Buddhism Preaches
Ecology is a very important concept in the minds of many people all over the world. With concerns of
environmental degradation becoming more and more prevalent, humanity has been taking new
initiatives in order to restore our once thriving environments. While some are just beginning to
address the issue now, others have been looking out for our Mother Nature much longer. One such
group of people are called Buddhists. Nature has played a significant role in the formation of
Buddhism and also remains an important concept in the teachings of today. The interdependencies that
Buddhism preaches are directly related to nature because they realize that things as small as a flower
can have a great impact on them through the interdependencies of life. ... Show more content on

The Minnesota Zen Meditation Center is not an exception to that guideline. From the public garden, to
the transformed house, to the flowers inside the center, there were plenty of reminders that expressed
the importance of ecology to the congregation. The public garden is a great way for the center to
benefit our environment while also reaching out to the community. The idea of a public garden is great
because it not only creates a better environment around us, but it also attempts to influence many
people to do the same. Additionally, the garden includes a bike rack. The bike rack further suggests the
center s commitment to environmentally friendly activities. The garden is one of the most apparent
traits of the center that makes it unique from other congregations that I have seen. Similar to what the
speakers from Interfaith Power and Light discussed, the center has the ability to unite its members and
serve as a catalyst to create a community of environmentally conscious people. It is a great feeling to
see that congregations like the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center are doing exactly

Developing Agile Software Development Methodology
Introduction
Ever since the Agile Manifesto came into existence in 2001, it has led many agile software
development processes to spurt up. Dynamic Systems Development Method (DSDM), Extreme
Programming (XP), Feature Driven Development (FDD), SCRUM and Crystal Methodologies are
some of the most famous agile software development methodology famous today (Vlaanderen et. al,
20011), (Dingsøyr et. al, 2012). In the recent research done by (Dingsøyr et. al, 2012), it s been found
that XP and scrum are the two most common agile methodologies used currently. In their empirical
research (Dingsøyr et. al, 2012) also found that most of the existing studies on agile methodology
focus on XP and there are very limited studies done on SCRUM. The purpose of this literature review
research is to analyze the existing research available on SCRUM methodology. This literature review
will provide a broad overview on various information researchers are providing on agile software
development methodology, keeping Scrum agile methodology in the focal point. In addition, this
literature review will also address the advantages and disadvantages of SCRUM agile methodology.
This research will help the audience to gaze over the recent study over scrum and will help in making
the decision whether Scrum is the right agile methodology for their software development project.

Anemia In Our Body System
Anemia is a condition in which one lacks an adequate amount of healthy red blood cells (RBC)
needed to transport the appropriate amount of oxygen from the lungs to tissues throughout the body.
The body systems affected by anemia include the Circulatory/Cardiovascular, Respiratory,
Integumentary, and the Musculoskeletal System. The system or systems affected depends on the type
of anemia acquired or disease acquired causing the anemic state. All of our body systems need healthy
blood to function to their best ability; anemia prevents proper functionality.
Anemia has many causes and the associated symptoms vary depending on the type of anemia. The
most common symptoms are fatigue, weakness, and pale skin. Other symptoms include an increase in

Catalase And Hydrogen Peroxide Lab Report
Introduction The mixture of liver and its enzyme catalase and hydrogen peroxide is the basis of this
experiment. This experiment was conducted to observe the enzyme catalase and how it reacts with
hydrogen peroxide. The liver was chosen as the catalyst in the experiment because that is where
catalases are predominantly found in mammals. This is a practical experiment because it teaches one
how catalases react with other substances and observing how they destroy harmful substances in the
living things. It also shows how enzymes speed up experiments. Enzymes are proteins that act as
catalysts within living cells. They are composed of long chains of amino acids. There is a point on an

Programme Quality Assessment Of The Master Of Business And...
RESEARCH PROPOSAL
The proposed title Programme quality assessment of the Master of Business and Management.
Objective
The overall purpose of my research is to identify and minimise the gap between what the students in
terms of quality expect and what the University of Waikato s Master of Business and Management
(MBM) deliver. It aims to make the MBM programme more efficient through being more aligned
towards the student expectations and also promote better academic performance among the students.
Introduction
Universities around the world come up with ideas to promote their programmes among the
prospective students to both boost their reputation by producing top class professionals and also to
raise revenue to improve on their service. The word quality means different things to different people.
To measure the service quality of an institution, it is essential to understand how the key stakeholders
define quality. The key stakeholders who are a part of the university are the faculty and the students. It
is hence staffs and students definitions of quality that need to be analysed to develop a programme that
aligns with their perceptions and meets their expectations.
Therefore, this research will focus on seeking answers to the following questions:
1. What is the student perception of quality?
2. What is the staff perception of quality?
3. How does MBM programme compare with best practices around the world?

Essay about Oedipus the King as a Tragic Hero
Oedipus as a Tragic Hero
According to Aristotle s theory of tragedy and his definition of the central character, Oedipus the hero
of Sophocles is considered a classical model of the tragic hero. The tragic hero of a tragedy is essential
element to arouse pity and fear of the audience to achieve the emotional purgation or catharathis.
Therefore, this character must have some features or characteristics this state of purgation. In fact,
Oedipus as a character has all the features of the tragic hero as demanded by Aristotle.
The concept of tragic hero is very important in the construction of tragedy. It is the main cause of pity
and fear. The tragic hero is a character between the two extremes; he is ... Show more content on

Another good quality in Oedipus, that he is strong enough to punish himself by blindness instead of
suicide. If he is a weak character, he will kill himself beside Jocasta at the end. He has the bravery to
face the Theban people and to tell them that he is the killer of Laius. Therefore, it is clear that he has
enough qualities to be a good character at least better than us.
Beside the fact that he is a noble and good character, he has royal roots because he will be the son of
Laius at the end. Therefore, he has good reputation because he is the son of a king. At the beginning,
he tells Jocasta about his life history informing her that he is the son of Polybus and Morope the king
and the queen of Cornith. He left his city because a fortune teller told him that he will kill his father
and marry his mother so he left the city. He left the city with the fear of this prophecy. Jocasta tells

The Russian Revolution And World War I
The Russian Revolution and World War I
Samantha Jones
Period 3
19 May 2017
The Russian Revolution, also known as the Bolshevik Revolution, took place in the year 1917. This
revolution was the result of many things, though it majorly began as a revolt by the peasant and
working classes against the current czar, Nicholas II, and the Russian government. It was when the
final czar and his family were killed. This revolution is what led Lenin and the Bolsheviks into power.
It was a major contribution to the spread of communism and ultimately in creating the communist
country of the Soviet Union. Despite all of the effects the revolution had on Russia, how the country
was run, and who controlled the government, it did not ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Soon, they were joined by military officials and soldiers who refused to shoot the crowds. The czar
tried replacing officials in the government, believing that not only would the government approve
more of these officials, but that they would be more effective in handling these issues. This ended up
failing as the new officials were objectively worse than the old ones. In the end these attempts led to
extreme unrest in Russia, making it very easy for people such as Lenin and the Bolsheviks to come
and start the ultimate revolution and take down the current monarchical government. The war brought
with it many economic and militaristic issues that ultimately led to the Bolshevik Revolution.
The military revolts were a major part of the Russian Revolution, making it very difficult for battles to
be won on the Russian front. This meant they made no major moves either beneficial or detrimental to
either side of the war. Much of this is to the fault of Czar Nicholas II, as, despite having no prior
military experience, he decided to lead the military effort. As mentioned previously, an estimated
fifteen and a half million men were drafted from peasant and working class areas. This led to many of
them being untrained. When they were sent to war, many had to wait months in barracks just to be
trained. Many were trained with broomsticks due to lack of proper weapons and training tools. The
lack of guns and other weapons also

Factors Influencing Dynamic Control Of The Helicopter Pilots
The helicopter pilots, in general, are required to be skillful in operations on both improved and
unimproved surfaces. During normal or slope takeoffs and landings with some degree of bank angle or
side drift with one skid or wheel on the ground causes the helicopter to roll. When the rollover
happens, the lateral cyclic control response becomes more sluggish and less effective than for a
hovering helicopter. Consequently, if a roll rate is permitted to develop, a critical bank angle may be
reached where roll cannot be corrected, even with full lateral cyclic, and the helicopter will roll over
onto its side. As the roll rate increases, the angle at which recovery is still possible is significantly
reduced. The critical rollover angle is also reduced. So, the goal of this essay is to cover the factors
influencing dynamic control such as solo flight, cross wind, tail rotor thrust etc. and understand the
recognition of dynamic rollover, how to avoid it and steps required for recovery. In addition, the
effects of critical rollover angle on dynamic rollover and factors influencing dynamic rollover are also
discussed.
Introduction:
An increasing percentage of helicopter accidents are attributed to dynamic rollover, results in
destruction of helicopter and some serious injuries to the helicopter pilots and crew. The dynamic
rollover is a condition of power flight, where helicopter tends to roll laterally. When a helicopter is
lifting off the ground or it is hovering with one

Ozment And The Lutheran Reformation Essay
Ozment The Lutheran Reformation By: Hanan M. Madbouly
Long before Martin Luther was one of Germany s most famous reformers, Lucas Cranach a painter
from Franconia served sixteen years as a court painter in Wittenberg. Wittenberg turned out to be the
center for the Renaissance; this small town would be where the Renaissance would emerge. As Luther
references it, it became the birthplace of religious pluralism and independent beliefs for freedom that
we tend to hold dear today. By doing so, these two men were attracted to one another for the cause of
reform, on the cultural, domestic, religious, and political fronts.
Cranach had taken up residence in the city in 1505 right around the time Saxon princes seemed to be
redeveloping their townhouses, castles, grounds, and churches. From the very beginning of his work
Cranach presented a new outlook on are for that time. With this status Cranach was able to raise to the
top of his field, very few artists of the time were given the luxuries he receivedfor his role as the new
court painter. Be It Durer of the sixteen century, or Picasso of the twentieth seemed to have created the
many art genres as Cranach did in his lifetime.
Furthermore as a quick painter, and all over businessman, Cranach s works pushed him to the top,
where Durer being his rival. Being a master at his own craft, Cranach did not seem to believe in that
fully. Before coming to know Luther,

Ancient Mariner Allusions

a wedding guest. The story consists of the mariner setting out at sea with two hundred men. They
come across an albatross, which is viewed as good luck, and the Mariner shoots it dead. In the event
of his spiteful actions, he and his crew are haunted by Biblical allusions; all of which is created to
further deepen the meaning of the poem.

However, when the winds return and the fog clears, they blame the Albatross for their misfortune of
being stuck in the mist and begin to stand by the bird s death: Ah wretch! Said they, the bird to slay
that made the breeze to blow! (Coleridge 23). Due to the sailor s agreeance towards the death of the
Albatross, they now share the guilt of the crime. But as they face the hardship of the still waters at sea,
some dream of the spirit that tormented them in the land of mist and snow . Hoping to escape the
misery, the sailors try to pin the fault on the Mariner alone by hanging the Albatross around his neck:
Ah! Well a day! What evil looks had I from old and young! Instead of the cross, the Albatross about
my neck was hung (Coleridge 34). Coleridge uses the act of hanging the albatross around the Mariners
neck in order to refer to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. By doing so, he is able to illustrate a sense of
loss of hope. This is comparable to the loss of hope experienced when Jesus was being nailed to the
cross. This allusion further depicts the overall meaning of the poem, being that only people that love

Trials and Tribulations of a Homosexual Essay
The history of the gay rights movement has been a hard fought battle within the United States. In fact
the first gay rights movement dates back to 1924 with the creation of The Society for Human Rights in
Chicago, Illinois. It wasn t until the 1960 s that gay rights started to make progress. In the year 1969
The Stonewall Riots took place when gay, lesbian, and transgender patrons of a New York bar were
raided by the police. This forever changed the movement from isolated incidents to a world wide
phenomenon.
As generations proceeded, institutions such as the American Psychiatric Society began to classify
homosexuality as a disease, which was later retracted in the 1970 s and was no longer considered a
mental disorder. At this time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
These same people who oppose homosexuality then influence their children who act in the same
manner in which they do. Students today learn words such as queer and fag all too soon and teach
other students to tease and taunt those who may possess slightly feminine characteristics this in turn
causes the said student to have absolutely no self esteem and to view his or herself in a unhealthy and
unnatural way. Complete acceptance of homosexuality will probably never be gained within society
however there are still various adversities homosexuals must endure more than heterosexuals, such as
anti gay bullying within school systems, various types of discrimination, and ultimately fighting for
their basic rights.
As a child they must deal with certain factors that they cannot change no matter how hard they try. For
example eye color, hair color, height, weight, and so on and so forth. Then based on these factors it is
determined whether a child is liked in school by others. However there is another factor, that
determines if a child is liked, and that is, whether a student is gay . Students nowadays judge one
another solely based on belief if someone is gay . Children use the gay word out of context everyday
and the effects of their harmful slander can be detrimental.
Teachers and principles may refer to this as just normal bullying,

Urban Alienation in Ian McEwan s The Cement Garden
It was not at all clear to me now why we had put her in the trunk in the first place. At the time it had
been obvious, to keep the family together. Was that a good reason? It might have been more
interesting to be apart. Nor could I think whether what we had done was an ordinary thing to do
In this essay I shall be examining the socio cultural context of The Cement Garden by Ian McEwan
(1948 ). Once placed within context, an examination of the internal worlds of the bereaved children
will follow. Attention is given to events from the perspective of Jack, the adolescent narrator and an

McEwan thus catapults the reader directly into the tormented mental world of Jack. We then only
observe the external world of Jack and his siblings from his single viewpoint. All is filtered through
his lonely and questionable perception. McEwan thus leaves it to the reader to analyse the action of
the novel from the filter of Jack s naïve, twisted but prevailing perspective. This creates a sense of the
claustrophobia that pervades the boy s world. The discomfort that readers feel parallels and prepares
them for Jack s anguished, alienated and contained inner world. The family, even before the parents
death, is divided within itself and isolated from other people. Thus Jack s lonely voice lends the
narration an air of obsessive and unhealthy emphasis on the very factors that create, generate and
sustain the isolated obsessions dominating this family.
The writer s concentrated narrative makes the cultural and social location of the family difficult to
determine. We know they are disassociated from mainstream society as a family unit, but individually
they attend work and school, so what makes them different as a group, and in what way is the family
different from wider society? We are told that they are a white family living on the decayed outskirts
of an unnamed British city. We are not told the father s occupation, but we

Essay about How Does Nationalism Shape China s...
Nationalism cannot only aggravate ethnic relations within the state, but it can also spill over borders
and increase the likelihood of international conflict (Downs and Saunders, 1998/99:115). Introduction
Nationalism has become a major part of the Chinese Communist Party s agenda to success and
continued rule as it struggles to keep its legitimacy in China. Nationalism to an extent also shapes
China s international relations. This essay will first define what nationalism means for China by

and modernises. Nationalism can ...refer to any behaviour designed to restore, maintain, or advance
public images of that national community (Gries, 2005:9). By the mid 1960s there were two main
proposals to understanding nationalism. In the first, nationalism was an aspect of national history, a
sentiment associated with the nation...In the second approach, nationalism was a modern, irrational
doctrine which could acquire sufficient power...to generate nationalists sentiments and even nation

Phones And Their Effects On Your Phone
Phones, I have one, you have one, your great grandmother has one, and possibly even your toddler
nephew too. In this day and age it s not as common to not have a cellular phone. With mobile phones
being so convenient for on the go activity it is no wonder that many people, young and old alike,
forget how to live without the use of their handheld lifeline. Just because you love your phone does
not mean that you are addicted per say, however, because you love your phone and feel like you need
it always that may be a sign that you are addicted to your phone. Signs of being addicted to your
phone can be as small as feeling incomplete without it to as great as tuning the people out around you
to be in your cellular device. Composed below are 14 signs of how you may be addicted to your
phone: 1.) Feel like you re missing out on the world around you. You feel that without your phone you
are undoubtedly missing out and are no longer in the know or loop when it is not by your side. 2.)
Constantly checking your phone. Like constantly CONSTANTLY. You need to repetitively check your
phone to see what s going on or what you may have missed. When it gets to the point that you are

Effective Classroom Interaction And Pupil Management
Assignment 1 Effective lessons in IT Classroom interaction and pupil management Meeting individual
differences Helping pupils learn Assessment The school curriculum and society What is an effective
teacher? An effective teacher is a pupil manager that can aid personalised learning and classroom
interaction. They are someone who meets individual s needs and reduces teacher dependency. They
understand the concepts of learning. The successful teacher cares, the successful teacher teaches well
and the successful teacher manages well (Marlands(1993, p.6 7). Graham et al. (2001) number one
principle for an effective teacher is to encourage student faculty contact. This stood out as it is a little
absurd compared to other lists and descriptions of what teachers should be. However it does make
sense, looking back at your school days you do associate a subject with a faculty and the efficiency of
that faculty, especially at GCSE, AS and A level stages when you rely on those faculties the most.
Graham et al. (2001) study showed that students that weren t responded to quickly would feel ignored
and faculty expectations would be decreased, showing a lack of trust and therefore wanting to learn by
the subject. One of the main arguments behind good understanding is the argument for independent
learning as opposed to teacher dependency. Overall Sangster (2007, p.94) state that one of the hardest
but most creditable achievements of a teacher is to help a student along the road to being

Dionysus Greek Pottery
Pottery was a huge part of the ancient Greeks lives. The pots were very highly decorated usually with
scenes depicting Greek gods as a way of worship to them. This paper will explore two examples of
Greek pottery and explain their uses and what is seen on them and why. The first vessel is a red figure
bell krater, from around 380 BC, attributed to artist known as the Erbach painter. Typically red figure
style deals with scenes of everyday life rather than myth, this pot differs from this as it does contain
myth but rather than depicting the action from a mythological tale, it portrays a general scene of the
Greek god, of wine drama and fertility, Dionysus. In this scene Dionysus is seen as a young man

440 BC. Like the other, it is a red figure bell krater featuring Dionysus. In this depiction of Dionysus
he is again seen holding a thyros but unlike the previous vessel instead of the presence of vines we see
him holding a wine cup (kylix), which is a very common attribute of the god. To the right we see a
satyr playing the flute. The satyr could be one of the Titiyroi classes of satyr as he shares many of the
main characteristics of them, such as the flute and his tail. To the left of Dionysus stands a woman
holding a wine jug (oinchoe). It is hard to tell who this woman is, as there are many possibilities. She
could be a maenad for the reason that maenads show up in a lot of artwork with Dionysus. However
this would not be a normal showing of a maenad. Maenads are usually seen holding a thyros, wearing
a wreath of ivy, holding a musical instrument or wearing some kind of animal print. This woman
could be Ariadne, the wife of Dionysus. In Greek artwork, Ariadne is often seen with Dionysus. Both
pots share a similar artistic style and depict Dionysus in a very comparable way. The slight differences
that you do see between them could be because of the time difference between each work.
Nevertheless both vessels depict Dionysus in the usual way. Both pots lack a mythical story behind it
and seem to be a general scene. While the first pot looks like a worship to Dionysus, the second pot
looks like a general depiction of Dionysus and the people/creatures

Comparing Two Art Styles
In the study of the Humanities one can find a vast list of the different styles and periods of artwork.
The dilemma comes in when taking two different artist with different styles from different time
periods and comparing and contrasting them. The ability to contrast would be facile, but the truth
hides behind the ability to compare such divergent artwork. Artwork that one may look at first glance

Poussin and Toulouse Lautrec s pieces of artwork can be considered different at first sight, looking
more in depth into both pieces one will be able to find several contrasts and comparisons. The
different styles and time periods can not take away from the parallel that both pieces posess. These
artists have a dissimilar style and outlook on women partly due to the difference in era s.

find that the post impressionist style is a intergration of the impressionists interest in contemporary
subject matter and Toulouse Lautrec s expressionistic colors and lines (2013, Artic.edu). Toulouse
Lautrec wanted to make the atmosphere in the nightclub eerie to show the unsavory and unwholesome

Treatment Of Intravenous Drug Use
Abstract
Intravenous drug use is a dangerous, yet increasing activity around the world. Persons who inject
themselves with illicit drugs are at risk for several complications such as infection caused by
contaminated needles. These infections can be serious and often lead to hospitalization as well as other
health related complications. A situation that often arises is determining the best type of treatment for
IV drug users who are being discharged from the hospital. Physicians and pharmacists are commonly
faced with choosing outpatient IV antibiotic therapy versus oral antibiotics when treating infections
caused by IV drug use. This presents an ethical dilemma, particularly concerning the ethical principles
of beneficence and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Unfortunately, the trend in intravenous drug use has increased in recent years. Results from the 2013
National Survey on Drug Use and Health show that of individuals aged 12 or older in America,
current users of cocaine and heroin were approximately 1.5 million and 289,000 respectively
(Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, 2014). As the number of intravenous
drug users continues to rise, so does the risk of dangerous and potentially fatal complications that are
associated with illicit drug use. In this population, death rates are higher due to overdose, AIDs related
mortality, and other blood borne viruses (Mathers et al., 2013). Mortality rates remain high even
though precautions have been taken to reduce them. According to Lavender McCarron (2013),
Mortality in injecting drug users is up to 22 times higher than for the age adjusted population, despite
increased provision of needle and syringe programs, reduced needle and syringe sharing, and higher
uptake of hepatitis B vaccination (p. 511).
In addition to higher rates of mortality, intravenous drug users are at increased risk of infection. Mertz,
et al. (2008) stated, Malnutrition, immunodeficiency, homelessness, and needle sharing contribute to a
high infection rate in these patients (p. 2). Common infections range from simple cutaneous abscesses
and cellulitis to more serious infections such as

Canada s Food Safety System Essay

Introduction
Canada s food safety system is globally recognized as one of the safest system, because we believe
food safety is the responsibility of everyone in the food environment. The Canadian Food Inspection
Agency (CFIA) is responsible for food safety at federal level. CFIA impose food safety and nutritional
standards set by Health Canada. Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC) is responsible
for protecting the health of Ontarians. Canadian government make every effort to protect the
population from health hazards and food borne illness. The Health Protection and Promotion Act
(HPPA) is the main piece of legislation outlining the important hazard reduction steps. The HPPA
authorizes the Ontario Public Health Standards (OPHS) which are functional in their individual
protocol. The Food Safety Protocol, 2015 describe the specific requirements that each health unit must
follow in order to prevent and reduce foodborne illness. Each premises must undergo a risk
assessment that evaluate hazard and level of risk.
Regulation 562, under HPPA specifies board of health (BOH) to conduct inspection of food premises.
Examining the risk of a food premises is a key part of the inspection process and assigning a numeric
score, which correlates with overall risk level of food premise. A restaurant s level of risk is dependent

Fibromyalgia Definition
In a literal translation fibromyalgia means muscle fiber pain. It is a chronic pain disorder that causes
pain and tenderness in the muscle to the touch. By affecting the way your brain processes pain signals,
researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies those sensations. Robert Bennett MD, explains that
different parts of the brain are involved in pain reactions. Pain sensation is necessary; it serves as a
reflex to avoid discomfort. This unconscious reflex of avoidance causes the brain to swiftly react,
before the actual awareness of the pain sensation occurs. This chronic disorder causes widespread
body pain, fatigue, tension headache, digestive problems, depression, anxiety and temporomandibular
joint disorder. To have an accurate diagnosis for fibromyalgia health professionals rely on physical
examination, a precise tender point examination, and the patient s history. ... Show more content on

However, there is a specific criterion for identifying fibromyalgia. Sometimes fibromyalgia is
confused with rheumatoid arthritis or lupus and other conditions like hypothyroidism and polymyalgia
rheumatic which mimics fibromyalgia. First, doctors need to base the pain and symptoms by the level
of severity and the total number out of nineteen painful areas of the body. Then if for at least three
months the symptoms remain at a similar level of discomfort and from the results of x rays and blood
test determining no other heath issues. The conclusion could then only be fibromyalgia. Scientist
discovered that women are more than likely to be diagnosis with this disease. They have also
determined that a patient is prone to develop fibromyalgia if the family history has relative conditions,

Conflict Management Arbitration and Mediation
Conflict Management Arbitration and Mediation It is well recognized that the availability of prompt,
effective and economical means of dispute resolution is an important element in the orderly growth
and encouragement of international investment and trade. Increasingly, arbitration and mediation,
instead of litigation in national courts, have become the preferred means of resolving international
commercial disputes. Arbitration: Arbitration is a procedure in which a dispute is submitted, by
agreement of the parties, to an arbitrator or to a tribunal of several arbitrators who give a decision on
the dispute that is binding on the parties. In contrast to mediation, once the parties have freely agreed
to submit a dispute to arbitration, a party cannot unilaterally withdraw from the arbitration. Expedited
Arbitration: Expedited Arbitration is, as its name suggests, a form of arbitration in which certain
modifications are introduced in order to ensure that the arbitration can be conducted and an award
rendered in a shortened time frame and, consequently, at a reduced cost. To achieve those objectives,
the modifications provide for a sole arbitrator (rather than a tribunal of several arbitrators), shortened
time periods for each of the steps involved in the arbitration proceedings, and condensed hearings
before the sole arbitrator. Mediation Followed, in the Absence of a Settlement, by Arbitration: This
procedure combines, sequentially, both mediation and arbitration. Where the

Taking a Look at Age Discrimination
Introduction
The importance of age in a social context is becoming increasingly more important (Roscigno et al.,
2007), thus individuals could strong opinions regarding specific age groups in society. Ageism could
be a process of systematic stereotyping and discrimination against people because they are old (Butler
1969, as cited in Snape and Redman, 2003, p. 79), although recent developments have resulted in
ageism also being applicable to people being too young, as well as being too old (Palmore 1990, as
cited in Snape and Redman, 2003). This paper will assess age discrimination through its causes,
effects on older workers, financial motives, employer attitudes, consequences, effects on younger
workers and positive age discrimination. This essay will argue that age discrimination primarily
affects older workers as a result of the negative stereotypes society associates with them.
Causes of Age Discrimination:
Stereotypes and assumptions are what form the phenomenon of ageism (Macnicol, 2006).
Stereotyping is the prime component in the process of ageism, which leads to age discrimination,
which includes actions such as excluding those in certain age groups or disadvantaging them
(McHullin and Marshall 2001, as cited in Snape and Redman). It has been expressed by some that
older workers have played their part, and hint at older workers to leave the workforce in order to allow
more job opportunities the upcoming younger working generation (Shah and Kleiner, 2005).

The destruction of the Mongols across Afro Eurasia and the Black Death were the factors in which
prompted the creation of the three important Islamic states. The three newly formed empires were the
Ottomans, Safavids, and Mughals and they controlled regions from Southern Europe to the northern

Indus river valley; the Safavids occupied Persia; and the Ottomans ruled Anatolia, the Arab, world,
and much of southern and eastern Europe, (Pollard, Pg. 391). The Ottoman Empire lasted the longest
of the three up until the early twentieth century due to their politics, religion tolerance, and develop of

Cloning as Solution to Food Shortages and Needs for New...
With food shortages and needs for new medicine, research, and cures, it s hard to think that there
could ever be a solution to these issues. Cloning could be one of the many solutions to the problems
that are afflicting the world as we know it. But that has many people wondering what exactly cloning
is, and, more importantly why people do it. Knowing what cloning is, why people do it, and other
opinions and feelings about cloning could help us solve these issues. To clone means to create a
genetic copy of another organism. Cloning depends on there being two cells, one of a female s egg,
and one from an adult that is intended to be cloned. (Wilmut) There are also a variety of specific types
of cloning, but two main general types: reproductive and non reproductive, also called nuclear
transplantation or therapeutic cloning. ( Cloning ) Nuclear transplantation creates clones in a different
way than reproductive cloning does. Nuclear transplantation starts when the cell is taken from the
adult, which contains the genome of the organism that is wanted to be cloned. (Cloning: Frequently)
An egg is then taken from a female, the nucleus removed, and the cell from the adult is placed into the
female s egg. These two eggs are fused together with an electric current. (Weiss) This causes the egg s
DNA to become that of the subject s egg. (Cloning: Frequently) The egg is then placed into a test tube
and allowed to split there before being placed into the surrogate. ( Cloning )

Shiloh, By Bobbie Ann Mason
Shiloh , by Bobbie Ann Mason, explores an interesting theme, the distinct parallel between the surface
level of what the events of the story are, and the meaning underneath. This parallel is seen throughout
the story, from the start when Leroy Moffitt is building craft kits for at first just to pass time, while
Norma Jean is lifting weights and working at a Rexall drugstore for the same reason; To later on when
Norma says she doesn t know what she s talking about and Leroy thinks that the way to saving his
marriage is to come up with a last minute idea. The story engages the theme of the parallel levels
through the unstable marriage of Leroy and Norma Jean. The theme of this parallel is shown overtly
through the images, descriptions, and characterizations of the log cabins in the story, and of Shiloh.
Interestingly, the characters and the world they live in are stuck on the surface, shown through how
both Leroy and Norma Jean drift on subjects, and through the names in the story.
Norma Jean and Leroy s marriage shows an insight on the theme in action because of how their lack
of understanding the inner workings of marriage, which causes them to drift apart and eventually
separate. One of the most important things in marriage is the ability to communicate, but neither of
them are able to do so on a meaningful level. An example of this is when Norma Jean starts to explain
why she wants to leave him, then as she walks away she takes back what she said, adding No, it

Firstly, as far as image goes I cannot literally produce a physical representation of a TIm Hortons cup.
The best I could do is pictures of what it looked like at the time. Secondly, while I can show images of
the inside a Tim Hortons I can not show the atmosphere of a Tim Hortons. For instance, how busy the
morning rush is with a line of people trying to get coffee. Or how you see a group of retired people
having a daily discussion at lunch time over coffee. There s only so much that can be done on the
medium of digital curation. Consequently, there are also some key issues when trying to curate the
taste of something online. Because you can say what something taste like and be very descriptive.
Ultimately, you can t truly appreciate what something tastes like until you have actually tasted it.
Lastly, while I can present in words the cultural impact that Tim Hortons and the double double has it
can t be fully represented unless you have seen it. For example, it s hard to picture how much
influence Tim Hortons has had unless you see people with Tim s cups everyday at your university or
at your place of work. By in large I feel like a did an admirable job of curating my artifact in a deep

The Film Hamlet By William Shakespeare
The film Hamlet by William Shakespeare was made by two directors in two different versions which
one was Kenneth Branagh and the other Franco Zeffirelli. By watching the four scenes of the play of
the two versions, the viewer has come up to the conclusion that Kenneth Branagh s version best
captures the essence of the play in terms of costume design, acting, directing, and cinematography.
The directing and cinematography in Act IV, Scene V the Ophelia Madness Scene as well as the
acting, costume design in Act V, Scene II the Final Scene showed that Branagh s version of the film
Hamlet is the most effective.
Branagh s use of directing in Act IV, Scene V in the Ophelia Madness Scene helped best to present the
scene in a most effective way. Ophelia has gone mad due to her father s loss, people have been
suspicious and disturbed by the death as well. Laertes who is Ophelia s sister has come back from
France with a mob of commoners who they call Laertes lord and people say that Laertes shall become
king. He enters the hall with an eager ready to avenge his father s death, Claudius the king tries to
calm him down by acknowledging that Polonius is dead. The director in Branagh s version provided a
padded cell for Ophelia where it shows that she really has gone insane and when she entered the hall,
began singing about chaos, death, and unsatisfied love. The clothes she was wrapped in demonstrates
an excellent illustration of her madness because when the

Managing Across Borders and Cultures
Intercultural management There has been a decline in the percentage of workforce in trade unions
over the last decade in industrialized countries this is especially in Europe.in the U.S membership in
unions has fallen from a third in the 1950s to close to 12% in 2006.this trend has been attributed to the
fact that there has been an increase in the proportion of service workers and white collar jobs as
compared to manufacturing workers, an increase in the proportion of part time and temporary
workers, the off shoring of jobs so as to obtain low wage cost and the general reduction in belief on
trade unions by upcoming generations (Deresky, 2011). The union systems are different in different
countries.in most of the countries, there is a single ,dominant system for industrial relation that is
applicable to nearly all workers.in Canada and United States there are two systems an organized and
unorganized systems. Both of them have their own rights and duties of the parties, employment terms
and conditions and processes and structures for making decisions.in North America there is an agent

The Unmaking Nichole Nordman Analysis
The lyrics of Nichole Nordman s The Unmaking have been 10 years in the making for the Dove award

An author s personal experience gives authenticity to their text. Peter Skrzynecki, an Australian poet
of Polish origin emigrated to Australia shortly before the end of World War II. His assimilation into his
newfound homeland is portrayed in his emotive poetry, where he explores his disconnection and
alienation. The way in which Skrzynecki writes about his personal experiences gives an authentic
insight into the perspective of a migrant, allowing the audience to better understand the challenging
emotions evoked by the migrant experience. These emotions are clearly seen in Skrzynecki s poem St
Patrick s College, where he delves back through his experiences at school and highlights the
disconnection and alienation he felt being a migrant. This disconnection is further expressed in Feliks
Skrzynecki, where Skrzynecki alludes to his detachment from even his father. These feelings of
disconnection and alienation shown by Skrzynecki in his poems, allows the audience to understand the
effects of growing up as a migrant.
The process of transitioning into a new context can put pressure on an individual to belong, leading to
disconnection for the individual if they don t belong. Peter Skrzynecki was enrolled into a Catholic

Explain How To Determine A Cat s Age
How to Determine a Cat s Age
According to The American Veterinary Medical Association market statistics there are approximately
82 million domesticated cats populating American households. A cat can make a loving pet, but expect
to make a commitment to care for them for up to fifteen years. There are several factors that are used
to establish a cat s age and life expectancy.
On average, a domesticated, indoor cat can live on average 14 16 years for a female and 12 14 for a
male. In rare instances, some cats have lived to 20 30 years of age. An outdoor, household cat has a
life span of almost ten years. Alternatively, a feral cat s lifespan is estimated to be only 3 4 years. A
feral cat is a wild, undomesticated cat that lives outside and depends on its own devices for food,
shelter, and protection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
An adult cat s coat will become coarser and thicker, and color may change from dark to light or vice
versa.
A cat s lifespan is dependent on several owner maintenance factors and genetics. Cats that are spayed
or neutered and live indoors have the longest life expectancy. They are less likely to have tragic deaths
caused by traffic accidents, fights with predators, or exposure to lethal chemicals and diseases.
Providing a cat with a well balanced diet based on their individual needs will add years to their life.
Regular vaccinations and veterinarian care will reduce the risk of feline diseases and can lead to early
detection of health conditions.
At one time, it was thought that a cat ages seven human years for each calendar year. This has been
proven a misconception. A cat ages quickly the first two years of life and then age progresses slower
in the years after. At one year of age, a cat is approximately 15 years old in human years. By the age of
two, it has aged to 24 human years. Each of the following years the cat ages approximately four
human years; therefore a five year old feline is equal to 36 years

Without a proper diagnosis, change is very likely to fail (Pellettiere, 2006). Alderfer (1980) states
organizational diagnosis proceeds in there orderly phases: entry, data collection, and feedback (p.
460). The entry phase consists of identifying who will participate in the assessment and if an
agreement can be reached (Alderfer, 1980). The data collection phase consists of collecting the
information and then analysis of the information (Alderfer, 1980). The feedback phase consists of
sharing the results with the organization along with suggestions for the organization (Alderfer, 1980;
Preziosi, 2012). The feedback should consist of strengths and weaknesses within the organization
(Alderfer, 1980). Salem (2002) states there are three type of assessments: structural assessments,
functional assessments, and process assessments. Structural assessments are a snapshot of a specific
point in time, functional assessments relates antecedents with actions and outcomes, and process

Bandura s Social Cognitive Learning Model
Bandura s Social Cognitive Learning Model (Observational Learning) The term learning is defined by
the Oxford dictionary as the process of acquiring knowledge from reading and studying. This is a very
formal view on how we humans learn on a daily basis. However, Bandura s Social Cognitive Learning
Model proposes that learning may occur just by mere observation of one s surrounding. This process
of learning may be also referred to as informal learning. This way of learning has been in practice
since the beginning of our civilisation as a method to pass on the wisdom of the elders to the younger
generations in order to perform day to day tasks. Bandura on the other hand calls this form of learning
as Observational Learning. This theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this experiment, each child was brought into a room individually and asked to watch a clip of a
model displaying both physical and verbal aggression towards the Bobo doll. In the model rewarded
condition the model was awarded with sweets and soft drinks while in the model punished condition a
reinforcing model was brought in shaking his finger and giving comments such as If I catch you doing
that again... I ll give you a hard spanking. . The results showed that when let to go in the playroom,
children on the model punished condition showed less imitative aggression than the other groups.
However, if all children were given rewards for imitating the model, all groups showed a high level of
imitation. With this information Bandura then postulated that observational learning consists of four
aspects. Firstly, attention a process whereby people observe and gain certain information on the
behaviour or situation being observed. Secondly, retention which involves a process of transforming
and restructuring information in the form of rules and conceptions (Wood Bandura , 1989). Next,
reproduction where the individual reenacts the behaviour that was formerly observed. Finally,
motivation which is what the individual needs in order to repeat the behaviour in order to learn

Free the Children from Child Labour
Free The Children from Child Labour:
The Disadvantageous of Child Labour
Two hundred million children are suffering in the world! the world has an estimated 186 million child
labourers 5,7 million in forced and bonded labor, 1.8 million in prostitution, and 0.3 million in armed
conflict .( Basu amp; Tzannatos, 2003, p.147). In Africa, Asia and the Middle East, a huge number of
children are child labourers, and most of them under 14 years old. However, they are working hard as
same as adults; they are working long hours every day, and work in harsh, dangerous and harmful
conditions. They can t have normal lives as other children; they can t go to school and stay with their
families, because they must earn money for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Thus, child labour only can cause poor education to children, and can not give them any benefits.
Be abused People think work doesn t harm children, but the truth is children sometimes are abused by
their employers such as work as slaves and they may get sexual abuse. Children are easy to exploit
through manipulation and psychological control mechanisms. They fear of violence and punishment.
Also, they are inexperienced in life, so they only can trust adults. Thus, children easily get abuse from
employers and are controlled by adults. For instance, in the coffee farm in Africa, a worker told a boy
about a child who tried to escape, but failed. The child was caught and badly beaten. This made the
boy afraid and scared. Therefore, fear of punishment make children keep working as slaves for
employers. (Kielland amp; Tovo, 2006). Sexual abuse is really common in African child labourers. It
causes some serious problem to children such as HIV/AIDS. Working children get sexual abuse more
than non working children. For instance, according to Kielland and Tovo. (2006). In their article, child
labour in the commercial labor market , girls work in restaurants longer than boys, and working late
hours in a place where alcohol is served. Some girls provide service which is far beyond food and
drinks. Because there have no general responsibility for those female child labourers, and people think
it is a good

The Zebr An Ideal Domestication Of Animals
corn. Other animals, depend largely on eating other vulnerable animals to ensure their survival, which
would cost humans to have to catch animals for the animal, making the domestication process slower
and less sustaining. Many animals are too finicky about their diet, and only eat certain types of plants
or foods that may be harder for humans to retain.
A disregard or a disposition for humans, is another obstacle in the way of domestication of certain
animals. Many animals, are inherently hostile towards the human being, and will attack, bite, avoid, or
kill if necessary a human. An example of such an animal, is the zebra. The zebra would be seen as an
ideal domesticated animal, like a horse. However, these nervous creatures, can be hostile,

Athletes Who Abuse Anabolic Steroids
The purpose of this study is to examine different variables that affect athletes who abuse steroids. This
study strives to answer the question How does doping in sports affect all athletes (High school
Professional) physically? The goal is to look at trends and patterns in recent history of all sport
associations and high school athletes and determine whether or not the trend in growing.
Anabolic steroids are used by many to make muscles bigger, more defined and have less fat. The
consumption of these drugs is most common and obvious in body builders and powerlifters. Other
athletes like Olympic runners, NBA, NFL, Golf and MLB players use them illegally to gain an
advantage over their opponents. Illegal steroid doses are 10 100 times ... Show more content on

Frankenstein Monster Monologue
I am, to date, the only known survivor. Trust me, I ve been looking for this thing for a very long time.
It preys on anyone; age, gender, sexuality. None of that matters. So far, there has been no way to
connect the victims. Hell, not even blood types are a factor. That was the first thing I ruled out. Seems
complicated doesn t it? It really wasn t. My friend was a target too, his blood type was A, while mine
was B. But anyway, back to this thing that attacked me. If you could even say that. It may appear to
want to physically attack you, you know, the usual teeth, claws, giant build. Instead, it gets in your
head. Brings your greatest flaws or weaknesses to life. Thing is, only you can see what s going on. No
one around you notices a thing wrong. On the outside you appear normal, carrying on with your day.
In your head, it s a totally different story. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I m going to let the creature come after you. Perhaps you could be part of my study of the thing.
Would you die? Most likely. Remember, I did say I m the only survivor. I think there s a reason for
that. Someone has to put the creature in the books. That s what I ll call it. The Creature. Has a nice
ring to it, don t you think? Now, don t you start calling me crazy. I assure you, my dear, I am
completely sane. I just need another victim. One more and I m sure I could find some kind of
connection. And then, I would be able to stop The Creature before it could attack again! Wouldn t that

With concerns of environmental degradation becoming more and more prevalent, humanity has been taking new initiatives in order to restore our once thriving environments. While some are just beginning to address the issue now, others have been looking out for our Mother Nature much longer. One such group of people are called Buddhists. Nature has played a significant role in the formation of Buddhism and also remains an important concept in the teachings of today. The interdependencies that Buddhism preaches are directly related to nature because they realize that things as small as a flower can have a great impact on them through the interdependencies of life. ... From the public garden, to the transformed house, to the flowers inside the center, there were plenty of reminders that expressed the importance of ecology to the congregation. The public garden is a great way for the center to benefit our environment while also reaching out to the community. The idea of a public garden is great because it not only creates a better environment around us, but it also attempts to influence many people to do the same. Additionally, the garden includes a bike rack. The bike rack further suggests the center s commitment to environmentally friendly activities. The garden is one of the most apparent traits of the center that makes it unique from other congregations that I have seen. Similar to what the speakers from Interfaith Power and Light discussed, the center has the ability to unite its members and serve as a catalyst to create a community of environmentally conscious people. This experiment was conducted to observe the enzyme catalase and how it reacts with hydrogen peroxide. The liver was chosen as the catalyst in the experiment because that is where catalases are predominantly found in mammals. This is a practical experiment because it teaches one how catalases react with other substances and observing how they destroy harmful substances in the living things. It also shows how enzymes speed up experiments. Enzymes are proteins that act as catalysts within living cells. They are composed of long chains of amino acids. Objective The overall purpose of my research is to identify and minimise the gap between what the students in terms of quality expect and what the University of Waikato s Master of Business and Management (MBM) deliver. It aims to make the MBM programme more efficient through being more aligned towards the student expectations and also promote better academic performance among the students. Introduction Universities around the world come up with ideas to promote their programmes among the prospective students to both boost their reputation by producing top class professionals and also to raise revenue to improve on their service. The word quality means different things to different people. To measure the service quality of an institution, it is essential to understand how the key stakeholders define quality. The key stakeholders who are a part of the university are the faculty and the students. It is hence staffs and students definitions of quality that need to be analysed to develop a programme that aligns with their perceptions and meets their expectations. Therefore, this research will focus on seeking answers to the following questions: 1. What is the student perception of quality? 2. What is the staff perception of quality? 3. How does MBM programme compare with best practices around the world? University of Waikato with the Triple Crown accreditation was ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This revolution was the result of many things, though it majorly began as a revolt by the peasant and working classes against the current czar, Nicholas II, and the Russian government. It was when the final czar and his family were killed. This revolution is what led Lenin and the Bolsheviks into power. Soon, they were joined by military officials and soldiers who refused to shoot the crowds. The czar tried replacing officials in the government, believing that not only would the government approve more of these officials, but that they would be more effective in handling these issues. This ended up failing as the new officials were objectively worse than the old ones. In the end these attempts led to extreme unrest in Russia, making it very easy for people such as Lenin and the Bolsheviks to come and start the ultimate revolution and take down the current monarchical government. The war brought with it many economic and militaristic issues that ultimately led to the Bolshevik Revolution. The military revolts were a major part of the Russian Revolution, making it very difficult for battles to be won on the Russian front. This meant they made no major moves either beneficial or detrimental to either side of the war. Much of this is to the fault of Czar Nicholas II, as, despite having no prior military experience, he decided to lead the military effort. As mentioned previously, an estimated fifteen and a half million men were drafted from peasant and working class areas. This led to many of them being untrained. When they were sent to war, many had to wait months in barracks just to be trained. Many were trained with broomsticks due to lack of proper weapons and training tools. • 10. Factors Influencing Dynamic Control Of The Helicopter Pilots The helicopter pilots, in general, are required to be skillful in operations on both improved and unimproved surfaces. During normal or slope takeoffs and landings with some degree of bank angle or side drift with one skid or wheel on the ground causes the helicopter to roll. When the rollover happens, the lateral cyclic control response becomes more sluggish and less effective than for a hovering helicopter. Consequently, if a roll rate is permitted to develop, a critical bank angle may be reached where roll cannot be corrected, even with full lateral cyclic, and the helicopter will roll over onto its side. As the roll rate increases, the angle at which recovery is still possible is significantly reduced. The critical rollover angle is also reduced. So, the goal of this essay is to cover the factors influencing dynamic control such as solo flight, cross wind, tail rotor thrust etc. and understand the recognition of dynamic rollover, how to avoid it and steps required for recovery. In addition, the effects of critical rollover angle on dynamic rollover and factors influencing dynamic rollover are also discussed. Introduction: An increasing percentage of helicopter accidents are attributed to dynamic rollover, results in destruction of helicopter and some serious injuries to the helicopter pilots and crew. The dynamic rollover is a condition of power flight, where helicopter tends to roll laterally. When a helicopter is lifting off the ground or it is hovering with one ... • 11. Ozment And The Lutheran Reformation Essay Ozment The Lutheran Reformation By: Hanan M. Madbouly Long before Martin Luther was one of Germany s most famous reformers, Lucas Cranach a painter from Franconia served sixteen years as a court painter in Wittenberg. Wittenberg turned out to be the center for the Renaissance; this small town would be where the Renaissance would emerge. As Luther references it, it became the birthplace of religious pluralism and independent beliefs for freedom that we tend to hold dear today. By doing so, these two men were attracted to one another for the cause of reform, on the cultural, domestic, religious, and political fronts. Cranach had taken up residence in the city in 1505 right around the time Saxon princes seemed to be redeveloping their townhouses, castles, grounds, and churches. From the very beginning of his work Cranach presented a new outlook on are for that time. With this status Cranach was able to raise to the top of his field, very few artists of the time were given the luxuries he receivedfor his role as the new court painter. • 12. Ancient Mariner Allusions In the Rime of the Ancient Mariner , Samuel Taylor Coleridge introduces an elderly sailor, whom of which is also referred to as the Ancient Mariner. In the poem, the Mariner narrates his tale of sorrow to a wedding guest. The story consists of the mariner setting out at sea with two hundred men. They come across an albatross, which is viewed as good luck, and the Mariner shoots it dead. In the event of his spiteful actions, he and his crew are haunted by Biblical allusions; all of which is created to further deepen the meaning of the poem. However, when the winds return and the fog clears, they blame the Albatross for their misfortune of being stuck in the mist and begin to stand by the bird s death: Ah wretch! Said they, the bird to slay that made the breeze to blow! (Coleridge 23). Due to the sailor s agreeance towards the death of the Albatross, they now share the guilt of the crime. But as they face the hardship of the still waters at sea, some dream of the spirit that tormented them in the land of mist and snow . Hoping to escape the misery, the sailors try to pin the fault on the Mariner alone by hanging the Albatross around his neck: Ah! Well a day! What evil looks had I from old and young! Instead of the cross, the Albatross about my neck was hung (Coleridge 34). Coleridge uses the act of hanging the albatross around the Mariners neck in order to refer to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. By doing so, he is able to illustrate a sense of loss of hope. This is comparable to the loss of hope experienced when Jesus was being nailed to the cross. In fact the first gay rights movement dates back to 1924 with the creation of The Society for Human Rights in Chicago, Illinois. It wasn t until the 1960 s that gay rights started to make progress. In the year 1969 The Stonewall Riots took place when gay, lesbian, and transgender patrons of a New York bar were raided by the police. Complete acceptance of homosexuality will probably never be gained within society however there are still various adversities homosexuals must endure more than heterosexuals, such as anti gay bullying within school systems, various types of discrimination, and ultimately fighting for their basic rights. We then only observe the external world of Jack and his siblings from his single viewpoint. All is filtered through his lonely and questionable perception. This creates a sense of the claustrophobia that pervades the boy s world. The discomfort that readers feel parallels and prepares them for Jack s anguished, alienated and contained inner world. The family, even before the parents death, is divided within itself and isolated from other people. Thus Jack s lonely voice lends the narration an air of obsessive and unhealthy emphasis on the very factors that create, generate and sustain the isolated obsessions dominating this family. The writer s concentrated narrative makes the cultural and social location of the family difficult to determine. • 18. Effective Classroom Interaction And Pupil Management Assignment 1 Effective lessons in IT Classroom interaction and pupil management Meeting individual differences Helping pupils learn Assessment The school curriculum and society What is an effective teacher? An effective teacher is a pupil manager that can aid personalised learning and classroom interaction. They are someone who meets individual s needs and reduces teacher dependency. They understand the concepts of learning. The successful teacher cares, the successful teacher teaches well and the successful teacher manages well (Marlands(1993, p.6 7). Graham et al. (2001) number one principle for an effective teacher is to encourage student faculty contact. This stood out as it is a little absurd compared to other lists and descriptions of what teachers should be. However it does make sense, looking back at your school days you do associate a subject with a faculty and the efficiency of that faculty, especially at GCSE, AS and A level stages when you rely on those faculties the most. Graham et al. (2001) study showed that students that weren t responded to quickly would feel ignored and faculty expectations would be decreased, showing a lack of trust and therefore wanting to learn by the subject. One of the main arguments behind good understanding is the argument for independent learning as opposed to teacher dependency. In this depiction of Dionysus he is again seen holding a thyros but unlike the previous vessel instead of the presence of vines we see him holding a wine cup (kylix), which is a very common attribute of the god. To the right we see a satyr playing the flute. The satyr could be one of the Titiyroi classes of satyr as he shares many of the main characteristics of them, such as the flute and his tail. To the left of Dionysus stands a woman holding a wine jug (oinchoe). It is hard to tell who this woman is, as there are many possibilities. She could be a maenad for the reason that maenads show up in a lot of artwork with Dionysus. However this would not be a normal showing of a maenad. Maenads are usually seen holding a thyros, wearing a wreath of ivy, holding a musical instrument or wearing some kind of animal print. This woman could be Ariadne, the wife of Dionysus. In Greek artwork, Ariadne is often seen with Dionysus. Both pots share a similar artistic style and depict Dionysus in a very comparable way. The slight differences that you do see between them could be because of the time difference between each work. Nevertheless both vessels depict Dionysus in the usual way. Both pots lack a mythical story behind it and seem to be a general scene. While the first pot looks like a worship to Dionysus, the second pot looks like a general depiction of Dionysus and the people/creatures ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The dilemma comes in when taking two different artist with different styles from different time periods and comparing and contrasting them. The ability to contrast would be facile, but the truth hides behind the ability to compare such divergent artwork. Artwork that one may look at first glance and find more dissimilar, then finding the juxtaposition of the two pieces of artwork. Even though Poussin and Toulouse Lautrec s pieces of artwork can be considered different at first sight, looking more in depth into both pieces one will be able to find several contrasts and comparisons. As the number of intravenous drug users continues to rise, so does the risk of dangerous and potentially fatal complications that are associated with illicit drug use. In this population, death rates are higher due to overdose, AIDs related mortality, and other blood borne viruses (Mathers et al., 2013). Mortality rates remain high even though precautions have been taken to reduce them. According to Lavender McCarron (2013), Mortality in injecting drug users is up to 22 times higher than for the age adjusted population, despite increased provision of needle and syringe programs, reduced needle and syringe sharing, and higher uptake of hepatitis B vaccination (p. 511). In addition to higher rates of mortality, intravenous drug users are at increased risk of infection. Mertz, et al. By affecting the way your brain processes pain signals, researchers believe that fibromyalgia amplifies those sensations. Robert Bennett MD, explains that different parts of the brain are involved in pain reactions. Pain sensation is necessary; it serves as a reflex to avoid discomfort. This unconscious reflex of avoidance causes the brain to swiftly react, before the actual awareness of the pain sensation occurs. This chronic disorder causes widespread body pain, fatigue, tension headache, digestive problems, depression, anxiety and temporomandibular joint disorder. • 24. Conflict Management Arbitration and Mediation Conflict Management Arbitration and Mediation It is well recognized that the availability of prompt, effective and economical means of dispute resolution is an important element in the orderly growth and encouragement of international investment and trade. Increasingly, arbitration and mediation, instead of litigation in national courts, have become the preferred means of resolving international commercial disputes. Arbitration: Arbitration is a procedure in which a dispute is submitted, by agreement of the parties, to an arbitrator or to a tribunal of several arbitrators who give a decision on the dispute that is binding on the parties. In contrast to mediation, once the parties have freely agreed to submit a dispute to arbitration, a party cannot unilaterally withdraw from the arbitration. Expedited Arbitration: Expedited Arbitration is, as its name suggests, a form of arbitration in which certain modifications are introduced in order to ensure that the arbitration can be conducted and an award rendered in a shortened time frame and, consequently, at a reduced cost. To achieve those objectives, the modifications provide for a sole arbitrator (rather than a tribunal of several arbitrators), shortened time periods for each of the steps involved in the arbitration proceedings, and condensed hearings before the sole arbitrator. Taking a Look at Age Discrimination Introduction The importance of age in a social context is becoming increasingly more important (Roscigno et al., 2007), thus individuals could strong opinions regarding specific age groups in society. Ageism could be a process of systematic stereotyping and discrimination against people because they are old (Butler 1969, as cited in Snape and Redman, 2003, p. 79), although recent developments have resulted in ageism also being applicable to people being too young, as well as being too old (Palmore 1990, as cited in Snape and Redman, 2003). This paper will assess age discrimination through its causes, effects on older workers, financial motives, employer attitudes, consequences, effects on younger workers and positive age discrimination. This essay will argue that age discrimination primarily affects older workers as a result of the negative stereotypes society associates with them. Causes of Age Discrimination: Stereotypes and assumptions are what form the phenomenon of ageism (Macnicol, 2006). Stereotyping is the prime component in the process of ageism, which leads to age discrimination, which includes actions such as excluding those in certain age groups or disadvantaging them (McHullin and Marshall 2001, as cited in Snape and Redman). It has been expressed by some that older workers have played their part, and hint at older workers to leave the workforce in order to allow more job opportunities the upcoming younger working generation (Shah and Kleiner, 2005). ... With food shortages and needs for new medicine, research, and cures, it s hard to think that there could ever be a solution to these issues. Cloning could be one of the many solutions to the problems that are afflicting the world as we know it. But that has many people wondering what exactly cloning is, and, more importantly why people do it. Knowing what cloning is, why people do it, and other opinions and feelings about cloning could help us solve these issues. To clone means to create a genetic copy of another organism. Cloning depends on there being two cells, one of a female s egg, and one from an adult that is intended to be cloned. (Wilmut) There are also a variety of specific types of cloning, but two main general types: reproductive and non reproductive, also called nuclear transplantation or therapeutic cloning. ( Cloning ) Nuclear transplantation creates clones in a different way than reproductive cloning does. Nuclear transplantation starts when the cell is taken from the adult, which contains the genome of the organism that is wanted to be cloned. (Cloning: Frequently) An egg is then taken from a female, the nucleus removed, and the cell from the adult is placed into the female s egg. These two eggs are fused together with an electric current. Shiloh, By Bobbie Ann Mason Shiloh , by Bobbie Ann Mason, explores an interesting theme, the distinct parallel between the surface level of what the events of the story are, and the meaning underneath. This parallel is seen throughout the story, from the start when Leroy Moffitt is building craft kits for at first just to pass time, while Norma Jean is lifting weights and working at a Rexall drugstore for the same reason; To later on when Norma says she doesn t know what she s talking about and Leroy thinks that the way to saving his marriage is to come up with a last minute idea. The story engages the theme of the parallel levels through the unstable marriage of Leroy and Norma Jean. The theme of this parallel is shown overtly through the images, descriptions, and characterizations of the log cabins in the story, and of Shiloh. Interestingly, the characters and the world they live in are stuck on the surface, shown through how both Leroy and Norma Jean drift on subjects, and through the names in the story. Norma Jean and Leroy s marriage shows an insight on the theme in action because of how their lack of understanding the inner workings of marriage, which causes them to drift apart and eventually separate. One of the most important things in marriage is the ability to communicate, but neither of them are able to do so on a meaningful level. Alderfer (1980) states organizational diagnosis proceeds in there orderly phases: entry, data collection, and feedback (p. 460). The entry phase consists of identifying who will participate in the assessment and if an agreement can be reached (Alderfer, 1980). The data collection phase consists of collecting the information and then analysis of the information (Alderfer, 1980). The feedback phase consists of sharing the results with the organization along with suggestions for the organization (Alderfer, 1980; Preziosi, 2012). The feedback should consist of strengths and weaknesses within the organization (Alderfer, 1980). Salem (2002) states there are three type of assessments: structural assessments, functional assessments, and process assessments. Structural assessments are a snapshot of a specific point in time, functional assessments relates antecedents with actions and outcomes, and process assessments consists of collecting data over an extended period of time (Alderfer, 1980). SWOT Analysis SWOT Anlysis is an acronym which stands for strength, weakness, opportunities, and threats (Balamuralikrishna amp; Dugger, 1995; Boonstra, 2003; Hughes, 2007; Mind Tools, 2012; RapidBI, 2010; Renault, 2012). • 41. Bandura s Social Cognitive Learning Model Bandura s Social Cognitive Learning Model (Observational Learning) The term learning is defined by the Oxford dictionary as the process of acquiring knowledge from reading and studying. This is a very formal view on how we humans learn on a daily basis. However, Bandura s Social Cognitive Learning Model proposes that learning may occur just by mere observation of one s surrounding. This process of learning may be also referred to as informal learning. This way of learning has been in practice since the beginning of our civilisation as a method to pass on the wisdom of the elders to the younger generations in order to perform day to day tasks. Bandura on the other hand calls this form of learning as Observational Learning. This theory ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In this experiment, each child was brought into a room individually and asked to watch a clip of a model displaying both physical and verbal aggression towards the Bobo doll. In the model rewarded condition the model was awarded with sweets and soft drinks while in the model punished condition a reinforcing model was brought in shaking his finger and giving comments such as If I catch you doing that again... I ll give you a hard spanking. . The results showed that when let to go in the playroom, children on the model punished condition showed less imitative aggression than the other groups. However, if all children were given rewards for imitating the model, all groups showed a high level of imitation. With this information Bandura then postulated that observational learning consists of four aspects. Firstly, attention a process whereby people observe and gain certain information on the behaviour or situation being observed. Secondly, retention which involves a process of transforming and restructuring information in the form of rules and conceptions (Wood Bandura , 1989). Next, reproduction where the individual reenacts the behaviour that was formerly observed. Finally, motivation which is what the individual needs in order to repeat the behaviour in order to learn ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Thus, child labour only can cause poor education to children, and can not give them any benefits. Be abused People think work doesn t harm children, but the truth is children sometimes are abused by their employers such as work as slaves and they may get sexual abuse. Children are easy to exploit through manipulation and psychological control mechanisms. They fear of violence and punishment. Also, they are inexperienced in life, so they only can trust adults. Thus, children easily get abuse from employers and are controlled by adults. For instance, in the coffee farm in Africa, a worker told a boy about a child who tried to escape, but failed. The child was caught and badly beaten. This made the boy afraid and scared. Therefore, fear of punishment make children keep working as slaves for employers. (Kielland amp; Tovo, 2006). Sexual abuse is really common in African child labourers. It causes some serious problem to children such as HIV/AIDS. Working children get sexual abuse more than non working children. For instance, according to Kielland and Tovo. (2006). In their article, child labour in the commercial labor market , girls work in restaurants longer than boys, and working late hours in a place where alcohol is served. • 44. The Zebr An Ideal Domestication Of Animals corn. Other animals, depend largely on eating other vulnerable animals to ensure their survival, which would cost humans to have to catch animals for the animal, making the domestication process slower and less sustaining. Many animals are too finicky about their diet, and only eat certain types of plants or foods that may be harder for humans to retain. A disregard or a disposition for humans, is another obstacle in the way of domestication of certain animals. Many animals, are inherently hostile towards the human being, and will attack, bite, avoid, or kill if necessary a human. An example of such an animal, is the zebra. • 46. Frankenstein Monster Monologue I am, to date, the only known survivor. Trust me, I ve been looking for this thing for a very long time. It preys on anyone; age, gender, sexuality. None of that matters. So far, there has been no way to connect the victims. Hell, not even blood types are a factor. That was the first thing I ruled out. Seems complicated doesn t it? It really wasn t. My friend was a target too, his blood type was A, while mine was B. But anyway, back to this thing that attacked me. If you could even say that. It may appear to want to physically attack you, you know, the usual teeth, claws, giant build. Instead, it gets in your head. Brings your greatest flaws or weaknesses to life. Thing is, only you can see what s going on. No one around you notices a thing wrong. On the outside you appear normal, carrying on with your day. In your head, it s a totally different story. ...
