STELLAR MARKETING & EVENT AGENCY, Ottawa, ON 2007-Present
Director and Owner
• Responsible for all aspects of growth and business management for the consistent development and
profitability of the company, in addition to all strategic marketing and public relations to increase awareness
of Stellar agency.
• Project management and event planning: creating meaningful events that reflect each unique client and
product including budget breakdowns, timeline schedules, menu selections and decor. Managed event
teams of up to 40 people.
• Corporate & not-for-profit sectors: trade shows, awards, fashion shows, customer and employee
appreciation and fundraising events
• Enhance offering with each project to offer public relations component (media relations and social media).
• Write press releases, spokesperson for radio and TV and manage the media day-of to ensure coverage.
• Provide creative writing and editing on all marketing materials to encourage a consistent voice.
• Manage Stellar branding and social media materials to attract and maintain client relationships.
• Created "Ottawa Halloween Ball" for 200 people in partnership with another agency to increase awareness
for the agencies. Selected the cause - The Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa. Wrote and distributed its news
release and proactive media pitches to promote the event.
• Act as a spokesperson on CTV Morning Live Ottawa and Daytime Ottawa.
• Create a social media campaign: YouTube, Facebook, video newsletter through Talk Fusion,
Twitter and Instagram.
Awards: Young Business Person of the Year
Orleans Chamber of Commerce – 2010 TD Canada Trust People’s Choice
• In recognition of a young business person under the age of 30 with a minimum of one year in
business and who demonstrates excellent leadership and management skills that drive success for
their business. Awarded to one out of a total of 10 eligible nominees, based on voting from past
clients, suppliers and members of the business community.
Client Highlights:
Place D’Orleans Mall: VIP Ladies Night – Attendance: 150 (sold out)
Strategy: Revamped direction of event based on demographics and desired objectives outlined by the
client. Pitched a new event which included an extensive social media campaign and fashion show to
highlight fall fashion trends showcasing pieces from stores within the mall.
Results: The new concept was pitched and executed within two weeks and was sold out with three times
the number of people than originally expected. There was a strong social media presence leading up to and
on the day of the event including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram as well as a fashion show
featuring various women and fashion bloggers as the models.

The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre: Fundraising Gala – Attendance: 320
Project included: Coordinated media and incorporated social media outlets to promote the event to local
business professionals.
Results: Stellar’s involvement increased attendance and amounts raised.
The Orleans Chamber of Commerce: TD Canada Trust, Business Excellence Awards – Attendance: 200
Project included: Managed media relations, social media and writing all of the promotional materials.
Assisted in the creation of a newsletter that targeted past and present members.
Results: Event was sold out with increased sponsorship due to Stellar’s strategy to target the business
community.
National Capital Fit Day: Corporate Retailer Client Trade Show – Attendance: 3,000
Strategy: Increased the awareness of fitness in the Ottawa region by creating a strategy to include a
celebrity guest: Mario Lopez. Planned and executed day-of media interviews (radio, TV and print); wrote
news releases and media pitches. Developed and executed all social media including Facebook, Twitter,
Instagram and YouTube to promote the event leading up to and following the event.
Result: Outstanding coverage and attendance.
I Am Possible: Mother/Daughter Conference – Attendance: 50
Project included: Managed the various speakers; wrote, promoted and distributed news releases.
Coordinated with Katherine Dines from Majic 100 to promote the event on her radio show. Recruited
speakers: Michelle Valberg and Kathy Smart. Acted as the spokesperson; achieved CTV coverage.
Result: Attendance and media coverage exceeded board’s expectations.
MELAINE COMMUNICATIONS GROUP, Toronto, ON 2004 – 2007
Account Executive
• Managed destination clients (State of Texas, State of North Carolina, St. Maarten (the Dutch side of the
island), Maxxim Vacations, Contiki Tours and Travel South USA) to develop communications campaigns
to create awareness and increase travel to the various locations.
• Responsible for PR campaigns including: creation, writing marketing materials, news releases, proactive
pitches to media sources, event planning, media familiarization trips and promotions.
Highlights:
• Successfully coordinated media campaigns and promotions for clients with the following media outlets:
Tribute and En Primeur, National Post, Transcontinental Media, Chatelaine and CMT.
• Coordinated a fashion editorial photo shoot in St. Maarten for Chatelaine.
• Senior lead for the launch of Travel South USA in Canada, which included media luncheons, media spots
on television, radio and a large trade show open to the public showcasing each of the twelve states.
• Proactive media relations resulting in coverage for clients in the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, Toronto Sun
and National Post.

Client Highlights: Place D’Orleans Mall: VIP Ladies Night – Attendance: 150 (sold out) Strategy: Revamped direction of event based on demographics and desired objectives outlined by the client. Pitched a new event which included an extensive social media campaign and fashion show to highlight fall fashion trends showcasing pieces from stores within the mall. Results: The new concept was pitched and executed within two weeks and was sold out with three times the number of people than originally expected. There was a strong social media presence leading up to and on the day of the event including Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram as well as a fashion show featuring various women and fashion bloggers as the models.
  • 2. 2 The Eastern Ottawa Resource Centre: Fundraising Gala – Attendance: 320 Project included: Coordinated media and incorporated social media outlets to promote the event to local business professionals. Results: Stellar’s involvement increased attendance and amounts raised. The Orleans Chamber of Commerce: TD Canada Trust, Business Excellence Awards – Attendance: 200 Project included: Managed media relations, social media and writing all of the promotional materials. Assisted in the creation of a newsletter that targeted past and present members. Results: Event was sold out with increased sponsorship due to Stellar’s strategy to target the business community. National Capital Fit Day: Corporate Retailer Client Trade Show – Attendance: 3,000 Strategy: Increased the awareness of fitness in the Ottawa region by creating a strategy to include a celebrity guest: Mario Lopez. Planned and executed day-of media interviews (radio, TV and print); wrote news releases and media pitches.
