Rat Brain Case Study
1000 µg rat brain lysate was incubated with 50 µg construct overnight on a shaking incubator at 4°C.
Samples were loaded on a polyacrylamide gel and processed for immunoblotting (see appendix)
Immunoblotting for sacsin and JIP3 interaction
Primary Sacsin and JIP3 antibodies (Santa Cruz cat. sc 515118 and sc 46663) raised in mice were
added in a 1:3000 and 1:2000 ratio respectively to the corresponding membrane sections and
incubated on a shaking incubator for 1 hour. Next, excess antibody was removed by washing 3 times
with TBST. Secondary goat anti mouse HRP antibody (Cedarlane Laboratories cat. 115 035 146) was
added in a 1:4000 ratio to 20 ml of 5% BSA in TBST. The membranes were washed 3 times with
TBST. To image the proteins, 3 ml of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

JIP3 interaction with sacsin domains
To find the critical binding region of sacsin which interacts with JIP3, six well characterized N
terminally GST tagged sacsin deletion constructs, which include the three SIRPTs, DNAJ HEPN,
UBE3A binding site, and UBL domains (Fig.1), were expressed in a bacterial system and used in
pulldown assays to test for JIP3 binding. These domains

The Effects Of Urbanization, Industrialization, And...
In 1892, The University of Chicago became the first university in the United States of America to
establish a department of sociology (Panzarella Vona, 2013). Within a couple of years, the University
of Chicago would become the leading university in developing criminal theories. The top professors
of the sociology department studied in France and Germany where there is an emphasis placed on the
social influence in human behavior by using official records, such as court and welfare records, as
well as individual case histories (Panzarella Vona, 2013). During the early 1900s, researchers from the
University of Chicago wanted to explore the effects of urbanization, industrialization, and
immigration on patterns of social organization in Chicago neighborhoods (Kurbin, 2010). Many
researchers, such as Ernest Burgess and Robert Park, had explored the effects of urbanization,
industrialization and immigration in Chicago neighborhood; however, crime was not a main focus of
study. This would later change when researchers Clifford R. Shaw and Henry D. McKay, from the
University of Chicago, started their research on social organization. Clifford R. Shaw had earned a
M.A in sociology at the University of Chicago in 1921(Panzarella Vona, 2013). After he graduated
from University of Chicago, he continued with his doctoral studies. However, Shaw did not complete
the doctoral program. Shaw would later work as a parole officer for the Illinois State Training School

Impact Of Etfs Trading On Underlying Securities
Because price changes in ETFs directly reflect market information and alter investors behaviours and
asset allocation, the underlying security liquidity and volatility should be scrutinized. The third main
strand of academic literature has revealed that the potential impacts of ETFs trading on underlying
securities, and the markets as a whole, is of substantial interest to both investment professionals and
financial academics. There is an extensive amount of research that emphasises the effects on liquidity,
volatility and valuation. In fact, ETFs impact on the quality of underlying securities is not an
unexplored area to theoretical or empirical academics. Existing studies have examined the effects of
ETFs introduction on their underlying indices or composite securities. Subrahmanyam (1991) and
Gorton et al. (1993) established theoretical models to test basket securities , including index linked
securities or index futures contracts (Charupat and Miu, 2013). The models predicted liquidity
migration to component securities and indicated that the level of diversification of a composite
security is positively correlated with its appeal to liquidity traders. The analysis was based on the idea
that component stocks were diversified (with no firm risk), and the liquidity traders, thus, expected
lower losses to informed traders by trading in composite securities rather than in underlying individual
securities. Due to lower transaction costs, basket securities were more

Her Kozmic Blues music attracted many Hippies and became a living legend. Joplin later died due to
her excessive drug use and she will always be remembered as the woman who made Woodstock a
bigger success than it would have been in her absence.
The Beatles were also extremely influential and fought to save Vietnam. They sang songs in honor of
those dying and they held concerts to motivate people to join the Hippies. The most influential of the
Beatles was probably John Lennon. Lennon was one of the loudest voices fighting the war and he had
a massive effect on people. He grew his beard and hair for Hair
Peace and he was a major icon for Hippies worldwide.
Another icon, although a bit controversial, was Prof. Dr. Timothy Leary of Harvard. Leary said drugs
were a form of mind expansion , meaning that he encouraged the use of drugs recreationally.
Examples of the drugs he encouraged are Marijuana or Hash/Hashish, LSD, and
Psychedelic Mushroom. This arouses a fraction of the controversy revolving around The Hippie
Movement.
To some people the Hippie Movements regime was one that was a negative for the country and for the
world as a whole. Hippies had many characteristics including long hair, sandals instead of shoes, tie
dye and colorful clothing were worn and the use of drugs was present. The use of drugs was one of the

Riordan Manufacturing – Hardware and Software
Riordan Manufacturing Hardware and Software Introduction One of the top priorities at Riordan and
many other businesses is guarding against loss, theft, and waste of the company assets. According to
Bagranoff, Simkin Strand protecting these assets means an organization must focus on developing and
implementing an internal control system. Further, the internal control system must also be capable of
performing other functions like assisting in ensuring data processing is dependable and encouraging
operational efficiency within the business (2008, p. 240). This paper will initially identify the
hardware and software necessary to integrate the conversion cycle into an automated system at
Riordan. Then, the information that needs to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
At this level risked are analyzed and solutions are implemented to prevent problems. When the
preventive control has failed a detective control is implemented. This control is designed to uncover
an undesired problem that has transpired (Dunn, et al, 2004). The third control is the corrective
control, which is designed to restore a system to an approved or last known good state. A company
usually establishes corrective controls to remedy problems that are discovered by the detective
controls. One advisable procedure that can be implemented for this control is establishing training
programs that educate employees about how to use the new automated system that can help them
perform their job functions more efficiently and effectively. It is imperative to understand that for the
integration, any control strategy has to be tailored to address the risks to objectives that management
identifies as unacceptable. The objective should be detecting risks that are materially threatening the
goals of the organization and reducing them to the point that management is more willing to accept.
Generated Reports The reports that need to be generated in an automated system are customer orders,
purchase requisitions, labor requests, and general reports. Customer orders dictate what items are
manufactured and what quantities need to be supplied in a specified time frame (Dunn, et al, 2004). At

External Influences On Gender Identity
I have always identified with the sex I was born with but I have never analyzed what aspects have
made me who I am. Many internal and external sources I has shaped my identity. External factors such
as family, toys and peers have affected my gender identity. Many external factors have been chosen
for me before I was able to make my own decisions. My mother is one of six daughters. By the time
she was 20 she had two daughters of her own. At the age of 39 she had her final child, another
daughter. Growing up I was the youngest of three daughters. My sisters being 22 and 20 years older
than I made me an only child for the most part. Being in a family ran by women I was raised to see
that woman are just as capable as men. My mom became a single mother at a young age when my
sisters were born and shortly after I was born she became a single mother once again. After my fifth
birthday I became a child of divorce. Every Tuesday and Thursday and every other weekend it was
court ordered that I would spend time with my father until my 18th birthday. For 13 years I suffered
from severe anxiety because of his emotional abuse and bad temper. It was not until the day I
graduated from high school that the anxiety was lessened because I have not seen him since. Although
he was present in my life he never played the role of a parent. He payed child ... Show more content

Bp Management and Strategies Research Paper
British Petroleum and Recommendations for Improvement and Success
Abstract
This paper will look at British Petroleum, BP, one of the largest oil companies in the world. Following
the Gulf Oil Spill does BP have sustainability in this market? This paper will examine the early history
of the company. It will look at the competitive advantages of the organization by looking at its SWOT
analysis. The company s market strategy will be examined including its growing interest into
alternative fuels. Its internal structure will be compared to the persona that BP is trying to convey that
they are a globally friendly company with interests in developing low and no carbon emission fuels.

BP has several weaknesses. Currently they are holding a large percentage of liability. Some of that
liability is due to the Gulf oil spill and the other is tied in the uncertain and sure to fail dealings to get
a foothold in the Russian oil market. Additionally, the Gulf oil spill has marred the reputation of BP to
the United States, BP s largest customer. This has resulted in dwindling sales and halts to new drilling
within the US and its waters. BP also has had a track record for cutting costs that have resulted in two
other large accidental spills only five years ealier. In 2005, a refinery in Texas caught fire and in 2006
a section of the Alaskan pipeline burst (Bryant, 2010). These events showed neglect on the part of BP
and lead to the record sized fine imposed on them.
In regards to opportunities, we see a progressive increase in the price of oil. Although there is an
obvious fluctuation in the price of oil from day to day, the overall trend is a defined increase in the
price of oil. There are also new deposits being discovered. BP has shown through historical experience
that they are willing to take great risks to achieve results. Some may have not gone as planned, but
they have the drive to at least attempt. There current PR state is also open to opportunity. The public
relation state of BP, especially in the United States, is at some of its lowest levels in history. This was
also listed as a current weakness, but BP has

Importance of National Income
A variety of measures of national income and output are used in economics to estimate total economic
activity in a country or region, including gross domestic product (GDP), gross national product
(GNP), net national income (NNI), and adjusted national income (NNI* adjusted for natural resource
depletion). All are specially concerned with counting the total amount of goods and services produced
within some boundary . The boundary is usually defined by geography or citizenship, and may also
restrict the goods and services that are counted. For instance, some measures count only goods and
services that are exchanged for money, excluding bartered goods, while other measures may attempt
to include bartered goods by imputing monetary values to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because of the complication of the multiple stages in the production of a good or service, only the
final value of a good or service is included in the total output. This avoids an issue often called double
counting , wherein the total value of a good is included several times in national output, by counting it
repeatedly in several stages of production. In the example of meat production, the value of the good
from the farm may be $10, then $30 from the butchers, and then $60 from the supermarket. The value
that should be included in final national output should be $60, not the sum of all those numbers, $90.
The values added at each stage of production over the previous stage are respectively $10, $20, and
$30. Their sum gives an alternative way of calculating the value of final output.
Formulae:
GDP(gross domestic product) at market price = value of output in an economy in the particular year
intermediate consumption
NNP at factor cost = GDP at market price depreciation + NFIA (net factor income from abroad) net
indirect taxes[3]
[edit]The income approach
The income approach equates the total output of a nation to the total factor income received by
residents or citizens of the nation. The main types of factor income are:
Employee compensation (cost of fringe benefits, including unemployment, health, and retirement
benefits);
Interest received net of interest paid;
Rental income (mainly for the use of real estate) net of

Demand Of Oil Producing Countries
The very first international agency created to allow oil producing countries to achieve their economic
objectives was OPEC. The organization was modeled after the Texas Railroad Commission and
formed at the Baghdad Conference in 1960 by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela . The
founding five counties were later joined by Qatar, Indonesia, Libya, the United Arab Emirates,
Algeria, and Nigeria . At the time of its creation most industrial countries were immensely dependent
on the oil imported from the region of the world represented by the OPEC members. Nonetheless, the
member countries had yet to devise a workable system for responding to serious disruptions in oil
supply before OPEC. OPEC s purpose was to serve as a sort of cartel. It would co ordinate and unify
petroleum policies among Member Countries, in order to secure fair and stable prices for petroleum
producers; an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consuming nations; and a fair
return on capital to those investing in the industry.
During the 1960s, OPEC was only modestly successful in influencing oil prices, which remained
relatively stable. OPEC member counties did not gain control of their own oil production decisions
until the 1970 s because oil companies had a large stock, and therefore a proportionately large say, in
many of the OPEC countries oil production businesses. During the period of 1969 1972, OPEC
countries began setting barrel prices without negotiation with the

Summary Of The Metamorphosis Of Narcissus
In The Persistence of Memory, time appears to be the theme, from the pocket watches detached from
their chains melting slowly on rocks and the branches on a tree, to the decay or death implied by the
swarming ants on the orange clock. The ants and melting clocks are recognizable images that Dali
places in an unfamiliar context and he renders in a different way, to systematise confusion and thus to
help discredit completely the world of reality . The strange formless human figure or face in the centre
could be interpreted from what we might imagine being in a dreamlike state. Modernity is emphasized
when you are thinking, what am I looking at? It is a play on reality, a visual brainteaser, and an attack
on the rational. Here is this absurd alien landscape with very naturalistic renderings, where one thing
can be something else and meanings are up to interpretation. For example, why have drooping clocks,
is this meant to be a provocative idea because time is so regimented, that rules us and is so associated
with the industrial world we live in, or is it representing time slipping away? The title of the painting
suggests an attack on time and memory, giving the audience a hallucinatory dream world vision
surrealism, a sense of the unexplained, extraordinary and inexplicable. The Metamorphosis of
Narcissus is an abstract painting based on Ovid s tale of Narcissus and Echo. The two main themes of
grief and passion, Dali separates by the use of two main tones. The title

Arguments Against The Resurrection Of Jesus
Do not abandon yourselves to despair. We are the Easter people and hallelujah is our song Saint Pope
John Paul II. The Resurrection is one of the most important miracles in the Catholic faith. It is not an
opinion but a fact. Many people, specifically atheists, try to employ erroneous arguments to refute the
historical reality of Jesus Resurrection from the dead. These so called rebuttals are unscientific and
unsupported by the facts of the matter. Furthermore by often ignoring important aspects of the event in
question all reasonableness and objectivity is lost. Here are the four most commonly used arguments
atheists use against the Resurrection debunked. The mystery of the vanishing body. Atheists claim that
Christ s body was stolen from the tomb by His Apostles while the guards were sleeping. This tall tale
was originally created by Pharisees who bribed the guards to repeat it. But the logic does not follow. If
all the guards were catching z s then how could they, or anyone, know who stole the body or even that

In fact, all who saw the Resurrected Messiah, including the Apostles and all at the mountain evidently
suffered from Schizophrenia or some other Psychotic disorder. That is to say, all eye witnesses from
that wondrous day all experienced the same hallucinations. This theory is possibly the most far
fetched. What caused these mass amounts of hallucination? And why were they all the same? Perhaps
the heat, or maybe even extra terrestrials had some work in it? Furthermore, people hallucinate what
they fear or expect; the women and the Apostles had no expectation of Christ s Resurrection due to the
fact that they themselves did not fully understand the prophecy of His Resurrection. Finally, St.
Thomas refused to believe that Christ had risen until he had seen for himself, Jesus

who drives people around the city as well as is a client of the transgender sex workers of Hollywood.
The performance of identity, fronts, and gender are all portrayed in different ways in this film and it s

Spirit Airlines Pricing Strategy Essay
Spirit Airlines, the leading ultra low cost, no frills carrier; the worst all round Carrier charges for every
service besides the basic fare. For this purpose, this paper will discuss the Carrier ticket distribution
channels, pricing strategy and product promotion.
Direct and Indirect marketing channels.
Generally, Spirit airlines distribute tickets through both Direct and Indirect channels. With direct
distribution, the airline sells tickets via direct contact with customers. Consequently, the indirect
channel involves selling through channel intermediaries like wholesalers and retailers.
Direct Channel
Firstly, Spirit s lowest cost distribution channel is Spirit.com, seventy eight percent of ticket sales are
made through this channel; therefore, lowest fares offer to customers, appear only on their website.
Ordinarily, the advantage of this channel eliminates markups or commissions to intermediaries. One

Economy Pricing Strategy
Low quality, no frills, lowest price base fare are features of the economy pricing model. Since Spirit
Airline adopts the a la carte pricing model, the basic fare paid buys only the flight itself and frills are

they request and should not subsidize other customers needs.More so, Spirit assumes that lower fares
will stimulate the demand for air travel by attracting customers who would otherwise use other means

ozone effect, precipitation of the greenhouse effect as well as creating the haze effect all of which
impact on the ozone levels in the stratosphere.
The ozone effect
Even though it has been scientifically proven that the halide acid (HCI) from the volcanic eruptions is
mostly confined in the troposphere found just below the stratosphere and hence not effective in
destroying the ozone as it is washed out by rain, the volcanic eruptions still play a significant part in
reducing the ozone levels in an indirect manner. The particles emitted during an eruption interact with
bromine and chlorine containing compounds from the human made CFCs hence the chemical reaction
leads to the erosion of the ozone (Rangarajan S., 2013). This continued stagnation of the volcanic
particles is made worse if the wind fails to blow to clear away the particles as well as failure of rain
for a long time.
Greenhouse effect
During the volcanic eruptions, there is emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This existence
of the CO2 in the atmosphere then creates the greenhouse effect as it thickens the ozone layer hence
global warming. These warming results in the failure of the heat reflected back to the atmosphere from

Narrative Essay On Irish Dance
Day 6: I was served a traditional Irish breakfast this morning, and aside from the puddings (which
weren t too bad), it was similar to a traditional breakfast I get at home. After breakfast, we boarded the
bus and headed for Glenveagh Castle. The castle itself was beautiful, from the elaborate interiors, to
the stunning gardens and trails, and the gorgeous scenery. The castle even has a curse attached to it,
showing how Irish culture is fond of myths and superstitions. After we left the castle, we went back to
the community center for lessons in Irish culture and dance. Although it is not the most common
spoken language in Ireland, Gaelic, is the national language of Ireland. Having their own national
language would promote nationalism within the country, giving the people something of their own that
wasn t established when Brittan took over. I was as good at learning Gaelic as I was with Spanish,
terrible, after the session all I could remember was how to ask for a pint and how to ask for food. Out
of the two sessions, I was far better at the Irish dancing. The session itself was one of the most fun
things I did in Ireland, learning the various dances and the meaning behind them. Irish dancing, like
Gaelic, is very important to the Irish people, even our language instructor know some of the Irish
dances. That was not the only place that I saw Irish dancing, it was common at pubs when bands were
playing and even people in the crowds joined in. The Irish dancing itself is

Confucianism In Korean Government During The Period Of...
Confucianism in Korean Government During the period of Three Kingdoms, the military system in
Silla has influenced by the Confucian doctrines. The Hwarang were the military system consisted of
the young sons of aristocrats who followed a code of conduct that combined Confucian doctrines,
Daoist ethics, and Buddhist teachings. Confucian doctrines included loyalty, filial piety, and
righteousness (Connor, 2002, p.13). Yet, Confucianism in Silla was subordinate to Buddhism.
Confucian practices and study took place not mainly in its own institutions but in the Buddhist
temples which were considered as the centers of Silla culture (Yang Henderson, 1958, p.84).
Confucianism had limited influence on Korean peninsula due to Buddhism which also contributed to
shaping social life and acted as a principal force in cultural achievements. Buddhism dominated
Korean peninsula in 10th and 11th centuries in Koryo Dynasty. Hence, the Confucianism did not
spread to the entire population of Korean peninsula during the Three Kingdoms period and Koryo
Dynasty. However, there was a notable accomplishment during Koryo Dynasty: ... Show more content

Confucianism conceives the family as the fundamental element of society, integrating the economic
functions of production and consumption as well as the social functions of education and socialization,
guided by moral and ethical principles (Park Cho, 1995, p.118). As mentioned above, one of the five
principal relationships proposed by Confucianism is the relationship between parents and child. As
Confucianism proposes, there should be a close relationship between parents and children, primarily
based on emotional closeness and love. The children must respect their parents and grandparents while
the elders in the family must treat and instruct the children based on love and affection (Park Chesla,

The Growing Epidemic Of Divorce Essay
The growing epidemic of divorce in the United States could say that love is dead. Couples are now
divorcing as fast as they marry! Even couples who have been married for decades are separating. The
effects of divorce can be good for a couple or it can be heart wrenching. But more than often, it is the
children who are involved in divorce suffering more than the common eye can see. Not only does ugly
divorces put extreme stress on child, broken families and family members with addiction, disabilities,
and disorders can cause children to suffer from many disorders that can linger into adulthood. Parents
of broken families need to take care of their children because the burden and pain possessed by a child
can be impossible to see therefore it is the responsibility of the parents and the law to ensure that in
extremely difficult times, a child is taken care of either through counseling, therapy, or mediation
sessions with parents and children.
Children of bitter divorces can suffer tremendous outcomes. Yet not every single divorce is traumatic
for a child. It is old news that children are better off with happy separated parents than unhappy
married parents and divorce from a dangerous family member could mean safety and better times
ahead. Though some situations can be traumatic for children of parents who are more than just an
unhappy couple. Young children from toddler to elementary age can suffer from a myriad of
psychological issues with messy divorces and violent

Biodata Test There are many forms and methods of tests that are being used during selection process.
Biodata test is a type of exam that is used in selection process which uses background experience and
behaviors to predict applicant s performance on certain jobs. The biodata test I took was designed to
predict performance on a position in sales and customer services. The test predicts dependability,
positive customer service attitudes, retention, management potential, and performance of an applicant.
Based on score an applicant receive, the test gives recommendation to hiring management whether an
applicant is good fit for the position or not. Since I took the test after our discussion during class, I
probably had better glimpse of what it would like than other people who took before the class.
However, I was not sure what to look for in terms of questions and answers. I have heard about
various testing methods and types that companies use for selection, and I imagined one more similar
to academic test that measures intelligence. Yet, this test was different and some questions looked very
inappropriate or illegal in some sense. The test begun with asking basic information about me such as
name and address. I was not sure why they need address for the selection, but I had not had much of
issue with it. However, a question asking birth day was not comfortable to answer. I am relatively
older than regular college graduates, and I would be worried if I were actually

The global sales growth of natural products in 2014 was almost 10% (Klineblogs, 2015). Whole Foods
stores continue to provide natural healthcare and beauty products which serves to not only provide for
the needs of current customers but may offer incentive to bring more buyers into the stores. Successful
expansion into new markets continues to strengthen the brand. The openings of store fronts in Canada
and the United Kingdom bring the total international store count to 19 as of October 2015 (Whole
Foods, 2015). Branching into international territories offers increased brand recognition and
awareness. Providing localized offerings and increasing awareness of natural products creates brand
attention in geographic markets that were previously untouched. This raises brand exposure and
identification which greatly increases the potential for market gains. Opening operations creates
diversification of business risk to a small degree. The stores in Canada and the U.K. may not be as
susceptible to economic issues that may arise in the United States, thus offering some organizational
financial buffering in time of economical uncertainty. The move to remarket multiple Whole Foods

In some ways she was a good queen and in others a bad queen. Certainly I agree with you it was a
terrible thing that her soldiers and sailors didn t get paid, especially after the Spanish Armada, when
many sailors were reduced to begging. and by the end of her reign the standard of living for the

But she manage to keep her throne for forty five years which makes her a good Queen in the sense
that she was a survivor, and at the beginning at any rate she did attempt to be tolerant of other

The King of Spain at that time was called Phillip, and he had previously asked Elizabeth to marry him,
but she had refused. He grew more annoyed with her because they belonged to different religions, and
she had encouraged her pirate s to raid Spanish ships, amongst other reasons. Eventually, he prepared
an Armada to attack England, but it failed and the Spanish returned home. I think that Elizabeth could
have behaved with a little more diplomacy to avoid war, and she didn t actually help to defeat the
Spaniards, although she did make a very stirring speech to her troops, which started, I may have the
body of a weak and feeble woman, but I have the heart and stomach of a great king. Also, lots of her
injured soldiers who returned home alive were not paid and were left to beg in the streets for the
remainder of their lives, although that might be a different issue. So basically I do think that Elizabeth
deserved the title, Good Queen Bess, because she was very innovative and forward thinking for her

interesting woman. In conclusion, I would like to end this essay thanking you for reading it, I hoped

America into the refuge it would become by creating a colony on principles of religious tolerance and

A Summary Of Operant Conditioning ABA
ABA is built on B.F. Skinner s theory of operant conditioning: the idea that behavior can be taught by
controlling the consequences to actions. The primary way that the teaching is performed is through the
use of reinforcements and the methods of Imitation, shaping, and chaining to acquire new behavior
and either increase or decrease the likelihood of a certain behaviors. Modeling and imitation are two
learning methods that goes together, you can not have one without the other. These methods refers to
mimicking through observation and later enacting the observed behavior or actions of others.
Modeling can be defined as an antecedent stimulus that evokes the imitative behavior. The model must
serve as a controlling variable for the imitative behavior (Cooper et al. 2007, p.421). If you ever

Comparison Of Drummer Hodge And I Look Into My Glass By...
Thomas Hardy was a poet and novelist from the 19th century. He was born in June 1840, and he had
wrote over 800 poems in his lifetime, a lot of which were published in his latter years. I am going to
compare and contrast two of his poems: Drummer hodge and I Look into my glass.
Drummer Hodge is a poem about a young man who tragically lost his life in the Boer war. Hardy
heard news about the death of the young drummer who was from Dorchester in wessex (the region
that Hardy most commonly wrote about) The drummers in the war could often be as young as thirteen
or fourteen, as they would be dishonest about their age to the recruitment officers. Hodge is not the

Both poems use the abab structure, have three stanzas and concentrate on the theme of death. Whilst
the poem of Drummer hodge has the backdrop of a huge landscape, I look into my glass portrays the
sufferings of a melancholy man who is writing in self pity. The language differs a lot between the two
pems as Drummer Hodge is a external pem that can easily be imagined however I look into my glass
is not only internalised it is introverted. Hodge himself wouldnt of wanted to die so young while
Hardy felt he had lived his life and wanted it to come to an end, this displays a huge contrast between
the poems. In I look into my glass the coldness of other people s hearts is emphasised by the
assonance of grown cold and then lonely in the next line. It also underlines Hardy s grieving with the
words steals and eve . Assonance cannot be found in Drummer Hodge as I believe he is telling a story
while in I look into my glass he truly wants sympathy for himself from the

Technicolor In Animated And Live-Action Film ( 1942 ) And...
Technicolor in Animated and Live Action Film: Bambi (1942) and Becky Sharp (1935) Colour,
especially by today s audiences, is considered to be a staple in a film s mise en scene. It is generally
thought to be an attraction today if a film does not have colour, and it influences many different
readings of films. However, it was not always considered to be such an essential part of cinema. In the
early days of Technicolor, specifically in the mid 30s to early 40s, colour added to the aesthetic of
film. Specifically, the colour aesthetics of animated film and live action film created different readings
of their respective films. For example, colour in Bambi (1942) was used to compliment and indicate
the setting and the tone and/or mood at specific points in the narrative, as well as to indicate when
important events were occurring in the film. These elements of the narrative are shown through the
colours of certain scenes themselves and the vibrancy of the colours. So with the help of the colours in
the film, the film itself can be read as a growing up tale . In comparison, a live action film, Becky
Sharp (1935), colour is used in a contrasting way to emphasize certain parts of the narrative, such as
specific characters or themes in the film. In this case, the help of the colours can help emphasize the
main character of the film, Becky Sharp, in her journey to climb the social ranks of the nineteenth
century. In animated film, especially in terms of Walt Disney s animated

Toilet Learning
When you are teaching Special Needs Kids to use the toilet, parents basically undressed them and sat

Adolescence Is A Life Changing Event For Males And Females
Puberty in essence is a life changing event for males and females, typically following a time of
significant physical growth. Puberty is the stage in life when secondary sex characteristics are
developing, sexual organs mature due to production of sex hormones. This naturally occurs during
adolescence, the stage in life between childhood and adulthood. Nonetheless, Feldman (2014) points
out the fact that physical changes begin earlier for girls typically at the age of 10, with sexual organ
development generally around the ages of 11 12. On the other hand, physical changes for boys,
frequently occurs later, around the age of 12, with development of sexual organs around the age of 13
14. Nevertheless there has been a trend towards early maturation of both male and females, this can
bring about advantages and disadvantages for both sexes (Feldman, 2014). This author will discuss the
pros and cons of early versus late maturation in boys versus girls in 21st century U.S. society as well
as how media reinforces maturation for pre teens and teens.
It is not clear why adolescence starts at a specific time. What is clear is that natural and social
elements assume a part. This trend towards early maturation is believed to be a result of improved
nutritional intake and a reduced amount of illness over the past century (Feldman, 2014). Additional
factors that can influence early maturation in girls, according to Feldman (2014), would be the
percentage of fat to muscle, moreover the

A Tragedy Unfolded
A Tragedy Unfolded
On a dark, but star struck, frigid April night in 1912, the North Atlantic became a part in history like
no other. Today, she sits 2.4 miles under the ocean, once adored and applauded for her prestigious
amenities and sophisticated elegance, The RMS Titanic lays shattered and scattered on the ocean floor.
We read about her in articles and see documentaries on television, the luxurious cruise liner that will
forever be known as the unsinkable ship , tells a story of her own even more than 100 years after her
foundering. Throughout the decades we have learned more and more of what happened that fateful
night. What happened in the early hours of April 15th, 1912 in the middle of the Atlantic that would
have caused this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On April 10th, 1912 the Titanic made her maiden voyage with the destination of New York. She left
from Southampton, England with stops in Cherbourg, France and Queenstown, Ireland, now known as
Cobh (Titanic, 2013). Titanic s full title was RMS Titanic. RMS stood for Royal Mail Ship, in all
Titanic would pick up more than 4,500 mail sacks and over 400,000 letters, from all of her stops.
Royal Mail Ships had to be fast and reliable. A ship that delivered the mail late would be fined and
could lose its official RMS title (Explore Titanic, 2011). The passengers that boarded were a range
from first class to third class, many who boarded as third class passengers were immigrating to New
York in hopes of finding a new life. There were some very wealthy passengers as well. The wealthiest
in which was John Jacob Astor. Astor was a millionaire who was traveling back to New York with his
new wife (Explore Titanic, 2011). Whether you were traveling first, second, or third class, the
accommodations were more than pleasing. First class suites contained washrooms, bedrooms, lounges,
and additional space for servants. They had their own private and covered Promenade Deck, three
cafés, a swimming pool, a Turkish bath, gymnasium and squash court. In first class dining, women

The Impact Of Sports And Sports In Elizabethan England
There were many sports that made popular by citizens in Elizabethan England. Nobles most often
participated in sports such as archery, bowling, dice, hammer throwing and most known tennis (
Alchin Elizabethan Sports ). These nobles watched wrestling and blood sports including bear and bull
baiting and dog and cock fighting. The queen often appeared at these events (Alchin Elizabethan Bear
Bull Baiting ). Sports began to come from other countries and continents as people would travel to
england. Tennis was the most popular sport by the upper classes and originated in medieval France.
Sports presented an opportunity as a release for England s people. The most popular sport was bear
baiting which first became business in the mid 1500s. People s lives involved bull baiting and arenas
formed to host these spectacles. Philip Henslowe established dedicated animal fighting arenas in
Thames (Alchin Elizabethan Bear Bull Baiting ). The noisy, blood arenas were popular, and
considered the main competition to the plays put on at theaters. These spectacles gave people a place
to get away and watch a beloved event (Andrews). Golf s popularity was short lived. King James VI
of Scotland made it popular while he reined (Baker 86). Believed to have been popular solely for the
reason of the King playing it along with his mother.
The cruel sports had multiple effects on the people of England. People were at awe with these bloody
sports. An Italian merchant who watched one of these

In 1892, The University of Chicago became the first university in the United States of America to establish a department of sociology (Panzarella Vona, 2013). Within a couple of years, the University of Chicago would become the leading university in developing criminal theories. The top professors of the sociology department studied in France and Germany where there is an emphasis placed on the social influence in human behavior by using official records, such as court and welfare records, as well as individual case histories (Panzarella Vona, 2013). During the early 1900s, researchers from the University of Chicago wanted to explore the effects of urbanization, industrialization, and immigration on patterns of social organization in Chicago neighborhoods (Kurbin, 2010). Many researchers, such as Ernest Burgess and Robert Park, had explored the effects of urbanization, industrialization and immigration in Chicago neighborhood; however, crime was not a main focus of study. This would later change when researchers Clifford R. Shaw and Henry D. McKay, from the University of Chicago, started their research on social organization. Clifford R. Shaw had earned a M.A in sociology at the University of Chicago in 1921(Panzarella Vona, 2013). After he graduated from University of Chicago, he continued with his doctoral studies. • 4. Impact Of Etfs Trading On Underlying Securities Because price changes in ETFs directly reflect market information and alter investors behaviours and asset allocation, the underlying security liquidity and volatility should be scrutinized. The third main strand of academic literature has revealed that the potential impacts of ETFs trading on underlying securities, and the markets as a whole, is of substantial interest to both investment professionals and financial academics. There is an extensive amount of research that emphasises the effects on liquidity, volatility and valuation. In fact, ETFs impact on the quality of underlying securities is not an unexplored area to theoretical or empirical academics. Existing studies have examined the effects of ETFs introduction on their underlying indices or composite securities. Subrahmanyam (1991) and Gorton et al. (1993) established theoretical models to test basket securities , including index linked securities or index futures contracts (Charupat and Miu, 2013). The models predicted liquidity migration to component securities and indicated that the level of diversification of a composite security is positively correlated with its appeal to liquidity traders. The analysis was based on the idea that component stocks were diversified (with no firm risk), and the liquidity traders, thus, expected lower losses to informed traders by trading in composite securities rather than in underlying individual securities. A company usually establishes corrective controls to remedy problems that are discovered by the detective controls. One advisable procedure that can be implemented for this control is establishing training programs that educate employees about how to use the new automated system that can help them perform their job functions more efficiently and effectively. Importance of National Income A variety of measures of national income and output are used in economics to estimate total economic activity in a country or region, including gross domestic product (GDP), gross national product (GNP), net national income (NNI), and adjusted national income (NNI* adjusted for natural resource depletion). All are specially concerned with counting the total amount of goods and services produced within some boundary . The boundary is usually defined by geography or citizenship, and may also restrict the goods and services that are counted. For instance, some measures count only goods and services that are exchanged for money, excluding bartered goods, while other measures may attempt to include bartered goods by imputing monetary values to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Because of the complication of the multiple stages in the production of a good or service, only the final value of a good or service is included in the total output. This avoids an issue often called double counting , wherein the total value of a good is included several times in national output, by counting it repeatedly in several stages of production. In the example of meat production, the value of the good from the farm may be $10, then $30 from the butchers, and then $60 from the supermarket. The value that should be included in final national output should be $60, not the sum of all those numbers, $90. The values added at each stage of production over the previous stage are respectively $10, $20, and $30. Their sum gives an alternative way of calculating the value of final output. Formulae: GDP(gross domestic product) at market price = value of output in an economy in the particular year intermediate consumption NNP at factor cost = GDP at market price depreciation + NFIA (net factor income from abroad) net indirect taxes[3] [edit]The income approach The income approach equates the total output of a nation to the total factor income received by residents or citizens of the nation. • 12. Demand Of Oil Producing Countries The very first international agency created to allow oil producing countries to achieve their economic objectives was OPEC. The organization was modeled after the Texas Railroad Commission and formed at the Baghdad Conference in 1960 by Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Venezuela . The founding five counties were later joined by Qatar, Indonesia, Libya, the United Arab Emirates, Algeria, and Nigeria . At the time of its creation most industrial countries were immensely dependent on the oil imported from the region of the world represented by the OPEC members. Nonetheless, the member countries had yet to devise a workable system for responding to serious disruptions in oil supply before OPEC. OPEC s purpose was to serve as a sort of cartel. It would co ordinate and unify petroleum policies among Member Countries, in order to secure fair and stable prices for petroleum producers; an efficient, economic and regular supply of petroleum to consuming nations; and a fair return on capital to those investing in the industry. During the 1960s, OPEC was only modestly successful in influencing oil prices, which remained relatively stable. OPEC member counties did not gain control of their own oil production decisions until the 1970 s because oil companies had a large stock, and therefore a proportionately large say, in many of the OPEC countries oil production businesses. • 13. Summary Of The Metamorphosis Of Narcissus In The Persistence of Memory, time appears to be the theme, from the pocket watches detached from their chains melting slowly on rocks and the branches on a tree, to the decay or death implied by the swarming ants on the orange clock. The ants and melting clocks are recognizable images that Dali places in an unfamiliar context and he renders in a different way, to systematise confusion and thus to help discredit completely the world of reality . The strange formless human figure or face in the centre could be interpreted from what we might imagine being in a dreamlike state. Modernity is emphasized when you are thinking, what am I looking at? It is a play on reality, a visual brainteaser, and an attack on the rational. Here is this absurd alien landscape with very naturalistic renderings, where one thing can be something else and meanings are up to interpretation. For example, why have drooping clocks, is this meant to be a provocative idea because time is so regimented, that rules us and is so associated with the industrial world we live in, or is it representing time slipping away? The title of the painting suggests an attack on time and memory, giving the audience a hallucinatory dream world vision surrealism, a sense of the unexplained, extraordinary and inexplicable. Natural Processes and the Ozone Levels in the Stratosphere Natural processes and the ozone levels in the stratosphere There are various effects that the natural processes like volcanic eruption, change in solar activities as well as change in air movement. The influences of these natural processes range from creation of the ozone effect, precipitation of the greenhouse effect as well as creating the haze effect all of which impact on the ozone levels in the stratosphere. The ozone effect Even though it has been scientifically proven that the halide acid (HCI) from the volcanic eruptions is mostly confined in the troposphere found just below the stratosphere and hence not effective in destroying the ozone as it is washed out by rain, the volcanic eruptions still play a significant part in reducing the ozone levels in an indirect manner. The particles emitted during an eruption interact with bromine and chlorine containing compounds from the human made CFCs hence the chemical reaction leads to the erosion of the ozone (Rangarajan S., 2013). This continued stagnation of the volcanic particles is made worse if the wind fails to blow to clear away the particles as well as failure of rain for a long time. Greenhouse effect During the volcanic eruptions, there is emission of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. This existence of the CO2 in the atmosphere then creates the greenhouse effect as it thickens the ozone layer hence global warming. The castle even has a curse attached to it, showing how Irish culture is fond of myths and superstitions. After we left the castle, we went back to the community center for lessons in Irish culture and dance. Even couples who have been married for decades are separating. The effects of divorce can be good for a couple or it can be heart wrenching. But more than often, it is the children who are involved in divorce suffering more than the common eye can see. The test predicts dependability, positive customer service attitudes, retention, management potential, and performance of an applicant. Based on score an applicant receive, the test gives recommendation to hiring management whether an applicant is good fit for the position or not. Since I took the test after our discussion during class, I probably had better glimpse of what it would like than other people who took before the class. However, I was not sure what to look for in terms of questions and answers. I have heard about various testing methods and types that companies use for selection, and I imagined one more similar to academic test that measures intelligence. Yet, this test was different and some questions looked very inappropriate or illegal in some sense. The test begun with asking basic information about me such as name and address. He was born in June 1840, and he had wrote over 800 poems in his lifetime, a lot of which were published in his latter years. I am going to compare and contrast two of his poems: Drummer hodge and I Look into my glass. Drummer Hodge is a poem about a young man who tragically lost his life in the Boer war. Hardy heard news about the death of the young drummer who was from Dorchester in wessex (the region that Hardy most commonly wrote about) The drummers in the war could often be as young as thirteen or fourteen, as they would be dishonest about their age to the recruitment officers. Technicolor in Animated and Live Action Film: Bambi (1942) and Becky Sharp (1935) Colour, especially by today s audiences, is considered to be a staple in a film s mise en scene. It is generally thought to be an attraction today if a film does not have colour, and it influences many different readings of films. However, it was not always considered to be such an essential part of cinema. In the early days of Technicolor, specifically in the mid 30s to early 40s, colour added to the aesthetic of film. Specifically, the colour aesthetics of animated film and live action film created different readings of their respective films. For example, colour in Bambi (1942) was used to compliment and indicate the setting and the tone and/or mood at specific points in the narrative, as well as to indicate when important events were occurring in the film. These elements of the narrative are shown through the colours of certain scenes themselves and the vibrancy of the colours. So with the help of the colours in the film, the film itself can be read as a growing up tale . In comparison, a live action film, Becky Sharp (1935), colour is used in a contrasting way to emphasize certain parts of the narrative, such as specific characters or themes in the film. In this case, the help of the colours can help emphasize the main character of the film, Becky Sharp, in her journey to climb the social ranks of the nineteenth century. Puberty is the stage in life when secondary sex characteristics are developing, sexual organs mature due to production of sex hormones. This naturally occurs during adolescence, the stage in life between childhood and adulthood. Nonetheless, Feldman (2014) points out the fact that physical changes begin earlier for girls typically at the age of 10, with sexual organ development generally around the ages of 11 12. On the other hand, physical changes for boys, frequently occurs later, around the age of 12, with development of sexual organs around the age of 13 14. Nevertheless there has been a trend towards early maturation of both male and females, this can bring about advantages and disadvantages for both sexes (Feldman, 2014). This author will discuss the pros and cons of early versus late maturation in boys versus girls in 21st century U.S. society as well as how media reinforces maturation for pre teens and teens. It is not clear why adolescence starts at a specific time. What is clear is that natural and social elements assume a part. This trend towards early maturation is believed to be a result of improved nutritional intake and a reduced amount of illness over the past century (Feldman, 2014).
