Analyzing
Once the scanning of the factors that has been identified is done, it has to be analysed to know the
impact on the business at different stages of the business. Again there are several tools available for
analyzing the scanned environmental variables which could be used for scenario building cases,
benchmarking and for even Delphi techniques. In all the tools that is being used for analyzing would
gather the data and analyse in the similar fashion. In this type of analysis conducted on the gathered
information, mean median, mode, correlation and regression are calculated. The method of analyzing
may vary depending upon the factor that is being analysed (Kotler P. and Lee R. 2008).
Forecasting
When the environmental factors are analysed, it is important to make it clear for the organisation
regarding the impact of the environmental factor that could be made on the organisation in the near
future. The main reason for analyzing the current data with the historical data is to forecast the impact
that could be made on the organisation. from the forecast that has been made on the environmental
factors, a business strategy is devised by the management in order to manage the business in response
to the analysis carried out.
The environmental analysis is carried out on the internal and the external business environmental
factors. The internal analysis describes the strength, weakness, opportunities and the threats of the
organisation internally. But the

Korea And The Treaty Of Annexation
In 1910, Korea became a Japanese colony with Prime Minister Yi Wan yong s signing of the Treaty of
Annexation. Korea under Japanese colonialism, from 1910 to 1945, struggled to maintain their
nationalism as a whole. Almost every Korean citizen, the ones without connections to power, had to
give up on their properties for Japanese military and government purposes. A great amount of Koreans
were tortured or even killed if they refused to comply with the soldiers demand. During this
colonization of Korea, Koreans suffered greatly not only because of the loss of their identity, but
through the hardships they were forced into by the Japanese. Such as the men being forced into hard
labor jobs under dangerous and slave like conditions while the

Facts About The Vietnam War
The longest recorded and arguably one of the most controversial wars in American history is the
Vietnam war. In 1959, the communist government of North Vietnam had devised a guerrilla campaign
in democratic South Vietnam. The government of North Vietnam had the goal of uniting both
countries under a communist reign. The United States quickly became an ally with South Vietnam
because they feared the spread of communism. The aftermath of the war resulted in sixty thousand
American deaths and two million Vietnamese deaths. Today many people question the necessity and
rationality of the war. It is still debated today if the American force in Vietnam was a blunder or a
noble cause. As the war raged on there was a rise of two groups in ... Show more content on

I Feel Like I m Fixing to Die Rag , by Country Joe and the Fish expresses bitter feelings towards the
draft. This song stirred up a variety of emotions among people towards the draft. It sent a powerful
message conveying that sending inexperienced young adults to fight experienced guerrillas on their
home ground was immoral and soldiers had a high risk of dying in battle. I Feel Like I m Fixing to
Die Rag , conveyed the message to millions that politicians and US military were to blame for the
Vietnam War. It also expressed the thoughts of civilians being trapped by the draft and being forced to
go to war. Country Joe and the Fish s song gathered hundreds of thousands at the Woodstock Music
Festival and their song was used as a method of uniting US citizens with the emotional lyrics of their
song. It was a way of uniting a large amount people who were unhappy with the draft and ultimately
the war. On April 30th, 1970 the current president Richard Nixon announced that the American forces

Similarities And Differences Between The Chocolate War...
The book The Chocolate War written by Robert Gormier, was made into a movie directed and scripted
by Keith Gordon. Although the movie was based of the book there are many similarities and
differences. Both the movie and the novel are about good versus evil. Keith Gordon added extra
scenes as well as removing some to try and create an effective movie.
The most obvious and major difference between the book and the movie is the boxing match. The
purpose of the the fight was to raise money to buy Jerry s chocolates as he refused to sell them. In the
book Archie wins the fight, but in the movie Jerry wins. In the book just before the fight scene Obie
and Carter tell Archie to pick two marbles from the box and they were both white, whereas in the
movie Archie picks a white and black marble and then has to fight Jerry in front of the entire school.
Another difference in the fight scene is the support that each fighter is given. In the book when Jerry
fights Janza, and is injured yet no one in the audience intervenes. In the movie after Jerry beats Archie,
Archie is demoted from being the leader of The Vigils and Jerry is accepted by the other kids. This is
shown when all the kids chant Jerry, Jerry once he had won the fight. Jerry also received acceptance
and recognition from Brother Leon, this can be seen when Jerry is looking around at the crowd and
sees Brother Leon giving him the thumbs up. Although there are many differences there are also a few
similarities. Although

Changes in Pension Accounting Over Time Have Improved...
Pensions are financial arrangements that allow individuals to receive an income stream during their
retirement years (Tatum, 2011). They are found in government institutions, private businesses,
professional groups and various other settings. Pensions funds can be found as a part of an institutions
or as an independent plan. Pension plans are a major participant in the capital markets. For example,
consider the fact that Ontario Teachers Pension Plan has a net asset value of $96.4 billion at the end of
December 31, 2009. Due to the large stake of pension plans in the local and global economy, there is a
persistent pressure to improve pension accounting. These changes have gained momentum with the
recent adoption of the International ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In the DC plan, the final benefits are unknown, but there are fixed contributions whereas in the DC
plan, because there is promise of a numerical benefit, the contributions vary as a result of time value
of money. This fundamentally means that the risk for the final benefit payout in the DB plan is borne
by the employer whereas in the DC plan, the pensioner bears this risk (Beechy Conrad, 2008).
Contributions to a pension fund are an expense for the employer, hence to describe in simple terms, on
a per pay basis, an employer will credit the pension fund with amount of pension funds the employee
is entitled to. This amount is the present value of the future payment stream payable to the employee
upon retirement (Beechy Conrad, 2008). The present value calculations of these obligations require
estimates of factors such as: investment earnings, future salary increases, employee turnover, mortality
rates, and life expectancy after retirement (Beechy Conrad, 2008). Actuarial models are used to
generate the probabilities used to calculate the pension obligation today, that will result in the
promised payout in the future. While companies do not have to worry about the funding status of DC
plans, those that offer the DB plan bear the perpetual burden of ensuring that the plans are funded.
There are three basic actuarial methods that can be used by an employer to fund the plan. The first
method is the accumulated benefit

system running in a virtual machine.
VMware software provides a complete set of virtualized hardware to the guest operating system.
VMware desktop software runs on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X, while its enterprise
software hypervisors for servers, VMware ESX and VMware ESXi, are bare metal hypervisors that
run directly on server hardware. The suite of products from VMware includes virtualization platforms
to run virtual machines along with migration and conversion tools, assessment tools, and management
tools to support the VMware Virtual Infrastructure.
VMware Infrastructure is a full infrastructure virtualization suite that provides comprehensive
virtualization, management, resource optimization, application availability, and operational
automation capabilities in an integrated offering. VMware Infrastructure virtualizes and aggregates the
underlying physical hardware resources across multiple systems and provides pools of virtual

A Report That Was Released By The United States Justice...
A report that was released by the United States Justice Department on February 12, 2016, showed that
a Florida man pleads guilty to a hate crime for threatening to firebomb two mosques and shoot
worshippers. The 43 year old man by the name Martin Alan Schnitzler was arrested by the FBI on
November 17, 2015, after he made numerous threats to shoot children in the head and firebomb a
mosque in Petersburg, Florida. In his two recorded messages, Schnitzler said that he is watching the
news report that covered the terrorist attacks in Paris. In these attacks, 130 lives were lost while more
than 300 were seriously injured. Those responsible for these series of attacks were members of a
terrorist group known as the Islamic States of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). Since ISIL members claim to be
practicing Muslims and also fighting for the cause of Islam (Jihad), Schnitzler showed the same
enmity he has for the ISIL terrorists to his non violence Muslim neighbors. For this reason, he wanted
to avenge the death of the victims of the Paris attacks by firebombing and shooting his Muslim
neighbors two year old children in the head.
After his arrest, he admitted that he violated these Muslims first Amendment (free exercise of religion)
and also pleaded guilty to the hate crime charge. According to the Department of Justice, Schnitzler
faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in federal prison. A. Lee Bentley III, the U.S. Attorney for the

Golden Rule, use manners, and be considerate to others. Caring is, be kind, forgive others, and help
people in need. As one of my characters counts respect means a lot to me, it hits a big impact on my

army has a hero and the DLC is really the icing on the cake. You get to take control of He Man, Ezio

They aren t on par with titles currently releasing these days. In fact my initial thought was: Am I still
playing this on the Xbox 360? Not much visually has changed. The resolution of textures may be a
little higher, but I found that it was all. Animations can still be a little rough and some of the textures
are flat or bland. Dense detail is only found on the toys themselves and not the surrounding
battlefields. I got the power!!I have the power!! This is where things get a little frustrating. The game
at face value is great, it is fun and even addictive at times, but it is plagued with bugs. Those that have
the Hall of Fame Edition like myself will notice an instant problem. The game cannot decide whether
to load your DLC or not. Sometimes, I have access to my extra heroes with no problem, other times I
have no access to them as the game states the DLC is not on the store yet. Even more weirdly, the
game sometimes has only one or two of the DLC characters unlocked. There are also unacceptable
load times that seem to be random. Sometimes I am even able to skip the loading screen by pressing
X. Some reports of the screen cutting off around the edges have also been reported. The game, in
short, can be described as a mess, a mixture of greatness and a pinch of uselessness. It could have

Louis Riel s Last Words Before His Execution
I have nothing but my heart, I have given it long ago to my country. These are Louis Riel s last words
before his execution. Two themes that have been debated is whether Louis Riel is a traitor or hero to
the Métis. There have been many controversial figures throughout Canada s history, but Louis Riel is
one of the most controversial figure. His perspective on how he dealt with manner is still debated
today. A key aspect discussed today is why Riel is a hero to his people; the Métis. Louis Riel had once
recognized the turmoil the Métis had to face, through this Riel proved that one must take actions in
order to achieve a person s right. Firstly, Louis Riel is a savior due to his actions to defend the Roman
Catholic faith and French and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Moreover, the government s insufficiency caused Riel to act accordingly. Earlier, it was mentioned
that the Canadian government was not authorized to take legal action until December of 1869. Though
this was clearly recognized by the government, they sent surveyors in June of 1869 for settlers to live
there. The government broke their own laws, hence it proves that Riel, due to the government s flawed
intentions, had to enforce his rule, by stepping on the chains. Unit Two: The Development of Western
Canada, on page 36 highlights that in 1882, surveyors came to the Métis peoples North West
Settlements to examine the land once more. The Métis acted quickly and sent 15 petitions to the
Canadian government for the rights of their land, none of which were answered. Once again, the
government was incapable. The government could have prevented all the troubles, but due to their
insufficiency and flawed system, they let the surveyors come onto the land. In addition to this, the
government had signed many treaties with the Métis. But, the government, yet again, didn t keep their
word and didn t follow the laws of giving them what the treaties had promised. To conclude, Riel was
compelled to take arms. The lack of control, caused the government to spend millions and ended in
destruction. Flashback Canada on page 196 stated, Some new evidence suggests that the Chief Justice

Children Should Make Our Children
Every parent wants to have a healthy perfect child, but without vaccines we would have so many sick
children that could die from the diseases that are out there today. If we all make sure our children have
their vaccines we would save more lives, save money so that we are not trying to treat the diseases,
and protect the future generations from the new diseases. When deciding whether or not to have our
children get these vaccines, think about all the good things they do rather than the bad. No one wants
to lose a loved one that has just passed of old age let alone passed because of something that could
have been prevented by just a simple vaccine. All parents of children should make sure that they
receive their vaccines because it will change people s lives, save our country a lot of money, and
protect our future generations.
Clearly, there are still plenty of people out there that are not vaccinated and they cannot wait too long
to get their vaccines. The Center of Disease Control estimated that 732,000 American children were
saved from death and 322 million cases of childhood illnesses were prevented between 1994 and 2014
due to vaccinations (Loria, 2014). Our country needs to come together to try to make our parents
understand why we are pushing to have their children vaccinated so soon. There are many ways
vaccines in the United States can change people s lives and we do not even realize it because
Americans take everything for granted. Just because a disease is lying

individual. There is evidence that pain is under assessed and under treated, especially in highly
sensitive people and vulnerable populations such as the elderly, individuals who English is a second
language and people with disabilities.
Pain affects all aspects of life, physical, emotional, psychological, social and spiritual. Clinicians in
order to be effective need to understand these many aspects of pain management.

The Importance Of Financial Reimbursement
Financial Reimbursement The Affordable Care Act (ACA) has developed the plan to move from fee
for service to fee for quality. To improve quality of care, federal reimbursement programs have been
initiated. For example, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS) set up the Value Based
Purchasing program. This program has four domains: Clinical care, patient experience, safety and
efficiency (CMS, 2016). Each domain has reimbursement ties; this ensures hospitals are doing their
best to provide quality care. Another reimbursement model is insurance companies paying for
performance. Insurance companies look at high cost procedures or conditions and create patient
registries that collect data. This data is then used in determining best ... Show more content on

Using open communication ensures others are heard. The quality leader can learn from team members
different ways to meet pay for performance metrics. This situation used the mid level providers
expertise to determine where barriers occurred in the process. A barrier was determined to be the lack
of education on pay for performance metrics between mid level providers and residents on the
vascular surgery service. The mid level providers felt the residents lacked accountability in meeting
the quality metrics. A study by Vidyarthi, Green, Rosenbluth and Baron (2014) determined financial
reimbursement improved engagement of resident physicians in meeting quality metrics. Listening and
acknowledging this concern lead to a resident educational tool. The tool spelled out the expectations
of the service line related to the quality metrics. Communication of real time data on metric progress
also helped motivate this team. Once the process was in place, continuous monitoring of progress and
providing real time data allowed for mid level providers and residents to accept responsibility for this
metric. When providing care based on pay for performance, communication of metrics must be open
so the team understands the foundation of the requested practice change. Communication techniques
that encourage sharing of opinion, creates trust for a more collaborative approach. Healthcare is a

Keystone Cruiser
In American, summer may be the season for beer, but beer maker Keystone Light has found itself in
hot market competing against some major brands. With many of the premium brands upselling their
light beers, Keystone has been forced into a position where it must be bold if it wishes to survive. By
focusing on who the Cruiser is, and why they would enjoy Canhole, they can make a product that is
far more valuable than the premium beers that they are up against.
The essence of the Cruiser is that they are able to find enjoyment from the small things in life. The
cruiser does not need much and Canhole embodies that. While a premium beer drinker may need more
expensive and more elaborate means of entertainment, the cruiser can find enjoyment by utilizing a
cardboard box and some empty beer cans. The Cruiser is likely to be a person that believes in
simplicity, is friends and family oriented, and can laugh at themselves (Schiffman Wisenblit, 2014).

The Advantages Of Just In Time Manufacturing
Introduction Just In Time Manufacturing
Just in time manufacturing was a concept introduced to the United States by the ford motor company.
It works on a demand pull basis, contrary to hitherto used techniques, which worked on a production
push basis.
To elaborate further, under just in time manufacturing (colloquially referred to as just in time

Disadvantages Just In Time Systems
Following are the disadvantages of Adopting Just In Time Manufacturing Systems
Just in time manufacturing provides zero tolerance for mistakes, as it makes re working very difficult
in practice, as inventory is kept to a bare minimum.
There is a high reliance on suppliers, whose performance is generally outside the purview of the
manufacturer.
Due to there being no buffers for delays, production downtime and line idling can occur which would
bear a detrimental effect on finances and on the equilibrium of the production process.
The organization would not be able to meet an unexpected increase in orders due to the fact that there
are no excess finish goods.
Transaction costs would be relatively high as frequent transactions would be made.
Just in time manufacturing may have certain detrimental effects on the environment due to the
frequent deliveries that would result in increased use of transportation, which in turn would consume

Tao-Te Ching Morality
The idea of Taoism is expanded more through Stephen Mitchell s explanatory introduction of the Tao
Te Ching. Mitchell translates that the teaching of the Tao Te Ching is moral in the deepest sense and
that it is unencumbered by any concept of sin seeming to not reject that evil is alive but instead seeing
it as an a state of self absorption which is in disharmony with the universal process (ix). This idea is
expressing how being concerned with evil behavior should not be a priority and is not looked at when
dealing with Taoism and its teachings. Taoism is in no concern of moral being and does not look at
any type of higher power or code saying that what they are doing is wrong. There is a strong advocacy
and support to throw away morality and justice... holiness and wisdom... industry and profit and then
that is when everything will settle in place and people will do the right thing (19). ... Show more

Each verse of the classic text fit together seamlessly and seem to all relate back to one and other in the
end. Even though some may see morality as distinguishing between either good or bad, the Tao Ching
Te is a deeper sense of morality because it subtracts evil. The Tao Te Ching focuses on two things,
Tao, which is The Way of The Universe , and Te, The Virtue . In reference to Te, the virtue aspect of it
has to do with one not seeking to do good but knowing that there is good within him. Mitchell
translates The Master doesn t try to be powerful; thus he is truly powerful. The ordinary man keeps
reaching for power; thus he never has enough (38). This is a key component in the virtue aspect of
things how Stephen Mitchell introduced the text, stating its true depth in morality. The text teaches
that sin should not be at the forefront of ones mind in order to truly be moral and

Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez, a well-known painter...
Diego Rodríguez de Silva y Velázquez, a well known painter during the 17th century, was born in
Seville in 1599 (Brown 1). He was the eldest of the seven children, and the son of Silva and Jerónima
Velazquez (Brown 1). Both of his parents claimed to be descendants of lesser nobility, a claim that
Velázquez will later benefit from (Brown 1). During his time, painting was considered a craft, which is
work done with hands rather than the mind, meaning it was unworthy of a nobleman (Carr 26).
Velázquez was sent to Franciso Pacheco, a well known painter in Seville, as an apprentice (Carr 26).
Under Pacheco s teachings, Velázquez began to use everyday life as his subjects, which at the time
was something new; he painted tavern and kitchen scenes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
All of these fascinating qualities of Velázquez s paintings later influence Goya, Mazo, Juan Carreño,
and many more. Las Meninas, which means the maids of honor, is considered to be Velázquez s
masterpiece within has last few years (Harris 170). Most of the information we know today, come
form Palomino, who is the Court Painter to Phillip IV s successor, Chalres II (Harris 170). Palomino
even knew all of the people being portrayed except for one, and even gave the date when the painting
was completed, 1656 (Harris 170). The center of the piece is focused on the Infanta Margarita, the five
year old princess, who is surrounded by her two meninas, maids of honour. The menina standing on
the Infanta s left side, handing her a vessel of water while doing a curtsey is named María Aguestina
Sarmineto (Carr 47). The menina standing on her right look as if she is about to bend down to whisper
something to the princess or about to do a curtsy is named Isabel de Velasco (Carr 47). In the bottom
right corner of the painting are two dwarfs, Maribarbola and Nicolas Pertusato (Carr 47). Nicolas
appears to be awakening the mastiff (Carr 47). Palomino said that when the mastiff was being painted
it had stayed motionless (Harris 170). Standing behind them is Marcela Ulloa, who is the attendant to
the ladies in waiting, and a male escort who is not named (Carr 47). In the doorway of the painting

T Cells And Its Effect On The Risk Of Auto Immune Disorders
1.8.1 T cells origin and activation In the thymus, where the maturation of lymphocytes occurs after
both positive ( cells which capable to interact with MHC II or MHC I, can only survive) and negative
selection (removing any cells have affinity to bind with self MHC II or MHC I). However, any cell
escaping from the negative selection will tend to increase the risk of auto immune disorders. Then
these mature cells which are identified as naïve T cell (inactive T cells) are located in the secondary
lymphoid organs after the circulating migration from the thymus. After development, each T cells
have a unique form of T cell receptor (TCR) which cannot identify the antigenic peptides directly, thus
representing antigen specialized presenting cells (APC) such as dendritic cells (DCs) are required.
DCs have the ability of processing the antigen into peptide to be presented by MHC molecules and
they can migrate into the secondary lymphoid organs as well. A cascade of intracellular signalling
events are stimulated via TCR expression, leading to naïve T cell activation. The following sequences
of this activation include: proliferation (clonal expansion), migration into the site of invasion and
induction of T effector such as cell mediated cytotoxicity and cytokines upregulation. Cytotoxic CD8+

The Challenges with Waste Diversion from Landfill in Scotland
The adverse degradation of the environment as a result of human activities such as the disposal of
waste to the environment in an unsustainable manner. About 70% of waste (controlled waste) is land
filled in Scotland .The need to develop more robust waste management techniques to ensure that
waste disposal to the environment is carried in such a way that it does not endanger human health and
the environment. Land fill contributes substantially to the rising greenhouse gas which cause global
warming. European Union Council, after series of public consultation with relevant stakeholders, set
up a legislation known as the EU Waste Framework directive (75/442/EEC) in 1975 .It was amended
in 1991 and 2008.It aims at reducing waste to landfill ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In reference with the increase in population, there is also a corresponding increment of about 11 %
from 1996 to 2011.Rising household waste is associated with the increase in the number of household
generated within various councils in the WASG.The kind and amount of waste generated in this area is
highly enhanced by the economic, commercial and industrial activities. Employment statistical data
had shown that there has been a dramatic shift from industrial activities to more commercial activities
due to vast change in economic growth and commercial activities accounting for major waste
produced.
However, due to the low level of recycling and other practices in place to curb the wasted produced in
this area by local authorities, there has been a steady increase in the total waste generated which was
estimated at 5759 000 tonnes in 1998 with industrial waste taken the lead and the MSW accounted for
about 17%.As at 1998, about 96% of the total MSW were land filled while leaving about 4% recycled.
It implies that this area group largely depends on the landfill options for their waste disposal.
Approximately 60% of the MSW are transported to transfer stations where the waste are bulked and
shipped to landfill sites or incinerated. There

People Will Do Anything For Power
People will do anything for power. All over the world there are many different
types of power. Some countries have presidents, some have kings and queens, and some
have gods. Julius Caesar was a man that loves power. He loved thinking of himself above
everyone else, and everyone else adored him. The towns people cheered for him and
decorated the streets with his name. What Caesar didn t know was that there are some
people that didn t want him to come to power, and some of them might just be the Roman
Tribunes.
A Tribune was a Roman official whose job was to protect the people against
oppression by the patricians or nobles. The word tribune is connected to the word tribe.
In Latin the word for Tribune was tribunus, which means an officer connected with a
tribe, or someone that represented a tribe for specific purposes. Originally, a tribune
represented a tribe of rulers then later it became known as a variety of officers. The
tribunes were at first one, but their number was increased ultimately to ten. The
two most important were the tribunes of plebs and the military tribunes.
A Roman Tribune was a very high position. In certain ranks you had
certain jobs, for example if my ranking was Tribune my job was to assist the
legion commander, the Primus Pilus. If my ranking was Tribunus Cohortis I was
the commander of a Cohort military unit. Being a Roman Tribune gave you the
right to veto laws, command portions of the army, and eventually call

Essay On Immigrant Students In Secondary Schools
In this paper, I want to focus on Immigrant Students in Secondary Schools. As a previous high school
immigrant when I first arrived in United States, I have experience numerous difficulties in school that
I would never forget. In addition, I believe immigrant students of secondary school can face major
difficulties in learning English and succeeding in school. Since these students do not have a lot of time
than elementary students to learn English, and they have to pass several test that require English skill
such as the ACT and SAT. Above all, most secondary school texts and materials require a sufficient
English reading ability to understand, which will even make learning experience becoming even
tougher for high school immigrant. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is one personal story that I have never told anyone, because I feel kind of ashamed if I talk
about it. I actually have no knowledge of American History; even I went to the full four years public
high school in America. That is why I am questioning the education system in the United States.
Instead of spending countless periods in regular History and Biology classes without understand any
materials, why schools do not offer History and Biology classes but just for ESL student, using simple
and easier form of English to understand, so immigrant students can actually learn more about the
subjects. In the addition, schools should also give an instructional program that give English language
learners access to academic concepts and skills. Therefore, I certainly believe if there were program
and curricular alternatives for students with limited English proficiency, students would not
experience a difficult time with their school. Moreover, research has showed that due to these
difficulties that immigrant students have to face, there is a high dropout rates among language
minority secondary school students. For example, Hispanic students are more likely than White
students to leave school during their high school years (10% versus 4%; National Center for Education
Statistics, 1996). In 1994, the number of Hispanic students aged 16 24 who had not completed high
school and were not enrolled was 30%, as compared to 8% for White

John Steinbeck s Cannery Row
Cannery Row: Living Heaven on Earth
Cannery Row (1945), a novel written by John Steinbeck, Nobel Prize winner for Literature, is a book
without much of a plot. Instead, it s a novel where setting, atmosphere and most importantly character,
take precedence. Steinbeck creates a colorful array of characters struggling to understand their own
unique places in the world.
The story is set in the early 20th century, immediately following the Depression and World War II. The
characters live in Monterey, California amid the jumble of the sardine fisheries, the Palace Flophouses
, Lee Chong s grocery, Dora s whorehouse, and Doc s Biological Lab. Throughout the book, Steinbeck
has the uncanny ability to combine his characters ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Steinbeck frequently interrupts the flow of what could be considered the main story line, by throwing
short segments into the writing thus introducing a new character (usually not directly connected to the
primary story) or referencing some sort of cruel occurrence of real life. For example, in chapter twelve
Steinbeck writes about the death of Josh Billings, an author who had come to Monterey. After Billings
death, the doctor dumps his remains into a gulch, where a little boy and his dog later find them. The
little boy, not knowing any better, takes the author s remains to use them for fishing. Upon hearing
this, the town quickly collects all his insides and puts them in a leaden box, which was placed in Josh
Billings coffin.
The purpose of inserting this anecdote was to show the camaraderie and respect of the people in
Cannery Row. At one point in the story, Steinbeck writes, Josh Billings was a great man, a great
writer. He had honored Monterey by dying there and he had been degraded (64 65). Steinbeck
demonstrates that by creating an atmosphere of noble intentions and good feelings for one another,
everyone is able to live in a world of peace even when there are bad times.
Steinbeck spends the greater part of the book writing about a party that Mac and the boys plan to
throw for Doc. The boys believe that since Doc has always been such a nice guy that

Essay On Ultra Wide Monitor
5. Ultrawide VS 4k Montior Which one should I buy?
Well, they are both suitable for very different kind of users. Both of them offer a lot of screen space
for productivity. But an ultrawide is more recommended for multi tasking.
Sure, you can work with multiple applications on a 4K display, but it would be hard to read unless you
scale it. In short, more pixels doesn t mean you ll achieve higher productivity.
As for gamers, you need to know that between an ultra wide monitor or a 4K, the latter demands a
more powerful computer in order to fully enjoy the content.
With an ultrawide monitor, you won t need to upgrade your rig to enjoy the smooth gameplay
experience. Whereas with a 4K monitor; video games will look more stunning, but ... Show more

As for gamers, multiple monitors can be annoying for long gaming sessions since you ll have to
constantly move your head to enjoy everything that s happening on two or three different screens.
On the other hand, ultrawide monitor won t cause this kind of problem as a single curved screen offers
enough viewing space without the hassle of maneuvering your head all the time.
Also, unlike a multi monitor setup, ultrawide monitors will provide an immersive experience on a
giant single screen and that too without any bezels.
Moreover, you ll also get lots of features in an ultrawide gaming monitor like G Sync, Free Sync,
Gameplus Technology, Flicker Free technology, and gaming mode in the adjustment settings.
Combined, all of these features will give you a more enjoyable gaming experience than a dual or triple
monitor setup.
In short, I think buying an ultrawide unit is better than a multiple monitor setup for productivity and
gaming.
Even if it costs a bit more, the advantages of an ultrawide monitor give it an edge over a dual or triple
monitor setup.
Have you noticed that everyone is demanding for features like big screen, higher resolution, low
refresh rate and amazing picture quality in an affordable Monitor?
Up until now, 1080p IPS widescreens were the standard monitor for regular usage and gaming. But
today, you can find a

The Brain Regions
The Brain Regions and How It Works: The brain made up of highly specialized cells called neurons,
which conduct messages to other neurons of the body. Moreover, whatsoever we do based on how our
neurons communicate with each other. These neurons produce chemical signals (known as
neurotransmitters) and electrical impulses that carry messages across diverse parts of the brain and
within the brain and other parts of the body by crossing synapses and binding to receptors on the
dendrites of the receiving neuron. When the process does not work well, or the electrical signals do

Neurons of the PFC translate diversity of information necessary for the attainment of future goals such
as encoding delay and response to both human imaging and rodent electrophysiological measures of
global neuronal activity which increases delay related PFC activity. Consistent with excitatory actions
of stress related glucocorticoids on PFC neurons, stress does not only suppresses responses and
change the overall gain of medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) neuronal signaling, but results in a
fundamental shift in the manner in which the PFC represents information on stress. Studies on rats
prove that stress impairs prefrontal cortex dependent processes that support goal directed behavior.
According to David M. Devilbiss et al., results from pharmacological studies predict that stress
subdues delay related spiking activity through increased catecholamine receptor signaling. Based on
the, sixteen rats were trained to perform a continuous T maze, delayed non match to position task rats.
The rats were housed individually with environmental enrichment and maintained on a 13/11 h

The United States quickly became an ally with South Vietnam because they feared the spread of communism. • 10. Similarities And Differences Between The Chocolate War... The book The Chocolate War written by Robert Gormier, was made into a movie directed and scripted by Keith Gordon. Although the movie was based of the book there are many similarities and differences. Both the movie and the novel are about good versus evil. Keith Gordon added extra scenes as well as removing some to try and create an effective movie. The most obvious and major difference between the book and the movie is the boxing match. The purpose of the the fight was to raise money to buy Jerry s chocolates as he refused to sell them. In the book Archie wins the fight, but in the movie Jerry wins. In the book just before the fight scene Obie and Carter tell Archie to pick two marbles from the box and they were both white, whereas in the movie Archie picks a white and black marble and then has to fight Jerry in front of the entire school. Another difference in the fight scene is the support that each fighter is given. In the book when Jerry fights Janza, and is injured yet no one in the audience intervenes. In the movie after Jerry beats Archie, Archie is demoted from being the leader of The Vigils and Jerry is accepted by the other kids. This is shown when all the kids chant Jerry, Jerry once he had won the fight. Jerry also received acceptance and recognition from Brother Leon, this can be seen when Jerry is looking around at the crowd and sees Brother Leon giving him the thumbs up. They are found in government institutions, private businesses, professional groups and various other settings. Pensions funds can be found as a part of an institutions or as an independent plan. Pension plans are a major participant in the capital markets. For example, consider the fact that Ontario Teachers Pension Plan has a net asset value of $96.4 billion at the end of December 31, 2009. In the DC plan, the final benefits are unknown, but there are fixed contributions whereas in the DC plan, because there is promise of a numerical benefit, the contributions vary as a result of time value of money. This fundamentally means that the risk for the final benefit payout in the DB plan is borne by the employer whereas in the DC plan, the pensioner bears this risk (Beechy Conrad, 2008). Contributions to a pension fund are an expense for the employer, hence to describe in simple terms, on a per pay basis, an employer will credit the pension fund with amount of pension funds the employee is entitled to. This amount is the present value of the future payment stream payable to the employee upon retirement (Beechy Conrad, 2008). The present value calculations of these obligations require estimates of factors such as: investment earnings, future salary increases, employee turnover, mortality rates, and life expectancy after retirement (Beechy Conrad, 2008). Actuarial models are used to generate the probabilities used to calculate the pension obligation today, that will result in the promised payout in the future. While companies do not have to worry about the funding status of DC plans, those that offer the DB plan bear the perpetual burden of ensuring that the plans are funded. There are three basic actuarial methods that can be used by an employer to fund the plan. The first method is the accumulated benefit ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A report that was released by the United States Justice Department on February 12, 2016, showed that a Florida man pleads guilty to a hate crime for threatening to firebomb two mosques and shoot worshippers. The 43 year old man by the name Martin Alan Schnitzler was arrested by the FBI on November 17, 2015, after he made numerous threats to shoot children in the head and firebomb a mosque in Petersburg, Florida. In his two recorded messages, Schnitzler said that he is watching the news report that covered the terrorist attacks in Paris. In these attacks, 130 lives were lost while more than 300 were seriously injured. Those responsible for these series of attacks were members of a terrorist group known as the Islamic States of Iraq and Levant (ISIL). Since ISIL members claim to be practicing Muslims and also fighting for the cause of Islam (Jihad), Schnitzler showed the same enmity he has for the ISIL terrorists to his non violence Muslim neighbors. For this reason, he wanted to avenge the death of the victims of the Paris attacks by firebombing and shooting his Muslim neighbors two year old children in the head. After his arrest, he admitted that he violated these Muslims first Amendment (free exercise of religion) and also pleaded guilty to the hate crime charge. There have been many controversial figures throughout Canada s history, but Louis Riel is one of the most controversial figure. His perspective on how he dealt with manner is still debated today. A key aspect discussed today is why Riel is a hero to his people; the Métis. Moreover, the government s insufficiency caused Riel to act accordingly. Earlier, it was mentioned that the Canadian government was not authorized to take legal action until December of 1869. Though this was clearly recognized by the government, they sent surveyors in June of 1869 for settlers to live there. The government broke their own laws, hence it proves that Riel, due to the government s flawed intentions, had to enforce his rule, by stepping on the chains. Unit Two: The Development of Western Canada, on page 36 highlights that in 1882, surveyors came to the Métis peoples North West Settlements to examine the land once more. The Métis acted quickly and sent 15 petitions to the Canadian government for the rights of their land, none of which were answered. Once again, the government was incapable. The government could have prevented all the troubles, but due to their insufficiency and flawed system, they let the surveyors come onto the land. In addition to this, the government had signed many treaties with the Métis. But, the government, yet again, didn t keep their word and didn t follow the laws of giving them what the treaties had promised. To conclude, Riel was compelled to take arms. • 18. Children Should Make Our Children Every parent wants to have a healthy perfect child, but without vaccines we would have so many sick children that could die from the diseases that are out there today. If we all make sure our children have their vaccines we would save more lives, save money so that we are not trying to treat the diseases, and protect the future generations from the new diseases. When deciding whether or not to have our children get these vaccines, think about all the good things they do rather than the bad. No one wants to lose a loved one that has just passed of old age let alone passed because of something that could have been prevented by just a simple vaccine. All parents of children should make sure that they receive their vaccines because it will change people s lives, save our country a lot of money, and protect our future generations. Clearly, there are still plenty of people out there that are not vaccinated and they cannot wait too long to get their vaccines. The Center of Disease Control estimated that 732,000 American children were saved from death and 322 million cases of childhood illnesses were prevented between 1994 and 2014 due to vaccinations (Loria, 2014). Our country needs to come together to try to make our parents understand why we are pushing to have their children vaccinated so soon. It works on a demand pull basis, contrary to hitherto used techniques, which worked on a production push basis. To elaborate further, under just in time manufacturing (colloquially referred to as just in time production systems), actual orders dictate what should be manufactured, so that the exact quantity is produced at the exact time that is required. Just in time manufacturing goes hand in hand with concepts such as Kanban, continuous improvement and total quality management (TQM). There is a high reliance on suppliers, whose performance is generally outside the purview of the manufacturer. Due to there being no buffers for delays, production downtime and line idling can occur which would bear a detrimental effect on finances and on the equilibrium of the production process. The organization would not be able to meet an unexpected increase in orders due to the fact that there are no excess finish goods. • 25. Tao-Te Ching Morality The idea of Taoism is expanded more through Stephen Mitchell s explanatory introduction of the Tao Te Ching. Mitchell translates that the teaching of the Tao Te Ching is moral in the deepest sense and that it is unencumbered by any concept of sin seeming to not reject that evil is alive but instead seeing it as an a state of self absorption which is in disharmony with the universal process (ix). This idea is expressing how being concerned with evil behavior should not be a priority and is not looked at when dealing with Taoism and its teachings. Taoism is in no concern of moral being and does not look at any type of higher power or code saying that what they are doing is wrong. There is a strong advocacy and support to throw away morality and justice... holiness and wisdom... industry and profit and then that is when everything will settle in place and people will do the right thing (19). ... The Tao Te Ching focuses on two things, Tao, which is The Way of The Universe , and Te, The Virtue . In reference to Te, the virtue aspect of it has to do with one not seeking to do good but knowing that there is good within him. Mitchell translates The Master doesn t try to be powerful; thus he is truly powerful. The ordinary man keeps reaching for power; thus he never has enough (38). However, any cell escaping from the negative selection will tend to increase the risk of auto immune disorders. Then these mature cells which are identified as naïve T cell (inactive T cells) are located in the secondary lymphoid organs after the circulating migration from the thymus. After development, each T cells have a unique form of T cell receptor (TCR) which cannot identify the antigenic peptides directly, thus representing antigen specialized presenting cells (APC) such as dendritic cells (DCs) are required. DCs have the ability of processing the antigen into peptide to be presented by MHC molecules and they can migrate into the secondary lymphoid organs as well. A cascade of intracellular signalling events are stimulated via TCR expression, leading to naïve T cell activation. The following sequences of this activation include: proliferation (clonal expansion), migration into the site of invasion and induction of T effector such as cell mediated cytotoxicity and cytokines upregulation. Some countries have presidents, some have kings and queens, and some have gods. Julius Caesar was a man that loves power. He loved thinking of himself above everyone else, and everyone else adored him. The towns people cheered for him and decorated the streets with his name. What Caesar didn t know was that there are some people that didn t want him to come to power, and some of them might just be the Roman Tribunes. A Tribune was a Roman official whose job was to protect the people against oppression by the patricians or nobles. The word tribune is connected to the word tribe. In Latin the word for Tribune was tribunus, which means an officer connected with a tribe, or someone that represented a tribe for specific purposes. Originally, a tribune represented a tribe of rulers then later it became known as a variety of officers. The tribunes were at first one, but their number was increased ultimately to ten. The two most important were the tribunes of plebs and the military tribunes. A Roman Tribune was a very high position. In certain ranks you had certain jobs, for example if my ranking was Tribune my job was to assist the legion commander, the Primus Pilus. If my ranking was Tribunus Cohortis I was the commander of a Cohort military unit. Being a Roman Tribune gave you the right to veto laws, command portions of the army, and eventually call

In addition, I believe immigrant students of secondary school can face major difficulties in learning English and succeeding in school. Since these students do not have a lot of time than elementary students to learn English, and they have to pass several test that require English skill such as the ACT and SAT. Above all, most secondary school texts and materials require a sufficient English reading ability to understand, which will even make learning experience becoming even tougher for high school immigrant. ... I actually have no knowledge of American History; even I went to the full four years public high school in America. That is why I am questioning the education system in the United States. Instead of spending countless periods in regular History and Biology classes without understand any materials, why schools do not offer History and Biology classes but just for ESL student, using simple and easier form of English to understand, so immigrant students can actually learn more about the subjects. In the addition, schools should also give an instructional program that give English language learners access to academic concepts and skills. Therefore, I certainly believe if there were program and curricular alternatives for students with limited English proficiency, students would not experience a difficult time with their school. Moreover, research has showed that due to these difficulties that immigrant students have to face, there is a high dropout rates among language minority secondary school students. Instead, it s a novel where setting, atmosphere and most importantly character, take precedence. Steinbeck creates a colorful array of characters struggling to understand their own unique places in the world. The story is set in the early 20th century, immediately following the Depression and World War II. Steinbeck frequently interrupts the flow of what could be considered the main story line, by throwing short segments into the writing thus introducing a new character (usually not directly connected to the primary story) or referencing some sort of cruel occurrence of real life. For example, in chapter twelve Steinbeck writes about the death of Josh Billings, an author who had come to Monterey. After Billings death, the doctor dumps his remains into a gulch, where a little boy and his dog later find them. The little boy, not knowing any better, takes the author s remains to use them for fishing. Upon hearing this, the town quickly collects all his insides and puts them in a leaden box, which was placed in Josh Billings coffin. The purpose of inserting this anecdote was to show the camaraderie and respect of the people in Cannery Row. At one point in the story, Steinbeck writes, Josh Billings was a great man, a great writer. He had honored Monterey by dying there and he had been degraded (64 65). Steinbeck demonstrates that by creating an atmosphere of noble intentions and good feelings for one another, everyone is able to live in a world of peace even when there are bad times.
