Road To El Dorado Analysis
Road to El Dorado
The movie I watched was the Road to El Dorado. The directors of this movie are Eric Bibo Bergeron,
Don Paul, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Will Finn, and David Silverman. The top three actors of this film are
Kevin Kline as Tulio, Kenneth Branagh as Miguel, and Rosie Perez who plays the voice of Chel. Road
to El Dorado was produced in 2000 by Dreamworks Animation. It includes subtitles and is in color.
The movie is also now available to watch on Netflix which is where I watched it. Two con artist Tulio
and Miguel leave Spain as stowaways on Cortes s ship in 1519 that is headed to Mexico with a special
map. The map is supposed to lead to a city of gold, but when they reach the city things aren t what
they expect. While the two convince the people that they are gods they meet a girl name Chel who
knows their true identity and helps with with their con for a share of their gold. However, Chel
becomes more than an accomplice to Tulio, and Miguel is, you know, Miguel. Then things start to get
messy when Tzekel Kan tries to expose who the are to the people of El Dorado. As the men try to stop
him by impressing the crowd they also ask if the people can build them a boat home. Things work out
until Tzekel Kan ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The plot was too fast, I mean they were barely in Spain before they hopped on a ship to Mexico and
the audience barely got to know them in the beginning. The protagonist are not the typical heroes, they
are more of the we re heroes, but we really aren t, but oh hey! look we actually are style. For the most
part the climax and ending were logical. Yes, I would recommend it to a friend because the movie is
funny and very bright and colorful. No, any questions I had weren t answered, one because I didn t
have any, and two because there were not many historical accuracies in the movie that could help
answer them if I

Abstract:
Technology has had and imperative influence in almost every aspect of life. It has also made an
impact on how we learn today. Some question how effective learning could be via the internet, while
most stick with the familiarity of traditional classroom learning. Either option you choose still
substantiates that technology has changed the way we learn and will continue to expand on its
influences with the ways we choose to progress educationally. Each educational platform has it
disadvantages, however the advantages pose alternatives that can suit an individual s educational
needs.
With technology influencing almost every aspect of common activities, it s not unusual for it to
influence the way we learn. The traditional classroom environment is being challenged with the
implementation of online learning. With major technological advances over the last 20 years, many
traditional classroom environments have been replaced with online learning platforms that create
convenient, accelerated, and comprehensive learning opportunities around the world. Although some
would beg the differ that online learning can replace classroom education completely, online education
continues to improve allowing it to become a more trustworthy alternative for learning. Since the
traditional classroom environment pacifies familiarity in education some opt for

Social Anxiety Treatments
Not many people know a lot about social anxiety and what treatments are available. In Social Anxiety
Disorder (Social Phobia), S. Seedat informs us, Rates of social anxiety disorder (SAD) or social
phobia range from 3% to 16% in the general population (192). It s difficult to notice people who suffer
social anxiety and it is, especially difficult to overcome it without having knowledge of what social
anxiety is and what treatments are available.
In Shyness and Social Phobia, Joseph Walsh explains social anxiety is an extreme or irrational fear of
being judged by or interacting with others socially. A common fear for people who suffer social
anxiety is interacting with those with authority such as teachers, police officers, or managers. To be
more exact, in Social Anxiety Disorder: Much More Than ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

understand others who suffer social anxiety and for people who have social anxiety know what they
feel comfortable doing. Also not many people seek help due to their fears. Shields states, Because of
their extreme social fears, people may be reluctant or embarrassed to discuss their symptoms with a
health care professional; in fact, the effort of contacting and meeting such a professional face to face
may be extremely difficult for someone with social anxiety disorder (27). So if someone you know

Church History Chapter 4
For the same Church
Through reading the chapter 4 of the book Church History , written by Kevin Hughes, I find the
connection between the Luther s Conflict with Catholic opponents and the definition of the Church. In
other words, although the traditional Catholic theologians and Luther have different views about the if
a human could follow Gospel perfectly, they were still a unity that gathered by God to form the
Church, and both of them were doing their best to teach the Holy Spirit of God to other citizens.
Arguing the sense of human sinfulness, Christians could better ways to bring Jesus Holy and love to
others. Moreover, the deeper understanding of sins could save from people from the suffering of
further sins. For example, between 1517 and 1520, Luther wrote thirty works about his theology ideas
and sold more than 300,000 copies total. It gives many people a completely new view about human
sins.
Sins of human ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In other words, when people deeply understand the righteousness of God, they would find that it is
impossible for human beings to keep themselves completely away from the sins, even the pope and
saints would make mistakes. However, the Church did help people to make connection with the Holy
Spirit and prevent the further sins. For example, the Christ had bequeathed the spirit to the Church,
and the Spirit preserved the Church from error. The Church couldn t directly teach the Holy Spirit to
believers, but it could provide them a connection with God and the Holy Spirit. As a result, under God
s great love, those sins are still forgivable. It is the point of view that I never thought

Wireless Deployment Plan
Wireless Deployment Plan Overview
The wireless deployment plan overview is to list out the requirements for the deployment of a wireless
infrastructure to a multi building campus for an education Institute. This campus has a single campus
but has many other buildings that are part of this one campus. There will be several lands inside of this
network and connecting them together we ll make this a win however when it comes to Camp assist it
is called a can which stands for campus area network. There are many aspects to a wireless
deployment phase and in the institution of a open network for the campus there has to be something
put in place to cover every area and to be able to give the students the connection that they properly
need. The network ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Because this is going to incorporate a whole campus there will be a wireless receiver at the top of
every building. However we will have them all in together so that way they work as one and a student
will be able to access any of them from any location and allow them to transition from one to another
with ease. We will also incorporate a repeater on the bottom floor to allow for full building coverage
and to extend the network throughout the campus itself. The Only Exception will be for the library
and in the library we will have a strict Network that will allow for the students to be able to access
specific training material and the library s internal architecture. The equipment itself will be a very
good Mount of switches and routers to allow for easy authentication and access. The equipment will
be scattered throughout each building and we will ensure that there is proper coverage of the wireless
network and proper capability of the staff meeting to be able to handle the amount of devices inside of

Factors That Led To The Prosperity Of The 1920 s
The prosperity of the 1920 s had everyone believing that their success will last forever. The
industrialization era and advancement of technology and the development of the entertainment
industry led to the unending prosperity theme of the 1920, however it came to its demise when
corrupting greed tainted it. The development of the new industry bloomed due to manufacturing of
automobiles creating more jobs for Americans. It became the greatest social and economical impact
that created the assembly line making it easier to gain more mass production. More industries took

almost every American was purchasing and driving making traveling easier for families to get closer.

Pre-Political Dissent
Tumultuous Rock: the Culture of Dissent in the Music of Communist Czechoslovakia
One of the highest aims of art is the creation of unrest Ivan Jirous
Longhairs, punkers, and the musical underground. In soviet Czechoslovakia, all of these groups were
part of a cultural revolution of rejecting societal norms and a movement of pre political dissent. Music
is an emotive response to dissent, a form that is more of a way of being than just ideological. The
musical underground allowed citizens of Czechoslovakia to create a counterculture movement without
being inherently political. These people purely wanted the freedom to express themselves and this idea
of pre political dissent was exemplified through the subculture of rock and punk music. ... Show more

Before the onset of normalization, rock music was not as regulated and often had public spaces for
musicians to play their music such as the Big Beat festivals. However after normalization, many of
these festivals were shut down, venues were scarce and bands had to requalify to the regime to be
allowed to play their music. Bands such as the famous Plastic People of the Universe were one of the
many trying to requalify. The problem was that many of the requirements of the regime in order to be
an official band was that you could not have an English band name. The Plastic People of The
Universe did not fit that description. The band name itself was almost seen as a dissent point for the
band, as they are named after a Frank Zappa song about the exasperation with phonies and hypocrites
of the system. The consequences of the Plastics not becoming an official band seemed at first to set
them back, as they had to return a lot of their government owned equipment and were not allowed to
release their songs. However, they soon discovered the musical underground and filled the void that
was left by the disbanding of The Primitives, and started to find their own space. A turning point for
the band was when Ivan Jirous aka Magor became their band manager. Jirous was a cultural dissident,
a friend of Vaclav Havel, and was extremely involved with the political sides of dissent of the time.
Jirous influenced the Plastics to become more inherently political with their music as they started to
take poetry from Egon Bondy and set it to music and to play their music in Czech and not English.
Another turning point in the history of the Plastics and the underground was the Budějovická massacre
on March 30th 1974. A country side concert turned police brutality, the police brutalized hundreds of
Czech youth who were there to see underground bands such as the

My Reflection Of My Experience In The Courtroom
For me, attending the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse was the first experience I ve had in a physical
court room. From the moment I arrived, I felt fairly overwhelmed with so many court rooms and cases
being heard that day. I decided to go to the fifth floor, where felony cases were being heard, and I
thought it would be fairly exciting getting to hear felony cases compared to misdemeanors. My
expectations before going were mostly based on shows such as Law and Order, in which the whole
hour is spent hearing one specific case. But in reality, the proceedings were far different from what I
expected. When I arrived in the court room, the case of People v. Larry Sanchez was being discussed.
Mr. Sanchez, was not only in handcuffs, but also wearing a correctional facilities green jumpsuit.
Those simple facts led me to expect a lot of action, but after a few minutes I noticed that it was simply
an arraignment in which the judge accepted the defendant s petition for plea bargain. I thought it was
very interesting observing the side of the defendant, since the defense attorneys were public defenders.
Seeing them have a different client every few minutes and having to know everything about their
respective cases was very impressive. Meanwhile, representing the people on the side of the
prosecution for every case were two attorneys. Neither of the attorneys seemed to do much beside
state the facts of each case against the defendants. The judge seemed to do a very good job and one

Film Analysis Of The Film Groundhog Day
Title: Groundhog Day Film analysis
The film Groundhog Day is about a local weather man Phil, that travels to Punxsutawney,
Pennsylvania for a news coverage of the holiday Groundhog Day. Phil finds himself in a time warp
reliving the events of groundhog over and over. In the beginning Phil spends each day focused on sex
and money as the movie progress Phil finds himself spending every waking moment trying to impress
his producer Rita. When that ends in failure Phil starts to care for the people around town doing
anything possible to make their lives better, from saving lives to changing tires. In the end Rita falls in
love with the true Phil Connor and the time warp ends. Throughout the film Phil comes to terms to
who is he really is. He finds Authenticity and no longer struggles with self identity.
Phil no longer had responsibilities in life he learned early on that no one would remember anything
but him, that no matter what he did he would still wake up on February 2nd at 6:00am. This lead Phil
to do outrages this suck as steal money and drive on railroad trucks not caring about his life and who
he was. Jean Paul Sartre said, Life has no meaning the moment you lose the illusion of being eternal.
Life had no meaning to Phil once he knew he would be stuck living the same day. When Phil didn t
live for himself life becomes dull, boring and lonely, he had to deal with the consequences of this
inauthenticity. Phil came to realization that if he could not change his life today maybe he could
change other s.
In the beginning Phil lived life inauthentically, he lived for society and followed what society thought
had power. Phil did not change in a second even his first few days experiencing Groundhog Day over
and over he still lived for society. Phil went out of his way to flaunt his money and make advances to
sleep with women, two things in society s view men must have to be liked or have power. When Phil
begins to realize this, he becomes lonely and commits suicide everyday knowing he still must relive
Groundhog Day, instead of living a miserable life Phil decides to do good deeds from changing tires to
saving lives. He began to have good faith, he became authentic. He lived for himself not society he

The International Covenant On Civil And Political Rights
Section 3 Article 9 of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights
This article ensures the prohibition on arbitrary arrest and detention. It has been a long common
method to deprive a person of his liberty by imprisoning. The deprivation of liberty is used as
preventive measure for further offences occurring, flight or interference with material facts or
witnesses in order to fight crime and maintain internal security. Such a measure should only be
allowed if used when necessary because deprivation of personal liberty places the person affected in a
vulnerable position because he could be subjected to torture and inhuman and/or degrading treatment.
Everyone has the right to liberty and security of person , article 9(1) . The terms liberty of person
means that this provision only applies to the aspect of human liberty. Also, only in specific places can
the deprivation of liberty take place such as a prison, psychiatric facility, a re education, concentration
or work camp, or a detoxification facility for alcoholics or drug addicts and a house arrest . If the
deprivation of liberty is less severe like in a domicile or residency, an exile, a confinement to an island
or expulsion from a state territory it is within the scope of articles 12 and 13 of the International
Covenant on Civil and Political Rights .
The deprivation of liberty is not a contested measure in itself but if it arbitrary and unlawful it is not
acceptable. Every country have had problems

The first criteria, being exposed to actual or threatened death is met by Rod s combat deployment to
Afghanistan and witnessing battle buddies die as well as the shooting of the boy. The second criteria,
intrusive symptoms, is met by Rod s flashbacks and constant nightmares. The third criteria, avoidance
of trauma related stimuli, is met because Rod is constantly avoiding his son as he is reminded of the
boy that he shot. The fourth criteria, negative alterations in cognitions and mood, is met by feeling
guilty and blaming himself for the death of the young boy as well as being detached from his family
(APA, 2013). Finally, the fifth criteria is met because the client is experiencing irritability and angry
outbursts towards his wife and son with little or no provocation. With this information, it is

Treatment Plan Compared to both pharmaceuticals and other forms of psychotherapy, EMDR has
proven to be effective in the treatment of PTSD (Shapiro, 2002). There have been approximately
twenty controlled studies that proved this (Shapiro, Laliotis, 2010). EMDR has been recommended as

Global Chocolate Shortage Essay
Global chocolate shortages coming, what will need to be done about alternatives and economic
effects?
The situation of global chocolate always causes wide attention since 2007. As could be seen in figure
1 and 2, it seems that the situation of chocolate shortages is a recent problem. The peak of this trend
showed in November 2014. According to Walters (2015, p.4), chocolate shortage is happened all over
the world. It is believed that this situation might get worse by chocolate makers. It was predicted that
the deficit of chocolate could attain more than a million tons in 2020. The shortages of global
chocolate could causes lager effects in many fields such as social, economic and food industrial field
because chocolate is a very popular food or raw material. In this report, some results would be
enumerated and compared by the empirical evidences to discuss what would need to be done for
facing global chocolate shortages. The discussion consisted by factors of reasons, the economic effects
and some alternatives of chocolate.
Firstly, the major reasons of global chocolate shortages are cocoa shortages and over consumption. It
has a close relationship between them that cocoa bean is a basis of chocolate. Climate changes and
pestilence in Africa which is a chief producer, was culprit. It needs about two to five years to get new
cacao tress to produce new cocoa beans. It even needs to take 10 years to reveal traits worth
preserving (Harris 2014). Walters (2015, p.4) also holds

Health Care Policy Debate
In this paper will discuss the health care policy debate by explaining the current health policy debate
regarding the Affordable Care Act. This paper will showcase the values, markets, and morals as well
as the fairness and availability of care. It will look at who wins and who loses and discuss equity,
efficiency, and effectiveness. Lastly, this paper will show my own experiences and opinions of the
healthcare debate and where I stand on the subject. The Affordable Care Act (ACA) was enacted in
March 2010 the purpose of the act is to help uninsured individuals attain healthcare coverage at a
reasonable price. Critics of the ACA have resurrected doubts about its cost containment measures and
overall fiscal impact. (Orszag Emanuel 2010) Values in Health Policy When looking at the value of
health care policies we have to look at fairness and efficiency, the term efficiency wears a lot of caps,
generally when efficiency suites one person it impacts the other person. One example is a cost analysis
that was done on how much time it took for new patients to be treated at my current employer. They
looked at how much time was used for each portion of the appointment. The results revealed that if the
appointment time were shortened by ten minutes the facility would show a better profit because more
patients would be seen. However, this frustrated the patients and families because they were being
rushed through their appointments and the patient satisfaction scores were

When Jesus Came The Corn Mother Went Away Analysis
It is no surprise that the discoverers of the New World are portrayed, through media outlets and taught
during early education, to be frontiers who found America spoiled with treasures and met the
indigenous people with curiosity and tolerance; for if history was broadcasted as it actually occurred,
the horrors would be enough to send chills down the spines of even those with the thickest skin.
Ramon Gutierrez, in his book When Jesus Came, the Corn Mother Went Away, maintains that the
Spaniards came to America with one purpose in mind: to seize, dominate, and conquer by any means
necessary; and the tactics, were that of subjugating, raping, and enslaving Native American women

Therefore, honor and shame go hand in hand: men were honorable if they esteemed honesty and

to possess shame the female version of honor she had to be sexually pure and [display] the utmost

because village gossip was always a powerful force in the regulation of social behavior (223). Fathers,

different households. Each household had its own dominate parenting style, however most of my life I
was raised by my mother, so I ll focus on her parenting style. As I stated above, I believe parents use
almost all the parenting styles in dealing with different situations. My mother was no exception to this.
She could go from authoritarian to permissive without even blinking an eye, which is why I was

Overall, my mother was distant and didn t expect much from my siblings and me. An example of this
parenting style would be when I found out I had received a scholarship from the Heartland
Foundation. When my mother found out she went on multiple social media sites to tell everyone the
good news, but she did not contact me at all. I ended up asking her to be my plus one to the
scholarship dinner; I guess I m still stuck in the loop of trying to make her proud. On the way to the
dinner the car was filled with silence. No congratulations. No I m proud of you moments. Just heavy
silence. At the dinner we spoke maybe twenty words to each other. Most of these words were
commenting on how nice the Bone Student Center looked and how delicious the meal was. When the
dinner ended, my mother drove me back home and said goodbye. No I love you . Nothing but
goodbye. Another example of my mother s disengagement would be when my sister was suspended
multiple times and almost expelled. My sister tried to find attention from other people since she was
receiving none at home. Her way of gaining this attention was getting into fights, and sadly, it worked.
It took three incidents to gain the attention of my mother, and this only gained her attention because
she received three different tickets for the fighting from the police

Nuclear Deterrence During The Cold War
Nuclear deterrence was a key component of American security during the Cold War. The nuclear
stockpiles accumulated by the United States and Soviet Union throughout this time period produced a
situation of mutual deterrence. The catastrophic risks of a nuclear strike kept the countries from all out
war. In the aftermath of the Cold War, both the U.S. and Soviet Union took steps to reduce their
nuclear arsenal, first in the Intermediate Range Nuclear Treaty (INF) then with START I (Pifer, Bush,

Physical Therapy For Huntington s Disease

Without physical therapy, there would not be as much positivity for Huntington s patients and would
be harder to live with this disease. However, there are other ways to help treat patients with
Huntington s such as using certain medications or drugs to decrease the progress of Huntington s.
Drugs that are used to help treat this disease include tetrabenazine, antipsychotic medication, and
benzodiazepines. These medications help to restrain the symptoms of involuntary movements from
this disease. The tetrabenazine medication assists in decreasing the amount of dopamine in the body to
extend to nerve cells within the brain, since this disease affects a part of the brain. It is widely used to
help treat Huntington s disease since it does help decrease the involuntary movements that the body
can have. Tetrabenazine has side effects of sedation, hypertonia, muscle rigidity, depression,
bradykinesia, restlessness, drowsiness and akathisia. (n.a. Tetrabenazine Side Effects in Detail; n.d.)
Benzodiazepine medication is used because it can help relieve irritability, reduce anxiety, muscle
relaxer, to treat seizures, and help with memory loss, which are some symptoms of Huntington s.
(Anderson. L., Benzodiazepines: Overview and Use. N.p.; 2014.) This medication is also a class of
psychoactive drugs that also helps stop a neurotransmitter known as GABA from reaching the GABA
receptor. GABA is a neurotransmitter that affects the central nervous system by restraining nerve
transportation to the brain and therefore calms nerve activity. This neurotransmitter being prevented
from reaching its receptor would help to decrease nerve activity which would be good for people who
have Huntington s disease because they have trouble controlling movements within the body.
Benzodiazepine would be a supplement because it helps reduce the GABA from reaching its receptor.

child and second son of Gloucester, Edmund was not to inherit any of his father s wealth due to the
societal normalities of the time. Edmund rightfully found fault in this and argued that he should
receive his father s wealth as he possess better qualities than Gloucester s legitimate son Edgar and
hence was more deserving of his father s inheritance. Edmund would go on to express this frustration
with a quote from one of his most famous soliloquies Why bastard ? Wherefore base ? When my

treatment of him control his live and decides to be proactive by taking control of his destiny and
therefore changing his fate. Edmund would go on to manipulate both his father Gloucester and his
brother Edgar by turning them against each other. Edmunds manipulation would lead to Edgar running
away in fear that Gloucester would murder him as well as Gloucester pledging his inheritance to
Edmund. As a result of Edmund s manipulation, Edmund went on to change his fate in remarkable
fashion. He defied societal normalities and went from a bastard with nothing to his name to being the

The Role And Development Of Gender Stereotypes In Society
There is no doubt that gender stereotypes have been a common practice throughout time. In most
societies, women have had the disadvantage when compared to the almighty male. The responsibility
of each sex has been delegated by physical and social means. Throughout history, females largely
played the lesser of gender roles, but certain criteria of specific aspects of male expectations can
negatively harm the psyche and physique. Due to social conditioning, male s willingness to cry is
heavily impacted because expressing emotion similar to a female is criticized by social normality s.
On a molecular level, men acquire the hormone, testosterone, which makes them physically superior
to females. Testosterone is the, hormone responsible for male secondary sex characteristics such as
beard, body build, and voice, and aggression ( Male Sex Hormones and Aggression to Be Studied.
224). In a nomadic culture, strength is crucial to survival, thus the development of gender stereotypes.
Due to the fact that men have more testosterone than women, their responsibility was to hunt game
and offer protection for their people. However women, produce estrogen. Estrogen is a hormone
released that causes secondary sex characteristic in women (Shirtcliff). Women fulfilled the position
as a home
maker . Considering the physical aspects of both genders, men held the dominant roll in
society.

My First Year As A Biomedical Engineering Technician

my remaining time onboard. Upon graduating from BMET school located in Ft. Sam Houston, I was

The Tea Of Tea Masters
In Japan, much of the art that is popular today has been made popular by the endorsement that tea
masters have given it. Tea masters are highly regarded in Japan and they have a large influence on
what becomes popular and what is remembered. A tea master may say that a piece of art has
significance and their word means a great deal. The Tea Ceremony, also known as chanoyu, has long
been a tradition in the Japanese culture. It is defined as a ritualized, secular practice in which tea is
consumed in a specialized space with a codified procedure. It is an elaborate ceremony that has been
performed since the Edo Period in the seventeenth century. It is related to both the Samurai culture
and Zen Buddhism. Tea schools exist to teach the ways of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

whisk is used to whisk the thick tea. Once the tea is prepared then the bowl is placed facing the guests.
The first guests picks up the bowl and the linen cloth and takes a sip from the bowl. The guest
expresses their pleasure in the tea and continues to drink until they have taken their designated amount

Missile Crisis
Imagine being in grade school and having your teacher yell instructions to hide under your desk
because of a possible missile attack, not knowing if you ll see tomorrow. This possible scenario is
what children feared in late 1962. The uncertainty of life during this time and the actions taken by
teachers and students intrigue me, like how they thought that a thin piece of wood and metal would
save them from an atomic missile. In reality, nothing, including themselves, would be left standing.
In October 1962, off the coast of Florida in the cold waters of the Atlantic Ocean sailed the navy ships
of the Soviet Union and the United States. With the two mightiest nations on Earth facing each other,
World War III was on the brink of happening. With missiles in Cuba secretly provided by the Soviet
Union and discovered by in a photo from a United States satellite, the world was on the edge to see
who blinked first. As this was happening the citizens of the U.S. were taking actions. At every school
students had to do drills in case of an attack. Sometimes teachers would randomly yell, Drop! and the
kids would get on their hands and knees under the desks. They didn t tell us why they only told us to

The Process Of Management By Exception
So, the process of management by exception is essentially about ensuring the management focuses on
the policy strategies and decisions, getting involved with the day to day activities only when large
deviations occur. What about the principles? What are some of the core characteristics you need to
ensure are in place for the system to work?
A systematic approach
Management by exception requires a systematic approach to work. What this means in practice is that
all the operational needs and requirements of the organisation must be properly understood and
outline. Essentially, the organisation must be aware of everything going on and have a clear set of
standards it follows. Management by exceptions cannot be achieved without a proper set of standards
and procedures. Quite simply, you can t notice deviations, if you don t even know what the standard or
the so called norm looks like.
The framework requires a rather meticulous approach to implementation. In order to establish a
systematic approach and guarantee positive results, your should take the following steps:
Analyse operational needs and requirements, as well as data.
Create and maintain a set of policy standards.
Collect, classify, draft and interpret reports.
Make decisions based on the pre determined requirements.
If you have a set of goals for the management style, you focus on determining the deviations your
organisation should be alarmed by, and you establish a routine for collecting and analysing data,

Tao Te Ching Analysis
Tao Te Ching: A Self Help Book for Americans There is no question that America is one of the most
self centered countries in the world, and because of this, we tend to avoid situations and issues that
have no immediate impact on us. Desensitization on this large of a scale can be dangerous, and it is
imperative that we begin to relearn traits such as kindness and compassion. The Tao Te Ching, while
not very familiar to the average westerner, is filled with numerous verses that speak directly about the
negative aspects of American culture and how we should be behaving. While the news spouts horror
stories daily about the terrible events in the world, remembering the teachings of the Tao can help to
alter our actions in the future. Some of the most monumental lessons from the Tao are those that seek
to correct greed, grow trust, and enforce peace, and from them we can learn how to improve western
culture with compassion and respect. Verse 3 of the Tao begins with a very simple statement, but it is
one that many Americans would have trouble following: Don t glorify heroes (3). Our entire
entertainment system is based on celebrities and elevating people for their accomplishments, no matter
how trivial they may be. Hollywood likes to take small events, or people, and blow them up larger
than life and milk them for all they re worth, until something better comes along. This is painfully
obvious in many of today s celebrities, especially the Kardashian family. Famous for being

Social Control through Works of Fiction
Vampire stories have universal themes that provide the backbone for every dark tale. The unholy
essence that any vampire story provides sets the stage for the message that the Church is the way of
life and will save you from creatures of evil. From in class readings, we can see all the major religious
themes of the classic vampire story. The common religious theme is the abscess of light is the absence
of holiness and is the path to eternal damnation. Darkness is the prime universal fear of humanity
mostly because we, as a species, are not nocturnal creatures; therefore, we have developed a fear of
the predator filled darkness of night. Using figurative descriptions of darkness as the enemy, the
Church preaches the way of the light. The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The cross burned into his flesh like a hot coal. He snatched back his hand but the burning metal clung.
He felt the heat of it coursing up his arm, and hurled it savagely across the room (Miller). This burning
sensation that the cross gives vampires is the Churches connection and reminder that someone or
something that does not follow the way of the cross will be burned eternally in Hell. Vampire
protection is the Church s way of creating fear that will ultimately lead to the fearful turning back to
the Church for protection and guidance. With the turn of sexual culture in the Victorian Era, Church
leaders needed to establish a way to regain a tight grip on society as a whole.
Comparable themes in vampire stories and Biblical stories are evident within the class readings. The
story of Shambleau by Catherine L. Moore begins with a mob on the hunt for a creature by the name

giving Shambleau up to the crowd. This confrontation of an angry crowd show striking resemblance

Tattoos Are A Symbol Of Sexual And Bodily Freedom
The practice of tattooing has been used around the globe for ages, particularly in tribal societies.
However, there has been an increase in this type of body art in Western society over the last century,
regardless of its savage like connotations. Tattoos are viewed by many women as a symbol of control
over their bodies, which challenges their historically rooted dependence on men. In this paper, I will
argue that although tattoos are a symbol of sexual and bodily freedom for many women, men often
interpret this symbolism to mean not simply that women have freedom to make decisions about their
bodies, but that women will be promiscuous in their decision making. This interpretation affects
interactions and perpetuates stereotypes about tattoos on women s bodies. In Western society, research
shows that men are sensitive to a range of physical cues in women, such as a low waist to hip ratio,
larger breasts, effective cosmetics use, revealing clothing, and even wearing the color red signals
sexual receptivity (Mehta, Psychology Today). Tattoos are yet another physical cue. Men and women
realize the symbolism of sexual and bodily freedom that tattoos portray, but for some reason men
think tattooed women will be promiscuous in their decision making. I will begin by offering reasons
for this promiscuous stereotype s development in Western society, followed by its effects on male
female interactions and finally some insight on stereotype reinforcement. In Christine

National Intelligence Analysis
National Intelligence Analysis et al. (2010) claim that in the early 2000s, Canada s heroin market was
controlled by South and Southwest Asia, and these regions took Southeast Asia s place. Since 2004,
heroin seizures have been increasing even though heroin is allegedly one of the least commonly used
illicit drugs in Canada (NIA et al., 2010). Asian, Latin American, and West African organized crime
groups, functioning in Canada as well as in foreign countries, remained to be participants in
smuggling and transporting heroin in Canada (NIA et al., 2010). That is not to say that Canadian
organized crime groups were not participants in the heroin market; Canadian organized crime groups
took part in the heroin trade as well (NIA et al., 2010). ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
National Intelligence Analysis et al. (2010) maintain that in 2009, fake versions of OxyContin and
erectile dysfunction drugs were smuggled into Canada from foreign countries, but despite that,
domestic production continued to increase. Aside from anabolic steroids and anaesthetics, the majority
of prescription drugs entering the illicit drug trade were acquired from the medical system (NIA et al.,
2010). The smuggling of prescription drugs through the Canada US border continued, although it
typically involved small amounts (NIA et al., 2010). According to National Intelligence Analysis et al.
(2010), the illicit use of oxycodone and oxycodone trafficking have increased in Canada, which is
demonstrated by an increasing amount of seizures and investigative methods, as well as in the rising
number of casualties caused by oxycodone use. The heightened amount of fake OxyContin versions in
Western and Eastern Canada suggest that criminal organizations may be becoming more involved in
the illicit trade of pharmaceutical drugs (NIA et al., 2010).
Comparisons to the marijuana market: Compared to meth and crystal meth use, rates of cannabis use
among adolescent students are typically high (Bouchard et al., 2011). In the mid to late 2000s, the
Canadian illicit drug market has generally remained stable (NIA et al., 2010). National Intelligence
Analysis et al. (2010) contend that cannabis remained to be the most popular illicit

House of Spirits
The House of Spirits by Isabel Allende is captivating novel full of the supernatural and realistic sides
of the Trueba women. Allende s use of the supernatural heightens suspense, enhances the setting, and
complicates the plot (Jenkins). The novel goes through three generations of women each one more
involved with spirits than the previous. Clara is the mother of Blanca and grandmother of Alba which
expresses the realism of spirits as Clara passes on. Allende uses her experiences as a woman to
personify them through the three generations, emphasizing the bond between the three in form of
ghosts and spirits and illustrates their power through their silence and voice truly creating a threat to
the society. The silence allows for them to be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The women portrayed in the novel all have an angelic feel to them, or that they are constantly being
followed by a ghost. This out of body presence is that of their family. Blanca and Alba experience this
when Clara passes away in that her spirit is always with them and her ghost is constantly on earth, as
though she is unable to leave. The Empowering distinction of the women with spirits is a great threat
to the fabric of Chilean society for women feeling power to equality with men would start a
revolution. As Jenkins states in her essay on Supernatural, ghost, spirits, and women Allende
reproduces the silences of Clara that reflect a kind of subversive mimicry of patriarchal scripts of
female submission rather than a complicity in such scripts .(Jenkins).
Despite not direct influence on Alba, once Clara has passed she still is influence Alba s life and what
she does. Clara s spirit inspires Alba to begin writing as her grandmother once did, which in turn
rescued Alba from possible psychological and physical pain. The power behind the voice of women in
the novel and roles played mirror the way ghosts and spirits indentify in the novel. The author
employs many forms of realism in her writing to incorporate the lives of Clara, Blanca, and Alba. This
is evident through Clara in that her spirits are going against religion and good manners. The

Americas Colonization
The seeking of power and new lands started all the way back to centuries ago. It was the time were
Empires colonized the Americas establishing their own sets of rules that the Native Americans in the
lands must followed. This Empires cause an enormous effect on this people because their lives
changed completely, in a way that they had to adapt to a new way of living. However, not all Empires
had the same success on the colonization or even the same process of colonizing these new lands.
Spanish and Portuguese established their Empires in the Americas, creating all new political structure,
religious believed, economical changes and social interactions.
Let s begin with explaining the foundation of every nation, this is obvious; politics. Without the latter
content people will have a disorganized, uncivilized, unstructured and violent society. Spain was
considered to be monarchy, since it was ruled by a queen and king during the sixteen and seventeen
centuries. It got so much power and territory that it was considered the largest Empire in history. Their
politics were extremely strict and firm control over their empire (Esler, 2004). It consisted of a
Council of Indies, whose job was to maintain the colonies under control and not letting them to take
power. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

this country was considered the leader of the entire power in Europe. It got to the point that Portugal

independence of the colony of New Hemisphere. Both of this country have the similarities of being a
monarchy even though there weren t rule by the same queen and king. They were the first countries
that expanded their colonies throughout the Americas. This made them two of the largest global

Dance Autobiography
When I was little the earliest memories I had was in the Lori Allen Dance Company. When I was three
my mom put me in dance class to not only strengthen my muscles, but to get me to be more social.
Even though I was still very young, my mom was very scared that I would grow up and never open up
to anyone else, but her. The first day of dance class I remember like it was yesterday. I walked in and a
bunch of little girls were putting on their ballet shoes. My mom walked me in and sat down on the
floor. She knew that if she were to leave me there in that room I would run out screaming and crying.
For the first couple of dance practices I wouldn t take my eyes off my mom. I wanted to make sure
that she didnt abandoned me. After about ten practices

What are the advantages and disadvantages of telling stories using moving images?
The overall objective and purpose of telling a story is to engage with the audience to convey the
meaning of a plot and create a human connection on an emotional level (Batty p292). Stories can be
told in a variety of ways, and the method by which a story/narrative is told determines the way in
which we connect and interact with it emotionally. Each mode of story telling is capable of presenting
the same story in different ways. Humans are capable of both understanding and interpreting the
different content and style associated with different modes of story telling.
For the purpose of this essay I contend that a moving image is one that is viewed upon a ... Show more

Without the presence of any dialogue a feeling can be created by the way the camera moves and
reveals what is on screen. Whether this be a pan across the screen, a slow or fast zoom in or out, a
certain perspective shot or a point of view. The way the camera moves, allows the audience to feel a
sense of involvement as if they are part of the action because of the accompanying movement of the
eye following what is happening on screen (Ganz p228).
As Bubb states technology now offers speed and fluidity (p370). In story telling this relates to the pace
at which the information is understood and also the structure in which the information is presented.
When using moving images to tell a story the control over space and time that the storyteller has is
very different to that when telling a story using the written or spoken word. The film Pulp Fiction by
Quentin Tarantino demonstrates the notion of being able to control and manipulate the relation
between space and time very well. It is a film with a complex narrative that has a non linear structure,
where a combination of interlinked stories are told out of order, yet the flow of the narrative still runs
smoothly and keeps the audience in suspense. The irregular pattern in the film where it fluctuates and
jumps from scene to scene shows a combination of images that are discontinuous moments, rendered
continuous (Ganz 2010 p 229). We have the knowledge that these moments clearly can not

Essay on Hell s Kitchen and the Capeman Murder
Hell s Kitchen and the Capeman Murder
Hell s Kitchen is the section of Manhattan that is between 34th and 59th Streets and from 8th Avenue
to the Hudson River. It was the home of New York s most dangerous criminals from the early
tenement days to Prohibition to the Westies. The population consisted of poor people who lived in a
disorderly fashion and expressed themselves with a demanding spirit. Mayhem and reports of criminal
homicide from the late nineteenth century on supply a good idea of daily life in Hell s Kitchen. These
reports illustrate a neighborhood full of crime, poverty, religious worship, hard work and family
commitment. Vampires, Dragons, and Egyptian Kings divided by race, ethnicity, and neighborhood

Second, during the drafting of the Civil War there was a lot of chaos and many fatal riots against the
rich because they were able to buy there way out of the war, including the protest of the Conscription
Act. Differences in the beliefs of these people led to a segregated community and the creation of gangs
had begun. The first neighborhood gangs were formed by the massive amount of children (often
referred to as sea urchins) that became homeless after the Civil War. The Dutch Heinrichs led the 19th
Street Gang and it was known as one of the most infamous cliques around. They commanded tribute
from factory owners and merchants, they broke into houses and they abused and robbed strangers. The
gang s leader Dutch Heinricks was incarcerated after attacking a police Captain. Thereafter came the
Gophers, who were targeted for arrest after the slaying of a man named William Lennon in a bar at
45th Street and 11th Avenue, and the Dead Rabbits who lived in the filthy tenements west of 7th
Avenue in the 20 s and 30 s. By the 1900 s, 36th Street to 59th Street west of 9th Avenue became an
area of dirty tenements and factories forming a depressing and dark neighborhood that carried out the
nature of slum life. The murder rate (often committed by gang members) in this section of the city
continuously multiplied. The practices of the local criminal and the Westies gang in the middle of the

  • 2. Road To El Dorado Analysis Road to El Dorado The movie I watched was the Road to El Dorado. The directors of this movie are Eric Bibo Bergeron, Don Paul, Jeffrey Katzenberg, Will Finn, and David Silverman. The top three actors of this film are Kevin Kline as Tulio, Kenneth Branagh as Miguel, and Rosie Perez who plays the voice of Chel. Road to El Dorado was produced in 2000 by Dreamworks Animation. It includes subtitles and is in color. The movie is also now available to watch on Netflix which is where I watched it. Two con artist Tulio and Miguel leave Spain as stowaways on Cortes s ship in 1519 that is headed to Mexico with a special map. The map is supposed to lead to a city of gold, but when they reach the city things aren t what they expect. While the two convince the people that they are gods they meet a girl name Chel who knows their true identity and helps with with their con for a share of their gold. However, Chel becomes more than an accomplice to Tulio, and Miguel is, you know, Miguel. Then things start to get messy when Tzekel Kan tries to expose who the are to the people of El Dorado. • 3. Online Learning Vs. Traditional Classroom Learning Online Learning vs. Traditional Classroom Learning Crystal I. Grimes Grimes9892@mail.philau.edu IT 201 Professor Jim Greene Abstract: Technology has had and imperative influence in almost every aspect of life. It has also made an impact on how we learn today. Some question how effective learning could be via the internet, while most stick with the familiarity of traditional classroom learning. Either option you choose still substantiates that technology has changed the way we learn and will continue to expand on its influences with the ways we choose to progress educationally. Each educational platform has it disadvantages, however the advantages pose alternatives that can suit an individual s educational needs. With technology influencing almost every aspect of common activities, it s not unusual for it to influence the way we learn. The traditional classroom environment is being challenged with the implementation of online learning. With major technological advances over the last 20 years, many traditional classroom environments have been replaced with online learning platforms that create convenient, accelerated, and comprehensive learning opportunities around the world. Although some would beg the differ that online learning can replace classroom education completely, online education continues to improve allowing it to become a more trustworthy alternative for learning. Since the traditional classroom environment pacifies familiarity in education some opt for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Church History Chapter 4 For the same Church Through reading the chapter 4 of the book Church History , written by Kevin Hughes, I find the connection between the Luther s Conflict with Catholic opponents and the definition of the Church. In other words, although the traditional Catholic theologians and Luther have different views about the if a human could follow Gospel perfectly, they were still a unity that gathered by God to form the Church, and both of them were doing their best to teach the Holy Spirit of God to other citizens. Arguing the sense of human sinfulness, Christians could better ways to bring Jesus Holy and love to others. Moreover, the deeper understanding of sins could save from people from the suffering of further sins. For example, the Christ had bequeathed the spirit to the Church, and the Spirit preserved the Church from error. • 9. Pre-Political Dissent Tumultuous Rock: the Culture of Dissent in the Music of Communist Czechoslovakia One of the highest aims of art is the creation of unrest Ivan Jirous Longhairs, punkers, and the musical underground. In soviet Czechoslovakia, all of these groups were part of a cultural revolution of rejecting societal norms and a movement of pre political dissent. Music is an emotive response to dissent, a form that is more of a way of being than just ideological. The musical underground allowed citizens of Czechoslovakia to create a counterculture movement without being inherently political. These people purely wanted the freedom to express themselves and this idea of pre political dissent was exemplified through the subculture of rock and punk music. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Before the onset of normalization, rock music was not as regulated and often had public spaces for musicians to play their music such as the Big Beat festivals. However after normalization, many of these festivals were shut down, venues were scarce and bands had to requalify to the regime to be allowed to play their music. Bands such as the famous Plastic People of the Universe were one of the many trying to requalify. The problem was that many of the requirements of the regime in order to be an official band was that you could not have an English band name. The Plastic People of The Universe did not fit that description. The band name itself was almost seen as a dissent point for the band, as they are named after a Frank Zappa song about the exasperation with phonies and hypocrites of the system. The consequences of the Plastics not becoming an official band seemed at first to set them back, as they had to return a lot of their government owned equipment and were not allowed to release their songs. However, they soon discovered the musical underground and filled the void that was left by the disbanding of The Primitives, and started to find their own space. A turning point for the band was when Ivan Jirous aka Magor became their band manager. Jirous was a cultural dissident, a friend of Vaclav Havel, and was extremely involved with the political sides of dissent of the time. Jirous influenced the Plastics to become more inherently political with their music as they started to take poetry from Egon Bondy and set it to music and to play their music in Czech and not English. Another turning point in the history of the Plastics and the underground was the Budějovická massacre on March 30th 1974. A country side concert turned police brutality, the police brutalized hundreds of Czech youth who were there to see underground bands such as the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. My Reflection Of My Experience In The Courtroom For me, attending the Lindsey Flanigan Courthouse was the first experience I ve had in a physical court room. From the moment I arrived, I felt fairly overwhelmed with so many court rooms and cases being heard that day. I decided to go to the fifth floor, where felony cases were being heard, and I thought it would be fairly exciting getting to hear felony cases compared to misdemeanors. My expectations before going were mostly based on shows such as Law and Order, in which the whole hour is spent hearing one specific case. But in reality, the proceedings were far different from what I expected. When I arrived in the court room, the case of People v. Larry Sanchez was being discussed. Mr. Sanchez, was not only in handcuffs, but also wearing a correctional facilities green jumpsuit. Those simple facts led me to expect a lot of action, but after a few minutes I noticed that it was simply an arraignment in which the judge accepted the defendant s petition for plea bargain. I thought it was very interesting observing the side of the defendant, since the defense attorneys were public defenders. Seeing them have a different client every few minutes and having to know everything about their respective cases was very impressive. Meanwhile, representing the people on the side of the prosecution for every case were two attorneys. The situation of global chocolate always causes wide attention since 2007. As could be seen in figure 1 and 2, it seems that the situation of chocolate shortages is a recent problem. The peak of this trend showed in November 2014. According to Walters (2015, p.4), chocolate shortage is happened all over the world. In this report, some results would be enumerated and compared by the empirical evidences to discuss what would need to be done for facing global chocolate shortages. The discussion consisted by factors of reasons, the economic effects and some alternatives of chocolate. Firstly, the major reasons of global chocolate shortages are cocoa shortages and over consumption. It has a close relationship between them that cocoa bean is a basis of chocolate. Climate changes and pestilence in Africa which is a chief producer, was culprit. It needs about two to five years to get new cacao tress to produce new cocoa beans. Lastly, this paper will show my own experiences and opinions of the healthcare debate and where I stand on the subject. Critics of the ACA have resurrected doubts about its cost containment measures and overall fiscal impact. (Orszag Emanuel 2010) Values in Health Policy When looking at the value of health care policies we have to look at fairness and efficiency, the term efficiency wears a lot of caps, generally when efficiency suites one person it impacts the other person. The tetrabenazine medication assists in decreasing the amount of dopamine in the body to extend to nerve cells within the brain, since this disease affects a part of the brain. It is widely used to help treat Huntington s disease since it does help decrease the involuntary movements that the body can have. Tetrabenazine has side effects of sedation, hypertonia, muscle rigidity, depression, bradykinesia, restlessness, drowsiness and akathisia. (n.a. Tetrabenazine Side Effects in Detail; n.d.) The Tao Te Ching, while not very familiar to the average westerner, is filled with numerous verses that speak directly about the negative aspects of American culture and how we should be behaving. While the news spouts horror stories daily about the terrible events in the world, remembering the teachings of the Tao can help to alter our actions in the future. • 37. Tattoos Are A Symbol Of Sexual And Bodily Freedom The practice of tattooing has been used around the globe for ages, particularly in tribal societies. However, there has been an increase in this type of body art in Western society over the last century, regardless of its savage like connotations. Tattoos are viewed by many women as a symbol of control over their bodies, which challenges their historically rooted dependence on men. In this paper, I will argue that although tattoos are a symbol of sexual and bodily freedom for many women, men often interpret this symbolism to mean not simply that women have freedom to make decisions about their bodies, but that women will be promiscuous in their decision making. This interpretation affects interactions and perpetuates stereotypes about tattoos on women s bodies. In Western society, research shows that men are sensitive to a range of physical cues in women, such as a low waist to hip ratio, larger breasts, effective cosmetics use, revealing clothing, and even wearing the color red signals sexual receptivity (Mehta, Psychology Today). Tattoos are yet another physical cue. Men and women realize the symbolism of sexual and bodily freedom that tattoos portray, but for some reason men think tattooed women will be promiscuous in their decision making. I will begin by offering reasons for this promiscuous stereotype s development in Western society, followed by its effects on male female interactions and finally some insight on stereotype reinforcement. Allende s use of the supernatural heightens suspense, enhances the setting, and complicates the plot (Jenkins). The novel goes through three generations of women each one more involved with spirits than the previous. Clara is the mother of Blanca and grandmother of Alba which expresses the realism of spirits as Clara passes on. Allende uses her experiences as a woman to personify them through the three generations, emphasizing the bond between the three in form of ghosts and spirits and illustrates their power through their silence and voice truly creating a threat to the society. The women portrayed in the novel all have an angelic feel to them, or that they are constantly being followed by a ghost. This out of body presence is that of their family. Blanca and Alba experience this when Clara passes away in that her spirit is always with them and her ghost is constantly on earth, as though she is unable to leave. The Empowering distinction of the women with spirits is a great threat to the fabric of Chilean society for women feeling power to equality with men would start a revolution. As Jenkins states in her essay on Supernatural, ghost, spirits, and women Allende reproduces the silences of Clara that reflect a kind of subversive mimicry of patriarchal scripts of female submission rather than a complicity in such scripts .(Jenkins). Despite not direct influence on Alba, once Clara has passed she still is influence Alba s life and what she does. Clara s spirit inspires Alba to begin writing as her grandmother once did, which in turn rescued Alba from possible psychological and physical pain. The power behind the voice of women in the novel and roles played mirror the way ghosts and spirits indentify in the novel. The author employs many forms of realism in her writing to incorporate the lives of Clara, Blanca, and Alba. This is evident through Clara in that her spirits are going against religion and good manners. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The overall objective and purpose of telling a story is to engage with the audience to convey the meaning of a plot and create a human connection on an emotional level (Batty p292). Stories can be told in a variety of ways, and the method by which a story/narrative is told determines the way in which we connect and interact with it emotionally. Each mode of story telling is capable of presenting the same story in different ways. Humans are capable of both understanding and interpreting the different content and style associated with different modes of story telling. For the purpose of this essay I contend that a moving image is one that is viewed upon a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Without the presence of any dialogue a feeling can be created by the way the camera moves and reveals what is on screen. Whether this be a pan across the screen, a slow or fast zoom in or out, a certain perspective shot or a point of view. The way the camera moves, allows the audience to feel a sense of involvement as if they are part of the action because of the accompanying movement of the eye following what is happening on screen (Ganz p228). As Bubb states technology now offers speed and fluidity (p370). In story telling this relates to the pace at which the information is understood and also the structure in which the information is presented. When using moving images to tell a story the control over space and time that the storyteller has is very different to that when telling a story using the written or spoken word. The film Pulp Fiction by Quentin Tarantino demonstrates the notion of being able to control and manipulate the relation between space and time very well. It is a film with a complex narrative that has a non linear structure, where a combination of interlinked stories are told out of order, yet the flow of the narrative still runs smoothly and keeps the audience in suspense. The irregular pattern in the film where it fluctuates and jumps from scene to scene shows a combination of images that are discontinuous moments, rendered continuous (Ganz 2010 p 229). We have the knowledge that these moments clearly can not ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
