For a long time, PageRank has been widely used for authority computation and has been adopted as a solid
baseline for evaluating social influence related applications. However, when measuring the authority of network
nodes, the traditional PageRank method does not take the nodes’ prior knowledge into consideration.
Also, the connection between PageRank and social influence modeling methods is not clearly established.
To that end, this article provides a focused study on understanding PageRank as well as the relationship
between PageRank and social influence analysis. Along this line, we first propose a linear social influence
model and reveal that this model generalizes the PageRank-based authority computation by introducing
some constraints. Then, we show that the authority computation by PageRank can be enhanced if exploiting
more reasonable constraints (e.g., from prior knowledge). Next, to deal with the computational challenge of
linear model with general constraints, we provide an upper bound for identifying nodes with top authorities.
Moreover, we extend the proposed linear model for better measuring the authority of the given node sets,
and we also demonstrate the way to quickly identify the top authoritative node sets. Finally, extensive experimental
evaluations on four real-world networks validate the effectiveness of the proposed linear model with
respect to different constraint settings. The results show that the methods with more reasonable constraints
can lead to better ranking and recommendation performance. Meanwhile, the upper bounds formed by
PageRank values could be used to quickly locate the nodes and node sets with the highest authorities.

related work on mining deterministic behavior rules of human
subjects in data gathered from experiments. Game-theoretic
predictions partially fail to work with this data. Equilibria also
known as game-theoretic predictions solely succeed with experienced
subjects in specific games – conditions, which are rarely
given. Contemporary experimental economics offers a number of
alternative models apart from game theory. In relevant literature,
these models are always biased by philosophical plausibility
considerations and are claimed to fit the data. An agnostic
data mining approach to the problem is introduced in this
paper – the philosophical plausibility considerations follow after
the correlations are found. No other biases are regarded apart
from determinism. The dataset of the paper “Social Learning in
Networks” by Choi et al 2012 is taken for evaluation. As a result,
we come up with new findings. As future work, the design of a
new infrastructure is discussed.

EVOLUTIONARY CENTRALITY AND MAXIMAL CLIQUES IN MOBILE SOCIAL NETWORKSijcsit
This paper introduces an evolutionary approach to enhance the process of finding central nodes in mobile networks. This can provide essential information and important applications in mobile and social networks. This evolutionary approach considers the dynamics of the network and takes into consideration the central nodes from previous time slots. We also study the applicability of maximal cliques algorithms in mobile social networks and how it can be used to find the central nodes based on the discovered maximal cliques. The experimental results are promising and show a significant enhancement in finding the central nodes.
ABSTRACT

Abstract:
A visualisation method is presented that is intended to assist evolutionary algorithm users with the parametrisation of their algorithms. The visualisation method presents the convergence and diversity properties such that different parametrisations can be easily compared, and poor performing parameter sets can be easily identified and discarded. The efficacy of the visualisation is presented using a set of benchmark optimisation problems from the literature, as well as a benchmark water distribution network design problem. Results show that it is possible to observe the different performance caused by different parametrisations. Future work discusses the potential of this visualisation within an online tool that will enable a user to discard poor parametrisations as they execute to free up resources for better ones.

The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. 2. Motivation
These days, people use social networks in their
communication every day. For example, Facebook,
Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram are widely used by
people all around the world.
However, the complexity and scale of these networks
motivates people to design various visualizations for the
exploration of data
3. What is the challenge?
Visualization of a social network using an Euler diagram
is challenged by a Treemap diagram.
The main motivation for this challenge is to evaluate the
performance, limitations and usefulness of the designed
visualizations.
4. Addressing the Problem
Euler diagram and treemap diagram were designed to
visualize a Twitter network.
Nodes were added to convey more information.
Edges were added to the Nodes - Euler diagram with
graph and a treemap diagram with graph were designed.
We varied the number of Curves, Edges, and Nodes.
These diagrams were evaluated by the participants.
Finally, the results for the evaluation of a Twitter
network visualization were demonstrated and discussed.
5. Design of the Study
Diagrams were drawn using the software Inkscape. We
considered three different sizes of curves/rectangles: small,
medium and large.
23 participants were randomly selected from the University
of Brighton for the study.
Eighteen of the participants were male, five female, and their
age varied from 20 to 29 years with 24.3 years as the mean
value for their age.
We used a software called as ``Research Vehicle’’, developed
by Andrew Blake of University of Brighton, for the
participants to answer the questions. This software recorded
both the time taken and the number of errors committed.
10. Results
23 participants using the 9 variations of treemaps along with the 9 variations of
Euler diagram visualizations are shown in the Table.
Note: M(T) is the mean value for the response time and Sd(T) is a standard deviation.
M(E) is the mean value for the error rate and Sd(E) is a standard deviation.
11. Discussion
Accuracy performance - t-test did not reveal any
significant difference between treemaps and Euler
diagrams at any of the three levels.
Response time - analysis of variance (ANOVA) did not
reveal any significant difference between treemaps and
Euler diagrams at any of the three levels.
12. Future Works
We will include interaction in the visualization in order to
popularize the visualization as a tool for social network
analysis.
The main issue of fusing graphs with treemaps and Euler
diagrams is in scalability, thus, it is necessary to address this
issue in further research.
This work can be considered as a performance evaluation for
the novel type of social network visualization based on a
combination of a treemap and a graph.
In the next study, it is planned to consider different layouts,
topological properties and aesthetic properties for evaluating
these visualizations.
