Improving Public Speaking And Oral Communication Skills
In my research online on How to improve public speaking or oral communication skills I would like to
discuss the source I found on how to improve your public speaking with body language. We went over
this several times in class and it was in our test we took at the beginning of our course. Body language
is an important aspect of giving a speech, because you are not just speaking with your mouth when
you present. You use body language to communicate with your audience as well. We use body
language in everyday life as well, when we are talking to our friends, or when we are afraid or upset
about something. Nonverbal communication is in our gestures, eye contact, facial expressions,
posture, and movement. Hand gestures can add to your speech or take away from your speech tending
on how you use them. It is important that your make your hand gestures as natural as possible. It says
to stand straight with your arms bent at the waist and relax them.
It is important not to hug your body, lock your hands behind your back, or grasp and lean on the
lecture. This brings to mind how I grasp the lecture when I get up to speech, because I do not know
what to do with my hands. I feel more comfortable away from the lecture and trying to incorporate
gestures into my speech. It helps me feel more connected with my audience, because it is a means of
communication that feels natural. It also talks about how you can tell if your gestures are adding or
taking away from your speech by watching

History And History Of Fuel Cells
History of fuel cells according to Vladimir S. Bagotsky (2012)
Luigi Galvani (1737 1798)
In 1791, the Italian physiologist Luigi Galvani discovered that the muscle contractions, similar to the
discharged of a Leyden charge, will occur when two metals touch the nerve of a frog.
Alexandro Volta (1745 1827)
In 1800, Alexandro Volta designed a device called Volta pile that originated from the phenomenon
discovered by Galvani. The Volta pile is the prototype of electrochemical power sources such as
battery and was of significance of development is the science of both electricity and electrochemistry.
Sir William Robert Grove (1811 1896)
In 1830s, A British chemist Sir William Robert Grove conducted a series of experiment on water
electrolysis. His device consisted of two platinum electrodes dipping into water acidified with sulfuric
acid. Grove assumed that by channeling current, water can be decomposed to hydrogen and oxygen
and the possibility of opposite reaction. But after disconnecting the current, the electrodes at which the
hydrogen and oxygen had been evolve as gasses were polarized. A certain potential difference was
preserve between the electrodes. Sir Grove named his invention as gas voltaic battery. His invention
becomes the first prototype of fuel cells.
Ludwig Mond (1839 1909) and Carl Langer (1889)
Fifty years after the first prototype was invented, Mond and Langer accomplished successful
experiments regarding the generation of electric current with

Physical space can inform researchers on how people interact with that space, and influence social
behavior. Applied anthropologists have a very important tool in their practitioner s toolkit that allows
them to disseminate behavior, actions, and help create spaces that will meet the needs of the
population using ethnography. Ethnography allows practitioners to use their observational skills to
improve the design of a product, landscape, environment, or assist with an infrastructural design based
on the needs of the individuals that will access such facilities (Rijsberman 2012). To do so, it is
extremely important to know the impact of physical surroundings and environmental behavior and
understand that environments have a strong influence on people s interaction with the physical
landscape.
The chapters assigned for this week focused on observing physical spaces and observing
environmental behavior. It is important to observe physical traces, physical surroundings, which
display how people interact with other individuals and that environment (Zeisel 2006). One of the big
topics of chapter 8 was how individuals change their environment to meet their needs. For example,
this can be observed when individuals create their own walkway or path. Around San Jose State there

it is important to consider in data analysis. It is particularly important to understand such effect on the
people that are being observed and mitigate the impact by being inconspicuous as possible and

Nail Salon Research Paper
Everyone dreams of getting professional nail services that guarantee a glamorous look. However, this
is not always the case for most people as they end up with an infection or discolored nails. It is very
crucial to take your time before choosing a nail salon.
A nail salon primarily offers nail care services. However, some nail salons can further offer skin care
services. Nail salons are mostly associated with highly skilled nail technicians. Examples of the nail
care services offered include nail enhancement, manicure, and pedicure.
Facts about nail care services
It is important to let your nails breathe

It goes beyond the visible interior cleanliness and further entails proper cleaning of the instruments
used. Most people who go seeking for nail care services without being so keen on a salon s sanitation
level, end up with a bacterial or fungal infection. An example of an infection includes hepatitis. You
should check whether the salon is using instruments that are routinely sterilized using ultraviolet rays.
This greatly helps fight infections. It is very important to check that your technician is using new nail
files. You should assess how clean the bowls used are. If you don t trust a nail salon and doubt their
levels of hygiene, you can carry your own tools to get the nail art done. However, this may require you
to buy a set of nail care tools.
Does your nail salon of choice have a license?
A nail salon license is important. It shows that the business is legal and hygienic. It is a requirement by
law that nail technicians visibly display their operating license. The licenses offer awareness on
hygienic nail care services. They also include professional qualifications of nail technicians.

Family As A Group Of People
When you ask people for their opinion on the definition of a family, the first definition that comes to
mind is the nuclear family. Some people would agree with the notation. However, others have a
different interpretation of the definition. The definition that should describe a family is a group of
people that loves each other and where someone can share their good and bad times. With the
definition of a family being a group of people that cares for each other and can be there in the time of
need, it is opposite of the well known nuclear family. A nuclear family consists of 2 parents and
offspring living under the same roof. But that is not always true. Some families have two dads or two
moms. Others might only have one of them. Some ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the short poem Aunt Ida Pieces a Quilt , by Melvin Dixon, we see a family that is in tears because
one of their family members passed away with AIDS and they family was heartbroken. Together, each
family member helped each other out and the aunt built a quilt that has all the objects sewn to the quilt
that represents the child. They help each other out so that person doesn t get lost with grief and
depression from losing a family member. Everyone supports each other and they all pull through the
rough times that life gives to them.
In a family, there are different roles that everybody does. For example, there is always at least on
person caring for the kids in the house. There is someone that cooks the food and cleans the house.
There are adults that are in charge of the house and kids who listens to them and do chores. Usually in
a nuclear family, the mother stays home and cook while the father is the only one that goes outside
and into his company. The children goes to school and stays outside until it is dusk, then coming
inside the house for dinner. All of these roles is what most people think all white families do. Just like
Gary Soto in Looking for Work , when Soto was 9 years old, he sees on the television a white family
that has contrasting traditions than Soto s family. Wanting to be like the whites, Soto is determined to
change his family. During summer, Soto sees the comfortable lives of white

Kennedy Middle School Garden Case Study
The Kennedy Middle School fifth grade class is growing a school garden. The students are very
excited to grow a garden, but animals have been eating the goods, so a fence needs to be put in. The
total cost to fence in the garden will be $159. The class calculated this by finding the perimeter (in
feet) and multiplying it by the cost per foot of fence, $1.50. The Pythagorean Theorem a2 +b2=c2
helped find the hypotenuses of the two right triangles that the garden can be broken into, which helped
the find the perimeter. The class first wrote the Pythagorean Theorem, which is a2 +b2=c2, to find the
hypotenuses of the triangles. The legs of the triangles were represented by a and b and the hypotenuse
was represented by c. After writing the equation,

New Public Management ( Npm )
New Public Management (NPM) was developed in response to some criticisms of the public sector.
One of them is to make the public sector more financially accountable since they need to demonstrate
to the government who provides them funding, that the money is being put into good use. They also
need to ensure efficient resource allocation (Peyton) because resources are limited yet there is an
increase in expectations and demands. For example, number of public hospitals and medical expertise
may be insufficient to meet the public s demand. This is because government feel compelled to ensure
that everyone can access healthcare and is therefore, provided at a low cost. The problem is made
worse due to the growth of private hospitals, where quality of services is regarded as superior to
public hospitals. The public medical sector is thus under great pressure to improve service quality and
efficiency.
It is said that the new public management reforms have made public sector organisations more
calculable and accountable. First of all, it is important to define these terms. Calculable means the
ability to measure and assess the worth of something. In our context, it often means putting monetary
value on tangibles and intangibles. Accountable means being held responsible for actions taken and
the ability to answer to those who are involved in the process. Accountability can be towards donors
(upwards) or towards beneficiaries (downwards). In order to investigate this statement

Reflection Of The Camino
The Camino Day 1: We left the College on Saturday, the 6th of May. The flight departed at 11:45 and
we didn t arrive at Biarritz until 2:50. Then we got a bus from the airport to St Jean Pied de Port, a
small village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains. When we got to St Jean, I was taken aback by the
town. It was a mixture of old streets and building from centuries ago and modern roads and shops. We
had a mass in the local parish before we got to explore the town. It was late by then so most of the
shops were closed, but you still got a feel for the town as we strolled down the narrow streets. A
parade was commencing when we were wandering around that was celebrating the Basque Region s
heritage. They were dressed in their traditional clothes and were waving the Basque flag. I didn t
know about the Basque Region s fight for independence before then but Mr. Mccormack explained it
to me. To greatly simplify it, the citizens of the Basque Region believe they shouldn t be members of
France and Spain because they have their own traditions, customs and lifestyles that oppose those of
the French and Spanish. After exploring the town we returned to the hotel, reflected on the day, ate
dinner, and then went to bed. Day 2: The second day involved a lot more work than the first. It was

Political Satire In Rob Sitch s Fat Chance
Analyse the way in which satire can provoke and engage its audiences. Through skillful manipulation
of language, irony and wit, satirical texts seek to highlight humanity s various vices and shortcomings,
and in so doing comment on prevailing social norms and attitudes. , Political satire, in particular, seeks
to elicit social awareness of the vices and foibles of political institutions, and through commentary that
ranges from mockery to condemnation, provides insight into the internal machinations and moral and
ideological ambiguity of politics. Rob Sitch s 2008 mockumentary The Hollowmenexposes the

The premise of the episode is a snap policy decision made on talkback radio to fight obesity by the
nameless, faceless prime minister. Making a wry comment on Australian politics, Sitch represents the
PM s uninspiring private secretary Tony and the other political advisors as the hollow men of
Australian politics. This is unequivocally conveyed through the verisimilitude of the time date
[quote/example], and panning images of Canberra. In naming the PM s advisors the central policy unit
or CPU , Sitch mocks the bureaucratic jargon which seems to define the policy making process. This
is further developed through constant use of political jargon, where the prime minister announces new
policy with a series of meaningless phrases such as raft of measures , speaking to all stakeholders ,
and provisional policy . , The superficial, short sighted and self serving nature of political decisions
humourously conveyed through the advisor Mel s concern, should we announce it at a hospital or at

Are Women Morally Superior To Men By Katha Pollitt
Katha Pollitt s essay, Marooned on Gilligan s Island: Are Women Morally Superior to Men, is an essay
that explains why people in a society act the way they do, specifically regarding why women are
labeled the way that they are. Ms. Pollitt argues how gender difference is a big problem in our society
that a lot of people, including women overlook. Through her refutation of many different authors
arguments, she begins to build her thesis as well as discuss how important this topic is in society and
how it effects the lives of people. Pollitt explicitly points out throughout her essay, that difference
feminists are arguing that women s only job in society is one that conforms to a man. Pollitt disagrees
with this statement. Pollitt argues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She even furthers her argument by saying that this leads to sexual inequality and misogyny. Katha
however argues a different side. Katha elaborates that daughters should not define themselves by
relating to their mothers, because by doing this she is equating that women must adhere to the
traditional values. These traditional values, are the problem with gender difference.
Women in the work force are not nearly as dominant as men are. Katha argues that this isn t due to
women not being able to handle the workload, but instead because of how society, especially in the
business world, best adheres to a man. Katha uses an excellent example on page 402 that shows how
inequality in the business world is prevalent. Katha uses the Sears case in which Men were getting the
bigger and better business deals, simply because women could not handle the pressure of dealing with
the amount of work and emotional fatigue this would have brought. Finally she analyzes that women
aren t actually emotionally weak. It is society that has labeled them this way, which causes people to
view and categorize women as emotionally weak. Pollitt wants the general public to know that women
are perfectly happy by being themselves, and not having to conform to society s expectations. Katha
says that this is because society has labeled women as not wanting a job that has a lot of emotional ties
in it.
Gilligan, a supporter of feminism argues that sexes, make high

number of factors that influences the outcome. Family and friends are the primary agents that affect an
individual who is developing their political socialization. Since family members are the first to
influence ideologies for somebody, who is still developing and growing, they are able to have a direct

Starting small, gender is a specific that divides the nation due to the varying perspectives between men
and women. Gender becomes even more complex with the addition of others sexual/gender
preferences that are starting to become more included in American society. The next step up is
religion; it is crucial to understand how it has evolved over the course of our nation s history and why
not everyone is represented. Religion, itself, shares the sample problem with sampling everyone
randomly within a population: both share a varied and complex amount that can create insignificant
data for a sample. Take Christianity for example: if one tried to sample the entire religion (that
contains over thirty thousand different branches and denominations), the data would be out of date and
irrelevant to the goals of the sample in the first place. Not to mention the amount of data that would
only represent a small portion of a sample (ex. small denominations that believe in extreme views.
That is why it s common to see centralized branches of Christianity (Catholicism, Protestantism, Non
denominations, etc.) in samples, instead of a broad category of unconnected religions in the
population. The same can be theoretical for other major religions such as Islam, Judaism, Buddhism,

The primary focus of HRM strategy is the manner in which the HR department aligns general
activities, policies and procedures with the opportunity imperatives of the organization. Such relevant
HRM expertise constitutes nothing less than a powerful strategic opportunity. Methodology The
original purpose of the audit s companion review of the literature was to find other empirical studies
of the airline industry regarding HRM practices, from an applied perspective, with which to compare
and contrast the results of the audit presented later in this article. None were found. This is consistent
with the findings of other researchers. M. L. Thomas (1997), author of the book, A Portfolio
Management Approach to Strategic Airline Planning, comments on the scarcity of research in the area
of airline management. In reviewing the literature on international aviation, it is clear that researchers
tend to analyze the industry at a macro level. Although it has gained much attention recently . . . the
topic of international commercial airline management suffers from a lack of theoretical and empirical
work, and the scarcity of literature from a microeconomic perspective. According to J. Eaton (2001),
author of the book, Globalization and Human Resource in the Airline Industry, research is particularly
difficult because Airline managers are even more secretive and defensive about academic research

My Parents And Broken Parents
When I was younger I was always thankful my parents weren t divorced. I saw classmates struggle
with the pain of separated parents. I heard horror stories of them arguing and children having to pick
sides. It sounded like hell. I knew I was lucky. I got to go home and not have to go to sleep covering
my ears with my pillow, drowning out parents yelling. I was surrounded by love everywhere I looked.
My little, narrowminded self thought I had it better simply because I had parents that never fought in
front of me and lived in the same house. However, I stand here today with divorced parents, and a
completely different mindset on love.

Hymn To Aten And Enuma Elis
The creation of the Earth, human beings, and all that is existent and nonexistent is a topic that has
been discussed and pondered as long as time itself. Cosmologies may contrast greatly from region to
region, while some cultures beliefs run parallel to each other. The Babylonian creation myth detailed
in the Enuma Elis and one of the Egyptian creation myths narrated in the Hymn to Aten outline the
culture s own religious answer to the working of the universe. The Enuma Elis follows the story of
multiple gods that, when working with and working against each other, create a greater being which
ultimately creates human life. The Egyptian Hymn to Aten depicts the power of their god and the
nature in which their Earth exists. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These opinionated acts of the gods causes them to appear subject to bias and irrationality; both of
which instill harsh traits which cause the gods to be beings worthy of fear in the eyes of mankind.
The Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten depicts his own beliefs on the nature of divinity in his writing of the
Hymn to Aten. Egyptian ideology, previous based around multiple gods, became monotheistic under
the rule of Akhenaten. He wrote the hymn to express Aten as the sole God without equal who created
all that exists (NYU Classes). Aten created life and controls life in this Egyptian creation myth, and
his divinity is one that adheres to a cyclical nature of life and death. He gives his people the things
they need while also caring for the animals. The speaker s voice in the hymn illuminates the greatness
of Aten as each line is one of adoration and amazement. Aten is depicted as beauteous, mighty and
radiant as he lights and warms the Earth for mankind, further reinforcing the immense devotion the
speaker has for their god (NYU Classes). This level of love for Aten shows he is a good natured god
with good intentions for his people.
As multiple gods exist, conflicts and distinct traits also exist. This truth is seen clearly in the contrast
between Aten and the Babylonian gods. Aten is characterized as an exceptionally calm and caring god,
and as he is never seen in a situation where he needs to defend himself, this inherently good nature is
consistent. On the

biology. Middle school was when I realized how fascinated I am by animals, their behavior, and their
welfare. I began to notice the overpopulation issue of strays and the overfill in local shelters. It opened
my eyes to what seemed like a different aspect of the world. There are so many social issues that
people are focused on, and some people have started to ignore other living creatures. This has struck
me. As I ve been getting older, I feel, more and more, like I can make a difference, at least in my
community. Now, since I have started driving, I have rehabilitated a kitten I found, taken countless
stray cats to a local spay/neuter clinic, and

Essay about A New York Times Review of “Paid in Full”
A New York Times Review of Paid in Full
Hello my readers, I know you must have been surprised when you saw this review on the listing of our
website, movies.nytimes.com. But only six and a half years ago a movie came out which did not
generate outstanding revenue in the box office, being released domestically and only earring
$3,090,862. I assume those of you who did see the movie in 2002 have probably forgotten about it by
now, and I was not working for the New York Times, so I would like to revisit this film. It is an
interpretation of a true story of three young men in Harlem, New York during the 1980s and their rise
and fall in the drug dealing business. The actor who plays Mitch in the film (who portrays the true
story of Alberto ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because directors like him who have experience dealing with portraying realistic human interactions
would certainly do well turning a true story into a full length feature film. Mr. Stone had the task of
presenting realistic interactions of characters and depiction of the drug craze in the New York City
area during the 1980s. The overall representation of the life in New York City was certainly not
amateur, Mt. Stone s experience in the area of human interactions shown through in every part of the
movie. But let me say that the movie was of course not perfect. The main character of Paid in Full,
Ace (Wood Harris), also the narrator of the film, is a reserved young man who find of a small portion
of cocaine leads him into the life of a drug dealer. He decided to quit his quiet, yet community
orientated job delivering dry cleaning around town to sell drugs in place of his ego filled best friend,
Mitch (Mekhi Phifer), when Mitch gets sentenced to prison. When Ace was around Mitch all he saw
were the riches and notoriety that came to Mitch because of his occupation as a drug dealer. The
decision to become a drug dealer was an easy choice for Ace especially when he found a source of
cocaine to sell. Ace begins to fall head over heels into the life of a drug dealer, when the money begins
to flow in at a higher and stronger rate. It takes all of his effort not to allow himself to be lost in the
tangle of conflicts, which in the end

Reflection About Nigga
People, please do not be confused with the N word (Nigga). See in the hood we spell it with a at the
end of the term instead of er, therefore, nigga is a term of endearment, that we use in the hood, not to
be confused with the derogatory term which is nigger. I am doing this not so much for you professor,
cuz I sure you know the difference right? However, I am doing this to be politically correct in case
anyone else reads this and takes offense to me using the term nigga in this reflection piece. I just
wanted to make that clarification :)
Anyhow, before I move on to the next pivotal point of my life, there is some other shit that I forgot to
mention, fuck man is already twelve fucking pages...lol! Anyway, I am fourteen years old, and by this
time I was already hanging out big time in the streets and shit. I had full time Job, working at this
factory with my favorite Aunt, as I mentioned to you guys earlier; she was the last Aunt who stayed
behind in the Bronx. I won t mention the name of the factory for private reasons.
I was making three dollars and thirty five cents an hour. That s right folks you heard correctly, 3.35 a
fucking hour. I did not give a fuck, cuz I was a poor motherfucker living in the hood broke as hell (no
money) and I didn t want to start clocking (selling) crack (cocaine mixed with baking soda) on the
fucking corners. Consequently, it was either sell some crack, make about four hundred dollars a day,
risk my ass going to jail, or make 3.35 an hour.

How Did Scout Set A Watchman
Have you ever felt like you wee never afraid to speak your mind? That is what Jean Louise
Finch(Scout) felt like throughout this book. It is full of old things that Scout has missed out on, and
worse things yet to come. Go Set a watchman was written by the now deceased Harper Lee. This book
shows what the south is all about: money and drama.
The setting of this book is Alabama. It is mainly the town we know and love called Maycomb. The
time period is the 1950 s. The town has changed a lot from her childhood home being torn apart to
Finch s Landing being sold to a hunting club. i believe Lee chose this sort of setting to show what the
south was really like during this time period, considering she based this book off of her experiences.
The main character of this book was the girl who never seemed to get out of old habits that we love,

Lee gives this message off by showing that these situations actually do happen in real life and it not
your regular fiction story. an example of this is when Jean Louise proves to attics that she has grown
up and can fight for what she believes in. I think that Lee wanted to show people that life was harder
than you think in that time period. Most people try to forget, but she kept it alive to remind us that we
can t change history. This book was different than I expected to be. Since Harper lee did not have
much say in this book being released, it was forced upon her and It was not as good as To Kill a
Mockingbird. It did not hold my Interest as much as I thought it would. I have always enjoyed Lee s
way of writing and I am glad she decided to switch the person up a bit from first to third. I would
recommend this book to a friend only to read it and seeing what it is all about. i would do this only
because I didn t like it very much as I mentioned before. I did enjoy reading it, but not necessarily the
way I came to read

The Grail As A Symbol Of Divine Grace
The Holy Grail is the mystical cup that Christ used at the last supper and it is believed that it holds
special powers. The Grail was considered to be a bowl or dish when first described by Chrétien de
Troyes (Holy Grail Crystalinks). Hélinand of Froidmont described the Grail as a wide and deep saucer
(O Neal 79). Other authors had their own ideas: Robert de Boron portrayed it as the vessel of the Last
Supper; and Peredur had no Grail per se, presenting the hero instead with a platter containing his
kinsman s bloody, severed head (Holy Grail Crystalinks). In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing
the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone that
fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the Neutral Angels who took neither side during
Lucifer s rebellion. The authors of the Vulgate Cycle used the Grail as a symbol of divine grace.
Galahad, illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, the world s greatest knight and the Grail Bearer at
the castle of Corbenic, is destined to achieve the Grail, his spiritual purity making him a greater
warrior than even his illustrious father. Galahad and the interpretation of the Grail involving him were
picked up in the 15th century by Sir Thomas Malory in Le Morte d Arthur, and remain popular today.
The Grail is first featured in Perceval, le Conte du Graal (The Story of the Grail) by Chrétien de
Troyes, who claims he was working from a source book given to him by his patron,

Persuasive Essay On High School Games
It is obvious that this game was out of control before this fight broke out. According to Murphy,
(2013) the two teams combined for a total of 20 penalties. I am not sure how many of these were
personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties but based on the postgame fight it seems that the coaches
and referees struggled to maintain control of the game.
The two teams remained separate after the game instead of shaking hands. It is custom in high school
football, and football at all levels, to shake the hand of your opponent. In the video, it is obvious that
the teams were told not to shake hands. Instead, the white team stands on the logo in the middle of the
field. The black team is heading toward the locker room when the fight breaks out.
Finally, the presence of police on the field suggests that tensions were high by the end of the game.
There are often police at high school football games but there were at least six officers on the field.
Maybe high school games have a higher police presence than I am used to in Illinois, but the number
of uniformed officers on the field suggests that this wasn t the first time that a football game between
these two teams escalated beyond normal physical football.
An athletic director would have a lot to sort out after an altercation like this. Besides the two coaches
fighting, there are many situations that need to be addressed in the video. First, a player from the white
team spears a player from the black team. This happens just above the

Compare And Contrast Rainforests And Mangroves
Rainforests and Mangroves hold very vital roles in our ecosystems, in which this essay is comparing
the two. Mangroves cultural significance towards Brisbane are strongly linked to the Aboriginal and
Torres Strait Islander communities of Australia. They have provided food, shelter, medicine and many
other resources to the land owners for over 40,000 years. They are also important to Brisbane s natural
environment because they are immensely productive ecosystems in which they provide various
resources and services, for instance they protect shorelines from erosion. Brisbane rainforests hold
significant cultural value, alike to that of the mangroves, to the Aborigines, in which they ve supply
medicine and vast amounts of foods. Rainforests are a vital stabilizer for the Earth s climate, along
with maintaining the water cycles.
Biotic factors are found in every ecosystem, interacting together to survive. Herons (or the common
egret) inhabit mangrove swamps, and are found in most parts of the world. They can usually be found
by mangrove tree roots, feeding mainly on frogs, fish, small mammals and occasionally small insects
and reptiles. In contrast, the Umbrella Cockatoo s who are rainforest dwellers, they are located in

The symbiosis between a mangroves pneumatophores (roots) and an oyster is commensalism, the
oyster uses the roots as a place to live while the mangrove stays unharmed. Another communalistic
relationship is that between New World army ants and antbirds, the ants have a tendency to shake the
rainforest floor as they march, this disrupts insects which causes them to fly out. The insects are then
eaten by the following antbirds, the birds are then benefiting while the ants don t care. When looking
at the communalistic relationships there are many differences, the oyster lives in the mangroves roots,
while the antbird obtains food from what the ants

The Economic Position On The Business Cycle
he business cycle, also known as the trade cycle, is defined as the fluctuation in economic activity that
an economy experiences over a period of time (SOURCE). Basically, the trade cycle is the alternating
cyclical movement of economic conditions; phasing through periods of expansion, peaks,
contractions, troughs and recoveries. Predicting the whereabouts of a nation and its economy on the
trade cycle is a very important challenge; as the determination of current and forecasted economic
conditions allows governments, firms and households alike to navigate the economy and prepare for
future issues. In today s article, the Australian economic position on the business cycle will be
forecasted using a range of different reports, models and economic criterion. THE REPORTS Current
reports, experts and articles all indicate that conditions of the global economy are currently very poor.
Looking past a number of singularities and minor issues, most reports point towards three main
economic issues as the cause of the weak worldwide markets; poor productivity in China, recent
slumps in the value of commodities, and minimal investor confidence. This section will analyse
exactly what these issues are, how they are effecting the global economy and what impact they have
on Australia.
Starting with China, the Motley Fool recently reported that falls in the level of productivity and
economic movement in the country resulted in a worldwide reduction of foreign trade and investment.

A Short Note On Lymphoma And Lymphom Lymphoma
Hodgkin?s Lymphoma Hodgkin?s Lymphoma (HL), also called Hodgkin?s Disease is a rare type of
lymphoma that develops when the body?s immune system produces abnormal B lymphocytes. HL was
discovered in 1832 by Dr. Thomas Hodgkin?s. HL is most commonly diagnosed by the presence of a
mutated B cell called a Reed Sternberg cell and targets the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is
comprised of many different things, tissues, nodes, vessels, capillaries, and organs. Its main function is
to help the immune system fight infection by carrying white blood cells throughout the body in its
lymph fluid. Although HL can affect various parts of the body, lymph nodes are the part mainly
affected. The disease usually moves predictably through the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Other factors shown to be associated with HL include age, gender, and genetics. Young adults and
patients older than 55 years of age have greater incidence of HL. Men are more likely to get HL than
women. Also, siblings of a person with the disease are at more risk and if the siblings are twins the
risk increases (Ansell, 2016). Hodgkin?s Lymphoma?s most distinctive presenting sign is painless
lymphadenopathy. These swollen nodes are commonly in the cervical or supraclavicular area, but may
present as a mediastinal mass. Mediastinal masses can be painless and asymptomatic, but also can
block the superior vena cava and cause respiratory symptoms such as cough and dyspnea.
Asymptomatic masses may be found inadvertently during an unrelated diagnostic test, such as a chest
x ray. Patients may also have systemic symptoms such as fatigue, pruritus, or pain after consuming
alcohol. These symptoms may be present but are less concerning than other flu like symptoms
commonly referred to as ?B symptoms?. These include: fever, extreme night sweats, and rapid
unexplained weight loss. These symptoms are very important in predicting the outcome and treatment
of HL (Townsend Linch, 2012). For diagnosis, the physician begins with thorough health history and a
complete physical exam. Blood tests for diagnosis may include: Lactate Dehydrogenase (LDH),
complete blood count (CBC), and alkaline phosphatase

while drunk. In all 50 states, the legal limit for drunk driving is a blood alcohol concentration (BAC)

  • 2. Improving Public Speaking And Oral Communication Skills In my research online on How to improve public speaking or oral communication skills I would like to discuss the source I found on how to improve your public speaking with body language. We went over this several times in class and it was in our test we took at the beginning of our course. Body language is an important aspect of giving a speech, because you are not just speaking with your mouth when you present. You use body language to communicate with your audience as well. We use body language in everyday life as well, when we are talking to our friends, or when we are afraid or upset about something. Nonverbal communication is in our gestures, eye contact, facial expressions, posture, and movement. Hand gestures can add to your speech or take away from your speech tending on how you use them. It is important that your make your hand gestures as natural as possible. It says to stand straight with your arms bent at the waist and relax them. It is important not to hug your body, lock your hands behind your back, or grasp and lean on the lecture. This brings to mind how I grasp the lecture when I get up to speech, because I do not know what to do with my hands. I feel more comfortable away from the lecture and trying to incorporate gestures into my speech. It helps me feel more connected with my audience, because it is a means of communication that feels natural. It also talks about how you can tell if your gestures are adding or taking away from your speech by watching ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. History And History Of Fuel Cells History of fuel cells according to Vladimir S. Bagotsky (2012) Luigi Galvani (1737 1798) In 1791, the Italian physiologist Luigi Galvani discovered that the muscle contractions, similar to the discharged of a Leyden charge, will occur when two metals touch the nerve of a frog. Alexandro Volta (1745 1827) In 1800, Alexandro Volta designed a device called Volta pile that originated from the phenomenon discovered by Galvani. The Volta pile is the prototype of electrochemical power sources such as battery and was of significance of development is the science of both electricity and electrochemistry. Sir William Robert Grove (1811 1896) In 1830s, A British chemist Sir William Robert Grove conducted a series of experiment on water electrolysis. His device consisted of two platinum electrodes dipping into water acidified with sulfuric acid. Grove assumed that by channeling current, water can be decomposed to hydrogen and oxygen and the possibility of opposite reaction. But after disconnecting the current, the electrodes at which the hydrogen and oxygen had been evolve as gasses were polarized. A certain potential difference was preserve between the electrodes. Sir Grove named his invention as gas voltaic battery. His invention becomes the first prototype of fuel cells. Ludwig Mond (1839 1909) and Carl Langer (1889) Fifty years after the first prototype was invented, Mond and Langer accomplished successful experiments regarding the generation of electric current with ... • 4. Hawthorne Effect Ethnography Miguel Huerta Anth 232 Dr. English Lueck 3/14/17 Write up 4 (Design Chpt 8 9) Physical space can inform researchers on how people interact with that space, and influence social behavior. Applied anthropologists have a very important tool in their practitioner s toolkit that allows them to disseminate behavior, actions, and help create spaces that will meet the needs of the population using ethnography. Ethnography allows practitioners to use their observational skills to improve the design of a product, landscape, environment, or assist with an infrastructural design based on the needs of the individuals that will access such facilities (Rijsberman 2012). To do so, it is extremely important to know the impact of physical surroundings and environmental behavior and understand that environments have a strong influence on people s interaction with the physical landscape. The chapters assigned for this week focused on observing physical spaces and observing environmental behavior. It is important to observe physical traces, physical surroundings, which display how people interact with other individuals and that environment (Zeisel 2006). One of the big topics of chapter 8 was how individuals change their environment to meet their needs. For example, this can be observed when individuals create their own walkway or path. • 6. Family As A Group Of People When you ask people for their opinion on the definition of a family, the first definition that comes to mind is the nuclear family. Some people would agree with the notation. However, others have a different interpretation of the definition. The definition that should describe a family is a group of people that loves each other and where someone can share their good and bad times. With the definition of a family being a group of people that cares for each other and can be there in the time of need, it is opposite of the well known nuclear family. They help each other out so that person doesn t get lost with grief and depression from losing a family member. Everyone supports each other and they all pull through the rough times that life gives to them. In a family, there are different roles that everybody does. For example, there is always at least on person caring for the kids in the house. There is someone that cooks the food and cleans the house. There are adults that are in charge of the house and kids who listens to them and do chores. The students are very excited to grow a garden, but animals have been eating the goods, so a fence needs to be put in. The total cost to fence in the garden will be $159. The class calculated this by finding the perimeter (in feet) and multiplying it by the cost per foot of fence, $1.50. The Pythagorean Theorem a2 +b2=c2 helped find the hypotenuses of the two right triangles that the garden can be broken into, which helped the find the perimeter. • 8. New Public Management ( Npm ) New Public Management (NPM) was developed in response to some criticisms of the public sector. One of them is to make the public sector more financially accountable since they need to demonstrate to the government who provides them funding, that the money is being put into good use. They also need to ensure efficient resource allocation (Peyton) because resources are limited yet there is an increase in expectations and demands. For example, number of public hospitals and medical expertise may be insufficient to meet the public s demand. This is because government feel compelled to ensure that everyone can access healthcare and is therefore, provided at a low cost. The problem is made worse due to the growth of private hospitals, where quality of services is regarded as superior to public hospitals. The public medical sector is thus under great pressure to improve service quality and efficiency. It is said that the new public management reforms have made public sector organisations more calculable and accountable. First of all, it is important to define these terms. Calculable means the ability to measure and assess the worth of something. In our context, it often means putting monetary value on tangibles and intangibles. Accountable means being held responsible for actions taken and the ability to answer to those who are involved in the process. Accountability can be towards donors (upwards) or towards beneficiaries (downwards). In order to investigate this statement ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Then we got a bus from the airport to St Jean Pied de Port, a small village at the base of the Pyrenees Mountains. When we got to St Jean, I was taken aback by the town. It was a mixture of old streets and building from centuries ago and modern roads and shops. We had a mass in the local parish before we got to explore the town. It was late by then so most of the shops were closed, but you still got a feel for the town as we strolled down the narrow streets. A parade was commencing when we were wandering around that was celebrating the Basque Region s heritage. They were dressed in their traditional clothes and were waving the Basque flag. I didn t know about the Basque Region s fight for independence before then but Mr. Mccormack explained it to me. To greatly simplify it, the citizens of the Basque Region believe they shouldn t be members of France and Spain because they have their own traditions, customs and lifestyles that oppose those of the French and Spanish. After exploring the town we returned to the hotel, reflected on the day, ate dinner, and then went to bed. Day 2: The second day involved a lot more work than the first. Through skillful manipulation of language, irony and wit, satirical texts seek to highlight humanity s various vices and shortcomings, and in so doing comment on prevailing social norms and attitudes. , Political satire, in particular, seeks to elicit social awareness of the vices and foibles of political institutions, and through commentary that ranges from mockery to condemnation, provides insight into the internal machinations and moral and ideological ambiguity of politics. This is unequivocally conveyed through the verisimilitude of the time date [quote/example], and panning images of Canberra. In naming the PM s advisors the central policy unit or CPU , Sitch mocks the bureaucratic jargon which seems to define the policy making process. This is further developed through constant use of political jargon, where the prime minister announces new policy with a series of meaningless phrases such as raft of measures , speaking to all stakeholders , and provisional policy . , The superficial, short sighted and self serving nature of political decisions humourously conveyed through the advisor Mel s concern, should we announce it at a hospital or at parliament ? , before the policy is even named, satirising the reactionary and appearance obsessed values of ... • 12. Are Women Morally Superior To Men By Katha Pollitt Katha Pollitt s essay, Marooned on Gilligan s Island: Are Women Morally Superior to Men, is an essay that explains why people in a society act the way they do, specifically regarding why women are labeled the way that they are. Ms. Pollitt argues how gender difference is a big problem in our society that a lot of people, including women overlook. Through her refutation of many different authors arguments, she begins to build her thesis as well as discuss how important this topic is in society and how it effects the lives of people. Pollitt explicitly points out throughout her essay, that difference feminists are arguing that women s only job in society is one that conforms to a man. Pollitt disagrees with this statement. Pollitt argues ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... She even furthers her argument by saying that this leads to sexual inequality and misogyny. Katha however argues a different side. Katha elaborates that daughters should not define themselves by relating to their mothers, because by doing this she is equating that women must adhere to the traditional values. These traditional values, are the problem with gender difference. Women in the work force are not nearly as dominant as men are. Katha argues that this isn t due to women not being able to handle the workload, but instead because of how society, especially in the business world, best adheres to a man. Katha uses an excellent example on page 402 that shows how inequality in the business world is prevalent. Katha uses the Sears case in which Men were getting the bigger and better business deals, simply because women could not handle the pressure of dealing with the amount of work and emotional fatigue this would have brought. Finally she analyzes that women aren t actually emotionally weak. It is society that has labeled them this way, which causes people to view and categorize women as emotionally weak. Pollitt wants the general public to know that women are perfectly happy by being themselves, and not having to conform to society s expectations. Katha says that this is because society has labeled women as not wanting a job that has a lot of emotional ties in it. Gilligan, a supporter of feminism argues that sexes, make high ... In reviewing the literature on international aviation, it is clear that researchers tend to analyze the industry at a macro level. The Babylonian creation myth detailed in the Enuma Elis and one of the Egyptian creation myths narrated in the Hymn to Aten outline the culture s own religious answer to the working of the universe. The Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten depicts his own beliefs on the nature of divinity in his writing of the Hymn to Aten. Egyptian ideology, previous based around multiple gods, became monotheistic under the rule of Akhenaten. He wrote the hymn to express Aten as the sole God without equal who created all that exists (NYU Classes). Aten created life and controls life in this Egyptian creation myth, and his divinity is one that adheres to a cyclical nature of life and death. He gives his people the things they need while also caring for the animals. The speaker s voice in the hymn illuminates the greatness of Aten as each line is one of adoration and amazement. Aten is depicted as beauteous, mighty and radiant as he lights and warms the Earth for mankind, further reinforcing the immense devotion the speaker has for their god (NYU Classes). This level of love for Aten shows he is a good natured god with good intentions for his people. As multiple gods exist, conflicts and distinct traits also exist. This truth is seen clearly in the contrast between Aten and the Babylonian gods. Aten is characterized as an exceptionally calm and caring god, and as he is never seen in a situation where he needs to defend himself, this inherently good nature is consistent. On the ... The Grail was considered to be a bowl or dish when first described by Chrétien de Troyes (Holy Grail Crystalinks). Hélinand of Froidmont described the Grail as a wide and deep saucer (O Neal 79). Other authors had their own ideas: Robert de Boron portrayed it as the vessel of the Last Supper; and Peredur had no Grail per se, presenting the hero instead with a platter containing his kinsman s bloody, severed head (Holy Grail Crystalinks). In Parzival, Wolfram von Eschenbach, citing the authority of a certain (probably fictional) Kyot the Provençal, claimed the Grail was a stone that fell from Heaven, and had been the sanctuary of the Neutral Angels who took neither side during Lucifer s rebellion. The authors of the Vulgate Cycle used the Grail as a symbol of divine grace. Galahad, illegitimate son of Lancelot and Elaine, the world s greatest knight and the Grail Bearer at the castle of Corbenic, is destined to achieve the Grail, his spiritual purity making him a greater warrior than even his illustrious father. According to Murphy, (2013) the two teams combined for a total of 20 penalties. I am not sure how many of these were personal fouls or unsportsmanlike penalties but based on the postgame fight it seems that the coaches and referees struggled to maintain control of the game. The two teams remained separate after the game instead of shaking hands. It is custom in high school football, and football at all levels, to shake the hand of your opponent. In the video, it is obvious that the teams were told not to shake hands. Instead, the white team stands on the logo in the middle of the field. The black team is heading toward the locker room when the fight breaks out. Finally, the presence of police on the field suggests that tensions were high by the end of the game. There are often police at high school football games but there were at least six officers on the field. Maybe high school games have a higher police presence than I am used to in Illinois, but the number of uniformed officers on the field suggests that this wasn t the first time that a football game between these two teams escalated beyond normal physical football.
