Background
The Case study is an email conversation between two colleagues Jane Epstein Rick Lazarus. Jane has
joined Technico recently and Rick was her colleague and trusted friend from the last company. Jane is
discussing with Rick about the new current company and the staff she got there. She individually
described the personalities of her staff like Caroline as universally trusted (according to her), Tom as a

As Andy continuously bullies employs they get demoralised and were unable to give their 100% to
their work because of his fear and negative critics.
Caroline despite of being a good worker, needs to be more professional. She needs to differentiate
between her professional and personal life, and must prioritize her personal issues so that that they don
t affect her work and professional commitments (work life balance).
Work culture is being affected I a negative way, due to Andy s discouraging attitude, whenever
somebody doesn t performs, he is pissed off,
One needs to work as a team work attitude, bullying and dominating are restraints to growth and team
work.
Team morale is going down. As the only feedback the get from Andy is negative
Andy is not praising any of the efforts the team is putting in but is sure to highlight the glitches that
are coming across the project because of them.
The staff members do not know the importance of working in a diverse team and adjust within the
team.
Plausible solutions:
1 Have a second briefing with Andy and ask him to mellow down a little bit with the staff. Try to talk
him out that the staff will cooperate more with him, only if he is a little adjusting and open with them
and doesn t humiliate them in front of others. People go through grey patch and as their senior, he
should consider the emotional stance of his staff and try to make them comfortable, so that the

How The Ansari X Prize International Hotel Project Will Be...
INTRODUCTION The project schedule is to be set up and to roadmap on how the Ansari X prize
International hotel project will be determine or executed, by team leaders. Schedule are very
important, they re and important part of any project you work on, as they provide the project team
sponsor, and stakeholders with a great view or picture of the project status at any given time. The
schedule management plan has some great tools, and it has a main purpose to define the approach the
project team has and will use in many occasions on creating the project schedule. The plan includes
how the team you re working with will create and monitor the project schedule and most importantly
manage the changes after the baseline schedule has been set up and approved. The main aspect of the
team schedule will include identifying, analyzing, documenting, prioritizing, approving or rejecting,
and most importantly publishing all the correct schedule related, to the project. The other important
aspect will be the methodology of quantify research, that will be used to reduce the different project
failures and also schedule overruns while using statistical attributes that will help you monitor the
project during its lifecycle, and also help you measure any type of data to formulate the different facts
within the project and the parameters of the project scope, this will help with the project. The analysis

Unrestricted Progression
The Light of Unrestricted Progression The average human lifestyle has drastically improved over the
past several years. Advances in medicine and technology have directly led to an irrevocable increase
in both the quality of living, as well as the length of average lifetimes. Prior to this modern revolution
of medical applications, humans who lived during the middle ages were stricken with plagues, disease,
injuries, and other difficulties with health that greatly wreaked havoc on mortality rates. Since
remaining in a state of adequate health is so fundamental to human satisfaction and progression,
individuals have historically centered the majority of their existence on ensuring that the underlying

The benefits and opportunities to embrace engineering far outweigh the difficulties in the process, but
despite this, my pure love for mathematics has been the major contributor to my ambitions. From a
young age, I found math incredibly enjoyable. The order and consistency found through something as
simple as the order of operations served as a driving force to my curiosity and dedication to the
subject. As the mathematical concepts intensified, I was able to adequately keep up and enjoy the
journey along the way. While signing up for my senior year classes, the decision to take calculus was
made easily. While speaking with the instructor, Yvonne Sebastian, I discovered that her love for math
was derived from similar feelings. In an interview with Sebastian, she stated, Math is a beautiful thing.
Numbers are incredibly simple, but they can be used to calculate very complex scenarios. No matter
how difficult a problem may seem, there is always a solution, an answer that can be found and
understood through the power of math (Y. Sebastian, personal communication, February 14, 2017).
Interacting with a teacher who understood to a great level of degree my similar feelings regarding
math has been an incredible motivator in my desire to pursue a career which incorporates mathematics
frequently. For any individual to be happy with their occupation, I would argue that they must
experience a desire to progress

To Kill A Mockingbird Aphorisms
TKM Aphorism Project I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that
courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It s when you know you re licked before you begin but you
begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do. (Lee
149). True bravery is when you re aware that the odds are against you, however, you have the ability
to persevere through it. Even though you don t want to complete the task ahead of you, an inner force
brings you the motivation to do it. Sincere courageousness doesn t always entail violence; in fact,
courage comes from the choices made within that affect yourself or those around you. The outcome
may not always be to your advantage, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Atticus wants Scout to be less hot headed and more diplomatic. Her first instinct when placed in a
situation where she has the disadvantage is to beat that person up. Atticus wants to teach Scout to deal
with harsh, rude remarks calmly so they don t boil up inside her. He wants her to learn to work out
problems nicely because she has a logical mind if she would use it correctly. She rebels against what
she s taught when she s thinking too quickly but if she took time to sort things out, a peaceful solution
could be reached. Cecil Jacobs, a boy at Scout s school, announced that Scout s father defended n s
and was a disgrace. Scout was infuriated by the way he said it. She was ready to defend herself and
Atticus with her fists but decided against it and walked away. She listened to Atticus s advice because
she didn t want to let him down. Even though she was called a coward, she retained her dignity
through Atticus s approval. In general, anyone who has to deal with a bully shouldn t fight fire with
fire. Retaliation and physical fights are not the answer. Maintain pride in yourself and your beliefs.
Don t stoop so low as to want to hurt someone. As an alternative, find a solution that will make sure
that problem isn t aroused again. Simply because we were licked a hundred years before we started is
no reason for us not to try to win. (Lee 101). Even if history had its rough patches, there is still a

Legalizing Exotic Animals
The United States has many laws against owning exotic animals, yet people do it anyway. It s said to
be a multi billion dollar industry second in line to the distribution of drugs and weapons on the black
market. The amount of money in the United States alone made is fifteen billion dollars. With the help
of the internet and trade magazines it makes it easier for breeders and dealers to get business. Millions
of animals are forced into exotic animal trades because of the government and their laws against it.
People wouldn t act so poorly to the animals if the government allowed some exotic animals to be

The only thing they do towards exotic animal trade is simply making laws and acts against it. If it
truly was a major problem then they should be doing more to stop it. If owning one of these animals is
so bad then why doesn t the United States government step in and take control by putting money into
stopping the trade and regulating and seriously enforcing laws. The government does so little toward
keeping people from owning an exotic animal, the hardest part to get by is the individual state laws
about the subject. The laws against owning an exotic animal varies greatly from state to state, there
really isn t much that the government does at a federal level. The individual states can have a complete
ban on owning an exotic animals while different ones simply require a permit. The United States
government doesn t have a general police power which limits their power on this notion greatly.
Depending on the animal you re looking to acquire you may just need a license from the U.S.

Drug Rehab Center Essay
Know your addiction
Since most centers treat specific types of addiction like drugs or alcohol, it is of great importance to

rehab center is the ideal de addiction place for you.

If you are covered by an insurance policy, consult with your service provider before the treatment
begins. Most drug rehab centers will help you qualify your benefits prior to scheduling your stay.
The entry requirements
Whether you re a new or a relapsing client, support groups and information sessions like Drug Rehab
Center in FL will always accept you. The only entry requirement is to abstain from drug or alcohol use
when you begin the program. Abstinence is not always requirement for psychological program, but
medical programs require abstinence because of the detoxification effects.
Know the philosophy of treatment
Whether it s spiritual, mental or physical, you must agree with the program s philosophy. All addiction
treatments have different philosophies. The Good Future Rehab Center of Florida uses a 12 step
approach.
The time and duration of stay
Contrary to the stereotypes, many people continue to work full time or part time. Good Future Rehab
Center offers either a full time residential program where staying in the center for 24 hours a day for
weeks or months is needed or a part time outpatient basis where only a few hours are required per day.
Choosing an Addiction Treatment Center is only the beginning. When the addicted person decides to

Terrorism In Kenya Essay
Terrorism in Kenya
Introduction
Kenya has been the battlefield of tragic terrorist attacks on western interests twice since 1998 once in
1998 when the US embassy was attacked and a second time in 2002 when a Israeli owned Paradise
hotel was bombed. In 1980, Jewish owned Norfolk hotel was attacked by the PLO. Every single attack
shared a common thread of irony: the majority of the lives lost were Kenyan, even though the
ideology behind the attacks suggests that Kenyan and Kenyans were not involved in the political
dynamic that precipitated the attacks.
The paper seeks to understand the political, social and cultural variables that have thrown Kenya into

In 1980 terrorists linked to the Palestinian Liberation Organization attacked the Jewish owned Norfolk
hotel in Nairobi killing 15 people, most of them Kenyans.
In 1998, the U.S. Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya and the one in neighboring Tanzania were bombed.
According to official Kenyan government figures, 213 people were killed in the blast that gutted the
U.S. Embassy building in downtown Nairobi. That included 12 American workers and 34 of their
Kenyan colleagues, called foreign service nationals [FSNs]. More than 4,000 Kenyans were also
injured in the explosion.
In 2002, three suicide bombers attacked an Israeli owned hotel, killing 11 Kenyans, 3 Israelis and
wounding dozens. Almost simultaneously, at least two missiles were fired at but missed an Israeli
airliner taking off from Mombasa airport. A previously unknown militant group calling itself The
Government of Universal Palestine in Exile, The Army of Palestine, issued a statement in Lebanon
claiming responsibility saying the operations were timed to mark the eve of the anniversary of the
Nov. 29, 1947, decision by the United Nations to partition Palestine and allow creation of a Jewish
state.[2]
More recently, in May 2003, warnings of possible imminent attacks in Kenya were issued on by
officials in Washington, London and Berlin. Britain ordered British airlines to halt flights to Kenya

What Was The Causes Of Haiti Earthquake
The earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010 caused 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings to
collapse or be damaged. The earthquake also killed 100,000 to 160,000 people. However, this
earthquake was only a 7.0 on the moment magnitude scale. So why was there such severe damage in
Haiti? The damage was especially severe because of the tectonic setting and energy levels, and
because of Haiti s poor economic state. In this essay, we will explore each factor of damage in depth
then see how they connect in order to fully understand why this damage occurred. The first damage
factor we will delve into is the tectonic setting and energy levels of Haiti. In my drawing, you can see
that the Caribbean plate (where Haiti is located) is in the middle of four larger tectonic plates (North
American plate, Nazca plate, Cocos plate and the South American plate). Haiti is located in the
northeast of the Caribbean plate on the border of the North American plate. This is a transform
boundary and it also has two major strike slip faults. The North American plate is moving westward at
a rate of 2.3 cm per year and the Caribbean plate is moving eastward at less than one centimeter per
year. This movement causes pressure to build up forming fault lines. There are ... Show more content

The Idea Of Chipotle Company
I. Overview
The idea of Chipotle started with its founder, chairman and co CEO, Steve Ells. His idea was to offer
higher quality food, combined with the speed and convenience of fast food, giving birth to a new
trend: fast casual . Chipotle offers a focused menu of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls (a burrito without
the tortilla) and salads made from fresh, high quality raw ingredients, prepared using classic cooking
methods and served in a distinctive atmosphere.
Chipotle opened with a single restaurant in 1993, in 1998 McDonald s made an investment that
allowed Chipotle to grow from 14 stores to about 500 stores in 7 years. McDonalds was a major
contributor to Chipotle s success, notwithstanding McDonalds decision to divest its stake in 2006,
Chipotle has been able to maintain a robust growth ever since and became a huge success. Today
Chipotle operates more than 2,000 restaurants, including 26 Chipotle restaurants outside the US and
14 ShopHouse Southeast Asian Kitchen restaurants, and is an investor in an entity that owns and
operates four Pizzeria Locale restaurants.
One of the success drivers of Chipotle is their emphasis on simplicity and high quality through their
vision of Food with Integrity, where they claim to use the best ingredients that are sustainably grown
and raised responsibly. Coupled with the overall social trend of more conscious food consumers
seeking for healthier options, Chipotle s offering seems like the perfect formula for growth.

Public Budget Deficit Has Generated Pressures On Domestic...
This chronic and growing public budget deficit has generated pressures on domestic savings and
increased the share of domestic savings that directed to cover the growing public deficit at the expense
of investment spending share. Ratios of public budget deficit to demand for domestic savings
fluctuated around upward sloping trend. This ratio recorded 40%, in average, with standard deviation
14.5% during the considered period. Panel (a) in figure (3) shows that despite ratio of investment
spending to demand for domestic savings recorded 84%, in average, with standard deviation 10.3%;
however, these ratios fluctuated around a relatively horizontal trend during the considered period.
Accordingly, it can be said that public budget deficit works as a constraint to investment spending.
Panel (b) may confirm this suggestion, as it shows that investment spending, as a percent of GDP, is
following a downward sloping trend especially after 2008, where ratios of public budget deficit to
demand for domestic savings started to follow an upward sloping trend. In other words, it can be said
that public spending competes with investment spending for domestic savings, a familiar problem
known as crowding out. Under such a circumstance, financing domestic investment is at the mercy of
foreign indirect capital flows which depend on the efficiency of financial markets and political status
and relations of the country. This goes in line with the finding of O.Helmy and C.Zaki (2015), as they

Hernan Cortes Dbq
The Hidden Villain Of The 16th Century Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador which meant that
he went out to conquer land with his army. He and his army were thirsty for gold, taking other people
s treasure to make it into theirs an example of that were the Aztecs. The Aztecs were people who had

How Hercules Changed Over Time Essay
Hercules has adapted over time because the original myth of Hercules is so complicated that for
people to comprehend it, the story of Hercules needed to be simplified. There many changes to help
people understand the story of Hercules, but there are three main topics that have been changed to
help the younger and older audiences. These three main topics that support that Hercules original story
is too complicated is, the story of his immortality, the antagonist Hades, and the happily ever after.

Yes, actually a happy ending is portrayed in both the original myth and movie, but are very different.
In the original myth Hercules died as a result of a poison, and after having burned in the funeral pyre,
he obtained immortality (Greek Mythology). He may have died, but if he did not die he would not
have become an immortal. After becoming an immortal Hercules married a women named Hebe.
Hebe was actually the daughter of Hera, the women who tried to kill Hercules. Along with getting
married he had a child in Olympus where he started to live the life of an immortal. Though he did end
with becoming immortal and getting married this is probably not the ideal ending for Disney, because
instead Disney only used half of the original myth and even changed some of that. When I say they
used half of the myth I am referring to how Hercules ended up falling in love with Meg and lived
happily, but it was with actually with Hebe. The other half of the ending is when Hercules chose to be
with Meg instead of staying immortal, because due to his decision he became a mortal. When
Hercules decided to be a mortal he also chose love. I think that with including that Hercules chose
love over eternal life he gives a good message for everyone. My guess is that Disney decided that
having the message that when you lose one thing something another thing good will happen, for
instance how Hercules was a mortal, but he also got love which was his main

The Bank of England and The 2008 Financial Crisis Essay
Due to the 2008 financial crisis, the Bank of England employed quantitative easing (an
unconventional monetary policy used to stimulate the economy) by cutting interest rates down to 0.5

in money supply through showing the rightward shift of the MS curve, from MS1 to MS2. The money
demand will remain the same (MD). Therefore, increasing the money supply will lower the interest
rate from i1 to i2. This is partly due to the increased availability of money. More money around means
it is easier to acquire and thus command lower interest rates. However, such an increase in money
supply may also increase the inflation rate and possibly cause a hyperinflation if uncontrolled.
The main benefit of low interest rates is its stimulating effect on economy. The BoE can help start
businesses spending on goods which helps the economy in the long run and can help consumers to
spend more on durable goods. Also the consumers demand for products will increase. This will force
the firms to try to meet the demands by hiring additional workers which in turn will reduce the
unemployment rate.
A disadvantage of low interest rates is low interest rates harm savers and those who rely heavily on
interest income in the long run. Workers are influenced by lowered interest rates because the firms that
benefited from the changes in rates will hire more workers while the opposite will be true for the
negatively affected firms. Stockholders are affected because when interest rates rise, stocks tend to
fall. Suppliers

Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin Essay
Sonny s Blues by James Baldwin
A captivating tale of a relationship between two troubling brothers in Harlem, Sonny s Blues is told
from the perception of Sonny s brother, whose name is never mentioned. Baldwin s choice of Sonny s
brother as a narrator is what makes Sonny s Blues significant in terms of illustrating the relationship
and emotional complications of Sonny and his brother. The significance of Sonny s Blues lies in the
way Sonny s brother describes their relationship based on what he observes, hears, and feels, and how
he struggles trying to understand Sonny through the course of the story. This is a story of how two
African Americans brothers take their own path through life as they struggle to find meaning in their

The author used the title of the story Sonny s Blues, to give the readers the hint about the theme of the
story. The noun blues is defined as a mood of unhappiness and depression. This theme is present
throughout the story. Blues is a style of music that expresses a sad mood. It is synonymous with low
spirits and depressed emotions. The blues, both as a state of being and as music, is basic to the
structure of the story, and both the narrator and his brother Sonny have had their share of low spirits.
The opposing lives of the two brothers contribute to the theme of being safe and while being risk
takers. In this story, Baldwin writes about two brothers who grew up together. As each of the boys
grew older, they fell apart from one another and lived two completely different lives. The narrator,
who is the older brother, seemed to be more conservative and more determined to develop a good
future. Sonny, the younger brother, was more free willed and adventurous as he lived in the moment.
Sonny did not even know what his plans were for the next hour, much less for the rest of his life. The
narrator s major source of discontent has been his selfish desire to learn and lead a respectable, safe
life as a high school algebra teacher. When he learns of

Comparison Of Kangaroo Rats
Kangaroo Rats are small furry creatures that actually and surprisingly have a lot in common with the
very famous kangaroo. They don t live in the same environment though. They are one of many
creatures in their climate, but they are one of the smallest too.
Kangaroo Rats have a variety of environments they can live in. These environments are very similar
though. All have very dry climates, such as the desert scrub, open grasslands, and sandy soils. They
live in small holes and burrows that they dig in the dry sandy ground. They re in the mammalia class.
This means that they re furry and are warm blooded. They look like small tan colored mice.
These rats reproduce sexually with another mate. The females can have up to 3 liters of 1 6 young ...

These amazing rats only get better. They have pouches just like kangaroos but not for holding their
young. They have pouches on their cheek area to hold food. Including all of the seeds they eat to

These awesome rats also have the legs of a kangaroo. They can jump 9 feet in one jump. They jump
this high to avoid predators. I would love to be able to jump that high when I see a rattler. Kangaroo
rats, like many desert creatures, are nocturnal. This gives them a higher risk of getting eaten by the
many other nocturnal predators. But with their many adaptations, the night is best to scavenge for food
so that they can stay cool when out and about. Because of the need for constant cool body
temperature, they plug the entrance of their burrow with soil during the day to maintain a normal body
temperature. This behavior helps with Homeostasis. Kangaroo rats are often seen in groups or
colonies in the desert wasteland. But there is no social order of any sorts, they keep to themselves
unless in mating season. Their burrows are spaced out from each other at certain distance depending
on the abundance of food in the

Douglas Rushkoff s Time Ain T Money
What is Money and Time? Time Ain t Money by Douglas Rushkoff is a manifesto regarding the
infinitely changing business world. In the manifesto, Rushkoff describes presentism which focuses on
the present more so than the past and even the future in relation to money and time. Rushkoff is trying
to enlighten us of the changes to the way we do business and how consumers want business to be
done. Throughout the manifesto, we get a sense of Rushkoff s opinion on our money system and how
times have changed. Getting a sense on his opinion, how has Rushkoff changed his audience s
perspective on time and money? The intended audience for this manifesto is mainly CEO s and
businessmen alike. Throughout the text, Rushkoff keeps refereeing to presentism. ... Show more

Why would did Rushkoff put this section where he did? I think this decision was important because it
focuses on how our currency system works and how it was originated. This section of the text really
changes how money should be perceived and how we as a society has changed. Rushkoff evaluates
the origin of our currency and basically says it s out of date. As our economy has shifted to
increasingly more digital networks, our currency has been devalued. Rushkoff says, the money we use
today central, bank issued currency is an artifact of the late middle ages (116). While this system of
currency has worked well, we need to shift to our digital stage in order to continue functioning. The
time based rules of money work quite well in an expansionist Industrial Age, (as long as we ignore the
impact on crafts people, local economies, and, of course slave populations), but they no longer seem
to function properly in a digital economy (117). Rushkoff says that because as times change, and we
switch to almost all digital transactions, our value and use of real currency also needs to change. You
can t have something lagging behind the other in society, it doesn t work that way. And Rushkoff
wants his audience to know that. He wants these big CEO s to be warry of perhaps a major shift in the
use of currency. He wants them to know because large business corporations are what keep society

Penny Lab Essay
In this lab we will be heating up substances and use them to galvanize pennies. When you heat up the
zinc, and then coat the penny in it, it then galvanizes the penny. Meaning, it helps protect the penny
from oxygen and water. Afterwards, you will need to record data such as the mass of the penny. This
helps keep track of what physical traits are being changed during this experiment. On part B of this
experiment, you will be heating up the now galvanized pennies in order to see what reaction you get.
The reaction you should receive from heating up the now zinc covered pennies is that the pennies will
change color.
In metallic bonding, the reason it is so good at conducting heat and electricity, is the electrons are
loosely held in the atom. Also, the structural pattern of metals is hexagonal close packing (Francis, E .

that. The idea of the electrons being able to move, delocalized electrons, helps produce its

Mechanisms By Which Obesity Affect Ovarian Function
Mechanisms by which obesity impair ovarian functions
Both animal and clinical studies have demonstrated that obesity leads to ovarian dysfunction through
oxidative and ER stress and inflammation (26,65,66,74 78). Obesity leads to excess lipids, glucose,
insulin, and leptin in variety of ovarian cells including: granulosa cells, cumulus cells, oocytes, and
early embryos (ref more;(65,79,80)). Because leptin contributes to follicular growth, steroidogenesis,
oocyte maturation and embryo development, hyperleptinemia seen in obese women may disrupt these
processes (30,58,70,75,78,81 96). Similarly, insulin resistance and or hyperinsulinemia, have been
shown to alter ovarian morphology, ovarian insulin signaling, ovulation and maturation of oocytes
(23,30,36,39,40,71,73,74,97 107). Obesity leads to elevated levels of circulating lipids as well as lipid
accumulation in the ovary which are associated with decreased granulosa cell numbers, increased
apoptosis, greater lipid accumulation in cumulus cells, decreased oocyte nuclear maturation, and
changes in substrate metabolism and proliferation in embryos (18,36,55,63,65,67,75,79,90,92,108
112). Greater oxidative stress and chronic low grade inflammation, as seen in obese animals and
humans, have also been shown to alter oocyte maturation and fertilization, embryo development and
pregnancy success (19,26,65,66,68,69,74,77,78,104,105,109,110,113 120). Lastly, obesity leads to a

A Young Man s Folly Short Summary
Sadly, not all marriages have good endings. This could be caused by several reasons, such as falling
out of love, neglect, or lack of communication. The latter is the main cause of the short story A Young
Man s Folly by Susan Michalicka. The story revolves around a modern family, where a boy tries to
deal with the loss of his father leaving him. Michalicka conveys the message of: Sometimes when you
re chasing something, you lose sight of what is really important very well through the use of conflict,
characterization and symbolism.
Conflict was used effectively in the short story to reveal the theme of the story. The boy has an
internal conflict about which parent to stay with, and because his father left, he seemed to have
favored him. He wanted him back so badly that every night, he watches him on the six o clock news
while wearing his old jackets. He was blinded by his father s sudden departure that he forgot about
what is really important. Additionally, another development in the short story s conflict has been used
effectively to reveal the theme. When the boy went to Macdonald s to see his father s true colors, he
thought: I finished my drink quickly, thankful that he had to be back in the studio for the news. By the
time he saw his dad for the first time in a while, he knew he was not the man he thought he was. At
that moment, he also realized that he lost sight of what he had all this time: His mother s unconditional
love. If it wasn t for the characterization of

At the beginning of the play the murderer, who happens to be the narrator, tells how he went about
murdering a man with an evil vulture eye. He insists that he was really only destroying the eye, that he
only killed the man to rid himself of the dreaded gaping eyeball that had been haunting him. So, the
way that I see it is that the narrator is trying to convince himself that he was brave enough to finally
rid himself of the haunting eye that he may have been genuinely afraid of. What is the first thing that
comes to your mind when you hear the word brave? Do you think about a superhero, or maybe a
soldier that fights for our country? Bravery is the ability to face danger, fear or pain. Bravery is the
quality of a person who displays courage and fearlessness in the face of danger. Such qualities show
splendor and magnificence in a person. Fear and terror sometimes hinder the determination someone
can show. Overcoming this fear is what portrays bravery. The boldest of individuals is the one who
abides by his or her conscience. In Night the main character Ellie Weisel whom is also the author went

Nathaniel Hawthorne s Influence On American Literature...
Nathaniel Hawthorne was one of the most important authors in the history of American literature and
the genre of Romanticism or Dark Romanticism, due to his unique style of writing and his focus upon
subjects of Puritan religion and the unknown. I consider Hawthorne an important author, due to the
fact that he skillfully and accurately based his fictional writings upon happenings of colonial times,
was one of the first authors to display unfortunate outcomes for his characters immoral choices
according to Puritan beliefs, and wrote of things that were considered taboo in his time, such as
witchcraft, scientific innovation and experimentation. I strongly believe that Hawthorne s influence
for his writings were his Puritan ancestral background, his fascination with Puritan beliefs, and his
interest in what was considered the unknown such as witchcraft and science. According to the Norton
Anthology Textbook Vol. B, Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in Salem, Massachusetts in 1804 (370).
Hawthorne belonged to a family whose ancestral roots were tied to Puritan history, with his family
being among the first settlers of Massachusetts and having one of his relatives serve as a judge during
the Salem witch trials (370). Hawthorne, as a young boy, had a particular interest in writings such as
John Bunyan s Puritan allegory The Pilgrim s Progress, and by his mid teens he took interest in British
novelists such as Henry Fielding, Tobias Smollet, William Godwin, and Sir Walter Scott

Stationary Monitoring Traffic On Main Street Essay
On 06/29/2015 I was stationary monitoring traffic on Main Street (SR 924). At approximately 2135
hours I observed a green Ford Ranger pick up truck travelling southbound. The vehicle was travelling
at forty (40) miles per hour in a clearly and properly posted twenty five (25) mile per hour zone. I

I exited the patrol vehicle and approached the driver who was observed reaching toward the door

down. I asked if he had anything in the vehicle where he was reaching and he stated he did not and
told me to check the vehicle. The males hands were shaken vigorously and his face was sweaty.
I requested the operator s license, registration and insurance card. The operator supplied me with the

A microbiome is a community of microorganism that exist in a certain environment. Looking at gut

in internal microbiome composition, we do not have the evidence to support this fully. Thus using non

and closing, as well as greeting the guests are some of the many administrative options. This is a great
way to get involved in the Chicago community as well as a good reference for those interested in
recommendations for art schools. Workshops are provided for young adults interested in digging
further into the art trade. These workshops focus on learning about and exploring art and its culture.
General admission for these Workshops, are eighteen dollars, and for students is twelve dollars.
The German architect who designed the building made its structure so large that in scale alone
warrants attention. The previous building had been built as a bakery and for a time had served as the
corporate offices of Playboy Enterprises, but in 1967 was rebuilt ( History of the MCA ). The museum
planned to move its location in 1990, for economical times were rough (Plagens, Newsweek ).
However, the completion of projects and variety of art beginning in the rough years contributed to the

Effective Use of Technology by Terrorists Essay
The magnitude of terrorist activity in today s world is in large part due to the technological tools
available to everyone. Even though you may not believe so, by doing these acts of terrorism, it can
cause the market to change or even have a more clear effect on your life like the death of a loved one,
or one of your loved ones being injured. With all of that being said, there is one important thing that
helps them accomplish these goals. That one important thing is technology. Technology all around the
world is used for good and helps us accomplish tasks we could not do without technology. But there is
also the downside to technology. The downside is that it can also be used for bad and that is in which
intent the terrorist use it for. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When it comes to technology, it is a two way street. Just as they can hack into us, we are able to hack
right back into them. While they may use it to their advantages, we are able to view into everything
they do as well. We are able to see what their plans are because they leave themselves just as
vulnerable as we do. These little opening that we are able to find may lead to the prevention of attacks
and it may lead to possible finding of where they are located at. The criminal underground is highly
innovative and often acts as an early adopter of emerging technologies. This has been proven time and
time again. With things like weapons, we ve seen terrorist adapt almost instantly. They are ready for
just about everything and the new technology we a producing is no exception. With all the advances
with robots, artificial intelligence, and biotechnology, the terrorists take all these advances to their
own advantage. Technology has made our world increasingly open and has had mostly huge benefits
for our society. But having this openness can lead to more than just advancements. For example, in
2008 there was a group of terrorist who attacked Mumbai, India. The perpetrators were armed with Ak
47s, explosives and hand grenades. Although you may think that the weaponry is the center of
amazement but, it is not. What was most surprising about this attack is how they used modern

Customer Marketing Essay
You re getting quality traffic to your ecommerce store.
Now what?
As a small business owner, you re tasked with turning those visitors into customers. It s up to you to
woo consumers into purchasing your latest items.
While it may sound difficult, don t panic. Matt Ackerson, founder of AutoGrow, offers sage advice:
Once you understand that traffic is just like energy or water and you just need to create pathways to
direct it where you want it to go, the rest is easy. Don t make the mistake of over complicating it
though. So many business people think success has to be complicated when it doesn t.
Let s make the process simple for you and the consumer. Here are five ways to convert your traffic
into customers:
1. Write Creative ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
2. Create a Sense of Urgency
With a jam packed schedule of work assignments and family responsibilities, it s easy for your
consumers to delay buying products at this very moment. That s why it s up to your team to nudge
them to the checkout cart sooner than later.
Creating a sense of urgency isn t about bringing your customer into a state of panic. Instead, you want
to help them make a quicker decision about products they already want.
Urgency can be blocked by your customers minds if you don t give them specific instructions on how
to solve the problem. Rather than giving vague instructions, tell people exactly what to do when the
time comes and don t be afraid to drive them toward specific actions, says Gregory Ciotti, former
senior content marketing manager at Help Scout.
A few urgency tactics include adding a countdown clock on your sales page, showing the number of
items in stock, and offering discounts on abandoned cart items.
You also may want to highlight product demand. For instance, you can show many people have
already purchased a particular item using FOMO as a marketing strategy.
A small dose of urgency is helpful to getting your customers across the purchasing threshold. Product
value mixed with persistence means more sales for your business.
3. Offer Top Notch Customer Support
Research shows that on average happy customers tell nine people about their experiences with a
company. If you re delivering superb customer support, that s an

As the mathematical concepts intensified, I was able to adequately keep up and enjoy the journey along the way. While signing up for my senior year classes, the decision to take calculus was made easily. While speaking with the instructor, Yvonne Sebastian, I discovered that her love for math was derived from similar feelings. In an interview with Sebastian, she stated, Math is a beautiful thing. Panel (a) in figure (3) shows that despite ratio of investment spending to demand for domestic savings recorded 84%, in average, with standard deviation 10.3%; however, these ratios fluctuated around a relatively horizontal trend during the considered period. In other words, it can be said that public spending competes with investment spending for domestic savings, a familiar problem known as crowding out. Hebe was actually the daughter of Hera, the women who tried to kill Hercules. Along with getting married he had a child in Olympus where he started to live the life of an immortal. Though he did end with becoming immortal and getting married this is probably not the ideal ending for Disney, because instead Disney only used half of the original myth and even changed some of that. The Bank made the decision to keep QE and the interest rate unchanged in March. Spare capacity (the ability of a firm to produce more of a product than is now being produced) is used by the BoE to justify its use of forward guidance policy (a communicative tool for monetary policy). The money supply will increase as the components of AD (C+I) rise. Figure 2 illustrates the increase in money supply through showing the rightward shift of the MS curve, from MS1 to MS2. The money demand will remain the same (MD). Therefore, increasing the money supply will lower the interest rate from i1 to i2. This is partly due to the increased availability of money. More money around means it is easier to acquire and thus command lower interest rates. However, such an increase in money supply may also increase the inflation rate and possibly cause a hyperinflation if uncontrolled. The main benefit of low interest rates is its stimulating effect on economy. I think this decision was important because it focuses on how our currency system works and how it was originated. This section of the text really changes how money should be perceived and how we as a society has changed. Rushkoff evaluates the origin of our currency and basically says it s out of date. As our economy has shifted to increasingly more digital networks, our currency has been devalued. Rushkoff says, the money we use today central, bank issued currency is an artifact of the late middle ages (116). While this system of currency has worked well, we need to shift to our digital stage in order to continue functioning. The time based rules of money work quite well in an expansionist Industrial Age, (as long as we ignore the impact on crafts people, local economies, and, of course slave populations), but they no longer seem to function properly in a digital economy (117). Rushkoff says that because as times change, and we switch to almost all digital transactions, our value and use of real currency also needs to change. You can t have something lagging behind the other in society, it doesn t work that way. And Rushkoff wants his audience to know that. Meaning, it helps protect the penny from oxygen and water. Afterwards, you will need to record data such as the mass of the penny. This helps keep track of what physical traits are being changed during this experiment. On part B of this experiment, you will be heating up the now galvanized pennies in order to see what reaction you get. The reaction you should receive from heating up the now zinc covered pennies is that the pennies will change color. In metallic bonding, the reason it is so good at conducting heat and electricity, is the electrons are loosely held in the atom. Also, the structural pattern of metals is hexagonal close packing (Francis, E . . .). Metallic bonds are when the electrons are shared and are able to move and how C models show that. The idea of the electrons being able to move, delocalized electrons, helps produce its characteristics like conductivity and malleability, etc. (Anderson . . .). Mechanisms By Which Obesity Affect Ovarian Function Mechanisms by which obesity impair ovarian functions Both animal and clinical studies have demonstrated that obesity leads to ovarian dysfunction through oxidative and ER stress and inflammation (26,65,66,74 78). Obesity leads to excess lipids, glucose, insulin, and leptin in variety of ovarian cells including: granulosa cells, cumulus cells, oocytes, and early embryos (ref more;(65,79,80)). Because leptin contributes to follicular growth, steroidogenesis, oocyte maturation and embryo development, hyperleptinemia seen in obese women may disrupt these processes (30,58,70,75,78,81 96). Similarly, insulin resistance and or hyperinsulinemia, have been shown to alter ovarian morphology, ovarian insulin signaling, ovulation and maturation of oocytes (23,30,36,39,40,71,73,74,97 107). Obesity leads to elevated levels of circulating lipids as well as lipid accumulation in the ovary which are associated with decreased granulosa cell numbers, increased apoptosis, greater lipid accumulation in cumulus cells, decreased oocyte nuclear maturation, and changes in substrate metabolism and proliferation in embryos (18,36,55,63,65,67,75,79,90,92,108 112). Greater oxidative stress and chronic low grade inflammation, as seen in obese animals and humans, have also been shown to alter oocyte maturation and fertilization, embryo development and pregnancy success (19,26,65,66,68,69,74,77,78,104,105,109,110,113 120). • 28. A Young Man s Folly Short Summary Sadly, not all marriages have good endings. This could be caused by several reasons, such as falling out of love, neglect, or lack of communication. The latter is the main cause of the short story A Young Man s Folly by Susan Michalicka. The story revolves around a modern family, where a boy tries to deal with the loss of his father leaving him. Michalicka conveys the message of: Sometimes when you re chasing something, you lose sight of what is really important very well through the use of conflict, characterization and symbolism. Conflict was used effectively in the short story to reveal the theme of the story. The boy has an internal conflict about which parent to stay with, and because his father left, he seemed to have favored him. He wanted him back so badly that every night, he watches him on the six o clock news while wearing his old jackets. He was blinded by his father s sudden departure that he forgot about what is really important. Additionally, another development in the short story s conflict has been used effectively to reveal the theme. When the boy went to Macdonald s to see his father s true colors, he thought: I finished my drink quickly, thankful that he had to be back in the studio for the news. By the time he saw his dad for the first time in a while, he knew he was not the man he thought he was. At that moment, he also realized that he lost sight of what he had all this time: His mother s unconditional love. If it wasn t for the characterization of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 34. Nathaniel Hawthorne s Influence On American Literature... Nathaniel Hawthorne was one of the most important authors in the history of American literature and the genre of Romanticism or Dark Romanticism, due to his unique style of writing and his focus upon subjects of Puritan religion and the unknown. I consider Hawthorne an important author, due to the fact that he skillfully and accurately based his fictional writings upon happenings of colonial times, was one of the first authors to display unfortunate outcomes for his characters immoral choices according to Puritan beliefs, and wrote of things that were considered taboo in his time, such as witchcraft, scientific innovation and experimentation. I strongly believe that Hawthorne s influence for his writings were his Puritan ancestral background, his fascination with Puritan beliefs, and his interest in what was considered the unknown such as witchcraft and science. According to the Norton Anthology Textbook Vol. B, Nathaniel Hawthorne was born in Salem, Massachusetts in 1804 (370). Hawthorne belonged to a family whose ancestral roots were tied to Puritan history, with his family being among the first settlers of Massachusetts and having one of his relatives serve as a judge during the Salem witch trials (370).
