We will workwithpastexpressions.Studentswillhave toplace the pastexpressionsinatime line tohave an
ideaof how theyare placedintime. I will use aposterwiththe time line andthe cards withthe past
expressionsprinted.
T: Here youhave on the board some expressionsfromthe past,theyall tell usaboutsomethingwe didinthe
past andwhenwe didit. Now,listen!Here youhave atime line.Fromone side youhave NOW,thatis the time
we are livingtoday,andfromthe otherside youhave the PAST,or thingsyoudidsome time ago…
Helpme to place theminthe time line fromthe mostrecenttothe farestin time.Iwant a volunteertocome
to the board and place the firstexpression.Don´tworryif we make a mistake,we will correctitafterwe finish

For thisactivityIwill have three posterswiththe picturesof the actionsIwill use toteachthe positionof the
past simple.
I will use some sentencesaboutteens`real livesforexample:Afewyears ago I wasa kid, Iwentto the disco
last Saturday.
T: Ok, teens,look! Here youhave three postersof thingsyoudidinthe past.Let´s read….

pointingtothe beginningorendingof the sentence)

Development60´ Purpose:this activity isaimed at fosteringcontextualizedpractice of the teachingpoints
Activity 1: 30’: I will askstudentstomake a circle toplaya game.Thisgame will be some kindof interview
usingthe time expressionsstudiedinthe warm up activity.
I will use mydearfruitand colourdice fromkindergarten,mysecretbox fromprimarylevelforthe secondary
level again.Iwill write all the sentencesinpapersandputtheminside the secretbox.
I will play some musicand while the musicisontheywill passthe box.Whenthe musicstops studentstake
out a slipof paperfrom the box and show itto me andI will interview him/her.Whenwasthe lasttime you…
At thispart of the lessonitwill be importantthe intonationthatIwill give tothe mainverbinthe simple past.
T: Please,make acircle.Here I have my secretbox,while the musicplaysyouwill passthe box toyour mate.
Whenthe musicstops the one withthe box will have totake out a slipof paperfrom inside the box andshow
it to me and I will askyouaboutthat paperand youwill have toanswerusingan expressionfromthe past.For
