Instructional design is both a process (macro) and a strategy (micro). Micro instructional design models should provide a formula for designing user experience, engagement and interaction that supports learning. Join this online session to explore David Merrill’s Pebble in the Pond (PiP) instructional design model for problem-based learning and consider how it can also be applied to game-based learning design.

In learning and development there is often talk about the need to be more strategically focused. ELearning holds the promise of being flexible, faster and more effective than face to face learning. Without a strategic, quality-focused approach, however, employees are left dis-engaged, learning effectiveness is reduced and quality issues ensue.
It doesn’t have to be like this.
This interactive webinar will explore:
- what a strategic approach to eLearning looks like
- how digital learning technologies can be used to embed 70:20:10 blended learning approaches
- the stages of developing an eLearning strategy
- the different approaches that are required when getting starting with eLearning compared to when growing and expanding
some guidelines about when in-house development works and when you should outsource development

10. Teachers Need to Keep up with the New Shift Principal Ottenbreit discusses the importance of professional development
12. The more a teacher develops his/her skills the more effective the student learning. As a teacher becomes more comfortable and professional, the education that is being applies also becomes more successful. The teachers that embrace the technology and cultivate their skills in order to incorporate the students' needs into a interesting way. The more comfortable and developed a teacher is the more the student will succeed. Professional development keeps teachers alert as to the advances in both their fields and in general teaching techniques. It allows them to be much more effective with students constantly changing needs because of the new learned knowledge. In addition its an easy way for a teacher to stay informed and can often re-inspire the teacher who then can continue to inspire their students. Professional development is important to teacher effectiveness because a teacher should not stop learning once they leave college with their degree. The world is not stagnant, it is always changing. There are new developments to all aspects of education all the time, and it's not limited to the subject matter a teacher is primarily responsible for. There are new learning methods that have yet to be discovered that could benefit generations of students, but if teachers fail to take advantage of opportunities such as these, then their students will ultimately pay the price.
