A constitution is simply a body laid down fundamental principle or guides, in which a state or
organisation is been governed, it defines the duties, regulates the powers and functions of the various
institutions of government. The constitution defines how the government direct and controls the affairs
of a state; the constitution also determines structure of the relationship between the governing body
and its citizens. This laid down rules called constitution, can either be: Written (codified) or unwritten
(uncodified), unitary or federal.
For example; United Kingdom uses the unwritten constitution while the united state of America uses
the written constitution also Canada.
The purpose of this essay is to show if UK should or should not adopt a written constitution, by
analysing the advantages and disadvantages of written constitution.

Ansel Adams photographer and artist
Until the 19th century most artwork was created in a two or three dimensional media. In England,
William Fox discovered a technique that allowed camera images to be captured on paper. This
medium has evolved since Fox s discovery in 1839 to a serious and viable form of art today.
Photography allows the artist to capture what he sees. The image produced is reality to the artists eye,
it can only be manipulated with light and angles.
The photograph is a very powerful medium. The French painter Paul Delaroche exclaimed upon
seeing an early photograph from now on, painting is dead! (Sayre, 2000). Many critics did not take
photography seriously as a legitimate art form until the 20th century. With the ... Show more content

The group concentrated on form and texture. The group translated scale and detail into organic,
sometimes abstract design (Jacobs, 1995).
In 1935, Adams published his first book, Making a Photograph. Six years later, his Zone System was
formulated. The Zone System introduced a way for the professional and amateur photographers to
determine and control the exposure and development of prints for maximum visual acuity (Jacobs,
1995). The Zone System marked his first efforts at public education on photography.
Adams felt a sense of duty to share his knowledge of nature and photography. ...[Adams] was master
teacher as well as a master photographer (Schaefer, 1992). He wrote many books and taught students
his art. Adams technical ability in the darkroom was magical. He set the standard for black and white
printing. His discriminating taste and meticulously produced prints continue to amaze current
generations twenty five years after his death. Adams was an experimenter and a modernist with his
camera.
Adams cherished the times he spent on vacation in Yosemite with his family. He spent part of his life
teaching others how to capture the panoramic beauty of our national parks. In 1940 he taught his first

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle Would Have Approved of Young...
You can get up now, Watson. The war is over. (Columbus) Many readers may be familiar with the
Scottish physician and author Sir Arthur Conan Doyle who wrote short stories about a famous
detective named Sherlock Holmes and his assistant, Dr. John H. Watson (Wilson). The 1985 film,
Young Sherlock Holmes is an imaginative creation of how Holmes and Watson met during their
younger years. In the beginning of the film, the viewers are introduced to the young detective
Sherlock Holmes and later introduced to Holmes close friend, Dr. John H. Watson. The viewers are
also introduced to Holmes nemesis Professor James Moriarty. The film displays a background for the

Rathe is a bright young man who runs the school that Holmes and Watson go to in London (Ebert).
Rathe takes Holmes under his wing and looks out for Holmes, pretending to befriend Holmes as he
investigates two murders of prominent men that have occurred in London (Shaffer). As Holmes
investigates the two murders, he begins to realize that there is a cult connected to the murders. The
victims were shot with a hallucinogen that caused the victims to have bizarre hallucinations that
resulted in death (Martel). The film Young Sherlock Holmes has gotten many praises for the quality of
the film. According to Christopher Null, the film portrays how Moriarty and Watson meet Holmes as
well as give an explanation to where the pipe, hat and Elementary! motto came from. Christopher Null
also mentions that the outline for Harry Potter came from Levinson s Young Sherlock Holmes (Null).
Michael Noble, another movie critic, agrees that Young Sherlock Holmes was possibly the beginning
of Harry Potter because both plots had two boys and one girl. Michael Noble further states that
Holmes and Potter had a similar starry destiny and that Holmes smart alec knowledge contributed to
the character Hermione in Harry Potter (Noble). Though many critics have different views of the film

Blazing Saddles Analytical Essay
The scene I am referring to is in the movie Blazing Saddles and begins at 0:26:45 and continues to
0:29:09. This scene introduces Sheriff Bart (Cleavon Little) to the town folks. The scene begins with a
man on a building shouting The mayors comin ! The mayors comin ! (Blazing Saddles) This scene is a
very important scene in relation to the rest of the movie. This scene introduces the sheriff to he town
folks. This scene also stresses the racial aspect of the film with many references to the sheriffs race.
Without this scene the film would lose some comedic value, and the audience wouldn t understand
why the town folks are uncomfortable with the sheriff throughout the film.
The lighting during this scene is very well lit throughout the entire scene. This is due to the setting of

Soil and General Term Landslides
LANDSLIDES
Introduction
The term landslide includes all varieties of mass movements of hill slopes and can be defined as the
downward and outward movement of slope forming materials composed of rocks, soils, artificial fills
or combination of all these materials along surfaces of separation by falling, sliding and flowing,
either slowly or quickly from one place to another. Although the landslides are primarily associated
with mountainous terrains, these can also occur in areas where an activity such as surface excavations
for highways, buildings and open pit mines takes place.

Effects of landslides
In hilly terrains of India, Himalayan Mountains, Western Ghats and northeastern part, landslides have
been one of the major natural disasters that strike life and property almost perennially. These
landslides, year after year, bring about untold misery to human settlements apart from causing
devastating damages of transportation and communication network.
(i)Landslides cause property damage: Injury and death and adversely effect a variety of resources. For
example, water supplies, fisheries, sewage disposal systems, forests, dams and roadways can be
affected for year after a slide event.
(ii)The negative economic effects of landslides: It include the cost to repair structures, loss of property
value, disruption of transportation routes, medical posts in the even of injury, and indirect costs such
as lost timber and lost fish stocks.
(iii)Quantity and quality: Water availability, Quantity and quality can be affected by landslides.
Geotechnical studies and engineering projects to assess and stabilize potentially dangerous sites can be
costly. Large, infrequent landslides contribute less to personal and property losses than do the smaller,
more frequent slides and debris torrents in populated areas.
Every year in India especially in mountainous regions landslides damage many houses, buildings,
roads, railways, pipelines, agricultural land and crops and cause the

The Battle Of The World War II
The first time aircrafts are seen playing major roles in World War II Germany and Japan had begun to
attack the nation. Germany and Japan began their initial attacks strong with air strikes, first attacking
Holland, Denver, France, and England. When the British retaliated, they had cutting edge fighters
guided by radar. The Battle for Britain was one of the first battles fought solely in the air, keeping
Germany from taking control of Britain s airways. Japan also began its attack on the U.S via air strike
during in the Japanese surprise bombing of Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Soon the use of military aircrafts
began to technologically advance due to their importance. Aircrafts took part in World War I, but had
minor affect in the outcome. However, during World War II they were plausibly the greatest weaponry
system available. The airplane specifically became a vital machine that vastly affected the way many
battles were lost and won. Another vital war machine is the aircraft carrier, essential to the United
States after the majority of its battleships were destroyed at Pearl Harbor. Airplanes played a major
role in the outcome of the war. From reconnaissance, fighters, to bombing missions without the help
of airplanes the achievements, and advancements of the aircrafts and military missions would have
inhibited us from constructing the modern technologies that are used today.
Undoubtedly, air reconnaissance played a role during the First World War. Pilot reporters enabled

Dan Coats Essay
The battle for the state of Indiana is usually quite set. Indiana has long been considered to be a staunch
Republican supporting state, especially in Presidential races. The Hoosier state has only supported a
Democratic candidate for president five times since 1900. These include Woodrow Wilson, Franklin
D. Roosevelt in two elections, Lyndon Johnson, and, by a mere 1% margin, Barak Obama. But, it is
also interesting to note that eleven Democrats have been elected Indiana s governor during that same
time span. On the other hand, 14 Republican presidential candidates have defeated a Democratic
candidate by double digit margins, including six times when a Republican won by more than 20%.
Historically, Republicans have been strongest in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is important because of that roughly 4.9 million people, enough voted for the Republican Daniel
Coats to return to the US Senate after a 12 year hiatus.
When trying to win any election in Indiana, candidates need to focus on the issues facing the everyday
Hoosier. Specifically, the economy and jobs in Indiana are paramount. Understandably, candidates try
to focus on Indiana s largest economic markets to get as much support as possible. For example,
Northwestern Indiana is the largest steel producing area in the U.S. Besides steel, pharmaceuticals and
medical devices reign king in central Indiana (Bureau of Labor Statistics,
http://stats.bls.gov/eag/eag.in.htm). This is largely attributed to the international headquarters and
research facilities of pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, the state s largest corporation, residing in
Indianapolis. Similarly, the world headquarters of Mead Johnson Nutritionals is located in Evansville,
Indiana. Logically so, Indiana ranks fifth among all U.S. states in total sales and shipments of
pharmaceutical products and second highest in the number of bio pharmaceutical related jobs (Terre
Haute Economic Development Center, http://www.terrehauteareaedc.com/econ_industry.htm).
Therefore, when politicians look to pick up the work force s vote, they give special attention to these
departments. On

Export of Towel from Pakistan
INTRODUCTION
The export of towel from Pakistan to other countries is not generating much revenue but it has some
importance as Pakistan ranks with India and China among the world s leading towel manufacturers.
The towel export business is specially a good one for Karachi based producers, bringing Pakistan
$300 million each year from sales to the United States alone. It is also good for urban Pakistanis
seeking factory work According to the Towel Manufacturers Association of Pakistan (TMA), the
manufacture of nine tons of towels enough to fill a standard 20x20x8 foot shipping container puts 485
Pakistani men and women to work.

Essay on Children + Violence + Television = Bad
On September 11th, 2001, millions around the world crowded around televisions across the globe and
watched the horrific scenes of terrorism that had struck New York City, Washington, D.C and
Pennsylvania on that ill fated and now infamous morning. Suddenly, in a crowded room everyone felt
alone. As the Twin Towers vanished before our very eyes, so did our sense of security and protection.
We watched with shock and horror, disbelief and grief as the images were repeatedly flashed before
our eyes. There was no escape. Every television channel and every radio station constantly reminded
us of the tragedy that we will never forget. Even today, over three years later, I can see the images and

It s simply too depressing. Today s news stories are explicit enough to make adults cringe, leaving
children staggering. Images of injured, suffering, and the deceased often fill our television sets with
reality violence. The news, however, is not the only type of media violence affecting children.
Even family oriented cartoons such as the Looney Tunes starring household names such as Bugs
Bunny, Wildie Coyote, and the Road Runner portray a lot of violence. Unfortunately, these types of
violence are often rewarded with a laugh. While it may be comedic to adults, children are witnessing
acts of violence that happen without punishment. Many of these acts of violence would leave a person
greatly injured or dead, but in the cartoons the character on the screen is unaffected and ready to try
again in the next scene or segment. This clearly is not reality. Children do not have the ability and
understanding to grasp fictional television and reality.
Even as children grow out of cartoons, they are still entertained by violence. I grew up watching the
World Wrestling Federation (WWF) with my older brother and my step father, two people I looked up
to. I remember countless days of wrestling with my friends throughout my childhood in result of
watching the WWF. I did not understand how watching fake wrestling on television altered my reality
until I grew up and now watch some of cousin s children or neighborhood children wrestle and they
expect no one to get hurt, which is rarely

Aristotle s Argument of the Polis
In what follows, I shall consider Aristotle s argument of the polis, or the city state, as presented in his
Politics I.2, and expound on the philosophical implications of this particular thesis; namely, a thesis
which claims that the city state exists by nature, and correspondingly, that a human being is by nature
a political animal . Along the way, I shall present two objections leveled against each claim. The first
pertains to the invalidity of the argument on ends; specifically, I shall protest that when a thing s
process of coming to be is completed, even if we regard this as an end, this does not necessarily confer
that such an end is a natural end, for artificial processes too, like natural processes, share the potential
to arrive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I will now focus on each claim and discuss their respective argument in support. First, if all of the
associations prior to the coming to be of the city state exist by nature, and when a thing s linear
development of coming to be is completed and such is regarded as an end, it must necessarily be
admitted that the city state as the completed result of an uninterrupted process is a natural end itself;
so, the city state exists by nature. Aristotle affirms that each association is a natural development in so
far as it emerges from the natural impulse for self sufficiency, so in achieving its development, it is
clear that such is said to arrive at its nature because of its nature. With regard to Aristotle s whole part
claim, the following can be made explicit: the city state as a whole is prior to its parts namely, human
s being human if and only if it can continue to exist even when any of its parts are removed; but the
human s being human cannot exist in that sense without it. Just as it is essential to a hands being a
hand that it be part of a living human body, for instance, it is similarly essential to a human s being a
human that she or he be part of a city state; hence, hands are essentially corporeal in the same sense
that human beings are essentially political. In any case, whereas the city state continues to exist, the
human s being human cannot. So, the whole is prior to its

Dream Guy It s been a long day for Riley and it wasn t over yet, she still had night school. Sure, it was

here. Evidently, it s possible, they both chuckled. Yeah, you would know, Diane interrupted
sarcastically, grabbing David s attention. The bubble she conceived, that it was just her and David in

Last and certainly not least I respect and abide by the laws of our country. If each municipal local
governing agency would pass legislation to ensure the safety of neighborhoods, communities,
civilians, law enforcement and government officials under due proper guidelines, all will have
knowledge of what can and can not be done as a neighborhood watch person. The National Institute of
Justice prepared a report to the United States Congress entitled Preventing Crime: What Works; What
Doesn t; What s Promising. The primary conclusion of the report found that in part enacting programs
in different local communities sometimes work, sometimes don t work in curving crime and in
monitoring the effectiveness of community organizations and neighborhood watch programs. The
report dug into the monies spent for federally to be used in local communities. In 1996, $1.4 billion
was used in funding of local police by the Office for Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS),
and $1.8 billion in local crime prevention assistance funding of a wide range of institutions by the
Office for Justice Programs (OJP). Although funding is still being received and legislation being
enacted, it is primarily up to local communities to pass legislation that is in the best interest of all of
the citizens in each respective community.

Genesis 37-38 Analysis
Genesis 37 38 This is the introduction of Jacob/Israel s favorite son, Joseph. Joseph has multiple
dreams, which allude to a future where he will rule over all of his family members. Joseph s brothers,
who already despise Joseph, become even angrier after he tells them about his dreams. Instead of
murdering Joseph as they initially wanted, they sell him to Ishmaelites at Judah s advice and Joseph is
taken prisoner to Egypt. Chapter 38 is a sudden shift to Judah and his family after Joseph is sold into
slavery. A woman named Tamar marries Judah s firstborn, but after he dies she marries the second son.
He dies as well and Judah sends her away, fearing for the life of his youngest son, but promises that
she will marry his youngest son once he is old enough. Judah does not give Tamar to his youngest son
once he is old enough to marry, so Tamar takes matters into her own hands by tricking Judah into
sleeping with her. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Niditch focuses on the role of women in the period of the ancestral history and how it relates
specifically to the story of Judah and Tamar in Genesis 38. Niditch defines women basically as
objects, who do not have a rightful place in society if they are not married with children, or virgins in

Social Responsibility And Shareholder Theory
In recent years, society insistently demands from corporations actively participate in his life. The main
idea is next, inasmuch as corporation is extracted from society a certain income, they therefore obliged
him to pay. What is a social responsibility of business today? What should do executives only satisfy
shareholders or they have also obligations to society?
One of the most famous studies about social responsibility and shareholder theory presents in the
article of economist Milton Friedman named The Social Responsibility of Business Is to Increase Its
Profits , which has been published in 1970n. In this article author, who has subsequently rewarded
with the Nobel Prize, was formulated main points of shareholders theory and denounced the whole
concept of socially responsible business. Friedman declared, There is one and only one social
responsibility of business to use its resources and engage in activities designed to increase its profits
so long as it stays within the rules of the game (214). He defenses his view using next arguments.
First, he pointed that the primary responsibility of managers is the fulfillment of desires owners of the
company, hence shareholders. The wishes of shareholders are reduced mainly to one thing, namely to
bring the company the highest possible income. In this case executive s responsibility is to conduct the
business in accordance with their [shareholders] desires, which generally will be to make as much
money as possible

Why Is Integrity Important In Law Enforcement
Today I am writing this disciplinary report on the importance of integrity in law enforcement. What is
Integrity? To me Integrity is the quality of being honest at all times, and having and using strong
moral principles. Integrity is not solely based upon the actions of an officer when everyone is
watching you, but also includes the actions taken when it is believed that no one is around to watch.
Integrity is also being able to admit when you have made a mistake and own up to it. It also means
being trustworthy and dependable even when the right thing to do isn t the easiest or most popular.
Integrity is also directly related to many other qualities that you would want in a police officer.
Without integrity you cant have honesty, without honesty there is no accountability, without
accountability there is no excellence. As you can see integrity is the baseline quality that s wanted in

moral standard. When the police deal with the public, unfortunately it is usually when something is
wrong. To be able to fix things that are wrong in society you have to be a person of integrity with
moral values. The public would never trust someone who does not have integrity to fix there
problems. In order for officers of the Las Vegas metropolitan police to perform their duties the
community needs to be able to trust them. When a officer is trustworthy, he or she can be relied upon
to be honest, reliable, and loyal, which to me means they have integrity. But its also equally important
to be respectful, responsible, fair, caring, and demonstrate good citizenship. An officer with integrity
does exactly what he says, and says exactly what he means. There is no conflict or doubt between his
thoughts and actions. His actions are consistent with the values he claims to

Essay On Oil Spills
7 years ago, one of the largest oil spills in history occurred at the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. To this
day, the damage is still being cleaned up, and will never be the same as it was before. The wellhead at
the ocean floor is emptying oil contents at an incredibly high rate, causing the sea to be flooded with
the harmful, unnatural substance. It is not until recently that scientists have found a way to help
minimize the drastic consequences, yet they still didn t even have time to experiment their supposedly
helpful chemical. Their plan is to dump another unnatural chemical into the water to help disperse the
oil. With the oil droplets becoming comparably smaller, the slippery substance is less apparent in the
water and seems to have a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this much of a substance being pumped into an ecosystem that doesn t compensate for its
presence, marine life has a definite chance of being drastically depleted even more. Unfortunately, it
also contaminates the air and the food chain it travels up until it can even reach us. The oil has already
contaminated the shores of many US beaches, and it d only be a matter of time until our oceans would
be too polluted to swim in. What would this say about the aquatic organisms or the animals we
consume from the ocean? Not to mention all the people who would be affected by this. No one wants
to swim in dirty water and we do not want the next generation to have to either. It is our responsibility
to keep the Earth clean. The other side to dumping the chemical to disperse the oil spill, is that there
was not enough research conducted to do so.It could be argued that the decision to dump more of an
unknown chemical into the water was rash, and could ve had dangerous consequences. There is still
no clear answer if the chemical is harmful to the biotic life, or any of the ecosystem at all. It may only
cause more issues that we have to deal with later on. While one problem is solved, another is created.
This is what s wrong with human society. We are ruining our planet, but the only way we know how to

The Novel The Handmaid Tale
Imagine knowing that a group of people are attempting to take full control of society and the way to
live life, but there is nothing that can be done to stop them from accomplishing it. That s exactly what
has been occurring to societies around the world for centuries: Hitler in Germany, Stalin in Russia,
and Idi Amin in Uganda, but still continues due to a leader or Regime s clever techniques to gradually
attain power in society without the acknowledgement of citizens. Similarly, in the dystopian novel The
Handmaids Tale, a staged terrorist attack kills the President, which leads to the government being
taken over by the Republic of Gilead, who ultimately transforms the state of Gilead into a women s
nightmare. The women in the novel are forced to be sex slaves in society, in order to produce babies
for the infertile men in the state of Gilead, where fertility rates are significantly low. However, the
Republic of Gilead forces citizens to follow their theocratic ideology through misleading the entire
population with their clever techniques to accomplish their goal of having full power and eventually
form a totalitarian society. Thus, in The Handmaids Tale, by Margaret Atwood, misinterpreted
references to the bible s scriptures and manipulative techniques are used by the Regime of Gilead to
form a totalitarian society. The Republic of Gilead uses misinterpreted references from the bible, in

There are many Types of Security
Back to the question at hand, when is too much security too much? The turning point is different for
each situation. A home computer can have too much security when the user installs two separate
security programs. These programs then end up fighting each other and not protecting the computer at
all. For a business it can be when the company begins to lose money by having less time to be
productive. A simple example would be when a company installs an auto log off feature that
terminates a user s session after they do not do any actions for ten minutes. After a month of testing
the new feature the employees report that they feel as though they are spending as much time logging
in as they are doing any work. To help decide when a system has too much security can easily be
solved when dealing with obvious issues, but if the task becomes harder the issue can be solved in a
formulaic fashion. In the study An Analytical Security Model for Existing Software Systems by Ayaz
Isazadeh and a few other researchers, over the course of four years, developed a formula for how
much security would be needed per architectural system. This type of study helps more than simple
businesses, governments everywhere take the information into consideration when creating or
changing their system. For example, the U.S. government is wrote about in the article Defending

Queer Theory Case Study
Queer theory was developed by Judith Butler in her post modern feminist text, Gender Trouble:
feminism and the subversion of identity (Horitar, 2015). She discussed the role that gender and sexual
orientation play in the way in which society uses the concepts in order to place individuals in a
specific category on the basis on how they behave (Guantlett, 1998; Horitar, 2015). This theory
examines the diverse ways in which current beliefs serves to reintegrate societal anticipations of
gender identity, appearance and sexuality, it also offers a negotiation for the fragmentation of
constructed gender categories (Horitar, 2015).
According to Western society, sex defines your particular gender (feminine or masculine) which in
turn defines your true identity, for example a biological female is considered to be a women who is
anticipated, by the society in which they live, to be more sensitive and nurturing than a man and who

Chapter 5 Modeling And Simulation Of The Supply Chain Complexity With Product And Demand
Characterisation
In the real world, supply chains are more complex, an information exchange difficult, since real
demand and delivery times seldom are known. To reproduce this unpredictability to a certain extent,
we have order and delivery delays as well as no information sharing between the sites. A supply chain
contains different flows. The information flow and the physical the product flow are considered.
Real System: If implementing a simulation for a real system, collect input and output data where
applicable to use during the validation and simulation process. For a virtual system, the quality of the
data and understanding its origin is significant to the validation process according to Law and Kelton.
Modeling: In a first step the real system is analyzed and a model of it is specified. The level of
abstraction depends on the goal of the simulation. The modeling can be done in a general
programming language like UML, a Visio chart or in Mathematica. The resulting formal model is
checked for its suitability against the real system.
Implementation: After the system has been abstracter to a model, the model is implemented in a
simulator. The simulator contains the physical model, which has to be verified against the formal
model.
Model Validation : Conclusions need to be reached from a valid system to achieve the set objectives.
The validation process determines that the

Compare And Contrast Chopin And Dunbar
Introduction: How did Chopin and Dunbar respond to the turmoil in their lives and society.
As the oppression of slavery died out, a new age began to dawn of both technology and economics,
also a new age also dawned for poets, writers, and the everyday person. The people of this age would
experience something new from these poets and writers, no longer taking the people to a far away
place, a place where starving, suffering, everyday life, doesn t exists; no these poets would take their
readers to their neighbors and maybe even themselves, show them the things we didn t want to see.
Chopin who was one of these writers, wrote about the oppression of women, the forced marriages,

Dunbar wrote about his hero Douglass, a person who stood up against the oppression of slaves, and
black people. And Chopin, wrote about Mrs. Mallard. A woman who even frail, suffered everyday.
Not being able to experience her own world, locked in a mental cage that was her marriage. So, with
Dunbar rising in fame, for his stories about the suffering and disillusionment of the African American
experience, he would meet Frederick Douglass, a famous African American lecturer, editor, and
leader. They both thought very highly of each other, so the poem written by Dunbar named Douglass
was a cry for help from his long dead friend. Dunbar writes, Oh, for thy voice high sounding o er the
storm, for thy strong arm to guide the shivering bark, the blast defying power of thy form, to give us
comfort through the lonely dark. Dunbar wishes for Douglass to come help his people of this time, to
be their loud voice again, to use his strong to guide our shivering souls to a better place, and to be a
hero once again. So with the suffering a people, we turn to the suffering of a gender. Kate Chopin
whose writings were mostly about women of the time, wrote the short story, The Story of an Hour. A
story about a women Mrs. Mallard. Where unexpectedly, one day her husband died in a train crash,
and when she found out she wept, with the feeling of sudden abandonment in her heart, yet as she
grieved the loss of her husband, she felt a feeling that had long been forgotten. She was beginning to
recognize this thing that was approaching... she said it over and over under her breath free, free, free!.
She no longer had to suffer with her life, she could be free from the chains of marriage. Both Douglas
and Mrs. Mallard are people of likeable characteristics, giving the people who read their story a sense

Over a decade ago, A 1995 Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) survey of foreign
affiliated firms in Japan (at least one third foreign ownership), found that 65.4 percent reviewed their
business as successful while just 1 percent assessed their business as unsuccessful. More than 70
percent were planning to expand their business activities over the next five years within those
successful businesses in spite of the economic crisis. The main area of expansion was sales and
marketing activities. Eighty five percent of those companies that intended to expand their Japanese
operations said sales and marketing was the primary area targeted for expansion (Banerji Sambharya,
1996). This probably reflects an understanding that in the middle of the economic difficulties, Japan s
market revolution is still creating significant opportunities. Foreign firms are coming into Japan in
record numbers. For example, huge Western superstores are coming into Japan on the tail winds of the
deregulation of large retail stores. Toys R Us had a hard time to enter Japan in 1991, but by late 1997
was posting annual sales of 100 billion yen, with 10 percent of the market. It became the leading toy
retailer in Japan. Resistance from a group of 500 small stores, which formed the Association of Toy
Specialty Stores had not been able to stop this invasion, and its membership declined to just over fifty
stores six years after Toys R Us arrived (Delios, et al. 2007).

If a person learns from myth to live in this world as a whole person, she has a truth at least as
functional as one taken from recorded history or documented fact. Billy Pritty in The Shipping News
does not use recorded scientific methods to chart his way in the water, as one who studies history
might. Rather he relies on oral tradition to keep his boat from hitting known sinkers. Enveloped in
thick fog, Billy uses a rhyme from the time when people sailed without modern aides such as charts or
lights: When the Knitting Pins you is abreast, Desperate Cove bears due west Behind the Pins you
must steer Til The Old Man s Shoe does appear. The tickle lies just past the toe, It s narrow, you must
slowly go. (175) The idea of finding one s path by way of myth or oral tradition is typically Canadian,
since not all of Canada has been mapped from the ground. In many cases myth is more reliable than
recorded history because its telling goes back farther in time, and thus it existed before documentation.
It had power before the printing press inked history books. Further, the example of the Gammy Bird (a
paper that prints fake advertisements and recycles wrecks to present them as new) as a spreader of
information and truth proves that documented facts are not always to be believed. Dunstan Ramsay in

Ansel Adams Photographer and Artist Essay example
With ... Show more content on

Adams decision to be a full time photographer changed the photographic visions of the west. He spent
his time in National parks photographing the immense beauty of nature in these national treasures.
Adams formed a group with other San Francisco photographers in 1932 called f/64, referring to the
smallest aperture opening on a camera lens (Gray, 1994). The group concentrated on form and texture.
The group translated scale and detail into organic, sometimes abstract design (Jacobs, 1995).
[Adams] was master
teacher as well as a master photographer (Schaefer, 1992). He wrote many books and taught students
his art. Adams technical ability in the darkroom was magical. He set the standard for black and white
printing. His discriminating taste and meticulously produced prints continue to amaze current
generations twenty five years after his death. Adams was an experimenter and a modernist with his

Chlamydia is a bacterial sexually transmitted disease caused by the pathogen Chlamydia trachomatis
that can be found in the mucous membranes of the genital region, the throat, and the eyes (Malhotra

transmitted between sexual partners during sexual intercourse. However, if a pregnant female is
infected with the pathogen she can transmit it to her child during a vaginal delivery with the baby

However, if symptoms do occur, they are often times nonspecific. Women may experience abnormal
vaginal discharge, dysuria, and post coital or intermenstrual bleeding. Men may experience urethral
discharge and occasionally experience symptoms of epididymo orchitis, which results in pain and
swelling of the epididymis and testis. Men and women both can experience rectal bleeding at the
infection site (Malhotra et al. 2013). Signs of a Chlamydia trachomatis infection can be seen utilizing
different nucleotide amplification tests that are highly specific and can be used for non invasive
specimens including urine and vulval swabs (Malhotra et al. 2013). If Chlamydia trachomatis is left

measures, including legislation, to en sure the full development and advancement of women , for the
purpose of guaranteeing them the exercise and enjoyment of human rights and fundamental freedoms
on a basis of equality with men . This article is from the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms
of Discrimination against Women (CEDAW, 1979).
The covenant itself touches on three dimensions of the situation of women. The first is a women s
political participation. In Canada we elected a new Prime Minister, known as Justin Trudeau. He is the
first PM to have a cabinet that is equally half men and half women. (MacCharles, Wittington Campion
Smith, 2015). Article 3 promotes the full development of women; I think it is fair to say that our new
Prime Minister took action to make this happen when choosing his cabinet. When he was asked why
he chose to have a gender equal cabinet he simply answered by saying because it is 2015 (MacCharles

Celebrate Columbus Day
People have many different opinions. There are so many examples however today s argumentative
essay is about Christopher Columbus, for many people Columbus is a hero for other people he is not.
For examples I believe that Columbus is not a hero he is just a regular person therefore I think that the
national American day should not be called Columbus day. We don t celebrate Columbus Day in this
house, and we never will. It s not that we don t enjoy holidays when they come around. We love
holidays around here as much as anyone, but there are some holidays that, in my opinion, should not
be celebrated. Columbus Day is one of those holidays I believe should not be celebrated for many

The Transformation Of Class And Occupational Structure Of...
At this time, the descendant of Mathew Maule, Holgrave, lives with Hepzibah in the decrepit mansion.
However, unlike Hepzibah, Maule is healthy and thriving during the industrialization. With the social
change of the nineteenth century, Maule is given the opportunity to become more than the past would
have ever allowed his ancestors, [who were] generally poverty stricken; always plebeian and obscure;
working with unsuccessful diligence at handicrafts (Hawthorne 15). In Colonel Pyncheon s time, the
Maule family was in the poor plebian class and easily erasable by the Colonel. Now Maule not only
lives in the Pyncheon mansion but is prospering better than Hepzibah. Holgrave s occupation is also
different from his ancestor s carpentry work. He is a daguerreotypist; the first profession to
successfully create photographs. Melanie Archer, author of Class Formation in Nineteenth century
America: The Case of the Middle Class, states that in the nineteenth century...The development of the
middle class is rooted in the transformation of class and occupational structure (3). Holgrave s
profession coincides with his and the emerging middle class s progressive personalities and drive.
Hawthorne utilizes the Maule family to contrast the aristocratic notions, to demonstrate the ever
evolving America within the Maule family and to illustrate that, the middle class comprised not only a
significant segment of the nineteenth century urban population, but that it was influential in

Professional Writing in Computer Science Essay
A Computer Software Engineer develops software systems to be used by their clients, such as a
website used to sell the client s products. Although software engineers spend the majority of their time
programming and testing the software, a key component to the success of a software engineer is the
ability to write a thorough Software Requirement Specification (SRS). A SRS documents the
requirements and dependencies needed for the software, prior to beginning any programming.
Therefore, a Software Engineer must po The SRS is so important because engineers can have a wide

This review and evolution process is repeated as many times as needed, until the final Formal Spec is
produced, or the SRS. Then programming can begin. The process of writing a requirements
specification usually requires frequent communications between the developer and the client, keeping
the structure of the specification clear and the statements or expressions used readable is therefore
crucial (Lui et al.). Consequences and Time Spent The reason that a SRS is needed should be rather
obvious; if the requirements aren t written down, how do the software engineers know what to
program, and how does the client know what to expect? (Berezin) However, the SRS is often times
skipped, or written at a very high level, lacking enough detail. Taking the user requirements and
writing them into specifications is considered to be one of the most difficult steps in software
development, and therefore engineers frequently attempt to bypass this step. It is also very time
consuming are the engineers wasting their time writing the SRS when they should be programming?
In discussing this with Cheryl Lindauer, the Corporate Development Manager at Shoe Carnival, the
answer is an outstanding NO! The best investment any company can make is to write detailed SRS
documents for every project, before beginning any coding. If we are in a time crunch and skip the SRS
document,

Soon the use of military aircrafts began to technologically advance due to their importance. Aircrafts took part in World War I, but had minor affect in the outcome. • 10. Dan Coats Essay The battle for the state of Indiana is usually quite set. Indiana has long been considered to be a staunch Republican supporting state, especially in Presidential races. The Hoosier state has only supported a Democratic candidate for president five times since 1900. These include Woodrow Wilson, Franklin D. Roosevelt in two elections, Lyndon Johnson, and, by a mere 1% margin, Barak Obama. But, it is also interesting to note that eleven Democrats have been elected Indiana s governor during that same time span. On the other hand, 14 Republican presidential candidates have defeated a Democratic candidate by double digit margins, including six times when a Republican won by more than 20%. When trying to win any election in Indiana, candidates need to focus on the issues facing the everyday Hoosier. Specifically, the economy and jobs in Indiana are paramount. Understandably, candidates try to focus on Indiana s largest economic markets to get as much support as possible. For example, Northwestern Indiana is the largest steel producing area in the U.S. Besides steel, pharmaceuticals and medical devices reign king in central Indiana (Bureau of Labor Statistics, http://stats.bls.gov/eag/eag.in.htm). This is largely attributed to the international headquarters and research facilities of pharmaceutical giant Eli Lilly, the state s largest corporation, residing in Indianapolis. Similarly, the world headquarters of Mead Johnson Nutritionals is located in Evansville, Indiana. Logically so, Indiana ranks fifth among all U.S. states in total sales and shipments of pharmaceutical products and second highest in the number of bio pharmaceutical related jobs (Terre Haute Economic Development Center, http://www.terrehauteareaedc.com/econ_industry.htm). Essay on Children + Violence + Television = Bad On September 11th, 2001, millions around the world crowded around televisions across the globe and watched the horrific scenes of terrorism that had struck New York City, Washington, D.C and Pennsylvania on that ill fated and now infamous morning. Suddenly, in a crowded room everyone felt alone. As the Twin Towers vanished before our very eyes, so did our sense of security and protection. We watched with shock and horror, disbelief and grief as the images were repeatedly flashed before our eyes. There was no escape. Today s news stories are explicit enough to make adults cringe, leaving children staggering. Images of injured, suffering, and the deceased often fill our television sets with reality violence. The news, however, is not the only type of media violence affecting children. Even family oriented cartoons such as the Looney Tunes starring household names such as Bugs Bunny, Wildie Coyote, and the Road Runner portray a lot of violence. Unfortunately, these types of violence are often rewarded with a laugh. While it may be comedic to adults, children are witnessing acts of violence that happen without punishment. Many of these acts of violence would leave a person greatly injured or dead, but in the cartoons the character on the screen is unaffected and ready to try again in the next scene or segment. This clearly is not reality. Children do not have the ability and understanding to grasp fictional television and reality. Even as children grow out of cartoons, they are still entertained by violence. I grew up watching the World Wrestling Federation (WWF) with my older brother and my step father, two people I looked up to. • 14. Aristotle s Argument of the Polis In what follows, I shall consider Aristotle s argument of the polis, or the city state, as presented in his Politics I.2, and expound on the philosophical implications of this particular thesis; namely, a thesis which claims that the city state exists by nature, and correspondingly, that a human being is by nature a political animal . Along the way, I shall present two objections leveled against each claim. The first pertains to the invalidity of the argument on ends; specifically, I shall protest that when a thing s process of coming to be is completed, even if we regard this as an end, this does not necessarily confer that such an end is a natural end, for artificial processes too, like natural processes, share the potential to arrive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I will now focus on each claim and discuss their respective argument in support. First, if all of the associations prior to the coming to be of the city state exist by nature, and when a thing s linear development of coming to be is completed and such is regarded as an end, it must necessarily be admitted that the city state as the completed result of an uninterrupted process is a natural end itself; so, the city state exists by nature. Aristotle affirms that each association is a natural development in so far as it emerges from the natural impulse for self sufficiency, so in achieving its development, it is clear that such is said to arrive at its nature because of its nature. With regard to Aristotle s whole part claim, the following can be made explicit: the city state as a whole is prior to its parts namely, human s being human if and only if it can continue to exist even when any of its parts are removed; but the human s being human cannot exist in that sense without it. Just as it is essential to a hands being a hand that it be part of a living human body, for instance, it is similarly essential to a human s being a human that she or he be part of a city state; hence, hands are essentially corporeal in the same sense that human beings are essentially political. Joseph s brothers, who already despise Joseph, become even angrier after he tells them about his dreams. Instead of murdering Joseph as they initially wanted, they sell him to Ishmaelites at Judah s advice and Joseph is taken prisoner to Egypt. Integrity is also being able to admit when you have made a mistake and own up to it. It also means being trustworthy and dependable even when the right thing to do isn t the easiest or most popular. A home computer can have too much security when the user installs two separate security programs. These programs then end up fighting each other and not protecting the computer at all. For a business it can be when the company begins to lose money by having less time to be productive. A simple example would be when a company installs an auto log off feature that terminates a user s session after they do not do any actions for ten minutes. After a month of testing the new feature the employees report that they feel as though they are spending as much time logging in as they are doing any work. To help decide when a system has too much security can easily be solved when dealing with obvious issues, but if the task becomes harder the issue can be solved in a formulaic fashion. • 31. Modeling And Simulation Of The Supply Chain Complexity... Chapter 5 Modeling And Simulation Of The Supply Chain Complexity With Product And Demand Characterisation In the real world, supply chains are more complex, an information exchange difficult, since real demand and delivery times seldom are known. To reproduce this unpredictability to a certain extent, we have order and delivery delays as well as no information sharing between the sites. A supply chain contains different flows. The information flow and the physical the product flow are considered. Real System: If implementing a simulation for a real system, collect input and output data where applicable to use during the validation and simulation process. For a virtual system, the quality of the data and understanding its origin is significant to the validation process according to Law and Kelton. Modeling: In a first step the real system is analyzed and a model of it is specified. The level of abstraction depends on the goal of the simulation. The modeling can be done in a general programming language like UML, a Visio chart or in Mathematica. The resulting formal model is checked for its suitability against the real system. Implementation: After the system has been abstracter to a model, the model is implemented in a simulator. The simulator contains the physical model, which has to be verified against the formal model. Model Validation : Conclusions need to be reached from a valid system to achieve the set objectives. The validation process determines that the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 32. Compare And Contrast Chopin And Dunbar Introduction: How did Chopin and Dunbar respond to the turmoil in their lives and society. As the oppression of slavery died out, a new age began to dawn of both technology and economics, also a new age also dawned for poets, writers, and the everyday person. The people of this age would experience something new from these poets and writers, no longer taking the people to a far away place, a place where starving, suffering, everyday life, doesn t exists; no these poets would take their readers to their neighbors and maybe even themselves, show them the things we didn t want to see. Chopin who was one of these writers, wrote about the oppression of women, the forced marriages, eternally serving, no freedom, and their eternal suffering. As ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Dunbar wrote about his hero Douglass, a person who stood up against the oppression of slaves, and black people. And Chopin, wrote about Mrs. Mallard. A woman who even frail, suffered everyday. Not being able to experience her own world, locked in a mental cage that was her marriage. So, with Dunbar rising in fame, for his stories about the suffering and disillusionment of the African American experience, he would meet Frederick Douglass, a famous African American lecturer, editor, and leader. They both thought very highly of each other, so the poem written by Dunbar named Douglass was a cry for help from his long dead friend. Dunbar writes, Oh, for thy voice high sounding o er the storm, for thy strong arm to guide the shivering bark, the blast defying power of thy form, to give us comfort through the lonely dark. Dunbar wishes for Douglass to come help his people of this time, to be their loud voice again, to use his strong to guide our shivering souls to a better place, and to be a hero once again. So with the suffering a people, we turn to the suffering of a gender. Kate Chopin whose writings were mostly about women of the time, wrote the short story, The Story of an Hour. A story about a women Mrs. Mallard. Where unexpectedly, one day her husband died in a train crash, and when she found out she wept, with the feeling of sudden abandonment in her heart, yet as she grieved the loss of her husband, she felt a feeling that had long been forgotten. She was beginning to recognize this thing that was approaching... she said it over and over under her breath free, free, free!. She no longer had to suffer with her life, she could be free from the chains of marriage. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Over a decade ago, A 1995 Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI) survey of foreign affiliated firms in Japan (at least one third foreign ownership), found that 65.4 percent reviewed their business as successful while just 1 percent assessed their business as unsuccessful. More than 70 percent were planning to expand their business activities over the next five years within those successful businesses in spite of the economic crisis. The main area of expansion was sales and marketing activities. Eighty five percent of those companies that intended to expand their Japanese operations said sales and marketing was the primary area targeted for expansion (Banerji Sambharya, 1996). This probably reflects an understanding that in the middle of the economic difficulties, Japan s market revolution is still creating significant opportunities. Foreign firms are coming into Japan in record numbers. For example, huge Western superstores are coming into Japan on the tail winds of the deregulation of large retail stores. Toys R Us had a hard time to enter Japan in 1991, but by late 1997 was posting annual sales of 100 billion yen, with 10 percent of the market. It became the leading toy retailer in Japan. Resistance from a group of 500 small stores, which formed the Association of Toy Specialty Stores had not been able to stop this invasion, and its membership declined to just over fifty stores six years after Toys R Us arrived (Delios, et al. 2007). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... If a person learns from myth to live in this world as a whole person, she has a truth at least as functional as one taken from recorded history or documented fact. Billy Pritty in The Shipping News does not use recorded scientific methods to chart his way in the water, as one who studies history might. Rather he relies on oral tradition to keep his boat from hitting known sinkers. Enveloped in thick fog, Billy uses a rhyme from the time when people sailed without modern aides such as charts or lights: When the Knitting Pins you is abreast, Desperate Cove bears due west Behind the Pins you must steer Til The Old Man s Shoe does appear. The tickle lies just past the toe, It s narrow, you must slowly go. (175) The idea of finding one s path by way of myth or oral tradition is typically Canadian, since not all of Canada has been mapped from the ground. In many cases myth is more reliable than recorded history because its telling goes back farther in time, and thus it existed before documentation. It had power before the printing press inked history books. Further, the example of the Gammy Bird (a paper that prints fake advertisements and recycles wrecks to present them as new) as a spreader of information and truth proves that documented facts are not always to be believed. In England, William Fox discovered a technique that allowed camera images to be captured on paper. This medium has evolved since Fox s discovery in 1839 to a serious and viable form of art today. Photography allows the artist to capture what he sees. The image produced is reality to the artists eye, it can only be manipulated with light and angles. The photograph is a very powerful medium. Adams decision to be a full time photographer changed the photographic visions of the west. He spent his time in National parks photographing the immense beauty of nature in these national treasures. Adams formed a group with other San Francisco photographers in 1932 called f/64, referring to the smallest aperture opening on a camera lens (Gray, 1994). The group concentrated on form and texture. The group translated scale and detail into organic, sometimes abstract design (Jacobs, 1995). In 1935, Adams published his first book, Making a Photograph. Six years later, his Zone System was formulated. The Zone System introduced a way for the professional and amateur photographers to determine and control the exposure and development of prints for maximum visual acuity (Jacobs, 1995). The Zone System marked his first efforts at public education on photography. Adams felt a sense of duty to share his knowledge of nature and photography.
