded Tesla Motors, an American automaker, in 2003 and was among the first
investors of the firm initially investing 7 million dollars and later adding another 30 million United
States dollars (Rothaermrl, Zimmer, 2014 p.2). Tesla Motors designs and markets electric cars in the
United States. The main competitors of Tesla motors in the United States market are local firms
General Motors, Chrysler, and Ford. Other foreign motor vehicle manufacturers that have entered and
established themselves in the United States and compete with the local firms include are Toyota,
Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, and KIA from various Asiatic countries; and major European manufacturers
including Daimler, BMW, and Volkswagen and its subsidiaries Audi, and Porsche (Rothaermrl,
Zimmer, 2014 p.4). These foreign automobile manufacturing companies have over the years eaten into
the market share of local firms, which as at the end of 2012 stood below 30 percent because of the
quality, and fuel efficiency of these cars and other features.
The automobile market in the United States is currently not very attractive. Firstly, the number of
competing firms in the industry has gone up to more than eleven firms competing in an industry that
has high revenues volatility. Changes in customer tastes and preferences, changes in regulations,
increasing input costs, and other factors contribute to the increases in costs while at the same time

The Effect Of Temperature On Rate Of Enzyme Activity
Period 1
10/05/15
The Effect of Temperature on Rate of Enzyme Activity of Different Enzymes
Abstract/Purpose:
The main objective of this experiment was to determine how different factors, such as the type of
enzyme and the temperatures that each of the enzymes were exposed to, could affect the rate of
enzyme activity. In order to measure this, a potato enzyme and liver enzyme were placed in four
different temperatures for 24 hours. Each enzyme was then placed in a test tube with hydrogen
peroxide and the rate of enzyme activity was measured. The result was that the rate of enzyme activity
decreased as the temperature increased for the liver enzyme, but increased for the potato enzyme.
Introduction/Hypothesis:
An enzyme is usually a protein that works as a catalyst, which is anything that helps to speed up, or
catalyze, the chemical reaction (Bolster Moss, n.d.). To speed up a chemical reaction, enzymes lower
the activation energy, which is the initial energy required for a reaction to occur by applying heat.
However, enzymes are very substrate specific, only acting on specific reactants, which are the
substrates, and consequently, enzymes are selective in the chemical reactions that they catalyze. Since
an enzyme is a protein, each enzyme has a specific amino acid sequence, which determines its shape
and eventually, the reactions that it will catalyze. In this way, an enzyme supports the biological theme
that form fits function. Each substrate binds to the enzyme

Block Schedule
As a student who has participated in high school sports and taken multiple AP and honors level

the basketball team took up over three hours of my time six days every week. During school days, I
had to leave my fifth period early when I had games, taking away from my valuable learning time.
This forced me to try to learn the material that I had missed during the time I was participating in an
event that allowed me to represent my school district. This, accompanied by the homework of all my
classes, led to my loss of sleep. During my freshman year, I went to bed around 12 A.M. every night

According to a U.S. News report, the top two schools in California are Whitney High School and
Stockton Collegiate International Secondary School. When I looked over their schedules, I found that
both of these schools follow a block schedule and, while it may seem like a distant goal, these schools
represent the possible advancement of the LCHS district if given the opportunity to explore the block
schedule. Dr. Nesa Sasser of the Hearst Newspaper, recently wrote an article about the benefits and
downfalls of the block schedule. She wrote that, by starting a block period schedule, teachers will be
able to plan lessons more effectively, connect with their students on a deeper level, and there will be
better time management. During block periods, teachers become less limited in how they plan their
lesson. They are able to go in depth about concepts that are important and are given time to give
examples to further the students comprehension of these topics. Using these examples, teachers are
then able to see where the class is falling short, and reteach confusing lessons, allowing for a greater
understanding of the overall subject. By decreasing the amount of classes per day, students would then
be able to focus on the homework they are given for their next classes, reducing the amount of
homework they have to complete and the information that needs to be learned for that specific night.
Students will also be able to go to sleep earlier, increasing overall health and focus during class,

Short Story Of Cinderella
A small village in a town called Bingara, lived a very cruel couple Hazel and Paul. They lived in a
small house where it was always cold. They never wanted children but Hazel accidentally became
pregnant with twins and named them as Cinderella and Joseph. They always treated their kids badly
since they were born.
17 years later, when Bingara was hit by a tragic earthquake, they moved to a place called Hazelbrook.
It is a very beautiful place, nearby there was a Huge Kingdom with large garden surrounded it.
Cinderella and Joseph had always faced miserable lives every day as they were always starving from
food and constantly bitten by their parents. Cinderella was very pretty girl who was very kind to all
and Joseph was well behaved and very hardworking boy who was very much known to most of the
village people.
Just after a month, Cinderella started behaving very weird like, talking very rude to the people even
with her loving brother Joseph. She somehow started admiring herself as the most beautiful girl in the
whole universe. Later, she started abusing others about their beauty. Joseph was getting very worried
about Cinderella. He was completely confused about sudden change in her behaviour as she wasn t
like that before. Joseph thought to visit a doctor for Cinderella so, he was enquiring about the doctor
with the people in the village.
Joseph had a very good neighbour who helped him to find a doctor and also who can also identify the
main reason behind Cinderella s rude behaviour. The next day, when doctor was asking questions to
Cinderella. She was completely quiet and calm after a while she burst out of tears and said, Me and
my brother are very lonely without any support of our parents . After the check up, the doctor said to
her brother. She was hiding her deep pain in her heart, which has affected her brain to be in anger in
short interval of times as well as it maybe have caused because of the less interaction with her parents
and other people , Joseph said, Thank You Doctor and left. When they returned home from the
Hospital, Joseph spoken to Cinderella about how she is feeling right now she said, Brother am feeling
very good then before and am really very sorry for behaving very bad to you

Examples Of Greed In A Christmas Carol
In stave two of Charles Dickens novella, A Christmas Carol, the greedy and pessimistic Ebenezer
Scrooge meets the Ghost of Christmas Past and re experiences his Christmases both prior to becoming
a scrooge and at the onset of his pessimism and greed. Scrooge describes the Ghost of Christmas Past
in the phrase, that from the crown of its head there sprung a bright, clear jet of light, (Dickens 30) and
this light itself is the symbol of knowledge and truth from the spirits. Scrooge, after spending a whole
night with the Ghost of Christmas Past will be enlightened and shown the truth of what he has
become, for he does not truly remember what the joys of Christmas were prior to the development of
his greed. Hints of this enlightenment appear throughout the stave, however shines most clearly
through a moment that Scrooge shares with the Ghost when he says, Nothing...nothing. ... Show more

I should like to have given him something that is all. (Dickens 36) This passage truly marks the
beginning of the metamorphosis and transformation that Scrooge will undergo throughout the story,
which also happens to be the overall theme of Dickens novella. The Ghost of Christmas Past takes the
greedy Scrooge and forces him to experience the Christmases of his past; when he lived at school and
never saw a Christmas, when his sister Fan told him he was coming home for Christmas, and even the
party thrown by Fezziwig. Even at this party the light of the Ghost of Christmas Past as he comes to
realize that the boss of the workplace truly influences the mood and environment, and he even tells the
reader this when he says, It isn t that, Spirit. He [Fezziwig] has the power to render us happy or
unhappy; to make our service light or burdensome; a pleasure or a toil. Say that his power lies in
words and looks; in things so slight and insignificant that it is impossible to add and count em up:

Five Residential Plumbing Myths Debunked
There are a lot of misconceptions when it comes to plumbing. If you are a homeowner, you might be
unknowingly making huge mistakes based on these myths. Fortunately, by knowing what these
common myths are you can avoid future plumbing problems. Here are five of the biggest residential
plumbing myths debunked:
1. It s Completely Normal For Faucets To Drip
If you are like most people, you probably don t give much thought to a dripping faucet. You might
even think it s normal. However, a dripping faucet is a huge indicator that there is a serious problem
lurking in your plumbing system. Not only does dripping water cost you extra money on your water
bill, it can also affect your water pressure. So if you begin to notice that faucets around your home are
dripping, consult a professional plumber. An inspection can reveal ... Show more content on

Everything Is Fine If It Drains Quickly
Perhaps one of the most costly myths is that the drains are fine, as long as the water drains quickly.
While this does make sense, it s not true. Clogs are often caused by debris buildup that occurs over
time. So just because everything seems to be working fine, doesn t actually mean it is fine. This is
why you should always be proactive and have a plumber inspect and clean your plumbing system
regularly.
4. Ice Cubes Sharpen Garbage Disposal Blades
Another common misconception is that ice cubes sharpen garbage disposal blades. Unfortunately, this
isn t true at all. In fact, tossing ice cubes down your garbage disposal might actually dull the blades.
This is because ice is abrasive and tough on the blades.
5. A Plunger Will Solve The Clog
Finally, if you are like most people you probably believe that all you need is a plunger to remove
clogs. While a plunger certainly can be used, it s not always the best tool for the job. In some cases, a
plunger might not fix the problem at all. So always have a snake or an auger on hand, as these two
tools can also help remove clogs or buildup in the pipe

Stylistic Features Of Ode On The Spring
The English Lyric has long been regarded as magnificent and glorious. It has been said that the lyric of
the post sixteenth century releases an intense overflow of feelings and emotions. Every poet must be
an artist and requires wit and imagination in order to bring out an excellent piece of art. In the lyric,
the poet uses a rhythmical and an elaborate mode of speech and he must always be in control while
writing. The poet must communicate his feeling and each lyric has its own predestined structure. One
cannot separate the form from the meaning of the lyric. This is because the rhythm, stylistic features,
and other concepts play a crucial role in the meaning.
The Lyric was the dominant form of poetry in the seventeenth century. One can understand ... Show

However, there was still certain exceptional poets during this period who wrote lyrics such as Thomas
Gray and William Cowper. In the poem Ode On The Spring by Thomas Gray, the reader comes across
an elaborated view of spring and its beauties. It is shown that for Gray, spring brings fields imbued
with flowers and greenery: long expecting flowers . According to Gray, spring brings along
magnificent sunrises and also a beautiful and pleasing atmosphere. This can be seen through words
such as rosy bosomed hours and thro the clear blue sky . The words purple year are a reference to
Virgil s ver purpureum and Alexander Pope s lavish nature paints the purple year and through these
words, Thomas Gray wants to show the reader the power and brightness of spring through the poetic
conventions and style which are celebrating nature s beauty. The persona continues to emphasize the
shade and calmness that spring brings along with it: a broader browner shade . It seems that spring is
not appreciated by an excessive amount of people: how little are the Proud . Moreover, Gray expresses
that too few are able to understand the beauty of spring: How indigent the Great . The insects are
described as eager and also seem to be waiting to pollinate: taste the honied

City University of Seattle
Abstract
This paper shows cultural differences between Iranians, Chinese and Indians in business negotiations
based on interviews with three businessmen: an American citizen who set up a general trading
company in China, an Iranian Canadian citizen who has a trading company in Iran, and an Indian
America who set up a business in India. The interview questions focused on cultural elements based
on Hofstede s research: power distance, low high context, and general business behavior in these
countries.
Lessons Learned Report
Knowledge of other cultures is one of the keys to being successful in business dealings. This paper
reports on real experiences in cross cultural business interactions from three different perspectives. I
interviewed three successful businessmen, one who worked with Iranians, one with Chinese, and one
with Indians. I interviewed them independently, and my questions covered four different elements:
cultural behavior in business negotiations, management as symbol of high power distance in the
companies, knowledge of high context or low context culture, and finally knowledge of each of
culture to have better business negotiation in future.
An Iranian Canadian Citizen
My first Interview was with an Iranian Canadian citizen, Mr. P. Danesh, who has lived in Canada for
more than 35 years and who set up a trading company in the pharmaceutical industry in

Colonial Williamsburg
Alex Elstrodt Colonial Williamsburg Essay Colonial Williamsburg was a key city during colonial
times because Colonial Williamsburg had a great amount of important places in it. A book entry on
January 9, 1716 about the Bruton Parish Church Ordered that the men sit on the North side of the
church, and the women on the left. The Bruton Parish is the most important place in Williamsburg
because it acted as a storehouse and a hospital during the battle of Yorktown and none of the other
places has acted as a different place to help in an entirely different way than it normally does so it
deserves a commemorative coin minted for it. The Bruton Parish Church was an extremely important

important place in Colonial Williamsburg. It has lasted over 300 years! The Bruton Parish displays the
religious beliefs of the people who lived in the colonies. The Bruton Church is ultimately the most
significant place in Colonial Williamsburg today. The Bruton Parish Church connects with the motto
That the future may learn from the past the best. People learned about their religious beliefs in
colonial times. America learned that we should not have to go to church on every Sunday and
everyone can worship as they please. Consequently the Bruton Parish connects to the motto That the
future may learn from the past better than any other structure in Colonial Williamsburg In conclusion,
The Bruton Parish church is the most important structure in Colonial Williamsburg for numerous
reasons. It is the greatest in three groupings the importance during Colonial times, importance today,
and how it connects to the motto: That the future may learn from the past. The Bruton Parish has been
a working church for over 300 years and they have fixed errors from the past. This is why the Bruton

Criminal Justice Model
It is through the Criminal Justice System s close collaborations with like minded agencies such as the
Police, Prison and Courts Services, that the public s concerns and worries are resolved, in order to
bring about justice in our communities (Cavadino and Dignan, 2007 as cited in Fox, 2014). With that
in mind and out of the way, this essay will aim to explore some of the strengths and weaknesses,
which are prominent within the Criminal Justice System. To do this successfully, the Police and the
Courts Service will be the key agencies that will be explored in relation to the key Models that shape
the whole Criminal Justice System. These Models were founded by Herbert L. Packer (1968) and
Michael King (1981).
Firstly, an advantage of the Police ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This internal pressure that is placed upon the Courts is highlighted within the Bureaucratic Model,
which gives the impression that the employees of the Criminal justice do not have a straightforward
and easy job to do (King, 1981 as cited in Davies et al., 2005). As briefly mentioned above, efficiency
is the key factor affecting the effective functioning of the courts, the employees of the Criminal Justice
do not have the most impactful contribution to improve upon their own efficiency, but the defendants
do, because their decisions on accepting guilt or maintaining their innocence can mean the difference
between an appropriately shortened trial or more worryingly, a prolonged trial resulting in a guilty
verdict, in which this consumes excessive time and resources that could have otherwise been used
elsewhere(Davies et al., 2005) . From the above perspective, it is safe to say that the defendants have
the ability to ease some of the pressure that is put on the Courts Service, in order to allow them to
perform productively. According to (Sanders et al. 2010: ch.8 as cited in Sanders and Young, 2012:
860) 60 percent plead guilty in the Crown Court and 92 percent in the Magistrates Courts... From
these statistics, it is also acceptable to say that a fair amount of

Social Security Was Introduced Into Law By Democratic...
Social Security Social Security was introduced into law by Democratic President Franklin D.
Roosevelt. Social Security was a program which would provide financial protection to our most
elderly of citizens. The program over the course of time has evolved and added new branches of
protection such as child, survivor, and dependent benefits. Social Security was never created to be an
answer for a comprehensive retirement package for people retiring. However in our current society
with plastic cards and increasing debit to income limits, many people do not save for the future. Many
citizens live for today and expect the government to take care of them when they are old and cannot
fend for themselves. In 2011 the first wave of baby boomers began reaching retirement age and in turn
qualifies them to begin drawing from the Social Security System. The baby boom generation makes
up 25 percent of the total United States population (SSA, 2014). The projected number of people from
2011 to 2030 who will become eligible to receive Old Age benefits from the Social Security Act will
increase by 65 percent (SSA, 2014). This data is crucial in terms of determining the stability of a
system that relies on the paying masses to care for the elderly few. Many Presidents in the last two
decades have created and formed elaborate panels of specialized individuals to tackle the problem of
the long term sustainability of the Social Security System. In order to take care of our most elderly

Sports Drinks In Sports
Do sports drinks help improve performance of non professional athletes? I believe that they do not and
that drinking water would be more beneficial. During exercise, water is lost in the form of sweat, as a
way of helping to maintain a stable body temperature. Sweat losses vary from person to person and
can be affected by an individual s genetics, body size and level of fitness. Also most people are likely
to sweat more as it gets hotter and more humid, as well as with an increased level of activity. Sports
drinks have a lot of salt and sugar in them and could make the athlete consume more calories than they
are burning. Sports drinks are also sold to many children who would not be doing as much work as
their idols do and would be consuming too much sugar for their daily recommended needs of 20
grams. How much activity do you have to do to need to drink a sports drink for it to be beneficial for
your performance? I m using information conducted by Oxford University and the British Medical
Journal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4e85ZnVjmU Mensfitness

The Benefits Of Human Cloning
How would you like to have another you? No, not an identical twin but another person who is actually
100% you? Would the idea fill you with delight or horror?. As a genetic engineer as well as a senior
researcher at the University of Adelaide I am terrified from where the research of cloning human
would end up?. Human cloning also known as the creation of a genetically copy of a human, infect
cloning is the creation of an organism that has an exact genetic copy of another. Since the cloning of
Dolly the Sheep in 1997, research of human cloning has been on the edge of the seat. It brings many
benefits including, elimination of the birth defects, through manipulate the embryos gene to remove
the birth defect and provide them a healthier life. However, it will bring numerous disadvantages into
the world that over shadows its benefits including, everyone not being able to afford it due the
expense, individuality of the cloned person is destroyed and, creates a religious conflict.
Economic issues are potentially the main threat of human cloning arising as the research continues to
grow. The (National Human Genome Research Institute, 2016) estimates that about 40 50 million
dollars are spent each year around the world in the research of human cloning. While this money could
be used in the fighting the middle east, world hunger as well as other important things where the world
is still behind such as cancer research, millions of people are dying each year due to lack of

SPA Essay
Ajax can be used to develop SPA, but it has some issues with it: 1. Complexity: Execution in any SPA
requires DOM structure to be modified again and again asynchronously in an HTML view. Controller
is responsible for performing such asynchronous operations and as the application grows large,
controller itself becomes complex. The complexity is also increased as developers tries to add more
features to existing application. So, for any changes in the view would also require changes in
controller as well which increases complexity. 2. Debugging: Any DOM manipulations in the
controller are also dependent on events in any HTML view. There is tight coupling between view and
controller which can makes it hard to test and debug any application. ... Show more content on

It can also capture parameters passed in URI to be assigned to controller in use. The controller can
thus read the information from URI and make routing decisions accordingly. 4. Directives Directives
have the ability to add new functionalities to the existing DOM. AngularJS has many built in
directives such as ngApp, ngController, ngBind etc. These directives have their own functionalities in
the AngularJS application. Developers can also create their own directives to add new reusable
components. Benefits of SPA: 1. Better User Experience: As Single Page Applications (SPA) has
single page only and part of the web page is refreshed dynamically with minimum response time, SPA
offers better user experience to users. Unlike In traditional applications whole web page is reloaded
completely which is sometimes unnecessary and may even not feasible on slow network connections.
2. Compatibility: SPA can be easily deployed on other platforms such as mobile, Tablet or Desktop.
Developer can reuse the same piece of code for web version and mobile application also. 3. Easy
deployment and version control: Deployment in production server is very easy in case of SPA as there
are separate client and server logic. One can easily deploy at client part as only 3 files are typically
needed: a single page(.html), a CSS bundle, and a JavaScript bundle. Rollback to previous version is
also very easy in case of

  • 2. The Never-Ending Financial Crisis of 2008 Since it began in 2008, the US has faced what is being called the great recession. It is 2013, and it is clear apparent that it is a recession longing to be cured. Through the works of Putnam, Sum et. al., Wisman, and Colander, we can better understand this crisis and look for the best way to get out of it. To begin, Robert Putnam describes what has occurred in the U.S. over the past several decades. He states that over the past several decades the U.S. has been subject to [an] economic and cultural [entanglement] a mixture of government, private sector, community and personal failings (Putnam 2013, III). Putnam believes that this financial crisis occurred as a result of layoffs, and many closings of businesses (Putnam 2013, 2). We can further this understanding by turning to Sum, et. al., who believed that the crisis occurred due to the blue collar workers who have lost their jobs, and might never see those jobs again (Sum, et. al. 2010, 6). Our next economist to turn to is John D. Wisman. In his article he describes what he believes to be the cause of the crisis. He states that this recession occurred centered upon inadequate regulation stemming from laissez faire ideology, and low interest rates (Wisman 2013, 921). He further points out that an underlying effect of wage stagnation and dramatically increasing inequality in the US over the past 35 years may also be a cause. Now to the guy who wrote our current textbook, Macroeconomics 9th Edition, who ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Differences Between The Bodhisattva In The Davis Museum Another more obvious difference between the Bodhisattva in the Davis Museum is the coloring of each. Unfortunately, time has worn away most of the paint on these heads, but the left Bodhisattva shows more remnants of the original painting, including a small wavy mustache. Red paint can still be seen in the headdress, the urna and the lines of the neck. Both heads have dark paint outlining the eyebrows and the eyes, offering the viewer a look into Gandharan culture. One can see the hair was once painted black based on the left Bodhisattva s hair which still contains some of the dark pigment. While most of the paint has worn away, the naturalistic sculpting style allows the life of the Bodhisattvas to remain intact without the added color. The sculptures appear dynamic due to the use of lines and shadows in order to further one s sense of naturalism. The eye sockets are set deep into each head which causes a shadow to fall over the eyes due to the brow ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The stucco heads are examples of the novel art that was formed when art from different countries was allowed to influence each other. This is visibly illustrated by the Davis Museum placing the Gandharan heads between the South Asian and Mediterranean exhibits, symbolizing the mixing of the various art forms. While the informational cards about the Bodhisattvas are helpful tools, they must be taken with a grain of salt. Whatever is printed on the informational cards must be questioned and analyzed instead of believed to be the truth. The museum controls the informational cards and thus, controls the narrative that the audience will learn about each piece. Nonetheless, it is critical to be curious about the circumstances surrounding museums and their collections so in the future, such questionable practices won t be tolerated and important cultural pieces will no longer be taken from their origin ... (EDUC 16800, Professor Steve Sellarajah,PowerPoint, 2017). To acquire this knowledge and to learn, children play. In this fast pacing world we are so inclined to teach our children different concepts that we seem to forget that children learn from their play and its is also their basic right. The importance of play can be evaluated on the basis that Article 31 of the UN convention on the rights of the child stated that Every child has the right to rest and leisure, to engage in play and recreational activities appropriate to the age of the child. By allowing children, a choice to decide their activities and playing partners we are teaching them the strategies to build relationships not only in child care settings, but in a society later in their lives.Furthermore, they also learn if they can or cannot use familiar materials in different ways, For example, in our in class workshop we randomly selected straws and connectors and animal characters. We had a choice to select anything.(intrinsic motivation) This opportunity made us to think what kind of materials we wanted to play with, without any adult interfering (exploration) not only we were motivated as we wanted to make something, but once we gathered our material we were engaged in a discussion about how to make a building out of it.(social interaction) Everyone in our group were proposing different ideas, but finally we decided to make a zoo.(intellectual development). Volunteer Marking Essay Volunteer Marking and Recording the names of Veterans at the Independence Cemetary For one of my friends Eagle project, we went around the cemetary and recorded all the information given about veterans. These records would be put down online so that anyone serching for a specific person could find where they are buried. It was actually a fun job, we got to see all the awards given to some of these vets and compare them. It was interesting to see just how much some people had done to serve our country. S Vs Std s Case Study Section one: STD s vs. STI s Sexually Transmitted Infection: When someone is infected with a sexually transmitted infection signs and symptoms of the illness will go unnoticed until the infection develops into a disease. A person must get tested in order to conclude if they have been infected. STI s occur when a bacteria or a virus has infected the inside of a person s body. • 8. The Ira s Failure Of The Irish Civil War While the War of Independence was the first time Ireland would be separated from England in over 100 years, Ireland and England have had a parallel history for far longer than that. Since the Act for the Union of Great Britain and Ireland passed in the parliaments of both England and Ireland in 1800, Ireland has been considered a legal part of the United Kingdom. Prior to this unification by law, Ireland had been under some sort of British control since the feudal rule under the King of Britain started in 1177. Feudal rule was brought to a close by proclamation of Henry VIII, in which he became King of Ireland. The Irish rebellion of 1641 brought a slight bump to this rule, but the re conquest of Ireland by Parliamentary forces led by Oliver ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Unlike in the War of Independence the IRA did not have the backing of many Irish Americans. Probably the major problem with finding backing amongst their former allies was the fact that they all almost universally welcomed the signing of the Treat. Even Irish strongholds like the city of Boston were pro treaty, with one James Phelan telegramming the Lord Mayor of Dublin that he loved the treaty saying he expressed the feeling(s) of all true friends of Ireland and England the world over . Even the Catholic church in America refused to help the IRA. Former allies in Scotland were also of little help as most were loyal to Joseph Vize, who was a member of President Collins inner circle. With their assets in the United States frozen by Congress, the IRA had little chance of securing enough money to buy firearms. In addition to this the lack of support of the Irish in the United States meant that they would be unable to receive any substantial sum of money nor be able to secure weapons shipments. Additionally, unlike in the previous war they were unable to obtain arms and explosives from sympathizers in Scotland in large part thanks to Collin s influence over this area. [...] However, some of the core concepts of Eurosceptic discourse already existed, such as Eurocrat a term which appeared in French dictionaries in the mid 1960s (during the Gaulle era) and which conveys the idea of a gap between European elites and the average citizen. (p.3). Later on, Leconte (2010) mentions that the first link to the word Euroscepticism was mentioned in a specific context in a British public debate on the European Community in the mid 1980 s. It indicated to the anti marketeers , who consisted most of the Labour party and an outer edge of the Conservatives. Then, it got more popular when Margaret Thatcher told her Bruges speech in 1988. • 10. Essay on Pro-Choice Abortion Abortion Abortion is one of the most personal, widely discussed, and controversial topics in American culture today. In most cases, people on both sides of the argument take worthy and moral positions. Who can blame someone who wishes to prevent the termination of a teen pregnancy to save the life of an unborn child? On the other hand, who can blame anyone who advocates the soon to be mother s right to make such a personal, heartbreaking choice? No matter what she chooses to do, should anyone have the legal right to force her to bear an unwanted child? Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... A large number of women have suffered from the detrimental effects of unsanitary operations, and even attempts at the most dangerous form of abortion: self abortion. The Roe vs. Wade decision won women the right to have an abortion. This legalization was a public health victory for women with its preceding introduction of antibiotics and antiseptics for use in abortions. Roe vs. Wade is considered today, to be an avant garde decision, exemplifying ?judicial activism?. One important topic debated by many pro choice and pro lifers, is: at what point does a fetus become human? This is one of the determining factors of the controversy surrounding abortion. Pro life activists claim that life begins at conception, stressing the idea that a human embryo is self developing. And since it cannot become anything other than human, it is a living human. Albeit a fetus may technically of human origin, it does not have the ability to conduct a conscious thought. At that point, the biological qualities of an embryo are equivalent to a sesame seed, or an egg. Can we really say that every time we eat an egg, it is like eating an unborn child? According to pro lifers, yes, and they are technically correct. An egg is a completely fertilized, undeveloped infant. Yet the average American eats them on a weekly basis. How can that be justified by the pro life campaign? It cannot. For one to truly LOSE a life, one must be aware he or she is alive. Thought and emotion are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 15. The Connection Between Weather And Voter Habit The connection between weather and voter habit has become a well established theme among media outlets, political figures, and academics. However, until Brad T. Gomez, Thomas G. Hansford, and George A. Krause s study, there was not substantial research to neither endorse nor refute this embraced the concept. In The Republicans Should Pray for Rain: Weather, Turnout, and Voting in U.S. Presidential Elections the authors sought to answer a two part research question. The first part of this question asks: Is voter participation affected by precipitation (be it in the form of rain or snow)? The second half addresses the influence weather has on a voter s ballot selection. In their study the dependent variable is voter turnout and selection, which they choose to measure at a county level; the independent variable is the amount of rain or snow on Election Day. The causal theory maintains if there is a change in meteorological conditions from the average, then voter turnout will increase or decline accordingly and the selection an individual will cast on the ballot. The hypothesis, therefore, asserts that as the precipitation is greater than the average rain or snowfall in a certain county, then voter turnout will decrease; this decrease in turnout benefits the Republican Party, and they tend to rise in the popular vote. The study finds that their hypothesis and the country s maxim are true; stating the relationship is not only statistically significant, but sometimes ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The automobile market in the United States is currently not very attractive. Firstly, the number of competing firms in the industry has gone up to more than eleven firms competing in an industry that has high revenues volatility. The Effect Of Temperature On Rate Of Enzyme Activity Period 1 10/05/15 The Effect of Temperature on Rate of Enzyme Activity of Different Enzymes Abstract/Purpose: The main objective of this experiment was to determine how different factors, such as the type of enzyme and the temperatures that each of the enzymes were exposed to, could affect the rate of enzyme activity. In order to measure this, a potato enzyme and liver enzyme were placed in four different temperatures for 24 hours. Each enzyme was then placed in a test tube with hydrogen peroxide and the rate of enzyme activity was measured. The result was that the rate of enzyme activity decreased as the temperature increased for the liver enzyme, but increased for the potato enzyme. Introduction/Hypothesis: An enzyme is usually a protein that works as a catalyst, which is anything that helps to speed up, or catalyze, the chemical reaction (Bolster Moss, n.d.). To speed up a chemical reaction, enzymes lower the activation energy, which is the initial energy required for a reaction to occur by applying heat. However, enzymes are very substrate specific, only acting on specific reactants, which are the substrates, and consequently, enzymes are selective in the chemical reactions that they catalyze. Since an enzyme is a protein, each enzyme has a specific amino acid sequence, which determines its shape and eventually, the reactions that it will catalyze. In this way, an enzyme supports the biological theme that form fits function. Each substrate binds to the enzyme ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

According to a U.S. News report, the top two schools in California are Whitney High School and Stockton Collegiate International Secondary School. When I looked over their schedules, I found that both of these schools follow a block schedule and, while it may seem like a distant goal, these schools represent the possible advancement of the LCHS district if given the opportunity to explore the block schedule. Dr. Nesa Sasser of the Hearst Newspaper, recently wrote an article about the benefits and downfalls of the block schedule. She wrote that, by starting a block period schedule, teachers will be able to plan lessons more effectively, connect with their students on a deeper level, and there will be better time management. During block periods, teachers become less limited in how they plan their lesson. They are able to go in depth about concepts that are important and are given time to give examples to further the students comprehension of these topics. Using these examples, teachers are then able to see where the class is falling short, and reteach confusing lessons, allowing for a greater understanding of the overall subject. By decreasing the amount of classes per day, students would then be able to focus on the homework they are given for their next classes, reducing the amount of homework they have to complete and the information that needs to be learned for that specific night. Students will also be able to go to sleep earlier, increasing overall health and focus during class, providing long term ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Social Security was a program which would provide financial protection to our most elderly of citizens. The program over the course of time has evolved and added new branches of protection such as child, survivor, and dependent benefits. Social Security was never created to be an answer for a comprehensive retirement package for people retiring. However in our current society with plastic cards and increasing debit to income limits, many people do not save for the future. Many citizens live for today and expect the government to take care of them when they are old and cannot fend for themselves. In 2011 the first wave of baby boomers began reaching retirement age and in turn qualifies them to begin drawing from the Social Security System. The baby boom generation makes up 25 percent of the total United States population (SSA, 2014). The projected number of people from 2011 to 2030 who will become eligible to receive Old Age benefits from the Social Security Act will increase by 65 percent (SSA, 2014). Complexity: Execution in any SPA requires DOM structure to be modified again and again asynchronously in an HTML view. Controller is responsible for performing such asynchronous operations and as the application grows large, controller itself becomes complex. The complexity is also increased as developers tries to add more features to existing application. So, for any changes in the view would also require changes in controller as well which increases complexity. 2.
