The Importance Of Income For Professional Baseball Players
Research was made in order to persuade the readers of how professional baseball players in today s
society deserve the income they are receiving. Possessing the ability to play at a professional level is
what makes these men truly worthy of their income.
Considerable Income for Professional Baseball Players The average salary of a professional baseball
player has been increased substantially throughout the past decades; a player today makes exceedingly
more than they used to. Baseball is different from other sports due to the mental aspect of the game
making it one of the hardest sports as a professional athlete. The uphill battle to become a professional
at the sport of baseball is near impossible as talent is more frequent throughout the globe. Some argue
whether baseball is a beneficial career to the community as other professions including firefighters,
fireman, policeman, and nurses deserve the admiration more than a professional baseball player. Good
ball players are always in demand throughout the league. MLB players are highly skilled athletes thus
earning them the right to such a high income as they bring value to the organization and have put in
dedicated hours of hard work, dedication, and practice throughout all levels of play.
Consistency is what makes an average player an all star especially for Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami
Marlins. Giancarlo racked up 59 home runs in the 2017 season. In The Case for Giancarlo Stanton , by

Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Bees
There is nothing perfect, August said from the doorway. There is only life (Kidd 256). This quote from
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd explains Lily Owens life, a young girl with an unloving
father and a mother who abandoned her and was later shot and killed by her own daughter, Lily. Lily
has a hard time finding her place in the world and understanding why her life is the way it is. She
decides it is time for her to take charge of her own life. She finds herself in Tiburon, South Carolina
with her nanny Rosaleen and three black women, August, June and May who unravel the story to her
mother s past. Lily s story can be seen in different layers, the most significant layers are the religious,
thematic and symbolic layers. These three layers are essential when trying to gain understanding of
The Secret Life of Bees. In The Secret Life of bees you can learn a lot from the thematic layer. Three
salient themes in this layer are forgiveness, hope and strength. Hope is shown when Zach talks to Lily
about becoming a lawyer one day, I ve just never heard of a Negro lawyer, that s all. You ve got to
hear of these things before you can imagine them Bullshit. You gotta imagine what s never been (Kidd
121). Zach has hope that one day he will become a lawyer despite his skin color and what everyone
else says about it. He doesn t give up because of what society thinks, he stays hopeful. During this
time period African Americans had to keep hope that one day the racism

Scared-Andrea Short Story
Scared andrea It was a summer day the sun was out, the ground was hot, the shade was dull, the sweet
smell of the flowers, the icy water on the sprinkler, the perfect day to go outside and play. The birds

watching youtube all day. I need to go outside I said. to myself so I asked my mom she said yes the
moment of excitement was thrilling even great. And then as i walk out I see this thing in my cousin s

Globalization and Starbucks Coffee
GLOBALIZATION AND STARBUCKS COFFEE
A. ANALYSIS
1. According to the text, there are three levels that political risk encompasses. And they are firm
specific, country specific and global specific risks. Starbucks is considered a thriving global
enterprise. Although Starbucks has successfully entered, penetrated, and saturated many global
markets, not all attempts have been successful. Starting in 1996, Starbucks has hastily moved into 41
countries fruitfully. However, Starbucks had to pull out of Israel market after opening only 6 stores.
According to our research (Richey, Brenda, July 2006), the following will describe Starbucks
unsuccessful venture into Israel; the four main contributors to Starbucks failure in Israel: politics, ...

When Starbucks removed themselves from Israel in April 2003, they stated that it was due to
operational challenges and not the current economic and political status in the Middle East (Coussin,
n.d.). Starbucks was probably just trying to save their reputation by making this comment and did not
want to sound offensive.
Globalization is an invented term used to show a combination between the local and global
approaches. In theory, they maintain the main features of the brand, but they modify it to meet the
local cultures needs. Starbucks should have looked at KFC s failure entering is Israel as an example of
what not to do. KFC did not realize that the slaughtering of chicken in Israel was totally different from
other countries. On top of that, they were a kosher society that did not eat pork, so KFC attempted to
adapt their pig gelatin chicken coating. A successful example that Starbucks should have followed was
McDonald s success in Israel. McDonalds understood that in Israel food was very important and they
needed to adjust food preparation in order to be embraced. They decided to grill their hamburgers
instead of frying them (Coussin, n.d.). Starbucks didn t manage to adapt themselves to the regional
coffee culture. Starbucks did not modify any of their existing beverages, food products, or pricing.
They should have introduced unique food items like falafels, blintzes, and mandelbrot (Thompson,
2006).

What Are The Misrepresentation Of African Americans
The media often paints a picture of certain groups that may not be accurate for example, African
Americans in the media are portrayed as criminals, drug addicts, or misogynist which also includes
African American women are viewed as abrasive and promiscuous. While there are millions of
responsible and respectable African Americans. They are not celebrated in the media. What the
community sees are instead are thing in movies and on TV. This changes the general perception of
African Americans and cause people to assume they are violent and are a burdened to society. During
the pinnacle of segregation through the 1900s, African Americans were rarely portrayed on screen and
when they were portrayed in satirical ways, it was with white actors in blackface. This is a great
example of the misrepresentation of an entire community by those in power. In February 1915, a
movie was released called birth of a nation which was based on Thomas Dixon Jr. novel the clansman.
The film depicts the Ku Klux Klan as heroes and the villains were portrayed by white actors in black
face. The film was basically trying to justify racism and imply that the white hooded, figures where
protecting the white race because African males were trying to sexually ravage the white women this
portrayal of African American male was known as a bucks. Despite the very clear prejudice in the film
it was a major success and was the first ever major motion picture shown in the White House to

Kanye West s New Album
Kanye West s new album is soon upon us and fans have high hopes. Apparently, it will not only be the
album of the year but the album of the life.
For a self proclaimed God, this might not be the craziest statement to make. Of course, Ye s claim of
divinity is dubious at best. As a human being, Kanye has consistently released commercially
successful and critically acclaimed albums. Will the new release be the best album of the life or just
pretty good? Could it even be a rare misstep for Kanye? We will find out soon enough.
In the meantime, let us take a look back at Kanye s storied musical career. The following list will
examine one song from each of Kanye s major solo album releases.
1. Through the Wire
Year: 2004
Album: The College Dropout
Notable line: And I still won t grow up, I m a grown ass kid.
Through the Wire symbolizes Kanye s transition from a producer with a dream to legitimate MC. The
track opens with a pitched up Chaka Kahn sample, Through the Fire, alongside a lively beat. On the
track Kanye is literally rapping through the wire. The rapper s jaw was wired shut after a horrific
traffic accident in 2003. Recorded while Kanye recovered, the song represented something new for hip
hop. It is a clever and funny song chock full of cultural references. The production is soulful and
complex. Kanye set himself up us as a figure between worlds. He was a new kind of rapper that
looked forward, but also respected the past. Jesus Walks may have

Assessment tool 2 (AT2): Written/oral questions
Students should answer the following questions in writing. 1. Good Managers know which tasks
contribute to their personal effectiveness and thus the organisations success. What role does planning
play in ensuring they achieve them?
Planning allows management to identify the goals and milestones required to produce outcomes that
align to the objectives of the organisation. It also allows for commitment to timeframes when
identifying objectives and milestones, identifies those members of the team responsible for achieving
specific tasks and it also assists with task prioritisation. 2. Does technology help or hinder us in

5. What feedback might you receive from an external supplier in contrast to the feedback you might
expect from a member of your workgroup? What will influence the quality and how will the feedback
from these sources be related to an assessment of your skills gap?
Feedback from these sources can be used to assess performance and to indicate skills gaps or training
requirements. Feedback from external clients or customers might indicate a need for customer service
training. Feedback from your peers might indicate a need for conflict management, or negotiation
training. Specific technological skills needs might be pinpointed. The quality is influenced by the way
you engage with the person providing the feedback. You should accept that feedback is likely to be
honest and not react defensively otherwise the person providing the feedback will become
disinterested and the quality will deteriorate. Any shortcomings in skills will easily be identified when
someone provides opinion on how you might have handled a situation or opportunity better. 6. Why is
it important for you to take responsibility for your own work tasks and ensure that you are getting
feedback to fulfil your role?
Taking ownership of work tasks allows an individual to become accountable for their activities in the
workplace. It provides a person with an opportunity to conduct assessment of performance against a
set of tasks for which the person has accepted responsibility. This makes

Czech Republic s Problem Of Poverty
In terms of poverty, Table 2 shows the percentage of the population in Czech Republic compare with
the world from 2006 to 2012 who live on less than $1.90 a day. From 2006 to 2012, Czech Republic s
poverty headcount ratio at $1.90 a day has been nearly 0% of population compare to nearly 15% of
world population. Not only Czech Republic has a low ratio of poverty headcount at $1.90 a day, but
also has the percentage of population living under the at risk of poverty threshold lower than an
average of 27 European countries. In Table 3 provides the percentage of population living under the at
risk of poverty threshold which set at 60 percent of national median income after social transfer. It
shows that from 2005 to 2014 Czech Republic s percentage of population living under the at risk of
poverty is fluctuated between 8 10%. Furthermore, inequality of income distribution ratio in Table 4,
which indicates total disposable income ratio received by the 20% of the population with the highest
income to that received by the 20% of the population with the lowest income (Eurostat, 2016a), shows
stable rate of inequality around 3.5% since 2005. Gini index is the measurement of inequality level in
family income distribution in a country, range from 0 100 which the lower of Gini index means the
more equal of income distribution (CIA, no date). Hence, from Table 5, Czech Republic has low level
of GINI index with decreased from 27.5 in 2004 to 26.1 in 2012. Apart from income indicator,

The Holy Spirit Of The Ark
Remember, I told you the Rapture is a type of ark. The first time God used an ark was to save people
that believed in Him from the destruction of water. The second time will be to save the faithful from
the destruction of fire with the ark of rapture by a Bridegroom. It has never been God s method in the
past to pour wrath out on believers! Noah and his family went inside of the ark seven days before the
flood. The ark was a covering like a huppa, which is symbolic of heaven. The church will be raptured
away just like an ancient Jewish bride would have been. The Holy Spirit fell on the church at
Pentecost after Jesus returned to His Father s house. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Jesus
promised would come after His Ascension. The Holy Spirit manifested within the body of the church,
and it is the current restrainer of the antichrist. A spirit needs a body to manifest itself in, and when the
Holy Spirit filled church is gone, Satan, who is a spirit, will be able to take over inside of the
antichrist. The apostle Paul tells us this in 2Thessalonians 2:7 NASB, For the mystery of lawlessness
is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way.

Group Communication Essay
Group Communication Effective group communications come in forms of verbal and non verbal
techniques. Essential parts of the entire group s contribution are that the group contains full
participating members, the group is diverse, and that the diversity is recognized and respected
(Hartley, 1997). In the videos viewed, three were evaluated on the effective and ineffective
communication skills of the participants and suggestions made on how they could improve. The
videos are titled, Planning a Playground , Helping Annie , and The Politics of Sociology.

Written material could be prepared before the group met and used to make occurrences clearer to
members, who have no knowledge of the subject. The other method is telephones, which can assist the
members to gain better understanding of each other. In the use of telephones there is the reduce chance
of discrimination since the members can not see each other (if they have not met prior in some
incidences here).
Annie
To address the verbal and nonverbal interaction among the members of a group the video titled Annie
best illustrates this. In the video there is clearly both listening and miscommunication going on. The
setting of this video is that the title character, Annie is a high school girl, who seems to be suffering
from a possible eating disorder as well as depression (Understanding Relationship Helping Annie,
2008). A nurse from a school has called upon a meeting with a psychiatrist and a social worker to seek
out a possible treatment plan for Annie. In Annie , again the physical setting and placement of
participants play an important part in the communication style. Two of the members are sitting side by
side on a couch while the third person sits in her desk chair across from the couch. The person in the
chair is not only able to make eye contact with the other two but also is in a physical position to see
their verbal and non verbal communications. The two

Despair In A Clean Well-Lighted Place
Mallory Cox Period 3 12/17/2015 Comp 1 Despair, Loneliness, and Nothingness In Ernest

hardships that the characters are facing. The old man that the waiter s guess is about 80 years old has

but the money is enough to deal with what he is feeling. The older waiter also knows that the old man
has attempted suicide. The mans niece saved him from committing suicide, which once again does not
save him from the despair that he is feeling. In the beginning of the short story the younger waiter and
the older waiter are watching an older deaf man. They conclude that the older man likes the night
time, but the younger waiter does not get what the older waiter and the man understand and feel about
night time. The older man that sits under the shadows coming from a tree taps his glass to the saucer
on his table indicating that he wants more. He asks for Brandy. The servers watch him carefully
because they know that if he gets too drunk, he will not pay. The younger waiter is happy, young, and

The Battle Of Creationism And Evolutionary Theory
The battle of creationism and evolutionary theory is not a new one. That being said, in order to
understand whether creationism has a place in secondary education, one must first understand the
complexity of the matter. Evolution in itself is a theory proposed by Charles Darwin in 1859. Grossly
simplified, the theory states that life evolved from non life; the concept of descent with modification.
This theory arouses conflict because many Christians believe that it negates the literal interpretation of
the biblical creation story. It is from this story that the theory of creationism began. While some may
argue that creationism deserves to be taught alongside evolutionary theory within the science
curriculum of secondary schools of a municipality or state, these individuals are mistaken.
Creationism is not a science, therefore by teaching it one violates the first amendment and also further
develops the religious inequality that its supporters argue teaching it creates. There is no place for
creationism in the science curriculum within secondary public education. To begin, the idea that
creationism is a science is a troublesome one in itself. According to Creationism.org, the leading
authority on Creation Science, creationism is, the theory that man, the earth, and the rest of the
universe were originally created rather than randomly exploding from nothingness into chance
existence . Science as a practice is not this way. By definition, science is the knowledge about or

The Underground Railroad Is Such An Integral Part Of History
The Underground Railroad is such an integral part of history. This paper will provide insight into
railroad, a key event that assisted in igniting more passion toward ending slavery, a couple of key
players, the routes and the final destinations of the passengers of the railroad. During the time of
slavery, networks of places to meet to escort slaves to freedom were created to move them up north.
These networks being to materialize in the early 1800 s. The meeting places were secret in nature and
were later given the term Underground Railroad. The railroad would begin in the south and end in the
northern states and Canada. The railroad assisted, by estimation, over one hundred thousand slaves to
freedom. (Curtis, 1941) The action of assisting the slaves was illegal during this time but they were
assisted by good people called abolitionist. (Blackett, 2013) Abolitionists were men and women who
believed that everyone should be equal. The movement was an effort to abolish slavery. There was one
name that is not mentioned an often but who was very important to the movement and his name was
Dred Scott. Events that occurred in his life added a spark to the controversial attitude toward slavery
that would change history Dred Scott was born in 1795 in Virginia into slavery. His original owner,

This guide was too detailed for our purposes and aimed at the evaluation of much larger investment
propositions, but it nevertheless fully acquainted us with the principles and processes of undertaking a
cost benefit analysis. The benefits of a possible solution are summed, and then the costs associated
with that solution are subtracted, were Value = Benefits Cost. We did not attempt to put a dollar value
on intangible items, such as the benefits and costs associated with employee stress, morale and
motivation. However, we did appreciate that options that reduced overtime were likely to cause a drop
in employee morale and thus cause a reduction in productivity as employees focus on their loss of
overtime instead for making the products. Operations Management by Heizer Render. This secondary

Green Phytoplankton Research Paper
New studies have shown that the tiny, little sea creatures known as plankton can have a huge impact
on the atmosphere and could even help cool the earth. The Southern Ocean
(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_Ocean) has nearly no human influence enacted upon it,
therefore making it a perfect isolated area for scientists and researchers to study. The new revelation
could lead to a better way to help combat global warming.
The Green Phytoplankton
Green phytoplankton (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phytoplankton) get their color from chlorophyll,
the chemical that makes plants green as well as lets them absorb sunlight. The byproduct of the
plankton s absorption of sunlight is a chemical compound called dimethyl sulfide. This compound gets
released by the plankton and is then turned into a sort of sulfate aerosol that rises into the atmosphere.
This particular aerosol attracts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
How Rain can cool the Earth
Rain falls when clouds contain so much moisture that they can t hold anymore and force it down to the
ground. While all the moisture is still in the cloud, though, it acts as a sort of deflector for sunlight.
Each individual drop of water that is in a cloud catch the sunlight, and therefore the solar radiation,
and keep it from coming through to the earth. Clouds that are very bright have a lot of moisture in
them that is catching the sunlight and deflecting it back.
This deflection of sunlight, and more importantly the solar radiation, keeps the heat off of the earth.
This breaks up the constant bombarding of heat that comes from the sun that breaks down the
atmosphere. Basically, the more moisture that is up in the clouds, the more that it will cool the earth.
Because green phytoplankton release a chemical that brings more moisture into the clouds, they help
cool the earth by proxy.

Nitinol Lab Report
Introduction The purpose of this lab was to examine nitinol s, a nickel Titanium shape memory alloy,
solid phase transformations and behaviors, a shape memory alloy can be defined as a specific group of
metal alloys that can recover from a seemingly permanent strain by applying a certain amount of heat
to the substance. This occurs through a slight rearrangement of the atoms within the solid. The
structure of the austenite phase of nitinol is very rigid and perfectly aligned, whereas the martensite
phase is soft and can be deformed easily. Additionally this lab also explored identifying a set of
unknown wires by comparing calculated densities to known densities for each of the wires, estimating
the temperature when the transformation from the martensitic phase of nitinol to the austenitic phase
of nitinol occurs, retraining the nitinol wire to a new austenitic shape, and examining the acoustic
properties for nitinol in both the martensitic phase and austenitic phase through an online
investigation. Experimental ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Native American Transcultural Analysis
Transcultural Analysis of Native Americans and End of Life The profession of nursing is more than
caring for the physiological health of an individual. It also includes caring for their spiritual, mental,
and overall wellbeing. Nurses, and all health care workers, need to take into consideration a patient s
cultural preference in order to maintain their spiritual well being. This paper will address Native
American cultural considerations relating to end of life using the Giger and Davidhizar assessment
model as explained in chapter 4 of Sagar (2012) Transcultural Nursing Theory and Models:
Application in Nursing Education Practice, and Administration. It will overview the assessment
model, then apply it to death in the Native American culture as well as present nursing implications.
Giger and Davidhizar Transcultural Assessment Model The Giger and Davidhizar cultural assessment

nursing students providing care to more diverse patients (Sagar, 2012, p. 57). The model has six
cultural phenomena: biological variations, environmental control, time, social orientation, space, and
communication. These phenomena are the basis of the model and help guide nurses through important
cultural considerations.
Biological Variations Biological variations include physical traits. These traits include stature, skin,

The Effects Of Music On A Desert Island
The thought of being stranded on a desert island has never crossed my mind. If this tragic event should
happen, I know that I would probably be very agitated. Moreover, I would be soaked in fear and
confusion. The first thing I, like any person, would do is seek a source of peace and tranquility so that
I can think things through. For many people, music would be their soothing factor. However, if I were
stranded on a desert island, I would not be calmed by music. Until this day, I have not created an
emotional connection with music. It has never played a major role in my life and most likely never
will. Therefore, if I were stranded on a desert island, music would be of no significance to me.
A major reason for why music does not play a role in my life and would be of no benefit to me if I
were stranded on a desert island is because of my religion. My religion is Islam. In Islam, it is
preferred that people avoid listening to music. To be honest, I have listened to music several times in
my life, but in none of those instances have I created any sentimental or emotional connection to it.
The main reason for why my religion does not agree with music is because it is believed that anything
that withdraws a person from reality is considered to be a distraction. Within my religion, it is believed
that music takes a person away from reality. As a result, that person is lost in a dreamy state in which
her or she can forget that God is watching. In Islam, our

Joint Interview Pros And Cons Of Being Childless
Introduction to Results The recruiting phase of the study proved to be quite challenging. Initially the
researcher recruited couples that were childless. As a result, there was reluctance in terms of
participants coming forward to take part in the study. The first couple, who, participated in the study
consisted of a wife who wanted to share her story and a husband who supported her. After completing
the individual interviews, the couple declined to participate in the joint interview. The couple
struggled with being childless and although they found ways to compensate via careers, education and
caretaking of others, the disappointment with being unable to parent was profound. The wife
expressed such strong emotions and shared that discussing her infertility was a deep and powerful
experience for her. Through this interview, the researcher began to understand the emotional intensity
of this topic. It was an insightful and enriching interview experience. Following the interview with the

and connect them to the experience. He then tells the story of eating his first oyster, calling it the
proudest moment of my young life, he claims (398). He discusses how his family seemed disgusted by
the oyster, but he enjoyed it. Bourdain allows the reader to see this moment in his life in order to show

descriptive language to describe his experiences with food in order to give the audience a sensation of
what he experienced. Later on he appeals to the audience emotionally by comparing the experience of

What Age Should I Freeze My Eggs

What Age Should I Freeze My Eggs?
The short answer is the earlier the better. Studies show that banking eggs at an younger age increases
the likelihood of having a successful birth after. However, these studies also show that women who
bank their eggs earlier are less likely to use them, because they have more time to conceive naturally.
Keep in mind, these findings don t apply if you re freezing your eggs due to health issues that impact
your fertility directly.
So, what s the recommended age for egg freezing if you don t have any health threats?
It turns out there are two major age related factors that can help answer this question: egg quantity and
quality. For the best egg freezing results, you need to know at what ... Show more content on

Tolga Mesen found in his research that the highest probability of live birth 74% occurred when eggs
were frozen before 34 years of age. However, most doctors say that freezing your eggs before the age
of 37 is fine. This recommended age is when the quality and quantity of a woman s egg is still suitable
for egg freezing.
What if I m older than 37 years?
Good news: Women still conceive naturally at this age.
The CDC reports that nearly 120,000 women in their 40s give a birth every year in the United States,
with only 9% of these births resulting from IVF.
However, at some point in their 40s, women experience Diminished Ovarian Reserve. This means that
women no longer have healthy eggs to fertilize naturally or retrieve for preservation. The condition
may occur at younger age due to disease or injury, but it most commonly occurs as a result of the
normal aging process.
Dr. Dominic Stoop suggests the ideal age for the egg freezing is 31 35. However, although eggs from
women in 36 40 years will result in fewer pregnancies because of lower egg quality, he adds that these
women may still benefit given the accelerated age related decline in fertility after the age of 40 years .
In other words, if you re 36 or older and you re not trying to conceive right now, you re more likely
achieve pregnancy success later if you freeze your eggs

Motivation In The Crucible
Arthur Miller wrote The Crucible , because he was petrified of being identified as a covert communist.
It was an act of desperation, The Crucible evokes a lethal brew of illicit sexuality, dread, and political
manipulation (New Yorker). While reading Charles W. Uphams he found the subject to write about;
Salem Witch Trials. In 1952, Miller went to Salem to read the transcripts for The Crucible . Before all
of this transpired Miller worked two years in an automobile parts warehouse. Then, he attended the
University of Michigan, where he studied journalism, and playwright s (History). Miller wrote for the
student paper, and completed his very first play named No Villain . After, college he moved back East
to begin his playwright career. Wringing plays such as The Man who had all the Luck , All my Sons ,
and Death of a Salesman . Which helped his playwright career in many ways (Gradesaver). The
Crucible was intended to be an allegation of McCarthyism. Which was inspired by the McCarthy
bearing of the 1950s. This was a widespread social, and cultural phenomenon. It affected all levels of
society, and was the source of a great deal of depression. Moreover, this was believed to be one of the
reasons why Miller came under the committee s scrutiny. This hunt was very unfortunate on writers,
and entertainers. Many were labeled as communist sympathizers (PBS.ORG). Some were put in jail
while others had their passports taken away. Those who were accused of communist

There are various questions that have arisen regarding the introduction of driverless vehicles, its

automakers have announced the emergence of driverless vehicles that boost of the functionality
without any need of drivers (Chopra). The driverless vehicles are fully autonomous cars that can not

The autonomous cars would also reduce the emissions of carbon dioxide, that was previously
estimated as 300 million tons every year. Because the autonomous cars will do most of the things
related to driving, so the passenger or driver can make out for most of the time in the vehicle (Lane).
Due to the reduction in traffic congestion, it would also be easy to reach the destination from the
source within less time. Thus, it could be understood that driverless vehicles would nearly save 1
billion hours once the autonomous cars would be available in the road. There would be increase in
safety and lesser traffic as well, which could determine the optimum road to reach the destination as
well as spread the demand for empty or lack of space in roads (David 62 71).
Addressing the opposite side
Though there are various benefits, there are few risks associated with the driverless cars too such as
failure of sensor that can make the brakes of the cars fail, cyber attacks and failure or inaccurate
functioning of the software used in the vehicles. The insurances related to motor would not be able to
insure the drivers, rather could insure the risks that were related to the driverless cars. While making

Chinese Culture And Cultural Differences In Hong Kong
If I was assigned a position in Hong Kong, the first step would be to learn or improve in the native
language. English and Mandarin are considered to be the two official languages in Hong Kong,
therefore, I will be at a great advantage since business in Hong Kong is preferably conducted in
English. Still, I feel that it would be appropriate for me to be familiar with basic phrases and words in
Cantonese, which is widely spoken by residents. In business, communication is crucial and being that
I am from a different culture and country, it s obvious that misunderstandings can take place, which as
a result can make my assignment dreadful. This is why I would also make it my priority to do
extensive research on Hong Kong and Asia, to learn and understand the cultural differences and
customs that take place in Asian businesses, which can include authority, office relationships, privacy,
uniform or dress code and even the personal status of employees... For example, in Hong Kong, and
many other Asian countries, greetings are made by bowing or with a handshake. Elders and those in
high positions are usually greeted first and tend to not bow in return. Some may deem this
disrespectful, but in many Asian countries, it s the norm. On the other hand, bowing in America is
unheard of (unless the businesses involved have an Asian background) and a firm handshake is
enough. Although people tend to first shake hands with those in higher power, regardless of status or

Electricity Is Generated From The Energy
HYDROFUEL CELLS
Abstract: Electricity is generated from the energy; we get, by the burning of fossil fuels, where the
fuel can be stored and used when needed according to the immediate energy requirements. Hence it is
speaking to a concentrated and stable type of energy. On the opposite side, we have some irregular
types of energy, for example, wind, wave, tidal and sunlight based. These can t be put away and must
be utilized according to accessibility; generally their energy possibilities are lost. For the usage of
these energy sources, there is a need to convert this energy into suitable forms for storage. For this
Hydrofuel Cells are one of the best way to create and store energy as they possess many positive
qualities such as renewable, environment friendly, readily available elements for electricity generation
etc. Here it is discussed about the working of Hydrofuel cells, advantages and disadvantages and lots

A Model Of Sustained Economic Growth
WRITE UP(DRAFT)
The intention is to develop a model where sustained economic growth is the product of the alternation
of numerous agents and this literature will provide insights to reasons for variations in Gdp growth
during the recessionary period(2008 2013) in Europe while investigating the optimising agents which
had significant impact on Gdp growth rate. The Solow growth(1956) hypothesis looked for the
determinants of sustainable economic development in per capita gross domestic product. The model
recognized three principal drivers of long term development ie: Increase in collection of capital stock,
Technological Innovation and rise in quality of labour force (Kibritcioglu and Dibooglu,2001) .

Advocates of Agricultural led development argue that investment in agriculture and the
complementary growth in the creation of structures and foundations in various zones is vital for
national economic advancement (Schultz, 1964; Timmer, 1995, 2002). These investigators observe
that improvement in the cultivating division could be a stimulus for growth in national output by its
effect on rural wages and acquirement of benefits for change into an industrialized economy (
Dowrick and Gemmell, 1991; Datt, and Ravallion, 1998; Thirtle, Lin, and Piesse, 2003). Earlier
endeavors by different developing countries to industrialize their economy without earlier
advancement of the farming part brought about bleak financial development rates and exceptionally
skewed wage dispersion (Bhagwati and Srinivasan, 1975).

Those of my generation may favor Baker and Pertwee. All true fans inherently agree to accept change.
The return of a classic Doctor
Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker
There was no doubt Capaldi found inspiration from classic Doctor Who, specifically the first four
incarnations. Over the course of season eight, I was personally reminded of both Jon Pertwee and Tom
Baker s Doctors. However, it looks as though we will truly see him become a classic Doctor Who in
season 9.
Capaldi s Doctor is a bit cold and distant, much like William Hartnell s First Doctor. He needs Clara
Oswald much like the First Doctor needed his granddaughter Susan. This Doctor has been described
as abrasive, patronising, and cantankerous all of which can also be said of the Twelfth Doctor.
Patrick Troughton s Second Doctor may have the least influence inspiring this new version, but the

a bit of a fool to get his enemies to underestimate him. We certainly saw some of that in the opening

Health Benefits Of A Free Diet
Many people say they are going Gluten Free . This means that the person is transitioning to a diet
where they do not eat gluten. By doing this, they are excluding wheat, barley, rye and possibly oats
from their diet. Gluten is a protein that is not crucial to being an overall healthy person. (4) The Gluten
Free Diet was created for those who have medical reasons to not eat gluten. Medical reasons could be
celiac disease, wheat allergies, gluten sensitivity, dermatitis herpetiformis, ataxia and other

the diet is being used by those who do not have a practical medical reason to be practicing this diet.
The Gluten Free Diet rose in popularity when some research was introduced, that is still being

ADD and Ritalin
Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a problem that affects 5% to 10% of all children. ADD affects
more children than any other childhood problems except asthma. It is estimated to be the largest single
cause for first referrals to child guidance clinics throughout the country, making up as many as 40% of
those cases. Many ADD cases are not diagnosed because the problem most often does not show in the
doctor s office.
Current estimates suggest that approximately 50 to 65% of the children with ADD will have
symptoms of the disorder as adolescents and adults.

Neurotransmitters provide the connection between one nerve cell and another. It is also now suspected
that people with Attention Deficit Disorder have a chemical imbalance of a class of neurotransmitter
called catecholamine. Dopamine, helps to form a pathway between the motor center of the midbrain
and the frontal lobes, as well as a pathway between the limbic system and the frontal lobes. Without
enough dopamine and related catecholamine, such as serotonin and norepinephrine, the frontal lobes
are under stimulated and thus unable to perform their complex functions efficiently.
Attention Deficit Disorder is primarily considered a genetic disorder. Which is why it is labeled an
axis two in the DSM IV. Studies show that 20 30% of all hyperactive children have at least one parent
with ADD. However, not all cases of ADD are genetically linked. Some studies show that smoking,
drinking alcohol, and using drugs during pregnancy, influenced a small percentage of ADD cases.
Exposure to toxins, such as lead, may also alter the brain chemistry and function. Both of these issues

The Second Language By Vivian Cook
Summary
Acquisition of an L2 (second language), has always been an important issue in the field of linguistics,
and its relationship with an L1 (First language) is what concerns Vivian Cook in the chapter called
The relationship between first and second language learning revisited .
In the chapter the author argues that the relationship between both L1 and L2, defines the second
language. That is why SLA (Second Language Acquisition) research has taken ideas and research
techniques from L1 research such as the independent grammar assumption, which claims that the child
s language, constitutes an independent system of its own, and is not a poor version of the adult s one.
And techniques, being the most obviously borrowed those ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These arguments are the ones that made me meditate the most, because they are there in front of
everyone, yet, I was never able to see them. For instance, when Cook claims that The L2 learner
already has at least one other language in his mind; the initial language state of his mind is in principle
different from the L1 child, because of the first language... This first language has already taken a
place in the mind of the learner, so it is harder for the L2 to get without any

Malachite Research Paper
Malachite was broken down into small pieces and mixed with charcoal as a fuel in a fire, which was in
a shallow pit or on the ground.
This generated temperatures of over 700 degrees Celsius. This temperature was sufficient in
separating the copper from the rock, however it could not reach a truly molten state.
After a period of time, the reaming copper was gathered.
This copper was then worked cold. Until the development of smelters which could get the copper to a
truly molten state.
This molten copper was then moulded into the desired shape.
The malachite is heated to create copper oxide with the release of carbon dioxide.
The copper oxide is then heated with carbon to get copper
This copper is not pure enough to be used ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This copper can then be smelted and worked into shape at a molten consistency.
CuCO3xCu(OH)2 → 2 CuO + CO2 + H2O
The copper oxide is heated along with carbon.
2 CuO + C → 2 Cu + CO Cu2CO3(OH)2 2CuO + CO2 + H2O
2CuO + C 2Cu + CO2
Both the modern and ancient way of extracting copper from malachite involves the heating of the
malachite with a form of carbon (pure carbon and Charcoal). The carbon involved is more reactive
than the copper and a displacement reaction occurs, this happens in both methods; however the
ancient method could not see the copper meet a truly molten state for some time, whilst the modern
method can.
The difference between the ancient technique and modern technique to extract copper from malachite
is prominent after the heating stage. The ancient peoples just worked the impure copper when It was
cold after it had been heated, which was very difficult and time consuming. Whilst the modern peoples
go a step further and use electrolysis after it has been heated to form a near perfectly pure sample of
copper. The copper is then smelted so it can be moulded into its desired shape. The main reason for
the difference in technique and result is the technology and knowledge difference in each time period.
The modern people have greater technology and knowledge and can therefor get a purer sample of

Corporations and Health Insurance vs. White Collar American.
Corporations and Health Insurance vs. White Collar American.
A well educated man who is a husband and a father receives a job with good benefits. It is standard
that when you begin working at a job with benefits, there is a ninety day waiting period for the
insurance to become effective. By this time the employee had been employed for six months and one
day his young son goes in for a check up and the child was diagnosed with leukemia. All the sudden
now you have someone that has a catastrophic illness. Medical billings are through the roof easily
costing thirty thousand dollars a day in the hospital. Because your job offers benefits there is no
privacy with the health insurance because your employer receives all medical billings ... Show more

This can cause individuals to be targeted for high medical billings. Without a job and health insurance
it is impossible to pay the medical bills. The family found it only financially reasonable to get a
divorce to supply the child his medical needs. Where does the blame lie? I believe the blame lies with
corporate greed because a corporation is defined as a profit making institution. Therefore if an
individual is costing the company more money than what they are worth the company will terminate
the employee. The insurance company is releasing medical information to the corporation on
employees and their family members. Because of the insurance company doing so, the corporation
terminated the employee and he was unable to get another job and to insure his family. Corporations
have too much access to their employee s medical situations.
What is the solution? Although this child s medical bills were outrageously expensive, the corporation
should not have the authority to terminate the employee. So to solve this the FMLA should begin
when insurance becomes effective. So when a situation occurs like my example, the family is not left
with the burden of losing a job, losing health insurance, and breaking up their home in order to keep
their family out of a financial burden. Insurance should be based on classifications for the entire state
and that no one individual should or can be targeted as causing the increase of premiums to any one
individual

Treatment From Expert Opinions And Case Reports
TREATMENT LEVEL OF EVIDENCE 5 Most of the information we have about PDAP treatment
comes from expert opinions and case reports. Few authors proposed treatment flow charts, based on
the moderate evidence that PDAP represents a neuropathic pain condition. However, these treatment
approaches have never been tested through an experimental study in a PDAP population. Baad Hansen
et al., in a literature review published in 2008, proposed the following stepped treatment: start with
patient education about their condition as it is necessary to avoid further unnecessary treatments. Treat
initially with topical medications (authors suggest capsaicin or lidocaine) because of limited side
effects and safer profile. If pain does not resolve, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From our clinical expertise, we discourage the use of opioids, for the potential risk of opioid induced
hyperalgesia (64), dependency and possible addiction (65). Nixdorf et al., suggest to follow the NICE
guidelines (National Institute of Health Care and Excellence) for the treatment of peripheral
neuropathic pain: oral medications, topical when practical and avoid irreversible treatments that
involve local injury (29). We also found treatment suggestions that still need to be tested in PDAP
patients to reach a higher level of evidence. Several authors agree that it is necessary to avoid
unnecessary treatments as they do not have positive outcomes and they may even worsen the pain (38)
(44) (58). Invasive treatments create higher stress to an already dysfunctional nervous system and this
has been observed to increase pain in PDAP patients (66). Ram et al., report that in their clinical
practice they test patients for local anesthetic response in order to decide for a more central or
peripheral therapy (3). This approach can be promising and it is supported by evidence in the literature
of different levels of central and peripheral sensitization in different patients (34) (37). However, it
needs to be tested before arguing its effectiveness. Baad Hansen et al., point out that the treatment
strategy should be flexible, taking into account

Epistle To Cangrande By Dante Alighieri
Dante Alighieri was an Italian poet in the late Middle Ages; he developed a theory or method for
interpreting novels and poetry in his Epistle to Cangrande. The theory is referred to as Dante s Theory.
Readers can use the theory to gain a better understanding of any story. The theory has four levels with
the first being the literal or historical level. This level is what readers learn on the surface of the story,
information of real historical or geographical events. The second level contains political insight. The
political level displays how humans relate to others and how the connections between members of a
group, community, or society are affected. The third level shifts into the moral or psychological aspect
of novels; the characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With humans constantly interacting, readers can acquire an understanding of how humans relate to
others and how an individual s community affects his or her actions. The Tortilla Curtain
acknowledges the way one group of people reacts to another group. Delaney wanted to be accepting of
the Mexican immigrants until he actually had to interacted with one in Candido; he then fell back into
the way his people felt about Candido s people. After examining the novel on a political level readers
learn that humans are greedy and protective; Delaney s community didn t want to share anything with
Candido s community. They built a wall to keep the immigrants out of their community. They also
demolished the labor exchange to stop immigrants from being able to find work claiming it was an
experiment that didn t work (Boyles 192). Ceremony exhibited the political level of interpretation in
the sense that Native Americans have a collective conscious and white people simply don t understand
it. Silko touches again on how one group interacts with another group when Tayo is finding his place;
he isn t fully accepted by Natives because he is half white and he isn t accepted by whites because his
is half Native. Emo s hatred for Tayo results directly from the fact that Tayo is not fully Native, he s
only half. Silko also demonstrated the way white people mistreat the Native Americans and
misunderstand the Native ceremonies and events. Old Betonie explains that the Gallup Ceremonies,
organized by the white people, are good for the tourist business but they are for entertainment only
(116). The white people simply don t understand the point of the ceremonies so they use the
ceremonies to their advantage. Readers can begin to understand that each group in society thinks just a
little differently than another group. Understanding other communities or societies becomes

Marcus Going To The Theater Play Analysis
Theater performances in antiquity were typically dedicated to a pagan god or goddess, and the plays
often ran as part of larger public religious festivals. Scenes portraying blatant immorality were
commonplace. All this proved rather troubling to the early church. Christian leaders, such as
Tertullian, spoke out in opposition to the idea of believers going to the theater: Why is it right to look
on what it is disgraceful to do? How is it that the things which defile a man in going out of his mouth,
are not regarded as doing so when they go in at this eyes and ears when eyes and ears are the
immediate attendants of the spirit? You have the theater forbidden, then, in the forbidding of
immodesty. Thus, when an actor converted to Christ in third century ... Show more content on

Our new convert now faced an economic dilemma, however, since he was no longer gainfully
employed. So, instead of acting, Marcus opened an acting school. This apparently created quite a stir
among Marcus s fellow Christians, and the surviving letters exchanged by his pastor and the church s
bishop paint a portrait of the church truly living out its strong group family values. Marcus s pastor,
Eucratius, naturally wondered how it could be acceptable for Marcus to teach others what he himself
was forbidden to do. Yet Marcus had already made a tremendous sacrifice to follow Jesus. So
Eucratius wrote to his spiritual mentor, Cyprian of Carthage, to ask whether such a man ought to
remain in communion with us. Cyprian s reaction to Marcus was unequivocal: It is not in keeping with
the reverence due to the majesty of God and with the observance of the gospel teachings for the honor
and respect of the church to be polluted by contamination at once so degraded and so scandalous. No
compromise. No drama teaching. Marcus must either leave the church or quit his job again. Marcus s
story has the strong group, surrogate family [character] written all over it. It is Cyprian s conviction
that the honor and respect of the church must take priority over Marcus and his acting academy.
Marcus, on his part, finds himself answering to the church for his whole vocational and financial

God s Mercy, Compassion, Patience And Love For Those Who...
Purpose
The Book of Judges bares witness to the simpleness of humans and sets forth God s mercy,
compassion, longsuffering, patience and love for His people no matter how depraved they may be.
Along with the aforementioned purposes, one of the main aims of Judges was to demonstrate divine
judgment of the apostasy of Israel. Israel s continual disobedience to God and worship of Canaanite
gods resulted in their failure to experience divine blessing in the full conquest of her enemies.
Canaanite influence in moral and social areas lead to the apostasy and anarchy of Israel. Therefore, the
oppressors pictured and the powers of this world sought and still seek to bring people into bondage.
Judges acts as a warning to those who turn away from God to idol worship.
Author
Though the author of the Book of Judges in unknown, internal evidence suggests that it was written
during the early days of the monarchy after the coronation of King Saul, but before the conquest of
Jerusalem by king David. For example, the phrase, there was no king in Israel, is repeated four times
toward the end of the book (Jdg 17:6; 18:1; 19:1; 21:25). It evidently looks backward to when Israel
did have a king. Secondly, in chapter one verse twenty one , we re told that the Jebusites are still living
in Jerusalem. Apparently, that must have been written before King David s conquest to the city (2
Sam. 5:6 7). Lastly, the reference to Canaanites in Gezer (Jdg 1:29) suggests a date before the time the

Essay on Biblical Allusions in Lord of the Flies
Biblical Allusions in Lord of the Flies
In the story, Lord of the Flies, there are many biblical allusions; Simon represents Jesus, the pig s head
represents Satan or rather their satanic sides, Jack represents Judas, and the island represents the
Garden of Eden. Through out this novel these allusions play large parts in the story and ideals place in
the story.
Simon, one of the major characters in the story, is set as the allusion of Jesus. Christ always had an
affinity with children; in Ch. 4, he shows his way with the littluns by picking fruit for them. This
shows his goodness by nature. Also, like Christ, he saw the atavistic problem of the hunters and tried
to bring them back to good. As in the bible, Simon, like Christ, dies ... Show more content on

The Pig s head, dubbed Lord of the Flies and as one of Satan s names is Beelzebub (Mt. 12:24) which
means Lord of the flies. shows that the pigs head represents Satan. When Simon goes off to meditate
he is confronted with the pig s head, as Jesus was confronted with Satan when he left for forty days
and forty nights. Simon s talk with the Lord of the Flies is akin to Christ s temptation by Satan. In the
New Testament, Satan tells Christ not to kill himself for us but to enjoy life and power. Simon is told
that if he doesn t run off and play , the hunters and the Lord of the Flies will do you in.
Jack, one of the lead characters in the novel, alludes to the biblical figure Judas for his betrayal to the
good of the people brought forth by Jesus. Jack is the reason Simon is killed, for he betrayed Ralph s
rules and brought forth the evil within the children s minds. Jack refuses Ralph s ideas and regulations
in trade for fun and hunting. This shows his betrayal to the good of man and his want to bring evil
forth to the island.
The island, in the novel, represents the Garden of Eden. In particular Simon s little hideout can be
related to the garden of Eden as that what was once beautiful becomes terrifying with the pig s head
being placed in the centre of his hideout. The island that was once lovely, seeming like paradise,
becomes burnt by the end of the novel, like dead wood,

The purpose of this chapter is to present the data collected from both research methods, give analyses
the data and discuss the result.
4.2 THE FINDINGS AND DATAANALYSIS FROM INTERVIEWS
The interviews involved four teachers, two from private secondary schools while the other two were
of public schools. Two teachers taught ICT in their respective schools, one taught chemistry and the
last taught mathematics respectively. The interview took place from 3rd to 11th November 2014. The
details of the interview can be seen in Appendix B, C, D, E.
From the interview, everyone that participated seems to have confidence with the use of ICTs
infrastructure. According to every participant, they own a personal computer (PC) and have access to
internet at home either via the use of the mobile data or access to a network modem. All the teachers
said that they surf the internet at least an hour per day and at least four days a week to search for

The Importance Of Income For Professional Baseball Players Research was made in order to persuade the readers of how professional baseball players in today s society deserve the income they are receiving. Possessing the ability to play at a professional level is what makes these men truly worthy of their income. Considerable Income for Professional Baseball Players The average salary of a professional baseball player has been increased substantially throughout the past decades; a player today makes exceedingly more than they used to. Baseball is different from other sports due to the mental aspect of the game making it one of the hardest sports as a professional athlete. The uphill battle to become a professional at the sport of baseball is near impossible as talent is more frequent throughout the globe. Some argue whether baseball is a beneficial career to the community as other professions including firefighters, fireman, policeman, and nurses deserve the admiration more than a professional baseball player. Good ball players are always in demand throughout the league. MLB players are highly skilled athletes thus earning them the right to such a high income as they bring value to the organization and have put in dedicated hours of hard work, dedication, and practice throughout all levels of play. Consistency is what makes an average player an all star especially for Giancarlo Stanton of the Miami Marlins. Giancarlo racked up 59 home runs in the 2017 season. • 3. Analysis Of The Secret Life Of Bees There is nothing perfect, August said from the doorway. There is only life (Kidd 256). This quote from The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd explains Lily Owens life, a young girl with an unloving father and a mother who abandoned her and was later shot and killed by her own daughter, Lily. Lily has a hard time finding her place in the world and understanding why her life is the way it is. She decides it is time for her to take charge of her own life. She finds herself in Tiburon, South Carolina with her nanny Rosaleen and three black women, August, June and May who unravel the story to her mother s past. Lily s story can be seen in different layers, the most significant layers are the religious, thematic and symbolic layers. These three layers are essential when trying to gain understanding of The Secret Life of Bees. In The Secret Life of bees you can learn a lot from the thematic layer. Three salient themes in this layer are forgiveness, hope and strength. Hope is shown when Zach talks to Lily about becoming a lawyer one day, I ve just never heard of a Negro lawyer, that s all. You ve got to hear of these things before you can imagine them Bullshit. You gotta imagine what s never been (Kidd 121). Zach has hope that one day he will become a lawyer despite his skin color and what everyone else says about it. He doesn t give up because of what society thinks, he stays hopeful. • 5. Globalization and Starbucks Coffee GLOBALIZATION AND STARBUCKS COFFEE A. ANALYSIS 1. According to the text, there are three levels that political risk encompasses. And they are firm specific, country specific and global specific risks. Starbucks is considered a thriving global enterprise. Although Starbucks has successfully entered, penetrated, and saturated many global markets, not all attempts have been successful. Starting in 1996, Starbucks has hastily moved into 41 countries fruitfully. However, Starbucks had to pull out of Israel market after opening only 6 stores. According to our research (Richey, Brenda, July 2006), the following will describe Starbucks unsuccessful venture into Israel; the four main contributors to Starbucks failure in Israel: politics, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Starbucks removed themselves from Israel in April 2003, they stated that it was due to operational challenges and not the current economic and political status in the Middle East (Coussin, n.d.). Starbucks was probably just trying to save their reputation by making this comment and did not want to sound offensive. Globalization is an invented term used to show a combination between the local and global approaches. In theory, they maintain the main features of the brand, but they modify it to meet the local cultures needs. Starbucks should have looked at KFC s failure entering is Israel as an example of what not to do. KFC did not realize that the slaughtering of chicken in Israel was totally different from other countries. On top of that, they were a kosher society that did not eat pork, so KFC attempted to adapt their pig gelatin chicken coating. A successful example that Starbucks should have followed was McDonald s success in Israel. McDonalds understood that in Israel food was very important and they needed to adjust food preparation in order to be embraced. They decided to grill their hamburgers instead of frying them (Coussin, n.d.). Starbucks didn t manage to adapt themselves to the regional coffee culture. Starbucks did not modify any of their existing beverages, food products, or pricing. They should have introduced unique food items like falafels, blintzes, and mandelbrot (Thompson, 2006). Global ... • 6. What Are The Misrepresentation Of African Americans The media often paints a picture of certain groups that may not be accurate for example, African Americans in the media are portrayed as criminals, drug addicts, or misogynist which also includes African American women are viewed as abrasive and promiscuous. While there are millions of responsible and respectable African Americans. They are not celebrated in the media. What the community sees are instead are thing in movies and on TV. This changes the general perception of African Americans and cause people to assume they are violent and are a burdened to society. During the pinnacle of segregation through the 1900s, African Americans were rarely portrayed on screen and when they were portrayed in satirical ways, it was with white actors in blackface. This is a great example of the misrepresentation of an entire community by those in power. In February 1915, a movie was released called birth of a nation which was based on Thomas Dixon Jr. novel the clansman. The film depicts the Ku Klux Klan as heroes and the villains were portrayed by white actors in black face. The film was basically trying to justify racism and imply that the white hooded, figures where protecting the white race because African males were trying to sexually ravage the white women this portrayal of African American male was known as a bucks. Despite the very clear prejudice in the film it was a major success and was the first ever major motion picture shown in the White House to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Kanye West s New Album Kanye West s new album is soon upon us and fans have high hopes. Apparently, it will not only be the album of the year but the album of the life. For a self proclaimed God, this might not be the craziest statement to make. Of course, Ye s claim of divinity is dubious at best. As a human being, Kanye has consistently released commercially successful and critically acclaimed albums. Will the new release be the best album of the life or just pretty good? Could it even be a rare misstep for Kanye? We will find out soon enough. In the meantime, let us take a look back at Kanye s storied musical career. The following list will examine one song from each of Kanye s major solo album releases. 1. Through the Wire Year: 2004 Album: The College Dropout Notable line: And I still won t grow up, I m a grown ass kid. Through the Wire symbolizes Kanye s transition from a producer with a dream to legitimate MC. The track opens with a pitched up Chaka Kahn sample, Through the Fire, alongside a lively beat. On the track Kanye is literally rapping through the wire. The rapper s jaw was wired shut after a horrific traffic accident in 2003. Recorded while Kanye recovered, the song represented something new for hip hop. It is a clever and funny song chock full of cultural references. The production is soulful and complex. Kanye set himself up us as a figure between worlds. He was a new kind of rapper that looked forward, but also respected the past. Jesus Walks may have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What feedback might you receive from an external supplier in contrast to the feedback you might expect from a member of your workgroup? What will influence the quality and how will the feedback from these sources be related to an assessment of your skills gap? Feedback from these sources can be used to assess performance and to indicate skills gaps or training requirements. Feedback from external clients or customers might indicate a need for customer service training. Feedback from your peers might indicate a need for conflict management, or negotiation training. Specific technological skills needs might be pinpointed. The quality is influenced by the way you engage with the person providing the feedback. You should accept that feedback is likely to be honest and not react defensively otherwise the person providing the feedback will become disinterested and the quality will deteriorate. Any shortcomings in skills will easily be identified when someone provides opinion on how you might have handled a situation or opportunity better. 6. Why is it important for you to take responsibility for your own work tasks and ensure that you are getting feedback to fulfil your role? • 11. The Holy Spirit Of The Ark Remember, I told you the Rapture is a type of ark. The first time God used an ark was to save people that believed in Him from the destruction of water. The second time will be to save the faithful from the destruction of fire with the ark of rapture by a Bridegroom. It has never been God s method in the past to pour wrath out on believers! Noah and his family went inside of the ark seven days before the flood. The ark was a covering like a huppa, which is symbolic of heaven. The church will be raptured away just like an ancient Jewish bride would have been. The Holy Spirit fell on the church at Pentecost after Jesus returned to His Father s house. The Holy Spirit is the Comforter that Jesus promised would come after His Ascension. The Holy Spirit manifested within the body of the church, and it is the current restrainer of the antichrist. A spirit needs a body to manifest itself in, and when the Holy Spirit filled church is gone, Satan, who is a spirit, will be able to take over inside of the antichrist. The apostle Paul tells us this in 2Thessalonians 2:7 NASB, For the mystery of lawlessness is already at work; only he who now restrains will do so until he is taken out of the way. *** No one knows the hour, but people have tried to set dates for Jesus return. Essential parts of the entire group s contribution are that the group contains full participating members, the group is diverse, and that the diversity is recognized and respected (Hartley, 1997). In the videos viewed, three were evaluated on the effective and ineffective communication skills of the participants and suggestions made on how they could improve. Annie To address the verbal and nonverbal interaction among the members of a group the video titled Annie best illustrates this. In the video there is clearly both listening and miscommunication going on. The setting of this video is that the title character, Annie is a high school girl, who seems to be suffering from a possible eating disorder as well as depression (Understanding Relationship Helping Annie, 2008). A nurse from a school has called upon a meeting with a psychiatrist and a social worker to seek out a possible treatment plan for Annie. Despair In A Clean Well-Lighted Place Mallory Cox Period 3 12/17/2015 Comp 1 Despair, Loneliness, and Nothingness In Ernest Hemingway s A Clean, Well Lighted Place he uses the struggle of dealing with despair to show the hardships that the characters are facing. The old man that the waiter s guess is about 80 years old has attempted in many ways to deal with despair. He had a wife, but he does not anymore. He has money, but the money is enough to deal with what he is feeling. The older waiter also knows that the old man has attempted suicide. The mans niece saved him from committing suicide, which once again does not save him from the despair that he is feeling. In the beginning of the short story the younger waiter and the older waiter are watching an older deaf man. They conclude that the older man likes the night time, but the younger waiter does not get what the older waiter and the man understand and feel about night time. The older man that sits under the shadows coming from a tree taps his glass to the saucer on his table indicating that he wants more. He asks for Brandy. The servers watch him carefully because they know that if he gets too drunk, he will not pay. The younger waiter is happy, young, and confident. • 16. The Battle Of Creationism And Evolutionary Theory The battle of creationism and evolutionary theory is not a new one. That being said, in order to understand whether creationism has a place in secondary education, one must first understand the complexity of the matter. Evolution in itself is a theory proposed by Charles Darwin in 1859. Grossly simplified, the theory states that life evolved from non life; the concept of descent with modification. This theory arouses conflict because many Christians believe that it negates the literal interpretation of the biblical creation story. It is from this story that the theory of creationism began. While some may argue that creationism deserves to be taught alongside evolutionary theory within the science curriculum of secondary schools of a municipality or state, these individuals are mistaken. Creationism is not a science, therefore by teaching it one violates the first amendment and also further develops the religious inequality that its supporters argue teaching it creates. There is no place for creationism in the science curriculum within secondary public education. To begin, the idea that creationism is a science is a troublesome one in itself. This paper will provide insight into railroad, a key event that assisted in igniting more passion toward ending slavery, a couple of key players, the routes and the final destinations of the passengers of the railroad. During the time of slavery, networks of places to meet to escort slaves to freedom were created to move them up north. These networks being to materialize in the early 1800 s. The meeting places were secret in nature and were later given the term Underground Railroad. The railroad would begin in the south and end in the northern states and Canada. The railroad assisted, by estimation, over one hundred thousand slaves to freedom. (Curtis, 1941) The action of assisting the slaves was illegal during this time but they were assisted by good people called abolitionist. (Blackett, 2013) Abolitionists were men and women who believed that everyone should be equal. The movement was an effort to abolish slavery. There was one name that is not mentioned an often but who was very important to the movement and his name was Dred Scott. Events that occurred in his life added a spark to the controversial attitude toward slavery that would change history Dred Scott was born in 1795 in Virginia into slavery. While all the moisture is still in the cloud, though, it acts as a sort of deflector for sunlight. Each individual drop of water that is in a cloud catch the sunlight, and therefore the solar radiation, and keep it from coming through to the earth. Clouds that are very bright have a lot of moisture in them that is catching the sunlight and deflecting it back. This deflection of sunlight, and more importantly the solar radiation, keeps the heat off of the earth. This breaks up the constant bombarding of heat that comes from the sun that breaks down the atmosphere. Basically, the more moisture that is up in the clouds, the more that it will cool the earth. This occurs through a slight rearrangement of the atoms within the solid. The structure of the austenite phase of nitinol is very rigid and perfectly aligned, whereas the martensite phase is soft and can be deformed easily. Additionally this lab also explored identifying a set of unknown wires by comparing calculated densities to known densities for each of the wires, estimating the temperature when the transformation from the martensitic phase of nitinol to the austenitic phase of nitinol occurs, retraining the nitinol wire to a new austenitic shape, and examining the acoustic properties for nitinol in both the martensitic phase and austenitic phase through an online investigation. If this tragic event should happen, I know that I would probably be very agitated. Moreover, I would be soaked in fear and confusion. The first thing I, like any person, would do is seek a source of peace and tranquility so that I can think things through. For many people, music would be their soothing factor. However, if I were stranded on a desert island, I would not be calmed by music. Until this day, I have not created an emotional connection with music. It has never played a major role in my life and most likely never will. Therefore, if I were stranded on a desert island, music would be of no significance to me. A major reason for why music does not play a role in my life and would be of no benefit to me if I were stranded on a desert island is because of my religion. My religion is Islam. In Islam, it is preferred that people avoid listening to music. To be honest, I have listened to music several times in my life, but in none of those instances have I created any sentimental or emotional connection to it. The main reason for why my religion does not agree with music is because it is believed that anything that withdraws a person from reality is considered to be a distraction. Keep in mind, these findings don t apply if you re freezing your eggs due to health issues that impact your fertility directly. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Tolga Mesen found in his research that the highest probability of live birth 74% occurred when eggs were frozen before 34 years of age. However, most doctors say that freezing your eggs before the age of 37 is fine. This recommended age is when the quality and quantity of a woman s egg is still suitable for egg freezing. What if I m older than 37 years? Good news: Women still conceive naturally at this age. The CDC reports that nearly 120,000 women in their 40s give a birth every year in the United States, with only 9% of these births resulting from IVF. However, at some point in their 40s, women experience Diminished Ovarian Reserve. This means that women no longer have healthy eggs to fertilize naturally or retrieve for preservation. The condition may occur at younger age due to disease or injury, but it most commonly occurs as a result of the normal aging process. Dr. Dominic Stoop suggests the ideal age for the egg freezing is 31 35. However, although eggs from women in 36 40 years will result in fewer pregnancies because of lower egg quality, he adds that these women may still benefit given the accelerated age related decline in fertility after the age of 40 years . In other words, if you re 36 or older and you re not trying to conceive right now, you re more likely achieve pregnancy success later if you freeze your eggs

By doing this, they are excluding wheat, barley, rye and possibly oats from their diet. Gluten is a protein that is not crucial to being an overall healthy person. (4) The Gluten Free Diet was created for those who have medical reasons to not eat gluten. Medical reasons could be celiac disease, wheat allergies, gluten sensitivity, dermatitis herpetiformis, ataxia and other neurological manifestations, irritable bowel syndrome, and using gluten to treat autism. (4) However, the diet is being used by those who do not have a practical medical reason to be practicing this diet. The Gluten Free Diet rose in popularity when some research was introduced, that is still being continued, that questioned the health effects of not eating gluten. This argued that humans were never meant to properly digest gluten and naming the health benefits to adopting a Gluten Free Diet. In the past decade, the fame of the diet has increased significantly. The perception of the diet has shifted from being associated to eating rice cakes that tasted like Styrofoam and were very dry to the current Gluten Free Diet that is alleged to being tasty and healthy. With this perception change, the sales increased and the business boomed into a $1 billion dollar business and continues to grow. • 42. add and ritalin Essay ADD and Ritalin Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a problem that affects 5% to 10% of all children. ADD affects more children than any other childhood problems except asthma. It is estimated to be the largest single cause for first referrals to child guidance clinics throughout the country, making up as many as 40% of those cases. Many ADD cases are not diagnosed because the problem most often does not show in the doctor s office. Current estimates suggest that approximately 50 to 65% of the children with ADD will have symptoms of the disorder as adolescents and adults. In 1902, George Frederick Still believed the dilemma of the problem child was linked to a biological defect inherited from an injury at birth and not the result of ... It is also now suspected that people with Attention Deficit Disorder have a chemical imbalance of a class of neurotransmitter called catecholamine. Dopamine, helps to form a pathway between the motor center of the midbrain and the frontal lobes, as well as a pathway between the limbic system and the frontal lobes. Without enough dopamine and related catecholamine, such as serotonin and norepinephrine, the frontal lobes are under stimulated and thus unable to perform their complex functions efficiently. Attention Deficit Disorder is primarily considered a genetic disorder. Which is why it is labeled an axis two in the DSM IV. Studies show that 20 30% of all hyperactive children have at least one parent with ADD. However, not all cases of ADD are genetically linked. Some studies show that smoking, drinking alcohol, and using drugs during pregnancy, influenced a small percentage of ADD cases. Exposure to toxins, such as lead, may also alter the brain chemistry and function. Both of these issues are cause for concern for the at risk population. The Second Language By Vivian Cook Summary Acquisition of an L2 (second language), has always been an important issue in the field of linguistics, and its relationship with an L1 (First language) is what concerns Vivian Cook in the chapter called The relationship between first and second language learning revisited . In the chapter the author argues that the relationship between both L1 and L2, defines the second language. That is why SLA (Second Language Acquisition) research has taken ideas and research techniques from L1 research such as the independent grammar assumption, which claims that the child s language, constitutes an independent system of its own, and is not a poor version of the adult s one. This generated temperatures of over 700 degrees Celsius. This temperature was sufficient in separating the copper from the rock, however it could not reach a truly molten state. After a period of time, the reaming copper was gathered. This copper was then worked cold. Until the development of smelters which could get the copper to a truly molten state. The carbon involved is more reactive than the copper and a displacement reaction occurs, this happens in both methods; however the ancient method could not see the copper meet a truly molten state for some time, whilst the modern method can. The difference between the ancient technique and modern technique to extract copper from malachite is prominent after the heating stage. The ancient peoples just worked the impure copper when It was cold after it had been heated, which was very difficult and time consuming. Whilst the modern peoples go a step further and use electrolysis after it has been heated to form a near perfectly pure sample of copper. The copper is then smelted so it can be moulded into its desired shape. The main reason for the difference in technique and result is the technology and knowledge difference in each time period. A well educated man who is a husband and a father receives a job with good benefits. It is standard that when you begin working at a job with benefits, there is a ninety day waiting period for the insurance to become effective. By this time the employee had been employed for six months and one day his young son goes in for a check up and the child was diagnosed with leukemia. All the sudden now you have someone that has a catastrophic illness. Medical billings are through the roof easily costing thirty thousand dollars a day in the hospital. Because your job offers benefits there is no privacy with the health insurance because your employer receives all medical billings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This can cause individuals to be targeted for high medical billings. Without a job and health insurance it is impossible to pay the medical bills. The family found it only financially reasonable to get a divorce to supply the child his medical needs. Where does the blame lie? I believe the blame lies with corporate greed because a corporation is defined as a profit making institution. Therefore if an individual is costing the company more money than what they are worth the company will terminate the employee. The insurance company is releasing medical information to the corporation on employees and their family members. Because of the insurance company doing so, the corporation terminated the employee and he was unable to get another job and to insure his family. Corporations have too much access to their employee s medical situations. What is the solution? Although this child s medical bills were outrageously expensive, the corporation should not have the authority to terminate the employee. So to solve this the FMLA should begin when insurance becomes effective. So when a situation occurs like my example, the family is not left with the burden of losing a job, losing health insurance, and breaking up their home in order to keep their family out of a financial burden. Insurance should be based on classifications for the entire state and that no one individual should or can be targeted as causing the increase of premiums to any one individual ... Few authors proposed treatment flow charts, based on the moderate evidence that PDAP represents a neuropathic pain condition. However, these treatment approaches have never been tested through an experimental study in a PDAP population. Baad Hansen et al., in a literature review published in 2008, proposed the following stepped treatment: start with patient education about their condition as it is necessary to avoid further unnecessary treatments. Treat initially with topical medications (authors suggest capsaicin or lidocaine) because of limited side effects and safer profile. If pain does not resolve, ... We also found treatment suggestions that still need to be tested in PDAP patients to reach a higher level of evidence. Several authors agree that it is necessary to avoid unnecessary treatments as they do not have positive outcomes and they may even worsen the pain (38) (44) (58). Invasive treatments create higher stress to an already dysfunctional nervous system and this has been observed to increase pain in PDAP patients (66). Ram et al., report that in their clinical practice they test patients for local anesthetic response in order to decide for a more central or peripheral therapy (3). This approach can be promising and it is supported by evidence in the literature of different levels of central and peripheral sensitization in different patients (34) (37). However, it needs to be tested before arguing its effectiveness. Baad Hansen et al., point out that the treatment strategy should be flexible, taking into account ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This level is what readers learn on the surface of the story, information of real historical or geographical events. The second level contains political insight. After examining the novel on a political level readers learn that humans are greedy and protective; Delaney s community didn t want to share anything with Candido s community. They built a wall to keep the immigrants out of their community. They also demolished the labor exchange to stop immigrants from being able to find work claiming it was an experiment that didn t work (Boyles 192). Ceremony exhibited the political level of interpretation in the sense that Native Americans have a collective conscious and white people simply don t understand it. Silko touches again on how one group interacts with another group when Tayo is finding his place; he isn t fully accepted by Natives because he is half white and he isn t accepted by whites because his is half Native. Emo s hatred for Tayo results directly from the fact that Tayo is not fully Native, he s only half. • 50. Marcus Going To The Theater Play Analysis Theater performances in antiquity were typically dedicated to a pagan god or goddess, and the plays often ran as part of larger public religious festivals. Scenes portraying blatant immorality were commonplace. All this proved rather troubling to the early church. Christian leaders, such as Tertullian, spoke out in opposition to the idea of believers going to the theater: Why is it right to look on what it is disgraceful to do? How is it that the things which defile a man in going out of his mouth, are not regarded as doing so when they go in at this eyes and ears when eyes and ears are the immediate attendants of the spirit? Our new convert now faced an economic dilemma, however, since he was no longer gainfully employed. So, instead of acting, Marcus opened an acting school. This apparently created quite a stir among Marcus s fellow Christians, and the surviving letters exchanged by his pastor and the church s bishop paint a portrait of the church truly living out its strong group family values. Marcus s pastor, Eucratius, naturally wondered how it could be acceptable for Marcus to teach others what he himself was forbidden to do. Yet Marcus had already made a tremendous sacrifice to follow Jesus. So Eucratius wrote to his spiritual mentor, Cyprian of Carthage, to ask whether such a man ought to remain in communion with us. Cyprian s reaction to Marcus was unequivocal: It is not in keeping with the reverence due to the majesty of God and with the observance of the gospel teachings for the honor and respect of the church to be polluted by contamination at once so degraded and so scandalous. No compromise. No drama teaching. Marcus must either leave the church or quit his job again. Marcus s story has the strong group, surrogate family [character] written all over it. It is Cyprian s conviction that the honor and respect of the church must take priority over Marcus and his acting academy. • 51. God s Mercy, Compassion, Patience And Love For Those Who... Purpose The Book of Judges bares witness to the simpleness of humans and sets forth God s mercy, compassion, longsuffering, patience and love for His people no matter how depraved they may be. Along with the aforementioned purposes, one of the main aims of Judges was to demonstrate divine judgment of the apostasy of Israel. Israel s continual disobedience to God and worship of Canaanite gods resulted in their failure to experience divine blessing in the full conquest of her enemies. Canaanite influence in moral and social areas lead to the apostasy and anarchy of Israel. Therefore, the oppressors pictured and the powers of this world sought and still seek to bring people into bondage. Judges acts as a warning to those who turn away from God to idol worship. Author Though the author of the Book of Judges in unknown, internal evidence suggests that it was written during the early days of the monarchy after the coronation of King Saul, but before the conquest of Jerusalem by king David. For example, the phrase, there was no king in Israel, is repeated four times toward the end of the book (Jdg 17:6; 18:1; 19:1; 21:25). It evidently looks backward to when Israel did have a king. Secondly, in chapter one verse twenty one , we re told that the Jebusites are still living in Jerusalem. Apparently, that must have been written before King David s conquest to the city (2 Sam. 5:6 7). Lastly, the reference to Canaanites in Gezer (Jdg 1:29) suggests a date before the time the ... Essay on Biblical Allusions in Lord of the Flies Biblical Allusions in Lord of the Flies In the story, Lord of the Flies, there are many biblical allusions; Simon represents Jesus, the pig s head represents Satan or rather their satanic sides, Jack represents Judas, and the island represents the Garden of Eden. Through out this novel these allusions play large parts in the story and ideals place in the story. Simon, one of the major characters in the story, is set as the allusion of Jesus. Christ always had an affinity with children; in Ch. 4, he shows his way with the littluns by picking fruit for them. This shows his goodness by nature. The Pig s head, dubbed Lord of the Flies and as one of Satan s names is Beelzebub (Mt. 12:24) which means Lord of the flies. shows that the pigs head represents Satan. When Simon goes off to meditate he is confronted with the pig s head, as Jesus was confronted with Satan when he left for forty days and forty nights. Simon s talk with the Lord of the Flies is akin to Christ s temptation by Satan. In the New Testament, Satan tells Christ not to kill himself for us but to enjoy life and power. Simon is told that if he doesn t run off and play , the hunters and the Lord of the Flies will do you in. Jack, one of the lead characters in the novel, alludes to the biblical figure Judas for his betrayal to the good of the people brought forth by Jesus. Jack is the reason Simon is killed, for he betrayed Ralph s rules and brought forth the evil within the children s minds. Jack refuses Ralph s ideas and regulations in trade for fun and hunting. This shows his betrayal to the good of man and his want to bring evil forth to the island. The island, in the novel, represents the Garden of Eden. In particular Simon s little hideout can be related to the garden of Eden as that what was once beautiful becomes terrifying with the pig s head being placed in the centre of his hideout.
