Jungle Essay
The Jungle by Upton Sinclare was the novel I chose to read for this final section.
This book was 359 pages long with 31 chapter inside. From beginning to end, this book had detail
unlike any I have ever read in the past this year. The way this novel was structured was a one sided
view of how the industrial age was horrible to live in. Sinclare hated this time and used this book to
show how bad it really was.
Two very major character in the book happen to be a couple. There names are
Jurgis Rudkus and Ona Lukoszaite. The couple meet in Lithuania, where the book begins, and later
move to Chicago in search of a better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
After her death many people grieve, one of them being Ona s stepmother.
Ona s stepmothers name is Elizbieta Lukoszaite. She is the link to the past. She is the one who keeps
the sense and morals to the whole family. Elizbieta is the one who insists on a tradition wedding and a
proper funeral. She is the one that keeps hope alive.
Another inspiration is Marija.
Marija Berczynskas is the one with the best bets of surviving in America. She has many great traits
that set her apart from the others. She is a leader and conqueror. But we come to find out that all isn t
what it seems to be.
The main setting in this book is in Chicago, Illinois between 1900 and 1904. Most of the book takes
place here. The setting of this city is a good one because Chicago is one of many place where many
immigrants went to when they came to this country. Another place where the book it told at is
Lithuania. Lithuania is where the families originate from.
There is where Jurgis falls in love with Ona and where Ona s father dies. In Lithuania is where the
decision was made to move to America in the first place.
The book starts off in Lithuania days before the fair. At the fair Jurgis is told by father that he must sell
two of his horses. At the fair is where Jurgis meets Ona. At the moment of site, Jurgis falls

A Rhetorical Analysis Of All Apologies From Eula Biss
In the essay All Apologies from Eula Biss, she talks about how our apologies are being said without
sincerity and sometime how one generation will apologies in the place of another. As a result, after
apologizing we have the tendency to think that at the end it was are fault. In her essay she uses her
personal experiences to correlate to her main purpose apologizing for slavery. One example that she
uses was the time when she hit her sister in the stomach then quickly apologies for her action. As the
occurrence of each insult, each scratch and each slap, her sister reminded her that sorry doesn t cut it.
Another examples that Biss uses were Reagan s signing legislation apologizing for the Internment of
Japanese Americans during World War II. It goes taking about how Reagan resisted the apology
because he felt that during that struggle it was not our judgement to apologize but to see it as a
mistake and to let it go. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For instance, women apologize as often to their friends as to stranger. Biss wrote about a time when
she went to a doctor clinic and how the doctor had to touch her in her reproductive area and
apologizes constantly before and after every movement that her proceeded onto her body, This is an
illustration of apologizes for the things that they did not do rather try to maintain our innocence.
Another event that Biss also uses is about the character Ed Daily. Ed Daily, someone that was not a
part of the Seventh Cavalry Regiment, he would attend a peace ceremony and apologize to the

Apprenticeship Narrative
Motives for applying for apprenticeship program.
I have been working in long term care for eleven years and with my new degree in Health Information
Management would like to transition into a H.I.M. career. An apprenticeship is a great way to learn
about a specific industry while gaining on the job training. I have experienced this before via the
University of Tennessee at Knoxville s Veterinarian school summer intern program and the summer
science research program at Temple University. Both were great experiences that I have never
forgotten. They both allowed me to learn about an industry, gain real world experience, meet a diverse
group of people, and help me decide what my future career path would be. In essence, I have a passion

Big data will continue to grow even bigger with the advancement of technology and the
implementation of more interconnected health systems. The focus will continue to shift from episodic
care to preventative care for larger populations especially the chronically ill. Healthcare delivery will
continue to shift away from episodic to continuum model. The above changes inspire me to be a part
of positive changes within the healthcare field that H.I.M. is providing. The federal government will
increase regulations to do so and may or may not provide ongoing monetary incentives for providers
to keep up.
Define what professionalism means to you.
Character traits that should be included in professionalism are strong work ethic, respect, and integrity
and going above and beyond what is expected while delivering excellent customer service. Honesty is
necessary with those you are serving and reporting to. In addition, I believe that possessing good
communication skills and a can do attitude coupled with teamwork exudes professionalism. Lastly, I
do not think that professionalism is one quality instead it is a combination of several qualities, the
most essential in my opinion have been mentioned

Krispy Kreme Analysis
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
We begin our report by touching on the history of Krispy Kreme. Vernon Rudolph started Krispy
Kreme in 1933 when he bought a doughnut shop from Joe LeBeau. He later established the first
Krispy Kreme in Salem, North Carolina. After Scott Livengood became CEO, the company
repositioned itself and focused on being a specialty retailer, rather than a wholesale bakery. They soon
began expanding rapidly throughout the United States. This particular case took place in 2004 Krispy
Kreme was beginning to run into some serious problems.
Next we discuss the situation analysis beginning with the market summary. Here we explain the

The newly appointed CEO, Scott Livengood, realized the problem with the sluggish sales was because
of the company s current strategy.
After becoming CEO, president, and chairman of the board in 1999, the company repositioned and
focused on being a specialty retailer rather than a wholesale bakery. Krispy Kreme wanted to give
their customers the hot doughnut experience they all knew and loved (Peter Donnelly, 2011). The
second part of their plan was to increase the number of stores both franchises, and company owned
nationally. The company began to move into other regions. For example, in 1996 the first store in NY
City was opened, and in 1999 the first store in California opened. In early 2000, the company went
public and merged into a new company called Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., instead of Krispy
Kreme Doughnut Corporation. From 2000 2004, the number of stores has proliferated from 144 to 357
and Krispy Kreme is now beginning to open in international locations, opening the first factory in
London. They now also have locations in Canada, Mexico, and Australia.
SITUATION ANALYSIS
MARKET SUMMARY:
Krispy Kreme focuses on opening their stores in large, populated cities in the United States such as
Denver, Colorado, Rochester, New York, Medford, and Massachusetts. In 2000 2004 the company has
focused on opening numerous locations, and expanding into Europe with plans of

Distance Education Means Online Education
To most people in the 21st century, distance education means online education, the use of the Internet
to create a computer based learning connection between instructor and student (Larreamendy Joerns
Leinhardt, 2006). In today s increasingly technological world, nearly 70% of top academic leaders
agree that online learning is part of the academic world s future, and as of 2013, nearly 1/3 of higher
education students were enrolled in an online course (Kentnor, 2015). Although distance education s
rapid evolution began alongside the growth of technology in the late 1990s, the history of distance
learning goes back much farther than modern technology.
First distance learning
The first educational occurrence that can be viewed as distance learning occurred in the 18th century.
Caleb Phillips took out an advertisement in the Boston Gazette that offered shorthand lessons. Phillips
s idea was to send lessons via the Postal Service, which some view not as actual distance education
because a lack of two way communication. Regardless, the basic principle of distance learning was
present (Kentnor, 2015). As cited in Kentnor (2015), according to Verduin and Clark (1991), the first
real distance educator was Issac Pitman, who taught shorthand by correspondence via mailed
postcards in 1840. Students mailed their work back to Pitman, thus establishing the first true distance
education. This method continued from the 19th to the early 20th century, as desire for a college

Retinoid Inhibits Nrf2 Signaling Pathway through Retinoic...
Retinoids, natural and synthetic signaling molecules that are structurally related to vitamin A.
Compounds such as retinol, retinal, retinoic acid, retinyl esters and other derivatives are considered
under the group of retinoids. Retinoids are significantly considered to be the most prominent
regulators of several essential biological functions. For instance, active derivative of retinol
(metabolite of Vitamin A) such as retinoic acid (RA) plays a major role in vision, cell differentiation,
tissue homeostasis, apoptosis, organogenesis, regulation of immune system and embryonic pattern
formation(1). In addition RA is also considered to be a potent chemopreventive and tumor suppressive
agent because of its apoptotic and anti oxidant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These isoforms are formed because of differential usage of promoters and alternative splicing (8). As
most, nuclear receptors including retinoid receptors possess similarities in their structural
organization. Based on homology with other nuclear receptors, RAR and RXR receptors consists six
conserved regions known as A F. The N terminal region contains two domains (A/B) are designated as
AF1 and they are the least conserved domains and highly variable in length which exhibit a ligand
independent transactivation activity. So far, there is no three dimensional structure has been predicted
for A/B domain. (9). Central region C possess DNA binding domain (DBD) which is said to be the
most conserved region and possess similarity in their structure. DBD contains an important short motif
known as P box which is responsible for direct DNA interaction and detection of specificity for DNA
binding. DBD also possess additional sequences that are required for the homo or heterodimerization
of nuclear receptors. A pair of zinc fingers present in domain C is critically responsible for DNA
specific contacts and interaction. Domain D is the less conserved domain among nuclear receptors
which acts as a flexible hinge in between two domains such as C (DBD) and E (LBD) domains. In
addition, domain D possesses the nuclear localization signal (NLS) that regulates the sub cellular
distribution of nuclear receptors. The E region contains ligand binding domain (LBD) is

Evolutionary Theories Of Human Behavior
Before discussing this question it is important to understand how neurotransmission occurs. Firstly,
the neuron impulse needs to be triggered, dopamine for example can be triggered by something a
human finds pleasurable such as cigarettes or food. After the neuron is triggered it fires the impulse
across the neuron releasing dopamine transmitters into the synaptic gap. From there, the
neurotransmitter binds with specific receptor sites to activate the dopamine. Almost immediately after
the human is filled with joy and pleasure. This explains how (especially in addicts) the site of things
can cause pleasure and affect human behavior in a positive way. Contradicting this however if there is
a problem or lack of dopamine, the human will have feelings ... Show more content on

Historically disgust would have allowed human ancestors to survive long and produce strong offspring
because they would avoid harmful or rancid food or animals. Because of this, similar genes would
have been passed to the next generation. One case study that represents how disgust has become an
acquired and evolutionary trait that explains human behavior is Fessler (2006). In this cases study
Fessler hypothesized that disgust would help in keeping the potential fetus safe from harm. In order to
best prove this 496 healthy pregnant women from ages 18 to 50 in an online survey were given
different images and asked to rank them on the scale system of disgust. This study discovered that
women in their first trimester largely scored higher on the level of disgust compared to that of women
in the second and third trimester. Furthermore, when the study was controlled more greatly it was
found that higher levels of sickness were in response to that of food. This study helps supports disgust
being an evolutionary trait passed on by humans because it helps young offspring fight potential
disease as well as assist in the reproduction of offspring for having a greater survival chance.Within
biological psychology, one of the primary principle states that there are biological correlates on
behavior. By this, there are genetically acquired behavioral traits such as hormones and
neurotransmitters that explains why humans have particular behaviors. One case study that helps to
prove this theory is newcomer et al 1999. In this study participants were broken up into three groups,
group one given the highest amount of cortisol had tablets that were 160 mg of cortisol for four days.
Following this was group two who were given 40 mg of cortisol for also for 4 days, and lastly group
three was given a placebo tablet. Cortisol is a

blood type, shoeprint, hair, unknown substances, blood spatters, and DNA. Anna Garcia s autopsy

When evidence was analyzed to see if it belonged to any of the persons of interest, most of the
evidence belonged to Anna Garcia, excluding the fingerprints found which belonged to Alex Garcia.
When examined, Anna s body showed evidence of oxygen deprivation, as well as elements of
discomfort such as vomit, edema of ankles, inflamed and red injection sites on her left thigh, a head
wound from falling against a solid object, a right elbow bruise, and blue and gray nails. Even though
Anna hit her head, it was obviously not the sole reason of her death. She was experiencing symptoms
that were not tied to head trauma, which makes the idea of her dying of a natural death unlikely. When
evidence was analyzed to see if it belonged to any of the persons of interest, most of the evidence
belonged to Anna Garcia, excluding the fingerprints found which belonged to Alex Garcia. There was
not enough evidence found at the crime scene to tie Alex Garcia to the death, and Anna s symptoms
and injuries do not add up in terms of the idea of her death being a homicide. Anna s signs of sickness
and oxygen deprivation point to a natural death. Lucy Leffingwell, Anna s best friend, mentioned that
Anna had recently been in the hospital. A relapse is definitely not out of question. Until Anna s
autopsy report with the results of her internal examination and Anna s medical history records are
shown, her manner of death cannot be definitively determined. However, Anna Garcia s manner of
death being natural makes the most sense based on the information currently

The Pros And Cons Of The Indian Removal Act Of 1830
The Indian Removal Act of 1830, championed by President Andrew Jackson, called for the relocation
of numerous native American tribes to lands west of the Mississippi River to land for white settlers.
Although the bill was extremely controversial, it was passed, and entire Indian tribes were forced to
move. Due to the hardship and suffering the Indian Removal Act of 1830 caused Indian peoples, as
well as the fact that it was unnecessary, unconstitutional, and immoral, it should not have been passed.
Firstly, the negative effects of the bill on native Americans far outweighed the benefits it might have
had for second people. Secondly, the bill violated numerous treaties between the U.S. government and
Indian tribes and was thus unconstitutional. Lastly, the bill was immoral due to the fact that Indian
leaders were not allowed a voice in their own future and the inherent racism involved in the decision.
One of the main arguments opponents of the Indian Removal Act of 1830 voiced was that, at its most
basic level, the removal bill was not necessary. The main purpose of the act was to provide more land
for an increasing population of white American citizens; more land, the government believed, would
help expand the American economy. Proponents of the bill, such as President Andrew Jackson (who
ratified the act), claimed that the land occupied by the Indians would be put to better use as part of our
extensive Republic, studded with cities, towns, and all the improvements which art can devise... .
However, while those who supported the bill used nationalistic attitudes to justify their position, others
found that removing the Indian peoples was not necessary to achieve economic growth. As
Massachusetts Congressman Edward Everett and others emphasized, it was possible for white settlers
to thrive while leaving Cherokee peoples on the land that was rightfully theirs; it was greed, not
necessity, that motivated the people to demand more land. The removal bill should not have been
passed because although the white population benefitted from the removal of the Indians, this benefit
was not worth the hardship the Indians endured as a result. The benefit of white citizens should not
have been prioritized over the well being

The Social Security Act
Introduction
A. National Scale In the United States, child support is court mandated and requires the non custodial
parent of a minor or minors to make payments to ensure that their child is financially taken care of.
Title IV D of the Social Security Act requires that all States establish a comprehensive program which
works to locate non custodial parents of children receiving welfare and to obtain child support from
any parents located (Saltzman, Furman, and Ohman, 2014). Many incarcerated offenders are unaware
that their child support payments accrue while they are incarcerated, potentially leading to a financial
nightmare. A parent s incarceration may not allow deviation from the guidelines set forth by the state.

changes to the New York Family Court Act and Domestic Relations Law. This new law specifically
states that incarceration shall not be a bar to finding a substantial change in circumstances as long as
the incarceration is not for nonpayment of support, or an offense against the custodial parent or child.
The amendment now allows the courts to modify support orders for incarcerated parents whenever
appropriate, preventing accumulation of uncollectible arrears (Child Support, 2015). Child support
orders prior to October 12, 2010 are subject to incarceration being treated as voluntary unemployment
and typically may not be modified. Child support orders after October 12, 2010, incarceration shall
not be a bar to finding a substantial change in circumstances provided such incarceration is not the
result of nonpayment of an order of support for child support, or an offense against the custodial
parent or the child who is the subject of the judgment (Child Support, 2015). Additionally,
incarcerated offenders can request enrollment in the Arrears Cap Program, which can limit child
support debt owed to the government, also known as the New York City Department of Social
Services (DSS) due to their income falling below the poverty line. Unfortunately, if an incarcerated
offender has missed payments on their child support order, the downward modification only

of the constant debate of whether or not adoption is a beneficial option. Some believe that adoption is
more of curse than a blessing. They believe adoption can cause problems for the child by being raised
in a culture unlike their own. On the other hand, adoption can help the child to be open to the diversity
of the world and to be respectful, loving, and compassionate towards those who are different from

A Mastopexy Case Review
A Mastopexy (breast lift) is a surgical procedure designed to lift and reshape the breasts. Following a

improved breast profile.
What a Breast Lift in Manhattan Can Accomplish
While performing a Mastopexy, Dr. Naidu raises the breasts by eliminating excess skin. She reshapes
the breasts by tightening surrounding tissue. This tightened tissue supports the new breast contour. In
addition, during a breast lift, Dr. Naidu can reduce the size of the patient s areolae (the dark colored
skin that surrounds the nipple).

or as a whole. Usually art that vents the feelings of the artist occur around times or events that evoke
emotions powerful enough to provide a muse for artwork. Some art styles, such as Dadaism and
Internet Art, can directly tie their absurdist means to what was happening in that time. But do the time
periods in which those art styles were popular relate to the meaning behind the art? The similarities
between Dadaism and Internet/Postinternet art show the state of disarray and lack of hope for the
future that millennials have revived.
Dadaism
Dadaism is an art style defined as a form of artistic anarchy born out of disgust for the social, political,
and cultural values of the time. (Artyfactory). Pieces made in this style went against almost all of the
previously written rules of art, which earned it the title of anti art . Dada was presented in many ways,
the most well known being collages made on paper [Fig 1]. Another popular presentation was
photography, which was a relatively new concept at the time. These photographs turned ordinary
things into art by showcasing the abstractness of ordinary things as seen through a lens. One of the
most well known examples of Dada photography is Fountaine by Marcel Duchamp [Fig. 2].
Technology was also a new concept that Dada creating artists used to their advantage. Film and radio
broadcasting were used as mediums, one

My Middle School Self And Growing Up
Growing up is a journey we all have to travel. We all make our own paths on our adventure of change.
Along the way the path will be beautiful and smooth sailing, bumpy and rough, and sometimes
conflict will appear out of the blue. At times forks in the road will show up and decisions must be
made. Change is inevitable. Throughout a lifetime decisions made will be small and slight, or huge
and major. It does not matter because one decision can change one s path completely. Even the
slightest change can make the difference. The decision could even be a change of hairstyle. A change
in hairstyle could lead to a new fashion sense, to a new genre of music, to a completely new person. I
myself have noticed many differences and similarities between my middle school self and now; and it
is only the beginning. One similarity between my middle school self and my current self is my
personality. Throughout middle school I was always upbeat and very outgoing. I loved talking to new
kids and making people feel welcome. Positive reinforcement was definitely my forte. At any sporting
event I was the girl cheering the loudest and usually losing her voice. In middle school I would
express being outgoing by performing ballet and doing forensics. I also would sing at my church. I am
proud to say that I am still like this today. It is such a pleasure to be able to brighten someone s day,
which is why I am so happy that, in this case, I have not changed since middle school. Besides my

Japanese Canadians Essay
Many if not most, considered World War II, the most atrocious act of all time. It was viewed as a war
of beliefs and ideals. One side, vouching for domination, while another for freedom; One side
slaughtering and discriminating due to nationality, race, and religion; the other fighting against for
freedom, sovereignty, and peace. In reality, the war was not as black and white as that. Though the
Axis Powers did commit heinous Crimes against humanity (I.E Holocaust, Murder of millions,
Attempt at world domination etc.), the allies also had their own dark moments. Joy Kogawa displays
the horrors of the allies dark side shockingly accurately in the book Obasan . The book talks about the

Furthermore, all Japanese newspapers and businesses were shut down. In Obasan the same events
occurred as they were evicted from their home, separated and sent to various places across western
Canada. This had an adverse psychological and economical impact on them, as the family was
stripped of their possessions, jobs, and families. It had such an impact that people like Naomi, in real
life still are haunted by it. The Psychological impacts put upon the Japanese Canadians, weren t just
the horrible experiences, or the separation of family and friends. Rather the impact due to the
discrimination of the Japanese Canadians by the government and the rest of society had a deeper
impact. The hatred of the Japanese Canadians by the Government and the people had an Enormous
impact on the people s well being, and the way they viewed themselves. The government after the
relocation sold most of the properties and confiscated possessions of the Japanese Canadians. They
also took out all of the Japanese Newspapers, restricted Telephone and mail Services, thus Preventing
Communication. Furthermore, the media was full of Anti Japanese Canadian Rhetoric. Finally the
Greatest hatred against came from not the media, nor the government, but the people around them.

It is refreshing and obvious in his book the history of his study of the topic. He includes many direct
references, making it clear that his views are synthesized from research and not strictly from opinion.
The information in presented in a way that it is not overbearing, but theologically sound and able to be
proven. Kruger demonstrates his knowledge and expertise in this book to seamlessly lead the reader
into his objective. Aiding to the author s credibility is his current professorship on the subject and the
book expounding from the class itself within a seminary. Another strength in Canon Revisited:
Establishing the Origins and Authority of the New Testament Books, comes from his acknowledgment
that there are other contributing factors than the finite opinion of the book. He presents three different
models and then discredits two of them, in favor of the third, self authentication, as the most accurate
model. However, he does mention that the community and historical models do have some role to play
in the determination of the canon. He mentions that often these background factors often are brought

Educational Cost Essay
Educational Costs and Logistics For out of state students, which is where I would fall under, the
yearly tuition for UW is $34,791 and the overall cost for a year is $49,986. Although this is much
more expensive than the in state tuition cost, the overall out of state cost to attend UW is not as
expensive as out of state costs for other schools or private schools. The cost for housing and food,
which is the equivalent of room and board, is an estimated $11,691 for students who live on campus
and $14,625 for those who live off campus. It is much more beneficial to live on campus that off of

The West Campus Apartments, 12 Month Apartments, and studios are very similar in the fact that they
all contain a private bathroom and a kitchen. The other options may have a private bathroom, but it is
not guaranteed. The prices for occupancy are the same within a housing area, except for apartments,
but differ when compared to other housing areas. The North Campus Residence Halls, West Campus
Residence Halls, and the West Campus Apartments all can be paid either quarterly or for the entire
year, but the 12 Month Apartments can only be paid monthly. Since there are so many housing options
for UW, I don t know where to start, but since the price difference between living in a single room and
a triple room is quite drastic, and I would rather not live in a triple occupancy dorm, I would probably
choose to live in a double occupancy or shared single. However, in the future, I would like to live in
an apartment or in a studio because having the usage of my own kitchen would be extremely
beneficial to me personally, since I enjoy cooking here and there and it would allow me to save some

Trauma And Stressor Related Disorder
In the DSM 5, PTSD is listed under Trauma and Stressor Related Disorders. In order for a person to be
diagnosed with PTSD, they must meet a number of criterion the first one being exposure to actual or
threatened death, serious injury, or sexual violence. If the person does not meet this criterion, they are
automatically exempt from being diagnosed with PTSD. This alone is incredibly restrictive, ignoring
many groups of traumatized victims including those with psychiatric diagnosis, or those being
removed from their home. Though many people can benefit from the treatments associated with
PTSD, its two dimensionality, or lack of reference to ongoing exposure has created a want for a new
diagnosis in the trauma realm. Herman s response to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In creating the opportunity for more individuals to be diagnosed with a post traumatic syndrome, C
PTSD creates a dignified title for individuals who have already endured so much. Victims of
childhood trauma account for a portion of this group. Abused children have to undergo a series of
adaptations in order to experience self preservation. The three major forms of adaptation include
elaboration of dissociative defenses, development of fragmented identity, and pathological regulation
of emotional states. When a child falls prey to an abuser, they cannot form inner representations of
safety. Not only do they become attached to strangers, but they also cling to their abusers. During this
time, Herman refers to fragmentation as becoming the central principle of personality organization .
Normal regulations of emotional states are also disrupted, resulting in dysphoria, chronic anxiety, and
chronic depression which can last into adulthood. Normal regulations of emotional states are also
affected by the elaboration of dissociative defenses. When an individual becomes too accustomed to
using dissociation as a defense mechanism, they can experience something referred to as annihilation
panic . When annihilation panic ensues, only extreme shocks to the system (such as self mutilation)
can help them separate themselves from dissociation. Though these adaptations are crucial for

Republicans And Democrats Differences
What is the Difference Between Republicans and Democrats? Introduction Republicans and
Democrats are the two main and historically largest political parties in the US and, after every
election, hold the majority seats in the House of Representatives and the Senate as well as highest

differences that manifest in their comments, decisions and history. These differences are mainly
ideological, political, social, and economic paths to making the US a success and the world a better

Abortion In Alabama
Introduction:
Life is so beautiful and sweet until it ends. In America, abortions clinics are gradually closing their
doors even though the United States is of the few nations to endorse abortions. Abortions are normally
performed during the 1st trimester of a woman s pregnancy and abortion laws are varied from state to
state (Alabama Policy). Abortion is also one of the biggest and most controversial debate about
exterminating an unborn life in a mother s womb and determining whether its ethical or unethical. In
1973, the United States Supreme Court legalized abortions throughout every state and more women
especially African Americans were enticed by the Roe v Wade court decision (Alabama Policy Web).

However, during the early 1950s and 1960s, the Civil Rights Movement and other antiwar movements
inspired women to actively fight for their rights through nonviolent means (Feminist Web). Women
stopped being afraid of talking about the contentious issues of abortions, abuse, rape and silent tears.
For years, women have gone through society being denied their civil rights and they demanded justice
through acts of marching, protesting, and lobbying for reproductive rights. As a result, some states
began to supported abortion laws for women right after the birth control movement which was led by
feminist Margaret Sanger. Similarly, African American women were getting abortions more abortions

unexpected strangers. The African American community is declining in large numbers due to high

Cultural Differences
There are millions of different tribes in the world, each one have their own unique culture. Many
tribes share different aspects of culture, while others don t. But why doesn t everyone share the same
aspects of life? In this essay I will be comparing and contrasting the cultural aspects of the Maasai and
the Kikuyu tribe, and explaining the reasons for their differences. The Maasai tribe live in East Africa,
specifically in Kenya and Tanzania. Their population is very large; it is made up of half a million
people. They are a nomadic tribe, meaning that they move around from place to place. The Kikuyu, is

Maasai and the Kikuyu have a large difference in their diets. The reasoning for this cultural difference
is, in my opinion, because of some of their values and their environment. The Maasai value cattle and
they own a huge variety of it. They don t grow crops as much because they are nomadic people. While
the Kikuyu don t own that much cattle. They are hunter gatherers so they grow their own crops and

1) Of all the sample materials tested during the lab, the AISI 1020 Cold Rolled Steel was found to be
the strongest. Moreover, between the two samples of AISI 1020 Cold Rolled steel, the sample without
the neck was found to be stronger. This was observed by calculating the ultimate tensile strength for
all the samples used during the experiment. As a result, the higher the ultimate tensile stress the
material endured, the stronger the material was. The ultimate tensile stress calculated for the AISI
1020 Cold Rolled was 563 MPa which was the highest of all. Therefore, concluding that the AISI
1020 Cold Rolled without a neck region was the strongest material. As for ductility, the material with
most ductility was found to be the thermoplastic polymer (HDPE). Two tests were conducted on the
HDPE samples at different speeds. As a result, the HDPE sample pulled at lower speed exhibited
greater ductility. Ductility was calculated by obtaining the percent elongation of each material sample.
This correlates with the idea that the material that deforms the most before fracture, possesses greater
ductility. The highest percent elongation obtained was 191, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Essay on Analysis of Blackberry Picking by Seamus Heaney
Analysis of Blackberry Picking by Seamus Heaney
Once the reader can passes up the surface meaning of the poem Blackberry Picking, by Seamus
Heaney, past the emotional switch from sheer joy to utter disappointment, past the childhood
memories, the underlying meaning can be quite disturbing. Hidden deep within the happy go lucky
rifts of childhood is a disturbing tale of greed and murder. Seamus Heaney, through clever diction,
ghastly imagery, misguided metaphors and abruptly changing forms, ingeniously tells the tale that is
understood and rarely spoken aloud. Seamus Heaney refers to Bluebeard at the end of stanza one.
Bluebeard, according to the footnote, is a character in a fairy tale who murders his wives. Why on

Realizing unconsciously seems like an oxymoron, but the speaker does not consciously realize the
horrors of his actions, while deep down understands what he has done. The speaker s extreme joy
from hording all the delicious blackberries turns into horror upon witnessing their fermentation (2nd
stanza). The speaker realizes that all good things must come to an end. He knows that, out of his
greed, he has murdered these blackberries, made then ferment and caused them to loose their
succulent appeal.
At first glance this poem seems a happy tale of childhood. These are memories that make the heart
smile. Images of heavy summer storms full of rain, alternating with bright, joyous sunshine, full
bushels of blackberries waiting to be picked; these are images most can relate with. The reader can
taste the bitter sweetness of the summer s first blackberry, feel the scratch of briars against their own
skin, sense the excitement and butterflies in their own stomachs as they race to gather all the
wondrous blackberries they can, followed by the anger and the disappointment when the blackberries
rot and ferment before the readers eyes. However, if the reader were to take the diction and imagery
quite literally, a somewhat different picture is aroused. ...a glossy purple clot... (line 3) describing the
first ripened blackberry, brings to mind the picture of a nasty blood clot in someone s veins, why
would Heaney compare blackberries to blood clots?

Olympic Stadium Controversy
Introduction
This controversy revolves around the stadium meant to be the host for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic
Games. With the preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, one of the preparations was to
build a new stadium to host the games and in 2012, Zaha Hadid Architects (ZHA) won the stadium
commission through an international competition (Dezeen, 2015a). Soon after ZHA bid won, they
started work on the site and after two years, and after Japan had won the bid to host the 2020
Olympics, the controversy began with the main argument against the project being that the
architectural design was over budgeted and that it could not be financially sustainable. As a result,
ZHA had to revise their design in 2014 with a new design that addressed the previously voiced
criticism. However, with criticism still raging on, Japan Sports Council (JSC) canceled the firm s
plans in July 2015, after Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe weighed into the issue by announcing
that the design plans will be scrapped as a result of spiraling costs and that the project would be started
from scratch. This issue ended up being referred to as the Tokyo 2020 Olympic stadium controversy
and one of the major architectural controversies of 2015 (Dezeen magazine, 2015b). This paper, ...

African Americans And African American Culture Essay
Exactly how black is black America? African American culture in the United States has evolved
continuously throughout United States history carrying on various cultural traditions of African ethnic
groups brought here during slavery. The U.S. Census Bureau defines African Americans as a person
having origins in any of the Black race groups of Africa. [1]. African American culture is derived
chiefly from people originated from sub Saharan and Sahelian cultures in Africa. Over hundreds of
years, black culture has partially been assimilated into western ideals in America. However, despite
the persistent persecutions of slave culture , the African influences brought here has evolved and
continues to be relevant through Black American artwork, literature, musical production, cuisines, and
language still present in their societies. These are all spirited by influences of the Africa nation that
originated the black culture here in present times.
Artwork has been an imperative part of Black culture, and many artist share their inspirations coming
from African origins. From the beginning of slave societies to present day, African America artwork
has contributed to large parts of United States artistic collection. Beginning in the early 1600 to 1800
black art took the form of small drums, quilts, wrought iron figures and ceramic vessels in the
southern United States. These artifacts have similarities with comparable crafts in West and Central

Walter Mead Isolationism
According to historians there are a multitude of misconceptions surrounding Americas foreign policy
in its earliest days. Perhaps the biggest one being the misunderstanding that is, America was an
isolationist country at it s founding. With that being said, how have historians assessed whether or not
the United States was an isolationist country from its founding through 1815? This question is best
answered by looking at the United States diplomatic interactions with other countries, and its
unbeknownst cultural affinity with Britain. Once we look at these two things its rather difficult to say
America was an isolationist country from its founding through 1815. To start, it s imperative to
understand the meaning of the word isolationist ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mead states the first treaty America signed in 1778, which was a military alliance with France goes
directly against isolationist tendencies. This also erodes Kaplan s point of the U.S. not forming
alliances with other countries. Furthermore Mead essentially says from 1778 1793 the United States is
beholden to assist France in any foreign conflict they are involved in. However France hadn t engaged
in war until 1793, which was when the United States signed the proclamation of neutrality
proclaiming neutral in the war between Britain and France. Mead argues George Washington didn t
sign this because he wanted America to be an isolationist country, but he signed it because America
was so new of a country Washington didn t want to fight a messy European war that could eventually
lead to Americas demise. Additionally Mead states, Washington signed the proclamation so the United
States could maintain its sovereign independence, and that it had absolutely nothing to do with
attempting to be an isolationist state. Furthermore Mead argues that only thirteen years after the
United States constitution was ratified, they had participated in their first foreign war. This was when
the U.S. allied with Sweden in the Tripolitan War against the North African Barbary States. Mead
follows this up by pointing to the quote said by one of the United States founding fathers Thomas
Paine. After they won the Tripolitan War. Paine says, The cause of America is in a great measure the
cause of all mankind. Mead essentially states that Paine s quote expressed to the people that the
United States was willing to do everything in their power, including foreign intervention to prescribe
the rest of the world human liberties, and the right to self government that were staples in America at
the current time. Finally Mead points to the war of 1812 when the United States

Alcoholic Beverages an introduction
Alcoholic beverages have been around for thousands of years, some Stone Age beer jugs show that
fermented beverages were being produced as early as 10,000 B.C.[Hanson, David J. 1997]. In the past
beer was used as a substitute to drinking water, it was considered safer due to the unsanitary ways that
water was delivered, as the process boiled off any bacteria [Cahill, Mero M. There are many different
types of alcoholic beverages on the market, these are classified into the following groups beer, wine
and spirits (Alcoholic Beverages).
Beer According to [Motarjemi, Yasmine Moy, Gerald Todd, Ewen. 2014] beers are alcoholic
beverages brewed from germinated barley (malt), hops, yeast and water. It is also stated that beer can
be dated back to 9500BC, making it one of the worlds oldest prepared beverages.
Wine According to [Motarjemi, Yasmine Moy, Gerald Todd, Ewen. 2014] wines are alcoholic

11. What abilities, skills, and personality traits are required for you to be successful in your field? She
said you really have to have determination, and a lot of dedication, to the craft and learning how it
works. As far as the business side you have to be personable. Like if you don t know how to talk and
how promote yourself or how to explain how you make things, then people aren t going to buy.
Especially with glassblowing, most people will not know about glass blowing, so you have to tell
them how it works and explain it in way that they will understand it. So you really have to promote
yourself and pick yourself up makes all the difference. 12. Did you prepare for and enter this

Annotation Strategies
Hello Joy and Dr. Smith, There are two memory strategies mentioned in the book that I have already
been using: organization and elaboration strategies. Organization strategy is about sorting items to be
learned, while elaboration strategy is about looking for relationships of those items (Broederick
Blewitt, 2015). I believe that these strategies are very effective to enhance memory not only for
regular kids but also for special education and second language learners.
Using organization strategy, I always require my students to use their notebook to organize what they
have learned from a lesson. They could write or draw what they have learned. I model what they are to
write or draw, and then later allow them to represent what they have

Theory Of Evaluator s Practice
Theory in Evaluator s Practice
Evaluation theory is a broad term, there are many different theories and models to follow in an
evaluation. An evaluator can pick any when doing an evaluation, however each as a ground
framework they start with. That starting theory can show up when they first begin an evaluation.
However the evaluation determines the theory used to best address the problem or program being
evaluated. I interviewed an evaluator, Person A, who explained that every evaluation and assessment
is unique, so her approach was holistic to try to see every necessary variable and she used mix and
match theories she knew to best address the current issues, sometimes changing models when
necessary. For the start of planning an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
She uses her training in education to examine data from assessments to identify weak spot in services
and programs to create evaluation in improving these. She has learned how evaluation data can be
applied and the importance of applying it to make improvements and identifying weak spots in
services or programs. While she has experience in doing many types of evaluations like process,
outcomes and impact, she prefers to do process and impact evaluations to create change or
improvements and track their progress.
One example of a process evaluation she does is to find out student satisfaction of services and to
address any inefficiencies. Last year a survey was emailed to students who used the service at the end
of the year. Some strengths of this evaluation was their data collection and survey method were more
efficient after upgrading from paper to electronic resources. With an emailed survey they got a higher
response rate than using paper surveys. However the response rate was still low since the survey was
sent out once at the end of the year. Person A wanted a higher response rate, so she implemented a
change by sending out the survey to students shortly after they used the service so she will
continuously collect data and be able to analyze it at the end of each semester. More students have
replied since the survey was sent out right after their use instead of asking them about

Neckties Myths
The Funny Stories Of Neckties Rather improbably, perhaps, the necktie may have originated with the
ancient Egyptians. Wrapped around the neck and a long rectangular fabric is hanging on the shoulder.
It is similar to a short shawl and that is the prototype of neckties in the legend. This accessory has very
important implication which represents the wearer s social status in ancient Egypt. Not the ordinary
civilians, only the noble is eligible to wear it. Of ancient Egypt the modern tie is the derivative of a
conceptual product which is a symbol of the feudal system in a sense. Inherited through the necktie
evolution, it represents a clear class differentiation. There are even more stories on the neckties in the
Europe among which the British ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Due to the old legend the wars were frequent in Europe. In 1688, King Louis XIV in France started
the war to Austria. At that time the Austrian soldiers wore a white scarf around the neck as an identity.
The Croatta scarf was a favorite of the king. Louis even created his own scarf and wore it around the
castle. After a while, he was bored by the plain style of Croatta so he began to make a new design for
the scarf, such as adding the embroidery lace and tying a butterfly knot. As Louis set the example by
adopting this accessory, it became all the rage at court. Furthermore, as soon as the trend spread to the
Army, everyone began to follow it. King Louis did a lot for Croatia since an army has Croatta s name.
For the necktie development in the history the promotion by the king Louis is very important. Had
King Louis XIV not embraced this fashion, neckties might not be worn today. The king had no idea
how important his promotion for the modern fashion within next hundreds of years. The Croatta has
been evolved into two categories in the current fashion industry: One is the bow tie from the upward
development and the other is the necktie with the downward

My Observation At The Mall Center Mall
For my observation, I decided to go the Town Center Mall in Boca Raton, Florida to observe the
advertisements that are present in our community. I went to the mall to conduct research because I
need to make a purchase for a vacation, so I thought this was the perfect place to go. Each store I
walked into, there were advertisements for instant savings, but the further I walked into any store, the
prices climbed higher. Truthfully, I was shocked by the amount of people who did not care that they
were being bamboozled. Initially, we were told at the front of the store that there were discounts, but
we had to find out on our own that the prices raised exponentially. This was the exact reason why I

Cliff Freeman said that people would kill anything that they thought of before they had the chance
because they got nervous. Lee Clow goes on to say that those business professionals have no
creativity, trust, or bravery when letting them, the advertisers, develop an idea. These people have
conquered the skill of persuasion and have mastered how to make the audience feel a connection to
their brand. Their creativity and knowledge helped me better my understanding of the advertising
world.
Library Research At first, I had no idea where to start my research. I would go on Google and try to
learn anything that I can that related to advertising. But that was too broad to start my research
because that really did not give me enough information. I had to change my approach to researching
because typing in advertising on Google was not going to do me any justice. But I after reading about
suggestions on where to start researching, I went on Youtube and watched a couple of TedTalks about
advertising.
I found a TedTalk by Jean Kilbourne titled The Dangerous Ways Ads See Women. I thought this
would be a perfect foundation towards answering my question. Although this is a popular source,
Kilbourne discussed about women body image issues in the United States and how there is a
psychological effect that impacts the way that women present themselves. This video helped me get an

According to a CSUN student in california, says, Today, the idea of materialism in Hip Hop music and
music videos is more than ever present. Current Hip Hop artist, often have lucrative lifestyles (with
fancy cars, money everywhere, and gold chains, for example) going on in their song themes that is

  • 2. Jungle Essay The Jungle by Upton Sinclare was the novel I chose to read for this final section. This book was 359 pages long with 31 chapter inside. From beginning to end, this book had detail unlike any I have ever read in the past this year. The way this novel was structured was a one sided view of how the industrial age was horrible to live in. Sinclare hated this time and used this book to show how bad it really was. A Rhetorical Analysis Of All Apologies From Eula Biss In the essay All Apologies from Eula Biss, she talks about how our apologies are being said without sincerity and sometime how one generation will apologies in the place of another. As a result, after apologizing we have the tendency to think that at the end it was are fault. In her essay she uses her personal experiences to correlate to her main purpose apologizing for slavery. One example that she uses was the time when she hit her sister in the stomach then quickly apologies for her action. As the occurrence of each insult, each scratch and each slap, her sister reminded her that sorry doesn t cut it. Another examples that Biss uses were Reagan s signing legislation apologizing for the Internment of Japanese Americans during World War II. It goes taking about how Reagan resisted the apology because he felt that during that struggle it was not our judgement to apologize but to see it as a mistake and to let it go. ... After becoming CEO, president, and chairman of the board in 1999, the company repositioned and focused on being a specialty retailer rather than a wholesale bakery. Krispy Kreme wanted to give their customers the hot doughnut experience they all knew and loved (Peter Donnelly, 2011). The second part of their plan was to increase the number of stores both franchises, and company owned nationally. The company began to move into other regions. For example, in 1996 the first store in NY City was opened, and in 1999 the first store in California opened. In early 2000, the company went public and merged into a new company called Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Inc., instead of Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corporation. • 7. Distance Education Means Online Education To most people in the 21st century, distance education means online education, the use of the Internet to create a computer based learning connection between instructor and student (Larreamendy Joerns Leinhardt, 2006). In today s increasingly technological world, nearly 70% of top academic leaders agree that online learning is part of the academic world s future, and as of 2013, nearly 1/3 of higher education students were enrolled in an online course (Kentnor, 2015). Although distance education s rapid evolution began alongside the growth of technology in the late 1990s, the history of distance learning goes back much farther than modern technology. First distance learning The first educational occurrence that can be viewed as distance learning occurred in the 18th century. Caleb Phillips took out an advertisement in the Boston Gazette that offered shorthand lessons. Phillips s idea was to send lessons via the Postal Service, which some view not as actual distance education because a lack of two way communication. Regardless, the basic principle of distance learning was present (Kentnor, 2015). As cited in Kentnor (2015), according to Verduin and Clark (1991), the first real distance educator was Issac Pitman, who taught shorthand by correspondence via mailed postcards in 1840. Students mailed their work back to Pitman, thus establishing the first true distance education. This method continued from the 19th to the early 20th century, as desire for a college ... Compounds such as retinol, retinal, retinoic acid, retinyl esters and other derivatives are considered under the group of retinoids. Retinoids are significantly considered to be the most prominent regulators of several essential biological functions. For instance, active derivative of retinol (metabolite of Vitamin A) such as retinoic acid (RA) plays a major role in vision, cell differentiation, tissue homeostasis, apoptosis, organogenesis, regulation of immune system and embryonic pattern formation(1). A pair of zinc fingers present in domain C is critically responsible for DNA specific contacts and interaction. Domain D is the less conserved domain among nuclear receptors which acts as a flexible hinge in between two domains such as C (DBD) and E (LBD) domains. • 10. Evolutionary Theories Of Human Behavior Before discussing this question it is important to understand how neurotransmission occurs. Firstly, the neuron impulse needs to be triggered, dopamine for example can be triggered by something a human finds pleasurable such as cigarettes or food. After the neuron is triggered it fires the impulse across the neuron releasing dopamine transmitters into the synaptic gap. From there, the neurotransmitter binds with specific receptor sites to activate the dopamine. Almost immediately after the human is filled with joy and pleasure. This explains how (especially in addicts) the site of things can cause pleasure and affect human behavior in a positive way. Contradicting this however if there is a problem or lack of dopamine, the human will have feelings ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Historically disgust would have allowed human ancestors to survive long and produce strong offspring because they would avoid harmful or rancid food or animals. Because of this, similar genes would have been passed to the next generation. One case study that represents how disgust has become an acquired and evolutionary trait that explains human behavior is Fessler (2006). In this cases study Fessler hypothesized that disgust would help in keeping the potential fetus safe from harm. In order to best prove this 496 healthy pregnant women from ages 18 to 50 in an online survey were given different images and asked to rank them on the scale system of disgust. This study discovered that women in their first trimester largely scored higher on the level of disgust compared to that of women in the second and third trimester. Furthermore, when the study was controlled more greatly it was found that higher levels of sickness were in response to that of food. This study helps supports disgust being an evolutionary trait passed on by humans because it helps young offspring fight potential disease as well as assist in the reproduction of offspring for having a greater survival chance.Within biological psychology, one of the primary principle states that there are biological correlates on behavior. By this, there are genetically acquired behavioral traits such as hormones and neurotransmitters that explains why humans have particular behaviors. One case study that helps to prove this theory is newcomer et al 1999. In this study participants were broken up into three groups, group one given the highest amount of cortisol had tablets that were 160 mg of cortisol for four days. Following this was group two who were given 40 mg of cortisol for also for 4 days, and lastly group three was given a placebo tablet. Cortisol is a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Even though Anna hit her head, it was obviously not the sole reason of her death. She was experiencing symptoms that were not tied to head trauma, which makes the idea of her dying of a natural death unlikely. When evidence was analyzed to see if it belonged to any of the persons of interest, most of the evidence belonged to Anna Garcia, excluding the fingerprints found which belonged to Alex Garcia. There was not enough evidence found at the crime scene to tie Alex Garcia to the death, and Anna s symptoms and injuries do not add up in terms of the idea of her death being a homicide. Anna s signs of sickness and oxygen deprivation point to a natural death. Lucy Leffingwell, Anna s best friend, mentioned that Anna had recently been in the hospital. • 12. The Pros And Cons Of The Indian Removal Act Of 1830 The Indian Removal Act of 1830, championed by President Andrew Jackson, called for the relocation of numerous native American tribes to lands west of the Mississippi River to land for white settlers. Although the bill was extremely controversial, it was passed, and entire Indian tribes were forced to move. Due to the hardship and suffering the Indian Removal Act of 1830 caused Indian peoples, as well as the fact that it was unnecessary, unconstitutional, and immoral, it should not have been passed. Firstly, the negative effects of the bill on native Americans far outweighed the benefits it might have had for second people. Secondly, the bill violated numerous treaties between the U.S. government and Indian tribes and was thus unconstitutional. Lastly, the bill was immoral due to the fact that Indian leaders were not allowed a voice in their own future and the inherent racism involved in the decision. One of the main arguments opponents of the Indian Removal Act of 1830 voiced was that, at its most basic level, the removal bill was not necessary. The main purpose of the act was to provide more land for an increasing population of white American citizens; more land, the government believed, would help expand the American economy. Proponents of the bill, such as President Andrew Jackson (who ratified the act), claimed that the land occupied by the Indians would be put to better use as part of our extensive Republic, studded with cities, towns, and all the improvements which art can devise... . However, while those who supported the bill used nationalistic attitudes to justify their position, others found that removing the Indian peoples was not necessary to achieve economic growth. As Massachusetts Congressman Edward Everett and others emphasized, it was possible for white settlers to thrive while leaving Cherokee peoples on the land that was rightfully theirs; it was greed, not necessity, that motivated the people to demand more land. The removal bill should not have been passed because although the white population benefitted from the removal of the Indians, this benefit was not worth the hardship the Indians endured as a result. The benefit of white citizens should not have been prioritized over the well being ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Usually art that vents the feelings of the artist occur around times or events that evoke emotions powerful enough to provide a muse for artwork. Some art styles, such as Dadaism and Internet Art, can directly tie their absurdist means to what was happening in that time. But do the time periods in which those art styles were popular relate to the meaning behind the art? The similarities between Dadaism and Internet/Postinternet art show the state of disarray and lack of hope for the future that millennials have revived. Dadaism Dadaism is an art style defined as a form of artistic anarchy born out of disgust for the social, political, and cultural values of the time. (Artyfactory). Dada was presented in many ways, the most well known being collages made on paper [Fig 1]. Another popular presentation was photography, which was a relatively new concept at the time. These photographs turned ordinary things into art by showcasing the abstractness of ordinary things as seen through a lens. One of the most well known examples of Dada photography is Fountaine by Marcel Duchamp [Fig. 2]. Technology was also a new concept that Dada creating artists used to their advantage. • 20. My Middle School Self And Growing Up Growing up is a journey we all have to travel. We all make our own paths on our adventure of change. Along the way the path will be beautiful and smooth sailing, bumpy and rough, and sometimes conflict will appear out of the blue. At times forks in the road will show up and decisions must be made. Change is inevitable. Throughout a lifetime decisions made will be small and slight, or huge and major. It does not matter because one decision can change one s path completely. Even the slightest change can make the difference. The decision could even be a change of hairstyle. A change in hairstyle could lead to a new fashion sense, to a new genre of music, to a completely new person. I myself have noticed many differences and similarities between my middle school self and now; and it is only the beginning. One similarity between my middle school self and my current self is my personality. Throughout middle school I was always upbeat and very outgoing. I loved talking to new kids and making people feel welcome. Positive reinforcement was definitely my forte. At any sporting event I was the girl cheering the loudest and usually losing her voice. In middle school I would express being outgoing by performing ballet and doing forensics. I also would sing at my church. I am proud to say that I am still like this today. It is such a pleasure to be able to brighten someone s day, which is why I am so happy that, in this case, I have not changed since middle school. Besides my ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The hatred of the Japanese Canadians by the Government and the people had an Enormous impact on the people s well being, and the way they viewed themselves. In creating the opportunity for more individuals to be diagnosed with a post traumatic syndrome, C PTSD creates a dignified title for individuals who have already endured so much. Victims of childhood trauma account for a portion of this group. Abused children have to undergo a series of adaptations in order to experience self preservation. The three major forms of adaptation include elaboration of dissociative defenses, development of fragmented identity, and pathological regulation of emotional states. When a child falls prey to an abuser, they cannot form inner representations of safety. Not only do they become attached to strangers, but they also cling to their abusers. During this time, Herman refers to fragmentation as becoming the central principle of personality organization . Normal regulations of emotional states are also disrupted, resulting in dysphoria, chronic anxiety, and chronic depression which can last into adulthood. Normal regulations of emotional states are also affected by the elaboration of dissociative defenses. When an individual becomes too accustomed to using dissociation as a defense mechanism, they can experience something referred to as annihilation panic . Perhaps the biggest one being the misunderstanding that is, America was an isolationist country at it s founding. This question is best answered by looking at the United States diplomatic interactions with other countries, and its unbeknownst cultural affinity with Britain. Mead states the first treaty America signed in 1778, which was a military alliance with France goes directly against isolationist tendencies. This also erodes Kaplan s point of the U.S. not forming alliances with other countries. However France hadn t engaged in war until 1793, which was when the United States signed the proclamation of neutrality proclaiming neutral in the war between Britain and France. Mead argues George Washington didn t sign this because he wanted America to be an isolationist country, but he signed it because America was so new of a country Washington didn t want to fight a messy European war that could eventually lead to Americas demise. Additionally Mead states, Washington signed the proclamation so the United States could maintain its sovereign independence, and that it had absolutely nothing to do with attempting to be an isolationist state. Furthermore Mead argues that only thirteen years after the United States constitution was ratified, they had participated in their first foreign war. This was when the U.S. allied with Sweden in the Tripolitan War against the North African Barbary States. Mead follows this up by pointing to the quote said by one of the United States founding fathers Thomas Paine. After they won the Tripolitan War. Paine says, The cause of America is in a great measure the cause of all mankind. Mead essentially states that Paine s quote expressed to the people that the United States was willing to do everything in their power, including foreign intervention to prescribe the rest of the world human liberties, and the right to self government that were staples in America at the current time.
