There are roughly 7.4 billion people in the world, with over 6000 diverse cultures and societies.
Within these cultures lies languages and dialects. Sadly, there are serval hundred languages that have
faded away from a cultural society. This research paper analyzes the factors that lead to the death and
life of a language.

There are two different views on how human beings we were able to begin communicating with

These areas of Egyptian safe havens are modern day middle eastern countries. The Greeks did not last
very long for the Romans invaded and took over the Egyptian lands. So just for the Egyptian land
alone faced language changes from Egyptian/Hebrew, to Greek, to Latin.
Where did these languages come from? How did mankind go from paintings on caves to speaking so
many different languages?
Ever heard the story the Tower of Babel? The story begins with a nation of people speaking One
tongue coming together to build a tower to reach the heavens to escape the possible coming of the
second flight. However, God saw how powerful mankind can be when united togeather as one nation

original language spoken by the people of Babel was Hebrew. In Genesis 11:18 states that the world
had one language and a common speech. In verse two one can find the name of the land the Babel
people settled in was Shinar, Babylon. And the word Babel Is the Hebrew word for confusion. So, if a

What are some things most people live life without enjoying? Most of the time, it is the small things in
life. Many people go through life, focusing on a big grand picture, but fail to enjoy the little moments
in life that make them happy for just a second or will amuse them for awhile. In my opinion, if you
live life worrying about what people think about you, or changing your lifestyle to fit in then you are
not really enjoying life.
I know this to be true because when I first moved to Heath, I was trying to fit in with people and made
myself more like them rather than show them who I truly am. I realized quickly that if they didn t like
me for me then they were not the people I should hang out with. When I got into high school, I was
acting more like myself and was enjoying the little things that made me laugh or made others laugh.
That ranged from being able to crack a joke sometimes to even just enjoying the music in the library
and dancing a little to have some fun. I really think that no matter what we do in life there should
always be some time to do things that are just fun and they don t have to be on a big scale of events.
One of the things I do is I compete in different athletic events, and there are times that the guys from
the team will all go do something and I will just take off and go on my own and sit to watch the world
around me, listening as the world carries on. Something I know that I am guilty of is living life in the

Tone, By Richard Lovelace
Tone is a device used by authors in order to evoke emotions in their audience. The tone can be
anything but it greatly effects how the reader receives the message of the piece. For example I
analyzed two different poems, both with the same subject but with very different tones. The way I
received each poem was very different. The first, by Richard Lovelace titled To Lucasta had a
passionate tone while the second poem by Wilfred Owen titled Dulce et Decorum Est had a cynical
tone. The tones of these poems were created using similar literary devices but their results were very
different.
While short, Richard Lovelace says much through the tone in his 17th century poem To Lucasta. At
first glance the poem seems very organized with 3 stanzas each with 4 lines. Every other line rhymes,
which gives the audience a feel of playfulness and whimsy. One would assume that the message of the
poem would also be just as organized. However, the speaker seems to be battling with feelings of
regret and excitement. The overall tone of this poem seems to be apologetic yet passionate. The
speaker is apologetic about his decision to go to war but also seems to be passionate and enticed by
the thoughts of his new adventure. Lovelace uses imagery and figure of speech to create this tone by
depicting his life before the war and his life during the war as two different women. He begins his

In the Academy Award winning film Children of a Lesser God, Director Randa Haines characterizes
Sarah Norman (played by Marlee Matlin), as a rambunctious deaf woman without a purpose trying to
find a place to fit in. Sarah deals with a bottled up anger regarding the way people have treated her
throughout her life and uses her beauty and sex as a replacement to fill the void of the lack of
communication with hearing people. In order for Sarah to fit in and to feel accepted, she uses beauty
and sex with boys/men so they would like accept her due to her hearing disability. Sarah experiences
audism, low self esteem, and finally reaches her self actualization. In fact, Marlee Matlin is a deaf
actress who can speak and she does not play the character of Sarah as having an ability to speak. Her
role in the film shows a person with a disability can only succeed as a janitor or nail technician. Her
attitude displays anger which is clear in the scene when she throws pots in the school kitchen, leading
viewers to think that she has no self control or self esteem because of her hearing disability. The
principal, who is her employer, thinks Sarah cannot learn because of her disability and publicly

scholars (Ruby, 2006). The new hijab phenomenon originated in Cairo approximately two decades
ago. Although not a common practice in Cairo, by the year 2000 over 80% of women adopted some
form of veiling. The practice of veiling has also been embraced by several other Muslim societies
around the world (Carvalho, 2013). The Western world has associated veiling as a form of oppression,

that captures the serenity and mystic of Hanging Rock located in central Victoria, Australia and the
harshness and mystery of the Australian bush.
Picnic at Hanging Rock brilliantly captures the bush landscape and hot climate of Australia in multiple
high and low angled scenes throughout the entire film. The way the camera cleverly projects the scale
of the vegetation and rock compared to the size of the young girls shows the vast size and contrasts of
our Australian landscape. The blinding sun against some of the scenes causes the characters dizziness
and fatigue, surreally contrasting the rock s beauty and the danger it presents.
The composer, Peter Weir also creates a dense, dream like atmosphere throughout the film that forever
is on the verge of intoxicating the viewers, as is does the lead characters, in an overpowering sense of
