violent act does not come clearly through the play. It is only when she does not see him that she has
more problems for herself. She is forced to consider cultural factor that may be contributing to her

Unlike the way Carol treats John demanding for answers, Tony is less present, only after the first date
while Carol visits John two more time after their first initial encounter. In both cases, Carol and Tony

Abstract Over current in a power system is a situation when a larger than rated electric current exists
through a conductor, leading to excessive generation of heat, and the risk of fire or damage to
equipment Possible causes for over current include short circuits, excessive load, incorrect design, or a
ground fault. This paper presents the design and implementation of a microcontroller based
overcurrent relay for safe, reliable and efficient operation of power systems. Automated overcurrent
protection is done by programming a Arduino (microcontroller) with standard ABB moderately
inverse relay characteristics where the relay operates automatically in a permissible time whenever
there is an over current (abnormal or fault condition) in a power system [2].

Features Of A Network Topology Essay
2.1 Topology:
Actually here we are discussing about a network topology. A topology is the physical configuration of
a network that determines how the network s computers are connected. The way in which constituent
parts are arranged. The physical topology of a network is the actual geometric layout of workstations.
There are several common physical topologies based on the configuration. They are Star Topology,
Ring Topology, Buss Topology, Mesh Topology, Hybrid Topology and Tree Topology.
2.2 Star Topology:
Star topology is one of the most common network setups. In this arrangement, every node connects to
a central hub, switch or computer; the hub acting as a server and the peripheral devices as clients. A
major disadvantage of this network topology is that if the central hub fails, all of the connected
devices are disconnected. In a star network layout, each workstation is connected by its own cable
directly to the server. Star networks are usually the layout of choice in schools and offices because
they tend to be the most reliable of the topologies. The visual example shows how this setup gets its
name as it is shaped very much like a star.
FIGURE 2.1: Star Topology
Advantages:
Star networks are very reliable. If one connection fails, it does not affect other users
Very few data collisions as each workstation has its own cable to the server
Good security no workstation can interact with another without going through the server first
Easy to install

Bitcoin Is Becoming Too Stronger
Due to the rapid development of a cryptocurrency environment, the value of Bitcoin is becoming even
stronger. Unlike other digital currency, Bitcoin is constantly showing its positive dynamics in terms of
price and public acceptance. It becomes obvious after recent exchange rate increase, which is 1113.5$
now according to CEX.io.
However, the ever widening popularity of Bitcoin has resulted in more frequent hacking attempts
towards cryptocurrency related service providers. Cryptocurrency exchanges are no stranger to
various hacker attacks aimed at activity disruption and virtual money theft. Being a major bitcoin
pool, they are always subject to cybersecurity risk and threat.

CryptoCurrency Security Standard can make a real breakthrough in the world of digital money if
approved by the public.
While this one for all security approach is under consideration, bitcoin exchanges are working their
way forward. They are getting to grips with the hackers by all appropriate means.
Caution is the parent of safety
Following the lead of the most trusted and reliable platforms, one may define essential security
aspects, which are obligatory for implementation.
Multi factor authentication
Most Bitcoin exchanges employ this strategy to add another level of security to their systems and thus
set additional barriers for intruders. To access the wallet a user needs to go through several phases of
the verification process to be approved by the system. Authentication credentials include information
about something a user knows, possesses and is identified by. Generally, the user identity is validated
after providing a proof in the form of a secret token or one time code together with his username and a
password.
Multisignature
To make Bitcoin transactions safe and hard to intercept, it is essential to apply multi signature
approach. This technology requires the participation of several users while transferring bitcoins from
one account to another. The transaction is finalized only when all involved users confirm it with a

The Importance Of Executive Orders
Executive orders have been an influential part of America dating back to George Washington. There
are now more than 1300 numbered executive orders since the early 1900s. Not including the ones
unnumbered, lost, or not on record (Mott, Ph.D. Jonathan D.). Executive orders influence and affect
the executive branch, the Constitution, presidents, and our personal opinion. An executive order is a
presidential directive to a federal government agency or agencies that implement or interpret a federal
statute, a congressional provision, or a treaty (Magleby, David B). Executive orders do not require
congressional approval meaning the President does not have to run his order through Congress to get
it passed. However, Congress and Federal courts can annul any executive order that surpasses the
president s authority. The president expresses his executive authority by signing an executive order
that Congress wouldn t pass, which is why it s so controversial. Executive orders are controversial
because people believe it provides the executive branch with too much power, which contradicts the
Constitution. Many people believe Congress should be able to oversee the procedures and orders the
president is signing. Additionally, Checks and Balances and the Separation of Powers doctrine limits
the authority of each branch. However, in the Constitution, it says the president can issue an executive
order without congressional approval. For the president to issue such orders, it must come

Comparative Rhetorical Analysis Of Andy Stern
Comparative Rhetorical Analysis
Everyone views things a little differently, therefore different writers have different perspectives about
different subject matter. For example, while Andy Stern s stance is that technology will one day take
over the jobs of the working class Dean Baker thinks it has nothing to do with the rise in technology at
all and more to do with generating demand through government deficits. The way Stern successfully
incorporates ethos, pathos, and logos in his piece of writing is more appropriate and effective in
accomplishing rhetorical purpose than Baker s writing.
Ethos is basically the authors credibility, the reader must decide if the author of the writing is
trustworthy and believable. Pathos is how to author appeals

Corruption is nothing new, nor is it peculiar to any particular context. It takes place in greater or lesser
degree in all countries of the world, irrespective of political and economic system, big or small,
developed or developing. However, in a developing country like Bangladesh its impacts are most
unbearable. Corruption has become a key issue of public interest in Bangladesh not merely because of
the annual Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI) published by Transparency International which has for
the fifth successive year ranked Bangladesh at the bottom of the list, but more importantly because of
the way corruption affects the lives of the common people. Irrespective of whether Bangladesh ranks
at the bottom or higher in international comparison, there is a widespread public concern in the
country about a pervasive presence of corruption. All the major political parties recognize corruption

Antigua American Culture
Prior to European discovery and colonization, Antigua had been inhabited by a group of Amerindian
peoples called the Carib. These people had their own distinct culture and way of life which was
destroyed when they were forced into slavery by the Europeans. At the beginning of the West African
slave trade, Africans from places such as Sierra Leone, Gold Coast, and Dahomy were bought,
sometimes stolen and brought to Antigua. From the point of introduction the number of west African
slaves in Antigua grew steadily. Whereas in 1670 there was only 570 slaves, at the height of slavery in
1800 there was 37,000 slaves. The Europeans tried all they could to stifle the culture and cut out the

American Imperialism
Although imperialism was certainly driven by the desire for economic gain, trade, and the demand for
new raw materials, it is a bit unfair to contend that imperialism was driven by only economic and
strategic interests; likewise, imperialism was greatly impacted by non economic concepts such as
nationalism, civilization, and cultural diffusion. Nevertheless, Imperialism is defined as the policy of
expanding a country s power and influence through diplomacy or military force.
Firstly, imperialism was heavily affected by imperialism, especially in its initial stages. Many
imperialist nations during the age of expiration sought to conquer islands before their competitors
could. For instance, countries such as Spain and Portugal competed to see ... Show more content on

European powers additionally clung to the racist belief that inferior races should be conquered in order
to civilize and educate them. Another instance of conquests based on ethnocentrism include that of the
United States and the Philippine islands. Imperial nations often believed that their cultural
values/beliefs were far more superior, and thus they believed that imperial conquest would bring
successful culture to these inferior people. In other words, the Europeans acted on their ethnocentrism,
the belief that one race/nation is superior to others. As for the US invasion of the Philippine islands,
the Americans actions are depicted in a poem named The White Man s Burden that justifies
imperialism as a noble enterprise of civilization, conceptually related to the American Philosophy of
Manifest Destiny. As for manifest destiny, it was a widely held belied in the United States that its
settlers were destined to expand across North America. This concept is illustrated through 3 basic
themes: 1) The special virtues of the American people and their institutions. 2) The mission of the
United States to redeem and remake the west in the image of agrarian America. This is seen in the
Spanish American war, whereby the United States ended Spanish colonial rule in the Americas and
resulted in U.S. acquisition of territories in the Western Pacific and Latin America. Following this
conflict, the Americans took over Cuba and created a naval base, believing that Cuba owed them for

The poem is an apology to her parents.
In the first two stanzas, she is talking directly to her parents. The speaker is apologizing to her parents
for the work that she placed out and saying she is sorry for not doing better than what she had just
done. I apologize/ for disappointing you. is her saying she is sorry. She also said three lines over and
over again, which were not good enough , not pretty enough , and not smart enough . Those three
things made her not feel she was good enough and it psyched her bad enough to not continue with life.
At the end of the second stanza, she says in my father s dream which automatically shows that she is
doing it for her family. She was given an opportunity to bring more honor to her family by going to
college and graduating it, but sadly she was not able to get that far. She thinks that she brought
dishonor to her family by not being able to keep her perfect four point grade average. It is not easy at
all to keep it there so she must have done a great job to get that far, but not even that was able to

Some of the strategies that can be applied include inviting all stakeholders to join the quest for new
ideas, involving the theme park customers in the exercise of generating new ideas, involving suppliers
and benchmarking the methods of idea creation. First, the appreciation of various stakeholders in the
idea generating process will mean that the company has to empower its employees. Employees will
act as the link between the end consumer and the internal organizational operations. The management
will have to rely on the advice given by their lower level employees who frequently engage with the
customers. The top management should not participate in new product developments unless they are
part of the customer interaction team. Seeking ideas from customers is better than brainstorming
sessions. Nintendo and Universal could develop focus groups or groups of advisory boards formed by
key customers. These key customers could be a demographic of individuals who buy latest product
offerings or are a loyal fan base. Additionally, vendors are key since the company too is a customer to

In the early stages of the war, the fastest route to advancement in the military for women was service
in medical and auxiliary units.
Pilots
For Soviet women aviators, instrumental to this change was Marina Raskova, a famous Russian
aviatrix, often referred to as the Russian Amelia Earhart . Raskova became famous as both a pilot and
a navigator in the 1930s. She was the first woman to become a navigator in the Soviet Air Force in
1933. A year later she started teaching at the Zhukovskii Air Academy, also a first for a woman. When
World War II broke out, there were numerous women who had training as pilots and many
immediately volunteered. While there were no formal restrictions on women serving in combat roles,
their applications tended to be blocked, run through red tape, etc. for as long as possible in order to
discourage them from seeing combat. Raskova is credited with using her personal connections with
Joseph Stalin to convince the military to form three combat regiments for women. Not only would the
women be pilots, but the support staff and engineers for these regiments were women. The Soviet
Union was the first nation to allow women pilots to fly combat missions. These regiments flew a
combined total of more than 30,000 combat sorties, produced at least thirty Heroes of the Soviet

Charles Manson s Influence On Society
In almost all lists of famous serial killers, probably the most mentioned among them all is Charles
Manson. With more than 35 documented killings and a cult of disciple murderers, Manson has become
the living embodiment that the devil walks on earth. But what has made this troubled youth into one of
America s feared monsters?
Charles Manson was born on November 12, 1934. Named Charles Milles Maddox, he was born and
raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, to a teenage mom, Kathleen Maddox. His alcoholic and prostitute mother
soon married William Manson but the marriage was short lived. His mother did not want anything to
do with the boy and this pushed him to live on the streets and fend for himself. Pretty soon, Charles
turned to petty crime to survive. By the time he was in his late teens, Charles was introduced to a life
in prison.
Charles met a girl in 1955 whom he married and brought with him to California. There, she became
pregnant and Charles was back into his life of petty crimes leading him to another time in prison in
1956. The young wife eventually left him after a year. After being released, Charles turned to other
crimes such as pimping, using stolen checks and conning a woman of her money. While on probation,
he met a prostitute Candy Stevens, who bore him a second child. By 1960, he was arrested for his
crimes and was sent to a Washington penitentiary.

My Language Are The Limits Of My World
It is argued that the human species are a class of animal. However, the distinctive characteristic that
makes us unique, which makes humans different from all other species, is our ability to use complex
language. Language is thought of as multi sensory, containing not only the verbal and writing, but also
touch, smell, sound, and body elements. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural
instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result,
learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. Language is the device used for

been more or less thrown away. The idea itself originated with the traditional notion that all migrations
came from Asia. Throughout the past few decades the trend of opinion has swayed in favor of Eastern
or Central Europe being the original homeland of this language. Some scholars proclaim that this
birthplace was someplace close to Scandinavia and the neighboring parts of northern and central

This idea is based on a study conducted of the Indo European vocabulary. If specific vocabulary terms

Engage Chicago Essay
1. Why do you want to participate in Engage Chicago?
It was curiosity, and a recommendation from an upper classman, that brought me to the Engage
Chicago informational meeting. When I first walked in, I did not know what to expect. I only knew
that over the summer, I wanted to do something that involved helping people and making a difference
in the community as well as stepping out of my comfort zone and exploring new experiences. Engage
Chicago provides a perfect opportunity to achieve my goals for the summer. There is a wide range of
nonprofit organizations students can choose to apply and intern at, depending on each individual
interests. From programing at a local YMCA to assisting at a pediatric cancer center, there are

Installing A Wireless Sensor Network Essay
INTRODUCTION A Wireless Sensor Network or WSN is supposed to be made up of a large number
of sensors and at least one base station. The sensors are autonomous small devices with several
constraints like the battery power, computation capacity, communication range and memory. They also
are supplied with transceivers to gather information from its environment and pass it on up to a certain
base station, where the measured parameters can be stored and available for the end user. In most
cases, the sensors forming these networks are deployed randomly and left unattended to and are
expected to perform their mission properly and efficiently. As a result of this random deployment, the
WSN has usually varying degrees of node density along its area. Sensor networks are also energy
constrained since the individual sensors, which the network is formed with, are extremely energy
constrained as well. The communication devices on these sensors are small and have limited power
and range. Both the probably difference of node density among some regions of the network and the
energy constraint of the sensor nodes cause nodes slowly die making the network less dense. Also it is
quite common to deploy WSNs in harsh environment, what makes many sensors inoperable or faulty.
For that reason, these networks need to be fault tolerant so that the need for maintenance is minimized.
Typically the network topology is continuously and dynamically changing, and it is actually not a
desired solution to

Geography Of The Indian Subcontinent
Geography of the Indian subcontinent influenced the development of civilization there greatly,
because of how diverse India is. The geography of the Indian subcontinent had a big affect not only
with the development of civilization, but on economics, religion and social order as well. The Indian
subcontinent is diverse in many ways, such as the array of languages, as well as the reputation of
being a cradle of religion which created two of the world s major religions, Hinduism and
Buddhism(p. 38). For example, in civilizations such as the Harappan civilization the political and
social structures were affected by the geography of where their civilization resided. In several
respects, Harappan civilization closely resembled the cultures of Mesopotamia and the Nile Valley (p.
39). The resemblance resembled closely, because of how the civilizations probably started out being
farming villages and slowly grew into a large city. The city that was considered the center of power
was the city of Harappa. The city of Harappa was surrounded by a brick wall over 40 feet thick at its
base and more than 3.5 miles in circumference (p. 39). With this city of power archaeological
evidence suggest that the social structures were a loose confederation made up of more than 1500
cities connected by commerce and trade alliances and ruled by the wealthy merchants and landlords.
The economy of this era was primary based on agriculture such as, wheat barley, rice, and peas being
the primary

Desmond Doss As A Hero Essay
A man named Patrick Stewart once said: There are times, sir, when men of good conscience cannot
blindly follow orders. And Desmond Doss as a Conscientious Objector did not follow orders to pick
up his rifle and kill to serve his country during WWII. He decided to serve his country in a different
way, to serve as a medic and to save lives instead of taking them and never to pick up a weapon to
violate God s commandment that thou shalt not kill. And even without a weapon Desmond was able to
save 75 men, and I admire Desmond for holding to his beliefs and being a true hero. Desmond could
have easily retreated down the face of Hacksaw Ridge with the rest of his squadron and left those men
up there, but he didn t. Every single time he went to rescue another person he was putting his own life
on the line. Desmond Doss was a true hero who saved so many lives during ... Show more content on

I expected them to be more tolerant of his beliefs and understand that he could not allow himself to
take the life of another human being because God s commandment says not to. But if I have learned
anything from this class is that war and hard times influences human behavior and decision making
for the worst. Where things would normally be tolerated, they are not tolerated during a war, and
sometimes peoples rights can be discarded such as with the Japanese Internment Camps, and Sacco
and Vanzetti. I was very satisfied with the movie when Desmond s right to abide his beliefs was
granted during his court martial, and they dropped the charges of insubordination. I also loved how
Desmond pleaded not guilty during his court martial, he never used his beliefs as an excuse or
compromised by using a gun. And when they tried to Section 8 him as being mentally ill, he continued
to stand by his beliefs saying that there is nothing crazy about believing in God and abiding by his

Racism In To Kill A Mockingbird And The Black Eyed Peas
58% of Americans believe that racism is still a big problem in the world even though there are hate
crime laws in America that are supposed to solve problems of racism. In the book, To Kill a
Mockingbird, Harper Lee invited two innocent children, Jem and Scout to the real world situation of
social injustice. Where there is a guy that was punished for doing nothing wrong, maybe the reason is
that he is different from others, different by race. This essay will be comparing and contrasting To Kill
A Mockingbird to a song by the Black Eyed Peas, Where is the Love, where it is about social
injustices, but the people in this world need to stand up to all the negativity and spread positivity
instead. Though Harper Lee and the Black Eyed Peas both demonstrate the fight for justice, Harper
Lee utilizes social injustices and symbolism; whereas, the Black Eyed Peas apply anadiplosis and
lyrical diction.
Harper used Miss Maudie to foreshadow what may happen to the people in this town if racism is still
alive. In the beginning, Miss. Maudie mentioned about the mockingbird which may refer to the
scenery that is taking place in the present and in the future. The people in Maycomb know about the
mockingbird phrase, but they never knew the full depth meaning behind it, they only focus on the
literal meaning of not killing an actual mockingbird. The mockingbird phrase is on page 119, Shoot all

Essay On Complex Engineering Systems
Complex engineering systems involve uncertain nature (in analysis, design, production and
operational phases) as well as multidisciplinary essence. Studies show that about 40% of failures are
due to lack of attention to uncertainties in the design phase and rest of failures depends on other
factors such as production phase, operational condition, and etc. so considering uncertainties are
unavoidable in the analysis and design of these systems. In general, uncertainties are divided into two
groups: aleatory uncertainty and epistemic uncertainty. Aleatory uncertainty describes the interior and
or environmental variations of physical systems. Epistemic uncertainty is due to inaccuracy in the
modeling process because of lack of knowledge in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The decision maker can evaluate system performance and robustness by analyzing the Pareto frontier
variations due to uncertainties. As well as, the designer can distinguish the favorable or high risk
regions of design space. The robust design of structures is formulated as a multi criteria optimization
problem wherein both mean value and the standard deviation of the objective function are minimized
[4]. In this reference, the two criterion optimization problem is converted into single optimization
problem and is solved by a gradient based optimization algorithm. Jaeger et al. [8] proposed a
procedure for reliable and robust optimization of an aircraft at the conceptual design phase. The main
advantage of this approach is that it permits designers to update uncertainties from the historical
database at each step of optimization. To reduce the computational cost, response surface
approximations are constructed by Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS). Jafarsalehi et al. [9] has
implemented deterministic and nondeterministic approaches in the design of Remote Sensing
Satellites (RSS) under uncertainty. In this reference, a composition of multidisciplinary design
optimization and reliability based design optimization methods was introduced. MCS used for
uncertainty modeling. Multidisciplinary Design Feasible (MDF), Collaborative Optimization (CO),

Rhetorical Devices In Born To Run
Rhetorical Analysis You cannot escape the responsibility of tomorrow by evading it today , says
former president Abraham Lincoln. An example of someone wanting to escape reality is
communicated in the song Born to Run by Bruce Springsteen. The song is about Springsteen wanting
to run away from his town away from the life of hard labor. The musician s use of rhetorical appeals is
successfully displayed in Born to Run. In terms of logos, Springsteen partially uses logical fallacies to
generalize people. To start, the musician effectively generalizes a group of people. In the first stanza,
he says, In the day we sweat it out on the streets of a runaway American dream (1). Springsteen
successfully creates a generalization by using the word ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The musician evokes fear in the audience. In the first stanza, he says, this town rips the bones from
your back, it s a death trap/It s a suicide rap (4 5). Springsteen successfully induces fear in the

word suicide reflects that he is unhappy with his life. He also uses the word trap to create a feeling of
not being able to escape the dangers that surround him. On the other hand, the musician evokes
sympathy in the audience. In the second stanza, the musician says, Cause baby I m just a scared and
lonely rider but I gotta know how it feels (10). Springsteen effectively evokes the feeling of sympathy
among the audience by using the word scared. He shows that he is afraid of missing out and not being
able to experience the feeling of love. Using the word lonely also shows that he feels empty if he

Comparing Dynastic China And Ancient Egypt
Introduction:
Looking over the shoulder of history, Dynastic China and Egypt were perhaps two of the most
substantial, long lasting, and abiding civilizations. A dynasty is simply defined as a succession of
rulers from the same family. The ancient Egyptian dynasty was present from about 3100 to 332 BC. It
was ruled in the Arab Republic of Egypt. Ancient dynastic China, which lasted from about 1000 BC to
500 AD, lay in the Yellow River Valley. It can be seen that both of these societies shared quite a few
cultural similarities. For example, in Egypt, as well as China, polytheism was a dominant religious
belief. Also, they were both primarily well developed in technology and tools. Egypt had developed
many apparatuses such as the 365 day ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But, they definitely were not limited to simply working the home. There were many professions and
jobs offered to women at the time. It also should be noted that the range of jobs that were available for
them were based on social class rather than gender. On top of working within the home, attending to
household chores and caring for their children, the lower class women of the ancient Egyptian society
also had the duty of working outside tending livestock and in the fields, especially during harvest.
Occupations such as skilled weavers, mourners, musicians, stewards, composers, singers, dancers,
beer brewers, and bakers were also accessible to women of any social class. Educated or wealthy
women were offered professional positions such as administrators, priestesses, or supervisors. In some
instances, they became judges, overseers, governors, doctors, or even prime ministers because of their
ability to read and write. If a woman held the same job as a man, she received the same income and
rations as a man received for the work, and so her wages made an important contribution to the family
s wealth. Unlike the Egyptian women s broad range of career options, the average Chinese women s
work centered primarily on the home. Tasks such as preparing food, cleaning and looking after
children were the norm for the majority of women in ancient China. They were expected to have many
children and most women felt the pressure to bear a son. It was common for women to take up manual
labour in the home. Spinning, weaving and sewing were common occupations. Some peasant women
worked in the fields with their husbands. As per the dominant religion of the time, Confucian, women
were inferior to men. Men and women were not equal in Confucius s eyes. The only real job in which
the ancient Chinese women had was to bear

Good and Bad Aspects of Floods
GOOD AND BAD ASPECTS OF FLOODS Flooding can be defined as occupancy by water in areas
that are normally dry. Flooding occur due to the effect of temporal level rise of rivers, lakes or other.
To some extent, flooding events can be controlled by man, depending on land use near the riverbeds.
The floods are mainly produced by the occurrence of prolonged heavy rain, such as during tropical
storms and hurricanes, coupled with local drainage difficulties caused by different causes, mainly by
the negligent action of people. But the floods have any positive aspect? Like most natural hazards,
floods can lead to loss of life and property damage, with great impact on public health that may take to
much time to recover. From 1980 2012, there were approximately 200 flood related events in the
world, in which 500,000 people, at least they died or were injured and 20 million lost their homes. In
terms of physical losses, floods are responsible for 40% of damage caused by natural disasters across
the property. According to its origin , floods are classified as rain floods, river floods and coastal
floods. Rainwater and river floods occur as a result of rainfall that occur when moisture in the seas ,
oceans and other large bodies of water , is transported to the land by the wind ; when ascending water
vapor and decrease its temperature , is presented in any of the following ways ; rain, snow or hail. The
process may arise due to the occurrence of hurricanes, normal wind ,

INTRODUCTION
3D printing has been used in different aspects of every field but mostly its application has been limited
to making prototypes. 3D printing versus Traditional Manufacturing techniques in almost every field
is still very debatable.
The last time a global survey for homelessness was attempted by the United Nations in 2005, an
estimated 100 million people were homeless worldwide. As many as 1.6 billion people lacked
adequate housing. [1] In the United States, on a single night in January 2015, 564,708 people were
experiencing homelessness meaning they were sleeping outside or in an emergency shelter or
transitional housing program. [2] In 2013, the Slum population in India went up from 52 million to 65
million and it has been predicted to rise to 104 million. [3] Looking at the statistics, the main cause for
homelessness could be contributed to the cost of affordable housing. Another example that could be
considered could be of people living in disaster prone areas where people lose their houses overnight.
In such scenarios, 3D printing could be a viable solution where houses could be printed in a couple of
days as compared to traditional construction methods where people need to seek out emergency
shelters till their houses are built. Also, 3D printing a house gives Architects ability to design and build
structures which are complex

Catastrophism And Uniformitarianism In Dating Earth
There can be many different views when we define the words of catastrophism and uniformitarianism.
They can be seen in many diverse ways from person to person. In the article Dating Earth, it
mentioned the background of the concept of uniformitarianism and catastrophism. People who had
biblical views were considered catastrophists and were known scientists who invoked supernatural
causes. Uniformitarianism is a concept that is viewed as gradual constant change, or no change at all.
This view can be debatable with catastrophism which is sudden or immediate change because a small
change over time that seems so constant can feel sudden at the same time. It depends how you view it
and see the picture in our histories time lapse. When we define constant we view it as a nice even
flow, but sometimes the flow can be higher at times and lower which can equal to the even gradual
concept of uniformitarianism while it can be viewed as a catastrophic event too because if we think
about the butterfly effect that small sudden change can be so unique and make big changes even
though it seemed small and equal like uniformitarianism. The Butterfly Effect mentioned how Lorenz
made a small change to his systems of equations which proved to be catastrophic even though the
numbers seemed very small to even make a difference. When we view uniformitarianism and
catastrophism they can both be true in context, but if you view it in a diverse way to include the small
changes uniformitarianism can

Source of Value Creation
While in table 2 is illustrated, where the additional value from an increased leverage is going, we now
have a closer look at where the change in value is coming from. For this purpose, we divide the free
cash flow of the firm into pure business flows and cash flows resulting from financing effects and
discount them at a consistent rate reflecting the cash flows risk.
As shown in table 3, the total value of cash flow is increasing if debt is augmented. It is also obvious
that this increase in value is generated by the cash flows resulting from financing effects. But how
does this gain come about? In fact, table 3 illustrates one of the most important theories in corporate
finance, which says that the value of a levered firm is equal to the value of an unlevered firm plus the
present value of the tax shield provided by debt (Copeland, Weston and Shastri, 2005, p. 562).
Since the tax authority treats interest going to the bondholders differently from the way it treats
earnings going to stockholders, there emerges a difference in the tax payment the firm has to fulfil.
Actually, the firm s tax payment is positively related to its debt, as the interest is not taken into
account by corporate taxation while earnings after interest but before taxes are taxed at the existing tax
rate (which in this case is 35%). The increased value of the total cash flow in table 3 arises therefore
from the so called tax shield associated

Essay The White Man s Burden and The Recessional
The White Man s Burden and The Recessional
In The White Man s Burden and in The Recessional , Kipling outlines his idealistic concept of empire
which is based on service and sacrifice.
England sends some of their best man to defend and help India. The white man has the mission to
civilize the Indians. It is their responsibility to culture them, to put them on the right path. They are
there to make India a better place to live and bring the population up to date on the style of living.

The Englishman is doing all of this for the native of the country, all for their good. The Indians won t
understand what the white man is doing for them; they will see the white man as a threat. The English
man will receive no gratitude or respect from the native.
The white man has to remember that they are not there to control the Indians or to take over the
country but they are their help them, to bring a better life to them. They will have to sacrifice a lot to
obtain what they want for the other culture. A lot of time and effort will have to be put in the mission.
A lot of sweat and blood will be lost during the journey but it will be all worth it. The British can not
let the power go to their heads; they are there to serve the native, to help them out, to bring them
closer to God.
I find that Kipling embellish a lot on the role/responsibility/mission of the man white. He made the
British look very good, even superior and made he native looks naives and helpless. The Indians are
seen as half devil and half child said word per word in the White Man s Burden . Kipling is making
the white man look better then he actually is. The British might actually though they where there to
help the natives out but in the end they used the Indians for their good, even though this is not said or
mention in the poems.
If people would think or act the way the British did back then I do not

Theme Of Love In Frankenstein
Throughout the novel, Frankenstein, many of the characters show the love that they have for each
other. It seemed as though love was one of the main aspects in the book and what seemed to hold a lot
of relationships together. Of course it is known for a mother or a father to love their children, but just
as they love their children, it is understood that they love each other just as much. Just how Victor
loved Elizabeth with what seemed to be every breath he took, and the monster loved Victor because
that was he creator, his father figure. No matter the pain that love may bring, it will always be one of
the main aspects of life.
Earlier in the novel, Victor states, Elizabeth had caught the scarlet fever; but her illness was not
severe, and she quickly recovered. During her confinement, many arguments had been urged to
persuade my mother to refrain from attending upon her. (...), she could no longer debar herself from
society, and entered her chamber longer debar herself from her society, and entered her chamber long
before the danger of the infection was passed. The consequences of this imprudence were fatal
(Shelley, 25). The mother was one of the first to show that the love of a guardian is one that should be
cherished because the actions will show much louder than words. Caroline would not sleep knowing
that her child was sick and the sickness could possibly kill her. The mother had soon gotten sick, but
she was not as fortunate as Elizabeth. A mother s love is a love that

Louisiana Purchase Influence
What makes the Louisiana Purchase such a defining moment in American history is the very fact that
many of us couldn t imagine our nation without it. Just think about it for a second: How different
would the history of the United States be if the nation s western boundary stopped at the Mississippi
River? It would change the very fabric of how Americans imagine themselves, how the economy of
the country works, and how the nation was shaped. Indeed, many of you reading this right now might
not have even been Americans if not for the Louisiana Purchase.
One of the most central events that influenced the Louisiana Purchase was the Haitian Revolution. The
revolution had started in 1791, when the slaves who had provided the labor on sugar plantations on the

the Spanish and English had begun sending troops to Saint Domingue, hoping to claim some of it for
themselves. So, in 1794, in an effort to keep Saint Domingue, the French decided they would abolish
slavery in all of their colonies. Soon after, Toussaint agreed to keep his supporters loyal to the French.

Modernization In Brave New World
Modernization and Brave New World Brave New World is a book written in 1932 by Aldous Huxley.
One of the more memorable aspects of Brave New World is its setting: a dystopian future where the
government regulates everything in society and all high art is banned. At the time the book was
written technology was rapidly advancing, so Huxley decided to let the quickly advancing world
shape the setting of Brave New World. Modernization heavily shapes Brave New World s setting. A
major comparison that can be made between Brave New World and the modern world is the similarity
between how babies are born in the book and the assembly line. Huxley describes the modern
fertilization process (Huxley 3) as if the eggs were moving down the assembly ... Show more content

When Brave New World was written, mass production, popularized by Henry Ford, had begun to gain
steam in the industrial world. Factories were now more efficient than ever, at the cost of any
uniqueness with the item being produced when compared to someone making items by hand. The
world of Brave New World runs a lot like that. Individuality is viewed as heavily shameful, and
Bernard Marx is repeatedly reprimanded over the course of the book for trying to be an individual
instead of part of society. For instance, he is described as Pretty harmless, perhaps; but also pretty
disquieting (Huxley 76) for having a fascination with doing things alone on his own time, which is
heavily discouraged. Instead, people are encouraged to spend as much time in public as possible, and
find comfort and solace in being part of a group rather than being their own person. This message is
seen in the motto of the World State, Community. Identity. Stability (Huxley 1). With the lack of
individualism in Brave New World, there comes a large amount of efficiency. From the moment they
are decanted, society in Brave New World tries to shape babies to what is needed. They are separated
into castes so that everyone is happy and productive in their job. Henry Foster mentions that We
decant our babies as socialized humans beings, as Alphas or Epsilons, as future sewage workers or
future ... Directors of Hatcheries. (Huxley 10) Once they are born, the hypnopaedic conditioning
determines everything about their lives in the future, from their likes and interests, to what friends
they will have, and to what values and morals they believe in. They are conditioned to consume and
purchase as much as possible to feed the economy and satisfy their own wants. Everything in the
World State is designed to be as productive as possible, while minimizing discontent to make sure that
society works as efficiently as it possibly

The Controversial Theory Of Evolution
The controversial theory of evolution has been prevalent in the minds of scientists, religious leaders,
and those who follow since Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace first made the ideas officially
known in 1858. The theory they proposed was that the universe and all organisms within it is
constantly changing and adapting to the world around them since the beginning of time. Since Darwin
s and Wallace s theories were shared, there has been constant disagreement and debate between the
science world and the religious world regarding evolution. Some science and religious advocates
agree that there is the possibility of both the scientific and religious beliefs on how the world came
about co exiting. However, some religious groups, like ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One of the many examples that support this idea that organisms evolve and change over time is the
finding of the Tiktaalik; though it is an unknown species it has traits that are similar to reptiles,
amphibians, and birds that exist today. Because of fossil findings like the Tiktaalik scientists no longer
have doubts about evolution and it s continuing occurrence (Alberto 2008).
In the 20th century, with the development of the science of genetics biologists began understanding
the mechanics of how traits are passed down to different generations and how they are altered through
the discovery of DNA and its major importance. They learned that parts of DNA from each parent are
passed down to the offspring. Mutations of DNA, which cause alterations of species, can also occur
when traits are being passed down to the offspring. Mutations in DNA can cause the offspring to have
difficulties surviving and eventually lead to the extinction of the species. On the other hand, mutation
of DNA can affect the offspring positively and change its traits to be stronger and a better survivor in
that certain environment which would eventually lead to a growth in population of the certain species.
Mutations in DNA can also be neutral and have no effect of the offspring s traits. This battle with
nature and survival through DNA lead to the foundation of the idea of Natural Selection (Alberto
2008). Natural selection is survival of the fittest , the

Georges Clemenceau also known as the Tiger and Father Victory , served as the French Prime
Minister during World War I. Clemenceau was born September 28, 1841 and died of natural causes on
November 29, 1929. Georges Clemenceau played an important role in World War I because he made
very critical decisions at the Paris Peace Conference, as well as in the Versailles Treaty and overall led
France through harsh times. Georges Benjamin Clemenceau was born in Mouilleron en Pareds,
France. His father, Benjamin, who was a political activist, is responsible for shaping Georges
inclination towards Catholic detest. Benjamin is also responsible for Georges meeting a group of men
who were plotting to overthrow emperor Napoleon III, as well as Jules Michelet, a historian. In 1861,
Georges and Benjamin went to Paris to study medicine. While in Paris, Georges met a man of the
republic opposition. This man created an association named Agis Comme Tu Penses, which in English
means Act As You Think. After Georges met this man, he founded Le Travail, which was a journal that
made his views on politics very clear. This journal ended up getting him arrested. After he was
released, he went to New York City. During his time in the United States, he began teaching an all

Taking a Look at Peripheral Neuropathy
Peripheral neuropathy is a fairly common neurological problem and is a generalized term that means
that there is a disorder in the peripheral nervous system. Being that this is a broad definition and
includes many varieties and causes of peripheral nerve disease, a proper diagnosis is needed for the
definition to be specified. The overall prevalence of the condition is about 2400 (2·4%) per 100 000
population, but in people older than 55 years, the prevalence rises to about 8000 (8%) per 100 000.
(Simpson, 2010) Yet this does not include traumatic peripheral nerve injuries meaning that the number
of peripheral neuropathy in our society is greater. In first world countries, the most common cause of
peripheral neuropathy is diabetes mellitus. Diabetes mellitus is a group of metabolic diseases
characterized by hyperglycemia resulting from defects in insulin secretion, insulin action, or both.
(Loganathan, 2006) Due to the fact that the diagnose of diabetes mellitus has increased in our general
population of the USA, the amount people in risk of diabetic peripheral neuropathy is also expected to
increase.
In our case we are dealing with diabetic peripheral neuropathy that results from nerve damage due to
the high blood glucose levels diabetics. About 60 to 70 percent of people who have had diabetes for
many years have some form of nerve damage, but not everyone has symptoms. (Inzucchi, 2012)
Common types of diabetic neuropathy are those that affect the limbs along with the

The Aborigines Used Red Ochre For The Rock Carvingsxvi
The Aborigines used a variety of art to share stories including rock carvings, body painting and ground
designs which date back to more than 30,000 years ago. The Aborigines used red ochre for the rock
carvingsxvi. A special place where you can see Aboriginal rock carvings is Dampier Archipelago in
Western Australia where the rock carvings are thought to number in the millions. There are three main
types of Aboriginal art. The first being engraved geometric figures. The second being silhouettes of
humans and animals. The last being detailed figured. These go in order and show the progression of
Aboriginal intelligence because of the increasing detail and meaning in the artxvii. The Aborigines
used mainly music, art, and oral stories to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Aborigines used stone tools for hunting and gathering. Because they did not domesticate animals
or begin to farm, they had no need for anything more than stone tools. They also did not need to focus
so much on technological advancements because their lives were centered around the land and the
religious significance it containedxx. However, the Aborigines still made many scientific
advancements. They created many stone tools to hunt and fish such as knives, scrapers, axe heads,
spears, various vessels for eating and drinking, and digging sticks. They were also the first group to
introduce ground edges on cutting tools and to grind seeds into an edible or medicinal pastexxi. The
Aborigines also created the boomerang, which is now known as a common toy which returns when
one throws it but at this time it was used as a hunting weaponxxii. Although they did not develop a
system of writing until the time of the Europeans, they did create very detailed myths, or stories about
the landscape with a deeper meaning, which were passed on through generations. However, they
mainly used art to express religious significancexxiii. As well as oral myths, they also created oral
maps which were used to navigate and trade along with using the stars. The Aborigines also developed
a sophisticated number system which was probably used to keep track of

The Battle Between Protecting Fine Art And Commercial Art
Exam #: 27676
There has been constant debate revolving around the distinction between a painting, and a mural. In
this case, a mural is a painting or other work of art executed directly on a wall. (Merriam Webster
Dictionary). In Pollara v. Seymour, the banner displayed inside the empire state plaza, was classified
as an advertisement and promotional work, rather than a work of art. However, why did congress
exclude certain works of art from being protected? The battle between protecting fine art and
commercial art has been an issue. The governing rule of society place a higher standard on fine art,
than art made for advertising or promotional purposes. As a society we grant specific works of visual
art protections based upon the fact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this case, a mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other large
permanent surface. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements
of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture. (Merriam Webster Dictionary).
Here, copyright law and state laws were the only legal protection that many artists relied upon. The
shift from moderate state laws to the federal policies of VARA created a tremendous impact on artists
protection. The Visual Artists Rights Act expanded the protection of the artists work, but also
recognized the artists work as property. Property ownership is tremendously important because it
gives the artists the power to have full control over the work of art they created. Congress passed the
Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 to protect the property or work of the artists . The general rule
governing our society is that the producer has dominion over property they originally created.
According to the facts, Diego s mural is clearly an original work he painted that incorporates outside
elements. However, do these outside elements play a substantial factor in determining whether Diego s
mural is considered a work of visual art, and should be protected under VARA? To make this
determination, a more in depth analysis of legal precedent, and the rule of law under VARA must be
taken in to consideration.
The singleness of the work,

A Rhetorical Analysis Of Rachel Carson s Silent Spring
Rachel Carson s Silent Spring, is arguably a seminal text of the environmental movement and
continues to impact on critical ecological discourse fifty years on. The late 1950 s were a period of
relative economic prosperity in the United States with a parallel baby boom following World War 2.
However, the Cold War between the United States and the Soviet Union manifested economic and
political rivalries during the same time. It was in this era, that Rachel Carson wrote Silent Spring
which invoked the public into an environmental consciousness (Griswold 2012). Inherent in Carson s
text, that fundamentally sought to inform the wider public about the biological dangers inherent in
pesticides, was her ability to utilise a variety of literary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is a duality of silence and silencing between victims and perpetrators, nature and humans,
public and government. The chemical toxins work silently through the food chain and accumulate and
magnify in human and non human bodies. Like the constant dripping of water that in turn wears away
the hardest stone, this birth to death contact with dangerous chemicals may well prove disastrous.
(Carson, 1962, 158). Carson is critical of both the advertising techniques of chemical companies,
lulled by the soft sell and the hidden persuader (Carson , 1962, 158) and government agencies
including the Federal Aviation Agency s assurances that planes spraying insecticide were authorized to
fly low. (Carson, 1962, 91) Carson compares chemical manufacturers to the infamous Borgias, who

Predestination Essay
Predestination
Predestination, in the dictionary, is said to be the doctrine that God in consequence of his
foreknowledge of all events infallibly guides those who are destined for salvation. Scripture has 2 very
good passages for defining what predestination is: Jeremiah 1:5 which says Before I formed you in the
womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
God is talking about Jeremiah in this passage and how God chose him before time; he was predestined
for his job. Romans 8:28 30 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love
God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did

That God decreed to leave some in the common misery and not to bestow on them living faith and the
grace of conversion. Calvin also believes that God predestined everything for everything that it does,
such that God predestined me to be writing this report right now for my religion class, so that this isn t
my own free will but it was God s set plan for me. Zanchius, a Reform Theologian, writes that there is
most certainly a double predestination and gives passages to prove through God s Word that there is
no other way. II Cor. 4:3 If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing. I Peter 2:8
They stumble because they disobey the message which is also what they were destined for. II Peter
2:12b #8230;They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed,
and like beasts they too will perish. Jude 1:4a For certain men who were marked out for condemnation
long ago have secretly slipped among you. He concludes his arguments by saying that God could not
erase a name that has been placed in the book of life or add a name because it was from eternity. He
quotes Luther with, This is the very thing that razes the doctrine of free will from its foundation, to
wit, that God s eternal love of some men and hatred of others is immutable and cannot be reversed.
The truth about predestination is that God gives man a free will that he doesn t take control of or
manipulate. So an unbeliever has a choice, he can either accept

  • 2. Abuse In Boy Gets Girl (Gilman 30). In other words, Theresa develops a clue as to what Tony does not understand, so the violent act does not come clearly through the play. It is only when she does not see him that she has more problems for herself. She is forced to consider cultural factor that may be contributing to her dilemma (Solomonson 202). Theresa is unsure how to proceed dealing with Tony after he leaves. Unlike the way Carol treats John demanding for answers, Tony is less present, only after the first date while Carol visits John two more time after their first initial encounter. In both cases, Carol and Tony represent how they undermine one s ability, in which John and Theresa are more concerned with themselves and they do no think about their surroundings. ... DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF MICROCONTROLLER BASED OVERCURRENT RELAY Siddhartha Yedida, Huseyin R Hiziroglu Electrical and computer Engineering Department, Kettering University Flint, Michigan, 48504 yedi2874@kettering.edu hhizirog@kettering.edu Abstract Over current in a power system is a situation when a larger than rated electric current exists through a conductor, leading to excessive generation of heat, and the risk of fire or damage to equipment Possible causes for over current include short circuits, excessive load, incorrect design, or a ground fault. This paper presents the design and implementation of a microcontroller based overcurrent relay for safe, reliable and efficient operation of power systems. Automated overcurrent protection is done by programming a Arduino (microcontroller) with standard ABB moderately inverse relay characteristics where the relay operates automatically in a permissible time whenever there is an over current (abnormal or fault condition) in a power system [2]. Keywords Current tap setting (CTS), time dial setting (TD), Electromechanical relay (EMR), Primary current (Ip), Secondary current (Is), Pick up current (Ipc), Multiple of Current tap setting (ki), Operation time (t) I. • 4. Features Of A Network Topology Essay 2.1 Topology: Actually here we are discussing about a network topology. A topology is the physical configuration of a network that determines how the network s computers are connected. The way in which constituent parts are arranged. The physical topology of a network is the actual geometric layout of workstations. There are several common physical topologies based on the configuration. They are Star Topology, Ring Topology, Buss Topology, Mesh Topology, Hybrid Topology and Tree Topology. 2.2 Star Topology: Star topology is one of the most common network setups. In this arrangement, every node connects to a central hub, switch or computer; the hub acting as a server and the peripheral devices as clients. A major disadvantage of this network topology is that if the central hub fails, all of the connected devices are disconnected. In a star network layout, each workstation is connected by its own cable directly to the server. Star networks are usually the layout of choice in schools and offices because they tend to be the most reliable of the topologies. The visual example shows how this setup gets its name as it is shaped very much like a star. FIGURE 2.1: Star Topology Advantages: Star networks are very reliable. If one connection fails, it does not affect other users Very few data collisions as each workstation has its own cable to the server Good security no workstation can interact with another without going through the server first Easy to install ... • 8. The Importance Of Executive Orders Executive orders have been an influential part of America dating back to George Washington. There are now more than 1300 numbered executive orders since the early 1900s. Not including the ones unnumbered, lost, or not on record (Mott, Ph.D. Jonathan D.). Executive orders influence and affect the executive branch, the Constitution, presidents, and our personal opinion. An executive order is a presidential directive to a federal government agency or agencies that implement or interpret a federal statute, a congressional provision, or a treaty (Magleby, David B). Executive orders do not require congressional approval meaning the President does not have to run his order through Congress to get it passed. However, Congress and Federal courts can annul any executive order that surpasses the president s authority. The president expresses his executive authority by signing an executive order that Congress wouldn t pass, which is why it s so controversial. Executive orders are controversial because people believe it provides the executive branch with too much power, which contradicts the Constitution. Many people believe Congress should be able to oversee the procedures and orders the president is signing. Additionally, Checks and Balances and the Separation of Powers doctrine limits the authority of each branch. However, in the Constitution, it says the president can issue an executive order without congressional approval. For the president to issue such orders, it must come ... American Imperialism Although imperialism was certainly driven by the desire for economic gain, trade, and the demand for new raw materials, it is a bit unfair to contend that imperialism was driven by only economic and strategic interests; likewise, imperialism was greatly impacted by non economic concepts such as nationalism, civilization, and cultural diffusion. Nevertheless, Imperialism is defined as the policy of expanding a country s power and influence through diplomacy or military force. A year later she started teaching at the Zhukovskii Air Academy, also a first for a woman. When World War II broke out, there were numerous women who had training as pilots and many immediately volunteered. While there were no formal restrictions on women serving in combat roles, their applications tended to be blocked, run through red tape, etc. for as long as possible in order to discourage them from seeing combat. Raskova is credited with using her personal connections with Joseph Stalin to convince the military to form three combat regiments for women. Not only would the women be pilots, but the support staff and engineers for these regiments were women. The Soviet Union was the first nation to allow women pilots to fly combat missions. These regiments flew a combined total of more than 30,000 combat sorties, produced at least thirty Heroes of the Soviet Union, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

With more than 35 documented killings and a cult of disciple murderers, Manson has become the living embodiment that the devil walks on earth. But what has made this troubled youth into one of America s feared monsters? Charles Manson was born on November 12, 1934. Named Charles Milles Maddox, he was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, to a teenage mom, Kathleen Maddox. His alcoholic and prostitute mother soon married William Manson but the marriage was short lived. His mother did not want anything to do with the boy and this pushed him to live on the streets and fend for himself. Pretty soon, Charles turned to petty crime to survive. By the time he was in his late teens, Charles was introduced to a life in prison. Charles met a girl in 1955 whom he married and brought with him to California. There, she became pregnant and Charles was back into his life of petty crimes leading him to another time in prison in 1956. The young wife eventually left him after a year. After being released, Charles turned to other crimes such as pimping, using stolen checks and conning a woman of her money. While on probation, he met a prostitute Candy Stevens, who bore him a second child. By 1960, he was arrested for his crimes and was sent to a Washington penitentiary. As humans are very social beings, people have the natural instinct to connect and communicate with others, to share our emotions and ideas, and as a result, learning a language becomes an instinct for each individual. • 25. Installing A Wireless Sensor Network Essay INTRODUCTION A Wireless Sensor Network or WSN is supposed to be made up of a large number of sensors and at least one base station. The sensors are autonomous small devices with several constraints like the battery power, computation capacity, communication range and memory. They also are supplied with transceivers to gather information from its environment and pass it on up to a certain base station, where the measured parameters can be stored and available for the end user. In most cases, the sensors forming these networks are deployed randomly and left unattended to and are expected to perform their mission properly and efficiently. As a result of this random deployment, the WSN has usually varying degrees of node density along its area. Sensor networks are also energy constrained since the individual sensors, which the network is formed with, are extremely energy constrained as well. The communication devices on these sensors are small and have limited power and range. Both the probably difference of node density among some regions of the network and the energy constraint of the sensor nodes cause nodes slowly die making the network less dense. Also it is quite common to deploy WSNs in harsh environment, what makes many sensors inoperable or faulty. For that reason, these networks need to be fault tolerant so that the need for maintenance is minimized. Typically the network topology is continuously and dynamically changing, and it is actually not a desired solution to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The geography of the Indian subcontinent had a big affect not only with the development of civilization, but on economics, religion and social order as well. The Indian subcontinent is diverse in many ways, such as the array of languages, as well as the reputation of being a cradle of religion which created two of the world s major religions, Hinduism and Buddhism(p. 38). For example, in civilizations such as the Harappan civilization the political and social structures were affected by the geography of where their civilization resided. In several respects, Harappan civilization closely resembled the cultures of Mesopotamia and the Nile Valley (p. 39). The resemblance resembled closely, because of how the civilizations probably started out being farming villages and slowly grew into a large city. The city that was considered the center of power was the city of Harappa. The city of Harappa was surrounded by a brick wall over 40 feet thick at its base and more than 3.5 miles in circumference (p. 39). With this city of power archaeological evidence suggest that the social structures were a loose confederation made up of more than 1500 cities connected by commerce and trade alliances and ruled by the wealthy merchants and landlords. In the book, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harper Lee invited two innocent children, Jem and Scout to the real world situation of social injustice. Where there is a guy that was punished for doing nothing wrong, maybe the reason is that he is different from others, different by race. This essay will be comparing and contrasting To Kill A Mockingbird to a song by the Black Eyed Peas, Where is the Love, where it is about social injustices, but the people in this world need to stand up to all the negativity and spread positivity instead. Though Harper Lee and the Black Eyed Peas both demonstrate the fight for justice, Harper Lee utilizes social injustices and symbolism; whereas, the Black Eyed Peas apply anadiplosis and lyrical diction. Harper used Miss Maudie to foreshadow what may happen to the people in this town if racism is still alive. In the beginning, Miss. Maudie mentioned about the mockingbird which may refer to the scenery that is taking place in the present and in the future. In this reference, the two criterion optimization problem is converted into single optimization problem and is solved by a gradient based optimization algorithm. Jaeger et al. Occupations such as skilled weavers, mourners, musicians, stewards, composers, singers, dancers, beer brewers, and bakers were also accessible to women of any social class. Educated or wealthy women were offered professional positions such as administrators, priestesses, or supervisors. Flooding occur due to the effect of temporal level rise of rivers, lakes or other. To some extent, flooding events can be controlled by man, depending on land use near the riverbeds. The floods are mainly produced by the occurrence of prolonged heavy rain, such as during tropical storms and hurricanes, coupled with local drainage difficulties caused by different causes, mainly by the negligent action of people. But the floods have any positive aspect? Like most natural hazards, floods can lead to loss of life and property damage, with great impact on public health that may take to much time to recover. From 1980 2012, there were approximately 200 flood related events in the world, in which 500,000 people, at least they died or were injured and 20 million lost their homes. They can be seen in many diverse ways from person to person. In the article Dating Earth, it mentioned the background of the concept of uniformitarianism and catastrophism. People who had biblical views were considered catastrophists and were known scientists who invoked supernatural causes. Uniformitarianism is a concept that is viewed as gradual constant change, or no change at all. This view can be debatable with catastrophism which is sudden or immediate change because a small change over time that seems so constant can feel sudden at the same time. It depends how you view it and see the picture in our histories time lapse. When we define constant we view it as a nice even flow, but sometimes the flow can be higher at times and lower which can equal to the even gradual concept of uniformitarianism while it can be viewed as a catastrophic event too because if we think about the butterfly effect that small sudden change can be so unique and make big changes even though it seemed small and equal like uniformitarianism. The Butterfly Effect mentioned how Lorenz made a small change to his systems of equations which proved to be catastrophic even though the numbers seemed very small to even make a difference. Source of Value Creation While in table 2 is illustrated, where the additional value from an increased leverage is going, we now have a closer look at where the change in value is coming from. For this purpose, we divide the free cash flow of the firm into pure business flows and cash flows resulting from financing effects and discount them at a consistent rate reflecting the cash flows risk. As shown in table 3, the total value of cash flow is increasing if debt is augmented. It is also obvious that this increase in value is generated by the cash flows resulting from financing effects. But how does this gain come about? In fact, table 3 illustrates one of the most important theories in corporate finance, which says that the value of a levered firm is equal to the value of an unlevered firm plus the present value of the tax shield provided by debt (Copeland, Weston and Shastri, 2005, p. 562). Since the tax authority treats interest going to the bondholders differently from the way it treats earnings going to stockholders, there emerges a difference in the tax payment the firm has to fulfil. Actually, the firm s tax payment is positively related to its debt, as the interest is not taken into account by corporate taxation while earnings after interest but before taxes are taxed at the existing tax

A lot of sweat and blood will be lost during the journey but it will be all worth it. The British can not let the power go to their heads; they are there to serve the native, to help them out, to bring them closer to God. I find that Kipling embellish a lot on the role/responsibility/mission of the man white. He made the British look very good, even superior and made he native looks naives and helpless. The Indians are seen as half devil and half child said word per word in the White Man s Burden . Kipling is making the white man look better then he actually is. The British might actually though they where there to help the natives out but in the end they used the Indians for their good, even though this is not said or mention in the poems. • 39. Theme Of Love In Frankenstein Throughout the novel, Frankenstein, many of the characters show the love that they have for each other. It seemed as though love was one of the main aspects in the book and what seemed to hold a lot of relationships together. Of course it is known for a mother or a father to love their children, but just as they love their children, it is understood that they love each other just as much. Just how Victor loved Elizabeth with what seemed to be every breath he took, and the monster loved Victor because that was he creator, his father figure. No matter the pain that love may bring, it will always be one of the main aspects of life. Earlier in the novel, Victor states, Elizabeth had caught the scarlet fever; but her illness was not severe, and she quickly recovered. During her confinement, many arguments had been urged to persuade my mother to refrain from attending upon her. (...), she could no longer debar herself from society, and entered her chamber longer debar herself from her society, and entered her chamber long before the danger of the infection was passed. The consequences of this imprudence were fatal (Shelley, 25). The mother was one of the first to show that the love of a guardian is one that should be cherished because the actions will show much louder than words. Caroline would not sleep knowing that her child was sick and the sickness could possibly kill her. The mother had soon gotten sick, but she was not as fortunate as Elizabeth. • 40. Louisiana Purchase Influence What makes the Louisiana Purchase such a defining moment in American history is the very fact that many of us couldn t imagine our nation without it. Just think about it for a second: How different would the history of the United States be if the nation s western boundary stopped at the Mississippi River? It would change the very fabric of how Americans imagine themselves, how the economy of the country works, and how the nation was shaped. Indeed, many of you reading this right now might not have even been Americans if not for the Louisiana Purchase. One of the most central events that influenced the Louisiana Purchase was the Haitian Revolution. The revolution had started in 1791, when the slaves who had provided the labor on sugar plantations on the French colony of Saint Domingue (as Haiti was called) revolted against slavery. Led by the brilliant general Toussaint LOuverture, the former slaves controlled a third of the colony within a year. Soon, the French realized that they might lose Saint Domingue as a colony altogether, something many Frenchmen felt would be a disaster to the French economy, as the sugar plantations on the island had filled the French treasury for years. The French were right to fear this. As the rebellion escalated, the Spanish and English had begun sending troops to Saint Domingue, hoping to claim some of it for themselves. So, in 1794, in an effort to keep Saint Domingue, the French decided they would abolish slavery in all of their colonies. Soon after, Toussaint agreed to keep his supporters loyal to the French. • 44. Modernization In Brave New World Modernization and Brave New World Brave New World is a book written in 1932 by Aldous Huxley. One of the more memorable aspects of Brave New World is its setting: a dystopian future where the government regulates everything in society and all high art is banned. At the time the book was written technology was rapidly advancing, so Huxley decided to let the quickly advancing world shape the setting of Brave New World. Modernization heavily shapes Brave New World s setting. A major comparison that can be made between Brave New World and the modern world is the similarity between how babies are born in the book and the assembly line. Huxley describes the modern fertilization process (Huxley 3) as if the eggs were moving down the assembly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... When Brave New World was written, mass production, popularized by Henry Ford, had begun to gain steam in the industrial world. Factories were now more efficient than ever, at the cost of any uniqueness with the item being produced when compared to someone making items by hand. The world of Brave New World runs a lot like that. Individuality is viewed as heavily shameful, and Bernard Marx is repeatedly reprimanded over the course of the book for trying to be an individual instead of part of society. For instance, he is described as Pretty harmless, perhaps; but also pretty disquieting (Huxley 76) for having a fascination with doing things alone on his own time, which is heavily discouraged. Instead, people are encouraged to spend as much time in public as possible, and find comfort and solace in being part of a group rather than being their own person. This message is seen in the motto of the World State, Community. Identity. Stability (Huxley 1). With the lack of individualism in Brave New World, there comes a large amount of efficiency. From the moment they are decanted, society in Brave New World tries to shape babies to what is needed. They are separated into castes so that everyone is happy and productive in their job. Henry Foster mentions that We decant our babies as socialized humans beings, as Alphas or Epsilons, as future sewage workers or future ... Directors of Hatcheries. The Controversial Theory Of Evolution The controversial theory of evolution has been prevalent in the minds of scientists, religious leaders, and those who follow since Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace first made the ideas officially known in 1858. The theory they proposed was that the universe and all organisms within it is constantly changing and adapting to the world around them since the beginning of time. Since Darwin s and Wallace s theories were shared, there has been constant disagreement and debate between the science world and the religious world regarding evolution. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One of the many examples that support this idea that organisms evolve and change over time is the finding of the Tiktaalik; though it is an unknown species it has traits that are similar to reptiles, amphibians, and birds that exist today. Because of fossil findings like the Tiktaalik scientists no longer have doubts about evolution and it s continuing occurrence (Alberto 2008). In the 20th century, with the development of the science of genetics biologists began understanding the mechanics of how traits are passed down to different generations and how they are altered through the discovery of DNA and its major importance. They learned that parts of DNA from each parent are passed down to the offspring. Mutations of DNA, which cause alterations of species, can also occur when traits are being passed down to the offspring. Mutations in DNA can cause the offspring to have difficulties surviving and eventually lead to the extinction of the species. On the other hand, mutation of DNA can affect the offspring positively and change its traits to be stronger and a better survivor in that certain environment which would eventually lead to a growth in population of the certain species. Mutations in DNA can also be neutral and have no effect of the offspring s traits. This battle with nature and survival through DNA lead to the foundation of the idea of Natural Selection (Alberto 2008). Natural selection is survival of the fittest , the ... In this case, a mural is any piece of artwork painted or applied directly on a wall, ceiling or other large permanent surface. A distinguishing characteristic of mural painting is that the architectural elements of the given space are harmoniously incorporated into the picture. (Merriam Webster Dictionary). Here, copyright law and state laws were the only legal protection that many artists relied upon. The shift from moderate state laws to the federal policies of VARA created a tremendous impact on artists protection. The Visual Artists Rights Act expanded the protection of the artists work, but also recognized the artists work as property. Property ownership is tremendously important because it gives the artists the power to have full control over the work of art they created. Congress passed the Visual Artists Rights Act of 1990 to protect the property or work of the artists . The general rule governing our society is that the producer has dominion over property they originally created. According to the facts, Diego s mural is clearly an original work he painted that incorporates outside elements.
