During this lesson, learners will be able to…
 Identify and name and use different family members.
 Incorporate and practise their previous knowledge of numbers.
 Develop their reading and writing skills by completing different
activities.
Teaching points: - language focus:
 Teaching approach: This lesson plan is based on the PPP approach.
 Materials and resources: A copy for each student with the reference to
Activity 1 and an empty timetable to the Closure Stage. Students have from a
previous class the time table of Warm-Up Stage and also the empty timetable
for Activity 1.
 Pedagogical use of ICT in class: No instances of ICT in this lesson.
 Seating arrangement: Students will be sitting on their desks since I
believe it´s the best way to see and participate of the class. Also, they will have
visual contact and interaction.
 Cooperative work: learners of this age can interact and work together in
order to perform activities.
 Possible problems / difficulties and their possible solutions during
the class: Children may get too excited during the class because they are very
participative students and sometimes they overflow. In that case, I’ll remind
them we should be careful with the resources used and be able to perform all
the activities. In order to get them quiet: I´ll name them or say Silence, please!
 Potential problems students may have with the language: They may
not understand the slogans, I’ll guide them by showing the different activities.

WARM UP (10 minutes)
Purpose: to introduce the topic and evaluate students´ understanding.
- Good afternoon kids! How are you? We will start the lesson OK? Today is
September 14th. Look here, these people are part of a family. A father, a
mother, a sister, a brother.
(I will be showing and pasting different images to make a family tree, also I
will write each family member word: Mother, Father, Brother... On first
place I will show Father, Mother, Brother and Sister names and I will
encourage students to repeat and practice the pronunciation of the words.
Then I will incorporate the other family members)
- Very good kids, I like your pronunciation! Now pay attention, we have a
grandfather and grandmother. And also we have an aunt, an uncle and a
cousin. We can have a niece or a nephew too.
(Then I will present my family, always exemplifying with images, the aim of
this is to review HAVE GOT structure adding the FAMILY vocabulary)
- This is my family kids; I have a father and a mother. I have one brother
and two sisters. Also I have a beautiful niece, she´s only 1 year.
I have an aunt and an uncle, and two cousins.
Now that you know the family members, let´s practise.
DEVELOPMENT (15 minutes)
Activity 1 (15 minutes)
Purpose: to students identify and practise previous vocabulary.
- I think this activity would like to you, let´s see. You will make a family
wordsearch. You have to look for the names of family members, mother,
father, brother.... OK?
( I will give students a copy for each of the wordsearch, this activity will help
them to identify and recognize the vocabulary)

CLOSURE (15 minutes)
Purpose: to students identify and practise the topic vocabulary.
