Characteristics Of A Successful Product Design
Nowadays, a successful product needs to consider various factors. Novelty products enrich people s
environment and lifestyle, because the product is designed by organizing a certain purpose, planning
assumptions and choosing specific carrier to better express designer s creative idea with a strong
culture value. The product is presented by a variety of elements which are combination of lines,
symbols, numbers, colors, etc. Many products contain three elements which are typically quality,
function and appearance. And it is significant to consider them well to produce a high quality,
exquisite and strong visual product. These elements fully determine the layout of the entire production
system. The importance of them is that good product design with using these elements, not only in the
functional superiority and ease of manufacturing, low production costs, but also the overall
competitiveness of the product is enhanced. Many dominant enterprises in market competition have
great attention to design elements, in order to design a low cost but with unique functionality. Many
companies in developed countries regard design as a popular strategic tool. Good design elements are
the key to win customers interests. This essay will focus its emphasizes on the quality, function and
appearance in the design and manufacturing by using a specific technological product, and it will also
describe how to balance these elements when they are in the process of designing a product. To begin

San Francisco Bay Case
December 1968, two bodies of young teenagers were found at San Francisco Bay. The teenagers were
one female and one male between the ages 16 and 17. They were found dead outside of their car when
the crime scene unit arrived on the scene they examined the vehicle as well as the vicinity. All to no
avail the crime seemed to be lacking a sexual component. Investigators assumed that the young couple
were victims of robbery but that was not the case. All of their possessions including the money had
been left untouched. Basically according to investigators the couple were victims of opportunity. Six
months later in July of 1969 to couples pulled in a recreational area located 2 miles from the

oddly enough the boy friend was shot once but no where near the vital organs. As for the female she
was shot three times, significant enough to investigators. The Federal Bureau of Investigation
gradually began to construct a preliminary profile of who this person is. Two weeks after the second
attack the San Francisco newspaper received three letters from the killer himself, taunting law
enforcement. Enclosed in the envelope along with the taunt letters a piece of paper with, Greek signs,
morse code as well series of letters from the english alphabet, each letter contained one third of a
cryptogram. If the cipher was decoded according to the person writing the letters then his identity
would be revealed. No one was able to decode it, no one not even the Central Intelligence Agency.
After a lot work a High School teacher from Salinas California was able to crack it. In translation it
said, I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest
because man is the most dangerous animal of all to kill. His note did not give his named as promised, I

The Importance Of The Social Identity Of American Culture
Since the dawn of mankind, society has proven subject to constant evolution, thus increasing the
importance of the understanding of customs present worldwide, among such habits proving both the
correlation and differentiation between each form of communication. An immense necessity under the
intention of providing international peace, whilst simultaneously maintaining respect of cultural
diversity, the ability to contribute amongst one another to the progression of civilization through
minimal conflict has proven a possibility through the awareness of alterations between the social
identity of others within the cultural spectrum. However, should misinterpretation result upon contrast
between separate social dynamics, the expectation of unity may fail to prove synonymous with reality,
thus creating the inability to decipher the exchange of ideas and the connection among others. Among
each form of communication, the social values present within my family have led to the belief of
having identified as direct in communication. Evident through the importance taught of honesty, I
have proven similar in social dynamics to the vast majority of American culture, thus primarily
remaining true to my personal opinion, the contextual circumstances present held in little regard.
Unfortunately, despite the apparent benefits of such matters, I have failed to prove similar in customs
in communication to those present among an English teacher of South Korean nationality. In

The s Theory Of Entrepreneurship
As one looks at the history of entrepreneurship, they will notice the variety of definitions and
entrepreneurial elements that economists use to explain the topic. Although there are many vital parts
of this concept, Israel Kirzner developed his own view that many economists take into account when
creating their own definition. Basically, Kirzner s theory of entrepreneurship held the idea of alertness
as its backbone. Without the use of alertness, entrepreneurs would never discover opportunities, which
allows their competitors to easily surpass them. However, if the entrepreneur is alert, then they will
notice an opportunity where innovation is needed and in return they will usually profit. When others
analyzed Kirzner s theory, they criticized the amount of value that Kirzner put on alertness because
they believed he lost sight of the creativity and the imagination aspect of entrepreneurship. After
Kirzner developed his theory, years later an economist by the name of Frederic Sautet decided to
elaborate more on Kirzner s concept. Basically, Sautet portrayed alertness as the central piece to his
and Kirzner s view of an entrepreneur; however, he went into more depth in order to help silence
Kirzner s critics. Sautet explains, It simply means that before one unleashes one s own creativity,
imagination, and judgment, one has to come to recognize one s own creativity, imagination, and
judgment (95). Sautet explains that Kirzner did not disregard creativity and imagination

The Absolute True Diary Of A Part Time Indian
In Sherman Alexie s novel The Absolute True Diary of a Part Time Indian, Sherman uses Community
and homing in ; Land and Nature ; and History to make the historical adolescent novel a part of
American Indian literature. Community and homing in is used when Junior leaves the reservation for a
better future, and in return the reservation resents Junior for leaving the reservation and becoming
White washed . Alexie uses land and Nature to create liminal spaces when the protagonist of the story,
Junior, feels conflict between the dominant race and that of the inferior. Afterwards, history is used by
Sherman by showing generational references in order to provide the reader a point of view through the
eyes of a young Native American boy from a reservation. When Junior decides to leave the school at
the reservation for the school outside the reservation named, Reardan, the people of the reservation
resent him for, but none affected him the most like the resentment from Junior s best friend, Rowdy.
You ll never do it he said. you re too scared ... bang! Rowdy punched me ... I hit the ground ... My
nose bled like a fire work (Alexie 51 52). Along with the passage there was an illustration to
accompany the situation in the chapter, which read I hate you! You suck! You white lover! (53). These
actions by Rowdy greatly reflects part of the idea of community and homing in , in the copy pack used
in the classroom, it states that Native Americans value the community over

Catholic Culture
In the monograph entitled, Architects of Catholic Culture, Thomas Cook (2011) notes that there is a
configuration of core beliefs and values that distinguish Catholicism from other Christian
denominations. (p. 17). Among these beliefs is the attitude that community strengthens the individual s
relationship with Jesus, and as such, it is an integral part of faith formation. Additionally, Gospel
values inform the catechesis of elementary schools, which frequently include faith, service, courage,
and social justice, among others. Significantly, faith is not static or unchanging. Faith must be known,
celebrated, lived, and expressed in prayer. (United States Conference of Catholic, 2005). Therefore,
effective catechesis relies on six elements that are fundamental to faith formation. Each element is an
essential component. Initially, knowledge of the faith is acquired through an understanding of the
scriptures as well as an understanding of church traditions. Additionally, an understanding of the
liturgy and the sacraments is gained by participating in the Mass and in the reception of the
sacraments. Further, moral formation is based on an understanding of Christ s moral message. Next,
and fundamental to the Catholic identity is teaching students to ... Show more content on

College Essay On Peer Pressure
Eyeballing the Gatorade bottle as it became full of smoke, I knew I had caved into peer pressure. Peer
pressure can be a big obstacle for lots of teens. Although peer pressure can sometimes be a positive, it
is often harmful and damaging. That type of negative influence from one s peers can lead them to try
things they usually would have no interest in trying. When I was about to turn thirteen, I learned just
how true my previous statement was. All it took for me to experience peer pressure for the first time
was a couple of grams of marijuana.
When I was younger, I would spend most of my summer nights playing video games with my friends.
Most nights, you would find me with one friend in particular, and that friend was (at the time) sixteen
year old Kevin Gomez. I would walk to Kevin s house since he lived a couple of minutes away from
me. This night however, Kevin and I agreed to meet at his aunt s house due to her being on vacation.
Sitting on his aunt s beige couches that had been wrapped in plastic, we had begun the night the exact
way we had begun any other night, by playing video games. We were roughly an hour into our gaming
session, when from the corner of my eye I spotted Kevin reaching for something from inside his right
pocket. He pulled out what appeared to be a tiny plastic bag. The moment he opened the bag I knew
exactly what he had brought with him. Instantly the smell of skunk had filled my nostrils.
You tryna smoke? Kevin said as he set his PlayStation

Inspect Your Exterior Doors for Damage In an emergency evacuation situation, you don t want poorly
constructed or maintained exterior doors trapping your employees inside. Take a few minutes to
inspect important aspects of the door, such as the hinges, the latch, and the knob. Questions to ask
when inspecting your doors include: Do the hinges move easily or haltingly? Is there any catch in the
latch or any trick you need to use to get it open? Does the door handle move easily or with difficulty?
Is the door too heavy for weaker employees to move? Does it swing inward, potentially preventing
people from escaping in a panic? If the answer to any of these questions is problematic, it may be time
to either get your door repaired or replaced. After all, you don t want an inward swinging door
dooming your employees to a death by fire. Bring It Together With a Fire Drill Conducting fire drills
is the best way to check how prepared your employees are for an emergency. Never announce them
before: unveiling them without warning will help make sure your employees know exactly what to

Blanch Dubois In A Streetcar Named Desire
Ralph Waldo Emerson once ardently said, To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make
you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Blanche was the exact opposite of unique because
she said certain things to be liked by others. She constantly attempted to portray herself to be perfect
in the eyes of others to make herself feel more secure about her inner self. Making fabrications up to
herself and to others allowed her to make life appear impeccable. Stanley, her sister s realistic
husband, doesn t approve of Blanche and does everything he can to disentangle her prevarications. In

She slept with various men and when she got to Laurel, the cunning woman acted as if nothing
happened. Her fantasy began here, where she would purposely make people believe that she was a
modest young woman. As time progressed, she met a guy named Mitch. Falling for her charm, Mitch
was blinded by his love for Blanche and could not see past the real her. When Stanley confronted
Mitch about Blanche s true identity, he denied it and called him a pretentious liar. All Mitch wanted
was for Blanche to be his forever so he could not see past her deceits. Soon enough he started seeing
Blanche s true colors, and he could finally confirm that what Stanley was trying to tell him was
accurate. He no longer wanted to marry her because her past lies caught up to her. She could not hide
her identity forever and the truth finally came out. Overall, reality overpowers fantasy but Williams
shows that fantasy is still essential to Blanche s life. Blanche revisits her personal fantasies to protect
herself from the real world. This insanity makes her capable of avoiding to accept reality. Escaping
reality fully, Blanche has to manipulate the exterior world as what she perceives it to be. The
happiness that Blanche feels is simulated and this conveys fantasy is an essential part of many people

Ap Us History Dbq Analysis
Throughout the American History, Americans had constantly settled on agreements on how slavery
should be treated. In the early 19th century, the government had settled on compromises like the
compromise of 1850 and the Missouri compromise. Which gave out a fair equivalence of
opportunities and downgrades for each side, but by 1860 this had no longer seemed possible for each
side, they constantly had conflicts that the South decided to separate. The reasons on which they
decided to seperate were due to the country having different ideology views on slavery, to the
government not taking action, and verbal/physical conflict.
The country at this time had different ideologies and ideas on how slavery should be dealt with,

The Trauma Informed Skill At Hamilton Center

semester working with my clients at Hamilton Center. I utilized the activities that my supervisor and I
discussed were most beneficial towards the client population I was counseling at the time. Many of
my clients suffer from PTSD, Substance Use disorders, or other mood disorders. The majority of my
clients are also middle aged men who politely refused any yoga activities. One client heard the choice,
looked around my small office and shook his head grinning.

In the prior session, the client detailed his family relationships, legal issues, and discussed how his
father played a role in his life. The activity was selected as a way to get the client to think about
someone important in his life and then later process the information. The client was to listen to my
prompt and imagine opening an envelope with a letter inside. He would open the envelope, read the
letter and visualize the letter for a few moments. After reading the letter he was instructed to explain
who the letter was from and what the letter said. I originally planned this activity thinking that the
client would visualize his father writing him a letter but, I was mistaken. When I processed the
activity, the client discussed how his mother wrote the letter and told him to behave and stay out of
trouble. His mother has been a guiding force for the client throughout his life and the client felt guilty
that she was suffering with cancer while he was locked up for many years. The client, to this day,
cannot visit her until his charges are settled or dropped. Utilizing this activity was a quick and easy
way to assess where the client s thought process was during our session. I was able to gather more
data about his family life and later connect it to his PTSD diagnosis. I consider this activity a success
because I was able to obtain more and better data about the client s life and his current thoughts and

CEO of BP Essay
When Robert Horton left his position as Chairman and CEO of BP, the company was in financial
trouble and the employee morale was notably low. The company was experiencing losses, the debt to
equity ratio was out of control, and the company had positioned itself in so many diverse markets that
most of the employees had no idea what the company mission and goals were. When David Simon
took over as CEO, he was faced with the daunting task of turning the wayward company around.
Simon accomplished this task for three reasons: he diagnosed and modified the organizational culture;
he possessed important leadership skills; and he knew how to motivate employees.
One of the biggest deficiencies of Horton s management was his attempt to Americanize ... Show

The drive Simon possessed was magnified through his years of school and his progression through the
company. The case illustrates Simon s drive with the story of him being told by a teacher that he
should go into industry. She was implying he was not an intellectual but this criticism only fueled his
drive. These are just a few of the characteristics Simon possessed in addition to being a good
communicator and being able to inspire trust.
In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to motivate
his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was the
ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon set simple
goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their progress. Not only
was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped reward the employees in
timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to achieve as he was described
as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without them really knowing he is
doing it (Davidson).
All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite employees
and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of BP and in
time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP, his approach
was not without flaw. One

Inquisitor By Bernard Shaw
Inquisitor Analysis In the Inquisitor, by George Bernard Shaw argues that Joan should be charged with
death due to heresy because if the church doesn t, the church will be destroyed because heresy is
worse than anything else. Shaw uses ethical appeal, analogy, and emotional appeal to make the
audience feel ashamed if they don t burn her for her crime. First, Shaw argues that heresy is a very
serious issue that causes damage. He states, If you had seen what I have seen of heresy, you would not
think of it a light thing even in its most apparently harmless and even lovable and pious origin. Shaw
uses emotional appeal in referring to how we must see heresy in the same light as him. He feels as if it
is one of the worst crimes one could commit due to the damage it causes in society and the church.

accessible on internet(facebook, youtube, etc). John Lewis also was running a snowman hunt, with six

department did very well as they came with articles just before launching the advert letting people
know when and where will they be able to see the advert. The personal selling was great as well as
when going to the check out they would ask the customers if they found everything they need and also
if they would be interested in buying the snowman book, etc. Direct marketing was great as well as
there was a twitter account where you could fallow the snowman s adventure, and competitions on
Facebook and in store. An improvement I would say it would be that maybe the customers where
interested in more sales promotions and more direct marketing would convince customers to buy more
products and come to John Lewis more often. Although the Advert did cost a huge amount of money
that is nothing compared to the £157.8 million revenue they made last year. Another reason why I
think that the campaign was successful was that the advert they made has been voted as the year s
most favourite TV advert. And finally the last reason why I am sure that the campaign was extremely
successful was that none of the directors of John Lewis expected a record breaker sales figure. Web

The Music Of The Digital Age
In today s digital age, the record industry is booming and in 2014 alone recorded music generated
almost 15 billion dollars, ( Global Recorded Music Sales Totalled US $15 billion in 2014. ) and now,
more than ever is the best time to capitalize on it. Due to the increased value of music and money that
is being brought in from such artists as Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West music is
becoming a money making game. There are many start up indie labels that are capitalizing on local
music scenes all around the world. By doing this they earn money, as well as promoting originality
and exposing music that should be heard by the masses. Because the DIY music scene is booming,
with places such as Brooklyn, LA, Philly and Austin all on the rise, now is a great time to promote,
record and expose tomorrow s future stars. For me and my label, Basement Tapes Records, I am going
to create a record label that is different than the rest. I will only sign and promote unknown artists who
have the potential to be great. I plan keeping everything in house that includes, production, promotion,
revenue, and having producers that only work for my label. By doing all of these things I feel as
though I can build Basement Tapes Records, to be a successful, money making, label. Originality and
the ability to be different are crucial in today s music world. By being different I am more likely to

Assess The Causes And Consequences Of The Civil War
Assess the causes and consequences of the civil war (49 45) in this period Civil war Argument in topic
sentence The Roman Republic was a system of procedures formed by tradition; there was no written
constitution or legally binding legislation. Precedent and consensus set procedure creating the
parameters for acceptable behaviour. However, it was near the end of the 2nd century BC, where the
system began to deteriorate and fall, ultimately causing the civil war in 49 BC. The boundaries of
acceptable behaviour were stretched by politicians such as Caesar and Pompey and as a result new
perilous precedents were set. Violence along with the use of an army became a political tool in the
domestic, political sphere. The civil war laid on the foundations that constitutional methods proved
ineffective in the face of an inadequate aristocratic government and therefore Caesar and the senate
lead by Pompey used violence and rebellion against each other in an attempt to stabilise the
administrative system of government and essentially control Rome. Caesar himself ignited the civil
war as a result of the unstable Roman Republic, major events such as rebellion and revolts, senate and
the political sphere and the breakdown of the triumvirate, which fuelled the motive for civil war. The
corrupted Roman system alongside with personal issues and disagreements became the catalyst for the
civil war of 49 BC and consequently set the parameters for the new dictatorial Roman world. Causes

state appearance in over eight years and we blew it in the sectional final game. That was the last time I
would ever play high school basketball.
As the state tournament rolled around, I got more and more anxious knowing that I would have to sit

morning I grabbed my favorite Harry Potter book and my dad and I left on for a short one and a half

The Role Of The Hero In Paradise Lost
Critics abroad have argued about who the hero is of John Milton s Paradise Lost: Satan, Adam or
Christ, the Son? Since Milton s overall theme stated in the opening lines of Book I is to relate Man s
first disobedience and to justify the ways of God to men , Adam must be regarded as the main hero.
John M. Steadman supports this view in an essay on Paradise Lost: It is Adam s action which
constitutes the argument of the epic. Steadman continues: The Son and Satan embody heroic
archetypes and that, through the interplay of the infernal and celestial strategies, Milton represents
Satan s plot against man and Christ s resolution to save him as heroic enterprises. Christ and Satan are
therefore epic machines. (268 272) Although Satan may be an epic machine, he is best portrayed as
the tragic anti hero of Paradise Lost or, at the very least, a main character who possesses the stature
and attributes which enable him to achieve tragic status. In the Greek tradition, the essential
components of tragedy are admiration, fear and pity for the hero , who has to display a tragic
weakness or flaw in his character, which will lead to his downfall. It might be argued that the flaws in
Satan s character are such that we should feel no admiration, fear or pity for him, yet he can be seen to
inspire these emotions. Satan s tragic flaws are pointed out in Book I. They are envy, pride, and
ambition towards self glorification. Satan s pride, in particular, is stressed throughout

How Did Joseph Haydn Develop Music During The 18th Century
Joseph Haydn, in full Franz Joseph Haydn (born March 31, 1732, Rohrau, Austria died May 31, 1809,

development of the Classical style in music during the 18th century. He helped establish the forms and
styles for the string quartet and the symphony.
Haydn, from a young age, displayed unusually great musical gifts, and a cousin who was choirmaster
in the nearby city of Hainburg offered to take him and train him. Haydn, not yet six years old, left
home, never to return to his humble cottage except for rare visits.

There are have been many arguments throughout the history of Shakespearean academia regarding the
validity of Shakespeare s authorship to Titus Andronicus, and the critics have not been shy to express
their discontent of its seemingly endless violent montage. As Michael Fentiman and Harold Fuller

all the editors and critics agree in supposing this play spurious...for the colour of style is wholly

Virtually, all the central characters killed each other off in a downward spiral of luscious revenge
(Shakespeare). It is striking in its contrast to the likes of Romeo and Juliet or Hamlet or Macbeth to
where Shakespeare dove deep into the emotions and psyche of human life (RedEyesTakeWarning).
Violence and death were not foreign concepts to the people of the Elizabethan era, as medieval life
was chocked full of war, famine, and plague. In the case of entertainment, violence and death were no
strangers as people would flock to see bear baiting, including Queen Elizabeth. (Mabillard).
Allistair Brown claims that we take entertainment out of simulated violence because it is cathartic
(Brown). Brown also argues that, Violence becomes comic because laughter, denying the reality or
seriousness of whatever threatens, is a way of dealing with trauma (Brown). With the world being
consumed with death at every doorstep, what is so far fetched at the notion that Titus Andronicus is an
extremely dark comedy to help a broken soul cope with the grim reality of medieval life? As there is
almost nothing else for society to take away as a benefit from the play (RedEyesTakeWarning), what
else could it be? There are already plenty of examples in literature that deliver morals and lessons
learned from seeking revenge. Why

However, the three other terms are not used in today s society and I am curious to know why they are
not used anymore. Dumb Dora is a word used to describe a foolish and shortsighted female. Although
derogatory terms are not good, I am interested to understand why it isn t used in modern day. It may
be because the terminology used at the time was when there was gender inequality. The vocabulary
used to describe someone in the 1920 s show how much the world has changed over the years. For
example, you aren t going to find a guy trying to pick up girls at a street corner as often as you were in

taught in a single course. We justify a single course by the fact that modern operating systems are
tightly coupled with networking, and that administration of a computer system involves both operating
system and networking issues. We have developed a course consistent with the current curriculum
standards, while at the same time raising the profile of the role of IS majors in system and network
administration. Our course teaches the fundamental principles of operating systems and networks, but
with a decidedly information systems slant. The course is a marriage of traditional computer science

Docetism In Gnosticism
One of the early heresies was Docetism, which held that Jesus only seemed human. They based this
belief on an assumption that God can t become flesh. Docetism treats John 1:14 as figurative where it
states that the Word was made flesh. Part of their reasoning for this belief can be attributed to the view
of flesh as sinful which would result as a problem for God, who is divine, to become imprisoned
inside. However, Jesus was nailed to a cross and real blood flowed from his hands and side that is
proof that Jesus was in fact human. In Gnosticism it was believed that the trinity was three hidden
spiritual realities. They tended to think in the form of good against bad with the spirit being good and
the physical being bad. It can be confusing ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem with the description from Apollonarius is that it implies that Jesus is just a flesh suit that
God is controlling like a puppet. To be fully human Jesus must possess not only a flesh body but also a
human mind and soul. Nestorius taught that Jesus was two persons with two natures. In our modern
definition this would be schizophrenic or twins. Nestorius viewed Jesus as God and man working
together but this goes against the idea that Jesus is God. It simply has Jesus just working with God.
Eutyches takes the approach of monophysitism and claims that Jesus has one nature because he
wanted to avoid separating Jesus into two different entities. His view makes Jesus a hybrid of God and
man. Finally to try and put an end to the debates the Council of Chalcedon was held in AD 451. They
set four parameters to define how the church understands Jesus that included Jesus as fully God, Jesus
as fully man, Jesus as one person, and Jesus having two natures. This was good because instead of the
focus being on what was wrong the parameters focused on what was right. The parameters also work
in harmony with the Biblical description of the TrinityAugustine s life pursuit was after pleasure and
delight. He was not only about seeking joy for himself but also for

Slavery And The American Dream
Slaves they are products of a lost mind and irresponsible love. Now when I say a slave I am not
talking about someone who is the property of someone else that must obey his or her every command.
I am talking about the slavery of the mind that has run like wild fire among the black community.
However sad it may be, our own kind are making their children into slaves. There are few things that
have had such an impact on making slaves as the topics that I am about to mention. Which all will
take place within a child s first five years of life So when the new media talks about all the mystics
about how blacks are thug and criminals what else do they aspect. You have taught a person to hate
every aspect of them and to shun other with like features and to strive for the American dream, by the
way the American dream is white. So there is no place for a black colored skin person too belong in
the American dream. Not allowing someone to have any place in this world forces them to come
crashing into life.
Because at the end of the day it is up to you and you only to make sure you don t die and survive. So
now that theory are not only slave black people in this world there are also educated blacks that are
compared to these and are given no hope by society, because of a person of the same skin type has all
ready ruined the image of their face to be positive. So when you ask a black person where his place is
in this society he has no answer because since he was young he was giving no

Women In A Tree Grows In Brooklyn
Women are very strong and passionate. As Beyonce once said, Who run the world? Girls! Her
statement is truer today, women drive the foundation of economics, business, government, etc. In the
early 1900 s, women were sent to the kitchen and the washrooms to slave over the male figurehead.
Betty Smith used A Tree Grows in Brooklyn to beat down the sexual stereotypes of the time. The male
leads in the novel were portrayed upon as weak and ignorant. Francie, Katie, and Sissy were all
forceful characters that steered the direction of the book. Throughout our reading of Books One, Two
and Three of the novel, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, the author, Betty Smith, is admired for her
portrayal of strong female characters, who overcome challenging situations ... Show more content on

One day, Francie and Neely spotted a tricycle on the street and became obsessed with it, Sissy decided
to borrow the bike and take the children on a joy ride. The owner of the tricycle called the police and
accused Sissy of stealing, which she was. The police officer sided with Sissy s claim of just wanting to
have a little fun because she was acting flirtatiously with him. Another instance of when Sissy was
trying to help her niece or nephew was when Francie was complaining about unfair treatment by her
teacher in school. Sissy marched down to the classroom and had a conversation with Miss Briggs. She
said to Miss Briggs, There s a little girl named Francie Nolan in your room... I happen to be her
mother... Did it ever occur to you that Francie s got a kidney problem? The doctor said that if she
wants to go and some people don t let her go, she s liable to drop right down dead from overloaded
kidneys. How would you like her drop dead right in your room? And how would you like to get a ride
to the station house in the pie wagon and stand up in front of this here door and the judge and say you
wouldn t let her leave the room? See that cop? That s my husband (p. 157). No matter how absurd the
claim was, Sissy was always willing to help out. Even though Sissy was lying, she had good intentions
and a sweet heart. Lastly, Sissy had always wanted to have a baby but constantly had pregnancy
complications. She found out that a woman named Lucia was being mistreated because her family did
not want her to go through with having a child. Sissy happily agreed to take the child after it was born.
Even though the situation was crazy for the time period, Sissy was aggressive and got what she had
always wanted. Sissy teaches the reader to be confident and forceful than good things will

Ordered soldiers to blend in
When tensions rose, they took out weapons, and many died
there was a false prophet in Samaria was to show the sacred vessels that were supposedly to have been
buried by Moses on Mt. Gerizim
Soldiers blocked the way, and a fight ensued
Prisoners were taken by Pilate and later executed
Due to amount of deaths Samaritan leaders went to Syria and complained.
This lead to the dismissal of Pilate.
Tradition has it that Pilate later commits suicide in disgrace
Pilate s life as a whole may be a mystery to many, but as seen today there are historical writings that
help us understand who Pilate was. Also seen today was the rocky relationship between the Jews and
Pilate. This gives un an interesting insight into the crucifixion. We know Pilate tried to please the
Jews, and we know that the religious leaders were not fond of him. Next week we will take a look at
the crucifixion, and the trial of Jesus. As noted earlier Pilate played a role in this, but how does his role
compare to Passover? Next week we will look into that, and I will show that Pilate s role is an
important one.

possible case of sexual assault on campus (B. Whitley, personal communications, April 24, 2017).
After she informed me of this, I decided to research the rape and sexual assault statistics that the
school is legally obligated to update each year. The statistics showed that in 2015 rape was reported
seven times on campus and 3 times in residential facilities (Annual Security Report..., 2016, pg. 41).
Dr. Candance Ashton The interview with Dr. Ashton gave to light a more academic point of view and

Ashton informed me that their department has a total of 43 years of experience in recreational therapy.
She even stated, We all LOVED working in RT (Recreational Therapy) (C. Ashton, personal

that class sizes range from 15 to 35 students and the faculty gets to know there students well because

  • 3. San Francisco Bay Case December 1968, two bodies of young teenagers were found at San Francisco Bay. The teenagers were one female and one male between the ages 16 and 17. They were found dead outside of their car when the crime scene unit arrived on the scene they examined the vehicle as well as the vicinity. All to no avail the crime seemed to be lacking a sexual component. Investigators assumed that the young couple were victims of robbery but that was not the case. All of their possessions including the money had been left untouched. Basically according to investigators the couple were victims of opportunity. Six months later in July of 1969 to couples pulled in a recreational area located 2 miles from the December killings in 1968 in Vallejo California. According ... The Federal Bureau of Investigation gradually began to construct a preliminary profile of who this person is. Enclosed in the envelope along with the taunt letters a piece of paper with, Greek signs, morse code as well series of letters from the english alphabet, each letter contained one third of a cryptogram. If the cipher was decoded according to the person writing the letters then his identity would be revealed. No one was able to decode it, no one not even the Central Intelligence Agency. After a lot work a High School teacher from Salinas California was able to crack it. In translation it said, I like killing people because it is so much fun. It is more fun than killing wild game in the forest because man is the most dangerous animal of all to kill. • 4. The Importance Of The Social Identity Of American Culture Since the dawn of mankind, society has proven subject to constant evolution, thus increasing the importance of the understanding of customs present worldwide, among such habits proving both the correlation and differentiation between each form of communication. An immense necessity under the intention of providing international peace, whilst simultaneously maintaining respect of cultural diversity, the ability to contribute amongst one another to the progression of civilization through minimal conflict has proven a possibility through the awareness of alterations between the social identity of others within the cultural spectrum. However, should misinterpretation result upon contrast between separate social dynamics, the expectation of unity may fail to prove synonymous with reality, thus creating the inability to decipher the exchange of ideas and the connection among others. Among each form of communication, the social values present within my family have led to the belief of having identified as direct in communication. Evident through the importance taught of honesty, I have proven similar in social dynamics to the vast majority of American culture, thus primarily remaining true to my personal opinion, the contextual circumstances present held in little regard. Unfortunately, despite the apparent benefits of such matters, I have failed to prove similar in customs in communication to those present among an English teacher of South Korean nationality. In ... • 5. The s Theory Of Entrepreneurship As one looks at the history of entrepreneurship, they will notice the variety of definitions and entrepreneurial elements that economists use to explain the topic. Although there are many vital parts of this concept, Israel Kirzner developed his own view that many economists take into account when creating their own definition. Basically, Kirzner s theory of entrepreneurship held the idea of alertness as its backbone. Without the use of alertness, entrepreneurs would never discover opportunities, which allows their competitors to easily surpass them. However, if the entrepreneur is alert, then they will notice an opportunity where innovation is needed and in return they will usually profit. When others analyzed Kirzner s theory, they criticized the amount of value that Kirzner put on alertness because they believed he lost sight of the creativity and the imagination aspect of entrepreneurship. After Kirzner developed his theory, years later an economist by the name of Frederic Sautet decided to elaborate more on Kirzner s concept. Basically, Sautet portrayed alertness as the central piece to his and Kirzner s view of an entrepreneur; however, he went into more depth in order to help silence Kirzner s critics. Sautet explains, It simply means that before one unleashes one s own creativity, imagination, and judgment, one has to come to recognize one s own creativity, imagination, and judgment (95). Sautet explains that Kirzner did not disregard creativity and imagination ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. The Absolute True Diary Of A Part Time Indian In Sherman Alexie s novel The Absolute True Diary of a Part Time Indian, Sherman uses Community and homing in ; Land and Nature ; and History to make the historical adolescent novel a part of American Indian literature. Community and homing in is used when Junior leaves the reservation for a better future, and in return the reservation resents Junior for leaving the reservation and becoming White washed . Alexie uses land and Nature to create liminal spaces when the protagonist of the story, Junior, feels conflict between the dominant race and that of the inferior. Afterwards, history is used by Sherman by showing generational references in order to provide the reader a point of view through the eyes of a young Native American boy from a reservation. When Junior decides to leave the school at the reservation for the school outside the reservation named, Reardan, the people of the reservation resent him for, but none affected him the most like the resentment from Junior s best friend, Rowdy. You ll never do it he said. you re too scared ... bang! Rowdy punched me ... I hit the ground ... My nose bled like a fire work (Alexie 51 52). Along with the passage there was an illustration to accompany the situation in the chapter, which read I hate you! You suck! You white lover! (53). • 7. Catholic Culture In the monograph entitled, Architects of Catholic Culture, Thomas Cook (2011) notes that there is a configuration of core beliefs and values that distinguish Catholicism from other Christian denominations. (p. 17). Among these beliefs is the attitude that community strengthens the individual s relationship with Jesus, and as such, it is an integral part of faith formation. Additionally, Gospel values inform the catechesis of elementary schools, which frequently include faith, service, courage, and social justice, among others. Significantly, faith is not static or unchanging. Faith must be known, celebrated, lived, and expressed in prayer. (United States Conference of Catholic, 2005). Therefore, effective catechesis relies on six elements that are fundamental to faith formation. Each element is an essential component. Initially, knowledge of the faith is acquired through an understanding of the scriptures as well as an understanding of church traditions. Additionally, an understanding of the liturgy and the sacraments is gained by participating in the Mass and in the reception of the sacraments. Further, moral formation is based on an understanding of Christ s moral message. Next, and fundamental to the Catholic identity is teaching students to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 8. College Essay On Peer Pressure Eyeballing the Gatorade bottle as it became full of smoke, I knew I had caved into peer pressure. Peer pressure can be a big obstacle for lots of teens. Although peer pressure can sometimes be a positive, it is often harmful and damaging. That type of negative influence from one s peers can lead them to try things they usually would have no interest in trying. When I was about to turn thirteen, I learned just how true my previous statement was. All it took for me to experience peer pressure for the first time was a couple of grams of marijuana. When I was younger, I would spend most of my summer nights playing video games with my friends. Most nights, you would find me with one friend in particular, and that friend was (at the time) sixteen year old Kevin Gomez. I would walk to Kevin s house since he lived a couple of minutes away from me. This night however, Kevin and I agreed to meet at his aunt s house due to her being on vacation. Sitting on his aunt s beige couches that had been wrapped in plastic, we had begun the night the exact way we had begun any other night, by playing video games. We were roughly an hour into our gaming session, when from the corner of my eye I spotted Kevin reaching for something from inside his right pocket. He pulled out what appeared to be a tiny plastic bag. The moment he opened the bag I knew exactly what he had brought with him. Instantly the smell of skunk had filled my nostrils. You tryna smoke? Kevin said as he set his PlayStation ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Follow this simple process to get your employees ready to deal with multiple emergency fire situations. These codes are set up by the NFPA and vary depending on the type of system and the situation you use. Inspect Your Exterior Doors for Damage In an emergency evacuation situation, you don t want poorly constructed or maintained exterior doors trapping your employees inside. Take a few minutes to inspect important aspects of the door, such as the hinges, the latch, and the knob. Questions to ask when inspecting your doors include: Do the hinges move easily or haltingly? Is there any catch in the latch or any trick you need to use to get it open? Does the door handle move easily or with difficulty? Is the door too heavy for weaker employees to move? Does it swing inward, potentially preventing people from escaping in a panic? If the answer to any of these questions is problematic, it may be time to either get your door repaired or replaced. After all, you don t want an inward swinging door dooming your employees to a death by fire. Bring It Together With a Fire Drill Conducting fire drills is the best way to check how prepared your employees are for an emergency. Never announce them before: unveiling them without warning will help make sure your employees know exactly what to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Blanch Dubois In A Streetcar Named Desire Ralph Waldo Emerson once ardently said, To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment. Blanche was the exact opposite of unique because she said certain things to be liked by others. She constantly attempted to portray herself to be perfect in the eyes of others to make herself feel more secure about her inner self. Making fabrications up to herself and to others allowed her to make life appear impeccable. Her fantasy began here, where she would purposely make people believe that she was a modest young woman. As time progressed, she met a guy named Mitch. Falling for her charm, Mitch was blinded by his love for Blanche and could not see past the real her. When Stanley confronted Mitch about Blanche s true identity, he denied it and called him a pretentious liar. All Mitch wanted was for Blanche to be his forever so he could not see past her deceits. Soon enough he started seeing Blanche s true colors, and he could finally confirm that what Stanley was trying to tell him was accurate. He no longer wanted to marry her because her past lies caught up to her. She could not hide her identity forever and the truth finally came out. Overall, reality overpowers fantasy but Williams shows that fantasy is still essential to Blanche s life. Blanche revisits her personal fantasies to protect herself from the real world. This insanity makes her capable of avoiding to accept reality. Escaping reality fully, Blanche has to manipulate the exterior world as what she perceives it to be. • 12. Ap Us History Dbq Analysis Throughout the American History, Americans had constantly settled on agreements on how slavery should be treated. In the early 19th century, the government had settled on compromises like the compromise of 1850 and the Missouri compromise. Which gave out a fair equivalence of opportunities and downgrades for each side, but by 1860 this had no longer seemed possible for each side, they constantly had conflicts that the South decided to separate. The reasons on which they decided to seperate were due to the country having different ideology views on slavery, to the government not taking action, and verbal/physical conflict. Many of my clients suffer from PTSD, Substance Use disorders, or other mood disorders. The majority of my clients are also middle aged men who politely refused any yoga activities. One client heard the choice, looked around my small office and shook his head grinning. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In the prior session, the client detailed his family relationships, legal issues, and discussed how his father played a role in his life. The activity was selected as a way to get the client to think about someone important in his life and then later process the information. The client was to listen to my prompt and imagine opening an envelope with a letter inside. He would open the envelope, read the letter and visualize the letter for a few moments. After reading the letter he was instructed to explain who the letter was from and what the letter said. I originally planned this activity thinking that the client would visualize his father writing him a letter but, I was mistaken. When I processed the activity, the client discussed how his mother wrote the letter and told him to behave and stay out of trouble. His mother has been a guiding force for the client throughout his life and the client felt guilty that she was suffering with cancer while he was locked up for many years. The client, to this day, cannot visit her until his charges are settled or dropped. Utilizing this activity was a quick and easy way to assess where the client s thought process was during our session. I was able to gather more data about his family life and later connect it to his PTSD diagnosis. I consider this activity a success because I was able to obtain more and better data about the client s life and his current thoughts and emotions regarding his ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The company was experiencing losses, the debt to equity ratio was out of control, and the company had positioned itself in so many diverse markets that most of the employees had no idea what the company mission and goals were. When David Simon took over as CEO, he was faced with the daunting task of turning the wayward company around. The drive Simon possessed was magnified through his years of school and his progression through the company. The case illustrates Simon s drive with the story of him being told by a teacher that he should go into industry. She was implying he was not an intellectual but this criticism only fueled his drive. These are just a few of the characteristics Simon possessed in addition to being a good communicator and being able to inspire trust. In addition to possessing these leadership skills, Simon also possessed the skills necessary to motivate his employees to perform at their highest capacity. A recurring employee complaint was the ambiguous nature of company goals. The case tells us that in order to alleviate this, Simon set simple goals which were achievable in the short term so that employees could see their progress. Not only was this a way to enhance employees commitment to goals but it also helped reward the employees in timely manner. Simon also had the ability to empower his employees to achieve as he was described as having a sophisticated and unique talent for guiding people without them really knowing he is doing it (Davidson). All of the examples mentioned above worked well for Simon because he was able to excite employees and get them all working toward the same goal. By doing this he changed the culture of BP and in time improved overall company performance. Although Simon did great things for BP, his approach was not without flaw. One ... Inquisitor By Bernard Shaw Inquisitor Analysis In the Inquisitor, by George Bernard Shaw argues that Joan should be charged with death due to heresy because if the church doesn t, the church will be destroyed because heresy is worse than anything else. Shaw uses ethical appeal, analogy, and emotional appeal to make the audience feel ashamed if they don t burn her for her crime. First, Shaw argues that heresy is a very serious issue that causes damage. He states, If you had seen what I have seen of heresy, you would not think of it a light thing even in its most apparently harmless and even lovable and pious origin. Shaw uses emotional appeal in referring to how we must see heresy in the same light as him. He feels as if it is one of the worst crimes one could commit due to the damage it causes in society and the church. Hersey brings out the wickedness out of people and goes against how one must live. Although the Advert did cost a huge amount of money that is nothing compared to the £157.8 million revenue they made last year. Assess The Causes And Consequences Of The Civil War Assess the causes and consequences of the civil war (49 45) in this period Civil war Argument in topic sentence The Roman Republic was a system of procedures formed by tradition; there was no written constitution or legally binding legislation. Precedent and consensus set procedure creating the parameters for acceptable behaviour. However, it was near the end of the 2nd century BC, where the system began to deteriorate and fall, ultimately causing the civil war in 49 BC. The boundaries of acceptable behaviour were stretched by politicians such as Caesar and Pompey and as a result new perilous precedents were set. Violence along with the use of an army became a political tool in the domestic, political sphere. The civil war laid on the foundations that constitutional methods proved ineffective in the face of an inadequate aristocratic government and therefore Caesar and the senate lead by Pompey used violence and rebellion against each other in an attempt to stabilise the administrative system of government and essentially control Rome. Caesar himself ignited the civil war as a result of the unstable Roman Republic, major events such as rebellion and revolts, senate and the political sphere and the breakdown of the triumvirate, which fuelled the motive for civil war. The corrupted Roman system alongside with personal issues and disagreements became the catalyst for the civil war of 49 BC and consequently set the parameters for the new dictatorial Roman world. • 20. The Role Of The Hero In Paradise Lost Critics abroad have argued about who the hero is of John Milton s Paradise Lost: Satan, Adam or Christ, the Son? Since Milton s overall theme stated in the opening lines of Book I is to relate Man s first disobedience and to justify the ways of God to men , Adam must be regarded as the main hero. John M. Steadman supports this view in an essay on Paradise Lost: It is Adam s action which constitutes the argument of the epic. Steadman continues: The Son and Satan embody heroic archetypes and that, through the interplay of the infernal and celestial strategies, Milton represents Satan s plot against man and Christ s resolution to save him as heroic enterprises. Christ and Satan are therefore epic machines. (268 272) Although Satan may be an epic machine, he is best portrayed as the tragic anti hero of Paradise Lost or, at the very least, a main character who possesses the stature and attributes which enable him to achieve tragic status. In the Greek tradition, the essential components of tragedy are admiration, fear and pity for the hero , who has to display a tragic weakness or flaw in his character, which will lead to his downfall. It might be argued that the flaws in Satan s character are such that we should feel no admiration, fear or pity for him, yet he can be seen to inspire these emotions. Satan s tragic flaws are pointed out in Book I. They are envy, pride, and ambition towards self glorification. Satan s pride, in particular, is stressed throughout ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Docetism treats John 1:14 as figurative where it states that the Word was made flesh. Part of their reasoning for this belief can be attributed to the view of flesh as sinful which would result as a problem for God, who is divine, to become imprisoned inside. However, Jesus was nailed to a cross and real blood flowed from his hands and side that is proof that Jesus was in fact human. The problem with the description from Apollonarius is that it implies that Jesus is just a flesh suit that God is controlling like a puppet. To be fully human Jesus must possess not only a flesh body but also a human mind and soul. Nestorius taught that Jesus was two persons with two natures. In our modern definition this would be schizophrenic or twins. Nestorius viewed Jesus as God and man working together but this goes against the idea that Jesus is God. It simply has Jesus just working with God. Eutyches takes the approach of monophysitism and claims that Jesus has one nature because he wanted to avoid separating Jesus into two different entities. His view makes Jesus a hybrid of God and man. Finally to try and put an end to the debates the Council of Chalcedon was held in AD 451. They set four parameters to define how the church understands Jesus that included Jesus as fully God, Jesus as fully man, Jesus as one person, and Jesus having two natures.
