Characteristics Of Soccer
Characteristics of soccer
Soccer possibly is one of the most famous sports around the world. However, we usually hear that
some talented soccer players like Marco Van Basten, Michael Owen and Ronaldo need to retire or the
performance is seriously affected due to different kinds of injuries.
Types of Injury, Mechanism of injury, Cause of injury, Risk factors ... etc)
According to the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and research data by John
Miller, there are some common injuries affecting soccer players which mainly focus on the legs, for
example, knee injuries, ankle injuries and hamstring injuries.
Ankle sprains usually happen when the sole of the foot rolls under, damaging the lateral ligaments of
the ankle, for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
70% of all ACL injuries happen without collision with another player as a result of football involving
lots of one step stop deceleration, sudden change of direction, landing from a jump with the knee and
hip at extension or a lapse of concentration. Besides tearing the ACL, we need to know any knee
injuries can cause a player to be sidelined from training and competitions for a long period
unfortunately. Therefore, the knee injuries usually are the main cause to break the careers of soccer
players. (Source: http://www.englewoodortho.com)
Although hamstring strains (muscle group at the back of your thigh) will not seriously affect the
careers of soccer players, they still make lots of players endure torment on it. The reason is that
hamstring strains easily occur when the thigh muscles of a player are not strong enough. This situation
usually happens when the player lacks time for recovery between training and competitions or
receives excessive intensity training or matches when the player recently recovers from injuries.

Changes Between Civil War And Reconstruction In Indian...
Essay A 1 Although the horrors of the American Civil War and Reconstruction within Indian Territory
were fresh. Yet, the presence of Indian Territory changed drastically between 1865 and 1889, because
of the Second Trail of Tears , the unrest of the Southern Plains tribes of western Indian Territory, and
the impact of U.S. Polices on Indian Territory.
The Indian Nations lost nearly half their land due to the Reconstruction treaties of 1866, which
required the land lost to be used for resettlement of more Indian tribes. Indian populations within
Indian Territory did not change much from 1865 to 1900, but the non Indian populations soon
outnumbered the Indian populations six to one (Baird and Goble, p 126). Lane Pomeroy Plan pushed
by the Kansas representatives, James Lane and Samuel Pomeroy, to pressure the Federal government
to remove more Indians to Indian Territory (Baird and Goble, p 131). The Homesteading movement
increased pressure to relocate Indians to Indian Territory to open up more lands in surrounding states
for settlement. Upwards to 15,000 Indians were relocated to Indian Territory during the Second Trail
of Tears (Baird and Goble, p 131). The increased diversity between Indian tribes and the growing non
Indian population created a tension for Indians to maintain control of Indian Territory, which grew
worse as the territory edged closer to statehood.
The Second Trail of Tears, like the first, were done in a series of waves of forced and voluntary

The Pros And Cons Of Trans Fats
According to the Mayo Clinic article Trans Fat is unhealthy for the heart and cholesterol. It affects the
arteries and cholesterol levels. Excessive consumption of trans fats can lead to heart disease and
increase level of the bad cholesterol and low levels of the good cholesterol.
Most of the trans fat is found in processed and packaged food and is evident that this is a major cause
of heart disease. In early years, most people were not aware of the consequences of trans fats; today
there is more awareness and the FDA has now required food manufactures to display trans fat in
processed, package foods. The FDA continues to work on the elimination of trans fat to completely
banning it from being used in processed, package foods. (Forbes,

The Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy
Central Theme In the article, The Five Competitive Forces that Shape Strategy, Michael Porter argues
that the five forces are an important element for managers and investors in the business industry.
Porter stated that it is important to understand the competitive forces, and their underlying causes
which many companies will use to determine if they will gain profit or not (Porter 80). Companies
determine their profitability of the industry through the level of the force that they face. For instance,
when the forces are favorable, most companies will be profitable. Porter gives a detail description of
the five forces and explains the importance of each force. The five forces are the threats of new
entrants, the power of the buyers, the power of the suppliers, the threats of substitute for products or
services, and the rivalry among existing competitors. Porter believes that a company strategist who
understands the competition extends well beyond existing rivals will detect wider competitive threats
and be better equipped to address them (Porter 93). In other words, when strategists understand the
different forces it will benefit them to make better decisions and to be ready to face the different
challenges between competitors. In the article, Porter s main goal is to present the importance of the
five forces to the audience.
Critical Analysis There are many strengths and weaknesses in this article. One of the major strengths
is that Porter organize his arguments in

Government Agency Analysis
During the creation of the constitution Congress was given the authority to develop a system to
conduct daily obligations to govern this nation. In 1789 Congress created the Department of State
being the first of more than 2,000 agencies and departments. The federal bureaucracy is part of the
executive branch run by the president of the United States. It is broken into four main types the
Cabinet departments, government corporations, independent agencies, and regulatory commissions.
The Cabinet department includes 15 departments that are broken into bureaus, divisions and sections
for example Department of Justice (FBI) and Homeland Security (US Customs and Border Patrol).
In addition there are also government corporations that are divided in sponsored, owned, and acquired
corporations. Government sponsored corporations like Fannie Mae and ... Show more content on

These agencies are meant to be more precise on the individual mission rather than that of a
department. The Selective Service System is an agency that provides manpower to the military in case
of an emergency (hc.org). Another famously known example is the Central Intelligence Agency(CIA)
which provides national security intelligence to US policymakers (hc.org).
The function of a regulatory commissions are to enforce laws to privately own corporations that affect
the safety and interest of the nations citizens. In fact commissions like the Federal and Drug
Administration(FDA) who enforces and administers all federal food, drug and cosmetic, and the
Nuclear Regulatory Commission who regulates and licenses all civilian nuclear facilities.
Most will say that the federal bureaucracy seems oversize and even may lack efficiency, many have
tried to change it, but have failed. Just like most things in the government everything has to have

Examples Of In-Depth Interview
To answer my research question, I chose semi structured in depth interviews because it particularly
lends itself to exploring challenging and complex life situations such as the return to work following
parental leave. According to Valerie Yow, the recorded in depth interview can offer answers to
questions that no other methodology can provide (Yow 2005, 9). In her introductory chapter on in
depth interviewing, Yow specifically mentions complex decisions as a case where in depth interviews
allow us to pose questions that remain invisible in statistics and official records. Thus, while the
OECD family database statistics might provide us with useful information about Hungarian mothers
decisions concerning employment, in my research I would like to ask women to explain the various
and differing factors contributing to these choices. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Literary Britic And Literary Criticism Of Arthur Miller
Literary Criticism
Arthur Miller has been nominated as one of the major dramatists of the twentieth century. He is an
American playwright, editor, essayist, and novelist who earned his reputation for more than sixty
years. He was a dramatist who believes to bring change to society by speaking about real issues that
occur in society. Miller best known plays are The Crucible , Death of a Salesman , All of my Sons ,
and The View from the Bridge . He was once married to the sex icon Marilyn Monroe which gave him
a temporarily Hollywood spotlight for his work and personal relationship. Sadly, Miller died in 2005
at the age 89 due to heart failure. Although his plays are memorable and recreated in today history.
Miller s theater work has been strongly influenced by a particular life experience that motivated him
to become this influential playwright and novelists. He was born and raised in New York City in 1915.
Miller was living comfortably until his father business hit rock bottom during the Great Depression.
For that reason, Miller allows writing to become an outlet during the hardship of the Great
Depression. He later took the opportunity to attend the University of Michigan and prove to himself
that he is capable of college work his freshman year. Starting from there, Miller turned his hands into
playwriting and major in English. He had a couple of setbacks during college but that encourage him

The Good Earth Essay
A person s identity is a mask on their lives; underneath that mask lies the unadulterated version of a
human s existence all people go through similar tragedies, deal with the same emotions, and are in a
constant pursuit of happiness and success. As The New York Times puts it, the novel The Good Earth
by Pearl S. Buck is a comment upon the meaning and tragedy of life as it is lived in any age in any
quarter of the globe. Set in the early twentieth century in rural China, this story follows the life of the
poor farmer Wang Lung and his family. During Wang Lung s search for prosperity, several mishaps

tumultuous life, and ultimately, Wang Lung s ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the beginning of the novel, Wang Lung simply thinks that she is a good wife, but once he becomes

any beauty. He feels bitter towards her, and takes in the beautiful concubine, Lotus. However, once O
Lan falls terminally ill, he begins to treat her with more respect, knowing that her death was imminent.
After her death, Wang Lung finally acknowledges that O Lan was a unique woman. Certain events

E-Procurement Tools
There are a large number of E procurement tools that could be distinguished in the marketplace (de
Boer et al., 2001). Some of them are already well developed and highly accepted in the marketplace;
nonetheless, there are numerous E procurement tools that are immature and require further
development (Wang, 2006). For the purpose for this paper, we aim to focus on the E procurement
tools that are widely accepted in the government and private sectors. The four most common E
procurement tools being used consist of E Sourcing, E Tendering, E Reverse Auction and E
Collaboration (Boer et. al., 2001). The description of the four E procurement tools would be provided,

E Reverse Auction Compared to E Tendering, E Reverse Auction is another form of E procurement
tool that allows the purchasing company to use internet technology to purchase products and services
that either have the lowest price or a combination of low price and other important conditions such as
the quality of the products and services (Knudsen, 2003). Diagram 1.3. provides a snapshot of the
comparison between different forms of auctioning.
Figure 1.3. Comparison between traditional auction and reverse auction
E Reverse auction is the opposite of traditional auction. A traditional auction usually involves a seller
offering one or more items for sale in the marketplace, and there will be multiple potential buyers
compete for the purchase of the item(s) being offered (de Boer et al., 2001). The price is driven up
until a stage that no buyers are willing to offer a higher price (de Boer et al., 2001). EBay and
Amazon.com could be well known examples of traditional auction on the Internet. In contrary, reverse
auction is a process which there are multiple sellers are competing for the business of one single
buyer. At such, the price is driven down until there are no sellers willing to bid any lower (Merson,
2000). According to

Substitution Reactions ( Sn2 And Sn )
Using various alcohols, the substitution reactions (Sn2 and Sn) were utilized by helping with which
functional groups reacted, in which way. Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed.
This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When
a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (σ) bond with another sigma (σ) bond. In
substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1
and Sn2.
A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate
determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the
final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction
has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the
final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously).
The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and
Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2
reactions.
While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl
1 propanol has a melting point of 18°C. It also has a boiling point of 119°C. The density of the alcohol

and advocacy has recently come more into focus, as celebrities such as Demi Lovato are using their
voice to speak out and make an impact in our world. Demi inspires and advocates for those who are
too ashamed and too scared to stand up for themselves. In November 2010 after an intervention by her
family and friends, Demi Lovato checked herself into a treatment facility to receive support for her
severe depression, bulimia, anorexia and cutting (Vena). Since she left the program in January 2011,
she has been an extreme advocate in the fight for mental health awareness (MacKenzie). On
September 4th 2014, the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) honored her for her actions,
encouragements, and support efforts. She is one of the leaders in the movement, and is not backing
down from the fight. With her influential status, Demi Lovato spoke at the NAMI National
Convention in support to effectively decrease the stigma of mental illness by education and providing
awareness to implement a much needed change in our world.

How Does Cool Hand Luke Symbolism
Stuart Rosenberg, the director of the film Cool Hand Luke crafted a suspenseful masterpiece that
leaves viewers questioning how closely the symbolism correlates to Biblical stories. As the film
progresses, Rosenberg peels back the layers of the main character s personality, who is better known
as Luke. Film critic Tim Dirks states, Rich religious symbolism, references and imagery are deeply
embedded within the narrative, with some critics arguing that Luke represents a modern day,
messianic Christ figure who ministers to a group of disciples and refuses to give up under oppression
(1). Director Rosenberg uses the symbolism theme throughout the entire film by displaying well

Queer Representation Of All Age Media Essay
Queer Representation in All Age Media Growing up as a Catholic, Puerto Rican gay boy in the 90s
and early 2000s, I struggled to discover my queer identity as well as queer representation in the media
I consumed. Being gay was something that was never discussed. If it was brought up, it was usually in
hushed tones (I remember being introduced to my uncle s close friend each holiday) or as something
negative (I still remember the sting of being called a faggot in elementary school). This reflected
exactly how homosexuality was portrayed in media at the time. Queer characters and homosexuality
were at best portrayed in codified, blink and you ll miss it labels and affectations, or at worst,
something to laugh at, pity or even hate. As someone who still regularly reads comics, watches
Saturday morning cartoons and play video games, it is so exciting to discover the lengths of progress
that has been made in queer representation in all age media. In this paper I hope to detail the highs and
lows of LGBTQ representation in all age media and highlight the positive and negative impact of
media representation. Before we can look forward, we must look back at queer representation of the
past. The late film scholar Vito Russo painstakingly researched the evolution of queer representation
in cinema in his landmark book The Celluloid Closet. In both the book and its documentary of the
same name, Russo details the earliest portrayal of homosexuality in

Personal Narrative Essay On Alcatraz
I was on the ferry boat with my dad, I was eating snacks my dad packed. My heart was beating like

A Review On Vitiligo Therapy
Introduction
Vitiligo is a disease in which the skin begins to lose pigment because melanin producing cells,
melanocytes, are absent or nonfunctional, leaving patches of white areas throughout the body.
Recently, ultraviolet B phototherapy (UVB) has been used to target areas of lesions in order to
repigment and stabilize vitiligo. This paper presents a review on vitiligo therapy that focuses on the
effects of ultraviolet B light and aims to examine the success rate of this specific therapy. In particular,
it will evaluate how UVB exactly induces melanocyte proliferation, whether the frequency of the
therapy or the total amount of sessions contribute to repigmentation, whether treatment can be
improved with the addition of a topical, and how stable the treatment is.
Treatment of vitiligo is done to control the progress of the disease and to achieve repigmentation in
lesions that have formed. An effective form of therapy is targeted UVB phototherapy which is based
on the finding that ultraviolet light can induce melanin synthesis leading to repigmentation.
Melanocyte loss in vitiligo is caused by immune attack operated by melanocyte specific T cells, innate
immunity, and melanocyte specific antibodies [5]. The therapy helps initiate a process known as neo
melanogenesis in which melanoblasts multiply and travel along the infundibulum outer root sheath to
the interfollicular epidermis in order to repopulate the epidermal areas as a response to DNA damaged
by UV light. (Brenner

Analysis Of Alice Walker s The Color Purple
Thriving or Surviving: An In Depth look at Alice Walker s The Color Purple One might think that a
childhood of sexual violence, emotional abuse, and rape would make a character dark and embittered;
however, in Alice Walker s The Color Purple, the author explores the thin gray line that stands
between surviving and thriving. Manipulating her characters so that they are constantly crossing the
line back and forth. It is her protagonist, Celie, who imbues the reader with a pondering of the human
condition, allowing for an introspective look at empowerment. Framing this bildungsroman in the
form of letters, Walker s dramatic shifts reveal the religious and sexual bondage the protagonist is
chained to. In this novel, Walker uses the pain, sorrow, and abuse of Celie to demonstrate the constant
struggle that is waged between surviving and thriving in every shift of her life.
While Celie s childhood remains an abusive saga, one will find an undying sense of optimism.Walker
explores Celie s childhood which is lived primarily in survival mode. Celie s brutal upbringing gives
her a maternal authority, as the reader continuously sees the absence and resentment from her mother
And now I feels sick every time I be the one to cook. Mama always fussing at me and looking at me

her father. While the main character is unaware of her condition, her mother is completely aware. As

Analysis Of This Way For The Gas Ladies And Gentlemen
This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen by Tadeusz Borowski, published in 1959, is a short story
about a concentration camp prisoner s experience working on Canada, the group of inmates
responsible for helping unload the incoming prisoner transports. The narrator bares witness to many
atrocities throughout the story, which are made more impactful to the reader through Borowski s use
of impactful dialogue, figurative language, casual and matter of fact tone, and repetition. These
literary elements allow Borowski to draw the reader in more than he would otherwise, and make them
feel almost as if they are experiencing the horrors along with him. With few exceptions, every line of
dialogue in the passage starts on it s own new line. This, combined with a lack of says or said in most
cases, gives the dialogue a pointed and natural feeling. This has a couple of effects on the reader. First,
it allows the reader to be more invested in the characters and the narrative that is playing out. They are
able to feel closer to the action because of a lack of Henri said or I said getting in the way every line.
This helps with the flow of the story while it is being consumed. For example, Schade, too bad. Come,
come, Herr Posten, isn t my word good enough any more? Haven t we done business before? How
much? One hundred. Gemacht? Gemacht. (698) The dialogue above is casual and welcoming. In
context, when the reader is aware it is a conversation between two characters, it

Who Is A Romantic Hero
My Kinsman, Major Molineux by Hawthorne is a tale of a young country bred man, who goes by the

where his kinsman lived all they would do is laugh. The protagonist eventually finds his kinsman, but
Major Molineux is tarred and feathered. The young man realizes his kinsman is not as well respected

This quote shows his naive and innocent nature due to the fact he did not know what type of place he
was at. His innocence is shown by this situation due to the fact he did not realize this setting is a

is another trait of a Romantic hero. The young man of this tale shows distrust of women through his
actions of talking to the mistress in this tale. The example for this is, Now, truly, I am in luck, replied
Robin, cunningly, and so indeed is my kinsman, the Major, in having so pretty a housekeeper. But I
prithee trouble him to step to the door; I will deliver him a message from his friends in the country,

and the domestic sphere. Romantic heroes often distrust women because women represent civilization,
and this represents cities versus the country. The distrust of women can lead to the distrust of urban
settings. Romantic heroes

something new and innovative. (Dickson Pollack, 2000) add to this statement in relation to sports
garments with female consumers regarding aesthetic aspects such as style and brand characteristics to
be more essential than the functional aspects such as comfort and other physical performance
enhancing features. Similarly (Eckma et al., 1990) reports on the evaluation of purchase behaviour in
women s apparel. Style was chosen as more important in determining rejection or adoption of the
garments. A visual criterion seems to have the greatest impact on selection of apparel such as fashion
ability or popularity, aesthetic appeal, and self expression (Eckma et al., 1990). Although it seems
there is a divide in opinion when it comes to retail pricing the majority of research studies seems to
suggest there is a major emphasis on the aesthetic appearance.

Poem Essay On Venom
Venom
You open your eyes. You re not really sure what just happened. The last thing you remember is
stepping in some weird puddle of goo accidentally, and then that goo started engulfing your leg with
the rest of your body quickly following suit. Looking down, you see that you re still covered in the
strange slime.
That s when you feel another presence in your mind.
It starts communicating with you, explaining that it s an alien organism that was somehow stranded on
earth. lt is a symbiote, and requires a host to bond with to survive. You were just the first person it
came across. You get something out at this deal as well though. lt grants you a variety of powers and

What you choose to do with these abilities is completely up to you.
Every symbiote is different from each other, and they have different personalities. just like people.
1. VENOM
You re not actually Venom s first host. It may already had a very complicated relationship with the
first person it attempted to bond with, and they eventually rejected and abandoned it. It had some other
hosts after that, but nothing that really stuck for one reason or another. It just wants someone to be
with and to actually want it. A true symbiotic relationship. That being said. it will never forget its first,
and if it ever sees its first host, it will freak out, and you ll freak out along with it.
2. Carnage
The Carnage symbiote is the most unstable of all the symbiotes. It actually seems to enjoy when you
engage in any sort of physical violence. That being said, it forms an incredibly strong relationship
with its host, binding on an almost molecular level, meaning you can never truly be separated. It will
be more than willing to kill to protect you, and bathe in the blood of your enemies. Because of your
strong bond though, it amplifies your emotions much less than most other symbiotes, but it will

Gifted Program Research Paper
Debriefing the interview responses from our county AIG coordinators proved to be enlightening.
There were many points of commonality between their evaluation of our gifted program, and my own
personal evaluation, but there are also points of contradiction. One particular point I agree with is that
a major strength of our gifted program is that our district is diligently working to improve the
program, within our capabilities. We are of course, limited by financial resources and time, of which
our coordinators have little control. In an attempt to be more responsive to the needs of our district,
and more inclusive, in 2016, our district adopted a new identification process for the gifted program
that included three different pathways to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The only way to have an alternate aptitude test administered in DCS is to seek private testing with an
educational psychologist, to the tune of approximately $1,000. This puts a large majority of the
underrepresented at a distinct disadvantage as well. Not to mention, the irony! We are testing so we
know how best to differentiate instruction to meet the individual needs of our students, yet we don t
differentiate the testing? Another weakness stated by our coordinators is lack of teacher training, and it
is also mentioned that we are focusing our professional development as a district, on differentiation.
Yet here we are, giving everyone the same test, even if we know it s not in their best interest. All
students who qualify and are identified are provided services on an Individual Differentiated
Education Plan (DEP). These DEPs are also intended to provide social and emotional support goals
for gifted students, but I don t believe I ve ever seen a single DEP with one of these goals. Overall, our
district continues to make great strides, and genuinely needs to make many more to address the
weaknesses of our AIG program. We have a good amount of resources at our disposal in the county
for our gifted population. The most important resource for any gifted program is personnel, and it is
our biggest resource weakness. Our AIG Specialists are split between schools and pulled in so many
different directions. I feel they could be much

Debate on School Uniforms
However, most public schools are turning to something more casual and more acceptable to parents
and students: khakis or jeans and knit shirts of varying colors. The latter appear to be more affordable
too because they can be used outside of school. Many school districts that have implemented school
uniforms have provided some sort of financial assistance for families that can not afford the extra
expense.
2. Potential Benefits of School Uniforms
• Decreasing violence and theft because of clothing and shoes
• Instilling discipline among students
• Reducing need for administrators and teachers to be clothes police (for example, determining
whether shorts are too short, etc.)
• Reducing distractions for students

Students are made to feel as if they are a part of a team by wearing a uniform. School climate is
improved considerably because kids perceive that they fit in because they look like everybody else If
students were dressed in uniforms, there would also not be the distraction of revealing clothing that
often appears in the hallways of our public schools Too many students are preoccupied with how they
look and what they wear, rather than their studies. Schools have become a stage for the latest fashion
parade, deflecting away the attention from learning and achieving educational goals
School uniforms can create a sense of togetherness in a school building. The gap between the haves
and the have nots is narrowed due to uniforms School uniforms can be purchased at one third the cost
of most school outfits that are purchased in department stores. Three school uniforms can be
purchased for under a hundred dollars. Uniforms promote a down to business atmosphere because kids
view them as work clothes rather than play clothes. I don t really think that they re going to act better
because of what you re wearing. You re still the same person inside. You re just wearing something
different.
Economic distinctions are part of the fabric of our society, and they will not be unraveled by covering
them with a uniform.
Critics of school uniforms also say that growing up through the adolescent years and experimenting
with clothing is a normal,

The Devil In The White City Critical Analysis
Two stories focusing on horrific murder share more than just that similarity. The Devil in the White
City is a novel by Erik Larson that focuses on America s first serial killer, Herman Webster Mudgett,
most commonly known as H. H. Holmes. It alternates telling of the construction of the Chicago World
Fair contrasting with the horrendous murders of the man that essentially invented the term psychopath.
On the other hand, The Hound of Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle focuses on the tale of
Sherlock Holmes and John Watson as they try to solve the mystery surrounding the death of Charles
Baskerville. These themes are linked through murder and the British surname Holmes, an alias taken
from Doyle s stories to claim to have land in England.

Music Education Essay
Education is the foundation that our entire society is built on. Without education, society could not
grow and prosper. Without education, we wouldn t have things like electricity, plumbing, or any other
common amenities that is present in our society today. Education is important to not only the children
receiving it, but to their parents and members of the community as a whole. Education is offered to
many in U.S. thanks to public education, and laws that say children must be in school until they are

( Why Teach Music).
The fact that music incorporates all these different subject areas is just one reason why it helps in other
subjects. Music affects children in many ways. Children who study music have a larger vocabulary
and better reading skills than students who do not study music. This helps them improve their essay
writing, which is an important skill to have in high school and college. Studying music also helps the
brain comprehend speech when there is noise or other distractions going on. This means that there is
an even greater benefit to music education for kids with learning disabilities or children who lose
focus easily. Music education also affects the way a persons brain comprehends the human language.
This allows students to have an easier time learning a second language, which is now a very important
skill to have when applying for jobs. Another benefit is that students who study music have a higher
level of self esteem, and are therefore more confident around others and more willing to express
themselves personality wise and they are more willing to express ideas they have. They are also then
more willing to work as a team. Schools with music programs have, about, a twenty seven percent
higher graduation rate and a nine percent attendance rate than schools without a music program (11

The Capital Structure Decision Of Firms With Powerful Ceos
Methodology This study looks for evidence that the capital structure decision of firms with powerful
CEOs has a negative effect of corporate performance. Ho: CEO power and Leverage have no effect on
performance. Ha: CEO power and Leverage have an effect on performance. In order to test this
hypothesis, an OLS regression model is used, where the dependent variable is performance and the
independent variables include: (1) the existence of powerful CEOs, (2) leverage, (3) the relationship
between these two and (4) some control variables. Table 1 summarises all variables included in the
regression function and the rationale behind the selection of each one of them. Dependent Variables
Empirical researchers use a variety of performance measurements among which stands out the
accounting ratio of ROA. Additionally, as the firms objective is increasing value in benefit of its
owners, the Tobin s Q ratio is also used as a measure of market value of the firm, following the
approach of Morck, Shleifer and Vishny (1988) and Gompers, Ishii and Metrick (2003). Independent
Variables Leverage is measured by the ratio of total debt to total asset, and the CEO dominance is
accounted by a proxy which is a binary variable that takes the value of 1 when the CEO was also the
chairman of the board in of the 7 years from 2008 and 2014 and 0 otherwise. Power under this settings

Justice Of God By Ayatullah Naser Makarer
Within Justice of God by Ayatullah Naser Makarer Shirazi, the Justice of God is analyzed through
many subtopics of philosophies which all connect back to Allah s attribute of being Adl or Just. Justice
has two meanings that differ throughout the span of the book. The first one is to put everything in its
place which in other words means to balance and create symmetry between everything. The second
definition is following individual rights which means everyone deserves to be treated equally and the
opposite of that would be to take away their rights and only allow a sole group those rights. Now the
significance of God s Justice is neither to remove all the rights or give all the rights to one group that s
discriminated against others. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Their are many sources of oppression and how it starts. These include ignorance, need, inability, and
selfishness. Sometimes the oppressor is ignorant of what he is doing and in truth does not know what
they are doing. Another one is that if the oppressor has to commit this act in order to attain something
that someone else has which results in oppression, but if he was self sufficient they would have no
need to commit oppression. Inability is when someone is not willing to have the rights of another
taken but can t do anything about it, so he has to commit oppression. Selfishness is when someone is
bearing a grudge against a group of people like seeking revenge so they commit oppression against
that group of people. These are the many reasons why oppression occurs within this world.
One philosophy discussed are natural calamities such as earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsunamis which
happen all over the world and are used to prove that Gods s Justice did not exist. They also used
natural disasters to prove that God doesn t exist. Another philosophy which is examined in this
publication is the difficulties faced in life and how the justice of God justifies them. For example, war
is terrible and tears apart lives but sometimes a difficult and long war causes a nation to blossom and
become united due to that difficulty. If we analyze the lives of the most successful people in this
world, behind them we will see many failures

Daniel Levinson s Theory Of Middle Adulthood
Middle adulthood refers to the time period between 45 and 65, in which adults have settled down and
are now contemplating their place in the world. It s during middle adulthood that adults now are faced
with the effort of passing on something meaningful to future generations. The theories associated with
middle adulthood describe the different aspects that are important during middle adulthood, from
personality development to vital relationships. Examining these aspects can help one to gain a better
understanding of the development that occurs during middle adulthood. One theory that describes the
way in which personality develops during this time is Erikson s theory. Erikson s theory refers to
middle adulthood as the stage of generativity versus stagnation; generativity describes the passing on
of a legacy from one generation to the next, where stagnation is the lack of passing on such a legacy.
Generativity can be accomplished by bearing offspring, guiding and nurturing children, and passing
on life skills and culture. It s during this stage that adults try to lead the next generation by teaching,
guiding, and participating in activities that benefit the community (Santrock, 2017, pg. 487).
Another theory associated with personality during middle age is Daniel Levinson s Seasons of a Man s
Life. According to Levinson s theory, there are seven stages of life, with each stage consisting of a
transitional period and a stable period. The first of his seven stages is the

Glorification Of Nature In Rime Of The Ancient Mariner
The power and glorification of nature and how it can be a spiritual source of renewal for individuals is
highlighted through the works of artists of the Romantic period. Rime of the Ancient Mariner by
Samuel Coleridge and Blueback by Tim Winton both display the influences that nature can have on an
individual, spiritually and emotionally, and presents a clearer understanding of the natural world.
The poem by Samuel Coleridge, Rime of the Ancient Mariner depicts a strong belief and interest in
nature and how the natural world can be a place where God can be found. The contrast between the
language of the quotes slimy things and O happy living things demonstrates this change in perspective
as the narrator realises the beauty of nature. During his punishment, the Mariner was able to see the
real beauty of nature and as a result, he had the ability to rejoice and pray about what he was seeing.
By recognising the elegance in the environment that surrounded him, it enabled the Mariner to be free
from his imprisonment. Like the belief in God, the Mariner first feared but finally loved the natural
elements of the world. Throughout the journey, the wonder and beauty of nature and how it can be a
spiritual finding is brought into focus.
Through the use of a metaphor in the quote As if it had been a Christian soul, we hailed it in God s
name. it reveals that the albatross was seen as a connection to God. The albatross was seen as a good
omen and it was the first sign of life

Social Service Initiatives Essay
Social Service Initiative
The Constitution was designed long before social equality was ever thought of as an objective of
government. The Constitution was eventually changed to incorporate a key element for the promotion
of social equality. The income tax: the Sixteenth Amendment of (1913), gave Congress the power to
collect income tax. Progressive taxation, where the tax rate increases with the increase in income,
gave progressive taxation a constitutional basis. This later helped to promote social equality through
the redistribution of income. This means that higher income people are taxed at a higher rate to help
fund the programs that benefit low income people.

Researchers have determined that social insurance, or transfer of payments, has had a definite effect in
reducing income equality. Social Service Initiatives dates back to the Industrial Revolution and large
scale factory production. The impact of social service initiatives, some say is a failure to limit
discretionary spending in any category of the government s budget. Congress usually constructs a
deficit reduction plan which establishes another tax rate for those with the highest income. No one
likes to pay taxes. To compare tax burdens, the U.S. burdens are not large compared to other
democratic nations. Another impact of social programs on the federal deficit is to raise taxes to meet
obligations, increased borrowing through general obligation bonds, and nonguaranteed bonds. General
obligation bonds are for long term debt that is guaranteed by the issuing government. In addition, most
of the federal government expenditure for social programs is spent on Social Security to care for the
elderly. Is this a burden we should place upon all the citizenry ? I believe this question is more about a
duty, a responsibility, and a function of government. The federal spending on education and job
training is

Federal Bureau of Investigation and White Collar Crimes
White Collar Crime White Collar Crime White Collar Crimes are those illegal acts which are
characterized by deceit, concealment, or violation of trust and which are not dependent upon the
application or threat of physical force or violence. Individuals and organizations commit these acts to
obtain money, property, or services; to avoid the payment or loss of money or services; or to secure
personal or business advantage. ~Federal Bureau of Investigation More citizens around the world in
the 21st century have a greater awareness and common knowledge or white collar crimes than in
previous decades or centuries. In the west, Sutherland is known as the renowned sociologist who first
publically announced and defined white collar crime around the beginning of World War II, though
there is evidence of study and evidence of white collar crime present in the 19th century and before.
The subject of white collar crime is one of moderate to serious contention, as even its consideration as
a crime and its categorization within all of crime is debated fervently in the past and in the present.
White collar crime is prevalent in the 21st century around the world, perhaps more so than in previous
years because of the power and potential of technology to make possible and execute many examples
of white collar crimes. Agencies such as the Federal Bureau of Investigation additionally use
technology as a means to prevent white collar crime as well as pursue white collar criminals. White

Why Is Uranus Unique
Uranus
Uranus is a very a very unique planet. It s different because of its tilt, color and a somewhat different
surface. Uranus is different than other planets in our solar system. It does have a tilt, odd color and a
different surface, but why? Technically there isn t a surface to uranus. If anyone tried to land on the
surface of uranus the spacecraft would sink through and fall down to the planet s icy core. The reason
for this os because the planet is made up of mainly hydrogen and helium making it a gas planet. At the
core of the planet there are water like elements, such as methane and ammonia. The planet is referred
to as the ice giant because of the temperatures. This planet is also blue because the methane in Uranus
upper atmosphere takes in the red light from the Sun and then reflects the light absorbed back into
space. This is why Uranus appears to be blue. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Uranus lies 98 degrees off of its normal axes. The reasoning to this is that uranus rotates clockwise
when all the other planets rotate counter clockwise. Essentially this makes Uranus upside down.
Another fact is that most planets are off their axes a little bit. Earth is off its axis by 23° and jupiter 3°.
In theory, if uranus rotated normally it would be off by 8 degrees. A normal planet is off by 30°s at
most. The reason why Uranus is so cold is because it s 1.784 billion miles away from the sun. Uranus
is the 7th planet from the sun it is right after saturn. The distance isn t the only factor to why this
planet is so cold. Scientists believe that long ago the planet lost all its heat due to major activity in the
atmosphere. Uranus is 224° celsius. Making it colder than the 8th planet away from the sun,

Descriptive Dining At Home
You finally meet a significant other and you want to impress them with an appetizing home cooked
meal. Unfortunately, your idea of fine dining at home is Raman Noodles served in a bowl and not in
the foam cup. Raman Noodles, even served in a bowl, will not impress any date. Now picture yourself
sharing a warm, freshly crafted pizza. A pizza with fried chicken smothered with provolone cheese. A
pizza with a pop of flavor provided by bell peppers. A pizza seamlessly put together with ranch
dressing. This simple recipe for chicken ranch pizza will make you resistible to any date. To complete
the following recipe, you will need one boneless chicken breast (an ideal size for the chicken breast is
the size of your hand), soy sauce, lemon juice, a bell pepper, shredded provolone cheese, salt, Cayenne
pepper, flour, olive oil, one large egg, and one frozen cheese pizza (preferably Di Giorno rising crust).
First you need to prep the chicken breast. If your chicken breast is frozen, let your chicken breast
thaw. To speed up the thawing process, you may use a microwave. However, set the microwave to
defrost mode before thawing your chicken, which will prevent the chicken from drying out and will
keep the chicken moist. Thaw the chicken, on defrost mode, for approximately five to six minutes.
After thawing the chicken, take a sharp knife and make a horizontal cut across the middle of the
breast. Always act carefully when working knives. Remember to keep the blade down and always cut
away from yourself. Cut the chicken into long strips with roughly one quarter inch of thickness.
Reducing the thickness of the breast will reduce the amount of time needed to cook the chicken fully.
Now make a vertical cut every half inch to both strips of chicken. The chicken pieces should resemble
the size and shape of your middle and ring finger combined. After cutting the chicken, wash hands
thoroughly with warm water and soap. Always wash your hands after touching raw meat to prevent
cross commination. Do not touch any other ingredient before washing your hands.
Next you need to assemble the marinade for the chicken. Start with a deep dish baking pan and add
one and half cups of soy sauce or until the bottom of the pan is

Designing A Three Dimensional Object From A Bundle Model
3d Printing
Introduction
3D printing, also referred as additive manufacturing assembling, is essentially a technique for making
a three dimensional object from a bundle model. The object may be of pretty much any structure. In
additive manufacturing technique, an item to be composed is assembled from the base up by adding it
to layers of the improvement material. The additive manufacturing procedure is distinctive from the
subtractive procedure, where material is evacuated from a square by strategies such as chiseling or
penetrating. The primary material used in the improvement of 3D items is plastic, however as of late,
there has also been a huge number of development toward utilizing optional materials like metals of
different sorts and also natural matter like carbon and its changed subordinates (Bhandari, 2014).
Background Hideo Kodama of Nayoga Municipal Industrial Research Institute is mostly considered to
have printed the first strong object from an advanced outline of 3D printing. But still the credit for the
initial 3D printer mostly goes to Charles Hull, who in 1984 planned it while working for the
organization he established, 3D Systems Corp. Charles Hull was a pioneer of the strong imaging
procedure known as stereo lithography and the STL (stereo lithographic) record group which is still
the most broadly utilized organization today as a part of 3D printing. He is similarly respected to have

Genetic Engineering Negative Essay
After genes were discovered, scientists have been trying to disclose the mysteries of them. Since genes
are the basic building blocks of organism, they are extremely crucial to the development of biological
science. Genetic engineering seems to help the scientists explore the genomes. Genetic engineering is
a relatively new technology that is used to manipulate the genome of an organism. It can be utilized to
raise plants, cure diseases, create genetically modified babies, and clone living organisms. In other
words, scientists can use genomes as Lego blocks to build or change an organism. When an innovative
idea is introduced to people, two groups manifest: one that supports the idea and one that opposes it.
Recently, as the products of the technology, such as GMO food, get increasingly more involved in
human lives, people start to debate whether genetically engineering is more beneficial or harmful. On
the surface of the issue, genetic engineering seems to only serve benefits. However, while the
development of genetic engineering can change our world for the better, it has various negative
influences on the human race in many aspects: it is harmful toward the agricultural environment; it
acts against nature; and it creates ethical problems. Scientists must consider the disadvantages of the
technology carefully, before they over develop it to an extent that it creates irreversible harms which
can impair the entire human race.

the leader let go of some of his or her reins and let the mentee expand the skill set (Federer, 2014).

Leaving behind a well groomed successor goes in favor of the leader rather than posing a threat. The
leaders should plan their exit strategy so well that they can pass the baton to the next generation
without missing a beat, hence, making the transition as smooth as possible. If the succession and
mentoring plan is well orchestrated then the organization would be thinking about the leader and
thanking him or her for the foresightedness. Research shows that billion dollar companies have
succession planning as their top three priorities and successful health care leaders should absorb
lessons from other successful organization to position themselves in the global competitive landscape
as a cutting edge organization, which is ready to meet tomorrow s challenges head on. Even though
the health care should not be treated as a business, but leaders should possess the entrepreneurial
acumen. A leader is considered successful not when he or she is well educated, and result oriented, but
the one who can put together a cohesive team, move things forwards with his or her far sightedness. A
leader is followed if he or she is passionate, wise, trustworthy, generous, and courageous enough to

The YellowJackets pulled within 21 19, but Centenary scored the final four points to finish off the

the match. Frey recorded 13 kills and 14 digs for her ninth double double of the season. With nine kills
in the second match against Jarvis Christian, she now has 980 for her career which ties her for fourth
in the career annals with Danielle Bochat (2005 07). Savanah Stutts led LeTourneau with 12 kills. In
the second match of the day, Centenary exerted its control early in the first two sets to beat Jarvis
Christian in three. In set one, a service error put Lawson on serve up 3 1. An attack error, a Lawson
ace, a kill from senior Allison Lazewski and another Bulldogs attack error put Centenary up 7 1. Later
up 9 3, an 8 2 run gave Centenary a 12 point lead, its biggest of the set. Two errors and an Orlopp kill
put the Ladies up nine. After both teams recorded a kill, Frey found the floor twice on her serve to
push the lead to double digits. After both teams sided out, a Brantley kill brought the lead to 12. With
four aces in the first set alone, a Sandoval ace fittingly ended the frame. For the match, Brantley hit 11

Sentencing For Drug Offenders Should Be Lenient
Sentencing for drug offenders can be somewhat lenient or harsh depending upon what drug was
involved in the arrest and who the violator is; meaning if the violator is an adult or a juvenile. In
Crime state rankings 2010: Crime across America, the percent of the population who are illicit drugs
users for Virginia was 8.2%, ranking twenty fourth on that list and the national percent was 8.1% of
the population in 2007 (Morgan, K. O. L., Morgan, S., Santos, R. B. 2010). In Crime state rankings
2011: Crime across America, the percent of the population who are illicit drug users for Virginia was

people that would sink that low as to target their trafficking activity at those with the least ability to
resist such offers, those are the people who deserve the most severe punishment. The Department of
Justice cannot and will not tolerate this conduct in America, and that is why they stands firmly behind
the intent of this legislation to increase the punishment meted out to drug offenders. The Department
of Justice supports mandatory minimum sentences in appropriate circumstances, of course. Mandatory
minimum sentencing statues can provide a level of uniformity and predictability that regular
sentencing procedures cannot. Mandatory minimum sentencing discourages certain types of criminal
behavior by broadcasting the potential consequences of committing those offenses. They can also keep
dangerous offenders in prison for long periods of time, thereby increasing the public s safety. They
also provide an important tool for prosecutors by providing defendants with a convincing incentive,

Gender Report Card
WK4Assgn+Charles+J I chose the 2015 NFL S Racial And Gender Report Card. I believe that out of
all of major leagues professional sports the NFL has a lot of work to do, but in 2015 I do see progress
in this report. The report card by Richard Lapchick with Leroy Robinson Published September 10,
2015 stated that The percent of people of color who held professional positions on NFL teams
increased from 18.4 percent in 2014 to 19.4 percent in 2015. The percent of women in professional
administrative positions increased by 1.6 percentage points from 30.6 percent in 2014 to 32.2 percent
in 2015. Lapchick, R. (2015, September10). These numbers show that the NFL is slowly, but surely
moving in the right direction. Although, the NFL in 2015 announced it s first female officals, which is
a huge milestone for professional men sports. The league is doing a decent job, with not only
diversifying its teams and front offices, but also its officals, which is a big deal. I remember growing
up and watching NFL football games and only seeing one the same color as me. Also, the NFL
announce its first female coach, which I believe will be inspirational to women who have a love and
passion for the sport, not limited them to the front office in an administrator role. This is great for the
league as a whole. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The percentage of people of color serving as vice presidents on NFL teams increased from 11.5
percent in 2014 to 13.7 percent in 2015. Although these numbers are still relavativly low, the percent
of female vice presidents increased significantly from 17.8 percent in 2014 to 22.9 percent in
2015.However, we have no African American owners in the NFL, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a
majority owner of color an Pakistan American born business owner, Shahid Khan. Lapchick, R. (2015,

Pascal s Wager Analysis
I came up with an extension of Pascal s Wager.
Pascal never addressed other religions (which makes his thesis as is very flawed), so I improved upon
it a risk calculus that included all other religions.
The idea is: in the perspective as a gambler, and the afterlife as form of gambling (in which the player
was trying their best to not receive any form of suffering), it would be the most beneficial to believe in
a religion which claims 100% hell for unbelievers while also not being mutually exclusive in benefits
from other kinds of religion.
(For example, if you are Christian, and the thesis of Buddhism is actually true, you ll still be in an
advantageous position in reincarnation if you follow Christianity out by loving others and in

The practice of female circumcision is happening in areas across the globe such as Africa, Asia and
the Middle East. The United states and Serval others counties look at this as a vicious act of genital
mutilation and an outright human rights violation (Clay, 2017, p.g.22). The practice of female
circumcision has gone on for years as a cultural rite of passage in some countries. Other countries see
it as a religious belief and others see it as a way to make their daughter more desirable for a husband
The author reports that even through in the United States that many women more than half a million
are still at risk of having their genital cut from the CDC reports in 2012 (Clay, 2017,

Digital Disruption On Business Governance
ISYS2423 Individual Report
Name: Brian Au
Student Number: 3333937
Topic: Digital Disruption
Introduction
The business world continues to change dramatically as new technologies are invented. Organizations
and businesses are experiencing waves of technological change and innovation and the process. Thus,
management strategies of the organizations have to be altered to match the new technologies if
businesses are to remain competitive and active in the market place. Digital disruption can be defined
as the changes that take place when new technologies and business models affect the promise of value
to be delivered by existing goods and services (McQuivey 2015). Change experienced in information
and communication technology cannot be assumed as this greatly affects business governance and
business models. It is indisputable that business and organizations are facing imminent and major
digital disruptions and it is important for each organization to understand the issues raised by digital
disruption to be able to develop specific, pragmatic, and proportional responses (Deloitte 2015). This
research seeks to show how digital disruption impacts business governance and how it opens
unprecedented business opportunities and possibilities. The report shows how the innovations
accompanying digital disruption changes economies and markets and how they reinvent relationships

Essay on Classicism Versus Romanticism in Tom Stoppard s...
Tom Stoppard is one of the finest playwrights of the modern age. Some of his well known plays are
Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, The Coast of Utopia, Every Good Boy Deserves Favour,
Professional Foul, The Real Thingand many more. The finest of all his plays is Arcadia. The literary
meaning of the term Arcadia inspired Tom Stoppard to write his play Arcadia. It was titled Et in
Arcadia ego . Arcadia actually means a vision of pastoralism and harmony within nature. The Greek
province of the same name has helped in the derivation of the term. The term s existence has also been
figured out in Renaissance Mythology. Arcadia refers as something unattainable as commonly as
Utopia. The term Arcadia is symbolic of pastoral ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The play focuses on the romance of the mind and the body. Remarked by early reviewers to be similar
to Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz, Tom Stoppard had excelled in this field and gives a glimpse of his
theatrical genius with Arcadia.
Arcadia covers the two different ages the early nineteenth century and the present modern world,
matched, juxtaposed together bringing in a rare combination of the different facets of Classicism and
Romanticism. The two timelines talk about sex, literature, love, epistemology, landscaping, the
Second Law of Thermodynamics and the romance. Stoppard s intellect looms large over the plot of
the play and is efficiently presented in the form of this play. It is a two act play containing seven
scenes. The characters belonging to the early nineteenth century are Septimus, Thomasina, Mr. and
Mrs. Chater, Lady Croom, Captain Brice, Mr. Richard Noakes. Hannah Jarvis, Valentine, Bernard,
Gus and Chloe are the characters belonging to the present modern world. Thomasina Coverly, the
thirteen year old daughter of Lady Croom, is more interested to know what carnal embrace is than
anything else. With her Stoppard had presented a truly heartbreaking character. She is driven not only
by intellectual knowledge but by sexual desires also. Although Lady Croom tells Thomasina that she
must wed before she is over educated. With her Stoppard puts forth the classicism in an elegant way.

Besides tearing the ACL, we need to know any knee injuries can cause a player to be sidelined from training and competitions for a long period unfortunately. Therefore, the knee injuries usually are the main cause to break the careers of soccer players. (Source: http://www.englewoodortho.com) Although hamstring strains (muscle group at the back of your thigh) will not seriously affect the careers of soccer players, they still make lots of players endure torment on it. The reason is that hamstring strains easily occur when the thigh muscles of a player are not strong enough. This situation usually happens when the player lacks time for recovery between training and competitions or receives excessive intensity training or matches when the player recently recovers from injuries. • 3. Changes Between Civil War And Reconstruction In Indian... Essay A 1 Although the horrors of the American Civil War and Reconstruction within Indian Territory were fresh. Yet, the presence of Indian Territory changed drastically between 1865 and 1889, because of the Second Trail of Tears , the unrest of the Southern Plains tribes of western Indian Territory, and the impact of U.S. Polices on Indian Territory. The Indian Nations lost nearly half their land due to the Reconstruction treaties of 1866, which required the land lost to be used for resettlement of more Indian tribes. Indian populations within Indian Territory did not change much from 1865 to 1900, but the non Indian populations soon outnumbered the Indian populations six to one (Baird and Goble, p 126). Lane Pomeroy Plan pushed by the Kansas representatives, James Lane and Samuel Pomeroy, to pressure the Federal government to remove more Indians to Indian Territory (Baird and Goble, p 131). The Homesteading movement increased pressure to relocate Indians to Indian Territory to open up more lands in surrounding states for settlement. Upwards to 15,000 Indians were relocated to Indian Territory during the Second Trail of Tears (Baird and Goble, p 131). The increased diversity between Indian tribes and the growing non Indian population created a tension for Indians to maintain control of Indian Territory, which grew worse as the territory edged closer to statehood. The Second Trail of Tears, like the first, were done in a series of waves of forced and voluntary ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 5. The Five Competitive Forces That Shape Strategy Central Theme In the article, The Five Competitive Forces that Shape Strategy, Michael Porter argues that the five forces are an important element for managers and investors in the business industry. Porter stated that it is important to understand the competitive forces, and their underlying causes which many companies will use to determine if they will gain profit or not (Porter 80). Companies determine their profitability of the industry through the level of the force that they face. For instance, when the forces are favorable, most companies will be profitable. Porter gives a detail description of the five forces and explains the importance of each force. The five forces are the threats of new entrants, the power of the buyers, the power of the suppliers, the threats of substitute for products or services, and the rivalry among existing competitors. Porter believes that a company strategist who understands the competition extends well beyond existing rivals will detect wider competitive threats and be better equipped to address them (Porter 93). In other words, when strategists understand the different forces it will benefit them to make better decisions and to be ready to face the different challenges between competitors. In the article, Porter s main goal is to present the importance of the five forces to the audience. Critical Analysis There are many strengths and weaknesses in this article. In 1789 Congress created the Department of State being the first of more than 2,000 agencies and departments. The federal bureaucracy is part of the executive branch run by the president of the United States. It is broken into four main types the Cabinet departments, government corporations, independent agencies, and regulatory commissions. The Cabinet department includes 15 departments that are broken into bureaus, divisions and sections for example Department of Justice (FBI) and Homeland Security (US Customs and Border Patrol). • 7. Examples Of In-Depth Interview To answer my research question, I chose semi structured in depth interviews because it particularly lends itself to exploring challenging and complex life situations such as the return to work following parental leave. According to Valerie Yow, the recorded in depth interview can offer answers to questions that no other methodology can provide (Yow 2005, 9). In her introductory chapter on in depth interviewing, Yow specifically mentions complex decisions as a case where in depth interviews allow us to pose questions that remain invisible in statistics and official records. Thus, while the OECD family database statistics might provide us with useful information about Hungarian mothers decisions concerning employment, in my research I would like to ask women to explain the various and differing factors contributing to these choices. ... Some of them are already well developed and highly accepted in the marketplace; nonetheless, there are numerous E procurement tools that are immature and require further development (Wang, 2006). For the purpose for this paper, we aim to focus on the E procurement tools that are widely accepted in the government and private sectors. Diagram 1.3. provides a snapshot of the comparison between different forms of auctioning. Figure 1.3. Comparison between traditional auction and reverse auction E Reverse auction is the opposite of traditional auction. A traditional auction usually involves a seller offering one or more items for sale in the marketplace, and there will be multiple potential buyers compete for the purchase of the item(s) being offered (de Boer et al., 2001). The price is driven up until a stage that no buyers are willing to offer a higher price (de Boer et al., 2001). EBay and Amazon.com could be well known examples of traditional auction on the Internet. • 11. Substitution Reactions ( Sn2 And Sn ) Using various alcohols, the substitution reactions (Sn2 and Sn) were utilized by helping with which functional groups reacted, in which way. Developing a mechanism for the alcohols are discussed. This journal inspects the substitution reactions occurring in the alcohol containing compounds. When a substitution reaction transpires, it substitutes one sigma (σ) bond with another sigma (σ) bond. In substitution reactions, there are two types that are focused when working with organic molecules, Sn1 and Sn2. A Sn1 reaction is a nucleophilic substitution reaction, which has one molecule that is in the rate determining step of the reaction. This simply means there is one substitution that occurs before the final product is created. A Sn2 reaction is, also, a nucleophilic substitution reaction. The Sn2 reaction has two molecules that are in the rate determining step; therefore, two substitutions occur before the final product is created (reactions occur simultaneously). The three different types of alcohols that were utilized during this experiment are common in Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. The reaction that occurs between the alcohol and the solvents are both Sn1 and Sn2 reactions. While working with reaction 1 there are several different chemical properties to be aware of, 3 Phenyl 1 propanol has a melting point of 18°C. It also has a boiling point of 119°C. Society as a whole undermines the serious and harsh realities of hardships ones with mental health issues face each and everyday. Mental health awareness and advocacy has recently come more into focus, as celebrities such as Demi Lovato are using their voice to speak out and make an impact in our world. Demi inspires and advocates for those who are too ashamed and too scared to stand up for themselves. In November 2010 after an intervention by her family and friends, Demi Lovato checked herself into a treatment facility to receive support for her severe depression, bulimia, anorexia and cutting (Vena). Since she left the program in January 2011, she has been an extreme advocate in the fight for mental health awareness (MacKenzie). On September 4th 2014, the National Alliance of Mental Illness (NAMI) honored her for her actions, encouragements, and support efforts. She is one of the leaders in the movement, and is not backing down from the fight. With her influential status, Demi Lovato spoke at the NAMI National Convention in support to effectively decrease the stigma of mental illness by education and providing awareness to implement a much needed change in our world. How Does Cool Hand Luke Symbolism Stuart Rosenberg, the director of the film Cool Hand Luke crafted a suspenseful masterpiece that leaves viewers questioning how closely the symbolism correlates to Biblical stories. As the film progresses, Rosenberg peels back the layers of the main character s personality, who is better known as Luke. Film critic Tim Dirks states, Rich religious symbolism, references and imagery are deeply embedded within the narrative, with some critics arguing that Luke represents a modern day, messianic Christ figure who ministers to a group of disciples and refuses to give up under oppression (1). Director Rosenberg uses the symbolism theme throughout the entire film by displaying well thought out Biblical references, images, and the dialog to allude ... • 15. Queer Representation Of All Age Media Essay Queer Representation in All Age Media Growing up as a Catholic, Puerto Rican gay boy in the 90s and early 2000s, I struggled to discover my queer identity as well as queer representation in the media I consumed. Being gay was something that was never discussed. If it was brought up, it was usually in hushed tones (I remember being introduced to my uncle s close friend each holiday) or as something negative (I still remember the sting of being called a faggot in elementary school). This reflected exactly how homosexuality was portrayed in media at the time. Queer characters and homosexuality were at best portrayed in codified, blink and you ll miss it labels and affectations, or at worst, something to laugh at, pity or even hate. As someone who still regularly reads comics, watches Saturday morning cartoons and play video games, it is so exciting to discover the lengths of progress that has been made in queer representation in all age media. In this paper I hope to detail the highs and lows of LGBTQ representation in all age media and highlight the positive and negative impact of media representation. Before we can look forward, we must look back at queer representation of the past. The late film scholar Vito Russo painstakingly researched the evolution of queer representation in cinema in his landmark book The Celluloid Closet. In both the book and its documentary of the same name, Russo details the earliest portrayal of homosexuality in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

We were on our way to Alcatraz, the island off of San Francisco that was once a jail. Alcatraz was a very famous jail because no one could escape, except for people who escaped from the island but might ve died in the water or got caught right away. I was 5 or 6 years old and me and my dad were going to Alcatraz because of a father and daughter activity. • 17. A Review On Vitiligo Therapy Introduction Vitiligo is a disease in which the skin begins to lose pigment because melanin producing cells, melanocytes, are absent or nonfunctional, leaving patches of white areas throughout the body. Recently, ultraviolet B phototherapy (UVB) has been used to target areas of lesions in order to repigment and stabilize vitiligo. This paper presents a review on vitiligo therapy that focuses on the effects of ultraviolet B light and aims to examine the success rate of this specific therapy. In particular, it will evaluate how UVB exactly induces melanocyte proliferation, whether the frequency of the therapy or the total amount of sessions contribute to repigmentation, whether treatment can be improved with the addition of a topical, and how stable the treatment is. Treatment of vitiligo is done to control the progress of the disease and to achieve repigmentation in lesions that have formed. An effective form of therapy is targeted UVB phototherapy which is based on the finding that ultraviolet light can induce melanin synthesis leading to repigmentation. Melanocyte loss in vitiligo is caused by immune attack operated by melanocyte specific T cells, innate immunity, and melanocyte specific antibodies [5]. The therapy helps initiate a process known as neo melanogenesis in which melanoblasts multiply and travel along the infundibulum outer root sheath to the interfollicular epidermis in order to repopulate the epidermal areas as a response to DNA damaged by UV light. Analysis Of Alice Walker s The Color Purple Thriving or Surviving: An In Depth look at Alice Walker s The Color Purple One might think that a childhood of sexual violence, emotional abuse, and rape would make a character dark and embittered; however, in Alice Walker s The Color Purple, the author explores the thin gray line that stands between surviving and thriving. Manipulating her characters so that they are constantly crossing the line back and forth. It is her protagonist, Celie, who imbues the reader with a pondering of the human condition, allowing for an introspective look at empowerment. Framing this bildungsroman in the form of letters, Walker s dramatic shifts reveal the religious and sexual bondage the protagonist is chained to. In this novel, Walker uses the pain, sorrow, and abuse of Celie to demonstrate the constant struggle that is waged between surviving and thriving in every shift of her life. While Celie s childhood remains an abusive saga, one will find an undying sense of optimism.Walker explores Celie s childhood which is lived primarily in survival mode. Celie s brutal upbringing gives her a maternal authority, as the reader continuously sees the absence and resentment from her mother And now I feels sick every time I be the one to cook. • 19. Analysis Of This Way For The Gas Ladies And Gentlemen This Way for the Gas, Ladies and Gentlemen by Tadeusz Borowski, published in 1959, is a short story about a concentration camp prisoner s experience working on Canada, the group of inmates responsible for helping unload the incoming prisoner transports. The narrator bares witness to many atrocities throughout the story, which are made more impactful to the reader through Borowski s use of impactful dialogue, figurative language, casual and matter of fact tone, and repetition. These literary elements allow Borowski to draw the reader in more than he would otherwise, and make them feel almost as if they are experiencing the horrors along with him. With few exceptions, every line of dialogue in the passage starts on it s own new line. This, combined with a lack of says or said in most cases, gives the dialogue a pointed and natural feeling. This has a couple of effects on the reader. First, it allows the reader to be more invested in the characters and the narrative that is playing out. They are able to feel closer to the action because of a lack of Henri said or I said getting in the way every line. This helps with the flow of the story while it is being consumed. For example, Schade, too bad. Come, come, Herr Posten, isn t my word good enough any more? Haven t we done business before? How much? One hundred. Gemacht? Gemacht. Justice has two meanings that differ throughout the span of the book. The first one is to put everything in its place which in other words means to balance and create symmetry between everything. The second definition is following individual rights which means everyone deserves to be treated equally and the opposite of that would be to take away their rights and only allow a sole group those rights. • 30. Daniel Levinson s Theory Of Middle Adulthood Middle adulthood refers to the time period between 45 and 65, in which adults have settled down and are now contemplating their place in the world. It s during middle adulthood that adults now are faced with the effort of passing on something meaningful to future generations. The theories associated with middle adulthood describe the different aspects that are important during middle adulthood, from personality development to vital relationships. Examining these aspects can help one to gain a better understanding of the development that occurs during middle adulthood. One theory that describes the way in which personality develops during this time is Erikson s theory. Erikson s theory refers to middle adulthood as the stage of generativity versus stagnation; generativity describes the passing on of a legacy from one generation to the next, where stagnation is the lack of passing on such a legacy. Generativity can be accomplished by bearing offspring, guiding and nurturing children, and passing on life skills and culture. It s during this stage that adults try to lead the next generation by teaching, guiding, and participating in activities that benefit the community (Santrock, 2017, pg. 487). Another theory associated with personality during middle age is Daniel Levinson s Seasons of a Man s Life. • 31. Glorification Of Nature In Rime Of The Ancient Mariner The power and glorification of nature and how it can be a spiritual source of renewal for individuals is highlighted through the works of artists of the Romantic period. Rime of the Ancient Mariner by Samuel Coleridge and Blueback by Tim Winton both display the influences that nature can have on an individual, spiritually and emotionally, and presents a clearer understanding of the natural world. The poem by Samuel Coleridge, Rime of the Ancient Mariner depicts a strong belief and interest in nature and how the natural world can be a place where God can be found. The contrast between the language of the quotes slimy things and O happy living things demonstrates this change in perspective as the narrator realises the beauty of nature. During his punishment, the Mariner was able to see the real beauty of nature and as a result, he had the ability to rejoice and pray about what he was seeing. By recognising the elegance in the environment that surrounded him, it enabled the Mariner to be free from his imprisonment. Like the belief in God, the Mariner first feared but finally loved the natural elements of the world. Throughout the journey, the wonder and beauty of nature and how it can be a spiritual finding is brought into focus. • 38. Descriptive Dining At Home You finally meet a significant other and you want to impress them with an appetizing home cooked meal. Unfortunately, your idea of fine dining at home is Raman Noodles served in a bowl and not in the foam cup. Raman Noodles, even served in a bowl, will not impress any date. Now picture yourself sharing a warm, freshly crafted pizza. A pizza with fried chicken smothered with provolone cheese. A pizza with a pop of flavor provided by bell peppers. A pizza seamlessly put together with ranch dressing. This simple recipe for chicken ranch pizza will make you resistible to any date. To complete the following recipe, you will need one boneless chicken breast (an ideal size for the chicken breast is the size of your hand), soy sauce, lemon juice, a bell pepper, shredded provolone cheese, salt, Cayenne pepper, flour, olive oil, one large egg, and one frozen cheese pizza (preferably Di Giorno rising crust). First you need to prep the chicken breast. If your chicken breast is frozen, let your chicken breast thaw. To speed up the thawing process, you may use a microwave. However, set the microwave to defrost mode before thawing your chicken, which will prevent the chicken from drying out and will keep the chicken moist. Thaw the chicken, on defrost mode, for approximately five to six minutes. After thawing the chicken, take a sharp knife and make a horizontal cut across the middle of the breast. Always act carefully when working knives. Remember to keep the blade down and always cut away from yourself. Cut the chicken into long strips with roughly one quarter inch of thickness. Reducing the thickness of the breast will reduce the amount of time needed to cook the chicken fully. Now make a vertical cut every half inch to both strips of chicken. The chicken pieces should resemble the size and shape of your middle and ring finger combined. After cutting the chicken, wash hands thoroughly with warm water and soap. Always wash your hands after touching raw meat to prevent cross commination. Do not touch any other ingredient before washing your hands. Next you need to assemble the marinade for the chicken. Start with a deep dish baking pan and add one and half cups of soy sauce or until the bottom of the pan is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Designing A Three Dimensional Object From A Bundle Model 3d Printing Introduction 3D printing, also referred as additive manufacturing assembling, is essentially a technique for making a three dimensional object from a bundle model. The object may be of pretty much any structure. In additive manufacturing technique, an item to be composed is assembled from the base up by adding it to layers of the improvement material. The additive manufacturing procedure is distinctive from the subtractive procedure, where material is evacuated from a square by strategies such as chiseling or penetrating. The primary material used in the improvement of 3D items is plastic, however as of late, there has also been a huge number of development toward utilizing optional materials like metals of different sorts and also natural matter like carbon and its changed subordinates (Bhandari, 2014). Background Hideo Kodama of Nayoga Municipal Industrial Research Institute is mostly considered to have printed the first strong object from an advanced outline of 3D printing. But still the credit for the initial 3D printer mostly goes to Charles Hull, who in 1984 planned it while working for the organization he established, 3D Systems Corp. • 40. Genetic Engineering Negative Essay After genes were discovered, scientists have been trying to disclose the mysteries of them. Since genes are the basic building blocks of organism, they are extremely crucial to the development of biological science. Genetic engineering seems to help the scientists explore the genomes. Genetic engineering is a relatively new technology that is used to manipulate the genome of an organism. It can be utilized to raise plants, cure diseases, create genetically modified babies, and clone living organisms. In other words, scientists can use genomes as Lego blocks to build or change an organism. When an innovative idea is introduced to people, two groups manifest: one that supports the idea and one that opposes it. Recently, as the products of the technology, such as GMO food, get increasingly more involved in human lives, people start to debate whether genetically engineering is more beneficial or harmful. On the surface of the issue, genetic engineering seems to only serve benefits. However, while the development of genetic engineering can change our world for the better, it has various negative influences on the human race in many aspects: it is harmful toward the agricultural environment; it acts against nature; and it creates ethical problems. Scientists must consider the disadvantages of the technology carefully, before they over develop it to an extent that it creates irreversible harms which can impair the entire human race.
