The Effects Of Fast Food On Children
Did you know that 30% of children ages 6 to 11 are overweight? 15.3% of children ages 6 to 11 are
obese? The impact obesity has on a child can become life changing. According to the CDC if current
trends continue, 1 of 3 U.S. adults will have diabetes by 2050 (Evans, W, 2006). Behind the mask of
obesity is a child that falls into the trap of fast food advertisement. Overall, the fast food industry
should be more socially responsible and not direct their marketing strategy of unhealthy food choices
to children; this will cut down the percentage of children suffering from childhood obesity that leads
to various health issues.
One might object here, that it is a free market and freedom of speech is part of the U.S. Constitution.
However, everyone has a different opinion about fast food and boudaries must be respected. Still the
fast food market is targeting children too often and too much, even involving Schools to advertise
unhealthy food in exchange for funding. One may argue, children learn by example, parents are
responsible for leading them in the right direction of how to make healthy food choices. With this
being said, parents are beginning to become concerned with how the fast food is being marketed to
children.
One of the largest leading industries known as fast food continues to market unhealthy promotions,
targeting young minds. Children watch an average of over ten related food advertisements daily, and
(nearly 4,000 per year) (Powell LM, S. R. 2011).

Corporate Governance and Control in Japan
Corporate governance and control in Japan: can the barriers to foreign takeover activity in Japan ever
be removed? Japan s seeming impenetrability to foreign takeovers, largely due to the prevailing
corporate culture and governance that allegedly hinders such takeovers, has defined business firms
and companies in the last decades (Lebrun, 2001; Gerlach, 1992; Maher and Wong, 1994; Seeman,
1986; Seeman, 1987; Stern, 1998). Such barriers have gradually been buoyed down by the worldwide
economic recession of the recent times an indication that while these barriers may not be totally lifted,
the prospect of reducing it is optimistic (Itoh and Vestring, 2001; Larimer, 1999; Seeman, 1986;
Seeman, 1987; JETRO, 2002;). Japanese inter corporate relationships are considered in terms of three
different structures of interaction: corporate groupings, financial centrality, and industrial
interdependency. Almost all decisions in Japanese business are group decisions, which require
virtually unanimous support from the members of the team making the decision Foreign firms, which,
to a great extent, need to acquire market shares in Japan, the nation with the world s greatest trade
surplus, find their way to major acquisitions in Japan virtually blocked by Japanese customs. They
face substantial barriers to acquiring Japanese companies. With Japanese PERs approaching the 100
level, most foreigners will hardly find Japanese firms a bargain. Most of the mergers and acquisitions

Real Estate And Its Effects On The Economy Essay
Real Estate Investing Real Estate has been a driving force in world economies since the days of
Babylon, one of the most fantastic developments the world has ever known, and the desire to create,
not destroy, is alive and well. As the world grows more populous and available land diminishes, the
opportunities that real estate development has to offer are vast and obtainable. As we descend from the
booming 90s and find ourselves burdened with the realities of our own self inflicted economic
implosion caused by greed and speculation, many investors find solace in the tangible world of real
estate. Moreover, the destructive effects of September the 11th are still disgorged down through our
economy, which is causing an ever increasing desire for a more concrete wealth building option not
offered by many paper investments. Many investors are still coping with the fall of such giants as
Enron and world to come, while others are looking for the stability that the real estate market offers,
and when you add all these ingredients to the grossly over priced US stock market, one find a more
appealing meal in the fascinating world of real estate. In this paper, I will go to talk about the 8 Tips
for Success in real estate investing; first be resolved because the Real estate is not something to do on
a caprice. Investing in real estate is a lifelong pursuit to take control of your financial future, not a get
rich quick blueprint. As investors you will struggle

Human Nature Of Nature
Man kinds biggest question in life is about our purpose and place on earth. Human civilizations
throughout time have struggled with understanding nature and society s purposes in nature, which
often stems from responsibility, coexistence, and population control concerns for humanity as well as
animal kind. Several wolf species have faced persecution and sever lost of habitat because of humans.
Man kind s treatment of varying wolf species clearly stems from people s attempt to balance
responsibility, coexistence, and population control, but failing miserably. However, human
civilizations recently begun to intensely attempt to be responsible with nature, coexist with other
inhabitants of nature, and ethical population control for animals with the use of education and
advancements in technology. Human civilization s technologies have a purpose and place on earth in
which humanity is morally and ethically responsible for the environment and animals of Earth that
require coexistence and ethical population control intervention from mankind. Advancements in
technology cause an awakening of awareness for man kind s responsibility towards humans own
natural surroundings, awareness of human impact on those surroundings, and human s impact on other
inhabitants. Recent advances in remote sensing technology, and the processing of remotely sensed

Superbowl Essay
The Story of The NFL Shop Family The Superbowl is one of the most widely watched television
events in the nation every year. Unlike many other sporting events, the Superbowl is not watched by
fans of the sport alone, but by just about anyone with access to a television. Growing up, my brother
was the only avid sports fan in the house, but every year the whole family would crowd around the TV
to watch The Superbowl. My brother excluded, we did this not out of real interest for the sport of
Football, but because we wanted to see all of the brand new (and hopefully emotionally arousing)
commercials that air during the Superbowl. Through the years, the Superbowl has actually become
known for this aspect. Recently certain websites have even began holding an annual ranking for the
best and worst Superbowl commercials each year. Though I wasn t particularly interested in the
Superbowl last year, one commercial still stands out to me almost eight months later. It is a
commercial for nflshop.com, and it seems to convey the story of a family that begins as Vikings fans
but over time expands into a family of Vikings, Bengals, Eagles, Steelers, and Cowboys fans.
Depending on the viewer s perspective on the commercial, in its short 30 second duration the
advertisement either tells the story of a touching progressive family molded by life experiences or of a
very noncommittal family with various impractical team affiliations. Either by alienation or affection
the commercial conveys a very

Rabbit-Proof Fence
Rabbit Proof Fence is the name of the film directed by Philip Noyce. This movie is about three girls,
Molly, Daisy and Gracie, who are taken away from their families to a camp in Moore River where
they bring up the Aboriginal kids as white kids. The girls then go on a nine week journey back home
and this movie showcases the journey and the obstacles the girls had to face before coming back
home. A particular scene from this movie, Stolen , is about the three girls enjoying their day when a
white man comes and takes them away to the campgrounds away from their families. There are many
techniques used in the scene Stolen . One being close up. In this scene a man is shown ringing the

This technique helps us understand the emotions Constable Riggs is feeling. With this technique, we
can see that he is waiting for the right time to make his move. This shows us that he is determined
about what he is going to do and is feeling confident about his plan as we can see his eyes fixed on the
girls. The director wanted to show us that Constable Riggs is a cunning person since before he made
his move he was quite close with the Aboriginal people and they trusted him and respected him.
However, with this technique, the director wanted the viewers to see the other side of Constable Riggs
with the confidence and determined shown from his facial expressions. The director also wanted to
show us that nothing will be able to stop him from capturing the girls. He also wanted to show us that
Aboriginals respect the white and white people are more powerful from them as we saw Constable
Riggs showing the documents that the mothers of the girls have no say on the situation. This is
relevant to anyone as from this scene it is shown not to trust others easily. This is relevant because like

Stamp Out Smoking Ad Campaign Analysis
Like many states, the Arkansas Department of Health is thoroughly engaged in attempting to improve
the wellbeing of its citizens. In Arkansas, there are free tobacco quitline referral programs. Once a
referral is submitted, the tobacco or nicotine user will receive a call from a Quit Counselor within 24
hours. Anyone who is referred should be planning a quit date within the next 30 days. Quit Counselors
work with tobacco and nicotine users to create a customized, individual quit plan, which includes free
counseling services by phone, online, or both. Although the ADH focuses on all aspects of smokers,
the Arkansas Department of health has a strong passion to help those who suffer from second hand
smoke. Plastered throughout Arkansas cities and on nearly every television, the ADH runs ads of
children both young and old that suffer from second hand smoke. Perhaps one of the strongest ads is
the one that has a picture of a hand grenade and a cigarette and says they are both capable of killing
anyone within forty feet. With the ad campaign Stamp Out Smoking , healthcare agencies are able to
appeal to smokers emotions. The guilt of smokers when they know their cigarette could harm others

Drones Persuasive Speech
The FAA said it receives on average 25 reports a month of drones flying too close to manned aircraft.
Even though recreational drone flights are supposed to be kept under 400 feet. In July 2014, a drone
narrowly missed colliding with an Airbus A320 as it was taking off from London s Heathrow airport.
The plane was at about 700 feet when the incident occurred and BBC reported that the Civil Aviation
Authority (CAA) rated the incident as a serious risk of collision. Although the military uses drones a
lot on the daily basis for good things to keep them safe, drones should be banned from the public as
they are not safe for the public to have a handle on, people use them for the wrong things, and this is
similar to the issue of guns and semi automatic weapons, they just don t belong in the hands of private
citizens. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Drones are a government device and should not be in the use of civilian and private hands. Authorities
in Paris spotted unmanned drones buzzing the Eiffel Tower, the Bastille, the Place de la Concorde the
U.S. Embassy and other high profile landmarks. That is the first reason why drones should be banned
from the public. There is multiple reasons why they are not safe. An 18 month old boy has lost an eye
after being hit by a drone flown by a family friend. Oscar Webb s eye was sliced in half by a propeller
after the operator, Simon Evans, lost control of the drone. The toddler, from Stourport on Severn,
Worcestershire, will need several operations before he can have a prosthetic eye fitted. It was the first
drone injury Oscar s surgeon had seen, but she said it was inevitable there would be many more.
Those are just a couple of reasons and instandents why drones should be banned from the

Jessica L. Cooper and discussed how librarians are to deal with the issues of intellectual freedom and
censorship in libraries while serving in the best interest of their patrons. This article states that with
intellectual freedom, individuals have the right to allow their minds to take them wherever to gain
understanding, information, and ideas. Libraries are where these individuals can gain such
understanding by being served with access to all types of information in different formats, regardless
of content. Throughout history, individuals have tried to prevent and control the creation, access, and

ANZAC Legend Assignment
History Term 4: ANZAC Research Assignment
Australia participated in of one of the greatest global wars in history, World War 1, as a part of the
Allied Forces. This war was also believed to be, at the time, the war to end all wars. It started on the
28th of July 1914 and was triggered by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria.
On the 25th of April 1915, the British Empire sent the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp to
Gallipoli in an invasion where the young soldiers were essentially led on a suicide mission. They were
outnumbered. The campaign ended in a gruesome and horrific massacre of the ANZAC troops. The
battle between Australia and Turkey on the Gallipoli Campaign during World War 1 is often glorified
in the recognition of the ANZAC s excessive qualities such as courage and endurance; which is now
known as the ANZAC Legend. However, it is undeniable that the reality of how the ANZAC legend
was altered through propaganda, exaggeration and misunderstanding to portray a successful campaign.
The fact that the ANZAC Legend was highly exaggerated is not often debated for the purpose of
attempting to convince citizens that the deaths of the soldiers who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign
were not in vain. we need to scrape off the barnacles and make sure the commemorations are actually
about the soldiers and the tragedy of what they endured (Payne, 2015). Many of the legendary actions
taken by ANZAC soldiers have been overstated so that the

The Causes And Effects Of The United States
Imagine strolling to the local grocery store, taking a morning run, or merely gathering the daily mail
wearing a mask as a shield against gassy smog. Think about the terror that strikes some people when
they turn on their faucets only to see a string of tainted, brown solution. Pollution affects thousands of
human individuals, animals, forests, cities, and ecosystems. With shocking effects and staggering
statistics, our water sources, the air we breathe, and the land upon which we live suffer from this
plague. Unfortunately, the causes and effects of this universal dilemma deteriorate the health and well
being of all life forms on earth.
Although land, light, and noise pollution leave their mark on this planet, air and water pollution inflict
even more damage. Across the globe, from Beijing to the U.S. to Africa, we see, and contribute to the
causes of pollution daily. Because of harmful chemicals that waft up to the atmosphere, the ozone
faces depletion. Automobiles and other forms of transportation emit dangerous toxins, along with
putrid, black smoke that spews from the exhaust pipes of large vehicles. Smoke from factories
contributes generously to contamination, as well. Even natural disasters play a momentous role in air
pollution as exhibited by sulfur dioxide, a volcanic gas that kills those who come in contact with it and
leaves soil infertile for years (Pollution). Another substance absolutely necessary to life on earth water
teems with pollutants. Human

Why Is Nina Dobrev A Good Role Model

Overall, everyone has a specific person they look up to whether it s a celebrity or their mother. Nina
Dobrev, one of many actresses, stands out amongst the crowd for me. She is kind and compassionate
and always modest and humble. Through hard work, patience, and persistence, Nina Dobrev has

My Family Vacation
A vacation is meant to be a time for serenity and relaxation. In my case it was the complete opposite,
but it changed me for the better. Five years ago a family vacation to Jamaica changed the way I saw
everything and made me appreciate the people I love and where I come from. It all started with the
worst airplane ride. About thirty minutes into the ride the flight attendant started going around offering
snacks. These purple potato chips caught my eye so that s what I decided to get. I should have known
something so bright couldn t have been good to eat. I instantly regretted eating the chip after taking a
bite out of that awfully weird tasting potato chip because immediately after, I felt a striking pain in my
lower abdomen. I tried to relieve the pain by loosening the seat belt buckle. I drank ginger ale, tried to
position myself differently to feel less discomfort but nothing helped. My brother was too busy on his
I pad to care, my other brother was too young to formulate proper sentences and my mom was too far
gone in her sleep, she couldn t have been any help fresh out of slumber. I just rocked back and forth
releasing oohs and ah s here and there because the pain was intolerable. I kept on for the remaining
three hour flight weeping and wincing, trying to keep quiet so I wouldn t disturb anyone. Landing in
Jamaica was supposed to be exciting, but how could I be excited when I was in pain. My mom, two
younger brothers and I were waiting for my uncle to arrive and take us to his house, so I took this
opportunity to tell my mom what was going on. She believed that it might just be cramps so she buys
me two bottles of ginger beer which is like the ginger ale of Jamaica, So I drank and I drank and I
drank but nothing happened. My uncle finally arrived after 15 minutes of chugging down the ginger
beer. We were settling in my uncle s house and my mom tried everything she could to make me feel
better. She made tea, gave me more ginger beer, and a hot pack for my stomach but nothing worked.
After my mom and uncle tried everything they could think of they finally came to the conclusion that
it was time to bring me to the doctor.
My visit to the doctor s office was a different experience from all

The Business Model ( Bm ) Essay
RQ1. The business model (BM) delineates the logic of how an organization creates, acquires, and
delivers value and facilitates the organization s strategy implementation through the organizational
structures, processes, and systems (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). The BM seeks to establish and
maintain a relationship with a targeted demographic through the provision of benefits that solve a
problem or meets a need. This value proposition is available through key resources, activities, and
partnerships in respect to the cost structure and is delivered to the customer through channels; the
value proposition returns to the organization in the form of revenue stream. The BM is an aggregation
of components that align to support the organization s philosophy of how it plans to prosper. Customer
segments identify the customer that the organization desires to reach and serve. Customer
relationships are defined by the type of relationship the organization establishes with the customer
segment. Value propositions specify the benefits (products and services) that an organization can
provide a customer to meet a need or solve a problem. Key resources are the assets that enable the
organization to offer value, reach the market, maintain relationships, and earn revenue. Key activities
detail the actions the organization must perform to operate successfully. Key partnerships are business
alliances that optimize the strategy and provide resources. Cost structure defines the expenses

Psychological contract in view of ARGYRIS: One of the first writers to use the term psychological
contract was ARGYRIS in 1960 who defined it as the implicit understanding between a group of
employees and their foreman. He described it as: A relationship may be hypothesized to evolve
between the employees and the foremen which might be called the psychological work contract . The
employee will maintain high production, low grievances etc. if the foreman guarantees and respects
the norms of the employee informal culture (i.e. let the employees alone, make certain they make
adequate wages and have secure jobs). In other words, he was proposing that a relationship existed
that potentially, had a stronger influence on employees performance and attitudes than the formal
contract of employment. However, Argyris referred to the psychological contract only in passing, and
Levinson et al (1962) claim to have been the father of the concept. They defined it as the unwritten
contract, the sum of the mutual expectations between the organization and employee . Psychological
contract in view of SCHEIN: The early view of the psychological contract, like the social contract
before clearly refers to mutual expectations and obligations. It differs from the social contract as it
specifically relates to the workplace and what the foreman expects of their team and what team
members, in turn, expect from the foreman. The psychological contract was refined by SCHEIN

Essay On Morning After Pill
The Morning After Pill
The emergency contraception pill, often wrongly called the abortion pill, is a solution to the high teen
pregnancy rate in the USA. There were 521,826 teen mothers in the United States in 1990 (Adolescent
pregnancy 2). The United States also has the highest rate of pregnancy, abortion, and childbirth among
teenagers than any other country (McKeown 1). Also, the Untied States spends an unbelievable 7
billion dollars a year on teen pregnancy costs (National Campaign To Prevent Teen Pregnancy 1). Not
only does teen pregnancy cause problems for the babies of these mothers, and the United States tax
payers, but the teen mothers themselves suffer too. Teen mothers are less likely to finish high school

The RU 486 is an abortion pill. Taking the RU 486 is like having a surgical abortion. The ECP should
no longer be confused with the RU 486 pill. The ECP prevents conception instead of inducing a
miscarriage (Rosenthal 2). The ECP is taken before fertilization has taken place, while the RU 486 pill
is killing the child because it has already matured into a fetus. (Stewart 9). Many people think taking
this pill is just like killing their child, as if they were taking the RU 486 pill or getting a surgical
abortion. This is an incorrect assumption on their part. The ECP is taken within 72 hours of having
unprotected sex, before the egg has been fertilized. This proves that the ECP is not interfering with
reproduction (Stewart 9).
Since the ECP is not an abortion pill, then how does it work? There are ten brands of emergency
contraception pills, Ovral, Lo/Ovral, Levien, Nordette, Levora, Alesse, Tri Levien, Triphasil, Trivora,
and Ovrette. These brands contain different combinations of Norgestrel, Ethinyl Estradiol, and
Levonorgestrel (Stewart 7). The emergency contraception pill is much like birth control pills that
many women take on an everyday basis, but just contain a higher dosage of hormones then regular
birth control pills (McKeown 1). The pills should be taken within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse
to ensure effectiveness. Treatment is divided into two doses. The

Alkyl Halides
In this lab, the experimenters will determine how the structure of an alkyl halide (i.e. methyl, primary,
secondary, or tertiary), steric effects, nature of a leaving group, and solvent polarity affect the relative
rates of SN1 and SN2 reactions. In addition, comparing the rates of reactions under varying
concentrations of alkyl halides and nucleophiles will help determine the rate laws for both types of
nucleophilic substitution reactions. During SN2 reactions, a good nucleophile, like iodide, will
displace the leaving group on an alkyl halide in a single step that results in an inversion of
configuration. Methyl, primary, and some secondary halides undergo this bimolecular substitution
reaction. Minimal steric effects combined with a good leaving group and a polar, aprotic solvent ...

The more stable the resulting carbocation, the quicker this step occurs. After this rate limiting step,
rapid reaction with a weak nucleophile (e.g. ethanol) attacking from either side of the carbocation
completes the substitution reaction. A racemic mixture forms with a slight favoring of the inverted
molecule because of ion pair formation. A good leaving group capable of delocalizing a negative
charge aids in the formation of the initial carbocation. Additionally, polar, protic solvents capable of
solvating and stabilizing a carbocation support the SN1 mechanism. Tertiary alkyl halides provide the
ideal substrate for the formation of a stable tertiary carbocation that favors the SN1 mechanisms.
When testing the factors affecting the SN2 reaction below, the experimenters will achieve the fastest
reaction when using a primary alkyl halide with minimal branching and the best leaving group (i.e. 1
bromobutane). Varying the concentrations of the alkyl halide or nucleophile while keeping the other
constant will change the rate of reaction for the SN2 reaction. The fastest SN1 reaction will occur for
the tertiary alkyl halide with the strongest leaving group reacted in pure

Delightfully this seems to imply association with Jesus, the Lamb of God, and his righteousness. The
softness is associated with the gentleness and humbliness of the Savior. The lamb is next about such a
tender voice that voice that makes the vales rejoice. The speaker is simply asking the lamb, Dost thou
know who made thee? [2] The second stanza begins with the statement. Little Lamb I ll tell theek. [2.]
The speaker now provides the answer to the question. The answers is provided first vaguely through
association of names and characteristics. The tone of the prose is more excited in this stanza. The
speaker attribute the lamb with the Lamb of God, both are called by the same name.

The characteristics of The Lamb of God is meek and mild. The temperment of the little lamb would
also share these character traits. The speaker next relates himself, as a child, to this trait of innocence.
The Lamb of God was also a child, He is God incarnated, born of a virgin. The next line; We are
called by his name. implys that wer are all called by his name. We are his flock and his creation. The
poem is then finished with the speaker telling the little lamb, Little Lamb God bless thee. In analysis
of this poem, we find the symbolic association the Little Lamb and Jesus Crist, The Lamb of God.

Henry Turner Superego
Freud believes there is three parts of a person s personality, the Id, Ego and Superego. The Id is the
portion of the brain that is based on a pleasure principle , meaning that this is the part that controls a
person s craving and wants. There is also the Ego which is based on the reality principle , meaning this
is the section of your brain telling you how it really is and saying you can t have something based on
the present situation. Lastly, there is the Superego which is based on moral principle , meaning that
you can t have something your Id wants because it is morally wrong. Henry Turner was living a fairly
normal life, till one day his Id took over and he wanted some cigarettes and when he went to purchase
them something unexpected happened. A man was trying to rob him, but Henry wouldn t give up his
money and tried running away and got shot twice. He was able to live through, but when he came
back, he wasn t able to be himself, he couldn t walk, talk or remember anything about him or his life.
He went through extensive training and rehab to be able to retain the walking and talking part that he
had forgotten. While in rehab, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

right from wrong. An example of this is when he learns his wife cheated on him, he doesn t know that
it was wrong until he starts to remember more and more about what he learned in previous years. I
also believe the most prominent scene to prove his Id is his natural state is when he buys the dog and
leaves to go walk around with nothing else to do. The traumatic accident he goes through changed him

the United States Government to study the psychological states of a human in different situations and

farther than a few studies and experiments however, and is used today to control world politics,

to 88 days and would shock them up to 360 times per person. The doctor would then put specialized

exposure to horrible treatment methods, and some experiments went as far as children being locked in

Country Lovers vs. The Gold Cadillac Essay
Country Lovers vs. The Gold Cadillac
====================================
Both of the two stories, Country Lovers and The Gold Cadillac reveal racism. It is not a particularly
hidden message. But the two of them approach it from slightly different angles. Country Lovers shows
that the story is based around racism in the first paragraph: [the black children are] beginning to call
their old playmates missus and baasie
little master . Within the Gold Cadillac, the racism is a little better concealed. We don t know that the
main family are black for sure, until line 166, after Wilbert (the father) has said he is going to go down
to Mississippi and Mr. Pondexter say Not much those folks hate more n to see a northern Negro ...

Another possible reason is that it may show other black people, that if they too work hard, they can
achieve something great, The American Dream.
In Country Lovers, it is obviously about racism from line 10 onwards.
We are constantly finding out how the white people have a far better life than the black people: in
education, belongings, housing, and general life. For example, while Thebedi and Njabulo live in a hut
Njabulo had built in white man s style, with a tin chimney, and a proper window with glass panes set
in straight as walls made of unfired bricks would allow , the farmer and his son lived in a house
thick walled, dark against the heat.
It is interesting to note that Njabulo has attempted to copy the white man s house, but doesn t have the
resources available. The way we are told, it seems that having a proper window is something he is
very proud of. However the white man has big thick walls on his house, which appear to act as a form
of barrier from anything to do with the black world.
At the end of the Country Lovers story, we find that the farmers son is allowed to get away with
murder, and that the press and public congratulated for him. He won the case, because Thebedi had
decided that it wasn t worth it, as white people run the court, that she can t win. One very effective
method for talking about racism in The

The Disclosure Quality Of Information Of Securities Analysts
Moreover, securities analysts play the important roles of the users and providers of information and
their sources of information include public information that all analysts know and private information
that is possessed by individual analysts (Barron et al., 1998). Therefore, both the improvement of the
transparency of listed companies public information and analysts private information can lead to an
increase of the accuracy of analysts forecasts. Due to the lower costs of acquisition, the public
information issued by the listed companies that act as the main sources of information of securities
analysts is particularly important among them (Schipper, 1991), scholars research also focused on the

the writing of this dissertation and widens research ideas, which offer more research spaces to the

literature about cross listing and the accuracy of analysts earnings forecasts and makes some thorough

of diversification and relevant research reveal many differences, such as market selection, sample
firms, model construction, etc. Most of these studies think that if enterprises go public in overseas
mature markets after they are listed in domestic markets, it will be beneficial to crossing market
barriers, improving the liquidity of stocks, expanding investor base and improving the degrees of
cognition. However, few research concentrate on Chinese market and it cannot be sure that whether
these theories can be used to explain the problems of cross listing of Chinese companies. In this
context, the dissertation will focus on Chinese firms to study the issues of cross listing and the

Essay On Physical Contact
Physical Contact in the Arab World vs. the West
Bayader Al Ghamdi
Effat University
Junior Year
GSEM 200
Introduction: Physical contact is a form of communication that requires no verbal communication or
writing in order to be understood although it may differ from one country and culture to another. Body
language is considered to be a silent form of communications that succeeds to deliver an idea or a
message. Most of the time, hand gestures and physical contact are known to be more effective than
words. The most important thing in communication is hearing what is not said. (Peter Durocher, 1967,
p2). Such as, a wide smile on a child s face can say more than a thousand words could ever say. Thus,
there are many forms of nonverbal communications that touch the deep sense of humanity. Physical
interaction is one of the most essential factors of human communication. Generally, it is considered as
a strong form of communication. The human body is the best picture of the human soul , Ludwig
Wittgenstein. Physical contact can help an individual gain another person s trust over a short period of
time. However, it is still a complex topic because it differs from one culture to another. Each culture
has its own traditions and ideologies. Furthermore, in some culture, certain forms of physical contact
are considered forbidden, offensive or taboo. This paper aims to answer the following questions: ...

Ecton Inc Case Summary
Ecton, Inc., a startup company, has brought a new invention into the ultrasound equipment industry.
This invention exists in the form of a compact, easy to use, non conventional and newly developed
Doppler echocardiography technology. The company is now poised to move from the product
developmental phase of its invention to bringing it to launch in the market. Towards a successful and
profitable launch however, the company needs to make a choice on whether to activate its marketing
and production efforts towards an existence as an independent company or whether to use the success
of the invention to pursue a deal to be acquired by a large firm. In making a choice, the company

The Company s strategy lies in making this lowly priced product attractive to an alternative market (a
narrowed segment of users) outside the traditional cardiology settings namely in such areas as ICUs,
Surgery departments and physician s offices. The advantage of tackling such a narrow segment is that
Ecton Inc, is able to immune itself from the cult followership enjoyed by the established makers of
Echo Machines from the Echo Techs Also, as against the widely used Mammoth state of the art Echo
machines widely sold by established manufacturers Ecton s new Doppler echocardiography
instrument delivered a compact easy to use product which has some of the important features of a
standard echo machine at a fraction of the standard price. To attain such low price, Ecton also
employed some cost effective approach (e.g. making the machine compact) in ensuring its delivery to
the market at such low price as there are no indication in the case that the products were delivered to
the market at a discount. By drastically reducing the price of the product to a price point of $38,000, a
fraction of the standard price of echo machines, and by targeting a potentially huge target base of
alternative consumer other than the 35% already captured by the cardiology industry (narrowed focus
strategy), the

The Objectivity Of Science And Science
The objectivity of science would be contingent on our trust in the scientists who are feeding us
knowledge. We often believe these scientists, but is there actually a reason for us to trust what they are
passing on to us? What would science be if they had not been telling the truth? There is no denying the
existence of public trust in the words of scientists, but it should be noted that everything that we
understand as scientific fact today would be in question if we lost trust in our scientists. Teachers of
science, doers of science, and scientific writers are most definitely the source of the majority of our
scientific knowledge. We have to trust these people though because if we do not trust them, who do
we trust?
The main point I am ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And if so, is being virtuous and moral enough of a reason for us to confirm our trust in the reliability
and authority of science? Could it not be the case that scientists are seen as ordinary people possessing
extraordinary knowledge as a result of their job title or description? The fact that we have this
widespread trust of science proves that we must believe to have an understanding of what scientists
are like.
There has been a long going development of a public image of scientists, one that has recently begun
to change. Due to factors such as the internet and the media, science is something that is able to been
seen and looked into simultaneously by numerous people. When a scientist intentionally fudges their
data, it is not small news. Problems of this sort have birthed various concerns about science, and about
science s authority and reliability in specific. This speculation of dishonest scientists not only will
effect the reliability of science in the eyes of the public, but also the realm in which scientists are
producing truly credible knowledge. Our technical knowledge is only as secure as the moral economy
in which it is produced (Shapin, ?). As of now, the way in which scientists come to agree or settle
disputes, is an issue that we cannot fully grasp.
This skepticism of scientific objectivity appears to be the cause of a number of our fundamental
contemporary dilemmas regarding the morality and authority of science. As long as scientists

My five page paper is on a famous baseball star named Roberto Clemente. As he was very talented, he
also cared and loved for everyone. He would help those in need and enjoy it too. All around Roberto
Clemente was a wonderful man. In these next five pages I will be talking about his life and how he
was a good samaritan throughout his life.
Roberto Clemente was born in the summer in August 18, 1934. He was born in a house of concrete
and wood on an old country road in Barrio San Anton, Carolina, Puerto Rico. He was the youngest of
seven children. His father was a foreman overseeing sugar cane cutters and helped deliver sand and
gravel for a construction company. His mother did laundry, ran a grocery store and did other jobs on
the sugar cane plantation. Roberto did odd jobs so he could help the family and buy himself a bicycle.
Growing up, Roberto played baseball and participated in track and field. He won medals for the
javelin throw and short distance races. Throwing the javelin strengthened his arm for throwing a
baseball. Roberto was a very athletic boy.
Roberto Clemente had four brothers and two sisters. He did have to work with his father loading and
unloading trucks because his family was poor. He was very interested in baseball ever since he was
young and played against teams in his neighborhood. He went to Vizcarrondo High School in

  • 2. The Effects Of Fast Food On Children Did you know that 30% of children ages 6 to 11 are overweight? 15.3% of children ages 6 to 11 are obese? The impact obesity has on a child can become life changing. According to the CDC if current trends continue, 1 of 3 U.S. adults will have diabetes by 2050 (Evans, W, 2006). Behind the mask of obesity is a child that falls into the trap of fast food advertisement. Overall, the fast food industry should be more socially responsible and not direct their marketing strategy of unhealthy food choices to children; this will cut down the percentage of children suffering from childhood obesity that leads to various health issues. One might object here, that it is a free market and freedom of speech is part of the U.S. Constitution. However, everyone has a different opinion about fast food and boudaries must be respected. Still the fast food market is targeting children too often and too much, even involving Schools to advertise unhealthy food in exchange for funding. One may argue, children learn by example, parents are responsible for leading them in the right direction of how to make healthy food choices. With this being said, parents are beginning to become concerned with how the fast food is being marketed to children. One of the largest leading industries known as fast food continues to market unhealthy promotions, targeting young minds. Children watch an average of over ten related food advertisements daily, and (nearly 4,000 per year) (Powell LM, S. R. 2011). ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Corporate Governance and Control in Japan Corporate governance and control in Japan: can the barriers to foreign takeover activity in Japan ever be removed? Japan s seeming impenetrability to foreign takeovers, largely due to the prevailing corporate culture and governance that allegedly hinders such takeovers, has defined business firms and companies in the last decades (Lebrun, 2001; Gerlach, 1992; Maher and Wong, 1994; Seeman, 1986; Seeman, 1987; Stern, 1998). Such barriers have gradually been buoyed down by the worldwide economic recession of the recent times an indication that while these barriers may not be totally lifted, the prospect of reducing it is optimistic (Itoh and Vestring, 2001; Larimer, 1999; Seeman, 1986; Seeman, 1987; JETRO, 2002;). Japanese inter corporate relationships are considered in terms of three different structures of interaction: corporate groupings, financial centrality, and industrial interdependency. Almost all decisions in Japanese business are group decisions, which require virtually unanimous support from the members of the team making the decision Foreign firms, which, to a great extent, need to acquire market shares in Japan, the nation with the world s greatest trade surplus, find their way to major acquisitions in Japan virtually blocked by Japanese customs. They face substantial barriers to acquiring Japanese companies. With Japanese PERs approaching the 100 level, most foreigners will hardly find Japanese firms a bargain. Most of the mergers and acquisitions business has ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Real Estate And Its Effects On The Economy Essay Real Estate Investing Real Estate has been a driving force in world economies since the days of Babylon, one of the most fantastic developments the world has ever known, and the desire to create, not destroy, is alive and well. As the world grows more populous and available land diminishes, the opportunities that real estate development has to offer are vast and obtainable. As we descend from the booming 90s and find ourselves burdened with the realities of our own self inflicted economic implosion caused by greed and speculation, many investors find solace in the tangible world of real estate. Moreover, the destructive effects of September the 11th are still disgorged down through our economy, which is causing an ever increasing desire for a more concrete wealth building option not offered by many paper investments. Many investors are still coping with the fall of such giants as Enron and world to come, while others are looking for the stability that the real estate market offers, and when you add all these ingredients to the grossly over priced US stock market, one find a more appealing meal in the fascinating world of real estate. In this paper, I will go to talk about the 8 Tips for Success in real estate investing; first be resolved because the Real estate is not something to do on a caprice. Investing in real estate is a lifelong pursuit to take control of your financial future, not a get rich quick blueprint. As investors you will struggle ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Human civilizations throughout time have struggled with understanding nature and society s purposes in nature, which often stems from responsibility, coexistence, and population control concerns for humanity as well as animal kind. Several wolf species have faced persecution and sever lost of habitat because of humans. Man kind s treatment of varying wolf species clearly stems from people s attempt to balance responsibility, coexistence, and population control, but failing miserably. However, human civilizations recently begun to intensely attempt to be responsible with nature, coexist with other inhabitants of nature, and ethical population control for animals with the use of education and advancements in technology. Human civilization s technologies have a purpose and place on earth in which humanity is morally and ethically responsible for the environment and animals of Earth that require coexistence and ethical population control intervention from mankind. Advancements in technology cause an awakening of awareness for man kind s responsibility towards humans own natural surroundings, awareness of human impact on those surroundings, and human s impact on other inhabitants. • 6. Superbowl Essay The Story of The NFL Shop Family The Superbowl is one of the most widely watched television events in the nation every year. Unlike many other sporting events, the Superbowl is not watched by fans of the sport alone, but by just about anyone with access to a television. Growing up, my brother was the only avid sports fan in the house, but every year the whole family would crowd around the TV to watch The Superbowl. My brother excluded, we did this not out of real interest for the sport of Football, but because we wanted to see all of the brand new (and hopefully emotionally arousing) commercials that air during the Superbowl. Through the years, the Superbowl has actually become known for this aspect. Recently certain websites have even began holding an annual ranking for the best and worst Superbowl commercials each year. Though I wasn t particularly interested in the Superbowl last year, one commercial still stands out to me almost eight months later. It is a commercial for nflshop.com, and it seems to convey the story of a family that begins as Vikings fans but over time expands into a family of Vikings, Bengals, Eagles, Steelers, and Cowboys fans. Depending on the viewer s perspective on the commercial, in its short 30 second duration the advertisement either tells the story of a touching progressive family molded by life experiences or of a very noncommittal family with various impractical team affiliations. Either by alienation or affection the commercial conveys a very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

In Arkansas, there are free tobacco quitline referral programs. Once a referral is submitted, the tobacco or nicotine user will receive a call from a Quit Counselor within 24 hours. Anyone who is referred should be planning a quit date within the next 30 days. Quit Counselors work with tobacco and nicotine users to create a customized, individual quit plan, which includes free counseling services by phone, online, or both. Although the ADH focuses on all aspects of smokers, the Arkansas Department of health has a strong passion to help those who suffer from second hand smoke. Plastered throughout Arkansas cities and on nearly every television, the ADH runs ads of children both young and old that suffer from second hand smoke. Perhaps one of the strongest ads is the one that has a picture of a hand grenade and a cigarette and says they are both capable of killing anyone within forty feet. • 11. Drones Persuasive Speech The FAA said it receives on average 25 reports a month of drones flying too close to manned aircraft. Even though recreational drone flights are supposed to be kept under 400 feet. In July 2014, a drone narrowly missed colliding with an Airbus A320 as it was taking off from London s Heathrow airport. The plane was at about 700 feet when the incident occurred and BBC reported that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) rated the incident as a serious risk of collision. Although the military uses drones a lot on the daily basis for good things to keep them safe, drones should be banned from the public as they are not safe for the public to have a handle on, people use them for the wrong things, and this is similar to the issue of guns and semi automatic weapons, they just don t belong in the hands of private citizens. ... Cooper and discussed how librarians are to deal with the issues of intellectual freedom and censorship in libraries while serving in the best interest of their patrons. This article states that with intellectual freedom, individuals have the right to allow their minds to take them wherever to gain understanding, information, and ideas. Libraries are where these individuals can gain such understanding by being served with access to all types of information in different formats, regardless of content. This war was also believed to be, at the time, the war to end all wars. It started on the 28th of July 1914 and was triggered by the assassination of Franz Ferdinand, the Archduke of Austria. On the 25th of April 1915, the British Empire sent the Australian and New Zealand Army Corp to Gallipoli in an invasion where the young soldiers were essentially led on a suicide mission. They were outnumbered. The campaign ended in a gruesome and horrific massacre of the ANZAC troops. The battle between Australia and Turkey on the Gallipoli Campaign during World War 1 is often glorified in the recognition of the ANZAC s excessive qualities such as courage and endurance; which is now known as the ANZAC Legend. However, it is undeniable that the reality of how the ANZAC legend was altered through propaganda, exaggeration and misunderstanding to portray a successful campaign. The fact that the ANZAC Legend was highly exaggerated is not often debated for the purpose of attempting to convince citizens that the deaths of the soldiers who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign were not in vain. we need to scrape off the barnacles and make sure the commemorations are actually about the soldiers and the tragedy of what they endured (Payne, 2015). Unfortunately, the causes and effects of this universal dilemma deteriorate the health and well being of all life forms on earth. Although land, light, and noise pollution leave their mark on this planet, air and water pollution inflict even more damage. Across the globe, from Beijing to the U.S. to Africa, we see, and contribute to the causes of pollution daily. Because of harmful chemicals that waft up to the atmosphere, the ozone faces depletion. Automobiles and other forms of transportation emit dangerous toxins, along with putrid, black smoke that spews from the exhaust pipes of large vehicles. Smoke from factories contributes generously to contamination, as well. Five years ago a family vacation to Jamaica changed the way I saw everything and made me appreciate the people I love and where I come from. It all started with the worst airplane ride. About thirty minutes into the ride the flight attendant started going around offering snacks. These purple potato chips caught my eye so that s what I decided to get. I should have known something so bright couldn t have been good to eat. I instantly regretted eating the chip after taking a bite out of that awfully weird tasting potato chip because immediately after, I felt a striking pain in my lower abdomen. I tried to relieve the pain by loosening the seat belt buckle. I drank ginger ale, tried to position myself differently to feel less discomfort but nothing helped. My brother was too busy on his I pad to care, my other brother was too young to formulate proper sentences and my mom was too far gone in her sleep, she couldn t have been any help fresh out of slumber. I just rocked back and forth releasing oohs and ah s here and there because the pain was intolerable. I kept on for the remaining three hour flight weeping and wincing, trying to keep quiet so I wouldn t disturb anyone. Landing in Jamaica was supposed to be exciting, but how could I be excited when I was in pain. My mom, two younger brothers and I were waiting for my uncle to arrive and take us to his house, so I took this opportunity to tell my mom what was going on. She believed that it might just be cramps so she buys me two bottles of ginger beer which is like the ginger ale of Jamaica, So I drank and I drank and I drank but nothing happened. My uncle finally arrived after 15 minutes of chugging down the ginger beer. We were settling in my uncle s house and my mom tried everything she could to make me feel better. She made tea, gave me more ginger beer, and a hot pack for my stomach but nothing worked. The business model (BM) delineates the logic of how an organization creates, acquires, and delivers value and facilitates the organization s strategy implementation through the organizational structures, processes, and systems (Osterwalder Pigneur, 2010). The BM seeks to establish and maintain a relationship with a targeted demographic through the provision of benefits that solve a problem or meets a need. This value proposition is available through key resources, activities, and partnerships in respect to the cost structure and is delivered to the customer through channels; the value proposition returns to the organization in the form of revenue stream. The BM is an aggregation of components that align to support the organization s philosophy of how it plans to prosper. Customer segments identify the customer that the organization desires to reach and serve. Customer relationships are defined by the type of relationship the organization establishes with the customer segment. Value propositions specify the benefits (products and services) that an organization can provide a customer to meet a need or solve a problem. Key resources are the assets that enable the organization to offer value, reach the market, maintain relationships, and earn revenue. Key activities detail the actions the organization must perform to operate successfully. Key partnerships are business alliances that optimize the strategy and provide resources. Psychological contract in view of ARGYRIS: One of the first writers to use the term psychological contract was ARGYRIS in 1960 who defined it as the implicit understanding between a group of employees and their foreman. He described it as: A relationship may be hypothesized to evolve between the employees and the foremen which might be called the psychological work contract . The employee will maintain high production, low grievances etc. if the foreman guarantees and respects the norms of the employee informal culture (i.e. let the employees alone, make certain they make adequate wages and have secure jobs). In other words, he was proposing that a relationship existed that potentially, had a stronger influence on employees performance and attitudes than the formal contract of employment. However, Argyris referred to the psychological contract only in passing, and Levinson et al (1962) claim to have been the father of the concept. They defined it as the unwritten contract, the sum of the mutual expectations between the organization and employee . Psychological contract in view of SCHEIN: The early view of the psychological contract, like the social contract before clearly refers to mutual expectations and obligations. It differs from the social contract as it specifically relates to the workplace and what the foreman expects of their team and what team members, in turn, expect from the foreman. Many people think taking this pill is just like killing their child, as if they were taking the RU 486 pill or getting a surgical abortion. This is an incorrect assumption on their part. Alkyl Halides In this lab, the experimenters will determine how the structure of an alkyl halide (i.e. methyl, primary, secondary, or tertiary), steric effects, nature of a leaving group, and solvent polarity affect the relative rates of SN1 and SN2 reactions. In addition, comparing the rates of reactions under varying concentrations of alkyl halides and nucleophiles will help determine the rate laws for both types of nucleophilic substitution reactions. During SN2 reactions, a good nucleophile, like iodide, will displace the leaving group on an alkyl halide in a single step that results in an inversion of configuration. Methyl, primary, and some secondary halides undergo this bimolecular substitution reaction. Minimal steric effects combined with a good leaving group and a polar, aprotic solvent ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The more stable the resulting carbocation, the quicker this step occurs. After this rate limiting step, rapid reaction with a weak nucleophile (e.g. ethanol) attacking from either side of the carbocation completes the substitution reaction. A racemic mixture forms with a slight favoring of the inverted molecule because of ion pair formation. A good leaving group capable of delocalizing a negative charge aids in the formation of the initial carbocation. Additionally, polar, protic solvents capable of solvating and stabilizing a carbocation support the SN1 mechanism. Tertiary alkyl halides provide the ideal substrate for the formation of a stable tertiary carbocation that favors the SN1 mechanisms. When testing the factors affecting the SN2 reaction below, the experimenters will achieve the fastest reaction when using a primary alkyl halide with minimal branching and the best leaving group (i.e. 1 bromobutane). Within the Gold Cadillac, the racism is a little better concealed. We don t know that the main family are black for sure, until line 166, after Wilbert (the father) has said he is going to go down to Mississippi and Mr. Pondexter say Not much those folks hate more n to see a northern Negro ... In Country Lovers, it is obviously about racism from line 10 onwards. We are constantly finding out how the white people have a far better life than the black people: in education, belongings, housing, and general life. For example, while Thebedi and Njabulo live in a hut Njabulo had built in white man s style, with a tin chimney, and a proper window with glass panes set in straight as walls made of unfired bricks would allow , the farmer and his son lived in a house thick walled, dark against the heat. It is interesting to note that Njabulo has attempted to copy the white man s house, but doesn t have the resources available. The way we are told, it seems that having a proper window is something he is very proud of. However the white man has big thick walls on his house, which appear to act as a form of barrier from anything to do with the black world. At the end of the Country Lovers story, we find that the farmers son is allowed to get away with murder, and that the press and public congratulated for him. He won the case, because Thebedi had decided that it wasn t worth it, as white people run the court, that she can t win. One very effective method for talking about racism in The ... The Disclosure Quality Of Information Of Securities Analysts Moreover, securities analysts play the important roles of the users and providers of information and their sources of information include public information that all analysts know and private information that is possessed by individual analysts (Barron et al., 1998). Therefore, both the improvement of the transparency of listed companies public information and analysts private information can lead to an increase of the accuracy of analysts forecasts. Due to the lower costs of acquisition, the public information issued by the listed companies that act as the main sources of information of securities analysts is particularly important among them (Schipper, 1991), scholars research also focused on the correlation between the ... It can be seen that both the theoretical and empirical research of cross listing show a feature of diversification and relevant research reveal many differences, such as market selection, sample firms, model construction, etc. Most of these studies think that if enterprises go public in overseas mature markets after they are listed in domestic markets, it will be beneficial to crossing market barriers, improving the liquidity of stocks, expanding investor base and improving the degrees of cognition. However, few research concentrate on Chinese market and it cannot be sure that whether these theories can be used to explain the problems of cross listing of Chinese companies. Essay On Physical Contact Physical Contact in the Arab World vs. the West Bayader Al Ghamdi Effat University Junior Year GSEM 200 Introduction: Physical contact is a form of communication that requires no verbal communication or writing in order to be understood although it may differ from one country and culture to another. Body language is considered to be a silent form of communications that succeeds to deliver an idea or a message. Most of the time, hand gestures and physical contact are known to be more effective than words. The most important thing in communication is hearing what is not said. (Peter Durocher, 1967, p2). Such as, a wide smile on a child s face can say more than a thousand words could ever say. Thus, there are many forms of nonverbal communications that touch the deep sense of humanity. Physical interaction is one of the most essential factors of human communication. Generally, it is considered as a strong form of communication. The human body is the best picture of the human soul , Ludwig Wittgenstein. Physical contact can help an individual gain another person s trust over a short period of time. However, it is still a complex topic because it differs from one culture to another. Each culture has its own traditions and ideologies. Furthermore, in some culture, certain forms of physical contact are considered forbidden, offensive or taboo. • 36. Ecton Inc Case Summary Ecton, Inc., a startup company, has brought a new invention into the ultrasound equipment industry. This invention exists in the form of a compact, easy to use, non conventional and newly developed Doppler echocardiography technology. The company is now poised to move from the product developmental phase of its invention to bringing it to launch in the market. Towards a successful and profitable launch however, the company needs to make a choice on whether to activate its marketing and production efforts towards an existence as an independent company or whether to use the success of the invention to pursue a deal to be acquired by a large firm. In making a choice, the company needs to critically evaluate whether they possess the resources ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Company s strategy lies in making this lowly priced product attractive to an alternative market (a narrowed segment of users) outside the traditional cardiology settings namely in such areas as ICUs, Surgery departments and physician s offices. The advantage of tackling such a narrow segment is that Ecton Inc, is able to immune itself from the cult followership enjoyed by the established makers of Echo Machines from the Echo Techs Also, as against the widely used Mammoth state of the art Echo machines widely sold by established manufacturers Ecton s new Doppler echocardiography instrument delivered a compact easy to use product which has some of the important features of a standard echo machine at a fraction of the standard price. To attain such low price, Ecton also employed some cost effective approach (e.g. making the machine compact) in ensuring its delivery to the market at such low price as there are no indication in the case that the products were delivered to the market at a discount. By drastically reducing the price of the product to a price point of $38,000, a fraction of the standard price of echo machines, and by targeting a potentially huge target base of alternative consumer other than the 35% already captured by the cardiology industry (narrowed focus strategy), the ... • 37. The Objectivity Of Science And Science The objectivity of science would be contingent on our trust in the scientists who are feeding us knowledge. We often believe these scientists, but is there actually a reason for us to trust what they are passing on to us? What would science be if they had not been telling the truth? There is no denying the existence of public trust in the words of scientists, but it should be noted that everything that we understand as scientific fact today would be in question if we lost trust in our scientists. Teachers of science, doers of science, and scientific writers are most definitely the source of the majority of our scientific knowledge. We have to trust these people though because if we do not trust them, who do we trust? The main point I am ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... And if so, is being virtuous and moral enough of a reason for us to confirm our trust in the reliability and authority of science? Could it not be the case that scientists are seen as ordinary people possessing extraordinary knowledge as a result of their job title or description? The fact that we have this widespread trust of science proves that we must believe to have an understanding of what scientists are like. There has been a long going development of a public image of scientists, one that has recently begun to change. Due to factors such as the internet and the media, science is something that is able to been seen and looked into simultaneously by numerous people. When a scientist intentionally fudges their data, it is not small news. Problems of this sort have birthed various concerns about science, and about science s authority and reliability in specific. This speculation of dishonest scientists not only will effect the reliability of science in the eyes of the public, but also the realm in which scientists are producing truly credible knowledge. Our technical knowledge is only as secure as the moral economy in which it is produced (Shapin, ?). As of now, the way in which scientists come to agree or settle disputes, is an issue that we cannot fully grasp. This skepticism of scientific objectivity appears to be the cause of a number of our fundamental contemporary dilemmas regarding the morality and authority of science. As long as scientists ... A Famous Baseball Star Named Roberto Clemente Bishop Noll Institute Roberto Clemente Tybolt Meyer Theology Hour 3 Mr. Castaneda December 5, 2016 Roberto Clemente My five page paper is on a famous baseball star named Roberto Clemente. As he was very talented, he also cared and loved for everyone. He would help those in need and enjoy it too. All around Roberto Clemente was a wonderful man. In these next five pages I will be talking about his life and how he was a good samaritan throughout his life. Roberto Clemente was born in the summer in August 18, 1934. He was born in a house of concrete and wood on an old country road in Barrio San Anton, Carolina, Puerto Rico. He was the youngest of seven children. His father was a foreman overseeing sugar cane cutters and helped deliver sand and gravel for a construction company. His mother did laundry, ran a grocery store and did other jobs on the sugar cane plantation. Roberto did odd jobs so he could help the family and buy himself a bicycle. Growing up, Roberto played baseball and participated in track and field. He won medals for the javelin throw and short distance races. Throwing the javelin strengthened his arm for throwing a baseball. Roberto was a very athletic boy. Roberto Clemente had four brothers and two sisters. He did have to work with his father loading and unloading trucks because his family was poor. He was very interested in baseball ever since he was young and played against teams in his neighborhood. He went to Vizcarrondo High School in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
