Retrograde Amnesia Essay
Retrograde Amnesia, being a common type of Amnesia, is the one most people are familiar with.
(King, 2016) Retrograde Amnesia is the loss of past memories. If someone falls and hits their head,
the damage caused by that accident could cause the person to forget that the accident even occurred.
(Pg. 234) For example, a friend once decided to try snowboarding, and did not learn how to stop
before she went to the top of the hill. She went down, picking up speed, and did not notice the small
cliff at the bottom until it was too late to turn away. She decided to fall so she would not go over the
cliff, and while she was successful at that, she unfortunately hit her head on a patch of ice as she fell.
She remained conscience, but lost not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, she could not tell you what she had just finished eating, where she was, or what year it was.
Her fall had caused Anterograde Amnesia, and she could no longer make new memories.
Her Doctors decided that the damage was extensive, and with her age, there was no chance of her
regaining her ability to create new memories. We also discovered what looked like damage caused by
a stroke, which had gone unnoticed by us. Before the fall, she had some difficulty remembering recent
events, which was most likely caused by damage from the stroke. When she fell, more damage
occurred in the same area, leaving her with Anterograde Amnesia. Both of those events damaged the
part of the brain that encodes. Without the ability to encode, she could no longer make new memories.
(King, 2016 Pg. 233,234) Where Does Memory Loss Occur?
Since memory is layered, loss can occur in many different areas. (King, 2016 Pg. 216, 217) In
Retrograde Amnesia, long term memory is what is affected. Long term memory is more permanent
than any other type of memory. It allows for lasting memories, that can sometimes be stored for life.
Long term is complex, and the brain uses many components in order to successfully create memories
in this section. When you think about that wonderful beach trip you took several years ago, that is

What many do not seem to realize is that a law enforcement agency is not a job, it is a career. One
must truly be dedicated and determined to work in the field because it is all about your love for what
you are doing.
The type of applicant in which a police department attracts all depends on who they need on their
team to balance things out. For instance, if a department is lacking in female officers they are going to
advertise and reach out to females so that more of them would gain interest in the force. The
recruitment process in general consist of three different elements; the minimum qualifications, the
recruitment effort, and the applicant s decision to apply for a position.
The minimum qualifications include various aspects. Minimum age level is one of the main
qualifications. Each department have their own set of rules and regulations but for the most part all
departments have a standard age requirement which is no younger than 21 and no older than 35.
Experts were not sure if 21 was a good age requirement because they could not tell whether one at
such a young age could handle the task and whether if they were mature enough to do the job
effectively and efficiently. It is not today in which many department put a age maximum but there are
still a few, such as the New York Police Department, they do not allow anyone over the age of 35, for

(Avolio,2010) Firewall According to (Gattine, 2013).A firewall is a hardware or software system that
deters unauthorized access to or from a network. This can be implemented in both hardware and
software, or a combination of both. Firewalls are mainly used to prevent unauthorized Internet users
from accessing private networks connected to the Internet. All data entering or leaving the intranet
pass through the firewall, which examines each packet and blocks those that do not meet the specified
security criteria. Normally, Firewalls are configured to protect against unauthenticated interactive
logins from the outside world. This helps prevent hackers from logging into machines on your
network. Sophisticated firewalls block traffic from the outside to the inside, but permit users on the
inside to communicate a little more freely with the outside. Firewalls are important since they provide
a single block point, where security and auditing can be imposed. Firewalls provide an essential
logging and auditing function; often, they provide summaries to the administrator about what
type/volume of traffic has been processed through it. This provides important benefit: Providing this
block point can serve the same purpose on your

The Pros And Cons Of Solar And Wind Energy
According to President Barack Obama, There is one issue that will define the contours of this century
more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of a changing climate. The main reason
for global warming is the increment of using fossil fuels as a key source of energy across the board, so
some developed countries have started to transform the non renewable power sources to renewable
resources. Solar and wind energy systems are two kinds of renewable source of energy. Even if solar
and wind power differ in methods of generating power, they bring similar benefits to the society and
environment.
Solar and wind energy have different processes to produce electricity. Solar energy creates electricity
by making large amounts of heat, which is conducted through electrical conductors and changed into
electrical power. In most solar systems, solar panels mounted on the roof. These panels contain
photovoltaic cells made from silicon that convert incoming sunlight into electricity instead of heat. (
Photovoltaic means electricity from light photo = light, voltaic = electricity.) The photons of the
sunlight knock the electrons from the silicon, as a result, the negatively electrons accumulate in one
side of the silicon cell to create electrical voltage. This current form photovoltaic array and flows
through PV array cables, which are terminated in one fused array combiner box. It is designed to
protect the PV cell cables, and to deliver DC (Direct Current)

To what extent can the Tet Offensive of 1968 be described as a key turning point in the Vietnam War
in the Years 1963 73? (30 marks)
The Tet Offensive could be described as a key turning point because it shook USA s confidence in
winning the war, both sides changed their tactics and also because it led to a decrease of support for
the war in the USA. However there were many other key turning points such as the Gulf of Tonkin

A turning point in the Vietnam War was the Battle of Ac Bac 1963. This is where the Vietcong won the
fight between the ARVN despite their superior fire power, and the fact that the Vietcong were
outnumbered four to one. It was a turning point because it suggested the ARVN were weak and easily
defeated, therefore more troops were needed to solve this problem.

Archetypes In The Maze Runner
I was watching The Maze Runner, seeing Thomas weave his way through the maze looking for the
exit. I thought to myself, how does exploring help us survive? Most importantly, how does the
explorer archetype fuel our human nature? The explorer archetype is shown in many films. In most of
the stories, the explorer archetype has helped the character to achieve something or help them survive.
It has come to show without this archetype, in some movies, the character would not be able to
survive or achieve the ultimate goal. Human nature plays into the explorer archetype. Human nature
fuels it. In my opinion, the explorer archetype would not be a thing without human nature. Human
nature is the basis of every archetype, yet characters have ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
So where does human nature come into play? From the Simthsonianmag.com (an article on our human
nature), Human nature is the basis of all human actions. When you look at these stories, all of them
have something in common. They all have our human nature telling us to explorer for certain reasons.
In some movies it is for survival. Our human nature tells us we need to explore to find food, paths, and
other things that help us survive. As does our human nature tell us the only way to survive is to
explorer. You may not notice it, but the explorer archetype is what helps characters in stories survive
and human nature is what fuels the explorer archetype.
We determined how humanity plays into the explorer archetype, now let s look at how it is shown in
Lost. Before we get started you need to know some background information from lost. This show is
about a group of people that survive a plane crash. They are stranded on an island. No one knows
where they are. Anyways, the explorer archetype is shown in this show. They have nothing but an
island to help them survive. Often times, they find themselves being curious about what is out there.
BBC.com states, We humans have a deeply curious nature, and more often than not it is about the
minor tittle tattle in our lives. (BBC report on curiosity ). Our human nature comes into play here so

The Nature of Evil in William Shakespeare’ s Othello Essay
William Shakespeare’s Othello uses different and unique techniques in his language to express the
nature of evil throughout the play. Verbal twists and the characters most importantly stress the act of
evil. Iago, most of all is portrayed as the “villain” or “protagonist in the play. Shakespeare uses this
character to set the basis of evil. Each plot point is spiraled further into tragedy due to the nature of
Iago and his manipulative language towards the other main characters.
Corruption overcomes the Venetian society as Iago uses his crafty skills of deceit. The plan to have
Othello turn against the ones he loves is the perfect example of evil’s nature. The power struggle is
evident between these two. This situation is the start to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
355,] By playing on his hopes, Iago is able to conjure money and jewels from Roderigo, making
himself a profit, while using Roderigo to further his other plans. He also thinks stealthy on his feet and
is able to improvise whenever something unexpected occurs. When Cassio takes hold of Desdemona s
hand before the arrival of the Moor Othello, Iago says, With as little a web as this will I ensnare as
great a fly as Cassio. [II, i, 163] This language demonstrates the evil inside Iago’s goals of retrieving
absolute power. He actually even says of himself, I am an honest man.... [II, iii, 245] Iago slowly
corrupts the character’s thoughts, creating ideas in their minds without implicating himself. His
medicine works! Thus credulous fools are caught.... [II, i, 44] And what s he then that says I play the
villain, when this advice is free I give, and honest, [II, iii, 299] says Iago. In turn, people rarely stop to
consider the fact that old Iago could be deceiving and manipulating them; yet they are convinced that
he is Honest Iago. From these quotes from “Othello” it is proven that the dialogue used between
Iago and the others is manipulative causing an evil outcome.
Iago’s complexity in character grows as the play comes closer to a conclusion. The tricky and crafty
way Shakespeare uses the evil in Iago is to make him seem amoral as opposed to the typical immoral
villain. At the climactic end of the play, Iago s plot and plan is given away to Othello

The Pros And Cons Of Hatha Yoga
Existence Could Be Unbearably Demanding
Existence could be filled with excitement and fun! For a lot of, though, existence can also be filled
with challenges and demands, and this may lead to worry. These conflicting conditions create stress,
and also, since there s a restriction as we are able to handle, the strain could be intolerable.
Because it is, there s no fast solution or pill that you could take which will take away the stress. Smart
males of old have therefore come to the conclusion that people must look within us for that remedy. A
few of the techniques of to reduce stress are available inside the traditions of meditation and yoga.
Where does yoga originate from?
Cultures for example Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism have incorporated types of yoga inside their
traditions. Yoga because it is practiced today could be tracked towards the influences of these cultures.
At its core, it calls for creating discipline of mind and body, and results in better health or perhaps
spiritual enlightenment if taken that far. A feeling behind the term yoga is joining or union, and refers
back to the re joining in our innermost selves. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Control Of Gene Expression By H Ns
Control of gene expression by H NS
H NS is known as a global regulator which influence the expression of large number of genes in
response to various environmental factors like pH, osmolarity or temperature (Atlung and Ingmer,
1997; Dorman, 2007).Numerous studies can have shown the gene regulatory functions of H NS in
E.coli and Salmonella, acting mainly as a gene silencer (Dorman, 2004; Lucchini et al.,
2006).Transcriptomic studies have revealed that H NS regulates around 1439 genes in S.typhimurium.
In uropathogenic E.coli strain, 536, H NS regulates around 500 genes, including many virulence
factors like cytotoxins, fimbriae and siderophores (Muller et al., 2006).H NS is also responsible for the
silencing of horizontally acquired DNA ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The higher order, rigid, nucleoprotein filament formed by H NS,was found to be receptive to
environmental factors, which are known to influence the gene silencing functions of H NS in vivo
(Amit et al., 2003; Atlung and Ingmer, 1997; Liu et al., 2010; Ono et al., 2005). It was also observed
that salmonella anti silencing protein SsrB could displace H NS from DNA only when H NS
nucleoprotein filament was formed (Walthers et al., 2011). A recent study has shown that H NS
nucleoprotein filament formation is the structural basis for gene silencing by H NS (Lim et al.,
2012a).Using AFM analysis and magnetic tweezer set up,the group showed that only wild type H NS,
but not gene silencing negative H NS mutants, led to the formation of rigid nucleoprotein filaments.
The rigid H NS nucleoprotein filament leads to the formation of an extended DNA conformation (Liu
et al., 2010) and at higher MgCl2 concentrations, results in DNA hairpin formation, implying that
rigid nucleoprotein filament formation and hairpin formation are not mutually exclusive (Lim et al.,
2012a). From the above observations, a model for H NS mediated gene silencing was proposed (Lim
et al., 2012a), based on nucleoprotein filament as the basis for gene silencing (Fig I.11). Here, H NS
nucleates at affinity sites in the gene regulatory region and polymerizes to form nucleoprotein
filament, which is continuous, encompassing extensive segment of DNA. This might

Visual Literacy And Its Impact On The Picture
Have you ever watched a food commercial with images of juicy burgers or rich dark chocolate and
instantly desired to eat that particular food based on the picture? These are clever advertising and
marketing tools used to lure consumers with enticing the imagination. These tools have been used for
many years and prey on our use of visual literacy. Visual literacy is the capacity to explain what we
see through images and make meaning of them. The textbook, Visual Literacy: Learning to See, and
Brian Kennedy s video, Visual Literacy and Why We Need It, explains the definition of visual literacy
differently. The textbook and B. Kennedy s video both offer an intellectual clarity on visual literacy,
but the textbook gives a more accurate definition based on today s world, seeing as there is a
continuous use of images in advertisements and marketing, which rely on much more than just our
sight.
Visual Literacy has a monumental impact on how we interpret the images we view daily such as
commercials and billboards. With the use of these images and the variety of ways they are produced,
our visual literacy needs to interpret if what we are seeing is safe, reliable or accurate. In the journal,
Visual Literacy and the Digital Native, Emmanuel and Challons Lipton state, Visual literacy involves
thinking differently, asking interesting questions, seeing the nuances of things. Visual literacy enables
one to effectively embrace art as an instrument of knowledge, an instrument of

I Am Deeply About The World With Child Eyes
I chose this artist, because she has been a big inspiration on my work. I am deeply in love with her
paintings, the way she combines colors and the textures she creates in her canvas. Starla Michelle was
born in Texas and currently is a professional full time painter in Austin. She got her bachelors of Fine
Arts in Design Communications from Texas Tech University. Her work is mostly mixed medium, with
impasto techniques; which makes her work to have a three dimensional characteristic. Her strong
brushstrokes create bright, colorful patterns that seem to move and flow across her canvas. Her work
makes us see the world with child eyes again. The wonders of life. She is a devoted Christian, and
everything she does she gives Jesus credit for it. Her beautiful paintings are full of emotion.
Starla grew up in a farm in West Texas, where the only access she had to art was a P encyclopedia. At
four years old she would thumb through Paintings thinking Anyone who can do this, has to be happy
all the time. Her childhood was based on chasing butterflies, collecting shells, glass, rocks whatever
she found interesting and beautiful on the way. In the beginning of her teenager s years, she wanted to
be a vet because she loves animals deeply. Most definitely her paintings reflect that. The subject
matter in her paintings are mostly animals, but she also includes flowers to it sometimes. She creates
them in a different way, so they have patterns, different colors and textures.

Sympathy verses Judgment in Carol Ann Duffy s poem Salome
The poem Salome by Carol Ann Duffy is written from the perspective of Salome, a promiscuous
woman who is retelling her drunken night. Although it is unclear whom Salome is speaking to, she
tells her story using informal, colloquial language, as if conversing to a group of friends. Duffy uses
Biblical allusions, which suggest that the speaker can be considered a reflection of the Biblical
character Salome, who appears in the New Testament and is infamous for demanding the head of John
the Baptist. Although Duffy seems to be retelling the traditional story of Salome, she depicts Salome
as a modern figure. The following analysis will explore the Biblical allusions in Duffy s poem, which
help to determine what the poem is about, and moreover will explore how Duffy uses the dramatic
monologue to provoke the reader to have sympathy for Salome. I thus contend that Duffy takes the
reader into the mind of Salome, a character that has traditionally been portrayed as an evil, amoral
woman, in order for the reader to view her from a perspective of sympathy rather than judgment.
As stated, rather than depicting Salome as a completely wicked and cynical character, Duffy provides
indications that the reader is meant to sympathize with her. This is hinted at in the language that Duffy
uses and the different tones in each stanza, proposing that Salome s thoughts are changing

Women s Role Of Women In The Medieval Period
As many would believe, women were thought and viewed to be inferior to men throughout history.
Based on this, they were not seen as ones to take on the same important roles as men would in their
societies like political jobs, warfare, influencer and innovators, and scientists. During the Medieval
period, women rose and began defying the normal stereotypes, even more than usual, and were
recognized by their actions. One woman was Margaret of Anjou, the queen consort of England.
Margaret was the daughter of René of Anjou and the wife of Henry VI. Her home country France was
at war against England and she was offered to King Henry VI as a peace treaty. Being a queen consort,
she did not rule and was an asset to the king. When King Henry suffered from an illness, Margaret
believed she was the one who should temporarily rule in his place. Unfortunately, title was given to
the Duke of York. This occurrence caused a rivalry to emerge between the House of Lancaster and the
House of York; This was called the War of the Roses as Lancaster wore red roses in battle and York
wore white. The second woman is Lady Murasaki, a daughter of Fujiwara family and a Japanese
novelist in the Heian period. She was very intelligent was a young girl and her father still allowed her
to get an education despite it being unsuitable for girls. After the death of her husband, she went to
court and wrote in a diary about the life she has in court and her thoughts. It is believed that Murasaki

Every company has their own way to depreciate fixed assets based on their requirements and
situations. The main reason for such a difference in strategies is showing the amount of profit in a
particular period. In case of Delta they have increased the life of an asset showing low depreciation
which leads to low operating expense resulting in higher profits. However for Singapore airline the
operating profit is good and there is not much need to show lower depreciation, moreover it adds on to
their value by showing a higher salvage value for the equipments they carry. The difference is policies
if proper as the useful life of the asset and the salvage value largely depend the experience that the
organization has in the field and usage of the equipment. In this case we can clearly see that Singapore
airlines have a much smaller operation level than delta. 3. Assuming the average value of flight
equipment that Delta had in 1993, how much of a difference do the depreciation assumptions it
adopted on April 1, 1993 make? How much more or less will its annual depreciation expense be
compared to what it would be were it using Singapore s depreciation assumptions? |Delta Airlines

Nineteenth Century Short Stories and the Gothic Genre Essay
Nineteenth Century Short Stories and the Gothic Genre The three short stories that I have chosen to
compare and contrast are: The Signalman by Charles Dickens, An Arrest by Ambrose Bearcy and
Napoleon and the Spectre by Charlotte Brontë. All these stories were completed by the mid to late
eighteenth hundreds. The Signalman is set by a railway in Britain, along a lonely stretch of a railway
line in a steep cutting. An Arrest is set in America and for the most part in a forest. Napoleon and the
Spectre is set in Paris. Gothic genre was one of the leading and most used genres of the nineteenth

The darkness also gives a sense of mystery to the author s writing. In the glow of an angry sunset, the
stranger re visits the line to see the signalman. The word angry is far from comfortable or romantic.
This line also gives an eerie feel to the fading light and gives a feel that suggests that something is
must and is about to happen that is dark and evil. An Arrest by Ambrose Bearcy is a story of a
murderer who was awaiting his trial, escaped by knocking down his jailer with an iron bar, and went
into the forest. It was night and the forest in to which, he entered was renowned for being wild and
unsafe. He goes for many a mile and some how manages to exit the forest and finds an old road and
on the road there stood the figure of a man, motionless in the gloom. The gothic style protrudes from
this line of the novel very clearly and adds to the sense of suspense and fear that is plaguing this scene.
The fugitive is almost face to face with the figure of a man, and feels he cannot turn his back for fear
of being filled with buckshot, so he stood there like a tree. The fugitive is hoping that if he stands still
enough he will become a tree and escape this horror. Until the moon sailed into a patch of unclouded
sky, the haunted man saw the visible embodiment of law lift an arm and point significantly beyond
him. At which he

Of all the cities I lived in, I spent most of my military time in Charleston, S.C. and Jacksonville, FL.

victim of war due to the dilapidation it suffered during the Civil War. The climates of Charleston and
Jacksonville were generally considered to be similar, hot and very muggy. My experience was that
there was still a large difference and I had come to feel as though each city s climate resembled the
attitudes of its residents, or maybe it was just the opposite. Residents of Charleston were laid back and
unrushed while the residents of Jacksonville were impatient and hurried. I remember the deep blue
skies over Charleston harbor were often filled with white puffs of clouds that resembled perfectly
shaped cotton balls. I could always count on the light and pleasant ocean breeze that made it difficult
to focus on my work, and if rain came, it drifted in as slowly and silently as the sailboats returning to

Applying A New Localization Approach Based On...
A fine grained Indoor Localization using Multidimensional WiFi Fingerprinting
Abstract Although fingerprint based localization is promising for indoor applications, its accuracy
remains a huge challenge. Most existing approaches depends on the Radio Signal Strength (RSS) to
generate fingerprints. Merely using RSS is unable to accurately localize since such an one dimensional
fingerprint is serious influenced by the interference and multipath effect in the indoor environment. In
this paper, we propose a new localization approach based on multidimensional WiFi fingerprint.
Instead of using RSS only, we employ RSS, transmitted power, and channel information to construct
fingerprints. The extension of fingerprints enables fine grained localization and tracking services. We
also deign a cosine similarity based matching algorithm and enhanced particle filter mechanism to
realize the localization and tracking. Extensive experiment and implementation results show that using
the new fingerprint can achieve an accuracy within 2m in 90% testing points, with good adaptability
to complex indoor environments.

metropolitan areas such as Detroit is crucial in speeding the process of improving the livelihoods and
security amongst metropolitan urban populations.
3. Background of the Issue The challenges of inducing development in metropolitan cities in the US
date back to 1936 when Mississippi became the first state to develop policies for encouraging
industrial development by private stakeholders. Such public policies were sanctioned by the state that
deployed industrial development bonds to achieve this endeavor. Since then, many states and local
governments deploy economic incentives such as IBDs, tax exemptions , TIFAs, enterprise zones
(EZ), general obligation bonds, and local manufacturing revenue bonds among others (Bradshaw and
Blakely 235). The issue is whether these incentives are cost effective in achieving their desired
outcomes.
The above issue has attracted criticism and support from different economic scholars. For instance,
Peters and Fisher claim that such incentives need to be scrapped since subsidization of new
investments has the implication of attracting immigrants who take up jobs, thus

Essay On Doctor Faustus
Ironically, there was a direct correlation between Faustus using his blood to sign over his soul to
Lucifer and the blood Christ as a symbol of salvation. Faustus to use his blood by the request of
Mephastophilis to symbolized his true commitment to sin. However, due to a strange twist of faith, his
blood began to coagulate. Doctor Faustus voice of reason enters into existence causing him to second
guess his decision. His actions gave the perception he may actually change his mind, however those
thought were short lived. It was with in Doctor Faustus belief system that he had total control over his
soul and he declares Why should st thou not? Is not they soul thine own?...Faustus gives to thee is

Medieval Religion beliefs are centered on the notion all sins are forgiven with exception in Doctor
Faustus case; primarily, due to his corrupted spirit and self denial to fall under the graciousness of
God. His conscience was at the forefront of his decision to practice black magic guiding him toward
sin; even though he knew it was wrong. (McCloskey 111)
Doctor Faustus seemed as if selling his soul was a small price to pay to gain authority over others. In
contrast, he failed to realize that Lucifer bought his soul at four twenty years and condemned to hell
for eternity. McCloskey acknowledged that, Yet the prize for which he has sold his body and soul to
the devil seems puny besides the cost. (McCloskey 111) When in fact, God would have offered him
forever grace free of charge. It was quite possible Doctor Faustus could not ever image the power of
God s grace. There was only one way he could have survived the grips of Lucifer, which would have
been to repent. However, he chose the path of disparity causing his own demise. It is the sin of despair
which effects the catastrophe (McCloskey 112)
In contrast to Doctor Faustus disparity he was revealed as a man who embraced the Renaissance spirit.
This was a time that alternative lifestyles were emerging, the arts were flourishing and there was an
awakening or reformation of religion. It was not a coincidence Faustus gravitated to his new religion
called black magic. However, his

The Blue Hotel
The Blue Hotel by Stephen Crane is classic short piece written in 1899. A time when Naturalism
became a concept of much influence. Naturalism, an outgrowth of Realism, is a movement in
literature that seeks to capture a believable everyday reality. This often portrays the darker side of
human nature and the harshness of life; including poverty, racism, prejudice, disease, prostitution,
filth, etc. Although The Blue Hotel is extremely well done, it was slow to start and has a weak ending.
I wished that the characters would have had more depth, making this my least favorite piece. Crane,
known for his Naturalist writing style, was inspired to write The Blue Hotel during a trip to Lincoln,
Nebraska. There he interfered a kerfuffle in a hotel ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
a child is born into nineteenth century Baltimore an old man. His father, a proper gentleman of means,
Mr. Button cannot accept that this old man is his son and stands firmly against the reality of his son s
condition as if it were a position, something to be disagreed with. Benjamin tries to accommodate his
father by acting his age. By the time Benjamin is twelve years old, he notices that his white hair has
gone dark gray and fewer wrinkles line his face. Overall his physical condition is improving and he is
getting younger. Unlike his father, who cannot accept the reality of Benjamin s physical appearance,
the outside world is only capable of responding to nothing other than Benjamin s physical appearance.
For example, even though Yale accepts Benjamin s application for college entrance, the university
refuses to accept him in person because he looks old enough to be his own father. he continues to age
in reverse. Eventually, Benjamin is young enough to go kindergarten, and finally too young even for
that. As he gets smaller and smaller, he forgets all the things he s ever done in life. At last, Benjamin
can sense only colors and the smell of milk, and finally even those small sensations fade away. The
obvious conflict is that Benjamin is born as an old man and must deal with this strange situation and
the social stigma of being abnormal. He overcomes his

Felicity Baker, Olivia Metcalf and others from the University of Melbourne reviewed studies to see
just how effective the creative art therapies are for those suffering from PTSD. The way they did this
was by searching databases for peer reviewed published studies to test the efficiency of the creative art
therapies for PTSD sufferers. The focused population was adults who suffer from PTSD. They
categorized treatments into three different categories: ongoing therapist involvement, limited therapist
involvement and unknown therapist involvement.

The Influence Of Brunelleschi s Dome In Florence
In my studies, I decided to research Brunelleschi s Dome in Florence, Italy, its beginning and
inspiration, and how it was constructed. I was amazed by the building of this structure and how the
idea of such a structure came about. It all started in 1418 when the Florentine Fathers noticed that their
Cathedral had been an open to the sky throughout its existence. They decided to cover this big hole
but had no idea how to do it. They were inspired by the Parthenon and its infrastructure, and wanted to
build a dome to represent their power and spiritual aspiration. They didn t know if their cathedral
could hold the weight of a dome (since the Parthenon was made of concrete), and it it would have to
have major support. None of them knew where to start, so they had a contest to see who could come
up with the best plan and idea to execute ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brunelleschi was a hot head and knew he was a genius. His pride badly influenced the judge s
impression of him and his plan. The competition grew tedious, but Brunelleschi was persistent and
knew his idea would work. He was known for being a genius, because As a boy, during his goldsmith
s apprenticeship, he had mastered drawing and painting, wood carving, sculpture in silver and bronze,
stone setting, niello, and enamel work (Mueller, 2014). With much consent, and much convincing, the
Florentine Fathers gave Brunelleschi a chance to prove his ideas. His plan was this: He wanted to
construct two domes, one within another. This would be done to minimize the scaffolding and the
weight distribution. He would then support the inner dome and with bindings (much like a wooden
barrel has) around using metal, stone and wood. After, to minimize the weight of the dome, he would
then use more porous rock (like volcanic rock) after building for 46 feet. His plan required no timber
scaffolding, and no supports that would be based inside the

The Availability Of New Information Management And...
The availability of new information management and supporting system like Data Warehousing,

improved business performance. Decisions based on Business Intelligence and Analytics can impact
the bottom line by reducing cost and increasing revenues.
According to Haertzen (2012), Enterprise Data Warehousing (EDW) is a process for collecting,
storing, and delivering decision support data for an entire enterprise or business unit . A data
warehouse is not operational data. It contains a copy of operational and other data, rather than being a
source of original data. This data is often obtained from multiple data sources and is useful for
strategic decision making. Its purpose is not just to maintain historical data. A data warehouse contains
specific data that has been gathered for analytics and reporting. Enterprise Data Warehousing includes
people, processes, and technologies to achieve the goal of providing decision support. The Data
Warehouse contains intelligent data collections which are modeled to support the reporting and
analysis needs of the Decision Support function of the organization. So, the main key goals of data
warehouse are: Make fact based decisions, Make timely decisions, Make profitable decisions that

Analysis Of Canadian Politician Ron Johnson
Pricing is actually a pretty simple and straight forward thing. Customers will not pay literally a penny
more than the true value of the product (Johnson, R. n.d.). The introductory citation by Canadian
Politician Ron Johnson lays the foundation for this case assignment. A case assignment composed of
proposals to numerous companies pertaining to their pricing strategy. For products created by their
individual organizations. Let s kickoff this case assignment by exploring possible strategies, for a
company that recently developed a new 3D television.
3D television:
A company has produced a state of the art 3D television that contains unique features, that is different
from other 3D televisions currently in the market. This company acquired a patent on a new
technology that doesn t involve the end user to put on 3D glasses to enjoy the effect and display of this
contemporary television. Due, to the patent and superior technology this company will revel in the
advantage it will gain over other companies for at least a year or two. So, it would be prudent that this
company heeds the following advice, in protecting their interest concerning the pricing strategy for
this advanced 3D television.
Consider your overall marketing goals, such as penetrating new markets with new products, or
maintaining a higher market share with existing products compared to your closest competitors (Paley,
N. 2006). Since, technology is constantly developing and manufacturers are always

Violation Of Drug Testing
Some people may say that mandatory drug testing is a violation of the athletes Fourth Amendment
right. According to some people, these tests are unnecessary and therefore violate these rights. The
author of Mandatory Drug Testing Violates Rights believes that drug testing is a violation of the
Fourth Amendment of the Constitution; Courts have ruled that drug tests are a search. A search is a
privacy issue, and there has to be a reason for the search. This is true. Drug tests are a search, and in
some cases they may violate the rights of some citizens. Professional athletes, on the other hand, do
not get their rights violated by this. This does not violate the Fourth Amendment because the athletes
have already agreed to the rules of participating in the sport. Deborah Lee and Ann Griswold, authors
of Point: Athletes Should be Tested for Drugs explains that in none of these cases have athletes
Constitutional rights been abrogated because the participation in athletic events is always voluntary
and never mandatory. The mandate only comes into play after the athlete has agreed to participate,
thereby voluntarily agreeing to obey the rules of the sport. This explains how the athletes have agreed
to the rules of the activity, which in most cases prohibit the use of many performance enhancing
substances, so since they have agreed to these conditions, the mandatory drug testing of athletes is not
a violation of their rights. An athlete s rights are not being violated by

Chronic Pain Informative Essay
Millions of people suffer with chronic pain; making it the top reason people go see the doctor. With a
price tag of at least $635 billion a year, that s more than cancer, heart disease and diabetes combined.
While powerful painkillers help many folks cope, many people don t want to have to rely on a bottle
of pills for the rest of their life.
Dr. Fatima Salas, with the Grace Health System Pain Management Center, says many patients are
concerned about dependency or addiction. People say I want to feel like myself again and clear
headed. They want to try everything else before resorting to drugs. Dr. Salas will work with you to
develop the best line of treatment for your chronic pain with and without drugs.

They include chiropractic manipulation, massage and physical therapy. Many patients who tried spinal
injections found them to be very helpful, although the techniques their doctors used varied. One of the
top treatments, though, is plain old exercise. While many people with chronic pain are scared to move,
experts say exercise could be considered as close to a magic bullet than anything else.
When pain patients get a move on, they are often pleasantly surprised at how well they feel. In fact, a
recent survey of more than 14,000 people, Consumer Reports found the best pain reliever was
exercise. Dr. Salas adds exercise and losing weight benefits your overall health, as well as pain.
Doctors say spinal cord stimulation is also very effective for most chronic pain, if appropriate. It
involves electrical stimulation of the spinal cord to interrupt pain signals from the spinal cord to the
brain, and to trade a painful sensation with a more pleasant tingling sensation. Unlike other remedies,
stimulation can be tried on a temporary

Definition of osmosis: The diffusion of water across a selectively permeable membrane from high to
low concentrations
Hypothesis: If I place an egg in vinegar, then the outer layer of the egg is going to become slimy and
look like rubber. It will also become larger and bubbles will form on and around the egg.
Hypothesis: If I place an egg in corn syrup, then the egg will become small and the outer layer will not
look like rubber any longer.
Day one:
Date started: 8/6
Volume: 2 oz. pH of acetic acid: 2.4
Day two
The egg shell completely disappears due to the vinegar reacting with the egg; bubbles form on the
surface of the vinegar and on the egg because carbon dioxide was produced from ... Show more

This is also known as a hypertonic solution which explains why the egg will decrease in size. Corn
syrup is a hypertonic liquid because it is very concentrated with not much water compared to the egg
unlike water which is hypotonic because it contains more water than the egg. In this solution, the
solute remains the egg, and the solvent is changed to corn syrup. Osmosis still plays an action because
water is still passing through the membrane from high to low concentrations.
Hypothesis: If the egg is placed into water, then it will increase in size since water is a hypotonic
liquid because it contains more water than the egg.
Day Five
Egg volume: 4oz.
Remaining water: 6oz.
Conclusion:
Osmosis took place in the egg under a variety of conditions because the membrane of the egg has tiny
openings where water can pass through from high to low concentrations. On day one, it was a
hypotonic solution because the higher concentration of water in the vinegar moved to the smaller
concentration in the egg. This means the egg was filled with water, which resulted in the eggs increase
in size. On day three, the hypotonic solution occurred because the corn syrup had a lower
concentration of water than the egg. That means the egg released water into the corn syrup, which
resulted in the eggs decrease in size. On day four, the egg was placed in water which resulted in an
isotonic solution where the concentrations become even. This

Significance Of The ANZAC Legend
The ANZAC spirit was born on the twenty fifth of April 1915, on this day Australian soldiers landed
upon the shores of Gallipoli to serve their country for the first time in war. Each year Australians
celebrate the mateship, courage and heroism the ANZAC soldiers showed on that day. Although,
people tend to depict these soldiers as victims of a catastrophic trauma, yet this passionate sacrifice is
what gave Australia its name. Furthermore, there is word of discussion about the truth behind the
accuracy of the ANZAC legend. Evidence demonstrates that the ANZAC legend is an accurate
portrayal of what occurred the day the ANZAC S landed in Gallipoli. The legend of mateship,
heroism, courage and bravery is an accurate representation of the fighting Australian and New Zealand
soldiers in world war one.
After the ANZACs landed in Gallipoli, they were in combat for approximately eight and a half
months. Throughout this long and tedious period of time the soldiers went through many traumatic
experiences. Although, when looking in the face of death the soldiers were able to have a spirit of
mateship to make conditions bearable. To support this, a governor general stated in an article posted in
two thousand and eight, they gave their lives for a supreme cause in gallant comradeship with the rest
of my soldiers who fought and died with them. This source is exclaiming that the soldiers would put
their fellow comrades before themselves as mateship was prioritised by them. Because of

Waite House Reflection
When first prompted with the assignment to volunteer 20 hours of my time somewhere off the
University of Minnesota s campus, I was quite stressed out because of the time commitment.
However, as I was reading through the list of possible locations to volunteer one particular place
grabbed my attention and made me feel as though it would not be as terrible of an experience that I
assumed it would be for me. The name of this place was Waite House and thankfully it is currently the
organization where I am engaging in my service learning. Waite House is located in the Ventura
Village neighborhood within the Phillips community in Minneapolis. Waite House caught my
attention because not only was it a relatively short commute on the public transit system, but the
description mentioned youth fitness and obesity/diabetes prevention. Not only am I educated in
diabetes prevention, but I also have previous experience with fitness and working with youth. So, I
applied to this organization because I felt as though Waite House would be the perfect placement for
me. According to the Waite House website, their purpose/mission states the following: Waite House

  • 2. Retrograde Amnesia Essay Retrograde Amnesia, being a common type of Amnesia, is the one most people are familiar with. (King, 2016) Retrograde Amnesia is the loss of past memories. If someone falls and hits their head, the damage caused by that accident could cause the person to forget that the accident even occurred. (Pg. 234) For example, a friend once decided to try snowboarding, and did not learn how to stop before she went to the top of the hill. She went down, picking up speed, and did not notice the small cliff at the bottom until it was too late to turn away. She decided to fall so she would not go over the cliff, and while she was successful at that, she unfortunately hit her head on a patch of ice as she fell. She remained conscience, but lost not only ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, she could not tell you what she had just finished eating, where she was, or what year it was. Her fall had caused Anterograde Amnesia, and she could no longer make new memories. Her Doctors decided that the damage was extensive, and with her age, there was no chance of her regaining her ability to create new memories. We also discovered what looked like damage caused by a stroke, which had gone unnoticed by us. Before the fall, she had some difficulty remembering recent events, which was most likely caused by damage from the stroke. When she fell, more damage occurred in the same area, leaving her with Anterograde Amnesia. Both of those events damaged the part of the brain that encodes. Without the ability to encode, she could no longer make new memories. (King, 2016 Pg. 233,234) Where Does Memory Loss Occur? Since memory is layered, loss can occur in many different areas. (King, 2016 Pg. 216, 217) In Retrograde Amnesia, long term memory is what is affected. Long term memory is more permanent than any other type of memory. It allows for lasting memories, that can sometimes be stored for life. Long term is complex, and the brain uses many components in order to successfully create memories in this section. What many do not seem to realize is that a law enforcement agency is not a job, it is a career. One must truly be dedicated and determined to work in the field because it is all about your love for what you are doing. The type of applicant in which a police department attracts all depends on who they need on their team to balance things out. For instance, if a department is lacking in female officers they are going to advertise and reach out to females so that more of them would gain interest in the force. The recruitment process in general consist of three different elements; the minimum qualifications, the recruitment effort, and the applicant s decision to apply for a position. The minimum qualifications include various aspects. Minimum age level is one of the main qualifications. Each department have their own set of rules and regulations but for the most part all departments have a standard age requirement which is no younger than 21 and no older than 35. Experts were not sure if 21 was a good age requirement because they could not tell whether one at such a young age could handle the task and whether if they were mature enough to do the job effectively and efficiently. It is not today in which many department put a age maximum but there are still a few, such as the New York Police Department, they do not allow anyone over the age of 35, for retirement ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... (Avolio,2010) Firewall According to (Gattine, 2013).A firewall is a hardware or software system that deters unauthorized access to or from a network. This can be implemented in both hardware and software, or a combination of both. Firewalls are mainly used to prevent unauthorized Internet users from accessing private networks connected to the Internet. All data entering or leaving the intranet pass through the firewall, which examines each packet and blocks those that do not meet the specified security criteria. Normally, Firewalls are configured to protect against unauthenticated interactive logins from the outside world. This helps prevent hackers from logging into machines on your network. Sophisticated firewalls block traffic from the outside to the inside, but permit users on the inside to communicate a little more freely with the outside. Firewalls are important since they provide a single block point, where security and auditing can be imposed. Firewalls provide an essential logging and auditing function; often, they provide summaries to the administrator about what type/volume of traffic has been processed through it. This provides important benefit: Providing this block point can serve the same purpose on your ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Pros And Cons Of Solar And Wind Energy According to President Barack Obama, There is one issue that will define the contours of this century more dramatically than any other, and that is the urgent threat of a changing climate. The main reason for global warming is the increment of using fossil fuels as a key source of energy across the board, so some developed countries have started to transform the non renewable power sources to renewable resources. Solar and wind energy systems are two kinds of renewable source of energy. Even if solar and wind power differ in methods of generating power, they bring similar benefits to the society and environment. Solar and wind energy have different processes to produce electricity. Solar energy creates electricity by making large amounts of heat, which is conducted through electrical conductors and changed into electrical power. In most solar systems, solar panels mounted on the roof. These panels contain photovoltaic cells made from silicon that convert incoming sunlight into electricity instead of heat. ( Photovoltaic means electricity from light photo = light, voltaic = electricity.) The photons of the sunlight knock the electrons from the silicon, as a result, the negatively electrons accumulate in one side of the silicon cell to create electrical voltage. This current form photovoltaic array and flows through PV array cables, which are terminated in one fused array combiner box. It is designed to protect the PV cell cables, and to deliver DC (Direct Current) ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is where the Vietcong won the fight between the ARVN despite their superior fire power, and the fact that the Vietcong were outnumbered four to one. Overall there were many other turning points other than the Tet Offensive 1968 in the Vietnam War, such as the Gulf of Tonkin incident, the attack at Pleiku and the Battle of Ac Bac. However The Tet Offensive was the key turning point, this is because it shook USA s previous confidence in winning the war, it reduced their morale. This is shown by the USA believing Tet was a defeat, even though it was technically a win e.g. the Vietcong were nearly wiped out with their loss of 50000 men. It also led to many events such as the public protests and the changes in tactics. It also led to a key event in the war, which was the withdrawal of the US i.e. their policy of ... Most importantly, how does the explorer archetype fuel our human nature? The explorer archetype is shown in many films. In most of the stories, the explorer archetype has helped the character to achieve something or help them survive. It has come to show without this archetype, in some movies, the character would not be able to survive or achieve the ultimate goal. Human nature plays into the explorer archetype. Verbal twists and the characters most importantly stress the act of evil. Iago, most of all is portrayed as the “villain” or “protagonist in the play. Shakespeare uses this character to set the basis of evil. Each plot point is spiraled further into tragedy due to the nature of Iago and his manipulative language towards the other main characters. Corruption overcomes the Venetian society as Iago uses his crafty skills of deceit. The plan to have Othello turn against the ones he loves is the perfect example of evil’s nature. He also thinks stealthy on his feet and is able to improvise whenever something unexpected occurs. When Cassio takes hold of Desdemona s hand before the arrival of the Moor Othello, Iago says, With as little a web as this will I ensnare as great a fly as Cassio. [II, i, 163] This language demonstrates the evil inside Iago’s goals of retrieving absolute power. He actually even says of himself, I am an honest man.... [II, iii, 245] Iago slowly corrupts the character’s thoughts, creating ideas in their minds without implicating himself. His medicine works! Thus credulous fools are caught.... [II, i, 44] And what s he then that says I play the villain, when this advice is free I give, and honest, [II, iii, 299] says Iago. In turn, people rarely stop to consider the fact that old Iago could be deceiving and manipulating them; yet they are convinced that he is Honest Iago. From these quotes from “Othello” it is proven that the dialogue used between Iago and the others is manipulative causing an evil outcome. Iago’s complexity in character grows as the play comes closer to a conclusion. The tricky and crafty way Shakespeare uses the evil in Iago is to make him seem amoral as opposed to the typical immoral villain. A recent study has shown that H NS nucleoprotein filament formation is the structural basis for gene silencing by H NS (Lim et al., 2012a).Using AFM analysis and magnetic tweezer set up,the group showed that only wild type H NS, but not gene silencing negative H NS mutants, led to the formation of rigid nucleoprotein filaments. The rigid H NS nucleoprotein filament leads to the formation of an extended DNA conformation (Liu et al., 2010) and at higher MgCl2 concentrations, results in DNA hairpin formation, implying that rigid nucleoprotein filament formation and hairpin formation are not mutually exclusive (Lim et al., 2012a). From the above observations, a model for H NS mediated gene silencing was proposed (Lim et al., 2012a), based on nucleoprotein filament as the basis for gene silencing (Fig I.11). Here, H NS nucleates at affinity sites in the gene regulatory region and polymerizes to form nucleoprotein filament, which is continuous, encompassing extensive segment of DNA. This might ... • 11. Visual Literacy And Its Impact On The Picture Have you ever watched a food commercial with images of juicy burgers or rich dark chocolate and instantly desired to eat that particular food based on the picture? These are clever advertising and marketing tools used to lure consumers with enticing the imagination. These tools have been used for many years and prey on our use of visual literacy. Visual literacy is the capacity to explain what we see through images and make meaning of them. The textbook, Visual Literacy: Learning to See, and Brian Kennedy s video, Visual Literacy and Why We Need It, explains the definition of visual literacy differently. The textbook and B. Kennedy s video both offer an intellectual clarity on visual literacy, but the textbook gives a more accurate definition based on today s world, seeing as there is a continuous use of images in advertisements and marketing, which rely on much more than just our sight. Visual Literacy has a monumental impact on how we interpret the images we view daily such as commercials and billboards. With the use of these images and the variety of ways they are produced, our visual literacy needs to interpret if what we are seeing is safe, reliable or accurate. In the journal, Visual Literacy and the Digital Native, Emmanuel and Challons Lipton state, Visual literacy involves thinking differently, asking interesting questions, seeing the nuances of things. I am deeply in love with her paintings, the way she combines colors and the textures she creates in her canvas. Starla Michelle was born in Texas and currently is a professional full time painter in Austin. She got her bachelors of Fine Arts in Design Communications from Texas Tech University. Her work is mostly mixed medium, with impasto techniques; which makes her work to have a three dimensional characteristic. Her strong brushstrokes create bright, colorful patterns that seem to move and flow across her canvas. Her work makes us see the world with child eyes again. The wonders of life. She is a devoted Christian, and everything she does she gives Jesus credit for it. Her beautiful paintings are full of emotion. Starla grew up in a farm in West Texas, where the only access she had to art was a P encyclopedia. At four years old she would thumb through Paintings thinking Anyone who can do this, has to be happy all the time. Her childhood was based on chasing butterflies, collecting shells, glass, rocks whatever she found interesting and beautiful on the way. In the beginning of her teenager s years, she wanted to be a vet because she loves animals deeply. Most definitely her paintings reflect that. • 13. Carol Ann Duffy Allusions Katelyn Nowocin Dr. Plamondon ENGL 3487 7 November 2017 Sympathy verses Judgment in Carol Ann Duffy s poem Salome The poem Salome by Carol Ann Duffy is written from the perspective of Salome, a promiscuous woman who is retelling her drunken night. Although it is unclear whom Salome is speaking to, she tells her story using informal, colloquial language, as if conversing to a group of friends. Duffy uses Biblical allusions, which suggest that the speaker can be considered a reflection of the Biblical character Salome, who appears in the New Testament and is infamous for demanding the head of John the Baptist. Although Duffy seems to be retelling the traditional story of Salome, she depicts Salome as a modern figure. The following analysis will explore the Biblical allusions in Duffy s poem, which help to determine what the poem is about, and moreover will explore how Duffy uses the dramatic monologue to provoke the reader to have sympathy for Salome. I thus contend that Duffy takes the reader into the mind of Salome, a character that has traditionally been portrayed as an evil, amoral woman, in order for the reader to view her from a perspective of sympathy rather than judgment. As stated, rather than depicting Salome as a completely wicked and cynical character, Duffy provides indications that the reader is meant to sympathize with her. This is hinted at in the language that Duffy uses and the different tones in each stanza, proposing that Salome s thoughts are changing ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 14. Women s Role Of Women In The Medieval Period As many would believe, women were thought and viewed to be inferior to men throughout history. Based on this, they were not seen as ones to take on the same important roles as men would in their societies like political jobs, warfare, influencer and innovators, and scientists. During the Medieval period, women rose and began defying the normal stereotypes, even more than usual, and were recognized by their actions. One woman was Margaret of Anjou, the queen consort of England. Margaret was the daughter of René of Anjou and the wife of Henry VI. Her home country France was at war against England and she was offered to King Henry VI as a peace treaty. Being a queen consort, she did not rule and was an asset to the king. When King Henry suffered from an illness, Margaret believed she was the one who should temporarily rule in his place. Unfortunately, title was given to the Duke of York. This occurrence caused a rivalry to emerge between the House of Lancaster and the House of York; This was called the War of the Roses as Lancaster wore red roses in battle and York wore white. The second woman is Lady Murasaki, a daughter of Fujiwara family and a Japanese novelist in the Heian period. She was very intelligent was a young girl and her father still allowed her to get an education despite it being unsuitable for girls. Every company has their own way to depreciate fixed assets based on their requirements and situations. The main reason for such a difference in strategies is showing the amount of profit in a particular period. In case of Delta they have increased the life of an asset showing low depreciation which leads to low operating expense resulting in higher profits. However for Singapore airline the operating profit is good and there is not much need to show lower depreciation, moreover it adds on to their value by showing a higher salvage value for the equipments they carry. The difference is policies if proper as the useful life of the asset and the salvage value largely depend the experience that the organization has in the field and usage of the equipment. In this case we can clearly see that Singapore airlines have a much smaller operation level than delta. 3. Assuming the average value of flight equipment that Delta had in 1993, how much of a difference do the depreciation assumptions it adopted on April 1, 1993 make? Nineteenth Century Short Stories and the Gothic Genre Essay Nineteenth Century Short Stories and the Gothic Genre The three short stories that I have chosen to compare and contrast are: The Signalman by Charles Dickens, An Arrest by Ambrose Bearcy and Napoleon and the Spectre by Charlotte Brontë. An Arrest by Ambrose Bearcy is a story of a murderer who was awaiting his trial, escaped by knocking down his jailer with an iron bar, and went into the forest. It was night and the forest in to which, he entered was renowned for being wild and unsafe. He goes for many a mile and some how manages to exit the forest and finds an old road and on the road there stood the figure of a man, motionless in the gloom. The gothic style protrudes from this line of the novel very clearly and adds to the sense of suspense and fear that is plaguing this scene. The fugitive is almost face to face with the figure of a man, and feels he cannot turn his back for fear of being filled with buckshot, so he stood there like a tree. A fine grained Indoor Localization using Multidimensional WiFi Fingerprinting Abstract Although fingerprint based localization is promising for indoor applications, its accuracy remains a huge challenge. Most existing approaches depends on the Radio Signal Strength (RSS) to generate fingerprints. Merely using RSS is unable to accurately localize since such an one dimensional fingerprint is serious influenced by the interference and multipath effect in the indoor environment. In this paper, we propose a new localization approach based on multidimensional WiFi fingerprint. Instead of using RSS only, we employ RSS, transmitted power, and channel information to construct fingerprints. The extension of fingerprints enables fine grained localization and tracking services. We also deign a cosine similarity based matching algorithm and enhanced particle filter mechanism to realize the localization and tracking. Extensive experiment and implementation results show that using the new fingerprint can achieve an accuracy within 2m in 90% testing points, with good adaptability to complex indoor environments. Such public policies were sanctioned by the state that deployed industrial development bonds to achieve this endeavor. Since then, many states and local governments deploy economic incentives such as IBDs, tax exemptions , TIFAs, enterprise zones (EZ), general obligation bonds, and local manufacturing revenue bonds among others (Bradshaw and Blakely 235). I was amazed by the building of this structure and how the idea of such a structure came about. It all started in 1418 when the Florentine Fathers noticed that their Cathedral had been an open to the sky throughout its existence. They decided to cover this big hole but had no idea how to do it. They were inspired by the Parthenon and its infrastructure, and wanted to build a dome to represent their power and spiritual aspiration. Day one: Date started: 8/6 Volume: 2 oz. pH of acetic acid: 2.4 Day two The egg shell completely disappears due to the vinegar reacting with the egg; bubbles form on the surface of the vinegar and on the egg because carbon dioxide was produced from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is also known as a hypertonic solution which explains why the egg will decrease in size. Corn syrup is a hypertonic liquid because it is very concentrated with not much water compared to the egg unlike water which is hypotonic because it contains more water than the egg. In this solution, the solute remains the egg, and the solvent is changed to corn syrup. Osmosis still plays an action because water is still passing through the membrane from high to low concentrations. Hypothesis: If the egg is placed into water, then it will increase in size since water is a hypotonic liquid because it contains more water than the egg. Day Five Egg volume: 4oz. Remaining water: 6oz. Conclusion: Osmosis took place in the egg under a variety of conditions because the membrane of the egg has tiny openings where water can pass through from high to low concentrations. On day one, it was a hypotonic solution because the higher concentration of water in the vinegar moved to the smaller concentration in the egg. This means the egg was filled with water, which resulted in the eggs increase in size. On day three, the hypotonic solution occurred because the corn syrup had a lower concentration of water than the egg. That means the egg released water into the corn syrup, which resulted in the eggs decrease in size. On day four, the egg was placed in water which resulted in an isotonic solution where the concentrations become even. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 33. Significance Of The ANZAC Legend The ANZAC spirit was born on the twenty fifth of April 1915, on this day Australian soldiers landed upon the shores of Gallipoli to serve their country for the first time in war. Evidence demonstrates that the ANZAC legend is an accurate portrayal of what occurred the day the ANZAC S landed in Gallipoli. The legend of mateship, heroism, courage and bravery is an accurate representation of the fighting Australian and New Zealand soldiers in world war one. This source is exclaiming that the soldiers would put their fellow comrades before themselves as mateship was prioritised by them. Because of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 34. Waite House Reflection When first prompted with the assignment to volunteer 20 hours of my time somewhere off the University of Minnesota s campus, I was quite stressed out because of the time commitment. However, as I was reading through the list of possible locations to volunteer one particular place grabbed my attention and made me feel as though it would not be as terrible of an experience that I assumed it would be for me. The name of this place was Waite House and thankfully it is currently the organization where I am engaging in my service learning. Waite House is located in the Ventura Village neighborhood within the Phillips community in Minneapolis. Waite House caught my attention because not only was it a relatively short commute on the public transit system, but the description mentioned youth fitness and obesity/diabetes prevention. Not only am I educated in diabetes prevention, but I also have previous experience with fitness and working with youth. So, I applied to this organization because I felt as though Waite House would be the perfect placement for me. According to the Waite House website, their purpose/mission states the following: Waite House programs integrate civic engagement with human services to bring about positive change within our core focus areas of Employment and Training, Health and Nutrition, Youth ... Now, one of my top five strengths from the StrengthsQuest assessment is adaptability. If working with underestimated communities was not something I continued with I do not think I would currently be volunteering at Waite House. Not only am I enthusiastic about the work, but I have the patience to carry out the charitable tasks with the knowledge of how to work with others to get the job done most ...
