Roles Of Women In The 1800s Essay
Roles of Women in the late 1800s Around the late 1800s, the roles of women were different than
todays. Women could not participate in majority of the occupations that men are allowed too. Women
could not vote, they were unauthorized to own property, and were restricted to working. Women were
only seen as stay at home wives, and completed all the duties as a housewife. Women cooked,
cleaned, and nurtured the children while the fathers worked outside the home. The womanhood was
considered to be piety and domesticity with submissiveness and passivity. Sarah Josepha Hale, editor
of Godey s Lady s book, characterized women as one who was timid and delicate, demanded
protection, and possessed a sweet dependency. Men were symbolized as aggressive, materialistic, and
competitive; therefore, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From 1870 till 1900, the number of wage earning women flourish by relatively 70 percent. Beliefs
about the womanhood decided which woman could enter the work field. In 1890, nearly 5 percent of
married white women, in the neighborhood of 41 percent single women, and around 30 percent of
African American women worked outside the homes. Women often worked as domestic servants,
doing the jobs of nursing, office work, teaching, and sales. By the mid 1870s, states in the North
passed the Married Women Property Act, which allowed married women to own and control property
in their own right. In some states, the law varied widely; however, this epitomized the transfer of
property rights and made improvements to the status of American married women. Teachers from the
North were selected to educate former slaves. In 1869, over 9 thousand teachers were initiated to
instruct former slaves. Over half a million African Americans, ranging from all ages, were inducted in
elementary schools. Before the Civil War, it was impossible for most southern black females to

Environmental Effects Of A Shopping Mall
Tearing up the park and replacing with a shopping to fulfill the gluttonous greed of our capitalist
nation, will not only harm the ecosystem and cost millions of tax paying dollars, but severely harm the
children physically and mentally.
A shopping mall is a large investment to make, referring to the ecosystem and money. Constructing a
pollutant in our town will aggravate the ecosystem. Cutting down trees will cause an oxygen
deficiency as well as harm any species and ecosystems living there. The process of building a mall
emits air pollution into the atmosphere, which will also occur when the mall is finished. Moving on,
mall have not been making business of late and are shutting down.
Time calculates By 2022, analysts estimate that 1 out of every 4 malls in the U.S. could be out of
business (Time). Manufacturing a mall now is not the best idea economically. In addition, Fixr makes
us aware that malls run at an average of $24.9 million to complete (Fixr). Paying 24.9 million dollars
to build soon to close mall that will hurt the ecosystem is a poor judgment call.
Furthermore, in our current society, children are being limited to the access to the clean outside world.
They choose to remain inside on the computer, rather than having a childhood playing with friends
outside and are suffering physically. With fast food industries taking over, children have no way to
work off the pounds of grease and fat they consume. According to the American Heart Association, ...

Chapter Summary Of We Beat The Streets
In the book We Beat The Streets by Drs. Sampson Davis, George Jenkins, and Rameck Hunt with
Sharon M. Draper, the tree doctors had to overcome the ghetto projects in Plainfield and Newark
while growing up. First, They had to overcome money problems; money problems where a problem

the three doctors money for a portfolio to be in a play. It was $150 that his grandma gave him to
become an actor, but when he got to his house his grandma told him not to give the money to his
mom. Ramecks mom did drug, she spent all of the money on drug and their power was out and his

Participation Awards Should Be Banned
The notion of participation awards in childhood activities have raised a spark debate; while awarding
each child with a uniform trophy supports equality, what s there to say about the detrimental effect on
motivation if everyone is labeled a winner? The expectation of an award or certificate, in conclusion
to any activity, is viewed as a guarantee; often, they serve as the sole motivation point for those
uninterested in the activity itself as they re aware they ll be a winner regardless. This inflated sense of
self worth brought upon by miniscule awards, most especially participation, leaves children
unprepared for adult life as a functioning member of society. While generous in thought, participation
awards support a distorted view of reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In developing nations, there are winners and losers; there are people who succeed in life, and people
who simply fail. This is an accepted thought amongst nations such as Brazil, China, India, and
Lebanon. The culture of these nations believes that there are no rewards for doing what is expected of
you. Simply showing up does not warrant you an award of any kind, it s the unique work ethic and
efforts you push yourself to achieve that result in success. For example, the culture of India places a
high importance on education; there are no rewards in place for students that simply show up to class
every day, which is merely an expectation you must uphold. In the United States, school systems
reward their students with participation trophies at the end of the year for merely showing up! The
award culture in the U.S. has altered the expectation of success within the nation; the younger
generation feels they re entitled to much more than they are possibly responsible enough for. The
culture of Middle Eastern, and Asian nations execute an entirely different expectation of success;
awards are reserved for those who exhibit unique traits and actions, not to those that simply participate
by showing up. These up and coming nations are quickly replacing America in several industries,
which is perhaps due to award system they have in place that only celebrate those that work

Germans Essay
By the twentieth century over two million Germans have immigrated to the United States. Regardless
of where they settled they came from a multitude of areas and for a variety of reasons. They were a
highly diversified group in terms of regional origin, religious and political orientation, education, and
socioeconomic standing.
There were a multitude of push factors, or issues that caused Germans to want to leave Germany from
inside the country. One of those is that during the time of World War One, Germany s government
started having mandatory military service. This meant that any male over the age of 15 would either
have to serve in Germany s military or they would have to leave the country. Many people did not
want to serve, and as a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These railroads even kept free hotels. This was ideal for many immigrants because they usually came
into the country with barely any money. Another pull factor was that relatives and friends of German
natives who migrated first would write back and encourage others to follow. This led to chain
migrations .
We can see by looking at 4 census report where most of the Germans migrated to where they came to
New York. I found that the 1880 and 1920 were pretty similar. There were a few more counties that
increased but most stayed the same. I t wasn t until the 1960 census that things started really changing.
I also noticed that the 3 counties in upper New York: St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton and
Washington county which is located on the eastern side were always in the lowest percentile through
all 4 censuses, they never changed. Also after the 1920 census more Germans were living in the NY
City area then before. Also Erie County, which was the highest in the 1880 census, stayed high
throughout out all 4 censuses. From the first census to the last, it seems the trend for the most counties
with the highest German population were moving out toward western New York.
Looking at the 1880 census the county with the highest amount of German was Erie County. Why was
the county such a popular place to come? The Erie Canal had opened in 1825. It made Western New
York easily accessible from the Atlantic coast for the first time. For an immigrant arriving at New

GEICO Personal Statement
I am applying to join GEICO s Management Development Program on the Claims track. I graduated
from the University of Virginia in May 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Foreign
Affairs. I would like to join this specific program at GEICO because I believe that it will give me an
opportunity to use some of the practical and leadership skills that I attained while at the University of
Virginia. I also know that I will be able to receive the type of guidance and training that will allow me
to build a career as a valuable member of the management team in the near future.
Throughout my time in college, I spent a lot of time working in teams, either for group projects, or for
the extracurricular activities that I was involved in. I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to
develop myself as a group leader through my work in the Cavalier Marching Band, where I was able
to work my way up to the position of Drill Instructor. In this role, I was responsible for motivating my
group to quickly learn and adapt, as we worked towards the common goals of self improvement and
putting on a great show at the next home football game. I know that the skills that I have built through

Internal Stress In Law Enforcement
There are many stress categories that law enforcement will face when it comes to performing their
occupational duties. The first stress category is internal or individual stress. Stress can happen at any
time especially on the internal side as there is always a chance of an officer worrying about the
competency to handle an assignment. If the assignment they are working on is causing individual
stress the feelings of helplessness and vulnerability starts to happen when they feel the pressure of
trying to finish an assignment. Officers start to feel the internal stress that everyone is counting on
them to get the assignment they are working on in perfect working order. Since crime never sleeps the
assignments that make officers internally stress over each assignment critical which can lead to more
time being spent on duty rather than off duty. The dearth of time for personal development can
translate into divorce, suicide, alcoholism, or burnout . The stress of the job and having a family takes
its toll but those who can cope with the internal stress of their job and family are the one that can have
both at the same time. Although there are some factors of internal stress that can lead officers to
eventually end their career with no family, no friends other than a few cops and no outside interests
Officers that have internal stress can have feelings that their trapped in their profession because the
internal stress of being a law enforcement officers is just to

CEO of BP Essay
When Robert Horton left his position as Chairman and CEO of BP, the company was in financial
trouble and the employee morale was notably low. The company was experiencing losses, the debt to
equity ratio was out of control, and the company had positioned itself in so many diverse markets that
most of the employees had no idea what the company mission and goals were. When David Simon
took over as CEO, he was faced with the daunting task of turning the wayward company around.
Simon accomplished this task for three reasons: he diagnosed and modified the organizational culture;
he possessed important leadership skills; and he knew how to motivate employees.
One of the biggest deficiencies of Horton s management was his attempt to Americanize ... Show

The drive Simon possessed was magnified through his years of school and his progression through the
company. The case illustrates Simon s drive with the story of him being told by a teacher that he
should go into industry. She was implying he was not an intellectual but this criticism only fueled his
drive. These are just a few of the characteristics Simon possessed in addition to being a good
communicator and being able to inspire trust.
In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to motivate
his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was the
ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon set simple
goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their progress. Not only
was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped reward the employees in
timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to achieve as he was described
as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without them really knowing he is
doing it (Davidson).
All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite employees
and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of BP and in
time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP, his approach
was not without flaw. One

The Effects Of Playing Games On The Classroom Essay
When I was a teenager, I loved playing games and it was the common interest I shared with my
friends. Yet our interest and enjoyment in gameplay did not always give us pleasant experiences.
Playing games were considered to be waste of times and looked down upon by parents, school
teachers, or even other students. When the events of game related social problems occurred, we had to
overcome severe criticisms from the others. For example, in my middle school, one teacher criticized
students for playing games and blamed them for dropping the average score of the class when my
class ranked last in final exam. Some of the students questioned the logics for his regular derogation
for the game. Rather than educative response or constructive conversation, they were confronted with
the call to the teacher s office and punishment of an apology letter after school. I was one of the
students who had to write ten pages of apology letter. When I finally finished and went back home, I
had a serious conversation with the parents about my friends and our interests in games. Even though
playing games was my favorite activity, it was also a big cause of problems in my childhood. The fact
that my mother does not know to this day that I was a Star Craft representative of my middle school
senior class for the student association tournament.

Japanese Americans From The 1950s Essay
In this paper, the story of the Japanese Americans from the 1940s will be discussed in detail. In
addition, the information on how they were put into camps when the United States was attacked by
Japanese airplanes in 1942 will be explained. Also, the reaction of Japanese Americans will be
presented as well as some of their beliefs about interracial marriages. In the Japanese American film, it
explains that the attack of the Japanese s regime against the United States caused a war against Japan,
but it also affected Japanese who were born in the United States. The film, it also explained how the
United States Government violated the rights of thousands of US citizens from Japanese descendants
because they were put into camps and treated as enemies due to the fact that the Japanese regime
attacked the United States. Thousands of Japanese were put into camps in Manzanar, California. The
Japanese Americans were isolated from society. In 1988, Donald Reagan apologized to the Japanese
people and gave them monetarily compensation for the injustice they experienced by the American
Government during the 1940s. According to the film, the children of those who were put into camps
did not know about what had happened until they grown and were asked about the topic of the
Japanese camps. The older generation stated that they did not reveal the truth to their children because
they did not want to create hate in their children. Also, in the film it is stated that many children from

Book Review Of The BookHoles, By Louis Sachar
The title of the book I read is Holes, which was written by Louis Sachar. This classic is taken place
not far back in time, and is mostly placed at Camp Green Lake. Camp Green Lake is a detention camp
for troubled boys. It used to have a beautiful lake long ago, but after years and years the lake and the
town dried up. In the book s present time its dry land is used to teach the young men to clean up their
act. They must dig holes constantly with a specific diameter and depth. The heat is roaring and the
dangerous animals of the desert are mentioned. Stanley Yelnats is the main character who is from a
poor family. His family has very bad luck... they believe it s a curse from his great great grandfather.
This young innocent guy is still in his teen years. In the story Stanley is wrongly accused of stealing a
pair of shoes; he then went to court. He was lucky enough to have a choice to either go to jail for a
short period of time or to go to Camp Green Lake. Stanley thought the camp would be fun because he
has never been to one. When Stanley arrives at the camp he kind of feels intimidated because of all the
rough boys there. After accepting each other s differences they become friends then he meets Zero (his
actual name in the story is Hector.) That s what they call him because he doesn t know how to read
and he barely says anything. Yelnats feels bad about this, so with his free time he teaches Zero how to
read little by little. Soon after becoming close friends

Arguments In Favor Of Scottish Independence
Those who are for Independence for Scotland say that they could be one of the richest countries
because of their oil industry, not have to bear the problems the rest of the UK is going through, and
not have to worry about their population since their immigration rate is increasing. On the other hand,
those who are not in favor of Scottish independence say that they should not depend on oil since it
may run out sometime later, it s debt would only increase, and that Scotland s population has a
negative growth rate, that would lead to a smaller population in the future. Scotland has been part of
the UK, which consists of 4 parts/countries (Scotland, Northern Ireland, Wales, and England), since

The Soul Stays the Same in Plato
I think, Socrates, he said, that on this line of argument any man, even the dullest, would agree that the
soul is altogether more like that which always exists in the same state rather than like that which does
not (Plato, Phaedo 79e)
In this paper I will argue that the soul is not necessarily unchanging and eternal, as many of Plato s
arguments would suggest otherwise. The main reasons in support of this claim are that there are
questionable conclusions that Plato had reached that challenge the validity of his theory on immortal
souls. The Phaedo is one of Plato s greatest dialogues addressing the essence of the afterlife through a
discussion between Socrates and his students. Plato s main argument within the Phaedo is that there is

I mean such things as good and evil, just and unjust and there are innumerable other opposites which
are generated out of opposites. And I want to show that this holds universally of all opposites; I mean
to say, for example, that anything which becomes greater must become greater after being less. (Plato,
70d) In the dialogue Socrates established that everything is generated from its opposite so must have
an opposite. However, it is valid to question this by interpreting the opposite argument. If to say
everything has an opposite, would the opposite of existence be non existence? Existence is created
from non existence and non existence from existence. If this is true, than would not the existence of a
soul suggest that at some point the soul did not exist? Thus, it may be that the soul had a previous
existence but it does not definitively suggest that the soul is immortal and has no end. This is
somewhat related to Cebes argument that that soul may have existed through many bodies but may
eventually pass on. Plato fails to further explain the cycle of the soul. Socrates does not give detail on
when the cycle of the soul begins or how it may have started. Furthermore, if one relies on the
opposites argument for support of the immortal theory then one could consider that is there was a
beginning to the cycle of the soul than there would be some sort of end.
The Theory of Recollection also has some gaps in its logic

suffering from this disease and the numbers are increasing on a daily basis. Primarily, erectile
dysfunction was associated with adult men who are above 60 years of age; however, research shows
that this disorder can occur in males at any age. But before taking a deeper look into the subject, let s
focus on what erectile dysfunction actually is.
Erectile dysfunction is simply the inability to sustain an erection of the male sexual organ at the time

Monkeys Paw Theme
The Monkey s Paw is a short story written by W. W. Jacobs that tells of a mystical charm and its
effects on the White family. It starts with the family gathered inside their cozy home playing chess.
When suddenly, Sergeant Major Morris is at their door and they invite him in. He tells them of his
time in India and how he came across a magical money paw. He tells them of how the paw can grant
three wishes to three different men. That he is the second owner and that the first owner s final wish
was for death. He then proceeds to throw the paw into the fire. Mr. White instantly retrieves it and
when Morris leaves pays him for it. They family later make a wish for 200 pounds, but nothing

the fire. If you keep it, don t blame me for what happens. Pitch it on the fire like a sensible man
(Jacobs). As you can see, the second warning is substantially apparent in that using the paw would be
ill advised. The third and final warning came right before Morris departure when he tells the Whites
that if they must use it to wish for something sensible. Jacobs illustrates the strong theme throughout
the narrative by using a unique form of structure. The tale is divided into three parts in which each one
has its own climatic movement with each one being stronger than the pervious. Part I is classified as
an exposition because a detached third person narrator describes the overall setting and characters in
the tale. In this part the Monkey s Paw is introduced which plays a key role later in the text. Moreover,
Part II is the rising action of the story because the first tension point is exhibited when the son s death
is revealed, and the company s compensation is exactly 200 pounds what the father wished for. This
indicates that the Monkey s Paw is a cursed omen, just as Sergeant Major Morris said. Lastly, Part III
is the falling action because the resolution is finally given in the last sentence of the

In general, there are four areas that need to be considered for the end user of this product to have a

space. Additionally, should the visualized output itself be allowed to

Nothing Gold Can Stay
Robert Frost wrote Nothing Gold Can Stay in 1923. Frost wrote this poem out of fear that the world
would end He did not publish the entire poem and modified the first section. The first section is what
is featured in print. By not publishing the entire piece this leads me to believe he may have feared
voicing his opinion or the original work was for a specific audience.
This poem is a narritive because it tells what Robert Frost is seeing. He is seeing the begining of
spring and he is also talking about
Nothing Gold Can Stay. It means that everything beautiful can t stick around.
Although there is not heavy repitition in the poem, Frost uses the word gold multiple times.

Nature is the character because Frost uses personification to bring nature alive; he also makes nature

The poet is deliberately keeping the rest of the poem fromt the readers. He only uses the first two
stanzas because Frost feared that publishing the rest of his poem would create fear in the reader of the
world ending soon. Frost left out the significant fact of WWI had just ended and that he feaded a
greater, larger war was coming next.

Benefits Of Online Counselling
INTRODUCTION
What is counselling? Well, counselling is the application of mental health, psychological or human
development principles, through cognitive, affective, behavioural or systemic interventions and
strategies that address wellness, personal growth, or career development, as well as pathology. This
definition was accepted in October 1997 by the American Counselling Association (ACA). This
counselling service was designed to help clients to understand and clarify their views of their life
space, to learn or to reach their self determined goals through meaningful well informed choices and

number of growing whereby the clients are using the online counselling as a complete replacement to
the traditional office counselling which is the face to face counselling. Online counselling can also
occur in real time, such as in phone conversation and online chatrooms, or in a time delayed format,
such as through e mail messages. Only a number of people realize it, online counselling has been
around for quite a long time than you think which is approximately 40 years or so. The origins of the
online counselling were primarily educational and informational, this eventually progressed to entail
more than just giving advice and developed into the comprehensive counselling once relegated to
office visits. Furthermore for all intents and purposes, the first demonstration of online counselling
emerged in October 1972 during the ICCC (International Conference on Computer Communication),
where a simulated psychotherapy session was held between linked computers in Stanford and UCLA.
After that in 1995, free and fee based mental health services were soon being offered to the public at
large via the internet. Since then the phenomenon has taken the world by

Chapter two is when Thomas Jefferson held a dinner to discuss the country s issue on debt and to pick
a new capital. In order to make sure the then new country stays alive, the leaders had to make choices
that were political. Jefferson s dinner was held for Hamilton and Madison so that the two could settle
their disagreements. Their disagreements were that Hamilton had a financial plan that reached
stalemate and Madison was the opposing faction. The politicians were able to reach an agreement of
Madison not dissuading his party members from not voting for Hamilton s plan, and Hamilton agreed
to locate the new capital on the Potomac River. What persuaded Jefferson to hold this dinner was
Hamilton s melodramatics. Hamilton was so distressed and upset over the fact that his financial plan
wasn t going anywhere that he was certain country wouldn t survive without his plan. Jefferson did
not want the country to fail so early, hence the dinner. Both bills passed with almost similar numbers
that people were convinced a secret meeting took place. Eventually, Jefferson admitted that this dinner
was the worst mistake of his political life, since he was afraid it could tarnish his future. Although
Jefferson believed this was a big mistake, this central event of the early republic was political and at

The Social Marketing Aspects Of Twitter
Research Project 1: Comparing Brand Project This literature review will mainly discuss some
literatures that address on the social marketing aspects of Twitter. With the growing accessibility of the
internet, social media does not only change the dynamics of sustaining human relationships (O Brien,
2011), but enables consumers to establish a social community within a brand. Businesses center their
marketing strategy on social media branding because active engagement implies the domino effects
following the robust electronic word of mouth (eWOM). Barton (2006) defines eWOM as a statement
made by potential customers about a brand or a product, which potentially generates interest in the
category of products and influences purchasing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Expanding beyond microblogs, the ease and openness of messages have made Twitter the best
alternative to reporting and accessing emergencies news such as earthquakes and political movements
(Muralidharan et al., 2011). More importantly, Jansen, Zhang, Sobel and Chowdhury (2009) reported
that approximately one quarter of the tweets touches on brands, among which users seek to provide
information or express opinions about the brand. Consistently, Zhang, Jansen Chowdhury (2011)
indicated that Twitter provides a rich plethora of resources for companies to grasps consumers taste,
trends and promote campaigns through engaging in the eWOM communication process. As shown,
social media platforms become an essential channel for brands to gather audiences and heighten brand
awareness, but no studies have analysed the well established Twitter community of big brands as a
good reference. It is worthy examining how the biggest brands such as McDonalds and KFC
manipulate their tweets on Twitter and uncover the type of messages that both food giants deliver.
There has been a mixture of views among researchers regarding the success measurements of social
marketing (Baumgartner, 2014). The importance of maximising tweets in social branding is
emphasized in Keller (2007) s study. Regardless of the nature of the tweet material, Keller argues that
the more frequent a brand tweets, the more probably it will attend to specific customers. While

Keys for Expansion Unlike many of its competitors, by maintaining the one dollar price tag on all of
the items in its shelves, gave Dollar Tree a tremendous advantage in costumers minds helping it to
grow the size and number of its stores. In order to for the company to expand, some changes had to be
made. Rather than continuing to sell only closeout merchandise, the founders decided for their stores
to be the equivalent of traditional variety stores, which had a large selection of basic goods priced at
one dollar or less. In order for that to work they had to change the way they purchased their
merchandise, which consisted on deals and novelties. They began buying directly from foreign

important was the location of their stores. Since the beginning, when they were still part of K amp;K

concentrating on opening stores in strip centers where their stores would be anchored to large grocery

Mass Media: Development and Literacy
HUM/186
Oct 30, 2017
Pedro S. Ortiz In my 20 years of living I can say that the things that I am used to seeing my parents
generation where not use to seeing. The reason for this is because of the time deafferents, many things
have change over all or have progressed. Somethings that have changed rapidly over time is mass
media, mass media has progressed fast over the years. Coming out with new technology and changing
the way people work and view this world. In my parents generation the only media there was, was
newspapers, and interactions with other people. Now and days, media is seen all over and in many
different was. Newspapers, internet, cell phones (smart phones), radio, television, and much more.
This is what brings me to my topic that I will be talking about and that is the major development in the
evolution of mass media in the last century. In the last century, media has grown to be this world s
number one topic. In this present time, many things have changed so much some more than others.
Over the years since my parents radios, television, and smart phones have transformed the way that
mass media works and functions. Radios have always been around but the way they look, function
have changed and now and days radios are everywhere especially cars. Radios has always been used
for internment and the media of course. Phones have been around for a little now but because of the

Princess Cut Cons
The princess cut has been around since the 1970s, so it s relatively new when compared to other types
of cuts that have been around for hundreds of years. The princess cut can be one of the least common
types of cuts, too. Really fantastic, brilliant and flashy princess cut engagement rings are rare, yet the
price isn t terribly high compared to other cuts.
Pros of the Princess Cut Engagement Ring
Less Expensive than Some Cuts
When compared to some of the other cuts, the princess is less expensive. Cutting of the diamond with
its facets will determine how much is wasted and cut from the diamond itself. This can be a
determining factor in the price of the diamond cut.

Women s Influence On Society
In the Later Middle Ages in Europe, power was one of the main drives on society. The limited amount
of people who had power in society gained it through religious or governmental affiliation. Since the
church and the christian faith was the main aspect of, generally, everyone s lives during that time,
those who held religious powers played important roles in society. However, power was not even
among the different genders of society. In a male dominated society, women scarcely could have
power in society. Women could primary receive power through some type of religious affiliation, but
could not hold powers in the government. Nonetheless, they were able to influence society through the
little power that they did have. Their power derived from the prestige of being a religious leader.
Nonetheless, the little power women had was often questioned by men. Source documents 11 5, 11 6,
and 12 5 explore women in society during these times. Although similar in being in the time period of
the middle ages, each document also has characteristic differences about women during that time. In
her Letter to Gregory XI, Catherine of Siena uses her status as a nun to influence the main political
and religious issue of that time. She wrote to Pope Gregory XI urging him to relocate the religious
capital from Avignon back to its original location in Rome. Previously, Pope Clement V had relocated
the capital to Avignon for secular reason. After the relocation, the succeeding popes

The Importance Of The Carnival Of Venice
The Carnival of Venice (Carnevale di Venezia) is a huge celebration taken place in Venice, Italy. This
extraordinary event takes place in the streets of the city with the center of attention at the St. Mark s
Square, in Venice. At times, there are events such as masquerade balls that take place in ancient
Venetian buildings (Bonadonna, 2017). Socially, this event contains individuals of all ages. Children
gather together with their family members, friends and neighbors to celebrate the final days of eating
meat, fats, and sugars, before the holiday Lent has arrived (Walks of Italy, 2016). Recently tourists
from all over the world traveled to Venice during this time to experience this unique event. This
celebration is known for having each participant wear a unique and unusual mask. With these masks,
individuals cannot be judged on their roles such as their race, gender, or age (SlowItaly, 2013).
Culturally, Roman Catholics believe that during the Fridays of the 40 days of Lent, individuals should
not eat meat to honor Jesus Christ, who suffered for his followers and died on the cross on a Friday.
The activity pattern of giving up meat was chosen due to the fact that it is known to be a worthy

Icek Ajzen Theory Of Planned Behavior
Theory of Planned Behavior Dana Hall
In today s society, we have a mental health crisis that affects everyone, especially the veteran
population. Mental health crisis range from one extreme to another being death, suicide or homicide.
A goal for health care providers is to prevent these types of those extremes from happening. The most
widely used social cognition model for predicting and explaining health behavior is the Theory of
Planned Behavior (Ogden, 2003).
Icek Ajzen s Theory of Planned Behavior was used as a framework to explain the relationship between
one s attitude and behavior and whether or not it can be predicted and or prevented. What the Theory
of Planned Behavior focuses on are three kinds of views, behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and
control beliefs (Ajzens, 1971). Atzens suggests that behavioral beliefs focus on the likelihood of the
outcome of behavior and the evaluation and whether or not they have a positive or negative attitude
toward the behavior itself. Normative belief focuses on the expectations of others and the motivation
to comply with those said expectations and if it is viewed as a result of social pressure or subjective
norm (Ajzens, 1971). Control beliefs go on to focus on factors that may positively or negatively
influence performance of that behavior and the thought power of those factors and perceived
behavioral control. When you consider all of these three views, you develop behavioral intention
(1971). It is suggested

Density And Sg By Hydrometer Method
Density and SG by Hydrometer Method
Objective
The purpose of this practical is to determine the specific gravity and density of samples of methylated
spirit of different concentrations, using a hydrometer.
Introduction
Theory
Specific gravity (SG) is defined as the ratio between the density of a liquid to the density of water at a
temperature of 4oC and pressure of 1 atm. It is of great importance when quoting the specific gravity
of a substance to refer to the temperature and pressure at which the measurement was taken, especially
because the density of water tends to vary significantly with temperature. For example, at 15oC the
density of water is 0.9991 g/cm3, while at 4oC the density is at its maximum of 1 g/cm3. Pressure, on
the other hand, is almost always 1 atm. It is most common to refer specific gravity to a temperature
and pressure of 4oC and 1 atm.
Hydrometer
The hydrometer is an instrument usually made of glass, which is used to measure the specific gravity
or density of a liquid. It is composed of a cylindrical stem over a bulb that is weighted with a small
amount either mercury or lead to ensure it floats upright.
The function of a hydrometer is a result of Archimedes principle which states that any body which is
partially or completely submerged in a fluid at rest, is acted on by an upward buoyant force which is
equal in magnitude to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body. Consequently, the hydrometer will
sink further, the lower the density of the

Observing a Limiting Reactant
Observing a Limiting Reactant
An experiment was carried out to predict the limiting reactant in a chemical reaction between
Magnesium and Hydrochloric acid, using the mole concept.
Limiting Reactant:
It is the reactant that will deplete or will be used up first during a chemical reaction. Limiting reactant
also determine how long the reaction will last for.
Balanced Equation:
Mg + 2HCl = MgCl2 + H2
The balanced equation is needed to determine the mole ratio between the two reactants. From the
equation we know that the equation mole ratio is 1:2. However, we need the actual mole ratio to find
out the limiting reactant. The actual mole ratio is calculated below:
Moles of 5.0g of Mg = 5.0/24.305 = 0.21 moles
Moles of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The second piece of Mg was added to the test tube to see if all the HCl had been used up, reacting
with first piece of Mg. However, there was a reaction between HCl and the second piece of Mg,
meaning that excess HCl was added to the first piece of Mg, from which some remained unused.
While adding HCl one drop at a time we noticed that HCl had been the limiting reactant throughout
the experiment till the last stage when we added just enough HCL to completely dissolve the
Magnesium strip. At this stage Magnesium was the limiting reactant. This proves that the hypothesis
was correct.
Volume needed to completely react with the first strip of Mg:
Moles of Mg = 0.07/24.305 = 2.89 x 10 3
From the equation, we know that 2 moles of HCl reacts with every mole of Mg.
Therefore, 2 x (2.89 x 10 3) = 5.78 x 10 3
The concentration of HCl = 6M.
(5.78 x 10 3)/6 x 1000 ml
= 0.96 ml of HCl is needed to completely react with the first strip of Mg.
The mass of Mg must be measured at every stage to determine the ratio. The volume of HCl added to
Mg, needs to be noted down too.
Patience is the key in such type of experiment; it seems we

Who Is The Bystander In Lord Of The Flies
The first psychological theory to focus on is the bystander effect: a social psychological experience
where an individual, usually placed in a group, is less motivated towards a goal to benefit self or
victims. The bystander effect can be shown in various situations, such as bullying, protesting, debates
and more. In the novel Lord of the Flies by William Golding, there are many instances where
characters, mostly littluns, supported as bystanders to the bullying of Piggy by Jack. From the
beginning Jack immediately displays a dislike for Piggy for talking too much, coming to a point where
he insults Piggy by calling him Fatty in front of everyone. This later affects the children s decisions to
vote for a leader, and even though the intelligence...shown was traceable to Piggy...there was a
stillness about Ralph as he sat that marked him out: there was his size, and attractive appearance; and
most powerfully, there is the conch (22). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Golding displays an apathetic tone on the subject of bullying and the bystander effect; for example,
Golding doesn t reveal much information on the bystanders, but mainly focuses on the struggles Piggy
has to overcome to be heard, in other words, the bystanders are just background noise. The bystander
effect shown in the children strike a significance because it torments Piggy to be recognised only as a
fat kid with no other important role. Additionally, the bystander effect emotionally abuses victims,
such as Piggy, into believing no one else will help, and in return, bystanders will accept bullying and
restrain from interfering unless someone stronger stands up. In modern society, the bystander effect
presents in a majority of bullying situations, just like in Lord of the

The Australian legal system is based on a fundamental belief in the rule of law, justice and the
independence of the judiciary. All people Australians and non Australians alike are treated equally
before the law and protections exist to ensure that people are not treated indiscriminately or unfairly
by governments or officials. In saying this, the Australian government will press the Egyptians at the
highest level to try to free Australian journalist Peter Greste, sentenced to seven years jail after being
convicted of supporting the Muslim Brotherhood. The court also found guilty, two of Greste s Al

example of Mr. Greste is a relevant and recent example of international law in relation to terrorism
because of the existence of fabricated information and how we have been led to perceive the

Cultural Imperialism And Iranian Art
Cultural Hegemony and Iranian Art (Iranian Art as Political Discourse)
The following paper will be an evaluation of Iranian artist and the role they play as women living in
exile. The paper will discuss how art becomes a type of political discourse against patriarchal
governments. To do this I will look at the work of Parastou Forohaur an Iranian artist whose parents
were killed when she was young because they were political activist fighting to defend the rights of all
people women and men included. In the paper I will use various sources and terms that have been
discussed throughout the semester in a short literature review. Shirin Neshat will also be discussed and
the role that she plays in created fragmented narratives that help women feel empowered in their lives
in Iran.
As a member of the artistic community something that has always bothered me is the usage of specific
pronouns during artistic compliments. What do I mean by pronouns do you ask? I am talking about
gender pronouns of course, specifically girl, female, and lady. Something that often occurs in art is
statements like the following, which I addressed earlier in the proposal for this project: she is a good
girl drummer, or she is a great female guitarist. Why do these superficial compliments exist? This
paper will address that the importance of pointing out these issues to thus be able to display these
women s resilience along the way. These women have a very interesting role in that they create a

Women In Naval Special Warfare
The first woman was introduced to the active service in the United State military in 1917, with Loretta
Walsh enlisting in the Navy to serve as a Yeoman in World War I. A woman could not serve in a
combative capacity until 23 January, 2013 when then Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta lifted the
military s ban on women serving in such roles. Recently Naval Special Warfare has become the latest
elite force within the military to open its doors to the potential for women operators. This of course
raises a list of concerns, the most prominent of which is whether or not a female is capable of meeting
the physical standards which Naval Special Warfare has adamantly stated will not be altered for
members of either sex. This potential for a lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Which begs the question is it tactically feasible, or a responsible use of resources to incorporate
women into the SEALs. Attrition is an unavoidable part of military, the toll war fighting takes on one s
body leads to a high turnover rate through retirement, and the death of a teammate is an ever lurking
possibility. Unless there is a drastic rethinking of sleeping, hygiene and other general living
arrangements and the political correctness of opposite gender cohabitation while forward deployed or
in the field, if a sailor is killed and the next man up happens to actually be a woman, their ability to
replace a critical team member could be suspect. Even if a woman s placement within a team is
planned before they begin a mission or deployment, the question must be asked if it is financially
responsible to provide the female specific facilities required to deploy such a mixed sex team. As afore
mentioned, there will likely be relatively few women who successfully become special warfare
operators and the cost of facilitating their deployment in contrast to their numbers would logically be
thought of as inefficient. From a numerical standpoint, Naval Special Warfare s closest operational
partner Naval Special Operations (EOD) which has allowed women since its inception is currently

The Four Gospels Compare And Contrast
Gospel is an old English word meaning good news. When comparing the four gospels they are all
unified, but each gospel can have slight differences to them. Whether is literary structure, length, how
many teachings, important events, different significance, geography or chronology; they all are
correlated to tell us Jesus story, in their own way. In like manner, God didn t give us one explanation
from an confined individual. Rather, God educates us about the broad richness of Jesus life through a
numerous prophet witnesses. Moreover, God works through well documented and a valid history, not
through confidential revelations to a single person. The prophetic witnesses of the Gospels endorse the
truth that God himself is speaking. Each Gospel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is mentioned to by Paul as Luke the beloved physician (Col. 4:14). Luke fixed forth the humanity
of the Son of Man and cites it in chronological order the life of Christ. Being a physician, he is more
precise when using language. For example, when he indicates a leper he uses the identical medical
term to describe the circumstance, for example full of leprosy (Luke 5:12). Luke s gospel is
particularly focused towards an individual named Theophilus and is focused on the complete story and
past events of Jesus Christ from his birth and ministry to his crucifixion and resurrection. A major
theme in Luke s gospel shows how important the poor were to Jesus and how we should not neglect
the poor. Examples of this are seen when the book talks about the distinctive beatitudes blessed you
are poor...hunger now...weep now... and the distinctive woes woes to you that are rich...that are
full...that laugh now... which overall say, money and power will tend to bring judgement upon you. In
addition, the gospel of Luke refers to certain parables like the Rich man and Lazarus. This sends a
message to warn the rich who tend to trust in their riches more than in God, wealth tends to pull us
away from God and that if we neglect the poor and prioritize our riches more we will go to hell.
Asking oneself is your existence a blessing for the

revolutionary who led an Indian national political and military force against Britain and the Western
powers during World War II. Popularly known as Netaji (literally Respected Leader ), Bose was one of
the most prominent leaders in the Indian independence movement and is a legendary figure in India
today. Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa to Janakinath Bose and Prabhabati Debi,
and is presumed to have died 18 August 1945 (although this is disputed[clarification needed]).[citation

His political views and the alliances he made with Nazi and other militarist regimes at war with
Britain have been the cause of arguments among historians and politicians, with some accusing him of
fascist sympathies, while others in India have been more sympathetic towards the realpolitik that
guided his social and political choices.
He is presumed to have died on 18 August 1945 in a plane crash in Taiwan, though the evidence for
his death in such an accident has not been universally accepted (see below).
[edit] Early life
Subhas Chandra Bose was born in a Bengali Kayasth family on January 23, 1897 in Cuttack, Orissa,
to Janakinath Bose, an advocate and Prabhavati Devi. He was the ninth child of a total of fourteen
siblings. He studied in an Anglo school at Cuttack until the sixth standard and then shifted to
Ravenshaw Collegiate School. From there he went to the Presidency College where he studied briefly.
His nationalistic temperament came to light when he was expelled for assaulting Professor Oaten for
his anti India comments. Bose later topped the matriculation examination of Calcutta province in 1911
and passed his B.A. in 1918 in philosophy from the Scottish Church College under University of
Calcutta.
Bose went to study in Fitzwilliam Hall of the University of Cambridge, and matriculated,

A Very Brief Biography of Albert Einstein
To become a scientist is not an easy path. You start from zero and have to start making people believe
in you. That is one of the hardest task you have to do as a scientist but along come other task. You
have to go through a lot of experiments and trial and error. People may start believing your thoughts
and equations. The fact that they believe them does not make you a scientist until you can prove your
theory. Albert Einstein for decades had the best thoughts but was not consider a scientist until he had
physically proved his theory.
Albert Einstein was considered a middle class Jew. He was born March 14, 1879 in Württemberg,
Germany. Albert Einstein family relocated to Munich, Germany and he began to go to school there.
When he was a going to school things that got his attention were math, science and music. Even
though he was interested in those subjects he dropped out of school 1894 as, many teens do. Then
relocated himself in Switzerland in 1902 were he ended up going back to school. When he began
going to school there he started to take a science course. Einstein father passed away thinking his son
was a disgrace to the family.
Albert Einstein was a ladies man he would play his violin at ladies lunches and cocktail parties.
Although, he was a ladies man he fell in love with the only girl in his physics class. During these
times many parents opposed to their child marriage and Albert Einstein parents were one of them. His
parents were against that marriage

Tablets Vs. Textbooks
Books will soon be obsolete in the schools...Scholars will soon be instructed through the eye. It is
possible to touch every branch of human knowledge with the motion picture (Thomas Edison). An
idea that was destined for failure has now been made into the key source to get students and teachers
more interacted while in a classroom setting. Tablets such as the iPad and the Microsoft surface have
made this idea possible, showing students that there is another alternative to the traditional method
which would be a printed version of the textbook. Tablets are portable computers that use a
touchscreen as its primary input device, meaning that both keyboard and mouse are both physically
located on the screen. Early Tablets were built to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stephanie Hedge emphasizes that . Tablets can use polling and clicker technology, whiteboard
projection, and more. A single tablet has the potential to replace a suite of technologies, and is perfect
for classrooms without much technology support (parag.5).According to this evidence, tablets can
have multiple purposes. Tablets can be used as a device for video and audio interaction. This
eliminates or removes a lifeless environment that is now current in the classroom. .According to the
University Of Washington Course management tools such as Canvas allow instructors to organize all
the resources students need for a class (e.g. syllabi, assignments, readings, online quizzes), provide
valuable grading tools, and create spaces for discussion, document sharing, and video and audio
commentary. All courses are automatically given a Canvas site (parag.7).This rebuttable university
believes that tablets are a great way to stay organized. This allows teacher to better manage their
grading system, therefore allowing them to be more aware of whether the student passing or failing.
To sum up, teachers who used technology as a way to teach students end up establishing a better
learning environment.
Tablets would be the better alternative as compared to the printed versions of class work.
According to Andre McNeil when you consider that certain sites sell textbooks of a much cheaper
price: E books still will be the more affordable options. Quick review of

  • 2. Roles Of Women In The 1800s Essay Roles of Women in the late 1800s Around the late 1800s, the roles of women were different than todays. Women could not participate in majority of the occupations that men are allowed too. Women could not vote, they were unauthorized to own property, and were restricted to working. Women were only seen as stay at home wives, and completed all the duties as a housewife. Women cooked, cleaned, and nurtured the children while the fathers worked outside the home. The womanhood was considered to be piety and domesticity with submissiveness and passivity. Sarah Josepha Hale, editor of Godey s Lady s book, characterized women as one who was timid and delicate, demanded protection, and possessed a sweet dependency. Men were symbolized as aggressive, materialistic, and competitive; therefore, they ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Women often worked as domestic servants, doing the jobs of nursing, office work, teaching, and sales. By the mid 1870s, states in the North passed the Married Women Property Act, which allowed married women to own and control property in their own right. In some states, the law varied widely; however, this epitomized the transfer of property rights and made improvements to the status of American married women. Teachers from the North were selected to educate former slaves. In 1869, over 9 thousand teachers were initiated to instruct former slaves. Over half a million African Americans, ranging from all ages, were inducted in elementary schools. Before the Civil War, it was impossible for most southern black females to receive an ... Environmental Effects Of A Shopping Mall Tearing up the park and replacing with a shopping to fulfill the gluttonous greed of our capitalist nation, will not only harm the ecosystem and cost millions of tax paying dollars, but severely harm the children physically and mentally. A shopping mall is a large investment to make, referring to the ecosystem and money. Constructing a pollutant in our town will aggravate the ecosystem. Cutting down trees will cause an oxygen deficiency as well as harm any species and ecosystems living there. The process of building a mall emits air pollution into the atmosphere, which will also occur when the mall is finished. Moving on, mall have not been making business of late and are shutting down. Time calculates By 2022, analysts estimate that 1 out of every 4 malls in the U.S. could be out of business (Time). Manufacturing a mall now is not the best idea economically. In addition, Fixr makes us aware that malls run at an average of $24.9 million to complete (Fixr). Paying 24.9 million dollars to build soon to close mall that will hurt the ecosystem is a poor judgment call. Furthermore, in our current society, children are being limited to the access to the clean outside world. • 5. Participation Awards Should Be Banned The notion of participation awards in childhood activities have raised a spark debate; while awarding each child with a uniform trophy supports equality, what s there to say about the detrimental effect on motivation if everyone is labeled a winner? The expectation of an award or certificate, in conclusion to any activity, is viewed as a guarantee; often, they serve as the sole motivation point for those uninterested in the activity itself as they re aware they ll be a winner regardless. This inflated sense of self worth brought upon by miniscule awards, most especially participation, leaves children unprepared for adult life as a functioning member of society. While generous in thought, participation awards support a distorted view of reality ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In developing nations, there are winners and losers; there are people who succeed in life, and people who simply fail. This is an accepted thought amongst nations such as Brazil, China, India, and Lebanon. The culture of these nations believes that there are no rewards for doing what is expected of you. Simply showing up does not warrant you an award of any kind, it s the unique work ethic and efforts you push yourself to achieve that result in success. For example, the culture of India places a high importance on education; there are no rewards in place for students that simply show up to class every day, which is merely an expectation you must uphold. In the United States, school systems reward their students with participation trophies at the end of the year for merely showing up! The award culture in the U.S. has altered the expectation of success within the nation; the younger generation feels they re entitled to much more than they are possibly responsible enough for. The culture of Middle Eastern, and Asian nations execute an entirely different expectation of success; awards are reserved for those who exhibit unique traits and actions, not to those that simply participate by showing up. These up and coming nations are quickly replacing America in several industries, which is perhaps due to award system they have in place that only celebrate those that work exceptionally ... • 6. Germans Essay By the twentieth century over two million Germans have immigrated to the United States. Regardless of where they settled they came from a multitude of areas and for a variety of reasons. They were a highly diversified group in terms of regional origin, religious and political orientation, education, and socioeconomic standing. There were a multitude of push factors, or issues that caused Germans to want to leave Germany from inside the country. One of those is that during the time of World War One, Germany s government started having mandatory military service. This meant that any male over the age of 15 would either have to serve in Germany s military or they would have to leave the country. Many people did not want to serve, and as a ... Another pull factor was that relatives and friends of German natives who migrated first would write back and encourage others to follow. This led to chain migrations . We can see by looking at 4 census report where most of the Germans migrated to where they came to New York. I found that the 1880 and 1920 were pretty similar. There were a few more counties that increased but most stayed the same. I t wasn t until the 1960 census that things started really changing. I also noticed that the 3 counties in upper New York: St. Lawrence, Franklin and Clinton and Washington county which is located on the eastern side were always in the lowest percentile through all 4 censuses, they never changed. Also after the 1920 census more Germans were living in the NY City area then before. Also Erie County, which was the highest in the 1880 census, stayed high throughout out all 4 censuses. From the first census to the last, it seems the trend for the most counties with the highest German population were moving out toward western New York. Looking at the 1880 census the county with the highest amount of German was Erie County. Why was the county such a popular place to come? The Erie Canal had opened in 1825. The first stress category is internal or individual stress. Stress can happen at any time especially on the internal side as there is always a chance of an officer worrying about the competency to handle an assignment. If the assignment they are working on is causing individual stress the feelings of helplessness and vulnerability starts to happen when they feel the pressure of trying to finish an assignment. In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to motivate his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was the ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon set simple goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their progress. Not only was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped reward the employees in timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to achieve as he was described as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without them really knowing he is doing it (Davidson). All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite employees and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of BP and in time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP, his approach was not without flaw. One ... When the events of game related social problems occurred, we had to overcome severe criticisms from the others. The Soul Stays the Same in Plato I think, Socrates, he said, that on this line of argument any man, even the dullest, would agree that the soul is altogether more like that which always exists in the same state rather than like that which does not (Plato, Phaedo 79e) In this paper I will argue that the soul is not necessarily unchanging and eternal, as many of Plato s arguments would suggest otherwise. The main reasons in support of this claim are that there are questionable conclusions that Plato had reached that challenge the validity of his theory on immortal souls. The Phaedo is one of Plato s greatest dialogues addressing the essence of the afterlife through a discussion between Socrates and his students. Plato s main argument within the Phaedo is that there is an ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I mean such things as good and evil, just and unjust and there are innumerable other opposites which are generated out of opposites. And I want to show that this holds universally of all opposites; I mean to say, for example, that anything which becomes greater must become greater after being less. (Plato, 70d) In the dialogue Socrates established that everything is generated from its opposite so must have an opposite. However, it is valid to question this by interpreting the opposite argument. If to say everything has an opposite, would the opposite of existence be non existence? Existence is created from non existence and non existence from existence. If this is true, than would not the existence of a soul suggest that at some point the soul did not exist? Thus, it may be that the soul had a previous existence but it does not definitively suggest that the soul is immortal and has no end. This is somewhat related to Cebes argument that that soul may have existed through many bodies but may eventually pass on. Plato fails to further explain the cycle of the soul. Socrates does not give detail on when the cycle of the soul begins or how it may have started. Furthermore, if one relies on the opposites argument for support of the immortal theory then one could consider that is there was a beginning to the cycle of the soul than there would be some sort of end. As you can see, the second warning is substantially apparent in that using the paw would be ill advised. The third and final warning came right before Morris departure when he tells the Whites that if they must use it to wish for something sensible. Jacobs illustrates the strong theme throughout the narrative by using a unique form of structure. The tale is divided into three parts in which each one has its own climatic movement with each one being stronger than the pervious. Part I is classified as an exposition because a detached third person narrator describes the overall setting and characters in the tale. In this part the Monkey s Paw is introduced which plays a key role later in the text. Moreover, Part II is the rising action of the story because the first tension point is exhibited when the son s death is revealed, and the company s compensation is exactly 200 pounds what the father wished for. Big displays of mannequins were placed around the stores in order to attract customers to that certain brand. The models would be wearing outfits with the clothing only pertaining to that brand. When looking for that outfit at times, they would make it convenient and placed all the clothing in the same area so that the customers could easily just buy the outfit. Another way they would set up the clothing is that they would scatter in different parts of the outfits around the brands space in order to get customers to look for it and also see different articles of clothing that may interest them. • 21. Evaluation Of A Business Project Essay In general, there are four areas that need to be considered for the end user of this product to have a pleasant and meaningful interaction with it. First, the structure of the interface. It is critical that the environment have both flexibility and easy of use. Given that the average user of this project can be considered to be relatively technically savvy, it is reasonable to provide them with a detailed level of configuration such that they are comfortable programming in the environment. The editor should have variety of options for settings as simple as syntax highlighting colors or as complex as text completion preferences. Second, the manner in which the user interacts with the interface needs to be refined. Precedents in this space already exist, the iPython Notebook3 being the most popular. This software functions with an input output format wherein the user works on a block of code and then runs it to see the result. However, this model has several flaws were it to be used as the format of this project: it lacks true interactivity the user is constrained to a question and answer model rather than provided with an inspectable, living code. Third, the manner in which output is displayed has to be given careful consideration. For example, should the output be constrained to two dimensional visualizations? It may be that certain data structures are more clearly elucidated in three dimensional space. Additionally, should the visualized output itself be allowed to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The limited amount of people who had power in society gained it through religious or governmental affiliation. Since the church and the christian faith was the main aspect of, generally, everyone s lives during that time, those who held religious powers played important roles in society. However, power was not even among the different genders of society. In a male dominated society, women scarcely could have power in society. Mental health crisis range from one extreme to another being death, suicide or homicide. A goal for health care providers is to prevent these types of those extremes from happening. The most widely used social cognition model for predicting and explaining health behavior is the Theory of Planned Behavior (Ogden, 2003). Icek Ajzen s Theory of Planned Behavior was used as a framework to explain the relationship between one s attitude and behavior and whether or not it can be predicted and or prevented. What the Theory of Planned Behavior focuses on are three kinds of views, behavioral beliefs, normative beliefs and control beliefs (Ajzens, 1971). Atzens suggests that behavioral beliefs focus on the likelihood of the outcome of behavior and the evaluation and whether or not they have a positive or negative attitude toward the behavior itself. Normative belief focuses on the expectations of others and the motivation to comply with those said expectations and if it is viewed as a result of social pressure or subjective norm (Ajzens, 1971). Control beliefs go on to focus on factors that may positively or negatively influence performance of that behavior and the thought power of those factors and perceived behavioral control. • 34. Density And Sg By Hydrometer Method Density and SG by Hydrometer Method Objective The purpose of this practical is to determine the specific gravity and density of samples of methylated spirit of different concentrations, using a hydrometer. Introduction Theory Specific gravity (SG) is defined as the ratio between the density of a liquid to the density of water at a temperature of 4oC and pressure of 1 atm. It is of great importance when quoting the specific gravity of a substance to refer to the temperature and pressure at which the measurement was taken, especially because the density of water tends to vary significantly with temperature. For example, at 15oC the density of water is 0.9991 g/cm3, while at 4oC the density is at its maximum of 1 g/cm3. Pressure, on the other hand, is almost always 1 atm. It is most common to refer specific gravity to a temperature and pressure of 4oC and 1 atm. Hydrometer The hydrometer is an instrument usually made of glass, which is used to measure the specific gravity or density of a liquid. It is composed of a cylindrical stem over a bulb that is weighted with a small amount either mercury or lead to ensure it floats upright. The function of a hydrometer is a result of Archimedes principle which states that any body which is partially or completely submerged in a fluid at rest, is acted on by an upward buoyant force which is equal in magnitude to the weight of the fluid displaced by the body. Consequently, the hydrometer will sink further, the lower the density of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

While adding HCl one drop at a time we noticed that HCl had been the limiting reactant throughout the experiment till the last stage when we added just enough HCL to completely dissolve the Magnesium strip. At this stage Magnesium was the limiting reactant. This proves that the hypothesis was correct. • 40. Cultural Imperialism And Iranian Art Cultural Hegemony and Iranian Art (Iranian Art as Political Discourse) The following paper will be an evaluation of Iranian artist and the role they play as women living in exile. The paper will discuss how art becomes a type of political discourse against patriarchal governments. To do this I will look at the work of Parastou Forohaur an Iranian artist whose parents were killed when she was young because they were political activist fighting to defend the rights of all people women and men included. In the paper I will use various sources and terms that have been discussed throughout the semester in a short literature review. Shirin Neshat will also be discussed and the role that she plays in created fragmented narratives that help women feel empowered in their lives in Iran. As a member of the artistic community something that has always bothered me is the usage of specific pronouns during artistic compliments. What do I mean by pronouns do you ask? I am talking about gender pronouns of course, specifically girl, female, and lady. Something that often occurs in art is statements like the following, which I addressed earlier in the proposal for this project: she is a good girl drummer, or she is a great female guitarist. Why do these superficial compliments exist? This paper will address that the importance of pointing out these issues to thus be able to display these women s resilience along the way. These women have a very interesting role in that they create a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Women In Naval Special Warfare The first woman was introduced to the active service in the United State military in 1917, with Loretta Walsh enlisting in the Navy to serve as a Yeoman in World War I. A woman could not serve in a combative capacity until 23 January, 2013 when then Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta lifted the military s ban on women serving in such roles. Recently Naval Special Warfare has become the latest elite force within the military to open its doors to the potential for women operators. This of course raises a list of concerns, the most prominent of which is whether or not a female is capable of meeting the physical standards which Naval Special Warfare has adamantly stated will not be altered for members of either sex. This potential for a lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Which begs the question is it tactically feasible, or a responsible use of resources to incorporate women into the SEALs. Attrition is an unavoidable part of military, the toll war fighting takes on one s body leads to a high turnover rate through retirement, and the death of a teammate is an ever lurking possibility. Unless there is a drastic rethinking of sleeping, hygiene and other general living arrangements and the political correctness of opposite gender cohabitation while forward deployed or in the field, if a sailor is killed and the next man up happens to actually be a woman, their ability to replace a critical team member could be suspect. Even if a woman s placement within a team is planned before they begin a mission or deployment, the question must be asked if it is financially responsible to provide the female specific facilities required to deploy such a mixed sex team. As afore mentioned, there will likely be relatively few women who successfully become special warfare operators and the cost of facilitating their deployment in contrast to their numbers would logically be thought of as inefficient. From a numerical standpoint, Naval Special Warfare s closest operational partner Naval Special Operations (EOD) which has allowed women since its inception is currently ... Whether is literary structure, length, how many teachings, important events, different significance, geography or chronology; they all are correlated to tell us Jesus story, in their own way. In like manner, God didn t give us one explanation from an confined individual. Rather, God educates us about the broad richness of Jesus life through a numerous prophet witnesses. He is mentioned to by Paul as Luke the beloved physician (Col. 4:14). Luke fixed forth the humanity of the Son of Man and cites it in chronological order the life of Christ. Being a physician, he is more precise when using language. For example, when he indicates a leper he uses the identical medical term to describe the circumstance, for example full of leprosy (Luke 5:12). Luke s gospel is particularly focused towards an individual named Theophilus and is focused on the complete story and past events of Jesus Christ from his birth and ministry to his crucifixion and resurrection. A major theme in Luke s gospel shows how important the poor were to Jesus and how we should not neglect the poor. Examples of this are seen when the book talks about the distinctive beatitudes blessed you are poor...hunger now...weep now... and the distinctive woes woes to you that are rich...that are full...that laugh now... which overall say, money and power will tend to bring judgement upon you. In addition, the gospel of Luke refers to certain parables like the Rich man and Lazarus. This sends a message to warn the rich who tend to trust in their riches more than in God, wealth tends to pull us away from God and that if we neglect the poor and prioritize our riches more we will go to hell.
