I have been teaching writing for many years. As a result, I have a variety of papers for students to
write that I know are possible for third graders to write. In addition, each year and group of students is
different so I adjust the papers they write based on the level of the group and the needs of the
individual student.
We work together on planning our papers through a step by step scaffolding process and modeling so
that students have assistance with the planning process. The next stage is for me to walk around to
monitor the students and determine what assistance they need. I check for understanding of the
assignment and make suggestions as needed and to confirm they will be able to write this paper.
During this time, I will assist them with any spelling issues they may have. In addition, I conference
one on one with each student and will help them with spelling during this time. Since I don t teach
spelling, this process has worked the best. Finally, I do teach cursive handwriting so this is a skill that
we work on weekly. My goal is to finish each of the letters in the first semester and practice these
skills in the second.
We are departmentalized so I am only able to see their work in writing and science. We do write a
science research paper on the animal of their choice which gives them the opportunity to apply their

among the rest of the passage. On page 68, Crooks responded to Lennie s sudden entrance, You go on

Due to their compelling findings, the authors were able to construct several conclusions. Firstly,

Secondly, with the focus currently on cognitive psychology, behavioural psychology has and

the authors state that one reason cognitive psychology is transcending behavioural psychology is due

Is it possible for the torture and deaths of thousands of innocent lives to be justified? Starting in 1932,
Japanese scientists began doing research for the Imperial Japanese Army, in which they subjected over
3000 people to brutal experiments. Treated as if they were lab rats their suffering was seen by the
scientists as part of the greater good for the Empire of Japan. After World War Two the United States
government pardoned these scientists in order to ensure that they would not destroy all their results.
To let all the results of their experiments be lost would make all the suffering that the victims went
through be lost and meaningless. The Second Sino Japanese War began in 1937 and ended in 1945.
Fighting between China and Japan began in 1931, after the successful Japanese invasion of
Manchuria, in border skirmishes. Due to their small population compared to China, Japan sought to

research program to perform research kept secret due to its brutal nature. This program is referred to

since he grew up in America that this is considered his home. Vargas believed he would be granted
citizenship if he worked harder and achieved more. His motivation of sharing his childhood journey
would be the relief of him coming forward about his legal status to those who were not aware and to
those who he truly cares about but could not risk sharing his story with. Vargas tone and stance attracts
people who are or have already been through the same path and for those that come to America to live
the American Dream like Vargas intended to. Vargas concludes he is trapped in duplicity and being
